- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time to believe your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:30Speaker 1: us inside the Treehouse Show. I'm Daniel Manley along with
- 0:34Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm and Raj Charma on Tuesday, January twenty first,
- 0:40Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. Obviously the biggest of the Big Ley
- 0:46Speaker 1: News yesterday and today and going to carry throughout the week,
- 0:52Speaker 1: and that is a new president, well a new old
- 0:56Speaker 1: president for the new administration. It's mostly new, but some
- 1:01Speaker 1: of it old, so it'll be an interesting week, to
- 1:03Speaker 1: say the least. But this is the Treehouse and we
- 1:07Speaker 1: don't do things conventionally. It's like our incoming president. So
- 1:12Speaker 1: instead of bemoaning the new administration and the flurry of
- 1:17Speaker 1: executive orders that are going to be just I don't
- 1:21Speaker 1: even know why he signed stuff anymore. She just have
- 1:23Speaker 1: a stamp at this point. Otherwise I think you'd give
- 1:26Speaker 1: them for the writer's cramp. We're not going to focus
- 1:28Speaker 1: on that stuff. We're going to focus on the fun stuff,
- 1:30Speaker 1: the stuff that brings us all together. We believe in
- 1:35Speaker 1: the ultimate unifier in this country, and that is stupidity.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Luckily that's a big umbrella. So today instead of starting
- 1:44Speaker 1: with inauguration and new administration, stuff. We're going to talk
- 1:47Speaker 1: about the lady who suffered second degree burns because she's
- 1:50Speaker 1: spilled super hot barbecue sauce on herself and she's now
- 1:55Speaker 1: two point eight million dollars richer because of it. Now,
- 2:00Speaker 1: she did not do this on purpose, I don't think.
- 2:07Speaker 1: But this is a Texas story. It's local deal at
- 2:10Speaker 1: Bill Miller Barbecue, which has you know, close to eighty
- 2:14Speaker 1: locations in Texas, including San Antonio, Austin, Corpus CHRISTI Well,
- 2:21Speaker 1: they got sued after their barbecue sauce caused serious burns
- 2:26Speaker 1: to a woman's leg. She ordered four of their breakfast tacos.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Damn it, I'm hungry, I want a breakfast taco. In
- 2:36Speaker 1: addition to the four breakfast tacos, she also ordered a
- 2:38Speaker 1: side of barbecue sauce and that's when her day changed.
- 2:43Speaker 1: They handed it all to her in a paper bag
- 2:45Speaker 1: and barbecue restaurant style. Then she pulled over in the
- 2:48Speaker 1: parking lot to eat her succulent Texas meal. The problem
- 2:54Speaker 1: is the container with the barbecue sauce was so hot,
- 3:01Speaker 1: how was it? She dropped it and spilled sauce all
- 3:06Speaker 1: over her right thigh, causing second degree burns. This is
- 3:13Speaker 1: the time and any news story I hear about burns
- 3:17Speaker 1: where I have to go look up which degrees are
- 3:21Speaker 1: the bad ones because I can never remember. The good
- 3:24Speaker 1: news is I know second degree burn is the middle one,
- 3:29Speaker 1: at least that I have retained in my soft brain.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I know the second degree brain. Thank you, Trey. Thank
- 3:37Speaker 1: you for the golf clap of acknowledgement.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I appreciate.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I know the second degree burn is the middle one,
- 3:42Speaker 1: but I never remember which is the bad first degree,
- 3:46Speaker 1: third or third degree. Thank you Medical Encyclopedia, Trey. Well,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you weren't around when I first read the story, so
- 3:56Speaker 1: I had to click a link to find out for sure.
- 3:59Speaker 1: According to the Cleveland Clinic, second degree burns are described
- 4:02Speaker 1: as a mild type of burn that causes blistering, shiny
- 4:06Speaker 1: skin pain, and skin discoloration. They're the most common type
- 4:09Speaker 1: of burn. If your burnt is small, you can treat
- 4:13Speaker 1: this type of burn at home. Okay, that's according to
- 4:16Speaker 1: the Cleveland Clinic. But if you read about the degrees
- 4:20Speaker 1: of burns on Wikipedia, that tells a slightly different story, which,
- 4:25Speaker 1: of course you know, wanted to check on. So a
- 4:29Speaker 1: second degree burn, according to Wikipedia, extends to extends to
- 4:36Speaker 1: superficial dermis. Okay, you will get red with clear blisters,
- 4:43Speaker 1: blanches with pressure. The texture is moist, very painful, and
- 4:48Speaker 1: healing time is two to three weeks. Prognosis and complications
- 4:52Speaker 1: are a local infection like cellulitis, but no scarring. Typically
- 4:57Speaker 1: very painful though. But then there's that's superficial second degree.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Then there's deep partial thickness second degree. So this is
- 5:05Speaker 1: where I'm already confused again. I used to be somewhat
- 5:08Speaker 1: clear cut in knowing there was first degree, second degree,
- 5:11Speaker 1: third degree, and I knew second degree was the middle one.
- 5:13Speaker 1: But now there's two middle ones. There's two second degrees.
- 5:16Speaker 1: It's like a second degree A and a second degree B.
