- 0:00Hey everyone, you're listening to the Curt Landry podcast where we're going to help you
- 0:08discover your kingdom destiny.
- 0:10My name is Darrell and sitting right beside me, it's his show, it's Rabbi Curt Landry.
- 0:16And in this episode, we're going to be discussing the topic of artificial intelligence, better
- 0:21known as AI.
- 0:23We're going to break down how this new technology will impact the spreading of the gospel.
- 0:28But before we jump into this episode and much more, Rabbi, how's it been going, man?
- 0:34Hey listen, I'm doing really good.
- 0:36I'm excited about what's happening in the world.
- 0:39There's a lot of things shifting, but I think that if I could kind of, where I'm at, I'm
- 0:44looking for the opportunity in the chaos.
- 0:47Because anytime there's this much shaking, some good things are going to shake loose.
- 0:51And I want to encourage people to have that attitude.
- 0:55And one of the things that, you know, I'm real excited about this subject today talking
- 0:58about AI, artificial intelligence.
- 1:00Listen, I've been praying about this for about three years and actually started to kind of
- 1:06on my own researching it.
- 1:09And so I'm just excited about this subject.
- 1:13And I know I've got, anyway, I'm just really pumped about the opportunities here.
- 1:21Anytime we can spread the gospel through any format, to me, that's a good thing.
- 1:27You know, you're really, about salvation, here's the thing.
- 1:31If you can just, you know, that there's actually over one billion people, this isn't my stats,
- 1:40this is off, I think, Barnum, one billion people in the world have never heard the gospel.
- 1:48Never.
- 1:50And what people have to understand is, with all this technology and what we have, we have
- 1:54a responsibility at least give them an opportunity here at Make a Choice.
- 1:59You know, what a sad thing that someone goes to hell.
- 2:01I mean, you have to believe in heaven and hell, and I do.
- 2:04And many years ago, I actually, my pre-, my late teens and my unsaved days, I actually
- 2:15had an overdose on LSD.
- 2:18And when I overdosed on the LSD, I actually had an experience where I went to hell and
- 2:24had a very horrible experience with Satan and everything, and you would say, well, that's
- 2:28horrible, but to be honest with you, you know, what the enemy meant for bad, the Lord turned
- 2:34to good.
- 2:35One of my motivations to share the gospel with as many people and any, listen, I'll
- 2:39go anywhere and share the gospel.
- 2:43And one of the reasons is because that experience, it was so terrifying.
- 2:48I can just say this, it was almost like I was on the verge of like a nervous breakdown
- 2:53and losing my mind.
- 2:54I was so tormented in this overdose atmosphere of, it felt like I physically was in hell
- 3:01and I was facing Satan and he said he was gonna kill me.
- 3:06And my wife wasn't saved at the time.
- 3:08She didn't know this was happening to me with Christy.
- 3:13She prayed to God.
- 3:14She actually, at that time, unsaved people, she prayed, and I believe her prayer was heard,
- 3:18pulled me out, and obviously I survived it, but I've never forgotten.
- 3:22And so to me, when I look at statistics like that, over a billion people have never heard
- 3:27the gospel, if we have an opportunity to reach them so that they don't go to hell, to me,
- 3:32that's probably the ultimate responsibility of a Christian is to share that reality because
- 3:39I can tell you that my hell experience was, you wouldn't wish it upon your worst enemy.
- 3:46So episode five, this is gonna be the first episode of the Curt Landry podcast that we're
- 3:53bringing in a special guest and this one individual is just incredible in the sense from the marketing
- 4:02side but from the AI side.
- 4:05He's got a big background in it.
- 4:07His name is Tucker Dunleavy and he's Curt Landry Ministry Senior Director of Digital
- 4:13and Creative Marketing and super blessed to have Tucker on our team but definitely wanted
- 4:19to bring him in to kind of break down his perspective on coming on board for the ministry
- 4:28and what we can use technology and how we can spread the gospel.
- 4:33But before we bring him in, Rabbi, at this point leading into the AI discussion, it's
- 4:40been hot for the past couple years, right?
- 4:45I guess simply ask what point, if it was prophetically or is it a moment of vision, a dream, what
- 4:53led you to this point of saying, okay, I feel like that CLM's gonna take on AI and we're
- 5:01gonna take it to the next level to spread the gospel?
- 5:05Okay, one of the reasons I like the Curt Landry podcast, I get to be very transparent.
- 5:10So I'm just gonna share my experience.
- 5:12So roughly about three years ago, maybe a little bit longer, I was looking at the AI
- 5:18and listen, I'm an optimistic person.
- 5:20I always look at things and maybe too optimistic sometimes.
- 5:22But anyway, I was looking at it and I was having a conversation with some other Christian
- 5:28leaders and I said, you know what, this AI, I think I'm gonna do something with AI.
- 5:35And when I did, basically, there was a real negative response.
- 5:40Oh my gosh, this is the antichrist.
- 5:44I can't believe you're gonna do it.
- 5:46And I had some people pretty close to me almost like on the rebuking stage, like telling,
- 5:51you can't do this.
- 5:52This is the devil, you're this.
- 5:54And I'm going, okay, well, maybe it is.
- 5:56And so I said, okay, I'm gonna back off.
- 5:58I literally told them, I said, okay, I'm not gonna do this right now, but I am gonna research
- 6:02it.
- 6:03And anyway, my son-in-law and I, Paul, didn't tell anybody, but we thought, okay, we're
- 6:07gonna research this.
- 6:08And when I'm talking about research, I'm talking about attorneys and people like Tucker you're
- 6:14gonna talk about.
- 6:15And I mean, we went deep into this thing.
