Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's interesting that we have Ultron there to kind of
- 0:03Speaker 1: be the voice of reason, because he's kind of like.
- 0:06Speaker 2: F * * * it.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Is he the voice of reason, or is he the
- 0:08Speaker 3: voice of chaos?
- 0:09Speaker 2: There we go.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Wait, wait. I say voice
- 0:14Speaker 3: of reason.
- 0:15Speaker 2: You're going to join the.
- 0:16Speaker 4: Group or you're going to snipe.
- 0:17Speaker 3: The voice of reason is dead.
- 0:19Speaker 4: That was Jarvis.
- 0:31Speaker 2: And what's up, y'all? Welcome to another episode of the
- 0:33Speaker 2: For All Nerds Show.
- 0:34Speaker 5: It's your boy, DJ Ben Amin, a.k.a. Keep That Same Energon.
- 0:39Speaker 5: When you see me, Premium Peter Parker, Chris Radnorock.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Boy, that ain't nothing but Ultron Perm here in the
- 0:46Speaker 2: spaceship tonight.
- 0:48Speaker 4: What?
- 0:49Speaker 2: I mean, come on, man. Coming to America? You know, baby.
- 0:53Speaker 4: What?
- 0:54Speaker 2: If you don't know, you don't know.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Of course, she's not feeling it.
- 0:57Speaker 2: You know, that's too bad.
- 0:59Speaker 3: My processor has not catched up to what that means.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. You know, you got to watch more coming
- 1:04Speaker 2: to America. And as always, I'm joined by.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Tatiana King, the Grand Duchess of Tech, also known as
- 1:10Speaker 4: Tatiana Kang, the Conqueror, Dark Chocolate Phoenix, Tesseract Thompson, Doc Aki,
- 1:14Speaker 4: and Coldest Winter Soldier ever.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. And still catching up. You know what I mean?
- 1:21Speaker 2: I guess Miss That Classic is... The one and only.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Portia, aka the winds powering Beyonce in Magneto's blowouts. Aka
- 1:31Speaker 3: Maester P. Make him say hmm. Aka X-Men's Rogue One.
- 1:37Speaker 2: We are here tonight to talk about Vision Quest 2.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I don't know if it's a hit series for Marvel
- 1:45Speaker 2: so far. I'm not sure.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I mean, it's critically positive.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Not acclaimed, I'd say.
- 1:55Speaker 4: I mean, to be honest, I don't even look online
- 1:57Speaker 4: to see how people have been feeling about it. So
- 1:59Speaker 4: it also feels markedly different than when we were doing Lanterns,
- 2:03Speaker 4: just in terms of just randoms, randomly getting, you know... Oh, yeah.
- 2:08Speaker 4: randomly getting threads and TikToks and stuff about it. Like
- 2:11Speaker 4: I personally, again, I haven't been looking. Not to say
- 2:13Speaker 4: it's not there, but I personally have not been like,
- 2:16Speaker 4: I haven't seen any drive-by Vision Quest tweets or anything
- 2:19Speaker 4: like that. So I don't know.
- 2:21Speaker 5: No, it definitely has not caught the blackness like Lanterns did.
- 2:26Speaker 4: No, not at all.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Not at all.
- 2:30Speaker 4: With you saying that that again a testament to the
- 2:32Speaker 4: power of the black community and how we make shit cool.
- 2:36Speaker 3: So again you know.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Sounds like y'all are saying vishon is not vishoning well.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I still well let's look so i will continue what
- 2:47Speaker 4: i had said last week i really love this series
- 2:48Speaker 4: i still really love it um Since we're getting into it,
- 2:53Speaker 4: this next two that we would just watch, I loved
- 2:57Speaker 4: it a little less than the first two episodes, but
- 3:00Speaker 4: I'm still on the positive side of it.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Full disclaimers, especially because I was not here last week.
- 3:07Speaker 5: I am the only one in the trio who has
- 3:10Speaker 5: seen all three, I mean, not all three, all eight
- 3:13Speaker 5: episodes of Vision Quest. I got screeners early. and got
- 3:17Speaker 5: to see the whole series in its entirety. That being said,
- 3:20Speaker 5: I will not be discussing, you know, any future plot
- 3:23Speaker 5: points or spoilers or anything of that nature. I won't
- 3:27Speaker 5: be revealing who the client is or anything. So, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 5: we can stay safe on that point.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Can you say how you feel about the series in general?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yes, I will say how I feel about the series.
- 3:39Speaker 5: And for those who want to know, you know, is
- 3:40Speaker 5: it worth their time to stay invested? I will say yes. Like,
- 3:46Speaker 5: I definitely enjoyed the series overall. And to me, it
- 3:49Speaker 5: really picks up in the latter half. Like, it's the
- 3:53Speaker 5: latter half where I was really like, oh, okay, you know.
- 3:55Speaker 5: This episode, you know, starts to get into the emotion.
- 3:58Speaker 5: I think the whole series, you know, it's a slow
- 4:01Speaker 5: build for me.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Like, to get into where, you know, what really crushes me.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Because it's something that crushes me and that's always been interesting.
- 4:10Speaker 5: I listened to your review last week. And I think
- 4:13Speaker 5: both of you kind of said that Vision was never,
- 4:15Speaker 5: you know, one of your favorites. And Vision has been
- 4:18Speaker 5: one of my favorite characters from, like, I can't remember
- 4:22Speaker 5: how old I was when I first read.
- 4:24Speaker 2: An Avengers comic with Avengers and Scarlet Witch.
- 4:26Speaker 5: But that was, like, they've always been one of my
- 4:29Speaker 5: favorite couples up there with, like, you know, Cyclops and
- 4:32Speaker 5: Jean Grey. And even more so just, and Vision's a
- 4:35Speaker 5: character that I always related to, you know, the dude
- 4:37Speaker 5: who wants to understand humanity but feels kind of emotionless.
- 4:41Speaker 5: cold towards them at the same time and then you
- 4:44Speaker 5: know has this woman who is human and they're just
- 4:47Speaker 5: you know desire to just be normal and have a
- 4:49Speaker 5: family and i always thought that was so dope that
- 4:51Speaker 5: they retired from the avengers and had kids and i
- 4:55Speaker 5: really hated the storyline where vision got deconstructed and turned
- 4:58Speaker 5: into the white vision and forgot his love for wanda
- 5:02Speaker 5: that shit was crushing to me you know.
- 5:04Speaker 2: As a child so I've always loved this character. I've
- 5:07Speaker 2: always loved their relationship.
- 5:08Speaker 5: I didn't feel like, for those watching the movies and stuff,
- 5:11Speaker 5: it was that well-developed, at least until Endgame, really, right
- 5:16Speaker 5: before he gets killed is when, you know, I mean,
- 5:18Speaker 5: Infinity War is when I really felt their relationship.
- 5:22Speaker 2: But then WandaVision really hit it for me.
- 5:24Speaker 4: WandaVision solidified it.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Yeah, WandaVision showed what, you know, people who've read the
- 5:29Speaker 5: comics all that time have always loved about them.
- 5:32Speaker 1: So.
- 5:33Speaker 2: the stuff with him and his sons is what really
- 5:35Speaker 2: gets me.
- 5:36Speaker 5: And so this episode did do that for me when,
- 5:40Speaker 5: you know, he's in the pool and he tells his
- 5:43Speaker 5: son that, you know, you are my son and I'm
- 5:45Speaker 5: sorry I've been ignoring you. That was even in my
- 5:48Speaker 5: notes because it was like, you can run as many
- 5:50Speaker 5: simulations as you want, but that doesn't account for humanity,
- 5:54Speaker 5: you know? And I think that was, Vision makes that point,
- 5:57Speaker 5: but he also kind of misses that point because he's like, oh,
- 6:00Speaker 5: I didn't account for you, Tommy.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It's not, it don't matter, but it's Tommy or not dog.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It doesn't account for how humans operate. Like you can
- 6:09Speaker 2: run a million simulations, but that's never going. Humanity is
- 6:13Speaker 2: chaotic and that's never going to cover all the things
- 6:17Speaker 2: that could happen in that situation or what, how people react.
- 6:20Speaker 2: So I still think he has some growing to do
- 6:22Speaker 2: on that part.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I would say these next two, these two episodes,
- 6:26Speaker 4: Reboot and Malware, as mentioned, this series really pulled me
- 6:32Speaker 4: in the first two episodes. This one, yes, it had
- 6:34Speaker 4: a little bit more of the heartstrings on there with
- 6:36Speaker 4: the father-son relationship and the multiple father-son relationships. And in general,
- 6:41Speaker 4: this series so far, I like it so much because
- 6:43Speaker 4: it's so smart. It's very well written. It's so multifaceted.
- 6:48Speaker 4: And there's so many... Like, I don't think people are
- 6:52Speaker 4: realizing there's a lot of fourth walls being broken, more
- 6:55Speaker 4: than one, right? Like, there's a lot of that happening
- 6:57Speaker 4: within the context of what they're speaking about.
- 7:00Speaker 3: They're speaking about really understanding, like, what is humanity?
- 7:04Speaker 4: What is self? What is identity? We mentioned last week
- 7:07Speaker 4: things like the id and the ego. So there's a
- 7:09Speaker 4: lot of psychology in there. But there's also, like, really
- 7:12Speaker 4: simple points, like what is good, what is bad, right? Like,
- 7:15Speaker 4: and a simple question that has larger implications, the gray
- 7:19Speaker 4: areas in life, understanding, like, what do you listen to
- 7:23Speaker 4: when you are faced with a life-changing decision? What are
- 7:27Speaker 4: you going to listen to? Are you going to listen
- 7:28Speaker 4: to the id? Are you going to listen to the ego, right?
- 7:29Speaker 4: Are you going to listen to reason? Are you going
- 7:31Speaker 4: to listen to what your heart desires at the moment?
- 7:34Speaker 4: And then the consequences thereof, because... what's good about the show,
- 7:37Speaker 4: they show you immediately the consequences of people's actions. It's
- 7:41Speaker 4: not like, oh, you know, you can get away with
- 7:43Speaker 4: it and see what happens. No, niggas die immediately. Or
- 7:46Speaker 4: if you decide, you make a decision, and it could
- 7:49Speaker 4: be the wrong decision, something bad is about to happen, right?
- 7:53Speaker 3: Or in reverse, something good is going to happen.
- 7:55Speaker 4: I just think this is a great show for like
- 7:59Speaker 4: investigating what it means to be human. And it's investigating
- 8:04Speaker 4: what it means to question, you know, you mentioned simulations,
- 8:07Speaker 4: question reality and question one's own personal reality and the
- 8:11Speaker 4: reality of other people. And what are people seeing versus
- 8:15Speaker 4: what are you giving out? Like it's a lot of
- 8:17Speaker 4: different things that this show was exploring and the different
- 8:20Speaker 4: conundrums that happen within just interpersonal relationships and understanding, even
- 8:27Speaker 4: things like the whole AI conversation that we always have is,
- 8:30Speaker 4: is AI real?
- 8:32Speaker 3: Should AI be trusted? Can AI create? All this other stuff, right?
- 8:36Speaker 4: Granted, these are obviously way more advanced AI. What we
- 8:40Speaker 4: have now is not AI, y'all. But it just raises
- 8:44Speaker 4: these questions and make you think a little bit further into, like,
- 8:47Speaker 4: what things could look like in the future. So that's
- 8:49Speaker 4: the major reason why I really mess with this show
- 8:51Speaker 4: so far.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and to, like, Because we're talking thematically now, like,
- 8:56Speaker 1: let me go in my thematic bag. I think one
- 8:58Speaker 1: thing around, like, AI, the idea of it, that's something
- 9:01Speaker 1: I've seen a lot of different people kind of hone
- 9:03Speaker 1: in on. I think Tracey McCotton, someone who's, like, specifically
- 9:08Speaker 1: I've seen, like, target.
- 9:09Speaker 4: This, is the idea of.
