- 0:17can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:19I played 82 games. You don't see the fun doing
- 0:22that, but Jack Hughes did after getting his teeth knocked out
- 0:25and played every single shift he got back in the game.

- 2:48worldwidesportsradio.com. It is warm here in Long Island,
- 2:53New York. It's 83° today.
- 2:55It's been unbelievable. Now we're we're driving this
- 2:58summer. I hate the hot weather.
- 3:01There's no air conditioning on right now because I don't have
- 3:04central air. We have to get ready to put the
- 3:06air conditionings in the in the windows and all that other
- 3:09stuff. I know everybody out there.
- 3:10You live in a really nice neighborhood.
- 3:12Once you have central air, you got to have to ask my landlord
- 3:14for that. But no, no central air here,
- 3:18here at the Worldwide Sports Radio Network studios.
- 3:21But it it's still cool down here.
- 3:23It's about 69°. But it's horrible outside.
- 3:26I don't like this weather. I do not like the summer.
- 3:28I don't like swimming pools. I don't like the beach.
- 3:31As everybody sits here and says, oh, I can't wait until the the
- 3:35beach. Yeah.
- 3:35But anyways, that is my thing. How about in Georgia?
- 3:38What is the weather over there in Georgia?
- 3:40Super hot, it's like 99°, but the only thing down here is this
- 3:45pollen season, so that's what you got to worry about down
- 3:47here, so. Do you have central air?
- 3:49Hot over seasonal allergies? Do you have central air?
- 3:53Yeah, I. Do of course you got to brag
- 3:55about that. You always got to brag about it,
- 3:57Yeah. Well, yeah, Why wouldn't I?
- 3:58Why wouldn't I? Well, I don't understand why you
- 4:00don't. That's a lot of people would say
- 4:02the same thing, but I do not have central air here, but I
- 4:05will have the air conditionings in don't worry about.
- 4:08That when, when, so we can know. Probably in a week, usually a
- 4:12week when it when it stays this hot and this humid.
- 4:16I hate when the bugs come out. I hate the different mosquitoes
- 4:19and the fleas. When you have dogs and cats.
- 4:21I don't have any animals, so I, I don't have to deal with the,
- 4:24the insects living on my animals.
- 4:27But you don't like it. Then the I saw moths today.
- 4:30I don't like moths. And then they have those little
- 4:33what are those things right now that come from down South that
- 4:36eat away on the plants and the wines?
- 4:38No, no, no, I forget what they call them, but they're like fly.
- 4:41They look like moths, but they're not moths, but you see
- 4:45them a lot. I no, they're not butterflies.
- 4:47I I forget what they're called, but it it is.
- 4:49Brutal. I guess yeah, the stink bug, I
- 4:53guess that's what it is. They fly all over the place.
- 4:56They eat away on the wineries. The wineries can't stand it out
- 4:59here. I can't stand it because they're
- 5:02so quick. They have like quicker reflexes
- 5:04than we we do. I I try to step on them and they
- 5:07just automatically can move. They have like this, this
- 5:12flexibility. I I don't know, I've never seen
- 5:14anything like it. These insects are the most ugly,
- 5:17ridiculous things. And again.
- 5:19They leave a older though. If you kill them, they leave a
- 5:21older. Yeah, I hear about it.
- 5:23It invites other stink bugs to come, so you got to be careful
- 5:26when you kill them. Well, thanks.
- 5:28Thank you. We got Mr. Mr. Bug man over
- 5:31here, Mr. Insect. Insect Man, Mr. Terminator.
- 5:37I don't know. I just can't stand this weather.
- 5:39I can't wait until the fall, the winter time.
- 5:42What? Yeah, I can't wait for it.
- 5:44I, I I can't stand this time. The spring this time is.
- 5:48Horrible. This weather is not my thing.
- 5:50I don't I don't like it. Anybody that knows me, I can't
- 5:53stand Florida weather, I can't stand California weather.
- 5:56I can't stand Texas weather because it's just and even I've
- 6:00been to Arizona, I've been to Las Vegas, I don't like that
- 6:03weather either. So.
- 6:04Desert heat, that's different. Yeah, that's way different and
- 6:06high. That's desert heat.
- 6:07Yeah, you're right. Desert heat and and you got to
- 6:10deal with bugs here in Long Island, all bugs.
- 6:13When the pools open up, these insects in these termites and
- 6:17all these other stuff, they're living and they're hibernating.
- 6:20And then they come out after after the summer comes out and
- 6:23it's hot and warm and disgusting and you got to deal with all
- 6:27those bugs. So it's not something I look
- 6:29forward to. But anyways.
- 6:31And now, ladies and gentlemen, Concrete jungle.
- 6:33Welcome to the jungle. Welcome.
- 6:42I'm trying to put Tiger Bomb on this jungle's nuts to the
- 6:44concrete jungle carousel. You're going to die.
- 6:53Anyone. Let's get it going on the
- 6:56concrete jungle carousel, guys. That means we're going.
- 7:00To be going. To all of the tri-state areas
- 7:03latest news and notes. We get the Yankees and Mets
- 7:07notes to start off the carousel tonight.
- 7:10I guess we'll start with the good news.
- 7:12You got a big torso. The good news is Garrett Cole is
- 7:15making his rehabs. The first rehab start right now
- 7:18he's got on a AA Somerset. He's going to throw around 40
- 7:21pitches. He had two Springs training
- 7:23starts, 1 inning and one and 2/3.
- 7:25This is his first live game action since spring training.
- 7:29On the other news, the Yankees and Max Freed got roughed up a
- 7:32little bit today. Freed kind of lost it in the 6th
- 7:34inning. They lost 11 to 4 to the Angels.
- 7:38Then they end up splitting that series.
- 7:41Not an inspiring series. They won their two games by one
- 7:43run, but then they got blown out in the other two.
- 7:47I I'll say this, they need Cole to come back.
- 7:49They need to start figuring out what's going on with that
- 7:52bullpen. That bullpen's been horrible and
- 7:54and they need some depth there. So they need to move some of
- 7:57these starting pitchers, maybe a WAR in, maybe Schmidt coming
- 8:01back. They need to solidify their
- 8:03bullpen. It's been a big problem so far
- 8:05early this season. The starting pitchers will go 5
- 8:081/2 innings and then there's bullpen comes in and absolutely
- 8:10gets bashed. That's the problem right now
- 8:13with the Yankees and they're not hitting.
- 8:15Consistency is definitely a problem for these Yankee teams.
- 8:18Aaron Judge is hitting. Finally.
- 8:20Giancarlo stands hitting, but everybody else is not.
- 8:23Yeah, Aaron Judge, six home runs now.
- 8:24He's definitely on the pace you definitely need to see.
- 8:27More than six home runs doesn't. He I'm taking this stretch, I
- 8:29think since the last time we did the concrete jungle carousel,
- 8:32but I think the at bats are a lot better for him.
- 8:35And obviously Ben Rice has still played very well this year.
- 8:37But yeah, you need a lot more from that.
- 8:38As far as Cole, yeah, it's good to see him progressing well.
- 8:41He's the guy that's been durable throughout his career up until
- 8:43this injury. So you wonder, it's interesting
- 8:46when you guys have multiple Tommy Johns versus or multiple
- 8:49bad arm injuries versus somebody who just said the one how he'll
- 8:51come back. But I think he'll be good.
- 8:52He doesn't have to rely on his philosophy.
- 8:53Do they need to rush him back? Not necessarily, but I think
- 8:55it's a good. Sign I think they need to rush
- 8:56him back. I mean, they need to get this
- 8:59bullpen figured out and and right?
