- 0:02Speaker 1: All right, mister Jake, tell me about you your journey,
- 0:06Speaker 1: how you get to where you at and what was
- 0:10Speaker 1: the purpose as of now?
- 0:13Speaker 2: I mean, I so I run an agency that we've
- 0:18Speaker 2: done over a billion views online. We focus on now
- 0:21Speaker 2: we kind of more primarily focus on helping entrepreneurs build
- 0:24Speaker 2: their personal brand. But as a filmmaker, so my background
- 0:28Speaker 2: is a filmmaker and a photographer. I went to film school.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I never planned on having an agency or anything like that.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I felt kind of fell into it. I jokingly say,
- 0:38Speaker 2: I'm an accidental marketer, you know, but you know, you
- 0:42Speaker 2: have a degree in film and you're you're wanting to
- 0:44Speaker 2: make movies, and over time you just kind of go,
- 0:49Speaker 2: what do I What's going to pay the bills? And
- 0:51Speaker 2: so thus the kind of falling into running an agency
- 0:56Speaker 2: where that's we shoot content, that's what we do. So
- 1:01Speaker 2: I kind of bring that perspective to the marketing space,
- 1:04Speaker 2: which is a kind of a different angle than a
- 1:06Speaker 2: lot of marketers, is I you don't think with story
- 1:10Speaker 2: about how the story impact brand, how this brand impact story,
- 1:15Speaker 2: and then you know thinking with it all with conversions
- 1:18Speaker 2: and whatnot.
- 1:19Speaker 3: That makes sense because you know what I just spoke to.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Somebody this week about communication and about how important that is,
- 1:27Speaker 1: and I didn't even realize exactly what the communications do.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And yeah, they I would think pr I would think spokesperson,
- 1:39Speaker 1: but then I would think of somebody that's training.
- 1:41Speaker 3: You on how to speak.
- 1:42Speaker 1: And you know, I was telling them, I said, a
- 1:45Speaker 1: lot of celebrities don't have publicists. He said, no, they
- 1:48Speaker 1: just don't use them because it's their their personal you
- 1:52Speaker 1: know things. So I think filmmaking is very important because
- 1:56Speaker 1: I got a friend of mine he does filmmaking, and
- 1:59Speaker 1: I would always ask, Okay, if you're doing these documentaries,
- 2:03Speaker 1: I would think that you would be on this stage
- 2:06Speaker 1: now where you would be on.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Kim film festivals. And I would always.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Say, why don't you have the same sponsors that you
- 2:15Speaker 1: had last time? Because even in the health phase of it,
- 2:20Speaker 1: I would think, you know, when I think of somebody
- 2:23Speaker 1: getting products for certain things, they will be incorporated into
- 2:28Speaker 1: that documentary. Because I always wondered when it came to sponsors,
- 2:32Speaker 1: what do they expect when it comes to people that are.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Doing filmmakers and films.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Do they want them incorporated in the actual what they're
- 2:42Speaker 1: doing or commercials?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Because I always wondered about that.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I think it really depends. I mean, this is It's
- 2:50Speaker 2: been some of the hardest lessons I've had to learn
- 2:52Speaker 2: in terms of my journey, which is just the the
- 2:55Speaker 2: journey of an entrepreneur. You know, there's a there's a
- 2:58Speaker 2: great example a buddy of mine's very successful entrepreneur. When
- 3:01Speaker 2: he does seminars, what he talks about is car mechanic,
- 3:06Speaker 2: top car mechanic. At a shop, he sees the boss
- 3:09Speaker 2: and it goes, screw this guy, I can do this.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna start my own shop, decides to leave and
- 3:17Speaker 2: realizes he has to hire people, find a shop, run payroll,
- 3:23Speaker 2: run HR, run sales, run marketing, there's all these other
- 3:27Speaker 2: jobs by just being a car mechanic. And so that's
- 3:32Speaker 2: the lesson that I've had to learn as just where again,
- 3:36Speaker 2: I was a car mechanic, I was the filmmaker, I
- 3:38Speaker 2: was the photographer, I was the technician. And so you know,
- 3:42Speaker 2: it doesn't exactly answer your question, but where people are like, well,
- 3:46Speaker 2: why are you know, because if your friend might be
- 3:50Speaker 2: more of a technician than the entrepreneur thinking with sales
- 3:55Speaker 2: and marketing and like, oh, I have to get this
- 3:57Speaker 2: brand to do this and do that. But to kind
- 4:01Speaker 2: of answer your question in terms of that, it you know,
- 4:04Speaker 2: it comes down to negotiations. How good is that director
- 4:07Speaker 2: or producer at selling and what are they basically what
- 4:11Speaker 2: are they selling? Are they selling conversions or are they
- 4:15Speaker 2: selling awareness? Those are two very different things. And that's
- 4:18Speaker 2: where again like when I talk to brands and I go, great,
- 4:21Speaker 2: what are you going after? If you're going after conversions, well,
- 4:24Speaker 2: that's a slightly different strategy. If you're going over awareness,
- 4:27Speaker 2: We're going to create the content a little bit differently,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and they're just they're different strategies for different outcomes.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Because he was like, well, people don't make money off
- 4:37Speaker 1: of podcasting, I said, well, it just depends.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I said.