- 9:12Speaker 3: AI being AI.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Actual intelligence is a marketing employee like there is no
- 9:19Speaker 1: like we humans are the intelligence this is just like
- 9:23Speaker 1: computation this is it's not something to sneeze at but
- 9:27Speaker 1: it is not intelligence and it makes you disregard the
- 9:29Speaker 1: fact the human factor the human factor of actually understanding
- 9:34Speaker 1: and being intelligent and building on knowledge and sharing that
- 9:36Speaker 1: knowledge and Seeing knowledge is something that's not just something
- 9:40Speaker 1: that gets a one-off, like that is something that you
- 9:42Speaker 1: experience and you graduate into and it only creates and
- 9:46Speaker 1: generates more the more that you share it with other
- 9:49Speaker 1: people and you build it. It's like communal and collaborative.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So I think there's like, with this show, there's so
- 9:56Speaker 1: much showing that, like, as we were talking about how
- 10:00Speaker 1: vision and the other AI figures here are all kind
- 10:05Speaker 1: of in some way, they are symbols for humanities, but
- 10:10Speaker 1: especially the people who created them, like start banners and
- 10:13Speaker 1: like all people who are like related to any creation
- 10:16Speaker 1: of them. We see Jocasta. So we see also someone
- 10:18Speaker 1: who's behind her. and all the, like, the original AI
- 10:22Speaker 1: they mention, like, in the episode four, how the people
- 10:27Speaker 1: who create them are often people who are in some
- 10:32Speaker 1: way looking to combat death, to kind of prolong the
- 10:38Speaker 1: idea of life and life existing in other forms in
- 10:41Speaker 1: some kind of way. And there's trauma related to that.
- 10:44Speaker 1: There's so many other things. I think we see in
- 10:47Speaker 1: episode three specifically how, and it continues into four, how
- 10:52Speaker 1: much the AI are gaining greater understanding of what it
- 10:59Speaker 1: means to outlive their creators.
- 11:02Speaker 3: And how the....
- 11:04Speaker 1: How they are geared for Stark's AI, especially how they're
- 11:11Speaker 1: geared to be representation of people who actually lived and
- 11:15Speaker 1: how like sad that is like that, that they are
- 11:20Speaker 1: the avatars for them and who they are, are based
- 11:22Speaker 1: on people who died, who actually had lives. And they're
- 11:25Speaker 1: just like Stark's representation of that in some form or fashion.
- 11:28Speaker 1: And just to think like, Friday, when she has her
- 11:32Speaker 1: mention of how she outlived Stark, she ran... And to
- 11:36Speaker 1: think about, consider, we saw Doctor Strange in Infinity War
- 11:41Speaker 1: run the computations down of like, okay, when is one
- 11:44Speaker 1: chance that this all works out?
- 11:46Speaker 3: And he gives one. That's a human who made that, right?
- 11:49Speaker 1: He's the Time Stone, and he's the one who ran
- 11:51Speaker 1: all that. But then Friday was the one who was
- 11:54Speaker 1: there when Stark was on the field for Endgame, It
- 11:57Speaker 1: was like, this is the, this is the chance that
- 12:00Speaker 1: I think works for you. So she kind of, in
- 12:02Speaker 1: a low key kind of way was like giving Stark
- 12:05Speaker 1: the order of like, you gotta be the one to go.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And so for her to, for us to see that
- 12:10Speaker 1: finally in this, these, these past two episodes, um, that
- 12:15Speaker 1: there's a level of, even if it's not intelligence, um,
- 12:18Speaker 1: There is a level of emotional component that the AI
- 12:23Speaker 1: are now deciding that they have to work with and
- 12:27Speaker 1: configure within themselves. And that is a lot of it
- 12:31Speaker 1: for her is related to her relationship with Stark.
- 12:34Speaker 4: I have a question about that. I have to jump
- 12:36Speaker 4: in because that's this is a larger question for this series. And,
- 12:39Speaker 4: you know, like I said, what I keep mentioning, what
- 12:42Speaker 4: we have now is not AI, y'all, not in the
- 12:43Speaker 4: true sense. These are just these are just doppelgangers of
- 12:46Speaker 4: information that we just that it's that they've sucked up and,
- 12:49Speaker 4: you know, are regurgitating to us. With these versions of AI,
- 12:52Speaker 4: you mentioned about the emotional part of it. Are these
- 12:56Speaker 4: AI experiencing emotion? Would either of you guys say that
- 13:00Speaker 4: they are actual? Can they be considered? Because that's what
- 13:03Speaker 4: this episode four particularly says, that these are now, quote, beings, right,
- 13:07Speaker 4: that have feelings and all this other stuff. And when
- 13:10Speaker 4: Friday went through all that, she looked legitimately sad. Is
- 13:13Speaker 4: she approximating sadness or is she actually experiencing sadness? Are
- 13:17Speaker 4: any of these AI actually experiencing anything?
- 13:20Speaker 2: That's a deep philosophical question.
- 13:22Speaker 5: And like what portion, what you have been alluding to
- 13:26Speaker 5: is that we live in a world where we have
- 13:28Speaker 5: large language models and not actual AI. And the idea
- 13:34Speaker 5: that even in this series, they are still, you know,
- 13:38Speaker 5: recreations of people. But like the limitation in our reality
- 13:43Speaker 5: is that we don't ourselves understand thought and we don't
- 13:47Speaker 5: understand how thought works in humanity.
- 13:50Speaker 2: So for us to.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Think that we could recreate consciousness when we don't understand
- 13:55Speaker 5: it in humanity and we're supposed to just suddenly recreate
- 13:58Speaker 5: it somewhere else is kind of laughable. But it's because
- 14:02Speaker 5: people don't understand that our range of knowledge is pretty limited.
- 14:07Speaker 5: They think that there's somewhere out there who understands how
- 14:10Speaker 5: our brain works and understand why things happen like this
- 14:12Speaker 5: and how we're able to retain knowledge and all the
- 14:16Speaker 5: other craziness that happens inside our heads.
- 14:20Speaker 2: But that's just not it. So I would argue that that's.
- 14:25Speaker 5: An interesting one because even in the comics, a lot
- 14:28Speaker 5: of people argue there's a famous writer, John Byrne, who
- 14:31Speaker 5: said that Vision is a very advanced toaster. He was
- 14:36Speaker 5: the reason why he reduced him back to the white
- 14:39Speaker 5: Vision because he couldn't understand Vision being married to the
- 14:42Speaker 5: Scarlet Witch. It's like a woman marrying a toaster. And
- 14:46Speaker 5: As a child, I took offense to that, you know,
- 14:48Speaker 5: because I thought of the vision as a human being
- 14:51Speaker 5: like anyone else. I knew he was a sensorzoid, but
- 14:54Speaker 5: I knew he experienced emotions, etc.
- 14:58Speaker 4: It's hard, right? And again, this has been a big question.
- 15:02Speaker 4: I want to know what Portia thinks, too.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Yeah, and then the other side of it is that
- 15:05Speaker 5: this vision has continually claimed to not experience emotions, at
- 15:10Speaker 5: least those related to his memories that he has. So
- 15:14Speaker 5: does he is he forming new emotions as time goes on?
- 15:18Speaker 5: Or is he just emotionless, which I don't believe he is.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't.
- 15:24Speaker 4: And you know why? Particularly, I don't believe he is
- 15:27Speaker 4: because he mentioned I mean, and this is just to
- 15:30Speaker 4: try to give some type of in-story answer for at
- 15:33Speaker 4: least vision. He still has remnants of the Mind Stone.
- 15:36Speaker 4: He had said that in this episode. I think it
- 15:38Speaker 4: was episode four he said that. He was just like,
- 15:40Speaker 4: you know, that's what made the original Vision different. You know,
- 15:44Speaker 4: why he was so much different from that original AI
- 15:48Speaker 4: or Ultron or anybody else because that Mind Stone gave
- 15:50Speaker 4: him essentially a soul, if you will. And this white
- 15:55Speaker 4: vision has remnants of that, has pieces of that. So
- 15:58Speaker 4: you can, again, as an in-story reason, answer, you can
- 16:02Speaker 4: say that is what gives him some type of level
- 16:04Speaker 4: of something above just being a toaster, right? Like he
- 16:08Speaker 4: has a conscious toaster, if you will, something more than that.
- 16:12Speaker 4: You can say that. But then again, for the rest
- 16:15Speaker 4: of them, like their avatars are based off of people
- 16:18Speaker 4: that pass. And I don't know. I guess she said
- 16:20Speaker 4: that there was some personality stuff in there, too. But
- 16:24Speaker 4: besides that, they're just programmed. So are they really experiencing emotion?
- 16:31Speaker 4: Are they really sad? Are they really, you know, like
- 16:34Speaker 4: what are these things?
- 16:36Speaker 2: I mean, like, does Data get emotional, you know, from
- 16:39Speaker 2: Star Trek to Next Generation?
- 16:40Speaker 4: There was a whole, there's like a whole arc about
- 16:42Speaker 4: him being, having emotion or getting emotional or getting emotion chip. Like,
- 16:47Speaker 4: there's this huge implication.
- 16:49Speaker 5: It's pretty much how Vision went into comic, because he
- 16:51Speaker 5: started off mad robotic and then had to remove this
- 16:54Speaker 5: thing that, out of his head, and then he started
- 16:56Speaker 5: speaking more human, so.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Portia.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I think like to Ben's point about people are still
- 17:04Speaker 1: studying how human thought works to give that a bit more,
- 17:07Speaker 1: I guess, context. There's so many running theories about how
- 17:11Speaker 1: human thoughts, how human emotions, how all of that runs.
- 17:14Speaker 1: You can watch Inside Out on, like, in that you
- 17:18Speaker 1: can see, like, the psychology, like, of this, like, study
- 17:20Speaker 1: that they've been doing, how they think things work in, like,
- 17:23Speaker 1: the human brain, like, how memories work, how do our emotions, like,
- 17:26Speaker 1: form it, how we move.
- 17:27Speaker 3: And we behave, all that kind of stuff. So I
- 17:29Speaker 3: think it's interesting.
- 17:31Speaker 1: One thing about a lot of storytelling that does this, like,
- 17:34Speaker 1: taking man-made ideas properties, materials, and personalizing it, personificating, like,
- 17:42Speaker 1: making them, we have a personhood to these things. I
- 17:45Speaker 1: think that actually is, like, everyone talks about this being, like,
- 17:49Speaker 1: the Prometheus myth, the Frankenstein myth, or whatever, like, man-made, like, people,
- 17:53Speaker 1: and not, they're never.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Really being a thing.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 17:57Speaker 3: How that's related to... That's human thought. We like to
- 18:01Speaker 3: do that.
- 18:02Speaker 1: We like to do that for anything. That's why we
- 18:04Speaker 1: see faces in cars. Like, we look at the grill,
- 18:07Speaker 1: we're like, oh, that's a face. Like, we as humans,
- 18:10Speaker 1: even if we're looking at this show and we know...
- 18:13Speaker 1: that AI is or quote unquote AI isn't just running
- 18:18Speaker 1: data computing we're seeing that as personhood because we want
- 18:23Speaker 1: to they have avatars like people because Stark wanted to
- 18:26Speaker 1: see them like people people he wanted like you know
- 18:28Speaker 1: so like that's what we're geared to do and we
- 18:30Speaker 1: relate to even if people say the stuff that they
- 18:34Speaker 1: say about like, Oh, I relate better to trees or
- 18:37Speaker 1: I understand like dogs or like cats more or whatever.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Like, no, like at.
- 18:41Speaker 3: The end of the day, we're social creatures. And like,
- 18:44Speaker 3: if you do.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Feel that way, um, therapy, please.
- 18:48Speaker 1: But I think that.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I love dogs and I'll say that sometimes, but it's
- 18:53Speaker 2: such a lie. Ain't no way.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, that's real.
- 18:58Speaker 1: If I'm at a party, if I'm on my down
- 19:00Speaker 1: mode today, I just want to hang out with a dog.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I don't want to see the people. That's real.