- 6:19But before I did that, what I did is I went to the Lord and I prayed and I said, Lord,
- 6:23tell me.
- 6:24I said, man, my brothers are like stoning me out here with this thing.
- 6:27I lost my mind.
- 6:30And I literally said that in my prayer.
- 6:31And what the Lord told me prophetically was he said, it's a rock.
- 6:35I said, okay, it's a rock.
- 6:37What do you mean?
- 6:38He said, it's just a rock.
- 6:39He said, it's a rock.
- 6:40You can either take a rock and kill your brother Abel.
- 6:45You can kill Abel.
- 6:46Cain can kill Abel with a rock.
- 6:47Or you can be King David and use the rock to kill the Goliath.
- 6:53And he says, it's all the intention of the heart.
- 6:56So I said, all right, I get it.
- 6:57It's the heart.
- 6:58So my heart is to preach the gospel, bring the good news to places I can't get to.
- 7:04And AI has a lot of features and abilities to be able to do that.
- 7:08So I really sense that's when we started to research it.
- 7:11We moved for almost two years.
- 7:13And then obviously we're blessed to find Tucker and he came into our lives.
- 7:18And here he is, a Christian, and also has AI experience.
- 7:23And we have another gentleman named Stefan and he has AI experience.
- 7:28And so anytime you do something, now listen, most of my Christian brothers that were close
- 7:33to me now that I have shared with them, and then, Darrell, I shared with them me speaking
- 7:38Espanol.
- 7:41And they looked at that from AI.
- 7:42It's like, okay, so in the three year period, I had everyone kind of against me and now
- 7:47everyone's going go, Kurt, go.
- 7:48This is great.
- 7:50But one of the things people don't realize is that in order to have proof of concept
- 7:54and with technologies that are pioneering, I don't care what it is, it just takes time
- 8:00to be able to wrestle the thing to the ground to where you can function.
- 8:05And we're just now getting there.
- 8:06But I think it's one of the greatest tools to be able to spread the gospel and save people
- 8:11from going to hell that ever.
- 8:14I mean, I think it's great.
- 8:16We want to kind of share that on this podcast with people because, man, it's something obviously
- 8:22that can be used for evil, but it's also something that can be used for good.
- 8:26I think it has to do with the heart and what you put in the funnel.
- 8:31Podcast at curtlandry.com.
- 8:32If you have questions, any thoughts that you want to share with us, hopefully we get a
- 8:39ton, Rabbi.
- 8:40I mean, it's been trickling in.
- 8:41But again, if you have anything, make sure you just put the title and the subject line
- 8:46so we know what it's about and so we can get it to Rabbi and we can just analyze it and
- 8:53decide what to do with it.
- 8:54But again, it's podcast at curtlandry.com.
- 8:57And Rabbi, I think you mentioning Curt Landry in Espanol is a good segue to bring in our
- 9:04guy Tucker.
- 9:05Nathan, go ahead and pod Tucker in for us.
- 9:08Tucker.
- 9:09Hey, Darrell.
- 9:10Rabbi, thanks for having me.
- 9:14Yeah.
- 9:15It's so great to have you.
- 9:16I mean, listen, I know you've only been with us a short while, but you're such a blessing
- 9:21and such a great...
- 9:25I wish you were here on campus with us, but I know that you're not.
- 9:31But it's just, your presence and your work is so appreciated.
- 9:36And Kristi and I just love having you in our family.
- 9:39Well, thanks, Rabbi.
- 9:41I really appreciate that.
- 9:43And yeah, it feels like a lot longer.
- 9:45I think I've been here about going on half a year now.
- 9:49We've been moving quickly and I really have enjoyed working with the team here, Darrell
- 9:54and everyone on the media and marketing departments.
- 9:57It's been quite the experience.
- 10:00Learning a lot and I'm really happy to be here today to talk about AI and how we can
- 10:06use that technology to reach new hearts with an advanced, the kingdom.
- 10:13But also just to get your perspective, which is unique to me.
- 10:17So before jumping into that, I am in New England.
- 10:21We're getting a lot of snow today.
- 10:22The kids actually have another snow day.
- 10:25How's the weather looking like over there in Oklahoma?
- 10:28Yeah, it's the same thing here.
- 10:31We've got snow and ice and low temperatures.
- 10:36The difference here is it won't last long.
- 10:38Like next week, it could be like 40 or 50 degrees.
- 10:41But yeah, we're in, we've been at the school.
- 10:44We have a school here at House of David coming in Academy and the kids are home because we
- 10:51don't want people out on the roads.
- 10:52But it's really, it's not too bad.
- 10:54Good, good.
- 10:57Yeah.
- 10:58Well, anyway, if we want to jump into AI, I'm really excited.
- 11:03I have kind of a list of questions for you and then I'd love to just give my input and
- 11:09thoughts on this whole topic.
- 11:11I think, you know, to start, Darrell, thanks for the introduction, by the way, man.
- 11:15Really nice.
- 11:16Just a little background.
- 11:17So yeah, I consider myself a tech and AI enthusiast.
- 11:22Just a nice rephrasing of the term geek.
- 11:25And like many in the modern world, I've spent my entire life, my adult career working behind
- 11:31a screen.
- 11:33So it's something that I've sort of grown up with and I've become very familiar with
- 11:36over the years.
- 11:37Yeah, before before coming to the ministry, before coming to Curt Landry Ministries, I
- 11:44was actually working as the creative director for an AI company based in New Zealand that
- 11:51had headquarters just out of New York City.
- 11:54So just a little background.
- 11:57I worked on a subset of generative AI, which is called Natural Language Generation, or
- 12:04NLG, and I'll stop with the acronyms after that because I can already tell that everyone's
- 12:09eyes are glossing over.
