- 1:25Speaker 3: I'm going to give a shout out this morning to
- 1:27Speaker 3: Optical Expressions who have helped me out so much. With
- 1:33Speaker 3: my glasses open twenty four to seven at Oe Berlin
- 1:37Speaker 3: Dot Comment on the fourth floor the Planter Block, one
- 1:41Speaker 3: of our presenting sponsors, longtime presenting sponsors. When was the
- 1:45Speaker 3: last time you scheduled an I appointment? Really? Two two
- 1:51Speaker 3: three twenty ninety is the phone number to call? It
- 1:54Speaker 3: just had mine not too long ago. All things are
- 1:57Speaker 3: generally pretty good BCK real Estate. There's a bind partisan
- 2:05Speaker 3: pushing Congress right now to expand access to homeownership in
- 2:09Speaker 3: rural areas, places very much like Vermont. One week from today,
- 2:17Speaker 3: John Biondolillo is gonna chat with me and we're gonna
- 2:22Speaker 3: have a pretty straightforward conversation about this homeownership housing all
- 2:29Speaker 3: here in Vermont. Hey, thanks for sharing you morning with me.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Thanks for tuning in from Flying the Wall Productions here
- 2:37Speaker 3: on North Main Street and Berry. You've got the aired
- 2:39Speaker 3: out podcast live on Facebook, live on YouTube. We're six
- 2:44Speaker 3: days away from our taxes being due six days. Happy
- 2:53Speaker 3: birthday today, Everett Fay, Mitch Felderhoff, Norma Wark, Amanda La Fontaine,
- 3:00Speaker 3: Ray Bisson, Ben Snelling, Regina Newell, and Cammy Brunell got At.
- 3:07Speaker 3: We're at thirty eight degrees here on North Main Street
- 3:11Speaker 3: in the Granite City of Barry, Vermont. We're looking at
- 3:13Speaker 3: sunshine today, afternoon, clouds around sixty for a high tonight,
- 3:19Speaker 3: partly cloudy around forty tomorrow sixty five and rain cloudy
- 3:24Speaker 3: on Saturday forty six and fifty five on Sunday with
- 3:30Speaker 3: partly cloudy skies. Very important message from our chief, our
- 3:38Speaker 3: fire chief right here in the Granite City, Chief Cushman. Yesterday,
- 3:43Speaker 3: as you may be aware, there was another brush fire,
- 3:47Speaker 3: this time in Northfield, and the concern is great right now. Chief,
- 3:52Speaker 3: Good morning, Hey, Good morning, Jadie. How are you. I'm well,
- 3:55Speaker 3: I'm well. Thanks for hopping on with us this morning.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Some public safety information. I know that I'm just as
- 4:04Speaker 3: guilty as everyone else this time of year. I'm anxious
- 4:06Speaker 3: to have a little brush fire, uh you know, in
- 4:10Speaker 3: the in the yard, maybe a little bonfire, maybe something
- 4:12Speaker 3: out on the patio, uh raking up leaves and sticks
- 4:16Speaker 3: and doing spring cleanup. And it's tempting, man, It's it's
- 4:21Speaker 3: really tempting. But another brush fire yesterday in Northfield. What
- 4:26Speaker 3: say you about this time of year?
- 4:30Speaker 1: Uh?
- 4:30Speaker 4: You know, you you bring up a great point where
- 4:32Speaker 4: the weather's finally with us and the sunshining, and and
- 4:35Speaker 4: this weekend, folks are gonna want to be out cleaning
- 4:38Speaker 4: up the yards.
- 4:39Speaker 5: Uh.
- 4:39Speaker 4: And and the million dollar question is what do you
- 4:42Speaker 4: do with all that stuff?
- 4:43Speaker 3: Right?
- 4:44Speaker 4: And and people have a tendency to want to burn
- 4:47Speaker 4: that debris in their backyards. And and we have a
- 4:52Speaker 4: process to follow in the city, and it's to keep
- 4:55Speaker 4: everybody safe and keep friends with our neighbors. So we
- 4:59Speaker 4: have a permit process in the city is really relatively painless.
- 5:04Speaker 4: And and right now is a good time because there's
- 5:07Speaker 4: still some moisture in the ground.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Yeah. And I think that's a pretty big misconception, is
- 5:16Speaker 3: we think that the moisture in the ground. Uh, we're
- 5:19Speaker 3: still you know, we're in the stick season. This is
- 5:21Speaker 3: mud season that we're gonna be okay, but not not
- 5:26Speaker 3: necessarily the case, man, And I learned that the hard
- 5:30Speaker 3: way a couple of years ago myself. But things are
- 5:33Speaker 3: so dry, it's it's all pretty much tinder right now.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Yeah, the the dead litter, the taller grasses. Uh, those
- 5:41Speaker 4: certainly are more of a problem than just the short
- 5:45Speaker 4: cut lawns that that are dead from from over the winter,
- 5:50Speaker 4: regardless of of of now or in the middle of
- 5:53Speaker 4: the summer when it's green. You know, a lot of
- 5:55Speaker 4: cont needs to be had when when having open fires.
- 5:59Speaker 3: What's a what's a permit cost? Chief? Here in the city,
- 6:05Speaker 3: we have two options.
- 6:06Speaker 4: One is a three day and as a concurrent three
- 6:08Speaker 4: day that's ten dollars. And then the most common one
- 6:11Speaker 4: is a seasonal permit, which is for the calendar year
- 6:15Speaker 4: ending December thirty first, that's twenty dollars. A couple of
- 6:19Speaker 4: different ways that folks can get those. Doesn't matter what
- 6:23Speaker 4: the payment method is. You still have to come to
- 6:25Speaker 4: the firehouse and pick up your paper copy. But payment
- 6:28Speaker 4: methods are you can go to the clerk's office and
- 6:30Speaker 4: pay with cash or check, and I believe they take
- 6:32Speaker 4: a credit card there. They give you a receipt that
- 6:34Speaker 4: you bring to the firehouse and that indicates to us
- 6:37Speaker 4: that has been paid for. You can pay online through
- 6:40Speaker 4: the city's portal in the same location that you pay
- 6:44Speaker 4: for your water bill. As an example, there's a section
- 6:48Speaker 4: for the burn permit that'll email you a receipt. We
- 6:52Speaker 4: just asked that you bring a copy or digital copy
- 6:54Speaker 4: of that receipt to the firehouse, or you can come
- 6:57Speaker 4: to the firehouse and pay with a check or money order.