- 4:41Speaker 1: If you look at Oprah Winfrey, for example, even though
- 4:44Speaker 1: they were on national television, they it's the same thing
- 4:49Speaker 1: as doing talk radio. If you have a radio station
- 4:53Speaker 1: and you get you know, all of these different sponsors
- 4:58Speaker 1: and you know, you create a radio station. And that
- 5:02Speaker 1: was something that was one of the things I wanted
- 5:03Speaker 1: to do was to do a podcast radio station where
- 5:09Speaker 1: I did healing and recovery, the same as you do the.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Radio radio stations where they play.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Music, they had the interviews with the celebrities, but the
- 5:16Speaker 1: only differences it would be more so you know people
- 5:20Speaker 1: coming in that are celebrities that are going through the
- 5:23Speaker 1: healing recovery, because I said, we don't never talk to
- 5:28Speaker 1: celebrities from their healing perspective. Like you know, I always
- 5:35Speaker 1: say there's a sect, there's a healing recovery when it
- 5:39Speaker 1: comes to success, and people like, what do you mean?
- 5:41Speaker 1: I said, there are people that have failed, they lost
- 5:44Speaker 1: everything and then they made this comeback. And I had
- 5:48Speaker 1: one person that said they did it three times.
- 5:52Speaker 3: And it's like, people don't understand.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You know, there is a healing and recovery when it
- 5:58Speaker 1: comes to success as well, because how do you maintain it?
- 6:02Speaker 1: How do you not get involved in all of the
- 6:04Speaker 1: drugs and alcohol and the women and all the people
- 6:07Speaker 1: that were never there when you didn't make it? How
- 6:10Speaker 1: do you maintain your marriage with a person that was
- 6:13Speaker 1: there since day one? I mean, these are things that
- 6:16Speaker 1: are not we're not being discussed. This part of the
- 6:18Speaker 1: reason I created this podcast you minding your Own Business
- 6:22Speaker 1: for that purpose because I was like, you need to
- 6:25Speaker 1: mind your own business and realize that you are a brand.
- 6:28Speaker 1: It's like the people that I would have working for
- 6:30Speaker 1: me eventually.
- 6:32Speaker 3: It's not about them staying with me forever.
- 6:34Speaker 1: It's about watching them grow and then growing something where
- 6:38Speaker 1: eventually I can build a retreat where I can have
- 6:41Speaker 1: people come and do healing and recovery. And so my
- 6:44Speaker 1: friend was like, well, show me you know your numbers.
- 6:48Speaker 3: I said, no, what you're looking at is wrong.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You gonna have one hundred and twenty six million followers,
- 6:54Speaker 1: But how many people are actually buying your actual product?
- 6:59Speaker 1: I said, you don't have a website where people can
- 7:04Speaker 1: pay to see it. You're doing it for free. I said,
- 7:07Speaker 1: So what makes what you're doing any different than what
- 7:09Speaker 1: I'm doing?