- 12:12But essentially, our AI system would analyze your data and then provide written summaries
- 12:17or reports or insights in English, natural language.
- 12:22So that's my background.
- 12:24And I worked there for about six years before coming to the ministry.
- 12:26So a big pivot here in my career and my path, one that I felt really called to and I think,
- 12:34I mean, that final, as they would say, nail in that coffin was I was weighing my options.
- 12:39And you know, one of the first things that came up was how, Rabbi, you were considering
- 12:46bringing in this artificial intelligence into the church and into the ministry.
- 12:51And that, of course, coming from my background, just resonated on such a level with me.
- 12:56And it was something that was so unfamiliar as someone who has been in the process of
- 13:01rediscovering and rededicating his life to God and to Scripture and to really deepening
- 13:08that relationship.
- 13:09It was like a no brainer situation when I heard that, that you were looking at bringing
- 13:16in AI because it's just, it's something, it's not an industry that we were certainly looking
- 13:20at serving.
- 13:21It's not something that I think is, I think it's pretty divisive still across the board.
- 13:27And so I just love, you know, first and foremost, I love that Curt Landry Ministries is open
- 13:35and willing to leverage this technology in a way that will reach hearts and expand those,
- 13:42you know, advance that kingdom of God and his message to these nations through whatever
- 13:47means possible.
- 13:48I love that take.
- 13:49I love that you're saying, hey, this is a neutral technology.
- 13:52It's something that can be used for good or for bad.
- 13:56And if it's there and available, then we are going to leverage it and we are going to use
- 14:01it.
- 14:02So I think that's just a great position to take.
- 14:05Yeah.
- 14:07Special guest, Tucker Dunleavy, Senior Director of Digital and Creative Marketing here at
- 14:12Curt Landry Ministries.
- 14:13First guest on the Curt Landry Podcast and we're talking about artificial intelligence,
- 14:20looking at the impact of spreading the gospel.
- 14:24I guess a question to both of y'all.
- 14:26So when you look at AI and you look at traditional spreading the gospel rabbi, right?
- 14:34And where those two things actually meet, because we're at a really unique spot.
- 14:41And Tucker, I'd love for you to break down and really tell the listeners more about Curt
- 14:46Landry in Espanol.
- 14:49But where do those two things really meet?
- 14:53If it's in the middle, if it's on one end or the other, but like, where are we trying
- 14:58to go in general with that?
- 15:00Because a lot of the listeners are going to want to know, okay, rabbi, you intro'd it.
- 15:04Yeah, they've been listening the past couple years, but now a brand new YouTube channel,
- 15:09it's doing really well and is reaching people internationally.
- 15:15Where are we going to go with this?
- 15:16Okay.
- 15:17So let's bring the scripture in.
- 15:20And this was the scripture that, listen, I had Matthew 24, you know, as somebody who
- 15:27ministers in Israel with Jewish people and understanding the connection to blessing Israel
- 15:34and the end times prophetic fulfillment of things in Israel, Matthew 24, red letter Jesus
- 15:42says verse 14, and this gospel of the kingdom.
- 15:47And that in itself is loaded because we don't just preach like some denominational gospel
- 15:52for 33 years now, this is my 33rd year, but the gospel of the kingdom, and we've always
- 15:59preached kingdom, and it says, will be preached.
- 16:03So Jesus says, Jesus is prophesying here, He says, it will be preached in all the world
- 16:08as it is written to all nations, and then the end will come.
- 16:13So everyone's wanting the rapture, people wanting the Lord to come, but the key is this
- 16:18gospel of the kingdom, the real gospel needs to be preached to all the nations, then the
- 16:24end will come.
- 16:25So I shared earlier in the podcast that, you know, according to statistics, over 1 billion
- 16:31people have not heard the gospel.
- 16:34So that's kind of my foundation is, listen, I understand the ministry of Is to the Jew
- 16:39First.
- 16:40We published my book, Reclaiming Our Forgotten Heritage in Hebrew.
- 16:44Man, you talking about some pushback on that.
- 16:47In fact, the pushback even got us on to the Jerusalem Post here recently.
- 16:53And so I was laughing with the kids, with Paul and Megan, I said, we finally made it
- 16:58to the Jerusalem Post.
- 16:59But of course, it was a negative article about having our book in Hebrew and soldiers getting
- 17:05it, loving the book and the testimony of it.
- 17:08But anytime you do something where you're actually fulfilling Matthew 24, 14, you're
- 17:15preaching the gospel to all the nations.
- 17:17You know, the scripture is very clear that the inheritance, I'm just going to be kind
- 17:21of theologically here, you have to understand the real inheritance for a Christian is not
- 17:28material goods and things, although he fulfills his covenant by providing those things.
- 17:33But the real riches is the nations.
- 17:37And so it's the ethnos, it's the people of the earth.
- 17:42So the fact that to me, time is short, and the only way for us to get to the nations
- 17:49of the earth is with AI.
- 17:51And so it's here, we're going to harness it, and we'll try to keep it as pure and holy
- 17:57as we can with the content that flows in.
- 18:00We'll guard the content that's there.
- 18:03But man, what an accelerator of content to preach the gospel to those who are lost.
- 18:09So I answered the question a long way with the scripture.
- 18:12There's more scriptures than that.
- 18:14But anyway, I feel as a spiritual father, I have a mandate to share the good news.
- 18:22Rabbi, in a few moments, I really want you to jump into the month of Shavuot and how
- 18:29that really plays biblically into what we're doing here, especially with Kurt Landry in
- 18:35Espanol.
- 18:36But Tucker, let's bring you back in on this.
