- 1:00Speaker 1: So not everyone, but majority majority people wonder if we don't. Okay,
- 1:06Speaker 1: we got a lot to talk about today. But first off,
- 1:09Speaker 1: we are currently rocking our old mics. But as we
- 1:12Speaker 1: mentioned before, we did get an upgrade. So what we're
- 1:15Speaker 1: gonna do right now so you can hear the difference.
- 1:17Speaker 1: This is the old microphones hell, and we're gonna rock
- 1:21Speaker 1: into the new ones. Nicole, you want to give us
- 1:22Speaker 1: a countdown?
- 1:23Speaker 2: Three, two, one, and.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Here we are the new mics. Boom, How do we sound?
- 1:31Speaker 2: Does that sound better to you?
- 1:33Speaker 1: It is delicious?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Is it beautiful? It's like the sound of birds singing.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Three little oh my doorstep?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Oh is that like the song? Yeah, it's gonna be okay,
- 1:50Speaker 2: all right's gonna be right that Marley. Yeah, but then
- 1:56Speaker 2: I was a reading. I was obsessed. Actually, I freaking
- 2:00Speaker 2: had it on replay.
- 2:02Speaker 1: The original is better. Anyways, Anyway, we had a lot
- 2:05Speaker 1: to talk about today, guys, so hopefully we're going to
- 2:08Speaker 1: keep this short. We try to keep it under like
- 2:11Speaker 1: five minutes usually.
- 2:12Speaker 2: We do try.
- 2:13Speaker 1: We'll see if we can keep that today. But we
- 2:16Speaker 1: announced on Instagram and Facebook we reached fifty thousand downloads officially.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Wild today, Like blows my mind.
- 2:25Speaker 1: It's insane.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I never would have imagined this.
- 2:28Speaker 1: So you guys are absolutely amazing. Thank you so much
- 2:30Speaker 1: for all your incredible support. It means literally the world
- 2:34Speaker 1: to us. Yeah, so thank you so much. And we
- 2:37Speaker 1: look forward to the next fifty however long that takes,
- 2:40Speaker 1: who knows, but we look forward to the future of
- 2:41Speaker 1: Wicked and Graham with all of you. So thank you
- 2:43Speaker 1: very much.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Oh, it's just so exciting and pumped, so pumped. Yes,
- 2:47Speaker 2: from our posts that we put out, we got so
- 2:49Speaker 2: much love on it.
- 2:50Speaker 1: We did on Instagram. Yeah, you got the Instagram in.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Your So I'm just gonna like read two of them
- 2:55Speaker 2: because it's just like so exciting. So the first one
- 2:59Speaker 2: came from Danny d l T and she said, you
- 3:04Speaker 2: two deserve all the success. You're amazing at storytelling and
- 3:08Speaker 2: entertaining while giving all the facts and being genuine.
- 3:13Speaker 1: We genuinely appreciate.
- 3:14Speaker 2: That you really do. We actually think you're awesome, so awesome.
- 3:18Speaker 2: And this next one is from Zoe. I don't know
- 3:21Speaker 2: if I should try to pronounce your last name, but
- 3:22Speaker 2: you know we're parable pronouncing pronunciation McDonald McDonald. I hope
- 3:28Speaker 2: I'm saying that right, Zoe. She goes, y'all totally earned it.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Us in Texas love your podcast.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Up here in Canada. We love y'all in Texas.
- 3:39Speaker 2: We love you y'all. Y'all, y'all listeners, thank you for
- 3:44Speaker 2: tuning in.
- 3:45Speaker 1: We love y'all.
- 3:46Speaker 2: A how's that? Oh my god? That's like yeah, joining
- 3:51Speaker 2: both love it, best of both worlds. I love it
- 3:54Speaker 2: so thank you honestly, Okay, we try to like reply
- 3:58Speaker 2: to all the comments or at least like them. I
- 4:00Speaker 2: think we reply to most of them, but it honestly
- 4:02Speaker 2: like makes surday. It makes surday when people are like
- 4:05Speaker 2: commenting armor posts.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And we get messages dms on Instagram, Facebook comments, we
- 4:11Speaker 1: have emails coming in and on our website we have
- 4:14Speaker 1: messages coming in, but we don't check some of those
- 4:16Speaker 1: nearly as often, but we do check them and we
- 4:18Speaker 1: will get to all of them at least eventually. So
- 4:21Speaker 1: and yeah, thank you guys. Will reply to you. If
- 4:24Speaker 1: we haven't replied yet, we will eventually.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I actually love replying. It's fun.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It is. We got something else coming down the pipe,
- 4:30Speaker 1: which is really cool to announce.
- 4:31Speaker 2: What's that bench?
- 4:32Speaker 1: We actually had someone specifically request this actually as an episode.
- 4:37Speaker 2: For what we're doing today.
- 4:39Speaker 1: No, not the one we're doing today.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Oh, sorry, the announcement. Sorry, yes, I get it.
- 4:44Speaker 1: So we had someone, I think it was two days
- 4:46Speaker 1: ago or yesterday, request that we do the Highways tiers
- 4:50Speaker 1: as an episode.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yes, I saw that. Yep.
- 4:54Speaker 1: What's really cool is we live, well, it's not really cool,
- 4:58Speaker 1: but it's you'll where I'm going. High Way of Tears
- 5:02Speaker 1: isn't cool, but we live right at the beginning of
- 5:05Speaker 1: the Highway of Tears, which heads over to the west
- 5:09Speaker 1: coast of Canada from our city. Prince George, Prince George
- 5:13Speaker 1: to Prince Rupert, and that's a stretch of Highway. We
- 5:16Speaker 1: are going to do an episode. We are already planning that.
- 5:19Speaker 2: However, it's a little different of an episode.
- 5:22Speaker 1: It's a way different of an episode, way different. We
- 5:25Speaker 1: are doing a full length, one hour documentary. We got
- 5:29Speaker 1: funding to produce a wicked and grim documentary and we
- 5:34Speaker 1: are focusing on the Highway of Tears. So you are
- 5:38Speaker 1: definitely going to get your episode for Highway of Tears.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It might take a while, but it's going to be
- 5:44Speaker 1: it's going to be a video. It's going to be
- 5:46Speaker 1: a movie, yeah, which is so cool. We are stoked.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Yeah, starring us.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Staring us. I'm dreading diving into that one a little
- 5:55Speaker 1: bit because it's done.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah, honestly, but I'm kind of excited because I it
- 6:00Speaker 2: is so close to us, and I honestly don't know
- 6:02Speaker 2: enough about it, so I I'm wanting to learn more.
- 6:05Speaker 1: It is one of those ones that's kind of swept
- 6:06Speaker 1: under the rug a lot too, which is kind of sad.
- 6:09Speaker 1: So Yeah, Originally we're actually going to do a different
- 6:14Speaker 1: documentary on another missing person's case, but the family got
- 6:17Speaker 1: in contact with us and we're like, you know, we're
- 6:19Speaker 1: not too sure if we want this documentary to go
- 6:21Speaker 1: focus on it. So we're like, Okay, we're going to
- 6:23Speaker 1: do the Highway of Tears, because before it was this
- 6:25Speaker 1: missing person with the Highway of Tears undertone. Now we're
- 6:28Speaker 1: going to do the Highway of Tears, and we are
- 6:31Speaker 1: going to involve that missing person a little bit as well.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So we are involving everyone. But the nice thing is
- 6:35Speaker 1: now we are highlighting the Highway of Tears in the documentary, which.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I think is a really good thing to probably talk
- 6:41Speaker 2: about and highlight definitely. Yeah, like it needs to get
- 6:44Speaker 2: out there more. Yeah, so how exciting.
- 6:47Speaker 1: So yeah, do we have any other announcements? Is there
- 6:49Speaker 1: anything else? I don't know, Like so much.
- 6:53Speaker 2: As I feel like pump sitting here, I was like
- 6:57Speaker 2: so tired before we started this, and I'm just like,
- 7:00Speaker 2: let's do it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Okay. Every time we turn on the mics, suddenly like
- 7:04Speaker 1: it's almost like the weird flip switches, because like I'm
- 7:07Speaker 1: sitting here, I was just painting downstairs and you were
- 7:09Speaker 1: sending an email and we're like, oh, work sucks, we
- 7:12Speaker 1: gotta do the podcast tonight. That's gonna be fun, blah blah,
- 7:15Speaker 1: And then the moment we sat down and the mics
- 7:17Speaker 1: turned on and we're just like testing her audio levels,
- 7:20Speaker 1: like behind the scenes. You guys don't hear that part.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You should hear that part that we're larious.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Maybe for patrons one day, but anyways, as soon as
- 7:27Speaker 1: those mics go hot, it's it's like the ship show
- 7:31Speaker 1: just starts right up. Energy levels just jump.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So we are definitely happy to be away from painting
- 7:37Speaker 1: and emails.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah, so clearly we enjoyed this. Yeah, if you didn't know.
- 7:41Speaker 1: O, can you talk a little bit. I've been talking
- 7:43Speaker 1: a lot. Any news, any news.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Any news. I just want to listen to this case.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Oh okay, really quickly before we do go to the case,
- 7:53Speaker 1: I did want to touch one more thing.
- 7:54Speaker 2: You're like, chatty Cathy tonight.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Well I sorry, let's go.
- 7:59Speaker 2: What is it?
- 7:59Speaker 1: Okay? Everyone always guesses our.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Hintsome Yeah, people are so good.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Like you guys are insanely good.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Guess so good.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I tried to make it a little bit more difficult
- 8:10Speaker 1: on the last post for this case.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah it didn't work.