- 5:22Speaker 1: So I just read you second degree A. Second degree
- 5:25Speaker 1: B extends into deep dermis. Your appearance on the burn
- 5:31Speaker 1: is yellow or white, less blanching, maybe blistering. The texture
- 5:35Speaker 1: is fairly dry, unlike the moist texture and second degree A,
- 5:39Speaker 1: and the sensation is pressure and discomfort. Healing time is
- 5:44Speaker 1: three to eight weeks. This is weird because now it
- 5:48Speaker 1: says the prognosis on second degree B is scarring contractures,
- 5:53Speaker 1: which may require excision and skin grafting. Okay, what's throwing
- 5:59Speaker 1: me off here is it's as in the sensation, there's
- 6:01Speaker 1: pressure and discomfort on second degree B. Second degree A,
- 6:05Speaker 1: it says it's very painful, but the healing time on
- 6:07Speaker 1: B is three to eight weeks. A is two to
- 6:08Speaker 1: three weeks. B has horrific scarring. Potentially. See now I'm
- 6:13Speaker 1: back to confused and wondering whether or not this this
- 6:17Speaker 1: lady should have gotten two point eight million dollars.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Well, it's it depends on how deep into the dermis
- 6:23Speaker 3: it goes. So like it can be very painful because
- 6:26Speaker 3: it's on the top layer, so it's more it's it's
- 6:30Speaker 3: more sensitive because it comes into contact with more stuff
- 6:34Speaker 3: as opposed to B, which is deeper in, so you
- 6:37Speaker 3: get that pressure and.
- 6:39Speaker 4: It's not.
- 6:41Speaker 3: It's it's it's still i think equally as painful, but
- 6:45Speaker 3: there's still that there's pressure and discomfort. There's more because yes, okay, well,
- 6:51Speaker 3: and blistering is probably the main thing that agitates the
- 6:55Speaker 3: skin the most.
- 6:57Speaker 5: And I'm sure also the size of the area has
- 6:59Speaker 5: some thing to do with it. Two And I'm gonna
- 7:02Speaker 5: guess a woman that ordered four breakfast tacos there was.
- 7:04Speaker 4: A big area on her thigh. I would imagine sauce.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Yep, yeah, I imagine there were a lot of area there.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Yeah. Uh oh, maybe she's a petite, but a but
- 7:12Speaker 6: a hearty eater.
- 7:15Speaker 2: In Texas.
- 7:18Speaker 5: In San Antonio for breakfast tacos with a side of
- 7:21Speaker 5: barbecue sauce.
- 7:22Speaker 1: At a Texas barbecue restaurant, the Saint memos.
- 7:27Speaker 6: I've seen tiny women put away some food.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but have you seen barbecue sauce put away a
- 7:33Speaker 1: tiny woman?
- 7:36Speaker 4: No?
- 7:36Speaker 1: I have not.
- 7:37Speaker 6: I can say that I have not.
- 7:40Speaker 3: But this is all started because the president of the
- 7:41Speaker 3: lady that got burned by the coffee a McDonald's, which.
- 7:44Speaker 1: By the way, was third degree burns. Yes, and she
- 7:48Speaker 1: was in the hospital for a couple of weeks. So
- 7:49Speaker 1: we all made fun of that story when it first happened.
- 7:52Speaker 1: But when you read the details of that case, it's
- 7:54Speaker 1: actually really horrific what she experienced. I'm not saying she
- 7:58Speaker 1: deserved all that money, but everyone made fun of her.
- 8:02Speaker 1: You just built hot coffee on your leg. Whatever, grow up,
- 8:05Speaker 1: you don't deserve a bunch of money. But again, when
- 8:07Speaker 1: you read the details of the injury, which included her
- 8:10Speaker 1: genitals being scorched, Yeah, I mean it's it's like something
- 8:14Speaker 1: out of like horror torture, like something out of the
- 8:17Speaker 1: movie Hostile or Saw.
- 8:19Speaker 3: But if you drop something on yourself, how is that
- 8:24Speaker 3: their fault?
- 8:25Speaker 2: This?
- 8:25Speaker 1: I'm glad you asked that question. Raj. I'm really glad
- 8:29Speaker 1: you asked that question, and I'm gonna answer it. Next.

- 10:10Speaker 1: going to honor this stuff. I mean, that's that's that's
- 10:13Speaker 1: some serious integrity and quality craftsmanship to have the confidence
- 10:16Speaker 1: to be like, yeah, this is how we do things.

- 10:59Speaker 1: Trentholme and Raj Sharma with you inside the treehouse. Uh
- 11:03Speaker 1: talking about the woman who sued and won against Bill
- 11:06Speaker 1: Miller Barbecue in Texas because the barbecue sauce was too
- 11:11Speaker 1: damn hot. She ordered for breakfast tacos along with the
- 11:17Speaker 1: side of barbecue sauce. And Raj, what was your question
- 11:20Speaker 1: as we went into that last break.
- 11:22Speaker 6: So, if you spill something on yourself, how was that
- 11:26Speaker 6: their fault?
- 11:28Speaker 1: And again, I'm glad you asked that question because that
- 11:31Speaker 1: is a key pillar in this lawsuit and a reason
- 11:35Speaker 1: why I think she was able to come out victorious
- 11:38Speaker 1: against the barbecue behemoth. The container was so hot she
- 11:43Speaker 1: dropped it and spilled the sauce all over her right thigh.
