- 0:08Speaker 1: Scalable advice for sure, spice, It's time nice he lover. Hello,
- 0:16Speaker 1: welcome to the Naughty but Nic Show. I'm your house
- 0:18Speaker 1: tramp shooter. It is Wednesday here in Britain. If you're
- 0:22Speaker 1: in America, you're still fast asleep. Good for you. That
- 0:25Speaker 1: five hour time difference, it really does make a different.
- 0:29Speaker 1: So I'm a bright and early in my mom's house.
- 0:32Speaker 1: It's a ninetieth ninety zero birthday. Today we have a party.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Christine and I are taking her to see Legally Blonde,
- 0:39Speaker 1: one of her favorite movies is now a musical and
- 0:43Speaker 1: it's touring Britain and so we're off to see that today.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I'm sure there'll be lots of cake and lots of laugh.
- 0:48Speaker 1: So thank you all for reaching out to I've seen
- 0:51Speaker 1: all your dms, all your messages, all your emails. They're
- 0:54Speaker 1: just delightful. I've read every single one to my mom
- 0:57Speaker 1: and she doesn't quite understand what I do for living,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and she doesn't quite understand who the naughties are, but
- 1:04Speaker 1: nevertheless she knows it's a nice thing. So thank you
- 1:07Speaker 1: for making my mommy's birthday special special special. Let's jump
- 1:11Speaker 1: into an as show. We've got a ton of news
- 1:14Speaker 1: to get to what time is it? My friends? It
- 1:17Speaker 1: is tea time. Big story at the top of the show.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Big developments in the Savannah Guthries mother's missing case. So
- 1:28Speaker 1: a person of interest has been detained and now released.
- 1:33Speaker 1: In a dramatic twist in the ongoing search for Savannah
- 1:38Speaker 1: Guthrie's missing mom, a man was briefly that's the keyword,
- 1:42Speaker 1: briefly detained Tuesday night in connection in connection with the investigation.
- 1:49Speaker 1: He has now been released. The interval individual identified as Carlos,
- 1:55Speaker 1: told reporters he spoke after he was released. Told reporters
- 1:59Speaker 1: that he was pulled over after noticing police following his car.
- 2:04Speaker 1: He says he was questioned for hours before being let go.
- 2:08Speaker 1: He said the following quote, I might have delivered a
- 2:12Speaker 1: package to her house, but I never kidnapped anybody. Law
- 2:18Speaker 1: enforcements have not named any suspects and the investigation is
- 2:23Speaker 1: still very active. In cases like this, tensions are running high,
- 2:28Speaker 1: but facts man of the most. So let's be clear here.
- 2:31Speaker 1: We want this solved, the whole nation, the whole world.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It's even making news here in Britain. We want to
- 2:40Speaker 1: find Nancy, we want justice here, but we also to
- 2:44Speaker 1: have to follow the facts. So it seems as if
- 2:47Speaker 1: Carlos did deliver a package to her house, so that
- 2:53Speaker 1: stuff is documented. They might have video of this, they
- 2:56Speaker 1: might have GPS of this. But because he delivered a package,
- 3:00Speaker 1: he was seen at the house where she went missing from,
- 3:03Speaker 1: it's all very suspicious. The police are doing a brilliant
- 3:07Speaker 1: job here investigating this. He was brought in, he was
- 3:10Speaker 1: questioned and then released, which means they did not have
- 3:13Speaker 1: enough to charge him to hold him. And we, even
- 3:17Speaker 1: though we are frustrated, we should have a sigh of
- 3:20Speaker 1: relief here because we do not want innocent people arrested.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I do not know if Carlos is innocent or guilty,
- 3:27Speaker 1: but I do know that the police do not have
- 3:29Speaker 1: enough evidence, and thus you've got to follow the evidence.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You can't follow your heart's desire. Of course, we want
- 3:37Speaker 1: to blame somebody, We want to catch somebody. We want justice.
- 3:40Speaker 1: But justice isn't justice unless you get the right person.