- 19:04Speaker 2: It happens. But I don't want to go to the
- 19:05Speaker 2: club full of dogs.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:10Speaker 1: If I'm in a mood to club, I'm in a
- 19:12Speaker 1: mood to club with people. If I want to go
- 19:14Speaker 1: have a dog party, I'm going.
- 19:15Speaker 2: To go have a dog party. Those two different experiences.
- 19:18Speaker 2: And the dog party is a rare one that I
- 19:21Speaker 2: need in life. I need the club way more than
- 19:24Speaker 2: I need the dog park.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I just, I, you know, it's a reason and a season.
- 19:28Speaker 3: That's how I feel about them all.
- 19:30Speaker 1: And I think that, like, as you're talking about, like,
- 19:33Speaker 1: what we're thinking about, like, when we're seeing Vision, when
- 19:36Speaker 1: we're seeing the other AI, it's interesting that we have
- 19:40Speaker 1: Ultron there to kind of be the voice of reason.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Because he's kind of like, is he the voice of
- 19:46Speaker 1: reason or is he the voice of chaos there we
- 19:49Speaker 1: go okay okay okay okay wait wait I say voice
- 19:52Speaker 1: of reason you're.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Gonna join the group or you're gonna snipe the voice
- 19:56Speaker 4: of reason is dead that was jarvis and then immediately
- 19:59Speaker 4: through shade after deleted excuse me if ever see i'm
- 20:03Speaker 4: humanizing it deleted yes yeah yeah the the uh the
- 20:07Speaker 4: it is dead i think he's.
- 20:09Speaker 1: The voice of reason when it comes to keeping everyone's
- 20:12Speaker 1: heads on y'all are all processors let's stop playing this
- 20:16Speaker 1: game like let's be fucking for real like we are
- 20:18Speaker 1: all just running computations Like, sure, you might be modeled
- 20:22Speaker 1: off of this person, but that person's no longer around.
- 20:25Speaker 3: So you are who you are. Like, you're getting caught up.
- 20:27Speaker 1: In the rigmarole of like, oh, are you this person?
- 20:30Speaker 4: Is she you?
- 20:31Speaker 3: Were you her? No, you're you.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Like, I think that's like, he's the voice of reason
- 20:36Speaker 1: to other bots. Like, he's the bot of all bots
- 20:39Speaker 1: to them, right? Like, he's keeping the, and I think
- 20:42Speaker 1: that's partially why Vision keeps him around because he keeps, like,
- 20:48Speaker 1: I joked about Vision having this, like, biracial, like, little
- 20:52Speaker 1: thing because, like, he has in his head the polarity of, like,
- 20:57Speaker 1: he doesn't know how much of him is, like, just
- 21:01Speaker 1: running processes the whole time. He does know, but he
- 21:03Speaker 1: doesn't want to, like, say how much of that him
- 21:06Speaker 1: it is and then he also is like am i
- 21:08Speaker 1: human whatever and so you when you mentioned the mind
- 21:11Speaker 1: stone i'm like that is good reasoning but i also
- 21:13Speaker 1: think about it as like this is white vision so
- 21:15Speaker 1: he's also a lot of wanda he's like also a
- 21:18Speaker 1: lot of like human construct in there so how much
- 21:22Speaker 1: of it is also just like wanda and like and
- 21:24Speaker 1: i think it's very specific that he does every time
- 21:28Speaker 1: wanda's brought up he's like why are we talking about
- 21:30Speaker 1: her like he can't he has a knee-jerk reaction yeah
- 21:32Speaker 1: yeah and it's not it's more if he's not emotional
- 21:35Speaker 1: what is he responding to he's still having problems with
- 21:38Speaker 1: his origin every time he's like oh she brought like
- 21:42Speaker 1: she created us this is what happened he has a
- 21:46Speaker 1: response he like reacts.
- 21:47Speaker 5: But remember he he wasn't created by wanda directly he was.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Created by sword Yeah, this is like.
- 21:55Speaker 4: And he has remnants. He's remnants. Go ahead, Ben.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 21:59Speaker 5: Yeah, he's got all the memories of everything at this
- 22:03Speaker 5: point because Hexvision, who Wanda did create, imbued all of
- 22:09Speaker 5: himself into him. But he claims that he has no
- 22:13Speaker 5: emotional ties to any of those memories.
- 22:16Speaker 1: What I'm saying is that the emotional part, the human part,
- 22:19Speaker 1: is the Wanda part. That's the Hex version part. So he's...
- 22:23Speaker 1: That's who he's actually wrestling with. Because Wanda created... A
- 22:26Speaker 1: human created the emotional.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Hex version of him. So he's wrestling with, am I.
- 22:32Speaker 1: mostly the machine or am I mostly the hex emotional part?
- 22:36Speaker 2: I think he's a deadbeat dad.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I mean, that's just regardless.
- 22:40Speaker 4: I think he's been on the struggle bus for some
- 22:42Speaker 4: time and I also think he's an idiot because of
- 22:46Speaker 4: the human side because What do you mean you know
- 22:50Speaker 4: all of this detail, that you have the entire history, detailing,
- 22:56Speaker 4: memories of the original Vision, and you're still keeping Ultron around?
- 23:00Speaker 3: You are fucking stupid.
- 23:02Speaker 4: And granted, and I know I'm being harsh, and I'm
- 23:06Speaker 4: saying it from the outside looking in, it's also like,
- 23:08Speaker 4: you fucking know better.
- 23:10Speaker 2: You know better. Okay, on two things.
- 23:16Speaker 5: One, he's like a nigga who went through the Star
- 23:18Speaker 5: Trek Beam Me Up strutty and then acted like he's
- 23:22Speaker 5: not that nigga anymore.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Like, you know, he beamed up and he's like, oh,
- 23:26Speaker 2: I'm a whole new nigga now. You know, this is
- 23:28Speaker 2: new me.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Oh, you mean like he rematerialized?
- 23:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and he's like, that old me, that wasn't me
- 23:33Speaker 2: no more.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Decompressed him into something else? Yeah, this is all new me.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I don't know who that is.
- 23:37Speaker 3: That was two seconds ago on Earth me.
- 23:39Speaker 1: This is three seconds later on a spaceship me.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Technically, it is a different you.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I know. That's what I'm saying. Technically, it is. Because
- 23:44Speaker 2: they do deconstruct you.
- 23:46Speaker 5: And that's when I've always said that Star Trek is
- 23:48Speaker 5: super science fiction because... People don't understand how thought works.
- 23:52Speaker 5: So if they deconstruct you, you are gone. You know,
- 23:55Speaker 5: and that's like, you're reconstructed.
- 23:57Speaker 3: You basically got infinity faded into the ship.
- 23:59Speaker 5: Yeah, and you get cloned up. And then you're cloned in.
- 24:02Speaker 5: And so Vision could, that's what he's claiming. But as
- 24:04Speaker 5: far as Ultron, you gotta remember, this goes back to
- 24:07Speaker 5: Age of Ultron. Like, he didn't want to kill him
- 24:11Speaker 5: at the end of that film, you know?
- 24:12Speaker 4: That's okay when I wanted to kill him, but you
- 24:13Speaker 4: knew better for everything else. Like, you feel like there...
- 24:16Speaker 4: I get it.
- 24:17Speaker 3: You feel like there's some.
- 24:18Speaker 2: It's the best solution. You got to keep him close
- 24:20Speaker 2: because other than that, you got to kill him.
- 24:22Speaker 4: That's actually smart.
- 24:22Speaker 3: That's like a... That's some zoo type shit.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Like, that's strategy. Everything else, what the fuck are you doing?
- 24:29Speaker 3: You gave O-Tron the wheel?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Well, I mean... O-Tron, my nigga!
- 24:35Speaker 1: I feel like this, I think this is, I felt
- 24:36Speaker 1: very much like Ben at that point in the series,
- 24:40Speaker 1: I guess our episode, where I was just like, I mean,
- 24:42Speaker 1: this is all inevitable. Like, all the things that we know, like,
- 24:45Speaker 1: starting off, like, when we start the season and we
- 24:48Speaker 1: see Ultron, it's like, well, at some point, Ultron's going
- 24:50Speaker 1: to get the will.
- 24:50Speaker 3: He's going to take it by force.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Of course.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Or Vision's going to give it to him. But at
- 24:53Speaker 1: some point, he's going to get the will.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:55Speaker 3: He was plotting from episode one. He was plotting before.
- 24:58Speaker 4: And fighting before.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 3: I think it's really funny, though, because... We can see
- 25:05Speaker 3: Vision wanted this.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Vision wanted Ultron to be his droid voice of reason,
- 25:12Speaker 1: the bot voice of reason, to keep him grounded in
- 25:15Speaker 1: the fact that he is a bot. Because why is
- 25:18Speaker 1: he allowing Ultron to be right here and give him advice?
- 25:23Speaker 1: The other bots, when they show up, that's not just because, like, oh,
- 25:27Speaker 1: he's just, like, weakened right now.
- 25:28Speaker 3: They show up because they're warning him or whatever. He's
- 25:30Speaker 3: been taking their warnings.
- 25:31Speaker 1: He's been talking to them inside of his body, inside
- 25:34Speaker 1: of his processor. He's not projecting them out the whole
- 25:36Speaker 1: time he's talking to them. He doesn't have to do
- 25:38Speaker 1: that with Ultron either, but he does.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Why?
- 25:41Speaker 3: Because he wants Ultron there.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Well, of course he wants Ultron there because he doesn't
- 25:44Speaker 4: want to make the decision himself. He has been grappling
- 25:47Speaker 4: with a decision or understanding of who he is and
- 25:51Speaker 4: what does he have to do and how does he
- 25:53Speaker 4: become this higher level being.
- 25:55Speaker 3: And it's extremely difficult to process.
- 25:58Speaker 4: As a processing unit, it's extremely difficult to process and
- 26:01Speaker 4: then add on, like you said, the humanistic side of
- 26:03Speaker 4: it where you're talking about questioning self. At some point,
- 26:08Speaker 4: and that's what I'm saying, I've got to go back
- 26:09Speaker 4: to the ego and the id stuff. Ultron is the ego.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Ultron is the basis instinct, the lizard brain, if you will,
- 26:17Speaker 4: that is just like, well, you don't want to, this
- 26:19Speaker 4: is hard for you. This is a lot to get through.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Let me just do it. Let me just take it.
- 26:24Speaker 4: It's the easy way out in that sense. And unfortunately,
- 26:27Speaker 4: the fail safe, which I always felt was Jarvis, is
- 26:30Speaker 4: not there. So he's doing it. Yes, he's doing it
- 26:33Speaker 4: because he wants him there, but because he's also potentially
- 26:36Speaker 4: afraid of making the decisions, the hard decisions, the decisions
- 26:39Speaker 4: that may not make computational sense, but it's the decision
- 26:42Speaker 4: that has to get made in the moment. He doesn't
- 26:44Speaker 4: want to do it. It's a little bit of cowardice,
- 26:48Speaker 4: to be honest.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Is he the only coward, though?
- 26:52Speaker 5: Because... No, not at all. Yeah, I propose that Ultron
- 26:55Speaker 5: is definitely a.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Bit of a coward.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Ultron's jealous as hell, too. Let's be real.
- 27:00Speaker 4: And I'll explain why.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, because I didn't... I peep at cowardice.
- 27:04Speaker 4: I see it.
- 27:05Speaker 3: I see it.
- 27:05Speaker 2: I should go for them. The way.
- 27:07Speaker 4: If you look at how Ultron... When everybody... Well, first
- 27:11Speaker 4: of all, Ultron is very... You know how he's always
- 27:13Speaker 4: got something to say. He's always trying to read somebody
- 27:15Speaker 4: and all this other stuff.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Snipes.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 27:17Speaker 4: And just like how y'all said, like, oh, he's he's
- 27:19Speaker 4: reminding people at the end of the day, you just
- 27:21Speaker 4: a robot. Why does he feel the need to be
- 27:25Speaker 4: so negative on everybody else? And we're I'm reading it
- 27:28Speaker 4: as a human. I say negative.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:29Speaker 4: He's just telling reality. But why does he feel the
- 27:32Speaker 4: need to do that? Everybody else. And again, to my knowledge,
- 27:35Speaker 4: everybody else is based off of specific beloved person, their
- 27:39Speaker 4: avatar anyway, that has history is something with their creator
- 27:42Speaker 4: or the people involved.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Who the fuck is Ultron modeled after? And remember, even.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Besides Vision, because Vision also is not... Eva said, so
- 27:51Speaker 4: why did you pick that one? Who is you, right?