- 6:59Speaker 4: We don't take cash here. And we asked that you
- 7:03Speaker 4: stop buying normal business hours Monday through seven days a week,
- 7:07Speaker 4: just normal business hours, and plan ahead. You know, if
- 7:11Speaker 4: if you wanted to burn this afternoon and we're busy
- 7:16Speaker 4: on calls, unfortunately we can't. We may not be able
- 7:18Speaker 4: to issue that. So plan ahead before stopping down and
- 7:22Speaker 4: before you plan on burning, just to ensure that we
- 7:25Speaker 4: can get that permit lined up for you.
- 7:27Speaker 3: What if somebody's thinking, well, I got a little tiny
- 7:29Speaker 3: little fire pit, you know, safe one metal, it's on
- 7:33Speaker 3: the patio, you know, do I need a fire permit
- 7:39Speaker 3: for something I burn permit for something like that.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Yeah, any open burning in the city. And and you know,
- 7:45Speaker 4: one of the things that you said that's this this
- 7:47Speaker 4: scary for me to hear, is I've got it on
- 7:49Speaker 4: my patio. Well, if it's a rock patio, that's fine,
- 7:51Speaker 4: but if it's wooden patio. That's really frightening from a
- 7:55Speaker 4: fire safety standpoint.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Uh.
- 7:57Speaker 4: There are those the the stainless steel rings that have
- 8:00Speaker 4: come a long ways with the.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Way that they burn.
- 8:05Speaker 4: They burn really clean and they're they're cool to the touch.
- 8:08Speaker 4: They're kind of pricey, but you can get those at
- 8:10Speaker 4: the local hardware stores and I think they're well worth
- 8:13Speaker 4: the investment for the safety aspect.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Chief, Thank you so much for coming on with us
- 8:19Speaker 3: this morning. Important stuff to know.
- 8:22Speaker 4: I appreciate your time.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah, have a have a safe rest of your your
- 8:25Speaker 3: day and your weekend. And seems like more cost effective
- 8:30Speaker 3: to to just get the permit, uh, and not the
- 8:34Speaker 3: fine Distracted Driving Awareness month, Autism Awareness Month, and also
- 8:45Speaker 3: Child Abuse Awareness Month. My guest in the studio this morning,
- 8:51Speaker 3: who's right next to me, is Rebecca Duranlow, the executive
- 8:55Speaker 3: director of our House of Central FROMAT. Welcome back to
- 8:58Speaker 3: the microphones here it aired out.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Thanks for having me, JD.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Glad to have you here. Tell me what's happening. Y'all
- 9:05Speaker 3: are doing some First of all, kudos before even begin
- 9:10Speaker 3: to you and your entire staff at our house. What
- 9:14Speaker 3: you guys do is amazing. We're going to talk about
- 9:16Speaker 3: some fundraising. We're going to talk about something really cool
- 9:18Speaker 3: that you have going on this month, But first, what
- 9:21Speaker 3: exactly is our house and what do you do? You're
- 9:24Speaker 3: like a stone's throw away from the studio.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely so.
- 9:28Speaker 5: Our house is a nonprofit children's advocacy center and special
- 9:32Speaker 5: investigations unit. We serve families and children who have experienced
- 9:37Speaker 5: sexual violence within Washington County, so all of Washington County
- 9:41Speaker 5: comes to our door. Essentially, we are built into legislature,
- 9:46Speaker 5: but we are a private entity in a nonprofit which
- 9:49Speaker 5: is why we do a lot of fundraising. We are
- 9:51Speaker 5: not state funded. We do work through a state grant,
- 9:54Speaker 5: but that does not fully fulfill our needs, so we
- 9:58Speaker 5: have lots of other fund the streams that we need
- 10:01Speaker 5: that keep us up up and running. We work with
- 10:04Speaker 5: the Department for Children and Families, We work with local
- 10:06Speaker 5: law enforcement, We work.
- 10:07Speaker 1: With the State's Attorney's office.
- 10:09Speaker 5: We have a therapist in our office now who stay
- 10:12Speaker 5: is very, very busy.
- 10:14Speaker 1: So essentially, if.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Your child discloses some sort of sexual violence and a
- 10:19Speaker 5: report is made to DCF and law enforcement, that report
- 10:23Speaker 5: comes to us and through that we filter down through
- 10:28Speaker 5: a team, so there's a team response immediately, so DCF.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Will reach out to the family, they'll schedule a time, and.
- 10:35Speaker 5: Then DCF and law enforcement are going to come to
- 10:37Speaker 5: our house, and our advocate is already at our house,
- 10:41Speaker 5: and then the family is going to come to our
- 10:43Speaker 5: house and.
- 10:43Speaker 1: They're going to receive their services.
- 10:45Speaker 5: They're going to receive their trauma informed interview, they're going
- 10:48Speaker 5: to receive their advocacy, their follow up, everything at our house.
- 10:52Speaker 5: So these families are not going to DCF to say
- 10:56Speaker 5: XYZ happened. They're not going to law enforcement to say
- 10:58Speaker 5: XYZ happened. Everything is happening at our house. That interview
- 11:03Speaker 5: is recorded audio and visually, so that when the case
- 11:07Speaker 5: is sent for prosecution, the state's attorney has.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Access to that video. They're watching it, so.
- 11:12Speaker 5: These children are not having to be reinterviewed, they're not
- 11:15Speaker 5: having to go through all of that all over again.
- 11:18Speaker 5: Everything is incredibly trauma informed. Everybody has received very, very
- 11:23Speaker 5: formal and up to date training, rigorous training consistently and
- 11:27Speaker 5: constantly on what it is like for these children and
- 11:30Speaker 5: families to go through not only the trauma that they've experienced,
- 11:33Speaker 5: but then the trauma of the ongoing court proceedings and
- 11:37Speaker 5: then we have a therapist on site there. As I mentioned,
- 11:40Speaker 5: just last year alone she saw four hundred, had four
- 11:43Speaker 5: hundred individual visits at the house, so very very busy.
- 11:48Speaker 5: And Jess our caseworker, an advocate. She's there for the
- 11:52Speaker 5: families through the whole process. So you know, after they
- 11:56Speaker 5: have a question, they call, they're stressed out about something,
- 11:59Speaker 5: they call. So are there kind of from beginning to end,
- 12:02Speaker 5: and quite frankly, if something happened twenty years ago, you
- 12:06Speaker 5: call us and we'll figure out, you know, what we can.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Do to help.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Since I this is amazing to hear this, and since
- 12:14Speaker 3: I had you in here last you're saying several hundred cases,
- 12:21Speaker 3: Well that was.