- 18:38So Rabbi broke down the biblical side of spreading the gospel and looking at AI and using it.
- 18:48Where do you sit, kind of in the middle of the digital marketing side, also with the
- 18:54content and using these tools to really reach more souls?
- 19:01So yeah, I mean, I think first off, all press is good press.
- 19:07That's a marketing thing.
- 19:08I stand by that.
- 19:09So hey, even if it wasn't a great article, hey, you made it into the paper.
- 19:12Okay, so let's celebrate that.
- 19:15Amen, right?
- 19:17So now, and it's true to a point, especially in 2024 now, I mean, it's just divisive marketing
- 19:25everywhere.
- 19:26So anyway, speaking specifically to AI, so I think that these tools at our disposal,
- 19:35the way I look at it, and my take is, even as someone who's worked in this field for
- 19:40a long time, is this, having seen what's coming and what's been built so far and just being
- 19:47very close to the subject, there's a lot of pushback and hesitancy from a lot of different
- 19:53people, and especially those in church and religion and the ministry.
- 19:59Some of it is fear out of being replaced.
- 20:02Some of it is, you know, people are going to, AI is going to take jobs, right?
- 20:06That's like the age old tale.
- 20:08Some of it is hesitancy around whether or not it goes against what God's teachings or
- 20:15if it's at its root, something that is, you know, evil or should not be explored by the
- 20:23church.
- 20:24Now, I look at AI as, regardless of the intent behind the technology, it's, as we know, especially
- 20:32after last year with OpenAI releasing chat GPT and then generative AI becomes this like
- 20:38household term, it's here to stay.
- 20:41So my take has always been, if the technology exists and it's not going away, it's not a
- 20:47fluke, it's not just a phase, it's not a fad, and that's been, I think, proven over the
- 20:53past year especially, then how can we use that technology?
- 20:59You know, it's really not a question of how, even, I mean, we have to look at how, but
- 21:02it's really a question of, you know, it's not a question of how, it's really more a question
- 21:12of when we can begin implementing so we don't fall behind the curve.
- 21:16And I know that sounds, you know, for the industry we're in, for what we're doing here
- 21:20as a ministry, it's a unique vantage point, it's a unique perspective, but I think it
- 21:25still applies even from a marketing perspective to some degree that we need to stay, at least
- 21:34keep pace with these technologies to sort of keep up with whether it be, you know, bad
- 21:41actors that are trying to spread negative messages, for example.
- 21:45I think that what we're doing here is trying to spread that positivity through AI and yes,
- 21:48we can reach new languages.
- 21:50Curt Landry and Espanol is a great example of that, right?
- 21:54We're seeing new subscribers come in all because all we did was use an AI tool that uses a
- 22:00natural language processor.
- 22:02It hears what you're saying, Rabbi, it translates that to Spanish in your own voice and then,
- 22:08you know, produces that video.
- 22:09And because of that, now we're reaching new people with the message.
- 22:12It's a positive message.
- 22:14It's a good message.
- 22:15And I think that, so this long-winded answer is to say it's a tool that I think we really
- 22:20need to harness regardless of the take because it's here to stay and those that don't adopt
- 22:28it and I talk, I mean, I've said this to artists, to musicians, all these people that are very
- 22:32scared that they're losing jobs.
- 22:34It's not about replacing.
- 22:36It's really just about augmenting their ability and changing their workflow.
- 22:41And this has been done.
- 22:42I mean, every revolution in, especially in America and in the world that's happened,
- 22:48whether it be the industrial or whatever, there's always been a shift in workforce to
- 22:53sort of a new tech, to support a new technology, a new way of life, a new, you know, engineering
- 22:58process.
- 23:00So it's not, this is not like the first time that there's been a pivotal shift in a workforce.
- 23:06And I think that we, those that embrace it to an extent will continue to flourish in
- 23:11the future.
- 23:12So that's my take on AI in general.
- 23:14I think we have to use it to remain competitive and just relevant in the world.
- 23:21So Tucker, Tucker, one thing I want to throw into this conversation and get you to speak
- 23:27on and then you and Rabbi go back and forth on it.
- 23:32But from an accuracy standpoint, I mean, we've got people on our staff that speak Spanish,
- 23:39they're fluent.
- 23:40And we've sent this to a lot of people before we went to market with it, right?
- 23:45That the accuracy in the teaching, in the message, in the tone is accurate to what Rabbi
- 23:54is saying in English.
- 23:56So that's one thing I really wanted to throw this in there because the different dialects
- 24:02and just where this content is going, I don't want people to think that we're just dubbing
- 24:11something here, right?
- 24:13It is really groundbreaking type of technology and the translation is almost a hundred percent
- 24:21accurate, right?
- 24:22I mean, there's always a little bit depending where you're actually from and what dialect,
- 24:28I like speak to the accuracy of the AI for the Curt Landry in Espanol Channel.
- 24:36And we'll be right back.
- 24:38It's a new year and a new you.

- 27:17Hey, one more thing.
- 27:20After this episode, I would love for you to go and download and listen to another podcast
- 27:26on the One New Man Network and that's called Generations at the Table with Megan Marcelino.
- 27:32This show is perfect for discovering how to grow your family in faith by knowing your
- 27:37Jewish roots.
- 27:38Megan breaks down all of her knowledge on how to unlock your family's kingdom destiny
- 27:43by honoring Yeshua.
- 27:45You can find her show on the One New Man Network on your favorite podcast app.
- 27:52All right, now back to the show.
- 27:55Yeah, I mean, it's really incredible.
- 27:59And something I always like to tell people is because everyone's so blown away by these
- 28:02technologies like this.
- 28:04So that's a natural language processor.