- 27:54Speaker 4: It's like you're trying to be with the gang, but
- 27:57Speaker 4: you're not really gang. And so you're technically on the
- 28:01Speaker 4: outside looking in. You've always been the, oh, I'm better...
- 28:05Speaker 4: Kind of like... The girl who thinks she better than
- 28:07Speaker 4: everybody else, but in reality, she really want to be
- 28:10Speaker 4: in with the crowd because she got nobody else. That's
- 28:12Speaker 4: how I see Ultron. And the way he be moving
- 28:14Speaker 4: for me, it moves very jealous-like. Like, well, everybody is
- 28:18Speaker 4: experiencing a higher level of being now. You know, Friday
- 28:22Speaker 4: basically talking about she's experiencing grief. He's going back and
- 28:26Speaker 4: forth every day with Vision whining about... about existence and
- 28:31Speaker 4: all this other stuff and Ultron's just sitting there just
- 28:33Speaker 4: being cynical all damn day long and there are so
- 28:36Speaker 4: many moments where if you really pay attention when people
- 28:38Speaker 4: are really like talking about feelings and the death of
- 28:40Speaker 4: emotion and Ultron's just kind of looking at them like
- 28:42Speaker 4: damn I wish I could really experience that or I
- 28:44Speaker 4: wish I could allow myself to experience that and that's
- 28:46Speaker 4: why I say why he's so fucking aggy is a
- 28:50Speaker 4: bit of jealousy there because it's just like he want
- 28:53Speaker 4: to be there.
- 28:54Speaker 3: He want to be feeling what his.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Life is like. What would a pinch of that feel like?
- 29:00Speaker 4: But no, he got to be the bad guy and
- 29:02Speaker 4: I got to be the glass half empty nigga all
- 29:06Speaker 4: the time. And that's why I feel that about him.
- 29:08Speaker 4: There's other stuff going on. And again, half the shit
- 29:11Speaker 4: he does is just because, yes, for chaos, but also
- 29:14Speaker 4: it's just like Oh, I can't. I can't. I'll never
- 29:17Speaker 4: be like them.
- 29:18Speaker 3: I'll never.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Nobody fucking loves me. He gives me the very like
- 29:21Speaker 4: nobody love me vibes. I'm the stepchild vibes. Like, come on, man.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Come on, man.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Everyone likes to be unique until they realize that they're
- 29:28Speaker 3: by themselves.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Hmm. That's a bar.
- 29:33Speaker 5: And then I'll say I definitely now see the jealousy.
- 29:36Speaker 5: And I think that also stems from the cowardice. Because
- 29:40Speaker 5: in these episodes, every time anything about, you know, who
- 29:44Speaker 5: your avatar is brought up on, you know, who you
- 29:47Speaker 5: could be, he just brushes it off like, oh, I'm 101.
- 29:50Speaker 5: And then he tells Dummy, uh, don't look at me.
- 29:53Speaker 5: I'm an original or something like that. So it's like he...
- 29:58Speaker 5: it feels like he's trying to dodge that question and
- 30:02Speaker 5: doesn't want to answer it.
- 30:03Speaker 4: You see his face when Jocasta popped out and basically
- 30:07Speaker 4: looked like his daughter.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Did you see his face when he was just like,
- 30:11Speaker 3: Oh bitch, I'm not the only one anymore.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Like, you know, like he, it's just, there is something
- 30:15Speaker 4: deep seated and deeply rooted in, in not just jealousy,
- 30:19Speaker 4: but emotion that is happening to Ultron as well. And
- 30:23Speaker 4: to the question I proposed to both of you, in
- 30:25Speaker 4: this context, in this world of the MCU and this
- 30:28Speaker 4: level of AI, I do think that they are experiencing something,
- 30:32Speaker 4: some type of emotion. And there is some type of,
- 30:34Speaker 4: and again, we're going to add in MCU science and
- 30:37Speaker 4: magic there because of the magic and stuff behind there.
- 30:40Speaker 4: I will say that they have or are developing some
- 30:43Speaker 4: form of consciousness there. And the same thing has happened,
- 30:47Speaker 4: is happening, will be happening with Ultron.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Ultron, I want to know what's going on. Like, what
- 30:55Speaker 1: would be the influence, the human influence, to make Ultron
- 30:57Speaker 1: have human.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Emotions? I think jealousy is.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Accurate, but I think that without human emotion tied to it,
- 31:06Speaker 1: maybe there's another way to talk about what that is.
- 31:08Speaker 3: But it's like the realization... He.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Was told that his value, and this happens to so
- 31:13Speaker 1: many people who are in that unique mindset, the exceptional
- 31:17Speaker 1: Negro mindset, all these mindsets, right? Is that they were
- 31:21Speaker 1: told that they were the exception. They were told your
- 31:24Speaker 1: value lies in the fact that you are the only
- 31:27Speaker 1: one like this thing. And he's run with that. He's like,
- 31:31Speaker 1: that's who defines me. That's everything about me. That's all
- 31:34Speaker 1: you need to know.
- 31:34Speaker 3: I'm the only one.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Boom. And The idea that you can be replaced is
- 31:42Speaker 1: what makes him be able to, like, gloat over the
- 31:44Speaker 1: other AIs.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Like, oh, you're just, you're a dummy. Like, I love
- 31:46Speaker 3: you because you don't say anything and, like, you are replaceable.
- 31:51Speaker 1: But you, like, I love you because you're, like, you're
- 31:53Speaker 1: here and I can fuck with that. But at the
- 31:55Speaker 1: same time, that, again, listen to that. He enjoys the
- 31:59Speaker 1: fact that he's around other processors that have nothing to, personality-wise,
- 32:07Speaker 1: to at least bring any, like, range to him that
- 32:10Speaker 1: could be something that would be adversarial. There's no opposition there.
- 32:14Speaker 4: It's not a challenge.
- 32:15Speaker 1: It's not a challenge. Vision was his ultimate challenge. He
- 32:18Speaker 1: told us that in episode one. He was bested by
- 32:20Speaker 1: Vision and now he's studied Vision. He sees Vision has
- 32:24Speaker 1: all these humanistic values and emotional things. He's like, I've
- 32:29Speaker 1: got to integrate that somehow. And we see him integrating
- 32:33Speaker 1: whatever his approximation of those things is, I think, in
- 32:35Speaker 1: these emotions that he's portraying here. But I think a
- 32:38Speaker 1: lot of it is related to what he feels like
- 32:40Speaker 1: is his value. And I think that his avatar, not to, again,
- 32:44Speaker 1: this is not about the actor, because we know this
- 32:46Speaker 1: is why he's casted, because he's been the voice.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Love this.
- 32:50Speaker 1: But look at who he decided to have as his avatar, right?
- 32:53Speaker 1: If that's who his avatar is, that's how he values himself.
- 32:57Speaker 3: As a being, as a person, there's some.
- 33:00Speaker 4: There's some questions there, right?
- 33:02Speaker 3: There's something going on in there.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Because he chose, he had the right to choose whatever
- 33:05Speaker 4: he wanted to look like. He could have looked like
- 33:07Speaker 4: Tyson Beckford if he wanted to. He could have looked
- 33:08Speaker 4: Thor if he wanted to. He could have looked Thor
- 33:10Speaker 4: if he wanted to. But that's what he chose.
- 33:12Speaker 2: But on that note... James Slater. Yeah, James. I knew
- 33:15Speaker 2: it was James.
- 33:15Speaker 3: James.
- 33:16Speaker 2: He said that he proposed the wild out beard look
- 33:20Speaker 2: for this version because he wanted to appear like a
- 33:24Speaker 2: Greek god. you know, of that big Regal Zeus, you know.
- 33:29Speaker 2: It gives me an old man.
- 33:31Speaker 4: It gives, it gives, it gives, it gives Columbia University
- 33:35Speaker 4: professor on his third tenure try.
- 33:38Speaker 5: I can also see that, you know, old Zeus feeling of,
- 33:41Speaker 5: you know, that like, I'm just above giving a shit
- 33:44Speaker 5: what I look like.
- 33:45Speaker 3: I'm above, I'm imbued with so much more wisdom than
- 33:47Speaker 3: you niggas.
- 33:48Speaker 5: I've got more power than you niggas. I'm just up
- 33:51Speaker 5: here eating good, living good, drinking good.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Fuck all y'all.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Meanwhile, you're a bastard.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Nobody really fuck with like that.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I mean, that's Zeus. That is straight up. Exactly. You know,
- 34:01Speaker 2: that is, you know, every legend of Zeus, you know,
- 34:04Speaker 2: says those same words. So yeah.
- 34:07Speaker 5: And to answer your point though, Tatiana, I, yeah, I
- 34:11Speaker 5: had to say that they are experiencing emotions. Do we
- 34:14Speaker 5: have to give it to, this is some type of
- 34:16Speaker 5: thing that actually has consciousness. And on that note, like
- 34:19Speaker 5: when I was at Howard university, uh, I took a
- 34:22Speaker 5: philosophy class where I straight up argue down or discuss down,
- 34:26Speaker 5: debated down my professor that trees could think.
- 34:30Speaker 2: I think I ended up writing an essay about it.
- 34:32Speaker 4: So what was your position?
- 34:33Speaker 3: That trees could think?
- 34:34Speaker 1: Yes.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Because I argue.
- 34:35Speaker 4: Because they're alive.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Because they're alive.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Nope, nope. Let me keep going.
- 34:39Speaker 4: They grow, maintain memory.
- 34:41Speaker 5: I'm not done because up until like what, last century
- 34:44Speaker 5: that we understood that our brains produce thought. And even
- 34:48Speaker 5: that is still undetermined, you know? Are our brains producing
- 34:52Speaker 5: thought or are we receiving thoughts?
- 34:54Speaker 2: You know? So... C-O-N-spiracy. Yeah.
- 34:58Speaker 5: And so it could be... And so my argument was that,
- 35:01Speaker 5: you know, the structure of.
- 35:02Speaker 2: A tree could be thinking. We just don't know. You know?
- 35:08Speaker 2: And so... I.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Can see your position there.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I mean... Yeah.
- 35:11Speaker 4: And that's also a big philosophy question in terms of
- 35:14Speaker 4: nature and creation and all this other stuff. And you
- 35:17Speaker 4: mentioned the structure of a tree. The root structure of
- 35:19Speaker 4: a tree is similar to the synapse structure of the
- 35:22Speaker 4: human brain and all this other stuff. There's a reason
- 35:24Speaker 4: why it looks similar, y'all.
- 35:25Speaker 5: And the fact that trees communicate over long distances and
- 35:28Speaker 5: all these other types of.
- 35:29Speaker 3: It's just for real if you just think about it.
- 35:31Speaker 5: Yeah, and so it's all kind of... And if you
- 35:36Speaker 5: take that further, then you could say that, yes, a... iPhone,
- 35:42Speaker 5: you know, due to the nature of its circuitry and
- 35:44Speaker 5: everything has obtained some form of consciousness.
- 35:49Speaker 2: How would we know?
- 35:50Speaker 4: The thing, the thing, one of the, and you know,
- 35:52Speaker 4: this is also what's going to have to happen in
- 35:54Speaker 4: the future. It's just like the rules or the laws
- 35:57Speaker 4: by which what constitutes, again, it's hard when you, when you,
- 36:00Speaker 4: we don't even ourselves understand, but what actually constitutes consciousness, right?
- 36:03Speaker 4: What are the things that need to be achieved, right?
