- 0:11Hello, my name is Johannes and I'm character Clough and welcome
- 0:15to to introduce our guest star on Muppet fan podcast presented
- 0:18by suffix.com in this show Jared and I are taking it in turns to
- 0:22surprise each other with this discussed and this week, hey,
- 0:25it's my turn again. So Jared you have no idea what
- 0:29this is. Correct.
- 0:30Not a clue. Not a clue.
- 0:31I'm real antsy because it's so it's the last episode for the
- 0:34season, and you promised me a good guest for a finale.
- 0:40That's right. My head's been my head's been
- 0:41swimming with ideas. So I assume it's a giant
- 0:46Hollywood star but I guess we're going to find out I guess.
- 0:50So you're gonna have to ask some questions to figure out if it's
- 0:53a star and if so, which started is so go ahead, ask away, all
- 0:57right. Well, I thought as we always do
- 1:00Do Muppets Sesame or Henson Muppets?
- 1:06Okay. Is this person a puppeteer?
- 1:12Yes, and no. Oh God.
- 1:17That doesn't help me. Okay?
- 1:20I had this person work with the Muppets in the last Ten years?
- 1:26Yes, yes, has died. Has a, that's good English.
- 1:31Have they has, they has they work with the Muppets.
- 1:35Have they worked with the Muppets and last five years.
- 1:40Yes, okay. Well I know this person
- 1:45predominantly as a puppeteer Yes, and no.
- 1:50Okay, you are you are not helping me whatsoever.
- 1:53No, I'd because I really don't want you to get this.
- 1:56Okay. Collect collect rolling.
- 1:57Do not even have a remote guess at the moment.
- 2:02All right, you know what, Joe? Well, I truly have no idea.
- 2:13I'm going to I'm going to take a wild stab even though I only
- 2:15know this person as a puppeteer but they came Mind.
- 2:19As I was having my breakfast this morning.
- 2:22Dave Redmon. Hmm, great and incorrect.
- 2:26Guess. Yeah.
- 2:27It was wrong. Let's go Jared.
- 2:29Let me tell you one of our guests today.
- 2:31That's right. We've got two guests.
- 2:34Oh my God. Alright, what one of our guest
- 2:36is a children's book author and illustrator, who once filled a
- 2:39tray of full of water, on Miss Piggy and Joan Rivers.
- 2:42Our other guest has been a dinosaur, a lounge, singer a
- 2:45piano, playing dog, and a king prawn together.
- 2:48ER, our guests have been hosting regular video and podcast series
- 2:51with interviews with Muppet related luminaries Jared.
- 2:54I am extremely proud to introduce our guest stars, Jean
- 2:57Beretta and Bill Beretta better known as the Beretta Brothers.
- 3:02Oh my gosh, to guess it's gonna be so much harder to edit how I
- 3:09missed a Beretta. Hello, I'm a writer so many
- 3:12parameters to many seeing wi you guys.
- 3:18You're the cell. The second Jared I know that you
- 3:21were, well, I mean, I don't make puppets as well as the other
- 3:25Jared. Are you gonna do what you gonna
- 3:28do? How are you guys?
- 3:29This is this is the first time we've had two guests on it.
- 3:32Once it's going to be hell for me to edit, but what's wrong
- 3:34with your voice? It's I'm Australian.
- 3:37That's, that's what it is. People been asking you that for
- 3:42years actually? Wait, why do you sound like
- 3:44that? Do you know it's funny to say
- 3:45that bill I was at work a couple of weeks ago And I had a
- 3:48customer. Tell me.
- 3:49I had the most irritating voice that ever heard.
- 3:51No, yeah. So, just shrill enough to hear
- 3:55what they sound like. Yeah, I was gonna say you're
- 3:58still a bit vulnerable in myself for a while.
- 4:02Was it Gilbert That's it.
- 4:40Unbelievable. I was on a podcast, not long ago
- 4:44where the whole can see, who was that, we're like chatting over
- 4:48lunch. So we're eating while we talk
- 4:50and we're like, this is gonna sound horrible.
- 4:51It's just a kind of magic that's good, but that's okay.
- 4:54That's your, that's your thing. That's your show.
- 4:57You can do whatever you can, do whatever you want recording.
- 4:59Yeah, you're a guy. Yeah.
- 5:01Yeah. We're going to put all this in
- 5:02Jane. He's now you're drinking the
- 5:07juice of all. It's really what were you?
- 5:11What were you eating? Because our listeners are going
- 5:13to want to know since I can't see you.
- 5:15You could be eating anything right now, you know what does it
- 5:17matter? They got to chew and then you
- 5:19could talk. Don't go.
- 5:20Please shish kebab. Yeah.
- 5:24No it was just here. Slices of cantaloupe pineapple.
- 5:30Okay. Okay, Jesus.
- 5:35So yeah guys, I'm gonna be so comfortable.
- 5:46You want to eat and bills have a nice drink?
- 5:50Time to make something sounds, he's making his own Foley right
- 5:54now. Yeah, great.
- 5:56I'll really jack up the sand. When we do that, we have, we
- 6:00started already. Yea, we bang.
- 6:02I'm gonna put in most of this thing, real quick.
- 6:10Little video part. I mean podcast blog, whatever
- 6:13you call it a little. Huh.
- 6:17What's the most of them? Have you have you had like
- 6:23little moments where things have just sort of gone wrong.
- 6:25We all joke always has done, is it's become a running thing
- 6:33where the technical shit was like, just everywhere, for at
- 6:37least the first couple months, we went through two different
- 6:42three. Well, two different, technical
- 6:45Crews. And then we took it over
- 6:47ourselves and add our own problems and So, she needs
- 6:51through every episode. Well, yeah, the fastest thing.
- 6:55Yeah, yeah. Well, you've also you've done
- 6:58episodes where you've had like how many guests on it once
- 7:02already? If I - or Z5 that was?
- 7:05That's insane chaotic. It was so stupid, but it was fun
- 7:09when we do this is over, there were 45 people who made
- 7:12dinosaurs. Oh my God, I thought it was just
- 7:14like 12, guys. In a back of a van.
- 7:16No, there weren't 45 there. Weren't 45 dinosaurs.
- 7:20David but that I believe actually I think there was 130
- 7:24people or something was our crew.
- 7:25I think. You might be wrong about that
- 7:28but somewhere around there. Yeah, everybody that worked on
- 7:32it. You know.
- 7:32So it wasn't even clearly everybody but it was a pretty
- 7:37good group. I thought we had a nice
- 7:38representation of the different departments in groups that help
- 7:41at all come together, you know, and starting with Alex Rockwell
- 7:45being on a plane with Jim, you know, talking about the idea to
- 7:49Brian then carrying it on, you know, and being 28 years old and
- 7:54running a company. You know, it was it was great.
- 7:56And then all the From people that were and that was the
- 7:59thing, right? Jean.
- 7:59Everybody was so excited to do it.
- 8:02They were like, how we going to do this problem, even Brian
- 8:04said, you're insane. There's no, why are you doing?
- 8:07This is too many people how this is going to happen but we
- 8:12figured it out. I thought it went pretty well.
- 8:14What's it been like for you? Then with I mean to show ended
- 8:19early 90s and then also people. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 8:23Had sort of forgotten about it a little bit.
- 8:27And then, all of a sudden, it comes back on Disney plus, and
- 8:29there is a massive Resurgence of just love for the show.
- 8:33So, what was that like for you? Say, 25. 30 years later.
- 8:36Well, you know, I knew that we were having an anniversary that
- 8:40was coming up so June and I had been talking about it before the
- 8:45Disney plus stuff right before it came on there and we're
- 8:48trying to figure out how can we coordinate it with them a little
- 8:51bit? But I mean I, you know, I still
- 8:55get to play cards occasionally. Some of the folks from the show
- 8:59we've been doing playing for 30 years.
- 9:01You know, the same, some of the same performers.
- 9:03And so for me it was just getting to see what the hell.
- 9:08It's like, it's like it's his birthday.
- 9:10Look at the smile on his face. He's got it all.
- 9:12Father I really love this stuff. Yeah, I got a roaster.
- 9:16Yeah, yeah. That's James hands hands.
- 9:21The artist, I don't like such a super, super talented guy.
- 9:26Huge Muppet fan. And I mean, it's one of those
- 9:28things where like, there's not enough Muppet merchandise in the
- 9:30world. I think we all can probably
- 9:32agree with that. Yeah, especially the, the b-list
- 9:35characters like we got a lot of Kermit and piggy out there, but
- 9:38like, where's my real stuff and so, you know, I had to get it
- 9:42had to have it, but I like that characterization of him.
- 9:45I like him, with his eyes closed.
- 9:47Yeah, well, he's rolling on the floor laughing.
- 9:49That's what he's doing. Yeah, he's waffling.
- 9:53Yeah. Anyway, nobody can see my shirt
- 9:54right now but you can imagine and it's great.
- 9:57What Bo, sorry what we were talking about?
- 9:59We'll talk about the rest of resurgence of love, for Donna's.
- 10:01Hello. Yeah.
- 10:02Well, I, she's, you know, I was just happy the people still like
- 10:08it and they get to see these episodes.
- 10:09Again, I know I started watching them again.
- 10:11When they came about gone because I hadn't seen them in
- 10:13years and it was fun to go. Oh God, you know, or to go, oh
- 10:18my God, that's amazing. You know, really great.
- 10:22Watch writing. I watched dinosaurs back when it
- 10:25was originally on, ABC, back in the A day.