- 8:14Speaker 1: No, instantly people knew what it was. So Nicole is
- 8:18Speaker 1: doing next episode, and I think we should see if
- 8:21Speaker 1: we can really test people.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Oh okay, well, maybe I could put something up tonight
- 8:26Speaker 2: because I don't even know what the episode is on,
- 8:28Speaker 2: and then they can guess because no one will get
- 8:32Speaker 2: it right then, because I don't even know what the
- 8:33Speaker 2: heck I'm doing next week.
- 8:35Speaker 1: So you're just going to post something random that doesn't
- 8:37Speaker 1: even make sense that it's a joke. You're just going
- 8:40Speaker 1: to post an image of a car.
- 8:42Speaker 2: No one will get it right.
- 8:44Speaker 1: It's because it's probably just our car sitting in the driveway.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Oh that's like, don't let's not do that. That's like
- 8:51Speaker 2: a bad omen. Yeah yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, Well I'm
- 8:55Speaker 2: going to figure out what I'm going to dive into
- 8:57Speaker 2: and then yeah, maybe I'll do I'll do.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Something we should like, do it. I know for my
- 9:03Speaker 1: next case, I'm doing something seriously obscure.
- 9:05Speaker 2: So that's what we're the game. We're going to start playing.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Well all the time a little bit. I want to
- 9:10Speaker 1: test people. I want to see if I can push
- 9:11Speaker 1: their limits. Like this case. I thought I picked an
- 9:14Speaker 1: obscure case.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't even know much about this case.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And you are like, I don't think that was very hard.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Well no it wasn't, but still I thought it was
- 9:25Speaker 1: an obscure case. When I first picked it. Yeah, and
- 9:28Speaker 1: then once I started researching them, Like, there are so
- 9:30Speaker 1: many articles, there are so many documentaries. This is not
- 9:32Speaker 1: an obscure case. So I thought putting the boat with
- 9:37Speaker 1: the back of it just the name showing yea was enough.
- 9:40Speaker 1: But the back door was opened, the name was kind
- 9:42Speaker 1: of cut off, so like maybe people won't really see
- 9:44Speaker 1: the name and they'll have to look at the smaller
- 9:45Speaker 1: boat to really see the name. It might might have
- 9:47Speaker 1: been harder, but clearly not. So, Yeah, this is a
- 9:50Speaker 1: higher profile case and people got it really easy.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Okay, Well I'm going to We'll try next week again.
- 9:57Speaker 2: We'll just keep trying until no one can get it. Okay, deal, Okay,
- 10:01Speaker 2: let's go.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Okay. So this is the case of Thomas and Jackie Hawks.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Okay, Thomas and Jackie.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Now they were a couple from Prescott, Arizona in the
- 10:12Speaker 1: United States, which is a city of like forty two
- 10:14Speaker 1: thousand people. It's just north of Like, I didn't write
- 10:20Speaker 1: down the city name. I wrote down Arizona. It's just
- 10:23Speaker 1: north of Arizona. Apparently, No, it's in Arizona anyways, it's
- 10:27Speaker 1: in Arizona.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I didn't write down the city that works. Okay. Anyways,
- 10:31Speaker 1: it's a city in the States, forty two thousand people population, Okay.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Thomas was a fifty seven year old bodybuilder and former
- 10:40Speaker 1: probation officer with two sons from a previous marriage. Okay,
- 10:44Speaker 1: and his wife, Jackie, was forty seven, who was also retired,
- 10:48Speaker 1: and she spent her recent years taking care of the
- 10:50Speaker 1: family with Thomas's adolescent sons.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Oh so she took care of his sons yep.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Okay, So she wasn't like their biological mother, but they
- 10:59Speaker 1: were living with him, and she was just like she
- 11:01Speaker 1: was the good step mom sort of.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Yeah, forty seven to be retired, that's awesome.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yeah, they were like a seriously hard working couple. Okay.
- 11:09Speaker 1: They made sure they worked hard for their retirement and
- 11:13Speaker 1: they earned it.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Sort of awesome.
- 11:15Speaker 1: They were also like extremely dedicated to one another. Like
- 11:18Speaker 1: I said, they earned their retirement. And when the day
- 11:20Speaker 1: finally came when Thomas's kids were actually out of the
- 11:23Speaker 1: house and on their own, because they weren't too young, right, Like,
- 11:26Speaker 1: they were still living at home. It's not she was
- 11:28Speaker 1: taking care of them, but she was taking care of
- 11:29Speaker 1: the house sort of thing, right, you know what I mean?
- 11:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:31Speaker 1: So once they were out of the house and on
- 11:33Speaker 1: their own, they decided they wanted an inventure. Okay, something
- 11:38Speaker 1: that many people want, but only very few people ever
- 11:42Speaker 1: actually do. They went out and they purchased themselves a
- 11:46Speaker 1: fifty five foot yacht and christened it the Well Deserved.
- 11:52Speaker 2: That's actually not on my list, but it is for
- 11:55Speaker 2: a lot of people. Yeah, I can imagine, but I'm
- 11:57Speaker 2: just like terrified of the ocean. Scary shit down there,
- 12:01Speaker 2: like and a lot of things that you don't even
- 12:02Speaker 2: think we know that are down there.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Oh definitely. So well, I know what's the percentage there's
- 12:07Speaker 1: there's a very high percentage. It's like ninety five percent
- 12:10Speaker 1: of the world's ocean is unexplored or something like that.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Oh boy, yeah, no, I don't.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Know if it's actually ninety percent. I'm pretty sure it's
- 12:17Speaker 1: above eighty. But yeah, that's too crazy percentage.
- 12:21Speaker 2: That's too high.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Like there literally could be a cracking out in the ocean,
- 12:27Speaker 1: a giant squid that just like takes shit.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Honestly, there probably is. It wouldn't even surprise me.
- 12:33Speaker 1: There's probably also like a disco fish that just like
- 12:35Speaker 1: lights shine in different directions for like a.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Party Oh boy, there's just probably I bet you could
- 12:40Speaker 2: just everything under there, under.
- 12:43Speaker 1: A sea, undert a sea. We got to watch a
- 12:47Speaker 1: Little Mermaid. It's been a while. It's a good show.
- 12:49Speaker 2: It is a good show.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It's an amazing show.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Anyway, was I why were you staring at me?
- 12:56Speaker 1: Like?
- 12:56Speaker 2: That was also safe?
- 12:58Speaker 1: You were staring at me though too. I looked at
- 13:01Speaker 1: you looked at me, and it was just silent, and
- 13:03Speaker 1: I was like, that's just how I look.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Thanks, Okay, holy keep going.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Regardless of my looks. They went out and purchased their
- 13:13Speaker 1: fifty five foot yacht and christened it the Well Deserved.
- 13:16Speaker 1: They treated this as their permanent home and residence. Okay,
- 13:20Speaker 1: they actually lived on the water.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Oh see that school, I could live on the water,
- 13:24Speaker 2: which is that's fucked up.
- 13:26Speaker 1: That's weird, weird, that's ass backwards.
- 13:29Speaker 2: But whatever, just like on a houseboat or something that
- 13:31Speaker 2: stalked But okay, carry on, sorry, okay.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Well, they upgraded the boat. They installed everything they would
- 13:37Speaker 1: ever need, and they kept it maintained meticulously. It was
- 13:41Speaker 1: a perfect boat for their perfect life. They sailed for
- 13:45Speaker 1: two years around the Pacific Ocean in the Gulf of California,
- 13:49Speaker 1: like They didn't just park it. They sailed. They lived
- 13:54Speaker 1: the life on sea. Now there's home videos. They did lots.
- 13:58Speaker 1: It took lots of pictures, and you can actually find
- 14:01Speaker 1: footage of like dolphins swimming alongside their boat orca is
- 14:05Speaker 1: going along. And there's even one shot that I saw
- 14:08Speaker 1: in a documentary of Thomas swimming out in the water
- 14:11Speaker 1: with dolphins. Wild dolphins.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Really, Hey, ballsy dude, Okay, yeah, that would just make
- 14:18Speaker 2: me want to pee my pants.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Yeah, so if you ever want to go swimming with dolphins,
- 14:24Speaker 1: maybe go for it. But I don't recommend it. We
- 14:27Speaker 1: won't ever do.
- 14:28Speaker 2: It, probably not. I don't think that's something I'd ever do.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Well, clearly they did, but.
- 14:32Speaker 2: That's living on the wild side. I do it.
- 14:34Speaker 1: It is they lived on the wild side. They literally
- 14:36Speaker 1: fully embraced the whole, like ocean life, the sailor life.
- 14:39Speaker 1: They moved from port to port, making the best of
- 14:42Speaker 1: like each stay, and they enjoyed literally every minute they
- 14:46Speaker 1: did more their boat at its regular home in an
- 14:50Speaker 1: upscale neighborhood and a ritzy Newport beach in California when
- 14:54Speaker 1: they weren't outsailing the ocean, so mooring it is literally
- 14:57Speaker 1: parking it, you know, dropping an anchor in the bay
- 14:59Speaker 1: sort of thing.
- 15:00Speaker 2: They're like quite well off, obviously.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Not necessarily they put all their money into the boat.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Okay, just kind of sounds like they.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Are they saved and they earned it, but they weren't
- 15:10Speaker 1: like super rich or anything. Okay, But eventually, after two years,
- 15:15Speaker 1: they decided it was time to say farewell to their
- 15:17Speaker 1: sea life and set down roots once again. Oh well,
- 15:22Speaker 1: the decision didn't didn't come because they were like growing
- 15:25Speaker 1: tired of life in the water or sailing or anything.
