- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up bond Relatables.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Is there a male loneliness epidemic or just facing the
- 0:04Speaker 2: consequences of their own actions? There is a males not
- 0:07Speaker 2: wanting to evolve epidemic.
- 0:10Speaker 1: That's a very good way to put it, you know, evolution,
- 0:14Speaker 1: That's a very good way to put it. Relatable. Hello,
- 0:26Speaker 1: my beautiful business building, baddies, business building. Oh sorry, I
- 0:33Speaker 1: wanted to try a new intro because I've been listening
- 0:36Speaker 1: to a lot of giggly squads they call there. I'm
- 0:39Speaker 1: a I am a giggler, all right, and they start
- 0:43Speaker 1: each one with like, hello, my galactic gigglers or my
- 0:47Speaker 1: something gigglers starting with a G. I was like, what
- 0:49Speaker 1: can we do with b in the baddies? Why don't
- 0:51Speaker 1: we just steal their stuff? I don't know, it might
- 0:54Speaker 1: not stick, it might not either way. The Relatables podcast
- 0:57Speaker 1: is hosted by myself, Clark Okay and my partner in crime,
- 1:01Speaker 1: mister Jake Craig aka Daddy, who, if you're not watching video,
- 1:06Speaker 1: is holding his new child, a new child. Darcy. Oh
- 1:11Speaker 1: Darcy beget Craig feels good. Oh is that what you do?
- 1:13Speaker 1: A middle name? Beget? Because why ain't you going to
- 1:17Speaker 1: keep beget. Why are you gonna keep the get? And
- 1:18Speaker 1: I was like, because I don't like it and she's
- 1:21Speaker 1: not your horse.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It's funny how because if that was a child. Yeah,
- 1:26Speaker 2: no one would say anything about the name.
- 1:28Speaker 1: No, everyone has something to say about a dog. Now
- 1:30Speaker 1: it's a dog. They're like, they feel like they have
- 1:31Speaker 1: a say. People can't the audacity. Yeah, they think of
- 1:35Speaker 1: their opinion. Your child, you could call it bloody. I
- 1:38Speaker 1: don't know whatever you want it? Actually, okay, what okay,
- 1:41Speaker 1: I'm going to say three names. I want to know
- 1:44Speaker 1: how far I can take it if you if you
- 1:48Speaker 1: for you to say something about what I would name
- 1:49Speaker 1: my child, you know, I like unique though, go go go, Okay,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I've got three. One of them's first one's gonna be female.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Number one Lyria Lyria. Yeah, would you just call it
- 2:03Speaker 1: lily for short?
- 2:04Speaker 3: Though?
- 2:04Speaker 1: H Lyria? What would I call it for? It kind
- 2:06Speaker 1: of sounds like leary A mosquito would give you. I
- 2:09Speaker 1: would love to have it though, yeah, malaria. So you
- 2:13Speaker 1: wouldn't say anything. No, I wouldn't say anything. Okay, boy Darrow,
- 2:22Speaker 1: I would advise you that sounds like Darrow like it
- 2:25Speaker 1: sounds like because I think in Australia, we will shorten
- 2:29Speaker 1: the word darrelict to Darrow and we all know what
- 2:32Speaker 1: darrelict means, and we'll be like, oh what, that's such
- 2:34Speaker 1: a darrow house. Darrow house, but Darrow. I would advise
- 2:39Speaker 1: you that it sounds like Darrow, which is like but
- 2:41Speaker 1: it's but it's spelled d A R R O W.
- 2:48Speaker 1: That is trying to be different. Now, I'd lad to
- 2:50Speaker 1: have it. Okay. What about Pax Pax? Yeah, I can
- 2:54Speaker 1: that's the best word pas. Yeah, cool name, isn't it
- 2:56Speaker 1: hardly to have that? Girl Victor? I feel like you're
- 3:01Speaker 1: adding like Victor and picture picture, No that you have
- 3:08Speaker 1: that too. What about boy Lysander? I think I would
- 3:13Speaker 1: say it sounds like lys I'm glad you said that
- 3:15Speaker 1: because we don't like licender. Yeah right. These all names
- 3:18Speaker 1: that you've gone over. These are all names from a
- 3:20Speaker 1: book I've read, Lysiandra. I've always thought had authors come
- 3:25Speaker 1: up with a cool name Lysander. Yeah, so good question. Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Also posted a video last week of me saying like,
- 3:33Speaker 1: oh no, I posted it the other day. Well it
- 3:36Speaker 1: was the other day from whatever recording this last week
- 3:38Speaker 1: for everyone listening, it was about the whole last names thing,
- 3:41Speaker 1: and I put in the caption like comment what mine
- 3:44Speaker 1: and Beth's new last last name should be? And Beth's
- 3:47Speaker 1: sitting on the lounge and she's reading the comments and
- 3:49Speaker 1: she's laughing. There's a company called Calvert supply the hat
- 3:53Speaker 1: I was wearing, and they commented, you should change it
- 3:55Speaker 1: to Calvert. Also, don't hate that, Jake Calvet. Bethany Calvert like,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you don't mind that, don't hate that. But Beth goes,
- 4:03Speaker 1: what's with everyone commenting Ryerson'd? And I was like, hmmm, no, no, no, no, no,
- 4:11Speaker 1: what do you think though, Jake Ryerson? Bethany Ryerson rolls
- 4:14Speaker 1: off the tongue. She goes, is this from a book?
- 4:17Speaker 1: I was like, no, She's from a book, isn't it?
- 4:19Speaker 1: And I was like, how about before you start accusing,
- 4:22Speaker 1: you start reading? Yeah, what's we've had a predisposition of
- 4:26Speaker 1: books of the names, word of the week. Yeah, no,
- 4:29Speaker 1: it wasn't. That's from my brain. That was a good
- 4:31Speaker 1: one though. She's a good question. I think I fucking
- 4:36Speaker 1: loved the last name Ryerson.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yeah, would you actually someone did make a good point
- 4:40Speaker 2: in changing your last name.
- 4:41Speaker 1: It's just a lot of paperwork and we know you're
- 4:43Speaker 1: against paperwork, I'm against admin. Yeah, that's like I'm again
- 4:47Speaker 1: licenses past or. Its very yesterday. I just got I
- 4:52Speaker 1: just ordered my birth certificate because my dad lost to
- 4:55Speaker 1: one of his, sorry, the one of mine that he had.
- 4:57Speaker 1: All right, it's sad. Also, what age does your birth
- 5:01Speaker 1: certificate become your responsibility? Is his fault? I have a
- 5:05Speaker 1: copy and that my parents have another copy, so I
- 5:07Speaker 1: think they have the legit. And I got the copy. Yeah,
- 5:09Speaker 1: my dad had the legit. My mum had the copy. Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 1: has And so I was like, oh, I need I
- 5:14Speaker 1: need my certificate so I can get my Canadian passport.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Can you send it to me? And she's like, oh yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I can send it to you can send it via
- 5:20Speaker 1: some sort of special mail. So it's like a very
- 5:22Speaker 1: low chance of getting lost. And then my Joanna said,
- 5:24Speaker 1: you know you can just order one. You know, you
- 5:27Speaker 1: can just get a replacement.
- 5:28Speaker 2: You know that, because I had to get one really
- 5:30Speaker 2: quickly for some reason I can't remember why.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it was only seventy bucks. Yeah, and I got
- 5:35Speaker 1: another one. But pretty cool. Hell is this like somewhere
- 5:37Speaker 1: in the world everyone's birth certificates, like it's obviously on
- 5:41Speaker 1: a double days now. It's also pretty generic information, like
- 5:47Speaker 1: it asked me a few questions about my name, date
- 5:50Speaker 1: of birth, where I was born, dad's name, mum's name,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and that was it. Yeah, there's really not much info
- 5:54Speaker 1: on it. But I was ordering it. And you can
- 5:59Speaker 1: get a commemorative birth certificate, yeah, the fancy ones of
- 6:03Speaker 1: cool writing and shit. Yeah, so you can get in Australia,
- 6:04Speaker 1: you can get like an indigenous one, and so I
- 6:07Speaker 1: was looking at it. Man, it did say if you
- 6:09Speaker 1: get a commemorative commemorative one, you can't use it for
- 6:12Speaker 1: something like a passport. So I didn't get it, but
- 6:15Speaker 1: you can get There is two options for this, by
- 6:18Speaker 1: the way, two separate designs of Bluie no way you
- 6:22Speaker 1: know the carto. Yeah, it could have got two different
- 6:25Speaker 1: design commemorative birth certificates that had.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Blue Blow Blow bro Bluey's to taken over the World day. Honestly,
- 6:34Speaker 2: you go, you go shopping for toys that you go anywhere.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Blue is everywhere it is also, and you're right, world
- 6:38Speaker 1: is not under Sorry, it's not over stating that like
- 6:42Speaker 1: it is. So I've watched a bit of it, mid
- 6:45Speaker 1: Oh you don't like it. I've watched a bit of
- 6:47Speaker 1: it with some young cousins, and I kind of liked it.