- 11:47Speaker 1: So because the sauce was so hot against saying this
- 11:50Speaker 1: again for effect. As soon as it touched her hand,
- 11:54Speaker 1: she dropped it. So it was so hot it was
- 11:56Speaker 1: burning through the container, so hot she couldn't hold it.
- 11:59Speaker 1: She dropped it and spilled it all over her tiny
- 12:02Speaker 1: ride thigh, which then caused the second degree burns. Her
- 12:06Speaker 1: lawyer said the safety guideline is one hundred and thirty
- 12:09Speaker 1: five degrees. They served it at one hundred and eighty nine.
- 12:14Speaker 1: For those of you that don't remember physical science from
- 12:17Speaker 1: elementary school or middle school. For reference, water boils at
- 12:21Speaker 1: two twelve.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Okay.
- 12:24Speaker 1: The lawsuit claimed she suffered physical and mental pain, impairment, disfigurement,
- 12:28Speaker 1: medical expenses, and lost wages. It happened in twenty twenty three,
- 12:32Speaker 1: but a jury just weighed in, calling the restaurant one
- 12:35Speaker 1: hundred percent negligent and awarded her two point eight million
- 12:39Speaker 1: dollars in punitive damages. So you get the first set
- 12:43Speaker 1: of damages, which usually covers, you know, the medical expenses
- 12:46Speaker 1: and stuff, and then you get the punishment stuff. And
- 12:48Speaker 1: that's that's that's where you make the big box betray.
- 12:52Speaker 1: You did a little digging in the break there and
- 12:54Speaker 1: found a little more info for us on super hot
- 12:57Speaker 1: barbecue sauce.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I did. I even found a picture of said wound.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Really, let's see, I got to see this because again,
- 13:06Speaker 1: first degree tray is the worst or the or the
- 13:09Speaker 1: best burn.
- 13:10Speaker 4: First degree is like a sunburn a little bit.
- 13:13Speaker 5: You know, first degree is the the the lesser of
- 13:18Speaker 5: all of all three degrees.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Gotcha. This is where we need to get on the
- 13:22Speaker 1: same page with degrees of things, because when it comes
- 13:25Speaker 1: to burns, first degree is okay, second degree is not okay,
- 13:30Speaker 1: third degree bad. Right, But then there's other examples that
- 13:35Speaker 1: we have where a third position is the is okay,
- 13:38Speaker 1: but first is the worst, like murder, Like if there's
- 13:41Speaker 1: third degree murder, it's like it's like murder light or
- 13:45Speaker 1: sugar free murder. Second degree murder, which you know that's
- 13:50Speaker 1: that's like diet murder, and then first degree that's you know,
- 13:54Speaker 1: the worst murder. That's yeah, you know you're getting all
- 13:57Speaker 1: the calories.
- 13:59Speaker 6: No, no aspa in the first degree murder.
- 14:02Speaker 1: No, no, there there are no substitutes in the first
- 14:05Speaker 1: degree murder. Yeah, all right, Trey, So uh uh enlighten
- 14:12Speaker 1: us on the barbecue sauce lady.
- 14:16Speaker 4: All right, and.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You're sure this is her actual injury and not just
- 14:20Speaker 1: some sort of weird from Daily Mail. Okay, trusted the source.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Holy Jesus, Mother that is God, Me give her, give her.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I'm not sure if she got enough money.
- 14:36Speaker 4: It's just a strawberry.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not too I mean that there's a lot
- 14:39Speaker 3: of infect It also got infected.
- 14:41Speaker 6: You can see that.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great, Trey. I've like you and I played
- 14:46Speaker 1: enough sports as kids, and I've I have a recurring
- 14:49Speaker 1: strawberry scar on my right knee whenever I would slide
- 14:51Speaker 1: into the second base and it hurt a little bit.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It looked a little bit like that, but I know
- 14:57Speaker 1: that was caused from one hundred eight nine degree barbecue sauce,
- 15:02Speaker 1: which includes sugar. So I imagine that wound's probably pretty deep.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Yes, you can.
- 15:09Speaker 6: You can kind of see that.
- 15:10Speaker 3: And then there's also, like I said, you can see
- 15:12Speaker 3: where the white and there's like a little dark spot
- 15:15Speaker 3: at the bottom. Right, that's where the you can see
- 15:18Speaker 3: where it's getting infected.
- 15:19Speaker 5: But you can see all around it where it's inflamed,
- 15:21Speaker 5: all around the edges. That's infection, I mean, yeah, but.
- 15:26Speaker 1: That's also a really big area tray. You're right, that's
- 15:29Speaker 1: a that's a big hawk.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So I mean, there's there's nothing in here to offer
- 15:35Speaker 1: up any sort of perspective to see not just how
- 15:38Speaker 1: big the wound is, but how big the leg itself is.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Since we don't have that, I'm just left to imagine,
- 15:45Speaker 1: and my imagination is running a muck. And so I'm
- 15:47Speaker 1: thinking that that wound is probably three four feet long.
- 15:53Speaker 1: So in that case, maybe a million dollars per foot.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I was gonna say by the acre, but uh, that's
- 16:02Speaker 3: a lot of acreage.