- 28:06It's analyzing the actual sound waves from Rabbi's voice and then it's able to replicate
- 28:10his voice based on that sort of learning those what those sound waves look like.
- 28:17And it's a really interesting technology because it feels to us like it's mastered.
- 28:21I would say it's accuracy.
- 28:22I mean, I'm not fluent.
- 28:24I don't speak Spanish.
- 28:26But in terms of just the feedback we've received and what I've seen for those systems is it's
- 28:32incredibly accurate.
- 28:34And what I love to say to people is just remember if you're blown away now, AI is today at the
- 28:41least powerful.
- 28:42It's at the worst state that it will ever be in.
- 28:44So if you're blown away now, and that's why again it leads back into this keeping pace
- 28:48and using this tool for leveraging this tool as best we can because if everyone is so blown
- 28:54away, I mean, this is just getting started.
- 28:57And that is both extremely exciting and incredibly scary.
- 29:04I can see why people are nervous because to your point, it is incredibly accurate.
- 29:10His flow, the pacing, the tonality is perfect.
- 29:14So what if I as a bad actor come in and say, hey, I'm just going to take a video clip of
- 29:19Rabbi and throw it into Hey Gen or another provider and create my own.
- 29:26And so that's where we're seeing some of those bad actors already crop up.
- 29:30A lot of celebrities have filed a lot of cease and desists against specific channels that
- 29:34are not them, Mr. Beast.
- 29:36I mean, some of the biggest creators out there are now being sort of attacked in a way their
- 29:42identity is being really attacked with these sort of fakes that have cropped up, these
- 29:48deep AI deep fakes is probably a term you've heard before.
- 29:52So it's exciting.
- 29:53It's incredibly accurate, which is again, just a little daunting as well as we kind
- 29:59of move into this uncharted territory.
- 30:01So Rabbi, I guess me and Tucker have really spoken on, I guess in that breath on the accuracy
- 30:11and just how much testing we did to make sure that this is the best that we could put out
- 30:18and that it's right.
- 30:20What was the reaction that you got from anybody that you share this with?
- 30:25What's just the feedback that you've received personally on it?
- 30:30Well, as we say in Oklahoma, when I showed it in House of David on the Shabbat service,
- 30:39we have a saying in Oklahoma that the people's face look like a cow looking at a new gate.
- 30:46And so for those that don't know what that means at Oklahoma, we have a lot of sayings
- 30:50like that.
- 30:54Their eyes are wide open, their jaws dropping.
- 30:56Listen, this is their Rabbi.
- 30:58People have known me for 20 years plus in the house watching it.
- 31:03And you've got people who are like Peggy and Max.
- 31:06It was so funny because they're in their late 70s.
- 31:09They've been with me 23 years.
- 31:12They're the hospitality pastors in House of David.
- 31:15And they're literally sitting there just staring at...
- 31:19It's messing with their head because it is so real.
- 31:24The voice inflection and what it did to Christie and I, first time we saw it, we were at the
- 31:29breakfast room table at our house and we just started laughing.
- 31:35And I'm talking about, but not laughing like it's funny, but the joy of the Lord because
- 31:39we knew this was our answer.
- 31:41Listen, I made a promise to the Lord in 1991 in Israel that I would be a voice.
- 31:48And because of the hell experience, I told you, listen, I don't want anyone going to
- 31:53hell.
- 31:54So I realized when this came, I thought, but listen, I'm entrepreneurial.
- 31:58Listen, I guess I am what...
- 32:01I don't really have labels.
- 32:04The best label I have is Rabbi, which means teacher.
- 32:07But I teach, I'm a businessman.
- 32:09You guys all know that.
- 32:10You work for me so you understand where I'm coming from.
- 32:14So I'm very entrepreneurial.
- 32:17I understand the risks.
- 32:18I've spent 33 years in Israel, the startup nation.
- 32:22I have a business in Israel.
- 32:24So I understand all the risks, but here's the thing.
- 32:29The scripture says, what you fear comes upon you.
- 32:31I'm aware of the risk, listen, we started live streaming 15 years ago.
- 32:38And when I did that and spent all the money and didn't have any money then for it, everyone
- 32:42was going, oh my gosh, that's too expensive.
- 32:46It's too risky.
- 32:47It's this.
- 32:48So I'll just give you a short story, Tucker.
- 32:50This is what happened.
- 32:51You know where we're at.
- 32:52We're out in the middle of nowhere here.
- 32:54They had fiber optic in the city of Grove.
- 32:57I asked them, I want to live stream and they laid fiber optic across sailboat bridge all
- 33:03the way out to here for free.
- 33:07Didn't charge me a dime so that we could do it.
- 33:10And so stuff like that happens.
- 33:12And the thing is, if you'll pioneer and start taking baby steps toward what God's asked
- 33:18you to do, he'll bring the provision.
- 33:20So listen, nobody is telling me that, oh, you were, you know, 15 years later, live streamings
- 33:26of the devil or it was bad, but we were criticized.
- 33:29So I think what happens is you have to extend mercy and grace to those that don't understand,
- 33:34produce the best product that you can.
- 33:37I agree with what Tucker is saying.
- 33:39AI is at the worst that it is.
- 33:41It's going to do nothing but get better.
- 33:43It's not going away.
- 33:45Listen, if you look at TBN and you look at the testimony of Jan and Paul Crouch, their
- 33:52assembly of God, when they were in Los Angeles and they started to say, hey, we're going
- 33:57to do Christian television, oh, televisions of the devil, movies of the devil, you know,
- 34:02all that assembly of God stuff.
- 34:04Well, obviously, they had to pioneer, you know, with their one chair and a shower curtain
- 34:10and look where TBN is now.