- 9:01That's the bigger problem. They need to move one of these
- 9:03guys in the bullpen, maybe Weathers, because he's been a
- 9:05horrible starting pitcher. So move him in the bullpen and
- 9:08let him. Maybe he could fix up the middle
- 9:10of that pitching bullpen. I mean, it's been horrible,
- 9:13horrible. He's just not consistent enough
- 9:15to be a starter. He has some of these.
- 9:17He had that one game where he was lights out.
- 9:19They lost that game, but he pitched 8 innings, struck out as
- 9:22like 7 or 8 or something, something like that.
- 9:23He looked really good and then he hasn't looked as good.
- 9:27That usually screams long reliever, doesn't it?
- 9:29That screams the guy that you wanna do have an opener if you
- 9:33don't have a fifth starter and then you have him come in for
- 9:35the 3-4 innings. Could be their closer.
- 9:37I think he could definitely be their closer.
- 9:41Well, if not, you know, I always remember 96 when Mariano was
- 9:44giving us 2 innings before wetland.
- 9:46You know, A2 inning setup man is pretty special.
- 9:49He might have the length in the arm.
- 9:51If he's only throwing 2 innings, he's probably dialing up to 100.
- 9:53No. Yeah.
- 9:54So that would be nice. Let's talk about the Mets.
- 9:59They just lost their eighth straight, got swept by the
- 10:01Dodgers. Otani made him look foolish.
- 10:04Soto's supposed to come back for the next homestand on I guess
- 10:08Monday, but since June 13th of last year, the Mets have the 4th
- 10:13worst record in all of baseball behind just the Twins,
- 10:17Nationals, and Rockies. So ahead of those teams.
- 10:19So the Mets are betting on Juan Soto coming back and that's
- 10:22going to fix everything. That's going to clean up
- 10:24everything. Come on, guys.
- 10:26The pitching's been putrid. They're not getting any bullpen
- 10:28help. They're to me, they're not
- 10:31getting hitting in this in this lineup that's supposed to be
- 10:34sacked. They played for both Pichette.
- 10:37Both Pichette hasn't hit a lick. Jorge Polacco is hitting, what,
- 10:40180? I mean, nobody.
- 10:42Lindor's hitting in his one 6168.
- 10:46It's bad. It's really, really bad if
- 10:48you're betting on one player that you're paying 68,000,000 a
- 10:51year and you're not getting anything from him.
- 10:53This screams David Stearns needs to be fired.
- 10:57Fired. I've said this already.
- 11:00It has nothing to do with management.
- 11:03They're going to blame this on Mendoza.
- 11:04It has everything to do with the guy leading the way.
- 11:08David Sturds. Yeah, if you have a lineup.
- 11:10That's supposed to be top five on paper, even with guys playing
- 11:12out of position. You're really supposed to have
- 11:14the offensive production. Yeah, Alvarez is hitting, Louise
- 11:17Roberts hitting, where is everyone else?
- 11:20Like Simeon not hitting at all. We know Lindor starts slow.
- 11:23I I think he'll be fine. But again, the mental blunder
- 11:25may be getting to him and Bichette.
- 11:27Oh my God is he a mess in every direction right now.
- 11:30Pitching can only hold their own so much when they're bullpen
- 11:33starting to get decimated as well.
- 11:34David Peterson put him in the bullpen.
- 11:35He's not pitching with all at all this year, but also has been
- 11:38very up and down so far. Just a bad combination of
- 11:40everything right now. We'll see.
- 11:43It's early, but they were hot last year and then slumps and
- 11:45maybe there's something going reverse.
- 11:47Maybe they just do the somebody else needs to do the Jorge Lopez
- 11:51effect to inspire them from 2024, Who knows?
- 11:54Or get some grimace. They need something to work
- 11:56because they don't have anything.
- 11:58Right now I'm not doing any freaking tag team.
- 12:00Now tag team's an argument. Save them right now.
- 12:04Speedy, you still don't know what that quote that drop means.
- 12:08I don't want to pull jobless the Mets. 8 game losing streak for
- 12:12the Mets. I know.
- 12:14How do you how do you break a streak like this when you have a
- 12:17team that just can't get it right?
- 12:19You got to find a win. You got to find a win.
- 12:21Usually it happens with a team that's horrible, but I when you
- 12:268 down, it's just going to be difficult for you to just, you
- 12:30know, find any type of momentum. So somehow you got to rally the
- 12:35troops, you got to get into the locker room and basically
- 12:40together and have a, you know what we call the coming to Jesus
- 12:44meeting. And basically you guys settle
- 12:47down. Hey, you got to take the next
- 12:49game, go out, do what we need to do and win the game.
- 12:52And as long as you do that, once you get that first win, you're
- 12:55able to get some momentum. But it's difficult because you
- 12:58kind of lose the locker room. There's no true leadership,
- 13:00especially with the Mets, you know, with salsa and Landora,
- 13:04like having those soda and landora like having those
- 13:07issues. It's it's difficult because you
- 13:09got, you know, two of the guys that's supposed to be the main
- 13:12guys not seeing eye to eye, not on the same page.
- 13:15And they're not being able to have somebody to mediate that
- 13:18relationship to be able to bring the whole team together.
- 13:21So it's going to be difficult for them.
- 13:23But I still it's still early. And so I got, I got faith that
- 13:27they're turning around. They've had that leadership
- 13:29stench with free agents. Please the team for a.
- 13:32While too they had the same problem with Scherzer when they
- 13:33brought him in and Verlander and a lot of the guys like that.
- 13:36Even Drobo. Previous regime since Cohen's
- 13:38taken and spend money. It sucks they don't have a good
- 13:41clubhouse, guys like Pete Alonzo or Brandon Nimmo.
- 13:43I wonder why? They got rid of.
- 13:47Interesting. Nothing to talk about with
- 13:48basketball. We already covered the the
- 13:50Knicks in the playoffs, so we're going to go straight to football
- 13:52tonight. We'll talk about the Nets when
- 13:56we get. Gone, baby, gone.
- 13:57That's about it. When we get to the draft
- 13:59lottery, we'll talk about the Nets.
- 14:02But yeah, so let's talk about. We'll go with The Jets first.
- 14:05This is a weird one, Errol I this doesn't inspire confidence
- 14:08in your fearless leader Aaron Glenn.
- 14:10They announced they cancelled their top 30 meeting with top 10
- 14:13projected pick. I heard David Bailey, who is the
- 14:17guy that Aaron Glenn was caught falling asleep during his
- 14:21workout in the NFL combine. They did meet with Arvel Reese,
- 14:27but they met with a lot of guys that are kind of projected to go
- 14:30to the back half of the first early 2nd, kind of, you know,
- 14:34telegraphing that they're taking Reese and they may want to trade
- 14:37back up, you know, at the end of the second or they're just
- 14:40looking for mid tier guys. There's no one else at the top
- 14:43of the draft they're looking at and Arvel Reese.
- 14:46I I think they're right. Arvel Reese is athletically
- 14:49gifted kid. I think they can move him in
- 14:52many different ways. I was talking to Q Offset, he
- 14:54says he's underweight. Well, Mike, Micah Parsons, when
- 14:57he came into the league, he was £250.
- 14:59He's he, they said he was undersized.
- 15:01This guy's faster, bigger, stronger than Michael Parsons.
- 15:04I like Arvel Reese. I think he's going to do a lot
- 15:07of things for The Jets. He's going to be a position
- 15:09player that you can move around on the field.
- 15:11I like him. It's not that I don't think they
- 15:14like David Bailey. I just don't think he fits the
- 15:16scheme that they want to use. And, and here's another thing
- 15:19about David Bailey, Just because they didn't invite him and they
- 15:23didn't interview him again doesn't mean that they're not
- 15:25interested in him. Maybe they just have more
- 15:27information than people think that they don't have.
