- 2:21I want to give a shout out to Blue Wire.
- 2:23I know I announced it last week at the end of our show, but I
- 2:27want to make a huge announcement today and forever we will will
- 2:31be airing and our show will be one of the hosted shows on the
- 2:37podcast organization Blue Wire moving forward for the next
- 2:41year. We signed a contract over the
- 2:43last past, I would say 82 to 83 hours.
- 2:47I, I can't give you the exact number, but we are signed.
- 2:51We are will be airing on Blue Wire.
- 2:53Our podcast will be amongst 200 shows on Blue Wire
- 2:58Entertainment, so we're very excited about that.
- 3:00So all the fans that didn't know that or didn't stay on the show
- 3:03last Thursday all the way to the end when we had analytics, which
- 3:07probably scared people away with some of the craziness in the
- 3:10antics that we usually pull at the end of the show.
- 3:13Ladies and gentlemen, we are now one of many shows, but some of
- 3:18the top shows in America on the one and only Blue Wire.
- 3:21So that is a huge announcement and that's what we wanted to let
- 3:24every fan know. Jabba, how are you?
- 3:27Good man got Carter's dorm fridge back.
- 3:31I'm glad that fridge can't talk because I don't know what went
- 3:35on down in or around so well, got all that, got all that
- 3:40cleaned up and he just went back.
- 3:43They got they got round two of the playoffs starting tomorrow.
- 3:46They won their first round. Yeah, they, they they played
- 3:50best. It's it's weird how junior
- 3:52college works. They play instead of like you
- 3:54know when you do like conference tournaments, they do it series
- 3:58wise. So they it's best out of three
- 4:00right when they when they get into the post season.
- 4:02Don't they do that in the major leagues in the first round?
- 4:04They do it best out of five. Is that what?
- 4:06No, no wild card? They do best out of three in the
- 4:08wild card. Yeah, Wild card switch because
- 4:11it was just one game and then they switch it to a series,
- 4:14which which I like, but yeah, I just I just usually thought with
- 4:17like conference tournaments, it was like a double elimination.
- 4:21But yeah, they they do it different here, so.
- 4:24Hold on, it was. It's just, it's the play in.
- 4:26It's not the wild card. It's the play.
- 4:28In No, it's a play in. Yes, that they play three games
- 4:31best out of three and whoever whoever wins those three games
- 4:35or one, two out of those three games move on to the Wild Card
- 4:38series. So.
- 4:39Yeah, because it's only basketball and hockey that are
- 4:41all 7 seven game series, right? Oh yeah, Oh yeah, and.
- 4:44Basketball used to be 5 so. I wait like we had our 20 year
- 4:47anniversary of our College World Series win on Friday, bunch of
- 4:53the 80s guys reunion. And so we were in the suite.
- 4:56I mean, I ate way too much and then we had all kinds.
- 5:00Not a chance you. Too much if it's if it's free
- 5:04dog I am crushing. I figured that's what you would
- 5:07do. I I do, I believe that.
- 5:10But you know what, it's crazy because I don't really when I go
- 5:13to those events and I I'm a DJMCI went to a wedding.
- 5:16I don't really, I, I am see the wedding this weekend on Saturday
- 5:19and I, I don't really eat on at those weddings because I don't
- 5:23want to get sick. And when I'm dancing and I'm
- 5:25emceeing and making sure that I'm making everybody happy
- 5:29during the party, including the bride, who I'm not going to say
- 5:32it on that on air because she might be listening.
- 5:35I don't want to throw her under a bus, but she was a mean old
- 5:37bitch. So I, yeah, it was one of those
- 5:40weddings, but she wasn't mean to me, but she was mean to the DJ
- 5:44and the roadie that was working with me.
- 5:47So I, they were like, Oh my God, I did.
- 5:50What does she think she's at bridezilla or something like
- 5:52that? I was like, I don't know, she
- 5:54wasn't mean to me. I went upstairs, had a nice
- 5:56conversation with her and her husband was cool.
- 5:59As you know what, I'm not going to say anything bad about him
- 6:02and a great Greek family. I'm not.
- 6:04I'm not into going to Greek weddings because for some reason
- 6:07they're so damn picky. But this particular wedding was
- 6:10pretty cool. I actually had a lot of fun.
- 6:13They at the end of the party, they were dancing without their
- 6:15shirts. So I've never seen that before.
- 6:19No, here's the crazy thing. I've done so many weddings.
- 6:22I've I've been involved with over 5000 weddings and I've
- 6:26never ever at the end of a wedding, during a wedding or
- 6:29before a wedding, see the groomsmen take off their short
- 6:33shirts bare chested and danced around in a circle.
- 6:36All right, It was crazy. And and by the way, half of
- 6:39these guys don't have good bods, man.
- 6:40So if they're trying to impress their women, they definitely
- 6:44didn't do that. So I mean, it was, it was
- 6:48horrible. Agent Agent got married and by
- 6:53the end of the night my tie was around my head, my shirt was
- 6:55undone and I was singing. Well, I could see you doing
- 6:59that. I could see you doing.
- 7:00That it was fantastic. Well, I crashed.
- 7:02I did crash one wedding too. I've crashed one wedding.
- 7:06I used to crash weddings when I was younger and before the
- 7:10wedding crashers came out, I used to do that and me and my
- 7:13friends on Saturday and Sunday where it wasn't just weddings,
- 7:16we would crash bar mitzvahs. Bar mitzvahs because you know,
- 7:19when you go to a bar and bar mitzvah, there's a million
- 7:21family members because every single one of your cousins have
- 7:25six or seven kids. So there's like 80, you know,
- 7:28nieces and nephews and cousins and aunts and uncles.
- 7:32So I show up there with I, I did it a couple times.
- 7:35I showed up to 1 with one or two of my friends.
- 7:37I put on a yarmulke and I'm hanging out.
- 7:39I'm doing the the old dance in the middle of the circle,
- 7:42lifting up the chairs of the the newlyweds and, you know, I get
- 7:46to eat for free, eat some nice dessert and, you know, enjoy
- 7:49myself. So obviously.
- 7:51And by the way, snug. That is not true kiss my rear
- 7:54end. But nevertheless, I will say
- 7:57this. It was an interesting weekend
- 8:00and definitely interesting weekend in sports.
