- 0:27Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:31Speaker 2: We might have taken the best quarterback out of the
- 0:33Speaker 2: bunch a couple of years ago.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Paul, you're not telling me things that I haven't said
- 0:38Speaker 3: in the past.
- 0:39Speaker 4: You have all these different elements. You know, they're running
- 0:41Speaker 4: like they ran counter bash in this.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Game, which I say, you're gonna drop a counter back.
- 0:44Speaker 4: They were not running counter bash in twenty eighteen with
- 0:47Speaker 4: Tom Brady, Like that's not that's not that elements of
- 0:51Speaker 4: the offense they.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Ran some counters in some bashes, but they didn't run
- 0:55Speaker 3: any counter bash.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Okay, Like Kyle Williams is not gonna he's not going
- 0:58Speaker 4: to be digging out the nickel.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Paul, power power what do you call me? Power slots?
- 1:04Speaker 4: Power slot? Yeah, he was. He was a little bit
- 1:06Speaker 4: more of that.
- 1:06Speaker 3: And he has a name for every power spots.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Power Freshing was the theme this offense set up and
- 1:12Speaker 2: play very was very refreshing.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I think I needed a Shower.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Evan impersonation to set the scene. The Patriots are in
- 1:19Speaker 2: fifty four personnel, five running backs, four.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Tight ends doesn't even exist.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Kyle william eves in motion and effectively acts as the
- 1:25Speaker 2: backside sniffer.
- 1:27Speaker 4: It's not the right thing.
- 1:28Speaker 2: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website.

- 1:37Speaker 2: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Wednesday here
- 1:42Speaker 2: at Less Stadium, and uh boy, I don't know how
- 1:46Speaker 2: we're gonna uh do this show on the heels of
- 1:49Speaker 2: that Catch twenty two episode.
- 1:51Speaker 1: They were going hard.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It was some epic episode you had there. I had
- 1:54Speaker 2: to take every power.
- 1:55Speaker 1: You look tired.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm just.
- 1:59Speaker 4: I really just kind of that was like I played
- 2:01Speaker 4: in the game, you know. Yeah, it was great.
- 2:04Speaker 2: God all right, but well, we're gonna try. It's Evan,
- 2:08Speaker 2: it's Paul, it's me, it's Deuce, it's Alex and Matt
- 2:10Speaker 2: and the booth. And it's turned the page day here
- 2:14Speaker 2: at Patriots Unfiltered. So we're gonna be turning mostly our
- 2:17Speaker 2: attention to the Buffalo Bills Sunday night matchup. Can't wait.
- 2:22Speaker 2: We'll have Mike Rabel At about twelve fifty five. It
- 2:25Speaker 2: has become the Wednesday. Custom Yep. Here, there's always something
- 2:31Speaker 2: that comes out of that. So definitely worth going to live.
- 2:35Speaker 2: So we'll do that when he's ready to go.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Other than that, like, what do we got a little
- 2:41Speaker 1: bit of breaking news right now?
- 2:44Speaker 5: Marcus Jones has won the AFC Special Teams Player of
- 2:47Speaker 5: the Week. This is the second time in four weeks
- 2:49Speaker 5: the Patriots have won that award, with time in three
- 2:52Speaker 5: weeks time three weeks with Antonio Gibson winning it down
- 2:55Speaker 5: there in Miami for his kickoff return.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So congratulations to Marcus Jones for this big day.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Jeremy Springer up for a raise, Well, I don't know
- 3:03Speaker 2: about that, Okay, Well, but let's see how it looks
- 3:06Speaker 2: in December.
- 3:07Speaker 3: First, Okay, can go a game without two penalties?
- 3:10Speaker 1: Yeah right, but no, that's it.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Look, they're a little bit up and down, but overall
- 3:15Speaker 5: I think they've been they've been pretty good, and they've
- 3:17Speaker 5: gotten a.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Lift from the return.
- 3:18Speaker 6: You know.
- 3:19Speaker 5: I I'd like to see borog Alice, you know, continue
- 3:22Speaker 5: to make his kicks and he'll be challenged this week
- 3:24Speaker 5: up in Buffalo for him, probably a little bit of yeah, check.
- 3:26Speaker 1: The weather, yeah, check the weather real quick.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah, let's but the weather is for Sunday night. Orchard Park. Yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 2: now Orchard Park. Don't do Buffalo. Okay, do Orchard Park
- 3:36Speaker 2: because that's very I got you.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I got you, yeah, because you got the it's coming
- 3:39Speaker 1: off the lake right.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Well, so is Buffalo, but it's a little bit for
- 3:43Speaker 2: I think Orchard Park's a little bit further in.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Oh bright, no getting lake effects, no worries.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Gorgeous, gorgeous, just you know.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Middle windy, windy, little windy. Uh let's it's always windy
- 3:54Speaker 4: and check the wind.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That doesn't look too bad. Actually I'm three to seven
- 3:57Speaker 1: miles per hour, but it does, say gus up to nineteen.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Their new stadium is not going to have They're actually
- 4:05Speaker 4: designing it to not have win be a factor in
- 4:08Speaker 4: the new Bills Stadium, which I think is surprising because
- 4:11Speaker 4: you know, it's always been even obviously the twenty twenty
- 4:14Speaker 4: one game is the big one, but it's all there's
- 4:16Speaker 4: always been wind impacted games.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Was that a nine game?
- 4:19Speaker 6: Was that?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Or was it a castle game?
- 4:21Speaker 5: Castle right, where like the uprights like sideways were literally
- 4:26Speaker 5: taking left and right turn.
- 4:28Speaker 3: The heat benches on the sideline were blowing onto the game.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It was that was significant.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yeah, And of course we had that win game with
- 4:38Speaker 2: Mac Jones where I think BZ or one of the
- 4:43Speaker 2: networks had to cancel their pregame show or bring it
- 4:47Speaker 2: somewhere else because the like pulse of the chairs that
- 4:50Speaker 2: they were sitting on were blowing onto the field and
- 4:53Speaker 2: you just couldn't you couldn't do a pregame show from
- 4:56Speaker 2: the field. It was so windy. It would never stop.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Bust stop, stop me.
- 5:00Speaker 4: No, it was that was devastating lead bad weather.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yep, so yep. A lot of miss kicks in Buffalo
- 5:07Speaker 2: over the years.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it doesn't look like too much of a
- 5:10Speaker 1: factor this week, hopefully.
- 5:11Speaker 5: But I mean, just diving in the Bills we touched
- 5:13Speaker 5: a little bit on yesterday, I mean, just what an
- 5:15Speaker 5: impressive team. So many little stat nuggets here as you
- 5:18Speaker 5: start to dig into what they do and where their
- 5:21Speaker 5: rankings are and all that kind of stuff. But just
- 5:22Speaker 5: I mean, I think Josh Allen is putting together another
- 5:25Speaker 5: MVP type season right now. I mean, and you just
- 5:28Speaker 5: watch him, and he's playing with all the confidence in
- 5:30Speaker 5: the world. Really respect how they've put their team together.
- 5:33Speaker 5: They had digs there, they got away from that iteration
- 5:36Speaker 5: and now this one is, you know, starting to really
- 5:39Speaker 5: really produce for them, so a lot of problems. Watched
- 5:43Speaker 5: a little bit of last year's game, which I recalled
- 5:45Speaker 5: i think one playoff when they went up there December
- 5:48Speaker 5: with Drake May throwing that touchdown past the booty. You
- 5:51Speaker 5: probably remember that one, Paul, right, That's about all I
- 5:53Speaker 5: remember from that game.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Which they had fourteen to nothing lead in that gay yah.
- 5:57Speaker 5: They had a fourteen to nothing lead but some turnover
- 6:00Speaker 5: and uh but I found that a little bit encouraging
- 6:02Speaker 5: at least that you know, you look back in retrospect,
- 6:04Speaker 5: and I'm sure I probably said it.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I say it all the time.
- 6:06Speaker 5: It's great to just get the kid experience on the
- 6:09Speaker 5: road in a stadium where he's.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Going to have to play.
- 6:11Speaker 5: So you've already played there when it's freezing and tough conditions.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Now he's going to get a chance to go back
- 6:16Speaker 5: up there, and I think you should have a little
- 6:17Speaker 5: bit of confidence.
- 6:18Speaker 1: There was you know, Romandre fumble.
- 6:20Speaker 5: There was also a later roal behind the line of
- 6:22Speaker 5: scrimmage they recovered in the end zone for a touchdown,
- 6:25Speaker 5: and that's how Buffalo kind of comayah. But one of
- 6:29Speaker 5: those games I would say where it didn't seem like
- 6:31Speaker 5: Buffalo was too excited or too interested in playing the
- 6:34Speaker 5: three and eleven Patriots. It was the eleven and three
- 6:36Speaker 5: Bills versus three and eleven Patriots, and Patriots came out
- 6:39Speaker 5: to a lead, but the Bills do what they do.
- 6:40Speaker 5: They just kept chipping it away. James Cook had a
- 6:43Speaker 5: long touchdown run. So I'm talking about this game as
- 6:45Speaker 5: if it was the first time I ever saw it,
- 6:47Speaker 5: and that's kind of what it felt like, because they
- 6:49Speaker 5: all play together.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, don't they.
- 6:52Speaker 3: I mean, like the last couple of years, like these games.
- 6:54Speaker 3: This is I was reading Mike Giardi today on the
- 6:57Speaker 3: Boston Sports Journal and he just not in depth at
- 7:01Speaker 3: all about this Buffalo game, but saying it's the biggest
- 7:05Speaker 3: game that the Patriots have probably had in a couple
- 7:08Speaker 3: of seasons. And depending on what game you want to identify,
- 7:12Speaker 3: you probably go back to, like he went back to
- 7:15Speaker 3: Thanksgiving in Minnesota. That was it twenty two? Yeah, yeah,
- 7:20Speaker 3: when they Henry Yes, yeah, the contested touchdown that the
- 7:24Speaker 3: Patriots got screwed on that call at the goal line,
- 7:28Speaker 3: no surprise. Fred remembers when they get screwed. I remember that,
- 7:32Speaker 3: but yeah, that you know, that was a game that
- 7:35Speaker 3: sort of, you know, had the Patriots won that game,
- 7:38Speaker 3: maybe they you know, the stretch drive of that season
- 7:41Speaker 3: unfolds a little bit differently. But they really haven't had
- 7:44Speaker 3: any what you would call significant games since.
- 7:47Speaker 7: Now.
- 7:47Speaker 5: That makes me feel better because that's exactly the thought
- 7:49Speaker 5: process I was going through is watching this game and
- 7:50Speaker 5: I'm like, how can I am I getting into the
- 7:52Speaker 5: Paul Perillo territory? I like, you won't ask me about
- 7:55Speaker 5: that three AFC championship against the Colts, Like, yeah, I
- 7:58Speaker 5: can tell you all about it. But last year in
- 8:01Speaker 5: December a game that you know didn't even happen like
- 8:03Speaker 5: eight months ago, Like what was that?
- 8:05Speaker 2: Again? What happened?
- 8:06Speaker 5: But they're doing me right the struggles though, but right
- 8:09Speaker 5: the struggle games where there's not a lot to be
- 8:11Speaker 5: excited about or you know, coming out of it.
- 8:14Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't think positive which are much different
- 8:18Speaker 2: over the last few years. I try to erase them
- 8:20Speaker 2: from my memory.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Yes, I think that's part of the reason why we
- 8:24Speaker 3: have a hard time is because they just they're all
- 8:26Speaker 3: so irrelevant, right, you know, when you go four and
- 8:28Speaker 3: thirteen consecutive seasons. None of the games were really you
- 8:32Speaker 3: know right important?
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yeap, So what do we want to tackle?
- 8:37Speaker 5: Uh, like James Cook, because you can't tackle those guys.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Get to know, you tackle an opportunity here though, you know,
- 8:45Speaker 3: there's been some some talk like they're two and two
- 8:52Speaker 3: and they've made some strides to get out of the
- 8:56Speaker 3: lower tier, you know, closer to one of the middle tiers. Right,
- 9:00Speaker 3: So you have an opportunity in the National Spotlight Sunday night,
- 9:04Speaker 3: and I know Mike Rabel's really excited about it. You
- 9:07Speaker 3: know from some of the stuff that we put out.
- 9:10Speaker 3: This is an opportunity to sort of take a step forward.
- 9:14Speaker 3: And if you want to be in the playoff chase,
- 9:17Speaker 3: these are the kinds of games that you you need
- 9:19Speaker 3: to win. These are the kinds of games you need
- 9:20Speaker 3: to go on the road and and put your best
- 9:23Speaker 3: foot forward. So, I what are you going to tackle this?
- 9:27Speaker 3: They got to tackle an opportunity to say we're going
- 9:30Speaker 3: to be one of those teams, not one of the
- 9:32Speaker 3: teams that we've been the last couple of years, We're
- 9:34Speaker 3: going to be one of the contenders.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I wanted to ask you guys about you know,
- 9:40Speaker 4: I know the game was here, but the one game
- 9:42Speaker 4: against the Rams in the regular season, because I feel
- 9:44Speaker 4: like that game always gets talked about as like the
- 9:47Speaker 4: night we knew that they were going to be show
- 9:51Speaker 4: and they didn't win. They really like kind of backdoored
- 9:55Speaker 4: into even making it a one score game. But they
- 9:58Speaker 4: would hung with the Rams. They had a lead in
- 10:00Speaker 4: the first half. Like, is that that game in my
- 10:04Speaker 4: off base? Because I was that was true.
- 10:09Speaker 2: So from a physicality standpoint, they definitely won that game.
- 10:14Speaker 2: They didn't on the scoreboard obviously, but like you said,
- 10:16Speaker 2: they hung with these the greatest show on turf.
- 10:19Speaker 3: It was the opposite of what you would think, like
- 10:21Speaker 3: the teams that's trying to pull the upsets and finish, no,
- 10:25Speaker 3: But the team that's trying to pull the upset, you
- 10:26Speaker 3: would think, well, they need everything to go right and
- 10:28Speaker 3: the other team needs to play poorly. It was the opposite.
- 10:31Speaker 3: The Patriots made all the mistakes, they turned the ball over,
- 10:33Speaker 3: and they had only themselves to blame at the end
- 10:35Speaker 3: of the game. And I don't know what else you're
- 10:38Speaker 3: going to say, Well, now, in retrospect, apologize.
- 10:41Speaker 2: In retrospect, we know now how talented that team actually
- 10:45Speaker 2: was especially you know, I don't think we appreciated it
- 10:48Speaker 2: at the time as we were coming off such a
- 10:51Speaker 2: dismal season beforehand. And I don't think this team is
- 10:55Speaker 2: quite as talented as that team was. That that team
- 10:58Speaker 2: never lost again.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Had the greatest quarterback of all time and two Hall
- 11:01Speaker 1: of Famers on team.
- 11:02Speaker 2: So even if you win this game, I'm not sure
- 11:05Speaker 2: that we can approach what they did in O one,
- 11:08Speaker 2: but it would definitely be a barometer of Okay, this team,
- 11:13Speaker 2: you know, is finding out how to win.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that was why I brought it up. You know,
- 11:18Speaker 4: obviously the caveat they're not going to win nine straight
- 11:20Speaker 4: games and win the Super Bowl if they beat Buffalo.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Everybody kind of knows that. But that game was a
- 11:26Speaker 4: game that they started to believe, like, they started to
- 11:29Speaker 4: believe that they had the talent and they had the
- 11:32Speaker 4: ability to hang with the elite teams in the NFL.
- 11:34Speaker 4: So all I'm hoping for out of this game on
- 11:37Speaker 4: Sunday Night is like, can you just hang with Buffalo
- 11:39Speaker 4: and truly for four quarters? Like make the Bills sweat
- 11:42Speaker 4: it out a little bit and really push them a
- 11:44Speaker 4: little bit in this game. And I think you can
- 11:47Speaker 4: have a moral moral victory in a game like this,
- 11:50Speaker 4: where if you do that and now you go into
- 11:53Speaker 4: the next week and you have New Orleans and Cleveland
- 11:55Speaker 4: and Tennessee and some of the easier soft spots of
- 11:58Speaker 4: the schedule, you you could really have some momentum even
- 12:02Speaker 4: if you don't actually pull it off.
- 12:04Speaker 2: So I remember, I don't know how many years it
- 12:06Speaker 2: was ago. A couple of years ago, the whole moral
- 12:09Speaker 2: victory became a topic and moral loss. People were being
- 12:13Speaker 2: made fun of for saying, oh, that was a moral victory.
- 12:17Speaker 2: If we say, if it comes true what Evan's saying,
- 12:21Speaker 2: that they hang and it's a close game, but they
- 12:24Speaker 2: end up losing, and it's called a moral victory, will
- 12:26Speaker 2: it have the same Will people be made fun of
- 12:29Speaker 2: this year for saying that.
- 12:31Speaker 5: I would say, if they go toe to toe with
- 12:33Speaker 5: them offensively and they put points up on the board
- 12:35Speaker 5: and they you know, they score, Patriots score, they score
- 12:38Speaker 5: paid you know that kind of game. You know, if
- 12:41Speaker 5: the Bills are up big and then they have a
- 12:42Speaker 5: couple fourth quarter garbage time drives to make it.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Look closer than you know.
- 12:46Speaker 5: It's like Paul always says, you got to see it,
- 12:47Speaker 5: but I just don't want to set it up to
- 12:49Speaker 5: be that. I think that this team has a chance
- 12:51Speaker 5: to go up there and make some noise. And you know,
- 12:53Speaker 5: from talking to ev speaking with some of the Buffalo guys,
- 12:55Speaker 5: it doesn't sound like Buffalo's going to take the Patriots lightly.
- 12:58Speaker 5: I think that they have been you know, they're aware
- 13:00Speaker 5: of Drake may playing pretty well right now. And I
- 13:03Speaker 5: don't think that Buffalo is going to do what they
- 13:05Speaker 5: did last week against the Saints as much.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I mean, it's a divisional game.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Might makes a good point about seeing how the game unfolds,
- 13:11Speaker 3: but I don't love the you know, the sort of
- 13:14Speaker 3: the idea of a moral victory. But I think you
- 13:18Speaker 3: absolutely can have a situation like the one that Fred
- 13:21Speaker 3: brought up in the postgame show in oh one that
- 13:24Speaker 3: Evan just brought back. Yes, I'm sure that they didn't
- 13:28Speaker 3: look at it as a moral victory at the time,
- 13:30Speaker 3: but more importantly, what did it mean to the players
- 13:34Speaker 3: and what did the players think to themselves, Like, Yeah,
- 13:37Speaker 3: this is the best team in the league and they
- 13:39Speaker 3: weren't any better than us. We can play with them.