- 10:27And then, I had also kind of like, you know, put on the back
- 10:30burner for years. I mean, also because I didn't
- 10:32have access to the episodes. And then when it was on, I
- 10:34think, Hulu years ago when I was like, great, I'm gonna re-watch
- 10:38the whole show, you know, get a new appreciation of this thing
- 10:41and I didn't know about how first of all, how smart the show
- 10:44was. I thought I was just playing
- 10:46gonna be like, it's like The Flintstones, but puppets
- 10:48considered, you know, right? It's a cartoon.
- 10:51But it's such a great pest niche of what a sitcom is, and I
- 10:55called like the very special episodes.
- 10:57And the life lessons that are kind of dumb.
- 11:00And like, I'm just smart smart show.
- 11:02I really hope that people like they're not familiar with
- 11:04Dinosaurs or if they think it's just another sitcom, they give
- 11:07another chance because it does. Yeah.
- 11:09Me too. Hopefully it's, you know, people
- 11:11go, oh, it's just puppets and stuff.
- 11:12But I mean, just the animatronic characters were gray and, you
- 11:16know, just think of BP Richfield what a great character just.
- 11:20Oh yeah, just from beginning to end.
- 11:22You know, it just perfect everything came together
- 11:25perfectly for that character and There's there's a lot of them,
- 11:28you know, but the writing was amazing writing was just great
- 11:32when you watch it now, can you watch it with some objectivity
- 11:35or as if you're sure, you know, not even involve driving Billy.
- 11:40Could you, do you still feel every bit of connection with,
- 11:43you know, oh, that was take five.
- 11:45I know, I remember feeling sick that day and, you know, some not
- 11:50a lot. I mean what I, it's funny like
- 11:52when I, when I've been watching a few of them and when I
- 11:55remember them, I don't hear the voices of the people who did the
- 12:00voices on the show except Kevin I hear Steve doing BP Richfield
- 12:06and Robbie and I hear, you know, Mack Wilson, Dave goals doing
- 12:11Earl and Allen Troutman doing Fran.
- 12:15You know because we could I could hear them in my head.
- 12:18We had headphones inside of those heads and we could all
- 12:21communicate. And so that's the thing, I think
- 12:24that I happens the most when I watch these things.
- 12:26It's almost Most like I get thrown at first because I just
- 12:30remember the other voices, so well, and then I get used to it
- 12:34again, but I don't really remember necessarily.
- 12:37Oh, something happened at that point.
- 12:40I was just too exhausted and, and really high all the time.
- 12:45Now, I was told, it's really tired and just trying to get
- 12:51through the days, you know? Just reasonably hot spring in
- 12:55vary between takes you'd open up the Can I blow pot smoke into
- 12:58your face? Yeah, yeah.
- 13:01We gotta breathe, you know, you got to be something.
- 13:04So would they then? Would they doing the actors who
- 13:09were doing the voices? So, Jessica Walters do a plank
- 13:11and were they doing the voices to what you guys had already
- 13:14shot or you sort of mouthing along to what they've already
- 13:17done the beginning. We did a table reads where
- 13:22everybody would kind of show up and we would get to hear the
- 13:27Current actors reading those table reads of the script, but
- 13:32we didn't take those recordings or anything and work to those.
- 13:35We, you know, the guys and the gals that were performing the
- 13:39characters on the set, their voices were recorded on the
- 13:42production track and then the voices that came in to replace
- 13:48them would do that. After the edit was made, you
- 13:50know, in the ADR session but as interesting because at first, I
- 13:56think it was hard to find the balance, you know, you have
- 13:59three people doing one character.
- 14:01For example, you have me inside my representation of what I'm
- 14:05thinking. It should be that.
- 14:07I'm working out with Dave goals or Mack Wilson, who's then
- 14:11performing The Head and the voice on the set, right?
- 14:14So we've worked out what we think the performance should be
- 14:18and then it goes into, have Stewart, do it?
- 14:22And he adds his flavor and at first, I think we're like, oh,
- 14:25you know, maybe That's darn. We meant to do it this way and
- 14:28he probably thought. Why are they doing it that way?
- 14:30It should be more like this and but I think as we got to the
- 14:34second season, we all at least I know Mac and I started to draw
- 14:41from what Stuart was doing and he relaxed I think a little more
- 14:45interested what we were doing and it just found it just
- 14:48started to come together more. So we were all feeding off of
- 14:52each other you know to make it one thing which was great.
- 14:56You know, the it was so fun to see it when it was done because
- 15:00I knew what it was like watching a play back on the set but then
- 15:04to see it when it went on air it was like, oh god, look what he
- 15:06did. Look how Stewart did that?
- 15:08That's great that's that works. Better than what we did.
- 15:12You know it was just really fun to see the outcome.
- 15:16It became a seamless. It really does feel like one
- 15:19cohesive performance which is why I closed that show work so
- 15:24well especially Earl like he's such Right character, Mikey
- 15:27could have just been a, you know, Homer Simpson type, but he
- 15:31really became his own. I think he would, because he was
- 15:35based on Jackie Gleason. You know, I'm people hadn't seen
- 15:37a Jackie Gleason and a long time and, and then Stewart character
- 15:42he took from this old. He talks about it on, one of our
- 15:45shows or maybe to right Gene, he talks about that vaudevillian or
- 15:49like this, like Poconos type of performer, I can't remember who
- 15:53it was. It was some character that he He
- 15:56based his voice on and so that added another layer and he
- 16:00because he didn't want to just do Jackie Gleason, right?
- 16:03So he did this other thing that he was close to him, that he
- 16:07understood and that's what made it.
- 16:08I think really original. Yeah, but it's like that's
- 16:12something that Jerry Nelson told me.
- 16:14Once about a lot of his characters where he is doing
- 16:17impressive, bobbing. Hi.
- 16:23We can talk about that part but sorry.
- 16:25Yes. With a lot of his character,
- 16:27he's doing impressions of famous characters or famous
- 16:30celebrities, but his impressions are not really spot-on, so you
- 16:33can't really tell who he's impersonating.
- 16:35It sounds like an original character that he made up for
- 16:38this Muppet. Yeah, boy.
- 16:41He got his unbelievable, he really was using yeah, easy.
- 16:45Oh my God. That's you know, the crazy
- 16:47Guggenheim and you know, that's Lou Zealand and, you know, the
- 16:52yeah, it is great. Great characters.
- 16:55That Hampshire, he, you know, No show that they're all his yeah.
- 16:58Do you two know who crazy Guggenheim is?
- 17:00I have no, I don't think I do Guggenheim he's.
- 17:03Okay. I figured because of your age
- 17:05but he used to be a character on the old, Jackie Gleason Show up
- 17:08in the 60s and he was a bartender and he would talk to
- 17:11this mr. Gleason.
- 17:13Yeah. It was very like this, you know,
- 17:16and I think he drew from that and also who is there somebody
- 17:19else to that was the Lord that Matt knows somebody else to I
- 17:24think for Lou but I remember It was kind of a Guggenheim thing.
- 17:27At one point there was I, but I'm gonna look it up just
- 17:29because I'm curious because I know we talked about the
- 17:31interview we did with them like oh right, a decade and a half
- 17:34ago but while I'm looking it up so Jean, I don't want you to
- 17:38feel left out of this conversation, we have plenty of
- 17:41questions. I just figured he was one to
- 17:42finish the rice chicken. He was dating and they still
- 17:45eating soon as he's done. So that's really another
- 17:48question. Because I have some lunch and
- 17:50some dessert. I need to get to know.
- 17:53I refuse, we're going to we're going to ask some questions, you
- 17:55you Our storyboard artists on Muppets from space.
- 17:58Is that right? Yeah, I was one of two of them.
- 18:00Yeah, one of two of them. Did you, first of all, I'm
- 18:04curious. Did you get to keep any of those
- 18:05storyboards? And number two, how did you get
- 18:08that gig? Was it.
- 18:09Was it through bill or was, that was exactly under he's gone off
- 18:13the list. Wow!
- 18:14I think the oven rude! Yes!
- 18:18To turn the. Take the pie out of the oven.
- 18:23We it was well, yeah, we were shooting Muppets from.
- 18:26Space. So it kind of came through me
- 18:28but he's, you know, they immediately recognized that he
- 18:32was certainly qualified and he had done stuff before.
- 18:35So it was great because we got to go to Wilmington North
- 18:39Carolina and was the first time he and I had spent probably that
- 18:43much time on a shoot, you know, on a project.
- 18:47We live together for how long Gene can you hear us?
- 18:51It was just like three weeks, right?
- 18:58Are you can find out I thought you.
- 18:59So, we're looking for the storyboard.
- 19:03This is I'll edit old bat's Wing stuff.
- 19:05That really, you don't want to keep this.
- 19:06In all this time the awkward silences, we white.
- 19:10What the hell used to do right here.
- 19:16Okay, but we don't know what you mean by here, and I appreciate
- 19:24the sound effects. All right.
- 19:56Sing beautifully that we never did the beautiful singing voice
- 19:59part on the show, but he says, just the idea of this guy who
- 20:02had a boomerang fish act, it was familiar.
- 20:03Do then he talks about that who the character is not twice but
- 20:06yes, the Dopey voice on tape. Yeah, beautiful singing voice,
- 20:10Frankie content, right here you go.
- 20:11And there. And was that the same chain?
- 20:13Do you know, was that the same guy on Gleason that talk funny
- 20:16and then he would sing with this incredible voice.
- 20:22Sorry I didn't Okay, right, we got to the
- 20:37bottom of it folks. There you go.