- 15:28Speaker 1: It came because one of Thomas's sons had just become
- 15:30Speaker 1: a dad, and Thomas and Jackie were now grandparents, so
- 15:34Speaker 1: they wanted to sell the beloved well deserved to move
- 15:38Speaker 1: back to Arizona and be closer to family. That makes sense, Yeah, totally,
- 15:43Speaker 1: So in two thousand and four they decided to sell
- 15:46Speaker 1: the boat, just like a house, though with realtors and stuff.
- 15:50Speaker 1: There's like brokers and fees to pay. Oh really, they
- 15:54Speaker 1: weren't the most well off. All their money was in
- 15:56Speaker 1: the boat, so to avoid that, they decided to go
- 15:59Speaker 1: private sitells. So they avoided that like commission costs sort of.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Thing, you know, okay, which I feel like a lot
- 16:06Speaker 2: of people think about doing.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Oh definitely, we thought about doing it with our house.
- 16:09Speaker 2: We did think about doing it with the house. Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 1: So yeah, they didn't go through a boat broker. They
- 16:15Speaker 1: did it through private sale, which a lot of retired
- 16:18Speaker 1: people do. The pinched in the pennies, right, retired, you
- 16:20Speaker 1: don't have that income.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Well also like you may have more time too if
- 16:23Speaker 2: you're retired, right too, Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 1: To sell it to do that? Yeah, So they put
- 16:27Speaker 1: out ads in papers and even actually in boating magazines
- 16:30Speaker 1: such as Yachting World magazine. Okay, and the ad read
- 16:35Speaker 1: nineteen eighty lean HWA trawler fifty five foot by fifteen
- 16:41Speaker 1: feet and eight inches one, three hundred and fifty fuel,
- 16:45Speaker 1: outstanding condition, crews, ready, everything imaginable, four thousand, three hundred, sorry,
- 16:51Speaker 1: four hundred and thirty five thousand dollars moored in Newport
- 16:55Speaker 1: Beach by owner. So that was the add a lot.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I have no idea what boat's going half.
- 17:02Speaker 1: A million dollars in two thousand and four for.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's in nineteen eighty yeah, so.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I'm not too sure if that's a lot for the
- 17:08Speaker 1: boat specifically, But I mean that is good change.
- 17:11Speaker 2: There's a lot of money.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but that is literally that's their equity right there.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Right, totally, Yeah, they need that.
- 17:19Speaker 1: So it didn't take long before the boat had a
- 17:22Speaker 1: potential buyer, Skyler. Delhion was a twenty five year old
- 17:26Speaker 1: and was interested in the well deserved. Skyler said that
- 17:30Speaker 1: they had cash and lots of it, and claimed the
- 17:32Speaker 1: money came from being a child actor in real estate investments.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Did they google that shit?
- 17:39Speaker 1: What do you mean? Google that shit? Google what shit?
- 17:42Speaker 2: Child is he? Actually? If he's was a child actor,
- 17:45Speaker 2: you could google that he was actually a child Oh
- 17:49Speaker 2: he actually was.
- 17:49Speaker 1: He was.
- 17:51Speaker 2: I'm already think of this dude's sketch, but maybe he's
- 17:53Speaker 2: not even a sketcherson.
- 17:55Speaker 1: He boasted a lot about being on the Power Rangers
- 17:57Speaker 1: when he was younger, about being a child star and
- 18:00Speaker 1: Power Rangers. However, his role on Power Rangers was extremely minimal,
- 18:04Speaker 1: Like he was just a bit part for like an episode.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Oh but he was on the Power Ring.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yes, exactly exactly, That's exactly how he played it up.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I get into that a little bit more later on. Okay,
- 18:16Speaker 1: So immediately, Thomas, though was suspicious as a former probation officer.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Something wasn't right about this and the cash in hand
- 18:22Speaker 1: was a red flag.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Yeah, well assessially at that age.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and for half a million dollars cash?
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yes, has that just sitting there?
- 18:32Speaker 1: I wish we did.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, actually I get I jump on that bandwagon.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Please give me half a million dollars.
- 18:38Speaker 2: But I put in the bank.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Regardless of being suspicious, though, they did decide to
- 18:44Speaker 1: meet in person. Oh, I clicked something here. Where am I?
- 18:48Speaker 2: Oh?
- 18:48Speaker 1: No, oh, okay, I think I'm good.
- 18:51Speaker 2: You're good.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I think so. Where am I? Though?
- 18:53Speaker 2: Does everything you own have stickers all over it?
- 18:56Speaker 1: Yes?
- 18:56Speaker 2: Okay, because it's looking at your jab with.
- 18:59Speaker 1: The sticker stickers. I love stickers.
- 19:01Speaker 2: You love stickers.
- 19:03Speaker 1: They're fun. Okay.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Did you love stickers as a child, because I did? Yes, Okay.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I like to draw and put stickers and things on
- 19:11Speaker 1: things and stuff and things. Okay. Regardless of the stickers,
- 19:15Speaker 1: they decided to meet in person, and when they did,
- 19:19Speaker 1: Skyler showed up to the meeting with a pregnant wife
- 19:22Speaker 1: named Jennifer de Lyon who was twenty three, and she
- 19:26Speaker 1: had their daughter in a stroller with them.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Okay, so they had a little kid and she was pregnant.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yep, so it was a nice little fan okay.
- 19:35Speaker 2: So yeah, then your your spidey sense would go down, yes.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Most certainly.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 19:41Speaker 1: So the family painted like happy, trustworthy picture and you know,
- 19:46Speaker 1: Jackie and Thomas is just like you said, your spidy
- 19:48Speaker 1: senses go down to. Reservations were at ease.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:53Speaker 1: So the offer was cash in hand and the asking
- 19:55Speaker 1: price was four thousand, sorry four fuck.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Kay saying four thousand, like good deal?
- 19:59Speaker 1: Yeah, one hundred and thirty five thousand, plus an additional
- 20:04Speaker 1: fifteen thousand for some other onboard boat items for a
- 20:08Speaker 1: total of four hundred and fifty thousand, almost said four thousand.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Again, that's a lot of money.
- 20:13Speaker 1: It's a lot of dope. Yeah, it's I wouldn't mind
- 20:17Speaker 1: a chunk of.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Check, especially in two thousand and four or whatever, two
- 20:20Speaker 2: thousand four. Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 1: So only one more thing had to be done though,
- 20:24Speaker 1: before the deal was official, oka a sea trial. Skyler
- 20:28Speaker 1: wanted the Hawks to take them out on the boat
- 20:30Speaker 1: so it could be inspected things like the hull and
- 20:33Speaker 1: the motors to ensure, you know, everything's like in working
- 20:36Speaker 1: order and it's up to par like they say it is, right,
- 20:40Speaker 1: so they decided to schedule a day to take the
- 20:41Speaker 1: boat out, and then when the day arrives, things were
- 20:45Speaker 1: a little bit different.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Okay, I'm very intrigued.
- 20:50Speaker 1: So Thomas and Jackie were expecting Skyler and Jennifer to show, yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 1: but instead it was Skyler with two men, one of
- 20:59Speaker 1: which claimed to be Skyler's accountant.
- 21:02Speaker 2: It was odd, okay, because they would not need to
- 21:06Speaker 2: ride the boat, test drive of the boat an accountant
- 21:08Speaker 2: your accountant, right? No? Yeah?
- 21:11Speaker 1: No, well yeah it was.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I mean, I guess I don't. I just don't think so.
- 21:16Speaker 1: But okay, it's odd. Well they found it odd. So
- 21:20Speaker 1: Skyler and two two men.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Okay, the other dude is nothing, just another dude. One's
- 21:25Speaker 2: an accountant, one's Skyler.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Just a friend or something or something. I never really
- 21:30Speaker 1: found anything of them claiming the second dude was anything,
- 21:33Speaker 1: or saying who he was or nothing. It was just
- 21:36Speaker 1: Skyler and two dudes.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Okay, But would you be alarmed? Because, like, I don't know,
- 21:40Speaker 2: if you were, if we were buying a boat like
- 21:42Speaker 2: you would probably want to more so bring like your
- 21:44Speaker 2: dad to check it out than me. So is that
- 21:48Speaker 2: really like alarming? Would you be alarmed?
- 21:50Speaker 1: I mean maybe because I probably would tell the guy like, hey,
- 21:54Speaker 1: I'm bringing my dad with me, and I'm pretty sure
- 21:56Speaker 1: you would come to.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I would come to.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, so yeah, I mean they it was odd,
- 22:04Speaker 1: but not like crazy weird or anything. So it was
- 22:07Speaker 1: just odd. It's not what they expected. And yeah, okay,
- 22:10Speaker 1: well let's head out in the water.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Something that you would like warn someone in the boat. Yeah, yeah, probably, Okay,
- 22:16Speaker 2: let's do it.
- 22:17Speaker 1: So they went out in the water. Did exactly that.
- 22:19Speaker 1: They went out for the sea trial.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Now, a friend of the Hawks, carter Ford, had evening
- 22:24Speaker 1: plans to meet up with them once they returned from
- 22:26Speaker 1: the sea trial, and as it grew closer to the
- 22:29Speaker 1: meeting time, he received a phone call from Jackie. She
- 22:32Speaker 1: said they weren't sure why they weren't back in the
- 22:35Speaker 1: harbor yet, but that they were still in open water.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Skyler and the men he brought along with them, they
- 22:42Speaker 1: were still trialing the boat and they would and once
- 22:46Speaker 1: they were done, they called carter and just be like, okay,
- 22:48Speaker 1: we're back in boats moored basically like they were taking
- 22:51Speaker 1: their sweet ass time out there.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Okay, but she was on the boat too, She.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Was on the boat. So Jackie and Thomas are both
- 22:56Speaker 1: on the boat and she's like, I don't know why
- 22:57Speaker 1: I'm not back yet. They're still doing their thing. They're
- 22:59Speaker 1: taking the sweet last time. We'll call you when we
- 23:02Speaker 1: get back.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Okay, So the sunset, darkness grew, and it got later
- 23:08Speaker 1: and later and later into the night. Carter never received
- 23:13Speaker 1: that phone call.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Shit, okay, So.
