- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench. We have to Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Well, the plays get broken down and Science gets denied
- 0:09Speaker 1: to come off the bitch. Hour two of Off the Bench,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Kine Studio.
- 0:29Speaker 2: All right, welcome back here Off the Bench Wednesday morning,
- 0:34Speaker 2: taking off hour at number two. Thanks for joining us
- 0:36Speaker 2: this morning. We hear it's a beautiful day out today.
- 0:41Speaker 2: We don't really know, so we come in when it's dark.
- 0:43Speaker 2: But Doc came in this morning. That is a beautiful
- 0:45Speaker 2: day Wednesday. Show's brought to you by a hood Dannel,
- 0:48Speaker 2: brought to you every single week. We are here with
- 0:51Speaker 2: Doctor Steven Ether Jealousie team Doctor Doc.
- 0:55Speaker 3: How are we doing doing great? Everything's good, everything's We're
- 0:57Speaker 3: in the big chair today. I'm feeling special over here.
- 1:00Speaker 2: This is great. I know you had to move Cane
- 1:01Speaker 2: the dogs. You didn't have to hit her too, put
- 1:04Speaker 2: him in their place. Oh, everything's good though, life's good.
- 1:09Speaker 2: That's great. All right? Good you were you? Did you
- 1:13Speaker 2: come talk to Taylor and laundr last week?
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yea, yeah, actually I got to have your chair last week,
- 1:17Speaker 3: so I'm getting the whole He's the studio.
- 1:20Speaker 4: He schooled us on like the Earth orbiting and stuff.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You talk about that a little bit, Yes, Spring equinox.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Taylor made the point yesterdays. It's like, why don't we
- 1:31Speaker 2: just like take a day away from a couple of months.
- 1:33Speaker 4: That's what we talked about and how we could do it.
- 1:36Speaker 5: Yeah, because eventually, if you did take a day away
- 1:39Speaker 5: from a month, like winter would be in the spring,
- 1:42Speaker 5: summer would be in the winter, it'd be that kind
- 1:45Speaker 5: of situation.
- 1:46Speaker 2: We don't want that.
- 1:48Speaker 4: M hmm.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Combine week, combine combine. Wee what a week? What a
- 1:54Speaker 2: what a week? We talked about So Jake and I
- 1:56Speaker 2: talked about this a lot, like leading up to the Combine.
- 2:00Speaker 2: He's at the Combine this week, so we talked about
- 2:02Speaker 2: a lot Monday too. It is certainly a huge week
- 2:05Speaker 2: for every player involved. It's certainly a huge week. And
- 2:08Speaker 2: and the sexy stuff is what most people talk about.
- 2:12Speaker 2: It's like what forty to run? How much did he bench?
- 2:14Speaker 2: How much did he do this? Well, we looked at
- 2:17Speaker 2: the schedule yesterday, like quarterbacks, receivers, running backs report on Tuesday.
- 2:23Speaker 2: They don't even hit the field till Saturday. Saturday. Now
- 2:26Speaker 2: that's four nights that they got and then I think
- 2:28Speaker 2: they do bench press on Sunday, so like it's a long,
- 2:31Speaker 2: long week. It's even longer than when went back of
- 2:34Speaker 2: my day, like twenty years ago doing it. So most
- 2:37Speaker 2: of this is certainly player interviews, but the other important part,
- 2:40Speaker 2: of course, is on the medical side of things. These
- 2:44Speaker 2: kids are put through the wringer. If you will have you,
- 2:48Speaker 2: I want to talk about your kind of you probably
- 2:52Speaker 2: have some stuff going on with the comb I'm sure
- 2:54Speaker 2: these team doctors before they even get to the combine,
- 2:58Speaker 2: especially people like high on lists and their teams are
- 3:00Speaker 2: thinking about I'm sure they're reaching out to colleges and
- 3:02Speaker 2: getting different medical documents and opinions and talking to team doctors. Yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 2: it's a process.
- 3:08Speaker 3: So we definitely have episodes where we have teams reach
- 3:11Speaker 3: out to us, especially if you have a you know,
- 3:13Speaker 3: a big player that had any kind of a major injury.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Of course you know right away you're getting something that
- 3:16Speaker 3: there is anything in their medical history. They're gonna get
- 3:19Speaker 3: all the documentation, they're gonna have the notes, the imaging,
- 3:22Speaker 3: everything that was done to that athlete up to this point.
- 3:26Speaker 2: You'll have access to that. And and I did you.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Know, I get that got the pleasure of getting to
- 3:29Speaker 3: go to the Combine one year as a medical provider.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Got I was in the room with the Saints when
- 3:33Speaker 3: they were there, and and getting to see that whole process.
- 3:36Speaker 3: And I know y'all have talked about it, but it
- 3:37Speaker 3: was it was an eye opening experience. I mean, it's
- 3:39Speaker 3: it is and and I felt so guilty for the
- 3:43Speaker 3: medical treatment these guys get and and again it's all
- 3:46Speaker 3: obviously of the best intentions and and look, it's a
- 3:50Speaker 3: huge investment if you're drafting a guy, especially you're going
- 3:52Speaker 3: to draft a guy early, and a big part of
- 3:54Speaker 3: it is is the medical You don't want to draft
- 3:56Speaker 3: a guy who's only going to play for a season
- 3:58Speaker 3: and then be out, or a guy there's no we're going.
- 4:00Speaker 2: To see the fieldment.
- 4:01Speaker 3: So so it was a it was an interesting process,
- 4:04Speaker 3: you know, the and I know y'all talked about it some.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Every you know, every team gets a and so the
- 4:09Speaker 3: way the way they did it is you had one
- 4:10Speaker 3: room right in the beginning, so all the players come
- 4:12Speaker 3: through this one room and that's.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Like the general medroom.
- 4:14Speaker 3: And I know you went through it, but in that room,
- 4:17Speaker 3: that's where you're you're geting your bood pressure, you're getting
- 4:18Speaker 3: an ey KG. You have a doc listened to your
- 4:20Speaker 3: heart and lungs and all the basic medical non orthopedic, muscular,
- 4:23Speaker 3: skeletal stuff. And the funny thing is you do that
- 4:26Speaker 3: once and and and and one doctor or you usually
- 4:29Speaker 3: two docks that represent two different teams. So if like
- 4:32Speaker 3: you and I were docks for you know, the Saints
- 4:33Speaker 3: and the Bucks, we'd be in that room and then
- 4:36Speaker 3: the rest of the docks kind of just take you
- 4:37Speaker 3: my report and they say, okay, this is But then
- 4:39Speaker 3: you go to the orthopedic side. And that's the part
- 4:41Speaker 3: y'all were talking about where every team there's there's like
- 4:43Speaker 3: we leave six rooms. Yeah, uh five or six teams
- 4:47Speaker 3: in each room.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yep. I think that. I think that's right because I
- 4:49Speaker 2: think Jake said that you sit in one room, but
- 4:51Speaker 2: I remember it going to a couple of different rooms
- 4:54Speaker 2: that had like eight doctors like cracking their knucklesh. Yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 2: and it's go.