- 20:38So wait. So Frankie Fontaine was crazy
- 20:40Guggenheim. Yeah, there you go.
- 20:42So yeah, yeah, sorry. I thought for sure the
- 20:47storyboards were just seconds away but they're not there.
- 20:51After we're finished, this album will show you great.
- 20:54Now back to G. Do you do?
- 20:56You have the, the the storyboards they do exist there.
- 20:59Yeah. I'm releasing your position all
- 21:02of them high. So I'll so yeah.
- 21:03So how did you get that gig? How what was the connection
- 21:06there to get you working on the Muppet from space?
- 21:10I've sent my all of my artwork to build Beretta and he
- 21:14Revere's. Know how you two met?
- 21:18Did you guys meet you? Yeah, it was.
- 21:22Yeah. That was the first time we saw
- 21:23each other face-to-face before that it was all My lawyers, it
- 21:29just see that was 98. So I was I came back to the
- 21:38Philadelphia area. I was living in Virginia for a
- 21:40while and I had done some Sesame Street animations.
- 21:44And so I was talking to Sesame people and then Billy was doing
- 21:49the dinosaurs thing and then he said that they're looking for
- 21:52storyboard artists for Muppets from space, so, Somehow they saw
- 21:56my work I guess I sent it through Billy.
- 21:59Yep. And and and they liked it enough
- 22:03to and I was just there, you know, I think Darren was his
- 22:07last name. Tenant, Darren didn't think
- 22:11didn't lie. Darrin Darrin.
- 22:17I'll get it. But there is, if you're labeled
- 22:19message us, let us know what your last.
- 22:21We Know Who You Are. Was he there the whole time?
- 22:26Because I see, I was only there for the first three weeks
- 22:29because I had to go home. And I had a deadline for one of
- 22:35my Sesame Street animations, and I had to finish that up.
- 22:38So I was in Wilmington for the first three weeks, one of the
- 22:43last week of, that was shooting. So, I got to see a little bit of
- 22:47shooting, but otherwise, you're doing it all that
- 22:49pre-production. So, and, and that, Was the first
- 22:53thing that you had gotten to do with with the Muppets.
- 22:55Is that is that correct? Gene officially, I mean, not
- 22:59aside from from visiting sets and stuff like that.
- 23:02Yeah, not yeah, unofficially. They were some background
- 23:05characters and things, but who remember the yeah, you know,
- 23:09every occasion background characters but the yeah, Billy.
- 23:13When did we do the Tinsel Town and all that that was after must
- 23:18have been actually? Yeah.
- 23:19So I guess that was the first official work I did with them,
- 23:22you know? Yeah, cool.
- 23:25And then you design a couple bills.
- 23:26Those Central Town characters yourself, right?
- 23:29I'm being silly stuff. You them star.
- 23:30Nice. What the fuck are you doing?
- 23:33These guys look like you design the augean Del and
- 23:47those Tinseltown characters. Yeah.
- 23:50Well first I redesigned the, the Tinseltown characters because
- 23:53they already had two that existed.
- 23:56And for some reason, they needed to, they couldn't keep those
- 23:59exact designs. So I had to really had to adapt
- 24:02them because they were next production, they were known by
- 24:06Henson. So the are the originally, when
- 24:10when Brian and I did a little demo pitch thing for Bobby and
- 24:14Sampson, it was Howard Tubman and the bowl that was used in
- 24:20Muppets tonight that Jerry did him.
- 24:24It was like a bad guy. It was, yeah, it was a Macallan
- 24:27Gordon. Yeah, yeah, right.
- 24:31So Brian who is that right? Jack.
- 24:54Yeah, but you know what, though I would give it to Ryan.
- 24:57Ryan would beat me in another trivia.
- 24:58So, I'm happy being right there in the middle.
- 25:02And by the way, speaking of that, you guys supplied us with
- 25:05all the trivia questions. Thank you very much.
- 25:07Yes, we did. Yeah, which was super fun for us
- 25:10and I know I watched the last one you did.
- 25:13I think it's like you guys gave up halfway through because our
- 25:15questions were too hard. They were really sorry, what we
- 25:20should have done, is we Ryan? I should have been on the A show
- 25:23to ask the questions because then we can kind of put because
- 25:26when we had one of our questions, which I should not
- 25:28have included, this is my fault was in Elmo Saves Christmas.
- 25:33Who is he saving Christmas from? And yeah, that's right.
- 25:36Question, if you stay because Elmo's one who ruins you make a
- 25:40wish and Christmas gets thrown in yes to save it.
- 25:43But when you don't have that context,
- 26:22Yeah, then there was late night Buffet so I didn't get up and
- 26:28see, I'm not the only bad guest. Where's he going?
- 26:33Once again, he's going to he's going to get the puppets.
- 26:36No, he make these. This is gonna work so well in
- 26:42podcast form. Yeah, I know people are so used
- 26:45to Vibe cast so so I did the late-night Perfect characters,
- 26:50the guests, and then the band. Yep.
- 26:52The and then, even though the show didn't get picked up some
- 26:57of those characters were used to projects which was nice got to
- 27:00see them, at least part of some other shows, like Late night,
- 27:03liars, and pop it up and there was another else, but not spuds,
- 27:14it's the motto. Yeah, that sounds familiar
- 27:19spuds. Yeah, there's also I think a lot
- 27:22of people don't know. Well I'll get to this in a
- 27:26second. So there's okay.
- 27:27So bill is showing us is that is it a statue of?
- 27:30So I made these out of clay because I you Them.
- 27:34Yeah, I was trying to get a sense of when we were doing
- 27:36Tinseltown. I thought I'll make this guy.
- 27:39So with this was Howard, right? This looks more like Howard.
- 27:43But then we was a great character.
- 27:44By the way, I don't hours. I love how it they really
- 27:48underutilized. Oh, Howard.
- 27:50But after time, I think Disney was a little concerned about
- 27:53using him back then. So he wasn't being used a lot.
- 27:59So, we were like, well, should we use him or should we create a
- 28:01new one? So, at the time, when we We
- 28:03first did it. We're thinking maybe we'll get
- 28:06Howard and we'll create a new character with the Howard thing
- 28:09but then we needed a Sampson. And so I this was my little
- 28:13version of wow, I'll hey is excellent.
- 28:17Do I have no idea but I'm not, I'm not, I just take out, you
- 28:23know. I just get inspired by Jean and
- 28:26so then I just try and make something but I don't know if
- 28:29I'd seen him up close. Oh really.
- 28:33Like his turtleneck, like his eyes, his eyes are really
- 28:37expressive and the used to have a little phone cord that went to
- 28:42his ear but it broke. I lost.
- 28:45No, I thought the only way Billy and I can't say what the project
- 28:51was but he and I had a project in development with Henson and I
- 28:54designed characters for that. So that's been all my design
- 28:58character design stuff and then the storyboards, and here's my
- 29:01favorite, one of my favorite subjects.
- 29:03Gene, did I have to show you the sorry?
- 29:07It's not my favorite but I think we're funny.
- 29:10Oh yeah, yeah, we're looking at something.
- 29:19I never thought I'd say you described.
- 29:23That's like a king describe it. You don't have to describe it.
- 29:26We can just leave it for you and nobody else.
- 29:29I'm leaving this. Leave it for us.
- 29:30It's a wow thing. If you want to know you can, how
- 29:34many people Allison? So you let a couple of people
- 29:37know your own little thing and grab on, say it after I saw it.
- 29:43Yeah. It's not a little either, is it?
- 29:47It's a, it's a king-size. Yeah, that's right.
- 29:53Still so Bill. The there's not much of a gap
- 29:56between your when you were working a dinosaur's doing doing
- 29:59Bodywork and you know, background characters for.
- 30:02You know, for the show two Muppets tonight when like
- 30:05suddenly you're like part of the core cast was there like an
- 30:09audition process for you or was it like them know, you're one of
- 30:11us. You've got great ideas for
- 30:12characters. You're funny.
- 30:14We're just going to put you on the show.
- 30:16No, no, no. Because we that was all.
- 30:19I was about two years later. I guess it's not a lot of time,
- 30:22but it was about to Years later. But no, it was, it was just I
- 30:26just started doing so. So after dinosaurs, you know,
- 30:30like you said, I've been kind of assisting really.
- 30:33I wasn't doing a whole lot of background characters I was
- 30:35trying to do something and I was watching and just trying to suck
- 30:38up everything from everybody, you know?
- 30:40And and so I guess cuz I got along with people, you know?
- 30:45And we were I had a great relationship with Kevin and
- 30:49Brian and Steve and it just was nice.
- 30:51And then I was just asked, Insist on something else and
- 30:55then I guess I would grab something and play around and I
- 30:59don't know, I don't know how it became whatever it became but
- 31:02then it was clueless, I guess that well actually sorry.
- 31:06No. My I think my real testing
- 31:10ground or where I learned the most was being thrown into
- 31:13animal show which was before Treasure Island the first
- 31:18season. And so that was really about,
- 31:21you know, just put on a puppet and do a new character.
- 31:25Here's another guest character and just learning how to do
- 31:28almost like live television. And so I learned a lot in a
- 31:33short period of time because I was given that opportunity to
- 31:36just create. I don't even know how many
- 31:38characters I did. I think I did 30 some characters
- 31:40or something guess that's a lot. Yeah, there's a long list of but
- 31:43with you all these years and probably too many, you know, and
- 31:47so because it was like I couldn't, I was I was literally
- 31:52running out of Voices, you know, but I the characters I could
- 31:55think of a new kind of angle or perspective, or an idea for a
- 31:58character and where they came from or whatever.