- 23:17Speaker 1: The morning came and they're in the harbor. More than
- 23:21Speaker 1: that spot was the well deserved.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Oh okay, that's good. You would be like, oh, they've
- 23:26Speaker 2: done this.
- 23:27Speaker 1: But Thomas and Jackie were nowhere to be found.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Well, maybe they went out for breakfast.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Some mimosas, some eggs, Benny.
- 23:36Speaker 2: You know, they just sold their boat and they're celebrating,
- 23:40Speaker 2: oh yeah, you know, living it up.
- 23:42Speaker 1: And that's one of the first impressions that a lot
- 23:43Speaker 1: of people had, because their SUV was also missing. So
- 23:46Speaker 1: friends thought that maybe they must have left for a
- 23:48Speaker 1: spontaneous road trip to celebrate the sail of their boat,
- 23:52Speaker 1: or maybe they quickly headed back to Arizona or something
- 23:55Speaker 1: for quick you know, Hurrah trip or who knows what. Yeah,
- 23:59Speaker 1: but they figured, okay, well, they probably just spontaneously.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Took off but they definitely should have like called Carter.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Yeah, which was which was weird that they didn't.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:08Speaker 1: So the days began to roll by and still no
- 24:11Speaker 1: sign of Thomas and Jackie. On top of that, friends
- 24:14Speaker 1: noticed a couple odd things going on here.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Okay, I'm intrigued.
- 24:19Speaker 1: First off, there is a dinghy that goes along with
- 24:24Speaker 1: the Well Deserved. So when the boat is moored out
- 24:26Speaker 1: in the harbor, it's staying on the water, it's anchored,
- 24:29Speaker 1: and then to get to shore, they use the dinghy
- 24:31Speaker 1: to basically taxi back and forth and then tie the
- 24:34Speaker 1: dinghy up at the dock.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, makes sense.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah, the dingy wasn't tied to the dock.
- 24:41Speaker 2: C oh okay, I was like the dingy was gone.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Dingy was there.
- 24:45Speaker 2: He was at the dock, but not tied. He wasn't
- 24:47Speaker 2: tied correctly, not like what a boat or with experience would.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Tie it, not like a meticulous Thomas would do. He
- 24:55Speaker 1: kept very good care of his ship. Everything was in order.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Every not was perfect. This not was far from perfect,
- 25:03Speaker 1: completely incorrect. Not at that it was not right.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Not okay, yeah, that would that would be one thing.
- 25:13Speaker 1: A closer look actually at the boat because friends, you know,
- 25:16Speaker 1: thought this is weird.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Well did they go out into the big boat.
- 25:19Speaker 1: They didn't go into it, but they were like they
- 25:21Speaker 1: boated around and close to it and looking at it.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Oh, they should have gone right in.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I would, Well, it's not their property. Yeah, but that's
- 25:29Speaker 1: breaking and entering into a house, is what that's doing.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Yeah. But if it's your friend and you're like checking.
- 25:34Speaker 1: On, that's still break. What if it's a crime scene,
- 25:36Speaker 1: you're breaking and entering into.
- 25:37Speaker 2: A crimes I would have gone on the boat.
- 25:39Speaker 1: You're going to smash into a friend's door and go
- 25:41Speaker 1: looking for them before calling the cops. I don't know,
- 25:46Speaker 1: I didn't think so, I don't know.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I think that's the same as answer. I'm just gonna
- 25:50Speaker 2: I don't.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Know, so a closer look of the boat, because they
- 25:53Speaker 1: were they're peeking in, like saying, just like seeing if
- 25:55Speaker 1: anyone's parked in the driveway or whatever.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Okay, that's fair.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Sort of thing. It's dry buys, but with a boat, okay.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Showed tarps not covering equipment properly, a motor not put
- 26:06Speaker 1: in the correct position, and a towel hanging out of
- 26:08Speaker 1: an open porthole window. Oh something wasn't right.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of things going on there that
- 26:16Speaker 2: is not right.
- 26:16Speaker 1: They made sure everything was in its place, and everything
- 26:20Speaker 1: was not in its place.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Oh no.
- 26:24Speaker 1: So of course police were called and investigators began looking
- 26:27Speaker 1: into the case, and the first place they did start
- 26:30Speaker 1: was on board the Well Deserved.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Now they had no means of entry, so they had
- 26:34Speaker 1: to break in. But it was investigators. It's for someone's
- 26:37Speaker 1: well being, right, Yeah, So they had every So that's okay.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Apparently it's lot officials.
- 26:43Speaker 1: It's not just some blonde with a glass of wine.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Where the fuck are you? But I'm coming in the
- 26:49Speaker 1: dory some.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Blonde with a glass of wine. Achave me? Yeah, hey,
- 26:54Speaker 2: I'm drinking water. You're the one was always drinking.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I like alcohol, so do you.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I already had a glass of wine tonight. I does
- 27:04Speaker 2: not have another, okay.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I took a step of beer, so I had like
- 27:10Speaker 1: gotta put it down. Okay. So they began looking on
- 27:12Speaker 1: board the Well Deserved and they had no means of entry,
- 27:15Speaker 1: so they broke the lock. Blah blah blah blah, Am
- 27:17Speaker 1: I here okay. So after entering, they almost immediately see,
- 27:23Speaker 1: you know, of course, things are scattered around. Things aren't.
- 27:26Speaker 1: It's not a disaster, no struggle, it's just not well
- 27:29Speaker 1: kept and maintained like it should be.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Okay, like they would have had it. Yes, yeah.
- 27:33Speaker 1: And they also found a receipt laying on the open
- 27:37Speaker 1: floor okay. And the receipt was for a few things.
- 27:43Speaker 1: But among those things was bleach cleaning supplies, trash bags,
- 27:48Speaker 1: oh shit, and thumbs a suspicious shopping lift.
- 27:53Speaker 2: What the the thumbs for? A tummy?
- 27:55Speaker 1: Hold on? Hold on? So a suspicious, suspicious list that
- 27:59Speaker 1: was also dated two days after they went missing. I
- 28:05Speaker 1: think that was just in our headphones. Did you guys
- 28:06Speaker 1: hear a buzz? We just had feedback. I think it
- 28:08Speaker 1: was just our headphones.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I think it's the red lady. She followed us. A shit, shit,
- 28:13Speaker 2: we gotta go. Okay, I'm so intrigued to know what
- 28:19Speaker 2: the fuck the tombs is for. So let's go okay,
- 28:21Speaker 2: let's keep going.
- 28:23Speaker 1: So one of the investigators said this, and I quote,
- 28:29Speaker 1: if I was gonna kill somebody, I'd have my clean
- 28:31Speaker 1: kit and it will be bags to get rid of evidence,
- 28:36Speaker 1: to wipe down the scene, and maybe, if I had
- 28:39Speaker 1: a conscience, some tombs to settle my stomach after killing
- 28:42Speaker 1: some poor people. Oh so that could be what the
- 28:47Speaker 1: tombs are for.
- 28:49Speaker 2: That's interesting. Okay, that's like just something that you well, Okay,
- 28:54Speaker 2: so they were anxious. They might have had like the
- 28:56Speaker 2: shits because they were like nervous about what they are doing.
- 29:00Speaker 2: So they're buying this stuff and then they get buy
- 29:02Speaker 2: tombs too. Yeah, maybe if you're nervous rooms. I don't know.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I think nervous people get the ships.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Well. I think like when I was younger, the first
- 29:09Speaker 1: time I bought condoms, about like twelve other things with
- 29:11Speaker 1: it because I was nervous to buy condoms, you know,
- 29:14Speaker 1: act casual, right, get some chips with it or maybe
- 29:16Speaker 1: a loaf of bread, you know.
- 29:19Speaker 2: I still feel like I'm like that with tampons. Is
- 29:21Speaker 2: so awkward because lots of times when I'm buying tampons,
- 29:24Speaker 2: I'm also buying like chocolate, and they're just like geez.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I don't think that's an awkward thing. I think that's
- 29:32Speaker 1: just a hormonal thing you crave and some chocolate and
- 29:36Speaker 1: some snacky chips, you know. I don't know. I I've
- 29:40Speaker 1: never experienced a period, so I can't say for sure,
- 29:42Speaker 1: but that's gonna be my guess.
- 29:44Speaker 2: That's not the best, that's for sure.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Thank God. I'm a dude. I can pee standing up
- 29:48Speaker 1: and I don't get cramps and bleed.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you're lucky.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I am. I'm lucky. I have you you are w Anyways,
- 30:01Speaker 1: that aside.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Holy let's keep going here.
- 30:04Speaker 1: So friends and family all knew that Thomas and Jackie
- 30:06Speaker 1: were selling the boats. The next step for investigators was
- 30:09Speaker 1: to get a hold of the people who were interested
- 30:11Speaker 1: in making the purchase. Skuyler and Jennifer said that they
- 30:15Speaker 1: had purchased the boat from the owners with cash in full,
- 30:19Speaker 1: and they hadn't seen them since the transaction.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Okay, so they're saying that they at this point they
- 30:24Speaker 2: owned the boat.
- 30:25Speaker 1: It's their boat. They owned the boat, they paid for it.
- 30:28Speaker 1: They don't where Thomas and Jackie are.
- 30:32Speaker 2: That's interesting, Okay, So if.
- 30:34Speaker 1: This is true, there must have been a deposit into
- 30:37Speaker 1: the bank of Thomas and Jackie Hawk.
- 30:39Speaker 2: However, well, not necessarily was cash and they took off.