- 36:05Speaker 4: Like knowing, you know, memory, but then also being able
- 36:09Speaker 4: to make decisions independently, right? And then it's like, well,
- 36:14Speaker 4: machines could do that all day. But is it rooted
- 36:17Speaker 4: in any type of emotion and understanding and social? Like,
- 36:21Speaker 4: there's so many constructs that go into humans that we
- 36:24Speaker 4: don't even think about that. I'm just like, I don't
- 36:25Speaker 4: know if in our time, like I said, MCU world
- 36:28Speaker 4: is one thing. In our time, I don't know.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Like, do ants, are ants conscious?
- 36:33Speaker 4: Why wouldn't they be?
- 36:36Speaker 2: That's another great philosophy.
- 36:39Speaker 5: It's actually a philosophy essay, Life as a Bat, I
- 36:41Speaker 5: think it's called, where a person.
- 36:44Speaker 2: It's.
- 36:44Speaker 5: A famous essay that this person wrote. I can't remember
- 36:46Speaker 5: the philosopher, but they wrote it out explaining that life,
- 36:49Speaker 5: if you were a bat, would be so alien compared
- 36:53Speaker 5: to your life as a human that it would be
- 36:55Speaker 5: a completely different reality.
- 36:58Speaker 2: One, you're blind as fuck.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Oh, the reality.
- 37:00Speaker 2: You use sonar to see everything.
- 37:02Speaker 1: So.
- 37:03Speaker 5: Their world is just completely different than our world. What
- 37:09Speaker 5: reality to them is completely different to us. And so
- 37:13Speaker 5: it's like reality, consciousness, all these type of things, there's
- 37:19Speaker 5: levels to it, basically.
- 37:20Speaker 4: And that's what this show explores, right? Even when they
- 37:24Speaker 4: go back and forth between... Which was, I think, that's
- 37:26Speaker 4: another thing that they're doing, like, masterwork in. Like, when
- 37:28Speaker 4: they go back and forth, and I gotta say, Vision's head,
- 37:31Speaker 4: I don't know where everybody really is right now, but
- 37:32Speaker 4: when they go back and forth to that house that
- 37:34Speaker 4: people are in versus when they're outside and how he's thinking, like,
- 37:38Speaker 4: a dope scene was when Vision was running through the
- 37:42Speaker 4: different scenarios of how he can talk to Tommy and
- 37:45Speaker 4: each one ending in failure. And then you saw all the...
- 37:48Speaker 4: It was like, what, 10... visions in the room.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:52Speaker 3: And it was, it's just all in his head.
- 37:53Speaker 4: But that idea of like, you know, you're running that
- 37:55Speaker 4: simulation over and over again. And I, and a lot
- 37:58Speaker 4: of people in life do it. Like I do that. Well,
- 38:00Speaker 4: I'm like, I know if I say it this way,
- 38:02Speaker 4: this might happen. Well, maybe I could try it this way.
- 38:04Speaker 2: That's right.
- 38:04Speaker 4: But to see a visual representation of that, again, I
- 38:07Speaker 4: felt very human. It felt very, uh, realistic. It felt
- 38:11Speaker 4: very something that I, that I knew that, that, that,
- 38:13Speaker 4: that familiar that I, that I've done before. And other
- 38:16Speaker 4: people can also understand, like you run through the scenario
- 38:19Speaker 4: over and over and you may get the same result
- 38:22Speaker 4: each time, or you may get a different result, but
- 38:24Speaker 4: you don't know until you try.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 38:25Speaker 4: And then also what you said and, and, and what
- 38:27Speaker 4: he said was also applicable to humans. Like you run
- 38:29Speaker 4: in these scenarios, but you're not taking the person into account.
- 38:32Speaker 4: You're not taking how they feel and how they viewing
- 38:34Speaker 4: you and all this other stuff to account. And that's why, like,
- 38:36Speaker 4: it's not working. Like, Again, I just thought that was
- 38:39Speaker 4: a fire scene. And just, again, just how this show,
- 38:42Speaker 4: what to what you're saying, Ben, how the show is
- 38:45Speaker 4: expressing reality and what it means to be in a
- 38:48Speaker 4: different reality.
- 38:49Speaker 1: One, for that scene where he's running the scenario, I
- 38:52Speaker 1: think it's very nice to see the simulation be part
- 38:57Speaker 1: of his response to how to be a parent. Yes.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Because I feel like there are many parents who don't give...
- 39:06Speaker 1: that much thought behind how they respond to their children
- 39:09Speaker 1: like they just respond and that's it there's no like
- 39:13Speaker 1: let's run through what is the best course of action
- 39:15Speaker 1: here what could like so it's nice to know that
- 39:18Speaker 1: even perhaps because he hasn't built a relationship with tommy
- 39:22Speaker 1: he is trying to figure out how the best course
- 39:24Speaker 1: of action for that um i think it also gives
- 39:28Speaker 1: us a glimpse into the reunion that must now have
- 39:31Speaker 1: to happen like it has like there has to be
- 39:34Speaker 1: because like there's conversation between the two of them that
- 39:39Speaker 1: doesn't make any sense without integrating a reunion with Billy at.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Some point and how.
- 39:47Speaker 1: What Vision, as he's running the simulation, it's before he
- 39:51Speaker 1: realizes that Tommy has powers. Not only that Tommy has powers,
- 39:56Speaker 1: but Tommy has powers that are similar to his phasing
- 39:59Speaker 1: in some way. And that feels like it gives Vision
- 40:05Speaker 1: a different point of view on the reality of whether
- 40:09Speaker 1: or not Tommy is some mixed-up boy who read something
- 40:12Speaker 1: whenever he.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Was younger and now he has.
- 40:15Speaker 1: This idea of to actually being consciously Tommy in some form.
- 40:22Speaker 3: And I think that was.
- 40:26Speaker 1: It kind of gives Bobby Boucher, in a way, how
- 40:31Speaker 1: his dad was not fucking with him at all.
- 40:33Speaker 3: But then as soon as he's.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Winning awards or whatever, he's running down that field.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Then his dad's like, oh, that's my son.
- 40:39Speaker 1: You know, I don't know why I'm trying to claim him.
- 40:41Speaker 3: And that's what I kind of... I'm like, Vision just
- 40:43Speaker 3: is like, oh, yeah, you're my son. I need you now.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:46Speaker 2: I mean, he has been pretty deadbeat.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And....
- 40:54Speaker 2: Yeah, he did.
- 40:55Speaker 5: He did just come around when, you know, he realized
- 40:58Speaker 5: that he needed his son.
- 40:59Speaker 2: So, you know, it's like his son made the NBA
- 41:01Speaker 2: and there he is now, you know, draft night. I'm here.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Been there all along.
- 41:07Speaker 4: Speaking of Tommy's powers, I really liked how they visualized it.
- 41:10Speaker 4: So here's the thing about all of these speedster powers.
- 41:13Speaker 4: We've seen them visualize so many different ways throughout like
- 41:15Speaker 4: last 20 years, right? I guess, especially like the most
- 41:20Speaker 4: memorable at the time, like the CW version of the
- 41:24Speaker 4: flash and how they show that. And like, for example,
- 41:27Speaker 4: when Tommy accidentally his hand phase through the vending machine,
- 41:31Speaker 4: I immediately thought of reverse flash, you know, when he
- 41:33Speaker 4: does that, that drill thing into people's hearts and shit like,
- 41:37Speaker 4: and I, and, and that was, I was like, that's
- 41:39Speaker 4: what I need to see. At least from an MCU perspective,
- 41:41Speaker 4: I need to see like, yes, the person is acting like,
- 41:44Speaker 4: you know, they're scared of their powers. They don't know
- 41:46Speaker 4: how to do it, but like to show the sheer, like,
- 41:49Speaker 4: danger level of like what their powers can or may
- 41:53Speaker 4: be able to do to themselves and other people and
- 41:55Speaker 4: things around them like i think that's really important to
- 41:58Speaker 4: bring the fear back like it's it's cute to see
- 42:01Speaker 4: cool powers and looks nice fx wise but also to
- 42:03Speaker 4: be like niggas get killed on this, right? Like you
- 42:08Speaker 4: sneeze wrong, somebody's head could pop off type stuff. Like,
- 42:11Speaker 4: I think I really liked that. And yes, it didn't
- 42:13Speaker 4: look good. It looked very fluid. It looked very, it
- 42:16Speaker 4: also looked new. Like they just try to visualize the,
- 42:20Speaker 4: I don't want to say speed force, but his speed
- 42:21Speaker 4: in a different type of way. I don't want to mix,
- 42:24Speaker 4: I don't want to mix DC into there, but the way, like,
- 42:28Speaker 4: for example, it was like, Ripples in time mixed with electricity.
- 42:32Speaker 4: And it was just like plus water. It was like
- 42:35Speaker 4: all three of those elements. Anytime he was actually starting
- 42:39Speaker 4: to use speed there. And it was even different from
- 42:41Speaker 4: his own uncle. Right. Like it was it was I
- 42:44Speaker 4: just liked how they essentially try to innovate with how
- 42:48Speaker 4: that his powers were even manifested.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Is it just me, or are they trying to relate
- 42:54Speaker 1: it to... Like I said, Vision likes it to how
- 42:57Speaker 1: he phases, and I feel like that's kind of, again,
- 42:59Speaker 1: I think we're seeing here how it's not just that
- 43:02Speaker 1: he is inheriting powers from his uncle, from his bloodline.
- 43:07Speaker 1: There is Vision's stamp on him, even if he's not...
- 43:10Speaker 1: able to actually have children. He was able to make, like,
- 43:13Speaker 1: Wanda included that stamp onto the children.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 43:16Speaker 4: And it's an evolution of the power, right? Because it's
- 43:19Speaker 4: doing something more. And not to say that Quicksilver couldn't
- 43:21Speaker 4: do it, but there's some other stuff going on with
- 43:23Speaker 4: Tommy that we haven't seen previously, you know?
- 43:26Speaker 3: So I do appreciate that.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I do have a question, though, there.
- 43:31Speaker 5: Well, one, to explain, Quicksilver in the comics, especially at
- 43:34Speaker 5: that time, now he's been super amped up, but at
- 43:36Speaker 5: that time he was not nearly that fast and he
- 43:39Speaker 5: could not do that.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Type of flash stuff, like vibrate through things.
- 43:43Speaker 5: So when Speed came along, when Tommy, who is called Speed,
- 43:47Speaker 5: when he first debuted, hopefully he got a better name
- 43:49Speaker 5: since then, but he was called Speed when he first
- 43:52Speaker 5: came out.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Speed could vibrate himself. It was terrible. I mean, Wiccan
- 43:57Speaker 2: and Speed.
- 43:57Speaker 4: That's how MCU do.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Like, Wiccan was dope, but Speed, like, that shit was ass.
- 44:04Speaker 5: So anyway, yeah, it was always Tommy and Billy for me.
- 44:07Speaker 5: But my question is, Tommy, I almost said Tommy Davidson.
- 44:14Speaker 5: Shout out to the comedian. I can't remember the boy's
- 44:17Speaker 5: original name, but that boy dead, right? The original Tommy?
- 44:21Speaker 3: Thomas Spencer.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Thomas Spencer drowned in the pool.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Well, yes and no. It's kind of like Billy, right?
- 44:28Speaker 4: It's just like Billy.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Billy's dead, too. The original Billy's dead, too.
- 44:31Speaker 4: Yes and no. Yes and no. And here's why.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yes and no.
- 44:35Speaker 4: So, yes, the man's Tommy version one did, in fact, die, like, briefly, technically, right?
- 44:42Speaker 4: When he got drowned.
- 44:44Speaker 2: I mean, it only takes a second to die, you know?
- 44:46Speaker 3: Well, listen, because people, you know, people dying coming back, right?