- 8:03We're going to bout we're about to get into maybe be an absolute
- 8:06debacle of a series because if the Knicks don't pull this one
- 8:10out, they were embarrassed in game number three.
- 8:12It was the worst loss in New York Knick history at a home
- 8:16game in a in any kind of series. So it was embarrassing what the
- 8:20Knicks put up and and they look like they didn't even show up to
- 8:23the game. I, I, I don't it looks like
- 8:25Jalen Bronson was hanging out at a movie theater with his newly
- 8:28acclaimed wife. I mean, but which by the way,
- 8:31her last name is Marx before she married into the Brunson family.
- 8:35So maybe she's related to me. I don't know.
- 8:37But nevertheless, the Knicks didn't look like the Knicks like
- 8:40they were in game one and Game 2.
- 8:42Hopefully they figured out they're at home again tonight.
- 8:46If it's packed stadium, people are looking to see like just an
- 8:50absolute fireworks and we haven't seen it yet.
- 8:53Speaking of the Knicks, we're going to get into that right
- 8:55now. The Celtics blew out the Knicks
- 8:57in Game 3/1, 15 to 93, to get their first win of the series.
- 9:02After shooting 25% from three in the first two games, the Celtics
- 9:07shot 50%. Twenty for 40 in game #3 It
- 9:11seems like they're not quitting on the three pointer.
- 9:14The Celtics scored 71 points in the first half, the second most
- 9:18points for any team in the playoffs behind a Thunder.
- 9:21Jalen Bronson and Karl Anthony Towns combined had 48 of the
- 9:25Knicks 93 points in the game. The Knicks fans were also seen
- 9:30as sarcastically cheering for Mitchell Robertson when he shot
- 9:34free throws and he went for of 12 at the free throw line.
- 9:39If free throw line. The Knicks are still in the lead
- 9:43in the series two games to 1 as they move on to game #4 which is
- 9:47about to start at Madison Square Garden.
- 9:50Well, if you're a Knicks fan, you sit here and you wonder, is
- 9:53this the same old Knicks? Are we going to have the
- 9:56opportunity to watch the Knicks botch this one up?
- 10:00Once again, this isn't A-Team, A-Team in an organization over
- 10:04the years, as we all remember the Carmelo Anthony Knicks or
- 10:07even the 90s Knicks 99, that was the last time we seen the Knicks
- 10:11in the Finals where they had to make acrobatic circus shots.
- 10:15Go ask Grandma Ma, Mr. Johnson, or any one of those players on
- 10:20that team. And it was Patrick Ewing's final
- 10:22year as a New York Knick as he was traded to the SuperSonics in
- 10:25the offseason. But again, I look at this Knick
- 10:29team, I don't know if they have that in them.
- 10:31I, I think that this team has heart.
- 10:33I think they have actually. Josh Hart, who's been amazing in
- 10:37this series, didn't seem to show up in game #3 but half of the
- 10:40players didn't. As much as everybody thinks
- 10:42Jaylen Brunson showed up with his numbers, he didn't look that
- 10:45good either. And that's a big problem.
- 10:47If Jaylen Brunson and Karl Anthony Towns don't show up and
- 10:51Mitchell Roberts can't hit free throws, there's a problem
- 10:54because you know what the Celtics are going to do later in
- 10:57the game, They're going to play hack a Mitch.
- 11:00And that is what this team is planning to do.
- 11:03They don't want anybody else to go to the free throw line
- 11:06because Mitchell Robertson can't hit a lick.
- 11:08I don't understand why Tom Thibodeau during the you know,
- 11:13the every 24 hours where they have a time to practice and go
- 11:17out there, why isn't he stick Mitchell Robertson at the free
- 11:19throw line and have him shoot 300 free throws?
- 11:22Because if this guy can't hit a free throw, this team is not
- 11:26going to win down the stretch. This has been a huge problem
- 11:30since he's come back. No, Mitchell Robertson isn't a
- 11:33good free throw shooter, but again, Mitchell Robinson has to
- 11:36do better than that if they expect to compete against a team
- 11:40that is undersized. Say whatever you want about the
- 11:42Celtics. They're not a big team.
- 11:44They have commit. They have some players that it
- 11:46stand out. I mean, Al Horford and you do
- 11:49obviously have Jason Tatum and Porzingis, who's not 100%
- 11:52healthy, but Porzingis has been up and down in this series and I
- 11:55wouldn't bet on Porzingis more than probably 15 to 20 minutes
- 11:59in this series moving forward. He's not 100% healthy and I
- 12:03don't expect him to play healthy moving forward in the playoffs.
- 12:07Nevertheless, the Knicks are the bigger and there's the stronger
- 12:11team and they have the better of the starting lineups.
- 12:13As far as I'm concerned. The first six guys matched up to
- 12:17the Celtics, I would say the Knicks are better than because
- 12:20Porzingis is an and healthy. Obviously whites up and down.
- 12:25We all know what obviously what they're the point guard position
- 12:28is. They're not 100% healthy over
- 12:30there in any kind of way. And they're two guys, Jaylen
- 12:34Brown and Jayson Tatum are up and down one place.
- 12:37Well, the other one doesn't it all.
- 12:39All it takes is one of these guys to wake up and both of them
- 12:42play good. As we saw in game #3 it's going
- 12:45to be a problem and the Knicks have to get into one of these
- 12:49guys heads. Make Jayson Tatum shoot the ball
- 12:51more, make him force forced him to shoot 3 pointers that he's
- 12:55uncomfortable shooting because when he is comfortable and he
- 12:58gets his rhythm, he is almost impossible to defend.
- 13:03And again, Karl Anthony Towns wake the hell up defensively.
- 13:07You don't have to be the best defender.
- 13:08You just need to wake up and do something on the defensive side
- 13:11of the boards and you don't do that on the offensive side of
- 13:14the boards. You played, you played very well
- 13:16on a defensive side. You've been up and down, you've
- 13:19looked horrible and and again, this is a Celtic team that isn't
- 13:22100% healthy. Porzingis isn't 100% healthy,
- 13:26which I said this and Fish would would absolutely agree to this.