- 6:50Speaker 1: It's kind of funny, like it's the modern day Pepper Pig.
- 6:53Speaker 1: If I do say so myself, Pig, It's like, it's
- 6:57Speaker 1: the modern day Pepper Pig. If the parents, if the
- 7:04Speaker 1: massive dad sorry yeah yeah yeah, Like the dad doesn't ainken,
- 7:09Speaker 1: the whole world shakes and he starts walking up the
- 7:11Speaker 1: hill and everything shakes. Couldn't do that today, But so
- 7:17Speaker 1: it's if I do say so of myself, blue is
- 7:19Speaker 1: a modern day Pepper Pig. If Pepper Pig's parents liked
- 7:24Speaker 1: to throw like parties with their friends in Bluey. There's
- 7:27Speaker 1: just it's like almost geared towards adults. Slightly genius, Beck, We.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Wanted to start the episode with the relatables voice males.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yes, today, the.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Prompt is cheating or not cheating, and we're going to
- 7:39Speaker 2: get to the bottom of it. So headphones on. I'm
- 7:42Speaker 2: came for this, all right, Jake. I have three Two
- 7:45Speaker 2: are connected, ones different. Two are connected in a sense.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Don't tell me like she sent one and he sent one. No no, no, no, no,
- 7:52Speaker 2: let's start. So cheating or not cheating.
- 7:54Speaker 4: You've had a long term boyfriend for two and a
- 7:56Speaker 4: half years, and then one day you get really drunk
- 8:00Speaker 4: with two of your friends and then you have a
- 8:03Speaker 4: threesome with them, and then you say, oh, it wasn't
- 8:05Speaker 4: cheating because they're all girls, right, But but then you say,
- 8:12Speaker 4: do not tell him at all, and if he finds out,
- 8:17Speaker 4: he's going to kill me. But it's fine because I'm straight.
- 8:22Speaker 4: But you did also you did. You did also beg
- 8:27Speaker 4: the other people to have sex with you because you
- 8:29Speaker 4: were all drunk.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Okay, okay, interesting, tough start. I'm gonna say cheating.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I'm gonna say sexual intercourse with any gender that isn't
- 8:44Speaker 2: your boyfriend or your boyfriend.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Also talking about it like it didn't happen, but far
- 8:51Speaker 1: too specific that it didn't happen everything though, like it's
- 8:58Speaker 1: just a father. Jake just moent out to the par
- 9:02Speaker 1: had a couple of beers. I was corny, didn't mean anything,
- 9:05Speaker 1: but I still love you. Do you do you love
- 9:12Speaker 1: it when I'm inside you? Oh? Yeah, of course your
- 9:17Speaker 1: sex is way better than the sex ahead of them
- 9:18Speaker 1: two girls. They're just friends. Okay, so experimental who instigated?
- 9:25Speaker 1: If I did, well, you get angry. It's not what
- 9:27Speaker 1: I asked, I just want to know who instigated me
- 9:32Speaker 1: when I was drunk? You instigated when you were drunk
- 9:34Speaker 1: when I was drunk? Yeah, emphasis on drunk. Were they
- 9:37Speaker 1: like straight away into it or were you like took
- 9:41Speaker 1: a little bit of convincing but then they into it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: That's worse. It's much worse. But you're telling me you
- 9:49Speaker 1: got drunk and begged on hands and knees for your
- 9:53Speaker 1: two friends to have a threesome with you while we're together,
- 9:58Speaker 1: and you still love me. It's so cheating. She was
- 10:04Speaker 1: like gaslighting herself in there. I think, come, you didn't
- 10:09Speaker 1: tell you if you're still with him? M to me,
- 10:12Speaker 1: it sounded like she hasn't told him. Also, it could
- 10:15Speaker 1: be by the fact that you're like, so obviously none
- 10:20Speaker 1: of us are lesbians, because we were all just having
- 10:23Speaker 1: a bit of fun. But don't tell my boyfriend because
- 10:27Speaker 1: he'll kill me. The answer in itself is a night
- 10:32Speaker 1: to be What a fucking night? All right? Next one
- 10:37Speaker 1: they're connected, you'll see hi.
- 10:40Speaker 5: So basically, my ex he went on a trip to
- 10:44Speaker 5: Thailand and one night he was feeling it and he
- 10:49Speaker 5: basically took some funny stuff with one of his friends
- 10:54Speaker 5: that I only knew about him when they such other
- 11:00Speaker 5: in Thailand and basically they were having the time of
- 11:07Speaker 5: their lives and he well, they made out with the
- 11:14Speaker 5: guy friend because it was the only way for them
- 11:18Speaker 5: to show how much they loved each other. He never
- 11:24Speaker 5: talked about it. He talked about the party, but he
- 11:28Speaker 5: never said anything. And then when he came back after
- 11:32Speaker 5: the trip, like two months later, he explained it to
- 11:37Speaker 5: me like some kind of funny story.
- 11:41Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 11:42Speaker 5: I feel like it might be, but I don't know.
- 11:48Speaker 5: I don't know if guys usually they just make out
- 11:52Speaker 5: with their guy friends just out of fun. But yeah,
- 11:57Speaker 5: it was not smoosh. It was like a proper meet out.
- 12:01Speaker 5: So yeah, let me know what you think.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Wow, what do we think? First of all, I think
- 12:09Speaker 1: that there is plenty of other ways to tell someone
- 12:12Speaker 1: how you feel about them as a friend, come on,
- 12:14Speaker 1: without having to make out with them. Also, words exist,
- 12:20Speaker 1: you could say I really appreciate our friendship. You make
- 12:23Speaker 1: me feel great. I love you. I was thinking though
- 12:26Speaker 1: when we were it's gonna sound crazy to start. When
- 12:30Speaker 1: we were on Gilly t in Bali, Yeah, we had
- 12:33Speaker 1: a similar situation around Finish go On, Go on. I'm
- 12:40Speaker 1: here for it, Guilly.
- 12:42Speaker 2: T Ireland off Indonesia is known for fun in a
- 12:48Speaker 2: sense of you can put two and two together, connect
- 12:51Speaker 2: the dots.
- 12:51Speaker 1: No, I think you need be more specific. Okay, what mushroom? Okay,
- 12:54Speaker 1: no one was thinking that, But no one was thinking
- 12:56Speaker 1: mushrooms the way you just explained that. Anyway, it sounds
- 13:00Speaker 1: like a swinger's island something. Maybe that's why I wanted
- 13:04Speaker 1: to go. No. Me and Jake were there and we
- 13:06Speaker 1: had some fun. But I remember vividly tripping out looking
- 13:15Speaker 1: up at the stars, yeah, and.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Thinking how much I valued our friendship as well as
- 13:20Speaker 2: one of our other friends.
- 13:22Speaker 1: And not one time did I think I just got
- 13:24Speaker 1: a lips change. That's what I was saying that. Do
- 13:26Speaker 1: you know what you did in that situation? You told me,
- 13:29Speaker 1: I remember it. You told me nothing against him kissing it. God,
- 13:34Speaker 1: but you had a girlfriend at the time. Yeah. Yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 1: I would say it's cheating.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Yeah, like going back to the first one, any sort
- 13:42Speaker 2: of irrespective of gender, kissing, hooking up, having sex.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's cheating. Was also you were going to go on,
- 13:49Speaker 1: so you're also called a friend to tell him and
- 13:50Speaker 1: he cried.
- 13:53Speaker 2: I was cute not friends with him anymore, all right,
- 13:59Speaker 2: last one.
