- 0:43Speaker 6: I just want to say, how to hear you?
- 0:45Speaker 4: We say this every time we see it, step it up,
- 0:49Speaker 4: saying hello, We're basically just like get out.
- 0:54Speaker 7: I love you guys, I need you guys with me everywhere.
- 0:57Speaker 7: Such a week, everyone had it.
- 0:58Speaker 6: It's on record. So whether you try to give me
- 1:01Speaker 6: a restraining order, how you asked for this.
- 1:04Speaker 7: Yeah I do. I do have a lunch of icebects
- 1:06Speaker 7: after this. So that is why we're quite dressed up today.
- 1:09Speaker 7: I was going to wear another outfit for you guys
- 1:11Speaker 7: because I thought it was like, it was like this
- 1:13Speaker 7: burg and you read out fit because I thought it
- 1:14Speaker 7: was a bit on brand for you guys, but I
- 1:16Speaker 7: just didn't have time.
- 1:17Speaker 5: That's okay, changes.
- 1:20Speaker 7: Next time, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll save it. I'll save it.
- 1:24Speaker 2: But before we get into it, we love to start
- 1:26Speaker 2: these episodes with our life lesson.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Of the week.
- 1:29Speaker 4: My life lesson of the week is that whatever things
- 1:32Speaker 4: about you that somebody else finds annoying, those are the
- 1:36Speaker 4: things that other people love about you and find charming.
- 1:39Speaker 2: That's so similar mine, well, always on the same.
- 1:44Speaker 6: I don't know how it is.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I don't know what witchy powers there always are in
- 1:47Speaker 2: the world, but sound I will like have the same
- 1:49Speaker 2: we don't talk about it before the episode, and then.
- 1:53Speaker 6: Similar thing.
- 1:53Speaker 5: I love that.
- 1:54Speaker 6: Yeah, but mine was from a book that I've been reading.
- 1:58Speaker 2: We'll be listening to the audiobook. But anyway, it was
- 2:01Speaker 2: not even the main point, but it was just one
- 2:03Speaker 2: sentence in this book that really stood out to me,
- 2:05Speaker 2: and it was just the saying I don't need you
- 2:07Speaker 2: to understand me.
- 2:09Speaker 6: And I thought it.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Was so freeing, and it's such a freeing thought to
- 2:12Speaker 2: have in the back of your brain because I really
- 2:14Speaker 2: like I feel like I need anchor thoughts sometimes when
- 2:17Speaker 2: like my brain runs away from me, and having these
- 2:19Speaker 2: anchor thoughts or anchor sayings or whatever it is to
- 2:22Speaker 2: kind of pull you back into reality is so helpful
- 2:26Speaker 2: of those moments where maybe you're having like a disagreement
- 2:28Speaker 2: with a coworker and you have a difference of opinion
- 2:31Speaker 2: or whatever it is, like maybe you and your friend
- 2:34Speaker 2: aren't agreeing on something, or maybe that's just some fucking
- 2:37Speaker 2: rogue person who's being an absolute worst human being in
- 2:40Speaker 2: the world.
- 2:40Speaker 6: Just saying I don't need you to understand me is.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Such a good self security saying to like really instill
- 2:48Speaker 2: what your beliefs are and your values are, because you
- 2:50Speaker 2: don't have to live for other people. Yeah, and yeah
- 2:53Speaker 2: that's my face.
- 2:54Speaker 7: I agree to disagree, not everyone has to agree. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 7: that's okay. And you know it's not your job to
- 2:59Speaker 7: explain to everyone.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought of my I thought of oh yeah, yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 5: so I was.
- 3:06Speaker 7: I was talking to my friend the other day and
- 3:09Speaker 7: we're going on a walk and she like, she works
- 3:14Speaker 7: like a nine to five office job, and.
- 3:17Speaker 5: She like she likes it, but she's like, oh, i'd
- 3:21Speaker 5: like I'd love to be doing what you're doing, you know.
- 3:24Speaker 7: And I'm like, well, you've got to start posting that,
- 3:26Speaker 7: and she's like, I'm scared. I'm scared, Like it's embarrassing,
- 3:29Speaker 7: it's cringe. I'm like, yeah, it was embarrassing and gringe
- 3:32Speaker 7: one day when I started posting too it probably saying
- 3:35Speaker 7: for you guys, you guys probably felt a sane honestly, Yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 7: And I'm like, I feel like the life lesson is just.
- 3:44Speaker 5: To post that video, post that photo.
- 3:48Speaker 7: You have to get through the cringe, you know, suffer
- 3:50Speaker 7: through the cringe and look what can come from it.
- 3:53Speaker 7: Because when you're you know, when you're doing your live
- 3:56Speaker 7: show or you're you're hosting an event, it's not so
- 3:58Speaker 7: cringe anymore, is it, you know?
- 4:00Speaker 5: True?
- 4:01Speaker 3: Everybody has to start somewhere.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Yeah, cringe is just a construct too. Yeah, like who
- 4:06Speaker 2: actually fucking kicks.
- 4:08Speaker 7: Exactly as you were saying before, what one person might
- 4:11Speaker 7: think is cringe, one person might think is amazing and great.
- 4:15Speaker 7: So I think life lesson is pushed through the gringe.
