- 0:01Exodus chapter 10, Let us pray, our Father who is in heaven,
- 0:06holy is your name, your Kingdom come and your will be done on
- 0:10this earth just as it is there in heaven.
- 0:13Give us this day Our Daily Bread.
- 0:16Forgive us for our many sins as we forgive those who trespass
- 0:20against us. Lead us not into temptation God,
- 0:23but deliver us from the evil one.
- 0:25For yours is the power and the Kingdom and the glory and the
- 0:29honor forever and ever. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
- 0:38Well, let's start in verse one. And the Lord said unto Moses, Go
- 0:44into Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart
- 0:48of his servants, that I might show these my signs before him.
- 0:52So we're about to see this plague of locusts.
- 0:55We see that Pharaoh's heart was already hardened by his own
- 0:59accord, but God had allowed it. Friends, God can literally do
- 1:04anything. He can stop it, but He's allowed
- 1:07Pharaoh's heart to be hardened in this moment.
- 1:09And it does not excuse Pharaoh, friends.
- 1:12No, No more than it would have excused.
- 1:20No more than it would have excused Judas when he tried to
- 1:26sell our Lord out or throw the money back in the temple.
- 1:30It just does not work that way. So Pharaoh's heart was hardened
- 1:33by himself, but God allowed it in the same way that he allowed
- 1:37Judas to sell our Lord out. And it worked out, and he wrote
- 1:42about it and he knew it would happen.
- 1:44And this is one of the hardest lessons we must learn about God
- 1:47and the way that God operates. God can stop it all, friends.
- 1:51He can stop every disease, He can stop every car accident, He
- 1:55can stop every tragedy. But for the greater good of his
- 2:00glory, he allows things to happen, friends.
- 2:03And in the end, no one ever really dies.
- 2:06And we're going to spend eternity somewhere.
- 2:08And there's only two options, friends.
- 2:11There's not a third options. There's no purgatory, there's no
- 2:14praying people out of hell. There's no baptism for the dead
- 2:18that gets people out of hell. Friends, it is only two options.
- 2:22And the moment that you take your last breath, you will
- 2:27immediately go to one of those places to in that you may tell
- 2:37in the ears of your son and of your son's son what things I
- 2:40have wrought in Egypt, in my signs which I've done among
- 2:43them, that you may know that I am the Lord.
- 2:47So this is a generational story that'll be told from this time
- 2:52all the way till now. And you and I are blessed
- 2:55because of the words that are contained here in the book of
- 2:59Exodus. And we can see how God works in
- 3:01his character and how he cares for those that are oppressed and
- 3:06in bondage and in slavery, and he wants to set them free.
- 3:10And only Jesus has the key to do that.
- 3:13Three. And Moses and Aaron came in unto
- 3:16Pharaoh and said to him, This is what the Lord God of the Hebrews
- 3:20says. How long will you refuse to
- 3:23humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may
- 3:28serve me. So here God is asking Pharaoh
- 3:33through Moses and Aaron, how long are you going to keep
- 3:36stringing me along? Let them go before something
- 3:39worst comes upon you, For else if you refuse to let my people
- 3:47go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your coast. 5
- 3:54And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be
- 3:57able to see the earth. And they shall eat the residue
- 4:00of that which is escape, which remain unto you from the hail,
- 4:04and you shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the
- 4:08field. So they're going to come in and
- 4:10devour all the crops, they're going to come in where you can't
- 4:13even see the ground six. And they shall fill your houses
- 4:18and the houses of your servants, and the houses of all the
- 4:22Egyptians, which neither your father nor your father's fathers
- 4:26have seen since the day that they were upon the earth, until
- 4:29this day. And he turned himself and went
- 4:32out from Pharaoh. So he didn't even give Pharaoh
- 4:34the opportunity to even respond. He told him what was going to
- 4:38happen. And it was period and it was end
- 4:40of story. 7 And Pharaoh's servant said to him, How long
- 4:45shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may
- 4:52serve the Lord their God. Do you not know that Egypt is
- 4:57destroyed? Think about it, friends.
- 5:02From the staff and the leprosy, to the water turned to blood,
- 5:08the frogs and the lice, The hail mixed with fire.