- 7:10Speaker 3: I said, yeah, I'm on.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Social media and I do a podcast, and I do
- 7:13Speaker 1: it for free. I said, but I'm also creating courses.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I'm also creating cubs, T shirts, you know, hair care products,
- 7:21Speaker 1: skincare product, anything that you know is concerning with healing
- 7:25Speaker 1: your recovery. And I said, filmmaking is very important because,
- 7:29Speaker 1: like I said, people like myself, I don't know how
- 7:31Speaker 1: to edit. I don't so guess what I would need
- 7:34Speaker 1: somebody to edit? I said, do I want to do
- 7:35Speaker 1: something like open win from where I sit down and
- 7:37Speaker 1: start interviewing people. Yes, I do want to do that.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I don't want to I want to do that one day,
- 7:41Speaker 1: but I want to do something when it comes to
- 7:43Speaker 1: healing your recovery. And I said, every journey, you know,
- 7:47Speaker 1: you're gonna have your your ups and downs. But you know,
- 7:50Speaker 1: I want when I make it, I want to be
- 7:52Speaker 1: able to maintain it. I want something that surpasses me,
- 7:56Speaker 1: if that makes sense.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Beautiful.
- 8:00Speaker 3: So that's kind of where I'm at right now.
- 8:02Speaker 1: So having people like yourself have been very helpful because
- 8:05Speaker 1: it shows me about that different side. So when it
- 8:08Speaker 1: comes to the film side of you know, content creating
- 8:13Speaker 1: and even movies documentaries, why is that, you know important
- 8:19Speaker 1: when it comes to the purpose of building something as
- 8:25Speaker 1: far as the visual side of it.
- 8:28Speaker 2: And don't fully understand your question.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Okay, all right, I'm starting out right.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And there are a lot of people doing content creating
- 8:35Speaker 1: right And some people are doing it because they just
- 8:38Speaker 1: want to do it. Other people are trying to get
- 8:41Speaker 1: into the industry some type of way. And so I
- 8:45Speaker 1: say on my podcast, I see people that get a
- 8:48Speaker 1: lot of views, but they're like, they still have their
- 8:50Speaker 1: regular nine to five job.
- 8:52Speaker 3: If that makes sense. So the question I'm asking you is,
- 8:56Speaker 3: as someone that.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Is trying to make it in to not so much
- 9:01Speaker 1: the industry, but building something on my own, what would
- 9:04Speaker 1: you recommend far as that filming side, as far as
- 9:07Speaker 1: that marketing side that you think.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I might need.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I mean, I think the biggest thing is understanding one
- 9:15Speaker 2: of two things is where you want to end up,
- 9:18Speaker 2: Like what is the bigger goal? You know, like what
- 9:21Speaker 2: is the what is the vision? And then additionally it's
- 9:28Speaker 2: just the full if you want it to be a business,
- 9:31Speaker 2: Like there's there's just different mentalities. And again that's why
- 9:34Speaker 2: I say start with the goal. Figure out that. And
- 9:37Speaker 2: then if part of the goal is that if you're
- 9:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna go the other way, part of the goal
- 9:42Speaker 2: is just to have fun and like I just do
- 9:45Speaker 2: this because I love it. I don't care what it becomes,
- 9:49Speaker 2: you know my soul, I'm driven to do this great.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Then don't worry about what I'm going to say. However,
- 9:57Speaker 2: if you're like, I want this to be a business.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I'm working doing blaw in three years, five years, ten years,
- 10:04Speaker 2: I want to I want this to be making this
- 10:07Speaker 2: amount of money, Well now it's a job. Now it's
- 10:10Speaker 2: a business. It's a very different mindset, very different mentality,
- 10:14Speaker 2: Like you have to be strategic and you have to
- 10:18Speaker 2: show up like the job. And yes, it doesn't pay
- 10:21Speaker 2: the bills right now, but if you want it to
- 10:26Speaker 2: pay the bills, you have to treat it like something
- 10:28Speaker 2: that pays the bills. And that's the thing. Like when
- 10:30Speaker 2: I coach artists, that's the biggest thing I tell them.
- 10:33Speaker 2: It's like, look, okay, great, your photography isn't paying the bills.
