- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: A lot less.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: And remember, you mentioned your fan of two bullies, when Mikey gets yourself a free mattress protector with any purchase of a mattress
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: Don't forget to mention you're a fan of the podcast and they'll take care of you.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, hurls.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Still don't have a voice.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: I've ended a voice for really two days.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, my second, uh, I had to make sure I was in the house.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: This game tonight, given what happened last time when I was also there.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, it did not disappoint.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of fully expected we weren't going to get.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think we even talked about it.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: You probably weren't going to get the same type of game.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: As last time given the what was at stake in this game, but still a very physically demanding game, I, I, they definitely did not disappoint with the physicality, I thought it was a little bit of a rough show, I think the rough knew what they were going to do and they nipped a lot of things in the bud as quickly as they could, so things wouldn't get out of hand, your immediate thoughts.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was the biggest game in the season and yet again, the saveers beat the lightning when it mattered most.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: They've won three or four against the lightning, but people forget that first game at the beginning of February.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: They had the lead in the third period and they gave it up.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: It was a Darren Rattish goal from the point.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think on the power play and then they lost an overtime.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: So very well could have taken four or four against one of the best teams in the league.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: in the second half of the season along with the sabers.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think the sabers match up really well against the lighting.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually seeing that comment in one of our super chats.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: We have two $5 super chats right now.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'm gonna hit those right in the second.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: No, you were, I know, I already saw one of them was for Keen Davis, who's always a guy.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: A camera in that super chat.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: So, our guy.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate it.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: But is the one that I saw.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: I was love seeing Tampa fans be babies.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: I do too.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want Tampa in the playoffs.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: We match up well.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we do match up well.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: I the NHL network broadcast, which was exclusively showing the game tonight, at least in my area.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: was talking about how people are comparing the sabers to the lightning.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: And that is such as a hockey team such a good compliment for the sabers, given what the core of this Tampa Bay lightning team has done over the past.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, even like 12 seasons, if you go back to like the Tyler Johnson years at the beginning of the Victor Hadman run and the Nikita Kutraoff run and Andre Vasilevsky
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of these guys are still there at the top of their game.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking to a friend earlier in a kid of Kutra, we still a top five player in the league and likely the best player at his position at left wing in the league.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: And he is still dominant.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: And for the favors to be compared to that type of team and to go to toe to toe with a team like that, really shows you where this team is right now and where this franchise the level that they have gotten to.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: in the past four months alone.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: Since December 9th, now it's April 6th, in less than four months, the savers have gotten on the plateau of the lightning, and that is just unbelievable.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and like listen, they took seven out of eight points.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're now tied for the lead in the division.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: There are two points ahead of Montreal.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: Would you agree that the savers were in the driver's seat right now?
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the lightning still have a game in hand.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I would say that I would never be on the library.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: I would do it with my relief for sure.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's helpful, but they technically still have a better point to percentage.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I wouldn't consider the savers to be in the driver's seat per say.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think they need to win.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: So there's four games left.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think they need at least six points, probably seven, to put themselves in a really good position to win the division.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what their schedule is because I think it does depend upon who they play and what types of teams are going to be in this so on Tuesday actually tomorrow they are on the road in Ottawa, a desperate team on the outskirts of the playoffs Thursday is going to be a confusing game for many people, but they will be on the road in Montreal on Thursday Saturday on the road in Boston.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Another team on the play and at the edge of the playoff picture, they're currently kind of comfortably in the first wild card spot, but still will be desperate.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Who knows if Detroit will still be in it week from today?
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: They'll have to try it at home and then they get a softball.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it's a range of team that's actually been playing well recently to end the season the same night that we play the stars.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: So we will know by then by Wednesday, April 15th, what we will have to do in that game against the stars to potentially win the division.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: But up until that, they need to keep winning because I give in the game in hand, I can't comfortably say they're in the driver's seat.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and like listen, like we kind of been talking about this for a few weeks now, right?