- 12:21Speaker 5: From our fiscal year of twenty twenty five, so in
- 12:25Speaker 5: twenty twenty five, you know, we're just wrapping up.
- 12:27Speaker 1: We run on a different fiscal year, so in twenty
- 12:30Speaker 1: twenty five, you know, and.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Those therapy visits are not necessarily clients who have received
- 12:38Speaker 5: services at our house. It's just an additional service that
- 12:40Speaker 5: we offer there. In twenty twenty five, we had eighty
- 12:44Speaker 5: three cases where that were pursued for sexual child abuse?
- 12:48Speaker 3: How many eighty three? How long has the we have
- 12:54Speaker 3: a question here in the comments. Has the video portion
- 12:58Speaker 3: of the investigation been incorporated into.
- 13:01Speaker 1: All this quite a while? I would say probably at
- 13:05Speaker 1: least twenty years.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Okay, okay, how young are we talking about here?
- 13:14Speaker 1: Young? I mean we see kids.
- 13:15Speaker 5: We have a formal interviewing process for interviewing kids who
- 13:19Speaker 5: are under five.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Wow, your staff has to be cut from a certain cloth. Yes,
- 13:30Speaker 3: they really have to be.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say anybody who works in this field,
- 13:35Speaker 5: you know, and not just at our house. You know,
- 13:37Speaker 5: the team that we work with at DCF in law enforcement,
- 13:40Speaker 5: those detectives are especially trained. Those DCF staff members are
- 13:44Speaker 5: especially trained. And it's definitely, you know, challenging. Most of
- 13:49Speaker 5: us have families and it's you know, it's hard to
- 13:53Speaker 5: not see yourself and your family in these experiences.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yeah. And this is not a Monday through Friday nine
- 14:01Speaker 3: to five punch in punch out.
- 14:04Speaker 5: No, No, certainly not. I mean, you know, these intakes
- 14:06Speaker 5: come in all the time. People have questions all the time.
- 14:09Speaker 1: The facility is a twenty four hour facility, so there are.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Key codes and people could you know, utilize the services
- 14:16Speaker 5: after hours if they needed to. We don't have a
- 14:19Speaker 5: lot of that because a lot of times children are
- 14:22Speaker 5: not reporting actively when it's happening.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You know, a lot of these reports are historical reports.
- 14:28Speaker 5: As we say, historical when the abuse is no longer occurring,
- 14:32Speaker 5: because a lot of times they feel safe to make
- 14:35Speaker 5: those reports, whether that you know, is a few weeks
- 14:38Speaker 5: or even years later. So a lot of times these
- 14:42Speaker 5: reports are not emergencies in terms of they don't come
- 14:45Speaker 5: in at midnight or whatever. But certainly the load that
- 14:50Speaker 5: the staff and everybody experiences is constant. You know, you
- 14:53Speaker 5: get a hard case, you interview a child, you get
- 14:56Speaker 5: a really you know, tough disclosure.
- 14:58Speaker 1: At four thirty. You're not just like, oh, have a
- 15:00Speaker 1: good day, everybody, and you go home.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I mean that's weekends here.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Wow, Vermont's first children's advocacy center since nineteen eighty nine.
- 15:12Speaker 5: Yep, yep, definitely one of the first, been along around
- 15:16Speaker 5: for a very long time.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Wow. What was happening before that?
- 15:24Speaker 1: Everybody was going all their different ways.
- 15:26Speaker 5: So basically, if you had a child they disclosed a use,
- 15:31Speaker 5: they would be interviewed at a DCF office and then
- 15:34Speaker 5: they would later you know, the police might catch wind
- 15:37Speaker 5: of it.
- 15:37Speaker 1: There.
- 15:38Speaker 5: You know, there was no team, so there was no
- 15:40Speaker 5: like immediate communication. So then if the police caught wind
- 15:44Speaker 5: of it, the police would interview, somebody else might interview,
- 15:47Speaker 5: the doctor might do an interview. You know, there'd be
- 15:51Speaker 5: multiple interviews any single time because nobody worked together.
- 15:55Speaker 1: You know, in these fields and in a lot of fields, people.
- 15:58Speaker 5: Are you know, I'm my specialized person. I don't need
- 16:00Speaker 5: to work with you. You know, that's just very common.
- 16:03Speaker 5: It's very difficult to merge a lot of separate entities together.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah, how many staff members do you have?
- 16:12Speaker 1: One and a half.
- 16:14Speaker 5: I'm full time and my case manager is part time
- 16:17Speaker 5: over there at our house.
- 16:20Speaker 3: That's pretty remarkable.
- 16:23Speaker 5: I mean without our team, we wouldn't be able to
- 16:24Speaker 5: do it for sure, you know.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I mean the just our case manager.
- 16:29Speaker 5: She works primarily with the families, keeping in touch with them,
- 16:33Speaker 5: you know, before, after, during, through the whole process. And
- 16:36Speaker 5: then it's my job to kind of manage a grants,
- 16:39Speaker 5: manage a team fundraise, keep the building going, keep the
- 16:43Speaker 5: policies and procedures. We manage a several certifications that we
- 16:49Speaker 5: have to have on file, so just kind of run
- 16:53Speaker 5: in the building.
- 16:54Speaker 3: I know there's some businesses here in Central fromont that
- 16:59Speaker 3: love you guys, yes, and really understand firsthand the importance
- 17:06Speaker 3: of having you in our community, operating in our community,
- 17:10Speaker 3: and donate to you graciously on their own. Yes, But
- 17:18Speaker 3: as a nonprofit, you guys need to kind of carry
- 17:22Speaker 3: your own weight and have your own fundraising efforts, which
- 17:27Speaker 3: I can only imagine has got to be. It's it's
- 17:34Speaker 3: it's not the most exciting topic in your world.
- 17:37Speaker 5: It's a very challenging topic. It's a challenging topic for
- 17:40Speaker 5: people to hear about, which I totally understand.
- 17:44Speaker 1: But yeah, fundraising is a huge issue for us because
- 17:47Speaker 1: we need.
- 17:48Speaker 5: It and it's difficult to do. It's not a fun topic.
- 17:55Speaker 5: It's not and we're not raising for something fun, you know,
- 17:58Speaker 5: we're not you know, we're not raising to give kids
- 18:02Speaker 5: a great birthday or great Christmas, which is a lovely
- 18:05Speaker 5: cause and I love all of that, but there's nothing
- 18:07Speaker 5: shiny about the money that we need to raise.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Because the money that we need to raise is to
- 18:13Speaker 1: send somebody to.