- 15:30So it doesn't mean that they're not interested in David, David
- 15:33Bailey. I'm just saying that, but not
- 15:35surprised that overall Reese is a guy that they want to
- 15:37interview more and more and more because they like him the most
- 15:40and he's the number 2 player on that board that everybody keeps
- 15:43saying he's going to go, so he's going to the.
- 15:45Jets, yeah, I I guess if they sought out any character issues,
- 15:48it probably would have happened already.
- 15:49Obviously, maybe it wasn't Eric Glenn that was doing it because
- 15:51he fell asleep, but some of the other Jets scouts that were
- 15:53already saying we're not going to take him.
- 15:55So maybe they'll just use it as leverage as saying, all right,
- 15:57if they somebody else. Wants everybody.
- 15:59Everybody's blowing that out of proportion.
- 16:01Yeah, I I never thought The Jets were taking him anyway.
- 16:03I think it was more of they use that as a point of where we know
- 16:07we're not going to do it now. So if you want them, go get them
- 16:09type thing. Otherwise, we'll take Reese or
- 16:11it could be you leverage to use if a team badly wants Reese to
- 16:14say, all right, we're definitely taking him, give us your best
- 16:17offer. So either way, I think it's a
- 16:19even though it's funny that it is the guy Eric Glenn fell
- 16:21asleep on it. I actually think it's a tactical
- 16:22move. Yeah, I, I, I think like Earl
- 16:26said earlier, I agree with him on that.
- 16:28I think it was a bad fit. I'm not so that he isn't they're
- 16:34not interested in him, but I do think that our more interested
- 16:37in Abel Reese. But I thought about this earlier
- 16:40and obviously The Jets need to replace Sauce and Quentin
- 16:43Williams position holes in the defense.
- 16:46What if they took down at 2 and took Sunny at 16?
- 16:51He's not going. To be there, I'd be shocked.
- 16:55Look, we'll talk about Sunny on Monday if you, but I don't think
- 17:00he's going to make it out of the top 7.
- 17:02Like Sonny might be going super high.
- 17:04His numbers were even better than Reese's at the combine.
- 17:06Yeah, but that. Was crazy I I I don't look at
- 17:09the combine is why I think that Sonny is going to be better than
- 17:12Reese. I just think Sonny I think Sonny
- 17:15is a leader and that's what a lot of people look at it our Val
- 17:18Reese he's a beast he's an athletically gifted kid that
- 17:22could be so explosive in the NANFL that he can turn out to be
- 17:26the best not even the best pass rusher in this class.
- 17:29One of the best in the last five years.
- 17:31That's what they're betting on. That's what quoting on as good
- 17:33as Sonny is, I'm not saying Sonny's bad.
- 17:35You can play with Sonny, especially in that 425 scheme,
- 17:38like you can play with Sonny and kind of get not able to reach
- 17:42production from an edge standpoint, but at least half of
- 17:45that and be able to put him in some packages for him to be
- 17:47successful. I think that'll be you know, I
- 17:50don't like you said, because I don't know if he I don't think
- 17:53he'd be there neither. But it was just wishful thinking
- 17:55because again, if you get that, you know, solidified corner and
- 17:59you kind of feel that in between go either edge or interior, the
- 18:03lineman, I think you kind of fixing that issue that you have
- 18:08as far as least a pass rusher and get to get home with a
- 18:11quarterback, especially if you got a lot down corner out there
- 18:15where you going to have to force the quarterback to use one side
- 18:19of the field. So it was just so it was just
- 18:21the take that I want to get you guys respectable.
- 18:23But yeah, I agree, Ava Reese is probably the guy and that's
- 18:26probably why they. Yeah, just quickly on him.
- 18:31He just looks like he looks the part.
- 18:33He can play 3 different positions for you and he's going
- 18:37to be good at all. Micah Parsons, that's.
- 18:38What we remind you it's like, it's the Micah Parsons role,
- 18:41it's that Joker role. He can play inside.
- 18:44He can play over A gap, B gap, C gap, D gap.
- 18:47He can play anywhere for you. He might not be a true
- 18:50linebacker the same way Sonny Styles is and do some of the
- 18:53things that a true linebacker would do for you, right?
- 18:55Which is more valuable in today's NFL?
- 18:57It's the pass rusher. So that's why he's going to go
- 18:59higher. I don't think he's better than
- 19:01Micah Parson. We don't know what he's going to
- 19:02be, but I think his gifts, his athletic ability is right there
- 19:06with Micah. And I'm telling you right now,
- 19:09it just depends. It'll never happen, but sitting
- 19:15with that 16th pick, you know that's around the ballpark.
- 19:18If you needed a nose tackle, the other team in New York seems to
- 19:22be getting rid of 1. Dexter.
- 19:24Dexter Lawrence definitely wants out of the Giants, according to
- 19:29CBS Sports's Jonathan Jones says he was feeling disrespected that
- 19:34he was still making 22 and a half million, 12th amongst the
- 19:37tackles today, and the Giants weren't even thinking about
- 19:41renegotiating. We're talking, of course, you
- 19:45know who does the negotiating for the Giants?
- 19:47Joey. Bag of Donuts Joey contracts
- 19:50Joey. Joey Moron Free Agents Joey
- 19:52Idiot Joey Joey asking his son. Joey Shay, Shay Shay it ain't.
- 19:58So yes, he's going to screw up another star player, Dexter
- 20:03Lawrence. I think the big question about
- 20:05this is. Do the Giants have leverage
- 20:08because Lawrence is under contract for two years with no
- 20:11guaranteed money? They should be able to say we're
- 20:14not trading you. You play for us, You sit out.
- 20:17I'll tell you this, they're not getting a first round draft pick
- 20:21form they. Can't trade them right?
- 20:24I can't do that. I think they'll get a second for
- 20:26him and maybe a fourth, a second and a fourth for like, like
- 20:29let's say what The Jets got for Sam Darnold.
- 20:32I could see that, but they're not getting a first round talent
- 20:36for him. And and and a lot of reasons why
- 20:38is Dexter Lawrence didn't have a great year last year wasn't
- 20:40healthy, but Dexter Lawrence is still an elite player out of his
- 20:44position. And being that the Giants do not
- 20:47know how to control personalities and they don't
- 20:49have to control him. He doesn't like them.
- 20:51He doesn't like the organization.
- 20:53He wants to say sayonara to whatever you want to call him,
- 20:58Joey bag, Joey idiot, Joey moron Joey everything just complete
- 21:02morons over there. And he will lose his job after
- 21:06this season because this is they're going to fall flat on
- 21:08their face after. This yeah, they're stuck.
- 21:10Like there's no easy path. Like, do you trade him for just
- 21:13the two and the four and hope you couldn't get more out of
- 21:15this? Or do you gamble that he stays
- 21:17healthy and then put up, puts up the 2022 through 24 numbers
- 21:21again and then you get him for higher value at the trade
- 21:23deadline because the Giants probably won't be a good team in
- 21:25a tough division anyway? Or we were talking about it last
- 21:28week with the Bills, like being very interested.
- 21:29I've heard Chicago has been interested in him after they
- 21:31failed at Max Crosby. Like, there's going to be teams
- 21:34that are going to want to try at this draft.
- 21:35And that's the dilemma the Giants are in.
- 21:37Either way, they're going to be very stuck.
- 21:39Yeah. I think that that, yeah, I think
- 21:42it's going to be something that happened during the season.
- 21:45I don't know how, you know, they found anybody of any type of
- 21:49value or any type of value packet that they could put
- 21:52together that ioffer him. I think it's a relationship.
- 21:57The issue is if John Harper had been there more than one year,
- 22:02then I can see it kind of coming back together and they just had
- 22:05like a little, you know, fight or what now.
