- 0:00Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 58.
- 0:03Dayna Roselli: Fantasy Taplets Review is back at the Lux Door.
- 0:06Dayna Roselli: We talk to legendary choreographer Anita Mann and dancer Mariah Rivera how they are making it work during these times.
- 0:14Sean McAllister: Hey, work it.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: Every single night that we get to go back on stage, we're just we're just the luckiest girls and entertainers that we get to go out and share our all of our gifts and talents that we've trained our whole life for.
- 0:24Sean McAllister: Plus, lots of Vegas is turning into a hot spot for spring break.
- 0:28Sean McAllister: But exactly who is willing to travel here this year?
- 0:32Sean McAllister: We have the result of an exclusive Vegas Revealed poll coming up.
- 0:37Dayna Roselli: Plus, what a job some of our Las Vegas entertainers have been up to during the pandemic.
- 0:42Dayna Roselli: We took notes we'll have a rundown coming up.
- 0:58Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed episode 58.
- 1:02Dayna Roselli: We have so much to talk about today.
- 1:04Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli.
- 1:05Sean McAllister: And I'm Sean McAllister, and you know the the temperatures are starting to warm up here in Las Vegas, Dana.
- 1:11Sean McAllister: We've had some a little bit of crazy weather.
- 1:13Sean McAllister: The wind has been like just popping up out of nowhere and like fifth 40, 50 miles per hour.
- 1:20Sean McAllister: Trash cans, road cones have been blowing all over the place, but the temperatures are warming up.
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's been a pretty nice winter compared to those few days of those, you know, whippy winds and and cold temps.
- 1:34Dayna Roselli: But gosh, I feel like, you know, I've definitely been able to sit on the patio and soak up the sun a little bit over the last few weeks.
- 1:40Sean McAllister: Well, and compared to the rest of the country, the you know, people i I mean, it really is.
- 1:45Sean McAllister: The the eastern two-thirds of the country have really had a rough go of it.
- 1:50Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 1:51Sean McAllister: Uh the especially the last, you know, few weeks, the last month or so.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: So there are they're probably looking for some great options for spring break and somewhere maybe that they could go that's a little warmer.
- 2:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's interesting because I have like a group of people that I know that they just they've been traveling through this whole thing.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: Mexico, Hawaii.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: Those seem to be the two kind of most popular places that people have gone that I know from Las Vegas.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: But you know, now we're talking spring break, which, you know, I have no sense of time, so I always have to remind myself when is spring break?
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: Like, what's the deal?
- 2:25Dayna Roselli: But yeah, people are itching too.
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: Many people are itching too.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: I think there's a half, like a lot of people are just want to stay put.
- 2:33Dayna Roselli: But then there's like a big portion.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: For the time being, yeah.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: But there's a big portion that want to just get out, like you said.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: And I know that we recently made a list according to uh Expedia, the most searched destination for spring break 2021.
- 2:46Dayna Roselli: So hey, we're we're happy to hear that.
- 2:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, Las Vegas made the the top ten list on uh Expedia.
- 2:53Sean McAllister: So, you know, it shows that there is interest.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: It's based off of uh Google searches and uh bookings on that travel site.
- 3:02Sean McAllister: So um it does show that there is interest in coming back to Las Vegas.
- 3:08Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:08Sean McAllister: And uh another sign uh that there's interest, which we talked about in episode 57 of Vegas Revealed, is the fact that a lot of the casino resorts down on the strip that were operating on limited schedules have now opened things back up to 24-7.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: So it'll make a big difference, you know.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: And then we we touched on this last week too about you know, March Madness is gonna bring in a lot of people.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: Um so that'll keep the hotels busy, it'll keep the restaurants going and the bars and all that.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: So I mean, yeah, we're we're a place to be, you know, now that people want to get out and we're happy to have you.
- 3:43Dayna Roselli: Let me tell you, we're looking forward to our economy bouncing back.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: And um, we have a lot of shows that have started, you know, doing shows with a hundred people in the audience, Carrot Top, Fantasy.
- 3:53Dayna Roselli: I think David Copperfield's coming back as well.
- 3:56Dayna Roselli: So we're getting there.
- 3:57Sean McAllister: We are, and and by the way, coming up in uh just a couple minutes, we're talking with Anita Mann, the producer of Fantasy, along with uh Mariah Rivera, who is the associate producer and also a dancer in that show.