- 14:00Speaker 6: Okay, So I was talking to this guy for I
- 14:05Speaker 6: don't know, like four months, and I'm Australian. I'm a
- 14:09Speaker 6: twenty five year old from Australia born raised all right here,
- 14:13Speaker 6: and he was twenty eight born raised in England, like
- 14:16Speaker 6: he lives in England. So yes, very very very long distance.
- 14:21Speaker 6: But besides the point, we were like doing all the
- 14:25Speaker 6: stuff that you do in relationships with both the middle.
- 14:26Speaker 6: We had feelings. We both admitted we wanted this to
- 14:28Speaker 6: go further, Like he was planning to come to Australia,
- 14:31Speaker 6: like the whole lot, and he like were obviously like
- 14:39Speaker 6: sending like moods and stuff like that. But anyway, Oh
- 14:43Speaker 6: and then I just before Christmas, I got this sudden
- 14:47Speaker 6: urge to go like look at his page, like really
- 14:50Speaker 6: like look at his page. And I ended up going
- 14:51Speaker 6: back to like twenty eighteen, and I found him wearing
- 14:57Speaker 6: a wedding ring. So I messaged him about it because
- 15:00Speaker 6: why not. And I'm like, hey, like are you married?
- 15:05Speaker 6: And he's like, hey, yeah, I actually am married. And
- 15:09Speaker 6: I'm like, oh what the fuck, like what what? And
- 15:13Speaker 6: he's like oh, but it's okay, it's not really cheating
- 15:15Speaker 6: if it's international, And I'm like, what if I'm just
- 15:22Speaker 6: you know, slowly slowly going insane over here, But like
- 15:25Speaker 6: maybe it's not cheating if it's international, because like it's
- 15:27Speaker 6: not you know, but is this cheating or no?
- 15:32Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 15:34Speaker 2: We used to have an acquaintance who was from Sydney, Yes,
- 15:39Speaker 2: and he would come to the Center Coast for holidays
- 15:42Speaker 2: and completely wrong. He would say, there's an imaginary line
- 15:46Speaker 2: between Sydney and the Center Coast a war. Yeah, what
- 15:50Speaker 2: happens on one side doesn't affect what happens on the
- 15:52Speaker 2: other side.
- 15:53Speaker 1: And in Sydney was where his girlfriend lived.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, then uh fuck, yeah that was so I
- 16:05Speaker 3: guess there is an ocean.
- 16:08Speaker 1: No, no, no, that's cheating. Sure, that's insane. That's so insane.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I feel bad all the other ones we got sent,
- 16:15Speaker 2: like twenty twenty five, they were all blatantly cheating.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Oh really yeah I walked in Yeah, because she was
- 16:21Speaker 1: sucking his deer.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 1: It was like, yeah, like kissing another girl on a
- 16:25Speaker 1: night out. Like, if you think it's cheating, cheating, we
- 16:28Speaker 1: want one borderline. But all right, so next week, Jake,
- 16:32Speaker 1: what is the question what made you realize that you
- 16:35Speaker 1: are petty? Oo link will be in the description for
- 16:39Speaker 1: the voice note sending mechanism. So yes, send them in
- 16:44Speaker 1: and we want to know what made you, what made
- 16:46Speaker 1: you realize you're petty? And maybe we'll tell you if
- 16:49Speaker 1: you're petty or not. Yeah, I think so. We might
- 16:50Speaker 1: back you up petty. Sometimes these things can be fully
- 16:53Speaker 1: valid in my opinion. Oh yeah, one hundred percent. Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 1: And so if you have a reason why you did
- 16:56Speaker 1: the petty thing at that in there, yeah, and we'll
- 16:58Speaker 1: tell you. Alright, baddies, welcome back to our new segment.
- 17:07Speaker 1: You know what you love it, Ins and outs of
- 17:10Speaker 1: the week. Let's do it. Can I kick things off? Jake? Yes,
- 17:13Speaker 1: let's start with outs. Let me hear it not taking accountability? Hey,
- 17:20Speaker 1: they like that. Everyone should take that on board. A
- 17:22Speaker 1: bit of green flag energy and so an inn would
- 17:25Speaker 1: be taking Yeah. So now ins and it has to
- 17:31Speaker 1: be perfect Ted healthy energy drinks. My fridge is stocked, same, bro.
- 17:37Speaker 1: So many energy drinks have like the craziest packaging and
- 17:41Speaker 1: so many artificial ingredients. I don't even know what half
- 17:44Speaker 1: of them mean. Right, That's why Marissa created perfect Ted
- 17:47Speaker 1: Healthy Energy Drinks. She didn't even have us guys in
- 17:49Speaker 1: mind when making them, and they actually slap. Yes, they do.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Bro powered by Marcher. That's where we're getting their energy
- 17:56Speaker 1: from and the ingredients they're all natural as well. I
- 18:00Speaker 1: love apple Rasberriy is always going down a tree apple
- 18:03Speaker 1: raspberry A. I really like the juicy peach Hay got
- 18:06Speaker 1: a really nice flavor to it. I mean it's good.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I like it. I can't argue with you. But where
- 18:11Speaker 1: do you get yours from? Cole's Oddie? You know? I'm Nicoleson?
- 18:14Speaker 1: So am I all right? Jake up next.
- 18:23Speaker 2: I'm actually super intrigued to talk about this. Yeah, it's
- 18:28Speaker 2: ig question of the Week. But before we get into that,
- 18:31Speaker 2: we want to say, if you're enjoying the podcast, twenty

- 18:41Speaker 2: the running to win merch.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yes you do. And also while you're doing that, don't

- 19:37Speaker 1: like three dollars of your money each month. They take
- 19:39Speaker 1: a cut.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's either I actually read up on it. So
- 19:43Speaker 2: because we just changed the price of Patreon, and I
- 19:45Speaker 2: get to pick if iOS takes money from the fans
- 19:50Speaker 2: the members, or we take the beating.
- 19:53Speaker 1: There's no option for them to take the beating.
- 19:55Speaker 2: So yeah, so there's a three dollar iOS cost and
- 19:58Speaker 2: either we have to take it and we lose three
- 20:01Speaker 2: dollars each person, or the battie who signs up via iOS,

- 20:09Speaker 2: Yeah he'scept b iOS.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Oh shit, fuck you now, confused apples crazy, and it's
- 20:14Speaker 1: per month. It's not just the one off thing they
- 20:16Speaker 1: make it that devil's That must be why I'm getting
- 20:19Speaker 1: charged twenty one a month by Apple now for some
- 20:20Speaker 1: random shit. I don't know what I'm getting paid for
- 20:22Speaker 1: in charge for, but I just get every month. Actually,
- 20:24Speaker 1: I feel like I get it every two weeks. I
- 20:26Speaker 1: feel like it's every two weeks. Every two weeks I
- 20:28Speaker 1: get an email nine, Yeah, here's your invoice for twenty
- 20:32Speaker 1: one ninety nine for Apple, And I'm thinking, why did
- 20:34Speaker 1: it go up ten dollars?
- 20:36Speaker 6: What?
- 20:37Speaker 1: What have I done? How do I get rid of that?
- 20:40Speaker 2: It's probably all these memberships that they added a three
- 20:42Speaker 2: dollars surcharge on the or something. But yeah, go a
- 20:45Speaker 2: Patreon and we can vent about that's more so I do.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Question of the week is is there a male loneliness
- 20:52Speaker 2: epidemic or just facing the consequences of their own actions?
- 20:56Speaker 1: Can I say what I think? Yeah? Okay, so that
- 20:59Speaker 1: should I said?
- 20:59Speaker 6: No?
- 21:00Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no, let's get it. I think that the word
- 21:10Speaker 1: epidemic is very making men feel like victims. It's almost
- 21:20Speaker 1: giving us an excuse. The word epidemic. It's so like, oh,
- 21:25Speaker 1: poor us. There's a male loneliness epidemic, it should be
- 21:29Speaker 1: more like there is male loneliness. I mean, I actually
- 21:34Speaker 1: don't know if there is or not, because if there's
- 21:36Speaker 1: male loneliness, then I assume there must be quite a
- 21:39Speaker 1: bit of women loneliness as well. But it should just
- 21:42Speaker 1: be more like hands up, we okay. So I was
- 21:48Speaker 1: thinking thinking about it earlier. You need to think about
- 21:51Speaker 1: it like how women back in the day, obviously we're
- 21:55Speaker 1: like this patriarchy's fucked. You know. Men used to be
- 22:01Speaker 1: and quite often still are, like terrible to women. So
- 22:04Speaker 1: they were like, well, we're not just going to cry
- 22:07Speaker 1: about it and just blame, blame, blame, We're going to
- 22:11Speaker 1: do something about it. And they did and they still are,
- 22:14Speaker 1: you know, but they like basically emancipated themselves from them.