- 3:45Speaker 1: And at the moment, it seems as if Carlos is
- 3:48Speaker 1: not that person, or else they wouldn't have released him,
- 3:51Speaker 1: or maybe they just didn't have enough facts here. We
- 3:54Speaker 1: knew something was going on because a family member revealed
- 3:58Speaker 1: that her home was being searched by the authorities, and
- 4:02Speaker 1: she said her son in law was the man detained
- 4:04Speaker 1: earlier in the day, So this is very interesting. The
- 4:07Speaker 1: police went to his home, he shared it with his
- 4:12Speaker 1: mother in law. He insists he had nothing to do
- 4:15Speaker 1: with the kidnapping, but they did search the home. They
- 4:20Speaker 1: were in there, they were taking photographs, they were asking questions.
- 4:23Speaker 1: She claims that she's even showed her surveillance footage outside
- 4:28Speaker 1: her home to the authorities. And this is really really
- 4:32Speaker 1: important because we do now have a video. The police release,
- 4:38Speaker 1: the FBI released a chilling image in the case. It
- 4:44Speaker 1: appears like this could be a turning point. The FBI
- 4:47Speaker 1: has released the first surveillance images tied to the disappearance
- 4:52Speaker 1: of Nancy, and the horrifying We see a masked, armed figure.
- 4:58Speaker 1: He's seen tampering with the front door camera, the camera
- 5:02Speaker 1: on the front door in the early hours of the
- 5:05Speaker 1: morning when Nancy vanished for the first time. This isn't
- 5:10Speaker 1: theory or speculation. It's a person its presence. It's proof.
- 5:14Speaker 1: This was not a misunderstanding. So after days of stalled
- 5:18Speaker 1: leads and unanswered questions, law enforcement is finally narrowing their focus.
- 5:26Speaker 1: They released this to the public asking for help, and
- 5:30Speaker 1: then within hours somebody was detained, and then then they
- 5:35Speaker 1: were released. A lot of people are asking me, why
- 5:38Speaker 1: did it take ten days? Why did it take so
- 5:41Speaker 1: long to release this image? And I'm told it took
- 5:44Speaker 1: so long because not because the investigators were idle, but
- 5:49Speaker 1: because the camera was missing and Nancy reportedly didn't subscribe
- 5:54Speaker 1: to Google Cloud backup plan, So no sub subscription. If
- 5:57Speaker 1: you don't have a subscription, no automatic extored stewed footage.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You know this. If you break your iPhone and you're
- 6:04Speaker 1: taken in, you have to get a new one. If
- 6:05Speaker 1: you're not backed up to the clouds, you're going to
- 6:07Speaker 1: lose all that. Now, because of the high profile the
- 6:11Speaker 1: interest in this case, the FBI could dig deep and
- 6:15Speaker 1: their agents recovered, thankfully quote residual data from their backed
- 6:22Speaker 1: up system. So it was not as easy as just
- 6:24Speaker 1: going and finding the camera and having a look at
- 6:27Speaker 1: the cloud and seeing the footage. They had to dig deep.
- 6:30Speaker 1: They had to get technology experts, IT experts involved, and
- 6:35Speaker 1: they were hoping that maybe there was some residual data.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Thankfully there was not a lot, but enough now that
- 6:42Speaker 1: we have the image of somebody on Nancy's doorstep, fiddling, messing,
- 6:47Speaker 1: disabling her camera while wearing a ski mask. That's the guy.
- 6:53Speaker 1: That's the guy. They thought they might have him. They
- 6:56Speaker 1: detained somebody, but now they have released them. This is
- 7:00Speaker 1: such a big deal, not just for America, for the world.