- 22:07But being that this is John Harper first year, he's not
- 22:10going to be really, you know, high on tolerating guys who
- 22:15don't want to be there, especially when he's trying to
- 22:17build a team and build a culture.
- 22:18I know you guys got some issues with the front office guys, but
- 22:21for the most part, I would say that he he probably is going to
- 22:24have to thug it out and produce like Speedy said and be ready to
- 22:29get traded during the trade demo.
- 22:30Oh. No, nobody's saying the
- 22:32ownership is off the hook either.
- 22:33One guy's an idiot, the other guy's doing disgusting things.
- 22:36Be careful, be on the lookout for Minnesota.
- 22:39They might throw something together with brown floors over
- 22:41there. Yeah, with brown floors over
- 22:43there, that might be, you know, he's that might be something
- 22:46that might be they need to be Taco so.
- 22:49I'll take I'll take Justin Jefferson back for him.
- 22:51That's good luck on that. I'm good with it.
- 22:53Good luck on that. Good luck.
- 22:56On that trade them Burns not. Trading him for less than a
- 22:58first if they can't get a. First, they're not getting a
- 23:01first for him. They'll wait to the.
- 23:02Trade. They're not getting a first for
- 23:04him. I guarantee they're not getting
- 23:08a first. Bowing for less than a first and
- 23:10something. I, I remember, I'll remember you
- 23:13said that because you said, you said that about I, I think you
- 23:17said that about Panarin. You said that they were going to
- 23:21get a top six player and you thought they were going to get a
- 23:23top, top player. I'm pretty sure that was you it.
- 23:27Was either him or one of our guests.
- 23:28No, it was definitely him. About what?
- 23:30About what? That you said that the Rangers
- 23:32were going to get a top six player on another roster.
- 23:35It was you and I remember. You so you said they were going
- 23:39to get like a like a good pick and then they didn't get it.
- 23:42You're right. They didn't.
- 23:43They got an oak, they got like. They're not getting, they're not
- 23:45getting what you think they're going to get for Dexter Lawrence
- 23:47so. So here's my question though.
- 23:50When you have a guy like this who's really good and his
- 23:53problem is the way that management has treated him and
- 23:57you have a new head coach, why don't you just fire Joe Shane
- 24:01and get rid of the problem And then the new guy gives him a
- 24:05contract and say it ain't going to be like it used to go.
- 24:08Harbaugh, go ask John Mara, because that guy is to me.
- 24:14What are we doing dumbest one of the dumbest owners over the last
- 24:1710 years. Everybody keeps talking about
- 24:18Woody Johnson. This guy deserves to be attacked
- 24:24by all the fans. He's.
- 24:25Done. He makes Woody Johnson look like
- 24:29a genius right now, so. I wouldn't go that far.
- 24:33He does. He does.
- 24:34It's just stupid. Stupid one, stupid 2.
- 24:37Dude, you, you, you sit there and you tell, you tell your GM
- 24:42not right on television, on Hard Knocks, not to trade him or let
- 24:48him go to a team in the division.
- 24:50He said that and then he let Saquan Barkley go to the Eagles.
- 24:55You're going to sit here and tell me he doesn't look like an
- 24:57idiot. He looks like a a moron.
- 24:59A moron? So please, a moron.
- 25:03Your John Mayer looks like a moron.
- 25:06Fire shame you'll get to keep him and get more value even if
- 25:10you don't want to keep him. Like get rid of this guy.
- 25:13All brakes, all gas, no brake. Why don't you use that?
- 25:16I'm taking receipts. I'm taking receipts.
- 25:19There's still a head coach employed that does that.
- 25:22I'm the Titans. I'm taking receipts.
- 25:25I'm Robert Bambi Salim. Another team that's imploding a
- 25:29little bit in shocking fashion. We're just going to skip ahead
- 25:33because there's nothing to talk about the Rangers, Islanders and
- 25:35Devils right now whatsoever. We're.
- 25:38Going to go play golf the. Bill Western New York, the
- 25:41Bills, the Bills are going to trade Keon Coleman.
- 25:44We've already talked about it. They won't get much more than a
- 25:46fifth round pick stop, no matter what the fact What what Brady
- 25:50said. Oh, I love Keon Coleman.
- 25:52Yeah, they don't love. Yeah, and I'm sure he believes
- 25:55in the Easter Bunny, too. The the interesting thing when
- 25:58in queue, I think you're going to have a real strong feeling
- 26:01about this. They're going to move Greg
- 26:03Rousseau to outside linebacker and take his hand off the
- 26:06ground. I, I, I don't get it.
- 26:10And that because it because of that, you know, they'll, they
- 26:13might bring back AJ Epinessa who's, you know, OK, but I think
- 26:19the Bills are going the wrong way for us.
- 26:21I don't. They still have Josh Allen, they
- 26:24still have a weapon and DJ Moore.
- 26:26I think they're going to be explosive offensively.
- 26:28They have, they have two really good tight ends, I I and they
- 26:31have a great running back. They're offensively sound.
- 26:34They have a great a great offensive tackle.
- 26:37We can't stand The Jets, but this is this is a good offensive
- 26:41team. They're going to put up points.
- 26:42Their defense will be OK. They'll be they'll be elite in
- 26:45the AFC. The AFC has nothing to brag
- 26:47about besides probably the only team that I would worry about
- 26:51this year is the Broncos and maybe Kansas City.
- 26:53All the other teams, there's a lot of what ifs or maybes.
- 26:57San Diego, too, I like I, I, I mean LA, I like the LA Chargers
- 27:01too. I think those are the three only
- 27:03teams that I would worry about in the AFC this year.
- 27:06So I don't think they have anything to worry about.
- 27:08I'm with you, Fish. I kind of think it's odd for a
- 27:10guy that's a 64, like 275 guy to try to be a stand up linebacker.
- 27:14I think there was a big reason he wasn't a top ten pick like a
- 27:17lot of. People doesn't work, they'll
- 27:19move them back. And not hard.
- 27:21Yeah, that's where I think is interesting when it comes to the
- 27:24Bills team needs. We talk about defensive tackle
- 27:26being one of them, maybe inside linebacker because obviously you
- 27:29don't know what Milano what's going to happen.
- 27:30They've had a lot of other guys that are injury prone as a what
- 27:32do you. Believe everything you guys
- 27:34read. Honestly, do you know?
- 27:36Yeah, but why would they? Why would they post it?
- 27:38Like, why would they make that out if it was, if it was an
- 27:41uncertain issue and why would you make that type of
- 27:43announcement? Here's the thing, there are a
- 27:45lot of stupid organizations that would do stupid things.
- 27:49I mean, you believe they're going to.
- 27:50Yeah, how about the Mets coming out and saying we're going to
- 27:53get Kyle Tucker, we're getting him, we're getting him, we're
- 27:55getting him and then they lose him and what do they do?
- 27:57They trend back and they bring in Bob A shit who's never played
- 28:00third base in his whole career. Makes no sense, but that's what
- 28:04happens. That's a great.
- 28:05Comparison. That's a great comparison.
- 28:07It is like playing a guy out of position, like when the Yankees
- 28:10went into the season last year without a third baseman.
- 28:13That's what you're doing. I'll just take my DN, I'll play
- 28:15a minute, oh, linebacker and then I'll move him back if it
- 28:18doesn't work. And but then I don't have a
- 28:19solution to an outside linebacker.
- 28:20Right. And I never they're dumb.
- 28:22I think they have enough with outside linebacker.
- 28:24I just think he's the wrong body type for an outside linebacker.
- 28:27Yeah, he's he needed to be put his hand in dirt and then go
- 28:30chase the cornerback. I just think.
- 28:32That bad experiment? I just think the organization is
- 28:34saying things because they're unsure what they're going to do
- 28:37in the draft. They have players.
- 28:39They're hoping that the players fall to them.