- 10:37Speaker 2: But you have to first gain the skills and you
- 10:41Speaker 2: have to be good enough for someone to pay you.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Then you know, like do enough free work. Then you
- 10:49Speaker 2: start getting good and then you go, great, how can
- 10:51Speaker 2: I start monetizing this? And you just build up that
- 10:56Speaker 2: quality over time. But you have to have the idea
- 11:00Speaker 2: that you have to just know, Okay, great, we're gonna
- 11:03Speaker 2: start here. We're gonna grind for a year, two years,
- 11:05Speaker 2: three years, five years, whatever it might be for nothing,
- 11:10Speaker 2: but what do we need to build so that we
- 11:14Speaker 2: can monetize it? Like you have to understand how like
- 11:18Speaker 2: if you want it to grow and it or you
- 11:22Speaker 2: have to partner with somebody who knows that. Mike, you
- 11:25Speaker 2: don't have to be the technique like you do. You
- 11:28Speaker 2: can be the technician, the face of the brand, the
- 11:31Speaker 2: the you know, the person who does certain jobs. But again,
- 11:36Speaker 2: like we us in that car mechanic example, you have
- 11:41Speaker 2: the car mechanic and then you have HR. You also
- 11:45Speaker 2: have sales, You also have you know, marketing, you have payroll,
- 11:50Speaker 2: like you have all of these functions of a business
- 11:54Speaker 2: and you either have to wear them all or as
- 11:57Speaker 2: the CEO, owner, founder, et cetera, you have to get
- 12:01Speaker 2: people to wear.
- 12:02Speaker 3: That, okay, And that makes sense.
- 12:05Speaker 2: And that's where it's like, it just depends on the goals.
- 12:08Speaker 2: How you want to grow it, how you want to
- 12:09Speaker 2: build that, how fast you want to grow at how
- 12:10Speaker 2: fast like it all comes down to what level of
- 12:13Speaker 2: responsibility you want to take.
- 12:17Speaker 1: That makes sense because what I'm trying to do is
- 12:20Speaker 1: I did this podcast. Like I said, I had the
- 12:23Speaker 1: rug pull from up under me when I lost my
- 12:25Speaker 1: job in August, had had a rug pulled under me
- 12:29Speaker 1: in January. I lost my dad just last month. So
- 12:33Speaker 1: it's been like a lot of the rug being pulled
- 12:35Speaker 1: from up under me. And I'm listening to all these
- 12:38Speaker 1: people on TikTok talking about where they can't find a job,
- 12:40Speaker 1: They've been at a job for about a year, two years.
- 12:44Speaker 1: And I would say, I would like, well, this is
- 12:49Speaker 1: something that hasn't been tapped in as far as success
- 12:54Speaker 1: healing and recovery, because I think that we need to
- 12:58Speaker 1: have that type of you know, conversation. And so when
- 13:02Speaker 1: I did these podcasts and my mom was like, what
- 13:05Speaker 1: do you mean successful healing can recovery, I said, there
- 13:09Speaker 1: are a lot of people that cannot maintain what they have.
- 13:13Speaker 1: They cannot whether it's their children, whether it's marriage, whether
- 13:18Speaker 1: it's it's it's financial, all those things.
- 13:22Speaker 3: You know, go together.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And I said, one of the things I want to
- 13:26Speaker 1: do was like motivational speaking. I want to do something
- 13:31Speaker 1: where I'm helping people with like candles, And I said,
- 13:36Speaker 1: I have to incorporate some type of product with this,
- 13:39Speaker 1: because when I was watching one coach, she was like,
- 13:41Speaker 1: you need to have something that eventually you're going to
- 13:44Speaker 1: have to sell. I said, it doesn't matter if you
- 13:47Speaker 1: do social media. You need to have T shirts, you
- 13:48Speaker 1: need to get candles, you need to have all of
- 13:51Speaker 1: these different things. And I was like, well, I'm getting
- 13:54Speaker 1: to that place now, but I it, you know, I
- 13:59Speaker 1: said in my to my friend, I said, well, I
- 14:01Speaker 1: think building an audience is something that's important because if
- 14:04Speaker 1: you don't have an audience, I don't care what products
- 14:06Speaker 1: that you have. I said, that is the whole point.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And I said, people like to see people's journeys. People
- 14:13Speaker 1: like to see how you go about it, all the
- 14:16Speaker 1: steps that you take.
- 14:18Speaker 3: You know, I don't care what it is. Now.
- 14:20Speaker 1: People want to see how stuff is made. They want
- 14:22Speaker 1: to see how you went about doing it, you know.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Now they want to be able to be a part
- 14:27Speaker 1: of that, which I think is important. Having people go
- 14:30Speaker 1: through those journeys with you. I just think that's important. So,
- 14:37Speaker 1: like I said, so as far as what you do,
- 14:40Speaker 1: how do you go about helping your clients when it
- 14:43Speaker 1: comes to the filmmaking and that side of it?