- 30:43Speaker 1: So are they just running around with half a million
- 30:45Speaker 1: dollars in cash?
- 30:46Speaker 2: They don't see. They don't seem like the kind of
- 30:49Speaker 2: people that would do that.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Definitely not. Yeah, so there was no deposit into the account. Okay.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Other than this, the buyers weren't like the most helpful
- 30:59Speaker 1: or to give a lot of info. They're like, I
- 31:01Speaker 1: don't know we bought the boat. We don't know where
- 31:04Speaker 1: they are. That's about it.
- 31:06Speaker 2: People are missing be helpful. I know that's rude.
- 31:10Speaker 1: So trying to get more information, the investigators began to
- 31:14Speaker 1: stake out the couple and follow them around. Okay, Jackie
- 31:18Speaker 1: was followed to a hair salon where she worked. Should
- 31:20Speaker 1: go in, go about her shift, and go home? Both
- 31:24Speaker 1: the two of them. Jackie and Skyler were both followed
- 31:27Speaker 1: to a church where they volunteered for cleaning inside the church. Oh,
- 31:32Speaker 1: they were living normal lives. They were literally giving no
- 31:35Speaker 1: reason for foul play, any suspicious behavior or nothing.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Okay, so interesting. I wonder if they knew they were
- 31:43Speaker 2: being followed.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I don't think they did. No, they were just living
- 31:46Speaker 1: their life.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Investigators began to dig a little deeper, you know, trying
- 31:51Speaker 1: to find something. There's got to be something. Something's not right.
- 31:53Speaker 1: We have too some people, no evidence of transaction.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Definitely not right.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Definitely not right.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Like, let's get this shit figured out. I hope this
- 32:01Speaker 2: is this is not one of those ones where, oh,
- 32:03Speaker 2: we don't know what's happened.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Oh, we know what's happened.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Okay, thank god, we know what's happened, because I don't
- 32:08Speaker 2: want to deal with that today.
- 32:09Speaker 1: So they dug deeper and they found that the couple
- 32:12Speaker 1: was living in Jackie's parents' garage, which had been converted
- 32:15Speaker 1: into a suite, and that Jackie was actually the breadwinner
- 32:19Speaker 1: of the family and being a hairdresser, it's not like
- 32:23Speaker 1: they're making the money, Skyler claimed. They were.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, yeah, okay for sure, and they're just
- 32:32Speaker 2: living and they're just living in her parents' garage.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yes. Interesting, So those real estate purchases or whatever didn't exist.
- 32:41Speaker 1: And like I said, he was just a bit part
- 32:45Speaker 1: on the Power Rangers show and they were in debt
- 32:48Speaker 1: eighty seven thousand dollars. Oh, not the kind of people
- 32:52Speaker 1: who could afford a yacht.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Yeah with cash?
- 32:55Speaker 1: Yeah, no, thank you. Yeah that's not happening.
- 32:58Speaker 2: No, that is definitely not happening.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Yeah. I skipped over a bit of the Power Rangers
- 33:02Speaker 1: info there because we already covered it all. I just
- 33:04Speaker 1: looked at it. I'm like, oh, we already said it.
- 33:06Speaker 2: But like that's actually true that he was in The
- 33:07Speaker 2: Power Rangers. Yep, Okay, I don't know why, but I'm
- 33:10Speaker 2: just doing I think I think he was in The.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Power Rangers twice for like a total of like three
- 33:15Speaker 1: or four seconds.
- 33:16Speaker 2: No, Like, how much would that even make? You?
- 33:19Speaker 1: Like? Nothing, he probably made like, I don't know, two
- 33:21Speaker 1: hundred bucks or something. Yeah, I have no idea, huh.
- 33:25Speaker 1: And it's not like The Power Rangers was super high budget,
- 33:28Speaker 1: Like it's super cheesy acting. First of all, you claim
- 33:32Speaker 1: you're on the Power Rangers for being acting. It's like,
- 33:34Speaker 1: I mean, that's not like great a acting there. Don't
- 33:38Speaker 1: get me wrong.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I can't even remember. I can't I have like, I mean,
- 33:43Speaker 2: I'm sure I watched the shows, but it's been a while.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I love the Power Rangers. I love them as a kid,
- 33:47Speaker 1: love them now. They're very entertaining, athletic people. The costume
- 33:52Speaker 1: design was great, but it was cheesy. It was cheesy.
- 33:55Speaker 1: It was meant for kids.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 1: So there's some suspicious thing about mister Power Rangers and Jennifer.
- 34:05Speaker 1: So Skyler gets brought in for questioning from investigators and
- 34:09Speaker 1: they want to know where they got the cash from.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Fair question.
- 34:14Speaker 1: After talking for a little while, Skyler admits something.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Okay, what does she amit?
- 34:20Speaker 1: Skyler admits the money was made using drug sales for Mexico.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Oh shit, yeah, I don't know why, but I wasn't
- 34:30Speaker 2: expecting that.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Yep, and Skyler maintained the story. They did the transaction
- 34:35Speaker 1: mostly in one hundred dollars bills, and from there, Thomas
- 34:39Speaker 1: and Jackie asked Skyler if they could use the connections
- 34:43Speaker 1: from the drug transactions to help open a bank in
- 34:47Speaker 1: Mexico where they could buy a house down there.
- 34:51Speaker 2: What that's confusing and doesn't make sense? Hold on, hold on, okay.
- 34:57Speaker 1: From there, they gave Skyler the power of a hernie
- 35:00Speaker 1: over their finances to do so, and Skyler was able
- 35:04Speaker 1: to provide a signed document to the police to prove it.
- 35:09Speaker 2: That doesn't make any sense, like zero sentence.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Not only were signatures required for this document, though fingerprints
- 35:18Speaker 1: were required as well.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but if you were held at friaking gunpot on
- 35:23Speaker 2: a boat, you'd probably do that. Shit, Maybe I would.
- 35:27Speaker 1: There was even a notary who witnessed the signings of
- 35:29Speaker 1: the document and described the same events of the transaction
- 35:32Speaker 1: as Skyler and Jennifer was.
- 35:34Speaker 2: The notary the freaking dude that was on the boat.
- 35:37Speaker 1: It was not w But here's the thing. The notary
- 35:42Speaker 1: was asked to describe the events, did so in perfect detail,
- 35:47Speaker 1: and was asked to describe Thomas and Jackie. Thomas she
- 35:50Speaker 1: described to a t Jackie. However, she described Jackie as
- 35:53Speaker 1: having long, brown curly hair. Jackie no longer had long
- 35:59Speaker 1: brown curly hair. Jackie since they purchased the boat, she
- 36:02Speaker 1: had cut her hair shorter and had it bleach blonde
- 36:05Speaker 1: and spiked, but she did used to have long, brown
- 36:09Speaker 1: curly hair.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I'm confused. Am I supposed to be getting something that
- 36:14Speaker 2: I'm not kidding?
- 36:15Speaker 1: You're not getting nothing until it's revealed. Trust me.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Here, am I gonna be shocked?
- 36:19Speaker 1: We'll find out, because right.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Now I'm just like, what the fuck?
- 36:23Speaker 1: Yeah, we are. This might be a long episode because
- 36:26Speaker 1: we're gonna do this in one. So sorry if this
- 36:28Speaker 1: is a long episode guys, but we are not going
- 36:30Speaker 1: to separate this too. You guys ain't gonna wait. You're
- 36:32Speaker 1: gonna hear it all.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I want to. I'm not waiting for shit.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Okay, So none of this, like you said, none of
- 36:38Speaker 1: this has makeing sense.
- 36:39Speaker 2: No, I'm like utterly confused.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Like, these two people just gave power of attorney over
- 36:44Speaker 1: all their finances to someone they don't even know. Yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: who's involved in drug trafficking and there's documentation and witnesses
- 36:55Speaker 1: to prove it.
- 36:56Speaker 2: And Jackie looks like she's the Jackie of the past.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yep, according to the who. So that's a lot to
- 37:05Speaker 1: absorb there, It's a lot.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Like I actually feel like, why the fuck do I
- 37:08Speaker 2: not have a glass of wine?
- 37:10Speaker 1: Yeah, So Skyler's saying that Jackie and Thomas basically went
- 37:12Speaker 1: took off to Mexico to buy a house there. So
- 37:15Speaker 1: if they did take off to miss Mexico, investigators still
- 37:18Speaker 1: need to find them. They need to confirm what Skyler claims.
- 37:21Speaker 1: They need to make sure that the couple that the
- 37:23Speaker 1: Hawks are Okay, So they put out a national video
- 37:27Speaker 1: with Thomas's son Ryan, asking for the public's help to
- 37:30Speaker 1: find his parents, and they gave him description of the
- 37:33Speaker 1: missing suv as well along with it.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Because yeah, they were going to Arizona, not Mexico. So okay,
- 37:39Speaker 2: I'm just confused.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Well, that's where they were going to move back to
- 37:41Speaker 1: see family, Yes, Arizona, okay, And they're currently in California
- 37:45Speaker 1: when they went missing. So literally like that, that's not
- 37:49Speaker 1: even anywhere near Arizona. Like Mexico's Mexico, Arizona's Arizona.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Like but yeah, yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Okay, So they put out the public broadcast. They got
- 38:03Speaker 1: a hit. Someone had found the missing suv.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 38:09Speaker 1: A US citizen called in and said that they were
- 38:11Speaker 1: in Mexico and they were standing in front of and
- 38:14Speaker 1: looking directly at the missing suv that was just on TV.
- 38:18Speaker 1: It was found.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Wow.