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like this, because it's going to come down to like the one last game or two to figure out where we're going to place.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's how how difficult this division's been all season long and let's be real.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that Buffalo was able to claw their way back to where they are now considering where we started it back in October and even early November like that makes a season like this even more special even that much more impressive rules.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's insane and obviously the last seven games I think were expected at some point, right?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was a grueling schedule, it was a long road trip out here on the West Coast.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: It was long for me and I just went to two of the games.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: I can't imagine how those guys felt, especially allowing only one goal in the first three games of that road trip.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Some regression was bound to happen and it eventually did.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: It caught up to them, their expected goals.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: weren't necessarily where they should have been for a long time and they were getting so many saves, especially from Alex Line.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: So some regression was expected and it hadn't happened.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: It was two, three and two stretch.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: But to get two, I guess that would be for six points in that stretch, I think is still pretty good and it's not representative of teams of the past, which would not get those those are points, which would not get games to overtime.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: So they've learned from their mistakes of years past, I think this group is battle tested from basically playing for their playoff lives since late November, early December, and going on that run that they did in middle of December and into January, even coming out of the Olympic break, they've had two separate eight game win strikes, a season like it's absolutely unbelievable, and to beat a team like the lightning throughout of four games, as I said earlier, really,
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: to where this group is right now.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: They're rising to the moment.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: They realized just as we all did that this was the most important game of the season in front of the home crowd.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: First came back at home since they've officially clinched the playoffs.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think they realized what they needed to do tonight.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: Especially in that third period, you don't often see this team play a trap per se.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: And they limited chances as well as they possibly could.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: Chipped pucks out of the
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: and really limited chances.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: And UPL, shout out, we can talk about his entire game, but especially on the Jack Quinn Empty Natter, playing the puck, getting it over to the defenseman who eventually got over to Jack Quinn to get the anti-nut goal.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: That is a high IQ goalie play, not freezing the puck in that situation and getting a face off in the offensive zone.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: That is a really, really smart play by UPL and it just speaks to where his game is.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to, I want to, we just had his super chat up, Ricky Davis, a couple clicks for both you, excuse me, and, um, and, uh, Nicholas DiPernal, thank you again for the super chats.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I, like, did you hear the crowd chanting, uh, we won Hagle?
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I, it's funny, because I originally thought it was we won Tampa, and I think a lot of people did.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: And then I saw a few accounts say that it was we won Hagle, which is just unbelievable.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so don't worry, guys, we're going to get the chats.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: We're not just focusing on super chats, but we got to show those guys loves when they kick into the kitty, so to speak.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, a lot of milestones tonight.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: You have Dolly in reaching 70 points, second year in a row, to Alex talk hitting 30 goals.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: And one that slept on a little bit,
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: you know, Jack Quinn would 50 points.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: And like you mentioned earlier, these are two assists away from tying or breaking Raniro bear for Moses's in his career.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: One, so yeah, so one, one side of the fifth and savers history.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one assists away.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's the way, two, every heart in the birdie which would be tied for fifth most in savers history.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think people forget that Rasmus Talon is 25 years old.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: He turns 26 next week, actually a week from today.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: But that's insane to have the fifth most assists in Saber's history as a defenseman at 25 years old is remarkable and it really speaks to how good he is and he especially tonight was dominant.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I really think he has an argument for being a top two defenseman in this league right now.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: You're getting some fashion compliments there with your fit.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's like 85 degrees here.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: I hope those comments aren't facetious.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: I do want, I'll pull it up, I'll pull it up in a minute too.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: there was a tweet from my good buddy, not the Joe Marino on Sabers Twitter.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: And how could you possibly vote for John Cooper, for Coach of the Year, given what this team, this Sabers team has done to Tampa, seven out of eight points, they've honestly dominated them for the most part.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, only loss came on a fluke over time goal from Gensel.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, how do you not vote for Lindy Ruff?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: It means between those two, how do you not vote for Lindy Ruff?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, we're lost.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: You can't hear you about.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, I don't think the voters are going to take the head to head record 14s into account.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that's typically what they do.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to look at the larger picture.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I just know that John Cooper is going to get votes because at least partially he's never won.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: and a lot of people consider him to be the best coach in the NHL, which is fair, but that's not what the award is.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: The award's not the best coach in the NHL.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: It is the best coach in the NHL for that season.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: And if you think that Lindy Ruff has not done as good of a job as anyone to get the Saber's team in a position, especially since the GM was fired and to keep them focused and to get them out of the rut last place in the eastern conference and eventually
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: in contention for the Atlantic division, breaking a 14 season playoff drought.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't I don't know how that's not Jack Adams worthy.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Personally, I think we're obviously a little bit biased, but objectively he's done a really good job.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: And that graphic a couple weeks ago when the TNT panel didn't even mention Lindy Ralph.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: They were definitely trolling they had to have been.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: And if they weren't, then it's just
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: How is he not even on some people's nominations list that's insanity?