- 13:42Speaker 3: So I think that that does give you confidence. And
- 13:44Speaker 3: where Fred and I started to talk about this on
- 13:46Speaker 3: the postgame show. Is what you just mentioned, Ev, It's
- 13:50Speaker 3: New Orleans, Tennessee, Cleveland. Well, if you do get the
- 13:55Speaker 3: infusion of confidence that comes with going toe to toe
- 13:58Speaker 3: with a buffalo, need to take care of business in
- 14:01Speaker 3: those three games.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yah, it's not enough.
- 14:04Speaker 3: You know, one thing is remembered so fondly because they
- 14:07Speaker 3: want not just because not just because they won the
- 14:10Speaker 3: Super Bowl, but they then went on and won these
- 14:12Speaker 3: games against teams that they should have beaten.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 3: So the Patriots need to do the same thing in
- 14:17Speaker 3: order to get a moral victory out of there.
- 14:20Speaker 2: And you know when we talk about moral victory and
- 14:23Speaker 2: how it will mean to the players after that Pittsburgh game,
- 14:26Speaker 2: remember I said, it's the kind of I want to
- 14:29Speaker 2: get out there again, you know, like we can do this.
- 14:31Speaker 2: And I think if we have that moral victory against
- 14:35Speaker 2: the Bills, players might feel that way like we should.
- 14:38Speaker 2: We could have won that game. I can't wait till
- 14:41Speaker 2: Sunday so we can go out against you know, another
- 14:44Speaker 2: team and really show who we are.
- 14:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I almost felt like that in this last game, even
- 14:49Speaker 1: though it was you know, blow out.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Like I think at halftime, I wanted to be like,
- 14:51Speaker 5: can we just fast forward and keep this rolling to
- 14:53Speaker 5: the next week, you know, like just keep saying some
- 14:55Speaker 5: of these points for the Bills, save.
- 14:57Speaker 1: It for the Bills.
- 14:58Speaker 5: But it's a it's a big challenge, and I you
- 15:00Speaker 5: know what, but I still give the Patriots of a
- 15:02Speaker 5: punchers chance.
- 15:03Speaker 1: It's the NFL.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Sure, it's certainly not the It's not quite as overwhelming
- 15:07Speaker 5: as it's been in a couple of years where you
- 15:09Speaker 5: feel like you have some players like Williams and Barmore
- 15:12Speaker 5: who are gonna cause some problems. But I mean, Josh
- 15:15Speaker 5: Allen's the least pressured quarterback in the league. So you know,
- 15:18Speaker 5: there's there's a lot of really interesting things about this.
- 15:21Speaker 2: You think that's because teams are afraid to sell out
- 15:24Speaker 2: against him.
- 15:25Speaker 6: I think so.
- 15:26Speaker 4: And we were talking about this on catch twenty two.
- 15:29Speaker 4: At the end of catch twenty two. One of the
- 15:31Speaker 4: things that I've been thinking about in terms of, you know,
- 15:34Speaker 4: defending the Bills offense, Teams are are just backing off
- 15:39Speaker 4: of this Bill's offense, and the Bills are just killing
- 15:41Speaker 4: them in yards after the catch, Like they're averaging seven
- 15:45Speaker 4: yards after the catch. Perceptions Number one in the league,
- 15:48Speaker 4: So they're just racking up these exposive plays on catch
- 15:51Speaker 4: and run, dump off passes, screens, like because guys are
- 15:55Speaker 4: giving them eight yards of cushion, you know, before the
- 15:58Speaker 4: ball is even snapped. Because nobody wants to get into
- 16:01Speaker 4: playground football against Josh Allen where he's got man to
- 16:04Speaker 4: man coverage and everybody's back is to the quarterback and
- 16:06Speaker 4: he's just running around. But I get that that can
- 16:10Speaker 4: be risky. But at the same time, if you win
- 16:13Speaker 4: some rounds playing him that way, where you might get
- 16:16Speaker 4: some negative plays by sacking him, or you might get
- 16:19Speaker 4: a turnover to by him getting a little bit too
- 16:22Speaker 4: aggressive and trying to throw a ball that he really
- 16:24Speaker 4: shouldn't throw, then maybe you can steal some possessions that
- 16:29Speaker 4: way and give yourself a chance. These teams that are
- 16:32Speaker 4: backing off, like Allen's just dicing them up, like he's
- 16:35Speaker 4: literally just dicing them up underneath their run game is
- 16:38Speaker 4: incredibly efficient. Yeah, Like it's just not there's no resistance
- 16:43Speaker 4: and he's evolved so much that he's just taking profits,
- 16:47Speaker 4: Like he's not pushing it into windows. He shouldn't push
- 16:50Speaker 4: it into anymore. So it's risky, Like there's definitely kind
- 16:55Speaker 4: of like Week one, there could be some boom or
- 16:56Speaker 4: bust to it if they do get aggressive against him.
- 16:59Speaker 4: But yeah, have Gonzo back, like you have the cornerbacks
- 17:02Speaker 4: on the outside to technically hang with them. I just
- 17:05Speaker 4: wonder if they try it a little bit in this
- 17:07Speaker 4: game because everybody else, you know, we were talking about
- 17:10Speaker 4: how kind of like the Dynasty Patriots, everybody would be
- 17:13Speaker 4: afraid and they would do stupid things, trying out smart
- 17:16Speaker 4: themselves to try to do things. And like, I feel
- 17:19Speaker 4: like this Bills team, everybody is just playing cover two,
- 17:22Speaker 4: Like we're all just let's get back, let's sit and
- 17:25Speaker 4: stare at Josh.
- 17:26Speaker 2: So whatever the game plan is on defense this year
- 17:30Speaker 2: for the pay this week for the Patriots, is that
- 17:32Speaker 2: Zach kor is that Rabel? Really?
- 17:35Speaker 4: Probably it's probably collaboratory.
- 17:38Speaker 2: You know who says, you know what, we're going to
- 17:40Speaker 2: be aggressible.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Well, I think like you know, Scott Booker and Rabel
- 17:43Speaker 4: and they get together do the past game, and then
- 17:45Speaker 4: Zach Kerr and maybe the defensive line coach they get
- 17:48Speaker 4: together do run game. Then they all come together and
- 17:50Speaker 4: they do a third down in red zone.
- 17:52Speaker 5: And so it's like a collaborative who overall says this
- 17:55Speaker 5: is the style of defense, sets the tone and says, look,
- 17:58Speaker 5: you know, this is how we want to play like you,
- 18:00Speaker 5: using terms like aggressive and you know, and then the
- 18:03Speaker 5: assistant coaches go off, put the game, cling together, and
- 18:05Speaker 5: then I think varybel overseas and says, all right, I
- 18:08Speaker 5: like this, We're gonna, you know, have.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Put these blitzes in. You know, we got them with
- 18:11Speaker 1: stuff like this in the past, those kind of things.
- 18:13Speaker 1: All right, my impression of it. But okay, yeah, just
- 18:16Speaker 1: one not on the inside.
- 18:17Speaker 4: So do you not the coordinator though?
- 18:20Speaker 3: No, But do you think that they might be better
- 18:22Speaker 3: suited because of the improvement up front to maybe be
- 18:25Speaker 3: a little more aggressive.
- 18:26Speaker 6: Yes, they have been.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I think you combine that with, as Evan said, your
- 18:31Speaker 2: two corners. I think that allows you to take more chances,
- 18:34Speaker 2: or it should allow you to take more chance.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, like duce just right off the stat
- 18:38Speaker 4: Josh Allen's the least pressured quarterback in the league. I
- 18:41Speaker 4: don't think that that's just because they're offensive line, which
- 18:43Speaker 4: is really good. But I don't think that that's just
- 18:45Speaker 4: because their offensive line is dominant. I think that's also
- 18:48Speaker 4: because everybody's just rushing four against him because they're terrified
- 18:51Speaker 4: to blitz them. Yeah, and I just I don't know
- 18:53Speaker 4: if that again, Like I think that, yeah, maybe you
- 18:56Speaker 4: could hold him to like thirty one if you play
- 18:59Speaker 4: that way, because they do have to go on longer drives.
- 19:01Speaker 4: But they're just sucking the life out of teams.
- 19:03Speaker 2: If I'm vayble, I'm saying to my team defensively, we're
- 19:08Speaker 2: not gonna tiptoe into this game. We're gonna we're gonna
- 19:11Speaker 2: knock down doors. But I wonder and if we start
- 19:14Speaker 2: getting burned, we'll make adjustments in the second half. But
- 19:17Speaker 2: we're gonna go out to disrupt this team and we're
- 19:20Speaker 2: gonna play really aggressive that first half.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Right, But I'm just wondering what the best way to
- 19:25Speaker 3: be aggressive is. If I know, the first four games
- 19:29Speaker 3: they haven't played a team like Buffalo, But you know,
- 19:32Speaker 3: can Williams, Barmore and Landry Can those guys affect Josh
- 19:36Speaker 3: Allen in this game and allow you to keep guys
- 19:39Speaker 3: back in coverage. It's not necessarily you don't have to
- 19:42Speaker 3: back off, like you can be more aggressive in your coverage,
- 19:45Speaker 3: Like I think what Evan's saying about giving them a
- 19:48Speaker 3: little too much respect might be accurate, but some of
- 19:51Speaker 3: these teams might not be able to get the pressure
- 19:53Speaker 3: with four by playing with coverage. I think the Patriots
- 19:56Speaker 3: have shown at times, not consistently, but at times they
- 19:59Speaker 3: can get pressure with four. Yeah, but so can you
- 20:01Speaker 3: do that? That to me is very aggressive If you
- 20:03Speaker 3: can get after Josh Allen. Some teams don't.
- 20:06Speaker 2: But see, I'm not just talking about when he drops back.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I'm talking about loading the box early and trying to
- 20:13Speaker 2: stop Cooks early and relying on single coverage behind that.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I don't I don't like that putting an extra guy
- 20:20Speaker 2: up there and saying we're going to try to force
- 20:23Speaker 2: you into third and long.
- 20:24Speaker 4: I'm with you, Fred, like, I don't like that. No,
- 20:28Speaker 4: I think everybody else has played them called the way
- 20:30Speaker 4: that you want them to play, Like, that's how I.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Want to get after Josh Allen.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Okay, but you can't get after him because if you
- 20:36Speaker 4: have everybody that's just dropping off into his own coverage
- 20:39Speaker 4: and staring at him like there's no pass rush.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Doesn't that to well? I mean, I get you don't
- 20:43Speaker 3: want to do a lot of man again, I get it,
- 20:46Speaker 3: I get it.
- 20:46Speaker 4: I think the biggest thing to me is like I
- 20:48Speaker 4: look at their offense and I look at their receivers,
- 20:51Speaker 4: and I'm not blown away by the talent at wide receiver.
- 20:54Speaker 4: So like you have these two corners that you pay
- 20:56Speaker 4: a lot of money to to go out there and
- 20:59Speaker 4: play man to man like let him eat, like you
- 21:01Speaker 4: get so Kean Coleman's gonna beat Carlton Davis, Like, I
- 21:05Speaker 4: don't think that now sheak Here's a problem, like Shaquires
- 21:08Speaker 4: is a different because of the way they use him
- 21:10Speaker 4: as a problem. But like I just I feel good
- 21:13Speaker 4: about their corners holding up against the Bills receivers.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I really do.
- 21:16Speaker 3: But I don't see I don't think that I agree
- 21:19Speaker 3: with you on Coleman, but I think more of the
- 21:21Speaker 3: other guys than you do, and Kinkaid specifically, And I
- 21:25Speaker 3: I'm not sure that you can just ask everybody to
- 21:27Speaker 3: hold up and we're gonna put eight in the box
- 21:29Speaker 3: to make Like I just think that if you want
- 21:31Speaker 3: to do that, then they'll throw it on you. Yeah,
- 21:33Speaker 3: I think most teams are like Evan said that, they
- 21:35Speaker 3: don't they they'll.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Use a creeper. Paul, No, you don't.
- 21:38Speaker 3: You don't declare it so I think that James Cook
- 21:40Speaker 3: is really good good, but I think that that's what
- 21:44Speaker 3: the other team is giving them because it doesn't allow
- 21:48Speaker 3: you to get blown out right away. Yeah, sure, it
- 21:50Speaker 3: takes longer. So I agree. I think Belichick has done
- 21:54Speaker 3: that kind of defense millions of times in the past
- 21:57Speaker 3: with great success.
- 21:59Speaker 4: I told you here what you're saying, and there's definitely
- 22:01Speaker 4: a case for that strategy. I just when you come
- 22:04Speaker 4: out in too high against this team. They're killing teams
- 22:08Speaker 4: in the run game, and they're killing teams in the
- 22:10Speaker 4: short passing game. And Brady, their offensive coordinator, is really
- 22:14Speaker 4: good at scheming ways to get Khalil secure in space,
- 22:18Speaker 4: and they motioned him all over the place and he's
- 22:20Speaker 4: constantly moving where he's at.
- 22:22Speaker 2: You have to make plays on defense. You can't rely
- 22:26Speaker 2: on them to make the mistake.
- 22:27Speaker 4: That's this Bill's offense doesn't make mistakes anymore.
- 22:30Speaker 1: You have tos. That's it right there.
- 22:33Speaker 5: I mean, I I kind of I think I'm more
- 22:36Speaker 5: scared of the tight ends and Cook just because I
- 22:39Speaker 5: don't have a lot of you know, I'm still not
- 22:41Speaker 5: sure about the Patriots run defense.
- 22:43Speaker 1: And you know, I agree with what Evan's saying.
- 22:45Speaker 5: I can easily see, Yeah, we took their receivers out
- 22:48Speaker 5: of it, but they just killed us with the tight
- 22:50Speaker 5: ends because we couldn't cover the tight ends.
- 22:52Speaker 3: And you know, I agree that none of these guys
- 22:55Speaker 3: individually scare me.
- 22:57Speaker 1: But the group, right, damn, that's what's so good about
- 23:00Speaker 1: their team.
- 23:00Speaker 5: And it's you know, it's almost I said to Evan,
- 23:02Speaker 5: I'm like, I almost feel like they have like five
- 23:04Speaker 5: number twos, you know, like it's like, maybe that's overstating
- 23:07Speaker 5: at a tiny bit, but everybody can make plays when
- 23:10Speaker 5: they have to. Nobody individually is going to blow you away,
- 23:14Speaker 5: and it's.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Just how do they approach it?
- 23:15Speaker 5: And I just think it's fair to point out one
- 23:17Speaker 5: more thing about the Patriots defense. It's spin the dial
- 23:20Speaker 5: with coverages. Like I mean, they just especially early on,
- 23:23Speaker 5: they play a lot of different stuff. So I you know,
- 23:25Speaker 5: as much as we sit here and say they should
- 23:26Speaker 5: do this or that, I have a feeling that it's
- 23:28Speaker 5: going to be a lot of stuff that they're going
- 23:30Speaker 5: to try to throw at him and try to you know,
- 23:32Speaker 5: every single coverage that there is, they're going to probably
- 23:35Speaker 5: try to run it at one point or another.
- 23:37Speaker 1: But what's finding that that winning game plan. Can you
- 23:39Speaker 1: stop the run with those four guys?
- 23:41Speaker 5: I mean, that's always appealing to me, being able to
- 23:43Speaker 5: just worry about the quarterback and the and the run
- 23:46Speaker 5: with the front four and the linebackers. But I just
- 23:48Speaker 5: I also, you know a couple of others I was
- 23:50Speaker 5: going through next Gen. You know, you come across like
- 23:52Speaker 5: random stats, but you know they they're first in the
- 23:54Speaker 5: league and inbreakers and second in slants.
- 23:56Speaker 6: So it's.
- 23:58Speaker 5: In the inside where the Patriots have had some trouble there.
- 24:02Speaker 5: So you know, it's just it's it's kind of pick
- 24:04Speaker 5: your poison and how do.
- 24:05Speaker 1: You want to lose the game or how do you
- 24:06Speaker 1: want to win the game.
- 24:07Speaker 4: And that's why I'd much rather lose the game the
- 24:09Speaker 4: Dalton Kincaid. Yeah, if Dalton Kinkaid and Jackson Hawes and
- 24:12Speaker 4: Dawson Knox beat you, then I think you as a Patriots,
- 24:16Speaker 4: you have to tip your cap and say that was
- 24:17Speaker 4: what we had to give you, Like, are you going
- 24:19Speaker 4: to give him cooking and chakir or are you going
- 24:21Speaker 4: to give him?
- 24:22Speaker 1: I just feel like Josh Allen's beating you.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I guess I look at it. I let Josh I
- 24:26Speaker 3: have my choice of letting Josh Allen beat me, James
- 24:29Speaker 3: Cook beat me, I'll let James Cook be Yeah, that.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Seems like that's the choice teams are primarily making.
- 24:34Speaker 5: But even when they're doing it both way, yes, I mean,
- 24:37Speaker 5: that's why they're trying to in both categories.
- 24:41Speaker 4: So it just you know that that's my whole thing.