- 7:03Speaker 1: In fact, it was such a big deal that NBC
- 7:05Speaker 1: broke into the Olympics. They have spent hundreds of millions
- 7:09Speaker 1: of dollars to buy the Olympics. They have the exclusive
- 7:11Speaker 1: rights to the Olympics. It's a big deal to NBC.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They interrupted its primetime coverage of the Olympics, Yes, the Olympics,
- 7:20Speaker 1: for a special report on Nancy Gruthrie's investigation. The network
- 7:25Speaker 1: confirmed that a person of interest had been detained for questioning,
- 7:29Speaker 1: just hours after the FBI released that chilling video of
- 7:33Speaker 1: an armed, masked suspect on her front door. They have
- 7:37Speaker 1: invested my sources tell me ten billion. Did you hear
- 7:42Speaker 1: that NBC has invested ten billion in the Olympics exclusive
- 7:48Speaker 1: rights through twenty thirty six, So that's not just one year,
- 7:52Speaker 1: for the next ten years. NBC has the Olympics cost
- 7:56Speaker 1: them a lot of money, so they do not break
- 7:58Speaker 1: in for stuff is not very very important. They don't
- 8:02Speaker 1: want to break in. This was important. I think we
- 8:05Speaker 1: can all agree there they did the right thing. Still waiting,
- 8:09Speaker 1: still more to learn, but there is a glimmer of hope. Today.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Somebody has been questioned and now, finally, thanks to how
- 8:17Speaker 1: hard the technology, the it, the police, the FBI are working,
- 8:21Speaker 1: we now have an image. We have somebody on Nancy's door,
- 8:24Speaker 1: tampering with her, tampering with her camera on her doorbell,
- 8:28Speaker 1: and also wearing a ski mask at two am in
- 8:31Speaker 1: the morning. I'm mean, we got we got an image.
- 8:35Speaker 1: We don't have him yet, but we have got an image. Okay,
- 8:39Speaker 1: no poll today, it's just too sad. We don't do
- 8:41Speaker 1: polls when these stories are this sad. And so we'll
- 8:45Speaker 1: move right along, hopefully something a little bit more uplifting.
- 8:51Speaker 1: What we have here is that Michael Douglas's got torched
- 8:54Speaker 1: while he was making Wall Street, that famous movie he made.
- 8:57Speaker 1: He was two weeks into rehearsals when director, a very
- 9:00Speaker 1: famous director, Oliver Stone, knocked on his trailer door and
- 9:04Speaker 1: basically asked him, have you forgotten how to ask act? Now?
- 9:08Speaker 1: This was brutal, but there's a twist here, Michael said
- 9:11Speaker 1: he actually worked, He sharpened his performance, he worked harder,
- 9:17Speaker 1: He had that swagger that Gordon Gayco has, and so
- 9:21Speaker 1: this greatness was coaxed out of him. It was provoked
- 9:24Speaker 1: out of him, which leads us to a question a
- 9:27Speaker 1: thought today, does tough love work? I'm not a fan
- 9:31Speaker 1: of tough love. I'm a fan of love love. I
- 9:33Speaker 1: don't like criticism, but I have to admit here. I
- 9:36Speaker 1: don't want to, but I have to. When I get
- 9:39Speaker 1: strong notes about the show, about what's going on about
- 9:43Speaker 1: my work, even though it does not feel right or
- 9:46Speaker 1: kind in the moment, it often makes me adjust what
- 9:49Speaker 1: I'm doing normally for the better. Does tough love work
- 9:54Speaker 1: on you? Michael Douglas, one of the biggest stars in
- 9:56Speaker 1: the world making a huge movie Wall Street. Performance wasn't
- 10:01Speaker 1: great at first, the first few weeks they were shooting,
- 10:04Speaker 1: it wasn't great, and the director took him to one
- 10:07Speaker 1: side and was really rough. It was really tough, said
- 10:11Speaker 1: have you forgot how to act? He even asked, are
- 10:14Speaker 1: you on drugs? And so that made Michael reconsider I'm
- 10:19Speaker 1: personally not a fan of tough love. I don't run
- 10:22Speaker 1: my business with that much tough love, but do you
- 10:25Speaker 1: and does it work? And I've got to admit it
- 10:28Speaker 1: has worked for me once or twice. Over here in Britain,
- 10:33Speaker 1: we've got to talk about William and Andrew. A lot
- 10:36Speaker 1: is going on. So William's not here at the moment.