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you can't omit him from the ballot.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you vote for somebody else.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's your choice.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: But he is on the ballot.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: Point playing period.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, on 100% I do want to give a cook shot out to some of the fan.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: The cool fans were sent in a section shout out Logan Nick and well we did interviews with them Maybe between the first and second and second and third real beauties so shout out to you guys.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think you said you'd be watching and if you are watching make sure you leave us a comment the chat.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: We'll show you some love Just the crowd was so electric tonight, girls like
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: producer Steve will post it after the game he took a video like after the final buzzer and just like you know how the team comes to sunrise like he said the 25 second mark he said the video doesn't do a justice that place was loud man really really really loud and I can only imagine what that age dream was like at the end of the game yeah I hope someone took a video that I I turned up the volume on my phone
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: the rumbling through the phone of how loud it actually was.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we all know having been in that building, how it can actually physically shake.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that's a good sign for the playoffs, given how old it is, but at least they read it the roof.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, you could tell on the broadcast as well.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: You could hear it, especially after that first Alex Tucker, the crowd reaction is going viral on mine, spent and check
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that the reaction to what the crowd sounded like after that first goal and what it's going to be like in the playoff really surprised people because people haven't necessarily been paying attention to how many straight sellouts there are but it's been extremely about it's been packed for a long time even before the run I was at games everything's giving it was completely packed and felt like a playoff atmosphere.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: The fans never went anywhere.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: They just wanted to be shown some hope, and that's what they've been given over the past four months.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: The broadcast shots of all the beer savers were unbelievable.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: It was really cool to see every single time the crowd was shown, it was either somebody drinking out of one, or somebody holding to in a crossing swords motion, and I felt like a proud father.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: I do want to I do want to say I do have a phone to pick with the team right now, so I do have a book and there I have a couple bones to pick but we'll just talk about the one tonight in regards to tonight because I think tomorrow on to go is on like we could we could talk about some of the some of the things that we're talking in length on Sabers Twitter day when it came to like pre pre sail tickets for season ticket holders and the kind of like just the conversations that we're going on that I even got involved with but.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: But there were friends of mine who waited over a half an hour in lines tonight for a beer saver and didn't get one because they were selling multiple to saver fans, like an individual's air vanca by multiple.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: Don't think that's right.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Considering the eggs a little bit of time only.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: For sure, and also the fact that they haven't been available since I think it might have been that first night that I was there that they haven't been available since or it was like a week after or something in like late November early December the supply chain on producing those those plastic.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not just making them available online at this point.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: Professor, your fans overseas, like, I think they somehow underestimated the demand for something like that, knowing the fans of Buffalo and the tendencies of people in Buffalo, how could especially even seeing the response of the game that I was at?
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't understand how you couldn't go to the supplier of whoever made the beer
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: And just say like, hey, the demand for these is so unbelievably high, merchandise is through the roof of this, I can make my own.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, yeah, like somebody could probably make their own.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: I can't imagine it's probably harder than we think it is, but at the same time.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: The supply does not meet the demand.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: This is basic economics.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I think a lot of people are upset about it, but the fact that they sold multiple to one individual tonight, I actually enjoyed online.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: That was crazy.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's unbelievable.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: Even more than one.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: Even the guys we were sitting next to, they had to each and two.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: Their four of them.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: They were drinking out there and they each had one, like, it's just like the playoff tickets.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to go and sell those online for triple the price.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I personally think that's wrong.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: I would never sell mine, just like if I had seasoned tickets, I wouldn't resell them for $350 on the secondary market to like glamontriol Canadians fan.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: If you're loyal to the crest, you're loyal to the crest, and you're loyal to the beer saver.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like you don't necessarily go online, maybe you do because you're selfish, but you give them to a friend.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: You give them to someone that could actually appreciate it.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: That could take it to the game and actually drink it rather than do nothing with it.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: I just think that's ridiculous, but it's another conversation for another day.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: What do we get copyrighted?
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if we don't put beer, I mean, how can you copyright?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, someone, someone look up toward someone, I mean, I think we can look up if they've copyrighted the design or if there's a pat and on the, is that an invention, I have no idea, but I'm like your way, we'll make our own two goal is one Mike Pierce or I have a, I have a, I have a, I have a lot of friends in the legal field, we can, we can look into this.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we could have a, I do want to pull up that tweet real quick from Joe marino because it's a, it's a really, really good one.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: pull off our overlay here and bring it up, got a lot of it, got a lot of it.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: How Keith and I that man, that would be absolutely criminal if he does not win coach of the year.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: So criminal.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I'd never seen the Jack Adams trophy, uh, I don't think they give away the trophies that big anymore.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: You like back in the day back when he won these awards, like I think it was kind of crazy too, because people people might not remember.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: Do you remember who will coach presented him that trophy?
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, I like up until recently, I forgot that he even won it because it was so long ago.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: Just take a guess while coach presented it to him.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: Torturella, Ted no one love it.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: What a shitty thing for the way to do is to present study your own stuff.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: After you got blackballed out of the league, after he won coach of the year in 96, 97, he was fired the next year and then have a job until the islander's finally hired, which was insanity.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm 90, 90% positive.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe somebody can correct me in the chat that it was Ted no one that presented him with the Jack Adams.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes life finds a way, especially when Ted Nolan came back after Lindy was fired, and he was on the bench yet again.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder what Ted Nolan's doing right now.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: We should get Ted Nolan back for a playoff game.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yo, I have connections that have had him on their podcast.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe me, I don't know, we could see, toward the shot, right?
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: It'd be awesome to talk to Ted Nolan.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely worth the shot he even even in that short stint he came back to coach the team I think he is part of the drought lore and he is a fabric of of the saber's organization.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I hope he somewhere is enjoying this run as much as we are I got we got a really good idea here for for our name.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: To go always one of your neighbor that's really good.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: I like that a lot.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: I really really like that.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: We will give full credit if there's no way, like there's no way that we could get this done into it.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, that'd be great.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, if you don't have to, you know, the hamster wheel is rolling right now.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's, it's, it's plastic, right?