- 5:13The frogs, friends, the locusts here, think about it.
- 5:19Think of all of the things that have happened, the cattle dying,
- 5:23the boils all over everyone, the sores that were pussing.
- 5:29And that is what is mentioned here.
- 5:31And Pharaoh should have listened to his circus clowns when they
- 5:36told him that this was the finger of God.
- 5:41And here they doubled down. And they say, How long before
- 5:46you finally give up? Do you not know that all of
- 5:50Egypt is destroyed? 8 And Moses and Aaron were
- 5:59brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, Go serve the Lord
- 6:05your God. But who are they that shall go?
- 6:08So you can see his heart is hardened.
- 6:11He calls them back in. Up until this point they had to
- 6:14ask for a time to go and speak to Pharaoh, and now Pharaoh for
- 6:21the first time, he sends them people to gather them to come
- 6:26and talk to him. You see how he's getting broke
- 6:29down here? 9 And Moses said, We will go
- 6:33with our young, with our old, with our sons, with our
- 6:36daughters, and with our flocks, with our herds, we will go, for
- 6:40we may hold a feast unto the Lord.
- 6:42So Pharaoh wants to know who all is going to go, and Moses says
- 6:48every single man, woman, child and beast must go.
- 6:54This was a mass exodus, Tandon. He said to them, let the word be
- 7:01so with you, and I will let you go.
- 7:03And your little ones look to it, for evil is before you.
- 7:08So Pharaoh's saying, if you do not just go for three days and
- 7:12come back, then you are doing evil, and let something worse
- 7:18come upon you. 11 Not so go now you that are men and serve the
- 7:24Lord, for that you did desire, they were driven out from
- 7:29Pharaoh's presence. So he's saying only let the men
- 7:32go, because that's what you said in the beginning, where only the
- 7:35men were going. And here Pharaoh's wanting to
- 7:38hold hostage the women and the children and the cattle, and he
- 7:42is only giving concessions to the men leaving. 12 And the Lord
- 7:49said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for
- 7:54the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and
- 7:58eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail has left.
- 8:02And Moses stretched forth his wrought over the land of Egypt.
- 8:06And the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day
- 8:09and all that night. And when it was morning, the
- 8:11east wind brought the locusts. 14 And the locusts went up over
- 8:19all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coast of
- 8:22Egypt. Very grievous were they.
- 8:25Before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after
- 8:30them shall there be such. There's never been anything like
- 8:34this, and there never had been anything like this.
- 8:38This was a one time event unlike anything that this world has
- 8:42ever known, unlike anything that we could study, friends, any
- 8:46kind of locust event that's ever happened.
- 8:49This was by far the most cataclysmic event, and you can
- 8:54see it mirrored in Revelation when the locusts come. 15 For
- 9:01they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land
- 9:04was darkened. And they did eat every herb of
- 9:07the land and the fruit of the trees which the hail had left.
- 9:10And they remained not any green thing in the trees or in the
- 9:13herbs of the field throughout all the land of Egypt.
- 9:16So they devoured everything that was edible. 16 And Pharaoh
- 9:22called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and he said, I've sinned
- 9:26against the Lord your God and against you.
- 9:29So Pharaoh was finally trying to come to his senses and he sees
- 9:33that he is undone and he is powerless and there's nothing he
- 9:36can do apart from surrendering unto a holy God.
- 9:41And that's where we all need to get to friends.
- 9:43Every single one of us needs to have a moment where we realize
- 9:48that there is no power within our own selves.
- 9:50It is only God who has all the power, and it gives you your
- 9:53very next breath, and it gives you the very next heartbeat, and
- 9:57it gives you the very next day, and it gives you your abilities
- 10:00to get up into work and to do the things in your eyesight and
- 10:03your ability to hear and your speech.