- 14:46Speaker 2: I mean, well, we are a full service agency, okay,
- 14:50Speaker 2: from ideation and strategy. We you know, have full cameras,
- 14:55Speaker 2: teams to come out and shoot, to full editing, postproduct,
- 15:00Speaker 2: and then even we assist in the distribution on social media.
- 15:06Speaker 3: And how much does that does that range?
- 15:09Speaker 2: Just an estimate, I mean anywhere from like fifteen hundred
- 15:13Speaker 2: dollars a month to twenty thousand plus a month it
- 15:18Speaker 2: depends on who it is, yeah, and the services that
- 15:21Speaker 2: they would like.
- 15:23Speaker 1: That makes sense because, like I said, seeing all these
- 15:25Speaker 1: different these different functions are very helpful to a lot
- 15:28Speaker 1: of people because they're I mean, people just think marketing
- 15:33Speaker 1: is just, you know, you put stuff together and then
- 15:38Speaker 1: you know, telling this person what they need to do.
- 15:41Speaker 1: But there's so many different parts of it that I
- 15:45Speaker 1: never knew and God took marketing in school, but it's
- 15:48Speaker 1: very different than what it used to be. And I mean,
- 15:52Speaker 1: I think that that's important. So as far as like
- 15:56Speaker 1: doing longer ending content versus shorter content, is there because
- 16:03Speaker 1: I noticed that when I look at views, people will
- 16:05Speaker 1: click on your channel and you may have one hundred
- 16:08Speaker 1: and twenty thousand, but then when you look at the
- 16:10Speaker 1: amount of time they watched a video, it may be
- 16:13Speaker 1: one point five seconds.
- 16:16Speaker 3: How do they How do you.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Determine what the algorithm is going to accept when it
- 16:21Speaker 1: comes to the views versus the followers and fans, If
- 16:26Speaker 1: that makes sense.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I mean basically I always replace algorithm with audience. It's
- 16:34Speaker 2: just you make better content. So it's understanding a good hook,
- 16:38Speaker 2: it's understanding good storytelling, understanding the different elements that go
- 16:42Speaker 2: into making a good video.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Okay, So it would just depend on that.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there's there's a variety of different factors.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Okay, because the reason I'm asking was because I was
- 16:56Speaker 1: wondering about that, because I make longer ending content, and
- 17:01Speaker 1: you know, it's like I have people that'll that will
- 17:04Speaker 1: come on there and they'll say, well, they didn't listen
- 17:07Speaker 1: to the whole entire context of it. And I tell people,
- 17:11Speaker 1: you can't really comment on something and you don't listen
- 17:15Speaker 1: to the whole entire thing, because then that person is
- 17:18Speaker 1: pretty much repeating what they just said. And some people like,
- 17:23Speaker 1: what I try to do is I'll do two parts.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I'll do the part where I said what I said
- 17:27Speaker 1: and then the part where I respond to it. And
- 17:30Speaker 1: I'm learning the difference now between you know, people that
- 17:34Speaker 1: are genuine and then people that you know are just
- 17:37Speaker 1: Internet trolls or things like that, because I think even
- 17:41Speaker 1: like I'll give you an example, we have Spider Man,
- 17:45Speaker 1: you have Doom coming out on the same day, and
- 17:49Speaker 1: I saw.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Both of the trailers. They were very beautifully done. And
- 17:54Speaker 3: you know, I love Marvel.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I was a comic head since I was a kid.
- 17:58Speaker 1: But what I had an issue with is a lot
- 18:01Speaker 1: of the comics. The directors did not know anything about
- 18:04Speaker 1: the comics. They directed it in a way, and I'm like,
- 18:08Speaker 1: why did you do that? I'm like, why didn't you,
- 18:12Speaker 1: you know, do the actual movie based upon the actual comic,
- 18:18Speaker 1: which is something I believe thoroughly in because if you
- 18:21Speaker 1: have a bunch of comic hands, they gonna they gonna
- 18:23Speaker 1: go thinking that it's gonna be exactly verbatim.
- 18:27Speaker 3: And then I see a lot of you know, people.
- 18:28Speaker 1: That that talk about comics, and you have people that
- 18:31Speaker 1: really look at comics, and then people that don't look
- 18:34Speaker 1: at comics, and I'm just like, I'm just like, well,
- 18:39Speaker 1: you know, that's why I try to if I always
- 18:41Speaker 1: do something on a book or something based on a
- 18:43Speaker 1: movie or something that I feel that it needs to
- 18:46Speaker 1: be done based on that, But I know it's kind
- 18:48Speaker 1: of hard to do because books are kind of longer.