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: So if you know anybody in plastic production or large scale production, like that, then.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I must.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if anybody knows anybody, like, great percentage of sales.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: It could even be a mini one, like we can do, like, we're the same.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: Where do they call, uh, Saber shots?
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're Saber shots.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or like, yeah, like, uh,
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: They, like, num checks almost like the, the small words that like either way, like they're, they're, they're, they're key chains.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's, I think the little, the little shot class this could be cool.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and that would honestly cost way less and probably be easier to produce.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: So, if anyone has any connections, please let us know, hit us up.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: We will give you full credit and we'll even, for 1% of our company will give you a 1 million dollar investment.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: How about that?
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: How you guys should produce a beer, Connor has never seen any movie, wait, wait, what?
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: I should produce a beer, Connor has never seen any movies.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: Can you rewrite that?
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't know what the point was there.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: Beer, Katana, there we go.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: Our beer, our two goal is like beer, Katana, but I like the other name, man.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's a really, really good name.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: Two goal is one beer, two goal is one beer, two goal is one beer, Saber.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean,
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that that was one of my favorite moments from this season that that first night and I didn't fully drink all nine, but I think I had about seven and a half that night.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: So one of like one of the guys I interviewed he remembered you.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: from here.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I like he actually heard the podcast and we were talking about it.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, yeah, that's the one with the guy with the beer saver.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, yeah, that's him.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's it's kind of early.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: I did have I definitely did have nine beers that night, but not all nine were I did tell him you spread it out sporadically.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: You do not drink all nine at the game.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and exactly, and I did my best to honor my commitment to getting one beer saver per saver's goal that night, which you have to do if you put that out under the universe.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I think it's a really cool thing.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: I hope we see them for the playoffs.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: Cool thing that some people don't know is that they allow you to bring one you purchased, already back into the stadium.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: So if you already have one, you can bring it back for future games.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: And for the playoffs, I wasn't sure about that because
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: technically it's like kind of a weapon, but it's not the weapon that they took away from Alec Klein at least, which he did speak about last week, and he said that he's not sure that's the reason they took it away in the locker room, him unsheathing the sword after his first win, but he says he's
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: also not positive that it's not the reason.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, this is a champ that they took it away because he un-cheat the sword, which is important.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: We can start that conspiracy theory.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, he says like nobody's ever told him.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: It just disappeared after that game, but that's definitely the reason.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody was going to get hurt.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that became a thing like that.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: He had the wild eyes while he did it, too.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: He had the glory while he was out.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was a very goaly thing to do.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: But, yeah, speaking of goalies, UPL continued his magical run over the past two months.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: I would say, honestly, since the Olympic break when, unfortunately, he got injured and wasn't able
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: to be on team Finland for the Olympics.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: I really do believe he would have gotten games there given their their goalie tandem that they had, but either way, obviously it's tough spot for him in the middle of the season.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: He took that time to not be done on himself.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: Clearly, got healthy, got gain strength, worked on his game, both mentally and physically, and he has been absolutely on fire for the past month and a half, two months since they returned.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: he was really, really good tonight.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that any of the goals were necessarily on him.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think he potentially could have gotten against the one.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody mentioned they wanted to save on the the Koutraff power play goal.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he could have gotten over, but it's Koutraff on the power play.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: So you can't blame him too much.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, have it done yet.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: They're a player like on the
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not going to split hairs on that, but the third period specifically, they limited chances and they played a really solid defensive game, but in the final five minutes, he had a few saves, which were massive.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: He was really quick going across his net.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: He covered Pucks when he needed to.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: He was aggressive.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: He stared down shots in the slot.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: He is playing at the top of his game right now.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: And this has been kind of the thing all year, right?
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think we always said,
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think very like 95% of the way there to being the game one started in the playoffs and this is what happens with goalie one guy one guy gets the hot hand and you eventually ride him not necessarily ride him into the ground, but either way right now.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's UPL's net for game one, but that could change in the next four games.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a it's a good problem to have and they have two goalies that the absolutely can trust.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: I would say so, yeah, and I mean, they've played well as of late, but they haven't been good at home, and I think you need to get him some confidence back, right?