- 4:58Speaker 3: And I will say the part that was interesting there's
- 5:00Speaker 3: still a good bit of camaraderie in the medicine, which
- 5:02Speaker 3: I was a little bit surprised. So so like in
- 5:03Speaker 3: our room, for example, is like the Saints, the Bucks,
- 5:06Speaker 3: the Giants, I think the Panthers, and I think the
- 5:09Speaker 3: packers are in our room and and so each one
- 5:12Speaker 3: has a couple docks, they have their athletic trainers, and
- 5:15Speaker 3: so you know, when you're in there, we're gonna do
- 5:17Speaker 3: a basic orthopedic exam and then focus on any injury
- 5:20Speaker 3: you had. So if you had a shoulder injury while
- 5:21Speaker 3: you were here, or high ankle injury, we're going to
- 5:23Speaker 3: really take a look at that. And if and if
- 5:25Speaker 3: I think that we need to get an MRI in
- 5:27Speaker 3: your ankle based on what we see or have or
- 5:28Speaker 3: don't have, I'm gonna order the MRI. And then then
- 5:31Speaker 3: you go to the next room, and the next room
- 5:32Speaker 3: might be five other teams, and they say, you know what,
- 5:34Speaker 3: we need to get a CT scan in a shoulder. So
- 5:35Speaker 3: then they're going to write that on your sheet. And
- 5:37Speaker 3: so at the end of the day you have this
- 5:38Speaker 3: sheet with all the evaluations and you're gonna have all
- 5:41Speaker 3: these studies. They have the MRI machines there at Lucas Oil.
- 5:44Speaker 3: They have the semis out back. Really, yeah, they are
- 5:46Speaker 3: there at the facility now, so you don't have to
- 5:47Speaker 3: go to the hospitals all the side. Yeah, that was
- 5:49Speaker 3: the w So that's yeah, because you have the mobile
- 5:52Speaker 3: units where they can do it. So it's all done
- 5:53Speaker 3: there at least unless it's maybe some kind of really
- 5:56Speaker 3: bizarre test that you need to get done. And and
- 5:58Speaker 3: so at the end of the day you're gonna say, ok, hey, Matt,
- 6:00Speaker 3: your your mrise at eight o'clock to night. They have
- 6:02Speaker 3: that thing run late late late, you know, through the night,
- 6:05Speaker 3: and then the next day like one a one time
- 6:07Speaker 3: from the hostil I was at the hospital for eight
- 6:09Speaker 3: hours and I think, I don't know how late it goes.
- 6:11Speaker 3: It's probably nearly round the clock. And then the next
- 6:14Speaker 3: day we get those reports back and then we kind
- 6:16Speaker 3: of go back and we look at it. But the
- 6:18Speaker 3: part that was interesting is all the teams in that
- 6:19Speaker 3: room together at least talk, So after you leave the room,
- 6:21Speaker 3: we would all sit there and talk and and for me,
- 6:23Speaker 3: maybe one of the greatest educational experiences I've had as
- 6:26Speaker 3: a doctor was sitting here listening to the best of
- 6:28Speaker 3: the best you know in that room. At least it's
- 6:30Speaker 3: five teams, and so I'm listening to the you know,
- 6:33Speaker 3: Bobby Anderson, who's a legendary foot and ankle guy who
- 6:35Speaker 3: at the time is with the Packers. I'm listening to
- 6:36Speaker 3: him talk about ankle injuries and this guy's ankle.
- 6:40Speaker 2: But on the other hand, for the athletes, you go.
- 6:42Speaker 3: From room to room, people are pulling on your niche,
- 6:44Speaker 3: whist on, and especially if you had a knee injury,
- 6:46Speaker 3: we are going to test the every living you know
- 6:48Speaker 3: what out of that. I mean, it is insane. And
- 6:51Speaker 3: so then you leave at the end of the day,
- 6:52Speaker 3: like you said, you probably weren't sore and you got there.
- 6:54Speaker 3: But if I pull on your knee over and over
- 6:56Speaker 3: and over, even if that needs great, it's gonna it's
- 6:58Speaker 3: gonna be soords it's but and then the interesting thing
- 7:00Speaker 3: is the all the teams talk. But then at the end,
- 7:03Speaker 3: each team comes up with their own assessment, and we
- 7:05Speaker 3: would grade you as like if you had nothing, you
- 7:08Speaker 3: would be an A, and there's nobody this an except
- 7:10Speaker 3: for maybe a punter. And then then it was like
- 7:13Speaker 3: a B. And this is like every team has on
- 7:14Speaker 3: her scale, but some version of this. And then you
- 7:16Speaker 3: get to like a C. And that's what really most
- 7:17Speaker 3: people are. That means you've had injuries rather significant. Maybe
- 7:20Speaker 3: some that may give you issues. And then we had
- 7:22Speaker 3: a designate a number. I'll give you a C five,
- 7:24Speaker 3: which means you're a you've had some injuries, and I
- 7:27Speaker 3: think you've got a five year career based on your
- 7:29Speaker 3: medical alone. And I mean that's it's a lot of speculation,
- 7:32Speaker 3: and it's a lot of pressure. And then like you
- 7:34Speaker 3: had like a D or an E, which was like
- 7:35Speaker 3: the guy who has a current injury, so we have
- 7:37Speaker 3: to reassess you. And then then you fail a guy
- 7:39Speaker 3: like hey, I don't think you'll ever play, Yeah, you
- 7:41Speaker 3: know so, and the whole thing is crazy, and and
- 7:43Speaker 3: and then to do all that, and I remember the
- 7:45Speaker 3: year I was there that there was there was guys
- 7:48Speaker 3: that would come through and and this is their dream.
- 7:51Speaker 3: And then you know, you'd hear these guys talking like, oh,
- 7:52Speaker 3: his knees are horrible, their shot, he's already got early
- 7:54Speaker 3: arthritis in both knees.
- 7:55Speaker 2: He ain't gonna last three years.
- 7:56Speaker 3: And this is the guy that may have been like
- 7:57Speaker 3: a fifth round prospect who's now out of the draft
- 8:00Speaker 3: because of that grade. And it's it's and you know,
- 8:02Speaker 3: maybe one team doesn't feel that way. You hope for
- 8:04Speaker 3: that kid, but on the other hand, it's like, gosh,
- 8:06Speaker 3: this is this is brutal.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Now do you all would the doctors like communicate, Like
- 8:09Speaker 2: if you're in the same room and you got a
- 8:11Speaker 2: Green Bay doctor and then you got a Broncos doc, Derek,
- 8:15Speaker 2: could they potentially have two completely different evaluations? For sure?
- 8:20Speaker 3: For sure, now we're gonna talk about the eval altogether.
- 8:22Speaker 3: But maybe I don't think that your knee situation is
- 8:25Speaker 3: quite as bad. I'm like, you know, I might saw
- 8:27Speaker 3: I might grade you like a B and he might
- 8:28Speaker 3: say you're a C and or I might say you're
- 8:30Speaker 3: a C five and give you a C two. So
- 8:33Speaker 3: there's a lot of variability and and that's where the
- 8:35Speaker 3: part does separate. But we might still, you know, I
- 8:36Speaker 3: might talk about it, and then I might not tell
- 8:38Speaker 3: you my grade.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I might, you know, kind of.
