- 0:00Speaker 1: Fly from Midtown Manhattan. Here comes the Mark Simone Show
- 0:05Speaker 1: on seven O R.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hey, another beautiful day to day. It's gonna be even
- 0:13Speaker 2: warmer today. We got a lot to get to. We'll
- 0:15Speaker 2: get to this, no King's stuff. We'll get to creepy,
- 0:19Speaker 2: dirty Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel. Excuse me, I apologize to
- 0:23Speaker 2: Jimmy Fallen. Nice guy, Jimmy Kimmel, disgusting, creepy guy. We'll
- 0:27Speaker 2: get to him. We'll get to Mom Donnie. We'll get
- 0:30Speaker 2: to Iran. We'll get to Cole Allen. We'll get to that.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Speaking of creepy, we'll get to that Doctor Fauci. Looks
- 0:39Speaker 2: like the walls of justice are closing in on him.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So the funniest thing was yesterday King Charles comes to Washington.
- 0:49Speaker 2: He meets the President at the White House. You saw
- 0:53Speaker 2: the pictures of them meeting. It was quite nice. The
- 0:56Speaker 2: first Lady, Milania Trump, then takes them on a tour
- 1:00Speaker 2: of the beehive at the White House. She's built this
- 1:03Speaker 2: beehive so they can produce their own honey, and the
- 1:07Speaker 2: beehives very cute. It looks like the White House. She
- 1:09Speaker 2: built it to look like the White House. They give
- 1:12Speaker 2: Prince Charles, King Charles, King Charles a tour of the beehive,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and people wonder, what does the king actually do? This
- 1:20Speaker 2: is what you do. Somebody leads you around, shows you
- 1:23Speaker 2: this beehive, and you have to pretend like you're interested,
- 1:26Speaker 2: like you find this fascinating, and you got to go, ah, oh,
- 1:30Speaker 2: I'm act excited about this now. Then this was the
- 1:34Speaker 2: funniest thing I ever saw. Then they all go to
- 1:38Speaker 2: the King and Camilla is she the queen? Yeah, she's
- 1:41Speaker 2: the queen. The King and Queen go to the British
- 1:45Speaker 2: embassy for a big Washington DC party, And it was
- 1:50Speaker 2: the silliest thing I've ever seen. It was Nancy Pelosi
- 1:54Speaker 2: and all the Democrats and Schumer, all the Democrats are
- 1:57Speaker 2: there greeting and slobbering all over King Charles. What happened
- 2:01Speaker 2: to that no king stuff? I guess you got over
- 2:05Speaker 2: that no kings thing. Here's an actual king. They're at
- 2:08Speaker 2: the reception. They went way out of their way to
- 2:11Speaker 2: be there to hug him, to shake his hand, to
- 2:13Speaker 2: tell them, how wonderfully what happened to your no king's stuff?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Here's an actual king, the real deal now, he's coming
- 2:22Speaker 2: to well, actually today he's going to address Congress. There'll
- 2:28Speaker 2: be a speech to Congress, and watch the Democrats. They'll
- 2:30Speaker 2: be nodding at what happened to you know, Kings Thing.
- 2:33Speaker 2: You're supposed to walk out, you're not supposed to be
- 2:36Speaker 2: there for this king. And then tonight is a big
- 2:39Speaker 2: state dinner at the White House, and you'll see all
- 2:44Speaker 2: the Democrats, all the top Democrats will be there for
- 2:46Speaker 2: the state dinner for the what happened to you know,
- 2:48Speaker 2: kings Thing and King Charles. You remember when he invited
- 2:54Speaker 2: President Trump over to England for a similar state dinner.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Remember the room that was in the It was in
- 3:00Speaker 2: this room in the palace that looks so ornate, so grand.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It was the most impressive room ever. Now he's going
- 3:10Speaker 2: to come to a state dinner in this little tiny
- 3:12Speaker 2: East room in the White House that holds about twelve
- 3:14Speaker 2: people and isn't much of anything. This is why you
- 3:17Speaker 2: need the ballroom. You got to have the ballroom. It's
- 3:19Speaker 2: got to look and these world leaders when they come
- 3:22Speaker 2: here can't believe the chintzy little room they got at
- 3:26Speaker 2: the White House to have an affair in. And if
- 3:28Speaker 2: it's bigger they got to go outside on a tent.
- 3:30Speaker 2: These world leaders all live in these incredible palaces, so
- 3:34Speaker 2: it's embarrassing. That's why you need a ballroom here, besides
- 3:37Speaker 2: the other reasons of security reasons. Then tomorrow Wednesday, the
- 3:43Speaker 2: King comes to New York, where Mam Donnie will greet
- 3:49Speaker 2: him and Mam Donnie will be all over him. He's
- 3:51Speaker 2: going to take him to a nine to eleven sort
- 3:53Speaker 2: of an event. Mam Donnie will be so gracious and
- 3:57Speaker 2: wonderful with the King. What happened to you know, wasn't
- 4:03Speaker 2: Mom Donnie one of those no Kings people. He's going
- 4:05Speaker 2: to be all over, slobbering all over this king. So
- 4:09Speaker 2: you know, that's the reason we we have the fourth
- 4:13Speaker 2: of July. It's the two hundred and fiftieth birthday of America.
- 4:16Speaker 2: That's why we wanted to get rid of the king.
- 4:19Speaker 2: So we revolted against the king and broke away from
- 4:22Speaker 2: the King. Actually there is a no King's Day, It's
- 4:25Speaker 2: called the fourth of July. So hey, the other thing
- 4:28Speaker 2: going on is Jimmy Kimmel. So everybody feels that ABC
- 4:34Speaker 2: has to fire the guy. First of all, he's got
- 4:37Speaker 2: just a few months left on the contract. It's not
- 4:40Speaker 2: even a contract, it's an extension of the old contract. Second,
- 4:47Speaker 2: the show loses money. It's expected to lose about forty
- 4:50Speaker 2: million this year. The show is a total failure. It
- 4:53Speaker 2: has a tiny audience. It's going to lose forty million
- 4:56Speaker 2: a year. Get rid of the thing. You remember, they
- 5:00Speaker 2: they didn't like what Roseanne was tweeting when she made
- 5:03Speaker 2: her comeback. She was tweeting a pro Trump stuff. They
- 5:06Speaker 2: said they didn't like her, and ABC fired her even
- 5:10Speaker 2: though her sitcom, which she had brought back, was a
- 5:12Speaker 2: big hit and was making twenty million a year for
- 5:15Speaker 2: the network. It was a hit, making twenty million. This
- 5:18Speaker 2: is a total ratings disaster, losing forty million, and they
- 5:21Speaker 2: haven't fired him. The guy made a disgusting joke. Now.
- 5:25Speaker 2: It was just before the assassination attempt. He made a
- 5:28Speaker 2: joke about Milania looks like an expectant widow. In other words,
- 5:33Speaker 2: your husband's going to be dead pretty soon. Now that's
- 5:35Speaker 2: an assassination joke. Although he claims not, He repeated the
- 5:41Speaker 2: joke again last night, claims it was a joke about age.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I said, our first lady, Mlani is here.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Look at her, so beautiful.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Missus Trump, you will have a glow like an expectant widow,
- 5:51Speaker 3: which obviously was a joke about their age difference and
- 5:58Speaker 3: the look of joy we see on her face every
- 6:00Speaker 3: time they're together. It was a very light roast joke
- 6:03Speaker 3: about the fact that he's almost eighty and she's younger
- 6:05Speaker 3: than I am. It was not, by any stretch of
- 6:09Speaker 3: the definition, a call to assassination.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah, he was her birth it was her birthday yesterday.
- 6:16Speaker 2: She's I think fifty seven, So that's a twenty two
- 6:20Speaker 2: year age difference. It's not that bad. It's not like
- 6:26Speaker 2: you know, an eighty year old with a twenty six
- 6:28Speaker 2: year old. I mean, it's not that big an age difference,
- 6:30Speaker 2: it seems. I guess you could claim that was what
- 6:34Speaker 2: he was. He could claim that's the point of the joke.
- 6:37Speaker 2: But I don't know if anybody's buying it. Will he
- 6:40Speaker 2: get fired? I don't know. This is up to Disney.
- 6:44Speaker 2: There's a new chairman of Disney, now we'll see. I mean,
- 6:48Speaker 2: I would take him off the air just because who
- 6:49Speaker 2: needs this, who needs this aggravation? And if they don't
- 6:53Speaker 2: fire him, you will only encourage him to do more
- 6:55Speaker 2: creepy disgusting jokes. And the problem there is you start
- 6:59Speaker 2: to lose a filly, and once you start losing the affiliates,
- 7:02Speaker 2: they got to take it off the air. The other thing,
- 7:04Speaker 2: and they know this is when they take them off
- 7:06Speaker 2: the air and put on a game show or something,
- 7:09Speaker 2: it will get triple the ratings. Literally, remember that time
- 7:13Speaker 2: they suspended him for a week. They put on reruns
- 7:16Speaker 2: of Password and it got tripled the ratings. And it
- 7:20Speaker 2: costs nothing. You don't have to have a band, you
- 7:22Speaker 2: don't have to have a studio audience, you don't have
- 7:24Speaker 2: to have a theater and ushers. You just run reruns
- 7:27Speaker 2: and get triple the ratings. So the mentalist from the
- 7:30Speaker 2: White House cours bondence dinner Oz. It's not Oz, it's O's.
- 7:36Speaker 2: It looks like Oz to me, but it's O's. Oh's pearlman.
- 7:40Speaker 2: They begged them to come on Jimmy Kimmel's show and
- 7:43Speaker 2: he refused. He will not do it. Good for him.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And again, if the guy is such a mentalist, how
- 7:50Speaker 2: come he had no idea what was going to happen
- 7:54Speaker 2: Saturday night. In fact, you see him up on the
- 7:56Speaker 2: dais bothering President Trump, showing him some card trick, some
- 8:00Speaker 2: little trick, and Melaney is pretending to be interested in
- 8:04Speaker 2: the president is rolling his eyes. But this is like
- 8:08Speaker 2: one second before the gunshots. If this guy is such
- 8:11Speaker 2: a mentalist, he doesn't know that in one second there's
- 8:15Speaker 2: going to be four gunshots. I don't know. George Clooney
- 8:19Speaker 2: getting a little flat. George Clooney weighed in on the
- 8:23Speaker 2: Jimmy Gimmel joke and defending it. What a surprise. A
- 8:29Speaker 2: lot of people are making fun of him on Twitter,
- 8:32Speaker 2: saying things like, whenever there's an attempted assassination on the president,
- 8:36Speaker 2: you really need George Clooney to weigh in on it.
- 8:38Speaker 2: But now, as far as the assassin, it's Cole Allen,
- 8:46Speaker 2: not to be confused with Cale Allen, who's the longtime
- 8:49Speaker 2: editor of the New York Post, but Cole Allen. But
- 8:52Speaker 2: as soon as you fire those shots, you immediately get
- 8:54Speaker 2: referred to by all three names. So it's Cole Thomas Allen. E.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Harvey Oswald is in James Earl Ray assassin's three names.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And he was in court yesterday for the first time.
- 9:10Speaker 2: At the hearing, he was quite defiant. He answered the
- 9:14Speaker 2: judges question confidently, very loudly too. It's very loud confident.