- 34:12Look how many people have been saved through just TBN.
- 34:16And they were criticized.
- 34:18And Daystar with Marcus Lamb and Joni, same thing, like anytime you're pioneering, and
- 34:24I will say this to ministers that are listening, you need to girt yourself up in holiness and
- 34:30sanctification and spiritual warfare because when you go on the airways, you're battling
- 34:35the prince of the air.
- 34:36Who's the prince of the air?
- 34:37Satan.
- 34:38So you're battling Satan himself.
- 34:40But the thing is, when we prayed for like three years before we did the live stream
- 34:4415 years ago, we have prepared for AI for three years.
- 34:49And I knew that once we launch with this, that, you know, the enemy's there's going
- 34:53to be pushback.
- 34:54But you have to go back to Jesus on the cross, you know.
- 35:00What's the biblical significance of the number three?
- 35:03Well, three, the most powerful of the number three in Hebrew, it's Salosh.
- 35:10And what it means is actually, it talks about it in Ecclesiastes, Solomon.
- 35:16He said, one, is easily overtaken, two, not so easy, but a threefold cord's not easily
- 35:21broken.
- 35:22So anytime you have God in your life, body, soul, and spirit, God the Father, God the
- 35:27Son, the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, anytime you're in, and three is also covenant.
- 35:33So when you're in covenant with God and you're in agreement with Him, then if God
- 35:40be for you, who can stand against you?
- 35:42So you're more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus that gives you strength.
- 35:46And so, but in order to pioneer stuff like this, I'm going to do some teaching and
- 35:512024 on pioneer spirit.
- 35:53I've actually got some friends who are pioneers that have pioneered some things and I want
- 35:57to talk, interview them on this podcast.
- 36:00But when you're a pioneer, you have to be able to have the fear of God, love those who
- 36:06don't understand you and persecute you.
- 36:08Listen, don't argue with them.
- 36:10Just love them.
- 36:11They're not there yet.
- 36:12Knowing that most likely, kind of like Joseph's brothers in the Bible, they thought that they
- 36:18killed him.
- 36:19They didn't know that he went into slavery.
- 36:21But if you get to the end of Genesis, it says, what the enemy meant for bad, the Lord meant
- 36:25for good to bring life to many.
- 36:28So Joseph was reunited with his family and everybody was saved and prospered by Joseph's
- 36:34separation for a time.
- 36:37And here's the key is, we're not going to argue with people over whether or not AI is
- 36:42good, bad or indifferent.
- 36:43We're going to produce good content, use it for the good of the kingdom and for souls.
- 36:48And like everything else we do in Curt Landry Ministries, we'll do it with the level of
- 36:53excellence that we're capable with, with the resources and the talent that we have, because
- 36:58we do our work as unto the Lord.
- 37:01I feel really good about this.
- 37:03Listen, for those that are listening, and I'm not naive to the counterfeits and all
- 37:08the pitfalls in this, but what you have to do is trust God, have the firewalls and do
- 37:15what you can do.
- 37:17Hire good people like Daryl and Tucker and I got Nathan here and Stefan.
- 37:24We just have a great group.
- 37:26And here's the thing is, I know for a fact for all of us at House of David, we're a voice.
- 37:32We're called to do this.
- 37:34And I'm rejoicing with the Lord that, you know what, someday all of us and all the Curt
- 37:41Landry Ministry partners in House of David, you're going to meet Jesus.
- 37:47And when you do, you want to hear like I want to hear, well done, good and faithful servant.
- 37:55And then I really believe because of a visitation I had in heaven one time, I believe he's going
- 38:00to introduce you and say, I want you to meet your brothers and sisters that because of
- 38:05you they're here.
- 38:09And I hope that you see a line that goes all the way out to the horizon and every partner
- 38:16that sows a seed into Curt Landry Ministries.
- 38:21When someone gives their life to the Lord through this technology and through all the
- 38:24things that we do, your name is going to be in that book.
- 38:30Powerful.
- 38:32That's so good.
- 38:35Tucker, from your perspective, looking at just marketing and digital marketing and creative
- 38:44marketing, just that whole realm of the internet, to you is using AI to say translate in different
- 39:00languages, is that one of the main avenues that you kind of think that we're all heading
- 39:07towards in terms of spreading the gospel and utilizing technology?
- 39:13Yeah, Darrell, that's a good question.
- 39:17I think it's absolutely a strong use case for AI.
- 39:21I think that technology exists.
- 39:23It's almost a place where I would call perfected.
- 39:27And clearly there is value to being able to convert the message, the gospel, to all these
- 39:34different languages and then present it not only just as a dub, but presented in rabbis
- 39:39like actual tonality and inflection to those people in different languages.
- 39:45I think that's super powerful.
- 39:46I also think that as having been in AI for a while, it's almost like a smaller use case
- 39:55in terms of AI.
- 39:56So that sort of segues perfectly into something that's been on my mind a lot lately when we
- 40:01talk about AI in the church is, Rabbi, do you feel like there's a threshold or maybe
- 40:09a limit to like a line to how much involvement AI, like how much involvement the AI should
- 40:17have in the church?
- 40:20Is there, even if something is used in a positive way, is there still something that would cross
- 40:26a line?
- 40:27I want to give you a few examples before you respond.
- 40:30So the language translation to me is pretty neutral.
- 40:35I feel like that will be well received by most.
- 40:38Now there's already a few others out there.
- 40:40So a ministry out in, I believe, California has created something called Bible GPT.
- 40:48It's a spin off of chat GPT, except it was only trained on different versions of the
- 40:52scripture of the Bible.