- 24:44Speaker 4: I know, I probably think a little less of kinkaid
- 24:46Speaker 4: than than other people do. Just not my not my
- 24:49Speaker 4: flavor of tight end. You know, the the jumbo receivers
- 24:53Speaker 4: just don't do it for me like like it does
- 24:55Speaker 4: for other people. But at the same time, it if
- 24:58Speaker 4: that's if he ends up having a big game against
- 25:00Speaker 4: them and that's the reason why they lose, Like at
- 25:03Speaker 4: least he went into the game and you took away
- 25:04Speaker 4: their two best options, which are Shakiir and Cook.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it almost might be oversimplifying it, but
- 25:10Speaker 5: just like instead of all this tackle like to tackle
- 25:13Speaker 5: like that to me is a huge first step.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Like what we were talking about yesterday, do you spy
- 25:18Speaker 3: Josh Allen? And I was like, it's great that you
- 25:20Speaker 3: had someone that knew he was going to run, because
- 25:23Speaker 3: that's someone get him onto the ground because that's hard.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yeah, jack jacket and arbas says to play an effective,
- 25:29Speaker 2: aggressive defensive game against the Bills, the Patriots should take
- 25:31Speaker 2: the approach the Lions took against Lamar Jackson. Rush aggressively
- 25:36Speaker 2: upfield on the edges. This will force Josh Allen to
- 25:38Speaker 2: move up in the pocket. Put a spy on Allen,
- 25:41Speaker 2: and have the defensive tackles play with gap discipline. When
- 25:44Speaker 2: Allen moves up in the pocket, the spy and the
- 25:46Speaker 2: defensive tackles tackle him. So he does sounds easy.
- 25:49Speaker 4: He does run through the middle a lot, but he
- 25:53Speaker 4: when he goes, he's more dangerous when he extends to throw,
- 25:56Speaker 4: and he does extend to throw out of the back
- 25:58Speaker 4: of the pocket. So to Jackson point, like you have
- 26:01Speaker 4: to kind of pick your poison of like is he
- 26:03Speaker 4: going to run right through the gut of the defense
- 26:06Speaker 4: or do you want him to get on the edge
- 26:08Speaker 4: and start extending plays and looking for receivers down the field.
- 26:12Speaker 4: So he's you know, those are the kind of the
- 26:14Speaker 4: differences like when you run, when you cheat and kind
- 26:17Speaker 4: of have him go through the middle of the pocket.
- 26:19Speaker 4: He's not gonna throw like he's gonna take off. So
- 26:22Speaker 4: it depends on what you want to do. I mean,
- 26:24Speaker 4: New Orleans tried to do what Jack is saying and
- 26:26Speaker 4: then he ran for thirty freaking yards right up the
- 26:28Speaker 4: middle of the field and like like three tackles doing it.
- 26:31Speaker 4: So it's he's he's good. Like a tough matchup.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Dave wants to know, is this the game to bring
- 26:37Speaker 2: back the Longhorn package. They didn't run that last school.
- 26:42Speaker 2: They ran it with school last year too. I don't
- 26:44Speaker 2: know if he's playing defense this year, but that was.
- 26:47Speaker 4: What they and I would say, like that's the reason
- 26:49Speaker 4: why they win. I gonna Paul is going to just
- 26:51Speaker 4: be I would love that show to watch tomorrow.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Do we now see a return of the blueberry uniforms
- 26:59Speaker 2: because of the success last week?
- 27:01Speaker 4: Well, the Bills are wearing their ice whites, right, so
- 27:04Speaker 4: what they go good?
- 27:05Speaker 1: I mean I like the contrast between all blue and
- 27:07Speaker 1: all bloy, so.
- 27:08Speaker 3: All blue and right for it?
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yeah? Sure?
- 27:11Speaker 3: Yeah? And but you know that that that a whole
- 27:13Speaker 3: defensive thing that the Lions had, and they did they
- 27:15Speaker 3: because I watched a good chunk of that game, and
- 27:17Speaker 3: they did a good job of sort of making life
- 27:21Speaker 3: tough on Lamar Jackson. They still give up thirty, right, like,
- 27:24Speaker 3: it's just hard to take these offenses, and even when
- 27:29Speaker 3: you make them play left handed, they still find a
- 27:31Speaker 3: way because they're just so talented.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Yeah they are.
- 27:33Speaker 4: I think they're different animals.
- 27:34Speaker 2: What's fun.
- 27:35Speaker 3: They had a very different offense, yes, very quarterback, but
- 27:38Speaker 3: really the Ravens lost that game because of another fumble. Yeah,
- 27:42Speaker 3: I mean Derrick Henry. That was his third fumble in
- 27:44Speaker 3: three games.
- 27:44Speaker 5: I've just been kind of savoring this game because there's
- 27:46Speaker 5: not a lot of like elite opponents this year on
- 27:49Speaker 5: the schedule, and to have an opponent like this where
- 27:51Speaker 5: it's just every stat you look through or everything, it's
- 27:54Speaker 5: just like, oh boy, oh boy, you know everything they
- 27:56Speaker 5: do well right now, and the Patriots got to figure
- 27:59Speaker 5: out a way to you know, just I think it's
- 28:00Speaker 5: about how the game unfolds.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Even watching that game last year, you know, Drake HiT's
- 28:04Speaker 1: a big play.
- 28:04Speaker 5: They you know, they make a couple of plays early
- 28:06Speaker 5: and suddenly it's kind of a close game. Now, Buffalo
- 28:09Speaker 5: pulled away at the end, but look those Patriots last
- 28:12Speaker 5: year and again they were three wins, so Buffalo might
- 28:14Speaker 5: not have been an amp for the game as they
- 28:16Speaker 5: will be this week. But you know, you just you
- 28:18Speaker 5: never know you're going with these game plans, like you're
- 28:19Speaker 5: playing in a bubble, and at the end of the day,
- 28:21Speaker 5: a couple of big plays early on changes the complexion
- 28:24Speaker 5: of the game. You're ready to go out of the
- 28:25Speaker 5: gate for the first time kind of the season.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I think it'd be a really possible from a betting
- 28:29Speaker 2: spot standpoint, is it better? Is it a better spot
- 28:33Speaker 2: for the Patriots to be going up against a four
- 28:35Speaker 2: and zero team that's kind of cruising or a team
- 28:37Speaker 2: that's two and two and feels that they're underachieving and
- 28:40Speaker 2: they're hungry.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean there's always an appeal to me, to
- 28:43Speaker 1: the to the young, hungry team that has something to prove.
- 28:45Speaker 2: But I'm talking about like if the Bills came into
- 28:47Speaker 2: this game.
- 28:48Speaker 3: At feel much better, if they were two and two, Yeah,
- 28:50Speaker 3: then they probably had some weaknesses that you can actually
- 28:52Speaker 3: talk about it.
- 28:54Speaker 4: They also like last week was a very when I
- 28:56Speaker 4: was talking to the Bills guys last night, like it's
- 28:59Speaker 4: a very Dynasty Patriot thing. They won thirty one to nineteen,
- 29:03Speaker 4: but nobody thought they played well in the game, right,
- 29:06Speaker 4: So I don't think that the Bills are coming into
- 29:08Speaker 4: this game like they just won fifty to eleven Miami. Yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 4: so they they're they're the things that they were, you know,
- 29:15Speaker 4: a little bit worried about first of all, which I
- 29:17Speaker 4: was deuced was saying earlier. They will not say Drake
- 29:20Speaker 4: May's name. They are so afraid that the Patriots have
- 29:24Speaker 4: a quarterback again that they were like, let's talk about him.
- 29:27Speaker 4: And I was like, we talk, who are we talking about?
- 29:29Speaker 4: And they were talking about Drake. So they're terrified that
- 29:32Speaker 4: Drake May is good?
- 29:34Speaker 2: Are these people you're talking?
- 29:35Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, they like literally just like people that
- 29:36Speaker 3: work for the Bills.
- 29:37Speaker 4: No, no, oh no, but literally like he was volved
- 29:40Speaker 4: by that, Like they literally did not want to say
- 29:42Speaker 4: his name.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Uh.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Then their run defense, the Bills run defense has been
- 29:47Speaker 4: leaky to start the season.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Like six yards of coach.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's yeah, so you so like to you know,
- 29:53Speaker 4: if you were looking for a weakness on the team,
- 29:56Speaker 4: it's their run defense. And they've been down a couple
- 29:59Speaker 4: guys on defense all over Matt Milano. We'll see if
- 30:01Speaker 4: those guys practice this week. But if the Patriots you know,
- 30:05Speaker 4: can attack that, we you know, if there is a
- 30:07Speaker 4: weakness to attack, it's that they don't stop.
- 30:09Speaker 2: They're like every time we play the Bills, Matt Milano has.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Something always heard.
- 30:13Speaker 5: Yeah, it is period, you know, one one little interesting nugget.
- 30:16Speaker 5: I thought maybe only haven't I'll find this interesting. But
- 30:18Speaker 5: you know, last year, I remember them playing like they're
- 30:20Speaker 5: just all Nickel team all the time, and now they're
- 30:22Speaker 5: they've really jumped in base like they're playing a lot
- 30:24Speaker 5: more base now, from four percent to twenty.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I don't know why that is.
- 30:27Speaker 4: It's the most since like early on in mcdermot's coaching
- 30:31Speaker 4: tenure with the Bills. I think it was like eighteen
- 30:33Speaker 4: or nineteen was the last time they played this much
- 30:35Speaker 4: base defense. And they're doing that without Milana, who was
- 30:38Speaker 4: like their best linebacker.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Well, you think they'd be better at run defense if
- 30:41Speaker 1: they're playing that, you know, instead of the Nickels.
- 30:43Speaker 4: So I'd assume that's why they're playing so much bass,
- 30:46Speaker 4: because they can't stop the run.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, makes sense.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Okay, Well I'm I mean Sunday, and I can't get
- 30:53Speaker 2: here fast enough, right.
- 30:55Speaker 5: No, I that's there's only you know, Look, I always
- 30:58Speaker 5: would get up for Patriots games, but you know, when
- 31:00Speaker 5: you're going on the road against the Big Boss, of
- 31:02Speaker 5: the AFC East.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Call it what it is.
- 31:04Speaker 5: It's, you know, a young team trying to prove themselves.
- 31:06Speaker 5: We've kind of been in the spot before. I mean
- 31:08Speaker 5: Paul talked about the last big game. I mean I
- 31:09Speaker 5: remember twenty twenty one being a big game before it
- 31:11Speaker 5: turned into you know, win nonsense, like then it was,
- 31:14Speaker 5: but the Patriots were streaking at that point. I mean
- 31:16Speaker 5: that was the height of the Mac Jones, Bill Belichick.
- 31:19Speaker 5: I mean really that was that was kind of the
- 31:21Speaker 5: last week of the bill bis season. Yeah, that those
- 31:23Speaker 5: games down the stretch were all big games. But it's
- 31:27Speaker 5: been a while.
- 31:28Speaker 2: You know, if the Bills come up short again this year,
- 31:31Speaker 2: is Ara McDermott in trouble?
- 31:33Speaker 3: So when when when? Uh, when Evan was talking about
- 31:36Speaker 3: they won't say May's name, I was immediately thinking Ara McDermott,
- 31:40Speaker 3: Like this was like an edict, we don't like. That's
- 31:43Speaker 3: why I was like radio talking to like the Yeah,
- 31:48Speaker 3: I lost interest.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I really I really enjoy them. They're they're a great time.
- 31:53Speaker 4: We do it every year and they're they're they're great
- 31:57Speaker 4: cover one if you want, like the Bill's perspective.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I haven't never met a phone interview. We didn't like.
- 32:02Speaker 4: I just I love those I've been doing it every
- 32:05Speaker 4: year with them since eighteen nineteen.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I thought this was teed up for Freddy, like Hiray
- 32:09Speaker 3: mcdermot's not allowing anyone to say, right, this is.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Great, But listen, you are a Bill if you are
- 32:17Speaker 2: the Bills fans, you know you've finally now taken over
- 32:21Speaker 2: the AFC East. But could there be this emerging quarterback
- 32:26Speaker 2: on the Patriots where the pressure is even greater to
- 32:30Speaker 2: win now because pretty soon it's going to get competitive again.
- 32:34Speaker 2: That's right there.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Patriots they hear the footsteps honestly, like they legitimately.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Do, like who's hearing Bill's boys, Hill's mafia?
- 32:44Speaker 3: They hear the propaganda?
- 32:46Speaker 2: Are they just being nice to you?
- 32:49Speaker 4: Fred I'm telling you we started the conversation, I know,
- 32:51Speaker 4: but he wouldn't say his name, and I was like, who,
- 32:54Speaker 4: I don't even know you're asking me a question. I
- 32:55Speaker 4: don't even know who you're talking about. And they were
- 32:57Speaker 4: talking about Drake. They they're genuinely work.
- 33:00Speaker 8: Did you guys ever feel embarrassing if you ask you
- 33:02Speaker 8: guys ever feel like that with the Patriots with like
- 33:04Speaker 8: a Mark Sanchez or Ryan Tannehill or when you know,
- 33:08Speaker 8: we're saying like, oh, that looks like the Jets or
- 33:10Speaker 8: the back when the Patriots had Tom Brady, did you
- 33:12Speaker 8: ever feel like, say, I'm not going to say the.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Name Josh, I would get annoyed to Patrick Mahone.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Eventually said his name.
- 33:21Speaker 3: All right, It's just embarrassing that that would ever come up.
- 33:26Speaker 3: I'm saying, unless it was like a Freddy thing with
- 33:29Speaker 3: Aray McDermott, I was.
- 33:30Speaker 2: I was all in for that.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I thought this was a real thing.
- 33:33Speaker 4: But you thought that the head coach of the Buffalo
- 33:34Speaker 4: Bills wouldn't say Drake May's name.
- 33:36Speaker 3: The head coach of the New England Patriots wouldn't say
- 33:38Speaker 3: his own quarterbacks for like a year and a That's
- 33:40Speaker 3: a very different person.
- 33:42Speaker 2: But to your point, like when Pennington was schedule, it
- 33:46Speaker 2: wasn't that he was going to be like this great,
- 33:48Speaker 2: but he would annoy me. We should be beating this guy,
- 33:51Speaker 2: you know.
- 33:52Speaker 5: Yeah, noodlelarm Sanchez a little bit. I mean, I mean,
- 33:54Speaker 5: Sanchez played the game of his life in that twenty
- 33:56Speaker 5: ten playoffs.
- 33:57Speaker 3: But really did play. I never have to give him.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 33:59Speaker 5: I never felt like they got a franchise quarter They
- 34:03Speaker 5: were good team, they were all coach, had a great defense,
- 34:05Speaker 5: they had some weapons around him l T at the end.
- 34:07Speaker 1: But I never felt Mark Sanchez was like, oh, let's
- 34:09Speaker 1: face it, since.
- 34:10Speaker 2: One what quarterback in the AFC East have you said,
- 34:13Speaker 2: oh my god, this guy's great, Josh, Josh Allen besides Josh.
- 34:19Speaker 4: Against the Patriots too up until you.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Know you're like, we should be we should be that bad.
- 34:26Speaker 3: You know, Pennington was probably the best in the Brady era.
- 34:30Speaker 3: You know, you could make an argument for my guy.
- 34:33Speaker 3: But so that's how bad the quarterbacks were, right, try
- 34:37Speaker 3: Jay Fiedler maybe, yeah, I mean right, they just there
- 34:41Speaker 3: wasn't a lot of I means, yeah, Pennington is probably
- 34:44Speaker 3: the answer to that question.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Tua is literally in the conversation, and I don't think
- 34:49Speaker 4: anybody thinks much of Tua.
- 34:50Speaker 5: Yeah, but even Pennington, Like you just look at it
- 34:53Speaker 5: the way he threw the ball, and you're like, this guy,
- 34:55Speaker 5: yeah he might beat you once.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Or twice, especially after that surgery. Yeah, like he could
- 34:59Speaker 3: throw it all.
- 35:00Speaker 4: How great is it though, that you know deduce his point?
- 35:02Speaker 4: Like we're talking about this game and like really analyzing
- 35:06Speaker 4: the game of like like the matchups and the strengths
- 35:09Speaker 4: and weaknesses and like it's fun. Just like we haven't
- 35:12Speaker 4: been able to do this in probably two years.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Like I said to Freddy, you just now it's like
- 35:17Speaker 3: I watched a baseball game last night. I was all
- 35:19Speaker 3: jacked up. It looks like it was an actual baseball
- 35:22Speaker 3: game for the first time in like three years.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I've enjoyed games, but you know, playoffs.
- 35:28Speaker 3: He took that as to me being like kind of
- 35:31Speaker 3: like you with the base which is totally not true.
- 35:34Speaker 3: I just really enjoyed the game.
- 35:36Speaker 2: You haven't enjoyed games this year.
- 35:38Speaker 3: I don't really watch a lot of regular season because
- 35:41Speaker 3: this is playoff games and.
- 35:44Speaker 2: It's difference between but every pitch I watched a lot of.
- 35:49Speaker 1: I watched more Red Sox this year than a lot.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Not a lot, but I've caught a couple of games.
- 35:53Speaker 1: That was a cool game.
- 35:54Speaker 5: Last night I was watching, I was stressed out, and
- 35:57Speaker 5: I was like, I was and it's so cool how
- 36:00Speaker 5: it comes. Like I just I love playoff baseball and
- 36:03Speaker 5: how tense every single pitches. It's just the tension and
- 36:07Speaker 5: now that the game moves faster, it's I mean, I
- 36:09Speaker 5: kind of appreciate it because it's not as much of
- 36:11Speaker 5: a slow burn. But I I'm like, why does this happen?
- 36:14Speaker 5: Like I never felt like even when I was watching
- 36:16Speaker 5: Red Sox during the season, I'd.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Be like, oh, that's a great win.
- 36:18Speaker 1: That oh thats tough loss. You know, never felt it.
- 36:20Speaker 3: But last night, I'm like, I think there's a handful
- 36:22Speaker 3: of games during the season that you know, you get
- 36:24Speaker 3: like a Raphael to walk off like it was.
- 36:26Speaker 1: I actually texted Click.
- 36:28Speaker 3: I actually texted Freddy one night, the one against Tampa
- 36:32Speaker 3: Bay at Fenway, like, yeah, that was a little bit
- 36:34Speaker 3: different than the one sixty two. It was a handful
- 36:37Speaker 3: of those games. But this is when it matters.
- 36:40Speaker 2: This is when it mappens.
- 36:41Speaker 1: But I just think you just see Red Sox y's
- 36:43Speaker 1: actually jerseys, and I'm.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Like, live, oh yeah we do.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 4: We probably watch forty to fifty Red Sox games a year.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, no, I mean I mean we we are
- 36:53Speaker 3: not lying. Freddy probably watched like one hundred and fifty.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean if.