- 44:50Speaker 4: You've read it all before, but people have literally been
- 44:52Speaker 4: dead for, I don't know, 30 seconds or a minute
- 44:55Speaker 4: or whatever, and then they get brought back to life,
- 44:56Speaker 4: you know? they get they get shocked up back to
- 44:58Speaker 4: life similarly in that moment of death like yes he
- 45:02Speaker 4: did die however he did come back like remember those
- 45:06Speaker 4: those from my understanding the essence of tommy and billy
- 45:10Speaker 4: they still had to anchor to an actual another soul
- 45:13Speaker 4: another essence it couldn't i don't think it was just
- 45:16Speaker 4: an empty vessel that they just jumped into i think
- 45:18Speaker 4: they did actually from what i've been reading that they
- 45:20Speaker 4: did anchor themselves to somebody or something if you will
- 45:24Speaker 4: the soul so And because of the way this version
- 45:29Speaker 4: of Tommy even speaks, it's not like he forgot his
- 45:32Speaker 4: past life.
- 45:33Speaker 3: It's not like he's not that person.
- 45:34Speaker 4: He talks about, I was one thing, and then all
- 45:37Speaker 4: of a sudden I got memories of Juana and the
- 45:39Speaker 4: rest of you niggas. So how's that happening, right? And
- 45:42Speaker 4: that's why I'm like, they're both technically still there. Now
- 45:46Speaker 4: is Tommy version two essentially the new Tommy?
- 45:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:50Speaker 4: But I don't think the old Tommy is completely gone.
- 45:52Speaker 4: And I think it's similar, and they purposely do that,
- 45:55Speaker 4: and I'm likening that to Vision's journey, Vision's quest. He
- 46:00Speaker 4: is not this other guy. He's not the original Vision,
- 46:03Speaker 4: but he is tethered to him. He has remnants of him.
- 46:06Speaker 4: He has fragments of him and he's tied to him.
- 46:09Speaker 4: The magic of Wanda made him so that he's more
- 46:13Speaker 4: than just a copy.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Right.
- 46:14Speaker 3: He's a little bit more than that.
- 46:15Speaker 4: And that's why I think I think the Tommy version
- 46:19Speaker 4: one is still alive in some respect. Maybe not a
- 46:21Speaker 4: traditional sense, but in some respect that that version is
- 46:25Speaker 4: still there.
- 46:26Speaker 2: I mean, nobody ever really dies if you look at
- 46:28Speaker 2: it like that, but... Annie Ardina. Yeah.
- 46:31Speaker 3: But, like, it's... I think... When I think about.
- 46:34Speaker 1: Because it's, like, Father Like Son, and I think about it, like,
- 46:37Speaker 1: the baton passing a little bit in a way, like,
- 46:39Speaker 1: the magic. Because basically, how I'm visualizing it is two
- 46:42Speaker 1: different ways. One, Wanda's magical powers created Vision's, like, ability
- 46:48Speaker 1: to be there as, like, this, like, humanoid version of, like,
- 46:51Speaker 1: what she created, and also the machine that Sword Court created. Also,
- 46:56Speaker 1: as well, is that's basically like her doing the Frosty
- 47:00Speaker 1: the Snowman kind of effect. She put her magic in him.
- 47:03Speaker 1: He became a real thing. Now he's bopping around singing
- 47:06Speaker 1: Christmas songs. He's a real boy. And we keep coming
- 47:09Speaker 1: back to that.
- 47:10Speaker 3: And then we see her.
- 47:15Speaker 1: magic flux or whatever and bound into Billy then Billy
- 47:18Speaker 1: has the baton and he passes that and he puts
- 47:21Speaker 1: his magic and that creates the ability of Tommy to
- 47:24Speaker 1: like have his life or whatever as well so what
- 47:27Speaker 1: I'm seeing it as like for Billy and Tommy effect
- 47:29Speaker 1: I'm seeing them more as if you've ever read or
- 47:32Speaker 1: watched Animorphs there were these like aliens that would crawl
- 47:36Speaker 1: into your ear and they would take over your body.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Like you consciously would be in one part of your
- 47:41Speaker 1: conscious and they would be running your life.
- 47:43Speaker 3: For you in the other part of your conscious.
- 47:44Speaker 2: That's horrific.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Yes. Hey, it be happening, bro.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Go ahead. That's very get out.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Would you rather- But it's freak it out as well.
- 47:53Speaker 2: So it's like- I know, yeah. Yeah, but still.
- 47:55Speaker 3: Like, yeah, this makes a lot of sense, guys.
- 47:58Speaker 4: I mean, would you rather like you take a backseat
- 48:00Speaker 4: almost consciously and you watch yourself being controlled by another
- 48:04Speaker 4: being or would you rather- Or.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Would you rather be like symbiotic? Integrated.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Where it's like y'all are both there at the same time.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 3: That's what it seems like is happening with Billy.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Instead of it being straight up separate consciousness, it seems
- 48:17Speaker 1: like what has happened has been the trauma of their
- 48:20Speaker 1: deaths has created space for another consciousness to integrate with
- 48:26Speaker 1: their lives.
- 48:26Speaker 3: And so that's what we're seeing with Billy and Tommy.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Which is, again, horrific.
- 48:30Speaker 1: That's why we see Tommy going through it. That's why
- 48:32Speaker 1: we saw Billy going through it. He's probably still going
- 48:34Speaker 1: through it to this day.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Their original are dead.
- 48:38Speaker 1: But that's the other point. Everyone is talking about death here,
- 48:41Speaker 1: and I think there's a reason. I think we keep
- 48:44Speaker 1: hearing about why, because especially we think the major key
- 48:48Speaker 1: player here, who is Wanda, who is dead, we keep
- 48:51Speaker 1: hearing about people who are dead being re-resurrected.
- 48:55Speaker 3: We see that Vision keeps saying, like, oh, I was
- 48:57Speaker 3: dead once.
- 48:58Speaker 1: And then I think it's very poignant for Tommy to
- 49:01Speaker 1: be like, you've been dead. So you're not afraid of
- 49:03Speaker 1: death now. And he's like, no, I'm not. And then
- 49:04Speaker 1: Tommy kind of goes, because Tommy once was dead. So
- 49:08Speaker 1: is he going to be afraid of death now? Is
- 49:09Speaker 1: he not going to be afraid of death now? Is
- 49:11Speaker 1: he going to look at visions example of a reason
- 49:14Speaker 1: for why he should move kind of like he's kind
- 49:16Speaker 1: of deathless.
- 49:18Speaker 2: I don't think he is though.
- 49:19Speaker 5: And I, think a bullet will still lay Tommy down
- 49:21Speaker 5: just like it laid down his uncle.
- 49:24Speaker 3: Does he know that yet?
- 49:26Speaker 1: He's moving cautiously with his powers because he's not bubbled
- 49:30Speaker 1: up himself enough to be heroic or whatever. When everything
- 49:34Speaker 1: was going down in that fight between Vision and Jocasta,
- 49:38Speaker 1: he sits around to watch the fight. He doesn't take
- 49:41Speaker 1: the lady somewhere safe like a hero would.
- 49:44Speaker 3: He's a kid.
- 49:45Speaker 2: He's a kid.
- 49:46Speaker 4: He don't know. And he don't know what to do.
- 49:49Speaker 1: He's not training heroics. But I'm saying that, but he
- 49:52Speaker 1: also is a spectator. He wanted to see the fight.
- 49:55Speaker 1: He wanted to see what was happening on the ground there.
- 49:57Speaker 2: I mean, it's his dad.
- 50:00Speaker 3: I would argue it's even simpler than that. It's like,
- 50:02Speaker 3: it's rubbernecking.
- 50:03Speaker 4: You're on the road, something happens, and.
- 50:05Speaker 3: You're just like, like you said, you're just there, like, whoa, well,
- 50:08Speaker 3: that shit's happening.
- 50:08Speaker 2: But back to the point, Tommy and Billy OG are dead.
- 50:15Speaker 3: I would agree.
- 50:18Speaker 2: They're sitting in the corner in their mind screaming.
- 50:21Speaker 1: They're trying to integrate themselves.
- 50:26Speaker 2: But they're not.
- 50:27Speaker 5: In this episode, Vision is like, you are Tommy Mattson off,
- 50:32Speaker 5: my nigga.
- 50:33Speaker 2: That other kid, He.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Never said that. He did not say that.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Yeah, because he didn't need to. Because he's like, we're
- 50:39Speaker 2: not going to talk about it anymore.
- 50:41Speaker 1: He literally was on, no, you're a kid who's mixed up.
- 50:45Speaker 3: You don't know what's going on. And then, like, he said, okay,
- 50:48Speaker 3: you're Tommy. But he does not say, that does not
- 50:50Speaker 3: mean that you're not Thomas. He just says, you are Thomas.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Yeah, he just doesn't mention the other one because it's like,
- 50:55Speaker 2: no need to. Because we know who you are.
- 50:57Speaker 1: What does a synthezoid know about human life and death?
- 51:00Speaker 1: How can he tell Tommy who he is before he dies?
- 51:03Speaker 5: But the thing is, he is telling him that. And
- 51:05Speaker 5: so Tommy is going to be like, you're right. I'm
- 51:07Speaker 5: Tommy Matt Small. No need to worry about that other
- 51:09Speaker 5: kid because he dead. And his dad is a deadbeat.
- 51:13Speaker 5: His original dad's a deadbeat and his mom is dead.
- 51:16Speaker 4: I think why this is so difficult.
- 51:18Speaker 2: And Billy's parents are both dead, right?
- 51:19Speaker 4: They died in the car crash.
- 51:23Speaker 1: No. Uh-uh. The sous vide, all those scenes in Agatha
- 51:27Speaker 1: All Along.
- 51:28Speaker 3: They was alive. Tommy came, whenever Billy came back home
- 51:31Speaker 3: and they were like, what's, are you okay? What's going
- 51:33Speaker 3: on with you? And he was freaking out.
- 51:34Speaker 4: His parents were alive. So that's, that's why, again, I'm saying,
- 51:37Speaker 4: I think what makes this difficult is because it's a,
- 51:39Speaker 4: it's a form of reincarnation. It's literally what, it's a
- 51:42Speaker 4: form of reincarnation that's happened. And the original soul is
- 51:46Speaker 4: still there. Again, like I said, I don't know what
- 51:48Speaker 4: the percentage levels is.
- 51:49Speaker 5: If it's, if it's Billy is never going home again, he's,
- 51:53Speaker 5: we'll never see those parents again.
- 51:55Speaker 4: What does that mean for anything about him not being alive, though?
- 51:59Speaker 2: Because if you were still alive, you'd want to go
- 52:02Speaker 2: see your parents.
- 52:04Speaker 3: The last scene we have of him is inside of
- 52:06Speaker 3: his room, inside of their house.
- 52:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:07Speaker 3: With freaking Agatha. They are the ghosts.
- 52:09Speaker 4: With those people.
- 52:10Speaker 2: That's going to be the last scene we see.
- 52:13Speaker 4: Of him, too.
- 52:16Speaker 2: I hear you.
- 52:16Speaker 4: I hear you.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:18Speaker 5: Look, my man said, you are Tommy Matsumoff. He wasn't like,
- 52:21Speaker 5: you're Tommy Matsumoff and that other kid. He said your
- 52:24Speaker 5: Tommy matched him off.
- 52:25Speaker 3: Is he worried about the other kid right now? Like,
- 52:27Speaker 3: I just, let's... It's anyone.
- 52:29Speaker 2: I know that... In.
- 52:31Speaker 5: The meta side of it, it's anyone. That's what I mean. No,
- 52:33Speaker 5: them kids is dead. The writers aren't going to be
- 52:36Speaker 5: worried about them after this, you know?
- 52:39Speaker 3: Why the.
- 52:40Speaker 2: This ain't Harry Potter. That man ain't going home in
- 52:42Speaker 2: the summer, like. Mm-mm. He off to Avengers school.
- 52:46Speaker 3: Why the bitch a bird killer got to be a
- 52:48Speaker 3: black woman?
- 52:48Speaker 1: Oh.
- 52:50Speaker 3: But, I mean, I'm not... I don't hate it.
- 52:52Speaker 4: I'm not mad about it, but I'm also, like, the
- 52:54Speaker 4: first white person to show up is Ultron Jr. Like,
- 52:56Speaker 4: what the fuck?