- 4:18Speaker 6: Yes, just go for it.
- 4:19Speaker 5: You know what's that saying?
- 4:21Speaker 3: Success is on the other side of cringe mountain?
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I said that, But we'll find it, and
- 4:27Speaker 2: we'll credit her in the in the show notes. But
- 4:29Speaker 2: I think that's exactly what you're saying exactly.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I think.
- 4:34Speaker 7: And I think like any you look at, like the
- 4:36Speaker 7: most successful people in the world, you know, they probably
- 4:38Speaker 7: had like cringey failed businesses, cringey you know, like old
- 4:44Speaker 7: videos Kim Kay cringey, like you know, first season of
- 4:48Speaker 7: Kardashians or that. You go back and watch that, it's
- 4:51Speaker 7: all like so scripted and you can tell but at
- 4:53Speaker 7: the time, you know, the viewer wasn't very like educated
- 4:56Speaker 7: on how that stuff works, and no one knew.
- 4:58Speaker 5: But it's like, yeah, I.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Think it's part of the process.
- 5:01Speaker 7: Everyone has a cringe moment. I think anyone who's anything
- 5:06Speaker 7: has had so many cringe moments.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think that's such a freeing thought to have.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Our friend Jim always says that anyone that's doing better
- 5:12Speaker 2: than you will never judge you, exactly, so as well, like,
- 5:15Speaker 2: if anyone is judging you just know that that's not
- 5:18Speaker 2: someone that you need to be worrying about anyway.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's appreciation have their own security. So yeah, but Babbie,
- 5:24Speaker 4: all right, let's get into the episode.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Mitch. For any of our.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Chicks who aren't following you already, Can you give us
- 5:36Speaker 4: a little TLDR about who you are and what you do.
- 5:39Speaker 7: Yeah, so my name is Mitch. I do social media.
- 5:45Speaker 7: I'm trans I do a lot of fashion and beauty
- 5:48Speaker 7: lifestyle content and yeah, that's that's my name really.
- 5:54Speaker 3: The elevator Pitchy.
- 5:56Speaker 4: So we've got you on to talk about how to
- 5:58Speaker 4: live your most authentic life because that's exactly what you do,
- 6:02Speaker 4: and I think that's why so many people love you
- 6:04Speaker 4: and resonate with your content online. So one question that
- 6:09Speaker 4: we did get from the chicks is how to be
- 6:12Speaker 4: yourself if you're unsure who you want to be and
- 6:16Speaker 4: the things that you like and what you want out
- 6:18Speaker 4: of your life.
- 6:19Speaker 7: I think that's, yeah, that's a hard question because I
- 6:22Speaker 7: think like when I was younger, when I was in school,
- 6:26Speaker 7: I think deep down I did know who I wanted
- 6:30Speaker 7: to be, but it was the outside opinions and or judgment,
- 6:35Speaker 7: or fear of judgment, maybe not even necessarily judgment that
- 6:39Speaker 7: had already happened, just the fear of the future judgment.
- 6:42Speaker 7: So I feel like sometimes I would, you know, like
- 6:46Speaker 7: I'd be like, oh, I'm not going to weigh that
- 6:48Speaker 7: I'm not going to do this.
- 6:49Speaker 5: I'm not going to.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Say this because I was like worried what people would think.
- 6:54Speaker 7: But I think I don't I don't know if there
- 6:58Speaker 7: is a I don't know if there is a way
- 7:00Speaker 7: to speed up that process. I think really, you know,
- 7:06Speaker 7: it's such a stereotypical ants about really time like really
- 7:11Speaker 7: does heal everything? And I feel like as time goes on,
- 7:15Speaker 7: you get so much more comfortable with yourself, and as
- 7:18Speaker 7: you as you get older and mature as well, you
- 7:20Speaker 7: get so much more comfortable with yourself as well. So
- 7:25Speaker 7: I think I think also there's there's no rush to
- 7:30Speaker 7: find out who you are, Like you can try out
- 7:33Speaker 7: different things. You can you know, try and you I'll
- 7:36Speaker 7: be try this, try that, where this, wear that, and
- 7:39Speaker 7: like nothing's permanent.
- 7:40Speaker 6: You know, that process is never finished, though, is it ever?
- 7:43Speaker 2: That's how I look at it, And it's like you're
- 7:47Speaker 2: never gonna look at yourself and go okay done and
- 7:51Speaker 2: if you did, how you never you never fully cooked exactly,
- 7:54Speaker 2: You're always cooking let it you're sing away like like
- 8:00Speaker 2: that process is never done. And if you feel like
- 8:02Speaker 2: it's done, it's fucking not. No.
- 8:05Speaker 7: Yeah, if you feel like you're done progressing in life,
- 8:08Speaker 7: then you're mistaken.
- 8:11Speaker 5: You need bigger goals. Then.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Yeah, figuring out what you want is such an overwhelming
- 8:16Speaker 2: thing as well, because you think you have to know
- 8:19Speaker 2: what that is, and sometimes.
- 8:20Speaker 5: It's just trial and error absolutely.