- 22:19Speaker 1: So I think the same thing needs to happen. Instead
- 22:21Speaker 1: of being like poor me, we need to be like, yep,
- 22:26Speaker 1: society did raise us like this, and instead of just
- 22:29Speaker 1: going this is society's fault, what do you expect from me?
- 22:34Speaker 1: Society raised us like this, So it's like, obviously something
- 22:37Speaker 1: went wrong. Let's learn how to do it right, and
- 22:41Speaker 1: let's teach the new generation how to do it right
- 22:43Speaker 1: instead of just being like male loneliness epidemic, Like it's
- 22:46Speaker 1: almost like it's being blamed on women.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I agree, because the debate is the rate of single
- 22:52Speaker 2: men's going up, yep, the rate of depression in men's
- 22:54Speaker 2: going up, the rate of suicide men's going up. Last one,
- 22:58Speaker 2: very real problem. But I agree with you in a
- 23:01Speaker 2: sense of there's a lot of blaming going on and
- 23:04Speaker 2: not a lot of accountability.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Accountability is a perfect word, yeah, which.
- 23:09Speaker 2: I think sparks a very interesting debate, and yeah, it's good.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 1: So my first one.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Kind of going off exactly what we're saying, is there
- 23:20Speaker 2: a male loneliness epidemic or just facing the consequences of
- 23:23Speaker 2: their own actions. There is a male's not wanting to
- 23:26Speaker 2: evolve epidemic.
- 23:29Speaker 1: That's a very good way to put it, you know, evolution,
- 23:32Speaker 1: that's a very good way to put it.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, And like thinking about it, men love to just
- 23:38Speaker 2: point and they say this is the reason I can't
- 23:41Speaker 2: help it. Yeah, it's the generations before me and I'm
- 23:43Speaker 2: just I'm here as a result, Yeah, there's no evolving,
- 23:47Speaker 2: whereas like to your point, women evolved to sort the
- 23:52Speaker 2: issue at hand, it's still an issue and they get better.
- 23:56Speaker 1: But it's interesting funny that it just everything feels as
- 23:59Speaker 1: though we need to point a finger, like it's okay,
- 24:05Speaker 1: it's like this. I feel like there's a lot of
- 24:08Speaker 1: people saying women don't want to have children anymore. So
- 24:13Speaker 1: it's like that's kind of a geared sentence. You know,
- 24:16Speaker 1: I'm not super I don't know woke or political like that,
- 24:21Speaker 1: but it's like a very geared sentence because it's like, women,
- 24:24Speaker 1: how dare you not want to have children anymore? But like,
- 24:28Speaker 1: but if I was a woman, I don't want to
- 24:30Speaker 1: have children with you. It's like this sentence should be, Hey, men,
- 24:35Speaker 1: women don't want to have children with us anymore? How
- 24:38Speaker 1: can we fix that? Like it's not the women's problem,
- 24:42Speaker 1: it's like, how can we fix this men's male issue
- 24:47Speaker 1: instead of you know, it's like the way sentences are worded, well.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Yeah, the evolution of men in the sense of men
- 24:53Speaker 2: used to be provide and that's all you have to do,
- 24:58Speaker 2: roof over the head, food on table, that's it, and
- 25:00Speaker 2: then you're a man.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Yeah, where women.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Have realized that Wait a second, I can do that
- 25:04Speaker 2: myself and I don't have to deal with all your
- 25:06Speaker 2: fucking shit.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah, why would I have a kid with you? Just
- 25:09Speaker 1: to get that women can literally have a kid via
- 25:12Speaker 1: artificial insemination or whatever. I think I think it's Is
- 25:15Speaker 1: it artificial insemination? Is that what's called? Yeah, basically they
- 25:19Speaker 1: can have a kid without us now yeah, yeah, yeah
- 25:21Speaker 1: yeah yeah. Anyway, my first one, I've got a long answer.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I went from the replies on the story from the
- 25:29Speaker 1: perspective of a woman being blamed. I think women have
- 25:33Speaker 1: realized that we don't have to fall into once into
- 25:37Speaker 1: the once prevalent societal pressures of finding a man to
- 25:41Speaker 1: settle down with and have kids. We know our worth
- 25:44Speaker 1: and value our time. This means that subpar men are
- 25:48Speaker 1: no longer being put up with because we've realized we
- 25:52Speaker 1: actually don't have to deal with their bullshit. Men also
- 25:56Speaker 1: historically know very little about their friends, don't ask questions,
- 25:59Speaker 1: and don't invest time or effort into having deeply rooted,
- 26:01Speaker 1: emotional and supportive relationships with their friends like women do.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I think the story should be less along the lines
- 26:08Speaker 1: of male loneliness and more so geared toward men learning
- 26:12Speaker 1: to be better partners, to become reliable friends, and to
- 26:16Speaker 1: build relationships with their friends, family, and loved ones from
- 26:19Speaker 1: the ground up. Anyone who blames a woman for this
- 26:22Speaker 1: issue needs to learn to be a better man. Yeah.
- 26:26Speaker 2: That really like iron into the two points of relationships,
- 26:31Speaker 2: platonic with their friends as well as loving relationships with
- 26:35Speaker 2: their partners. Men don't know how to do either of them. Yeah,
- 26:39Speaker 2: and as a result, they're lonely because of how bad
- 26:42Speaker 2: they are in relationships.
- 26:44Speaker 1: It's it's it's yeah. I saw another one that said, like,
- 26:49Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, there is a male loneliness epanemic and
- 26:51Speaker 1: it's and it's because men genuinely just don't like women. Yeah,
- 26:56Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like the way they act,
- 26:59Speaker 1: They're like, they don't like women as people. They just
- 27:02Speaker 1: objectify them. Yeah, And I guess it's like again, I
- 27:07Speaker 1: think the more conversations had about needing to take accountability
- 27:12Speaker 1: instead of being like poor us, hopefully the more it
- 27:17Speaker 1: shifts towards going in the right direction. I think.
- 27:20Speaker 2: So I like to we like to play Devil's Advocate
- 27:22Speaker 2: on the podcast, and we get a lot of comments.
- 27:25Speaker 1: With ah, we bashed men a little bit, and we
- 27:30Speaker 1: like to.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I mean, I know right now I'm trying to play
- 27:33Speaker 2: devil's advocate in the sense of like where could their
- 27:36Speaker 2: mindset be in a sense of.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Like I don't see it. I mean, well, right now though,
- 27:40Speaker 1: like we're not even bashing men, we're kind of just saying,
- 27:42Speaker 1: like the answer is is accountability?
- 27:46Speaker 2: Is there any justifications to why a man can be
- 27:48Speaker 2: lonely and have all these problems outside of it's their fault?
- 27:53Speaker 1: I don't actually know.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the only argument I can see them say saying
- 28:00Speaker 2: is generational things.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Because again though like yeah, yeah, generational is like as
- 28:05Speaker 1: an excuse, yeah, exactly, And it's like if you know
- 28:08Speaker 1: it's generational, you know it's generational, you know the answer.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Therefore you know how to come up with a solution. Yeah.
- 28:13Speaker 2: It's they're accepting something when it shouldn't be accepted. Yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 2: it's actually it's very Yeah.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I mean I gotta say, like I didn't know. I
- 28:23Speaker 1: don't think I've always thought like this, But I also
- 28:27Speaker 1: don't think that even you know, at least in my
- 28:31Speaker 1: small bubble of life, like the term male loneliness epidemic,
- 28:36Speaker 1: didn't hear that till probably last year. Agreed, you know
- 28:39Speaker 1: what I mean, Like, when we were younger, it wasn't
- 28:41Speaker 1: a thing that we heard well.