- 16:05Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know how much an acre is.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I think that's the yellow I think that's the Yellowstone
- 16:09Speaker 1: sequel right there. Yeah, I can see being angry off
- 16:14Speaker 1: in one corner.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Taylor Sheridan's new movie Land Woman.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You know what I learned a long time ago, don't
- 16:24Speaker 1: waste a good funny punchline.

- 17:20Speaker 1: That's Treehouse on air dot Com. Today is Tuesday, January
- 17:26Speaker 1: twenty first, twenty twenty five. Yesterday ushered in a new
- 17:30Speaker 1: presidential administration. Our country now has four years of Trump
- 17:35Speaker 1: two two. Yeah, Trump two now is in full effect,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and I'm curious to see what the next four years
- 17:45Speaker 1: will have in store for all of us. The thing
- 17:50Speaker 1: that I keep thinking about the inauguration, with all the
- 17:53Speaker 1: stuff that happened, you know, leading up to it, the
- 17:55Speaker 1: inauguration itself. You had carry Underwood getting backlash from some
- 18:01Speaker 1: of her fans for participating in the inauguration event, you know,
- 18:06Speaker 1: for singing Snoop Dog was taking flak from a bunch
- 18:10Speaker 1: of his fans and people saying that he shouldn't be
- 18:14Speaker 1: having anything to do with Trump, although I'm not even
- 18:17Speaker 1: it wasn't even directly necessarily related to the inauguration. It
- 18:21Speaker 1: was like an inauguration party for one of Trump soon
- 18:25Speaker 1: to be cabinet members. That was I think a crypto
- 18:31Speaker 1: marketing promo party type of thing that he did. Still
- 18:36Speaker 1: if some people's name get attached to Trump's name, they
- 18:39Speaker 1: take flak for it. If you come out against Trump,
- 18:42Speaker 1: then the other side gives you flack for it. So
- 18:45Speaker 1: it is what it is.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Well, it's.
- 18:48Speaker 5: If there is one thing that has been lost over
- 18:51Speaker 5: the years, this is both sides. This is across the board.
- 18:55Speaker 5: It started with Clinton and it's just digressed. Is if
- 19:01Speaker 5: we could all have respect for the office of the president.
- 19:06Speaker 5: When the President of the United States, regardless of party,
- 19:10Speaker 5: ask you to do something, you generally do it. Carrie
- 19:14Speaker 5: Underwood got asked, she's singing like it's and it's saying that.
- 19:21Speaker 5: It just it's ever it's it's like there there was
- 19:26Speaker 5: a college HBCU band that got invited to play at
- 19:31Speaker 5: the inauguration and absolutely we're getting so much flak when
- 19:36Speaker 5: it was like they're like, this is an opportunity of
- 19:38Speaker 5: a lifetime for us, Like you know, it's it's still
- 19:42Speaker 5: it's an honor, it's a big deal. It's the president
- 19:44Speaker 5: of the United States.
- 19:46Speaker 1: It is it is a it is a historical event.
- 19:49Speaker 3: But you have to watch the video that Snoop put
- 19:52Speaker 3: out a few years ago when he was talking about
- 19:56Speaker 3: people performing for Trump for the first time, and it
- 20:00Speaker 3: does not age well.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Because at one point there's the insinuation that he's fined
- 20:05Speaker 1: with shooting Trump. Yes, I remember reading that story when
- 20:10Speaker 1: it happened years ago.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, the video just leaked again, I believe on Sunday. Yeah,
- 20:15Speaker 3: because it was announced that he was going to be
- 20:17Speaker 3: performing and they, I mean everybody started leaking that video.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Well, and here's the thing real quick on that particular story,
- 20:24Speaker 1: I think calling that a leak is silly because it
- 20:27Speaker 1: was a music video that he put out and at
- 20:30Speaker 1: the time, one of Trump's lawyers criticized it, and Trump
- 20:33Speaker 1: himself insinuated that Snoop Dogg should be arrested simply for
- 20:37Speaker 1: making the video. Anyway, you fast forward a few years
- 20:41Speaker 1: and some people are making nice for whatever their given
- 20:44Speaker 1: reasons are. Of all the things that you could inject
- 20:48Speaker 1: or take out of the inauguration and a new administration,
- 20:53Speaker 1: the thing I took out of was Trump taking part
- 20:56Speaker 1: in some of the traditions with the previous isn't it
- 21:00Speaker 1: that he didn't necessarily do before? And that includes a
- 21:06Speaker 1: limo ride to the inauguration. So in one vehicle you
- 21:14Speaker 1: had President Biden and President Trump on their way to
- 21:17Speaker 1: President Trump's inauguration, and because of that, I now think
- 21:23Speaker 1: I need to go back and apologize for every single
- 21:26Speaker 1: complaint I lodged at my parents for road trips when
- 21:29Speaker 1: I was a kid, because at the time I thought
- 21:33Speaker 1: driving to Pittsburgh, Texas to hang out with my racist
- 21:36Speaker 1: great grandmother glick was bad. You couldn't invite me along
- 21:44Speaker 1: with a million dollars to sit in that limo ride,
- 21:48Speaker 1: no matter how short would those two dudes at all?