- 28:41If they don't, they'll move Russo right where they think and
- 28:44it might not work. After one or two games, they'll
- 28:46move them right back. It's not going.
- 28:48To kill them, they don't work after one or two games.
- 28:50It's the hardest transition ever to go from painting your hand in
- 28:53the dirt to playing a stand up outside linebacker.
- 28:56And then you guess what? He's going to get judged based
- 28:58off of getting sacks and tackle Pelosi with his hand in the
- 29:03dirt. And he like that's, that's the
- 29:05issue. It's like you just don't.
- 29:07You get judged based on what you used to do and not what you
- 29:10currently doing. Or you'll have to bulk up and
- 29:11play 34 N, which will be hard for him.
- 29:13And it's going. To limit his new You want my
- 29:15creampie? The last thing you want to do is
- 29:18bunk up at this point. Yeah, I mean, I, I just think
- 29:23Bean, you know, is a GM that's on the hot seat.
- 29:27You know, he's been there a long time.
- 29:28They've they've had a really good offense.
- 29:31This is Josh Allen's prime. They can't.
- 29:33Figure out he'll be the new Giants GM next year.
- 29:37Yeah, they they mean. Ghost Jane.
- 29:39Just send them somewhere away from the state of New York,
- 29:42Western New York, all parts of New York.
- 29:45Yeah, they need to go. Away in Jersey.
- 29:46Get out of Jersey too, please. Don't worry, his son will be the
- 29:50Giants GM in 20 years. Carl.
- 29:52Plays with himself. I can't wait from 20 years from
- 29:55now when Rick Johnson is destroying The Jets.
- 29:57Anyway, the Sabres the real story, the only team that's
- 30:02really doing it right now. Sabres won the Atlantic Division
- 30:05with 109 points, 3 points ahead of the Lightning and Canadians.
- 30:10They face the Bruins in the first round of the playoffs.
- 30:13Alex Lyon is day-to-day with the lower body injury, but it seems
- 30:16like they dodged the bullet when Tucks lower body injury wasn't
- 30:19problem. He's going to be good to go.
- 30:21Carrick who they got from the Rangers at the deadline is not
- 30:24going to play. He had, I don't think he got
- 30:26hurt at fighting Anders Lee the other day.
- 30:29So that's the story for the Sabres.
- 30:32Where'd you have them on your your ranking?
- 30:34And in Lake Flint 7 you said? There I think 7 or 6, I think it
- 30:38was 7 or 6. I like Buffalo and and they
- 30:41could beat Boston. Boston's been there before.
- 30:43They're a hard team. They're a team that knows how to
- 30:46win and they find ways to win. They always have good
- 30:48goaltending. They have a great swimming, is a
- 30:50great goaltender. They're they're going to have
- 30:52good defense and they could put the puck in the net.
- 30:55I like Buffalo as long as Tage Thompson is healthy and this
- 30:58team could play at a high level. Dalene is a great defensive
- 31:01player. They have some good young studs
- 31:04on this roster that are starting to develop into stars.
- 31:07I like Buffalo. I think Buffalo wins the series
- 31:09in six games. This is an interesting one
- 31:11because Boston's offensive depth is a lot better than it was last
- 31:14year. You saw a lot of veteran guys
- 31:16like Victor Arvis in Middlesex who did very well with Colorado
- 31:18last year. Morgan Geeky's been one of the
- 31:21most underrated goal scorers the last two years, so they cannot
- 31:24take it lightly against this veteran team.
- 31:26Like you said, there are a lot of experience.
- 31:27The Bruins had that bad year like the Rangers did last year
- 31:30where they were one of the heavy favorites and then disappointed,
- 31:32but they're bouncing back nicely.
- 31:33Buffalo, it's interesting. Fish Lekinen is their main
- 31:36goalie. They got 2 goalies that are hurt
- 31:38right now. So if he struggles, he hope he
- 31:39doesn't get rattled. That's the only thing that could
- 31:41hurt him. But I think besides that, yeah,
- 31:43the Buffalo is definitely a well-rounded identity.
- 31:44That being said, I do think the Bruins are going to make this a
- 31:46very interesting. Series they will, but they're
- 31:48not winning. And if Boston, if Boston wins
- 31:51and they beat Buffalo, I think they can go all the way to East
- 31:53Conference finals if they beat Buffalo.
- 31:56I I would have, it's funny when you're doing your rankings
- 31:58before I if they played Carolina, I think they would
- 32:00have beaten Carolina. So do I, yeah, I think that's.
- 32:04All all right, well, I mean, we got the carousel.
- 32:06The carousel keeps spinning next.
- 32:09Time. All right, the final segment of
- 32:12the night. Dial it up.
- 32:14We interrupt this regularly. Scheduled.
- 32:16Hot mix to bring your. Important news though.
- 32:18We got a big broadcast to do here.
- 32:20We're about to dial it up all. Right, we are back once again
- 32:30with another episode of Dial It Up Lightning Sports Rounds.
- 32:35Errol hasn't heard it. He's going to dial up a take and
- 32:38then we're going to comment back and forth.
- 32:40Let's start with something that was real wild in the playing
- 32:44game. Coach Spo says Lamello ball
- 32:48should have been ejected. If you take a look at the
- 32:51pictures on there, if you're watching in video or if not, you
- 32:54can obviously see it in the million highlights that we
- 32:57watched over and over again the other day.
- 32:59He grabs his leg and trips him and injuries him.
- 33:02And then there's some video that came out from a couple years ago
- 33:06that he tripped and hurt Bam in 2024.
- 33:09Lamella Ball was not kicked out of the game and he had the
- 33:12game-winning layup with no Bam to stop him in the paint in
- 33:15overtime. They go on to the next round,
- 33:18the playing game. He gets fined 35K but no
- 33:22suspension. What do you think?
- 33:26It doesn't help Miami. They're eliminated.
- 33:28Bam out of bio, gets pulled out of the game.
- 33:31I think he's absolutely right. But this is the same thing that
- 33:33happened to the New York Knicks against the 76ers.
- 33:37This happens in sports. You got to be up there and you
- 33:41got to be playing. You got to play hard play.
- 33:43It hurts. Basketball players are the
- 33:45easiest ones to get hurt. They're big men.
- 33:47Their ankles, their calves, their everything.
- 33:50Something hurts. Lamelo Ball smiles, He laughs,
- 33:52He gets away with it. He sleeps with all these porno
- 33:54stars. His father's Lavar Ball, his
- 33:56brother's Lonzo, and all this other.
- 33:58One of them is a rapper. One's doing something out in
- 34:00Japan or whatever the hell they're doing.
- 34:02I don't know what the Ball family is doing.
- 34:04What I do know is Charlotte's moving on and Miami is not
- 34:07supposed she's not wrong. There should have been more done
- 34:10till the mellow ball. But what are you?
- 34:11How is that going to hurt? How does that help Miami?
- 34:14It doesn't help Miami. Miami is eliminated because they
- 34:17lost their best player in the mix of everything.
- 34:19Yeah, I guess it's more of a justification thing.
- 34:21They're trying to do it from years ago, like you said, Fishy
- 34:22did the same thing in 2024, I think during the regular season.
- 34:25So they're trying to get just that help them.
- 34:27I, I, I know they're just trying to get justice, I guess for
- 34:29maybe. The justice is all disabled.
- 34:31The Hornets should have their best player suspended for the
- 34:34next playing game. They're trying to make a case, I
- 34:36guess. Pat Riley, try to make a case.
- 34:37The Saint Pat Riley that was throwing Jimmy Butler under the
- 34:40bus at the end of his tenure. The Pat Riley, the Saint Pat
- 34:42Riley that made the mean St. New York Knicks in the 90s.
- 34:46They were beating the hell out of everybody.