- 8:40Speaker 3: That was more than that one part that was gamesmanship,
- 8:43Speaker 3: and that's the part that is, you know, so at
- 8:44Speaker 3: the end of the day, we share information, I say,
- 8:46Speaker 3: and I will say it was pretty honest, like, hey,
- 8:48Speaker 3: I'm really worried about this kid's knee. He was a
- 8:49Speaker 3: little bit loose already. That cartilage on his zimri looks
- 8:52Speaker 3: pretty rough. All those are things we might talk about,
- 8:54Speaker 3: but that the end of the day, the grade that
- 8:56Speaker 3: we give you is not shared. That's the one part
- 8:59Speaker 3: that was of kept secret, even though there was, like
- 9:01Speaker 3: I said, a lot of sharing of info.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 9:04Speaker 3: So, like I said, we listened to guy talked about
- 9:05Speaker 3: the ankle, and I'm like, you know, I think it's
- 9:06Speaker 3: a little better than he thinks.
- 9:07Speaker 2: And that part would be up on the teams. So like, yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 2: the Cowboys doctor sitting there and he's asking the opinion
- 9:12Speaker 2: of like the Texans doctor and he's like, I guess sucks.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I mean that doctor sucks.
- 9:17Speaker 3: You know, there probably is a little of that is awful.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Where good? Where'd he go to school? Right? So three
- 9:24Speaker 2: hundred nineteen prospects, we're invited to the twenty twenty six
- 9:28Speaker 2: NFL Combine. That's a lot of poking and pride, and
- 9:31Speaker 2: that's a lot of work for the doctor. Like, that's
- 9:34Speaker 2: a big job for them. Has there ever been a
- 9:36Speaker 2: doctor get injured at the combine? I'm sure there has.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I'm sure there has. I was not aware of anybody. Yeah,
- 9:41Speaker 2: I gotta imagine that much. That much, that much? Do
- 9:44Speaker 2: you know?
- 9:44Speaker 3: You get some of these guys that are a little
- 9:46Speaker 3: banged up. Some of the guys a little more seasoned,
- 9:47Speaker 3: maybe they uh that shoulder don't hold it up as well.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Are you concerned with any of the uh, any big
- 9:52Speaker 2: injuries for LSU.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Guys headed towards I think everybody's gonna do pretty well.
- 9:56Speaker 3: I think I think, you know, we come into it,
- 9:58Speaker 3: there's a tour set that's going to be talk It
- 10:00Speaker 3: was about a lot. You know, they're going to talk
- 10:01Speaker 3: a lot about that. You know, we've had some guys
- 10:03Speaker 3: that that going into this are gonna have questions, but
- 10:06Speaker 3: you know, I think most of our guys are coming
- 10:07Speaker 3: in are pretty healthy.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Okay. Along with that tour, So, like Garrett has Garrett
- 10:14Speaker 2: came out and lard Singapore and kind of said that
- 10:16Speaker 2: there was something there, but he didn't really give any
- 10:18Speaker 2: specifics was there is It just kind of like, uh,
- 10:20Speaker 2: we don't really know what what this is and it's
- 10:24Speaker 2: just it's an AB injury. Just can't use a strain
- 10:26Speaker 2: muscle or something. Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Yeah, And you know it's something that you know, he
- 10:29Speaker 3: battled with for a while and it's something that he
- 10:31Speaker 3: really fought, fought hard with and I respected that part
- 10:34Speaker 3: of it because he had to play through that and
- 10:36Speaker 3: try and figure out ways to make it work. We
- 10:37Speaker 3: had to try and find ways to make it work.
- 10:39Speaker 3: You know, I think with the specifics of the injury,
- 10:41Speaker 3: like I'm not sure what I'm allowed to go into
- 10:43Speaker 3: and what I'm not because some of it is public
- 10:45Speaker 3: information now some of it isn't. Obviously, we know he
- 10:46Speaker 3: had anab injury and and and it was something that again.
- 10:49Speaker 2: He gritted it out. Give him a lot of you know,
- 10:51Speaker 2: we did, we did all we.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Could to help him, and you know, unfortunately some injuries just.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So sure, it'll be talked a lot about this week.
- 10:57Speaker 3: I'm sure there will be some scations thirty two team doctors.
- 11:02Speaker 3: It's a big deal because if it's and I don't
- 11:04Speaker 3: think it would be, but if he had an injury
- 11:05Speaker 3: that would affect him the rest of his career, you
- 11:07Speaker 3: want to know that. And whereas if it's something that
- 11:10Speaker 3: was something we can work through, which I believe it is,
- 11:13Speaker 3: I think I think a lot of teams are gonna say, hey,
- 11:14Speaker 3: this is something he's gonna get better from.
- 11:15Speaker 2: He's good now, he's going to be hopefully have a
- 11:17Speaker 2: long career. Yeah, well, we wish all the l few players,
- 11:19Speaker 2: of course, at the Best this week, I do want
- 11:22Speaker 2: to talk about another pretty famous injury in another completely
- 11:26Speaker 2: different sport. Lindsey Vaughan broker leg and I'm sure I
- 11:29Speaker 2: think we've probably talked a little bit about it with
- 11:31Speaker 2: you on the show. But recently she's had I think
- 11:35Speaker 2: six or seven surgeries so far since she has famously
- 11:39Speaker 2: broken her leg thirteen seconds into her first run during competition.
- 11:43Speaker 2: You know, not the rumor, but it had been reported
- 11:47Speaker 2: ACL injury the week before, obviously a terrible injury. I
- 11:52Speaker 2: think I looked through the list. I couldn't find it
- 11:54Speaker 2: this morning, but it was like broken tibia, torn, ac raptured, ACL,
- 11:57Speaker 2: like it's like a list of seven or eight things
- 11:59Speaker 2: on that line that happened. She has come out since then.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I think she posted an Instagram post that said that
- 12:07Speaker 2: the doctor we were close to having to amputate my
- 12:10Speaker 2: leg because the injuries were so severe. The doctor that
- 12:14Speaker 2: did the procedure basically saved my leg. And I had this,
- 12:18Speaker 2: I saw it, read this an incredible quote this morning,
- 12:21Speaker 2: quote from Wendsey Vaughn. He cut both sides of my
- 12:24Speaker 2: leg kind of pilated open, so to speak, to let
- 12:27Speaker 2: it breathe, and that was part of the surgery that
- 12:33Speaker 2: kind of saved her leg from having to be ampty
- 12:35Speaker 2: day Taylor. People out the picture of her x rays, Doc,
- 12:39Speaker 2: I just want to kind of talk to you about
- 12:42Speaker 2: the severity of this type of injury. Certainly this is
- 12:46Speaker 2: her X ray after post surgery, about seventeen thousand screws, nuts, bolts, plates,
- 12:52Speaker 2: the whole deal. Like, what happens in a situation like
- 12:56Speaker 2: where it's such a severe traumatic event to a leg
- 13:01Speaker 2: or a limb that has to nearly be amputated.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Well, yeah, so I think the first thing to talk
- 13:06Speaker 3: about is is she developed a condition called compartment syndrome,
- 13:10Speaker 3: and that was the first surgery they did. That was
- 13:12Speaker 3: the one that you know, ultimately saved the legs. As
- 13:15Speaker 3: she said, so, compartment syndrome is a situation that's pretty
- 13:19Speaker 3: much always going to be associated with some kind of
- 13:21Speaker 3: massive traumatic injury, a crush injury we often see so
- 13:24Speaker 3: a lot of times, like construction accidents, you worry about that,
- 13:27Speaker 3: motor vehicle accidents, But if you have an injury that
- 13:29Speaker 3: has the amount of fractures she had, you know, clearly
- 13:32Speaker 3: based on your pairriage, you can see a lot of
- 13:33Speaker 3: different fracture lines.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You're having to hold that thing in white would be
- 13:37Speaker 2: the fresh line. Yes, all that white is where you
- 13:39Speaker 2: can see that fractures kind of through there. And they
- 13:40Speaker 2: did a great job.
