This year’s Santa Monica Fourth of July Parade is flipping its route for the first time since 2022 — starting at Marine Street and heading north to Pico Boulevard — to seamlessly connect with the brand-new “Pulse in the Park” World Cup-themed festival at Tongva Park. Celebrating both America’s 250th birthday and Route 66’s 100th anniversary, the parade also honors Dr. Walid Ghurabi, UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center’s longtime medical director, as grand marshal.