- 10:38Speaker 1: He's on an official visit in Saudi Arabia. The government
- 10:42Speaker 1: asked William if he would go to Saudi Arabia despite
- 10:45Speaker 1: all the horrors over there, what's going on in that country.
- 10:49Speaker 1: William was there and he was openly challenged by reporters
- 10:53Speaker 1: about the royal family and what has it really done
- 10:56Speaker 1: regarding the former Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epste. The question
- 11:01Speaker 1: was shouted at the Prince twice and it hung in
- 11:03Speaker 1: the air. William did not answer. He kept walking. Now,
- 11:07Speaker 1: Kensington Palace have issued a very carefully worded statement addressing
- 11:12Speaker 1: the concerns of the victims, but their silence in the
- 11:16Speaker 1: moment spoke just as loudly. Andrew is following William the
- 11:20Speaker 1: royals everywhere. I get it. The Palace is desperate to
- 11:24Speaker 1: move on. But whether the public or the media, the
- 11:27Speaker 1: press led them, that's another thing. Entirely. I don't think
- 11:31Speaker 1: they should be allowed to move on here. Andrew was
- 11:34Speaker 1: a very intricate part of that family and used his
- 11:38Speaker 1: power to do evil. We know that now we've seen
- 11:41Speaker 1: the Epstein files. There's more that's going to come. Andrew's
- 11:44Speaker 1: a bad guy. What has the family done to protect him?
- 11:48Speaker 1: What is the family going to do moving forward? I
- 11:51Speaker 1: know King Charles dilly dallyed on this. It is his brother.
- 11:55Speaker 1: He has deep feelings towards his brother and their sister,
- 11:59Speaker 1: and also so Edward, the youngest brother. They've dilly dallied too.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It is William that we have to tip our hat
- 12:06Speaker 1: to here. It is William that told his dad, his aunt,
- 12:10Speaker 1: his uncle that they had to do something. William is
- 12:13Speaker 1: the driving force to get Andrew away from this family,
- 12:18Speaker 1: to get rid of this problem. But this is where
- 12:21Speaker 1: the issue is. Getting rid of a problem is not justice.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Put in Andrew in a big, beautiful private farm up
- 12:29Speaker 1: in Sandrington, three hours away from London. Yes, it gets
- 12:33Speaker 1: him out of the spotlight. It gets him out of
- 12:35Speaker 1: the capitol, It gets him maybe out of the press.
- 12:38Speaker 1: It puts him on an estate, a private estate where
- 12:41Speaker 1: photographers are not allowed. He can ride his horses, he
- 12:44Speaker 1: can live out the rest of his life in the
- 12:46Speaker 1: lap of luxury. They're not putting him into a tiny
- 12:48Speaker 1: little flat, They're giving him a massive, massive farm house.
- 12:52Speaker 1: But is that justice is getting rid of him justice?
- 12:56Speaker 1: I would argue, No, it's not. This needs to be invested.
- 13:00Speaker 1: The police have opened an investigation now the palace. The
- 13:03Speaker 1: King has finally said that yes he thinks this is
- 13:07Speaker 1: a good idea and they will cooperate. But will they
- 13:10Speaker 1: They've got to now be totally transparent, I would argue here,
- 13:14Speaker 1: the sentiment is that this is the biggest crisis ever
- 13:18Speaker 1: ever to shake the royal family. This is going to
- 13:22Speaker 1: change the family, it's going to change the monarchy. He
- 13:24Speaker 1: could even get rid of the monarchy for the first
- 13:27Speaker 1: time ever. Opinion polls here more people are against the
- 13:31Speaker 1: Royals than are for them. That is a massive, massive change.
