Speaker 1: Excited to have a guest on the phone right now,
• 0:18
Speaker 1: I have Aaron and he is with Midwest Honor Flight.
• 0:21
Speaker 1: First of all, Aerin, thank you for all that you do.
• 0:23
Speaker 1: You do some wonderful things for like some of the
• 0:26
Speaker 1: coolest people on the planet. So thank you for stepping
• 0:28
Speaker 1: up and helping folks out.
• 0:29
Speaker 2: Absolutely at least we can do get our veterans out
• 0:32
Speaker 2: to Washington, DC to see their memorials.
• 0:34
Speaker 1: How many trips have you made with Midwest Honor Flight
• 0:36
Speaker 1: so far, because you've done a few of these.
• 0:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, we've just the spring, we completed our thirty first
• 0:41
Speaker 2: mission flying two six hundred and fifty five veterans out
• 0:44
Speaker 2: to DC, with more than three hundred on our waiting
• 0:48
Speaker 2: less waiting for the chance to go. And we're excited
• 0:51
Speaker 2: for two more flights this fall late September and on
• 0:54
Speaker 2: the twenty second, the twenty ninth. But of course, funds
• 0:57
Speaker 2: are needed to get those flights off the ground. So
• 0:59
Speaker 2: we've got a couple of fun raisers coming up that
• 1:01
Speaker 2: how we're excited to share as well.
• 1:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to chat about one of those today
• 1:04
Speaker 1: and then we'll mention the other one. But we're going
• 1:06
Speaker 1: to visit about that other one another time. So let's
• 1:08
Speaker 1: start with Monday, August seventeenth, Barrel House Day of Giving
• 1:13
Speaker 1: for Midwest Honor Flight. And this is a really simple thing.
• 1:16
Speaker 1: All I have to do is show up and do
• 1:17
Speaker 1: what I was going to do anyway, just have dinner
• 1:19
Speaker 1: and then you guys benefit from that, right exactly.
• 1:22
Speaker 2: You know the Barrel only supporter of us. Since twenty eighteen,
• 1:26
Speaker 2: we've been having a fundraiser with them annually on a
• 1:28
Speaker 2: Monday on August, and you know they generate the funds.
• 1:31
Speaker 2: And like you said, John, it's so simple as coming
• 1:34
Speaker 2: out to eat, as if you were going to eat anyway,
• 1:36
Speaker 2: come on out. Ten percent of your bill is going
• 1:38
Speaker 2: to be donated back to Midwiest Honor Flight, along with
• 1:40
Speaker 2: any donations that are collected that day. And we'll have
• 1:43
Speaker 2: representatives on site too to answer any questions, pass out
• 1:46
Speaker 2: applications if there's veterans that haven't had the chance to
• 1:48
Speaker 2: go yet. We'd love to get anybody that served from
• 1:52
Speaker 2: World War II through Vietnam out to their memorials in Washington,
• 1:56
Speaker 2: DC as soon as we can.
• 1:57
Speaker 1: And again, this is such a wonderful thing. If if
• 2:00
Speaker 1: you're listening and you're going, how can I contribute? How
• 2:02
Speaker 1: can I help? Well? A simple way show up on Monday,
• 2:05
Speaker 1: August seventeenth at the Barrel House. Don't think you're going
• 2:08
Speaker 1: to remember it. Put it on your calendar right now,
• 2:09
Speaker 1: because you will forget it if you don't. So get
• 2:11
Speaker 1: that on the calendar Monday, August seventeenth and plan to
• 2:14
Speaker 1: be at the Barrel House for a day of giving
• 2:17
Speaker 1: for Midwest Honor Flight. And this is open to anybody.
• 2:20
Speaker 1: So this isn't something where I have to be a
• 2:21
Speaker 1: veteran to come be a part of this event. This
• 2:23
Speaker 1: is literally for anybody that wants to, anybody that's going
• 2:26
Speaker 1: to eat or drink something, It all goes to Midwest
• 2:28
Speaker 1: Honer Flight. So it's open to everyone, right absolutely, Yep.
• 2:31
Speaker 2: We want to as many people as we can to
• 2:32
Speaker 2: come out and every dollar helps us get these flights
• 2:35
Speaker 2: off the ground. And with rising cost of everything, Fundraisers
• 2:39
Speaker 2: like this are crucial to making these flights happen for
• 2:42
Speaker 2: for our American heroes. And so if you know a
• 2:43
Speaker 2: veteran and you want to support the work that we do,
• 2:47
Speaker 2: come on out to the Barrelhouse on August seventeen. We'd
• 2:49
Speaker 2: love to see everyone out there. And again, all those
• 2:52
Speaker 2: funds go towards our missions of getting our veterans to Washington.
• 2:56
Speaker 1: In Midwest Honor Flight serves the Midwest, so it's not
• 2:59
Speaker 1: just Sioux Falls veterans from the whole Midwest that are
• 3:02
Speaker 1: a part of this, and again, people from anywhere in
• 3:04
Speaker 1: this area are welcome to show up that day. The
• 3:06
Speaker 1: Barrel House is in Sioux Falls, and again it's kind
• 3:09
Speaker 1: of on the southern side of Sioux Falls. Fifty seventh Street,
• 3:12
Speaker 1: I believe is the street that it's on. So if
• 3:15
Speaker 1: you want to join them at the Barrel House, again,
• 3:17
Speaker 1: it's on Monday, August seventeenth. Midwest Honor Flight is the
• 3:22
Speaker 1: recipient for that day of giving and this is a
• 3:24
Speaker 1: great way to do something good for a great group.
• 3:26
Speaker 1: And if people would like to learn more about Midwest
• 3:28
Speaker 1: Houner Flight, what is the best way for them to
• 3:29
Speaker 1: find you is the website Facebook or kind of all
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: of the above.
• 3:32
Speaker 2: Absolutely, we've got website Midwest onnerflight dot org. You can
• 3:35
Speaker 2: also find us on Facebook. I've got lots of information,
• 3:38
Speaker 2: lots of events are posted on those for when we
• 3:41
Speaker 2: go on our flights as well. Our Facebook page has
• 3:43
Speaker 2: a lot of pictures from the day to the so
• 3:45
Speaker 2: you can see exactly where these funds are going. So
• 3:47
Speaker 2: we'd love to see everybody out and appreciate you guys
• 3:49
Speaker 2: sharing the our event for us as well. John.
• 3:51
Speaker 1: Absolutely, again, it is coming up Monday, the seventeenth of August.
• 3:54