- 36:57Speaker 4: It if it's Monday through Friday and they're on, that's
- 37:00Speaker 4: my summer friend.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Yeah, see that's what I do. It's just kind of on.
- 37:03Speaker 3: But I'm not I'm not glue. Last night I watched
- 37:05Speaker 3: pretty much every pitch.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, but no, we we watch pretty religiously.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Last night, Yeah.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Good, watched the game and we eat jelly.
- 37:14Speaker 1: But it's kind of it's kind of feeling like a
- 37:16Speaker 1: little throwback. We're watching some Yankees playoff baseball.
- 37:19Speaker 4: The Patriots got a big game against the Bills.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Like, you know, it's almost it's a little revival here.
- 37:24Speaker 3: We're actually talking about matchups and as if they matter,
- 37:30Speaker 3: you know, whereas like, jeez, I don't know how they're
- 37:32Speaker 3: going to do this. I don't think they have a
- 37:34Speaker 3: shot to do that. No, I think that everybody looks
- 37:36Speaker 3: at Drake May right now and the offense and the
- 37:38Speaker 3: way the offense has played the last three weeks. You know,
- 37:41Speaker 3: say for the turnover fest in Pittsburgh in the middle,
- 37:44Speaker 3: can they get in a shootout and win it? Yeah,
- 37:47Speaker 3: and you go, Mano Amano with one of the best,
- 37:50Speaker 3: if not the best.
- 37:51Speaker 4: We're talking about that raft.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Dave wants to know, would you rather win Sunday against
- 37:55Speaker 2: Buffalo or beat Buffalo at home? Later?
- 37:59Speaker 6: Oh?
- 38:00Speaker 2: Here, give me the game this week.
- 38:04Speaker 3: If I had to choose one or the other, Like
- 38:07Speaker 3: you could make an argument that one at the end
- 38:09Speaker 3: of the year would be more important. But I don't
- 38:12Speaker 3: know what Buffalo will be playing. When how late do
- 38:14Speaker 3: they play Buffalo.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I think it's the third to last week or.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Second to last and Dolphins Jets, So I know, I don't.
- 38:20Speaker 3: I think I would rather win this one.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Yeah, we too, just went on the road under Drake.
- 38:25Speaker 1: I would love to.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Watch Bill's Mafia walking out of that stadium. Oh yeah,
- 38:29Speaker 4: when we're going down to the to the you'll have
- 38:33Speaker 4: to do that too, So that sneaky. That is fantastic
- 38:37Speaker 4: because that press box and that whole setup. They have
- 38:40Speaker 4: to go inside and back outside and then down and
- 38:43Speaker 4: then it's it's terrible.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Fourth to last.
- 38:48Speaker 5: So they play the Giants on Monday Night football and
- 38:50Speaker 5: then a little short week here.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a chance that it won't matter that
- 38:53Speaker 3: much for Buffalo. I mean it will matter. I mean,
- 38:56Speaker 3: I can't imagine they have like the number one seed
- 38:58Speaker 3: if they're in play for that blocked up four weeks.
- 39:01Speaker 3: But I'll take this one. I would to the significance
- 39:04Speaker 3: of beating them on the road. I mean, I guess
- 39:07Speaker 3: you can wait and see how they play, but I
- 39:09Speaker 3: gotta think they're going to happen after two kind of
- 39:12Speaker 3: lackluster performances, Buffalo has got to have the attention, you know,
- 39:16Speaker 3: where it should be. It's not like you're sneaking up
- 39:19Speaker 3: on them.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Not a mouse track game.
- 39:20Speaker 5: I shouldn't I shouldn't be Generally, I feel like the
- 39:23Speaker 5: offense will will do some good things. I just I
- 39:25Speaker 5: feel I'm feeling good about the offense right now.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I just I to me, the Patriots defense is just
- 39:29Speaker 1: a huge wild card in this game.
- 39:31Speaker 5: And there's really no result against them with Josh Allen
- 39:34Speaker 5: that that would surprise me. Maybe just that they completely
- 39:36Speaker 5: shut Josh Allen down. But you know, there's a chance
- 39:39Speaker 5: that it's you know, Swiss cheese for for quite a
- 39:41Speaker 5: few drives, that they're going up and downfield.
- 39:44Speaker 4: That's why I wonder if you just play the turnover game. Yeah,
- 39:47Speaker 4: but I don't think you're going to stop them in
- 39:49Speaker 4: conventional offense, like we'll get them, yeah, and so like
- 39:52Speaker 4: it just I just wonder if you try to steal
- 39:54Speaker 4: some possessions in this game with pressure.
- 39:56Speaker 3: I'm gonna, you know, obviously take a win however it
- 40:00Speaker 3: can come. But I can I hope that if they win,
- 40:04Speaker 3: so the hypothetical here is a win no matter what. Okay,
- 40:07Speaker 3: if they win, I hope it's not turnover related. Yeah,
- 40:11Speaker 3: I don't want any yah butts.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know how else they're gonna win, to
- 40:15Speaker 4: be honest with you, I mean.
- 40:18Speaker 3: So you know, right, so that's what. That's what. Well,
- 40:22Speaker 3: you know, they turned it over three times, and it's
- 40:24Speaker 3: very very character for the Bills. They haven't turned it over,
- 40:28Speaker 3: you know, all year. They haven't. They didn't really turn
- 40:30Speaker 3: it over last year either.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Yea.
- 40:32Speaker 3: They had a long stretch without a turnover, right, they
- 40:35Speaker 3: rival Kansas City's record.
- 40:38Speaker 4: I just wonder it's not even so much about turnovers,
- 40:40Speaker 4: but like negative plays like can you get a sack
- 40:43Speaker 4: on first down?
- 40:44Speaker 3: No, that's different.
- 40:45Speaker 4: That puts them off schedule.
- 40:46Speaker 3: That's not a yeah, but right, but they got sacked.
- 40:48Speaker 3: You have they sacked them. That's that's because if you
- 40:50Speaker 3: just like.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Again, like if you let them stay on scheduled, then
- 40:53Speaker 4: you're not they're going to If the turnovers.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Are two picks by Gonzo, that's why you got them.
- 40:59Speaker 3: I would rather I mean, my hypothetical is a win.
- 41:02Speaker 3: The meta what Okay, Okay, I would rather have it
- 41:05Speaker 3: be no no picks by anybody and just you you
- 41:09Speaker 3: lined up and beat them.
- 41:10Speaker 2: But that's a play that you made. Maybe maybe it's
- 41:14Speaker 2: not like just reaching out and dropping the ball on
- 41:16Speaker 2: a run. It's like your best quarterback did what he's
- 41:20Speaker 2: supposed to do.
- 41:21Speaker 4: What if you like zero blitz him and he ends
- 41:23Speaker 4: up chucking one up and then Gonzo just picks it off.
- 41:26Speaker 4: That's what I like it happen.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I just feel like that's a force turnover.
- 41:29Speaker 4: You kind of have to.
- 41:31Speaker 3: I'm not talking. I'm not going to be happy if
- 41:33Speaker 3: they win.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Because they're coming up with the reasons now where you're
- 41:36Speaker 2: gonna have the yeah butt.
- 41:38Speaker 1: No, no, but that's always a yeah. But I mean
- 41:40Speaker 1: totally right.
- 41:41Speaker 3: If they go to Buffalo and win, that's they went
- 41:44Speaker 3: to Buffalo and well no, yeah, but okay, I'm saying, Okay,
- 41:47Speaker 3: if I had my choice, I would rather have it
- 41:49Speaker 3: be they just lined up and they were better, Yeah,
- 41:51Speaker 3: as opposed to the other team didn't play.
- 41:53Speaker 2: As I have my choice, Buffalo turns it over ten
- 41:55Speaker 2: times and we score fifty points? Do you think my choice?
- 41:58Speaker 2: You think?
- 41:59Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 41:59Speaker 3: But after I think Pittsburgh would have rather have won
- 42:01Speaker 3: the game. Without reminder, receiveing some fumbling twice.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I don't think they give it.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Damn, I understand that. I said, what do you think
- 42:07Speaker 3: they would rather have won it? Because they were better?
- 42:11Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. I think they're better, but they're not.
- 42:14Speaker 2: I think I think Pepper's thinks I put my helmet
- 42:16Speaker 2: on the ball and I made them fumble.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I just I sorry to derail this. No, I was
- 42:23Speaker 1: just something haven't said.
- 42:24Speaker 3: I actually no, I'd be honest.
- 42:27Speaker 1: And this might be a little circumstantial too.
- 42:29Speaker 5: But like watching the Patriots game last week, I felt
- 42:31Speaker 5: like so much of their success depend on early down
- 42:34Speaker 5: success on defense, So like negative plays on first and
- 42:37Speaker 5: second down, like when they weren't getting that use the
- 42:39Speaker 5: example that first drive where they had two second downs
- 42:42Speaker 5: and they were second and ones. Otherwise it was just
- 42:43Speaker 5: first down, first down, first down, first out score. You know,
- 42:46Speaker 5: getting that success on those early downs, and to Evi's point,
- 42:49Speaker 5: being aggressive on early downs and trying to force the
- 42:51Speaker 5: issue with negative plays. I think that's something the Patriots
- 42:55Speaker 5: defense might really need to rely on, getting those success
- 42:57Speaker 5: on early downs. I like them on third down, but
- 43:00Speaker 5: you can see when they when teams get going on
- 43:01Speaker 5: first and second down and you.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Get them into third and long, Like, how many third
- 43:04Speaker 4: and longs can you get them into in this game?
- 43:07Speaker 4: I think is gonna defensively that's going to ultimately decide
- 43:09Speaker 4: the game.
- 43:10Speaker 2: All right, A five to five Pats five hundred is
- 43:12Speaker 2: the hotline. We'll see what you have to say. But first,
- 43:15Speaker 2: football fans know that traditions matter, turning moments together into
- 43:18Speaker 2: truly something epic. There what inspire us to make our
- 43:21Speaker 2: masa in tostitos the traditional way, starting with whole corn kernels,
- 43:25Speaker 2: no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, all to give you
- 43:28Speaker 2: that perfect crunch. Discover your next tradition this football season.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Head to the store, grab you tostito's team bag, and
- 43:35Speaker 2: scan the code for a chance to score an epic
- 43:37Speaker 2: experience with the Patriots. Tostitos tradition matters. All right, let's
- 43:42Speaker 2: get to the phones. See what you have to say.
- 43:44Speaker 2: We'll go to Anthony and Seattle first. What's up, Anthony?
- 43:48Speaker 6: Hey, what's up? People?
- 43:49Speaker 2: Hey?
- 43:49Speaker 6: Hey?
- 43:51Speaker 9: Hi?
- 43:51Speaker 7: So I agree with with you guys. I'd rather have
- 43:54Speaker 7: this game than the later game for something about eating
- 43:57Speaker 7: them on Sunday night. Football in front of America Another
- 44:00Speaker 7: good game. Hey, uh, this game definitely feels more a
- 44:05Speaker 7: little butther bit butther but and less David versus Goliath.
- 44:08Speaker 7: I think this is the lost we had coming in
- 44:11Speaker 7: in a long time, so I'm excited for it. I'm
- 44:15Speaker 7: definitely you know, Monday, I was really like miling here
- 44:19Speaker 7: to hear, like, oh man, it feels really nice to
- 44:21Speaker 7: have the player of the week quarterback that everybody's talking about.
- 44:24Speaker 7: When I showed the graphic and the Sunday night game,
- 44:26Speaker 7: They're showing Drake May and Top Allen, and I'm like,
- 44:29Speaker 7: oh man, it's so nice to have our quarterbacks to
- 44:32Speaker 7: put that graphic as your market player, not for man
- 44:34Speaker 7: Great Stevenson or Bill.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Belichick, not for me, Bill Belichick against t J.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Watt, right exactly, remember I remember, yeah, yeah.
- 44:45Speaker 7: But hey, listen to the media is starting to worry
- 44:48Speaker 7: me a little bit to there. As the week goes on,
- 44:50Speaker 7: they can sinue to talk about Man. I'm like, all right,
- 44:52Speaker 7: let let it breath a little bit. But I got
- 44:54Speaker 7: just two quick people, I'll hang out one hit U
- 44:56Speaker 7: my one. My one pushback on the moral victory is, uh,
- 45:02Speaker 7: there's definitely a moral victory qualifier game, except for if
- 45:05Speaker 7: we like if we freaking had them and it was
- 45:08Speaker 7: like and we just like the fall like fourth and
- 45:10Speaker 7: one and we fall start, or we run the play
- 45:13Speaker 7: and there was a legal man and eligible man like
- 45:16Speaker 7: something like that, and I'm gonna be like, oh that,
- 45:18Speaker 7: you know what I mean. But other than that, if
- 45:20Speaker 7: we just go to toe loose close, uh, you know,
- 45:22Speaker 7: absolutely moral victory. And lastly, if we go down there
- 45:25Speaker 7: and win and Drake May plays good, Here's what I'm
- 45:28Speaker 7: gonna do. I'mnall in Tuesday. We'll wait on hold. You
- 45:31Speaker 7: gotta answer my call. I'm just gonna say we are
- 45:34Speaker 7: all right.
- 45:35Speaker 2: There you go. Thanks Anthony, We got our guy. Where
- 45:40Speaker 2: you hear from Williams in Montreal? Hello William? Well sure,
- 45:45Speaker 2: William bye.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Uh.
- 45:47Speaker 9: Yes, if Drake May goes down in Buffalo and out plays,
- 45:54Speaker 9: Josh Allen would every time to put Drake May and
- 45:58Speaker 9: the and the conversation.
- 46:01Speaker 2: I still think it's a little too early. We had
- 46:03Speaker 2: that question last week as well. I think yesterday or
- 46:06Speaker 2: yesterday we had it. Yeah, I still think it's a
- 46:08Speaker 2: little early for MVP talk for Drake May. But let's
- 46:12Speaker 2: if the if the Patriots start peeling off wins after this. Yeah,
- 46:17Speaker 2: it's going to be because Drake May is playing.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Well why on this topic.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Yeah, if they win the game and he outduels Josh
- 46:23Speaker 3: Allen and then that leads to a battle for the
- 46:26Speaker 3: AFC East title, then absolutely.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:28Speaker 3: But right now the Patriots are two and two. Yeah,
- 46:31Speaker 3: the quarterback of a two and two team is probably
- 46:33Speaker 3: not in the m v.
- 46:34Speaker 5: P race, right And I'd say you need to see
- 46:36Speaker 5: a game where the quarterback will the team to victory
- 46:39Speaker 5: on his back to be an m v P.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I just I can't believe we're talking like it's
- 46:43Speaker 4: week four.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Well, I'll tell you why.
- 46:44Speaker 5: And it's kind of funny, you know, it's not the callers.
- 46:48Speaker 2: We're so anti fun everybody's say we're thirsty.
- 46:52Speaker 4: For it is and that's why it's not just the caller.
- 46:55Speaker 1: No, no, it's not six seven.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Uh what that means.
- 46:59Speaker 5: The funny thing is is that like every time you
- 47:01Speaker 5: go on Twitter, someone's found a new stat to tell
- 47:03Speaker 5: you how good Drake's been, you know, like that's like
- 47:05Speaker 5: they get more and more minute and.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Like someone tweeted us a stat that was absolute fabrication. Really,
- 47:10Speaker 3: someone tweeted us something that said that that he was
- 47:13Speaker 3: leading the league in yards and I was like, I
- 47:15Speaker 3: had no idea and I will looked he's like sixth.
- 47:18Speaker 5: Yeah, but it's not the fact that he's six I mean,
- 47:22Speaker 5: I love I love me some good Drake stats.
- 47:25Speaker 1: I love, you know, but like it's four games. Let's
- 47:27Speaker 1: not get too ahead of ourselves.
- 47:29Speaker 4: We're all very excited ahead of you, you know.
- 47:31Speaker 5: I mean, look and I am a little bit ahead
- 47:33Speaker 5: of myself just with how comfortable he looks. I mean,
- 47:35Speaker 5: that's just to me, has been promising from maybe the
- 47:37Speaker 5: first OTA practice we watched him, where it was like, wow,
- 47:40Speaker 5: he looks like he's pretty comfortable right now, and that's continued.
- 47:42Speaker 4: And that's positive, but that's watch season stats are crazy though,
- 47:46Speaker 4: Like the fact that they're the third best team in
- 47:48Speaker 4: the league in past EPA right now is insane. Like
- 47:51Speaker 4: they were worlds away from that last year. And I
- 47:55Speaker 4: get it. It's four games. It's a small sample size,
- 47:57Speaker 4: but it's also not like one game anymore.
- 48:00Speaker 1: That's a quarter of the season, right you started talking.
- 48:03Speaker 3: I'm more with you though, Like I just look at
- 48:06Speaker 3: him and I see how much different he looks to me,
- 48:08Speaker 3: And again I don't have anything to back up. I
- 48:10Speaker 3: don't have. It's just anecdotal. I think he looks more
- 48:14Speaker 3: confident and comfortable. I don't see him running around, you know,
- 48:17Speaker 3: sort of haphazardly like I did a line like I
- 48:21Speaker 3: did at times in the summer. No, it's you're throwing
- 48:23Speaker 3: the ball twenty times instead of forty five. I saw
- 48:26Speaker 3: him in week one. I saw him running around halp
- 48:28Speaker 3: hazardly in week one. I haven't seen it the last
- 48:31Speaker 3: three weeks. I think that they've sort of figured out,
- 48:33Speaker 3: and I'm going to give Evans boy Josh a lot
- 48:36Speaker 3: of credit. So I just feel like I look.
- 48:41Speaker 6: At the guy.
- 48:42Speaker 3: I've always been a believer in Drake May. That's why
- 48:45Speaker 3: I wanted him over The only one I said at
- 48:47Speaker 3: the beginning of all of this that I would have
- 48:49Speaker 3: taken was Caleb Waits because I think he's more talented.
- 48:54Speaker 3: I stuck by that even after Daydon Daniels was an
- 48:57Speaker 3: MVP candidate and winning twelve games last year and going
- 48:59Speaker 3: to championship. I still would take Drake May over him.