- 21:52Speaker 1: I want nothing to do with it, not ever, no,
- 21:55Speaker 1: thank you, I would graciously decline that invitation if it
- 22:00Speaker 1: came to me, Dred despite respecting the Office of the
- 22:03Speaker 1: United States, I want nothing to do with that limo, right.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I don't want to be in a car with those
- 22:08Speaker 1: two dudes alone. Ever.
- 22:10Speaker 6: Yeah, it can be like you could be like, can
- 22:11Speaker 6: I just jog alongside the car?
- 22:14Speaker 1: I mean, honest to God, at that point, the Secret
- 22:16Speaker 1: Service is going to have an entire regiment around the
- 22:20Speaker 1: beast limo and not a single soul is gonna want
- 22:22Speaker 1: to be in it.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I think. I think.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Actually, the what makes it even double awkward is with
- 22:29Speaker 5: doctor Jill Biden and Malania Trump.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I mean, are they in the car too or are
- 22:35Speaker 1: they in their own separate vehicles.
- 22:36Speaker 4: They're in the car, in the car.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Oh God, hell no, no, that no. I think at
- 22:42Speaker 1: that point, if I if I'm, if I'm anyone that's
- 22:45Speaker 1: been invited to go in that limo, I'm gonna look
- 22:48Speaker 1: down at my watch and say, you know what my
- 22:50Speaker 1: watch is telling me. I need more steps. So I'm
- 22:52Speaker 1: gonna hang out with the Secret Service bros. And get
- 22:54Speaker 1: some steps in on the way to the inauguration, do
- 22:58Speaker 1: some cardio. I'm gonna get cardio in. I want to
- 23:01Speaker 1: make sure I don't die of heart disease, because I
- 23:03Speaker 1: swear to God, if I die anywhere, I don't want
- 23:05Speaker 1: it to be in the back of his limo.
- 23:07Speaker 6: Yeah. You know, Biden's like, are we here yet?
- 23:12Speaker 4: He's been saying that for four years.
- 23:21Speaker 2: You're listening to the tree House.

- 24:18Speaker 1: Dan along with Tray and Raj inside the Treehouse with you,
- 24:23Speaker 1: just talking about the transition of power within the United States.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And speaking of power transitions, there was no bigger one
- 24:32Speaker 1: over the weekend than TikTok. So Trey, I'm going to
- 24:36Speaker 1: lean on you heavily because you are our TikTok expert
- 24:40Speaker 1: inside the Treehouse. Ironically, because while TikTok is mostly popular
- 24:45Speaker 1: among thirteen to thirty nine year olds, over seventy percent
- 24:48Speaker 1: of them or active on TikTok. By the way I saw,
- 24:51Speaker 1: you are our oldest member of the Treehouse but our
- 24:54Speaker 1: most active TikTok user. So I appreciate your existence, your expertise.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Does that sound like twenty first century speak enough to
- 25:05Speaker 1: say you respect someone's stuff?
- 25:09Speaker 4: Sure? All right?
- 25:10Speaker 1: Good, just making sure because we're all gen X in
- 25:12Speaker 1: here and we have a tendency to just kind of around.
- 25:16Speaker 1: So yeah, So Saturday night, TikTok got pulled down. Then
- 25:19Speaker 1: on Sunday when I opened it up, and I was
- 25:21Speaker 1: reminded that, oh, yeah, TikTok's supposed to be off, because
- 25:23Speaker 1: in our tree House group chat, we're like, oh yeah,
- 25:26Speaker 1: treeous is off. I mean TikTok is off. And so
- 25:28Speaker 1: I pulled it up and I got the alert that
- 25:31Speaker 1: everybody else saw on either Saturday night or Sunday morning,
- 25:37Speaker 1: which read, hang on, hang on, where did I put it?
- 25:41Speaker 1: Do there it is? Oh, that's the welcome back message?
- 25:44Speaker 4: Hang on.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I want to make sure I get this accurate. Here
- 25:49Speaker 1: as I read off TikTok's official statement over the weekend
- 25:52Speaker 1: when they went dark for a spell, man, I really
- 25:57Speaker 1: got to stop going to weddings. Got too many photos
- 25:59Speaker 1: in here, m.
- 26:03Speaker 2: All right.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Basically, TikTok said we're off and unless something happens, we're
- 26:08Speaker 1: going to be off for a while, and that's what happened.
- 26:10Speaker 1: And then on Sunday they everything got turned back on.
- 26:13Speaker 1: And President Trump got the credit because I guess he
- 26:16Speaker 1: released a statement or talked to somebody at Byteedance, the
- 26:19Speaker 1: owner of TikTok, and they said, okay, we'll turn it
- 26:22Speaker 1: back on now. Because I guess President Trump has said
- 26:24Speaker 1: he's going to offer or sign an executive order giving
- 26:28Speaker 1: a ninety day reprieve while TikTok tries to find a
- 26:32Speaker 1: new owner. Did I miss anything, Tray, which he.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Had already said, I mean, more than anything.
- 26:42Speaker 5: I think it was more because they didn't have to
- 26:44Speaker 5: turn it off right on at midnight. I think it
- 26:47Speaker 5: was more of a publicity stunt than anything else, which
- 26:49Speaker 5: they did it well. Yeah, I mean you had people,
- 26:54Speaker 5: you know, losing their mind, but you know, thank god
- 26:58Speaker 5: it's back on now. Can follow the big drama between
- 27:02Speaker 5: the Bop House and the Blonde House.