- 13:41Speaker 3: You know, her alignment looks great, But what happens is
- 13:44Speaker 3: you get so much bleeding in that tissue that you
- 13:46Speaker 3: end up getting a lot of swelling in the tissue.
- 13:48Speaker 3: And to recall compartment syndrome because in every muscular part
- 13:52Speaker 3: of the body you have these muscular compartments. In the
- 13:54Speaker 3: lower leg, you have four separate muscular compartments. And what
- 13:58Speaker 3: can happen in anyone, if not all of those, is
- 14:00Speaker 3: if you have so much rapid inflammation, you basically form
- 14:03Speaker 3: like a self tournique at that level wherever that inflammation is.
- 14:06Speaker 3: And so if you think about it, you're tourni getting
- 14:08Speaker 3: off or compressing off the blood flow to everything below that.
- 14:11Speaker 3: So if I suddenly increase the pressure drastically in your
- 14:14Speaker 3: leg to where the blood flow doesn't go further, everything
- 14:17Speaker 3: below that, if given the opportunity, will die. So the
- 14:20Speaker 3: procedure that she talked about where it's like they filay
- 14:22Speaker 3: her leg is called a fasciotomy. They go in, you
- 14:25Speaker 3: cut down and you basically literally just relieve the pressure.
- 14:28Speaker 3: You're you're letting that pressure out to allow blood flow to.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Leave the a cut open the leg skin and the muscles,
- 14:35Speaker 2: and it just stays open for a period of time.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Sometimes Now sometimes you just have to evacuate if there's
- 14:40Speaker 3: like a hematoma in there, so a mass of blood
- 14:42Speaker 3: that sort of coagulated it, and so a lot of
- 14:44Speaker 3: times you can go and remove that. Sometimes you'll leave
- 14:47Speaker 3: some of these things open for a bit until the
- 14:48Speaker 3: pressure can get stabilized and then close it. We'll see
- 14:51Speaker 3: that sometimes, like with major abdominal wounds, where they literally
- 14:54Speaker 3: leave your abdomen open to you know, if you have
- 14:56Speaker 3: a lot of pressure in there. So it's not just
- 14:58Speaker 3: in the legs you'll see this, but the lower leg
- 15:01Speaker 3: is one of the more common areas where people develop that.
- 15:03Speaker 3: And and again usually from a major trauma. You know,
- 15:05Speaker 3: this would obviously classify, but multiple broken bones that were displaced.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Then you got to let that sort of normalize. Then
- 15:11Speaker 3: you got to go back in and work on fixing
- 15:13Speaker 3: this thing. And that's so they go in and and
- 15:15Speaker 3: you're gonna have to repair you know, if there's any
- 15:17Speaker 3: vascular damage, you might look at that if there's any
- 15:19Speaker 3: damage the bones, you're gonna have to go back in
- 15:21Speaker 3: and sort of set those bones.
- 15:22Speaker 2: You get the plates, the screws.
- 15:23Speaker 3: You know, you don't want to do too much all
- 15:25Speaker 3: at once because it's all the swelling that can incur.
- 15:27Speaker 3: So sometimes a step, step by step process.
- 15:29Speaker 2: So what would the fasciotomy like? So what would the
- 15:31Speaker 2: first surgery be? So if she had six, I think like, yeah,
- 15:33Speaker 2: the last I read it was six. It might be
- 15:35Speaker 2: more now, but what like what does that step process?
- 15:37Speaker 3: So definitely the first one's got to be the fasciaout
- 15:39Speaker 3: of it that you're you're working against o'clock when you
- 15:41Speaker 3: know you only have a very limited timeframe as that
- 15:43Speaker 3: pressure goes up.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Come here, you think about it.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Your tissue can only go so long without oxygen, and
- 15:47Speaker 3: you might get a little bit of blood flow in
- 15:49Speaker 3: these compartment sents, but it's such a limited amount.
- 15:51Speaker 2: That's the number one priority.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Then once you kind of get the patients stable, then
- 15:56Speaker 3: we figure out, okay, is there is there other things
- 15:58Speaker 3: that need to be fixed? And obviously you're gonna you're
- 16:00Speaker 3: gonna stage these things with the worst case scenarios and
- 16:02Speaker 3: then work your way down. Let's let's focus on the
- 16:04Speaker 3: big injuries. Let's focus on the things that could cause
- 16:06Speaker 3: you to lose the limb. Was there a blood vessel?
- 16:08Speaker 3: Is damage that we need to go and repair, and
- 16:10Speaker 3: so a lot of times you're gonna get a vascular
- 16:11Speaker 3: surgeon involved with that. A lot of times these aren't
- 16:13Speaker 3: just done by the orthopedists. You're gonna have sometimes multiple
- 16:16Speaker 3: and you know, different specialists that are going to be
- 16:18Speaker 3: in there, and then and then you work your way down,
- 16:20Speaker 3: you know, to each one that you can fix and
- 16:22Speaker 3: and all this. You know, you got to kind of
- 16:25Speaker 3: there's not necessarily a specific order. I think you got
- 16:28Speaker 3: to take it case by case, but you got to
- 16:29Speaker 3: look at what the most serious things are and then
- 16:31Speaker 3: you kind of work down that list. Taylor, can you
- 16:34Speaker 3: put another picture of her in her hospital? I was
- 16:36Speaker 3: I was curious because I've just this type of injury.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I was curious as to what these this contraption is
- 16:42Speaker 3: right here as I'm assuming it's some sort of stabilization,
- 16:44Speaker 3: you can see that her leg is like cut open
- 16:46Speaker 3: right there. Yes, so a lot of times they'll do
- 16:48Speaker 3: different versions of that, some type of you know, external fixator.
- 16:51Speaker 3: It's gonna be something that sits outside the body. External
- 16:53Speaker 3: that's going to stabilize and hold your leg or your
- 16:56Speaker 3: arm or whatever it.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Is in place.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Most commonly we see these in leg injuries most common
- 17:00Speaker 3: the complex fractures, uh, and a lot of times these
- 17:02Speaker 3: are even attached to the person's bones and things like that.
- 17:06Speaker 3: You can see in the ends where it's actually it's
- 17:08Speaker 3: actually kind of pinned into like was is this attached
- 17:11Speaker 3: to her? Or the bed like is that's attached to her?
- 17:14Speaker 3: And then and so that's part of a surgery too,
- 17:15Speaker 3: and then you don't have to go and remove that.
