- 2:40news, Boston school officials are proposing a
- 2:44change to the admissions policy for the city's
- 2:47exam schools. aiming for a more equitable system
- 2:50for acceptance into these elite schools. The
- 2:53proposal would reserve 20 % of seats for top
- 2:57-scoring students, regardless of where they live
- 2:59in the city, while the remaining 80 % would still
- 3:02be apportioned across four tiers based on socioeconomic
- 3:06characteristics. Boston Public Schools Superintendent
- 3:10Mary Skipper emphasized that these changes intend
- 3:13to provide a pathway for the highest -scoring
- 3:16students citywide. while maintaining equal invitations
- 3:19across socioeconomic tiers. The school committee
- 3:23will vote on this proposal on November 5th, with
- 3:26support from many parents who recognize the current

- 5:44humming and that has Wall Street on edge. Concerns
- 5:49mouth that a frothy market is concealing signs
- 5:51of excess as sudden bankruptcies rattle investors.
- 5:56United States credit markets are running hot,
- 5:59maybe too hot. Investors are eagerly buying corporate
- 6:03debt, even though the rewards are lower than
- 6:05they have been in decades. The frothy mood has
- 6:09some on Wall Street worried that the market is
- 6:11priced for perfection and right for a fall. Two
- 6:15sudden bankruptcies in the auto sector have triggered
- 6:18conversations among bond investors and analysts.
- 6:22So far, there is no sign of wider fallout. But
- 6:25challenges like persistent inflation and rising
- 6:28defaults in private credit are concerning. In
- 6:33business news, Amazon has agreed to pay $2 .5
- 6:38billion to settle claims that misled prime customers
- 6:42into automatic enrollment and made cancellation
- 6:45difficult. The Federal Trade Commission announced
- 6:49the settlement during a trial over the lawsuit.
- 6:52which accused Amazon of using manipulative user
- 6:55interface designs. Amazon will provide up to
- 6:59$51 to eligible customers and pay a $1 billion
- 7:03civil penalty. The company must also simplify
- 7:07cancellation processes and create a website explaining
- 7:10the settlement. Despite the settlement, analysts
- 7:14believe Amazon Prime's benefits will continue
- 7:17to attract consumers. Amazon shares fell about
- 7:211 % following the announcement. In crypto movement,
- 7:26Bitcoin is up 2 % to about $114 ,000. Ethereum
- 7:33is up half a percent to just under $4 ,200. And
- 7:38XRP is unchanged at $2 .88. Moving on to a more

- 8:24to tell them Sunny Morning sent you by. And now,
- 8:29back to the show. Let's talk tech. In a recent
- 8:34comparison of navigation apps, Waze and Apple
- 8:37Maps were put to the test over 800 miles of driving.
- 8:41Both apps provide valuable features. but Apple
- 8:44Maps emerged as the top choice overall. While
- 8:48Waze offers a fun selection of voices, its interface
- 8:51can be distracting due to nearby users shown
- 8:54on the map itself. Apple Maps, with a cleaner
- 8:58interface, includes options for walking and biking,
- 9:02and its explicit directions are a standout feature.
- 9:06Additionally, Apple Maps allows users to download
- 9:10offline maps, which is crucial for areas with
- 9:13poor cell service. Ultimately, for reliability
- 9:17and clarity, Apple Maps takes the win. And in
- 9:23entertainment news, Keanu Reeves' and Alex Winter's
- 9:27production of Waiting for Godot is a stylish
- 9:31but shallow interpretation of Samuel Beckett's
- 9:34classic. While their onstage chemistry draws
- 9:37applause, the performance lacks depth and connection.
- 9:41Reeves portrays Estragon with a blend of childlike
- 9:44curiosity and weariness, while Winter's Vladimir
- 9:48feels stiffer and less skilled. The rush pacing
- 9:52hampers the dialogue's intended rhythm, overshadowing
- 9:56moments of silence that are essential to the
- 9:58play. Supporting characters like Pozzo and Lucky,
- 10:02offer compelling mastery of Beckett's prose,
- 10:06adding intrigue to the production. However, the
- 10:09overall experience remains aesthetically pleasing
- 10:12yet hollow. Well, all righty folks, it's time
- 10:16for the quote of the day. And today, our quote
- 10:20comes from the American philosopher and psychologist,
- 10:24William James. And he said, The greatest discovery
- 10:29of any generation is that a human being can alter
- 10:32his life by altering his attitudes. And that's
- 10:36a wrap for this morning. You can check out our
- 10:39Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for some captivating
- 10:44aerial videos with local news and the weather
- 10:47reports. Have an amazing day, my good friends.