- 13:35Speaker 1: And so if this is not handled, not swept under
- 13:38Speaker 1: the carpet, which is what the Royals have a horrible
- 13:41Speaker 1: habit of doing. They want to carry on, what is it,
- 13:44Speaker 1: Keep calm and carry on, never complain, never explain. That's
- 13:48Speaker 1: the family motto. Not going to work anymore. Andrew has
- 13:53Speaker 1: really exposed the rot in the family, in the institution
- 13:57Speaker 1: and how are they going to crect the cause for
- 14:00Speaker 1: owing came into a big, fabulous, six bedroom farmhouse three
- 14:04Speaker 1: hours outside London. That's not justice. If you or I
- 14:09Speaker 1: had done what Andrew has been accused of doing, we
- 14:14Speaker 1: would be probably in jail should Andrew pay that price.
- 14:19Speaker 1: It looks as if he has committed crimes. Once again,
- 14:23Speaker 1: we're not trying to rush ahead of ourselves. We're not
- 14:25Speaker 1: getting ahead of our skis here to use an Olympic metaphor,
- 14:29Speaker 1: but just ignoring this, William, if you're listening a love
- 14:32Speaker 1: a love alone, or just pushing this to one side,
- 14:35Speaker 1: or just issue in a statement and hoping we can
- 14:38Speaker 1: all just move on. Not gonna work. This is not
- 14:42Speaker 1: going to work. Okay, We're gonna take a quick break
- 14:45Speaker 1: and we will be you right back, welcome back to
- 14:49Speaker 1: it will be naughtimate, nice hauste shooter. Hey, we normally
- 14:53Speaker 1: get to the polls right here, but I think I
- 14:55Speaker 1: think we made the right choice here. Tonal wise, sensibility wise,
- 15:00Speaker 1: it's just not a good idea, is it to do
- 15:01Speaker 1: a poll when someone's mother is missing and said no polls?
- 15:05Speaker 1: We haven't done one actually for I think about a
- 15:08Speaker 1: week now. This story has been going on for ten
- 15:10Speaker 1: eleven days, and we has been our lead every day
- 15:13Speaker 1: almost It's such a massive story. So no poll today,
- 15:16Speaker 1: don't vote on a poll for tomorrow. There is no
- 15:18Speaker 1: poll for tomorrow. So let's get straight to and Nicest
- 15:23Speaker 1: of the day. Oh, and Nicest of the Day is
- 15:26Speaker 1: a really really exciting single Chapel Roan. I think you
- 15:31Speaker 1: might have heard a Chapel. She has been out there
- 15:33Speaker 1: winning awards. Her Pink Pony Club is just delicious. Everybody
- 15:38Speaker 1: is singing along to that. The album is fantastic. Well,
- 15:42Speaker 1: now we figured out. We now know she's not just
- 15:45Speaker 1: an incredible artist, she's an incredible human being. Chapel just
- 15:50Speaker 1: did what most other artists would whisper about. She walked
- 15:53Speaker 1: away from her most powerful talent agent, the founder of
- 15:57Speaker 1: the company, Cassie Wasserman, who has surfaced in the Epstein files.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So she didn't edge a Betsy her. She didn't try
- 16:05Speaker 1: and swirm and this she was a statement, but not
- 16:07Speaker 1: do anything. No, this was not prre spin. This was values.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Chapel may be clear that no creer Win is worth
- 16:16Speaker 1: your moral compromise, period. And in the industry where silence
- 16:20Speaker 1: and often shrugging is the norm She said, no, it's
- 16:23Speaker 1: going to be about accountability. Now. Should she have stayed
- 16:27Speaker 1: with this really powerful agent. She might have if all
- 16:31Speaker 1: she was focused on was a career, no doubt. A
- 16:34Speaker 1: lot of power here. Having a powerful agent is very
- 16:37Speaker 1: essential to be in a massive star. She doesn't care.