- 32:01But it was like I was doing, you know, the I would do kind of to
- 32:05hear. Hello, do go to here and then I
- 32:09do character here but it was all kind of the same guy, just
- 32:13different octaves of characters. So yeah.
- 32:17So so that was my training ground, I think and then
- 32:20clueless came along and that was fun.
- 32:22And I think they saw that I could hold my own there a little
- 32:26bit and I know clueless wasn't as written as much as he ended
- 32:30up being in the film. You know.
- 32:33It was a lot of improv going on in playing around and they used
- 32:35it. And and then we had like a
- 32:38workshop where in England before Muppets tonight started, it was
- 32:45we are finishing Treasure Island, and Brian knew that they
- 32:48were developing the show and they wanted to come up with some
- 32:51new characters to have around. And so there was this rack of
- 32:55Puppets sent, you know, to England, all different, kinds of
- 33:00just puppets. It had everybody on it, had the
- 33:02iconic characters, you know, the regular characters core
- 33:05characters and then it just had little fuzz balls with eyes and
- 33:09monsters and bears and and so we would just go into this room and
- 33:16Frank was there. And I remember he set up a well,
- 33:18we they set up a camera for us, but he basically said all right,
- 33:21all right, just grow up. You know, I do a bad Frank
- 33:24internship Precision, but those grab a grab, a puppet and we'll
- 33:29all interview, I'll ask him questions for her.
- 33:32And so, that's what we did. We just grabbed a puppet and we
- 33:35went off and he just started asking questions and out of that
- 33:39Workshop. Came Johnny Fiamma, Pepe Bobo,
- 33:44and Howard. Yeah, well wow, that was the
- 33:48Pepe Pepe puppet. Was that something that already
- 33:51exists? Because I don't know that.
- 33:53The saying that in anything else or that zone that got redesigned
- 33:56based on something you done. Yeah, no no Pepe when I'm in
- 34:00that Workshop, it was just this wire thing with a flappy wire
- 34:06mouth and two eyes. And like I think some feathers
- 34:09wrapped around the body was just a string thing and and I was
- 34:13just messing around with the character.
- 34:15I knew the cat, like I felt comfortable with the characters,
- 34:18you know? Because the character is based
- 34:19on my wife's aunt and Johnny film is based on my father and
- 34:22my And father and right so so I was, I was comfortable with
- 34:26characters but the puppets like, for example, Pepe that was then
- 34:31something that came out of discussions with Kirk and I, we
- 34:33were hanging out and talking about what Pepe could be and
- 34:37Kirk was like, maybe he's, you know, a lobster or, you know,
- 34:41crab and I said, well yeah could be, you know, he's like he's
- 34:45he's kind of manipulative guys, a little shellfish, selfish and
- 34:49Kirk. Oh yeah, shellfish, it's it's a
- 34:51crab or maybe it's a shrimp and I was No make King, bro.
- 34:54Anyway came out of that came out of discussions and then I think
- 34:58I think it was a tie. If you did the first design, I
- 35:01might be wrong for Pepe and then a guy named Eric Englehart.
- 35:07And I getting that right? Oh gosh, Eric Engel heart.
- 35:11Yes, there is wrong. Yeah.
- 35:14What was that? Yeah, right Darren's brother.
- 35:16Yeah yeah. So was yes, sir.
- 35:20Eric Engel heart. And he basically built Pepe
- 35:22there. Has no pattern.
- 35:23He just built him. Don't know how he did it.
- 35:25Yeah, but he created this beautiful character Bobo was
- 35:29already a bear who had been around in some previous thing
- 35:32Haley. Now, he's in.
- 35:34What is it? I'm just like, man.
- 35:36I'm just a Manhattan. Ya think that he's a female bear
- 35:39in that, right? And then we used him in the
- 35:43Robert Downey jr. Thing to?
- 35:45Oh yeah, mr. Willoughby's Christmas tree mr.
- 35:48Willoughby's Christmas. Yeah, he was just briefly in
- 35:50that. But yes, a Biblical meal.
- 35:53And then Howard came out of a Viking that we were using in
- 35:56Treasure Island. And so that was just grabbed off
- 35:59of the rack. And Johnny Fiamma there.
- 36:03Wasn't there was a puppet. It was a humanist.
- 36:05Puppet who looked like Charlie Rifkin who was the CEO for
- 36:08Henson at the time. And so I used him as a Johnny
- 36:12thing and thank goodness. Jane had made that monkey for
- 36:17Treasure Island who became Sal that Brian was playing around
- 36:20with. So, Yeah, they some came were
- 36:24already existed and then some like Johnny Fiamma then became
- 36:28about I sent some drawings to Ed.
- 36:31I do I have that have that somewhere guys are just loving
- 36:36all these visual examples, aren't you?
- 36:38Sorry. Right between lost weight.
- 36:40Last week, we interviewed Leslie Kerr, our Rudolph and all it was
- 36:45all just Visual and there's a lot of background noise at one
- 36:48point. Her husband was using the
- 36:49microwave. So, if so, I think it Not but
- 36:53even like humanity and environment at machine so it's
- 36:57so yes. Why not?
- 37:00It's a yes so I sent Ed I think or gay, I can remember how he
- 37:04got them but I sent him because I when Jean and I when we used
- 37:10to do Johnny Fiamma and his brother Frankie Fiamma that's
- 37:13where the character came from. Johnny I was doing as myself and
- 37:17then Jean came out to LA and and we started doing them together.
- 37:22Her. And so, I would, when I was
- 37:25doing it as a puppet years later, I couldn't see him other
- 37:30than kind of me, you know, like, I wanted to see a version of me
- 37:33in a sense when I looked in the camera.
- 37:36And I know a lot, I couldn't just do me, but then I got
- 37:39DeNiro from casino and I used a photo of him and then a photo of
- 37:44me and then Ed kind of mashed them together.
- 37:47And so, that's kind of where that design came from.
- 37:51Love it. And I love the That Jonny has
- 37:54just one eyebrow that goes up. I think it gives him so much
- 37:56character that we actually has the access to moving eyebrows.
- 38:01There's a little individual independently.
- 38:04Yeah, one is always up right on that angle usually that's his
- 38:07neutral and then I can have him do like a that kind of thing
- 38:11where it's, you know, little excuse me, a little surprised
- 38:14where I can have them. Go flat, where he's a little
- 38:16annoyed at cell either I can reverse it.
- 38:19But yeah he's got that great mechanism makes other Because I
- 38:24do normally is there's just one little thing in your pinky for
- 38:27an island or something like that.
- 38:29Yeah, it's too. It's on the rod.
- 38:32I tape it. No troll comes out of his head
- 38:35and I tape it to the hand rod and I operate one with this
- 38:39finger and one with the thumb you know, it's kind of both nice
- 38:43for. That's cool.
- 38:44Yeah. Johnny's a character that
- 38:46doesn't get used really anymore. Is that?
- 38:49Because you haven't got Brian to bounce off with Sal or Is that
- 38:53just for other reasons, is there another character you can see
- 38:56filling the Celluloid. He's well, Johnny's and saw both
- 39:01were toast there. The insides kind of
- 39:03disintegrated after so many years.
- 39:04So they had to be refurbished and they just weren't at the top
- 39:10of the list, you know, for Disney to use in anything so
- 39:13they didn't put the money into it to fix them.
- 39:15But I will say they have been refurbished.
- 39:19Oh, okay. Okay, for reasons for actual
- 39:24reasons that maybe we can talk about right now and here it is.
- 39:27I think I hope. Yeah.
- 39:29I think you know, it was just I think time to maybe try and do
- 39:34something with them if we can. And so, yeah, the new Muppet
- 39:38studio folks are into getting characters back and having some
- 39:43more fun with characters that haven't been around for a while.
- 39:45And so they were pretty nice enough to invest in that.
- 39:48So we do have them being referred to, you know.
- 39:52Well, here's my question about Johnny.
- 39:55Do you think you can work without cell or do you think
- 39:59Johnny only works as a Duo? I think so hardly.
- 40:03Salas. Johnny needs Sal desperately.
- 40:06You know. It's only can't survive.
- 40:09But if Tony Bennett asked Jonny to go on the road with Tim, he
- 40:15desk for Sal to come with him, he would need salary.
- 40:19If you too nervous to do it on his own, I think and maybe his
- 40:23mom can come to Mama or at least just send food, you know?
- 40:27But I I just think they're, they're just one they need each
- 40:32other. They both, you know, they just
- 40:34don't fit their like, genes or Gene Dean and Jerry.
- 40:39Speaking of Gene you renamed, I assumed it was you who did it
- 40:43though, but you renamed an established character after Jean
- 40:48with Behemoth who became Gene. Did you have to go like approval
- 40:51for that? Because you just do it and it's
- 40:54now, it's Cannon. It's done.
- 40:55They still don't know. They still call him Behemoth and
- 40:57I still say brilliant. It's an ongoing thing on the
- 41:00set. Yeah, I will still call him
- 41:01Jane. Isn't it Gene in the Muppet
- 41:04encyclopedia that Craig did. Yeah, it is.
- 41:07Yes, it is. I think so.
- 41:07Yeah. But it's like they say his name,
- 41:30Yeah, there's a couple of Eugene's, right?
- 41:32Yeah, there's Eugene the hunting dog that was in an emotion as a
- 41:35tuba player, right from. Right from Muppet Christmas.
- 41:41Yeah, that's pretty. It's a pretty big deal.