- 18:14Speaker 5: Training to learn how to talk to your child if
- 18:16Speaker 5: they disclose abuse, or it's to make sure that when
- 18:20Speaker 5: a family comes they have coffee and that the kids
- 18:23Speaker 5: have pop tarts and coloring books. You know, we get
- 18:27Speaker 5: very minimal state and federal grants which are shrinking by
- 18:30Speaker 5: the day. We've been level funded for quite a while,
- 18:35Speaker 5: and which means I'm personally level funded. And also that
- 18:41Speaker 5: means that we don't we don't have those things for
- 18:44Speaker 5: the families. So you know, I'm literally out here fundraising
- 18:47Speaker 5: for toilet paper and pop tarts half the time, which
- 18:50Speaker 5: is not exciting for anybody to pay for, but it's.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Stuff that we need.
- 18:55Speaker 5: And then, you know, for Prevent Child Abuse Month or
- 18:59Speaker 5: a child abuse Awareness Month, we're trying to raise prevention
- 19:02Speaker 5: and make kits for kids to be able to take home.
- 19:06Speaker 5: I've been sent out an email and this month, I'm
- 19:09Speaker 5: bringing some kits to a bunch of daycare providers so
- 19:15Speaker 5: that those children will have that prevention education. And that's
- 19:19Speaker 5: just money that we have to, you know, fundraise for consistently.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Whose idea, Who's the brain child behind this fundraising effort
- 19:32Speaker 3: for April Child Abuse Awareness Month?
- 19:36Speaker 1: Well, if I guess if there was a brain child,
- 19:38Speaker 1: that would be me.
- 19:39Speaker 5: Any hair brained ideas that come out of out of
- 19:42Speaker 5: our house are on my shoulders, yay or nay.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to show this on camera right now,
- 19:49Speaker 3: And I've actually got it up here right now. So
- 19:53Speaker 3: what is this? I see the whole calendar of April here.
- 19:56Speaker 5: Yeah, so for the whole calendar of April, we have
- 19:59Speaker 5: several businesses that are.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Helping us out.
- 20:03Speaker 5: So in the blue are the businesses that are helping
- 20:05Speaker 5: us out financially, and in the orange are links to trainings.
- 20:11Speaker 5: So for example, on Thursday, there's a link to a
- 20:14Speaker 5: training on consent and healthy boundaries, and that is a
- 20:17Speaker 5: great training for parents to be able to take in
- 20:21Speaker 5: order to make sure that they can teach your children
- 20:25Speaker 5: properly about consent and healthy boundaries.
- 20:27Speaker 3: That's today, that's today, okay.
- 20:29Speaker 5: So that's an ongoing training. That's just a live link
- 20:32Speaker 5: that parents can click on at any time and follow.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Last week we had a din in to Donate event
- 20:41Speaker 5: on Applebee's, so anybody who brought our flyer to Applebee's
- 20:44Speaker 5: we received a proceeds from that. And then tomorrow at Julio's.
- 20:49Speaker 5: Julio's is doing something amazing. They're donating ten percent of
- 20:53Speaker 5: their gross proceeds from the day to us. So I
- 20:57Speaker 5: ask everybody to please go to Julio's tomorrow. The sun
- 21:01Speaker 5: is going to be out. Get a get a taco
- 21:04Speaker 5: get it to go. I believe they still do to
- 21:06Speaker 5: go Margarita's from the covid Era, which are delicious and amazing.
- 21:12Speaker 3: They have a blue one.
- 21:14Speaker 5: If you have never gotten the blue one, you need
- 21:16Speaker 5: to blue one is so good. I'll be getting that tomorrow. Yeah.
- 21:24Speaker 5: And then we have the Roots, which is a market
- 21:27Speaker 5: which is an amazing market in Middlesex. They have a
- 21:31Speaker 5: couple of jars on the counters for us and by
- 21:36Speaker 5: the jars they have pens, pins bookmarks for kids called
- 21:41Speaker 5: rock the Talk, which just has information on talking about
- 21:44Speaker 5: healthy boundaries, consent, uh, privacy, that sort of stuff.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Washington Store. I've tagged them here. On Monday they do
- 21:53Speaker 1: an amazing lunch, so to go there. They've got a jar.
- 21:57Speaker 3: There that's this coming Monday, Monday.
- 22:02Speaker 5: The Summer Street Tavern on the sixteenth, they're going to
- 22:06Speaker 5: be supporting us. There's a typo that I see because
- 22:08Speaker 5: once again I'm a one man band, so sorry about that,
- 22:14Speaker 5: but they're pro they're going to be donating a portion
- 22:16Speaker 5: of their proceeds to us as well, same as Julio.
- 22:19Speaker 5: So next Thursday on the sixteenth, go there and.
- 22:21Speaker 3: The pub is doing meat bingo.
- 22:24Speaker 1: The pub's got meat Bingo.
- 22:27Speaker 5: The pub is a huge supporter of us. They do
- 22:29Speaker 5: our poll tickets there. So always if you've got to
- 22:33Speaker 5: got some time.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Go to the pub Lindsey, grab grab a poll ticket.
- 22:37Speaker 5: If you pull ticket at the pub, you are directly
- 22:39Speaker 5: supporting us. All the poll ticket funds go directly to us,
- 22:43Speaker 5: and that has been.
- 22:44Speaker 1: A lifeline for us.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Wow to be able to do and their Burger Night,
- 22:50Speaker 5: their seven dollars burger Night, any burger I.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Know, believe me, every single one.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Of them, toppings, everything, If you have the double, I
- 23:01Speaker 5: have not had the Double. I don't know if I
- 23:02Speaker 5: it's some of the double quite honestly, but I do
- 23:04Speaker 5: like the mushroom and Swisperer too. But maybe if somebody
- 23:09Speaker 5: split the double with me. So yeah, we just everything
- 23:13Speaker 5: on here. There's these are all live links. So we've
- 23:16Speaker 5: got child abuse statistics on here. If you've ever wondered
- 23:20Speaker 5: what it was to be a mandated reporter, the mandated
- 23:22Speaker 5: reporting training is on here. The sleep safe the sleep
- 23:26Speaker 5: Safe sleepover checklist.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Is on here.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Some of these trainings are free. Some of them have
- 23:32Speaker 5: like an eight dollar cost. If that is a limit
- 23:34Speaker 5: to you, send me a message I'll pay your eight dollars, Like,
- 23:37Speaker 5: if you want this training, I want you to have
- 23:40Speaker 5: this training. Really, prevention is the key to keeping our
- 23:46Speaker 5: kids safe, teaching them the normal body parts, teaching them
- 23:50Speaker 5: the right language, teaching them consent, teaching them how to
- 23:54Speaker 5: say no and stand up for themselves. You know, the
- 23:57Speaker 5: awareness and the education is not really in the schools.