- 40:54And when you ask it a question, it's a chat bot, right?
- 40:57You could ask it any question and it responds in accordance with how it's been trained.
- 41:02Now, just real quick, LLM, large language model, it's just trained on a vast amount
- 41:08of data or a very specific amount of data that you feed to it.
- 41:12So this AI platform system has been trained on different versions of the Bible and then
- 41:20will respond in accordance.
- 41:22Is that, you know, that's one example of how AI is being used or has been brought into
- 41:28the church.
- 41:29Is it something like that is too far or is that still, if it's being used for good and
- 41:35it's spreading the word and helping people devote themselves and rediscover and maybe
- 41:39even like dive deeper into what is being said in the Bible, is that still something you
- 41:44would consider as a positive for the church?
- 41:47Yeah, I think it's positive.
- 41:49And I know that in our own experience, like what we're really working on is keeping the
- 41:57top of funnel content.
- 42:01For me, it has to be our content and it really has to be pretty pure.
- 42:06Now, as far as putting the Bible into that content, I have no problem with that.
- 42:13And so what they're doing there is they're putting in different translations and things.
- 42:18So it would, and I don't know, I'm not familiar with this ministry, but it would have to be
- 42:26the proper theological and doctrinal correct translations based off what your ministry stands
- 42:33for.
- 42:34You know, that's their responsibility.
- 42:35It's not mine.
- 42:36No, it's not crossing a line for me.
- 42:40You know, one of my heart's desires is to do devotionals that are actually with our content
- 42:50to where people who are saying, okay, I filled out the goals to grow by, okay, and I have
- 42:59written my top three goals and I've also written what I fear.
- 43:04Like, let's say I have a fear of failure.
- 43:08I have rejection, okay.
- 43:11I have an orphan spirit.
- 43:13I don't have a high self-worth.
- 43:15Okay.
- 43:16So the way to deal with those issues is to have a devotional that is actually targeted
- 43:23on the weaknesses of your life.
- 43:25And if you'll feed on those scriptures and those devotionals, what happens is then you
- 43:30spend your devotional time in anointed transforming scriptures and devotional wisdom to how to
- 43:38apply it to overcome and transform the fear into faith.
- 43:42Okay.
- 43:43So I'm just telling you, that's where we're going with it, but that's going to be, so
- 43:48to say, content that we're approving of and putting in.
- 43:53So I don't want to say, I guess my biggest concern, and we're not going to do this here,
- 44:04but for other people, you could get real lazy with AI and say, hey, listen, I want to write
- 44:08a book.
- 44:10And you can just go and basically have the AI write a book, next thing you know, you're
- 44:14sitting there and here's my book.
- 44:18I'm not going to do that.
- 44:19I understand how it works.
- 44:21I mean, I could crank out with all my material.
- 44:23Listen, we have 20 years of recorded material here, so thousands of hours of material.
- 44:31But the point is, is that I think that's an integrity issue, but I think each person has
- 44:36to say that.
- 44:38So for me, we're not going there.
- 44:40But the personal devotional for people, absolutely.
- 44:44Because I understand that you have to face your fear, identify your fear, put scriptures
- 44:49that allow you to overcome that fear, and devotionals to know how to apply the wisdom.
- 44:54And we're going to do that.
- 44:56Podcast at Curtlandry.com, send your questions, just make sure that you put a title on the
- 45:01subject line.
- 45:03Anything that we discuss, especially Curt Landry in Espanol, if you're listening and
- 45:08you want to share that with someone, we'll put the link to that YouTube channel in the
- 45:12show notes description of this episode.
- 45:14So Rabbi, before we end this discussion, and I'm sure we're going to have many more podcasts
- 45:21talking about this.
- 45:23But before we get there, let's talk about what this month is.
- 45:27It's the month of Shavat.
- 45:29And how does that correlate to the discussion right now?
- 45:34Okay.
- 45:35And you'll enjoy this, Tucker.
- 45:37So if you go into, in fact, one of the things I'm bringing into my own personal life is
- 45:43bringing the Hebrew month and then the first Friday of the Hebrew month, I'm going to
- 45:48be doing teaching on that month.
- 45:50And so that people can kind of experience like how their life actually, you can look
- 45:56back over 2023 and look at the Hebrew months for each one of them mean, and you can look
- 46:01back and say, oh my gosh, my life actually kind of had a similar trending according
- 46:07to God's calendar.
- 46:09And so, but this month, like we're having this discussion, the month of Shavat, it's
- 46:14interesting that you all guys all know the story in the Bible.
- 46:20So you have Moses, 40 years in the wilderness, all right?
- 46:23He's 40 years in the wilderness.
- 46:25And now he's at the month of Shavat.
- 46:29What does he do?
- 46:31He literally gets 600,000 men.
- 46:36He puts them in one place.
- 46:38And he, it says in the Talmud and in the Bible, it alludes to, but the Talmud goes into great
- 46:43length about that.
- 46:44And the Talmud is basically Hebraic rabbinical commentary.
- 46:50Okay?
- 46:51So, it's not inspired, but it comes from our rabbis that are orthodox and very well
- 46:57taught.
- 46:59But also in the Bible, we know that this event happened.
- 47:03So this is roughly about 30 days before he goes on to go to heaven.
- 47:08They're getting ready to go into the promised land.
- 47:10So he says, listen, in order for you to go on the promised land, I want to give you some
- 47:15oral communication.
- 47:16It's called the oral law.
- 47:18And what he does is Moses speaks to 600,000 people in 70 different languages.
- 47:24And we don't know how he did that.
- 47:26But it was so important that basically from the Father's heart, this is what Moses was
- 47:32doing.
- 47:33Listen, you're going into the promised land.