- 10:06Friends, God is the one who is in full control over our bodies
- 10:11and our minds and over our destinations, friends, and we
- 10:14just laid down and give Him His due reverence and all power and
- 10:18glory unto a holy God. 17 Now therefore forgive, I pray
- 10:39you, my sin only this once entreat the Lord your God, that
- 10:45he may take away from me this death only. 18 And he went out
- 10:51from Pharaoh and entreated the Lord. 19 And the Lord turned a
- 10:54mighty strong West wind, which took away the locust and cast
- 10:58them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust
- 11:02and all the coast of Egypt. 20 But the Lord hard in Pharaoh's
- 11:06heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
- 11:10So we can see time and time and time and time and time again,
- 11:14friends of this is Pharaoh doing, This is not God who is
- 11:19hardening Pharaoh's heart. This is Pharaoh who has hardened
- 11:25his heart, and God is allowing it. 21 And the Lord said unto
- 11:31Moses, Stretch out your hand towards heaven, that there may
- 11:35be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may
- 11:39be felt. So this is a darkness where you
- 11:45can't even see the hand in front of your face. 22 And Moses
- 11:51stretched forth his hand toward heaven.
- 11:54There was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt.
- 11:58Three days. 23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from
- 12:04his place for three days, but all the children of Israel had
- 12:08light in their dwelling. Imagine that, friends.
- 12:11Imagine how in the land of Egypt it was pitch black, could not
- 12:16see the hand in front of your face.
- 12:19But for the Israelites, they had the light.
- 12:22And this is synonymous to the world.
- 12:24They think that they've got it all together and they've got all
- 12:26the pieces of the puzzle and they can marginalized God and
- 12:30they can get rid of the Bible because it's barbaric and
- 12:33archaic and outdated and not relevant for our progressive
- 12:36society. But I need you to know, friends,
- 12:40at the end of the day, it is God who has the light of the world.
- 12:44And nothing will make sense until you finally surrender unto
- 12:48a holy God and he shines the light upon what's actually
- 12:51happening all around you in the world.
- 12:54And you will finally put your hand over your mouth and say,
- 12:58I've said too much God. Far be it from us to try to play
- 13:02God and to be God. Far be it from us to try to tell
- 13:06God how he should behave. Far be it from us to try to get
- 13:10rid of the holy, infallible, inerrant Word of God.
- 13:14It is the only lifeline that we have that will lead us home. 24
- 13:24And Pharaoh called to Moses and said, go, you serve the Lord
- 13:29only. Let your flocks and your herds
- 13:31be stayed. Let your little ones also go
- 13:34with you. So here he's trying to
- 13:36manipulate Moses and Aaron. He's saying you can go, your
- 13:40little ones can go, your wives can go, but leave the flocks.
- 13:47We can see here, friends, that it's all or nothing. 25 And
- 13:54Moses said, You must give us also sacrifice and burnt
- 13:59offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God. 26 Our
- 14:04cattle also shall go with us. There shall not a hoof be left
- 14:09behind, for thereof must we take to serve the Lord our God, and
- 14:14we know not with what, with what we must serve the Lord until we
- 14:19come there. So he's telling Pharaoh that
- 14:23they do not know what the sacrifice required will be until
- 14:26they get there. Therefore, they must take all of
- 14:29their cattle. So not only are they going to
- 14:32take their wives and children, but all of their livestock must
- 14:35go with them as well. And we know ultimately God's
- 14:39going to lead them out of Egypt, and He's going to settle them in
- 14:42the land of milk and honey. 27 But the Lord hard in Pharaoh's
- 14:49heart, and they would not let him go. 28 And Pharaoh said to
- 14:53him, Get you from me, take heed to yourself.
- 14:58See my face no more. For in that day that you see my
- 15:02face, you shall die. So finally we get to see the
- 15:06true Pharaoh come about. This is what he has been hiding
- 15:12and masking. This is what God knew about,
- 15:15because God can look into the matters of the heart.
- 15:20But here Pharaoh finally reveals his evil, murderous intent.
- 15:26He loathes the Jews. And it's no different in our
- 15:31time and our day. Friends, you see it.
- 15:34And it is satanic at its core, every single time period.
- 15:40End of story 29 and Moses say, do you have spoken?
- 15:48Well, I will see your face again.
- 15:50No more well in there friends. You have to stay tuned to see
- 15:57what happens. I have to check back in.
- 16:00I hope that you've been blessed by this amazing chapter in God's
- 16:03word. I know I sure have.
- 16:05I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 16:07I love you, God loves you. I'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 16:14God bless you.
