- @f1capper: All right, we're back Apex Insiders with the Barber, or I said Barber GP, Long Beach GP recap preview. I feel like I'm still stuck in Barber. Yeah, we got Nathan Rogers here. We are going to talk through ⁓ just what our thoughts were around the Long Beach GP and recap some of the markets, the bets. And as you're listening, you we have been seeing and. uptick in market offerings when, especially with Caesar's, they've been, it seems like, been a gem for us recently, especially for the past probably three races. And then we saw MGM actually come out and they've been a little bit more consistent as well. So yeah, let's first dive into the Long Beach GP and just get some of our thoughts out there. ⁓ I know just one thing. that I can't, and it probably was tweeted. I know Tony had tweeted it too. ⁓ He gave it like a D minus for a rating as a viewer. And I agree. Like I love Long Beach. think the setting's great. It's Long Beach. It's got history too. Obviously that's implied. But the race itself, the product itself, it's just not that appealing. ⁓ You know, we deal with this also with F1. There's a lot of races where like, ⁓ it's just kind of boring, but. Boring is good if you are betting, but boring is bad if you're just trying to enjoy the race. So I know for me, I agreed with him. It was a D minus. I don't know what you do to change it. I'm not trying to solve for that right now, but I just, in general, that was just one just instant like, yeah, it was kind of boring. So what were your thoughts? @iN8Rodgers: Unfortunately, I was gonna say that unfortunately your mind was probably still on barber because there just wasn't much action in Long Beach so And the end yeah, I feel the same I kind of like a little @f1capper: Yeah, I think that is true. @iN8Rodgers: you know, group to text with my friends during the race and you know, I was like, has there been like five passes? You know, and it turns out there was 70, which is like really bad. I mean that just, it was not a super entertaining race. sometimes, like you said, the street circuits are in specifically like Long Beach or maybe St. Pete could kind of just be that way. I mean, I am happy that IndyCar doesn't do too much to try to manufacture drama. and manufacture the racing. And so like you said, that that's going to happen sometimes. But the race just felt long. Like, I mean, they were on lap like 50 and I was kind of like done watching it. You know, I mean, I watched the rest of the way through. And you know, say sometimes that cautions can give a little bit of drama, but I think the caution that happened actually actually stole what drama we might have had ⁓ because Felix had, I think he was at a three second lead and it was going to be switching over to ⁓ where Palo was on his preferred tire and Felix was going to be coming off of the alternates, which was his preferred tire and I just wanted to see that play out because I think Palau would have had the pace. He showed that once he came out from the pit in that caution, had clearly had the pace to win. But since passing was so difficult, I think that would have been an interesting battle of. Think Felix could have held him off, you know, I don't think I can't say that for sure But with a such little passing out hard it was there was a good chance he did or you know I just wanted to see that play out and unfortunately didn't get to see that ⁓ It was a little interesting that There wasn't actually a preferred tire at the end of the race. It was kind car by car what you were feeling best, you know, under you. so that was kind of unique and something we won't be able to, you know, pull for for next year. But yeah, Honda dominated again. Pato was the top Chevy at fifth. And then there was, you know, Penske had some pace, but, know, when they are in clean air, but. you know, like New Garden tried that strategy of a three stopper. And so it's almost like when you're thinking, do they need to extend more laps so that you force a three stopper force a little more drama. But then I'm, you know, I just said that I was watching, I felt like this race was a little long. So it's like, I don't know what you do. @f1capper: Yeah, a lot of good things there and I kind of want to bring up first on the Felix Paloe battle. Yeah, like when watching it, the first stint, you saw, I think he was at one point in the first stint, Felix was up about close to two seconds and then all of a sudden you saw this just burst and he got within like eight tenths and that immediately. made me think, okay, so they are definitely really trying to take, they're one, trying to hit the number of like get to 30 laps with the alternates, fuel save. There's gotta be something they were doing with fuel save, not using, they weren't using as much