- 4:11Sean McAllister: So you want to stick around for that.
- 4:12Sean McAllister: But yeah, entertainment is coming back.
- 4:14Sean McAllister: There's a lot of shows that are either back on stage already or slated to be back on stage by mid-March.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and you know, Carrot Top's been posting some of his jokes from the show on his Instagram, and I am dying because I knew he'd have some good, like, pandemic jokes, right?
- 4:30Sean McAllister: Oh, he's hilarious.
- 4:31Sean McAllister: I love Carat Top.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: I watched this one where he was like, you know, they have to be a certain um uh ways away from the audience, but he kept like dipping his foot like one step down and like, you know, risking it.
- 4:43Dayna Roselli: It's just he's just his demeanor.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: Anyway, if you get a chance and you want a good laugh, go see Karatop.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: He's back at the Luxor too.
- 4:50Dayna Roselli: So um, hey, we did a poll on our Twitter wondering if people because we have a lot of followers that are outside of Vegas that have an interest in visiting Las Vegas or have an interest in visiting um our area, or actually our regulars here on like a two, three, four-time basis a year.
- 5:06Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 5:07Sean McAllister: And uh so we just now have the exclusive poll results to report based off of our uh very unscientific Vegas revealed poll about whether you are going to travel to Vegas this year.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: We had hundreds reply.
- 5:28Dayna Roselli: And the final results, yes, according to 55.2% of you, and no, according to 44.8% of you.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: So definitely more in the yes zone, which we were happy to hear.
- 5:42Dayna Roselli: And some of the responses, because people kind of also added their two cents, but uh someone wrote Ben three times since September 2020, and this will be my fourth trip in seven months.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: So they've been enjoying Las Vegas and don't seem to be worried about it.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: Uh, we have Chip that's coming in in May, and he says, uh, oh yeah.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: So we're excited to have Chip.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: Uh a couple people chimed in and said they're a local, so they didn't vote, but um Steve, Las Vegas, UK, is his Twitter handle.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: He says he sure hopes so.
- 6:11Sean McAllister: And Marla, who uh is a uh listener and uh a frequent commenter on the Vegas Revealed social media pages, says, yes, but only when the Donnie Osman residency starts.
- 6:23Sean McAllister: So the good news that's starting up over at Hara's Las Vegas, Donnie's solo residency uh coming up this summer.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and Marla's holding nine tickets.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: Holy ready to go.
- 6:34Sean McAllister: Man, Marla bringing the posse to see Donnie.
- 6:37Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 6:38Sean McAllister: But there are some other people who commented and said that because of the mask mandate at the casinos, they say nope, not coming while all that's enforced, waiting for all those restrictions to be lifted.
- 6:52Sean McAllister: However, I will say, if you do come here to Las Vegas, I I think our resorts have done uh a pretty good job of the social distancing and having hand sanitizing stations really every few steps.
- 7:09Sean McAllister: And you know, our our security officials at the hotels uh make sure that people are wearing their masks.
- 7:18Sean McAllister: So a trip here can be done uh reasonably safely.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: I must say I went out to the cosmopolitan to eat at STK and I had heard, like, oh, it kind of gets packed in there, and I don't know, you know, and when we went though, I can't explain how safe I felt because what they have the dividers, you know, the plastic dividers in between the boots.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: So you really kind of feel like it's only you and your group.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: And then, you know, obviously the waitresses and waiters are wearing masks.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: So we were kind of like a part of something, but also kind of like compartmentalized, compartment, yes, but you hear the music, you see the people around you, you just aren't near them.
- 7:53Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: So, you know, that's kind of what we have to do now, and it can be done and it can still be fun.
- 7:58Sean McAllister: And that's what uh uh most of the restaurants I've been to a couple restaurants down on the strip, and that's what they've done as well.
- 8:04Sean McAllister: So if you if Vegas is in your plans for spring break, we look forward to seeing you the end of March, early April.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: And something that you have coming up, you you splurged and you bought a ticket to a golden knights game, the first one back with an audience.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: And so they're allowing what 15% capacity now at T-Mobile Arena?
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be the first time.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: So last episode of Vegas Revealed, we talked about the plan that the Golden Knights have submitted to uh Clark County, the county that Las Vegas uh resides in.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: Um they submitted a plan for 20% capacity at uh T Mobile Arena.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: The county can't countered that plan and said, Okay, you know what, we'll allow 15%.