- 34:48Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniel, Michael Jordan.
- 34:51Remember that? John Starks?
- 34:52Come on. I know, but why is Pat Riley
- 34:55bitching him? You're right.
- 34:56It's a different game. That's why I tell you all the
- 34:58time why you keep bringing up Michael Jordan and Steph Curry
- 35:01and SGA. There's no such.
- 35:03Thing not from not from a stats wise Hold the hand, baby hold
- 35:07the hand baby hold the hand. Talk to the hands.
- 35:12But listen, I don't think that, I think, you know, what we got
- 35:16to understand is refs missed calls all the time.
- 35:18You know, I'm one of the famous things is when Kevin Durant ran
- 35:21out of bounds and threw the ball back in when he was there with
- 35:24Golden State. Like things happen all the time.
- 35:26That ref just missed. I think the rest missed this
- 35:28one. It's okay.
- 35:30They all have a, Yeah, they all have a, they all have a meeting
- 35:35and then they, they get judged based on whether or not they get
- 35:38fined or whatnot. And usually they don't get
- 35:40fined, but, you know, they, it was just a human error.
- 35:43I think sometimes it's a natural reaction.
- 35:45You're down looking on the floor.
- 35:47You don't realize that you're on the floor, but you're reaching
- 35:49for the ball, but you end up. Oh yeah, that's oh, oh, look,
- 35:52that's his leg. Maybe I should grab it.
- 35:56Oh, that's the ball. Oh no, I try to fight.
- 35:57You don't. In your mind, you psyched out.
- 36:01It's the player where. The hell do you think we're from
- 36:04right here? How do you not know what a
- 36:05basketball is and a leg is? Please.
- 36:08No, it's not that you don't know, it's that you psyched.
- 36:10Out Oh, I'm sorry. He psyched out and he saw
- 36:13somebody's leg and he just yanked on it.
- 36:14Oh, it's bam out of bio. Oh, there, there.
- 36:18Psych it out, psych out. Yeah, it's all.
- 36:20Right. What is shocker?
- 36:23The Ball family, you know, just not above board, you know, with
- 36:26their morals as they grew up. Shocker how that happened.
- 36:29Yeah. We all never saw that one
- 36:31coming. Maybe they should send one of
- 36:32their nice sneakers to Bam out of bio.
- 36:34He'll throw it out. Did anyone ever get the big ball
- 36:37or brand shoes or was? That just a couple thousand
- 36:39people did get a couple thousand overpriced them, and that was
- 36:42the problem. They overpriced it.
- 36:43All they overpriced them they wouldn't do they RIP.
- 36:46Like stuff on Mulberry sneakers? The Starbury.
- 36:51Strawberry sold and Shaq sold like those are those are real
- 36:55real time with big heel shoes, man.
- 36:56They got Nike and Adidas, but they really they do.
- 36:59They do numbers. All right, let's get to the next
- 37:01story. Let's go to baseball.
- 37:03This one's wild. So I don't know if you saw this,
- 37:06but Red Sox center fielder or outfield, I don't know, he's
- 37:09playing center, but outfielder Jaron Duran flipped off a Twins
- 37:13fan during the game and he gets talked about it afterwards.
- 37:18Somebody just told me to kill myself.
- 37:20I'm used to it at this point. You know, I mean, S happens.
- 37:23I mean, I'm going to flip somebody off if they say
- 37:25something to me, but it is what it is.
- 37:27I shouldn't react like that. But that's the kind of stuff is
- 37:30still kind of triggering. It's my fault for talking about
- 37:33my mental health. I talked about last year because
- 37:35I kind of brought it in. It brought in the haters.
- 37:38So I've just got to get used to it.
- 37:40I was just trying to hold it in and not really bring that up to
- 37:43the team. I mean, we're trying to win a
- 37:44game. I shouldn't even bring that up
- 37:45to anybody. It just happens.
- 37:49If you remember he had a Netflix series.
- 37:52There was a net some Netflix Series A couple years ago
- 37:54talking about how he was suicidal a few years ago.
- 37:57He was suspended IN22 games in 2024 for man making an anti-gay
- 38:03slur at a fan presumably for something they said at him.
- 38:07Errol. Dial it up, first of all.
- 38:10Well, who was he sticking his fingers up at it?
- 38:12Was it a twin fan? Yes.
- 38:14OK. Yes, here's what I'm going to
- 38:16say about Boston Red Sox fans. And I, I go back and forth with
- 38:21Jeff all the time. Everybody knows that the Boston
- 38:24fans are cruel, disgusting and disrespectful.
- 38:27They lay racial slurs, they attack people, they do things.
- 38:31They say that about Yankee fans. Boston fans are not nice.
- 38:35So because Duran goes, Duran goes over there and he's got
- 38:40somebody that doesn't like him, doesn't appreciate what he said
- 38:43in the past or says he's suicidal, he gives him a finger.
- 38:46That's OK Boston fans have been doing it forever.
- 38:49Cry me a river. Act like a professional.
- 38:52Act like a professional. Nobody likes what the Yankee
- 38:55fans do. The Yankee fans have done so
- 38:57many derogatory things and Boston fans have a lot to say
- 38:59about Yankee fans. Let's go back and see what CC
- 39:03Sabathia has said about him, about them.
- 39:05Oh, I don't know, MM Mussina said about Boston fans.
- 39:11Jason Giambi said about Boston fans.
- 39:14Please cry me a river that the Twin fans were upsetting you
- 39:18because you were hurt by what they were saying to you.
- 39:22Please. Look, I completely agree with
- 39:25you on that one, Errol. You cannot go after the fans,
- 39:28especially when you have worse fans and we know the worst.
- 39:31The Boston fans are maybe not worse than the Eagles fans, but
- 39:34it's close. You know, the Philly in Boston,
- 39:37it's close now. When I was younger, I may have
- 39:41used to hit the sauce a little bit, a lot of bit when I was
- 39:43younger. Not anymore.
- 39:44Those days are long gone. Not for anything.
- 39:46I had to stop. I just don't.
- 39:48I used to go to to Rangers games in the Garden.
- 39:51I used to flask it up. This is a true story.
- 39:53The fireball and then the fireball would like get stuck on
- 39:56the flask and you have to throw the flask out.
- 39:58Never put fireball on a flask, by the way, but they had the
- 40:01Flyers. I always end up going to Rangers
- 40:03Flyers games my whole life. I end up at the Rangers Flyers
- 40:06games and I hate the Flyers because they're Philly team.
- 40:09Their goalie used to be a guy named Steve Mason, and I would
- 40:12always wait. Columbus.
- 40:14Too. Yep, I would always wait till it
- 40:16got real quiet in the garden and then I would scream at the top
- 40:19of my lungs. Pretty wasted.
- 40:22Mason has a Sandy AV word and everyone left and it was funny
- 40:28and I and no one was trying to say we're going to kill.
- 40:31Anybody. No.
- 40:33One's trying to get upset at anything about it.
- 40:37It was just good-natured fun. Now, I probably shouldn't have
- 40:40been doing that, but at the same time, why are you being so
- 40:44negative at a game? It's.
- 40:46A fish is not a panty dropper. Get over it, stop betting on
- 40:50stuff if that's going to make you angry.
- 40:52Just just stop. Like that's not how you should
- 40:54be at a game. It's ridiculous.
- 40:56But you know Duran's wrong. But the fans more wrong.
- 40:58Fish. Don't worry, he's on Emmanuel,
- 41:00Class A or Luis Ortiz. He won't be betting.
- 41:03Listen, I believe in bringing heckling back.
- 41:06I think we've got to solve. I think it's an advantage to the
- 41:10home team to be able to have your fans to the most derogatory
- 41:13things ever, to be able to get an edge and get into his health.
