- 1:33Hey, sis, welcome back to the show. I am so excited that you are here.
- 1:38Today, we are getting real about what a healthy, mature, godly man looks like.
- 1:43The kind of man whose life reflects Christ.
- 1:47We're going to unpack eight characteristics that truly matter.
- 1:50He bears fruit, lives with integrity, walks in wisdom, is equally yoked,
- 1:56loves like Christ, practices self-control, seeks counsel and accountability,
- 2:01and leads with humility.
- 2:04After two divorces and many flings later, I gave myself fully to Christ back in 2016.
- 2:11It was after a dream, a true awakening that changed everything in me.
- 2:16More on that story later.
- 2:18But from that moment on, I decided to obey God completely.
- 2:22I stopped dating, went into a season of celibacy, and even let go of friendships
- 2:27that weren't aligned with where God was taking me.
- 2:30It wasn't easy. There were lonely nights, tears, and a lot of wrestling with my old self.
- 2:36But now looking back, it was the best decision I ever made.
- 2:40For 10 years, I walked with God, alone, raising my daughters as a single mom.
- 2:46That season stripped me, refined me, and taught me who I was in Christ.
- 2:52God showed me the broken parts of my heart, the unhealed places that made me attract the wrong men.
- 2:58That revelation, wow, was everything.
- 3:02And through that process, I realized something powerful.
- 3:06Discernment is one of the greatest gifts God can give his daughters.
- 3:10Because once you see with spiritual eyes, you can't be fooled by words,
- 3:15charm, or church attendance anymore. You start seeing fruit.
- 3:19So about that fruit, let's talk about what that kind of man looks like because
- 3:24you can't identify what you don't understand.
- 3:27When we know better, we do better, right?
- 3:31So number one, he bears good fruit.
- 3:35Matthew 7, 16 through 20 tells us,
- 3:38you will know them by their fruits i cannot
- 3:42stress this enough sis anyone can say they're a christian but how does their
- 3:47life look behind closed doors does he live with integrity when no one is watching
- 3:51does he treat people with kindness humility and respect a godly man doesn't
- 3:57just talk faith he walks it.
- 4:01Number two, he lives with integrity. Integrity is consistency,
- 4:07being the same person in public and in private.
- 4:10A mature man of God honors his commitments, tells the truth and doesn't compromise
- 4:16his values for convenience or appearance.
- 4:19He's not perfect, but he's accountable and honest about his flaws.
- 4:25Number three, he walks in wisdom.
- 4:28Proverbs 4, 7 says, wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore, get wisdom.
- 4:33A wise man seeks God's direction in every decision. He prays,
- 4:38listens, and waits before he moves.
- 4:40Wisdom is reflected in how he handles conflict, money, and authority.
- 4:46His decisions build stability, not chaos. So if it's chaotic, sis, it's got to go.
- 4:534. He's equally yoked. 2 Corinthians 6.14 warns us not to be unequally yoked.
- 5:00A mature man of God doesn't just believe in God. He follows him.
- 5:05His values align with the word. His heart is surrendered.
- 5:09A relationship with him doesn't pull you away from God. It pulls you closer to him.
- 5:16Number five, he loves like Christ. Oh girl, when you get this kind of love, it is so special.
- 5:24In 1 Corinthians 13, four through seven, gives us a blueprint for love.
- 5:29Patient, kind, not proud, not easily angered.
- 5:34A man walking in Christ's love doesn't manipulate or control.
- 5:38His love brings peace, not confusion.
- 5:41Number six, he practices self-control. Oh, yes, he does.
- 5:47Galatians 5, 22 through 23 describes the fruit of the Spirit.
- 5:52Love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness,
- 5:56gentleness, and self-control.
- 5:59A godly man has mastery over his emotions and his desires.
- 6:04He doesn't let lust, pride, or anger lead him.
- 6:09Number seven, he seeks counsel and accountability. Proverbs 12,
- 6:1415 reminds us that the way of a fool seems right to him, but the wise listen to advice.
- 6:22A healthy man surrounds himself with wise mentors, godly friends, and accountability.
- 6:28He's teachable and humble enough to admit when he's wrong.
- 6:33And number eight, he serves and leads with humility.
- 6:37Jesus said in Matthew 20, 26, that whoever wants to be great must become a servant.
- 6:44A godly man leads his life, not with domination, but through service and humility.
- 6:50His leadership looks like prayer, protection, and partnership.
- 6:54Now, really quick, I want to define partnership.
- 6:58I think that this is important. I feel like God wants to highlight this.
- 7:02So I looked at the definition of partnership, and this is what it says.
- 7:07Two people walking in unity, supporting each other's growth,
- 7:11vision, and well-being.
- 7:13Spiritually, a kingdom partnership can mean aligning with someone or something
- 7:18that advances God's purpose through shared faith, service, and obedience.
- 7:25I want to add this in there as well. Eve was formed from Adam's rib,
- 7:30signifying that she was meant to be his equal, to stand beside him and to be
- 7:35unified with him, not below him.
- 7:38Now your homework. I want you to take this week to journal on something powerful.
- 7:43Ask yourself, have I been choosing potential or fruit?
- 7:47Write down the qualities that God has shown you in this episode, then honestly reflect.
- 7:53Do the men I've dated display these fruits?
- 7:57What does my discernment say about their character, not their charm?
- 8:01And most importantly, pray for God to give you eyes to see the truth,
- 8:07not through emotion, but through the spirit.
- 8:11And if you're in a season of waiting, don't rush it. Learn.
- 8:15Grow right now. God's best will never require you to compromise your worth, ma'am.
- 8:21Ma'am. I'm going to say it again. God's best will never require you to compromise your worth.
- 8:30Thank you for tuning in to Girl Date the Good Guy. Until next time,
- 8:34keep your heart soft, your standards high, and your faith even higher.