- 41:43That Eugene you have three characters named.
- 41:45After you, I had a zero. You have three, got nothing
- 41:50rustling whistle. I've got nothing.
- 42:02As in. Do you think you think they
- 42:06named it Jarrod? There's Jared, the corn on the
- 42:09cob, have you heard of him? I haven't.
- 42:11So I'm gonna have to I'm going to have to take your word for it
- 42:15and cry when I realize you've lied Jared.
- 42:18The corner character that will be now the will be.
- 42:21Now there's Chad, its Cannon a joke, there's a farewell of it
- 42:26passes by in one of the scenes that they call Jared.
- 42:29Oh God. Excellent.
- 42:32Well, I have I have a slight bone to pick with you Jane, if I
- 42:34can what's going on, I'm sorry, I'm sorry to have to ask you, I
- 42:41am wearing a Bugs, Bunny jamas, yes, I also have my sweatpants,
- 42:48I like them, not on Earth but yes, thank you today, have
- 42:50Bounty, they don't. But now I'm just years now at
- 42:55that. Have anything like hell Heath
- 42:57they were very expensive, right? Let's go.
- 42:59What You say white, sorry but can you just say in your
- 43:03Australian accent? What's up?
- 43:04Doc in a Bugs Bunny Voice or just as myself just as yourself.
- 43:09What's up, doc? You didn't Classics to give a
- 43:15talk that's going on, Daffy rabbit, impression for Bill and
- 43:24Jean because I know you have one rabbit impression.
- 43:27Is that what I do here? Yeah.
- 43:28Yeah yeah. There it is another that'll work
- 43:33on visual. If you want to say it I do do
- 43:34that in my in my interview with Elmo you can go and watch that.
- 43:39Okay? No.
- 43:39Like my wouldn't be. Wouldn't it be?
- 43:42What's up? Mate.
- 43:44What's up, bro? So Jane, yeah, a couple of years
- 43:51ago you Illustrated the book. Alright.
- 43:54Nails during the book and there was one particular thing that
- 43:58had a bunch of Muppets. I didn't know you and Peter are.
- 44:02Well, I just say because I was well established by that point,
- 44:06and there were other people in there, you know, Joe's in there,
- 44:08Ryan's in You know what happened?
- 44:10Dave Hall teens in there and there is no Australian.
- 44:13So if it's here's what happened, by the way, this is the bat
- 44:18combat. There was one space left and I
- 44:23asked Joe if you had any thoughts and he said, oh, I'm
- 44:25not in there yet, use me and because I had you on the list
- 44:29and he pulled his own name. And oh yeah.
- 44:31Yeah, I had fun. They're not Joe.
- 44:34So he thought Paris up. Okay.
- 44:37All right, sir. Yeah, so I don't be under the
- 44:38white team. Yeah, that's not just because
- 44:46like you thought of me and some of the fans like that, but like
- 44:50the cast of characters that are in this scene, like every
- 44:53puppets here, and Jim and Frank. And there's you through Muppets
- 44:57in there. Like, I'm so honored to be a
- 44:59part of that group. It's there are huge for me, so,
- 45:03thank you. There are a few people that I
- 45:05missed that. I didn't know that well, but
- 45:09would have nice to like Jared like in a reprint.
- 45:12Maybe I'll add a few. Frank just put me over Joe.
- 45:17Oh yeah, it's fine. I got mine.
- 45:19I'm good. Yeah, people know what I look
- 45:22like? You don't need to answer that.
- 45:23That's all right. Did you have to get like special
- 45:28permission to get like Bobo in there or was that you just did
- 45:31it? You know, I don't think anybody
- 45:32knows, there's spanked and they do now, they're going to hear it
- 45:36in this, in this podcast, I'm sending this directly to Baba
- 45:40Yaga. Yeah, I know there's or jota
- 45:43legal weasel. He's gonna.
- 45:45Yep. Everybody that I know at some
- 45:53point. Yeah.
- 45:56Every single book has, if you know me and your friends you'll
- 45:59end up in there eventually. Yeah.
- 46:01So I'll decide by the end of the interview if I like Jared and
- 46:04not. Well, do I need to do more bad
- 46:08Australian Impressions that what you need us?
- 46:10Can you do Al more fun? Thud with an Australian accent,
- 46:14all be very, very quiet night. I was much better in your life.
- 46:39If you go to Muppet, Wiki you go to my page, there's a link to
- 46:43some of the images of from those Muppet images from the book.
- 46:47Oh yeah. With a guide that tells you
- 46:49who's ooh. Yeah.
- 46:51And are so Jean. Aren't do you have your?
- 46:53Are there any storyboards on your website from what?
- 46:57Muppets from space. There's a couple of images.
- 47:00Yeah, right. Yeah, there's a few.
- 47:01All right there. Go great.
- 47:04It's in the gallery section. Yeah.
- 47:06Jane you, you right-handed for for Louis, at one point on Fox
- 47:12and Friends. Some ways, I feel like I've
- 47:17heard very, very briefly, was it a bit of a debacle?
- 47:20I've never really heard the story.
- 47:22Well, somebody else was supposed to be there that morning to do
- 47:26the hand, I want to say who and I was visiting.
- 47:29And so I just said I'll do it and so I learned that lesson.
- 47:35You know how important it is to? To be able to see a monitor.
- 47:38And I couldn't really because it was a really tight spot.
- 47:42And I was kind of between Kevin and Billy but behind them a
- 47:45little bit and I kept thinking, I've always heard that when
- 47:49Frank Oz has somebody doing his right hand, if they're too
- 47:54active, he'll grab it and just hold it still.
- 47:57So I thought I'm going to avoid that and do the professional
- 47:59thing and stay as neutral as possible.
- 48:02It just kind of leave it on the desk as much as I can.
- 48:05But I couldn't tell that when Louis would turn to his right
- 48:09and my hand, wouldn't move his whole right arm would flatten
- 48:12out against the side of the puppet and of and I kept Billy
- 48:15kept pulling my hand down and I'm wondering.
- 48:17What's you doing? Why is he pulling me out of
- 48:20there? And it was, that's what it
- 48:23wasn't that and to round it all off.
- 48:25At the end, the hosts were on the other side of Elmo.
- 48:31I will mow is between me and the hosts.
- 48:34When they reached out their hand to shake Elmo's hand.
- 48:38No, to shake loose Lisa. Sorry, I raised my hand up and
- 48:42smacked Elmo in the head even reacts to it.
- 48:47You can see Daddy and then someone calls Child Services,
- 48:52right? Yeah, it's funny.
- 48:55I have almost the exact same story.
- 48:56Not the not the second half there, but I write him in for
- 48:59Elmo once for a very short video, which no one will ever
- 49:02find and because the same thing like they just need someone, I
- 49:06happen to be in the room and I Not the same exact thing is you
- 49:09like don't overdo it and so I'm like I'm gonna hold it really
- 49:12still and I hold it so still, they might as well just glued it
- 49:16to the floor. It's like, how about his hands
- 49:18and up? And he's like talking, he's you
- 49:20know, there's other orbiting around the other hand is just
- 49:22completely still. It was a small, I'm Kevin O'Hara
- 49:27was this Kevin? Now this is, this is, this is
- 49:29Ryan era Ryan, okay, right. Yeah, yep.
- 49:32Yep. It's literally like a 30 second
- 49:35video that might be might or might not be on YouTube, so
- 49:37thank God. Wasn't a big deal.
- 49:39But I could have used to use the lesson or two before before
- 49:43going on camera. Because I'm a little next time.
- 49:54Next time. Yeah.
- 49:55What was that performance of mine?
- 49:57That allowed me to do some background puppets in Muppet
- 49:59Treasure Island's, right? It's how he was.
- 50:01Yes. Forecast, today even though
- 50:04they're only in time, maybe that hands, I need that hands on my
- 50:07show. Who was that?
- 50:09Who did Louise hand? And there was a whole cast in my
- 50:12sights on my IMDb page? Yeah.
- 50:16Well with Louis built, you know, you did that for a how many
- 50:21years and then you passed it off to the Tyler.
- 50:26Yeah, I don't know how many was it wasn't wasn't that many.
- 50:31It was really about sesame just didn't want to have to fly me
- 50:36back and forth. You know, because I live in LA
- 50:38And so, it was becoming a thing of how much they could use him.
- 50:42You know, and I didn't want to keep that from happening.
- 50:45So I, I just suggest a Tyler because I thought I don't know.
- 50:50Just thought he would do a great job.
- 50:51You know what he does on The Voice and he does sexually is
- 50:55spot-on. Like the, you can't tell the
- 50:56difference between the two he does.
- 50:58Yeah, I did a great job. So yeah, so it was just the
- 51:01unfortunate thing of just, they didn't one of, you know, I and I
- 51:04get it. I mean, I would love to have
- 51:06continued to have done it because I I love doing that
- 51:09character, especially working with Fran and Kevin and, you
- 51:13know, I was just having fun. My favorite thing actually was
- 51:18doing whatever, whichever video. I can't remember the exact one,
- 51:21but it was where Tyler plays Carmen's dad.
- 51:26Who's in a wheelchair? Yeah.
- 51:28And we had so much fun. We just had a ball in that
- 51:32Chute. But yeah, I was this wish I
- 51:35could It's kind of disappointed because here I am on the east
- 51:39coast and yet they didn't give me a call.
- 51:43Having seen the hey we thought about.
- 51:45Yeah. We thought you since you did the
- 51:46hand, you could probably do the whole character, but Tyler is
- 51:50just too good G. Okay, so here's my question
- 51:55about Louis. When when you started doing
- 51:58Louisa character, he had a mustache.