- 24:00Speaker 1: It should be. It's a hard topic and parents are
- 24:04Speaker 1: usually the driver for those that.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Education not being in the schools because they don't want
- 24:08Speaker 5: their kids to learn something that they don't want to
- 24:10Speaker 5: teach them. But at the same time, we're not that
- 24:13Speaker 5: great about teaching our kids as early as we should
- 24:15Speaker 5: be because we don't want to.
- 24:19Speaker 1: We say they're too young.
- 24:20Speaker 5: But when they're young is the time, because then are
- 24:23Speaker 5: our kids aren't embarrassed.
- 24:24Speaker 1: They're asking questions.
- 24:25Speaker 5: It's just a they don't have any preconceived notions about
- 24:29Speaker 5: it like we do because we're adults, so we've experienced it, right,
- 24:33Speaker 5: Like they're that age to start this is eight, and
- 24:38Speaker 5: so that they can ask questions and be informed and
- 24:40Speaker 5: not be embarrassed because they're not already weirded out about it.
- 24:45Speaker 5: And a lot of our disclosures happen when somebody at
- 24:47Speaker 5: school finally, you know, a health class finally touches the
- 24:50Speaker 5: topic and somebody is like, oh, you know, and then
- 24:55Speaker 5: they're disclosing because if they've been having this behavior happened
- 24:58Speaker 5: to them since they've been five.
- 25:00Speaker 3: No, it's it's too late.
- 25:01Speaker 5: Yeah, it's normal to them that they don't think anything
- 25:04Speaker 5: is wrong.
- 25:04Speaker 1: That's part of their household.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Yeah, we have a question here. What objects are the kits?
- 25:12Speaker 3: Our need are in the kits.
- 25:14Speaker 5: I do something different every year on the kits, and
- 25:16Speaker 5: I'm really excited about the kids. Shout out to Granite
- 25:18Speaker 5: City Graphics and Allison on that she really she took
- 25:23Speaker 5: it and ran with it with me this year and
- 25:25Speaker 5: this year the kits have some great books from the
- 25:28Speaker 5: Mama Bear Effect.
- 25:29Speaker 1: That's m A M A B E A R.
- 25:31Speaker 5: And anybody can go there and purchase stuff individually, but
- 25:36Speaker 5: we purchased some bulk books.
- 25:37Speaker 3: It's a website.
- 25:38Speaker 1: It's a website.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Tell me m A M A B E A R Effect,
- 25:43Speaker 5: Mama Bear Okay, And she has amazing posters.
- 25:49Speaker 1: She's got a great book.
- 25:52Speaker 5: There's so many body safety books out there, but a
- 25:53Speaker 5: lot of them are a little bit Wonky, So that's
- 25:55Speaker 5: one that I really like. So the kids will be
- 25:57Speaker 5: getting a body safety book. They'll be getting a coloring tote.
- 26:03Speaker 5: So I got a tote that the kids can color
- 26:05Speaker 5: wrong because they really like that, and it has a
- 26:09Speaker 5: body safe It has a safety circle work project on
- 26:13Speaker 5: the top of it. So basically it's gonna lead the
- 26:15Speaker 5: kids through who are their safety people and who can
- 26:19Speaker 5: they go to to talk to to trust because sometimes
- 26:22Speaker 5: a child might think, oh, this is like a person,
- 26:25Speaker 5: but that might not be a person.
- 26:27Speaker 1: That might not be somebody.
- 26:28Speaker 5: And then also learning if this person, if I go
- 26:31Speaker 5: to this person and they I don't get what I
- 26:34Speaker 5: need from them, who's my next person?
- 26:36Speaker 1: Like these are my five people?
- 26:38Speaker 5: Definitely, So depending on the situation, they feel like they
- 26:42Speaker 5: can go somewhere else.
- 26:44Speaker 3: We have a question or can can people make up
- 26:46Speaker 3: and drop off kits?
- 26:51Speaker 5: I would if somebody has an idea, I'd love for
- 26:53Speaker 5: them to reach out to me directly. We love to
- 26:56Speaker 5: have the more people who can be involved in this
- 26:59Speaker 5: the best better, and I would love if somebody could
- 27:03Speaker 5: would reach out to me. They can reach out to
- 27:05Speaker 5: me on our Facebook and feel free to drop my
- 27:08Speaker 5: email in there. JD yeah, I'm gonna put not a
- 27:12Speaker 5: calendar myself. The number listed there is my cell phone,
- 27:16Speaker 5: so people can call and text that anytime if they
- 27:18Speaker 5: have questions, because I want to get as many.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Kids out.
- 27:24Speaker 5: You know, we did the Williamstown Festival this fall with
- 27:27Speaker 5: Lindsey again and we handed out probably like four hundred
- 27:31Speaker 5: really items to people just with you know, some awareness.
- 27:35Speaker 1: And some tools.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Crystal's asking, so can we go to this website and
- 27:40Speaker 3: buy products for you?
- 27:41Speaker 1: Yes?
- 27:42Speaker 5: Absolutely, I would absolutely, And we've already bought a ton
- 27:47Speaker 5: of products this year, so if people wanted to make
- 27:50Speaker 5: a nominal donation towards that, I'd also be happy to
- 27:53Speaker 5: tell them what we've purchased because I just bought I
- 27:57Speaker 5: think like two hundred of the books. I bought a
- 28:00Speaker 5: lot of this stuff in bulk because it's you know,
- 28:04Speaker 5: it makes more sense. Yeah, but we're doing eight daycares
- 28:08Speaker 5: this month, so I think we'll get you know, fifty
- 28:12Speaker 5: bags out to those families, which is going to be great,
- 28:15Speaker 5: trying to step into the daycares a little bit more
- 28:19Speaker 5: because they're younger, and then they're going to bring that
- 28:21Speaker 5: stuff home to their families sure, versus at school where
- 28:24Speaker 5: it's a little bit distracting, and I'm kind of like
- 28:26Speaker 5: imposing that on the teachers and the staff.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I've got the the link for the Mama
- 28:32Speaker 3: Bear effect right in the comments right here.