- 47:35I'm not.
- 47:36You're going in with Joshua and Caleb, but this is what you need to understand not just
- 47:41to get into the land, but how to stay in the land.
- 47:45And so, he gave oral communication of the law in 70 different languages.
- 47:51So this month, Shavat is kind of like the modern day AI.
- 47:59So when all this discussion of us launching Kurt Landry Espanol and Shavat and all these
- 48:04conversations, I thought to myself, see, here's another thing that's happening.
- 48:09Because you can go through and follow with House of David, Kurt Landry Ministries.
- 48:14You can follow the spring feast, and then you can follow the fall feast.
- 48:19And you'll learn a lot and grasp a lot of downloads because all of a sudden now God's
- 48:24seasons and patterns become your seasons and patterns.
- 48:28Create intimacy and understanding with God.
- 48:31But if we do it every month, which I'm planning on doing, it was so powerful being at House
- 48:36of David talking about Shavat, okay?
- 48:39Moses translating, speaking to people in 70 different languages.
- 48:44And then at the end of the service, I brought up the video of Kurt Landry Espanol.
- 48:49And that's when everybody was looking at like a cow at a new gate.
- 48:54All right.
- 48:55So that's Shavat.
- 48:58We'll link that in the description so you can watch that.
- 49:02Tucker, Rabbi, we have made it to the end of this episode.
- 49:06Tucker, one thing that we do for people that's made it to the deep end is what I call right
- 49:12up towards the very back end is we do something real quick.
- 49:16It's just final thoughts.
- 49:18We'll start with you.
- 49:19What's your final thoughts on this?
- 49:21Well, again, I just, I think it's so exciting to see Rabbi, you know, to see you embrace
- 49:29this technology and just to be so optimistic and positive about the future and how we can
- 49:33really put a positive spin on this to reach new hearts and new minds with the gospel,
- 49:39with your message, with our vision for all of humanity, which is of course to really
- 49:45canvas the whole world with the message of God and advance his kingdom.
- 49:49I think it's such a cool opportunity and a great thing to be a part of.
- 49:54So I'm just, I am blessed and very thankful to be a part of this endeavor.
- 49:59I think it will be really interesting.
- 50:01Again, I always love to say, I said it earlier, AI is the worst that it will ever be right
- 50:05now.
- 50:06So as we move into the future, I am very excited for the opportunities that will come from
- 50:11this technology and from us embracing this technology.
- 50:15You know, you look at church tech today findings, you know, that 43% are still uncomfortable,
- 50:22you know, using AI in the church and there's a lot of pushback.
- 50:25But I think that with every innovation, with every single piece of technology that has
- 50:31came out, there has been that sort of initial pushback.
- 50:34So I think that together we can work on really educating the church community and ministering
- 50:43to sort of the masses that this can be used for positive and we will work hopefully at
- 50:48the forefront of developing those solutions.
- 50:51So very excited.
- 50:52Thank you guys again for having me here today.
- 50:53I've really enjoyed it.
- 50:55Yeah.
- 50:56Well, thank you, Tucker.
- 50:57Listen, I'm totally in agreement with you.
- 50:59Here's the thing.
- 51:00And this is, I'm speaking to my staff right now.
- 51:04We have to stay humble.
- 51:06We have to understand why we're doing it.
- 51:08We have to understand we're called to do it.
- 51:11Every good and perfect gift comes from Him.
- 51:13We need to do our work as unto the Lord, but we also need not to get offended or have issues
- 51:19with people that disagree what we're doing.
- 51:22And we need to be like Clydesdale, so to say, put the blinders on, keep marching ahead.
- 51:29And some of the fear of this will pass.
- 51:31Listen, there will be bad stuff that happened with it.
- 51:34We live in a fallen world, but let's stay positive, love people.
- 51:40And we just recently put in two water wells with the Elijah List with Steve Schultz, his
- 51:48ministry.
- 51:49We put two wells in, CLM did, and they sent me a video.
- 51:53And here's these little kids and they're playing in the water.
- 51:55They're drinking the water.
- 51:56And it is just so, so special.
- 52:00So what you have to look at as AI is this.
- 52:02Listen, there's technology with satellites now that Elon Musk is doing.
- 52:07And he's already had proof of concept.
- 52:09I don't know how much people know about it.
- 52:12But basically, these satellites are going to allow us to be able to go to those kids
- 52:17at that well with a very simple device.
- 52:20And even though they can't have cell phones, they can have this device and we can bring
- 52:26the gospel of the kingdom to them with those devices.
- 52:31And that's probably about 12 to 24 months out.
- 52:34So we would actually buy the devices, give it to the kids.
- 52:37It's like, here's your water and here's your water in the spirit.
- 52:41So I'm so excited.
- 52:44And I'm excited to see that these little babies that are in Africa and in India and all the
- 52:51different places of the world, that they'll hear the good news and they'll be in heaven
- 52:55with us and not in hell.
- 52:56Tucker, Dane Levy.
- 52:58Hey, Tucker, thanks for taking a little bit of your extremely busy day to join us and
- 53:04be the first guest on the Curt Landry podcast.
- 53:07Yeah, thanks for having me, Daryl.
- 53:11Anytime.
- 53:12Okay, Rabbi, well, this was a good episode.
- 53:15I know we're going to talk about it more as people listen and download, especially this
- 53:20episode to get biblical truth on artificial intelligence.
- 53:27So I'm super excited.
- 53:29Again, anything that we've discussed in this episode, you can just go to the show notes
- 53:35in the description of this episode and we'll have links for that.
- 53:38Rabbi, it was a pleasure.
- 53:41Until next time.
- 53:42Thank you.