- 13:30Before the series series started, I told Fish, I said,
- 13:33you know, the secret of this series, this secret of this
- 13:36series is Kristaps Porzingis. If Porzingis scores 20 to 25
- 13:41points, the Celtics are going to absolutely cream the New York
- 13:44Knicks. The Knicks right now are right
- 13:46now in a lucky position because Porzingis once again isn't 100%
- 13:51healthy. So you you sit here and you
- 13:52wonder why the Knicks laid up a lousy goose egg at Madison
- 13:56Square Garden in game number 3115 to 93.
- 13:59Here's the reason why. Tom Thibodeau and his rotations.
- 14:03When he gets caught up in the mix in the late third quarter
- 14:06and fourth quarter, he depends too much on Bronson.
- 14:09He forces his rotation to go that route throughout the game,
- 14:14especially at the end of the game.
- 14:16And he doesn't realize, hey, you know what, maybe I put Josh Hart
- 14:19on the bench. Let him be my 6th man in the
- 14:22second-half and bring them in when we're in trouble with foul
- 14:25trouble or we bring them in when he need we need a important
- 14:28steel or important rebound and and make him earn his minutes.
- 14:33Because as good as Josh Harts been in this series and he's
- 14:36been very reliable, Josh Hart plays too many minutes And and
- 14:40again, Tom Table toys train these guys to do that.
- 14:43But when you play too many minutes and you beat up your
- 14:45body, this is when you're not playing at the top of your game.
- 14:48This is when you wonder if Josh Hart is consistent enough to be
- 14:53your starter in this rotation. So, and I know everybody's going
- 14:56to say, well, what happened to Mikhail Bridges?
- 14:58What happened to him in that, in that in that game, here's what
- 15:01happened. They stop rotating and moving
- 15:05the ball on the perimeter when they fall behind as much as they
- 15:08do that in the first two games, games when they fell behind,
- 15:11they moved the ball. They got it to OG, they got it
- 15:13to Mckell Bridges, they got it to the open man.
- 15:15All of a sudden at Madison Square Garden in front of their
- 15:18home fans, what did they stop? They started to play that same
- 15:22game that the old Knicks used to do with Carmelo Anthony.
- 15:25They say get out of the hell, get the hell out of the way and
- 15:29let Jalen Bronson take over the game.
- 15:31And that doesn't work against the Celtics.
- 15:33You got to move the ball around the perimeter.
- 15:36If you don't play that way that way and you don't rotate the the
- 15:40ball around the court, then they're going to guess and
- 15:43they're going to guess, right, which they did.
- 15:44And and by the way, the Celtics absolutely out rebounded the New
- 15:48York Knicks in game #3 you cannot let the Celtics, who are
- 15:52undersized right now without Porzingis playing the minutes
- 15:55that he usually plays. You should not let Porzingis or
- 15:59any of those players out rebound you, especially with Mitchell
- 16:03Robinson, who's one of the best offensive and defensive
- 16:05rebounders in the league, Carl Anthony Towns, who's been one of
- 16:08the best rebounders in the league, especially or on the
- 16:11offensive side of the board. And and then you have Josh Hart,
- 16:14who's averaging almost 10 rebounds throughout the playoffs
- 16:17and Ogi Ananobi that's averaging about six to seven rebounds a
- 16:20game during the playoffs. This is a good rebounding team.
- 16:23They should not let a lonely and weak Celtic team that likes to
- 16:28shoot and force up threes beat you on the boards.
- 16:31And also, you look at the when when they got the rebounds with
- 16:34Mitchell Robinson, he was hacked every time.
- 16:36So they didn't get much offense out of it either.
- 16:38The Celtics had a lot of second chance points comparatively
- 16:40because they pass the ball out, not just either try to dunk it
- 16:43back or have Mitchell Robinson shoot free throws, which is
- 16:45obviously turn out to be a disaster.
- 16:46Like you were saying 4 for 12 is not ideal circumstances.
- 16:49That's a 33% field goal rate free throw rate for Mitchell
- 16:52Robinson. And you were mentioning too with
- 16:54the ball movement. Like I think Jalen Brunson did a
- 16:55good job creating his own shots, but his passing decisions were I
- 16:58think kind of off at certain points to Josh Hart.
- 17:00I'm going to give a little bit of a pass to because he was open
- 17:02on on the three a lot in the first quarter.
- 17:04And I think even in the second quarter when he came back in and
- 17:07they weren't passing the ball at all, like just because he had a
- 17:10hot hand though, they don't go too back to him and just didn't
- 17:12really make much sense. OG and Anobi too was shooting
- 17:15very awkward shots as well, like he was when he was driving in
- 17:18the hoop. He was turning around a lot like
- 17:20Carmelo Anthony, but without the floor spacing that Carmelo
- 17:22Manthey had in his prime. It was just very awkward
- 17:25offensive styles of game. And that's the not ideal
- 17:27circumstances. You want and.
- 17:28You fish Fish if Fish is posting right now and I see what he's
- 17:31saying that the Knicks out rebounded the Celtics in game #3
- 17:34no, they didn't. Because at the end of the game,
- 17:36that was when the Knicks were rebounding.
- 17:38The Knicks were in the fourth quarter, they were down by 9
- 17:41rebounds and then the Celtics were absolutely dominating.
- 17:44So the Celtics were allowing them to get back in the
- 17:47rebounds. It wasn't even close the Celtics
- 17:50at the end of the game because it was so they were so fast
- 17:53moving around the the second-half in the third quarter
- 17:56and they they out rebounded him so much in the first half and at
- 18:00in the beginning of the third quarter.
- 18:02The Knicks had no chance of catching up to the Celtics again
- 18:05like they did in game #1 and game #2.
- 18:08That's why at the end of the game, go watch the game over
- 18:11again. The last 8 minutes of the game
- 18:13when the game was over, that was when the Knicks started
- 18:17rebounding the ball. That was when the Celtics didn't
- 18:19care about rebounding the ball. Yeah.
- 18:22And also you look at the flaws that the Knicks had in the
- 18:24second-half of the season where two things we were concerned
- 18:26about was bench points and perimeter defense at certain
- 18:28points. Because the Knicks were I think
- 18:306th worst in the second-half of the season when it came to
- 18:32guarding the three. And they never adjusted to guard
- 18:34the top of the key 3 at all whatsoever.
- 18:36You start A to make a couple shots there.