- 17:17Speaker 3: So that's a procedure in and of itself, because this
- 17:19Speaker 3: thing is literally externally fixated. That's why I call it
- 17:21Speaker 3: an external fixation. So it's external to the body, but
- 17:24Speaker 3: it's fixed to the individual's bones and injuries and basically
- 17:27Speaker 3: just to hold everything in place so that it can
- 17:30Speaker 3: heal appropriately. You know, it's these are I mean, that's
- 17:33Speaker 3: a big big Have you ever had something this this personally? No,
- 17:38Speaker 3: I'm not, but but thankfully you know, it's something we'll
- 17:41Speaker 3: see sometimes and it's it's you know, again, most of
- 17:44Speaker 3: the times you see these types of injuries, big traumas,
- 17:47Speaker 3: car accidents, right, you know, construction injuries, Like I was
- 17:49Speaker 3: saying earlier, people had a big fall off of something.
- 17:52Speaker 3: But you'll see them sometimes in sports obviously, but it's
- 17:54Speaker 3: fortunately not something we see a lot in sports.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Something like this that much Metalenia. Is she gonna ski?
- 18:02Speaker 2: I mean obviously a competition that at less, she's forty one,
- 18:05Speaker 2: she had this injury, but like, is there gonna be
- 18:07Speaker 2: long term like limping? She ever gonna go skis again?
- 18:10Speaker 2: You know, you you hope, you hope the best.
- 18:13Speaker 3: And we've definitely seen circumstances where people have come back
- 18:16Speaker 3: from really crazy injuries. But I will say it's a
- 18:22Speaker 3: reasonable possibility that.
- 18:23Speaker 2: This will be going to be a painful situation.
- 18:25Speaker 3: It's gonna it's gonna cause a lot of pain. It's
- 18:26Speaker 3: gonna cause her issues probably the rest of her life. Now,
- 18:29Speaker 3: could I see a scenario where she really battles back
- 18:31Speaker 3: and as a rehab warrior and is able to at
- 18:33Speaker 3: least live a pretty normal life, maybe even ski maybe
- 18:36Speaker 3: not competitively obviously, Yeah, I could see that, you know,
- 18:39Speaker 3: I mean, but it's it's it's gonna be a big process.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure it's a painful situation, and it was
- 18:45Speaker 2: inspiring to see her compete, certainly, and heartbreaking to see
- 18:49Speaker 2: her injury like that. But I think she's the type
- 18:52Speaker 2: of competitor that she's certainly going to uh go out
- 18:55Speaker 2: on her shield if she has to, which she did,
- 18:58Speaker 2: so we wish her speedy or as fast as you
- 19:02Speaker 2: can recovery, hopefully over the least she's got the leg still, Yeah,
- 19:05Speaker 2: sounds a good thing. Scary stuff right there, But Doc,
- 19:07Speaker 2: we thank you for your time as always every week. Man,
- 19:10Speaker 2: thank you. Thanks for the insight too. That was awesome,
- 19:11Speaker 2: my pleasure. All right, guys, well, got a lot of
- 19:14Speaker 2: show left for you, got a great show left for you,
- 19:16Speaker 2: So stick with us right here, health the.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Minch off the bench.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I go to Russell Pools dot com Russell pool Company,
- 19:25Speaker 2: best staring company around. When it comes to custom pools.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Whatever it is, if you can dream it, they can
- 19:30Speaker 2: build it. They can absolutely. They can draw it first,
- 19:33Speaker 2: they can engineer it, they can put it on a blueprint.
- 19:36Speaker 2: They can design it perfectly around your knees. They tailored
- 19:38Speaker 2: around your knees. They got two landscape architects right there
- 19:40Speaker 2: on staff. So what does that mean for you? It
- 19:43Speaker 2: means you don't have to go and find an architect
- 19:45Speaker 2: or a landscape architect and get them to do it,
- 19:48Speaker 2: and then bring your pictures over there to a pool
- 19:50Speaker 2: company and then they try to rearrange it and engineer
- 19:52Speaker 2: it themselves. It's just a mess. So go to the
- 19:54Speaker 2: pool company that's got too right there on staff. They
- 19:56Speaker 2: can do everything. You can. Go and you can show
- 19:58Speaker 2: them your Instagram feed or your Pinterest account, whatever it is.
- 20:01Speaker 2: These are the pictures I like. I want this, I
- 20:03Speaker 2: want I want a lazy river, I want a grotto.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I want some fire. Can I get a hot tub? Somebody?
- 20:09Speaker 2: They can do anything you want. Maybe you just want
- 20:10Speaker 2: to square pool. It doesn't matter, whatever the budget is,
- 20:13Speaker 2: whatever your needs are. Russell Pool Company is the answer.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Russell Pools dot Com.

- 23:05Speaker 5: him on a fr answers the phone. Hailandra, just super happy.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I'm like, he sh wow, afternoon.
- 23:15Speaker 5: You didn't want to hailandro me whenever I called you
- 23:18Speaker 5: for O T B and you goods.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Come on.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I don't even want to throw shade right now. But
- 23:29Speaker 2: you know, maybe it's just not a morning guy.
- 23:32Speaker 1: No.
- 23:32Speaker 4: I think what did he say that the meeting went along?
- 23:36Speaker 2: He was like, I was afraid to even like answer
- 23:38Speaker 2: your call.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Jake, thinking about texting you all.
- 23:43Speaker 6: Shaye, Jake. You know, like it's it's really important these
- 23:46Speaker 6: guys remember where they came from. And it's just disappointing
- 23:50Speaker 6: that those guys that have these lsu tis.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Kind of abandoned people in the time I need they
- 23:55Speaker 2: do out of the Fox al and they try to
- 23:58Speaker 2: come back in eight eighty say, we're just kidding.
- 24:04Speaker 4: We love you, We love you, Shay.
- 24:06Speaker 2: You do great work except that one day, except for
- 24:08Speaker 2: that one time you didn't come on a show.
- 24:10Speaker 4: And are we going to keep harping on it? Yes,
- 24:12Speaker 4: it's what we do.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I mean, three years from now we're talking about Wait, yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 2: we don't drop them. No, we're petty, and I'm fine
- 24:19Speaker 2: with that. Pet Hey, that was fascinating stuff from doc. Oh. Yeah,
- 24:24Speaker 2: I like that surgery, the fasciotomy. I guess, like looking back,
- 24:31Speaker 2: I guess I've heard of that before. But my god,
- 24:33Speaker 2: there was another picture of her in the hospital bed
- 24:36Speaker 2: where it was like her leg was like split open,
- 24:39Speaker 2: like twelve inches at least.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Wait, so it showed it that graphic.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Well, she had posted it or something.
- 24:44Speaker 4: She posted a picture her leg. Well, don't pull it up.
- 24:48Speaker 2: I saw it. I saw it on the socials and
- 24:51Speaker 2: I tried to I tried to find it this morning. Yeah,
- 24:54Speaker 2: and I couldn't find it. So I don't know if
- 24:56Speaker 2: they got edited or what.
- 24:57Speaker 6: Dude, Guaranty he's gonna look at my search industry. This
- 25:00Speaker 6: wanting to be like yo.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Yeah, send her like dot com.