- 49:03Speaker 2: There is all right, one more call then. I think
- 49:06Speaker 2: Vrabel's going to be coming up soon, so we might
- 49:08Speaker 2: have to cut in for that. Mike's in Puerto Rico
- 49:12Speaker 2: what's up, Mike, Mike.
- 49:13Speaker 10: Mike's everybody doing today?
- 49:15Speaker 2: Good?
- 49:16Speaker 1: Good Show's fine, but I'm I'm super excited.
- 49:20Speaker 10: I didn't get to listen yesterday, so I don't know
- 49:23Speaker 10: if Evan had a particular take on bad Bunny being
- 49:27Speaker 10: at the Super Bowl. But I'm gonna tell you right now,
- 49:29Speaker 10: if the Pagots make it with that Bunny at the
- 49:32Speaker 10: halftime show, I am definitely gonna make it over there.
- 49:34Speaker 10: It's fifty minutes from my house. I even placed the
- 49:37Speaker 10: bed to cover the cost, so I'm going to make
- 49:39Speaker 10: it happen one way or another.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Sorry, there you go.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Smart. That is smart, Mike. I like it, good stuff.
- 49:44Speaker 2: What odds did you get?
- 49:47Speaker 7: Actually?
- 49:48Speaker 10: I thought it fifty to one.
- 49:50Speaker 11: Fifty to one, yeah, okay, and to make the Super one,
- 49:56Speaker 11: so I put to get to the Super Bowl correct
- 49:58Speaker 11: the conference, So I put you on dollars soulfully.
- 50:01Speaker 10: That will turn out to be like ten thousand, and
- 50:03Speaker 10: that should be more than enough to get the season ticket.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Absolutely. Yeah, I love it, Mike. I love that. That's
- 50:09Speaker 2: smart strategy, you know, because in other words, if they win,
- 50:14Speaker 2: I win, right, Well, that's how that's worked.
- 50:16Speaker 3: But you know, you know what I mean, I actually
- 50:19Speaker 3: didn't know what you meant.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, well thanks Mike thinks okay, okay, thanks
- 50:26Speaker 2: for calling it.
- 50:28Speaker 1: So he's from Puerto Rico, but he's not living improved
- 50:31Speaker 1: in Puerto Rico.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Correct, So I guess the rabel's running a little late,
- 50:35Speaker 2: a little late, that's okay. I know this is one
- 50:40Speaker 2: of Paul's favorite subjects email and says, MVP talk is
- 50:45Speaker 2: pretty crazy at this point. However, what's more likely is
- 50:48Speaker 2: Steph Diggs getting Comeback Player of the Year. I mean,
- 50:53Speaker 2: what do you think of that? That Paul coming back
- 50:56Speaker 2: from an injury.
- 50:56Speaker 3: I honestly do not put Comeback Player of the Year
- 50:59Speaker 3: on my radar at all. I have no idea what
- 51:01Speaker 3: it is why they have.
- 51:02Speaker 2: It, Okay, but you know people have won it before
- 51:06Speaker 2: and it's usually guys that had injuries.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Right, So sometimes it's guys that just sucks the year
- 51:10Speaker 3: before and they come back. So that's why.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Dak, I don't know, just trying to think of players
- 51:16Speaker 1: that I heard last year that I don't know.
- 51:18Speaker 5: Maybe if I mean, Dick's got to keep keep building,
- 51:21Speaker 5: get a thousand hour season, and you know it's all connected.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Anything we'd have to do more than that, but I
- 51:27Speaker 3: got to see, like what he did this week the
- 51:30Speaker 3: rest of the way. Yeah, you know what I mean,
- 51:32Speaker 3: that's a big difference.
- 51:33Speaker 5: That I forget what the down was, but that passed
- 51:36Speaker 5: Drake through to him last week kind of an over route,
- 51:39Speaker 5: big play.
- 51:39Speaker 3: Remember, you know what I think I was the one third.
- 51:43Speaker 3: I was like third and sixteen.
- 51:44Speaker 5: That was the moment that Deuce was like whoa boy
- 51:48Speaker 5: like that? That specific past to me. I remember in
- 51:50Speaker 5: the press box watching him complete that. It's pressure in
- 51:53Speaker 5: his face getting it off, and that to me was
- 51:56Speaker 5: just the moment where I said, I I really think
- 51:59Speaker 5: this kid might be some so got to keep it going.
- 52:02Speaker 1: But I get why everybody's excited about him.
- 52:04Speaker 5: And that's, you know, that's what social media's for to like,
- 52:06Speaker 5: you know, hype your guy, come up with some random
- 52:08Speaker 5: stat that shows how great he is, and hopefully you
- 52:11Speaker 5: can keep it up.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Todd and Gardner writes in so Greg Madard said that
- 52:15Speaker 2: he feels that Drake is quite ahead of schedule with
- 52:17Speaker 2: respect to his progress in the year two. I'm more
- 52:20Speaker 2: interested in where you all feel that the rookies are
- 52:23Speaker 2: with respect to their progress this year and their ability
- 52:25Speaker 2: to contribute over the long term.
- 52:27Speaker 3: I think they all look good. Yeah, except for JJ McCarthy,
- 52:30Speaker 3: who we haven't really seen much of because he got
- 52:34Speaker 3: hurt and we played like two games and got hurt.
- 52:37Speaker 3: But man, I watched bow Nicks the other night. I
- 52:39Speaker 3: thought he looked pretty good. And I don't think that
- 52:41Speaker 3: much about Nicks. I always put that out there. Daniels
- 52:45Speaker 3: has been the best of the group. He's been hurt.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Caleb Williams the last couple of weeks has played. I
- 52:52Speaker 3: think he's actually played pretty well in all of the games, yeah,
- 52:55Speaker 3: just hasn't been able to win them all. Now he's
- 52:57Speaker 3: won a couple. And I think May has been the
- 53:00Speaker 3: best of that group this year, clearly.
- 53:04Speaker 1: But it's a good class.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Penix had a terrible game against Carolina, came back the
- 53:08Speaker 3: next week and ripped it up against.
- 53:10Speaker 5: Washington's essentially a rookie and he played a little last year.
- 53:12Speaker 5: So some of these guys, you know, even Drake to
- 53:14Speaker 5: even Drake still is there's going to be still and
- 53:17Speaker 5: that's I mean, I think that's something to acknowledge that
- 53:20Speaker 5: you know, this doesn't just mean that Drake's trajectory is
- 53:23Speaker 5: a straight line upward like there's going to be some struggles.
- 53:26Speaker 5: I mean, this is the best defense he's faced this
- 53:28Speaker 5: year and it's going to present some new challenges to him.
- 53:30Speaker 1: So he's he's just got to continue to get the reps.
- 53:32Speaker 3: And I think that class, you know, I mean it's
- 53:36Speaker 3: too but I think that class looks good.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Was he talking about our rookies at our rookies?
- 53:40Speaker 3: I thought he was talk about the quarterbacks.
- 53:42Speaker 2: I don't know. I thought he was talking about our rookies,
- 53:44Speaker 2: but maybe he was talking about the quarterbacks, well.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Rookies, so I assumed he was talking about with the quarterbacks, Like,
- 53:50Speaker 3: how does that class look? Well?
- 53:52Speaker 1: We could talk about that too, maybe, But I think,
- 53:55Speaker 1: I mean, Will Campbell's been really solid. But again i'd
- 53:58Speaker 1: put him in. He's a rookie.
- 54:00Speaker 5: He's going to have some different matchups that he faces
- 54:02Speaker 5: every week, and there's going to be tough pass rushers,
- 54:04Speaker 5: you know, no matter how bad the teams they play, uh,
- 54:06Speaker 5: you know, their strength to schedule.
- 54:07Speaker 1: But I think every all the rookies have been pretty AMoD.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Mellay Kyle scratching the surface a little bit.
- 54:13Speaker 5: Trevion we were more excited about him before the game's
- 54:17Speaker 5: got real and but I still have a lot of
- 54:18Speaker 5: confidence in him that he can be a playmaker and
- 54:21Speaker 5: you know in space and uh, you know Woodson, I
- 54:23Speaker 5: feel the same.
- 54:24Speaker 1: It's like, you know, a good play and a couple
- 54:26Speaker 1: bad plays and he's he's up and down.
- 54:28Speaker 5: I don't think there's been a lot of discussion of that, really.
- 54:30Speaker 5: I mean, I think Craig Woodson has been one of
- 54:32Speaker 5: the most under the radar players for this Patriots ten
- 54:35Speaker 5: this year. Nobody wants to talk about a rookie what
- 54:37Speaker 5: is her fourthfront pick? Like he's He's every snap safety
- 54:40Speaker 5: for you. Now, He's taken some some lumps, for sure.
- 54:42Speaker 1: He gave up two touchdowns last week.
- 54:44Speaker 5: But you know, I would hope that the coaching staff
- 54:47Speaker 5: is seeing really positive strides from him to be a
- 54:50Speaker 5: permanent safety for this team going forward.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Aiden in California, this will be the first actual big
- 54:57Speaker 2: game where all eyes and hype is on the Patriots.
- 55:00Speaker 2: My question would be, is the moment too big for
- 55:03Speaker 2: them or will they rise to the occasion.
- 55:07Speaker 3: I don't think the moment will be too big. They
- 55:09Speaker 3: might not be good enough that I fully admit that
- 55:12Speaker 3: that's a possibility. The other team is just a step
- 55:14Speaker 3: up and weight class and the other team is just better.
- 55:17Speaker 3: But I don't think it will be because they're you know,
- 55:20Speaker 3: not ready for their moment. I think Vrabel has excelled
- 55:24Speaker 3: in this role. My boy on My Shows, Bred Felger
- 55:32Speaker 3: had some really interesting stats about Rabel in this touchdown
- 55:37Speaker 3: plus underdog with Tennessee. He was four and four outright
- 55:43Speaker 3: as a touchdown or more underdog. The rest of the
- 55:47Speaker 3: league had a winning percentage of one sixty eight or
- 55:51Speaker 3: something like that. So they're five hundred in a role
- 55:55Speaker 3: that everybody else.
- 56:00Speaker 2: These kind of games, and.
- 56:01Speaker 3: I think of games like the twenty nineteen Division round
- 56:06Speaker 3: against Baltimore where he completely shut down Lamar Jackson when
- 56:11Speaker 3: no one came close to doing that. You know that
- 56:15Speaker 3: year he had I think one against Kansas City that
- 56:20Speaker 3: he did it to Mahomes, he beat the Patriots, beat
- 56:23Speaker 3: he beat Brady.
- 56:24Speaker 1: I know not, but I think Lamar is a better example.
- 56:28Speaker 3: Well the player. I don't think they were more than
- 56:29Speaker 3: a top were they more than a touchdowns exactly. I
- 56:31Speaker 3: don't think that that would have been one of the underdogs.
- 56:33Speaker 3: But he gets My point that I'm making is he
- 56:36Speaker 3: gets his team ready for these spots.
- 56:37Speaker 2: YEP.
- 56:38Speaker 3: I think he plays the no one believes that you
- 56:41Speaker 3: can do this card, and I also think he likes
- 56:45Speaker 3: the fact that there's some juice to this game. With
- 56:46Speaker 3: a Sunday night national TV crowd, I think they'll be
- 56:50Speaker 3: ready for it.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Patriots four and a half was the line in twenty
- 56:53Speaker 1: nineteen wildcard rounds.
- 56:54Speaker 3: See what was the I mean, I don't I don't
- 56:57Speaker 3: even know what when it was. But the game that
- 56:59Speaker 3: I I was thinking was the game at Tennessee. Uh
- 57:02Speaker 3: uh oh that day won with Mariota.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Oh that a twenty eighteen twenty seventeen.
- 57:08Speaker 2: While you're looking that up. Curtis and Saint Louis McDaniels
- 57:10Speaker 2: talked on Edelman's podcast about how he coaches quarterbacks in
- 57:13Speaker 2: a nutshell. He's basically said, he has a cup and
- 57:16Speaker 2: he likes to fill it up progressively more and more.
- 57:20Speaker 2: My question is, do you guys think May's cup is
- 57:22Speaker 2: filling faster than you would expect? Is Josh feeding him
- 57:26Speaker 2: more because Drake is digesting it well and showing enough
- 57:28Speaker 2: progress week to week, or do you feel that it's
- 57:31Speaker 2: actually been more simple when it comes to scheme and
- 57:33Speaker 2: what he puts in May's cup thus far? If it's
- 57:36Speaker 2: the latter, would you say Drake is really ready to
- 57:39Speaker 2: take on more? And how good will this look when
- 57:41Speaker 2: the cup is truly full and Josh's bag is wide open?
- 57:46Speaker 3: Just missed. I don't know.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I mean, I just you know, this is so hard
- 57:49Speaker 1: for us to tell, you know what it is.
- 57:52Speaker 5: I just all we can look at is how Drake
- 57:54Speaker 5: may looks on the field and performing into me.
- 57:57Speaker 1: He he looks comfortable.
- 57:58Speaker 3: I couldn't tell you how much that they given or not.
- 58:01Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know, but it seems like it's building.
- 58:04Speaker 5: Feels a little bit like, I mean, week one is
- 58:06Speaker 5: a little bit an outlier, but each week it seems
- 58:08Speaker 5: like a little bit more someone else is getting involved.
- 58:10Speaker 1: And you know that's all you all you can ask for.
- 58:12Speaker 1: But it's it's I mean, we don't we don't see
- 58:14Speaker 1: behind the scenes.
- 58:15Speaker 2: So it's still waiting for Mike Vrabel supposed to be
- 58:18Speaker 2: a twelve to fifty five? What's going on? Could there
- 58:20Speaker 2: be a trade? Big trading? It's always the thing, Brown,
- 58:24Speaker 2: he's on the phone, Yeah, it deals, Cody writes in Brown,
- 58:28Speaker 2: just want to give a shout out to Alex Barth
- 58:31Speaker 2: for being a Bills hater on this network. The glazing
- 58:34Speaker 2: of Josh Allen from Evan in the O. Golly g
- 58:37Speaker 2: wouldn't it be nice for the Bills to win a
- 58:39Speaker 2: Super Bowl? For Mike gets old is.
- 58:42Speaker 3: But Alex Barth makes Fred Kersh look like hate, like
- 58:46Speaker 3: a Bills backer. Someone can't tell you how many times
- 58:49Speaker 3: he's told me that the or said on the air
- 58:51Speaker 3: the Bills won't make the playoffs.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Yeah, someone keep Barth around the studio for the next
- 58:56Speaker 2: two hour.
- 58:57Speaker 1: I appreciate that. I probably deserve it, and I will
- 58:59Speaker 1: say that.
- 58:59Speaker 3: I think it was deserved for being objective saying I'd
- 59:03Speaker 3: like to see the message. I think the whole Buffalo
- 59:06Speaker 3: Josh Allen thing stems from so many people who consider
- 59:09Speaker 3: themselves experts. I thought he was a stiff in the draft,
- 59:15Speaker 3: and they just can't bring themselves to say I was wrong.
- 59:19Speaker 1: I never had to take on him in the draft.
- 59:20Speaker 3: But I've said a million times it's not that hard
- 59:23Speaker 3: to say, no, I thought this was going to happen,
- 59:25Speaker 3: it didn't. I was wrong. It's not that hard. I
- 59:28Speaker 3: look in the mirror, I was wrong. It's not hard.
- 59:30Speaker 5: I could see my Bills hate coming back. I mean,
- 59:32Speaker 5: they just don't vex me right now. And I think
- 59:34Speaker 5: it's because the Patriots have been bad.
- 59:36Speaker 3: But you can hate the bills.
- 59:39Speaker 2: I don't.
- 59:39Speaker 3: I don't know, but there's there's an under you have
- 59:42Speaker 3: to listen to it, and you know me, Fred will
- 59:44Speaker 3: tell you. I sometimes I hear things that might might
- 59:48Speaker 3: not be heard by dogs, like there's an underlying lack
- 59:53Speaker 3: of respect still in my view, a right forel.
- 1:00:01Speaker 7: All eyes are gonna be on you and your team
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: Sunday night.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Do you enjoy primetime spotlight or I think.
- 1:00:08Speaker 12: If you wanna be if you wanna get to where
- 1:00:11Speaker 12: you wanna get to, I think you're you know, you
- 1:00:14Speaker 12: certainly better enjoy it, better enjoy uh playing in uh
- 1:00:17Speaker 12: primetime games. And that's something that you know, we're we're
- 1:00:22Speaker 12: trying to prepare for right now, and so I think that, uh,
- 1:00:25Speaker 12: certainly it'll be a huge challenge.
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: You know. The last time they lost at home was you.
- 1:00:31Speaker 12: Know, fourteen games ago, and we're we're we're well aware
- 1:00:34Speaker 12: of that and have to do a lot of really
- 1:00:36Speaker 12: good things, uh to give ourselves a chance.
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: And they.
- 1:00:41Speaker 12: Playing good football or playing clean football, they're not beating themselves,
- 1:00:44Speaker 12: and you know, they're doing a nice job in all phases.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Like you you faced off against Josh Shan lived the
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: first five years of his career. Just his development from
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: you know, year one to then when you saw him
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: here three to five. How impressive was that is?
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: Is there anything you everyone else can take away from
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: humping from as a player.
- 1:01:02Speaker 12: Well, I mean, I think he realized that he's got
- 1:01:05Speaker 12: immense talent, and I think he has done a much
- 1:01:09Speaker 12: greater job, better job of taking care of football.
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: And really that's been the the big difference for for
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: me just watching it from Afar.
- 1:01:20Speaker 12: You know, a few years ago, I was forcing things
- 1:01:24Speaker 12: in the red zone and that led to some turnovers,
- 1:01:28Speaker 12: some some interceptions, and now I think he just has
- 1:01:32Speaker 12: a greater understanding of, you know, taking care of football
- 1:01:35Speaker 12: in those situations.
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: And uh and they're still scoring touchdowns.
- 1:01:39Speaker 13: Do you have an update on July to buy you
- 1:01:41Speaker 13: expects him to be out there?
- 1:01:43Speaker 12: I expecting the practice, yes, So I don't have an
- 1:01:45Speaker 12: update on the game, but he will return to play
- 1:01:49Speaker 12: in practice.
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: If you find that balance, you're trying to defend a
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: quarterback play Josh Allen. If you want to get after
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: who you want.