- 8:23Speaker 2: And being like oh I like this, Oh you know
- 8:25Speaker 2: what I wasn't fun anything like that.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Yeah, you can take it in small steps as well, because,
- 8:30Speaker 4: like you were saying, you know, when you were younger,
- 8:33Speaker 4: you're thinking, I want to wear this, but I won't
- 8:35Speaker 4: wear it because people will say X y Z. But
- 8:40Speaker 4: those small actions of wearing the outfit that you want,
- 8:43Speaker 4: or chasing the career that you've always dreamed of, or
- 8:48Speaker 4: posting that TikTok, these are all the small things that
- 8:51Speaker 4: will ladder up to help you figure out who you
- 8:53Speaker 4: want to be and what you want to do with
- 8:55Speaker 4: your life.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Doesn't have to be like this big.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Huge reason being like, wake up one day, I know
- 9:01Speaker 4: who I am and I'm showing the world this is
- 9:03Speaker 4: exactly who I love, exactly.
- 9:05Speaker 6: I would love that. Where do I take that? Like
- 9:08Speaker 6: red pill?
- 9:10Speaker 4: But it is those small little steps along the way
- 9:13Speaker 4: that are really scary, but they're empowering in that way.
- 9:16Speaker 7: And I think also there is so many people that
- 9:19Speaker 7: have had a they have had, you know, all their
- 9:21Speaker 7: goals written down, set out, and then they get there
- 9:24Speaker 7: and they're like, I don't like this, I'm not happy.
- 9:26Speaker 7: So many people get their dream job and they're like
- 9:29Speaker 7: I hate it, or what's next?
- 9:32Speaker 4: That you tick that goal and then you're like, okay,
- 9:35Speaker 4: what now?
- 9:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it's so true.
- 9:37Speaker 2: You have those moments where you're like, I thought this
- 9:38Speaker 2: is what I wanted, and then you feel that guilt
- 9:41Speaker 2: because you maybe sacrifice the law or put your happiness
- 9:43Speaker 2: aside to have something that you thought you wanted and
- 9:45Speaker 2: it wasn't necessarily it. But another really popular question that
- 9:50Speaker 2: we wanted to ask you was do you ever have
- 9:52Speaker 2: those moments of self doubt or imposter syndrome? And how
- 9:55Speaker 2: do you navigate it?
- 9:57Speaker 7: I definitely I have had the moments of self doubt.
- 10:02Speaker 7: I remember on Anzac Day actually I was out with
- 10:06Speaker 7: my friends and there was this guy I was talking
- 10:10Speaker 7: to and I we'd actually spoken to each other maybe
- 10:16Speaker 7: four or five years ago, and he was like, I'm
- 10:18Speaker 7: not ready for a relationship back then, and then we'd
- 10:21Speaker 7: reconnected and he was like I'm ready, Like I'm going
- 10:24Speaker 7: to you blah blah blah, and we're talking for ages.
- 10:28Speaker 7: And then whilst we were out on Anzac Day, he
- 10:32Speaker 7: sent a message and he was like, I've like had
- 10:36Speaker 7: a look through your Instagram and your TikTok and I'm
- 10:39Speaker 7: just like not comfortable with what you do. Like I
- 10:42Speaker 7: don't agree with it. I don't stand for it. He's like, what, yeah, what.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Your run clubs pr on boxing? Y.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't agree the Sunday recep one here for
- 10:57Speaker 4: at all because the iy Ales.
- 11:01Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, he said, Hey, Gordeous, listen, I just want
- 11:04Speaker 7: to be super honest. I think you're awesome and a
- 11:08Speaker 7: really lovely person from what I've seen so far. But
- 11:11Speaker 7: I did just have a look at your insta presence
- 11:13Speaker 7: and I'm not totally cool with the idea of dating
- 11:15Speaker 7: an influencer. It's just not for me. I don't have
- 11:19Speaker 7: social media, as you know, and the primary reason for
- 11:22Speaker 7: that is that I have a fundamental problem with what
- 11:25Speaker 7: it has done to society and it feels hypocritical. Slash
- 11:29Speaker 7: doesn't sit right with me to completely ignore that principle
- 11:32Speaker 7: when it comes to dating, given that who you date,
- 11:35Speaker 7: given that who you date is a reflection of who
- 11:37Speaker 7: you are. I hope you understand, and I am sorry
- 11:41Speaker 7: if this came across as blunt. I just wanted to
- 11:43Speaker 7: be direct with you and I wish you all the
- 11:46Speaker 7: luck in the world, not that you need it.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Oh my god, did you respond?
- 11:50Speaker 5: I did. I sent like a really long message back. Yeah.
- 11:53Speaker 7: So that was upsetting and I did have a moment
- 11:58Speaker 7: of doubt then, and I was like right upset because
- 12:03Speaker 7: I was like, is this what I meant to be doing?
- 12:06Speaker 5: Should I be doing this?
- 12:07Speaker 7: I think for him to say that, like, you know,
- 12:11Speaker 7: he has a fundamental problem with what social media has
- 12:14Speaker 7: done to society. I think every industry, everyone's job, no
- 12:20Speaker 7: one's job is without problems or issues, or every single
- 12:25Speaker 7: industry in the world has you know, some negative impact
- 12:30Speaker 7: exactly exactly everything.
- 12:33Speaker 3: But for him to kind of stand on that pedestal
- 12:35Speaker 3: and put you down.