- 18:51Speaker 1: So when it comes to that, it's someone that does
- 18:55Speaker 1: what you do.
- 18:56Speaker 3: How would you go about.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Telling someone that's a new feel filmmaker or someone is
- 19:02Speaker 1: coming in so that as far as how they will
- 19:05Speaker 1: go about it if they wanted to do something like that.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I mean, at the end of the day, it's their
- 19:11Speaker 2: own adaptation of it, so you can I mean, it's
- 19:16Speaker 2: I mean, they're the artists. They get to make the
- 19:18Speaker 2: art that they want to make. You know, yes, their
- 19:20Speaker 2: studio is involved, and so if you want to make
- 19:23Speaker 2: a more I mean a great example is the movie
- 19:28Speaker 2: coming out Warhammer four thousand, right with Henry Cavill. He
- 19:33Speaker 2: is very strict. He's one of the producers of it,
- 19:36Speaker 2: and he's like, if the writers haven't read every single
- 19:39Speaker 2: book and stick to the actual lore of that, it
- 19:43Speaker 2: will not be made. You will be fired. Now that's
- 19:47Speaker 2: his choice as the producer, right, He's like, this is
- 19:51Speaker 2: how it's being made. But you can also go look
- 19:54Speaker 2: at Whether in Heights, the new movie that came out,
- 19:58Speaker 2: though I think it was more Robbie or whoever it was.
- 20:03Speaker 2: It's Shakespeare and I never watched it, but like I
- 20:06Speaker 2: suppose it's a very different adaptation on the Shakespeare book.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Like it. You know, it's you're the artist. You get
- 20:14Speaker 2: to do whatever you want to do, and people will
- 20:16Speaker 2: like it, people will not like it. Your job is
- 20:18Speaker 2: just to make something that you think that you're creatively
- 20:22Speaker 2: inclined to and that others might enjoy. It's just art
- 20:27Speaker 2: and so you can have a lot of opinions, but okay,
- 20:32Speaker 2: and you just know your audience. Are you making this
- 20:34Speaker 2: as a true adaptation? Are you taking your own spin
- 20:37Speaker 2: on it? I mean you look at the animated Spider
- 20:41Speaker 2: Man films, very different but massive audience. People loved them.
- 20:48Speaker 2: You know, you look at I mean there's yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Because our reason I'm asking is because right now the
- 20:54Speaker 1: movie industry is losing a lot of money, like a
- 20:59Speaker 1: lot of money. It's like this debate between sticking to
- 21:03Speaker 1: the remakes and then sticking to the something new. Light
- 21:08Speaker 1: Centers for example, Centers was something that was made that
- 21:12Speaker 1: was very different, and for me, I like to, you know,
- 21:18Speaker 1: watch things that are more so new done me wrong.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I love remakes, but how many screams can you make?
- 21:25Speaker 3: How many? You know, Michael Myers, can you make? Until
- 21:30Speaker 3: you know?
- 21:31Speaker 1: And and I said, I think we're getting more like
- 21:34Speaker 1: into the AI and all of that stuff. So how
- 21:36Speaker 1: does the AI and all of that now is now
- 21:40Speaker 1: incorporated with film now?
- 21:43Speaker 2: I think everybody has their own view on it. I
- 21:47Speaker 2: have my viewpoints on it, but I you know, I
- 21:51Speaker 2: think everybody has their own own views. Some people are
- 21:55Speaker 2: like AI. Everything in my opinion. As an artists, I
- 22:01Speaker 2: want to make the art. It's you know, part of
- 22:06Speaker 2: the struggle is figuring it out. How I need to practice.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I need to get good. Like that's what separates us
- 22:14Speaker 2: versus others, you know. And at the end of the day,
- 22:17Speaker 2: I think AI is a great tool. But it's a tool.
- 22:20Speaker 2: It learns based on what we make. It can't actually
- 22:25Speaker 2: create anything original. The originality is from somebody's idea, Hey,
- 22:33Speaker 2: what if we did this, this, and this and like.