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Saturday was a tough game, obviously, having clenched earlier in the day.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: None of those goals were on him.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of people can look at that objectively and say that and realize that, but he also hasn't been as best as of late, and that happens to a goalie, especially at his age, but getting him another win.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully in a quality start will be good for him having into the playoffs, which they're absolutely going to need them.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: We got a question of thoughts on Stanley and Shenzhen.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think I want I'm glad he brought this up because I would have forgotten to say I think that was probably one of the best defensive games as team is played all season.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: I thought you peel for the most part saw every shot.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you really had to track too much.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: I thought defensively they
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: They cleared the front of the net.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they made sure that, you know, he saw everything.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, I can't recall any moment, any like, spanned during this game where I thought, wow, man, we're really hemmed in.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, like, you know, they really controlled the pace on us there.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like, they didn't, they didn't.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: I thought we did really good at job of clogging up lanes, controlling their entries, you know, keeping them to the outside.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that was one of the better if not the best defensive effort they had all season.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: And in a must-win game against a team like that with a goal-tender like that, you couldn't ask for a better defensive effort.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I think because of tonight, you clear it could will see Luke Stanley and Luke Shenagun.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, Luke's family Luke Shenagun, not the other way around.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: I hope not.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: I was nervous every time they were on the ice, uh, a Logan Stanley failed clearing attempts.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: I guess you could consider it a giveaway directly led to the Jake Encel goal.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Shen was plus one.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: he is so slow, he is so unbelievably slow and that makes sense given that he's in his 18th NHL season and he's been on 65 different teams and he's at the age he's at, I just think that tonight they were out there specifically just in case it got really ugly which it had a chance to at multiple different points.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: I would say that compared to the last game it obviously was
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: They played tonight and I don't think I would be alone amongst Sabers fans and saying that we would be more comfortable with a Metza Castle ring third pairing then we would be a Logan Stanley Luke Shen pairing in the playoffs I think you could potentially dress one of them.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: You have them as insurance That's the reason you brought them here in the first place But the moments they were on the ice in the way that they handled the park especially in their zone
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: we're unnerving for me.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: I just think that it's not necessarily the best possible pairing potentially if you even did it up down the defensive lineup, but yeah, I don't necessarily love it.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't really love their game tonight in an limited show.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen a picture of Stuart Skinner's eye?
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't yet now.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: Go, okay.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: You need to, you need to go look.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you need to go look, man, he had an eye injury.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like, can somebody in the chat tell us what this is all about because I'm not that I, I was paying attention.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then we kind of, dude, yo, I got to bring this up.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: This isn't sanity, is anyone know, by the way, for anyone who knows Tybee, this guy looks just like Tybee, it's insane.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: But like I got to bring this up.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: This is nuts.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: Can anybody the chat figure out what that's all about?
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: It looked like he got punched in the face by Ivan Drogo from Rocky for not the of any idea who the fuck that is.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: I do know who Ivan Drogo is.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well, at least there's that.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's, that's, that might be the worst black eye I've ever seen in my life.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: God, how did that happen?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like what happened there?
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, I have to hold on, I'm bringing this up here in a second.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: This is nuts.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: He must have gotten hit by a park in practice or something.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: It must have gotten through his cage.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it sucks.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go Sunday.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: But if I were to take her, but I don't know.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: gosh, that is really, really crazy.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: It can't happen.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: I would say, especially with a cat eye cage, it's not completely full proof to stop something from going into that type of cage and whether that was a puck or a stick.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, that doesn't look good.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yo.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yo.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's a non-hockey-related injury, that is even crazier.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: uh especially at this time of year when he's been playing so well and in the context of that trade having traded Tristan Jerry won for one and Tristan Jerry's not doing that well and all of the bad press and criticism he got in Edmonton being a kid from Edmonton.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: That would be wild if he wasn't able to play in the playoffs because of something like that.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be really interested to hear what happened.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: Pock came up out of play.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's he on the bench.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: I hit the eye with the puck that way.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what I'm seeing.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: He was on the bench and he just got hit with the puck in the face.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_00]: Holy fuck man.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: Even worse.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: Call me.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: Call me.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_00]: Call me.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: Call me.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's what that looks like to me.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: Is that a rocky quote?
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, from very first rock, it's a for rocky one or rocky to where his eye looks just like that and he can't see out of it and he just like, look, call me, call me, call me his bat, but it's a legal, I'm pretty sure and they cut his eye so like the swelling goes down and he can see out of it because he couldn't see out of it at all.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, that's not, that's not our Leo, that is not, I mean, that is a hockey player.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think, he'll heal up and he'll be in there soon as possible, but probably the worst possible injury, not named a groin injury for a goalie.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: So, an injury in your eye tonight is problematic to
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody, um, I was going to try and get, uh, because we're working on some like, uh, like, uh, the best of the worst, like a bracket for the drought moments and working on it with a couple other podcasts on the fun to do for us like count down like kind of rank the the worst moments worst, the best of the worst moments from the drought and um, one of the from the number of the the the the save report iceberg.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: and Carter hot and not being able to see the fuck plus one of them.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: And we thought about inviting him on just for that and having to have to take that moment.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: Where does that break for you, Carter?
- 32:53[SPEAKER_00]: Do you not be able to see the fuck that year?