- 12:37Speaker 2: As if you're also contributing negatively to society, it's just wrong.
- 12:41Speaker 7: Yeah, and yeah, that was that was like, I think
- 12:45Speaker 7: that's the part that was like offensive and hurtful, that
- 12:48Speaker 7: he was like saying that I was contributing to society
- 12:51Speaker 7: in a negative way.
- 12:53Speaker 2: You know, that would make anyone feel like shit yeah,
- 12:57Speaker 2: so how did you get through that?
- 12:59Speaker 5: Well?
- 13:00Speaker 7: Well, I sent a really long textback to want me
- 13:03Speaker 7: to read out the text back on.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Only if you're comfortable, I'll read out.
- 13:06Speaker 7: I read out this part so I said, I do
- 13:08Speaker 7: agree with you that there are negative effects on society
- 13:11Speaker 7: due to social media. However, I try my absolute best
- 13:14Speaker 7: every day not to contribute to those negative aspects and
- 13:18Speaker 7: strive to contribute to only the positive. Although I do
- 13:22Speaker 7: not expect or want anyone to compromise their principles, I
- 13:25Speaker 7: do think you may be naive to many positive elements
- 13:29Speaker 7: that do come from social media, as you are not
- 13:32Speaker 7: a social media user.
- 13:34Speaker 6: You wouldn't know.
- 13:35Speaker 7: Yeah, And then I said, there's good and evil in
- 13:39Speaker 7: every career and job and industry, including yours. However, I
- 13:43Speaker 7: would never judge you so harshly on the career path you've.
- 13:46Speaker 6: Chosen, Sla Slay.
- 13:49Speaker 7: So yeah, I absolutely had a moment of doubt there.
- 13:52Speaker 7: I was quite upset, definitely questioned it. And then I
- 13:56Speaker 7: think I remember I went to sleep that na I
- 14:00Speaker 7: like cried myself to sleep. I think I think I'd
- 14:06Speaker 7: also been through like a breakup not.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Too long before that as well. So everything's you know,
- 14:13Speaker 5: it's like feel yeah.
- 14:16Speaker 7: And then I woke up the next morning, went to
- 14:18Speaker 7: run club, went for a walok, spoke to people, was
- 14:22Speaker 7: in the sun running, everyone was hot and I was
- 14:26Speaker 7: good again. I was just like, no, like, I love
- 14:29Speaker 7: what I do. I'm so happy. I've wanted to do
- 14:32Speaker 7: what I'm doing now for years. Like if you told
- 14:35Speaker 7: sixteen year old me that I'd be doing what I'm
- 14:38Speaker 7: doing now, I would have never believed you. Like, I
- 14:40Speaker 7: have so many moments every day where I'm like, sixteen
- 14:43Speaker 7: year old, sixteen year old me would die at this,
- 14:45Speaker 7: And like in my group chat, even my friends will
- 14:48Speaker 7: send things that they've seen me do or post They're like,
- 14:50Speaker 7: oh my god, sixteen year old us would be dying
- 14:53Speaker 7: at the Reasons table, you know, yes, yeah that so.
- 15:00Speaker 6: I think that's such a great tick.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah, in those moments where you do feel self doubt,
- 15:04Speaker 2: to think about like the little you, that would.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Be like exactly, holy fuck, yeahah really cool.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Yeah, and like who would be so proud of the
- 15:12Speaker 4: life that you're living.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I also love that.
- 15:14Speaker 4: The next day you just you got up, you went
- 15:17Speaker 4: to run club, You surrounded yourself with people who were
- 15:20Speaker 4: going to hype you off and you didn't let that
- 15:23Speaker 4: drag you down. And I think those moments, whatever they
- 15:26Speaker 4: are for anybody in life, are so important to tap into.
- 15:29Speaker 4: And I wanted to ask, what are those moments in
- 15:31Speaker 4: life that make you feel the most alive and most
- 15:35Speaker 4: authentically yourself?
- 15:37Speaker 7: I think I love I think like working out is
- 15:41Speaker 7: really important for me. Like every time I work out,
- 15:44Speaker 7: I or like go for a run, I just have
- 15:48Speaker 7: such mental clarity and I just feel so like I
- 15:53Speaker 7: could literally have one opinion on something and go for
- 15:56Speaker 7: a run an hour later, I'm like.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Okay, it's not that bad. Yeah, it's not that big
- 16:02Speaker 5: of a deal, guys, you know.
- 16:04Speaker 7: And I think I feel like I run just resets everything,
- 16:08Speaker 7: do you know what I mean? So definitely, like working
- 16:11Speaker 7: out is very important for me. I think like social
- 16:15Speaker 7: interaction is very important as well, especially I don't know
- 16:18Speaker 7: how you guys feel, but I feel like in my
- 16:22Speaker 7: job because I like work for myself and like I
- 16:24Speaker 7: have a team that I work with, but I don't
- 16:26Speaker 7: I'm not in the office with them every day, do
- 16:28Speaker 7: you know what I mean? Like most of it's like
- 16:30Speaker 7: a zoom call or a call or a text or
- 16:33Speaker 7: a voice note, Like I'm not seeing them in person.