- 27:04Speaker 4: I was riveted by that.
- 27:05Speaker 1: And this is how I know you're a TikTok expert,
- 27:10Speaker 1: because I have no idea what that is, and I
- 27:11Speaker 1: love it. I was just here for the chaos. I
- 27:15Speaker 1: like the idea of TikTok going dark. I truly believe,
- 27:17Speaker 1: and we took bets on this last week. I believed
- 27:20Speaker 1: that even if I believed, whether it was turned off
- 27:23Speaker 1: or left on, it was going to be on because
- 27:27Speaker 1: to me, there's too much money involved. And ironically it
- 27:30Speaker 1: actually brought me to TikTok for the first time in
- 27:32Speaker 1: like three or four days because of the possible band
- 27:34Speaker 1: I wanted to see, Okay, is there anything on here
- 27:36Speaker 1: I'm missing before before it goes dark for a spelt
- 27:39Speaker 1: And one of the videos that served me very nicely,
- 27:42Speaker 1: by the way, was a video of a young woman
- 27:45Speaker 1: talking about the political hypocrisy of our elected officials voting
- 27:51Speaker 1: to ban TikTok when so many of them since this
- 27:56Speaker 1: legislation started gaining momentum in our country, all couldn't get
- 28:03Speaker 1: a hold of their stockbrokers fast enough to buy stock
- 28:05Speaker 1: in Facebook and Instagram's parent company Meta. So they're all like, yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 1: I mean you think this TikTok bands a great idea
- 28:12Speaker 1: for national security? Hey, Roger, would you get me four
- 28:15Speaker 1: thousand shares of Meta?
- 28:16Speaker 6: Please?
- 28:16Speaker 1: Thanks? Okay, bye, but yes, national security interests are of
- 28:19Speaker 1: the utmost importance.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Well, this I forgot when that law passed it. It
- 28:24Speaker 5: was not recently that they passed that law. This has
- 28:27Speaker 5: been well over a year ago that that actually they
- 28:30Speaker 5: signed that legislation.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Yeah, which I basically ancient history in terms of social media.
- 28:37Speaker 5: Listen, there are a couple of stock funds that you
- 28:41Speaker 5: can follow that track the politicians, and even though they
- 28:45Speaker 5: get released ninety days late, they're still I mean, like
- 28:48Speaker 5: Nancy Pelosi is the queen of them. I mean I
- 28:50Speaker 5: think her returns. She returns like fifty two percent a
- 28:53Speaker 5: year on her investments.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I know, I've actually thought about once I come into
- 28:57Speaker 1: more money again, I'm just going to start invent in
- 29:00Speaker 1: the same stuff that our elected officials do, because they
- 29:02Speaker 1: do they do really well.
- 29:05Speaker 3: And Trump was one that called for the ban of
- 29:07Speaker 3: TikTok in the first place when he was in office
- 29:09Speaker 3: the first time.
- 29:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 1: So that's where all this stuff gets really interesting. Is
- 29:13Speaker 1: it's like, okay, uh, it's dangerous, is it though, because
- 29:18Speaker 1: so many of our elected officials are on it.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Well, But here's where it gets even trickier. I am
- 29:24Speaker 5: sure they are right. There is some kind of of
- 29:26Speaker 5: there is a national security interest in not having so
- 29:29Speaker 5: many Americans information at the hands of a Chinese company.
- 29:35Speaker 4: But here's where.
- 29:37Speaker 5: This is the whole deal of you know, be careful
- 29:39Speaker 5: what you wish for because the app I don't remember
- 29:42Speaker 5: it's name that everyone was starting to flock to Red
- 29:44Speaker 5: Note is completely owned by the Chinese government. It's not
- 29:48Speaker 5: just a company that's in China. It is owned by
- 29:51Speaker 5: the CCCP. So meeting one hundred percent of your information
- 29:56Speaker 5: is going straight to the Chinese government.
- 29:58Speaker 1: And millions of people are like, cool that we love TikTok,
- 30:01Speaker 1: We're willing to just offer up all of our stuff
- 30:03Speaker 1: to China on a silver platter, which, by the way,
- 30:05Speaker 1: we were already doing. And to me, the great irony
- 30:08Speaker 1: in all of this is all these elected officials and
- 30:10Speaker 1: pundits and everyone who's supposed to be important telling us no, no, no,
- 30:14Speaker 1: this is about national security, even though we're all posting
- 30:17Speaker 1: on it, but this is about national security, and so
- 30:20Speaker 1: we're protecting you, right. But then at the same time,
- 30:25Speaker 1: you have all these people willing to offer up all
- 30:27Speaker 1: this information to another government, and at the same time
- 30:30Speaker 1: they're worried about this foreign government having access to all
- 30:34Speaker 1: of our data. But meta, Facebook and Instagram collect way
- 30:39Speaker 1: more data on us than TikTok ever dream of. So
- 30:45Speaker 1: I mean, it's one of those things like, look, if
- 30:48Speaker 1: we're okay as a government with the data of Americans
- 30:52Speaker 1: being exploited and stolen underneath our noise, underneath our noses,
- 30:56Speaker 1: as long as it's from you know, a dude bro
- 30:59Speaker 1: from California versus the communists from China.