- 22:34Speaker 2: But that's somebody coming up with a prompt of something new. Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 2: Otherwise they're gonna be like, can you make it sound
- 22:43Speaker 2: like this? Can you make it look like this? Realize
- 22:46Speaker 2: that look like this? Somebody had to create. Somebody had
- 22:52Speaker 2: to do that. So all it can do is regurgitate.
- 22:57Speaker 2: And sometimes that's great, you know. Like I I use
- 23:00Speaker 2: it as a tool constantly in my business. But it's
- 23:05Speaker 2: a tool the same way the Internet is a tool,
- 23:07Speaker 2: the same way a car is a tool. Those both
- 23:10Speaker 2: took over massive industries. Horse and Buggy became cars, the
- 23:16Speaker 2: Internet took over a million businesses. And it's just but
- 23:21Speaker 2: it's just a tool.
- 23:24Speaker 3: That makes sense. That's why I said, you know, talking
- 23:26Speaker 3: to people like you.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I learned so much because you know, when you're becoming
- 23:32Speaker 1: a brand yourself and you're now the face of it all.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Because it used to be like McDonald's and all of that,
- 23:40Speaker 1: you don't see who the person.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Is that owns Walmart.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Social media is so different because now you are the
- 23:48Speaker 1: face of your channel, You are the face of your
- 23:53Speaker 1: brand and things of that nature. And so I think
- 23:57Speaker 1: the film part of it, as far as the marketing,
- 23:59Speaker 1: I think is important because knowing what type of cameras
- 24:02Speaker 1: do you use? You know, when you're when you're doing
- 24:05Speaker 1: like traveling content, when you're doing like podcasting, when you're
- 24:10Speaker 1: sitting down, you know, what type of cameras do you use,
- 24:14Speaker 1: What drones do you.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Use, what good editing things to use, a lot of
- 24:20Speaker 4: people don't know, and they're so confused because they're doing
- 24:24Speaker 4: this because, like I said.
- 24:26Speaker 1: When COVID hit, that's when everything happened. And now there's
- 24:30Speaker 1: so many social media content creators, whereas that before it
- 24:36Speaker 1: wasn't as many because people were just working regard nine
- 24:38Speaker 1: to five jobs and they had income at that time.
- 24:43Speaker 1: So it's kind of like very difficult. So, like I said,
- 24:47Speaker 1: for me to know what cameras to use, and how
- 24:51Speaker 1: to go about editing. I think those things are important.
- 24:54Speaker 1: So somebody like yourself would be great for that because
- 24:57Speaker 1: then when I'm trying to learn these things, even though
- 25:00Speaker 1: you guys are doing it, I'm also learning myself and
- 25:04Speaker 1: being able to do this myself. So when I do
- 25:07Speaker 1: do this radio podcast, having somebody to come in and
- 25:11Speaker 1: film it the same way the Breakfast Club does Seth
- 25:14Speaker 1: Rogan and Howard Stern, there's somebody there that's professionally recording
- 25:20Speaker 1: why they're doing this and.
- 25:23Speaker 3: They're they're now posting it.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Being able to have a place like a studio you
- 25:27Speaker 1: can sit down and make it, set it up really nice,
- 25:30Speaker 1: and sit it down.
- 25:31Speaker 3: So that's kind of where my next steps are.
- 25:35Speaker 1: So that's why I say having someone like yourself is
- 25:40Speaker 1: really would be helpful.
- 25:42Speaker 2: That's what does Yeah, So.
- 25:44Speaker 1: That's that's why I said, you know, I want to
- 25:46Speaker 1: have this conversation because a lot of people are transitioning
- 25:50Speaker 1: into that when they want to do that s that
- 25:52Speaker 1: sit down like Sherry Shepherd and and do the new
- 25:56Speaker 1: version like on iTunes, and being able to have their
- 25:59Speaker 1: stuff syndicated. So going from just being a content creator
- 26:03Speaker 1: to now being syndicated where they're getting paid on a
- 26:07Speaker 1: you know, bigger scale. It's kind of like bringing that
- 26:11Speaker 1: back as far as stuff like the view and stuff,
- 26:13Speaker 1: but just doing it in a radio podcast.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Form, if that makes sense.
- 26:18Speaker 1: So it's not just on television, but it's also on
- 26:21Speaker 1: radio on national syndicated things.