- 25:04Speaker 6: Random random, white guy dot com Lindsay von leg split open.
- 25:08Speaker 6: We're gonna be like Taylor Lindsay von Legs split.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Guys.
- 25:14Speaker 6: I'm going through some stuff.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Okay, all right, hey, hand in the air. What'd you say?
- 25:19Speaker 7: The other?
- 25:20Speaker 2: Chest op? Chestp chest up. I forgot to send Coach
- 25:24Speaker 2: Mokey a little text will remind her. So we're gonna
- 25:28Speaker 2: at the break here, we're gonna we're gonna call her. Okay,
- 25:31Speaker 2: get her on.
- 25:32Speaker 4: For the best.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I hope for the best.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Text.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I do need to give her a little check,
- 25:36Speaker 2: a little text.
- 25:37Speaker 5: Wit. She said you didn't have her number. I just
- 25:39Speaker 5: sent it to you and I had just sent it to.
- 25:41Speaker 2: The text and sure. Yeah, So I will send her
- 25:45Speaker 2: text and we are.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Going to Did you send it just now?
- 25:48Speaker 2: No? Because I'm talking right now.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Okay, Well send it right now. I will fill the
- 25:53Speaker 5: dead air space while you send her a text, because
- 25:56Speaker 5: sending her a text right before we call her is
- 25:58Speaker 5: not the move.
- 26:00Speaker 6: Get ready, get ready to coach. You're about to call
- 26:02Speaker 6: you about forty.
- 26:05Speaker 5: So do you need me to text Jay Johnson today
- 26:08Speaker 5: or do you do you need his number?
- 26:10Speaker 4: And do you want to tell?
- 26:11Speaker 3: What?
- 26:11Speaker 4: Do we could? Jake Clark is ready to go Friday.
- 26:14Speaker 4: He knows Fridays are his thing.
- 26:16Speaker 6: Now, Friday's Jake Clark, Friday, j Clarkark, he claimed it.
- 26:21Speaker 5: Jay Johnson is supposed to come on tomorrow.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Do you want to text him or do you need
- 26:27Speaker 4: me to?
- 26:27Speaker 2: I'll text him.
- 26:28Speaker 6: Okay, Well you're going to get him tomorrow.
- 26:31Speaker 4: His number right now, you're gonna get.
- 26:33Speaker 2: It's mostly not my job. The texting is usually Jake
- 26:35Speaker 2: does it. So you know Dad's not here this week.
- 26:38Speaker 5: I told you when Jake leaves it, his mom left
- 26:42Speaker 5: the kids home with dad.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Energy all right, we're going to see. If we don't,
- 26:49Speaker 2: we will try to. It might not be next segment,
- 26:51Speaker 2: but we will do our best here.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Stick with us here, were were already breaking.
- 26:59Speaker 2: The integrity. I like it, yeah, right off the pitch.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Off the bench. Off the bench presented by Hood Dental and.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Had you wing.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Busy?
- 27:37Speaker 2: All right, welcome back here off the bench. Wednesday shows
- 27:41Speaker 2: brought to you by Hood Dental. Go schedule you a

- 27:54Speaker 2: these good little little signs by itis there. It looks good.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Taylor said he last went to Hoo Dental fifteen years ago.
- 28:07Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I went to Hidental though. It was a great experience.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I test that. Guys. Yeah, saw me the late text.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I have not heard back. We're going to try to
- 28:27Speaker 2: get coach kim Olki on the show at some point. Yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 2: we are going to wait here. We just didn't want
- 28:32Speaker 2: to call her out of the blue without a confirmation
- 28:35Speaker 2: text first, so we will uh try to get here
- 28:38Speaker 2: on the line. And that's all me. Guess you didn't
- 28:41Speaker 2: want a cold call you, Well, I just think I
- 28:44Speaker 2: didn't want a cold call.
- 28:45Speaker 5: You subconsciously did this because you're scared to interview her.
- 28:51Speaker 2: No, no, you got to make up for.
- 28:53Speaker 6: Your confusion class that you are scared.
- 28:56Speaker 4: No intimidate.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I'm a little intimidated. I gotta be honest.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Feels like it stems from a place of fear.
- 29:04Speaker 2: No, I don't have fear mhm, just nerves. H fear Not.
- 29:08Speaker 6: You just want to be you want to be great
- 29:10Speaker 6: for coaches, she's great.
- 29:14Speaker 5: Fear of not being great? It all stems from fear. Mm,
- 29:21Speaker 5: fear of embarrassing yourself.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Just a little intimidated. Okay, because I have so much
- 29:26Speaker 2: respect for her.
- 29:28Speaker 4: You respect her so much, you're scared of her.
- 29:30Speaker 2: No, No, not scared. She's very nice.
- 29:34Speaker 1: She is.
- 29:40Speaker 2: So maybe maybe subconsciously, Yeah, I really did. I was
- 29:43Speaker 2: trying to forget to say her number last time. That's
- 29:46Speaker 2: on me again, chest out, that's on me. Guys. We're
- 29:50Speaker 2: still learning. This is you know, we've we've done the
- 29:52Speaker 2: foxhole enough, the tripod, the tripod, we've done it a

- 31:19Speaker 2: you are backed by the best knows Pelican Roof. Go
- 31:21Speaker 2: to pelicanroof dot com. Some interesting stuff happening in college
- 31:27Speaker 2: sports right now. College football. Certainly, we watched the drama
- 31:31Speaker 2: play out with Trinidad Chambliss over at Old Miss trying
- 31:34Speaker 2: to get his I've never seen a player not want
- 31:37Speaker 2: to go to the NFL so bad than Trinidad Chambliss.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Of course, I think it was denied six times, is
- 31:42Speaker 2: that right? Six times for you know, for obvious reasons. Finally,
- 31:47Speaker 2: some some local court decided to grant him that extra year. Certainly,
- 31:51Speaker 2: it's something that NCAA has has fought and tried to
- 31:56Speaker 2: fought but has not been successful. We saw it last
- 32:00Speaker 2: year with Diego Pavia getting an extra year of eligibility. Well,
- 32:04Speaker 2: recently we saw NCAA finally got a win. I got
- 32:09Speaker 2: an old notch on the belt. Joey Aguilar with Tennessee
- 32:11Speaker 2: he was seeking the same type of extension as Diego Pavia. Now,
- 32:16Speaker 2: which differs a little bit from from Trinidad Chandels's case,
- 32:21Speaker 2: because it wasn't you know, it wasn't a JUCO situation. Well,
- 32:24Speaker 2: Joey Aguilars was, and it was very similar to that
- 32:27Speaker 2: of Diego Pavia. But the court's rule that he does
- 32:31Speaker 2: not they did not grant him an extra year of eligibility,
- 32:34Speaker 2: and the same thing is happening right now with or
- 32:37Speaker 2: a similar type situations happening with Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris,
- 32:40Speaker 2: who was seeking a seventh year, seventh year as quarterback,
- 32:47Speaker 2: and he's twenty five years old. At some point, these
- 32:51Speaker 2: guys just, I know the money is there in college
- 32:53Speaker 2: football now. I know there's life changing money to be
- 32:56Speaker 2: made as well. And I think that there's a lot
- 33:00Speaker 2: of people, especially with the Joey Aguilar case at Tennessee,
- 33:02Speaker 2: saying this is good, this is n c A A
- 33:05Speaker 2: good for you, you got one, But it also doesn't
- 33:09Speaker 2: make sense because the precedent has already been set. Why
- 33:13Speaker 2: is it. Why is the playing field and the rules
- 33:15Speaker 2: different from one person that is another Now, I don't know,
- 33:18Speaker 2: and I don't know if anybody really knows. Like the minute,
- 33:21Speaker 2: the minutia of all the details of the case of
- 33:25Speaker 2: you know what, Diego Pavia was arguing about his JUCO
- 33:28Speaker 2: experience compared to Joey Aguilar's, like, we don't know those
- 33:32Speaker 2: specific details, but when you look at it from an
- 33:35Speaker 2: overhead view, you look at it as a as a
- 33:38Speaker 2: as a whole, they look really similar. So why is
- 33:41Speaker 2: it different from one person to another? And I think
- 33:45Speaker 2: we all want the NCAA to have more power. We
- 33:47Speaker 2: all we all want the the bumpers a little bit
- 33:51Speaker 2: more guard rails on college football. College football is a mess.