- 52:00Now Louise, got a soul patch. How does a monster with red fur
- 52:05style? Facial Hair like Trim in style
- 52:08facial hair. That's a different color.
- 52:10Can you answer this? Well, yeah, I I was born More
- 52:16Auburn, right? So, my beard.
- 52:19I mean, you can't tell now it's white in there, but, and I don't
- 52:22color my hair, but my hair on my head is brown and my beards
- 52:26always been more of a red. So I guess it can happen, right?
- 52:30Yes Fair. It's just the workshop decided
- 52:34to pull his mustache. Yeah for sure.
- 52:37Yeah yeah I just I am capable of Hair that no one will ever know.
- 52:44I think his hair changed a bit to or something.
- 52:51Well, The bit straighter a little bit
- 53:11shorter. Yeah it was, we changed it when
- 53:14we ended up, I think when we did the the god what was it called
- 53:20with the the military grieving family?
- 53:23Yeah. Video and when families when
- 53:25families grieve, I think that's when he got changed for that.
- 53:32Think so but I started Louis with the current, you know?
- 53:36I mean I think they did a couple versions of Sesame beginnings.
- 53:40He's after the military thing, too, but I know I did the first,
- 53:43I think the first one is that the one where there's like, a
- 53:46baby big bird? And a baby Elmo?
- 53:49Yeah, that's the. Something being fun.
- 53:51Yeah, I started as well. We did Potty Time, stuff like
- 53:54that. Yep songs.
- 53:56Yeah. Right.
- 53:59It's he's a pretty big puppet, too, because I know they'll
- 54:02usually be versions of the other characters are like Norton,
- 54:04quote unquote, normal home up its size.
- 54:06So the parents are like, twice that, yeah, he's pretty good.
- 54:10And you tend to like play larger characters is that like the are
- 54:14you just stronger than the other?
- 54:15Here's you can hold these things over here.
- 54:17I'm just stupid. Just the Dumber, one.
- 54:21Do you still need the harness? The bye-bye.
- 54:24Oh yeah, sure. Even more when you get older you
- 54:27yeah. Can I ask there's a thing in
- 54:31because a moment in the 2015 ABC Series where you're playing or
- 54:36Bobo like has to fall. I think he faints When you do
- 54:41that because obviously you can't just drop your arm because it's
- 54:44all you do you have to just like fall down onto a mat or
- 54:46something like that? What depends.
- 54:50I mean I don't think I've ever found on a mat with Bola but
- 54:52usually because we're standing I just tilt bend over forward or
- 54:57fall back out of the shot, you know, as best I can or squat or
- 55:01you know, it's a combination of Tilting, I guess.
- 55:05Yeah, I remember, I remember, I Muppets tonight.
- 55:09I was out there for a few days when they were shooting that and
- 55:12they were doing a show with Penn and Teller and Bobo was watching
- 55:17them. Do card tricks.
- 55:18In one of the scenes and this was before the harness.
- 55:22And so we're watching and all of a sudden, Bobo go like starts
- 55:26having the shakes and then there's drops because Billy's
- 55:29arm just completely gave out and yeah.
- 55:33I needed a break and it was bad to you used to what would happen
- 55:37is to, like all of the weight is on this part of your arm right
- 55:41with him by just underneath strength?
- 55:43Yeah, yeah. Just at the back of the car,
- 55:45vodka beer. Yep.
- 55:47Back of your wrist, kind of the top of your forearm or the when
- 55:50you get close to your wrist. But, and so, what happens is the
- 55:55to hold him up, you're pulling his nose down because you're
- 55:58trying to hold them up with your wrist, right?
- 56:01So the face to go, A flat and so, thank goodness for jinguk
- 56:06Nick. Who figured out how we do this
- 56:08and took the weight off of me and and gave him a little more
- 56:12structure, you know? So that he was not so just flat
- 56:16faced but yeah, before the harness it was just so hard to
- 56:20keep him up for very long and it was silly because I couldn't get
- 56:23through, you know, a scene. Yeah, well, and I think a lot of
- 56:27the Brilliance behind the character above 0 is probably
- 56:32because of the heart. Sore, because he's such a large
- 56:34and heavy character is that almost all the movement is just
- 56:37as mouth and a little bit of the eyes and other than that.
- 56:40He's just a huge presence that's just still, he's just taking up
- 56:44space and yeah, I don't know if that's the reason why like his
- 56:48non sequiturs, his one-liners are like they always land.
- 56:52So well, but they do every time every line that bobo has
- 56:56especially in the 2015 series, every time you open his mouth it
- 56:58was gold. It was hysterical.
- 57:00Well, you know if you look at me I'm kind of the same, right?
- 57:03I don't move a whole lot just my mouth moves and I don't say
- 57:09healthier up pretty good. So I'm most like him, but
- 57:24actually when we were doing Muppets tonight towards the end
- 57:28of it, they asked if we wanted to because they wanted to build
- 57:31him out more, you know? Give them some structure and
- 57:34they were wondering if I wanted to have his head room, you know,
- 57:38separated, so he could turn his head and I was like, please
- 57:41don't do that, because that's who he is, he for him to turn
- 57:44and look at you. He has to turn his whole body to
- 57:48see something here. We gonna do this, it's like a
- 57:51whole workout, you know, so it's kind of like me.
- 57:55Yeah. I ends.
- 57:57I mean obviously you've taken the mantle on several Jim Henson
- 58:01characters which is incredible. Does it still feel like you're,
- 58:07you're carrying the torch from gym or do you feel like in the
- 58:09ownership over Rome from dr. Teeth and the Swedish Chef
- 58:12moment. Oh God, no, no ownership
- 58:15whatsoever. None whatsoever.
- 58:17Not even not even smidge. No, because it's I didn't create
- 58:21them so it's never going to come through.
- 58:23It's not me, you know, it's, I'm just trying to Maintain the
- 58:26Integrity of it as best I can. And then if things are written
- 58:31for him to grow and change a bit, then I go with that.
- 58:33But I can't say that it's, I can't say that they're my
- 58:37characters in any way. They're, they're really just
- 58:41keeping them going. Hopefully, and people just enjoy
- 58:43them. That's why I try not to let them
- 58:46get too crazy with writing stuff for them.
- 58:49You know if I can because I just think The I just I just I don't
- 58:55trust that it's going to be organic enough you know when I
- 58:57do it and I just don't know them very well as Jim.
- 59:01So I guess I just try and do the best imitation I can and try to
- 59:05have some fun with it. You know, the chef I feel, I'll
- 59:08tell you what, the chef, I feel a little more comfortable.
- 59:11I feel like I have made maybe that more because I don't have
- 59:15to actually verbalize, like I would with real for dr.
- 59:18Teeth in a very specific way. Where's the chef?
- 59:22I can have some Fun with, and, and I think, I think I found
- 59:28ways of making that, you know, a little more fun than I expected,
- 59:36you know, II do have fun with him, maybe more than any of the
- 59:40others of gyms, and that's a really fun voice to do the
- 59:43Swedish Chef. That's like I do a lot of
- 59:45Impressions, but I have a, I have a decent Swedish Chef.
- 59:47I'm not going to do it now because Australian what do you
- 59:50do with an Australian version Australian?
- 59:52Seth yeah. Yeah yeah.
- 59:55Oh bork bork bork. But the I mean the voices are
- 1:00:05spot-on. So like, you know when you're
- 1:00:08they are, like you're being humble but, but they're spot on,
- 1:00:12I'll tell you now, what is it right Rudolph from from Run Run
- 1:00:17Rudolph. Yeah, that song is up Banger and
- 1:00:21that is one of my favorite Christmas songs.
- 1:00:24Not just that song like the old version of that song.
- 1:00:27So you don't like Merry Christmas Baby.
- 1:00:29Peppa is version of Merry Christmas baby.
- 1:00:31That's one of those ones. I haven't heard.
- 1:00:32I haven't had a lot of but oh yeah.
- 1:00:35Yeah that one. Yeah, yeah, no.
- 1:00:37That does a whole Pepe does a whole little Stevie Wonder
- 1:00:40tribute right at the end. A little Stevie Wonder scream.
- 1:00:43You got to hear that one. All right.
- 1:00:44I'm going to look into that after this.
- 1:00:48Well, thank you though. I appreciate that.
- 1:00:50I do like that. I do like that version.
- 1:00:52Yeah. What you do we doing the did
- 1:00:56these voices with a something you always had?
- 1:00:57Is this something that when the opportunity to take over these
- 1:01:00characters came up, you've worked on, I didn't work on the
- 1:01:06chef when I was asked to do it, I tried.
- 1:01:09I mean I it was quick. It was like figure it out fast
- 1:01:12because and then it was also maybe somebody else will Loop
- 1:01:14it, if it's not great, you know? And that was I think on Treasure
- 1:01:18Island. It was a really quick.
- 1:01:21Moment where he's at the table and the food, or the food
- 1:01:24actually make the joke, and he's just kind of back there, doing
- 1:01:26some like him, and what I did and then Rolf was a laugh in
- 1:01:31Treasure Island as well, sitting at the table.
- 1:01:34And from there, I started to play around.
- 1:01:36Could I maybe do this because I, you know, for Muppets tonight,
- 1:01:41one of the things I did consciously think about, was
- 1:01:45that there, wasn't anybody doing those growly gym voices, right?
