With His New Shirts-Only Collection, Phillip Lim Wants to PlayLoveWin
“Dear World,” Phillip Lim announced via Instagram on July 21, “welcome to PlayLoveWin.” It was the designer’s first post in six months. Lim walked away from his two-decade-old namesake label 3.1 Phillip Lim in late 2024, and has been relatively quiet since.
He was off-the-grid in Asia—or as off-the-grid as Thailand’s 2025 Cultural Ambassador, a short-term side project he took on, can get—when he started cogitating on a more streamlined kind of fashion business, one in which he’d go deep on a single category.