- 8:50Sean McAllister: So there's 2,500 fans that are allowed inside T Mobile Arena for uh Golden Knights games starting March 1st.
- 8:59Sean McAllister: And I did as soon as tickets went on sale, went on there, bought a pair of tickets.
- 9:04Sean McAllister: They're selling them in pods.
- 9:06Sean McAllister: So when you go in and look at the seating chart of the arena, you only have certain seating options, and the pods are either in two, four, or six seat clusters.
- 9:19Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: And then you can't go alone, you have to have a friend.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: You have to have a friend.
- 9:23Sean McAllister: You do, you can't buy a single ticket.
- 9:27Sean McAllister: But then they have a bunch of other safety measures that are going to be enforced for people who do buy tickets.
- 9:34Sean McAllister: They're uh supplying recommended entry times so that everybody doesn't show up all at once.
- 9:40Sean McAllister: Um there's a game day symptom check as you uh arrive at T-Mobile Arena.
- 9:47Sean McAllister: There's a touchless security scan, no bags are allowed.
- 9:51Sean McAllister: So that's something for the ladies to keep in mind.
- 9:54Sean McAllister: No uh purses or clutches.
- 9:56Sean McAllister: Um there's digital ticketing, so there's no paper tickets being passed around.
- 10:01Sean McAllister: Masks are required in there.
- 10:03Sean McAllister: Um they're doing enhanced cleaning schedules inside T-Mobile Arena.
- 10:08Sean McAllister: So uh they're making it possible for fans to be back in there.
- 10:12Sean McAllister: And next week in episode 59, I'm going to have my my first hand account.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: Now I want you to have a good time, so don't worry too much about doing things for the podcast.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: But you could give us a little video and a little recollection of what happened and what it was like.
- 10:26Dayna Roselli: Well, I can't see.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: You spent some some good money on those tickets.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: I want to make sure you you soak it in.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: Well, there's going to be libations enjoyed.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: Well, good, good.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: Well, that'll be fun.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: Then definitely leave us some voice notes because we want to hear drunk Sean at the at the game.
- 10:41Dayna Roselli: Something else we wanted to touch on was something that you and I were chatting about recently, and we thought, you know what, this would be a really great conversation for the podcast because we commend these people.
- 10:50Dayna Roselli: We've talked about so many people being out of work and getting creative during the pandemic, and we talk often about our Las Vegas shows.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: But something that you and I notice and have, you know, had conversations with the some of these folks about is the odd jobs that some of our Las Vegas headliners and entertainers have been doing to get by.
- 11:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it's been really interesting to see some of uh, you know, these creative work options are in the entertainment realm, and others are completely outside.
- 11:23Sean McAllister: Maybe it's a hobby that some of these entertainers have had off stage that they've turned into work during this time.
- 11:29Sean McAllister: And uh one of the performers that comes to mind immediately is Murray Sawchuk, who's a magician here.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he's been doing some some landscaping, and uh I I must say, I'm like, good for you, Murray, like making the best of the situation.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: I'm assuming he's good at it and enjoys it, and that's why he chose to do this, but you know, he's also doing his his stuff on the side and doing what he can in the performing world.
- 11:57Dayna Roselli: But also, you know what?
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: Sometimes you just need to make ends meet.
- 12:00Dayna Roselli: And he went out and started this business, and he's been doing some different backyards and front yards for folks all around town.
- 12:06Sean McAllister: And I've seen pictures that he's posted, and he's doing a great job.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: He really is.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: And you know, Murray is back at Fantasy, which we're gonna be talking about here momentarily, as we said.
- 12:16Dayna Roselli: So he's also the comedian at that show.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: So he's getting back to work and he's got his show going too.
- 12:22Dayna Roselli: So, but listen, kudos to you for making it work through these hard times.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: And I know some Chippendales have been doing home improvement projects.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they've kind of put together a construction squad, which, you know, we were chatting with our friend, uh, who knows the guys, and and I don't think this is a story that I can't repeat.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: Just kind of a funny thing is a lot of the people, you know, they've been working in certain houses doing some painting, and and somehow they always find other odd projects for them to come back and and keep working on.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: Like, oh, now we need the living room painted.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: Can you guys come back?
- 12:54Sean McAllister: Just being, oh, I have a sticky doorknob.
- 12:56Sean McAllister: Can you come and grease it for me?