- 38:22Speaker 1: The suv was parked outside of a residence and the
- 38:24Speaker 1: homeowner said that Skyler Delion was an old surfing buddy
- 38:29Speaker 1: and gave him the vehicle. Then his wife, Jennifer stopped
- 38:33Speaker 1: by in another vehicle and they drove home and inside
- 38:38Speaker 1: the car they found Skyler's DNA from a swab on
- 38:44Speaker 1: Jackie Jennifer.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Oh, am I getting names mixed up? Now?
- 38:48Speaker 1: Maybe? Am I getting names mixed up? Now? Why did
- 38:52Speaker 1: you do this to me?
- 38:53Speaker 2: Well? Now I'm just like what Skyler.
- 38:56Speaker 1: And it's Thomas and Jackie are the hawks?
- 38:59Speaker 2: Okay? Sorry I am confused.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Then okay, and yeah, Skyler and Jennifer are the purchasers.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Okay, So okay, I'm I'm confused. You need to explain this.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Skyler dropped off the suv, yes.
- 39:16Speaker 1: And gave it to an old surfing buddy in Mexico.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Why did Skyler have the suv? Though?
- 39:21Speaker 1: I don't know, I do, Okay.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Well, that's why I'm confused. I was expecting it to
- 39:26Speaker 2: be Thomas and Jackie that had the SUV. So sorry,
- 39:29Speaker 2: I was like, didn't I pretty much just making up
- 39:32Speaker 2: the story in my head. And that's wrong.
- 39:34Speaker 1: It's wrong Skyler and Jennifer were in possession of Thomas
- 39:40Speaker 1: and Jackie's suv. Thomas and Jackie are the ones that are.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Missing, okay. And did Jennifer say anything about them giving
- 39:48Speaker 2: this suv to someone? No, Okay, Skyler, that's already fucked
- 39:52Speaker 2: up from what they said.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of fucked up stuff going on.
- 39:56Speaker 1: A lot of stuff does not make sense.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Well yeah, because yeah, okay, this is yeah, you have
- 40:03Speaker 2: I have absolutely no idea how this is going to
- 40:06Speaker 2: go down.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Good. That's kind of the point.
- 40:08Speaker 2: That is probably the point, yes, of this podcast.
- 40:12Speaker 1: So clearly something's wrong doesn't make sense, as your kerfuffle shows.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, sorry, people, I'm okay. Maybe everyone else is
- 40:22Speaker 2: having trouble keeping up because this is wild.
- 40:24Speaker 1: It is wild, but whatever's going wrong, Like investigators are
- 40:28Speaker 1: just baffled and they're just trying to find evidence. They're
- 40:31Speaker 1: just trying to figure out what the fuck is happening.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Well, they're doing a good job looking through everything.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I like that they did and to start with, to
- 40:37Speaker 1: try and dig deeper, what they did was they arrested
- 40:41Speaker 1: Skyler for money laundering because I've already confessed confessed to
- 40:44Speaker 1: that drug money. Well, yeah, and now they could actually
- 40:48Speaker 1: get a warrant to search the apartment that the garage.
- 40:52Speaker 2: The garage apartment. Oh okay, that's good, that's good.
- 40:56Speaker 1: So inside their apartment, suite or whatever. In the garage
- 41:00Speaker 1: they found a lot of personal effects belonging to the Hawks,
- 41:04Speaker 1: like cameras, laptops, and even identification from their wallets. Jackie's
- 41:12Speaker 1: identification was an older photo on her driver's license where
- 41:17Speaker 1: she still had her long, brown, curly hair.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Okay, but that doesn't make sense of why the notary
- 41:29Speaker 2: would be describing it wrong, does it not?
- 41:33Speaker 1: If the notary wasn't actually there, but she was describing
- 41:36Speaker 1: them based off their ideas.
- 41:38Speaker 2: That she saw off the identification.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Yep.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Interesting, But the notary needed to have been there in person.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Problem legally yes? Oh shit, so now it's like someone else.
- 41:56Speaker 2: They're fucked I don't even.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Know how to like go on talking about this without
- 42:01Speaker 1: giving too much stuff. Every thought up, Oh they done
- 42:03Speaker 1: did fucked up?
- 42:04Speaker 2: Yeah? I don't like them.
- 42:06Speaker 1: No, So even though they still don't have a story,
- 42:12Speaker 1: this does show involvement. But even still, could it be
- 42:15Speaker 1: just Skyler? What about Jennifer? Was she an accomplice in
- 42:19Speaker 1: something whatever that's happening here?
- 42:22Speaker 2: Yes she is.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Well, they do have video surveillance at a bank that
- 42:26Speaker 1: shows both Skyler and Jennifer trying to withdraw money from
- 42:30Speaker 1: the Hawk's bank account. What the frig said, power of
- 42:34Speaker 1: attorney paperwork showing that she was just as involved. She's
- 42:39Speaker 1: got a big shit eating grin on her face the
- 42:40Speaker 1: whole time she's in.
- 42:41Speaker 2: That bank is involved.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Thankfully, though the transaction actually was declined, the bank manager
- 42:48Speaker 1: knew the Hawks good and though they had legitimate paperwork,
- 42:52Speaker 1: They're like, we need to verify this before we can
- 42:55Speaker 1: make any sort of transaction, which is good.
- 42:58Speaker 2: But technically that bank manager could have just giving it out.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Eh, technically I think yeah, yeah, signature's fingerprints everything, they're there.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Wow.
- 43:05Speaker 1: So they wanted to validate it first, and that stopped
- 43:08Speaker 1: them from getting the money.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Because one hundred percent I think Jennifer is involved because
- 43:12Speaker 2: she went initially mm hmm, and she dang well knew
- 43:15Speaker 2: that they had not half a million dollars for this boat.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and she's trying to withdraw a half a
- 43:20Speaker 1: million dollars from their account.
- 43:21Speaker 2: There you go.
- 43:23Speaker 1: So again, investigators keep digging into anything they could, and
- 43:26Speaker 1: eventually they had someone recommend something. One of the investigators
- 43:30Speaker 1: was just at a loss and he was talking to
- 43:32Speaker 1: a boating buddy, and he said, he's like, you know, boating.
- 43:38Speaker 1: He's like, we're trying to figure out if there was
- 43:40Speaker 1: a murder on board this ship, this yacht, if there
- 43:44Speaker 1: was a murder or something amiss, what's something that I
- 43:46Speaker 1: should look for, you know, boating tell me sort of thing, right, okay,
- 43:51Speaker 1: And the guy said, without even skipping a beat, immediately
- 43:54Speaker 1: look for a missing anchor.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Oh oh, oh, that's good.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Actually, So they go back and in all of the
- 44:04Speaker 1: photos of the Well Deserved on the front bow of
- 44:08Speaker 1: the boat, there are two anchors. There are one for
- 44:12Speaker 1: each side of the front of the boat. Okay, they
- 44:16Speaker 1: go to the ad in the magazine, all the home
- 44:19Speaker 1: videos footage that they took, there's two anchors. They go
- 44:22Speaker 1: back to the boat, there's one anchor on.
- 44:25Speaker 2: The NOA, No, okay, I'm sure they can lie through
- 44:32Speaker 2: that though.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it doesn't really mean a.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Lot necessarily potentially falling off. It could.
- 44:38Speaker 1: It's all circumstantial evidence. Yeah, there's nothing that really ties
- 44:42Speaker 1: all this together because I mean even the stuff in
- 44:44Speaker 1: their apartment. Yeah, we bought the boat. It was stuff
- 44:46Speaker 1: they left behind.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Prove it, prove it, prove it it's not And why
- 44:50Speaker 2: wouldn't they use two anchors, one for each body. They're
- 44:54Speaker 2: just going to tie the garbage banks to one anchor.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Who knows. So they literally don't have smoking gun though
- 45:00Speaker 1: there's no bodies, there's no blood, there's no murder weapons,
- 45:03Speaker 1: there's nothing. It's just people are missing. You have some
- 45:06Speaker 1: of their possessions and.
- 45:08Speaker 2: That's it, and they just probably have a gut feeling.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and legal documentation that they now.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Have power over their money, which is why.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Yeah, investigators began looking for confession. It's the only way
- 45:20Speaker 1: that they're going to get anything out of this. It's
- 45:22Speaker 1: there at a brick wall a dead end. Confession is
- 45:25Speaker 1: the only way anything's going.
- 45:26Speaker 2: To happen, because trying to find the bodies too would
- 45:28Speaker 2: just be like in the ocean, would be like a
- 45:30Speaker 2: needle and a paystick. Oh harder than that, yeah, worse.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Everyone that they could. They tried to interrogate, tried to question,
- 45:41Speaker 1: and everyone held their story. Skyler, Jennifer, the notary, everyone
- 45:49Speaker 1: held the same story. Nope, this is what happened. They
- 45:52Speaker 1: purchased it in cash. They have the power of attorney.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Don't know where they are, which is impressive.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Until one person was brought in for questioning the attorney.
- 46:05Speaker 2: The attorney, oh, the accountant, the accountants.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Well, yes, there were two men on board.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah you are Tim Hank, Mary Sue.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Oh I damn it.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Oh you got far too excited there.
- 46:24Speaker 1: I did push buttons on a tablet. Where am I? Now?
- 46:28Speaker 2: So the one of the two men that were joining Skyler?
- 46:32Speaker 1: Yes, okay, but the question is like, who are they right? Well, yeah,
- 46:36Speaker 1: there's no evidence pointing and.
- 46:38Speaker 2: One of them probably isn't even an accountant. Well yeah, exactly,
- 46:42Speaker 2: Yeah that was a lie.
- 46:44Speaker 1: So how they got hold of one of those two men?