- 41:17And look, he made everybody aware of his mental health
- 41:20issues. He made everybody aware of what
- 41:22he's going on. So that's just ammo for fans to
- 41:24use. And if it's going to get you to
- 41:26be flipping me the bird and losing the game, then let me do
- 41:30it and then I'm going to use it. Okay, let's go to the next story
- 41:36on this one. It's going to be a hockey story
- 41:39and this is the end of the season.
- 41:40This is I love this still for now, the head coach of the Blue
- 41:44Jackets Rick bonus been in the game forever.
- 41:47Well, he had quite an epic rant at the end of the season.
- 41:53They, you know, they did. They got eliminated from the
- 41:55playoffs and then no showed that game against the Capitals.
- 41:59We talked about earlier with Ovechkin's last game, but it's
- 42:01not going to be his last game for his career.
- 42:04Well, if you look at the body of work that happened here over the
- 42:06last 37 games, I'm sorry, that's the coach.
- 42:11Where's the coach's thing? Rick's everyone saying Rick
- 42:13speaks to his heart. I have the wrong thing up here.
- 42:17I'll get the you know what, I'll get the video up, but I'll just
- 42:19talk about it. He went completely after his
- 42:22team. He said they had no heart, that
- 42:24they don't care, that the players, you know, they don't,
- 42:27they don't want to win. Basically everything you would
- 42:30say if you're trying to get fired.
- 42:32But will he? Because the culture over there
- 42:35is certainly toxic and they were mediocre trying for an eighth
- 42:40seed at best all year anyway. They collapse at the end of the
- 42:44season. My question to you, Errol, is
- 42:47this a coach who's a little old who lost the team, or is this a
- 42:51team that needs to be broken up? Slick Rick bonus here's what
- 42:59I'll say he's absolutely right. The team didn't show up to the
- 43:02game didn't look like they wanted to step on the ice.
- 43:04They didn't want to play. They look like they were not
- 43:07even excited to try to win that game.
- 43:11The fact here is the blue jackers Blue Jackets were one of
- 43:15the hottest teams in two weeks after the old after I'm sorry,
- 43:18the Olympic break. They were playing good hockey
- 43:20and they were actually following Rick bonus.
- 43:23All of a sudden everything started to tear right down.
- 43:25It was like bricks were falling down from the wall and Rick
- 43:28bonus had every right and by the way he was crying.
- 43:31He was upset. It wasn't like he went out there
- 43:34and just attacked these guys. He cried.
- 43:36It hurt him. It hurt him that he trained
- 43:38these guys. He worked these guys out.
- 43:40He made these guys play hard all season long and then all of a
- 43:43sudden in the final game of the season just show up play for me,
- 43:46and I think he has every right to be upset about what happened.
- 43:49I I think Rick bonus should keep his job.
- 43:52He showed that he cares and he wants to continue with this team
- 43:55and and see what this team could be next.
- 43:57Year. Yeah, this is like a.
- 43:58Successful company. Before you go, I just want to
- 44:00give you the quotes. I got the quotes up.
- 44:02If I'm back, we're changing this freaking culture.
- 44:05I've dealt with this before. If we're back, we'll straighten
- 44:08it out. These guys, they don't care.
- 44:10Losing is not important enough to them.
- 44:12It doesn't bother them. How can you go out and play like
- 44:15that? Three hits, 23 giveaways, It's
- 44:20terrible and inexcusable if they're not embarrassed by not
- 44:24only tonight, but that they're on the wrong team.
- 44:27Some of those guys are so lucky. The season's over and there's no
- 44:31practice tomorrow. Yeah, he's a good coach and he
- 44:34was a spark initially, like Errol saying.
- 44:36Slick Rick, baby. Slick Rick for everywhere he's
- 44:39gone so far. Dallas, he went to the Cup with
- 44:41Dallas in the COVID shortened year.
- 44:42Now it took a while to get a head coaching job again.
- 44:44I think Phoenix fired him or something like that and he was
- 44:46coaching with Ottawa, but before that when they were an
- 44:48expansion. One of the nicest people I've
- 44:50ever met at the NHL draft. Such a nice.
- 44:53Guy so yeah it took a while for him to get a head coaching job
- 44:55again but got it got Dallas then won a not a president stroke
- 44:58people was a very good team at Winnipeg created a contender
- 45:01over there then they got rid of him out of nowhere yeah so I
- 45:04think he's gotten kind of mistreated by certain
- 45:06organizations now this you're right fish.
- 45:08This is an organization that's been stuck in kind of
- 45:09mediocrity. Now they're never terrible but
- 45:11they're never great. Warren is a man and that's where
- 45:14I think you look at the maybe the young team of a core that
- 45:17might have to have some moving pieces because they have a lot
- 45:20of young players all at once They made the playoffs last year
- 45:22with the emotion which with Grudro but it's not a team that
- 45:24was sustainable. I I agree that they should keep
- 45:27bonus as a coach. They're not going to get a
- 45:28better coach out there right now that's going to want to come
- 45:30there. Actually, Speedy, they gave him
- 45:33a two year extension, which is which is pretty impressive.
- 45:37I don't know the last time a coach ripped his team that hard
- 45:40and was. Then he didn't RIP him.
- 45:42He cried, he was upset. He was.
- 45:44Crying. I mean, he was and you know what
- 45:46he should have been, but that's that's like a team that just
- 45:50that's like, no. They gave off, they gave up.
- 45:53I don't know if I've ever coached a team that was like
- 45:56that. Q Have you ever been on a team
- 45:58that just like gave up like that?
- 46:00God. Right.
- 46:03How would you even handle that? Yeah, I.
- 46:05Would don't lie. You were on those Jet teams.
- 46:07They gave up. What are you talking about?
- 46:11No, we lost game, but we didn't give up.
- 46:13You can't. What year?
- 46:15I can't even name them I. Can't say the game.
- 46:18Look, you can say we even with the bug fumble, we we didn't
- 46:22give up. Hey, just played.
- 46:23Think of it this way. Q also played for the 2015
- 46:26Dolphins. I had an interim coach named Dan
- 46:28Campbell. You had to bring up the butt
- 46:29formula. You had to bring that up.
- 46:31Thank you. Thank.
- 46:33You but no, no, you just can't you can't tolerate I mean,
- 46:35especially with you know, professionals.
- 46:38I don't I don't really understand that you only got a
- 46:39job to do so at the end of the day, it's like, hey, why not
- 46:43just do your job? You only got to, you know, be
- 46:45bothered with anything else. But, you know, it starts with
- 46:47the top, you know what I mean? So the head coach got to, you
- 46:49know, find a way to get these guys to buy in.
- 46:53And sometimes that means get rid of them 'cause I said I'd be
- 46:59like, yeah, go ahead and go buy your business.
- 47:02I, I mean, I wouldn't, I've had to throw kids off of teams
- 47:05before. It does happen.
- 47:07You know what I mean? Like they just, you know, have
- 47:10to, it just has to happen. Sometimes you pass, you pass a
- 47:12line, you can't let it ruin the rest of the product.
- 47:16You can't have your authority taking over.
- 47:17I'll let you. I think that was happening.
- 47:19Right. Oh well, he's he'll be back.
- 47:22I'm curious to see all the movement there.
- 47:24There's some guys that could be moved that might be interesting
- 47:27this offseason. All right, let's take a look.
- 47:29Errol. Errol, this is special for you.
- 47:32This is a sneaker head one. Caitlin Clark, horrible sneaker.
- 47:38Look at that thing. That thing is happening.
- 47:40That's what I'm talking about. All right, so here it is,
- 47:47Caitlin Clark's latest Player Edition sneakers, the Nike Kobe
- 47:505 Pro TRO. That's what I'm talking about.