push to pass because I think on, when it got to the second stint, saw Palo actually had about like 140 push to pass points left in that. But when I, it makes me beg to think like, What happened if that caution never came out? What would we have seen? Because now, I think they're both, we're gonna be on primaries. Is this now when Palo pushes? was Meyer Schenck just, their car pace was just superb. Felix had clean air too. He could take advantage and it was, like you said, gonna be hard. I don't know. I don't know what the answer is. I can hypothesize and say. to your point, I think Palo was just strategically doing what he needed to do to stay within two seconds. So then in the last 30 something laps, he's like, now I can go hard, I'm on the primaries and now I can push. So we don't know, but I did go back and try to look at the data leading up just raw pace like I did with Arlington. I loved Arlington GP when it came to the data because You basically saw the raw pace of everyone up until obviously the last three laps, which was basically over. So I did the same exercise and guess who was number one? Joseph Newgarden. And you know what happened? They wasted it on that three pit strategy. They should have never done that. But maybe that's also why they had the pure raw pace on that. he was number one. Number two, it was Palo. Palo just was beating out. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. @f1capper: Rosenquist, ⁓ but it also, I don't know, again, like we don't know what the primary performance was gonna be, et cetera. But yeah, just kinda going through the list, you had New Garden Pillow, Rosenquist, Kirkwood Award, Dixon, McLaughlin, like the Penske's looked fine, they looked okay. ⁓ The three-pitch strategy just was not, you wasted it. If you did three-pitch, you wasted it. ⁓ definitely interesting outcome. @iN8Rodgers: Yep. @f1capper: And, when I'm just, the biggest thing for me, what I was trying to learn from this is in years past, we saw Meyerschank be that team. Like they qualified well, but they would fall back. Last year, it didn't seem like they had such a big fallback in terms of their race pace, but it was still there. I came into the mentality this year, gotta fade them. They're not, they're gonna probably have that same. And actually I'm starting to now flip the table a little bit because that was real pace. They had real pace. Now, I am still gonna tread lightly because Felix did happen an opportunity, especially at a track like this, a little bit harder to pass in a lot of areas only in that front straight. What would his performance be like if he had to defend? If he has to now try to push to get ahead in situations? I don't know. But so far from what I've seen, think I'm not moving forward. I'm not going to just discount Felix, Meyerschank in their pace in the same way I used to. I think I have to take it a little bit more seriously moving forward, but I will still be cautious about it. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah, I was, I was impressed with him because I don't have the stats anymore at the top of my head, but I pulled it before. And any other time he's gotten pole, ⁓ it's, it's bad. It's like where he finishes it. It's like maybe 10th or worse or something, you know, and he's had better races in between that, but it's just kind of interesting stat of when he gets pole and how it unfolds. ⁓ I do think they were aided by, ⁓ the fact that the pit windows were so tight because everyone was doing that big fuel save. And when the pit windows are a little bigger, that's where it, @f1capper: Yeah, for sure. @iN8Rodgers: like, Polo and Dixon really just get to kill people is in the pit sequences of like Polo staying out an extra five laps or something and just drilling lap times that he shouldn't be able to drill at, you know, that late in the stint. And then, you know, of course his pit crew, which they showed just how amazing they are of getting him on front. And so that you Felix was able to just keep it at bay and that, yeah, I mean, I, feel for him, but I don't, I'd like, you know, we both said, I don't know if he would have won. I think he could have, but I would just have like, and him gotten the opportunity to, um, defend and, and see how it played out. Um, I know VK went for that three stop too. And he, he said afterwards that they were Showing that they would be p1 if no cautions came out. I don't know how that would have been I think they should probably fire the engineer that was projecting that because I'd Like New Garden shows you had the you could get the pace when you get the clean air on those three stops But then when it came to that middle part and he got stuck behind Armstrong, he got desperate Tried to make a move and then ruined his race And that's