- 9:20Speaker 2: They hit him with all sorts of charges. They're gonna
- 9:23Speaker 2: hit him with more charges. They started with transportation of
- 9:26Speaker 2: a firearm across state lines. He took the train from California.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Instead of a five hour flight, he took all like
- 9:33Speaker 2: a five day train.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Right.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Another reason for that is there's no TSA. When you
- 9:37Speaker 2: take a train, they don't check your luggage. If you're
- 9:39Speaker 2: going to smuggle a gun or a bunch of guns,
- 9:42Speaker 2: you gotta take the train. So that's the reason for that.
- 9:47Speaker 2: He's going to get charged with that. He's gonna get
- 9:50Speaker 2: charged with that's a felony right there. Taking the firearms
- 9:53Speaker 2: across state lines, discharging a gun, they'll be all sorts
- 9:56Speaker 2: of charges. They'll charge them with attempted assassination of the president. Now,
- 10:05Speaker 2: the problem is Alan Dershowitz, the Great Attorney, argues that
- 10:11Speaker 2: you can go into court and argue that the crime
- 10:13Speaker 2: you're being accused of would be impossible to commit. And
- 10:17Speaker 2: he thinks that would be what the lawyer would do
- 10:19Speaker 2: in this case. That there was so much security that
- 10:22Speaker 2: you could get through the first layer and you could
- 10:24Speaker 2: shoot somebody in the second layer. A secret serviceman. But
- 10:27Speaker 2: there's too many layers. You could never actually get to
- 10:29Speaker 2: the ballroom. So you can argue the crime of assassination
- 10:34Speaker 2: was impossible, and the Dershowitz points out there have been
- 10:38Speaker 2: cases and in some states, if you can prove it's impossible,
- 10:41Speaker 2: the charge gets dropped. Dershowitz said he even had a
- 10:44Speaker 2: case once where he argued that it was impossible to
- 10:46Speaker 2: do it and got the charge dropped. But no matter what,
- 10:51Speaker 2: he shot the secret service agent with intent to murder him,
- 10:54Speaker 2: so they got him on that. Now, though, always tell you,
- 11:00Speaker 2: you know, you always hear, well, if you're charge of
- 11:02Speaker 2: presidential assassination, you'll never get out of jail. That's not true.
- 11:06Speaker 2: There's a lot of presidential assassins walking around free right now.
- 11:10Speaker 2: John Hinckley is not longly is he walking around free?
- 11:14Speaker 2: He's like a singer with a guitar, appearing in clubs.
- 11:17Speaker 2: The two Gerald Ford assassins are out walking around. Squeaky
- 11:23Speaker 2: From's the other one. The other one had three names,
- 11:27Speaker 2: Sarah Jane Moore. Sarah Jane Moore was the other one.
- 11:29Speaker 2: So there there's three presidential assassins that are out and
- 11:33Speaker 2: about walking walking around. So we'll see his next court
- 11:39Speaker 2: appearance is about bail. That'll be on Thursday. Gets a
- 11:43Speaker 2: bail hearing on Thursday. I can't see anyway on earth
- 11:46Speaker 2: he gets bail. That's hard to even even picture. So
- 11:52Speaker 2: now the thing is, will they tone down the rhetoric. No,
- 11:56Speaker 2: because they can't even acknowledge the problem. Democrats can't even
- 12:00Speaker 2: admit to it. But here's the guy who founded the
- 12:04Speaker 2: Lincoln Project. Remember the guy that founded the awful, stupid,
- 12:08Speaker 2: anti American, creepy, weird Lincoln Project. This is the founder.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Listen to the kind of things he was saying about Trump.
- 12:13Speaker 2: We know that Donald Trump is an existential threat to
- 12:16Speaker 2: our democracy and our nation and we have to stop him. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 2: and then you got I played to the montage yesterday
- 12:24Speaker 2: talking about go punch him in the face. Hakeem Jeffrey said,
- 12:27Speaker 2: we have to go to full all out warfare. Warfare
- 12:31Speaker 2: means shooting, means guns. That's what warfare means. Jeffries will
- 12:36Speaker 2: not admit to that.
- 12:37Speaker 5: We embrace the fact that everybody should take the temperature down.
- 12:40Speaker 5: We're just not going to be lectures by extremists on
- 12:43Speaker 5: the other side of the aisle who are looking directly
- 12:46Speaker 5: at the camera and then.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Lying, yeah, it's funny though, how they're all distorted. And
- 12:52Speaker 2: as you're an extremist, you mag of people. You're an
- 12:56Speaker 2: extremist because you want secure border, you want lower tax,
- 13:01Speaker 2: you want no men in the women's locker room. You're
- 13:05Speaker 2: an extremist. So these Democrats in their own head, they
- 13:09Speaker 2: have no idea that they're the most extreme radicals ever
- 13:12Speaker 2: with their rhetoric. HAQM. Jeffrey is a perfect example.
- 13:16Speaker 5: As it relates to anything that has been said, certainly
- 13:19Speaker 5: as it relates to the comment related to maximum warfare everywhere,
- 13:26Speaker 5: all the time in connection with the redistricting battle that
- 13:30Speaker 5: Republicans launched. I stand by it. You can continue to
- 13:35Speaker 5: criticize me for it. I don't give a damn about
- 13:38Speaker 5: your criticism.
- 13:43Speaker 2: That's why the midterms are important. You realize this guy
- 13:45Speaker 2: could be Speaker of the House. Speaker of the House.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Can you imagine you'll have an impeachment twice a day
- 13:52Speaker 2: to impeachments? Today will be going on with this guy,
- 13:55Speaker 2: so very very important. So I'm Donnie will greet the
- 13:58Speaker 2: King tomorrow? Is yeah, here's mom, Donnie.
- 14:02Speaker 6: What we saw at the Press Correspondence Center is one
- 14:05Speaker 6: part of a very troubling reality across this country, which
- 14:09Speaker 6: is how political violence has become part of our politics.
- 14:13Speaker 6: And it is something that we are taking into consideration
- 14:16Speaker 6: whenever we are planning anything in our city. And I'm
- 14:18Speaker 6: fully confident in our city and in our police department
- 14:21Speaker 6: to keep New Yorker safe over the course of that.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Now, he really didn't say anything, but it's a good
- 14:26Speaker 2: trick if you might want to practice this, if you've
- 14:28Speaker 2: got to go to a job interview or you're trying
- 14:30Speaker 2: to impress somebody. He had nothing to say. Just talk
- 14:33Speaker 2: a little faster like this. And if you can talk
- 14:35Speaker 2: like him and talk very fast, it makes you sound
- 14:37Speaker 2: much smarter than you actually are, because somebody listening to
- 14:39Speaker 2: you say, well, mut's be very smart. How could he
- 14:40Speaker 2: talk that fast and think that fast? And even though
- 14:42Speaker 2: you didn't say anything, you said absolutely nothing of any interest.
- 14:45Speaker 2: You're talking so fast. Try it. It works. Anyway, We've
- 14:49Speaker 2: got a lot to get to today. We'll take some calls. Next.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven to ten is
- 14:56Speaker 2: the number. Eight hundred three two one zero.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone Show.
- 15:03Speaker 2: On w R. Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go
- 15:08Speaker 2: to uh Mara in Nevada. Mara, how you doing?
- 15:12Speaker 7: Mark's so good? I'm talking to you child, Vincent. Mark
- 15:16Speaker 7: Trump is not good at this. He's not a good dictator,
- 15:20Speaker 7: because if he was, the keuillotine would be dusted up
- 15:23Speaker 7: and shopping and heads would be lopped off. Rest less
- 15:26Speaker 7: than right. He is not a good dictator. The first
- 15:30Speaker 7: ones would be Congress, everyone called.
- 15:33Speaker 2: That's a good point. You got to remember, though. I
- 15:35Speaker 2: think if you have cut off the head of Hakim Jeffries,
- 15:38Speaker 2: I don't think it'd affect him that much. There's not
- 15:41Speaker 2: much between the ears up there. Let's go to uh
- 15:43Speaker 2: Rich in Myrtle Beach, Rich. How you doing me?
- 15:47Speaker 4: Thanks?
- 15:47Speaker 3: Mark.
- 15:47Speaker 4: I tried call Disney. I tried calling the WABC to
- 15:51Speaker 4: complain about Kimmel. You can't leave any messages. The boxes
- 15:54Speaker 4: are all full. They must be getting thousands of them.
- 15:56Speaker 4: But you know, if they had any guts to go
- 15:58Speaker 4: ahead and do it and just send the mess.
- 16:00Speaker 2: So maybe I had to break it to you. It's
- 16:02Speaker 2: now twenty twenty six. I don't think he can call
- 16:04Speaker 2: anybody anywhere. You got an email, you can't.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Call now you can call him because they have a
- 16:09Speaker 4: dedicated phone line.
- 16:10Speaker 2: You know, there's nobody. Nobody checks it, nobody listens to it.
- 16:13Speaker 2: You know, here at iHeart, which is we're massive here,
- 16:17Speaker 2: We're like ten floors of this big skyscraper. We don't
- 16:20Speaker 2: even have a receptionist. You don't need it anywhere. Nobody
- 16:24Speaker 2: calls here anymore. Everything that, everything's email.
- 16:29Speaker 4: But I hope he's gone here putty soon and I
- 16:30Speaker 4: would actually send a message to the rest of him.
- 16:34Speaker 4: But I don't think Disney or ABC has the backbone
- 16:36Speaker 4: to do it. I mean, they're going to wait him out.
- 16:38Speaker 4: He's got a couple of months left and that'll be it.
- 16:40Speaker 4: But you know what, they really should step up and
- 16:42Speaker 4: grow a pig.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. Well, see, there's a new chairman of Disney,
- 16:46Speaker 2: taken over from Bob Biger. We'll see what he does.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing,
- 16:52Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike.
- 16:54Speaker 8: I've always said I'd be okay with these jokes if
- 16:57Speaker 8: the doors swang both ways. You know, I mean, years
- 17:00Speaker 8: of Obama, four years of Biden and all these genius
- 17:03Speaker 8: comedians couldn't find one single thing to joke about with
- 17:06Speaker 8: those two guys for just as for instance, you know,
- 17:10Speaker 8: and it speaks to your point about toning down the rhetoric.
- 17:13Speaker 8: You're the only one who are going to turn down
- 17:15Speaker 8: the rhetoric, or you can be the conservative sort of rite.
- 17:17Speaker 8: The Republicans the Democrats are spot to glib. They know
- 17:21Speaker 8: how to play that. There's much more savvy. They know
- 17:24Speaker 8: how to use the language. You watch a Keem Jeffries.
- 17:28Speaker 8: You know he's not saying anything, but boy, he's delivering
- 17:31Speaker 8: it like you know, like I'll lead punching you know,
- 17:33Speaker 8: a punching bag.