- 31:03Speaker 5: I mean, honestly, if you're that worried about your information
- 31:05Speaker 5: and where your information is going. You should be doing
- 31:09Speaker 5: a letter writing campaign and taking out ads and newspapers.
- 31:18Speaker 4: That's a deep one. I know.
- 31:21Speaker 1: You know the meme of that guy at sitting at
- 31:23Speaker 1: a table with the whiteboard with whatever saying says change
- 31:26Speaker 1: my mind. That's going to be me holding my breath
- 31:29Speaker 1: waiting for someone to explain everything Dray just said and
- 31:32Speaker 1: actually do it.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I would have to go on to TikTok to find
- 31:35Speaker 3: out who to call the place now classified ad.
- 31:37Speaker 6: I don't even know.
- 31:42Speaker 1: This is so stupid.

- 32:43Speaker 1: Today is Tuesday, January twenty first, twenty twenty five. Let's
- 32:48Speaker 1: celebrate today with some birthdays. Oh real quick, I need
- 32:52Speaker 1: to make a correction from yesterday's birthdays. So I was
- 32:56Speaker 1: I was wrong yesterday and I need to make a
- 32:58Speaker 1: correction yesterday day's birthdays. I mentioned that it was Evan
- 33:02Speaker 1: Peters's birthday and that he was thirty nine. He was
- 33:06Speaker 1: from the X the New x Men movies as Quicksilver,
- 33:10Speaker 1: X Men, Days of Future Past, X Men Apocalypse, and
- 33:12Speaker 1: Dark Phoenix. But he was also the actor that played
- 33:14Speaker 1: Dahmer in the New Dahmer series on Netflix. I incorrectly
- 33:18Speaker 1: said that the same name porn star actor was once
- 33:22Speaker 1: married to Jessica Drake, who we had on our radio
- 33:25Speaker 1: show years and years ago we were on CBS in Dallas.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I was wrong. That was not Evan Peters that Jessica Drake,
- 33:31Speaker 1: the pornstar was married to. It was Evan Stone.
- 33:37Speaker 6: All the difference.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Both really solid male are names, but only one is
- 33:42Speaker 1: an actual porn star. The other one is an MCU
- 33:46Speaker 1: actor and a fine actor at.
- 33:47Speaker 4: That as as head of their fan club. Did you
- 33:50Speaker 4: get corrected? On that.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I'm not head of any fan club, thank you very much.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Sure certainly not yours mother. I'll have the bee pop,
- 34:01Speaker 1: but I'm certainly not president of your fan club, you mother.
- 34:05Speaker 4: That reminds me it's a new game, wrong button.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Only in my defense on my board here, the new
- 34:17Speaker 1: sounder button is the same color as the bleep button
- 34:21Speaker 1: on the other bank.
- 34:23Speaker 3: You do know the guy in charge is to have
- 34:25Speaker 3: a big pencil, right. You didn't realize that, right? He
- 34:28Speaker 3: had his name on it, so he didn't forget that
- 34:30Speaker 3: was his pencil. That's the guy who's leading this ship,
- 34:35Speaker 3: I know. So when you hear Iceberg ahead, don't be surprised.
- 34:42Speaker 1: But I'll be.
- 34:45Speaker 6: Who said that?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Oh I did? Anyway? So birthdays today for Tuesday, January
- 34:51Speaker 1: twenty first, twenty twenty five are as follows. Booboo Stewart
- 34:56Speaker 1: is thirty one today. Yes, as far as I know,
- 35:00Speaker 1: he is not a portn star, but he is the
- 35:04Speaker 1: telepathic werewolf in the Twilight movies. And let's be honest,
- 35:10Speaker 1: there are some interesting names that float around the world
- 35:13Speaker 1: these days, but I don't know if there's any as
- 35:15Speaker 1: interesting as Boo Boo Stewart. And when I saw that
- 35:19Speaker 1: it was Booboo Stewart's thirty first birthday. Today, I wondered,
- 35:24Speaker 1: what if people just started naming their kids whatever whatever
- 35:29Speaker 1: they yelled out when they found out she was pregnant.
- 35:33Speaker 6: No, you'd have a lot of kids named the F word.
- 35:38Speaker 1: So there's lots of kids named Connor.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Yeah, nobody's yelling out Connor, but there's a lot of
- 35:44Speaker 3: people going, I.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Hate the wrong button again. There it is.
- 35:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it would oh be the first name in God
- 35:51Speaker 5: be the middle what.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Yeah. I just think you'd make for some really interesting names.
- 35:57Speaker 1: And maybe that was how Booboo Stewart got his name.
- 36:00Speaker 1: It's like, oh, that was a boot. I don't have
- 36:01Speaker 1: to bleak boo boo. I'm just I'm just excited because
- 36:03Speaker 1: if I'm a bleek button, I can't.
- 36:05Speaker 6: Wait to be friends with I'm out of here. Johnson.
- 36:12Speaker 1: You mean that's not mine? Smith.
- 36:16Speaker 4: I should have pulled out Jones.
- 36:21Speaker 1: See first day kindergarten would be awesome.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Yeah that's what.
- 36:32Speaker 3: But I mean you have like the guy used played
- 36:34Speaker 3: for Alabama was pooh Bear Johnson, and then you have
- 36:37Speaker 3: Haha Clinton Dix because his name was Harold but his
- 36:40Speaker 3: little brother couldn't say Harold, so they called him ha ha.