- 12:59Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 13:00Sean McAllister: And there are some other uh singers in town who have put together uh princess parties for little kids' birthdays.
- 13:09Sean McAllister: They dress as Disney princesses, they they go out, they have a truck that that looks like a a carriage, and they go out, arrive to these uh birthday parties, sing the songs that the kids all love.
- 13:24Sean McAllister: They're not getting like up close and personal, but for these kids, having these princesses show up at their birthday out on the street is just such a magical thing and such a creative way for uh some of the performers down on the strip to keep going over the last several months.
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I see some of them doing voice lessons and things like that.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: I think we interviewed uh Andrew from La Rev, who said he was doing, you know, I think it was vocal lessons or acting lessons online and things like that.
- 13:52Dayna Roselli: So, you know, everyone, kudos to you who's who's made it through.
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: I know it's been a tough, tough time.
- 13:56Dayna Roselli: And and uh speaking of that, we're gonna chat right after the break with Anita Mann from Fantasy and also Mariah Rivera.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: We're excited to chat with them because it's been a challenge, but they are happy to be back.
- 14:09Sean McAllister: Stick around on Vegas Revealed, that's next.
- 14:14Sean McAllister: As always, we want to thank you for listening to us here on Vegas Revealed, and there are more ways than ever for you to listen, and that now includes all of our episodes being uploaded to our Vegas Revealed YouTube channel.

- 14:42Dayna Roselli: We have also been really appreciating your reviews.
- 14:44Dayna Roselli: So if you can go to us on Apple iTunes and Apple Podcasts and leave us a rating and a review, a positive one if you like the show, we would really appreciate it.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: It helps people discover us and it is so important.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: So thanks again for listening, everyone.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: Welcome back to Vegas Revealed.
- 15:03Sean McAllister: You know, as we've been talking about Dana, shows are starting to be back on stage, performers back to work, which is what we've been waiting to hear for months.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: And one of the shows that is back is a long-running show here in Las Vegas, Fantasy over at Luxor.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: Well, yeah, we are excited about this one.
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: And Anita Mann is joining us, Emmy Winning choreographer and also producer of Fantasy.
- 15:29Dayna Roselli: She is a legend in choreography.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: We're excited to have her with us.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: And also Mariah Rivera, who is a dancer and also the associate producer of fantasy.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: Welcome, ladies.
- 15:40Sean McAllister: Thank you for having us.
- 15:41Sean McAllister: First of all, congratulations on uh being back on stage.
- 15:47Sean McAllister: I know that the past almost year now has been incredibly tough for the entertainment community.
- 15:56Sean McAllister: Um, uh Anita, first to you, what has it taken as a producer of a show to get your cast and show back where they belong?
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: Well, thank you, and thank you for having us.
- 16:09SPEAKER_02: And what it takes is to have an associate producer like Mariah to organize everyone, to keep them in shape mentally and physically.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: But what it does take really is a lot of patience, a lot of uh support for our performers because mentally, not only physically, to be a dancer, you're used to dancing every day, you know, and that keeps your body basically that's your tool, and that keeps it strong and sharp.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: But you know, it's like your brain, the mental aspect is really difficult for everyone.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: It's been a year.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: Well, we were back, I'm sorry, for about two and a half weeks in November.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: We closed March 15th.
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: So we're literally coming up on a year next month, you know, of really being closed, other than two and a half weeks, and as a I'm an ex-performer, an ex-pancer.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: And I have to tell you, that's really hard for you not to be able to do your craft.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: So I think the challenge has been to keep everyone mentally and physically strong.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: And I really do rely on Mariah so much for that positive spirit and that energy and that professionalism and caring spirit that she brings to everyone.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: And speaking of that, Mariah, but you have not stopped because you're all over TikTok working your thing and promoting the show, which I love.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: You gotta find ways to keep going, right?
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was just so unclear when we were gonna start.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: So I definitely wanted, you know, our audience to know we were coming back for sure.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: This, you know, keep keep our brand alive and that everyone really kept the faith.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: And I know, like as as um as associate producer, a lot of the girls looked to me as you know, should I get another job?
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: You know, and I was really just trying to keep everyone positive, keep everyone aware that you know Anita is planning on bringing the show back 100%.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: We're coming back to the Luxor.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: It might be a matter of time, but just be ready because they could say, go, and we'll be we'll be on stage tomorrow.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: And we were we were lucky enough.