- 28:36Speaker 1: That's a great website.
- 28:37Speaker 3: But this calendar that you have, let's hit a few
- 28:43Speaker 3: others here. You've got several things actually happening over at
- 28:47Speaker 3: the Pub in Williamstown. Yes, two dollars off a pizza
- 28:52Speaker 3: at the pub on the twenty fifth. This is just
- 28:55Speaker 3: one of several half priced wings. The Roots is doing
- 29:01Speaker 3: the buttermilk biscuit and donut Day.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Yes, fresh and delicious. They're amazing.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Oh there are any carbons in that?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Probably not not on this day, Okay, not on the
- 29:12Speaker 1: twenty eight. Yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 5: And they've got some great seeds and soil there for
- 29:15Speaker 5: Earth Day. They're doing Earth Day there on the twenty second,
- 29:19Speaker 5: and they have some great seeds there that you don't
- 29:21Speaker 5: see at the regular store. So you're a gardener, that's
- 29:25Speaker 5: definitely a cool place to check out.
- 29:31Speaker 3: We as as so many parents and I've been I
- 29:37Speaker 3: have been guilty of it, pretty naive with a lot
- 29:42Speaker 3: of things. Let our guard down so easily and slowly,
- 29:52Speaker 3: but surely I'm learning to not be so trusting of
- 29:57Speaker 3: everything that that I see, that I hear in this world,
- 30:01Speaker 3: and we try to we try to instill that in
- 30:06Speaker 3: our in our kids, to not live always with a
- 30:12Speaker 3: barrier up and and live fearfully, but just to be smart,
- 30:19Speaker 3: just have real awareness and recognize what's what's good, what's
- 30:27Speaker 3: maybe questionable. And you know, and one of the things
- 30:32Speaker 3: that you and I have chatted about in the past
- 30:35Speaker 3: is the world online and how unbelievably, unbelievably dark it
- 30:43Speaker 3: is and how that can come right into what we're
- 30:48Speaker 3: talking about here today. I hear stories. There are stories
- 30:55Speaker 3: that make the headlines, big stories that make the headlines
- 30:58Speaker 3: of kids changing passwords to be able to have their
- 31:05Speaker 3: privacy to communicate with someone that they feel that they
- 31:09Speaker 3: know and trust who is a stranger, and the next
- 31:11Speaker 3: thing you know, they're meeting up with them. And I
- 31:14Speaker 3: mean just the headlines alone that we hear on this stuff,
- 31:19Speaker 3: not to mention all the stories that are happening around
- 31:22Speaker 3: our nation in the world, frankly, with trafficking and things
- 31:29Speaker 3: that are happening that we don't read about or see
- 31:32Speaker 3: or hear in the headlines. This is crazy, crazy stuff.
- 31:37Speaker 5: It is crazy, and it definitely is happening, and it's
- 31:39Speaker 5: happening here. I mean, we have trafficking cases that happen
- 31:42Speaker 5: all through Vermont, and we have you know, plenty of
- 31:47Speaker 5: sexting cases with you know, young kids ten, eleven, twelve,
- 31:56Speaker 5: you know, and we don't it's hard to have those
- 31:58Speaker 5: conversations with our kids. We don't want to think like, oh,
- 32:01Speaker 5: is my twelve year old in their bedroom taking photos
- 32:04Speaker 5: of their body parts?
- 32:05Speaker 1: They could be yea.
- 32:07Speaker 5: And at this point it's not really a matter of
- 32:11Speaker 5: you know, teaching absence never did anything to anybody, So
- 32:15Speaker 5: I think it's really we need to have the conversations
- 32:17Speaker 5: of this is what happens when you do it, like
- 32:19Speaker 5: you might make the choice to do this, And if
- 32:22Speaker 5: you're going to give your child a phone when they're ten,
- 32:24Speaker 5: you should know that you're giving them the opportunity to
- 32:26Speaker 5: do that. And I'm sorry if you don't want me
- 32:31Speaker 5: to say that, but that.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Is that is.
- 32:34Speaker 3: The consequences are permanent there forever, yep. And you as
- 32:39Speaker 3: a parent, no matter how much you love your kid,
- 32:41Speaker 3: you cannot take those consequence consequences away.
- 32:45Speaker 1: No, they're going to be up there.
- 32:46Speaker 5: And you know, some kids are then, you know, really
- 32:51Speaker 5: harming themselves and having some really awful repercussions because of
- 32:55Speaker 5: these things.
- 32:57Speaker 1: So really a lot.
- 32:58Speaker 3: To suicide at the very least mental health problems that
- 33:04Speaker 3: are long standing.
- 33:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Absolutely so.
- 33:07Speaker 5: A lot of the conversations now have turned to like
- 33:10Speaker 5: don't do it, to okay, you did it, Now what
- 33:12Speaker 5: are we going to do?
- 33:14Speaker 1: You know, like what is going to happen?
- 33:16Speaker 5: Like you need to you know, no longer just say
- 33:19Speaker 5: don't do it, because saying that doesn't work. Like if
- 33:22Speaker 5: you take this photo of yourself and you send it
- 33:24Speaker 5: to X y Z people here here is the long
- 33:27Speaker 5: game plan of all these things that could happen.
- 33:30Speaker 3: There's a digital footprint yep forever yep. Absolutely can raise it.
- 33:35Speaker 5: No, no, and once it gets out, I mean, you know,
- 33:39Speaker 5: it just takes one screenshot.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I know of it amazing.
- 33:44Speaker 5: And and a lot of times they are sending it
- 33:47Speaker 5: either to their friends, you know her, their friends in
- 33:48Speaker 5: the moment, and it's so hard to explain to somebody
- 33:53Speaker 5: like this.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Is your best friend.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Now, this is probably not going to be your best friend.
- 33:57Speaker 5: And four four years or four months, I mean now
- 34:00Speaker 5: as adults, like we have loved and lost.
- 34:03Speaker 1: And we know that that's a thing.
- 34:05Speaker 5: But when until you have experienced that over and over again,
- 34:07Speaker 5: you just don't know, and you think that the people
- 34:10Speaker 5: who are telling you are just completely have lost their minds.
- 34:14Speaker 3: I feel like I feel like I'm so glad that
- 34:19Speaker 3: I grew up as a kid. When I grew up, yeah.
- 34:23Speaker 1: No phone.