- 18:39Derek White made it a deeper one at the top of the key and never
- 18:41adjusted. And that's the things that we
- 18:43were praising Tom Thibodeau for when the Knicks won game one,
- 18:46like they were finally making adjustments to get the Celtics
- 18:48maybe either shooting more threes or shooting them in less
- 18:51comfortable spots. And now they just kept rolling
- 18:53with that top of the key 3. When Peyton Pritchard came in
- 18:55the game, he kind of did the the wing three a little more often
- 18:58and the Knicks never adjusted to that either.
- 19:00And then the bench scoring, it was nonexistent once again,
- 19:02Miles McBride at five points, I think that led all the bench
- 19:04players like that. You're not going to be able to
- 19:06beat the Celtics like that, Miles McBride.
- 19:07Sticks, I don't he should not make the team next year.
- 19:10If I were the Knicks, they gave him a a three-year extension.
- 19:14What was it last year? He has two years left on his
- 19:16extension or one more year. I would move McBride in the
- 19:19offseason if a team needs a point guard as we saw what they
- 19:22did with Emmanuel quickly. I think that's what the Knicks
- 19:25should do Trade McBride if Karl Anthony Towns doesn't work with
- 19:29some of the other guys that they have on this roster right now.
- 19:31This team will never win a championship because Porzingis
- 19:35is not 100% and they still can't compete in a game.
- 19:39Really the series has been the battle of second halves.
- 19:43It really has been. The Knicks show up in the
- 19:45second-half in the first two games.
- 19:47They won both those two games, especially in the fourth quarter
- 19:50and the overtime in the third game.
- 19:53They absolutely got demolished in the first half and pretty
- 19:56much got demolished in the second-half.
- 19:58The Knicks were playing catch up really throughout that game and
- 20:01it was it was expected. I don't know why any Knick fan
- 20:04thought that the Boston Celtics were going to go to Madison
- 20:07Square Garden and not show. Up after being pulverized by
- 20:11every single person when it came to the media.
- 20:14All, all for really for the 2448 hours before the game.
- 20:19So I expected this to happen. Now the Knicks are going to have
- 20:23to put the Band-Aid on. They're going to have to stop
- 20:25the bleeding if they expect to win this series.
- 20:29They cannot leave Madison Square Garden not winning one of these
- 20:32games. Yeah, I just, I just hope it
- 20:34doesn't carry over. As you know, we see that
- 20:37sometimes you go in, you go into Boston and absolutely do what
- 20:40they did. And then you go home and, you
- 20:43know, now you got people paying crazy amounts of money for
- 20:45tickets because they're like, oh, this is a new year, this is
- 20:48a new team. And if you looked at game three
- 20:51to the turnovers, they were 9:00 to 9:00.
- 20:53So it wasn't like they killed themselves.
- 20:54Yeah, Brunson did for some passes.
- 20:57But you know, it just it was, it was glaringly obvious that we we
- 21:00didn't expect a sweep, I don't think, obviously.
- 21:03And we knew it was going to happen.
- 21:05And you guys see it, you know, closer than I do being being
- 21:09there and hear all the the media market stuff.
- 21:11And you know how they're going to come out.
- 21:13They they're going to keep shooting.
- 21:14It's it's like they said, you miss 100, you take 100 more,
- 21:17you're going to shoot yourself out of the slump.
- 21:19And you know, they're just they, they have too much talent.
- 21:22And I think I think Tibbs needs to you're right and understand
- 21:26the rotation and, you know, use those guys.
- 21:29And, and we've seen, you know, when they called the when Magic
- 21:32Johnson called out Reddick, when, you know, he played his
- 21:36starting 5 the whole second-half didn't rest him.
- 21:38Didn't. I mean, I'm not saying you have
- 21:39to go 9 deep, but hey, we're, we're deep into the season and,
- 21:44you know, let let's manage this a little bit better where you're
- 21:46not running out of juice at the end and just have nothing.
- 21:49I think if he finds a better way to manage the lineup and
- 21:53Boston's shooting the ball great tonight too.
- 21:55So you know, you knew it was going to happen.
- 21:57So it it'll be interesting to see how he combats playing from
- 22:02behind and if and if he does. Make Jabba.
- 22:04This has been going on really throughout this series.
- 22:07They fall behind so badly and they got to play catch up.
- 22:11They can hit early in the game, they fall like behind like 20 or
- 22:1518 points and then all of a sudden OG Ananobi hits a three.
- 22:19Mikhail Bridges figures it out. Jalen Bronson figures it out.
- 22:22Why aren't these guys starting off strong?
- 22:24I don't get it. You're practicing.
- 22:26You had 24 hours to figure out, hey, maybe we need to pace,
- 22:30speed up the pace, make the pace a little bit our our dimension,
- 22:34our way of playing basketball. No, what the Knicks are doing
- 22:37right now is they're playing the same way they've played
- 22:40throughout this series. Even against Detroit.
- 22:42What did they do? They started off slow.
- 22:45And you cannot do that against the Celtics.
- 22:47Because if the Celtics want to put that, if they want to put
- 22:51their the foot on the throat, they could do right now.
- 22:53Because the Celtics going to go up by at least 20 right now and
- 22:56say, you know what? They got to catch up now.
- 22:58We don't have to play 100%. We just have to play subpar at
- 23:02best. We don't.
- 23:03We could compete and we can win this game because we're the
- 23:06better team. And that's what they think in
- 23:07their little pea brains. They already think that they're
- 23:10the better team. Why?
- 23:12Because they won the championship last year and you
- 23:14got Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal and everybody
- 23:17in the media saying, oh, the Knicks don't have a chance.
- 23:20They don't stand a chance against this Boston Celtic team.
- 23:23They're the Champions. They're the most talented team.
- 23:25This isn't the same Boston Celtic team from last year.
- 23:29They're not, even though Porzingis wasn't 100% healthy
- 23:32last year. But in throughout the Finals,
- 23:35Porzingis figured out who he was.
- 23:37And as soon as he did that, it was over that there was no way
- 23:41Dallas was going to win that series when Porzingis figured it
- 23:43out. And that goes to the Knicks,
- 23:45too. Right now, they cannot let
- 23:47Porzingis get back in the. Series don't sell the short man
- 23:51short. Errol the guy is actually 62.