- 1:01:51Since he had passed and those were my favorite growing up in
- 1:01:55here. Like those were the ones I was
- 1:01:57drawn to was that growl kind of, you know, bumbly growly kind of
- 1:02:01whether it was a king you know king ploobis or it was real for
- 1:02:06whoever. And so for Muppets tonight with
- 1:02:09Bobo, that was my, here's my little In My Own Way, tribute to
- 1:02:13a gym growly voice. And then they start asked me if
- 1:02:18I wanted to do eventually teeth and Ralph.
- 1:02:20And I was like, oh shit. It.
- 1:02:21How do I separate these now, you know, and it was a great lesson
- 1:02:26in just kind of going back and thinking about my acting
- 1:02:29training and thinking that it's not about voices, you know, it's
- 1:02:33about the character. And so Jim did a lot of those
- 1:02:36growly voices, but his characters were all different.
- 1:02:39They all came from different places.
- 1:02:41So, the attitude is what drove the voice as opposed to the
- 1:02:45voice driving the character, you know, so also defined ways of
- 1:02:49separating them but you did you have described how you form your
- 1:02:54mouth and everything for some of them to differentiate, right?
- 1:02:57Well, that's what I learned like.
- 1:02:59And I learned that like so Dave goal said, at one point he said,
- 1:03:02you know, when Jim would do dr. Teeth, I would watch him and he
- 1:03:06would literally make, you know, kind of bite his teeth and make
- 1:03:10this big grin. So, when he would talk, it would
- 1:03:13be much tighter, you know. But with raw food was around
- 1:03:17her, you know, and more playful, you know, more up here a little
- 1:03:21bit more air in and his deeds were, you know, there the t's
- 1:03:25and were there D is. And, you know, the looser thing
- 1:03:29and then with Bobo was just me, kind of just, with a growl, you
- 1:03:35know. So, just just more basic, you
- 1:03:37know, straightforward kind of guy, you know.
- 1:03:40But, yeah, the gym thing that they've showed me was a big
- 1:03:44change for me with dr. Teeth with to just griten grid
- 1:03:47more teeth, you know, and you do it.
- 1:03:50That's great. Those little things make such a
- 1:03:52huge difference. It's weird.
- 1:03:54I guess they do. Yeah, it helps me at least I
- 1:03:57hope after comes across. I think it does.
- 1:03:59Especially, I mean, we, you know, the fans, when you first
- 1:04:03really started getting into performing Rolf and we'd already
- 1:04:07been so familiar with Bobo. And I think a lot of the fans
- 1:04:10had a problem with, like, I mean, everyone's going to be
- 1:04:11problems. Recast, no matter what happens
- 1:04:14every time. Oh, really?
- 1:04:16Yeah. But I think a lot of fans have
- 1:04:23issue of like it's just Bobo, it's just like, but was voice
- 1:04:26coming out of raw. Sewage is not true.
- 1:04:29I mean, you know, obviously every performer needs time when
- 1:04:32they're taking over a character. Oh my God, it's perfect ears.
- 1:04:35But, but like you said, I mean, now, you know, we you all these,
- 1:04:40all three, these characters were have been in recent Productions
- 1:04:43and Like, You Close Your Eyes, a hunt.
- 1:04:44You can 100% tell the difference.
- 1:04:45Just like we could tell the difference between them when Jim
- 1:04:48perform them, you know, back in the day.
- 1:04:50So, So help. So I think you're doing a great
- 1:04:52morning, I don't thank you. I've been wanting to do.
- 1:04:54I want to bring back, you know the what do you call it?
- 1:05:00The Saturday Night Live Land O. Yep.
- 1:05:03LOL and landlords. Oh yeah, I would.
- 1:05:05So love to bring that back. You know, and I'll be terrific
- 1:05:08that King. Yeah, I would just like, yeah,
- 1:05:11do that again? And I know Matt would do an
- 1:05:14amazing scred, you know, and I just think we could.
- 1:05:17And then, of course, you know, having Eric do the my I mean, it
- 1:05:21just think we could really have some fun with that, you know?
- 1:05:24And then of course we have such great female performers, to
- 1:05:28figure out who would play though.
- 1:05:29I mean, I think what we saw, I think it sounds a but okay.
- 1:05:34Yeah. Well, I don't know if she, I
- 1:05:35think she's done. Yeah, bring em, bring friend out
- 1:05:37of retirement for this. Yeah, gotten certainly life.
- 1:05:40Well that do you know the puppet survived?
- 1:05:43Oh God. No.
- 1:05:44I think they're in a museum. I'm sure if any of them?
- 1:05:47Yeah. Yeah, I think it was some one or
- 1:05:49two of them might be. I know I've seen.
- 1:05:50Scred in a museum. I want to say I've seen fav.
- 1:05:53Ugh. And maybe this is well I want to
- 1:05:57say maybe maybe Museum the moving image or the touring
- 1:06:00Smithsonian. I don't think it'd be such great
- 1:06:03to do these. You know, just do a little
- 1:06:0410-minute pieces, you know, just have some fun, just kind of
- 1:06:09having a ball with them. I think Henson may still own the
- 1:06:12rights to the my don't know. I have to talk to Brian.
- 1:06:14They do have been think I'll do. They, the only reason I know for
- 1:06:17sure. Is that I've heard.
- 1:06:21Maybe I shouldn't say names but like I know people who have
- 1:06:23pitched ideas for comic books. So that with the help with the
- 1:06:27land, of course, characters and do Henson, because Henson songs
- 1:06:31it's not 9 and C naught naught 1 Michaels has been so long
- 1:06:35Disney. I didn't know if not this I
- 1:06:37wasn't sure Disney had them either.
- 1:06:38But yeah. So called bright call your buddy
- 1:06:41Brian. Tell him.
- 1:06:42Yeah, it is something I've been thinking about.
- 1:06:46I just think it would be so much fun to do again and people just
- 1:06:49love these quick. Little bites of things, you
- 1:06:52know, will be perfect to do. Oh, absolutely.
- 1:06:55Maybe we'll do great Jane after talking about voices and, you
- 1:07:01know, I've done Impressions. Have you got any Impressions any
- 1:07:03of your brother's characters or he does them all.
- 1:07:06Alright, let's come on, doing good.
- 1:07:12All right, let's let's say Ralph hey, how you doing?
- 1:07:15What else? I want to hear the sweet, sweet,
- 1:07:26Swedish, Chef and pepe. Excellent.
- 1:07:37Why are you insulting isn't just cough?
- 1:07:42Actually, I can do Pepe pretty well because what I want to say,
- 1:07:46let's not really gonna try and do it.
- 1:07:50You want me to say this voice? Okay.
- 1:07:51No, no, not the worst thing I've ever heard.
- 1:08:03You're a regular gym. Now that's actually not bad.
- 1:08:45It sounds like like characters as if they're like like falling
- 1:08:49but not for a very like a long fall like something wrong.
- 1:08:56Are falling off the chair, right?
- 1:09:01What else is Gonna Come Along? Good Ozzy, Ozzy.
- 1:09:07Ha ha ha. Yeah.
- 1:09:09Guns out of it. Now, that that was because
- 1:09:12father is gone. But you can see, I mean, he's
- 1:09:18got, I mean well, territoire my goodness.
- 1:09:21Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:09:22Bill, you know home but we're going to put out a toy like
- 1:09:26called Muppet box. A muppet box that has a little
- 1:09:29sound mechanism. Take it.
- 1:09:32And then you see which of the Expressions you get, I wasn't
- 1:09:35gonna mention this, but I'm up its now Gene actually ADR to all
- 1:09:40of my characters and just straight through the whole
- 1:09:44trouble, everything in trouble. Wow, yeah, I mean, you can tell,
- 1:09:49I tell a couple of times. Mom fell over I did have one
- 1:09:54question about about the Swedish Chef before we get off that
- 1:09:57topic. Toby asked me, well, what did
- 1:10:03you learn English? So well.
- 1:10:04So he started wearing a wedding ring in recent years.
- 1:10:14Who's he? Married to who's mrs.
- 1:10:16Swedish Chef. We don't know.
- 1:10:18I don't think he knows. I don't think he knows.
- 1:10:19He's married. It really cute.
- 1:10:22I don't think it was Steve Mars fault.
- 1:10:24It started with him. He wore his ring, he wore his
- 1:10:28wedding ring one time when he and I were doing it early on its
- 1:10:31back in the 90s. Now that's how long he's had a
- 1:10:33wedding ring on. Wow.
- 1:10:36So we just thought it was so funny.
- 1:10:40People started asking and then I just started, keep in mind using
- 1:10:43mine and and then I just thought Whoever has a wedding ring on
- 1:10:49that's doing his hands. That's whose wedding ring is.
- 1:10:51So he just has a collection of rings.
- 1:10:54Great. I love, you know, the be the
- 1:10:57Palisades. The Palisades Swedish Chef has a
- 1:10:59ring. I think Jamie Jamie, make sure
- 1:11:03that yeah yeah. So who is the the hands of the
- 1:11:07Swedish Chef now Usually is a number.
- 1:11:11Usually, if we can I hope it's Peter.
- 1:11:14He's so good. He's amazing.
- 1:11:17Quite a talent. Oh, my God, crazy.
- 1:11:20He's no Gene Beretta when it comes to right here.
- 1:11:23That's right. That's true Jean, but, but Peter
- 1:11:27is a close second. Yeah, but the thing is, when
- 1:11:29Gene does the hands to the Swedish Chef, they come out of
- 1:11:32frame because usually got an apple and he's eating it.
- 1:11:36It's right underneath the underneath.
- 1:11:39Ask me to do Swedish chefs hands.