- 17:35Speaker 2: He's a nasty looking guy. Well, a good point, Mike,
- 17:37Speaker 2: excellent point that you know. Kimmel's first comment about what
- 17:41Speaker 2: he said was, well, it's just a it's an old
- 17:43Speaker 2: roast joke. Yeah, they did do jokes like that at
- 17:46Speaker 2: roast about you look like an future widow making fun
- 17:50Speaker 2: of the guys. It's it's an old roaster. But the
- 17:51Speaker 2: thing about the roast, and it was the way you
- 17:54Speaker 2: always did every roast. You'd go down the line and
- 17:56Speaker 2: do a jokes about everybody. You didn't just pick one
- 17:58Speaker 2: guy and just do him. And you got a good
- 18:01Speaker 2: point there, Mike. It'd be different if you were attacking
- 18:03Speaker 2: both sides. For instance, nobody promoted Eric Swalwell more than
- 18:08Speaker 2: Jimmy Kimmel on his show, and the same thing with
- 18:12Speaker 2: the Stephen Colbert and Jimmy fallon Well. Now, once the
- 18:16Speaker 2: Swellwell scandal breaks, these two since that happened a couple
- 18:20Speaker 2: weeks so haven't said a word, haven't made a single
- 18:23Speaker 2: joke about him. You're right, it's just one sided. It's ridiculous.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Let's go to Pat in Scarsdale, Pat, how you doing? Hey?
- 18:29Speaker 9: Mark, thanks for taking my call. Actually, two thoughts come
- 18:32Speaker 9: to my mind. First, when I listened to Mike Goodman.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Michael Goodman, I've never heard him called Mike Goodman Michael.
- 18:40Speaker 9: It doesn't seem to have that spunk in his voice.
- 18:42Speaker 9: Is his health a little under the weather?
- 18:45Speaker 2: I had a couple of health problems, but he's much
- 18:47Speaker 2: much better in recovering. Stop picking an old guy. He's
- 18:50Speaker 2: uh yeah, he's still a little raspy, little throat thing
- 18:52Speaker 2: going on, but it's much better. Sounds much better. Now.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Let's go to Jim in Long Island. Jim, how you doing?
- 19:00Speaker 4: I Mark? I want to speak about Maya mon Dommy.
- 19:04Speaker 4: You just played a clip about him bringing down the temperature.
- 19:08Speaker 4: He singled out a rich man, but a target on
- 19:12Speaker 4: his back, gave his name, his location, where he is,
- 19:16Speaker 4: and then some crazy street animal nineteen.
- 19:19Speaker 2: What you're saying, he's a hypocrite. No, I can't picture
- 19:22Speaker 2: that the mom, Donnie, I know, No, never a hypocrite.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Good point. Yeah, it's the hypocrisy democrats are famous for.
- 19:33Speaker 2: He does things that are so outrageous, but you have
- 19:36Speaker 2: the most biased fake news protecting him. He actually singled out,
- 19:41Speaker 2: targeted an individual happened to be a wealthy guy. Ken
- 19:44Speaker 2: Griffin filmed a video outside of his apartment, pointing out
- 19:48Speaker 2: his apartment in his address, saying, hey, right there, this
- 19:50Speaker 2: is where he lives. You imagine a mayor doing that
- 19:53Speaker 2: to a private citizen. Imagine somebody him. Let's as they
- 19:58Speaker 2: went to his father and mother and father's ho and
- 20:00Speaker 2: did the video and pointed, here's where they live, here's
- 20:03Speaker 2: their address. You can't do that to people. Absolutely disgusting. Now,
- 20:07Speaker 2: Ken Griffin very very wealthy, guy's worth about fifty billion,
- 20:12Speaker 2: major player in New York. He was about to build
- 20:15Speaker 2: a six billion dollars skyscraper Park Avenue in fifty second.
- 20:21Speaker 2: It would create six thousand construction jobs. Over the next
- 20:24Speaker 2: five years. It would create fifteen thousand permanent jobs. Now
- 20:28Speaker 2: he's saying, you know what, I might not build this.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I might have to put move it out of New York.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I can't deal with this, Mayor. That's the problem. When
- 20:36Speaker 2: you're mayor and a guy's going to do a project
- 20:38Speaker 2: like that, you're supposed to call them and you're supposed
- 20:41Speaker 2: to say, I'd love to meet with you. Let me
- 20:43Speaker 2: see how I can help you. We're so grateful you're
- 20:46Speaker 2: going to create these jobs, put this building here, help
- 20:49Speaker 2: our economy. What can we do to help? That's what
- 20:51Speaker 2: you're supposed to do. Let's go to Chris in West Hampton. Chris,
- 20:54Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 20:56Speaker 4: Good morning? What I'm not doing?
- 20:57Speaker 2: A panic?
- 20:58Speaker 4: And I have a question. Have you heard anything about
- 21:00Speaker 4: the merger between iHeart and Serious?
- 21:03Speaker 2: Of course I work here.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Well, okay, so it's true.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Well I mean, well, nothing's true. Well, because nothing's true yet.
- 21:10Speaker 2: There a couple of people have tried to bring the
- 21:13Speaker 2: Serious to merge with iHeart and that I guess they're
- 21:18Speaker 2: talking about it. It possible, talks about merging iHeart and Serious.
- 21:23Speaker 2: At this point, it's just talk. iHeart is the biggest
- 21:27Speaker 2: audio company in the world.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Uh right, that's what I mean.
- 21:32Speaker 2: They're more serious for they really don't. But I think
- 21:36Speaker 2: the idea is it just you can scale even you know,
- 21:40Speaker 2: that's a big thing in business. Now, try to see
- 21:42Speaker 2: how much you can scale up, so you could probably
- 21:44Speaker 2: scale the company up even more. See one of the
- 21:46Speaker 2: problems you have when you're the biggest audio company in
- 21:48Speaker 2: the world, biggest podcast, biggest, When you're number one, it
- 21:51Speaker 2: gets really tough to grow it anymore. So that's when
- 21:54Speaker 2: you do mergers. You see that all the time with
- 21:57Speaker 2: a business it's absolutely number one, totally dominant. But when
- 22:00Speaker 2: you're the business for the shareholders, you're supposed to grow
- 22:03Speaker 2: it every year, so it gets tough. The bigger you are,
- 22:06Speaker 2: the tougher it is to grow the thing. So it
- 22:08Speaker 2: just talks at this point. We'll keep you posted if
- 22:11Speaker 2: we know anything. Bob Pittman, great chairman, brilliant guy of iHeart.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yes to put out a whole long memo about don't
- 22:20Speaker 2: believe all the press reports, but it's just in the
- 22:22Speaker 2: talking stages. But this is in his memo. This is
- 22:27Speaker 2: pretty interesting. iHeart is the most listened to audio provider
- 22:32Speaker 2: in every single age Group in the US, the number
- 22:36Speaker 2: one broadcast radio company in America. Iheart's the number one
- 22:39Speaker 2: podcast company in America, the number one digital radio service,
- 22:44Speaker 2: and the iHeart app is the most listen to, number
- 22:47Speaker 2: one app in the world. Iheart's number one in live
- 22:51Speaker 2: music events, has the number one biggest social footprint of
- 22:57Speaker 2: any audio company. You can go on and on. The
- 23:00Speaker 2: other interesting thing and people might not realize this. More
- 23:04Speaker 2: people listen to the radio now than ten years ago,
- 23:08Speaker 2: and more people listen to the radio now more than
- 23:11Speaker 2: twenty years ago. Radio listening has actually grown. Hey, when
- 23:15Speaker 2: we come back, we'll talk to Ed Rollins, the Dean himself.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Now he was there with Reagan in the White House
- 23:21Speaker 2: when that assassination attempt happened, and we'll talk to him
- 23:25Speaker 2: about what they went through there in the mid terms,
- 23:27Speaker 2: and a whole lot more coming up on seven to
- 23:30Speaker 2: ten wor here's.
- 23:32Speaker 1: More marks alone on seven ten WR.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Well, let's talk to the Dean himself, Ed Rollins. Nobody
- 23:40Speaker 2: has been in more White Houses, run more campaigns, is
- 23:43Speaker 2: running some of the most successful campaigns ever. And it's
- 23:46Speaker 2: great to have him back with us. Ed Rollins, how
- 23:48Speaker 2: you doing doing well?
- 23:50Speaker 4: Thank you morning, thank goodness, nothing happened to the president
- 23:53Speaker 4: or in the White House staff and senior cabinet disaster. Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Now you were there with Ronald Reagan in his White House.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Do you remember what a bad assassination attempt? How did
- 24:04Speaker 2: that change things?
- 24:06Speaker 4: Well, it was thirty days in and it was very dramatic,
- 24:09Speaker 4: h and you know, the president was wounded a lot
- 24:13Speaker 4: worse than the public knew. You know, he was in
- 24:15Speaker 4: a rush to get back to the White House. But
- 24:19Speaker 4: you remember several weeks later he got up and he
- 24:21Speaker 4: addressed the Congress and asked for his legislative program and
- 24:26Speaker 4: done it all passed, and that certainly had an impact
- 24:28Speaker 4: on it. So, but you know, there's there's too much
- 24:32Speaker 4: hostility out there, and obviously that these big events attract
- 24:37Speaker 4: some bad people. Yeah, but thank thank goodness owing.
- 24:40Speaker 2: But knowing that hurt. Yeah, you know, every time we
- 24:44Speaker 2: see an assassination attempt, we realize how bad the security was.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Obviously with Kennedy and then the idea of Reagan they
- 24:49Speaker 2: would just walk him outside in front of all those people.
- 24:53Speaker 4: Well, it's it's it's it's a learning process. You know,
- 24:56Speaker 4: you have to be in a mindset secreturs does this
- 24:59Speaker 4: go to job as you can do. I think obviously
- 25:02Speaker 4: the outdoor thing, the Butler event, there were lots of mistakes,
- 25:05Speaker 4: but this one the other night, they function well. The event,
- 25:08Speaker 4: it's itself being held in the hotel. It has been
- 25:11Speaker 4: for many, many years. This is zoo. You've done them.
- 25:14Speaker 4: There's twenty five hundred people. It's uh, you know, there's
- 25:17Speaker 4: a lot of wondering around a lot of a lot.
- 25:19Speaker 4: And I think we were very lucky that that the
- 25:22Speaker 4: attempt was done by an amateur who obviously didn't succeed.
- 25:25Speaker 4: But the fact that people out there want to take
- 25:28Speaker 4: shots that presidents as are bad, that scenes gone on
- 25:31Speaker 4: as presidence but you know history.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess you're right. We just don't realize things
- 25:36Speaker 2: like we've all been to this White House correspondence dinner
- 25:38Speaker 2: a million time. It has never occurred to anybody. How
- 25:41Speaker 2: can you have it in a hotel that's open with
- 25:43Speaker 2: a thousand strangers standing right upstairs. It's going to have
- 25:46Speaker 2: to move that right somewhere else from now on.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Well, I think they do, and I you know, I
- 25:51Speaker 4: don't think it's the selling point for the the new
- 25:56Speaker 4: convention center that the residants in the White House with
- 25:59Speaker 4: a You know, I think the key thing here is
- 26:04Speaker 4: the closest thing we're both focused on this election. When
- 26:06Speaker 4: he gets through this is with the king and what
- 26:09Speaker 4: have you. He's got to get focused on the election.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Right now. We're not in good shape in the House
- 26:14Speaker 4: and certainly they sent us down play and he's got
- 26:17Speaker 4: to focus it the best the Dantagy has he's raised
- 26:21Speaker 4: a ton of money and super packs and what have you.
- 26:24Speaker 4: We won't be outspent, and we certainly have twenty five
- 26:28Speaker 4: or thirty seats we have to defend. But that's's the key.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Then they've got the same number. We just got to
- 26:35Speaker 4: get in there and make sure we win these faces.
- 26:37Speaker 2: So when Democrats yell no, kings, he's a dictator, he's
- 26:40Speaker 2: a Nazi, he's a criminal, he's a Does that really
- 26:42Speaker 2: work on independent photos? Does that really persuade him?