- 28:42Speaker 2: In our relationships, our platonic relationships. We have said countless
- 28:47Speaker 2: times that we've lost majority of our friends, the older
- 28:49Speaker 2: we've got semi as a result of this podcast, but
- 28:52Speaker 2: also in hindsight, looking at it now, it's because even
- 28:56Speaker 2: we didn't know how to have relationships we've men.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah, So like our relationships with our friends just clearly
- 29:02Speaker 1: weren't that strong.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, and we said that too, like surface level stuff.
- 29:05Speaker 2: The only two that I've maintained is I didn't do
- 29:08Speaker 2: it on purpose by any means. Is I formed a
- 29:11Speaker 2: deeper connection with them because we had shit going on
- 29:13Speaker 2: in our lives and for some reason it felt right
- 29:16Speaker 2: to talk to them about that.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yeah. And that was two out of fifteen people.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and I lost the rest of them because it
- 29:22Speaker 2: was so surface level and there was no relationship there.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Yeah, looking at it now, Yeah, it's funny. It's really funny.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Like I would say I have a there's a couple
- 29:32Speaker 1: a couple of friends that I say, we have one
- 29:35Speaker 1: mutual that was part of our friend group that I
- 29:37Speaker 1: would still is definitely still a friend. And then I
- 29:41Speaker 1: have another friend who I just have a few friends
- 29:45Speaker 1: that I was closer with when I was younger, and
- 29:48Speaker 1: then after growing up a bit, maybe starting the podcast
- 29:52Speaker 1: and having it maybe do kind of well, I was
- 29:54Speaker 1: only really a couple that I felt genuinely like, good
- 30:01Speaker 1: for you, you know what I mean? And well I
- 30:05Speaker 1: don't get And again it's not like a poor me situation.
- 30:07Speaker 1: It's just like a cool observation. I feel like that's
- 30:12Speaker 1: what they were really.
- 30:13Speaker 2: I would even categorize it as I'm sure it happens
- 30:16Speaker 2: in different places, but an Australia problem, an Australian men problem,
- 30:21Speaker 2: because great example being Kelly Holiday, he made a brilliant
- 30:26Speaker 2: song came second in the Tottest one hundred for Triple J.
- 30:29Speaker 2: The amount of shit that bloke gets for making a
- 30:32Speaker 2: brilliant song is insane. Australia six Season is an Australian
- 30:36Speaker 2: artist comes second the Hottest one hundred. Fucking one of
- 30:38Speaker 2: the probably the best songs in the past three years
- 30:40Speaker 2: ever come out and he just gets shit on because
- 30:42Speaker 2: he's doing well, yeah, and a lot.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Of people supporting. Everyone hates his girlfriend, yeah, and he
- 30:48Speaker 1: loves his girlfriend and also like advocates for women in general,
- 30:52Speaker 1: and he cops shit for it. Like I keep seeing
- 30:55Speaker 1: these videos of this one guy online that dresses up
- 30:58Speaker 1: like Kelly Holiday and then acts like Kelly Holiday, but
- 31:02Speaker 1: then will be like, I don't know, I just need
- 31:04Speaker 1: to go to the bathroom when he goes into the
- 31:06Speaker 1: girl's bathroom, like saying that he is a woman or
- 31:09Speaker 1: something like that. And so I think that, Look, the
- 31:13Speaker 1: guy making those videos obviously made one and it went viral.
- 31:17Speaker 1: And I don't know if he makes them because he
- 31:19Speaker 1: genuinely hates Kelly Holiday or if he makes them because
- 31:22Speaker 1: he thinks they're funny. But the thing is is like
- 31:26Speaker 1: doing that is sending like the wrong message, if that
- 31:34Speaker 1: makes sense. So it's like the guy that makes the
- 31:36Speaker 1: videos is probably doesn't hate women, or maybe he does
- 31:39Speaker 1: have no idea and he probably doesn't want women to
- 31:42Speaker 1: be fucking murdered and he doesn't you know, he probably
- 31:44Speaker 1: doesn't want that. You know, no one wants that. But
- 31:47Speaker 1: like he is actually doing the opposite of what should
- 31:51Speaker 1: be done. Hard to work, I'm trying to you know what, like, yeah, yeah,
- 31:55Speaker 1: it's the younger generation that sees those videos. Is he's like, yeah, yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 1: it seems.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Like a surface level problem in a sense, but it
- 32:00Speaker 2: has a way biggest bill ever effect. And I don't
- 32:03Speaker 2: know if it's just Australia, but it seems to be
- 32:05Speaker 2: successful men especially as well. No, it is just men
- 32:09Speaker 2: and other men hate on them just because it's easier
- 32:12Speaker 2: to hate and bring people down than it is to
- 32:14Speaker 2: compliment and celebrate people's successes.
- 32:17Speaker 1: He's not just hat he's not just bullying Kelly Holiday. No,
- 32:20Speaker 1: he's like maybe intentionally, maybe unintentionally sending a message that, like,
- 32:26Speaker 1: you should not be like Kelly Holiday because that makes
- 32:29Speaker 1: you a fucking pussy woman. That's what he's saying, right,
- 32:32Speaker 1: and that's how so many young people are gonna take it.
- 32:35Speaker 1: And I when I watched them, it makes me cringe.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I'm like, how are you fucking hating on a dude
- 32:41Speaker 1: that's actually trying to make a bit of a difference
- 32:43Speaker 1: and use his platform to make a bit of a difference.
- 32:45Speaker 1: It's a great role model, fantastic. He always sticks up
- 32:49Speaker 1: for his girlfriend, like and and like always like advocates
- 32:52Speaker 1: women and stuff, and he just cops hate for it
- 32:55Speaker 1: for some reason.
- 32:55Speaker 2: He's also openly I think it's confronting in a sense.
- 32:58Speaker 2: He's I've seen videos in before, openly talked about his
- 33:02Speaker 2: growth as a man, to see that an Abby as
- 33:04Speaker 2: his girlfriend has taught him a lot of things as well. Yeah,
- 33:07Speaker 2: and I think it's confronting for men who don't want
- 33:09Speaker 2: to admit that they've done something in the wrong, that's
- 33:10Speaker 2: past wha was he has admitted in the past that
- 33:12Speaker 2: he's done things that are wrong.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's the whole thing.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Where they can't take accountability round circle to mainly male
- 33:18Speaker 2: loneliness epidemic. There's no way in the world any man
- 33:20Speaker 2: could say I'm part of the problem.
- 33:23Speaker 1: But that's like that is And it took me so
- 33:28Speaker 1: Beth is actually the one that explained to me that
- 33:30Speaker 1: all of the quote unquote good men, right, Obviously, there's
- 33:34Speaker 1: heaps of good men, obviously, but it is the good
- 33:39Speaker 1: men that won't accept that even though they're good men,
- 33:44Speaker 1: they're part of the problem because nothing is done about it.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Like women can't fix this issue. The bad men aren't
- 33:52Speaker 1: going to fix this issue because they enjoy it. It's
- 33:54Speaker 1: the fucking quote unquote good men that actually need to
- 33:57Speaker 1: step up and fix the issue or at least try.
- 34:00Speaker 1: M hm. But everyone's like, but I'm a good man, Yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 1: watch anything, but I'm a good man, Like Okay, it's
- 34:06Speaker 1: part of the problem be a good man. Then yeah,
- 34:08Speaker 1: like and again like guilty, You've been like that before.
- 34:13Speaker 1: I've been like that.
- 34:14Speaker 2: It's trying to explain the thinking of when you are
- 34:18Speaker 2: like that. You don't realize the magnitude of the problem
- 34:20Speaker 2: when you're in it. Yeah, you just think, Yeah, you
- 34:23Speaker 2: have these spillover comments in your brain where you're just like,
- 34:25Speaker 2: that's just how so and.
- 34:26Speaker 1: So is Yeah, that's yeah. And then it's like, I'm
- 34:29Speaker 1: not like that. Yeah, I'm not like yeah, yeah, and
- 34:32Speaker 1: that's just who he is. And you take offense like
- 34:35Speaker 1: a lot of people would probably take offense to being
- 34:37Speaker 1: like so, I know, I know, like it would be
- 34:40Speaker 1: hard to hear yeah, like there's probably more that we
- 34:42Speaker 1: could do and more we could have done, and there
- 34:45Speaker 1: is more that we probably will need to do and
- 34:49Speaker 1: hearing someone be like yeah, but you know, you just
- 34:54Speaker 1: you think, for a guy that feels like he's done
- 34:56Speaker 1: everything right his whole life, if you get told but
- 34:58Speaker 1: you've been doing this one thing, you get defensive, Oh
- 35:01Speaker 1: yeah you do. And again you just need to be like,
- 35:03Speaker 1: you know what, fuck, that's valid acceptance.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but there's I don't know what the shift can be.