- 47:54Rookie of the Year edition sold out instantly on the Nike
- 47:58Sneakers app upon their release at 10 AM on.
- 48:01Good guys, good guys, good guys. 10 minute lottery window and
- 48:06they were gone. I got a pair through.
- 48:08Where that window is over. Got a pair?
- 48:11You got these? I got a pair, yes.
- 48:14So you were online? Yeah, at that time.
- 48:17Oh, are you kidding me? I don't have to wait.
- 48:19I'd buy them online, man. What?
- 48:21Well, no. No, a lot of repeat.
- 48:24They just came out yesterday. I know, I know, I have them.
- 48:27He don't have. You want to bet?
- 48:29I believe that he might. You want a bet?
- 48:31They're coming I. Know you want to bet yeah okay
- 48:35all right so I'll show you so show you I.
- 48:37Bet they even look worse in person.
- 48:40They're beautiful. They're going for a little over
- 48:43400. Look at.
- 48:46I didn't get a 400 by the way. We get the pose with the
- 48:49basketball. Look, Caitlin Clark, she makes
- 48:55money. Errol, I know you have feelings
- 48:57about this, so I'm just going to say it straight up to you Dial.
- 49:01It up. I'm loving it.
- 49:04I love Caitlin Clark. I love what she stands for.
- 49:07She's selling shoes, sneakers, whatever.
- 49:10She's making the WBNBAWNBA back on tour.
- 49:14I mean, think about it. She is selling.
- 49:17She's selling sneakers faster than NBA players are selling
- 49:20sneakers. It says a lot about who she is,
- 49:22what she stands for, and what she is all about for the WNBAI.
- 49:26Don't want to hear about Reese Angel Reese.
- 49:28Her ugly Reebok shoes. I care about Nike.
- 49:31Nike's the biggest sale. Nike's the one we're going with.
- 49:35And guess who's running Nike? Caitlin friggin Clark.
- 49:39Don't. Eat it, Eat it, Eat it.
- 49:41Stick it. Stick it, Stick it.
- 49:43Caitlin. Caitlin.
- 49:44Caitlin. That's all I'm going to say.
- 49:46Caitlin Clark, the biggest superstar right now in the WNBA,
- 49:50She is what everybody wishes to be.
- 49:53Caitlin Clark. Wishes to be.
- 49:56Drop it like it's hot. Drop it like it's hot.
- 50:00Drop it like it's hot. She's a talented individual.
- 50:02I won't say she's hard. 00. Better than I see what you see
- 50:06when you see that. Better than Reese, better than
- 50:09Reese. She's the Steph Curry.
- 50:12Steph Curry of the WNBA baby. Her shoe looks like a prototype
- 50:18go wrong and they just threw some paint on it, some red and
- 50:21silver paint on it, just like hey, this is your signature
- 50:24shoe. Terrible Angel Reese got swag
- 50:27swag style custom. It looks some looks the part I'm
- 50:32just telling you she's not the oh man, that's what she looks
- 50:35like too. She looks like you bet actually,
- 50:38and I think about it. That's why you liking her.
- 50:42I mean, look at that. She's she's got.
- 50:45Nothing. Oh my God.
- 50:46She's got, she's got the athletic frame.
- 50:49That's what I'm going to say. You know she.
- 50:55Got get a frame all right. If Caitlin's on baby, she's.
- 50:59Looking really, really good in the offseason.
- 51:02She got back in that, that international tournament that's
- 51:06going to go to. Caitlin for Three World.
- 51:08Championships. She dominated it.
- 51:11I've got a feeling she's going to take the basketball, women's
- 51:14basketball. I got one Caitlin for 400.
- 51:19I think she'll be overrated. I think she'll get a lot of hype
- 51:21again this year, but she won't. It won't at all.
- 51:26She won't win nothing. It'll just be Nike machine
- 51:29pushing her, pushing her and her shoe the whole season.
- 51:32Oh, just eat it, Angel. Reese couldn't sell a pair.
- 51:35She's like that Angel Reese. Yeah, I like the Angel.
- 51:38Wilson's they just dropped shut out the Angel.
- 51:40Witch and I'm 400 bucks fell out right away.
- 51:45Shout out to Asia Wilson getting becoming the first WNBA Max
- 51:49player. By the way as well getting that.
- 51:51Caitlin Clark. Max contract.
- 51:52Caitlin Clark brought that. To.
- 51:55Caitlin Clark brought that to the league.
- 51:59Now queue, You're tripping if you think that Angel Reese is
- 52:03bringing that. Do you see what the ticket
- 52:05prices were when she got traded to Atlanta?
- 52:07Yeah. And that's why he moves the
- 52:08needle. They're gonna realize.
- 52:09They're gonna realize that those two first round draft picks are
- 52:12worth more than cheap. You don't score enough points,
- 52:13but in regards to what's did she moved and needed for the dead.
- 52:17Point Why don't you call her? Why don't you call her?
- 52:19Why don't you reach out to her? I think she's doing more I'm,
- 52:23you know, power to her doing all the things in this makes my
- 52:25picture work on her shot a little bit, you know, be better
- 52:28at basketball. You gotta have the.
- 52:31Booting. Maybe we will, maybe we will.
- 52:33It should be an exciting WNBC, like a serial dealer starting in
- 52:37a month. Arrow, Arrow, Angel Russo Never
- 52:38make jobless Peckerhardt. That's Sophie Cunningham's
- 52:40departments. I gave up everybody ever made.
- 52:43All right, what do we got next? Come on.
- 52:45Last one, we're going to get into it.
- 52:47This one I normally don't do, but here is Capitol Hill, this
- 52:51is Congress. And here's the question, can
- 52:54Congress save sports fans from the streamers?
- 52:59We talk about this all the time. There is a bill in Congress, an
- 53:03act being talked about that both parties, both Republicans and
- 53:06Democrats are are agreeing on right now.
- 53:10We're going to try to end all of the regional blackouts because
- 53:15of the streamers, NBL, NBA, MLBTV and NBA League Pass will
- 53:19not be able to black games out. If you live in the state where
- 53:22the game is, just because you're not in the local area, you have
- 53:25to be able to watch that game. So you don't have to pay for
- 53:28Netflix, you don't have to pay for Amazon or Peacock or all the
- 53:32other things. This is going on right now,
- 53:35Errol. If you were on Capitol Hill, how
- 53:39would you vote? I vote for yes.
- 53:44Why not free games? Watching all the games for free,
- 53:47Who wouldn't like it? But guess what?
- 53:50It's never going to happen. Never.
- 53:52Why not? They're debating it now.
- 53:54They can debate it all they want.
- 53:56It's never going to happen. They're going to find a way to
- 53:58argue. Well, who's making this and
- 54:00who's making? How about we're politicians,
- 54:02We're going to make some money on it.
- 54:03We're going to do something. We're going to pull something
- 54:05out of our ass and we're going to make a buck out of it.
- 54:07That's what politicians do. I'm guaranteeing you right now
- 54:10it's never going to happen because the politicians are
- 54:13going to have their hands deep into the money of the equity of
- 54:18these sports. It's never going to happen.
- 54:20I wish it does, but it's never going to happen.
- 54:22Yeah, I agree. But why are they even debating
- 54:24this? Why is this a bill on the on the
- 54:26in the Congress at all? Like why is it even on the
- 54:29table? That's what I'm trying.
- 54:30To all right, so I I teach social studies and here's why
- 54:33they want to get reelected and this is a super popular right
- 54:37track with all fans and all voters, right If you can get
- 54:40them free stuff and not have to pay for the streamers to get it,
- 54:43what are they going to be like yeah, drop the drop so low.
- 54:48Yeah. Hit me with the drop barrel.
- 54:50What are the fans going to be like?
- 54:52Not. Key during your agenda.