- 26:46Speaker 4: No, No, it doesn't. You know, at the end of
- 26:48Speaker 4: the day, it energizes their base and they've had gigantic turnoffs,
- 26:52Speaker 4: which often happens in the midterms. The critical thing here
- 26:56Speaker 4: is the message has to be that we hear you,
- 26:59Speaker 4: we know what's going on in the country. We need
- 27:01Speaker 4: to get these oil prices down. We need to get
- 27:03Speaker 4: overall prices down, and you know, hanging with us, we'll
- 27:07Speaker 4: get it done. But you can't be fighting among the Congress.
- 27:10Speaker 4: You can't be having you know, they can't be going
- 27:12Speaker 4: home every other week for a period of time. They
- 27:15Speaker 4: kind of got to be there and work and get
- 27:17Speaker 4: the things done the president wants. And the president needs
- 27:19Speaker 4: to sit down with the leadership and say, all right,
- 27:21Speaker 4: what are the four or five things we got to
- 27:22Speaker 4: get done by November. What we're going to run on
- 27:25Speaker 4: and get get a consistent message to the consistent strategy,
- 27:28Speaker 4: and go out and spend millions dollars they have on
- 27:32Speaker 4: those things and target those traces carefully. And there's going
- 27:36Speaker 4: to be some members who can't redeemed. They're going to
- 27:38Speaker 4: lose and you've got to write them off. And those
- 27:41Speaker 4: that are marginals, you've got to make sure they win.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Now, Ed Rollins, you worked around the greatest people
- 27:46Speaker 2: in Congress. They used to be Statesman Tip O'Neil and
- 27:49Speaker 2: Bob Dole and these these great figures. Now you have
- 27:53Speaker 2: to see these low iq Hakeem Jeffreys types. What happened?
- 27:58Speaker 4: What changed? I'll play that store. I've been around the
- 28:02Speaker 4: game for fifty years and I ran a congressional committee.
- 28:04Speaker 4: People who say to me, why don't you run for Congress?
- 28:06Speaker 4: I said, I wouldn't run for Congress, and you'd pay
- 28:07Speaker 4: me two million dollars a year committed and to go
- 28:09Speaker 4: to work. It's a tough, hard job. And I think
- 28:13Speaker 4: to a certain extent, a lot of the giants in
- 28:15Speaker 4: the path to decide that's not why they want to
- 28:18Speaker 4: spend the year of their time. Who who would want
- 28:20Speaker 4: to basically be a congressman today and go up there
- 28:22Speaker 4: and fight every day and and you know, you don't
- 28:25Speaker 4: have the power that you once had, you don't have
- 28:27Speaker 4: the excitement, You're not very important back in the district.
- 28:31Speaker 4: So I think the key thing here is you got
- 28:33Speaker 4: to recruit good candidates. And that's getting pretty close to
- 28:36Speaker 4: the finish line here, and you've got to basically make
- 28:38Speaker 4: sure that the standings or something and the things you
- 28:41Speaker 4: got to stand for is what the people are most
- 28:42Speaker 4: concerned about. That's the high price of oil and foods
- 28:46Speaker 4: and what have those those going to be issues? And
- 28:48Speaker 4: who can do it better? And if I was running
- 28:50Speaker 4: his campaigns, because I'm not, I get every single one
- 28:53Speaker 4: of these Democrat potential chairmen or chairman, and I would
- 28:56Speaker 4: run against them. I'd run against the leadership of the Democrats.
- 28:58Speaker 4: I'd say, you want these guys to basically guide you
- 29:01Speaker 4: one of these tough times, or do you want the
- 29:03Speaker 4: team that can step up?
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah? Now, Ed Rollins, let me ask you, this is
- 29:07Speaker 2: a good question. You worked with the greats, the Reagans,
- 29:09Speaker 2: and you know those types, and they were very formal politicians,
- 29:14Speaker 2: and they would speak formally, and it would never you
- 29:17Speaker 2: would never think that a president would just call somebody
- 29:20Speaker 2: names or just talk like he's in a locker room
- 29:22Speaker 2: or but it's a very real way to talk. It's
- 29:27Speaker 2: pretty effective. But is this what's caused all the trouble
- 29:30Speaker 2: with the news fake news going crazy that he's so born?
- 29:33Speaker 4: I think so? Yeah. I mean to me, I would
- 29:36Speaker 4: ignore the news media. They're going to do what they're
- 29:39Speaker 4: going to do and you're not going to change them
- 29:40Speaker 4: any And at the end of the day, if you're
- 29:43Speaker 4: going to call somebody out to do it in private,
- 29:46Speaker 4: you know presidents will send his team up, which I
- 29:48Speaker 4: was a political character, I'd you up and I'd say
- 29:51Speaker 4: to someone, you know, you want to bad amount the president,
- 29:53Speaker 4: I'm going to come after you. I'm going to basically
- 29:54Speaker 4: not get any fundraisers. We're going to basically look at
- 29:57Speaker 4: all the congressional appropriations you have, and if you're not
- 30:00Speaker 4: going to be part of the team, you're not gonna
- 30:01Speaker 4: get any of the resources.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Yeah. But the most outrageous, the most outrageous, Yeah, the
- 30:08Speaker 2: most outrageous things. President Trump has said the worst things
- 30:11Speaker 2: you ever said in public. You will testify that every
- 30:14Speaker 2: other president said the same exact stuff, only they would
- 30:17Speaker 2: do it in private. Once you got.
- 30:19Speaker 4: They're doing in private, they do it in private. And
- 30:21Speaker 4: I think that's the key thing. He and you know,
- 30:24Speaker 4: he doesn't sleep well whatever, He's up at two o'clock
- 30:28Speaker 4: in the morning writing thinking. You know, I'm a little
- 30:32Speaker 4: bit older than him, and his stamina is amazing to me.
- 30:38Speaker 4: But the punch a lot of times there's times he stroked,
- 30:43Speaker 4: you know, punch and you take care of your own
- 30:45Speaker 4: and you know, you got you got a bunch of
- 30:48Speaker 4: people speaking for themselves. And I think the I think
- 30:50Speaker 4: the Congress itself, the leadership of the Congress itself is
- 30:53Speaker 4: basically by going home, by not doing a job, has
- 30:57Speaker 4: given Democrats more of openings of the have.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, so Ed Rollins. There's a lot of young
- 31:03Speaker 2: Democrats they've been indoctrinated in these universities that become communists, socialists.
- 31:08Speaker 2: There's so many of them. They've gone so far to
- 31:10Speaker 2: the left. It's forcing Chuck Schumer Nancy Pelosi to all
- 31:14Speaker 2: act like they're that kooky left wing. How that's never
- 31:16Speaker 2: going to change, is it? How are you going to
- 31:18Speaker 2: get back to No, it's not.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Going to change. You know, it will become more of
- 31:23Speaker 4: a personality. You're driven than we are. Philosophy I and everything.
- 31:28Speaker 4: The Democrats have to have something. What they have right
- 31:31Speaker 4: now is they have a president and his partner is
- 31:33Speaker 4: basically not addressing the issues the sour as the country's concerned.
- 31:37Speaker 4: You look at the polls, and you've got to address
- 31:39Speaker 4: those issues to say, here's what we're going to do.
- 31:41Speaker 4: We're going to basically the next ninety days, one hundred
- 31:43Speaker 4: and twenty days, we're going to focus on you. Everything's
- 31:46Speaker 4: going to be doo you. We're going to get these
- 31:48Speaker 4: gas prices there, I think these food prices down. We'll
- 31:50Speaker 4: go on help farmers and everybody saying the same script
- 31:54Speaker 4: as opposed to everybody popping off, and you know, it's
- 31:57Speaker 4: a combination of the new media's, combination of all of
- 32:00Speaker 4: the cable television. You know, you have people on your
- 32:03Speaker 4: show all the time that basically say different things, and
- 32:05Speaker 4: you need to have a singular message here, and the
- 32:08Speaker 4: messages we can get it fixed, they can't.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Yeah, So if the war in Iran is settled in
- 32:14Speaker 2: a month or two or three and gas prices are
- 32:16Speaker 2: way down, everything's doing to what chance do the Republicans
- 32:21Speaker 2: have in the midterms.
- 32:23Speaker 4: I'd say the House is going to be it can
- 32:26Speaker 4: be close. The Senate should be our still, even with
- 32:31Speaker 4: all of this, all of those three or fourth races
- 32:34Speaker 4: that are ours that shouldn't be in play, but they are.
- 32:36Speaker 4: But the key thing here is the president basically has
- 32:38Speaker 4: to bite his tongue a little bit, and if he doesn't,
- 32:41Speaker 4: if he loses the House and the Senate, he's gonna
- 32:43Speaker 4: have a lot pad the last two years. So he
- 32:45Speaker 4: just has to be very disciplined, and the White House
- 32:48Speaker 4: has to be disciplined, the cabin has to be disciplined,
- 32:50Speaker 4: and nobody should be saying anything that's out on the script.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I know that's the tradition, but it's
- 32:58Speaker 2: twenty twenty six. Can we get rid of the script? Said?
- 33:00Speaker 2: Everybody just say what they really think.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I think I think that's part of the part of
- 33:08Speaker 4: the problem. He does do any good to spend every
- 33:11Speaker 4: million dollars on advertising if everybody has a different message.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. All right, well, Ed Rollins, you're the expert,
- 33:18Speaker 2: the dean himself, Ed Rollins, great stuff, Thanks for being
- 33:21Speaker 2: with us. We'll do it again soon, all right. Take care.
- 33:28Speaker 2: I know what he means. You got to you gotta
- 33:29Speaker 2: you know, you can't say these outrageous things. You can't
- 33:32Speaker 2: talk like that in the public. But it all started
- 33:36Speaker 2: ten years ago, eleven years ago when Donald Trump came
- 33:39Speaker 2: down that escalator, and thank god he did all that,
- 33:42Speaker 2: because where would we have been without Donald Trump? What
- 33:45Speaker 2: would we been talking about for the last eleven years?
- 33:48Speaker 2: Do you realize what this guy does and has done
- 33:50Speaker 2: for our ratings, for everything? Had he just been a
- 33:55Speaker 2: regular politician when he's accused of the worst stuff in
- 33:59Speaker 2: the world, if he was like and said, where, what
- 34:04Speaker 2: will we talk about all day? Do you know what
- 34:07Speaker 2: this guy has done for us? It's unbelievable. Anyway, we
- 34:12Speaker 2: got a lot to get to, a lot coming up. Hey, Bill,
- 34:15Speaker 2: O'Reilly will be with us the next hour. You know,
- 34:16Speaker 2: he was in the ballroom and he was in the
- 34:19Speaker 2: back of the room. He just happened to be in
- 34:21Speaker 2: the towards the back when the gunshots went off. He
- 34:23Speaker 2: was like right there, heard them immediately. So he'll tell
- 34:26Speaker 2: us all about it coming up in the next hour. Hey,
- 34:29Speaker 2: don't forget Buck Sexton and Klay Travis or be here
- 34:31Speaker 2: at noon today with an excellent show. Sean Hannity, who
- 34:37Speaker 2: was listen to today, Hell, I'll probably tell the story again.