- 23:54He's not short at all. But.
- 23:55Well, that's short for the NBA standard.
- 23:57Short for a star in the NBA. And something that we don't talk
- 24:00enough about is there's really never been a team centered
- 24:03around a guy 62 or shorter that's ever won.
- 24:06And that's or at least maybe since like the beginning of the
- 24:09NBA. You know, when it was George
- 24:11Mike and era type times, right? But he's here's I got a few
- 24:16things. He just went on a crazy run.
- 24:17The Knicks, they had to call timeout.
- 24:19Knicks came back playing their game, hitting, you know, mid
- 24:22range jumpers, letting Miles Bridges go to work, get Anna
- 24:25Nobi going a little bit on his shot.
- 24:27And then Jalen getting hidden shots in people's faces and just
- 24:30killing their hearts because he's not going to give up.
- 24:32They they're down all the time. They're used to being in this
- 24:35position. Unfortunately, when Boston hit
- 24:39shots, they were just going Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing,
- 24:41catch and shoot 3. And when they're playing like
- 24:44that, they're almost impossible to beat.
- 24:46You have to really be on them early in the shot clock because
- 24:49they're going to take the first wide open three they can get.
- 24:51And in game three, I mean, they hit In games 1 and 2, they were
- 24:5525 of 125%. In game three, they were 20 of
- 24:584050%, so obviously that's going to be a big difference and I
- 25:03would imagine in this game they fall somewhere in between those
- 25:06two numbers because that's where they should be.
- 25:07That's normal, right around third high 30s, which is what
- 25:10they are. Didn't they average 36?
- 25:12Isn't that what you said? Arrow Yep, it's, it's a rat, you
- 25:14know, and they've shot the most by far in the league.
- 25:17You know, I think it was 17.8 threes per game.
- 25:21Throughout this season, they had the most 100 point games in the
- 25:25NBA. They're they had the most and
- 25:28then and, and throughout the first two games of the series,
- 25:30they didn't score 100. What did they do in game #2 I
- 25:34mean game #3 they scored 115. And when they score over 100,
- 25:38they're very hard to beat. The Knicks have to keep them.
- 25:41I wouldn't say keep them under 100, but keep them closer to 100
- 25:45if they want to win this game. And you cannot play shoot tick
- 25:49for tack. Oh, I'm going to let Tatum hit
- 25:51that three and we're going to come back down and let OG hit an
- 25:54open three. That doesn't work in this game,
- 25:56in this series. Knicks are going to have to play
- 25:59dirty. The Knicks are going to have to
- 26:00play with heart if they expect to win this series.
- 26:03It's not going to be easy. And any Knick fan sitting here
- 26:06today that thought it was going to be, well, then you guys are
- 26:09blind and you haven't watched the Knicks enough this year or
- 26:13watch the Celtics enough all season long.
- 26:15This team is so very talented. They have Jaylen Brown, who's
- 26:19one of the best 2 dimensional players, two way players in the
- 26:22NBA. You can't argue that.
- 26:23You have Jayson Tatum, who's also a very good two way player,
- 26:27but he's hot cold and if you have a a cold, a very cold Jason
- 26:31Tatum, he's not going to score more than 12 to 15 points.
- 26:34We've seen that throughout the season.
- 26:36And Porzingis, we don't know what Porzingis is going to show
- 26:39up because he's not 100% healthy.
- 26:41So you look at the team right now, who you going to trust
- 26:44White? Are you going to bet on White to
- 26:47hit the open shots when you need them to in the fourth quarter?
- 26:50Well, it hasn't happened throughout this series, so I'm
- 26:53not going to trust him yet anymore or I I won't trust him
- 26:56like I did in and in Series 1 as he was hitting all these open
- 27:00shots and looking like he was a superstar player.
- 27:03White is what he always has been.
- 27:05He's become a better shooter in the NBA, but he's a dimensional
- 27:09defensive player. That's what he is.
- 27:11That's why he's on the court. He's supposed to be out there to
- 27:14stop the best point guard, or you can argue a top three-point
- 27:18guard like Jalen Bronson in all of basketball.
- 27:21I want to go back to the point that Jabba made as well when you
- 27:23were talking about Tom Thibodeau and his rotations to like, even
- 27:26if you don't play as money guys as as you'd want them to play,
- 27:29like I would want them to play 8 or 9 guys too, Jabba.
- 27:31But like, even if you don't do that, at least maybe take them
- 27:33out maybe quicker substitutions earlier because that was the
- 27:36other thing that hurt them in the the second part of the first
- 27:38quarter. Peyton Pritchard getting hot as
- 27:40well. And they have all these
- 27:41perimeter defenders. You can leave one of them in the
- 27:43game and then just put your bench players in there and then
- 27:45switch out the starters, switch out Hart and OG at the same time
- 27:48or something like that. Like you got to be a little more
- 27:50creative. You're going to be that stubborn
- 27:51with the rotation. Yeah, no.
- 27:55And I, it's interesting because I look too and it Porzingis has
- 27:59been paying anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes.
- 28:02I don't know if he's going to probably play that much because
- 28:06they really haven't said what his injury is, but I think he's
- 28:09a huge part and if you can keep him off the court.
- 28:11It's a leg injury. It's been a leg injury.
- 28:13And he was also dealing with an illness, apparently.
- 28:15And I think it's an Achilles. I think it's an Achilles.
- 28:17Injury. You jinxed it with White.
- 28:19I think he's 4 from 4 from three right now.
- 28:22That guy, that guy is real streaky.
- 28:24But you're not wrong. He's a guy that's a catch and
- 28:26shoot guy. He's you don't want him creating
- 28:28off the dribble trying to hit his three.
- 28:30And that's the problem. The Celtics are so good at
- 28:32getting it to all these different catch and shoot guys.
- 28:35You just got to play on top of everyone, every possession.
- 28:38That's exhausting and it gets to me to the point I wanted to make
- 28:40the whole time and speed. You touched on a little bit with
- 28:43the rotations. Why is Jalen Brunson playing 40
- 28:45minutes in a blowout? Because he played 40 minutes in
- 28:49game three. What are we doing?
- 28:51That game was over. Get him.