- 16:36Speaker 7: So I think if you have an isolating job, you
- 16:40Speaker 7: really have to make that effort to have that social
- 16:43Speaker 7: interaction because I could sit at home all day by myself,
- 16:47Speaker 7: like on my phone doing work.
- 16:49Speaker 5: But you know then you're like, why my sad?
- 16:52Speaker 6: Literally exactly we were exactly.
- 16:54Speaker 7: Yeah, So I think you need to like consciously make
- 16:57Speaker 7: that effort to go out and socially interact with people.
- 17:01Speaker 7: And if you do work in a job where you
- 17:03Speaker 7: like are in an office and you are around people
- 17:05Speaker 7: all the time, so maybe those people don't make you
- 17:07Speaker 7: feel very good, you know, like maybe you need to
- 17:10Speaker 7: see someone outside of that environment.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Yeah, genuine connections.
- 17:15Speaker 7: Yeah, not all social interaction is positive interaction.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Yeah, Sadly, how do you surround yourself with people who
- 17:23Speaker 4: are genuine and going to make you feel fulfilled in
- 17:26Speaker 4: that part of your life?
- 17:28Speaker 7: I think, I think a really important thing to do
- 17:32Speaker 7: and what I do a lot of the time after
- 17:35Speaker 7: I've spent time with someone, when I'm driving home or
- 17:37Speaker 7: when I'm having a shower, after we've like spent that
- 17:40Speaker 7: time together, I'm like, I always think about, how did
- 17:43Speaker 7: that make me feel? Do I feel good after that interaction?
- 17:47Speaker 7: Do I feel happy. Do I feel good about myself?
- 17:49Speaker 7: Do I feel positive? Do I feel fulfilled? Or do
- 17:52Speaker 7: I feel exhausted? It's my cup empty? Do I like?
- 17:57Speaker 7: Do I feel like?
- 17:57Speaker 5: Okay?
- 17:58Speaker 7: I don't need to see them for a few weeks,
- 18:00Speaker 7: you know, And I think you really need to listen
- 18:03Speaker 7: to yourself and your body about how you feel after
- 18:07Speaker 7: you spend time with someone. And I think that will
- 18:09Speaker 7: tell you everything you need to know. You know, like,
- 18:12Speaker 7: and if there's like a comment they said that you
- 18:14Speaker 7: keep thinking about again and again being like why did
- 18:17Speaker 7: they say that?
- 18:17Speaker 5: That was really like and rude? Like it wasn't nice?
- 18:21Speaker 7: I think then if that keeps coming up in your
- 18:25Speaker 7: in your mind, then probably like that didn't make you
- 18:30Speaker 7: feel good, that interaction didn't make you feel good, so
- 18:32Speaker 7: you need to address that, or maybe you need to
- 18:36Speaker 7: spend less time with that person or part ties with
- 18:39Speaker 7: that I agree.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I don't know if this is a naive way to
- 18:41Speaker 2: think about it, but I just don't ever think friendship
- 18:43Speaker 2: should be hard, because friendship is like a choice.
- 18:46Speaker 5: It's not great.
- 18:47Speaker 2: You're not married, you're not related by blood, which I
- 18:50Speaker 2: still don't think you should have to force either of
- 18:52Speaker 2: those two things just because of those aspects. Either I agree,
- 18:55Speaker 2: but I'm like, you should never walk away from a
- 18:58Speaker 2: friendship feeling like this is really hard. Obviously there's going
- 19:02Speaker 2: to be ebbs and flows, like if your friend's going
- 19:04Speaker 2: through something, people you've had a confrontation, you've had a
- 19:07Speaker 2: confrontation or anything like that.
- 19:08Speaker 6: But like if you're just like, fuck, this is a.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Lot of work.
- 19:11Speaker 3: That shouldn't be the consistent feeling that you have, there's.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Different there's different ways to look at it, Like look
- 19:15Speaker 2: at a long distance friend, like that's work because you've
- 19:17Speaker 2: got to put in more effort. Effort is different from
- 19:20Speaker 2: something being difficult, you know.
- 19:22Speaker 5: So I completely agree with that.
- 19:24Speaker 6: And there's definitely like.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Been moments which I'm sure you would have had as well,
- 19:27Speaker 2: where you go, okay, like exactly what you said, be
- 19:29Speaker 2: like I might leave a couple of weeks in between the.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Next How would you deal with someone.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That if they made a comment or you've left and
- 19:38Speaker 2: they've maybe not made you feel very nice about yourself?
- 19:41Speaker 6: How would you manage that.
- 19:43Speaker 7: I'm someone that I never like to react in the moment.
- 19:49Speaker 7: I'm a very calm person when it does come to
- 19:52Speaker 7: like confrontation or anything, and I really like to think
- 19:57Speaker 7: about very carefully what I'm going to say to someone.
- 20:00Speaker 7: Be sure I say it as much as you can
- 20:03Speaker 7: say sorry, and you can say I didn't mean it,
- 20:05Speaker 7: or you know that I was just angry at the moment.
- 20:09Speaker 7: They'll never forget those words, and you can't. You can't
- 20:12Speaker 7: take words back because you've said them. They're out there
- 20:15Speaker 7: and even if you say, oh, I didn't mean it,
- 20:18Speaker 7: in that person's head, they will always have that in
- 20:22Speaker 7: the back of their mind.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Yeah, but did you really mean that? How you feel
- 20:26Speaker 5: about me?