- 34:41Speaker 2: When the gunshots were fired, the President was rushed out
- 34:43Speaker 2: of the room to a holding room, and while he
- 34:46Speaker 2: was in that holding room, Sean Hannity got him on
- 34:49Speaker 2: the phone, and the President didn't hang up. He said here,
- 34:53Speaker 2: he just held the phone there while he argued with
- 34:55Speaker 2: the Secret Service guys about staying and going. He's a
- 34:58Speaker 2: fascinating story. He'll I'll be here at the most listened
- 35:01Speaker 2: to radio show in America at three o'clock, Jesse Kelly,
- 35:04Speaker 2: at six, Jimmy Fayla, we'll be here at nine. He
- 35:09Speaker 2: was in the ballroom covering the whole thing, So you'll
- 35:11Speaker 2: hear him talk more about that tonight at nine right
- 35:14Speaker 2: here on seven to ten WR.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Here's more Mark Simone on seven to ten wor WHOA.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Sometimes I look in the control room. We got a
- 35:26Speaker 2: lot of people work in the control room. I see
- 35:27Speaker 2: them running frantically. Something's going on. I say, oh, what
- 35:31Speaker 2: kind of emergency is this? And then I realized when
- 35:34Speaker 2: they all come back with these plates, there's another buffet
- 35:37Speaker 2: that just opened the hall way. There's food all over
- 35:40Speaker 2: the place here, buffet after buffet after buffet. But I
- 35:45Speaker 2: think the winner today is Breakfast Club Charle Magne Studio
- 35:49Speaker 2: right over there. They really do have breakfast. It's from
- 35:51Speaker 2: Golden Corral, which is very good. Golden Corral is a
- 35:55Speaker 2: place where they just do huge buffets. And there's one
- 35:59Speaker 2: right down hall there. There's one down in Q one
- 36:02Speaker 2: O four, there's one in the middle, there's one downstairs,
- 36:06Speaker 2: there's one upstairs. This is just a it's like a
- 36:09Speaker 2: big cruise ship here. There's a buffet. Every time you
- 36:13Speaker 2: turn around. Hey, we got a lot to get to
- 36:15Speaker 2: in the next hour, so that don't go away another
- 36:17Speaker 2: hour to go here on seven ten W.
- 36:21Speaker 1: His job make it all make sense. He's Marks Amone
- 36:25Speaker 1: on seventenor.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Having a big ceremony. As we speak right now at
- 36:33Speaker 2: the White House, President Trump is speaking. King Charles is there,
- 36:37Speaker 2: the King, and there's quite an audience on the lawn
- 36:41Speaker 2: at the White House. There many dignitaries. You'll see all
- 36:45Speaker 2: the top Democrats. Again, what happened to the no king stuff?
- 36:50Speaker 2: They're all celebrating the King. He's going to address Congress today.
- 36:54Speaker 2: All the Democrats will be there. There's a big state
- 36:56Speaker 2: dinner tonight. All the Democrats will be there. What happened
- 37:00Speaker 2: to your no king stuff? Here's a real, actual king,
- 37:03Speaker 2: and you're all over them, slabbing, all over them, taking
- 37:06Speaker 2: pictures with him. So you just can't try to figure
- 37:11Speaker 2: it out. It's all it's all total hypocrisy.
- 37:15Speaker 4: You know.
- 37:15Speaker 2: It almost made the mistake of saying, I hate that
- 37:17Speaker 2: stupid phrase. I almost said, you can't make this stuff up.
- 37:21Speaker 2: That's the dumbest phrase in the world. There are people
- 37:23Speaker 2: who do make that stuff up for a living. All
- 37:26Speaker 2: the great writers, screenwriters, they all go crazy whenever you're
- 37:31Speaker 2: to use that expression, Yeah you can't make this stuff up,
- 37:34Speaker 2: Yeah you can. That's what they do for a living.
- 37:35Speaker 2: They make up stuff even more outrageous than that. So
- 37:39Speaker 2: King Charles will come to New York tomorrow, Mom Donnie
- 37:43Speaker 2: will show him around. Also, you're going to have the
- 37:47Speaker 2: other controversy with mom Donnie. You got all this FIFA
- 37:49Speaker 2: stuff coming, which is FIFA is all the soccer stuff
- 37:54Speaker 2: in the World Cup and all that. It'll be here
- 37:57Speaker 2: in New York, it'll be in New Jersey, It'll be
- 37:59Speaker 2: all over the place. It's gonna tie up everything. Hang on, sorry,
- 38:09Speaker 2: it's all those buffets choking to death on something. So
- 38:13Speaker 2: it's gonna just be a snarled up mess. Donnie addressing that.
- 38:16Speaker 6: These events were not initially set to be free, but
- 38:20Speaker 6: the world's game should belong to the world, and so
- 38:22Speaker 6: we've made the decision together for fans to be able
- 38:25Speaker 6: to watch that together without having to spend a dollar.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I don't know what doll he's talking about.
- 38:30Speaker 2: He doesn't either. It's gonna cost a fortune for everything.
- 38:32Speaker 2: The tickets are outrageous, even to take the train. Everything's
- 38:37Speaker 2: gonna cost a fortune. It's going to be totally disruptive.
- 38:40Speaker 2: I guess it's that's good. It brings a lot of
- 38:42Speaker 2: attention to New York. You know, whenever you see the
- 38:45Speaker 2: Grand Prix, the Formula one Grand Prix Miami, Monte Carlo,
- 38:50Speaker 2: Los Figs. You know, they got to close up the
- 38:51Speaker 2: whole downtown for a week. It's an absolute nightmare. But
- 38:56Speaker 2: but it looks good. It's like a advertisement all over
- 38:59Speaker 2: the world for the city. So we should be proud.
- 39:02Speaker 2: The World Cup is coming.
- 39:03Speaker 6: We will be hosting five free official fan events, one
- 39:07Speaker 6: in each borough, featuring live viewings, local food offerings, and
- 39:11Speaker 6: so much more.
- 39:14Speaker 2: It's funny he gets excited about this, the World Cup.
- 39:17Speaker 2: He's all excited the World Cup. It's coming. It's going
- 39:20Speaker 2: to be great for New York. Meantime, if you're a
- 39:22Speaker 2: billionaire like Ken Griffin and you're about to pump six
- 39:25Speaker 2: billion into the economy to build an enormous skyscraper, he
- 39:28Speaker 2: hates you. He's mad at you. You know, this Ken
- 39:31Speaker 2: Griffin building he's going to put on fifty second in
- 39:34Speaker 2: Park would employ fifteen thousand people and to build it
- 39:39Speaker 2: will employ six thousand construction workers for about five years.
- 39:43Speaker 2: It's going to take that long to build it. So
- 39:46Speaker 2: he's mad at that guy. But the World Cup will
- 39:49Speaker 2: be here for a day and a half, two minutes,
- 39:51Speaker 2: and he's all excited about that. Go try to figure
- 39:54Speaker 2: that out. So you know, for those of you that
- 39:58Speaker 2: the think New York is it's over, that's it. It's
- 40:03Speaker 2: these big real estate guys, these big billionaires. They're very
- 40:07Speaker 2: smart when it comes to this stuff. They can see
- 40:09Speaker 2: into the future, and they're building or about to build
- 40:14Speaker 2: massive skyscrapers all over New York. This's Ken Griffin building
- 40:17Speaker 2: would be it fifty second and Park. Remember the old
- 40:22Speaker 2: Brooks Brothers store on Madison Avenue, the original flagship Brooks
- 40:27Speaker 2: Brothers has been closed for a couple of years. It's
- 40:28Speaker 2: a coffee shop. Well, one of the big real estate companies,
- 40:32Speaker 2: one of the great builders in New York. They're going
- 40:33Speaker 2: to tear all that down that and build a massive building.
- 40:37Speaker 2: They're a beautiful new building. And then the Roosevelt Hotel,
- 40:43Speaker 2: which was the Migrant that's probably gonna come down. I
- 40:45Speaker 2: think it's JP Morgan Chase looking at building another skyscraper there.
- 40:50Speaker 2: If you go to fifty eighth and Madison, you'll see
- 40:54Speaker 2: all the buildings have been torn down. There's a big
- 40:56Speaker 2: hole in the ground. Well, there's a eighty five story
- 41:00Speaker 2: skyscraper about to go up there on fifty seventh between
- 41:04Speaker 2: fifth and sixth on both sides of the street. There's
- 41:08Speaker 2: like seventy five story skyscrapers going up on both sides.
- 41:11Speaker 2: I mean I can rattle off about twenty of these
- 41:13Speaker 2: skyscrapers going up, and they're all multi billion dollar projects,
- 41:19Speaker 2: billions for each building. And these real estate guys are
- 41:22Speaker 2: spending it because they know New York is going to
- 41:24Speaker 2: have a big future. They're not moving these buildings somewhere else. Now.
- 41:29Speaker 2: The only one that's questionable, and this I don't know about.
- 41:35Speaker 2: You know, there's a lot of skyscraper there's a bunch
- 41:37Speaker 2: of skyscrapers in Columbus Circle, and then after that it's
- 41:41Speaker 2: the Upper West Side where there's no skyscrapers, except now
- 41:45Speaker 2: there's one. It's about sixty sixth then Broadway. It's like
- 41:49Speaker 2: a fifty five sixty story skyscraper. It just kind of
- 41:53Speaker 2: stands out. You've never seen a skyscraper on the old
- 41:56Speaker 2: Upper West Side. Well, now there's another one. I think
- 42:00Speaker 2: it hasn't been fully approved yet, but it's where the
- 42:03Speaker 2: old ABC TV was on sixty seventh and Columbus. The
- 42:09Speaker 2: ABC it was actually a campus. It was like three
- 42:11Speaker 2: or four buildings. That's where Live with Regis was every morning.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Channel seven News all that ABC stuff moved down to
- 42:19Speaker 2: Tribeca because somebody bought all those buildings. They're tearing them down.
- 42:24Speaker 2: They want to build an eighty five story skyscraper, but
- 42:28Speaker 2: that's on the Upper West Side. In the middle of
- 42:30Speaker 2: all those regular apartments, you'll see these two enormous skyscrapers.
- 42:33Speaker 2: It's kind of jarring. The same thing happened in Queens
- 42:37Speaker 2: and Brooklyn. You know, remember you used to look over
- 42:39Speaker 2: at Queens from Manhattan and there was one little skyscraper,
- 42:43Speaker 2: one little city Bank building. Now you look over there,
- 42:46Speaker 2: it's a whole skyline. On both sides of the East River,
- 42:50Speaker 2: there's a skyline. So you're going to see more and
- 42:53Speaker 2: more of that. There's going to be these skyscrapers everywhere.
- 42:56Speaker 2: But if he asked these big real estate guys, the
- 43:01Speaker 2: heads of these big real estatecings. So once you're worried
- 43:03Speaker 2: about Mom Donnie Is, I'll tell you he's just a
- 43:06Speaker 2: blip in time. He'll be gone before you know it,
- 43:08Speaker 2: because these projects are, you know, eight year, ten year projects. Now,
- 43:13Speaker 2: Mam Donnie wants to do a ticker tape parade for
- 43:17Speaker 2: the Artemis two crew, the astronauts. Have you heard anybody
- 43:22Speaker 2: talk about him in the last week. Boy, they got
- 43:24Speaker 2: forgotten about Fast the Artemis two astronauts. You know, it
- 43:29Speaker 2: used to be if you were an astronaut in the
- 43:32Speaker 2: good old days of Gemini Apollo, when you came down
- 43:34Speaker 2: from the Moon, you were on the Tonight Show, you
- 43:37Speaker 2: were on Meet the Press, you were on everything, you
- 43:39Speaker 2: were on the Today Show, you were all over the place.