- 33:56Speaker 2: It's still a beautiful game. It's a beautiful sport when
- 33:59Speaker 2: the lights go on and the balls kicked off, But
- 34:01Speaker 2: in between those moments, it's an absolute disaster right now.
- 34:06Speaker 2: So we want those guardrails. But why is it different
- 34:09Speaker 2: between one case to the next. And I don't have
- 34:14Speaker 2: that answer for you. It just adds on to most
- 34:17Speaker 2: people's opinion on that college football is absolutely drunk and
- 34:22Speaker 2: there's nobody knows what's going on. Nobody knows what the
- 34:24Speaker 2: exact rules are. What do y'all think? What do y'all think?
- 34:28Speaker 2: What's the difference do you do you know any specific
- 34:30Speaker 2: differences between Joey Aguilar's case and Diego Pavia. It's it's the.
- 34:34Speaker 6: Same, which is why I always thought he was going
- 34:36Speaker 6: to get eligibility, Like I didn't think Trinidad Shambla's had
- 34:39Speaker 6: a leg to stand on. He played at Farri State
- 34:41Speaker 6: for three years, that's under the NCAAA umbrella. Plays at
- 34:44Speaker 6: Old miss that's four years. Boom, move on. Like they
- 34:47Speaker 6: ruled last year, junior college is not under the NCAA umbrella,
- 34:52Speaker 6: you can get an extra year. Diego Pavia did so
- 34:55Speaker 6: all of a sudden. Joey Aguilar, who played two years
- 34:59Speaker 6: at Apple Atta in State, played one year at Tennessee.
- 35:02Speaker 6: That's three years under the NCAA umbrella. Before that, he
- 35:05Speaker 6: played at Diablo Valley Community College, which is in Juco,
- 35:10Speaker 6: but his Juco counts in Diego. Pobvius doesn't. Why now,
- 35:14Speaker 6: I'll give the Joey Aguilar, Diablo Valley, Diablo Valley.
- 35:17Speaker 2: The Devil's Valley.
- 35:18Speaker 6: It is, it is, and maybe maybe that's what the
- 35:21Speaker 6: issue was. But I'll give him credit. He actually signed
- 35:24Speaker 6: up for the combine. What he was planning on doing
- 35:27Speaker 6: was participated in the combine for a forty eight hour window.
- 35:31Speaker 6: That way, if he would have became eligible, he still
- 35:34Speaker 6: could have went back. He'll probably participated in full five days.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Now say that again, he could you could go to
- 35:40Speaker 2: the combine for forty eight hours, eight.
- 35:41Speaker 6: Hour window while waiting for his appeal. Because anything beyond that,
- 35:46Speaker 6: if he would have stayed in the NFL combine, beyond that,
- 35:49Speaker 6: he would have been ineligible.
- 35:50Speaker 2: He would have been like declared a professional. Correct forty
- 35:53Speaker 2: you can go forty eight hours at the Combine without
- 35:55Speaker 2: being a professional.
- 35:56Speaker 6: Apparently so, but now he's probably going to participate that
- 36:00Speaker 6: so credit to him for not being scared to go
- 36:03Speaker 6: to the NFL. He actually signed up for the combine.
- 36:05Speaker 6: But I mean, you let Diego Pavia get an extra
- 36:08Speaker 6: year of eligibility and basically the exact same circumstances, you
- 36:12Speaker 6: let Trinidad Shambliss hang around just because what you feel
- 36:15Speaker 6: bad for Ole Miss because they lost Lane Kiffin and
- 36:17Speaker 6: they needed a win. Like, I don't really understand how
- 36:20Speaker 6: you give both of those guys elgibent. I'm good with
- 36:23Speaker 6: the NCAA getting a win. I think the NCAA should
- 36:25Speaker 6: get a lot more wins, But the fact that you
- 36:28Speaker 6: give it to two guys and not the other one,
- 36:30Speaker 6: it's just kind of confuse it.
- 36:31Speaker 5: Like I was gonna say, I don't know what the
- 36:33Speaker 5: difference I'm trying to like read up on it with
- 36:37Speaker 5: Pavia and Aguilar is. The difference of Trinidad Chambliss is
- 36:40Speaker 5: that he found a judge that was an All Miss fan.
- 36:42Speaker 5: That's what the difference of Trinidad. Chambliss was and he
- 36:44Speaker 5: wasn't a Juco guy.
- 36:46Speaker 4: No, right, he wasn't, which like makes it worse.
- 36:50Speaker 2: To stand.
- 36:51Speaker 4: But as for Pavia and Aguilar, I'm not really.
- 36:54Speaker 5: They do have like the basically the same argument, so
- 36:59Speaker 5: I guess they were. Really he just depends on that.
- 37:01Speaker 5: That's who you get as a judge.
- 37:03Speaker 2: See, that's what I would, Yeah, because like if something happens,
- 37:06Speaker 2: like in a federal quarter or state court, and there's
- 37:08Speaker 2: a ruling based on something, there's precedent set and that's
- 37:11Speaker 2: how it goes until if something crazy happens and a
- 37:14Speaker 2: case is proven that resets that. President and la. Look,
- 37:17Speaker 2: you're an attorney out there. What I might come off
- 37:20Speaker 2: as an idiot here, but they were. I'm assuming that
- 37:23Speaker 2: they were both courts in the state of Tennessee. Now
- 37:26Speaker 2: maybe Pavia's court case was somewhere else, but I'm pretty
- 37:29Speaker 2: sure is Tennessee right now.
- 37:30Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure there was because he filed his first
- 37:33Speaker 6: year after he played a vantitae. Because here's a Vandy
- 37:35Speaker 6: two years remember, So like, yeah, everyone said, oh, well,
- 37:38Speaker 6: this could be a state by state basis. This doesn't
- 37:41Speaker 6: necessary you have to be a national thing. In the
- 37:42Speaker 6: same damn state.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Well that and that, well that at that point is
- 37:46Speaker 2: it a county by county?