- 26:25Speaker 3: So that's what I'm trying to do.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Nice, So I want to just have this conversation with
- 26:31Speaker 1: you because it would be helpful because you know, a
- 26:34Speaker 1: lot of people are really trying to not work and
- 26:38Speaker 1: recognize a five job. Even though I know and I
- 26:41Speaker 1: tell people all the time, when you start a business,
- 26:44Speaker 1: you're still gonna have to have some type of income
- 26:47Speaker 1: or someone that you're married to that and you're gonna
- 26:50Speaker 1: have to put a lot of money into it. But
- 26:52Speaker 1: before you start, you might want to test the waters first,
- 26:56Speaker 1: make sure that you're learning these things in the developing
- 27:00Speaker 1: something still building an audience at the same time, and
- 27:03Speaker 1: then when you're ready to take it to that professional level,
- 27:07Speaker 1: then you can say, Okay, now I have the products,
- 27:10Speaker 1: Now I have the services, Now I have the right cameras,
- 27:13Speaker 1: Now I have these things in place. And then as
- 27:16Speaker 1: you developed them, like I said, then having people like
- 27:19Speaker 1: yourself to come in and film was definitely helpful too,
- 27:23Speaker 1: because you're showing us how to go about the filming
- 27:27Speaker 1: process of making our stuff look better and improving certain things.
- 27:32Speaker 1: And then communications, having somebody in communications that can help
- 27:35Speaker 1: us as far as the communicating part and what we
- 27:38Speaker 1: can say we not say, how do we deal with
- 27:41Speaker 1: certain audiences and not arguing and staying focused. So I
- 27:46Speaker 1: think those different types of marketing is very important. It is,
- 27:52Speaker 1: it is, But I'm glad I had this conversation because
- 27:56Speaker 1: I learned a lot of this short period of time.
- 27:59Speaker 1: So I'm looking forward to having this conversation. So if
- 28:03Speaker 1: there's any questions that your assistant wants to seem to
- 28:06Speaker 1: send me that you know. But I think it is important,
- 28:10Speaker 1: especially for up and coming people and also people that
- 28:13Speaker 1: have been doing this for a long period of time
- 28:16Speaker 1: and really learning and preparing for what this new world
- 28:19Speaker 1: is going to be, because pretty soon it is going
- 28:21Speaker 1: to be television maybe going out the door, and now
- 28:25Speaker 1: it's the apps at this point, Netflix got podcast now,
- 28:29Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah.
- 28:31Speaker 2: How many episodes have you done, by the way.
- 28:34Speaker 3: I've done all together, I don't even know. It's like
- 28:39Speaker 3: forty so far. As far as episodes, but I have
- 28:43Speaker 3: been sick.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I was sick often on and I'm just now getting better.
- 28:48Speaker 1: So I've been trying to keep it going. So now I'm.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Getting into the marketing side.
- 28:54Speaker 1: The success part of healing and recovery and people was,
- 28:58Speaker 1: like I never thought about it way. I said, try
- 29:01Speaker 1: constantly going to work every day, constantly losing your job,
- 29:05Speaker 1: not because you did something wrong, but because they let
- 29:09Speaker 1: you go.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Then you go months and months and months without working.
- 29:11Speaker 1: And I said, told my mom, said, I'm tired of
- 29:14Speaker 1: the rugby and pulled from up under me. And then
- 29:16Speaker 1: I'm seeing people traveling and I'm like, I.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Just want to do that.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I just want to be able to get up what
- 29:21Speaker 1: I'm want to go, what I'm on to, and still
- 29:23Speaker 1: be able to do what I love while I'm while
- 29:27Speaker 1: I'm traveling, still being able to coach people while I'm traveling,
- 29:30Speaker 1: still being able to do my podcast, still doing motivational
- 29:32Speaker 1: speaking and traveling. I just want to travel and then
- 29:36Speaker 1: starting a traveling business. So, like I said, that's where
- 29:39Speaker 1: that film part of it would definitely.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Be needed, definitely nice.
- 29:45Speaker 1: But it was really a pleasure meeting you, and I
- 29:49Speaker 1: look forward to doing this podcast with you, because I
- 29:53Speaker 1: learned a lot.
- 29:53Speaker 3: In a short period of time.
- 29:55Speaker 1: But I'll send you a link and then you can
- 29:57Speaker 1: let me know what schedule works for you, and then.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I look forward to doing it with you. Sounds good,
- 30:02Speaker 3: Thank you, nice meeting you.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Likewise, bye bye bye