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how willing he'll be able to do that.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: But you seem to have a sense of humor and
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, five games left.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, in terms of the goalie breakdown, I would imagine happened during practice too, by the way, they're saying to happen during practice.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh gosh, even worse.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh God.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we'll probably see Lion on Wednesday in New York.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: We've got Columbus on Thursday, back to back, back at home, probably get UPL for that two days later on the road
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: could be either or probably lion if I had to guess and then at home against the stars to finish the season on Wednesday.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's being reported as it has been that the first playoff game is going to be Sunday the 19th that would give three days, three full days of rest before the first playoff game no matter if it's at home or on the road.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: So depending on who's going
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: provided no injuries.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's an ample amount of rest for either guy.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: But at the moment at TUPL, but I think as we've seen all season, that pendulum can switch at any given moment.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel confident in both guys, and I think it's important to give Alex Lyon some confidence in the next few games here.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, for all, you know, he could pitch like a 30-save shot out out one day and then then he's like, well, you know, yeah, he's, well, yeah, he's shown that he responds to adversity really well and he's talks about it and he says it motivates him.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I think this is a really good sign for for UPL because his biggest problem has been consistency.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: It has been bouncing back from bad games and so far for the past two months.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's very similar to the second half of the season two seasons ago, which earned him that four and a half million dollar a year contract.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I am encouraged.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the plan all along for this season was UPL to be their number one.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: They brought in Alex Lyon as a really very capable backup who has done it in a variety of different places throughout the year.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the management hoped that UPL played consistent and got back to that level, which earned him that contract.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: And right now, he's proving them right.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: Question here from Paul Hamilton, watch your language.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, you'll list you.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: most recently joined.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, first time I'm ever.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't block you.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: No, of course not.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: I have the first time I ever did.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: I blocked mine mine was mine was just a gift and I and it wasn't even me.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: It was Brian Cranston saying fuck and what I said or though was it.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: Is it Walter White?
- 35:44[SPEAKER_00]: No, I said it was from Malcolm the middle.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I said it was Walter, right?
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't watch TV either.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, sure.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, I said it wasn't me technically that said it.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then I also apologized because I know it.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: It really, it works.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: And he did not block me.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: So shout out.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I've been on that.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I remember I got it was the year we had a Victor Antipen.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: And,
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, like my take was kind of wrong going back to him, but when we signed him, he was like the best defenseman in the KHL.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_00]: And when we were able to sign him and I said, he was like, he played like a small handful of games and then like he was constantly getting bench game after game and for game and for game and I said, you know, I said the word hell.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_00]: The word I used was how it was, and then I like, I agree, just, and I said, what the hell, Paul, like the guy is Russian, he doesn't speak a lick of English.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_00]: There's nobody that's Russian or even check or like that on the team to help like assimilate him, like to this culture.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big culture shock coming from there to here.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, it's not easy for a guy like him to assimilate into having blocks from the press box.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: You really don't know what you have.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes,
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: Watch your language, please, and then he goes and then like next thing I know I go to click back as profile on a block I literally said the word hell.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: I got a lot of screenshots of Paul Hamilton saying way worse things than that in the past I don't think he himself is absolved, but neither here nor there
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: Regardless, I was nice to see Josh Norris to get on the score sheet.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's been struggling lately.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_00]: What really quick release blew it by Vaseloski.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: How about the club save by Vaseloski tonight too, by the way?
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing well.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like, absolutely.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: My name's Vaseloski.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: You tip your cap, he has a goal he has to, and even just as a fan of hockey, I think that he's been doing it at high level for so long and his ability, especially at that age, to do a full split, to reach his glove out into that position, to get it in front of his body, and to, for it to not even be even close to a goal.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: He was in a really, really marginalized position and to react in the way
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: is just insane.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: He is so good, but I will say that he didn't necessarily have his best night tonight.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he got beaten cleanly a couple times when it where you don't normally see that.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: The Josh Norris goal, not being one of those because I think Zach Benson as he does, got to the front of a net and influenced his sightline a little bit.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Vasilevsky is a goalie.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: I do not want to face the playoffs.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: We got other common here from Connor.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to him one of my Jim buddies.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, Shenzhenley didn't play that bad.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_00]: Again, granted the play you mentioned earlier, I genuinely didn't hate that pairing tonight.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: You know, limited time, at least time, obviously.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: But given Lindy's and the way he does things, I could totally see them rolling them out against New York on Wednesday.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe just to get some, some ice time and some experience.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: Once or twice or maybe it's a nice time.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, yeah, I mean, yeah, it's got to happen at the point.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: You'd hope so, but.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: I guess we don't know if he's fully healthy.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: He said that he is, but maybe he's waiting until his ankle is 100%, I don't know.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, yeah, they weren't horrible.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't want for it to be mistaken that I thought they were absolutely terrible.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: I just get nervous when they're on the ice because puck retrieving and puck handling isn't their strength and there are a bit slower, especially compared to our other four defensemen who are extremely quick and move the puck really well and they're able to pass it.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: really seamlessly and get it out of the zone in quick fashion.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: And they're able to move the puck up the ice, not even just out of the defensive zone.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: They jump up into the offensive play too.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_01]: not what you're asking from your third pair and they only play 12 minutes each, but I just an extremely nervous one of the nice together and maybe that's my problem, but I don't think I'm the only one.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean, you're not the only one, definitely not.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I think Logan Stanley for the most part, you know, I mean, I, I don't know where I'd rank this on the games he's played for Buffalo so far, like, you know, his best, his worst.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: I thought like for the most part I didn't notice he like the only time I noticed them was that first Scrum where they were both on the ice in the first period and like Luke Shantz skated in and like a bad out of how already ready to, you know, throw rights and laughs But other than that, I didn't notice them and that's not necessarily a bad thing
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess that's a good thing to say about a guy, right?