- 18:19Sean McAllister: You now have uh a few shows back under your belt since you've uh been back.
- 18:24Sean McAllister: What had describe the atmosphere backstage when you were all back together again and and ready for the curtain to rise and have people in those seats.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you just gave me goosebumps thinking about it.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: It was just we were just all so excited because it was just it was so unknown, you know.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: We could have never come back.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: We didn't know if entertainment was ever gonna come back.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: So just getting the opportunity to come back on stage, you could just feel it.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: All of the girls are just so excited.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Most of the girls have been in the show for multiple, multiple years, and we're we're family.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: We love each other so much.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: So just to even see each other in the dressing room, just to get to hang out with each other and then get to go on stage and do something that we've trained our whole lives for and love doing, it's it was it was so exciting.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: And Anita, anything new we can expect in the show if folks have been before?
- 19:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, yes.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: First of all, I want to say that backstage it was really so exciting, but they were six feet apart from each other the entire time, and there was a lot of air hugging and blowing.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: Yes, and it filled my heart to see that energy six feet apart still passing through the air like that.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: It was really amazing.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: So, what we did, we yes, as a choreographer, I had to go to the venue in November.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: We had literally two days before we opened when she said to be prepared.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: We opened November 6th.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: I went in with the cast and restaged the entire show because we had to be six feet apart on stage.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: So I had to and we're on a gigantic stage.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: We have moved from the Atrium showroom during this time temporarily to the Luxor Theater, which is from 350 feet to like 1400 feet and a stage maybe three or four times the size of where we were.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: So we did re-chore graph, we've put in some new material, we put in a new song for Lorena, we put in some magic illusions with Marie Son Chuck, and the ladies are learning them with him right now.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: So that's kind of a new thing in our show because we have a gigantic stage.
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: And we are going to be adding uh probably two new numbers over the next two months.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: You know, we're just really happy that they're back on stage and breathing with a mask on while they're dancing.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: That's a whole another thing that Mariah can, you know, talk about.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: But the bottom line is the show is bigger.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: It's a production show.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: We've added scenic element.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, honestly, it's it's a production show, and we're thrilled that we actually won the best production show of 2020, which for our show is like we're beyond ecstatic.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: But um, yes, you can expect to always have some different kind of surprises in fantasy, and and now we've got a bigger show with bigger surprises.
- 21:37Sean McAllister: And Anita, with everything that you have done uh throughout your career, uh the share show, solid gold, choreographing the Academy Awards.
- 21:46Sean McAllister: I mean, these are big projects.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: Has there ever been anything as challenging as creating choreography in accordance with COVID 19 restrictions?
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: It was a whole new experience.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: I had to time.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: You're allowed to be within six feet of a performer by the CDC guidelines less than 15 minutes.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: You cannot exceed 15 minutes.
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: I'm sitting there with my watch saying, okay, they can pose there.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: They can't go near each other there.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: Spread out there.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: Don't hit the left pose.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Let's go downstage.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: It was timing.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: It was like saying, okay, we're we're up to 10 minutes and 12 seconds, and let's stop because I don't want an accident to accidentally bring them together for more than 15 minutes.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: But the ladies were amazing.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: But the other thing is you have to re-chore graph because you can't cross stage in what's called the same amount of eights.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: You know, like dancers are in counts of eight.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: And to go from stage right to stage left and get to the next position that they were used to in the atrium showroom, you can't do it.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: You need twice that much time to travel.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: So it was that's a wonderful question.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 23:06SPEAKER_02: Because I don't know if anybody knew really what we went through.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: And I came in really prepared with the ladies because I only had what would you have one day Mariah to block on stage and then run through the next day?
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, run through the next day.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: Because like we said, okay, here we go.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: You start here, spread out.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: We put tape marks on the ground six feet apart, upstage and downstage.
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: So in other words, the front row to the back row, the stage right to the stage left.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: It was a mathematical challenge.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: And to make it creative and to make the ladies perform it two days later.
- 23:45SPEAKER_02: Thank you for that question.
- 23:46SPEAKER_02: Nobody's ever asked me that.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: And I was excited to accomplish it.
- 23:52Dayna Roselli: It's a challenge, right?
- 23:53Dayna Roselli: I mean, and and we've all been up to to new challenges.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: And and listen, and when you can tackle it and do it well, which I'm sure you have, I'm sure it's gonna be amazing.