- 28:53He shouldn't have played more than 32 minutes in that game in
- 28:56a million years that there's no point.
- 28:59You got to save him, especially that guy.
- 29:01I know you want to compete. They did come back down, you
- 29:04know, but they were down 30 in this game.
- 29:06It wasn't 20. There's no reason he needs to be
- 29:09in there past the 10 minute mark in the fourth quarter at all, at
- 29:13all. And these are the types of
- 29:15things that drive me crazy about Tibbs is you should know better
- 29:18at that point. You should, you should try to
- 29:21preserve your guys for a long series and four long series if
- 29:25you can make it there, right? That's the thing that I don't
- 29:28think he considers. When you have a short rotation
- 29:31and then if the game's over, why not see what some of those guys
- 29:35can do in some of these moments? Maybe Tyler Kolek is ready for
- 29:39the moment. Maybe you know.
- 29:41That's never going to happen, fish, That's never going to
- 29:44happen. But you know what I mean?
- 29:45Like, it bothers me about him and I think it bothers a lot of
- 29:47the expense about about tips that he doesn't really use those
- 29:52moments to try to make fringe pieces better.
- 29:54Think about what happened the year before.
- 29:55They got lucky that they had to play Alec Burke so much down the
- 29:58stretch because everyone got hurt.
- 30:00And Alec Burke's had these great moments in the playoffs because
- 30:03he had some run. Well, I mean, that was luck
- 30:05because guys got hurt. Imagine that guy didn't get any
- 30:08run at all heading into the playoffs.
- 30:09Then they needed him. He would have been cold.
- 30:11He would have missed everything. It's to me.
- 30:14To me sitting here and watching this game right now, it's
- 30:17starting to give me agita because I already know what's
- 30:19going to happen. This Celtic team is going to go
- 30:22on a 10 O run and the Knicks are going to play catch up again.
- 30:25They have to obviously keep this game close, even closer than
- 30:30they have throughout this series because every single time the
- 30:34two games that they won, they're coming back from 20 point
- 30:37deficits. That's not going to work in this
- 30:39game in Madison Square Garden. Why?
- 30:41Because we've heard it from many different people.
- 30:43When you're in front of your fans and everybody's starting to
- 30:46booing and you're seeing it's quiet.
- 30:48It's not like it's over there in Boston where everybody is doing
- 30:52all this stuff and getting agitated when your team is
- 30:55hitting shots. It's not like that your team
- 30:58gets when your team's not playing well, the fans get
- 31:01restless and then you hear charp chirps in the the crowd and you
- 31:04have all the other ex players sitting around saying things to
- 31:08you saying I'll get back in, do this, do that.
- 31:10It's not the same thing. And when you play at home,
- 31:13there's more pressure on you, especially in Madison Square
- 31:15Garden when there's 19,000 fans packed out wanting to see you
- 31:20make those shots and and show a highlight reel on ESPN.
- 31:24And that's something that the Knicks have not really done
- 31:27throughout these two series. Even against Detroit, they were
- 31:30crawling through the finish line.
- 31:32You cannot do that against the Celtics.
- 31:34When you have a chance to put your foot on their necks, you do
- 31:38it. And I'm not saying in game #3
- 31:41I'm saying right now, if the Knicks want to win this series,
- 31:44because it's going 7 no matter what, if the Knicks want to win
- 31:47this series, they have to win game #4 #4 they had to tell
- 31:52Boston, and they got to explain to Boston, listen, you might
- 31:55have came in and game #3 and embarrassed us.
- 31:58Well, guess what? We're going out out there and
- 32:00game #4 and we're going to have our fans on our side, and we're
- 32:03going to go out there and we're going to win the game and go
- 32:05back to Boston and try to stick your snot up your you know what?
- 32:09So, and I'm not going to say what I really wanted to say
- 32:11because it might have gotten somebody sick, but nevertheless,
- 32:15you understand what I'm saying. The Knicks need to put more
- 32:18pressure on the Celtics in game #4 so when they go back home and
- 32:22they're down 31, they're going to four shots.
- 32:24They're going to do things that they're uncomfortable doing.
- 32:27And maybe the Knicks ended in Game 5.
- 32:30Maybe the Knicks ended in in in a game that nobody thought that
- 32:33was going to happen in five games except probably you Fish
- 32:36or some crazy other Knick fan. So I I'm just, I'm just speaking
- 32:41the truth here. The Knicks cannot let Boston
- 32:44actually create the path of where this series could go.
- 32:48And Boston can win four games in a row.
- 32:50We've seen it. Can we go back with the Red Sox?
- 32:53I remember the Yankees a long, long time ago.
- 32:56They were up three O Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Mariano
- 33:00Rivera, all those great Yankees. They were up three O never
- 33:04happened before. And you know the when I'm
- 33:07talking about the American Championship, American League
- 33:10Championship and what happens the Boston's with Curt Schilling
- 33:14crawl back into that series and finally grow life.
- 33:18And once you get them and you get the fans and the Boston
- 33:22fans, because it's New York versus Boston back into a
- 33:25series, it's over. And I'm not, I'm not saying that
- 33:28could happen with basketball. It's a different sport.
- 33:31But we've seen the Boston fans and we've seen the New York
- 33:34fans. They can't stand one another.
- 33:36So you want to see this end up a little bit differently.
- 33:39And you want to see the Knicks fight for a chance to to maybe
- 33:43win an NBA title, something they haven't won since 1973.
- 33:47The Pacers blew out the Cavaliers in game number 4129 to
- 33:521:09 to take a three one series lead.
- 33:55That's what we want the Knicks to do.
- 33:56The Cavaliers also lost Donovan Mitchell, the Spider to an ankle
- 34:00injury in the second quarter and did not return in the
- 34:03second-half after feeling pain during warmups.
- 34:07The Cavs have also been without Evan Mobley, DeAndre Hunter and
- 34:12Darius Garland at points during the series.
- 34:15Garland had just 10 points in game #3 but had 21 points
- 34:20without Mitchell in game #4 The Pacers had seven different
- 34:25players in double figures in Game 4, despite Tyrese
- 34:28Halliburton only having 11 points.
- 34:31Mitchell is listed as a game time decision for game #5 with
- 34:36the Cavaliers season on the line.
- 34:38By the way, the Cavaliers are done.