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think the standard has been low.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's made some tough plays in his games.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's played for the Sabers.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I think there's a perception of him now.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a reputation that he's created for himself, given his numbers, even with the jets and the way jets fans have talked about him, right?
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this isn't just come out of nowhere.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like his numbers weren't great coming in.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that was part of the reason people were a little bit upset that they gave up as much as they did.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: is one of the top prospects in the organization.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: and they had to part ways with him to bring Stanley and you would want more production, especially offensively, but he's also not playing enough to get that type of production as he did on the jets.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: So he's probably gonna be in the playoff starting line up.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: I just prefer that it would be Metza or Kasslering.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's likely gonna be Metza given how well he's played in the amount of game he's played this season.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess we'll see.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think tonight specifically was just for the physical presence of both of them.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_00]: Alex Pock asked earlier, he's going to Newport Beach.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: He wants suggestions from you on what there is to do there other than go to the beach.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: There is a place called Haviers.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's a really good Mexican restaurant.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Allen actually lives down in Newport Beach.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: He is a member at the Laguna Negel Country Club.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_01]: And he frequents a place called Haviers.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: A lot, really, really good Mexican food.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: So try to check that out if you can.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's a few bars.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: I would have to get the name of them.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: I've only been down there a few times, but the beach is amazing.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: If you get to Laguna, Laguna is really cool too.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: That entire southern coast area of Orange County is just absolutely beautiful.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason like five reality shows were made about it.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's a really, really nice area.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_00]: I've been to Calia a couple of times for work.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_00]: I've been to Corona.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure how that far Corona is for me.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's where I had quarters
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: Always fun to get down there hot.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_00]: I shit.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: We're actually going to Vegas at the end of this month for our like our national team meeting, which I'm super pumped for.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: But, uh,
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: kick it back to our sponsors shot it again to Fatty Beer Company Western York's premier market and tap on with over 300 beers as soon as from at seven different Western York locations if you need a beer get on over to Fatty Beer.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know we sent you over at two gollies one mic please make sure you keep an eye out more and I'm sure you all saw the tweet.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: yesterday.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think we quote tweeted Buffalo Sports Talk because there was talk about how the Sabers are only doing watch parties for home games.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Fatty Beer Lanecaster is doing watch parties for the away games and they could that tweet got a lot of love, especially we even got a quote tweet from the LeBats main page, which is pretty cool.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: But from the sounds of it, from the
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like there's going to be a really good turn out.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's they're going to shut down all of Main Street and the village of Lanecaster.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to have a giant screen at the end of each street.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_00]: For this watch, party, obviously, this is weather permitting and start time permitting.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: As long as those two things align, it's going to be a blast.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have street vendors.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think 26 shirts who is now carrying, if you haven't checked it out yet, two goals one Mike has their own team store with 26 shirts.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_00]: Please make sure you check it out.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'll pull up the, I'll pull up the different designs here in a second, but I think they're going to, I think they're going to have a table down there selling selling swag, there's going to be a lot of food trucks and just there's a lot, a lot of cool restaurants down there to do to if you want to pre game at fatty or scoops or please like that.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's great food and great beverage all around and it's great if I have the net this year.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you're looking for somebody to watch somewhere to watch it, I want to get to a watch party for an away game.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_00]: So keep your eyes and your ears open for more information regarding that.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, the stream discount matches with Western Europe's finest selection of matches and adjustable beds.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: They have seven different Westerner locations.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: You can find them at extreme mattress.com.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: That is extreme with the next.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: The list of the new closed-out center at 1625.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the name of the new in Cheeto Aga, well, 280% off their already low prices on one of a kind's closed-outs and floor samples.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_00]: You can take quality mattress for literally pennies on the dollar extreme discount mattress.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: We sell mattresses for less.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: A lot less.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, yourself a free, yes, I said, free mattress protector with the purchase of any mattress from extreme discount mattress.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_00]: Connor, I'm going to let you kick it over to your final thoughts and I'm going to pull up and then we're going to go to inside the lock room and while you're giving giving your final thoughts, I'm going to pull up our new team store with 26 shirts.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as we said earlier, massive one in a huge spot obviously needed it if you wanted any chance at the division, which they now have once again, they kind of got themselves out of it.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: with that seven games stretch, but not completely, giving a couple of loser points in there.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: But these last two games were absolutely worrisome.