- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jack Wars fans, welcome in to do Vol.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Daily Prisoner by Jinjag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Lue, thanks so much for being here.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Wednesday, October 1st.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: We've got the Trayvon Walker injury update from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN who initially reported that Trayvon Walker was going to be seeking consultation from a specialist on his wrist injury.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Trayvon left the game against the 49ers after 12 plays.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: He was seen in the locker room after the game in a sling.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: visited with a specialist on Monday and now Jeremy Fowler reports that Trayvon Walker is considered weak to weak per a source close to the situation.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: So overall, I think, when you weigh the different possibilities, this is probably good news for the Jack Wars overall, weak to weak, and probably rules him out for
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Can't say to choose someone in a football, but that's not official yet.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: Week to week is still today, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, potentially getting ready for Monday.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: That seems unlikely, right?
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: But overall, you're not seeing Trayvon Walker to IR.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like, and by the way, the Jaguar has had several injuries,
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: In their week 4 win over the San Francisco 49ers, to keep players, you look at Patrick McCarrie, had an injury, Anton Harrison, Trayvon Walker, Eric Murray, Antonio Johnson, FOIA Luick and all those guys left the game at some point or another.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: There hasn't been any injury news to speak of on those guys, but the fact that they haven't been placed on IR is at least a good sign that there's nothing super serious with any of those players.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: At least that's what you would assume based on the fact that no one's been placed on IR.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's been, you know, three days after the game.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: So Trayvon Walker, week to week with the
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars following their Monday night game against the chiefs, they play the Seahawks, the following week on Sunday in Jacksonville, then they travel to London to host the Los Angeles Rams, and then they have their by week.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: So it would seem that the latest Travelling Walker would potentially be back as following that by week, but seems
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: possible at least that he could return for Seattle.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe for the London game?
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Impossible to know right now.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: This is just all speculation and we will hear from Liam Cohen tomorrow.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: He will speak with the media tomorrow.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Everything's been bumped back a day since the jackwars are playing Monday night football.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Everything gets moved back, right?
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: So tomorrow is like their Wednesday.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: They're no more Wednesday.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: So you'll hear from Liam Cohen.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I believe you'll also hear from the quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: I can confirm that real quick.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: And you'll get a little bit of an update.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen, for as candid as he is and open as he is, about a lot of things and press conferences and when speaking to the media, he does not really discuss injuries much at all.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: So this could be the actual best update we get on Trayvon Walker.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Very, very rarely does he really dive into injury news.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, help me with the media.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: Schedule for 10.30 a.m.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: tomorrow.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence in the afternoon, 230.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: So that's like their Wednesday Friday.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be like their Thursday, Saturday, we'll be like their Friday, so on and so forth.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: Sunday will be their day to get ready for Monday night.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Football 8th, 815 p.m.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: kickoff in Jacksonville.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're in the prowlers.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be previewing that game a lot.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's exciting.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: But Trayvon Walker, if he doesn't play in that game, which is my assumption at this point, but it isn't a assumption, because again, don't have a official word.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: If he does not play, does that impact the Jack Wars ability to rush for?
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think you really want to rush for against the chiefs, because Patrick Mahomes can eat up the
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Campony, Labor, Sandy Reed and Patrick Mahomes, I think, is a really enticing matchup.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think both coaching matchups on both sides are very enticing.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Liam Cohen versus Steve Spagnolo as well.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the way the chief's offense played last week and the way the Jaguar's defense has been playing, really could be fantastic.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: And you want to travel on Walker at full strength or available for the game.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: He is unavailable, does that impact your ability to rush for?
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, Patrick Mahomes can eat up teams when they send five or more.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that Jaguar can do to combat this is sim pressures.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not like Patrick Mahomes has never seen a sim pressure, but I think the way the Jaguar's communicate and execute that sim pressures would probably be,
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: the way to go more often than not.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jack Wars haven't been one of the heaviest blitz teams, but they have run a lot of sim pressures.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: They run a lot of games up front, stunts, loops, slants, to try to free up pressures.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to turn to the blitz more?
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: That could be dangerous in my opinion.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: That could be recipe for big plays for Patrick Mahomes and Company.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to have to rush more than four?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's my big question about this moving forward.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: And really, the chiefs is the game where you need drive on Walker and Josh Hines Island to be healthy.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not saying the Jaguars can't win this game without them.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think they can.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: They just play the 49ers pretty damn good.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: Got the W out there in San Francisco.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: But Trayvon Walker gives you that ability to really rush for.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: If you have Trayvon Walker, Josh Hines down in Eric Arms to, as three of your down-line men rushing at the quarterback, they don't have to be down-line men.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: If that's, if that's three of your front four rushing the quarterback, you have a chance to get home with four.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: And not really be all that exotic, but.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you still need to try to rush with four.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes five, you've got to blitz every now and then keep them honest, but you want Patrick Mahomes to not really know where it's coming from.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: You also want him to have a muddy picture on the back end, which I think Anthony Campanilly will do a good job of.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: But all this is just to say, I wonder how effective the Jaguars will be rushing with four without Trayvon Walker.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they were able to generate enough pressure against the 49ers last week.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Mostly without Trayvon Walker, 49ers offensive line.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think not as balanced as the chiefs offensive line, but I think the 49ers probably have better tackle play overall with my kivots and Trent Williams.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: I do love Josh Simmons and I, you know, it's DeWont Taylor still out there.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: I believe and they do have Jalen Moore, but I think, you know, DeWont Taylor's coming off a pretty good game.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: Specifically the edge rush with Trayvon Walker, not, you know, likely not being able to play.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's my big question.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, Jagsverse 49ers, they were able to rack up 23 pressures.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, they were getting pressures back there.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: No question about it, and you know, some of that was Devon Lloyd.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: And manual August stepped up and I thought was productive.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: He had four pressures.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Devon Hamilton was effective pushing the pocket to want smooth did some things as well.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to be fascinating to see really like how Anthony Campanella handles this against.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion the best quarterback in the league one of the best quarterbacks we've ever seen.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's the greatest of all time, and a lot of people will take a fence to that, but I do think Patrick McCombs is the best quarterback that I've ever seen play, greatest of all time, whatever you want to call it.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be tough.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Xavier wore these back.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: There's more speed on the field.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: They're feeling good about themselves.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: They've been in this big, prime time spot a lot, so
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: Not the week you want to lose Trayvon Walker, but overall the fact that you're probably not putting him on an IR, the fact that you're probably losing him for three games at most.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: You would think based on Jeremy Fowler's report.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: could be a whole lot worse.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