- 20:27Speaker 7: So I think I always try to be really careful,
- 20:32Speaker 7: and I'm not perfect. There's definitely been times where I've
- 20:35Speaker 7: said and done things that I don't mean, of course,
- 20:38Speaker 7: but for the most part, I really try to think
- 20:41Speaker 7: about what I'm going to say to someone before I
- 20:44Speaker 7: do say it.
- 20:44Speaker 5: So I always sleep on it.
- 20:46Speaker 7: I'll never talk when I'm like you're in like when
- 20:50Speaker 7: I'm like, that's the moment's like going off, and.
- 20:52Speaker 3: It's like, you know, to sleep on it yourself space.
- 20:56Speaker 7: And then so much of the time you do wake
- 20:58Speaker 7: up the next day or you do go or run
- 21:00Speaker 7: and you're like you do have a different people.
- 21:02Speaker 6: Like, oh, I'm actually not that upset about it.
- 21:05Speaker 3: You're like, oh wait, shit.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're so glad that you didn't say anything.
- 21:09Speaker 2: You're like, oh, thank god, and then nothing is worth it.
- 21:13Speaker 6: Then when you did say something and you wake up
- 21:15Speaker 6: the next morning, you're like.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Shit, yeah, yeah, exact anxiety.
- 21:20Speaker 5: Yeah yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 7: Another thing I always do is I never not well,
- 21:24Speaker 7: I can't say never, but I always try to not
- 21:27Speaker 7: yell or raise my voice when I'm having a confrontation.
- 21:29Speaker 7: I always try to say, really calm because when you're
- 21:33Speaker 7: yelling and your body like is in that adrenaline mode
- 21:37Speaker 7: and you're both yelling at each other, no one, neither
- 21:39Speaker 7: of you are actually listening to what each other is
- 21:41Speaker 7: saying or taking in each other's points, and you actually
- 21:46Speaker 7: can't think clearly when you're yelling.
- 21:49Speaker 2: I wanted to ask you though, because I know you've
- 21:51Speaker 2: got your VIP, you've got places to go, people see today.
- 21:55Speaker 2: But I feel like every time we see you, sal
- 21:59Speaker 2: and I speaking of yelling, just screaming.
- 22:02Speaker 6: At you about how beautiful you look.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Every single time, being like why no, go away in
- 22:09Speaker 2: like the best most flirting way possible, like it's flirting.
- 22:13Speaker 5: Yeah, no, it's always taken that way.
- 22:15Speaker 6: Yeah, as it should please, because that's what it is.
- 22:18Speaker 2: But how does living authentically influence your fashion and your
- 22:21Speaker 2: style because you're always sec and slate.
- 22:24Speaker 7: Thank you, Joel. I think I'm very fussy with what
- 22:28Speaker 7: I wear. I won't wear anything I don't feel comfortable in. Like,
- 22:32Speaker 7: I've had a few situations before where I've been working
- 22:35Speaker 7: with a brand or I'm hosting an event and they
- 22:38Speaker 7: want me to wear something and I don't want to
- 22:40Speaker 7: wear it, and they're really pushing for it, and I'm like, no, guys,
- 22:43Speaker 7: I'm sorry, that's not me. You have hired me to
- 22:48Speaker 7: come and host your event, so I'm going to come
- 22:50Speaker 7: as me, do you know what I mean? Like, I
- 22:53Speaker 7: think so much of being comfortable whilst you're out is
- 22:57Speaker 7: how you feel and how you look. And if you
- 22:59Speaker 7: don't like how you look, you're not going to have
- 23:02Speaker 7: a good time. You're not going to feel comfortable, you're
- 23:04Speaker 7: not going to enjoy yourself. And that's what I've said
- 23:06Speaker 7: in the past to like when people have tried to
- 23:10Speaker 7: put me in things I don't want to wear, I've
- 23:13Speaker 7: been like, I'm not going to have a good time.
- 23:15Speaker 7: I'm not going to enjoy myself. I'm not going to
- 23:18Speaker 7: like how I look. I'm not going to feel confident.
- 23:20Speaker 7: I'm not going to feel like me. So I think
- 23:22Speaker 7: you always. I think like I've always just stuck to
- 23:25Speaker 7: what I feel comfortable in. And by comfortable, I don't
- 23:28Speaker 7: mean physically comfortable, because I've actually never been physically comfortable
- 23:32Speaker 7: in an outfit. All my outfits are very uncomfortable.
- 23:36Speaker 5: I'm like the shoes.
- 23:38Speaker 7: The shoes are the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn.
- 23:41Speaker 7: But I don't feel physically comfortable in them, but I
- 23:45Speaker 7: feel like they're me, you know, I love them.
- 23:49Speaker 5: But the brand exactly.
- 23:51Speaker 4: That makes you feel inside And if you feel like
- 23:55Speaker 4: you're representing who you are inside on the outside, and
- 23:59Speaker 4: if something in that is compromised, then.
- 24:02Speaker 3: You don't feel like you and you're own a costume.