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I think their reaction after the game against Washington said enough that I think we could have gathered that they would have come out like this.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they realized that they weren't able to properly celebrate a monumental achievement for this franchise like clinging a playoff Earth for the first time in 14 seasons in the way that they should have.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: In Ottawa first where I think that was a winnable game and then against the capitals on Saturday once they were actually clenched I think they were a little bit upset about that so being home for the first time in front of this crowd on dingus day with the beer saber back they played one of their best games of the season and as you said the defensive performance was amazing UPL was really good and Alex talk specifically had one of his best games of the year.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: So they showed up when they needed to for games left.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: They got to win at least three of them and let the chips fall where they may.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I couldn't agree with you more.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I think you kind of discriminated earlier that seeers of the driver, see, I think they do really control their own destiny.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: As long as they take care of business with the toughest test being the Dallas stars for fan appreciation, which I think historically they usually form pretty well.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_00]: On that, on theory in that game, I imagine it's going to be an absolute fucking riot.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_00]: He makes it for that game.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: I guess might just think on that, like, even if they win all four games, there's a chance, Tampa wins all five of there.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_01]: And that would still.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: And they would still.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I can't say drivers eat at this moment, but they put themselves in a much better spot tonight.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I do believe they hold a tiebreaker for it.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_00]: I could be wrong.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_00]: So many of the chat can correct us.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, I'll give you a couple of clicks, but here is the new two goal is one like team store, uh, we're part of a 26 shirts, which is exciting.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: Um, a lot of these designs were made by, uh, one of our, um, producers Jeff Hayesley, because they're shout out to him.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously you have the finally shirt.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, can you see all this girls?
- 47:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you finally shirt at, you know, come on.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Malantown.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of proud of that myself.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_00]: I came up with that moniker.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: The welcome to Malantown shirt, which I think will do with fans who really get behind.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_00]: They've really kind of turned Malantown into a folklore hero along with Sam Carrick.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_00]: So welcome to Malantown.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out, kind of paying homage to welcome the Palm and Ville, they were the same numbers.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_00]: So that's probably the, I like that one a lot.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_00]: Personally, I don't definitely buy myself that one.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then obviously,
- 48:12[SPEAKER_00]: You all saw this image and floating around on Twitter from that game where Crabs jumped against the glass and he was looking into the eyes of a fan, you know, paying homage to that blue and gold till I die.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_00]: These are all available at 26 shirts.com.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: Please, each purchase, your supporting a local fundraiser, whatever fundraiser they're currently, they're currently
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: So each individual purchase from our teams or you are helping somebody in need and of course the lion king shirt it comes on all these shirts coming t shirts both fit it and 100% cotton two different styles t shirts becoming crew nucks and hoodies as well can't go wrong.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: with the Lion King.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_00]: I have to see an already have that one too.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's my favorite design personally.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and yeah, I'm going to be more to come to.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have our own like two goalies one Mike Merch on the here eventually too, which I'm pretty stoked for.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_00]: So if you if you're looking for some sabers swag.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_00]: Some from a locally owned business and you want to pitch in and help somebody in need.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure you get over to 26 shirts.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_00]: You go to the collections tab here.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you find friends.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: You go to two go-ways one mic and there we are.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, we'll kick it over to inside the locker room, brought to you by Fatty Beer company again before we get out of here, post game quotes, brought to you by normally it's Bryan Kozeal, but I think tonight it may have been, uh, he was off tonight.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's what I thought, um, but it may have been Derek Kramer.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: I was listening to the pregame show and he was he was hosting that.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I would assume it, but it would be Kramer.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_00]: Let me see if he actually tweeted out if not that I'm completely lying to you all.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_00]: And there won't be any of those came quotes.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: Um, No, it doesn't look like it.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'll look at Harrington and see if he tweeted him out.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: If not, I guess we'll just give our sponsor one more shout out.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I did see some some quotes.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_00]: I did want to, um,
- 50:15[SPEAKER_00]: from Alex talk on the Sabers fans.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_00]: They're all in, they got our backs and they're excited, they deserve this.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_00]: So you love to see that hearing that from one of our captains and just acknowledging how bought in this fan base is, so again, we didn't get many quotes from the locker room because again,
- 50:35[SPEAKER_00]: our boy Brian Kozy was off tonight, but he did, my character did also follow up again on it.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_00]: They were in fact, we want Hagle chance coming from the 300 level.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_00]: So you love to see that.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that is really creative.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm happy savers.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: What are you watching over there?
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: The end of the National Championship game.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: Michigan's up 6763 with 13 seconds left.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like they're going to win, but they just missed two free throw.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I was interested to see if you can could make another miraculous comeback, but it doesn't seem like it.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_00]: Derek, yes, you can buy one if you live in Canada.