- 35:10Speaker 2: It's almost like so many things then to happen for
- 35:13Speaker 2: there to be a change.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I do think that just like the thing that
- 35:17Speaker 1: needs to be done is it just needs to be
- 35:19Speaker 1: talked about, that just has to be a start. Yeah,
- 35:22Speaker 1: I agree. Yeah.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Is there a male loneliness epidemic or just facing the
- 35:27Speaker 2: consequences of their own actions? Most men are quite lustful
- 35:31Speaker 2: and the others aren't actually intentional with dating. Before they
- 35:35Speaker 2: take girls out, a lot of them try to impress
- 35:37Speaker 2: girls rather than actually get to know someone, and when
- 35:40Speaker 2: they do that, we can see their insecurities rather than
- 35:43Speaker 2: healthy detachment and confidence. Most men need to build up
- 35:45Speaker 2: their own lives to offer us something, and they actually
- 35:48Speaker 2: need to start being happy by themselves first rather than
- 35:51Speaker 2: looking for someone to feel that loneliness hole in them.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Most of them have the character of a brick.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Right Okay, Yeah, yeah, I mean that's definitely not I
- 36:03Speaker 1: wouldn't say that's wrong. Yeah.
- 36:04Speaker 2: It kind of comes back to how you said how
- 36:06Speaker 2: men view women in a sense too.
- 36:08Speaker 1: M m yeah, true. Yeah, but you know women a
- 36:11Speaker 1: lot of time the men will look women as an
- 36:14Speaker 1: object and also, like you know how there's this like
- 36:19Speaker 1: sort of narrative where you know, sometimes quite often you
- 36:25Speaker 1: see it on like a TikTok video where to be
- 36:26Speaker 1: like women won't like you unless you have X y
- 36:30Speaker 1: Z type shit. And it's also like when has a
- 36:35Speaker 1: woman a woman sorry, ever actually been the one to
- 36:38Speaker 1: say that, Like, so many men think that they need
- 36:41Speaker 1: to have money, a fucking six pack. They think that
- 36:47Speaker 1: just existing women should worship them and shit like that. Yeah,
- 36:51Speaker 1: but it's like they've never even heard a woman say that.
- 36:54Speaker 1: They've only ever heard like a fucking red pill man
- 36:56Speaker 1: say that on a TikTok video. Yeah, so you know
- 37:00Speaker 1: what I mean. Again, they're the reason there's a problem.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Yeah, fine, and I'm thinking too of like there's no
- 37:09Speaker 2: substance in a lot of men.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Yeah no, I think you would be right. Yeah, that
- 37:13Speaker 1: sounds right. And you don't know why because we've never
- 37:15Speaker 1: had a deep relationship with a friend. Yeah, I've never
- 37:17Speaker 1: been able to know. We've never been able to show
- 37:19Speaker 1: our personality because we're all fucking like you go.
- 37:22Speaker 2: To the pub and talk to the boys, and you
- 37:25Speaker 2: do this in a lot of life, but there's no
- 37:27Speaker 2: deeper connection.
- 37:27Speaker 1: You talk about the same ship, footy betting, fucking how
- 37:33Speaker 1: hard work was, Yeah, that's it, how much you hate work.
- 37:36Speaker 1: How much you hate work, and that's the extent, and
- 37:38Speaker 1: then you just get fucked up. And then when you
- 37:40Speaker 1: get too fucked up, you actually talk about how much
- 37:42Speaker 1: you appreciate someone as a mate. And that's the only
- 37:44Speaker 1: time it will ever come out is when you're extremely intoxicated,
- 37:47Speaker 1: and then you never talk about it again when you're sober.
- 37:50Speaker 1: I know, they're like, the only time a friend of
- 37:52Speaker 1: friends ever told me about family issues as well, like
- 37:55Speaker 1: fucked up, and I'm like, I remember, it's a great example.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I won't any names because it was quite a They
- 38:01Speaker 1: had two bad things in their life happened, and what
- 38:04Speaker 1: they would do because their men and they didn't have
- 38:06Speaker 1: the tools to talk about it when they weren't intoxicated.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Every single weekend they would get absolutely fucked up and
- 38:12Speaker 1: do an absolute all nighter and talk about all their
- 38:15Speaker 1: feelings all weekend, and then when they was sober a
- 38:18Speaker 1: week never talk about again, get head noise, do it
- 38:20Speaker 1: all over again. And it was just this rotation of unhealthiness,
- 38:23Speaker 1: and the only way they could ever talk about it
- 38:24Speaker 1: was with alcohol getting fucked and that went on for
- 38:27Speaker 1: like three months. This is just a question. Right, that's
- 38:34Speaker 1: clearly an unhealthy way to go about it. But I
- 38:37Speaker 1: wonder if it worked. I wonder if it helped.
- 38:41Speaker 2: But I think the result of that was you can't
- 38:44Speaker 2: help but feel sorry for someone who has to do
- 38:45Speaker 2: that because they've had a traumatic thing happened to them.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the byproduct was maybe it did help,
- 38:52Speaker 2: but this person's association with alcohol now is just dark. Yeah,
- 38:59Speaker 2: because all we ever did was talk about dark shit
- 39:00Speaker 2: when he was so maybe it did work, like not
- 39:02Speaker 2: promoting it at all. No, No, it's terrible to go
- 39:05Speaker 2: about just trying to think.
- 39:05Speaker 1: I can wonder if it helped it all. Yeah, that's
- 39:08Speaker 1: that's the extent that men will go to to talk
- 39:10Speaker 1: about these deep things, rather than just saying, hey, man,
- 39:13Speaker 1: like I'm having troubles at home with my family. I know,
- 39:16Speaker 1: like I'm sad. Fuck. Maybe we should try Maybe we
- 39:25Speaker 1: should like start trying a thing on here. We could
- 39:29Speaker 1: do it off the pot as well. We could have
- 39:31Speaker 1: like something like, what's something that maybe has like made
- 39:34Speaker 1: you feel happy this week? What's something made you feel
- 39:38Speaker 1: sad this week? What like have you felt anxious this week?
- 39:41Speaker 1: Maybe we should start trying that I like that. Oh
- 39:44Speaker 1: hell yeah. Sometimes when I find like if I'm anxious,
- 39:49Speaker 1: I very like, I don't know. Maybe once a week
- 39:52Speaker 1: feel a bit of anxiety. I'm like, I know that
- 39:55Speaker 1: this is an anxious feeling, but I don't know why
- 39:58Speaker 1: I'm anxious. Yeah, you said that a fair bit, you
- 40:00Speaker 1: know what I mean.
- 40:01Speaker 2: It's like that feeling in your gut and a sense
- 40:03Speaker 2: of I often go through my my I have it
- 40:05Speaker 2: as well, and what I do in my head is
- 40:07Speaker 2: like go through different things of why it could be nervous,
- 40:09Speaker 2: and I tick all these things off.
- 40:10Speaker 1: I'm like, no, they're fine. That's so funny. We're so
- 40:14Speaker 1: fucking like robotic as men. We're so logical, Like, Okay,
- 40:19Speaker 1: I'm anxious. This shouldn't happen. I'm not allowed to be human.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Let me list off everything that could make me anxious.
- 40:26Speaker 1: What's everything that's happening right now? I mean, hey, if
- 40:30Speaker 1: it's coping. If it is, it's just so funny how
- 40:33Speaker 1: logical we are today in the car, Beth and I
- 40:36Speaker 1: drove you together, and we drive past Macas and get
- 40:39Speaker 1: a coffee. This is like so funny. So BET's like, oh,
- 40:43Speaker 1: can you please get me a regular iced dirty chai
- 40:48Speaker 1: with like extra extra ice because Macis never does much ice.
- 40:52Speaker 1: She's like, I want extra extrace and so I asked,
- 40:54Speaker 1: so extra and so I was like, so fair, and
- 40:58Speaker 1: so I asked, I said, can I get extra extra ice?