- 43:42Speaker 2: But we forgot all about these guys. Do you know
- 43:44Speaker 2: anybody could name their names? I don't think so. So
- 43:48Speaker 2: they want to do this ticker tape parade here in
- 43:50Speaker 2: New York. You wouldn't think Mam Donnie'd be a big
- 43:54Speaker 2: parade guy. You wouldn't think he'd be a big Space
- 43:58Speaker 2: program guy. But he wants to do it. He wants
- 44:00Speaker 2: NASA to pay for it. That's the problem. Ticker tape
- 44:04Speaker 2: parades cost a lot of money, not just the cleanup sanitation,
- 44:08Speaker 2: but you got to have a lot of cops. That's
- 44:10Speaker 2: a lot of overtime. So he wants NASA to pay
- 44:14Speaker 2: for Good luck with that. Hey, Katie Couric seems like
- 44:19Speaker 2: a nice, you know, perky, nice, cute Katie Kirk. She
- 44:23Speaker 2: definitely has a weasel side to her. She turned on
- 44:28Speaker 2: Matt Lower. She never did this before. There's a new
- 44:31Speaker 2: book that's come out from one of the alleged rape victims.
- 44:36Speaker 2: She's written a long, detailed book. I can't see the
- 44:45Speaker 2: title here, but it's her memoir and she tells the stories.
- 44:48Speaker 2: She was on the road with Matt Lower. She was
- 44:52Speaker 2: like an assistant a producer. I guess she was a producer,
- 44:56Speaker 2: and they're traveling. They're staying in the hotel at the
- 44:58Speaker 2: Olympics and somehow she ends up in Matt Lower's room
- 45:02Speaker 2: and she says she was raped by him. Then she
- 45:05Speaker 2: says another time in his Today Show office he raped her.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Remember he had that button. When he's at his desk,
- 45:12Speaker 2: he can reach under and touch a button that'll lock
- 45:14Speaker 2: all the doors. Now, who has that kind of a
- 45:17Speaker 2: button in their office. I know a lot of big
- 45:21Speaker 2: CEOs that have incredible, unbelievably equipped offices. There's no button
- 45:25Speaker 2: under the desk to lock the doors. That's usually James
- 45:29Speaker 2: Bond Villain has that button. Maybe somewhere in the highest
- 45:34Speaker 2: levels of the intelligence department. Somebody needs that button. But
- 45:37Speaker 2: what does Matt Lower need the button to lock the doors?
- 45:40Speaker 2: So remember this was the story where supposedly he raped
- 45:43Speaker 2: this woman in the office, and then when it was over,
- 45:46Speaker 2: she had passed out and they had a call the
- 45:49Speaker 2: NBC nurses to come drag her out of that kind
- 45:53Speaker 2: of stuff. So she's written a book about this. I
- 45:59Speaker 2: wasn't there. I can't tell you it happened, but sounds
- 46:01Speaker 2: to me like it happened because NBC investigated and Matt
- 46:05Speaker 2: Lower was fired twenty four hours later. Now, I remember,
- 46:09Speaker 2: he's the host of the Today Show. He's getting twenty
- 46:11Speaker 2: five million a year, is a big thing. He's the
- 46:13Speaker 2: number one Today Show. You don't fool around with that.
- 46:16Speaker 2: The fact that they fired him the next day, well,
- 46:23Speaker 2: I think that means something was going on there. So
- 46:27Speaker 2: she's written this book and they asked Katie Kuric about it,
- 46:30Speaker 2: and she didn't defend Matt Lower in anyway. She says,
- 46:33Speaker 2: I feel terrible for her. I think she was very brave,
- 46:36Speaker 2: very brave to write the book. And what can she
- 46:41Speaker 2: say if she knows it's true. I don't know. But
- 46:44Speaker 2: you got to remember something. They all worked with Matt Lauer.
- 46:47Speaker 2: In fact, in fact, if you go back and check
- 46:50Speaker 2: the record, this was during all that me Too stuff
- 46:53Speaker 2: coming out that Charlie Rose type stuff coming out. I
- 46:56Speaker 2: sat on the air Matt Lower, and I said, it's coming.
- 46:59Speaker 2: It's going to happen. He's going to get caught too.
- 47:01Speaker 2: So if I knew about it, I don't even work there.
- 47:05Speaker 2: If I knew about it, why didn't Katie Kurk know
- 47:09Speaker 2: about it? If it's happening at NBC News and they're
- 47:12Speaker 2: supposed to be the top investigative journalists of the world
- 47:16Speaker 2: and it's happening two doors down in the hallway, how
- 47:18Speaker 2: come they didn't know about it? How come they didn't
- 47:20Speaker 2: say anything. It's a pretty good question. Nobody's nobody's asked.
- 47:24Speaker 2: So you want to feel really old, really old. Remember
- 47:31Speaker 2: David Hasselhoff, Remember Baywatch? Remember him in that bathing suit
- 47:35Speaker 2: and the surfboard running along the beach in Baywatch. Look
- 47:38Speaker 2: at this picture David Hasselhoff now using a walker. He's
- 47:43Speaker 2: got the gray hair, white hair, he's got a walker.
- 47:46Speaker 2: He's with a for the his wife is helping him.
- 47:48Speaker 2: He's using a walker. Oh, actually he's only seventy three.
- 47:51Speaker 2: I guess he said some medical problems. Hey Rob Reiner,
- 47:57Speaker 2: you know you had this crazy son, Nick Reiner, But
- 48:02Speaker 2: did you know about this one? Ryan O'Neill and Farah
- 48:04Speaker 2: Fawcett have a son, Ryan O'Neill and Farah fawcett. Son
- 48:08Speaker 2: is named Redmond O'Neill. He was in court last week
- 48:14Speaker 2: with a slew of charges. He's in court for attempted murder.
- 48:18Speaker 2: He looks really frightening. He's got these scary tattoos all
- 48:23Speaker 2: over his face. Apparently struggled with drug addiction from a
- 48:26Speaker 2: very young age, in and out of rehab. He has
- 48:29Speaker 2: all kinds of addictions he can't control. He's been in
- 48:34Speaker 2: asylums and all kinds of rehab for years. In twenty eighteen,
- 48:38Speaker 2: he went on a knife rampage across Los Angeles, attacked
- 48:41Speaker 2: five men, robbed the seven to eleven, seriously injured two victims,
- 48:46Speaker 2: including who was one who was stabbed in the face.
- 48:51Speaker 2: That's not a place, Hollywood, probably not a place you
- 48:53Speaker 2: want to raise your kids. Not a great environment.
- 48:59Speaker 4: Now.
- 48:59Speaker 2: The other thing is King Charles will be here in
- 49:02Speaker 2: New York tomorrow, so just remember that this is I
- 49:04Speaker 2: imagine there'll be a lot of security, be kind of disruptive.
- 49:07Speaker 2: So if you're planning on driving into New York, you
- 49:10Speaker 2: probably don't want to do it tomorrow. Hey, the Sphere
- 49:15Speaker 2: in Las Vegas. You've either been there. It's an amazing
- 49:20Speaker 2: thing to see, or you've seen it. The Sphere in
- 49:23Speaker 2: Las Vegas built by Madison Square Garden, by James Dolan.
- 49:27Speaker 2: You know they spent two and a half billion to
- 49:28Speaker 2: build it. Kind of a gamble. Well, it's now officially
- 49:33Speaker 2: the world's highest grossing entertainment venue. Remember the initial predictions
- 49:38Speaker 2: were all doomsday predictions. It's never going to work. Well,
- 49:42Speaker 2: last year alone, almost two million people bought a ticket
- 49:46Speaker 2: to go to the Sphere. Last year alone, it brought
- 49:48Speaker 2: in about almost four hundred million in revenue. It's the
- 49:52Speaker 2: top grossing venue in the world. It helped push the company,
- 49:57Speaker 2: actually made it a separate company. Sphere Entertainment now in
- 50:00Speaker 2: the black, big net profit investors have taken notice. Company
- 50:05Speaker 2: stock was twenty six dollars. Now it's one hundred and
- 50:08Speaker 2: thirty eight dollars. It's way way up. I talked to
- 50:12Speaker 2: Dolan maybe it was six months ago, about the Sphere.
- 50:14Speaker 2: I said, you're going to open them all over the place.
- 50:16Speaker 2: He just looked at me like, no, it's a it's impossible.
- 50:20Speaker 2: It's like too much to do, it's too it's too
- 50:22Speaker 2: tough to build them, and kind of said, Las Vegas
- 50:25Speaker 2: is really the only place you can do it. Maybe
- 50:28Speaker 2: you could do it in Florida because you really need
- 50:31Speaker 2: a lot of cooperation for the land, for the permits,
- 50:33Speaker 2: for the whole thing from the government there. And obviously
- 50:36Speaker 2: you can't do it in New York. They would just
- 50:38Speaker 2: torture you with zoning and regulations and all that stuff.
- 50:43Speaker 2: And also he kind of said, if you build them
- 50:45Speaker 2: all over the place, it takes away the cachet of
- 50:48Speaker 2: the one in Las Vegas, it's not so special. If
- 50:50Speaker 2: it's a chain and there's a whole bunch of them. Hey, well,
- 50:53Speaker 2: take some calls in a minute. Eight hundred three two
- 50:55Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number, you know. ICE
- 51:00Speaker 2: is the Immigration and Custom Enforcement Agency Customs Enforcement ICE.
- 51:07Speaker 2: And there's all the controversy, all the flack. Somebody suggested
- 51:11Speaker 2: the President Trump, and he loves the idea. Somebody suggested
- 51:15Speaker 2: change the name to the National Immigration Customs Enforcement and
- 51:22Speaker 2: that way it's nice. It's not ICE. It becomes nice
- 51:26Speaker 2: and on the uniform it says nice, and on the
- 51:29Speaker 2: helmet it says nice. He really got excited about that idea.
- 51:33Speaker 2: I think you're going to see him do it, so
- 51:34Speaker 2: expect that to happen pretty soon. They'll change the name
- 51:37Speaker 2: of ICE to Nice National Immigration and Customs Enforcement. So
- 51:42Speaker 2: we'll take some calls next. Eight hundred three two one
- 51:45Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 51:49Speaker 2: one zero seven ten.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Set up preset on the iHeartRadio app to war to
- 51:54Speaker 1: hear Mark live. Set another for Mark's podcast to hear
- 51:58Speaker 1: him anytime. Now back to Mark Simone on Wooray.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 52:09Speaker 2: seven ton is the numbers. Let's go to George and
- 52:12Speaker 2: Long Island. George, how you doing?
- 52:14Speaker 9: Oh high ball?
- 52:15Speaker 4: Go you cannon, go cook.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Let me explain for those of you under eighty. Buchanan
- 52:20Speaker 2: is referring to Pat Buchanan, wonderful guy. Used to be
- 52:23Speaker 2: a guest on this show many many, many, many many
- 52:26Speaker 2: many years ago. Ran for president a couple of times.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Let's go to Danny and Yonkers. Danny, how you doing?
- 52:34Speaker 4: Oh Hi, what was that all about?