- 24:02Dayna Roselli: Um, it's you know, you feel good about it.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: So congratulations.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: And Mariah, talk about uh dancing with the masks on.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: What has that been like?
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: It has been a challenge.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: Well, and we, you know, we've been taking dance classes and trying to do as much we as we can to stay on shape, but just the amount of energy needed for a full-out show in general is, you know, if you haven't danced for a year, it's it's tricky.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: And then uh the masks are a whole new, a whole new game uh element to add.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: And it was, I'm not gonna lie, like after the very first night, opening number, I ran off stage and and just was like, oh my gosh, I can't breathe.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: This is this is challenging.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: But every single girl is just so lucky.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: And whatever we have to do to stay open, we are we are all for it.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: We are whatever they need to us to do, we we don't ever want to close again.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: Now you guys can have what 100 in the theater right now, and then on March 15th, you'll be able to have 250 or up to 250.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: It's um yes, that's the maximum amount.
- 24:59SPEAKER_02: It's uh right now we're spread out so far, you don't even see another person, hardly at all in the audience.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: And we're 25 feet from the stage.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: I just want to challenge Mariah to one thing.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: This coming Sunday is our first two show night.
- 25:17SPEAKER_02: Yes, and and because we've, you know, Caratop does the eight o'clock show and we do the 1030 show every for years.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: It's been, you know, we're wonderful roommates, and that's what happens.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Well, now that we can only have a hundred people, we're doing the night he's dark, which is Sunday.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: They're doing their first eight o'clock and 1030 show.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna see how they're doing at about 10:45 when they but it'll be, I mean, that's an aerobic.
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: We didn't start it last Sunday because I really wanted them to start building up their stamina.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: So we gave them about eight days from last Friday to or nine days, sorry, to when we start our two shows this Sunday.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: And Mariah, for those folks that uh we have a lot of people that listen from all over the world, we have a huge male audience as well.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: Tell folks about the show, what they can expect if they come see fantasy.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: We have eight fabulous dancers, it's a topless review.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: We've all trained our whole lives in everything, so it's definitely the top of the line show girls.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: We have an amazing singer, Lorena Peril, who is gonna blow your socks off.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: And uh, we have our comedian Murray Sawchuk, who is world-renowned, and he has a bunch of special surprises in store.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: So they're gonna see the same normal show if you've never come and seen fantasy.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: And then if you are brand new to the show, it's it's it's it's really exciting.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: It's great for couples.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: Uh, my grandma always brings her single, uh, her, uh she's part of the Red Hat Society.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: So she always used to come see our show.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: And and it's just it's great for uh ages 18 and above, and and every every possible combination of person that you can think of will will love this at the show.
- 26:58Dayna Roselli: It's very Vegas.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: And I I've been a couple times.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: You guys do a great job.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: And you're right, it is for anyone.
- 27:04Dayna Roselli: I mean, I think a lot of people sometimes might think, oh, it's just for guys, but that's not true at all.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: It's a production.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, yes.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: I think everyone comes.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: We uh we get more compliments from women.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: They're like, you know, my husband really wanted to come and I didn't know what to expect, but man, I'm amazing.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: You guys are amazing.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: And you know, what are your diet secrets?
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: What how do you guys work out?
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: Where do you get your costumes?
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: I just, you know, I would love to recreate, you know, my husband loved this one scene, and I would love to, you know, get that costume and recreate it for him or, you know, whatever.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: It's I'm actually more blown away by the women's compliments after the show.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: Um we used to do a meet and greet after, so we would sign calendars and we actually get to talk to them right currently, right now with with COVID, we're not doing a meet and greet after, but hopefully once everything um settles down a little bit, we can continue that because that's uh such a special part of our show.
- 27:48Sean McAllister: Well, and and that's what we all want to get back to that sense of normalcy as quick as possible.
- 27:55Sean McAllister: And I know that part of that and part of the healing process and getting us there is having entertainment as part of our lives.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: And we're so glad that fantasy is back on stage.
- 28:05Sean McAllister: And thank you for the hard work, uh, Mariah and Anita, that you and the entire cast have have put into getting to this point where we're at today.
- 28:15SPEAKER_02: Thank you for your support.
- 28:17SPEAKER_02: It's been a wonderful community that we have in Vegas, and and the support means so much to all of us.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: And so thank you.