- 1:11:41Go ahead. Okay, let's that see this way to
- 1:11:43chefs hands. You just wow, magic ring on them
- 1:11:55Pals of mine. Or is it just a band?
- 1:11:58It's a gray band to be balanced with my ring.
- 1:12:01I have a great bands. Here we go.
- 1:12:03So, wait a minute, maybe I'm the hands of this video stops.
- 1:12:06Maybe Steve wore a Platinum Band.
- 1:12:08I can't remember, maybe that's why it's over.
- 1:12:12Well, I think I know it's about this the way you chefs wife at
- 1:12:14some point. I don't think he's married, I
- 1:12:17can do the voice. Do you think?
- 1:12:19Do you think he wears the ring to to dissuade any women from
- 1:12:23from Florida? Give him.
- 1:12:25Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:12:27I think he doesn't, he's like, it's picked married to my work.
- 1:12:31Yeah. Or something or they just he
- 1:12:33didn't even know what he's saying, he's just really like,
- 1:12:37yeah, I feel like sweaty chefs. It's going to turn out to be
- 1:12:39some sort of we'd like Norman Bates situation.
- 1:12:43Here's my married to his mother Yeah, they're going to get home
- 1:12:46and he's mother. She was going to be like, made a
- 1:12:48broccoli and that'll be it. So Bill and Jean.
- 1:12:54At the end of every episode, we asked a series of questions to
- 1:12:57our guests Jared has his set of questions I have mine.
- 1:13:01Today, I'm going to ask you guys a few questions.
- 1:13:02Feel free to answer them. I wish I was asleep quick
- 1:13:05response you like last night, I was here, the whole night.
- 1:13:09Yes, great guy actually did need your Alibis.
- 1:13:13Thank you for that. Where is the holy war?
- 1:13:18Are your wedding rings real? Okay, so first question for you
- 1:13:22both of you feel you can answer together or one time.
- 1:13:26What is the best movie? You watched recently a whole
- 1:13:29movie Or most of the movie. No.
- 1:13:35All right how about TV show my wife and I get a kick out of 90
- 1:13:39day fiancé. So that's what we watch together
- 1:13:46somehow and sisters is good. Oh Mike's my do you guys know my
- 1:13:51600-pound life? I've heard of that.
- 1:13:53I have not watched it. There's a my face.
- 1:13:55He's my favorite. The doctor, that's on their
- 1:13:58doctor. Now I can't think of his last
- 1:14:00name. It's a long name, but he talks
- 1:14:03like this and they says, if if Evelyn is not going to get on
- 1:14:07the program, then we can give her the procedure at their.
- 1:14:10She's not going to go on the program and she's not going to
- 1:14:13have the procedure, then there's no point in me.
- 1:14:15Having a stay at the hospital. If she's not going to stay at
- 1:14:18the hospital, then we don't have any time to spend together back
- 1:14:22onto the I'm she's not on the program.
- 1:14:25Might be time for defense and he goes on its I swear to God.
- 1:14:29It's like a 4-minute run. Every time they talk to him.
- 1:14:33He's so great. You have to watch him dr.
- 1:14:36Now amazing. His austere.
- 1:14:38I'm sure he deliberately does that so they can't edit him
- 1:14:41halfway through his sentence. I don't think it's a long
- 1:14:44sentence and never stop. It is him.
- 1:14:46He is so focused and he's like this really devoted doctor to
- 1:14:50his patients and he just goes on And on and then he doesn't
- 1:14:54continue that all along and he doesn't contain.
- 1:14:57It does no good Lord. He's so good.
- 1:15:00All right. Would you rather travel 20 years
- 1:15:02into the future or 20 years into the past past?
- 1:15:07Yeah, past we had good childhood, good answer.
- 1:15:11Hmm fair. I wasn't a child 20 years ago,
- 1:15:15well, I know, but I'd like to meet my wife all over again.
- 1:15:19Oh, that's nice. That's very sweet 20 years ago.
- 1:15:22Well 20 years ago I guess I was meeting my wife at the say
- 1:15:27around the same time. Yeah, yeah, 25 was we were we
- 1:15:30were in five years at that time, but that's it all was all new
- 1:15:34and shiny. Great is a hot dog a sandwich.
- 1:15:40No. Yeah.
- 1:15:42Why not? It's got two pieces of bread
- 1:15:44around a piece of meat. No, it's all right.
- 1:15:47It's a roll. It's a roll.
- 1:15:50Yeah, Yogi's have roles. Wait, Hoagies have roles.
- 1:15:54They're sandwiches that a sandwich.
- 1:15:55It's a Huggy buttonhole. Jesus and who he is and the type
- 1:15:58of Sam, no. Yeah, of course, submarine
- 1:16:01Sandwiches sandwiches, Subway sandwich bread on top of its and
- 1:16:07Bill know if you had a hot dog bun and the bun separates, I
- 1:16:11don't separate them to pieces like a bit like when you hold
- 1:16:15it. Who took on the story of the Son
- 1:16:47of Sam crime. And Found out that he he didn't
- 1:16:53work alone and that they New York.
- 1:16:54Police Department was completely corrupted.
- 1:16:56They rushed the verdict and and huge was just became completely
- 1:17:00obsessed with with trying to figure all this out.
- 1:17:03It's really, really fascinating bit of history that not many
- 1:17:07people have known until now. I don't think.
- 1:17:10Alright, good. So interesting.
- 1:17:12Hmm, hey, but I do have a thing about sandwiches.
- 1:17:16Yeah distinguishes, do you know what a sangwich is?
- 1:17:20I don't sangwich is when you use one piece of bread and you wrap
- 1:17:25it around your stuff. You're still as a house on the
- 1:17:29same going to roll, not a roll. What's the difference which
- 1:17:34language? It's a slice of bread that you
- 1:17:38wrap around quite know. But that's our grandfather
- 1:17:42pronounced it. But was he was, he describing?
- 1:17:45I didn't know. He was actually describing one
- 1:17:47piece of bread rack. I thought that was just how we
- 1:17:50pronounce sandwich period. I asked him if it was a
- 1:17:53sangwich, if it because it was like not as different than two
- 1:17:57peas. Like I said, does that That it
- 1:17:58was like I don't know. It's my version of it.
- 1:18:03It's Cannon we're calling it isn't going it again.
- 1:18:06I just put it. So in my stead of questions that
- 1:18:09I usually ask, I have one that Joe doesn't like because no one
- 1:18:13is agree with me yet but I want to ask the both of you is super
- 1:18:18food or a drink. It's a food.
- 1:18:21Well you know it just gets too. It's not on the drink.
- 1:18:25Too many types of soup is in there.
- 1:18:28Okay, like a thicker soup. To me would be more like a food.
- 1:18:32A broth is more like a drink. That's the closest I've had to
- 1:18:36when you want to bring with me Bill.
- 1:18:38So thank you. I appreciate it.
- 1:18:40It's not on the beverages menu at all you're ever gonna have a
- 1:18:44cup of chicken broth, but you're not cheering it Food you can
- 1:18:48chew soup. Of course you can choose soup.
- 1:18:51Yeah. All right.
- 1:18:53You could. I mean like you ever have lentil
- 1:18:55soup? Yeah, it's like.
- 1:18:58All right. It's not like a liquid
- 1:19:00necessarily. You have to chew it to.
- 1:19:03You can't just drink it, right? What about vegetable soup?
- 1:19:07What about you know? Pasta fazool.
- 1:19:10I feel like this is all just now an intervention for my suit
- 1:19:13question. It's a terrible question Journey
- 1:19:15should be same. I'm not sure.
- 1:19:17But I Not sure what your what are you saying.
- 1:19:19I think it's a drink. How can it be with all the stuff
- 1:19:22in it? I'd like to see you drink some
- 1:19:25soup. All right, great.
- 1:19:28I'm gonna soup you can think of in the next
- 1:19:42five or 10 seconds obscure. Yeah, go deep.
- 1:19:48I don't know. I'm not a big Muppet fan.
- 1:19:56I couldn't really tell you, where is he?
- 1:20:00I love her. I love Guy.
- 1:20:04Smiley, but he's not obscure. Alex are enough of all time,
- 1:20:09your mother did exist. He's my favorite.
- 1:20:13He's my favorite of all, if he's a great choice.
- 1:20:16Yeah. Jean.
- 1:20:18Alan. How about Roosevelt Franklin?
- 1:20:25Yeah, he's great. What about?
- 1:20:30Baby oscar. Ah, maybe auditor.
- 1:20:37Is that a character? He's so obscure.
- 1:20:39You can you do your best baby, oscar voice.
- 1:20:47Great. It was just a song.
- 1:20:59Doing your own Folly but he's not an ashcan.
- 1:21:02He's in an ashtray. It didn't sound that was at the
- 1:21:07dragon. Yeah, yeah, right, perfect.
- 1:21:12So in every episode, we ask our guests to come up with a
- 1:21:15question for our next guest, without knowing who it is, last
- 1:21:18week, Our Guest was Leslie, Kerr are Rudolph and she wanted us to

- 1:21:32Hmm. Good answer.

- 1:21:41We're getting the band back together.
- 1:21:44I love it. All right.

- 1:21:59Why did you accept the invitation, right?
- 1:22:04Who am I gonna ask that? Who does your hair cut?

- 1:22:50out to try and guess, did you guess?
- 1:22:51I did not always also under the guise.
- 1:22:53It was one guess not too. So Joe really threw me up on
- 1:22:57this one. Yeah, okay, so there's there is