- 37:47Speaker 5: Basically I'm thinking too because like the obviously Joey Aguilars
- 37:51Speaker 5: in Knoxville and then Nashville for Diego Pavia.
- 37:56Speaker 4: So I'm I mean, I don't know, it must be it's.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Stupid, right, Like I don't like the I don't want
- 38:01Speaker 2: to use that word. I tell my kids not to
- 38:03Speaker 2: use that word. But like it's really dumb.
- 38:05Speaker 6: It's stupid.
- 38:06Speaker 2: There is just makes me more mad about college football
- 38:12Speaker 2: right now.
- 38:14Speaker 6: Even when you think there's precedence and rules, they're still
- 38:17Speaker 6: just going to change it anytime they feel like, oh,
- 38:20Speaker 6: it's kind of fun for us to do that.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Let's know that. Yeah, that judge was a not a
- 38:26Speaker 2: volunteer fan.
- 38:27Speaker 6: Well, and credit to Tennessee, like they got Georgia mcintter
- 38:31Speaker 6: who's been developing there. They brought in Ryan Stabb, who
- 38:34Speaker 6: did visit LSU. I guess you just went to Tennessee
- 38:36Speaker 6: because he thought there was a better chance of him
- 38:38Speaker 6: to be a starter. So they had a little bit
- 38:39Speaker 6: of contingency plans preparing for this. It's so did agular,
- 38:42Speaker 6: but it's just find me the rhym of reason, bond
- 38:46Speaker 6: the whole thing.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Yep. About Chandler Morris.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Seventh year or just put the fries in the bag.
- 38:54Speaker 6: And you know, Matt, I hate to pick on your
- 38:56Speaker 6: former position, but like, can these quarterbacks move the hell
- 38:59Speaker 6: the one? It's all a quarterback.
- 39:01Speaker 2: It's all about the quarterback.
- 39:02Speaker 6: I mean, but like, move on.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Life's about quarterbacks. Bud twenty five, seventh year. I'm assuming
- 39:11Speaker 2: there's a COVID year there still.
- 39:13Speaker 6: And then twenty twenty two he apparently filed for a
- 39:15Speaker 6: medical and didn't get it back when he was a TCU.
- 39:18Speaker 6: I talked about a little bit last week. There's a
- 39:20Speaker 6: guy who plays a linebacker from Montana. He got a
- 39:22Speaker 6: ninth year of eligibility because he had like four season
- 39:26Speaker 6: or four or five season Indian injury. So this is
- 39:29Speaker 6: his ninth year. He'll be tenured at the University of Montana.
- 39:32Speaker 6: Before he leaves, he's teaching classes there.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Huh. The only one that I can potentially give an
- 39:43Speaker 2: excuse to is Trinidad Chambliss, because I think I brought
- 39:47Speaker 2: this up before a couple of weeks ago. I know
- 39:50Speaker 2: that the emotional reaction, the knee jerk reaction of ole
- 39:53Speaker 2: Miss fans and boosters, certainly the people that are given money,
- 39:57Speaker 2: that are guaranteeing all this money. The emotion reaction to
- 40:00Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin leaving would be like whatever it takes, like
- 40:03Speaker 2: you have my full support, you have my full checkbook.
- 40:07Speaker 2: I'll do whatever I can to keep it. And then,
- 40:09Speaker 2: especially when they're talking about your star quarterback leaving to
- 40:12Speaker 2: join Lane, they're like, whatever it takes, whatever amount of
- 40:15Speaker 2: money it is, there's not enough commas that are gonna
- 40:17Speaker 2: let him go to LSU. Like I could see that
- 40:20Speaker 2: plan out and them saying, look, Trinidad, we are going
- 40:24Speaker 2: if you don't go to LSU, we're gonna give you
- 40:25Speaker 2: ten million plus. I could see that happening. Like it
- 40:28Speaker 2: sounds like a far fetched number, but I can see
- 40:31Speaker 2: in the emotional windfall after Lane Kiffin leaves and the
- 40:37Speaker 2: rumor the rumors were everywhere Trinidad's going to LSU, he's
- 40:39Speaker 2: gonna be talking to if he gets his extra year,
- 40:41Speaker 2: blah blah blah. I can see them saying Nope, We're
- 40:43Speaker 2: gonna do whatever it takes. And the rumors of Miami
- 40:46Speaker 2: trying to offer Tye Simpson seven million to stay in
- 40:50Speaker 2: college and go to Miami, and he turned it down.
- 40:53Speaker 2: But like that number is starting to tick up, at
- 40:56Speaker 2: least from the rumors. I don't think any of that
- 40:58Speaker 2: was ever confirmed, but I could certainly see a situation
- 41:01Speaker 2: where a ten million plus number, and so at that
- 41:04Speaker 2: point I can say, Okay, yeah, Trinidad, go fight your
- 41:07Speaker 2: court battles, go six, get the night six times, to
- 41:09Speaker 2: keep trying, because that's a big number. Especially the kid
- 41:13Speaker 2: that age confidence certainly thinks he can improve or at
- 41:16Speaker 2: least perform at the same level that he did towards
- 41:19Speaker 2: the end of the season and slid ify himself as
- 41:22Speaker 2: a first round pick next year. So that is an
- 41:23Speaker 2: understandable city. I think we can all agree that I'm
- 41:26Speaker 2: fighting so especially not paying for these court battles. I'll
- 41:28Speaker 2: fight them if I'm gonna get ten million plus. Of
- 41:31Speaker 2: course that's not a it hadn't been reported. I'm just
- 41:33Speaker 2: saying I could see a world in which that number
- 41:35Speaker 2: was floated around. In the emotional backlash from Lane Kiff,
- 41:41Speaker 2: I mean, just.
- 41:41Speaker 6: Go to the league. Though, like you were like, oh,
- 41:42Speaker 6: he could be a first round pick next year. He
- 41:44Speaker 6: could have been a first round pick this year. It
- 41:45Speaker 6: could as if they suck. They have a brand new
- 41:47Speaker 6: coaching staff. We don't know, but it might be guaranteed
- 41:49Speaker 6: ten million plus. That's i'd like to see. I'd love
- 41:52Speaker 6: to be a fly on the wall in those conversations.
- 41:58Speaker 6: I'm gonna go to break here.
- 41:59Speaker 2: We're gonna try to keep our Clark can tell you

- 43:58Speaker 7: After how many games? Eight games baseball LSU baseball? Seven games?
- 44:01Speaker 6: I mean he's the best player so far, my best
- 44:04Speaker 6: I mean Dardur has succeeded everybody's expectations.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Orys had a lot of homers.
- 44:09Speaker 6: Jack Brown been great well.
- 44:11Speaker 5: Not only that about York being good at the plate,
- 44:13Speaker 5: like he has been solid.
- 44:15Speaker 4: At first base, like very solid.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Fo Dingers.
- 44:20Speaker 6: All the Cooper more just because starting pitchon has been
- 44:23Speaker 6: really good.
- 44:24Speaker 4: That's a good question. I don't know.
- 44:26Speaker 2: All right, we're gonna close that out number two when
- 44:28Speaker 2: we come back. Coach Kim Molk, you joined the show