just you know It was crazy of how he was trending a second faster almost two seconds faster for a long time And he made up so much ground and then he finished right where he started ⁓ and even before his Race kind of unfolded he had moved up like one or two spots. So it did not work ⁓ But they did have pace they looked good in practice too as far as Penske, but ⁓ That just the Hondas I Hondas are just the premier engine right now, so it's, I don't think it, you know, it really matters what McLaren or Penske really try to do at a track like that. @f1capper: Yeah, and I think it was Honda versus Chevy at four and a half, right? It just hit four. So you got that one. You got that one on me. But it was interesting to see. And going back, I'm curious to see some other stats and whatnot to see. I actually like doing that now too, is trying to one, break down pure pace. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. @f1capper: before cautions, cautions always shake it up, people benefit from it. Because obviously we can't predict when cautions will happen, I think we're seeing less of it too when it comes to street courses, road courses just overall. So I'm just kind of trying to weed through that. So another thing I was just trying to see who is the beneficiaries of this? Well, number one, the guy we were backing for grid rival. last week at Barber were like, ⁓ know, he likes this track. Siegel, well, he did crappy. Well, and also Pato too, and look at how they performed. They actually really outperformed, ⁓ not so much Lundgaard, but Pato did. Siegel got up to P12. He got to P12. So he was definitely a beneficiary to that. Halger was to, and actually Rossi as well. Rossi was beneficiary to that as well. And ⁓ victims of it now. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. @f1capper: that Armstrong, don't know what, honestly, I didn't even go back to look. I don't know what happened on the, he went and pit like 12 laps later after the, so he ended up with three pits that lap. He was a victim. ⁓ Obviously we know what happened to Power. He had the unfortunate situation, whatever, call it a penalty. Just can't tell what happened to Lungard. I don't know. He had something happen towards his second stint. ⁓ or to his third stint and had to pit and then obviously Erickson he had the DNF so but Dixon Dixon was one guy I was pretty high on going and not to say like for a win or anything but just in general to have a good result and wow he got to P3 I was I was actually pretty shocked and that actually ended up being one of my bets ⁓ I ended up doing the group beat bet which was like @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. @f1capper: Dickson paired with Pato, Lungard, and Power. And it was four to one, he was the worst odds. And I said, that was crazy, like we've gotta be taking this at this point. And I hate doing groups too. I actually took two groups in this and the other one, yep, yep, was Paloe plus 140, but that was just because it's Paloe, I expected. And then Kirkwood was an interesting one. We should probably go focus our attention there. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. hit them both right? Yeah? @f1capper: Kirkwood didn't really have his dominant performance. ⁓ Andretti in general, like where we expected they were going to come in and dominate. had all these stats backing it and obviously they look superb in Arlington GP. Now, given Arlington GP margins were way different than Long Beach. Margins are much, much tighter in Long Beach. What happened with Kirkwood? @iN8Rodgers: Yeah, they just did not seem as strong. And the way the weekend started, Power was P1 and Practice 1, I think. And then Kirkwood, think, was P1 and Practice 2. But there was just something about they didn't seem to like. Like I think we were all kind of on the right track when we were thinking that the pillow was, going to get them, even though Kirk would have looked so good here in the past and, even her to, would always just practice sessions, qualifying, like just look so good. And they just weren't popping up on the, the lap diet. haven't looked closely into it, but they just kind of seemed like they were stuck where they were. ⁓ I don't know if that he had a hybrid issue. They had to replace the engines. I don't know if they lost just a lot of time as far as. you know, just that the work of replacing that and Erickson ended up having a hybrid issue too. I mean, he qualified way below what you would expect after qualifying second and first in the first two street courses. ⁓ And I think he was thinking back to that single car qualifying, which is like an interesting and fun thing, I think they have to look at when you have a tire that doesn't come in until the third lap. like the pole speed was