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: To have the kind of kind of price if approptly.
- 1:01:58Speaker 12: Girls want to to take countess, well, there's always gonna
- 1:02:01Speaker 12: be an extra gap in there unless you send two
- 1:02:03Speaker 12: guys right, So there's a gap somewhere in there if
- 1:02:06Speaker 12: you rush four.
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: There's a gap in there if you rush five.
- 1:02:09Speaker 12: And but but again I think that it's just good coordinated,
- 1:02:13Speaker 12: relentless coordinated rush. You know, even when he guys are free,
- 1:02:19Speaker 12: he makes a mess, he spins, or he'll extend, you know,
- 1:02:24Speaker 12: out past the numbers to the red line and continue
- 1:02:26Speaker 12: to to make plays down the field, or hevn't forbid
- 1:02:29Speaker 12: he scrambles up the middle and you know, makes a
- 1:02:32Speaker 12: move on a guy like he's done in the past
- 1:02:33Speaker 12: in the last couple of weeks, or or breaks the
- 1:02:36Speaker 12: stiff arm out. So again it's a huge challenge, you know,
- 1:02:39Speaker 12: any time that he's carrying the football, and then obviously
- 1:02:42Speaker 12: the accuracy and kind of the timing that he's had
- 1:02:45Speaker 12: throwing the football will be something that will have to
- 1:02:48Speaker 12: work on.
- 1:02:50Speaker 14: James cooking this Buffalo run game to have so much success,
- 1:02:52Speaker 14: and more of the.
- 1:02:53Speaker 12: Keys to try to get pay them this way because
- 1:02:55Speaker 12: he's a good player. They got good guys blocking for him.
- 1:02:59Speaker 12: I think the tight end have done a really nice job.
- 1:03:02Speaker 12: And then I think his vision and his patience and
- 1:03:06Speaker 12: burst he just everybody's at the point of attack. He
- 1:03:09Speaker 12: runs where you're not, and if you have bad discipline
- 1:03:14Speaker 12: or you don't chase your gap when it's moving away from.
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: You, he's gonna come back and find it.
- 1:03:18Speaker 12: So it's really been a nice back form and it's
- 1:03:23Speaker 12: just you know, taking care the football with the with
- 1:03:27Speaker 12: the amount of carries that he's had.
- 1:03:28Speaker 14: Yeah, you seem to embrace the happy personnel than anybody
- 1:03:32Speaker 14: last yearanization offense the linement.
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: This year they're using pause sorting that role.
- 1:03:36Speaker 14: When it's on twenty two, I think yeah, late average
- 1:03:39Speaker 14: is three first naps a game for for twenty two
- 1:03:43Speaker 14: personnel and they're in the thirteen fourteen rangue.
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: What what sort of challenges that is a pretty.
- 1:03:47Speaker 12: Guests Well, not only the twenty two personnel, the the
- 1:03:51Speaker 12: thirteen personnel that you know, those are basically heavier personnels.
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: They do a nice job of having a run plan.
- 1:03:59Speaker 12: Each week out of it that they like and that
- 1:04:01Speaker 12: they think is going to give them success, but then
- 1:04:03Speaker 12: also still having the ability to keep the the route integrity,
- 1:04:09Speaker 12: uh and running some of the stuff out of that
- 1:04:11Speaker 12: with with Kincaid and Knocks and being able to do
- 1:04:15Speaker 12: all those things that they would do out of other
- 1:04:17Speaker 12: personnel groups.
- 1:04:18Speaker 14: Of course, it seems as if with Josh Allen the
- 1:04:21Speaker 14: Bills embraced really quickly the go today.
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: He's gonna run, it's gonna make mistakes, he's gonna be
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: a little bit of a wild stealie. Let's do that.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: So he's now come out the other.
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: Side of it with Braff, you guys are very much stressed.
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: Let's let's be a passive for us. Do you anticipate
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: both a course.
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: Of time that he would become more of a potent
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: runner and.
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: Embracing that the way that Allen does. I don't know
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: if I necessarily agree with that.
- 1:04:45Speaker 12: I think that we want Drake to play quarterback, and
- 1:04:50Speaker 12: that's to work the progression and work the scheme of
- 1:04:54Speaker 12: the play. And then, you know, have never said not
- 1:04:58Speaker 12: to to run and just to protect himself and to
- 1:05:03Speaker 12: protect the ball. So I don't necessarily agree with that,
- 1:05:10Speaker 12: you know. And then you know, with Josh Allen, I
- 1:05:11Speaker 12: think everybody he's gonna play quarterback. How he feels like
- 1:05:15Speaker 12: he gives him the best chance to win, And you
- 1:05:18Speaker 12: know lead his team to victory each week, which has
- 1:05:20Speaker 12: been pretty successful.
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: Is his athletic skill set.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: The size this team, how.
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: Would he uses It's like mcnera Roethlisberg's.
- 1:05:28Speaker 12: Big Not into comparisons. I think that he's a very
- 1:05:33Speaker 12: very good athlete. I think he loves football, and I
- 1:05:36Speaker 12: think he's got an energy to him and and there's
- 1:05:41Speaker 12: a willingness to run. Certainly contact courage doesn't lack any
- 1:05:45Speaker 12: of that. You know, it's like Wildcat when they when
- 1:05:49Speaker 12: they choose to to run him on design runs.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Without getting into the one for one comparison. Is his
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: skill set, It's difficult.
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: To defend, as maybe any other quarterback you player.
- 1:05:58Speaker 12: Coach will be this week. It'll be the toughest challenge
- 1:06:02Speaker 12: this week. But again his reason that he's up there
- 1:06:07Speaker 12: in the MVP every year and that these teams are
- 1:06:10Speaker 12: very successful.
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: Got a lot of respect for him.
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: And he knows that with four games, I'm your belt.
- 1:06:16Speaker 15: Now, how far along do you feel like you are
- 1:06:19Speaker 15: in identifying the consistent strengths of the team week to week?
- 1:06:22Speaker 13: And is it kind of where you expect.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: It to be.
- 1:06:24Speaker 12: I didn't really have many expectations, just because you never
- 1:06:28Speaker 12: really know, I think we're just trying to do it
- 1:06:30Speaker 12: each and every week, and we have to continue to
- 1:06:32Speaker 12: build that and practice that. But it's a good reminder
- 1:06:35Speaker 12: of that when we can do those things, that we
- 1:06:37Speaker 12: can have success and we give ourselves a chance to win.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: Like just picking back a.
- 1:06:41Speaker 15: Little bit, when Karen was asking about it being a
- 1:06:43Speaker 15: big moment in the spotlight on a Sunday.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: Night, do you relish the opportunity to go into a
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: place like Buffalo where they've had so much success.
- 1:06:50Speaker 12: In the crowd is so into Sure, I mean, I
- 1:06:52Speaker 12: think you have to. I mean, one, we don't have
- 1:06:54Speaker 12: any other choice, But I think you have to. And
- 1:06:56Speaker 12: I think it's important that we can take the next
- 1:06:58Speaker 12: step and show that but that we are ready and
- 1:07:02Speaker 12: that maybe some of our identity has a chance to
- 1:07:05Speaker 12: let itself out on Sunday night. And but it'll be
- 1:07:09Speaker 12: a great challenge, it'd be a challenge to even just
- 1:07:11Speaker 12: prepare today and get going and focus on all those
- 1:07:14Speaker 12: things that are going to help us in the road environment.
- 1:07:16Speaker 11: Historically, Todd down he's in a lot of work in
- 1:07:18Speaker 11: the red zone for the other teams you work with,
- 1:07:20Speaker 11: Where has his work shown up there for you?
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Guys.
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: If it all same, you know what I mean. It's
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: the same, you know what I mean.
- 1:07:27Speaker 12: I like to go in and talk with with Todd
- 1:07:30Speaker 12: and Thomas and get some preliminary thoughts and some things
- 1:07:33Speaker 12: that we may like and then be able to present
- 1:07:35Speaker 12: it to Josh as we work due to week.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: So you know, those guys are as involved as they
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: always have been.
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: How do you assess your safety and if you needed
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: to tap into that, anyone in that corner room that
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: might have some flexibility to play back there.
- 1:07:52Speaker 12: I don't I haven't thought about I don't think we've
- 1:07:55Speaker 12: thought about taking any corners and making them safeties just yet.
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: Like let's make their past.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Defense as effective this. It's been a thin fair number
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: one of the league's yards.
- 1:08:03Speaker 12: In the past, very sound, the great vision and break players.
- 1:08:08Speaker 12: You know, they got some guys on the corner on
- 1:08:10Speaker 12: the edge that have some length. Backers are fast, instinctive,
- 1:08:15Speaker 12: and the safeties do a great job of disguising and
- 1:08:18Speaker 12: then once the match the route declares, you know, being
- 1:08:21Speaker 12: able to match it and play it. It's they've done
- 1:08:25Speaker 12: a nice, really nice job. But they stay multiple proficient
- 1:08:29Speaker 12: in a lot of different coverages and they mix it
- 1:08:31Speaker 12: up on you.
- 1:08:31Speaker 15: They're trying to keep things in front for the most part,
- 1:08:34Speaker 15: seems like not a lot of deeper passes been.
- 1:08:37Speaker 12: Yeah, I mean, I think that's probably fair, But I
- 1:08:39Speaker 12: don't think you know, it's not like they're playing cover
- 1:08:41Speaker 12: two extensively, you know. I mean, there's a lot of
- 1:08:45Speaker 12: post safety and you know, they get into their quarters
- 1:08:48Speaker 12: and then they blitz different people off of it. But
- 1:08:50Speaker 12: it's a very sound and instinctive defense with guys that trigger,
- 1:08:55Speaker 12: and when it gets thrown short, they do a great
- 1:08:57Speaker 12: job of breaking and vice tackling and not missing a
- 1:09:00Speaker 12: whole lot of tackles and when the quarterback decides to
- 1:09:02Speaker 12: check it down.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: I seen when at linebacker over the last couple of weeks.
- 1:09:07Speaker 14: Do you see that continuing or would you prefer to
- 1:09:09Speaker 14: stick with one guy next to school.
- 1:09:12Speaker 12: I don't mind rotating, and I think that everybody's just
- 1:09:15Speaker 12: trying to help us out. We've got a lot of
- 1:09:16Speaker 12: guys that play special teams. We've got guys that play
- 1:09:19Speaker 12: rotating there on defense, we play a lot of different
- 1:09:21Speaker 12: skill players offensively, So you know, I think that that
- 1:09:24Speaker 12: can be a good bet, you know, I mean, good balance, This.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Will be good My last visit to Buffalo unless you
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: go back and close season. Do you look at the
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: what do you recollection to that stadium bat environment?
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: And did you really really love the visitors law for them? Yeah?
- 1:09:40Speaker 12: Didn't It wasn't it Ralph Wilson Stadium. Yeah, I mean
- 1:09:44Speaker 12: I think again. I love the ride up. I love
- 1:09:46Speaker 12: the passionate fans and you know mean coming up into
- 1:09:48Speaker 12: that day and driving down the you know, on the
- 1:09:51Speaker 12: road and seeing the same things you saw for you know,
- 1:09:54Speaker 12: twenty years, you know, being in this league. So it's
- 1:09:57Speaker 12: a great sports town and uh, you know we're excited
- 1:10:00Speaker 12: to go there on Sunday night.

- 1:12:23Speaker 3: They were unnecessary one ever?
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Right that came out of nowhere. They were, They were loaded.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: We'll get that on post. Get that on post.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: That's another great moment from.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: All right back here on Patriots Unfiltered. As you can see,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: Uh dudes has gone to the locker room. He'll be
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: back with a report. Evan already left early because he
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: was that Vrabel and he'll be also in the locker room.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: So we'll get the word from the locker room when
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: they returned. But we just heard from Mike Rabel and Paul.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: You know, what do you think were the takeaways?
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: Yeah? I think that there was a whole lot to
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: this one. But as we talked about in the first hour,
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: I would say that Mike Rabel very much is looking
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: forward to this opportunity. I think he relishes these this role.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: I think National TV on the road against one of
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: the NFL's elite, I think he likes those.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: And it's funny because he was asked that question just
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: that way, and if it was Bill Belgian, well, you know,
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: it's just another game and you know where they're all important,
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: blah blah blah. But Mike said, no, this is big game.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: We hope that we can have our identity start to
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: develop or come forth in this game under the lights
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Sunday night, the whole country, will you know, Like He's like, yeah,
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: I own it. This is going to be big.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: And you know, I thought there was some questions in
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: the middle about, you know, sort of Josh Allen and
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: you know, comparing him to others and Drake May, and
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: he doesn't really want to get into any of those
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: comparison kind of talk. I did find it interesting there
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: was a question in there about sort of limiting May's creativity.
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: You know, I'm paraphrasing that wasn't the actual question, but
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: his running and Mike sort of took exception to that,
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: like's I would disagree with that.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: I never told him that.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: You know, he wants him to protect himself and protect
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: the ball, but not necessarily not to run. So I
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: think that is kind of a narrative that is, you know,
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: permeated for the first month.
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: We got an update on Julia.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: Yeah, he's going to start practicing. His window can officially
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: open today, so the four weeks that he had a
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: miss being on ir So now, assuming that he's out
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: there at practice, we'll find out later, but assuming he
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: was out there, that that thus opens a twenty one
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: day window that he can practice before the Patriots have
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: to make a decision on whether or not the active.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: He can play any time, but they have to make
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: he could play Sunday.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: If they wanted him to play Sunday, they could activate
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: him to the rosters before the game this week, but
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: they have twenty one days to make that determination.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Yep, Okay, So that was Mike Vrabel.
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: My guess is we won't see him this week, but
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: maybe he It's a week you know, kind of like Gonzo.
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: You know, you have a week of practice under your belt,
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: and the second week of practice and you come back.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: So Tavai hasn't really done much in a long time.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and we talked about this in the postgame show.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Maybe with his the way he plays linebacker, he could
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: be helpful this year. Yeah.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: At the very least, he gives you some depth at
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: a spot that you don't have a ton of it.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: Yep, all right, eight five five Pats five hundred is
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: the hotline. That's how you can call us podcast at
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Patriots dot com is the email address, and a lot
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: of emails coming in. Norwe from Arizona writes in he
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: said he's pumped about the game and the national stage.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: He said he emailed Thursday show about reading into a
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: running back drill when Henderson was the first one leading
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: the tackling ball carrier. One. I recall Evan being dismissive
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: of this, also considered that this information came from a
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: Mike Reese tweet. Well, look at what happened on Sunday.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: You had Henderson and Gibson getting goal line touchdown carries
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: while Stevenson didn't. Is this something else with is this
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: something that we also shouldn't be reading into?
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: And Stevenson started, That's why Evan said not to read into.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I do have a question. If the Patriots are
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: hanging with Buffalo in a back and forth game where
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: both teams are alternating leads throughout the game and the
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: games come down to who has the ball last, if
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: the Patriots end up falling short over a last minute
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: score by Buffalo, how will you guys end up feeling
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: about the team afterwards.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: Yeah, these are all very I think they're all very
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: good questions, and I just would say I kind of
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: need to see the way the game unfolds generally, without
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: getting too detailed, you know, with this, I would say
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: I'd feel pretty good about the scenario that he just
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: kind of unfolded there. But you just, you know, let's
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: say that they fall short at the end, Fred, Why
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: did they fall short? Right, Someone drop a pass, someone
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: miss a blitz. It may overthrow somebody.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: You know, there's a lot of different ways that you
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: can fall short and not feel great about it. But
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: in general terms, I would say, if the Patriots have
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: a chance to win this game on Sunday, I probably
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: would feel pretty good about the Patriots. Yeah, general, you know,
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: generally speaking, I mean, if they're plus four in the
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: turnover ratio and they lose the game, I'm probably not
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: going to feel as great as I might, you know,
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: But if they go to Buffalo on a Sunday night
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: and take Buffalo's best shot and have a chance to win,
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: I think, you know, most Patriots fans, I think are
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: probably going to feel pretty pretty good about the team's
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: fortunes going forward.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Adrian and Delaware, I know you guys don't do the
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: paper anymore, but I think it would be fun on
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: the Tuesday shows to brainstorm with the listener, is what
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: the cover picture of the previous game would be and
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: what the headline would say. For example, after the Carolina game,
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: would the picture be the Marcus Jones punt return or
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: Drake May Superman celebration?
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: Good question, Yeah, it probably would have depended. I'm going
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: to jump into Freddy's head here. Fred used to look
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: at the photos and a lot of times that would
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: determine what you what you went with if it was
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: a great photo, you know. As an example, my guess
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: is we would have had the cover of the Miami
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: game would have been Antonio Gibson running side by side
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: with Mike Rabela, the great David Silverman photo. Longtime Patriots photog.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: He didn't want to give him his props. David Silverman
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: one of the few that's been around longer than.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: Both of us, right, been longer than the Crafts have
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: been here.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Yeah, So that my guess is that you would have
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: seen that and said we got to get this on
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: the cover.
- 1:18:53Speaker 6: Yep.
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: You know, so a lot of times you would look
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: at those photos and say, well, I know, the Marcus
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Jones punt return was probably the biggest player of the game,
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: but this photo over here is a better photo, Yeah,
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: and then gone with that. Yeah, but I love I
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: love the idea of the Superman thing that would have been.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: That would have been kind of cool.
- 1:19:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: So, like Paul said, you know, you what was going
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: in on, what were the plays of the game, But
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: then you see the photos, and back then it was
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: a little bit different. Especially in the nineties, you didn't
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: have the thousands of photos that these guys take now digitally,
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: so you had to be more selective with what actually
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: came out nicely, and like Paul said, sometimes the quality
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: of the photo dictated the cover and then you'd have
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: to figure out the headline from that.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: Because we had like off and running with Gibson on
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: that kick return.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: Yeah something like that. Yeah, yeah, but yeah, too good.
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: That's fine. I kind of missed that.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: Marcus Jones, too good. Two good, there you go, punt return.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there you go. That's a good one. Good, Paul,
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: that was a cliche. That's good. That's good. But I
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: don't mind doing that. Like what's your cover headline?