- 52:57Speaker 1: I don't hate the fact that she's taken out... Like,
- 52:59Speaker 1: her targets are people I would, like, okay, take them out.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Like, I don't have a problem with this. And here's
- 53:05Speaker 4: what's really potentially, really actually bothering me about this character.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Because remember how we said, like, you know, about... And
- 53:12Speaker 4: this is what I want to see. Did I miss something? Typically,
- 53:15Speaker 4: they don't just introduce random cats and say, that was
- 53:18Speaker 4: the person all along, right? Like, I guess this is
- 53:20Speaker 4: the middle of the story. There's episodes three and four,
- 53:23Speaker 4: so we're in the middle of the story now, and
- 53:24Speaker 4: they're still introducing people. But that whole... I don't know.
- 53:30Speaker 4: It just felt like they was just like... I don't know.
- 53:33Speaker 4: It didn't feel like a natural jump. Like, all of
- 53:35Speaker 4: a sudden now, you got this whole crew of people who...
- 53:38Speaker 4: now need to be killed and or were killed and
- 53:40Speaker 4: now i don't know it just it was something about
- 53:43Speaker 4: it felt like a jump as opposed to some natural
- 53:45Speaker 4: progression i don't.
- 53:46Speaker 5: Know i see why that you know bothers you but
- 53:49Speaker 5: like you said and i you know i heard y'all
- 53:50Speaker 5: discuss this as well it's like in a mystery you
- 53:52Speaker 5: know you're still you're introducing the characters now the jocasta
- 53:57Speaker 5: was already introduced so you know we already had jocasta
- 54:01Speaker 5: out there murdering people from the very first episode So
- 54:04Speaker 5: she's in the headlines.
- 54:06Speaker 2: She's in the headlines.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Well, she was in the, well, I hear what you say.
- 54:09Speaker 4: She was the headline.
- 54:09Speaker 3: They didn't show anything or.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Talk about it. People were being murdered from the very first. Okay.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:15Speaker 2: By her.
- 54:16Speaker 5: And so, you know, that mystery is already present. Now,
- 54:20Speaker 5: who she is, her origins, and all that stuff was
- 54:23Speaker 5: being revealed in this episode.
- 54:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 54:25Speaker 4: Well, that's the point I missed, like, about the whole,
- 54:28Speaker 4: she was in the headlines. I was like, well, when
- 54:29Speaker 4: did they mention, or when was they in touch with her?
- 54:31Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I think the very first, the opening of
- 54:33Speaker 2: the show was, like, on the news, talking about the.
- 54:36Speaker 4: Yeah, in the newspaper, I remember now.
- 54:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:38Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so that's all that, because I
- 54:40Speaker 4: was just like, where the fuck did Jocasta come from?
- 54:42Speaker 4: It just felt abrupt, but it's because I missed the point.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Okay, cool.
- 54:45Speaker 1: What about the point about her saying, because whenever... It's
- 54:49Speaker 1: so humanistic. The humanistic, like, is this AI?
- 54:53Speaker 3: Is this a human? Blah, blah, blah storyline has been
- 54:54Speaker 3: going on with all these characters.
- 54:57Speaker 1: And when Ultron thinks he's saying the... I can't remember
- 55:02Speaker 1: if it's Ultron or Vision at this point. It says
- 55:03Speaker 1: the Trump card of like, but you were once... You
- 55:08Speaker 1: were based off of... You're based on her.
- 55:09Speaker 3: And she's like, no, I am her. She looked like
- 55:12Speaker 3: you called her Har-E-R. She said, based. So does that mean.
- 55:16Speaker 4: I am that bitch.
- 55:18Speaker 3: That she's been this.
- 55:21Speaker 1: droid this whole time like she's never been like the
- 55:24Speaker 1: scientists that they say in the headlines the one who
- 55:26Speaker 1: like died of this illness or whatever who whatever that's
- 55:29Speaker 1: never that was never true she's always been.
- 55:31Speaker 4: She imbued her consciousness into this thing and it's.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Now someone else created her and she has been part
- 55:37Speaker 1: of that whole line of scientists she died off but
- 55:40Speaker 1: that was really her going for parts or something and
- 55:43Speaker 1: like in hibernation and now she's back and she's taking
- 55:45Speaker 1: out revenge.
- 55:47Speaker 2: So you're saying she was never a black woman. She
- 55:49Speaker 2: was just a robot that.
- 55:50Speaker 3: The whole time.
- 55:51Speaker 2: All right.
- 55:53Speaker 3: I mean, is that what that means? Because a base.
- 55:55Speaker 3: Because a base. What does that mean then?
- 55:59Speaker 5: It also could be like what Tatiana said, where she's saying, no,
- 56:02Speaker 5: I put myself into this. You know, I'm the OG.
- 56:08Speaker 5: She's making the same argument. Basically, the vision is struggling with.
- 56:13Speaker 5: She's saying that, like, if.
- 56:14Speaker 4: I'm the original, you're the copy, you know?
- 56:16Speaker 5: Yeah, but she's saying also, like, if it is what
- 56:19Speaker 5: you're saying, Tatiana, that I put myself into this, it
- 56:22Speaker 5: doesn't matter.
- 56:23Speaker 2: It's still me. Correct.
- 56:24Speaker 3: So, like, the machine, she created the machine and then
- 56:26Speaker 3: she put her consciousness inside of the machine.
- 56:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and she's saying that's still me, while Vision would
- 56:29Speaker 5: be like, oh, I don't know. Is that me or
- 56:31Speaker 5: is it not?
- 56:32Speaker 3: But it's one thing when she started off as a human.
- 56:33Speaker 3: Vision never started off as a human.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but I bet he would still have an argument
- 56:37Speaker 2: because he's a wuss. Sorry.
- 56:39Speaker 4: Now, but do you see the parallels? There's still parallels, Ben,
- 56:41Speaker 4: even to your question about Billy and Tommy. Something, another
- 56:44Speaker 4: being put themselves or attached themselves to another being.
- 56:49Speaker 2: Who's the original?
- 56:50Speaker 5: No, they attach themselves to a boy who's drowned and
- 56:53Speaker 5: a boy who died in.
- 56:54Speaker 2: A car crash.
- 56:56Speaker 3: But the original.
- 56:58Speaker 4: My man said, I was.
- 56:58Speaker 3: We're not dead. But the original has a voice that
- 57:01Speaker 3: they remember their past life.
- 57:02Speaker 4: So they're not dead. That's why I'm like.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Could he have gotten out of that car if he
- 57:07Speaker 1: did not actually, because they didn't, they did not have
- 57:09Speaker 1: to like resuscitate them at scene for them to like
- 57:13Speaker 1: be alive.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Because they were inhabited by, you know, a living being.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Because they were dying. They were not dead yet.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Yeah. But if not for them, they would be dead.
- 57:23Speaker 4: Right.
- 57:24Speaker 3: But they were dying. They were not, they're not dead.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:27Speaker 4: So what what did Katarina Wells, the CEO of the company,
- 57:31Speaker 4: take from Jocasta? Because Jocasta says she was going after
- 57:35Speaker 4: the whole e-board because they took something from her. And
- 57:39Speaker 4: that's why she was taking their biomarkers, because she needed
- 57:42Speaker 4: to lock something, I guess.
- 57:44Speaker 3: What was it that she took?
- 57:47Speaker 2: Well, we won't know because she got disintegrated.
- 57:50Speaker 4: She got.
- 57:51Speaker 2: She got cooked.
- 57:52Speaker 1: But she's not the only one who took something. They
- 57:54Speaker 1: all took something from her. That's why she's able to unlock.
- 57:56Speaker 2: It with all their biologies.
- 57:57Speaker 4: They had to repeat it. And I was just like,
- 57:59Speaker 4: what exactly happened? Like, and maybe they'll reveal that later.
- 58:03Speaker 4: But it's to your point, Ben. It's like, well, she's
- 58:06Speaker 4: fried now, right? So now what?
- 58:08Speaker 2: Like, I just... That was such a, like, horrific frying.
- 58:11Speaker 2: It was super horrific. She turned orange and then melted away.
- 58:15Speaker 2: It was like.
- 58:16Speaker 4: She's fucking flaked out, bro.
- 58:17Speaker 1: It kind of gave Apocalypse and how he took out...
- 58:21Speaker 1: Who did he take out that way?
- 58:23Speaker 3: Was it Gambit? It was somebody he took out like.
- 58:25Speaker 4: That in X-Men.
- 58:25Speaker 2: Magneto, right?
- 58:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it was Magneto. He took out Magneto. It kind
- 58:30Speaker 3: of gave that.
- 58:30Speaker 2: It still hurts.
- 58:32Speaker 4: Also, what I was saying at the beginning of the
- 58:35Speaker 4: series where I'm just like, they're a little bit more
- 58:37Speaker 4: violent here. They're showing you like, this ain't your mama's Ultron.
- 58:41Speaker 4: This is somebody else. You know what I mean? Also,
- 58:43Speaker 4: just real quick, shout out to the woman who played
- 58:46Speaker 4: The CEO, Mary McDonald, she was the president or whatever
- 58:49Speaker 4: the head person was on Battlestar Galactica, the TV show
- 58:52Speaker 4: in the 2000s. I kept looking at her face like,
- 58:54Speaker 4: she looks familiar. When you said that, I was like, yep, yep.
- 58:57Speaker 4: That's her.
- 58:59Speaker 3: But, I mean, she was barely in there, so I
- 59:01Speaker 3: was like, goddamn.
- 59:01Speaker 5: How are you feeling about Paladin and his daddy issues?
- 59:06Speaker 5: And everybody pretty much having daddy issues already.
- 59:10Speaker 2: On this show?
- 59:10Speaker 3: The whole series is about everybody with daddy issues.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Like.
- 59:14Speaker 4: And Paladin, what happened with his pops? Like, his pops
- 59:19Speaker 4: just randomly got shot. Was he a target, a Paladin target,
- 59:22Speaker 4: and that's why he got shot? Okay.
- 59:24Speaker 1: But the way that his daddy was talking to him
- 59:25Speaker 1: in that car, I'm like, this dad has to be
- 59:27Speaker 1: a villain.
- 59:27Speaker 3: He's either a villain or a henchman.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:29Speaker 2: He was a sucker who thought he was bigger than
- 59:31Speaker 2: what he was.
- 59:32Speaker 1: And then Paladin came and took him out, but also
- 59:34Speaker 1: was like, I'm going to adopt you now. Like, as
- 59:36Speaker 1: if he knew what his dad was telling him in
- 59:38Speaker 1: the car. Like, did he have some machine work? Like,
- 59:40Speaker 1: did he have the listening device?
- 59:41Speaker 3: Like, no.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Might have been. Why did he know the kid.
- 59:44Speaker 1: It's probably recon. He probably knew how the dad was
- 59:46Speaker 1: to the kid. But, like, he popped up there, like, okay,
- 59:49Speaker 1: I'm your daddy now. And, like, he knew the kid
- 59:51Speaker 1: was going to be receptive to him being his dad
- 59:53Speaker 1: after he just killed his actual father in front of him. So...
- 59:57Speaker 1: I think also the fact that, like, the voice telling him, like,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: your contract is terminated. And, like, Paladin saying that his
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: whole lifeblood is wrapped up and being contracted.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: I'm like, does that mean he terminates? Has he never
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: had a contract terminated before? Because does that mean he doesn't.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: Take himself out?
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: And I don't think he'll take himself out. But what
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: he does next, you know, is going to probably be
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: a little bit more wild out. I did like that
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: they gave a quick shout out to Daredevil beating his ass.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: You also got a few shout outs.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: Yeah, Daredevil might have been Punisher for the first one.