like two miles per hour slower, I think, than last year because they were essentially doing their one lap when the tire wasn't perfectly in the window. And so I think it's really important to have that track position at Long Beach, like we said, with 70 passes or whatever. And it's just so hard to pass that Kirkwood was stuck there. And maybe if it wasn't single car qualifying and he was able to put it on pole, maybe he would have been able to kind of do the same thing Rose and Quist was due and just keep below behind him. @f1capper: Yeah, no, I and I also think there was something that had to do with the ⁓ The engine the hybrid issue that he had. don't know if that had any impact obviously I didn't really go back and check to see and they didn't make comments about it. They making excuses, but it's just ⁓ Maybe it's an anomaly. This is just it wasn't their weekend. I mean it happens at times You know, they in like I've said in the past, you know, yes, we have Palo, Kirkwood, who have been pretty dominant for the past year. We know Palo has been dominant for a while now, but it's hard, know, when you don't have the Penske's really showing up the way they normally do. And then you have McLaren the same way, like qualifying issues. They try to crawl back, but the field is still pretty tight in that top 10, right? Like it's still a very top 10 heavy kind of situation for a lot of these teams. So. ⁓ It'll be interesting to see how they recover at IMS, which is gonna be in a couple weeks. I believe a couple weeks. I can't remember exact date. And then, yeah, because now we don't have a street course for some time now. It's gonna be a little bit of time, so we'll. I'm very interested to see. I haven't done any research on my IMS stuff. I will say I have been knee deep into the data. I've found some good ways to extract the sector times and trying to just improve. ⁓ I won't say it's a model more so like just doing some, I guess some data exercise. Let's just call it that for now. And it's been working though. I mean, we've, seeing some, I'm seeing some good things from it. It's yielding some good results. I know that IndieBet, ⁓ Even though it didn't hit, I think that the value that we saw was like after practice sessions, hey, know, Paddle looked pretty strong. I mean, you could take his top three at five to one. Probably should have checked actually MGM to see what his top five was. I wish I had that number to go back because that would have been a good one to maybe strike on. But yeah. Let me one last person I We will number one to two last things Kiffin Simpson, I mean Did a pretty good job. I you know, I've been I've been fading him for for some time. He's just looked like crap and He's come in and he's he's really He had a he had a top ten performance, which was was pretty good for him and then RLL Ray Hall And actually Foster, I think Foster ended up what, P14? no, he dropped down to P16. ⁓ @iN8Rodgers: Yeah, he had a terrible last stint and so Yeah, that's just foster still not being able to kind of put together a full race. But, but, know, I like the data you were giving is just, you know, it's beyond what you can get from IndyCar anywhere else. So, you know, it's, it's a good start either way. And, and it's kind of shows that importance of like being able, you can change your mind during the weekend of like, we've been fading Kiffin Simpson. You would normally want to kind of fade Pato here, but you know, when you have that data, you can kind of trust it a little bit and see like, no, I think it's, it's legit. @f1capper: Yeah. @iN8Rodgers: ⁓ It wasn't just like a one lap thing or whatever and ⁓ you know the paddle like the paddle podium didn't work out like he said and and I tried to actually fade kiffin simpson on grid rival and you know his his pace was legit and my angle was more on the tires of how he he had the he was the least tire rich out of the the field and we've seen in multiple races this year where people who are lacking in tires they get burned up ⁓ happens to ecr a lot ⁓ but he was able to you know manage i haven't looked at @f1capper: Me too. @iN8Rodgers: which dent he did use used alternates on. think he was probably the only car that had to use alternates, but he was up there all race. I think he even got pushed back a little bit. I can't remember exactly what happened, but ⁓ yeah, great day from him. And he actually qualified really well at the NGGP last year before he had like an engine issue. So it'll be interesting to see if that was legit and if he can kind of carry some momentum. @f1capper: Yeah, and I think that just is a testament to Ganassi, you know, P1, P3, and P10. I'm still gonna go into the next race with, you did okay, you didn't, well, you did better than okay, but you did great. Now, let's see what you really can do at IMS, and again, I'm gonna be relying on the data a lot going into the weekend, so. But yeah, let's recap some of the bets. I know that you had quite a bit and I know we already, we talked about ⁓ the Chevy one that was a good hit for you. I know you didn't bet it, but it just was more of a you and I just kind of talking about it. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. Yeah, well actually I had put like real small like I think just 0.35 units on it early just to kind of have something before I knew all the the props. So I did get a little bit out of that but my big one of the weekend was the fastest lap which I put three units on. You know wish I would put 30 because I was pretty confident in it but And what was kind of cool is that I was working through that math last week and I didn't really need to do this, but I made a projection of what I thought the fastest lap would be. And I was only off by ⁓ like 0.2 miles per hour on the dot, even down to like the hundredth and thousandth place, which was just kind of wild. ⁓ That pretty much saved my day. was pretty ⁓ just break even on like, I had good profit on podium and top five with Will Power and Scott Dixon in the top five. ⁓ My only money on Palo was on podium. So I didn't have him to win. And so lost a little bit there. ⁓ Another good day in matchups three for five, I think Armstrong or no VK over Grosjean was the one that yeah. ⁓ was surprisingly better than he normally was here at ⁓ Long Beach. ⁓ My grid rival was kind of wild. think overall I went nine and four on the picks I had, but they were all just, it was like, I would go one and one, one and one. I had a four card that went three and one. And so I was actually, it was my first losing day in grid rival, even though I had hit on probably like 75 % of the picks I put in. But I saved my day with prize picks coming out and I threw a three card together real fast before the race started. @f1capper: Yep. Yeah. @iN8Rodgers: and hit that ⁓ for over a unit. ⁓ overall another 3.6 unit day that puts me at 24 over 24 units on the year so ⁓ it was kind of one of those races where like if willpower didn't get that penalty if Rosenquist held on if know a bunch of if if butts and hands you know going on but ⁓ still profit and I'll take that yeah @f1capper: You didn't lose, that's the best part. Didn't lose, we're still streaking. Yeah, mean, grid rival, feel like has been like that since I'm looking back at my chart. For some reason, my Arlington and Barber GP were kind of messed up. I have to go back and fix those. But yes, it was the same theme. After like the first week, I had Phoenix, like a lot of good combinations were just off one to one because I'm doing a lot of. which basically two cards. And then this week, same thing. I had the same situation. However, one of my bigger plays was actually I cooked that up with Fix the Step at the last second. was like, man, we gotta cook something up. Like there's something here we gotta cook. And Oh Word, we did an Oh Word over three and a half with Maluchus over five and a half. And I was like, that one just felt. So I ended up doing that with, I think it was .75 units and they gave me a promo code and I was like, cool, it gives you 20 % more profit. And that saved me because I think I had four, only four cards, only four cards this weekend. did, for grid rival that is, I'll get the price picks in a second. And that one saved me because all the others I did not. It was just one to one and then I hit that. So I ended up. @iN8Rodgers: Yes, yeah. @f1capper: 0.5 units of profit on grid arrival, but price picks, wow. Thank God you showed us your face. I couldn't tell you the last time. think maybe once last year, I think that's what it was then, yeah. But other than that, you don't really see price picks, you don't see underdog. And then I get the alert, ⁓ my God, we got IndyCar. was like, you're kidding me. So they do their scoring. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. Indy 500 they did. Yeah. @f1capper: by fantasy points, you have to look at it. ⁓ They do like 0.25 for Laps Lead and then a plus minus differential depending on like how many spots you overtake or did you get overtaken. I killed it with that. I was just like, these are the ones, like I just couldn't believe some of these numbers and then all I was saying that to in hindsight, I was like, man. Like I wanted to do Felix, but I was like, ⁓ he might get passed by Palo early. He loses a lap and it's a chalky number. Him alone, just on the lap sled, he would have hit his number easily. He could have been like P15, something like, he probably could have DNF'd and he would have hit that number too. I was just, I was upset that I was like, I had way more, I