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: And you know what, let's make that a thing on Tuesdays.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: If we get you guys in your emails, email in
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: what your cover words would have been? Yeah, and then
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: we can maybe spend maybe fifteen minutes every Tuesday talking
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: about it.
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: Maybe we can actually pick a picture and have it
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: up on the screen and say, okay, here's the picture. Yeah,
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: give us the headline. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: It used to be a big thing on the bus. Yeah,
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: on road games, you know, Fred and Andy and I
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: would sit around the guys from like the radio, the
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: sports hub. Mark Capello, a longtime producer of the Patriots games.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: Would you know, he would immediately come on, Freddy, what's
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: the Cover's the cover? What's the cover like? And we
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: would all sort of talk about it, and full disclosure,
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: Fred and Andy would come up with far more of
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: the covers than I would because it wasn't my thing
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: and I always got shot down. But that's it was
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: kind of a collaborative. We would do it on the
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: bus a lot on those road games.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: Also, I think Alex should have a word of the
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: week on Wednesday or Thursday. But the word or phrase
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: must be in Portuguese. Maybe another Jill jingle. Perhaps I
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: speak Spanish, but I'd love to learn a bit of Portuguese,
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: especially since the Patriots are marketed in Brazil. This could
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: be the spiritual successor to Eric's word of the day. Yeah,
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: play yeah. Eric used to have a word of the day.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: I remember as if his vocabulary was so much more
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: so fast, yeah, half the words you would mispronounce. Oh man,
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: Eric Poor Eric Jeff and Hickory, North Carolina calls himself
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: the Southern Patriot. If you look at it, we are
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: a turnover away from being at least three and one,
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: and then we would have a chance at this week
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: against the Bills. Why the only two things I worry about? Oh,
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: I see, yes, you only think that's what he probably Dideah.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: I think the only two things I worry about with
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: the Bills is our defense. In the first quarter, they
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: toughen up after that and turnover differential. Regardless, we have
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: a chance if Drake has more than thirty rushing yards
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: and no interceptions, change my mind. So Drake with thirty
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: rushing yards and no interceptions, I.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: Don't think they I mean no interceptions is important. I
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: don't think they need any certain amount of yards rushing.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I think. I think if he has three yards rushing,
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: you have a chance.
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: Does he throw the ball well right?
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: And is he rushing because he's being chased all over
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: the place? Yeah, I mean I everybody will has a
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: very contextual game.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: I would say anybody that goes into a game like
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: this and things, you don't have a chance. I just
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: don't know what you've watched. Like, why wouldn't the team
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: average and New Owans had a chance last week? I
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: think New OANs is one of the worst teams in football.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: So why wouldn't the Patriots at two and two have
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: a chance. They of course they have a chance. Yes,
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: of course they do.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: I want to do a little Patriot It's uh.
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: This is the time to do it when no one's
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: here around.
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: Sure, just play Okay, this is Max in Atlanta, who
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: had the longest rush in the longest reception for the
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: Patriots last season.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: To be good for me, I'm going to say Antonio
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Gibson had the longest of both.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: You're right, you would be correct, and one.
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: Of them was definitely against San Francisco.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: Forty five yard ron in a fifty yard catch. When
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: was the last year a wide receiver had the longest
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: reception for the Patriots? When was the last year a
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: wide receiver had the longest reception for the Patriots. I
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: would never have gotten this. I don't even remember the play.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: I'll give you the year. Want me to give you
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: the twenty one?
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: Oh so would this be like a Jacksonville or a
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: Jets game?
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: I don't know. He doesn't have the game. No, no,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: I'll give you the yardage. Seventy five yards.
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: It was a long play. Kendrick Bourne Hendrick Oh Dallas overtime,
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: the overtime loss at home against Dallas, seventy five yard
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: that gave him the lead in the fourth quarter.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: Matt Jones had a nice pass.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it actually should have been picked but
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: seventy five yard touchdown to Bourne the play after Jones
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: had just thrown a pick six.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: Okay, in two thousand and four, one player on the
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: Patriots had one hundred percent completion percentage. Who was it?
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: What year?
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: Two thousand and four? This isn't This is kind of
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: a trick question. Two thousand and four.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: Adam vinit Terry, that's correct.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: One pass, one touchdown.
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: Four yards. Troy Brown hat rams Yep.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: And that was also a game where Troy Brown played cornerback, right,
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: he played He played defense in that game. Yeah, in
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: twenty fifteen, we won our first ten games. What city
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: were we playing in when we lost our first game?
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: That season?
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: Twenty fifteen they won their first ten Yeah, now, come on,
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: this game has a name? Would not have remembered that
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: Harper's muff?
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Denver?
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: That was their first loss that year.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, they were ten and o going into that game,
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: remember that, So I remember they lost and Gronkowski had
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: the injury.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: They lost four out of the last six, I believe,
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: and all of them fell at least partly on the
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: shoulders of Bill Belichick. I've gone to that those are
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: my greatest hits. Two thousand and fifty. Yeah, kicking, kicking
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: off and overtime, I mean yeah, kicking off and overtime
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: at the Jets Harper's mouth, Harper's mouth, take a kid off.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: The practice squad put him back to return a punt
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter in a snowstorm.
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: In two thousand and five.
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: I'm just gonna run Stephen Jackson every play in Miami
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: the course. Now you got me all riled up.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: That was a tough That was a tough year. That
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: was a tough year. Should have been better in five
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: we lost in the same city in Week six and
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: in the Visional Round. Where were those games played?
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Denver?
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: Again obviously, he says, yeah, yep, that one.
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: That one's more obvious.
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: And finally, one team has played four home games this season?
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: Which team is it?
- 1:26:18Speaker 10: Uh?
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: You mean after Sunday?
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: No one's played full home games.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: Okay, so after Sunday Buffalo.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: We talked about this on Sunday.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: Well, he says, Denver. But it's just a joke.
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: Oh oh, I thought he was being serious because of
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: like this is we I don't really recall this. Buffalo
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: is going to play at home Sunday night. It's going
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: to be four the first five at home. Yeah, that's
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: a lot.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: We thought it might have something to do with the stadium,
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: but we looked at the end of the year, they
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: were also playing at home.
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: Then that's why I thought I was you know, he
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: was being serious. Yes, but Denver is at home every week.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: PS. Yesterday you guys talked about Higgins being traded since
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: he's a creative. We got that.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: I was definitely wrong on that one. See it's not
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: that hard when you have the wrong information, you just
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: say I was wrong.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Ye Wisconsin, Glenn right, Sin The Bills haven't played a
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: good NFL team yet. Ravens, Well, they are a good team. Jets,
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: Miami and Saints aren't good. The Patriots could be a
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: step up in competition. They need to leverage their offense
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: and special teams. The defense will be under.
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: Direct Okay, so here's where I You know, with all
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: the I think that they can compete, you should absolutely
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: expect to compete. Why don't they have a chance. I'm
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: going to say all those things. So if we're not
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: counting Baltimore as a good team, who are the Patriots played?
- 1:27:34Speaker 6: Right? Right?
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Right, they're good, Miami.
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: They're good, right, Like those are bad. They've played bad teams.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: There's a reason why Baltimore still has a better chance
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: odds wise to win the AFC North than Pittsburgh. Yeah,
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: because everybody looks at the teams and says that one's
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: better than that one. But I yeah, Like I said,
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: I give the Patriots every opportunity to go to Buffalo
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: and put their best foot forward. They should, They should
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: expect to compete and win. They should.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: Martin out of Kansas, good day, he says, Fred, you
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: have the phrase, what do the Sharks know game? When
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: the game open, it was Bills by ten and a hay.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: Now it's Bills by seven and a hay. I find
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: it interesting. Are they giving the Patriots more respect?
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: I saw eight and a half to seven and a half.
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: But I trust you it could also mean they just
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: need to get Bills money in because the Patriots at
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: ten and a half while the fans were crazy and
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: making the best.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and the Patriots have been I would say, offensively
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: better than a lot of people thought they would be.
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: I think two and two is not I mean two
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: and two is not a surprise. A lot of people
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: figured at the start of the season they had three
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: and one was in play, so two and two was
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: not a surprise. But I would say the offense has
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: been a little bit of a surprise. Don't you think
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: that they've been better offensively?
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: Well, I thought they would be better, so I thought.
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: They would be better. But they've been good this difference,
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: you know what I mean? Okay, Like like I mean,
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: I don't really care about these numbers that Mike and
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: Evan liked to throw because they're all percentages, yep. But
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: they're like in the top five in the league and
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: a lot of numbers wise, but I I think there's
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: they're like sixth or eighth or something in point.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: But I expected see to see an improvement in the
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: you know, I did too. It was Drake, it was
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: the line, it was the coaching.
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: I did too. I just didn't expect them to be
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: over thirty twice in the first four weeks.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: Okay, I didn't.
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: I thought they would be better all the things you said,
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: but I didn't expect them to be scoring thirty plus
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: and forty plus in the first four weeks of the season.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: Okay, But as you know, it wasn't really forty, but
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: it was.
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: It was.
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: It was closer to really forty than it was over
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: thirty of Miami game.
- 1:29:50Speaker 6: Yep.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Valentine from Switzerland, if we hang with the Bills and
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: we have a drive to end the win in May,
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: would it be a moral victory? We talked about that.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: The only concern I have left with Drake May is
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: his ability to win close games. Usually top quarterbacks in
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: this league have already won multiple games coming from behind
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: to this point.
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: I mean, you're right, he hasn't done. I mean, they
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: did win a close game in Miami, but it wasn't
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: because Drake May came from behind to do it. That
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: he had the kick return that did it. Yeah, I
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: mean that's probably the next step in his evolution is
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: when the game is on the line, do you play
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: the same way you have been playing?
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: Right? Yep? A quick midweek game. Regarding the current roster
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: for the following groups of three players, I would like
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: to know if you would either keep the current player,
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: switch the player for the alternate or alternative from the
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: other team, or switch the player for a former Patriot. Oh,
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: this is too complicated. I'm not doing it. It's too complicated.
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: Can you give me just one example?
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: All right, I'll give you one example. Three choices running back,
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: keep ramondre Stevenson, switch for Cam Scataboo, or switch for
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: prime Vegas Ferguson. Okay, so he keeps Yes, so I
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: thought he wanted us.
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: You probably you would probably trade him for Cam's camp Scataboo.
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: In three yards of no, I keep remondre Stevens, would
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: wide receiver, keep Stefan Diggs, switch him for Matthew Golden
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: or switch for prime Cedric Jones.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: I think I would switch him for Matthew Golden for
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: the age, the age difference. Okay, I mean Diggs is
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: a better player, I mean right now.
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: But what if you're just talking about this season not
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: you know, like I.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: Think Golden's pretty good, and I think he could be
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: really good.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: All right, what's going on?
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: And I don't know. There's a lot of conversations, a lot.
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: Of u F bombs being thrown out there. Tight End,
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: keep Hunter, Henry, switch for Dalton Kincaid, or switch for
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: prime Rod Rutledge.
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: I would keep Hunter because of Evan's thing. He's more
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: of a well rounded tight end. I liked Alton Kincaid.
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: Evan doesn't. I think he's a good player, but he's
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: not much of a blocker. Henry does it does a
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: little bit of everything.
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: O line, keep Mike and when you switch for Matt Pryor,
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: or switch for Prime Steven Neil.
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: Oh, Steven Neil, Yeah, I don't know who Matt Prior is.
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: Full disclosure, cornerback.
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: Keep Christian Gonzales, switch for Cooper Dejene or switch for
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: Prime Malcolm Butler, Yeah, keep, come on. Finally, keep Drake
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: May switch for Baker Mayfield, or switch for Prime Cam Newton.
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: I think I would keep Drake May me too. Prime
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: Cam Newton is m v P tempting, but I think
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: that he's Mays a better passer, even at even at
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: Newton's height of his prop powers, I think may is
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: a better passer, So I would keep May. Yep, that
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: was a little bit more enjoyable.
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: I didn't know he actually gave us the options. I
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: thought we were have to like sit here and think
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: about who we would switch them for. Alex from Austin, Texas.
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: We often talk about how explosive Marcus Jones is with
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: the ball in his hands. Yeah, Paul's guy.
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: I know where this is going.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: This past weekend was exceptional evidence of that. Do we
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: think there will be a time this season we'll see
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: him on offense?
- 1:33:23Speaker 6: Yep?
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: I know we've seen it in the past, But do
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: we think Josh will ever play that card? In PS?
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: My Rivalry's jersey just came in and it is incredible.
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: It's fire. I do think there's a chance that we'll
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: see that this week. No, No, I'm not calling for
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: it this weekkay, necessarily, I'm just saying I think there's
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: a chance that you'll see Marcus Jones on offense.
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: Okay, all right, Matthew from Wichita right sin. In the
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: first part of the show, there was a lot of
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: praise for the Buffalo pass catchers because how many good
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: to okay options they have. Isn't that sort of the
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: same thing the Patriots have. I think the Patriots pass
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: catching group doesn't get enough praise for their diversity of talent.
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: Each of the Patriots receivers has their own unique skill
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: set and very little overlap. Would you rather have the
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: Patriots pass catching group or the Bills?
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: I think they're both subpar.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: Well, which one would you rather have?
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: Probably Buffalo only because of Diggs's age, but I think
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: they're very similar. And I would just say, I mean,
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: it sounded like there was like a a gotcha moment
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: in that email. I No, I agree, and that's why
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: I think most people think Buffalo's receivers stink like I
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: think he was trying to say, well, if Buffalo is
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: this or that or the other thing, then why are
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: we not saying that about the Patriots?
- 1:34:51Speaker 11: No, we are.
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: I think they both kind of lacking in star power
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: at the receiver position. Yeah right, okay, now digs like
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: prime digs, which you know, if he would prime digs,
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: he'd still be on Buffalo, right, he hasn't been that guy.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: Gavin writes in if the Patriots somehow pull off the wind,
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: what are you guys thoughts on trading trying to trade
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: for a J. Brown? And how great would this benefit
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: the team going forward?
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: I'd be interested in trading for AJ Brown win lose
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: right now?
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: Yeah? Sure, yep, Okay, waiting for uh be coming in?
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: But I do like you don't get the heads up anymore.
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: He just storms in.
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: No, it's it's become a thing. It's become a thing.
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: Somebody said that just prior to the song, like there
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: should be that noise that Stone calls Stone cold Steve
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: Austin when he smashes through Uh. But anyway, we'll see
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: what they got cooked up back there the midst aw
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: the yelling. I don't know what the yelling was.
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: I just said that it was just today.
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: We had a caller call and that was Costello is
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: calling in from New Hampshire. His new favorite caller is
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: Brian from Lowell and the way he sucks the fun
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: out of the room and grinds the podcast to a halt.
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: It's hilarious hearing Fred depressingly muttered, yell okay to get
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: the call over his comedy gold keep Brian.
- 1:36:22Speaker 3: Please, everyone's welcome. Not everybody has the same level of play,
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: you know, or time for your phone call and we
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: take everyone yeap. Why can't Booty be the explosive deep threat?
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: He says? Is it Booty or boutet Booty? Yeah, it's
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: Booty right, Yeah. I heard the announcers say, oh, it's.
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: I don't know our own guy. I don't know why.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: I don't know why that happened.
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: The TD bomb he caught last year against Houston and
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: a few others from last season seemed like that could
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: have been a role for him, or am I remembering
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: that wrong.
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: I have a lot of hope for him, so I
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: would say that he has gotten deep a few times,
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: but don't confuse that with being a consistent deep threat.
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: I don't think he has great straight line speed, but
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: he has shown the ability to get open deep on occasion,
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: and they really haven't tried a lot of those. They
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: have tried a few of them, yep, here and there, but.
- 1:37:15Speaker 2: I mean the one in Miami was like twenty five yards.
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: It's not really sixteen sixteen yards sixteen yards, Yeah, but
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: they I'm like, I'm thinking of the deep one down
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: the sideline. They went to him deep on a pass
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: interference against Pittsburgh. I think they've tried it a couple
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: of times here in that, but they haven't really stretched
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: the field very much on verticals, as Heaven would would say.
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: Lastly, the linebackers have been bad. He's got it in caps.
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: If Juwan Bentley was still on the team, could that
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: have been a fit he could cover a little bit
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: or is his body type not a fit for what
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: they're doing on defense?
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: Juwan Bentley was not known for his coverage.
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: He was run stopped.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: He was a better run stopper than probably they've gotten
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: better tackler. But evidently they felt like he wasn't a
- 1:38:00Speaker 3: scheme fit, and you know, they went with some smaller,
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: quicker guys in Spalaine in Ellis, you know, and it
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: could have been.
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: A cultural thing. Not that Juwan was great for the
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: locker room, but I think in terms of the leadership
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: of this team, Bentley was a former captain, and I
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: think Rabel might have, just guessing here, wanted his guys
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: as leaders.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: And you see, you know, first first year Patriots like
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: Spulaine in Landry, you know, in that captain role. So
- 1:38:33Speaker 3: I think you'd probably right about that.
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: I don't know why this person's asking this question, Ashton,
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: but the question is, would you consider trading Drake May
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: in two first rounds? Oh, it's a joke. Would you
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: consider trading Drake May and two first round picks for
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: Carson Wentz in a third round pick? I thought it
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: was the other word around, that we would get to
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: first round picks. So it's even absurd, but just being crazy.
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: That's weird though, it's like not even no, I think
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: it's a joke, but it's not, you know, it's not
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: even jokey though. No, I don't know, Yeah, but I
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: don't think there's very much that I would be considering
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: trading Drake May for.
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: That right now. I mean, he's the sky's a limit
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: the way it looks right now, we're we're starting to
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: see who I.
- 1:39:21Speaker 3: Want to see it out. I want to s see
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: it play out. Does he get better? Does he continue
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: to you know, add add some tools to his bag?
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: And and and what I hope is you see the
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: continuation this year. But I also hope there's some continuity
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: with the coaching staff next year. Like, you know, Josh
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: is still here, Thomas Brown doesn't head off to.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: The you know, yeah, I mean, you probably have a
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: chance to lose some of the other guys, but this,
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: you know, there's a good chance if if everybody wants
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: to return. And you know, like I don't think Josh
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: is going anywhere, right, I mean, at this stage, I
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: don't think he's going to get another joaching office.