- 34:40I don't care what Kenny Atkinson says.
- 34:42I don't care what anybody says, there would be an absolute
- 34:45miracle with the injuries. The Cavaliers are withstanding
- 34:49right now, not only in the series.
- 34:51Throughout the playoffs, Garland hasn't been 100% healthy.
- 34:54Evan Mobley hasn't been 100% healthy throughout the playoffs.
- 34:57And now you have your best player in Donovan Mitchell, the
- 34:59Spider, not 100% healthy and he's questionable.
- 35:03He's going to play guys. When you hear that he's
- 35:05questionable, it usually means the guy's going to show up and
- 35:08play. But are you going to trust that
- 35:10he's the same out of the Mitchell?
- 35:12He's not even 70% guys. He is going to be a decoy on the
- 35:17on the court. It's going to be Garland show.
- 35:19It's going to be Garland show if they expect to win a game #5 and
- 35:23I just don't think they have it. I just think the Cavaliers, as
- 35:27young and as agile they've been throughout the playoffs over the
- 35:31last three years. And we all know because we're
- 35:33Knicks fans and we've seen him get a limited not once, but
- 35:35twice. Against the Knicks, you had the
- 35:37best record in basketball practically the whole season.
- 35:41And then you go into the playoffs and you sweep.
- 35:45You sweep in the first round. And everybody thought this is
- 35:47going to be easy all the way to the Eastern Conference finals
- 35:49when I have to play the Celtics or even the Knicks.
- 35:52And the Pacers show up and Hal Burton and his father are
- 35:55dancing, you know, in a circle, you know, like they're like the
- 35:59Wizard of Oz. I mean, where's the Wicked Witch
- 36:02when you need her? I mean, seriously, it's this is.
- 36:04Who's pathetic? Where's?
- 36:05Where's job as a rookie? Costumes.
- 36:07Exactly. Well, he was a cowardly lion.
- 36:09He was a cowardly lion. But honestly, that's what the
- 36:12Cavs are. They're cowardly.
- 36:13They're cowards. They're not showing up in these
- 36:16games. They're not putting up, you
- 36:18know, the points that they need to.
- 36:19And no matter what they do or in the positions where they have in
- 36:23the third quarter a chance to come back and take your lead,
- 36:27they fall behind again because you have guys like Tyrese, Hal
- 36:30Burton and some of these bench players.
- 36:32By the way, the Pacers have a a very unique bunch coming off the
- 36:36bench. This is one of the more
- 36:38underrated benches in the NBA. They've been fantastic.
- 36:41I remember him last year against the Knicks and why they went to
- 36:45the Eastern Conference finals against the Celtics.
- 36:47And I'm watching it even this year.
- 36:48This team is a lot better than I ever thought they were and very
- 36:52well coached because Rick Carlisle has been a successful
- 36:55coach in the NBA. He's won an NBA championship and
- 36:58he understands how to teach young talent.
- 37:02And that's what the Pacers are. They're young.
- 37:03Tyrese. Tyrese Halpern, what is he,
- 37:062324? He's a youngster.
- 37:08Practically this whole team is under the age of 27 years old.
- 37:13This is one of the younger teams that have a tremendous
- 37:15opportunity right now. Because if it is the Knicks and
- 37:18the Pacers, guess who beat the Knicks last year?
- 37:20The Pacers. The Pacers go to the Finals
- 37:22against any one of these four other teams right now in the
- 37:25West. Do you think they have a chance
- 37:27100% and why do you think Reggie Miller wants to see the Knicks
- 37:31play them? Because he knows they can beat
- 37:33them. That's why why they beat him
- 37:35once, they can beat him again. That that's the facts.
- 37:39Jack and I bothers the hell out of me.
- 37:41But Nick fans sitting here, they have a lot to worry about with
- 37:44the Celtic team and I see Fish, he's got his hand over his head
- 37:47because it's probably bad and I'm not really paying attention
- 37:50nevertheless. It's terrible.
- 37:52Jason Tatum, what's the score right now?
- 37:54Pulling up from what's the score?
- 37:55Jason Tatum just hit three straight threes, pulling up from
- 37:58like 30. 5 So what's the score right now?
- 38:00They're down 9 at the end of the first.
- 38:02Not surprised and this is going to be this is going to be
- 38:05throughout this game in this series.
- 38:07If Jason Tatum finds this rhythm, the Knicks don't stand a
- 38:10chance in the series. And again, Jalen Bronson's got
- 38:13to stop showing up in the later quarters and and putting on a
- 38:17show. He needs to show up throughout
- 38:19this series. He has to go tick for tack
- 38:22against Jason Tatum. He's their best player.
- 38:24And supposedly, as Nick fans say, Jalen Bronson is the Knicks
- 38:28best player. So you got to show up and be the
- 38:30best player on the basketball court.
- 38:31If he doesn't, they don't stand a chance against the Celtic team
- 38:34that is smelling blood. They're not tasting it, they're
- 38:38smelling it. You just got to stay close.
- 38:40They play dumb in the fourth quarter.
- 38:42They do. They really do.
- 38:43They just keep chucking it. You got to play with a lead
- 38:46differently at that point, differently.
- 38:48When you have a dangerous team like the Knicks, there's no
- 38:51point at all in playing fast, taking shots early in the shot
- 38:55clock when you have a 25 point lead ever.
- 38:58And they've done it every game, even went the one they want.
- 39:02They just hit haven't hit their shots in the one they want.
- 39:05And the Knicks couldn't hit broadside of a barn in that
- 39:07game. They're 9 for 14 from three in
- 39:09the first quarter. It's outrageous.
- 39:11Derek White has four of them. Tatum has three or four of them
- 39:14himself. Pritchard hit one with like,
- 39:17Brunson right in his face. It's been terrible.
- 39:20They have, they're going to, they're going to ride and die.
- 39:22They're going to ride and die with the three.
- 39:24That's what they're. Going to do as hot as they get
- 39:25is as cold as they'll get for stretches as well.
- 39:28And again, if they if they can keep it within a dozen going
- 39:33into the fourth quarter, the way this team plays in the fourth
- 39:36quarter, they they easily let you back in.
- 39:38And the Knicks are really good at getting, I mean, they already
- 39:41got 2 offensive fouls on Jaylen Brown, Josh Hart, drew both of
- 39:44them I believe and he's out of the game.