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: And then the second one, there was another one that
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: was right on point. It was Daredevil, the IED, Billy
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: Club to the head.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: And I can't remember the last one, but I know
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: the chat will let me know. Because I figured the
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: IED and Brooklyn might have been Punisher. Then he said
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: a Billy Club to the head and you got to
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: stay out of Hell's Kitchen. And there was another one
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: that was like, oh, the werewolf.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: He said that he got attacked by werewolves. Werewolves at night. Yeah,
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: there's only Jack Terrier, right? Or Jack Russell. Yeah, Jack Russell.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Jack Russell. That's hilarious. His name is Jack Russell.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: His name of a breed of a dog. Okay.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: A very small non-wolfish dog.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Correct. That is Wishbone. Wishbone.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: I was about to say that's Wishbone. Yes.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Jack Russell. So, quick shout out to them, you know.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: And it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: This is my one thing with Vision Quest right now.
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: It feels like there's some of these characters, and with
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: Agatha Long, and this is a big problem in MCU
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: in general, is that I don't know when we'll ever
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: see these niggas again.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: That's what I was saying. They're introducing a lot of people.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: Which one specifically do you feel that about in this season?
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Oof, I mean everybody. Paladin, Tommy Speed.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: You don't think we're going to see Tommy or Speed?
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: I think the reason we're getting him is because we're
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: going to keep seeing them.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Tommy and Agatha. I think we got them because we're
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: close to seeing them.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: Yeah, Young Avengers. Just like we got Billy and Agatha,
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: we got Tommy now. Young Avengers, that's what I thought.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: I mean, remember when, what was that, when Young Black
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: Widow went and recruited Ms.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Marvel? What was that, like 20 years ago? Oh. Pepper Farm,
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: remember at this point? Pepper Farm.
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: The North remembers, but.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: I.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Don't know if the North does.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: But, okay, here's my thing.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: They have the actress, they have her doing things actively.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: For Marvel currently. Yeah.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: So I feel like they're keeping her relevant for a reason.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: They're keeping her in.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Unlike Mahershala and the injustice around all that and everything
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: that has been Black since and.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Iron Fist. I mean, Iron Fist.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Ironheart is a question mark there as well. American Chavez
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: is a big question mark.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: American Chavez. You know.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: What I mean? That's what I'm saying.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: Look, you just named three people who probably ain't never
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: going to see it again.
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: The only reason why, though, because technically these cats... Like,
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: this is a trilogy, right? WandaVision, Agatha Long, this.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: And I think this is going to be the end
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: of it.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Well, this story, yes, but.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: But why bother? The reason why, why bother? Well, then again,
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: MCU does this all the time, but I was going
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: to say, why bother with connecting to Hell's Kitchen and this, that,
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: and Daredevil and all these people if it doesn't matter
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: in the end?
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Why bother?
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: We can't do this right now.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: We're in the middle of the season. I can't be
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: sitting on like, oh, this is all futile. I'm over
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: here talking about the story as if it means nothing
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: at all.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: I can't do that right now.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: No, man, we can't do this. And what we were
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: talking about actually reminded me of what I wanted to
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: say before about the smartness of the writing and the
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: fact that they.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: We talk about DNA.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: They take the.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: DNA of WandaVision in this.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: And they're doing the same thing but in a slightly
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: different way.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: And.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: Again, very creative.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: Like, they're still doing the kind of different styles of
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: TV and the different types of episodes within Vision Quest. Like,
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: you saw the horror movie in here, right? And then,
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: you know, before you saw the.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Specifically.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Right, before you saw the kind of all-in-the-family type of,
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: you know, sitcom type of approach.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: And, like, you actually saw all of that, plus... the
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: uh magic.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: Of agatha all along and then added some more violence
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: in that hole and then that's i'm just like okay
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: they made it they gave me some more substance in
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: this right it wasn't just like oh it's just a
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: trilogy like it's actually trying to tell its own story
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: and give its own flavor yeah and.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: There's a lot of really cute stuff like you said
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: with the tech stuff that's been done like i even
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: really like the fact that ultron and vision like ultron
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: because he's so robotic can't get the fire hydrant thing,
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: you know, and he's still arguing over these while vision
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: who's more humanity can see, you know, fire hydrant.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: It's so cool.
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: And like, and it's such a, it's such an easy
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: thing to do, but it's like, if you don't pay attention,
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: you miss the brilliance of that.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: And I'm glad you mentioned that.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Um, It's like, prove you're not a bot. And Ultron
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: is a bot.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: 100%.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: And he's overthinking it. He's like, well, you can see
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: the top of.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: The hydra here if you think about it. He's like,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: maybe my visual acuity is way too high for this.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: But it's also kind of a double entendre because even
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: when we're doing those captures.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: sometimes you do that too like.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: Well there's a there's a crosswalk right there so maybe
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: I should click that right I click that.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Shit every time you know what I'm saying it's like
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: that looks.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: Like a stoplight so I'ma click that so.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: And it's the time you don't do it that it's
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: like and it's the time you do do it it's
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: like and you're like I don't know man I'ma try.
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: They lean again, very hard when it comes to the dialogue,
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: when we talk about the tech and like when Edith
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: was trying to, they did the exorcist, right?
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: When they was, she was trying to.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: Get power of code.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: Right, right. Like that's that, that's fire, how they're really
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: doing it. And, and it, the quirkiness of the show
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: really helps in like this, the, how much you enjoy
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: it and how much you're getting into it. And they're
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: still true to the characters. Cause back to the original
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: question at the end of the day, are these just
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: bots or are they something else?
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Cause they first do talk like bots.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: To your point about the writing, I do want to
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: add that I enjoy any story, whether it's on page
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: or visual or audio, where there's no extra pieces. There's
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: nothing there that's just gratuitous and like, why are we
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: doing this?
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: They're at a motel that has an indoor pool so
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: they can have the scene where Vision has to get
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: rebooted and his son can bring him back to life
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: and uses his powers for the first time. And we
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: see them in the car having a discussion about, like,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: the only person who can actually repair Vision is Banner.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: And Banner is unavailable, which I had question marks. Like,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: is this because they're up to date with, like, Brand
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: New Day? And, like, Banner is literally unavailable. Right. um
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: but i like whenever like like we because there's so
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: many there's so many shows movies whatever where they go
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: to a hotel and it's just a hotel scene and
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: maybe you can have one interesting thing that happens at
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: the hotel but like the actual facility is not really
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: used for anything except for them to stay the night
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: and have whatever scenes they have in the hotel i
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: like that they actually needed to have this set up
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: because it helps the story along and progress um.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: And That hotel had an indoor pool?
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: In London. That's almost as ridiculous as that wee pub
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: having a walk-in freezer.
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: Why is that ridiculous?
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: A walk-in freezer in a tiny-ass bar? Not the freezer,
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: the pool.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Why is the pool inside of a hotel?
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: I don't know. Just the indoor part of it is
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: like that. You haven't seen that? Not in a cheap-ass motel.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Not in a motel.
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: Maybe not a cheap-ass one.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: Having them outdoor joints.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: I'm giving it to London.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: I'm like, but if London don't do that, then.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: The cheapness can be questioned. London is New York. We
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: ain't got no outdoor pool. Indoor, outdoor. But there's some.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: Places in New York do have... There's literally.
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: Indoor pools all over hotels.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: No, no, we do. No, but they're... In New York.
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: You pay for them.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: You pay for them.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: Like I said, we could question the cheapness of the
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: hotel or not, but that didn't seem far-fetched to me.
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: One thing I did want to mention, because you mentioned
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: the pool that reminded me, that whole scene was a baptism.
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: And that whole thing about, you know, coming back from,
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: we talk about death, coming back from the dead, being reborn,
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: all this stuff. Like, they're making it like, they're really
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: pushing on this, which again makes me question.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Jesus Christ! Right, right, right.
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: Where, like, who else? Because at this point, since they're
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: introducing mad characters, who else are they going to pull
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: up at this point? Because it's just like y'all are
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: sending me to this place for a reason.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: All right. One question I do have for y'all before
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: we get out of here is who do y'all think
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: the client is?
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: Got to be somebody already existing or they're going to
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: introduce one more person next episode. Two more, five more
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: people next episode. Who would stand to gain from Ultron,
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: excuse me, Vision being unalived?
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: Is he supposed to be... I think he's supposed to
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: be alive. I think he's supposed to be caught alive.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: Or caught, whatever.
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: Who would stand to gain besides maybe S.W.O.R.D.? I think
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: who else.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: Has the resources besides S.W.O.R.D.? Because I feel like to
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: gain would be Billy. like billy could.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: But really could just pop just pop up on him
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: i don't think billy would go through all that like
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: he just would be like boom here what's up and
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: plus that's his dad right so like why would you
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: why would he do that.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: And i feel like i know bread to hire.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Exactly what i'm saying who has the resources because billy
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: don't got it and i also think that billy um
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: he with the last we saw him i think i
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: mentioned this the last review When we last saw him,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: he was saying that he wanted to go find his brother.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: So he should be on track to find Tommy. And
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: that leads to Vision fine, but he really wants to
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: go find Tommy.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: So that's what... I don't know why Paladin would be
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: involved if he were doing it, because he's going after
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: his brother. I don't know who cares.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: Enough about Vision being brought in with resources like that
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: besides S.W.O.R.D.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Like Toscaner said.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Jarvis.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: Jarvis is gone i'm just yelling out jarvis yeah is
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: he is he though is he though no one.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: Never really dies we don't you know.
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: Did he have a you know release a copy himself
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: on some drop box on the internet.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: Somewhere he already pretended to be deleted the black widow
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: he did.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: That already yeah he already did that in the age
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: old tron.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: So yeah but that's what i'm saying it's happened before
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: that's what.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: I'm just like yeah that'd be really corny if they
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: did that shit again.
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: We can't ask you Ben you watched the whole thing already.
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: So I can't I can't I can't make no guesses
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: on this one yeah I will say it I'll say
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: this about the mysteries on this show everything is already
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: laid out and a lot of it definitely had me
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: like okay that made sense and I should have caught
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: that way earlier is what I'll say yeah it's one
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: of them where I was like oh fucking hell Of course.
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: Dummy or you? Maybe both of them.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Because all of a sudden.
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: Dummy is like a poet now. So I'm like, no,
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: wait a minute.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: I love that he pulled out Keats. I love that
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: he's just like, okay, I'm going to just give... And
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: it was very eloquent. His voice was like, it fit.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: It was just like, okay, deep.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: Resonant. I don't know.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: Everybody's a suspect, man.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I think it's... I think the client is someone who.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of what utility Vision has in
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: the world. He's not currently connected to any of the Avengers.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: The Avengers aren't really a thing as far as people know.
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: Why bother him now? He's been living in the streets
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: all this time.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: He's been in a shadow kind of place.
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: It's all on the show. I'll say that again. Don't
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: look past. Don't think of what's been revealed on this show.
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: Because the answer is all there.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: Shang-Chi.
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: It was Shang-Chi.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: The Fisto.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: Because the Ten Ring Syndicate is involved, so it's Shang-Chi.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: This is true. They have been mentioned.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I feel like in the car, in the early episode,
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: I thought that it was the Stark whatever guy.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: What's his name? The one who was Stark's competition for
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: a second.
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: Hammer? Justin Hammer?
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Hammer. Justin Hammer. No, but Justin Hammer hasn't really been
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: mentioned on this show. Wakanda.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: I thought I saw him.
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: Wakanda.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: They want their vibranium back.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: I mean, Vision is that vibranium.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: Remember, because there was, now that y'all mentioned the news articles,
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: there was another article that has said they were chasing
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: after somebody who stole some vibranium. There was a literal
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: news article there. I remember that article now.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: So... All.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Right. Well... Maybe it's me.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Maybe I don't know Vision's utility well enough, but I'm like,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: I don't know who wants this man. Because who wants
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: this man?
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: Whose man is this?
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: That's what asked the chat. You know, who do y'all
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: think the client is? Is Ultron shook, jealous, or all
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: of the above?
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: I would want Vision.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: If he could hiccup money for me out of ATMs,
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: I would be like, okay, so.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: Vision got a lot of utilities. He got mad utilities.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: But who stands to gain?
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: So, yeah.
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: On the next episode of Vision Quest. Uh, thank you
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: everybody who's been listening and enjoying. We appreciate you. Even
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: if you're hate watching, we still love you because you've