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: Okay, So here's another thing that just struck me with
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: Rabel's press conference today. He was talking about, you know,
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: the game plan for the offense, and he says, you know,
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: I'll talk to Thomas Brown and who's the other guy
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: he mentioned, Todd down Now, Downing, we'll talk about some
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: things and then we'll present that to Josh.
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: I thought that was interesting that I think I might
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: have missed that yeah when I stepped out to Yeah, I.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: Don't know if. I don't know if we can get
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: that clip. But he said that he would talk to
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: Todd Downing and Thomas Brown and they would present things.
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: He's going out of his way to create something there.
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: I don't know why. I don't know what exactly the
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: story is. But every time the subject of offensive coaching
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: comes up, right, there seems to be a long way
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: to Grandma's house that doesn't really include a direct route
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: to Josh mctay right.
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: Right, So I I that caught my ear. That caught
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: my ear. I don't know if it caught anyone else's. Uh.
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: I don't even if, like guys back in KSP could
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: get that clip and we could play that.
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: I guess is it's going to catch the era of
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: ear of you know my shows too, because those are
- 1:41:09Speaker 3: kinds of drama written sure elements that they love.
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: They love to infuse drama into people's comments. Hustin right, Sin.
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: I just want to say, you guys are great. I
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: enjoy the show. Would you rather have the Patriots win
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: big because of great defense or win a close game
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: where Drake leads a game winning drive. That's a good question. Actually,
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: close game where Drake wins it on the game winning drive,
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: or they dominate and they win big because they shut
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: down the Bills.
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: Oh, I think I would rather have the Drake May.
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: Really Yeah, you don't want to see the defense like
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: come alive and.
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: Shut down the Bills again, as long as it's a
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: w I don't. I'm not going to sit there and
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: throw it away.
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: Well, nobody is either.
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: I think the thing that is most sustainable his offense,
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: Drake May. If he can be that, I'll take that.
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: But we've seen the offense starting to get better. We
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: still have some questions on the defense. This would be
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: great for this to be a defensive.
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: Personally, I would think that myself. You asked me my opinion,
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: I would look at it as a one off, whereas
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: I think it's a continuation of Drake made.
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: You can't have two off until you have a one off, Paul.
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: I mean, I just don't think there's a lot of
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: teams in the league that consistently shut down good offenses.
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: I don't care who you are, I don't know anybody else.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: We had a big defensive game that mat me off.
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: Like we're talking about Like earlier in the show, we
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: had Jack and Ann Arbor tell us about how the
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: secret to stopping America has Baltimore was X Y and Z,
- 1:42:44Speaker 3: I see a hand raised and.
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: Oh okay and Baltimore.
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: You know, the secret to stopping Baltimore was limiting to
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: thirty points. Like that to me is that? And I
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: agree with Jack. I think Detroit played well that night defensively, yep.
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: That's why. Like if if they won the game like
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: thirty eight to ten and the defense was just suffocating,
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: I would say, great, it's a great win. But I
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: don't think you can do that again.
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: No, but it would be good that I don't know.
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: Or if it's thirty eight thirty four and you want
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: on a shootout because Drake May was outdueled Josh Allen,
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: I think you could do that, But.
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: Then we come out of that game still worried about
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: our defense.
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: What I'm telling you is I would still be worried
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: about the defense regardless.
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: I know, but at least you have some.
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: Well in the league, not the Patriots. I know, defense
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: in general in the league is I agree that there's
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: a lot of talk about these college gimmicky offenses are
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: way behind, and it's hard to play the you the
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: canfl that they the scoring is is just there on
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: a consistent.
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: For the record, I would take the big win with
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: a defensive shutdown so that.
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: I have those numbers that I was talking to you
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: about a little a while ago about Rabel as an underdog. Yep,
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: So I asked Mike to send me to the actual
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: data regular and postseason games as a seven and a
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: half point or more underdog. So that's what the Patriots are,
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: seven and a half point underdog, seven and a half
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: or more underdogs. Rabel was four and four as the
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: Tennessee coach. The rest of the league in that situation
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: was sixty seven and three hundred and twenty seven for
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: a winning percentage of seventeen percent. So the Patriots what
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: the Titans went five hundred?
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: What's the window that we're talking about from two thousand?
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: Like what year twenty eighteen to twenty three? Okay, Well
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: Rabel was with Tennessee. Okay, so that five years span,
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: six six year span. Okay, that's impressive.
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: Four and four as a seven and a half point
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: underdog or more. This is outright, This isn't a spread.
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: Outright four and four rest of the league sixty seven
- 1:44:51Speaker 3: and three hundred and twenty seven for a one to
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: seventy winning percentage. That's a big, big gap. Yeah, okay,
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: and just as an underdog of any kind, Vrabel had
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: the second best record in the league only to Mike
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: tom wins winning percentage in that same time time period.
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: Oh, let's hope that trend continues, so that we got
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: you saying that we got a chance. Yes, okay, John
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: and Virginia formerly at Brockton has some trivia or not.
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: I don't know if it's trivia. It's just kind of
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: a guessing game. Name one other player to wear the
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: number twelve jersey other than Tom Brady for the Patriots.
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: Tom Ramsey, that's one. Oh my, Matt Cavanaugh.
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: That's two. I would never have guessed how many three?
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: Two of them? Eddie Wilson, I don't know who that is.
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: Name five players to wear the thirty three jersey from
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: eighty one to the present.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: Tony Collins that's one, Devin Falk.
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: Two, there's one. Where bring it right now?
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: Oh, Anthony Jennings.
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: Three.
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: That was that was a prototypical Paul. I can remember
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: the day Collins forget Anthony Jennings, Yeah, I don't really
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: have anything.
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: Juwan Williams, Jeremy Hill, Deon Lewis, Leon Washington, Sam Gash.
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: Deon Lewis was thirty three. I should have gotten that.
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: One, George Adams and Patrick Egu Yeah.
- 1:46:23Speaker 3: I wouldn't have gotten many of those, Sam Gash and
- 1:46:26Speaker 3: Deon Lewis. I should have gotten.
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: From eighty one to present name five out of the
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: six players to wear the number eighty seven.
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: Eighty one to the present name five players.
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: Five out of six. So we know Grenkowski did.
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Lynn Dawson, Yes, Look who's back from.
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: The locker room?
- 1:46:53Speaker 4: What was the mood where the player's friendly to that?
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: None of them looked like Tavick Henry, Hey.
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: Mike, what was it like.
- 1:47:03Speaker 5: Paying like?
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: What was it like in the I think you should
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: come in just wearing a towel because you just came
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: from the locker room.
- 1:47:11Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: We want to track listeners, not scared them away. I
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: mean that's not going to be good for anybody.
- 1:47:16Speaker 5: Hello, everyone back for the locker room and a busy
- 1:47:19Speaker 5: day in the locker room. I would say, uh, Stefan Diggs,
- 1:47:21Speaker 5: he's been speaking every Wednesday.
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: So he has good stuff to say, seemed a little
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: locked in, seem a little serious stuff.
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: He did comment on that five to ten thing that
- 1:47:29Speaker 5: he said, which I think we talked about yesterday on
- 1:47:31Speaker 5: the show, and kind of confirm what we said.
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: He said, you know, if I said eight or nine
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: or ten, like I wouldn't be doing as much as
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: I should.
- 1:47:37Speaker 5: So he said, you know, guys know how much I'm grinding,
- 1:47:39Speaker 5: But that's more about I feel like I've just scratched
- 1:47:43Speaker 5: the surface of, you know, my potential in this offense.
- 1:47:45Speaker 5: But he did say the offense is you know, can
- 1:47:47Speaker 5: be complicated and there can be some twist to it.
- 1:47:49Speaker 5: So but he seems excited to go back to Buffalo.
- 1:47:52Speaker 5: Spoke highly of their fans and you know, Josh Allen
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: and just you know, the whole program. Didn't seem like,
- 1:47:58Speaker 5: you know, he had any you know, ill will or
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: anything towards that. Just spoke highly of the whole operation there.
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: Talked to Milton Williams as well, who decided to get
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: on Prime Time, said his comment about the offensive line
- 1:48:10Speaker 5: remind him Buffalo's offensive line reminded him of Philadelphia last year.
- 1:48:13Speaker 5: Said they're just all I think, he said, giant humans.
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: You know, and he said, then even Josh is back
- 1:48:18Speaker 5: there and he's big as well.
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: So that was his take.
- 1:48:21Speaker 5: Marcus Jones commented, excited and you know, spreading credit.
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: Around on the special teams for his return.
- 1:48:27Speaker 5: I'm just saying usually I wrote it, and the thing
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: I did today said, you know, I just want to
- 1:48:31Speaker 5: get the first down. He wants to get those first
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: ten yards and you know, try to give the offense
- 1:48:35Speaker 5: a little bit of a boost. And then the last
- 1:48:38Speaker 5: and was christians All was just getting ready to get
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: up there and then take on these receivers. Not a
- 1:48:42Speaker 5: ton to stay from him, But I thought thing I
- 1:48:44Speaker 5: would say, Jalen Hawkins didn't seem like he.
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: Was gear enough to go out to practice, so he
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: left the game with a hamstring.
- 1:48:50Speaker 5: Injury, speculating a little bit he could still throw his
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: pads on here in the last ten minutes and get
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: out there.
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: But that's going to get his Kyle Dugger game.
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so it.
- 1:48:58Speaker 5: Could be a Kyle Duggar back in the mix at
- 1:49:00Speaker 5: safety perhaps, So we'll see how that all that all
- 1:49:03Speaker 5: plays out. But yeah, really busy day, like crowded, crowded, crowded,
- 1:49:07Speaker 5: and this is becoming a thing.
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: Now on Wednesday, it's you know, a lot of interviews.
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: I think it's Papa Gino's unless they didn't unless they
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: didn't update it from last weeks.
- 1:49:16Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, shoot, I forget what his name is,
- 1:49:20Speaker 5: Nick something from w b Z, but he he was
- 1:49:23Speaker 5: just getting all these interviews going.
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: Everybody's getting in there. So it was uh, it was productive.
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: It was productive. You know here from a lot of
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: these guys in.
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: Our new segment for Wednesday, eyes on Evan, Evan talking.
- 1:49:33Speaker 5: Yeah, Evan was talking a little bit. I caught Evan
- 1:49:35Speaker 5: talking to Milton Williams a little bit. Then I saw him,
- 1:49:37Speaker 5: you know, go up and say lit some of.
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: The Marcus Jones.
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: Yeah, quietly, just a.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: Private private party, just the just the two of us.
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: I know more.
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: Uh, they're all good guys, Yeah, I know more so
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: we can talk on a level.
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: You don't have to dumb it down for me.
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: A little bit of a shout out to to Karen
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: who asked step Digs. She's like, you know, you come
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: to playing all are you comfortable playing all around the offense?
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: You know, inside outside, So she's she didn't frame it
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: as like he is the slot guy. So that was good.
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: You know, he said, that's that's what makes me me.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: I can line up everywhere.
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: And you know that is part of what makes him,
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: uh Digs because he has been able to do that
- 1:50:16Speaker 3: throughout his career. He's a versatile guy.
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: I just don't think if people realize it that, like
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: if you couldn't play on the outside, that would be
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: a very bad sign, you know, like if you can
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: only play on the inside.
- 1:50:25Speaker 5: He's like, you can't get all coverage anymore. Like you know,
- 1:50:27Speaker 5: he's he's he's slowing down.
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: That's uh.
- 1:50:29Speaker 5: I mean maybe you'll get there eventually, but no good
- 1:50:32Speaker 5: good day in the locker room though they all seem
- 1:50:34Speaker 5: to acknowledge this is a you know, big game, big
- 1:50:36Speaker 5: opportunity and excited to play on Sunday night football.
- 1:50:40Speaker 3: But I worry about with that the offense in general,
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: like how much of that is Well. They decided to
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: do some different things with Digs on Sunday because of
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: a specific matchup, a game plan, right, and we knew
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: that he could beat this Mike Jackson guy, and you know,
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: we wanted to sort of you know, matchup hunt, as
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: Evan likes to say, you know, and they hunted the
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: matchup and they won the matchup more often than not.
- 1:51:05Speaker 3: But next week or you know, some other game, it
- 1:51:08Speaker 3: might they might not feel the same way.
- 1:51:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I know, my apologies whoever wrote in and reprimanded
- 1:51:13Speaker 5: me for you know, rooing for the bills a little bit.
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: But this really stuck with you throughout the locker room,
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:51:18Speaker 5: But it's just like you when you were in there, Well,
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: you listen to the players that I'm like, they're saying
- 1:51:22Speaker 5: the same thing we say. They're all just you know,
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: and it really impressed with with what good players they
- 1:51:26Speaker 5: have on this team, and especially Josh Allen. It's you know,
- 1:51:29Speaker 5: everyone knows how good he is. I think someone of
- 1:51:31Speaker 5: the questions like you know what makes him so good?
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: And that someone's like just turn on the tape like everything.
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: I'll tell you. It used to bug me when you know,
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: when your team beats another team and you spent that
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: whole week saying how bad the other team is, how
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: overrated they are, and I would just look at and
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: what have you done? What if you accomplished that? I mean,
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: you beat Josh Allen. He's a stiff. You've told me
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: all week he was overrated. He hasn't beaten anybody all
- 1:51:59Speaker 3: year and obviously that's not happening this week. I'm just like, no,
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: but that would happen. Never earned the dynasty.
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: That would happen every week.
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: And then and then I was supposed to come in
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: on Tuesday for the next show, and No, I was
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: supposed to say how wonderful the Patriots were for shutting
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: that said stiff down, like you told me it was
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: going to happen. You were right. I don't know what
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: you're so excited about now, you know.
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: So that's why you do the Belichick way. You pump
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: up here, but I know you.
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: Pumping them up. No, but I'm analyzing what I thought.
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: I know. But you focus on the positives for the
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: opponent always, always before they know.
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: But that's coach.
- 1:52:43Speaker 4: Like the coach.
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: Fans don't have to pump up the opponent. What I'm saying,
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: if the fan really doesn't think Josh Allen's any good,
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: Evan's given him too many fans, it's not a big
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: big deal to you if they win. And I don't
- 1:52:56Speaker 3: think there are very many fans that objectively think that
- 1:52:59Speaker 3: Josh Allen's staying. I think there's still some in the
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: media that if push came to shove and they had
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: to put a hand on a bible. They would tell
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: you that I'm not gonna out anybody.
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: I think the windows closing on the bills, and I
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: would love it. I would love for the Patriots to
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: be part of closing that window, slamming that way.
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: I could totally see in like twenty twenty nine, like
- 1:53:19Speaker 3: Josh Allen's like, you know, limping out there, finally taking it,
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: finally taking one too many hits and he's done. And
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: Fred was like, well, I told you the window was closed.
- 1:53:27Speaker 5: I mean that might be the most one or not
- 1:53:28Speaker 5: the most, but one of the most impressive things to
- 1:53:30Speaker 5: me is just with the amount of contact that he takes.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: I think Brabel say contact courage today.
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: I like that that he hasn't what about route integrity.
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: Route integrity, I don't like that one as much, but yeah,
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: contact courage is good.
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: So while you were going, we were talking about the
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: Rabel press conference a little bit, and there was one
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: part that kind of I noticed. Yeah, he was talking
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: about the offensive game plan and he said that he
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: will talk with Thomas Brown and Todd Down and then
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: they'll present it to Josh.
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: Did you catch that I didn't catch that, but that
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: that would be Uh, I didn't catch that might have
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: been when I stepped out.
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I did not catch that. Uh you know,
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: I just uh, I wish.
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: Thatting in the offensive in this you know, kind of
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: offensive throne. And then they come and here's what we
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: have for this will.
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: I do remember the manner. I do remember quite specifically
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: in that NFL Network documentary on Belichick from the nine season,
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: and Brady is sitting with Belichick in Belichick's office and
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: they're going over to this, that and the other thing
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: about and he goes, Okay, I'm gonna go uh, I'm
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: gonna go check in with Billy. Oh like, So clearly
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: the game plan was being discussed with Belichick and Brady
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: and then they went and presented it.
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: So though it could be a similar thing.
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe, I don't know.
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: I mean, I just why didn't anyone else hear that?
- 1:55:06Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: We're gonna we'll check the transcript on that.
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: But Matt Morrell, they couldn't find that clip for me.
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: What's that?
- 1:55:12Speaker 12: I have the audio, Let's play it, talk with with
- 1:55:18Speaker 12: Todd and Thomas and get some preliminary thoughts and some
- 1:55:21Speaker 12: things that we may like and then be able to
- 1:55:23Speaker 12: present it to Josh as we work due to week.
- 1:55:26Speaker 6: So you know, those guys are as involved as they
- 1:55:29Speaker 6: always have been.
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: Okay, so I was I did I did hear that?
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: Interesting? That's interesting?
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: And I mean, I don't know, I think it's interesting.
- 1:55:38Speaker 5: I just wish that maybe we could be a little
- 1:55:40Speaker 5: bit more aware of the storylines and just kind of
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: you know, Bill would used to know what the storylines
- 1:55:44Speaker 5: were and purposely take steps to make sure you're cutting
- 1:55:47Speaker 5: those things off of the paths.
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: And I think it is the opposite.
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I do.
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: Oh soap opera, soap opera time. As the Patriots turn, well,
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: I don't know if it's you know, it could be.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: I'm not saying it couldn't be, but I just take
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: it just how do they do things? What's the procedure
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: on getting you know, the offensive game pin. I just
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: think it's interesting that Vrabel is part of that preliminary
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: crew that then presents it to Josh. It's not like, okay,
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: the crew presents it to Josh, Josh comes up to
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: the plan and then Vrabel okays it. It seems like
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: it's the other way around, right, you know, like now
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: ultimately maybe still Verbel has the final say, who knows.
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: But I just it's just to me interesting.
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: Did you say Thomas and Todd does that with the Okay?
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, just got down the receivers coach in the
- 1:56:35Speaker 5: past game coordinator right right? Okay, yeah, I mean it's uh,
- 1:56:39Speaker 5: maybe someone has to follow see exactly what the what
- 1:56:42Speaker 5: the methodology is again, like it's another thing behind the
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: screen that you don't really know of, you know, how