- 52:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's another one. Now what they do is they
- 52:43Speaker 2: get together, two or three of them, and they all
- 52:45Speaker 2: call a radio station and they try to sound like
- 52:47Speaker 2: they're a caller. Ohly, they got a t like that,
- 52:51Speaker 2: you know, and then they go into that gob you
- 52:52Speaker 2: cannon go if you cannon. You guys got to update
- 52:55Speaker 2: your act. Come up with a newer name. Yeah, come
- 52:59Speaker 2: up with some name from this century, not the last century.
- 53:04Speaker 2: Let's go to Oh, I know this guy. This is
- 53:06Speaker 2: Gideon from Greenwich, Connecticut. It's actually Gideon Fountain. Is this Gideon?
- 53:11Speaker 4: Yes?
- 53:11Speaker 10: Hey, Mark, I think you're absolutely right to highlight these
- 53:14Speaker 10: this Moundania attack on Ken Griffin, But I wonder it
- 53:18Speaker 10: kind of reminds me. You say that they're still building
- 53:19Speaker 10: lots of buildings in New York and they've got the
- 53:22Speaker 10: builders of a vision for its future. But it reminds
- 53:24Speaker 10: me sort of that maybe, or I think makes me
- 53:26Speaker 10: think of we're in an Ugo Chavez moment, like in Venezuela.
- 53:30Speaker 10: You know, I think they were probably building skyscrapers in
- 53:32Speaker 10: downtown Venezuela in as the capital of Venezuela, and uh
- 53:38Speaker 10: way back when and then up to the minute that
- 53:40Speaker 10: guy took over.
- 53:41Speaker 4: I mean, I could we could be slipping into that
- 53:44Speaker 4: kind of.
- 53:45Speaker 2: At least you're talking about the smartest real estate companies,
- 53:48Speaker 2: you're talking about the rudent stuff Fishers they the uh
- 53:54Speaker 2: left Racks, the sl Green. These guys know what they're doing.
- 53:57Speaker 2: They wouldn't invest here if they weren't sure. Steve Roth,
- 54:01Speaker 2: Steve Ross, all these guys they know what they're doing. Yeah, yeah,
- 54:04Speaker 2: all right, thanks for calling. Let's go to uh Jay
- 54:07Speaker 2: in New Jersey. Jay, how you doing?
- 54:10Speaker 4: Yeah? Heymark?
- 54:13Speaker 2: Uh yeah, Now about this, Listen to me carefully. I
- 54:17Speaker 2: used to be a great prank caller when I was
- 54:19Speaker 2: a kid. You gotta do better. You gotta go up
- 54:22Speaker 2: to another level. You can't just call him go right,
- 54:24Speaker 2: you gotta come up with something.
- 54:26Speaker 11: No, I'm no prank caller. I'm just I'm just I
- 54:28Speaker 11: just found that. I just found the humorous before. But
- 54:31Speaker 11: about yeah, the Secret Service, I think that this guy,
- 54:34Speaker 11: this Secret Service director Sean Kurrn, he something's wrong with
- 54:37Speaker 11: this guy. You know, they messed up with Butler, the
- 54:39Speaker 11: perimeter there, then there's the golf course, then the guy
- 54:42Speaker 11: broken Tomorrow Lago. Now there's this So why is this
- 54:45Speaker 11: guy still why does he still have his job?
- 54:47Speaker 2: Mark? Well, that's a good question.
- 54:51Speaker 8: You know.
- 54:51Speaker 2: You got to realize every time we've had this happen, uh,
- 54:57Speaker 2: after it was over, you look back and say, what
- 54:59Speaker 2: the hell. Why were you so lax? Why were you
- 55:02Speaker 2: so crazy? You know, the Kennedy assassination really was the
- 55:05Speaker 2: first time where after it was over, Why would you
- 55:08Speaker 2: have the president riding in an open car like that?
- 55:12Speaker 2: You're just asking for trumpel It's so he's so vulnerable
- 55:15Speaker 2: riding around that open car. I know they had that
- 55:19Speaker 2: bubbletop they could put on, but you know the bubbletop
- 55:22Speaker 2: wasn't bulletproof. That bubbletop was really for the rain, not
- 55:26Speaker 2: anything else. But after that was over, you realized riding
- 55:29Speaker 2: around in an open car this was insane. So when
- 55:32Speaker 2: they built the new presidential limousines, there was no way
- 55:35Speaker 2: to open the top and they were bulletproof, bomb proof.
- 55:41Speaker 2: And then uh, the next assassination was the gerald Ford
- 55:44Speaker 2: two assassination attempts on gerald Ford. And you look back
- 55:47Speaker 2: at the Reagan assassination attempt you think that was crazy.
- 55:52Speaker 2: Why would you walk President Reagan out into the driveway
- 55:56Speaker 2: where there's a million people standing around him and walk
- 55:59Speaker 2: him past that crowd like that? Why don't you know
- 56:02Speaker 2: you look nowadays they take him through a tent you
- 56:04Speaker 2: can't see him, or they pull the car like inside
- 56:07Speaker 2: the garage and he gets in in there and this
- 56:10Speaker 2: White House Correspondents dinner. This has been going on for years, decades,
- 56:14Speaker 2: decades in that ballroom. And now you look back and
- 56:18Speaker 2: he said, well, this was crazy. You haven't it in
- 56:20Speaker 2: a hotel that's open with a thousand people staying upstairs
- 56:24Speaker 2: that haven't been screened. It's crazy. But nobody ever thinks
- 56:29Speaker 2: of all this stuff ahead of time. But it's just
- 56:33Speaker 2: you know, now when the president you ever see this
- 56:36Speaker 2: presidential limousine, this videos online, it'll show you in detail
- 56:40Speaker 2: what's in there. It's bomb proof, it's bulletproof. It can
- 56:44Speaker 2: launch missiles, it can literally launch missiles. It can withstand
- 56:48Speaker 2: a poison gas attack. You know, when you're in that beast,
- 56:52Speaker 2: you can't open the door. In fact, the other day
- 56:56Speaker 2: President Trump and Missus Trump went to the car and
- 56:59Speaker 2: he got in and she got in. On the other send,
- 57:01Speaker 2: people were saying, well, why didn't he open the door
- 57:03Speaker 2: for you can't open the door. In fact, the door
- 57:07Speaker 2: it's so thick and so bombproof. The door weighs almost
- 57:10Speaker 2: three hundred pounds. So when you're riding in the beast,
- 57:13Speaker 2: the Secret Service will say to you, don't try to
- 57:16Speaker 2: open the door yourself. We'll open it for you, and
- 57:18Speaker 2: it's like two burly secret service guys have to open it.
- 57:21Speaker 2: Let's go to Dennis in Boundbrook. Dennis, how you doing?
- 57:25Speaker 12: Yeah, good morning, Mark?
- 57:26Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 57:26Speaker 12: Mark. My question is this with regards to the shooting
- 57:29Speaker 12: in Washington. This guy had a room at the hotel. Supposedly,
- 57:32Speaker 12: let's say his room was facing the street. Yeh, couldn't
- 57:36Speaker 12: he just go to his windows since there's no security,
- 57:38Speaker 12: He's got guns and start shooting people like fish in
- 57:41Speaker 12: a barrel, And yeah, wouldn't have been stopped.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Right, Very good point. You know, there was a white
- 57:46Speaker 2: House Corspondent in a few years ago where they were
- 57:48Speaker 2: Palestinian supporters and as the press approached the hotel hanging
- 57:54Speaker 2: out of the windows, these protesters rented like ten rooms
- 57:58Speaker 2: in a row on one floor, and they were able
- 58:01Speaker 2: to unfurl an enormous Palestinian flag in front of the
- 58:05Speaker 2: hotel for everybody to see as they walked in. I mean,
- 58:10Speaker 2: it's a lot of people. About two thousand people come
- 58:13Speaker 2: to this dinner. That's why it's in the Washington Hilton,
- 58:17Speaker 2: because it's the only ballroom big enough in DC to
- 58:19Speaker 2: get two thousand people in there. Now people say, well,
- 58:22Speaker 2: want they cut it down to like six hundred or so.
- 58:24Speaker 2: The real purpose of the dinner. All the big news
- 58:29Speaker 2: organizations take a table. Washington Post takes three tables, Fox
- 58:33Speaker 2: News takes three tables, four tables, the NBC takes four
- 58:36Speaker 2: or five to the real reason they take these tables
- 58:39Speaker 2: is to invite their advertisers. It's a big perk for
- 58:42Speaker 2: the advertisers. You bring them to the dinner. So that's
- 58:45Speaker 2: why they can't cut it down. That's why it's two
- 58:46Speaker 2: thousand people. Every news organization wants to bring fifty advertisers
- 58:51Speaker 2: to the dinner. Now, Bill O'Reilly was there in the
- 58:54Speaker 2: room right near where the gunshots happened, so we'll talk
- 58:58Speaker 2: to him next. He can tell us what really happened
- 59:00Speaker 2: in there that night. We'll get to that in a
- 59:02Speaker 2: second on seven to ten WR.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Here's more of the Mark Simon Show on WR.
- 59:12Speaker 2: Well, Bill O'Reilly, of course, the number one television anchor
- 59:15Speaker 2: in America for decades, the number one best selling author
- 59:19Speaker 2: nonfiction author in the world for years, and he's got
- 59:23Speaker 2: a you know, you can watch the TV show, get
- 59:26Speaker 2: the column. Everything's at billoreilly dot com. But he's got
- 59:30Speaker 2: a great new podcast called We'll Do It Live. Latest
- 59:33Speaker 2: episodes Janine Piro. But I'll go watch all the episodes
- 59:36Speaker 2: We'll Do It Live and check out Bill O'Reilly's YouTube channel.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Great content there, Bill O'Reilly. How you doing.
- 59:44Speaker 9: I'm pretty exhausted after that intro Simone. I didn't know
- 59:48Speaker 9: I was doing all that.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Yeah, not only that, you've been in the middle of
- 59:54Speaker 2: combat before, and then Saturday night, you're standing in the
- 59:58Speaker 2: Washington Hilton ballroom. You were right near those gunshots, weren't you.
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: Yeah. I was right at the back door, and I
- 1:00:05Speaker 9: heard those gunshots pretty clearly and looked up the escalator
- 1:00:12Speaker 9: that's the only way down into the ballroom, and I
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: knew there was a frank is going on upstairs. But
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: everybody dove under the table. You know, in hindsight, I
- 1:00:23Speaker 9: did not dive under the table. I wish I had.
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: I would have been there with Wolf Blitzer. Maybe we
- 1:00:30Speaker 9: could have had a chat. And he was deeply embedded
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: under the table. You know, I never for one second
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: thought I was going to hit the carpet. You know,
- 1:00:42Speaker 9: it's a story. You got to see the story, and
- 1:00:45Speaker 9: then it happens so rapidly because after the gunshots couldn't
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: have been more than twenty seconds, with the Secret Service
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: con barreling through the doors and down the aisle to
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: whisk President Trump away. So I hope everybody enjoyed themselves
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: under the table.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Well, now, but you were a war correspondent in the
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: middle of the Falkland's battles. You were in the middle
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: of covering riots. But so you're a trained war correspondent.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: But if you're a TV anchor from MS now, you've
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: never been through that. So I guess that's why they
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: were under the table. They didn't know what else to do.