- 36:44Speaker 6: And so that's where you got ha ha Clinton.
- 36:45Speaker 1: And that's what I mean. You get some creative names
- 36:47Speaker 1: these days. So why not just take it a step
- 36:49Speaker 1: further and start naming the kids whatever their parents yelled
- 36:51Speaker 1: at when they found out they were pregnant.
- 36:53Speaker 4: There'd be a lot of kids named chi Ching.
- 37:01Speaker 2: You're in the Treehouse.
- 37:03Speaker 9: Listen us online at Treehouseonair dot com.
- 37:21Speaker 2: You're in the Treehouse.
- 37:23Speaker 9: Listen us online at Treehouseonair dot com.

- 37:43Speaker 1: favorite platform on our website at Treehouseonair dot com. That's
- 37:47Speaker 1: Treehouseonair dot com. Daniel Malley, along with Trade, Trenholm and
- 37:51Speaker 1: Rossharma with you today January twenty first, twenty twenty five.
- 37:56Speaker 1: There was one more monumental birthday today that I wanted
- 37:59Speaker 1: to mention that I know will make Raj extremely happy,
- 38:07Speaker 1: and that is the great Billy Ocean turned seventy five today.
- 38:13Speaker 6: Yeah, such a jam.
- 38:20Speaker 1: What I don't know if I ever met a Billy
- 38:25Speaker 1: Ocean fan. I don't mean, I don't think ever met
- 38:28Speaker 1: as big of a Billy Ocean fan as there is
- 38:30Speaker 1: in Raj. I mean, I don't think I've ever met
- 38:33Speaker 1: a Billy Ocean fan until Raj.
- 38:36Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't get it wrong.
- 38:38Speaker 1: It's a phenomenal song, and he's a great talent, huge singer,
- 38:41Speaker 1: But I've never known anyone to be like man Billy.
- 38:44Speaker 6: Ocean of the Atlantic and the Pacific.
- 38:47Speaker 4: Billy is my.
- 38:47Speaker 6: Favorite, is my favorite ocean.
- 38:54Speaker 4: It's just good.
- 38:56Speaker 6: It's just good. And then get out of my get
- 38:58Speaker 6: out of my dreams and into my car.
- 39:00Speaker 1: What oh yeah, that's a good.
- 39:04Speaker 4: You stop it.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Yeah, his his biggest hits Caribbean Queen. Get out of
- 39:10Speaker 1: my dreams, get into my car. When the going gets tough,
- 39:14Speaker 1: the tough get going, Yeah they do.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Oh you's singing, Billy talking to my heart.
- 39:25Speaker 6: Yes we are. There's no more love on the run.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Seventy five years old today, Billy Oshan Happy birthday. That
- 39:40Speaker 1: that band right there is a national treasure.
- 39:43Speaker 6: He trually is. You just have to figure out what nationality.
- 39:50Speaker 3: He's got that so he's got European Queen, Like, there's
- 39:53Speaker 3: many versions.
- 39:54Speaker 4: Of that song.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Really, yeah, he's got like I didn't know that. Yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 1: there's what are there? So obviously the Caribbean Queen is
- 40:01Speaker 1: is the big hit. So there's European Queen.
- 40:03Speaker 6: There's European Queen.

- 41:11Speaker 1: degree burns from super hot barbecue sauce. She was awarded
- 41:16Speaker 1: two point eight million dollars in a law soup. And
- 41:19Speaker 1: so my question for you, Trey and Eu Raj inside
- 41:23Speaker 1: Today's versus inside the treehouse is would you rather have regular,
- 41:31Speaker 1: normal temperature tasty barbecue sauce or one hundred and eighty
- 41:38Speaker 1: nine degree barbecue sauce that gives you second degree burns
- 41:42Speaker 1: all the way down your lap and two point eight
- 41:45Speaker 1: million dollars. I'll give you a brief moment to consider
- 41:49Speaker 1: the circumstances. Would you rather have tasty, normal temperature barbecue
- 41:54Speaker 1: sauce or barbecue sauce so hot that it causes second
- 41:59Speaker 1: degree burns which will include grafting procedures and two point
- 42:04Speaker 1: eight million dollars. Raj, let's start with you.
- 42:14Speaker 6: Oh, hand me the money and burn my butt.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Go for it.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Uh you can? You can burn that leg? U take
- 42:21Speaker 3: the leg for two point eight million dollars, Give it

- 42:37Speaker 3: you know. Uh yeah, handicap stickers. I'll be able to
- 42:41Speaker 3: park anywhere I want. This is great and and two
- 42:44Speaker 3: point eight million dollars solid?
- 42:46Speaker 1: Gotcha? Uh, Trey, what about you?
- 42:49Speaker 4: Oh?
- 42:50Speaker 5: If I was making babies and name him give me
- 42:52Speaker 5: the cash.
- 42:59Speaker 4: That's what I'm like.
- 43:00Speaker 3: You're asking him an Indian what he would do when
- 43:02Speaker 3: he want like a second degree burn and two point
- 43:05Speaker 3: eight million dollars.
- 43:06Speaker 4: Yeah, you know how many Hampton ends I can buy