- 24:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I feel like there's like characters you aligned to in life,
- 24:07Speaker 2: like whether they're fictional characters or whatever, and it's like
- 24:11Speaker 2: we have the same thing. So like if it looks
- 24:14Speaker 2: like it could be like Daisy Drones and the six
- 24:17Speaker 2: more practical magic, then I'm like, yeah, that's me. Whereas
- 24:20Speaker 2: like rock Star of h Yeah, whereas like if and
- 24:23Speaker 2: that's how that's what I would say to people when
- 24:26Speaker 2: they're like, I don't know what my style is, and like,
- 24:27Speaker 2: what characters do you think or a vibe because it's
- 24:30Speaker 2: like you could look at sex in the city or.
- 24:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I always I think my characters are like Chris Jenner, yes,
- 24:38Speaker 7: carry Bradshaw K.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I can definitely see the character.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, because I love a good like power, so
- 24:49Speaker 4: like a stronger.
- 24:51Speaker 7: I'm obsessed with a blazer, yeah, and a heel, like yeah,
- 24:55Speaker 7: a blazer and a lubreton.
- 24:59Speaker 2: I love.
- 25:03Speaker 7: I have like that carry like fetish of shoes, Like
- 25:06Speaker 7: I just love shoes. I don't care how uncomfortable they are,
- 25:10Speaker 7: how high they are, Like, I just love I just
- 25:12Speaker 7: love shoes.
- 25:14Speaker 2: You're better than me, I know, we say, and like
- 25:16Speaker 2: our sneakers and cowboys stand. I have a list on
- 25:20Speaker 2: my phone and it's like, by the way, I want
- 25:22Speaker 2: to preface this with the fact that I think heels
- 25:24Speaker 2: are fucking stunning.
- 25:26Speaker 6: I am just an old man and that like, I
- 25:30Speaker 6: have a list on my phone.
- 25:31Speaker 2: It's I do not buy or I will ruin you,
- 25:34Speaker 2: and it's a letter to me from me and on
- 25:37Speaker 2: there it goes heels you can't fucking walk in them.
- 25:40Speaker 6: Anyway, and I'm like, fuck, she's so right.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I'm like she's so real for that and then has
- 25:44Speaker 3: the strength.
- 25:45Speaker 6: But there's also boots.
- 25:47Speaker 2: You have six pairs, And I'm like, fine, yeah, I read,
- 25:51Speaker 2: I read that letter.
- 25:52Speaker 5: From probably do.
- 25:53Speaker 1: But it's your brand.
- 25:55Speaker 6: It's exactly my job I have, sorry, exactly.
- 26:03Speaker 3: It'll be in your performance review okay, conducted by us. Now,
- 26:06Speaker 3: all right, so we did mention.
- 26:08Speaker 4: It briefly before, but we love your Sunday Reset contents.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Can you talk us through how important ritual is to
- 26:19Speaker 4: feel like you're living your best life?
- 26:22Speaker 7: Yes, this is like such a good question for me
- 26:25Speaker 7: because I am, like, I am the definition of like
- 26:29Speaker 7: clean house, clean mind. I think it's so important to
- 26:33Speaker 7: me my environment. So I so what you guys are
- 26:39Speaker 7: referencing on my Sunday Reset videos where I will film
- 26:41Speaker 7: myself resetting my room from the week, because sometimes if
- 26:46Speaker 7: I have a really busy week and I've got like
- 26:50Speaker 7: events every every day, or you know, I've got to
- 26:53Speaker 7: do hair and makeup, or I'm like shooting something my
- 26:56Speaker 7: like placing, it really messy because when I get like
- 26:59Speaker 7: I am like a CD clean person in like my
- 27:02Speaker 7: everyday life. But when I get messy. Sorry, when I
- 27:05Speaker 7: get ready, I am a tornado like all my friends,
- 27:09Speaker 7: Like you should see my hotel rooms when I'm like
- 27:12Speaker 7: when I'm getting ready for an event or something like,
- 27:14Speaker 7: my friends come in and there like, oh my god,
- 27:17Speaker 7: you've been in here for two hours, what's happened. But
- 27:22Speaker 7: I am like also the cleanest person ever, Like I
- 27:25Speaker 7: love everything to be in its place. I hate losing
- 27:30Speaker 7: an item in your own house.
- 27:33Speaker 5: I'm like, no, I'm not.
- 27:35Speaker 7: I know where every bobby pin is in my house,
- 27:37Speaker 7: you know, Like I.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Love that I'm going to come to your house when
- 27:42Speaker 2: I need a Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 5: So I think so. Yeah.
- 27:46Speaker 7: I love to do like an end of the week
- 27:49Speaker 7: reset to start the week. I think it's so cleansing mentally, emotionally, physically.
- 27:58Speaker 7: You feel accomplished, you feel like you've done something. Like
- 28:01Speaker 7: sometimes you've been laying in bed all Sunday and you're like,
- 28:04Speaker 7: I've done nothing all day. You got to get up
- 28:07Speaker 7: until your reset because you'll feel so much better.
- 28:09Speaker 1: So much better.
- 28:10Speaker 5: Put a candle on, yeah, and.
- 28:14Speaker 7: Always got to start the week off with the fresh sheet,
- 28:16Speaker 7: a vacuum floor. I think it just sets the tone
- 28:19Speaker 7: of the week.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Once you do it.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Once.