- 41:01Speaker 1: And I kind of like laughed, and I was like
- 41:03Speaker 1: trying to not sound like someone that's like super demanding.
- 41:06Speaker 1: I was like, I want them to think like, you know,
- 41:07Speaker 1: we just asked for ext rice because clear we never
- 41:09Speaker 1: get a strice. Yeah, And so she repeated it back
- 41:11Speaker 1: to me and she's like with the extra extra ice.
- 41:13Speaker 1: And I was like, sweet, she's emphasized it. Yeah. And
- 41:15Speaker 1: so then we we wait in the waiting bay and
- 41:17Speaker 1: they bring out Beth's thing and they she's looking at it.
- 41:22Speaker 1: They walk off and she's looking at it and it's
- 41:25Speaker 1: just like a thin layer of ice on the top.
- 41:27Speaker 1: And I was and she goes, she was like she
- 41:30Speaker 1: was annoyed. Obviously, she goes, it's just annoying because they
- 41:33Speaker 1: always always do this, you know, they always do it.
- 41:38Speaker 1: And so I you went back in no, oh, I
- 41:46Speaker 1: could have could have just fucking free. I don't know
- 41:49Speaker 1: why they are. Yeah, And so I was like, don't
- 41:54Speaker 1: say it, don't say it, don't say it, don't say it,
- 41:55Speaker 1: don't say it. Why do you even get them from me? Oh?
- 41:58Speaker 1: I didn't. I was like, look, she's annoyed. Yeah, fair,
- 42:02Speaker 1: We asked for extra extrace they didn't give it to us.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But I was just like, I really wanted to just
- 42:07Speaker 1: be like, here's the thing. Though it was gonna make
- 42:09Speaker 1: it her issue. That's why I didn't do it. Bad
- 42:11Speaker 1: boyfriend if I did this. But what I wanted to
- 42:13Speaker 1: say was like, why do you even get cough of me?
- 42:16Speaker 1: If you know what's gonna be bad? But like she's
- 42:17Speaker 1: given a chance. See that's a bad thing that I do.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I'm always like and I'm like making it so like
- 42:21Speaker 1: best the issue, and I'm thinking, like, you know, fuck,
- 42:23Speaker 1: mackis how do you.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Bring up a problem? This is actually really good broad
- 42:27Speaker 2: spectrum for men. So say one person, partner, friend, is
- 42:32Speaker 2: feeling one way about something and their emotions are valid
- 42:36Speaker 2: to them, but you strongly feel different about said thing.
- 42:40Speaker 2: How do you voice that without invalidating the other person?
- 42:44Speaker 1: That's actually the fucking best question because I've always wondered,
- 42:50Speaker 1: so sometimes people do have feelings like so I've always
- 42:55Speaker 1: been a big or not always actually maybe in recent years,
- 42:59Speaker 1: I don't like to invalidate someone's feelings because I don't
- 43:03Speaker 1: know how they're feeling. You know, they feel a tough
- 43:05Speaker 1: way about this thing. I think it's dumb, but they don't.
- 43:09Speaker 1: But like, sometimes feelings probably just do need to be
- 43:12Speaker 1: black and white invalid So how do you tell that
- 43:16Speaker 1: to someone who's feeling a certain type of way about
- 43:18Speaker 1: a thing.
- 43:19Speaker 2: I don't know. It's a question because it happened in
- 43:22Speaker 2: my relationship recently. We had a fight about it because
- 43:25Speaker 2: I was taking accountability. I was invalidating her, but I
- 43:29Speaker 2: was trying to I felt differently about it. I was
- 43:31Speaker 2: trying to voice how I felt, but that inherently made
- 43:34Speaker 2: me seem like I was invalidating her.
- 43:37Speaker 1: I mean, and I guess you were, and I was,
- 43:39Speaker 1: and I couldn't voice that.
- 43:41Speaker 2: We calmed down and talked about it, and I tried
- 43:42Speaker 2: to explain that exact conversation to you.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Yeah, like I wasn't invalidating you.
- 43:46Speaker 2: I felt differently about it, and I understand where you're
- 43:48Speaker 2: coming from, but I I couldn't put it into words
- 43:51Speaker 2: at all, and I was just fucking rambling about that.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's almost like you just need to listen. You
- 43:57Speaker 1: just need to listen. But I guess you have a
- 43:58Speaker 1: difference of opinion. I don't know. I think that.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Because round circle again. I'm round circling a lot the
- 44:06Speaker 2: male loneliness epidemic. A lot of men feel very strongly
- 44:10Speaker 2: about a thing, and their way of saying that is saying, no,
- 44:14Speaker 2: my way is right, you're always wrong. I think the
- 44:16Speaker 2: first bit is to take accountability and you're allowed to
- 44:19Speaker 2: believe whatever the fuck you want. But also you have
- 44:21Speaker 2: to accept that whatever's in that person's head is right
- 44:23Speaker 2: to them.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Yeah, fair to an extent obviously. Yeah, yeah, we know
- 44:28Speaker 1: what things about it? Yeah yeah, I mean just like, yeah,
- 44:30Speaker 1: when it comes to like an opinion, yeah, yeah, yeah, opinion.
- 44:33Speaker 1: But god, that's such a good question. I don't even know. So,
- 44:37Speaker 1: so the situation isn't like because let's say you're complaining
- 44:43Speaker 1: about something and I know how to fix the problem.
- 44:46Speaker 1: It's like sometimes you just don't want to hear how
- 44:49Speaker 1: to fix the problem. You just want me to. Yeah.
- 44:51Speaker 1: I got the best scenario.
- 44:52Speaker 2: I'm sure this friend won't mind me saying I'm not
- 44:53Speaker 2: going to say his name, but he is an anti vaxxer. Yeah,
- 44:58Speaker 2: And he's against vaccination, right, okay, and he knows he's
- 45:02Speaker 2: trying to date women. He's actually a nice guy, really
- 45:04Speaker 2: nice guy. I really like him. And but he he
- 45:07Speaker 2: knows that his problem for being single is that his
- 45:10Speaker 2: opinion on vaccinations is that you shouldn't have them. Yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 2: and he knows he's the problem, but he won't change.
- 45:15Speaker 2: I mean, I guess, someone you very strong opinion, you
- 45:18Speaker 2: are allowed.
- 45:19Speaker 1: To be an anti vaxxer. I guess. But like when
- 45:23Speaker 1: he's meeting women, is the conversations about vaccines coming up,
- 45:26Speaker 1: and he's like, oh no, they're they're the worst thing ever,
- 45:30Speaker 1: Like I'm an anti vaxxer. And if then she goes,
- 45:32Speaker 1: well I think vaccines are good, and then he's like,
- 45:36Speaker 1: fuck you, you're wrong. No.
- 45:38Speaker 2: I think it's more just like all right, well I
- 45:40Speaker 2: don't want to continue this date anymore.
- 45:41Speaker 1: This would be this is oh him or yeah, but
- 45:44Speaker 1: he doesn't want a date if a person that likes vaccination, yeah, yeah,
- 45:47Speaker 1: oh yeah, that's just his problem. Like you just need
- 45:49Speaker 1: to find an anti vaxxer. I guess.
- 45:50Speaker 2: But I feel like that's what men do. They'd be
- 45:51Speaker 2: just like, rather than resolve in the issued hand, they go.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Like, well, it's just like that's just how I am.
- 45:57Speaker 1: I don't believe vaccination.
- 46:00Speaker 2: I only found this out recently for me too as
- 46:03Speaker 2: a friend of this relationship. Although I don't agree with it,
- 46:07Speaker 2: I can respect the decision. Yeah, Like I mean, it's
- 46:11Speaker 2: not my life.
- 46:12Speaker 1: So that's the things where I was like, I don't know,
- 46:15Speaker 1: is being an anti vaxxer a friendship ending thing? Like,
- 46:21Speaker 1: am I not getting something because to me? So to me,
- 46:24Speaker 1: I would say no as well, because it's like you
- 46:26Speaker 1: not wanting to be vaccinated doesn't affect me being vaccinated.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I would disagree if you like didn't get your children vaccinated,
- 46:32Speaker 1: But again it's like those are your children, they're not mine.