- 46:50Speaker 1: He was staring him in the face all along. One
- 46:52Speaker 1: of those men was a witness on the power of
- 46:55Speaker 1: attorney that was signed. That man was Alonso Shane a
- 47:01Speaker 1: chain he signed his name on that document. The match
- 47:05Speaker 1: to track him down and brought him in for questioning,
- 47:09Speaker 1: and Alonso decided he was gonna do the right thing,
- 47:13Speaker 1: and he told investigators everything. Oh he spilled the proverbial beans.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Wow, that easy? Eh?
- 47:24Speaker 1: That easy? Well, I mean there was a little bit
- 47:25Speaker 1: more than that. Initially, It basically it breaks down to
- 47:29Speaker 1: he tried to run to Mexico. He did escape into Mexico,
- 47:32Speaker 1: and then investigators I got a hold of them and
- 47:34Speaker 1: they were like, you know, like if you talk to
- 47:36Speaker 1: us and you confess whatever, blah blah, will reduce your sentencing.
- 47:38Speaker 1: And then anyways, he did come in for questioning. He
- 47:41Speaker 1: decided to do the right thing. So it's a little
- 47:42Speaker 1: bit more complicated than that. But it's like, well, I
- 47:44Speaker 1: just sa necessary.
- 47:46Speaker 2: He's the motherfucker that needed the toms, you think, So, yeah,
- 47:52Speaker 2: he probably had an upset stomach ache from all this shit.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Well I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you now. They never
- 47:58Speaker 1: ended up using any of that stuff that was purchased,
- 48:02Speaker 1: and it was actually Jennifer's dad who purchased those things.
- 48:08Speaker 1: So I'm pretty sure it's kind of that was kind
- 48:10Speaker 1: of a dead end.
- 48:11Speaker 2: That's not very fun.
- 48:13Speaker 1: They learned that, Okay, that stuff was purchased by Jennifer's dad.
- 48:16Speaker 1: They have security footage of it at a hardware store
- 48:20Speaker 1: or whatever store. But why was that receipt on board?
- 48:23Speaker 2: Well, why did Jennifer's dad purchase those things? Was he
- 48:25Speaker 2: murdering someone?
- 48:26Speaker 1: Well, they just like, oh, it's just a shopping list.
- 48:29Speaker 2: There's so that.
- 48:30Speaker 1: That's kind of the end of that. There's no more
- 48:32Speaker 1: information on that. It's just a shopping list.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Hopefully you never come home with that kind of shopping
- 48:36Speaker 2: list because then I feel like I'm fucked.
- 48:38Speaker 1: No kidding, but yeah, clearly I think there was intent there,
- 48:44Speaker 1: but I think plans changed, and this is what actually
- 48:48Speaker 1: did happen. This is what the plan was. The plan
- 48:51Speaker 1: was to set out an open water with Alonso and
- 48:56Speaker 1: another man who was the accountant and I shit you not.
- 48:59Speaker 1: His name is John f Kennedy. John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Okay,
- 49:05Speaker 1: he was a big guy and he was a notorious
- 49:08Speaker 1: gang member.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Oh that's so scary.
- 49:11Speaker 1: So these two men and Skyler went on board and
- 49:14Speaker 1: hit the open water. The plan is going to be
- 49:18Speaker 1: that John or JFK I'm going to call him. JFK
- 49:23Speaker 1: is going to fake see sickness when they're on the
- 49:25Speaker 1: open water, and he's going to head down to one
- 49:28Speaker 1: of the lower decks on the boat. Now, once below,
- 49:32Speaker 1: he's going to wait for Thomas to follow and check
- 49:35Speaker 1: on him.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Oh, because Thomas is a nice guy exactly, So that's
- 49:40Speaker 2: what he did.
- 49:41Speaker 1: He's down below and he waited.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Shit.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Sure enough, not long after, Thomas followed down to check
- 49:50Speaker 1: on him and see if he's okay, and right behind
- 49:52Speaker 1: him followed Skyler. Peke Skyler and JFK jumped Thomas and
- 50:00Speaker 1: tackled him to the ground and using a taser, subdued him.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Now that leaves I don't like that. Alonzo and Jackie Deck.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Jackie heard the commotion down below. Shit, and that commotion
- 50:16Speaker 1: was the sign for a Lonzo to take control of
- 50:19Speaker 1: her using a taser as well. Wow, so now he
- 50:22Speaker 1: subdued her and handcuffed her.
- 50:26Speaker 2: See, I hate this, and they're freaking the middle of
- 50:28Speaker 2: the goddamn ocean. This is why I'm not ever going
- 50:31Speaker 2: in the ocean.
- 50:32Speaker 1: This is why this is the reason specifically, So I
- 50:35Speaker 1: don't get tased in handcuffed.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Well, yeah, and then you you're fucked.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Yeah, if you ever go in the ocean, you're gonna
- 50:41Speaker 1: get You're you're gonna get jumped by JFK. That's your fear.
- 50:45Speaker 1: That is a fear and a half JFK specifically.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Holy, Okay, So this okay. So they're both basically like
- 50:52Speaker 2: subdued and tasered yep.
- 50:54Speaker 1: And Jackie's handcuffed and she's handcuffed. I'm assuming too something
- 50:58Speaker 1: because a Lonzo is ordered by Skyler to go to
- 51:01Speaker 1: the engine room and get duct tape, and from there
- 51:05Speaker 1: they duct tape both of them. They bind them. They're
- 51:08Speaker 1: buying their hands and their legs enough that they can
- 51:10Speaker 1: just walk a little bit, but they're duct tape up tight,
- 51:14Speaker 1: including across their eyes and mouth.
- 51:18Speaker 2: I just hate that visual.
- 51:21Speaker 1: So once they were bound, they were placed on the
- 51:23Speaker 1: bed and then Skyler went to the GPS on board
- 51:27Speaker 1: the boat and put in coordinates for the deepest part
- 51:30Speaker 1: of the nearby ocean at Catalina Island. Of course, then
- 51:35Speaker 1: the Hawks were one at a time, led to the
- 51:38Speaker 1: kitchen and were forced to sign the power of attorney
- 51:42Speaker 1: they were told if they did, they would get to live,
- 51:45Speaker 1: and if they didn't, they would be killed right then
- 51:48Speaker 1: and there.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Oh guaranteed you'd get killed either way.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Yeah, So both Jackie and Thomas signed the power of attorney.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Yep, I mean you have to, really, what else would
- 51:57Speaker 2: you do?
- 51:58Speaker 1: One really cool thing. I'm gonna say here. Jackie is
- 52:02Speaker 1: our badass of the day for this is she What
- 52:04Speaker 1: did she do while signing the power of attorney? I said,
- 52:07Speaker 1: everything on its legit right, Yeah, fingerprints did something?
- 52:11Speaker 2: What did she do?
- 52:12Speaker 1: Not? Everything was legit?
- 52:14Speaker 2: What did she do?
- 52:15Speaker 1: Their last name is hawks h A W K S. Okay,
- 52:20Speaker 1: she didn't sign her full name. She signed Jackie Hawk,
- 52:26Speaker 1: signaling something wasn't right. So investigators, handwriting experts all that
- 52:34Speaker 1: could see that the S was forged. So they believe
- 52:38Speaker 1: Jackie was trying to signal someone that this is a
- 52:42Speaker 1: whole fucked up situation.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Seriously, But then these people added the S after they
- 52:49Speaker 2: did Really, yep, that's interesting, okay, I do I find
- 52:55Speaker 2: that actually interesting that they would have noticed that I
- 52:58Speaker 2: do too and added it like I actually almost like wow.
- 53:02Speaker 2: So huh.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Once they arrived at the destination that was put into
- 53:07Speaker 1: the GPS the deepest sea, Thomas and Jackie were led
- 53:10Speaker 1: to the deck of the boat, still bound with duct
- 53:12Speaker 1: tape no where. Skyler dragged the chain from the anchor
- 53:16Speaker 1: across the deck of their beloved Well Deserved and began
- 53:21Speaker 1: to secure both of them to the chain with rope.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Shit, did he at least kill them first? I don't
- 53:26Speaker 2: know what would be better.
- 53:28Speaker 1: The entire time Jackie was begging, saying, please, well, kill us,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I want to see my grandson one more time.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Yeah, because you guys are fucking assholes.
- 53:38Speaker 1: And the entire time Thomas was just trying to calm
- 53:41Speaker 1: her down, keep her crying.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Oh no, and.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Thomas reassured her. And this is a quote from Alonso.
- 53:48Speaker 1: He said that Thomas was telling her this at least
- 53:52Speaker 1: will be together.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Oh no, like ouch, oh my freaking heart, it just hurts.
- 54:00Speaker 1: So then it hurts. Skuyler, without even any remorse, threw
- 54:07Speaker 1: the anchor overboard, the chain quickly dragging across the deck
- 54:12Speaker 1: as it sank, and Thomas and Jackie hawk waited their
- 54:15Speaker 1: last moments above water as they heard the frantic clanking
- 54:18Speaker 1: of the chain rushing off the deck before it finally
- 54:22Speaker 1: grabbed their bounds. And slung them off the boat into
- 54:25Speaker 1: the cold water. There thirty six hundred feet down to
- 54:31Speaker 1: the bottom of the ocean, Thomas and Jackie Hawk met
- 54:35Speaker 1: their grave and to this day their bodies have never
- 54:38Speaker 1: been recovered.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Oh no, I was just like, that's some Titanic shit
- 54:46Speaker 2: right there. Yeah, that's freaking sad. They didn't kill them first.
- 54:51Speaker 1: It didn't kill them first, they just thw And a
- 54:54Speaker 1: little morbid fact about drowning for.