- 34:24Speaker 5: I got a phone in college and it was like
- 34:26Speaker 5: the Nokia rubber thing with the little antenna.
- 34:31Speaker 1: I remember well, the T nine texting.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, you know. What I keep here at the
- 34:37Speaker 3: studio as a prop is my dad's first cell phone,
- 34:42Speaker 3: first cell phone that ever came out in I think
- 34:46Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure it was nineteen eighty three. Look at this,
- 34:49Speaker 3: I keep it here all the time.
- 34:50Speaker 5: I did have the bag there it is that looks
- 34:52Speaker 5: like the one that was in the big back.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, this is. It weighs about one hundred pounds. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 3: I know. I mean this. Who knew that these things
- 35:04Speaker 3: were going to.
- 35:06Speaker 6: The world rule the world?
- 35:08Speaker 3: Yep? You know, God, I remember, you know, if you
- 35:14Speaker 3: were going to call anyone in Europe, you know, it's
- 35:18Speaker 3: so expensive.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Now, it's like the connectivity. It's the information age, man,
- 35:23Speaker 3: Everybody's connected all over the planet, and it's so dangerous.
- 35:27Speaker 1: It can be for sure, very very tricky.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's super convenient. But our kids are
- 35:32Speaker 3: falling victim to a lot of this stuff making. I mean, listen,
- 35:36Speaker 3: plenty of adults make horrifically bad decisions, but as a kid, man,
- 35:42Speaker 3: you know, it's like you're growing up. You haven't your
- 35:45Speaker 3: brain hasn't developed you.
- 35:47Speaker 5: You're not even given the chance to make the bad decision.
- 35:49Speaker 5: If I'm on Instagram at ten thirty at night, I
- 35:51Speaker 5: know I shouldn't be doing it, you know. I mean,
- 35:53Speaker 5: I have a block on my own phone, so sure
- 35:56Speaker 5: that I can't do that. So if I can't, if
- 35:58Speaker 5: I have to block my own phone, yeah, to get
- 36:00Speaker 5: off social media, so I'm not bombarding my friends with reels.
- 36:04Speaker 5: Sure at ten thirty laughing myself, you know, like thinking,
- 36:10Speaker 5: pulling myself that this is my great and my great
- 36:12Speaker 5: healthy nighttime routine.
- 36:13Speaker 3: You said just like Charyline. You sound just like Sharylon. Yeah,
- 36:18Speaker 3: I know I can't do it.
- 36:20Speaker 1: They're not gonna be able to.
- 36:21Speaker 3: I know it's this, it's crazy, But what you guys
- 36:24Speaker 3: are doing is you're you're bridging a gap. I mean,
- 36:27Speaker 3: you're you're also protecting kids, and you're also dealing with
- 36:31Speaker 3: an awful lot of it's happened. What do we do now?
- 36:37Speaker 3: How do we how do we pick up the pieces
- 36:40Speaker 3: and move forward and try to repair as much damage
- 36:44Speaker 3: as possible. But you're also bridging a gap with with
- 36:48Speaker 3: your community, and this is going to have like big
- 36:53Speaker 3: time residual effect on kids in a positive way. I
- 36:56Speaker 3: hope just this one thing that you're doing, I hope.
- 36:59Speaker 1: So, I hope.
- 36:59Speaker 5: So this is our first time doing April like this.
- 37:01Speaker 5: I'm hopeful that next year we'll get some more businesses involved,
- 37:06Speaker 5: because I mean we've probably spent close to three thousand
- 37:10Speaker 5: dollars on the prevention materials, so you know, it would
- 37:15Speaker 5: be it is my hope not to use this as
- 37:18Speaker 5: a fundraising tool, but to use it to pay for
- 37:21Speaker 5: the prevention materials, so, you know, because that stuff is expensive.
- 37:27Speaker 5: I mean you're on the website. A book is six dollars,
- 37:31Speaker 5: you know. So if I want every child to have
- 37:34Speaker 5: a book that they can actually take home versus just
- 37:36Speaker 5: giving them a flyer that's going to end up at.
- 37:37Speaker 1: The bottom of their car, sure right right.
- 37:40Speaker 5: I mean I want them to have something that they're
- 37:42Speaker 5: going to actually look at and that is going to
- 37:45Speaker 5: be of use and that.
- 37:47Speaker 1: When the parents are reading it.
- 37:48Speaker 5: I mean, I have tried so many of these books,
- 37:51Speaker 5: and I'm changing them as I go because I just
- 37:54Speaker 5: don't like how they read interesting. So, you know, I
- 37:58Speaker 5: want to anything that I'm sending out is something that
- 38:01Speaker 5: I would give to my four year old and or
- 38:03Speaker 5: that she would enjoy and actually use.
- 38:06Speaker 1: And if it.
- 38:07Speaker 5: Doesn't pass the test, I'm not gonna I'm not going
- 38:10Speaker 5: to spend the time and the money and the effort
- 38:11Speaker 5: on it because I don't want it to end up
- 38:14Speaker 5: in the bottom of somebody's car.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Yeah, just the the number of businesses here. By the way,
- 38:21Speaker 3: get on our House of Central Vermont on Facebook. Yes,
- 38:28Speaker 3: website our house VT. I wrote it down our house
- 38:33Speaker 3: VT dot org.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I think so, yep, yep.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Our No, it's our house, Central VT.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Yeah, we had to change lost my domains.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Yes, our house Central VT dot com. Link it up
- 38:47Speaker 3: here in a second. Get on that. Get on the
- 38:49Speaker 3: Facebook page.
- 38:50Speaker 5: The Facebook page is very active, and I've been trying
- 38:52Speaker 5: to actively link all of this stuff in the calendar
- 38:55Speaker 5: every day as well, so that if you don't have
- 38:57Speaker 5: the calendar you can just go.
- 39:01Speaker 1: And find the link itself.
- 39:03Speaker 5: The training Consent and Healthy Boundaries link should be up
- 39:06Speaker 5: there already today. So trying to stay active on there.
- 39:11Speaker 5: But I am very active on there. So if somebody
- 39:13Speaker 5: doesn't want to email me and they're in Facebook, they
- 39:15Speaker 5: can send a message or just literally my cell phone
- 39:20Speaker 5: is on that calendar.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Caller text me anytime.
- 39:24Speaker 3: All right. And businesses that are not on this this calendar,
- 39:32Speaker 3: this April fundraiser. Who what we're saying here? Who are
- 39:37Speaker 3: listening or hearing this and saying I want to help
- 39:39Speaker 3: out on and make a donation easy to do?