- 28:22Speaker 5: Yeah, you're hooked.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yeah, you're like, oh, this does feel nice. And it's
- 28:26Speaker 2: like for some people, like for me, I'm not necessarily
- 28:29Speaker 2: someone that enjoys the process of cleaning.
- 28:32Speaker 6: I enjoy the result product. Yeah, yes, I'm like, okay, yeah,
- 28:35Speaker 6: that's why I do this.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Where it is so you like the whole I like
- 28:38Speaker 4: the whole thing, a whole cleaning process.
- 28:42Speaker 5: Like it too. Yet you put a podcast.
- 28:44Speaker 3: In, yeah, get a goodlist.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think kind of anchoring it to a
- 28:49Speaker 4: day of the week and making it a ritual and
- 28:53Speaker 4: romanticizing that and making it your Sunday reset, I think
- 28:56Speaker 4: will really help you whether or not you enjoy the
- 28:59Speaker 4: experience or you die.
- 29:00Speaker 2: You can customize it, yeah you want it to be.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I saw some chick on TikTok. She does her reset
- 29:08Speaker 2: to the time that it takes for her washing, like.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Her sheets to wash.
- 29:12Speaker 2: But she's like, while they're washing, I'll do my like
- 29:16Speaker 2: reset my clean and then I'm done.
- 29:19Speaker 5: That's smart.
- 29:19Speaker 7: Yeah, when you put your food in the microwave and
- 29:23Speaker 7: you're like, all right, I've got to get my Netflix
- 29:25Speaker 7: set up, I've got to get my water ready by
- 29:28Speaker 7: the time the microwave is done, I'm.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Like, everything must be done. So it's like, where before
- 29:34Speaker 2: my food's done, the show has got to be on
- 29:37Speaker 2: the TV ready, otherwise everything's fucking ruined. You can't start
- 29:42Speaker 2: eating leap, just go to bed to throw out the food,
- 29:48Speaker 2: throw the TV off balcony, get.
- 29:51Speaker 7: Out those Sunday reset videos. So oh my god, they
- 29:55Speaker 7: take so long to edit.
- 29:56Speaker 5: I was gonna say four thousand cuts in them, Like
- 30:00Speaker 5: it's like.
- 30:00Speaker 6: Just your tripod just going yeah, and then.
- 30:04Speaker 7: When you edit it, because like like you'll put a
- 30:08Speaker 7: foundation bottle on the desk and you've got it. That's
- 30:10Speaker 7: a cut, and then when you put it in the drawer,
- 30:13Speaker 7: that's a cut, and then when you close the drawer,
- 30:14Speaker 7: that's a cut.
- 30:15Speaker 5: You know, they take so long to edit.
- 30:17Speaker 4: But I was going to say, your hard work is
- 30:20Speaker 4: very well appreciated, so satisfying.
- 30:22Speaker 3: When you brush your extensions, I'm like, oh yeah, that's
- 30:26Speaker 3: my favorite part of the process.
- 30:29Speaker 5: Flush the extensions out of my head, by the way, like.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Holding them, and then you put them in the little drawer.
- 30:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I have an extension drawer.
- 30:37Speaker 3: That's so good.
- 30:40Speaker 4: Okay, Well, not that I want you to go, because
- 30:42Speaker 4: I feel like we could just gas bag all day long,
- 30:45Speaker 4: but we did have one final question, what's your biggest
- 30:48Speaker 4: life lesson on your journey so far?
- 30:51Speaker 5: Honestly, people love you for you, so be you, Like.
- 30:55Speaker 7: You can't pretend to be someone else, like you know,
- 31:00Speaker 7: because as you guys were saying before, what someone hates
- 31:02Speaker 7: you for, there'll be just as many or like double
- 31:06Speaker 7: the amount of people that love you for.
- 31:07Speaker 5: It, you know.
- 31:09Speaker 7: And it's also just so tiring trying to be someone else,
- 31:12Speaker 7: do you know what I mean? Like, I think we
- 31:15Speaker 7: can all have probably been there where we're like trying
- 31:18Speaker 7: to impress someone or trying to do this, trying to
- 31:21Speaker 7: do that. So now I am like I can definitely
- 31:24Speaker 7: say like I live my life one hundred percent me,
- 31:27Speaker 7: Like even when I go on a first date, I'm like,
- 31:29Speaker 7: I lay everything out on the table, I'm like, this
- 31:31Speaker 7: is who I am, this is what i am.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Take it all either, I'm an influencer. In case you
- 31:35Speaker 2: have an issue with that.
- 31:36Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, yeah, I feel like that's so stereotypical, but
- 31:42Speaker 7: really that.
- 31:43Speaker 6: It's not at all though. I feel like there's a
- 31:46Speaker 6: reason why that is.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Such a powerful life lesson is because it is so true.
- 31:53Speaker 2: It is something that we actually need a reminder of
- 31:58Speaker 2: quite often, and more often than I think we think.
- 32:01Speaker 2: All Right, chicks, thank you so much for listening. We
- 32:05Speaker 2: absolutely love to be here.
- 32:07Speaker 3: And thanks to m I K Made for making today's
- 32:10Speaker 3: episode happen. We love you, love it.
- 32:12Speaker 6: Bye,