- 1:01:27Speaker 9: I just don't think I'm smart enough to go unto
- 1:01:29Speaker 9: the table. As my son said to me, he said,
- 1:01:32Speaker 9: you're going to get your head balloon off. I said, look,
- 1:01:35Speaker 9: I've been trying to do it for fifty years, so anyway,
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: I don't I'm making fun of the people who hit
- 1:01:44Speaker 9: the ground, but they did the right thing. You want
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: to get out of the fire zone, But my first
- 1:01:52Speaker 9: instinct is always to cover the story.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: Yeah, he just explained to people that ballroom, the way
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: it's set up, the tables are crammed together like you
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: can't Yeah, you can barely walk between them. It's tough
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: to get out of that room.
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: Two thousand people in the ballroom, three thousand people upstairs
- 1:02:10Speaker 9: in the hotel rooms, five thousand all together. Nobody can
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: control a crowd like that. Nobody. Yeah, this was my
- 1:02:18Speaker 9: I think sixth dinner that I went to, and you know,
- 1:02:25Speaker 9: I never really said, like some people did, well the
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: security is this or that. I thought it was pretty
- 1:02:32Speaker 9: well designed. That guy had no chance to get down
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: a stairway into the ballroom none. So he's alone, and
- 1:02:43Speaker 9: he had to know that if he case the place.
- 1:02:46Speaker 9: This is no way that he was going to get
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: down into the main lobby and then get down an escalator.
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: Whether we're eighteen checkpoints with secret Service in US marshals,
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: there's no way it could happen. But he, you know,
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: wanted to inject a terrifying scenario and he did.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but would you agree there's no way to ever
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: hold that event in a hotel with people.
- 1:03:12Speaker 9: That'll never happen again. And it also get Trump ballroom billed, Yeah,
- 1:03:18Speaker 9: because it's too risky. Now there's just too many crazy
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: people all over the place, and there are, and my
- 1:03:25Speaker 9: theory of social media is responsible for most of that,
- 1:03:29Speaker 9: or much of it, but it's exacerbated by television and
- 1:03:34Speaker 9: you know, crazy idea logs all over the place, not
- 1:03:37Speaker 9: just on the left, but that's the primary melting pot
- 1:03:42Speaker 9: for them right now.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, with that ballroom, you know, the President says, well,
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: the East Room, you can only do one hundred and forty.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: This will do two thousand people. Has he thought about
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: you also have to have parking spaces for two thousand cars.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: I don't think he thought about that part, did he.
- 1:03:57Speaker 9: Well, are you talking about the room at the White House? Yeah,
- 1:04:02Speaker 9: now you get it. There's no parking. You gotta walk it.
- 1:04:05Speaker 9: So you want to go to the White House, there's
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: no parking. You get out of your uber or wherever
- 1:04:11Speaker 9: you're going and you walk in. Yeah, so you know,
- 1:04:14Speaker 9: to worry about that. There was parking at the hotel
- 1:04:19Speaker 9: underneath it. But I don't believe that was a fact.
- 1:04:22Speaker 9: That this guy got dropped off from the train station.
- 1:04:26Speaker 9: He went from the from Chicago to DC on the train,
- 1:04:34Speaker 9: got off the train, lugged his gear, checked into the
- 1:04:37Speaker 9: hotel a day before, and you know, obviously it was
- 1:04:41Speaker 9: planned out, but it was pretty poorly planned out.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: So half an hour after the gunshots, what was going
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: on the boatroom. Were people still there? And when did
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: you leave?
- 1:04:51Speaker 9: I left after I couldn't get any more information because
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: I had befriended a US marshal who was giving me
- 1:05:03Speaker 9: pretty good information. At the point I was passing along
- 1:05:05Speaker 9: the News Nation, their correspondence were on the air. I
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: didn't want to hot shot it, so I gave them
- 1:05:12Speaker 9: the info that I had. So I was there, I
- 1:05:16Speaker 9: would say about twenty minutes watching journalist steel wine off
- 1:05:21Speaker 9: the table, which they did, and they absolutely did. And
- 1:05:27Speaker 9: uh then everybody filed out, and the stake and lobster
- 1:05:32Speaker 9: was donated to almost I guess food places, which is
- 1:05:37Speaker 9: which is fine, But the whole thing was surrealed to
- 1:05:41Speaker 9: a lot of people. In fact, they got a follow
- 1:05:43Speaker 9: up call the next day from News Nation and he goes,
- 1:05:47Speaker 9: so you okay, I said, look, I spent time in
- 1:05:50Speaker 9: El Salvador Jungles. This wasn't even close to that. Okay,
- 1:05:57Speaker 9: I'm fine, but thanks for asking.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Hey, let's change subjects. Bill O'Reilly Jimmy Kimmel, you're the
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: chairman of Disney. What would you do? Would you take
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: him off the ear?
- 1:06:06Speaker 9: You know the first time Kimmel got into this kind
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: of trouble with Charlie Kirk and I cut him a
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: little slack, and I was wrong in doing that. He
- 1:06:18Speaker 9: guy's just a hater. So my question is to Disney,
- 1:06:21Speaker 9: not to Jimmy Kimmel. Why is he on the air.
- 1:06:26Speaker 9: So if you had a conservative, a right winger every
- 1:06:29Speaker 9: night spouting hate against somebody on the left, you think
- 1:06:33Speaker 9: that person be on the air.
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: No?
- 1:06:36Speaker 9: Yeah, okay, So I'd like an explanation from Disney why
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: this man is on the air. Not funny, not a satirist.
- 1:06:44Speaker 9: He's just there to mean the president in the Office
- 1:06:48Speaker 9: of the Presidency. That's all he's there to do. He's
- 1:06:53Speaker 9: got a very small audience, less than two million. Okay,
- 1:06:56Speaker 9: Why is he there for what reason? Disney? I'm asking Disney,
- 1:07:03Speaker 9: and they don't have a reason. I mean, this has
- 1:07:05Speaker 9: hurt their business, So what did dou se you doing? Now?
- 1:07:10Speaker 9: I'm not a big censorship guys. You know people thrown
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: off the air because they mock politicians. I mock politicians
- 1:07:19Speaker 9: all the time. But this guy is not in business
- 1:07:21Speaker 9: to mock. He's in business to hurt.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody put their sponsor list up and I don't
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: believe in sponsor boycott. You shouldn't do that. But I'm
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: looking at the list McDonald's Chevy. Why are they advertising
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: on a show like that.
- 1:07:35Speaker 9: They bought Bolgue, which in the television industry then don't
- 1:07:40Speaker 9: even know what they're buying. Yeah, they buy prime time,
- 1:07:44Speaker 9: they buy late night, they buy mornings. They're not going, oh,
- 1:07:49Speaker 9: let's advertise Jimmy Kimmel. That doesn't happen. However, they know
- 1:07:55Speaker 9: they're on Jimmy Kimmel. The sponsors know, and they don't care.
- 1:08:04Speaker 9: And that's the big thing. Disney does not care about
- 1:08:08Speaker 9: this at all. If it did, Kima would have been,
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: you know, gone into Albuquerque after the Kirk thing. They
- 1:08:18Speaker 9: don't care.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, big ceremonies for King Charles, Dinners receptions. I
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: see all the Democrats there, Pelosi. What happened to this
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: no kings thing? They're all over slabbering all over King Charles.
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: They love the King.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: I kind of like him.
- 1:08:34Speaker 9: I never met him, but you know, as an Irish Catholic,
- 1:08:39Speaker 9: we don't we take a jim view of the British Royalty,
- 1:08:45Speaker 9: that's for sure. But I don't think he's a bad man.
- 1:08:49Speaker 9: He's done some good environmental work. I think he's got
- 1:08:52Speaker 9: problems with his kids, as everybody does. So he's over here,
- 1:08:57Speaker 9: but he's only here for one reasons to patch up
- 1:09:01Speaker 9: the NATO thing with Trump. That's the only reason he's here,
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: and I hope they do. We need the UK as
- 1:09:09Speaker 9: our ally.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: Hey Bill O'Reilly, you can go to Bill O'Reilly dot com.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: You can see his TV show, get his column the
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: Message of the Day, watch his YouTube channel. There's great
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: content there and I love the new podcast, We'll do
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: It Live. The latest one is Janine Piro and what
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: else you got coming up on there?
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: We go.
- 1:09:30Speaker 9: Week to week about I'm trying to contemporize it. So
- 1:09:34Speaker 9: we got lucky with Piro because she's deeply involved now
- 1:09:38Speaker 9: in the prosecution of this assassin and people don't really
- 1:09:45Speaker 9: understand what she was doing there, what her title was,
- 1:09:48Speaker 9: Get Lucky. But what I try to do is we
- 1:09:51Speaker 9: don't book ahead too much anymore. We're trying to get right,
- 1:09:56Speaker 9: cutting edge stuff and it's really working well. I got
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: little plaquesimone from YouTube congratulating me for a million subs
- 1:10:06Speaker 9: in record time, and now we have close to two million.
- 1:10:11Speaker 9: And the reason is that, you know, when I interview somebody,
- 1:10:15Speaker 9: it's no bs, I'm not waste your time. I'm getting
- 1:10:18Speaker 9: where we're supposed to get. And with that amount of time,
- 1:10:23Speaker 9: it's kind of fun because you can go a lot
- 1:10:25Speaker 9: of different places.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: Well, it's very good stuff. Everybody go to Bill O'Reilly
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: on YouTube. Bill O'Reilly on YouTube, and we're going to

- 1:10:44Speaker 2: get everything else there. Hey, rumor is you got another
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: book you're working on?
- 1:10:48Speaker 9: Yeah, confronting America? What has to change? And uh, beyond
- 1:10:54Speaker 9: mid September, that's when we try to do. Each September
- 1:10:58Speaker 9: we try to drop a book. I don't have many more.
- 1:11:01Speaker 9: I'm going to do that. It's hard with this one,
- 1:11:04Speaker 9: you know, really tough to write. But it links in
- 1:11:09Speaker 9: my experience, personal experience running around the world and meeting
- 1:11:15Speaker 9: all these people with how to solve the problems that
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: are vexing the United States. And I think people will
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: enjoy it because it's not just like well we got
- 1:11:27Speaker 9: to do this, this and this's I was here, this
- 1:11:31Speaker 9: is what happened, this is screwed up. This is who
- 1:11:35Speaker 9: did well? You know, bah bum. Their storytelling involves here.
- 1:11:40Speaker 9: So if it's the last book, I'm going out on fire.
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: It's never the last book. You always say that there'll
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: be more, many more books coming. But everybody, Hey, check
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: out Bill O'Reilly on YouTube. Watch the new podcast We'll

- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Hill Mark Simon Show continues.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Hey, I had so many things going on, we didn't
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: really get into this. We'll do it tomorrow. Anthony Fauci,
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: you remember that dirty, sleazy Anthony Fauci, his chief advisor,
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: has been indicted by the Department of Justice. You know,
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: there was a lot of funny business going on with
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: that Fauci and his team. This indictment has to do
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: with covering up the origins of the virus. It came
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: from China, it came from a lab in wu On,
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: and they were being accused of covering up that, covering
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: up the fact that they funded the lab funded the
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: development of the virus. The chief scientific advisor to Founcy Fauci,
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: has been indicted. Now, usually they start low and indict
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: their way up the chain, so Fauci this could be next.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: We'll see what they get out of this guy. But
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: keep an eye on that developing story. King Charles addresses
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: Congress today, State Dinner tonight. He'll be in New York tomorrow,
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: which probably means some kind of traffic problem tomorrow in Manhattan. Hey,
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: we're out of time. Mark Simone here every day ten
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: to noon or listen anytime you want, day or knight.