had more money on the table I could have had, but I was like, no, no, no, I'm gonna stick with these, but. I just couldn't believe that, so I ended up with like a seven unit day or something like that on prize pick. I was just throwing stuff out there. And I did one that was like, I'm gonna combine VK under his fantasy points, Ericsson under his fantasy points, Dixon over and Maluchis over. And actually Maluchis just barely squeaked by. If he got past one more, I would have lost that one. That was the big one. I think that was a four card where... @iN8Rodgers: Wow. @f1capper: It was like a $300 hit, so that was perfect. I was super, super happy about that. As far as my actual bets, I had power top five, did not work out, but again, we had a justification like, I don't know if I'm gonna see a top five number again. CLV was fine, and of course, who cares? He had his penalty. ⁓ Drivers to lead a lap, under five and a half, there was only four. I did do a live bet on Palo when it was starting to get towards that caution. I was like, all right, I'm going to get on Palo. So I got a quick unit on that. Unit is some change on that. then Palo group A, Dickson group B, big hits. That was beautiful. And I never play units on like one unit, two units on those things, but I did. VK Grosjean, easy. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. @f1capper: We love the Grosjean fade. ⁓ And then the one that was a stinker. I got lucky with Armstrong over Erickson because of Erickson's DNF. ⁓ But I always liked to Erickson. then Armstrong over Rossi. just did, you know, I know Rossi was a beneficiary to the caution, ⁓ but. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah, well, yeah. @f1capper: They were just neck and neck with each other. Armstrong was just right behind him, it was a plus 130 line, I didn't agree with it. And same with a few others that were like, no, why is it a plus 130? And I was like, we gotta take this. I did up it after I saw Fixed A Step was like, oh, I'm in this one. And he was like, I'm in this for, I don't know what he said, three or four units. And I was like, all right, I'll go two units on it. That kinda sucked. Otherwise, we ended up with a 4.54 units. beautiful past two races after like the St. Pete's was kind of a dud for me. in the Phoenix race, I only had one bet. I didn't really have much of an option. So now we've been streaking since Arlington GP. So I'm kind of trying to keep this momentum at least leading into the laundry list we're gonna get for Indy 500. I can't wait for that. We're gonna have so many options for that. So. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. @f1capper: We do have IMS though, I'm looking forward to IMS. It's one of my favorite tracks. I drive it a lot on iRacing, it's just so fun. It just flows well, it's really good. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. I think the margins will be so tight there that they've, you know, most of these drivers they've raced there more than they've raced anywhere else. you know, teams test there so much and so like every year just fluctuates besides Polo being dominant and RLL being really fast, you know. Penske was really fast last year, then the couple years before that, they've barely advanced in qualifying. And Dredi will do the same thing where they're back and forth. ⁓ Pado and Lundgaard have both been really good here, but once Lundgaard moved over to McLaren, he struggled. So it'll be interesting. ⁓ Sometimes it's an easy race to make a lot of money on, but sometimes you could get it really wrong. ⁓ @f1capper: Yeah. @iN8Rodgers: from what you think is gonna happen. But I love it too, especially it's here in Indy. ⁓ we make that little more of a family event with friends and they bring their kids and we kind of just post up on the mound of that first turn there and it's a fun day normally. @f1capper: Yeah, no, I'm jealous. I still want to go see an IMS and Indy 500, of course. But yeah, going into that race, now that we know that we're getting some of these props and we've seen the consistency in what types of props, ⁓ I am going to try to be a little bit more prepared before the markets start dropping. Number one, the props has been the key to trying to... you know, steer away from, you know, the possibilities of the drivers, right? Like matchups and top threes and stuff like that. Like the props is where we want to lean in on and where you want to lean in on because again, like you saw, we've been hitting on these props like crazy because we're finding, you know, when it comes to the speeds, the lapse led, that you're not worried to, yes, there are things that will impact it from a caution standpoint, but the data just feels more rich to be able to back. props than it is what can happen in the race, right? Like because DNFs happen, right? Those little things. So I am gonna try to be a little bit more prepared. I do now have a sense of the market. So my plan is to start looking at lap sled, ⁓ leaders, cautions, speed, know, the things that they're bringing out so we can have ourselves ready to go. because as we know what Caesars is doing is they'll drop it at any point and be like, here you go. And then you gotta be quick to the gun on that before they take it down. So, yeah. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah. It's like a fire drill sometimes, so like when I see those and I have to start kind of like crunching some numbers and looking at the history, like you get like maybe 30 minutes sometimes. @f1capper: And this is probably more of an advantage for you or anyone that has Caesar's access because me, I have to still try to phone those in and I'm like, well, it's gone because who knows where my guy is at. So at that moment. Yeah. @iN8Rodgers: Yeah, phoning it in is like that. The time in between you sending it for someone to place it and the time that it takes them to get it in, it's like... Yeah. ⁓ it's stressful. Yeah. @f1capper: I get a text later like, is it still available? Dude, no, it's gone. So, nah, that's all right. I mean, I know they will post it back up because it was kind of upsetting because I wanted to get in, because your fastest lap speed, it was correlating with that, I think 98 and a half average speed, which I did for Barber. Although it was much closer, the book had it much, much closer, this to go around than they did in Barbara. Barbara, they were way off. This one, they were definitely a little bit closer to the pin there with it. So I do want to be prepared for it. I will try to drive some insights as to historically, like what can we expect? And then of course, as the sessions go on, I'm going to keep just throwing in whatever data I can understand the sectors. ⁓ The only, biggest challenge I will say in this data stuff is tires. I need to find a better way to be able to track tires. For starters, just knowing what allocation we have going into the race, because then we can better predict what could potentially be their strategy. But what would be even better is just understanding from like as practice sessions go on, even qualifying, even though qualifying is a little bit more straightforward, they're gonna use alternates. on those primaries when they're practicing, like, was it new, was it used, did they go back on the used set? That's the kind of the challenge I'm having right now with IndyCar. They don't tell you that data. Formula One does that, and I love that. They even tell you how many laps they ran on that specific tire. You can always track that. So I'm trying to figure out a way to be better about that. Because if we can get that key, that will unlock a lot more for us. ⁓ Because tires are critical. @iN8Rodgers: And they have that data They have that data and they don't they just don't share because they'll they'll say it on the broadcast They'll be like, ⁓ he just laid down his fast lap of the day and it was surprising because he's on a 20 lap, you know set so it's They have it they they mentioned it but that we cannot and it would be so hard to to know @f1capper: They just nothing. Yeah. Yeah. You have to be, you can license it, but I'm not a big company to do that. You have to be like a pretty large company and you have to go through all the hoops to get that live access. So maybe one day, maybe one day Apex Insiders will be that big that we can just license that stuff. I don't know. So yeah. All right. Well, any last thoughts that you want to give for ⁓ the recap or IMS? @iN8Rodgers: shoot for. No, I mean, we'll have the 500 test, which won't give us a clear picture, but we'll learn a little bit. ⁓ I know that last year, Penske did their qualifying runs in like. full downforce and full like hiding their hand kind of bit. And then they showed that they were still the fastest team once practice and qualifying rolled around. So, but we learned that like Ray Hall was doing a little better, certain teams or so it'll be interesting. And it's always just fun to see the cars, know, go around the oval at IMS. So I'm excited for May to approach here and get, you know, kind of the best part of the season for me. @f1capper: Yeah, I feel like May is when we really, really kick off racing season. been ages since F1 and we'll get one race at the beginning of May finally. then, yeah, so we have IMS, Indy 500, Canadian GP. Obviously there's NASCAR. There's gonna be a lot. I'm looking forward to it as well. yeah. All right, we'll see you for our... @iN8Rodgers: Yeah, we'll be here. @f1capper: betting preview I guess in a couple weeks. @iN8Rodgers: Sounds good.