- 39:41Speaker 1: Yes? Please please please.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Our house Central VT dot com.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Yep, call me anytime.
- 39:47Speaker 5: I'm happy to you know link, I'm happy to a
- 39:50Speaker 5: link you in on this fundraiser if you want in.
- 39:52Speaker 5: I'm happy to do a certain event at your place
- 39:55Speaker 5: of business. Happy to bring you something special, you know,
- 39:58Speaker 5: if you want to pick a certain day in May,
- 40:00Speaker 5: you know, like I'm happy to bring supplies to team
- 40:04Speaker 5: up at any at any point. Awareness really awareness and
- 40:09Speaker 5: talking about it more. You know, it's a hard topic
- 40:11Speaker 5: and I think the more we talk about it, to me,
- 40:13Speaker 5: it's second.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Nature to have these conversations and that's because I do
- 40:17Speaker 1: it all the time.
- 40:18Speaker 5: So I think the more we speak about it and
- 40:20Speaker 5: have it be second nature to have these talks, the better.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Why don't we plan to have something right here right here?
- 40:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 40:27Speaker 3: We could at the studio absolutely. I don't know. We'll
- 40:31Speaker 3: talk off the air about exactly when. But let's let's
- 40:34Speaker 3: do something right here. I mean, look, we're right on
- 40:36Speaker 3: the artery here, absolutely, and we have these things Microsoft
- 40:42Speaker 3: all right, we're going to plan that out. Okay, perfect.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Should we put your email in the comments?
- 40:49Speaker 1: Yep?
- 40:49Speaker 3: Tell me what that is?
- 40:50Speaker 1: It is. It's kind of long. It's our house Bury
- 40:56Speaker 1: director at email.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Okay, I just uh just put it in there, okay,
- 41:10Speaker 3: our Housebury director at email dot com. That's it. And
- 41:14Speaker 3: that's going to go to you.
- 41:15Speaker 1: That's going to come directly to me.
- 41:16Speaker 5: And I only have my phone block that night, so
- 41:19Speaker 5: i'll get it any time.
- 41:22Speaker 3: As we discussed, that's the best way to get you.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and my phone is fine too.
- 41:26Speaker 3: People can do you want to put that out?
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fine. I have it right on the calendar.
- 41:29Speaker 5: For that exact reason, I want people to be able
- 41:31Speaker 5: to what is my it is? Eight oh two six
- 41:35Speaker 5: two two eight two one hold on eight oh two
- 41:40Speaker 5: six two two.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Zero eight two one yeap zero eight two one yep, okay.
- 41:52Speaker 5: And that is our office cell, so anybody can get
- 41:55Speaker 5: a hold of us at any time there call text.
- 41:57Speaker 5: We got to we change it from a landline to
- 41:59Speaker 5: an to a cell phone because sometimes people just you know,
- 42:03Speaker 5: need to text instead of talk.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, eight two to one, yep, all right. I
- 42:11Speaker 3: just want to make sure I got it in there
- 42:14Speaker 3: and that goes directly you yep. Anyone who wants to
- 42:17Speaker 3: help out with anything. Yes, absolutely, April or beyond.
- 42:22Speaker 1: April or beyond. I mean we're there all.
- 42:25Speaker 5: The time, okay, So absolutely when April is done, we'll
- 42:29Speaker 5: be we'll still be needing to spread awareness and fundraise
- 42:33Speaker 5: and do all the things.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Come May first, okay, Okay. In the meantime, when we
- 42:40Speaker 3: get on this this calendar here, which I'm going to
- 42:43Speaker 3: show again, this calendar is right on the Facebook page. Yes,
- 42:49Speaker 3: is that where we can click on each day and
- 42:51Speaker 3: it bang, it comes right out.
- 42:53Speaker 5: It kind of depends on your phone, I think. So
- 42:55Speaker 5: I've linked it as the PDF, I've linked it as
- 42:57Speaker 5: the live link. I've tried to put it up there
- 42:59Speaker 5: a couple different ways, okay, because it is a PDF
- 43:04Speaker 5: with links.
- 43:05Speaker 1: So you know.
- 43:07Speaker 3: But it's on the website too.
- 43:08Speaker 1: It's on the website.
- 43:09Speaker 5: It's it should be everywhere, all right, and I have
- 43:12Speaker 5: linked the direct link, so it should. It's done through Canva,
- 43:16Speaker 5: so when you click on it with your phone and
- 43:18Speaker 5: might say like you're being sent to Canva. Okay, so
- 43:22Speaker 5: there might be that transition sure when it opens up,
- 43:25Speaker 5: but then it should open up and you should be
- 43:27Speaker 5: able to click on.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Everything is live linked.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Look at these these businesses that have teamed up with you.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:34Speaker 5: The only live link I didn't have was the Outer
- 43:36Speaker 5: Spice Cafe and that's a cafe over in playing Field
- 43:39Speaker 5: and they're going to have jars on their counter just
- 43:42Speaker 5: specifically through that weekend and they're not live linked. But
- 43:49Speaker 5: everything else is live linked, either to the business itself
- 43:53Speaker 5: or to the specific training.
- 43:56Speaker 3: This is really good stuff. I'm so glad you reached
- 44:00Speaker 3: out to me. I'm so glad you're you're on the
- 44:03Speaker 3: air here. There's so much more to talk about. Anytime

- 44:52Speaker 3: you know what the results of Will this be an
- 44:54Speaker 3: annual thing? You think?
- 44:55Speaker 1: I think so? Yeah, I think so.
- 44:57Speaker 5: I'm hoping that, you know, I got the couple businesses
- 45:00Speaker 5: this time. I'm hoping that, you know, we can really
- 45:03Speaker 5: make it into kind of a bigger thing next time around.
- 45:06Speaker 5: Maybe add a few more in there. Okay, because you know,
- 45:09Speaker 5: this is a good time of year two for people.
- 45:12Speaker 5: Hopefully this weekend this we're going to do the turn
- 45:14Speaker 5: into spring, so there'll be people will be wanting to
- 45:17Speaker 5: be out and about and.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Eat and all that kind of stuff.
- 45:20Speaker 3: This is great stuff. I love this. I love this
- 45:23Speaker 3: kind of stuff. Thank you for our community. We need it.

- 45:29Speaker 3: stuff on the air, We do some complaining, we do
- 45:33Speaker 3: a lot of goofing around, but we also get on
- 45:38Speaker 3: some pretty important stuff. And this is definitely right at that,