- 28:26Dayna Roselli: We look forward to seeing you on stage, Mariah.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: Thank you both for joining us.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Yes, thank you for having us.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: If you want to see fantasy, go to the Luxor website, MGM Resorts website.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: It'll link you right up.
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: Again, the dates and times, Monday through Saturday, 10 30 p.m., and then Sundays, 8 p.m.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: and 10 30 p.m.
- 28:44Sean McAllister: All right, Dana.
- 28:45Sean McAllister: What do you say we switch gears and dive right into our tips of the week?
- 28:48Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 28:49Sean McAllister: Uh so my tip is uh kind of centered around art and the art and culture that you can get just by walking around the downtown Las Vegas area.
- 29:00Sean McAllister: And by downtown, I'm not talking about the strip corridor.
- 29:04Sean McAllister: I'm talking about like in the area around the Fremont Street district.
- 29:10Sean McAllister: So people call that sometimes Old Vegas, is what out-of-towners call it.
- 29:15Sean McAllister: Well, if you walk around there, you'll see some really incredible murals up on the sides of buildings, and some of the old motels that are down there have been converted into big art pieces thanks to the Life is Beautiful Festival.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: It's really cool.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: If you take a nice walk through there, you can see a lot.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: There's this little alleyway, too, that has tons of murals on it, and sometimes you can actually catch someone in the midst of working on one, and it's just a cool thing to watch.
- 29:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, so if you want to uh take in some of the downtown artwork, uh just keep your eyes peeled.
- 29:52Sean McAllister: Walk around the uh street surrounding Fremont Street in old Las Vegas and uh look up on the sides of the buildings and you'll see some pretty cool stuff.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's nice and safe, fresh air, right?
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 30:04Dayna Roselli: And somewhere I went for a birthday party the other day is Piero's, which has been there forever.
- 30:09Dayna Roselli: An Italian restaurant right on Convention Center Drive.
- 30:12Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be right across from the new convention center, so I'm sure they're loving that once that opens and gets busy as well.
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: But it's been there for ages.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: It's known for having the old mob meetings in the corner and all sorts of different kinds of, you know, Vegasy old school meetings that nobody really could know about but kind of did know about.
- 30:31Sean McAllister: Well, and when you go into Piero, it's like it's got that dark vibe.
- 30:34Sean McAllister: The lights are down low, they have the booths, the it's got that old school vibe, and you can s you kind of imagine the old school mobsters just hanging out there.
- 30:45Sean McAllister: For sure.
- 30:46Dayna Roselli: Listen, I pulled in there on a Friday night, and I don't want to say it was packed, because I feel like these days, packed is like, well, there's actually cars in the parking lot.
- 30:53Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: But you know, there was a good amount of cars in the parking lot, and people were just itching to get to some of their, you know, some of their places.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: And now our restaurants can have 35% capacity, and then on March 15th they'll be able to have 50.
- 31:06Dayna Roselli: But walked into Piero's and you could tell they had a really nice setup.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: Uh, but people were, you know, with their groups at the bar, eating, you know, great dinners and just enjoying life again.
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: But um, I had the Mersala, and let me tell you, it was really, really good.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: And their food is is on point.
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: It's a little pricey, but just be prepared to have a nice dinner and go and, you know, treat yourself if you're gonna go to Piero's.
- 31:30Sean McAllister: But it's an experience.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: We could go on and on and talk about so many things.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: Uh, quick tip also listen to Conversations with Matt Goss this week, a podcast we produce.
- 31:40Dayna Roselli: It's gonna drop on the first, and he interviews someone in the music world, and they have a chat about where life stands when it comes to touring, concerts, festivals.
- 31:52Dayna Roselli: So you definitely wanna listen to that interview.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: It's available on Apple, all the all the apps that we are Apple, Spotify, Google, iHeart, you name it.
- 31:59Sean McAllister: So again, that's conversations with Matt Goss.
- 32:03Sean McAllister: But uh until next time, this is Vegas Reveals with Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister.
- 32:08Dayna Roselli: Listen, everyone, we appreciate your reviews as usual.
- 32:11Dayna Roselli: So drop us a review.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: A five star is always appreciated.
- 32:15Dayna Roselli: And write a review too.
- 32:16Dayna Roselli: It doesn't have to be long.
- 32:17Dayna Roselli: Just tell us what you like about the show.
- 32:19Dayna Roselli: It really helps people find it.
- 32:21Dayna Roselli: That's a great lead.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
- 32:29unknown: Let's go.