- 46:36Speaker 1: So it's like, because you know how you know, being
- 46:39Speaker 1: friends with someone that's like racist is like a line
- 46:42Speaker 1: and a friendship ending thing. Is being an anti vaccer
- 46:46Speaker 1: like that? And there's something I'm missing comment I want
- 46:49Speaker 1: to know genuinely because like, yeah, but then it doesn't
- 46:53Speaker 1: come back to the problem at hand. Is is that
- 46:56Speaker 1: a problem?
- 46:57Speaker 2: And we should instead of being like, well, this doesn't
- 46:59Speaker 2: affect me, we should be like, you know, vaccinations are
- 47:02Speaker 2: actually proven to be really good and saved a lot
- 47:04Speaker 2: of societies, and we voice that is that where the
- 47:07Speaker 2: problem is at hand?
- 47:08Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, so let me think about this. If someone
- 47:09Speaker 1: was an anti VAXXA and they were like trying to
- 47:11Speaker 1: preach it on me, I'd be like, you're annoying. But
- 47:13Speaker 1: he's not like that. Yeah, So it's more like if
- 47:15Speaker 1: it just comes up to conversations, Yeah, I don't get vaccinated.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I want to talk about it, about it, but like,
- 47:20Speaker 1: don't try and sway mic, Like I'm happy to have
- 47:22Speaker 1: a debate.
- 47:22Speaker 2: And his opinion is why quite he's not, but why
- 47:27Speaker 2: he's lonely and doesn't have a partner. It's because of that,
- 47:29Speaker 2: and I think broader spectrum, a lot of men have
- 47:33Speaker 2: a lot of those opinions way worse than that. Opinionated
- 47:36Speaker 2: things about politics, race, la la la la lah list goes.
- 47:38Speaker 1: On and on and on, and rather than admit that
- 47:41Speaker 1: there could be other ways to view the world, they
- 47:43Speaker 1: just die on their high horse. They do love the
- 47:45Speaker 1: Dinah hill. Yeah, yeah, the whole and like it's not understanding, Yeah,
- 47:50Speaker 1: they love the DNA hill. That's the thing again, is
- 47:53Speaker 1: like this friend, Right, Let's say someone has a ulmost
- 48:00Speaker 1: argument of being like oh no, here's why I disagree
- 48:05Speaker 1: with any VAX's And in his head when he hears
- 48:09Speaker 1: this argument, he goes, dang, that's actually makes a lot
- 48:11Speaker 1: of sense. Men love to just be like I still disagree.
- 48:15Speaker 1: They hate to be like you just rearranged everything I
- 48:20Speaker 1: believe in, which is fine. You're allowed to change. YEA
- 48:24Speaker 1: four years ago, I was like, I'm not getting married
- 48:27Speaker 1: if them, if they're not going to take my last name.
- 48:29Speaker 1: And then someone sent a comment or like send us
- 48:31Speaker 1: a message, and so to me, this still annoys me. Oh,
- 48:34Speaker 1: I had this opinion, and I tried telling you and
- 48:36Speaker 1: to listen to you. Yeah, someone actually is because you're
- 48:39Speaker 1: not articulate, and so someone articulately placed it very well,
- 48:42Speaker 1: and I was like, valid, who's a fuck? Like who
- 48:44Speaker 1: actually gives a fuck? Or or maybe my friend eleged, we're
- 48:47Speaker 1: going to stop talking to you and to start writing
- 48:48Speaker 1: stuff down. You should make a ghost accounts and never
- 48:51Speaker 1: I have an opinion that you disagree with, make ghost
- 48:53Speaker 1: accounts and leave a comment. And then I'm swayed by the.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Bad I also think too, to any certain extent, how
- 48:58Speaker 2: the baddie said alone of men's personalities are.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Like a brick wall.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Yeah, one of those personality traits is admitting when you're wrong.
- 49:07Speaker 1: It's quite a good trait to have. Yeah, yeah, but
- 49:13Speaker 1: men don't see it that way. They think I should
- 49:15Speaker 1: be so authoritariative whatever the world is. Well, i'm right
- 49:18Speaker 1: and you're wrong. I should make all calls and I
- 49:20Speaker 1: am right, and even if I'm wrong, yeah, you're right,
- 49:24Speaker 1: You're very right. And that's like also comes down to
- 49:27Speaker 1: make maybe some sort of a human nature thing, but
- 49:30Speaker 1: it's just it's just scary to admit you're wrong and
- 49:32Speaker 1: someone else is right, and like in the next scenario,
- 49:35Speaker 1: you might be right and they might be wrong, you know.
- 49:38Speaker 2: But to summarize all this in an articulate way, we'll
- 49:42Speaker 2: say that the male loneliness epidemic is caused by men
- 49:48Speaker 2: who can't accept that they are part of the problem,
- 49:50Speaker 2: and the first way to make a change is acceptance.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Baddies, it's time for comments.
- 50:01Speaker 2: If you want to get your comment read, simply comment
- 50:03Speaker 2: on the episode you are listening to. I have last
- 50:05Speaker 2: week's Spotify Becoming a Dad with Jake did Child on
- 50:09Speaker 2: his Lap.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I have proof, Froddie.
- 50:11Speaker 2: I have Abby Spencer just want to say I'm so
- 50:14Speaker 2: glad I became a full time Battie instead of just
- 50:17Speaker 2: the book Club Battie.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Love the pod. Oh really, yeah, the funnels working some
- 50:24Speaker 1: of years. Come for the book Club, You're gotta stay
- 50:26Speaker 1: for the main I got one from the YouTube from
- 50:30Speaker 1: Brooklyn Kathleen dash h six z, Hey baddies. I was
- 50:36Speaker 1: thinking maybe sometime in the future you could do a
- 50:38Speaker 1: series kind of like The book Club, but instead it's
- 50:41Speaker 1: like a movie night type thing. I think it would
- 50:43Speaker 1: be hilarious. If you guys watch the show One Tree Hill,
- 50:45Speaker 1: it's drama field and I think it would be a
- 50:47Speaker 1: great time. I would love to see it. Also, love
- 50:49Speaker 1: the podcast guys. We've thought about that. We kind of
- 50:52Speaker 1: tried to do it with Love Island.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Yeah, it would be amazing if we got the copyright
- 50:58Speaker 2: laws for stuff and then we.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Could show snippets.
- 51:00Speaker 2: I guess you could do it the exact same format
- 51:03Speaker 2: as book Club. The thing with that is people aren't
- 51:06Speaker 2: as die hard for TV shows as they are books now.
- 51:10Speaker 2: It's not not quite as culty, Yeah, which is kind
- 51:13Speaker 2: of what you need for podcasts. You want people as
- 51:15Speaker 2: invested as we are.
- 51:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point. It's yeah, true, it's just
- 51:19Speaker 1: not quite as culty, is it. I mean, it would
- 51:21Speaker 1: be cool if we could somehow be this show that
- 51:24Speaker 1: did get the right to do this goggle Box style thing.
- 51:26Speaker 1: I would love that. Saying I would love that can
- 51:28Speaker 1: be great on goggle Box. I'm the biggest reactor to
- 51:31Speaker 1: TV shows. Heated Rivalry finished it? Also, why the fuck
- 51:37Speaker 1: is he here? Why did Heated Rivalry make me cry? I
- 51:40Speaker 1: don't know. If people want you to talk about it
- 51:42Speaker 1: can be Patreon. I fucking cried watching that show. Really,
- 51:47Speaker 1: I am not even kidding. Shit, you actually have to
- 51:50Speaker 1: watch it. Maybe so I will say this episode one,
- 51:56Speaker 1: I'm like, wha. These sex scenes are intense and then
- 52:00Speaker 1: kind of just like exposure therapy, didn't bat Night at
- 52:03Speaker 1: a single one. You just end up not giving a
- 52:04Speaker 1: ship because like in Game of Thrones, you know how
- 52:07Speaker 1: the sex scenes, even when they're heterosexual, they're just like
- 52:09Speaker 1: intense and you're like, holy fuck, you didn't they You
- 52:12Speaker 1: just kind of come become exposure therapy. Same thing, didn't
- 52:15Speaker 1: care at all? Okay, good show, I recommend.
- 52:18Speaker 2: It alrighty, and it is time for one of the
- 52:20Speaker 2: baddies to sign off the episode. If you want to
- 52:21Speaker 2: sign off the episode. The link will be in the description.
