Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early what he praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word, Ready for
- 0:09Speaker 1: the unexpected. Two Timothy four and two says be prepared
- 0:13Speaker 1: in season and out of season. You know when the
- 0:17Speaker 1: apostle Paul encouraged Timothy to be prepared in season and
- 0:21Speaker 1: out of season, he was speaking about preaching the word faithfully.
- 0:26Speaker 1: But the principle reaches far beyond ministry. It speaks to
- 0:29Speaker 1: how we live while we're waiting on God. There are
- 0:33Speaker 1: seasons when everything is flowing, doors are opening, and prayers
- 0:37Speaker 1: seem to be answered quickly. Then there are out of
- 0:40Speaker 1: season moments when the medical report doesn't look good, when
- 0:44Speaker 1: the job market tightens up, when relationships are strained, or
- 0:48Speaker 1: progress feels painfully slow. Being prepared doesn't mean pretending everything
- 0:54Speaker 1: is fine. It means keeping your heart anchored in faith
- 0:57Speaker 1: regardless of the season, and you stay grateful and humble.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Out of season, you stay hopeful and expectant. You don't
- 1:05Speaker 1: let discouragement talk you into lowering your expectation or shrinking
- 1:09Speaker 1: your faith. You don't put God in a box and
- 1:12Speaker 1: decide how, when or through whom He has to work
- 1:16Speaker 1: too often we think God can only bless us when
- 1:19Speaker 1: conditions are right, but or we think that when the
- 1:23Speaker 1: economy is strong, will be blessed when we feel confident
- 1:26Speaker 1: when resources are abundant. But God specializes in showing a
- 1:30Speaker 1: battle season. He brings provision and famine. He brings peace
- 1:34Speaker 1: and chaos, healing and weakness, and favor. When the odds
- 1:38Speaker 1: are stacked against you, what looks like delay to you
- 1:42Speaker 1: is often preparation in God's hands. In numbers eleven, the
- 1:46Speaker 1: Lord acts Moses. A powerful question is the Lord's arm
- 1:51Speaker 1: too short? In other words, do you really think anything
- 1:56Speaker 1: can limit me? Seasons don't limit God. Statistics don't limit God.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Your past doesn't limit God. The only thing that can
- 2:05Speaker 1: restrict what God does is our unwillingness to have faith
- 2:09Speaker 1: and believe beyond what we can see. So I want
- 2:13Speaker 1: you to stay prepared in your mindset, keep speaking the
- 2:16Speaker 1: words of faith, keep doing the right thing when it
- 2:19Speaker 1: feels unrewarded, Keep praising when nothing appears to be changing.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Get up every morning with quiet expectancy, believing that God
- 2:27Speaker 1: can interrupt your routine at any moment with his goodness.
- 2:31Speaker 1: When you live this way, you won't be shocked. When
- 2:34Speaker 1: God suddenly turns things around, you'll say I was ready.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I knew he could do it out of season. As
- 2:40Speaker 1: often when God does his best work come own. Jesus, Father,
- 2:45Speaker 1: thank you that you're not limited by seasons. You're not
- 2:48Speaker 1: limited by circumstances or conditions. Help us to stay prepared
- 2:52Speaker 1: in faith when things are going well and when they're not. God,
- 2:57Speaker 1: we choose to trust you beyond what we can see
- 3:00Speaker 1: and expect you to move in unexpected ways. God, we
- 3:03Speaker 1: believe your power is at work in our lives right now.
- 3:06Speaker 1: In Jesus' name. Hey, now that's your word for today.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Take it haha. Apply it to your everyday life. You
- 3:13Speaker 1: get ready for the unexpected. On the party, your early
- 3:16Speaker 1: wedding praise party with me, your girls. Sherry Mackie