- 54:56Speaker 2: You, Oh, I really really really don't know if.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I want to know, can take up to ten minutes
- 55:02Speaker 1: before a person is clinically clinically dead. The average person
- 55:07Speaker 1: can hold their breath for about thirty seconds after the
- 55:11Speaker 1: body's reflexes kicks in. It tries to breathe, and you
- 55:13Speaker 1: inhale water and can remain conscious inhaling, gasping, choking, Your
- 55:19Speaker 1: throat closes off to try and keep water out for
- 55:22Speaker 1: up to two minutes before you pass out.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Thanks, thanks for that shit.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Welcome. It's not a true crime podcast if I don't
- 55:30Speaker 1: put in the facts like that brutal.
- 55:33Speaker 2: So you're like struggling for a long fucking time.
- 55:35Speaker 1: And imagine being like in that situation where you're frantic
- 55:40Speaker 1: and like Jackie's bawling. Imagine trying to hold your breath
- 55:44Speaker 1: while your anxiety is that high and your.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Ball Oh and you probably have like ten seconds.
- 55:49Speaker 1: I doubt she even could have held a breath at all.
- 55:52Speaker 2: Oh no, okay, well, what was the point of all this? Like,
- 55:58Speaker 2: what the hell?
- 56:00Speaker 1: Well? Skyler, Alonzo and JFK and Jennifer were all arrested
- 56:04Speaker 1: and they were put on trial. While in jail, Skyler,
- 56:08Speaker 1: as it turns out, was a suspect for a previous
- 56:10Speaker 1: murder in Mexico and was being investigated for a third
- 56:14Speaker 1: murder where a man by the name of John Jarviy
- 56:17Speaker 1: died and had his throat cut. While in prison, Skyler
- 56:22Speaker 1: actually revealed that a gender reassignment surgery was a high
- 56:27Speaker 1: on their priority list for him. That was the motive
- 56:33Speaker 1: money for a reassignment. Skyler had a surgery booked for
- 56:36Speaker 1: two weeks after the disappearance of the Hawks and would
- 56:40Speaker 1: have cost seventeen thousand dollars, but they didn't have the money.
- 56:44Speaker 2: Okay, what do you mean? I'm confused? Like he wanted
- 56:46Speaker 2: to change his gender so that he could get away
- 56:49Speaker 2: with the crimes.
- 56:51Speaker 1: No, Schylar used to go by he and I didn't
- 56:58Speaker 1: tell you about this because I didn't want to. It
- 57:02Speaker 1: would have messed up the story, the confusion. Yes, and
- 57:04Speaker 1: it's the motive I wouldn't want to tell you that.
- 57:06Speaker 1: So Skyler actually doesn't go by he. Skyler is now she.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Skyler is she. So we are going to refer to
- 57:12Speaker 1: Skyler as she from here on out. Okay. I did
- 57:16Speaker 1: know that the whole time through, and I tried to
- 57:17Speaker 1: do my best to say he, but and I don't
- 57:20Speaker 1: want to. I just want to point this out. I'm
- 57:22Speaker 1: not going to refer to Skyler as she to respect Skyler,
- 57:25Speaker 1: Fuck Skyler. I'm going to refer to Skyler as she
- 57:28Speaker 1: to respect the people out there who are struggling with
- 57:30Speaker 1: transgender and to support them, just saying.
- 57:35Speaker 2: So she's with Jennifer and Jennifer was pregnant, right, yes, Okay.
- 57:43Speaker 1: So while in prison, Skyler was actually so desperate that
- 57:47Speaker 1: she tried to cut off her own manhood that I'm
- 57:54Speaker 1: sure it would feel pretty bad, especially when it was
- 57:56Speaker 1: with a razor blade.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Oh shit.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Oh so this is an angering part. Actually, because of this,
- 58:06Speaker 1: taxpayers have now actually paid for the surgery. Skyler has
- 58:10Speaker 1: now gone through the transition through taxpayers money while in
- 58:14Speaker 1: jail because of this and because of like the mental
- 58:17Speaker 1: health issues and their current state. So that kind of
- 58:21Speaker 1: fucking pisses me off because there's people who like deserve
- 58:24Speaker 1: it or earn it, where Skylar fucking.
- 58:26Speaker 2: Just got it handed.
- 58:28Speaker 1: So I'm trying to go through this pretty quick. We're
- 58:31Speaker 1: almost there, I know.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Can I just say, like, oh, really quickly? So like
- 58:35Speaker 2: they just saw these these people's ads ad and it
- 58:39Speaker 2: probably was like they have money, and so they just
- 58:41Speaker 2: like plan this whole thing out, yep.
- 58:44Speaker 1: So they can get money, set out of debt, maybe
- 58:46Speaker 1: have a boat they could live on, get out of
- 58:48Speaker 1: the garage, and Skyler could get it get the surgery
- 58:51Speaker 1: gender assignments.
- 58:53Speaker 2: That is some wild motives.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Okay, one little tidbit I didn't actually say, Actually I
- 59:00Speaker 1: wasn't going to, but I'm going to now just to
- 59:02Speaker 1: show how heartless Skyler was. On the way back from
- 59:05Speaker 1: throwing Thomas and Jackie overboard, he was throwing their personal
- 59:10Speaker 1: effects overboard anything he didn't want to keep, she didn't
- 59:12Speaker 1: want to keep, sorry, and decided that it was a
- 59:15Speaker 1: great time to fish on the way back.
- 59:18Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, just sounds like a monster, Like an
- 59:21Speaker 2: actual monster. Yes, that's so disgusting.
- 59:24Speaker 1: So November seventeenth, two thousand and six, Jennifer was found
- 59:29Speaker 1: guilty on two accounts of first degree murder and was
- 59:32Speaker 1: sentenced to two life terms without the possibility of parole.
- 59:36Speaker 2: Good fuck yeah, still in jail.
- 59:38Speaker 1: I'm hoping without possibility of parole some yeah, oh.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Without Oh yeah, see right away, I just assumed we're
- 59:44Speaker 2: gonna be album like five ten years.
- 59:48Speaker 1: February nineteenth, two thousand and nine, John Fitzgerald Kennedy aka
- 59:53Speaker 1: JFK was found guilty on two accounts of first degree
- 59:57Speaker 1: murder and on May one nine, was sentenced to death.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Oh you got the death penalty.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: They still have the death penalty down there, I guess.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: So interesting.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Alonzo mc chain, who was the one who told the
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: whole story okay and was promised, you know, a reduced sentence.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Well yeah, they probably had some sort.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Of deal, yep, was given said lesser sentence for his
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: cooperation and was and he pleaded guilty to two accounts
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: of voluntary manslaughter, kidnapping, and robbery. On June fifteenth, two
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: thousand and nine. He was sentenced to twenty years and
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: four months. His first eligible for parole is September of
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: twenty twenty one, so not very far away.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: So this could be in the news soon really yeap.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: On October twentieth, two thousand and eight, Skuylar Delhion was
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: convicted of three accounts of first degree murder because remember
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: there was that third oh that on trial four?
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Right? Like who else died? But yeah, I remember, with.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: Special circumstance, dances of financial gain and multiple victims. I'm
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: gonna read that sentence again because I totally boy, I
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: got it. So Skyler jell yone was convicted of three
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: accounts of first degree murder with special circumstances for financial
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: gain and multiple victims, and on November sixth, two thousand
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: and eight, the jury rendered a verdict. Skyler was found
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: guilty and sentenced to death.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Okay, I was like, if that other guy was sentenced,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: this one has to be. She does. Wow. Okay, so
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: are they dead? I wonder?
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: No, I didn't look that up. Shit, I should look
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: that up right now.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: Okay, let's do it.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna go on my phone here because it's faster
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: than my tablet. Okay, let's see. Let's give it a.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Quick Google because lots of times, even with like who
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: just died again?
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: Oh that's something I should have talked about the beginning, Yeah, Rodney, right,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Rodney Alcala.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Yeah, and like honestly should have already had been executed, yeah,
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: like law ago.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: So the fact that they just got to just die
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: like natural or whatever causes is like, what the hell?
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: So Skyler je Leone is still alive and is now
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: at the age of forty.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: One, of course, why the hell is she not executed yet? Yeah,
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I don't know, Like it takes a long time. Ehe
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: there must be like so many processes you have to
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: go through or something for that.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a little ridiculous because, like you say, Rodney
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Alcala was on death row for how many years? Die
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: natural causes? I mean, he should have been killed. He
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: should have been gone from this world at least he's
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: gone now. But now there's no like retribution for that family,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: you know, and who knows the same sort of thing
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: could happen to Skyler. She could sit on death row
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: for who knows how many years and die of natural cause.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Which is sad because like those lovely people had children, Yeah,
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: you know, like they left behind like oh, gosh, like,
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: go spend time with their grandkid and that's just brutal.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: It's crazy. These people are trash scrawls. You trash, Jennifer,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: you trash. Alonso not as much a trash, but you
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: still trash, still trash, and JFK you trash, trash all
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: of them. You're nasty, You nasty, all right? That I
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: think that's officially our longest episode you've ever done.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was interesting. I mean, like I needed
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: to know, I had like we had to.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: There was a lot of information. It was a big
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: old spider web and tangle mess yep of stuff.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and I honestly just don't feel that great about it.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's people like this make me sick.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Like that's freaking sad. God, I don't think I'm
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: going to sell my car in the newspaper. That shit's
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: just getting traded in the dealership.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: If you do sell it in the driveway, you know,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: to privately or whatever like that, maybe just have a
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: baseball bat at your side something.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: Yeah, all my wolf husky rim beside me?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Yeah, what was she going to do? Pet me?
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Yeah? Pet me? Love me?
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, thanks for sticking around for over an hour.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that was good and I.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Hope you enjoyed the episode, Babe, I hope you guys
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: enjoyed the episode.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Thanks for listening everyone, man, stay wicked.