- 16:41Speaker 1: She won't be in business with people who were in
- 16:44Speaker 1: business with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. And I think this is extraordinary.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Once again, Chapel has done nothing, no wrong. But her manager,
- 16:53Speaker 1: somebody in her inner circle is in the Epstein files
- 16:57Speaker 1: and I've seen their emails. They're disgusting. They grow people.
- 17:00Speaker 1: She doesn't want him as her agent, him on her team.
- 17:04Speaker 1: The Royals could learn a lot here from Chapel and
- 17:07Speaker 1: nicest of the day. Sometimes making a hard decision is
- 17:11Speaker 1: the best thing to do, and she made a really
- 17:14Speaker 1: hard decision. Her career is just exploding. She's the new
- 17:18Speaker 1: Eat person, She's the new Moment, and what happens in
- 17:22Speaker 1: the next few months is going to determine whether or
- 17:24Speaker 1: not she goes on to be a megastar or disappears
- 17:27Speaker 1: from the spotlight. She's just broke through. Everybody's talking about
- 17:30Speaker 1: this album, but she's decided, you know, what. I don't
- 17:34Speaker 1: care about that at the minute. I care about what's right,
- 17:37Speaker 1: and being in business with someone who is in business
- 17:41Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein is not for her. Well done, it's brave,
- 17:46Speaker 1: it's courageous taking a risk with your career to do
- 17:49Speaker 1: the right thing. A lot of people wouldn't do that,
- 17:52Speaker 1: would you? And nicest the other day and now and
- 17:54Speaker 1: naughty is the day, naughty, naughty, naughty. Bethany Frankel is
- 17:58Speaker 1: trying to walk back criticism of Bunny. So Bethany, who
- 18:01Speaker 1: is prolific on social media, always given her take, always
- 18:04Speaker 1: given her opinion. She trashed the Super Bowl halftime performance,
- 18:09Speaker 1: but then she deleted it poof it has gone. Minutes later,
- 18:13Speaker 1: she did another video where she appeared to be much
- 18:16Speaker 1: more softer. She was pivoting here, so I think she
- 18:19Speaker 1: spoke her truth. She didn't like it, she said it.
- 18:23Speaker 1: The receipts will last forever, even though the video has
- 18:25Speaker 1: been deleted. And then because it did not poll well,
- 18:29Speaker 1: it didn't feel well with her fans, with people that
- 18:33Speaker 1: love her, she changed her mind. This is the opposite
- 18:35Speaker 1: of a chapel road, it really is. It's just the opposite. Here.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I love when Wendy Williams our dear friend, Wendy. I
- 18:42Speaker 1: hope she's doing okay. I haven't spoken to her in
- 18:44Speaker 1: a while. I love when Wendy used to say say
- 18:47Speaker 1: it like you mean it. If you don't want to
- 18:50Speaker 1: say it, don't. Nobody's forcing you but to sort of
- 18:53Speaker 1: shrink to fit. It's just not a good look, particularly
- 18:56Speaker 1: when you pretend that your brand is built on being authentic. No,
- 19:02Speaker 1: your brand is built on being liked. And the more
- 19:05Speaker 1: likes she gets, the more attention she gets. And so
- 19:08Speaker 1: this one was a tricky one for Bethany, but she
- 19:10Speaker 1: has deleted that video. Haylet's end with a moment of
- 19:14Speaker 1: Rob you Rob, You Rob, you got Rob. Don't let
- 19:17Speaker 1: somebody ruin your peace just because they can't find theirs.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Their chaos is not your responsibility. Their anger is not
- 19:25Speaker 1: your burden. You don't have to absorb dysfunction just to
- 19:30Speaker 1: prove your kind protecting your peace. That's not a rudence, No,
- 19:35Speaker 1: that's wisdom. Not everyone deserves access to your energy, or
- 19:40Speaker 1: your time, or your heart. And you are allowed to
- 19:42Speaker 1: step back, go quiet and choose calm over conflict. Peace
- 19:48Speaker 1: is earned, So God it fiercely once again don't let
- 19:55Speaker 1: someone ruin your peace just because they can't find their Hey,
