- 0:12Speaker 1: Patriots Training Camp. Well, I do still watch the news.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Practice is over, but the writers of Patriots dot com
- 0:18Speaker 1: have you covered what I miss yesterday? Now here to
- 0:20Speaker 1: review today's practice? The writers of Patriots dot com, Well,
- 0:25Speaker 1: we're cruising now. Day three of Patriots Training Camp twenty
- 0:28Speaker 1: twenty two is in the books. This is Mike do
- 0:31Speaker 1: So Paul Perillo. We are here for the camp cast.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Get you guys caught up on everything that happened here
- 0:36Speaker 1: today on Friday in practice, and Paul, seems like a
- 0:39Speaker 1: little bit of a continuation of what we saw yesterday
- 0:42Speaker 1: with the defense making making a making a handful more
- 0:44Speaker 1: plays than the offense. Yeah, I do think they were
- 0:46Speaker 1: a little bit more successful than the offense today. But
- 0:50Speaker 1: there were some some sort of up and downs. A
- 0:52Speaker 1: couple of guys that I thought flashed, um, you know
- 0:55Speaker 1: it was Sean Wade is a guy we haven't really
- 0:57Speaker 1: seen a whole lot from in his time as a Patriot.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Thought he you know, had his hand in a couple
- 1:01Speaker 1: of passes today. And on the offensive side, Jono Smith,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I think that'll be good news for a lot of
- 1:05Speaker 1: Patriots fans to hear. Um. I thought he made some
- 1:09Speaker 1: plays and did it, did a pretty nice job. It
- 1:12Speaker 1: looks like they're setting something up here. This is the
- 1:14Speaker 1: end of practice. It's you know, still kind of a
- 1:16Speaker 1: live portion here of the of the podcast. Here Belichick
- 1:20Speaker 1: and had the entire team in in a pretty tight
- 1:23Speaker 1: circle for a while. And I think Trey Nixon has
- 1:25Speaker 1: been sort of nominated to do some sort of catching
- 1:28Speaker 1: of us. Seems like he's gonna have to catch multiple
- 1:30Speaker 1: punton if he can catch him. I mean, there's gotta
- 1:32Speaker 1: be something on the line here in terms of meetings
- 1:35Speaker 1: or like a practice. Who knows, But uh, yeah, I
- 1:38Speaker 1: thought Jono Smith today was one of the few bright
- 1:41Speaker 1: spots on offense. Mike, Well, you're getting some live coverage
- 1:43Speaker 1: as well as a recap, and we just uh Marcus
- 1:45Speaker 1: Jones catch, he had a football in his hand. He
- 1:47Speaker 1: caught a second punt. We'll see what it might translate to.
- 1:50Speaker 1: But yeah, Paul, great great point out on John who
- 1:52Speaker 1: Smith seemed like he was active, comfortable, made some contested catches.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Another guy. I mean, it continues to show up. Josh
- 1:58Speaker 1: Bledsoe is just just getting a lot of run with the
- 2:01Speaker 1: top guys. Nice interception by Jaylen mill Well, I don't
- 2:03Speaker 1: know if I should call it a nice interception. Mac Jones,
- 2:05Speaker 1: we were through right to him, but looked like a
- 2:07Speaker 1: little bit of a miscommunication between mac Jones and Jacoby Myers.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And Jacoby Myers another guy we hadn't really talked about
- 2:12Speaker 1: a lot the first couple of days. He was also active,
- 2:15Speaker 1: had a number of catches here as they kind of
- 2:16Speaker 1: moved out a little bit into as you call the
- 2:19Speaker 1: high red zone, high red zone. Yeah, they got some
- 2:22Speaker 1: more work in that regard today. And again it wasn't
- 2:27Speaker 1: it wasn't like yesterday. We made a big deal yesterday,
- 2:29Speaker 1: Oh they were ten straight stops for the defense. It
- 2:32Speaker 1: was a little back and forth. Today. I thought the
- 2:34Speaker 1: defense was good again though you know, again most of
- 2:37Speaker 1: the defensive backs working with the gloves on their hands,
- 2:39Speaker 1: those like sparring pads on their hands, and and they
- 2:42Speaker 1: got a chance to make some plays despite that. But
- 2:46Speaker 1: again I felt like there were some moments offensively u
- 2:50Speaker 1: you know, led by by John who which you know
- 2:52Speaker 1: that that to me is an encouraging signs. See if
- 2:54Speaker 1: maybe he could be a bigger part of the offense
- 2:56Speaker 1: in year or two. Um, you know some of the
- 3:00Speaker 1: other guy. I thought Jacobe Myers was a little bit
- 3:02Speaker 1: more involved today, um than he has been the first
- 3:05Speaker 1: couple of days. Looks like Marcus Jones now was that three? Yeah, Yeah,
- 3:08Speaker 1: he's getting some congratulations from his defense. I'm wondering if
- 3:11Speaker 1: this is offense verse defense, Paul and one team is
- 3:14Speaker 1: going to have to run sprints and push up Prince
- 3:16Speaker 1: or something. Well, so they're very excited. You're getting some
- 3:21Speaker 1: back and forth here and again it's amping up what
- 3:23Speaker 1: we've seen the last couple of days, which is the
- 3:25Speaker 1: competition between the offense and the defense. We know all
- 3:28Speaker 1: the cliches, iron sharpens, iron, all those kind of things,
- 3:31Speaker 1: but the competition has certainly been present here in the
- 3:33Speaker 1: first couple of days. You've seen the energy from the
- 3:36Speaker 1: offense the defense kind of countering the last couple of days. Uh.
- 3:40Speaker 1: You know, overall, it feels like it's it's a pretty
- 3:42Speaker 1: good start to camp, and I think that that you're
- 3:44Speaker 1: seeing it right now with oh Ay, Marcus Jones just
- 3:48Speaker 1: couldn't quite he had it, But I think I don't
- 3:51Speaker 1: know how you can do like it looks like he
- 3:53Speaker 1: has three balls already in his hands. Right, they're asking
- 3:55Speaker 1: a lot now. I think we might be down to
- 3:57Speaker 1: the to the offense, and he's moving quite a diss
- 4:00Speaker 1: sense to try to try to corral that one. We'll
- 4:02Speaker 1: see if Nixon can do Nixon for the win. He's
- 4:04Speaker 1: under it, and no, he couldn't. He shouldn't hold on either. Well,
- 4:09Speaker 1: they're sure making it difficult on them, and we'll see
- 4:12Speaker 1: what they'll have to run. That's right, I'm sure. But
- 4:15Speaker 1: Bill Belichick known for these kind of games, making guys
- 4:17Speaker 1: catch punts to get out of practice days, get out
- 4:20Speaker 1: of get out of sprints. Perhaps that's what's going on here.
- 4:23Speaker 1: But overall, another great day of practice, beautiful day. We'll
- 4:26Speaker 1: be back here on Sunday or sorry, tomorrow, Saturday for
- 4:30Speaker 1: the fourth practice, and then they'll have a day off.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We're anticipating pads. We'll come on Monday. Things should ramp up.
- 4:35Speaker 1: We'll see what kind of competitive periods we get into tomorrow.
- 4:39Speaker 1: But otherwise, for Paul Parole, this is might do. So
- 4:41Speaker 1: we'll see you next Campcast. Thank you for downloading this podcast.