- 39:47It doesn't matter because Jason Tatum is playing.
- 39:48We got like the star mode from Mario Brothers right now or
- 39:51something. Just like can't be stopped at
- 39:53all. It's just ridiculous.
- 39:55And you know, he's a great player, so that happens every
- 39:58once in a while. But you're right, Bronson's got
- 40:00to do the same thing. Bronson is the best player on
- 40:02this team. He's right in front of his own
- 40:04fans where all these old Knicks is sitting back there saying
- 40:07this is the greatest point guard the Knicks have ever had.
- 40:10OK, well, Clive Frazier won two championships.
- 40:13Bronson, go out there and win a championship for this Nick team
- 40:15and then you'll be considered a statue.
- 40:18They'll consider a statue and building a statue of you in
- 40:21front of Madison Square Garden in the future.
- 40:23As we've seen Stefan Marbury, he wasn't good here, but in China,
- 40:26they got a big old statue over there in China of the great
- 40:29Stephon Marbury holding his little star berries as they're
- 40:34worth a buck over here in New York, which really didn't last
- 40:37more than 24 to 48 hours when you were playing on a basketball
- 40:40court with, but nevertheless either did the Iverson's.
- 40:42By the way, the Iverson's were absolutely futured.
- 40:44You wire those on the basketball court too.
- 40:46The souls pop off after the second or third time.
- 40:49So I know all about the Iverson's.
- 40:50Sorry Alan, I love you as a basketball player.
- 40:53Your sneakers sucked. The Anthony Hardaway's were
- 40:55pretty good by the way too. I like those.
- 40:57One of the pennies. Those ones are good.
- 40:58Yeah, I like those. The pennies were good with the
- 41:01air on the side of them. I actually liked the pennies,
- 41:04but and they actually remade them, redone them and have the
- 41:07new different colors. Now they got them purple and
- 41:09blue and yellow and all the different.
- 41:11Did you like the Kemps? Looked like the circle ones, the
- 41:16green buck ones. The problem with the camps is
- 41:18they look like an alien shoe. So did the Kobe's.
- 41:20Remember the first two Kobe's? It looked like they were alien
- 41:23shoes. That's what they.
- 41:25Were he was with Adidas when he started.
- 41:26Yes, yes. And so was by the way, so was
- 41:29Kevin Garnett and I have Kevin Garnett's first sneakers as as a
- 41:32basketball player, which actually in pretty good
- 41:35condition for the for you how how old they are.
- 41:37They got to be over 2627 years old.
- 41:40I have Kevin Garnett's first pair of sneakers ever made, so.
- 41:45You got to remember he was still with Adidas because remember he
- 41:47said impossible is nothing after they won and center.
- 41:50Do you remember the Do you remember the other big man?
- 41:53Do you remember the other big man that signed with Adidas when
- 41:55he got drafted? Oh, there were some that were
- 41:58only there for like a year and then left.
- 42:00He's very he's one of the greatest of all time.
- 42:04What? Jordan No.
- 42:06He's a big man. He was drafted in the late 90s.
- 42:12Michael Olo Candy No. He's a Hall of Famer, you idiot.
- 42:18He's a Hall of Famer. And then like a true big.
- 42:22Man, true big man. He's a big man.
- 42:24He was. He played the four and a five.
- 42:25Are you guys going to give up? Because yeah, it was Tim Duncan.
- 42:30It was Tim Duncan. It was Tim Duncan, Tim Duncan.
- 42:33Tim Duncan was the one the other one that signed with Adidas when
- 42:36he came into the NBA. So I don't know how long he was
- 42:39with Adidas, Adidas, but he was he was there with Adidas his
- 42:43rookie season. I think he signed a 5 or 6 year
- 42:45deal. But nevertheless, I never owned
- 42:48Duncan's because I always thought they were ugly.
- 42:49But the garnets were actually pretty cool.
- 42:51I like blue and and white and obviously played for the
- 42:54Timberwolves and that was their color.
- 42:56So that's that's what they were. So I but.
- 42:59Did you ever get the the The Dunk Man's from Shaq?
- 43:03No, I never but by the way, has anybody seen shacks real shoe?
- 43:07Has anybody actually held Shaquille O'neals shoe?
- 43:10They're like size 20 fours, man. They're about the size of my
- 43:13sternum. It's ridiculous how big they
- 43:15are. It's it's, it's not human.
- 43:18He's not human. His.
- 43:19His shoe side. His.
- 43:20His. Then they say like a whole
- 43:21gallon of milk can go in his shoe or something like that.
- 43:24Yes, it's it's ridiculous, but. I I did like the Barclays though
- 43:28too. Yes, I like the Barclays I have.
- 43:30The Barclays, I have the old Barclays.
- 43:33I actually, they remade them after he retired and I bought a
- 43:36pair of them. I saw somebody wearing them and
- 43:38I searched them all over social media and eBay and somebody was
- 43:42selling them on eBay and I bought a pair of them.
- 43:44So I I actually have them and they were brand new, by the way,
- 43:47nobody for them. So I actually have those too,
- 43:50but I collect sneakers. But to get back to what we were
- 43:52talking about with the Cavaliers, the Cavaliers are
- 43:55done. No matter what happens, Donovan
- 43:56Mitchell comes back 100% healthy.
- 43:58It's not going to make a difference.
- 43:59I think obviously the Pacers have put their taken.
- 44:03I don't know, they've taken somebody's dirty up.
- 44:05Actually, by the way, Tyrese Halliburton's woman is pretty
- 44:09damn hot, OK, So if she took her panties off and shoved it down
- 44:12one of their throats, I'd actually accept it.
- 44:15I'd open my mouth and say come on baby, stick them down this
- 44:18throat. Stick it down this Troutche.
- 44:20Anyways, as as I would say anyways, to get back to what we
- 44:23were talking about. But I I think the Cavaliers are
- 44:26done. I don't think the Cavaliers have
- 44:28any chance of coming back in this series because obviously
- 44:31the better team is dominating this.
- 44:33Speaking of, what are we going to say?
- 44:36Well, I mean, if Donovan Mitchell isn't going to play,
- 44:39he's playing. There's he's.
- 44:40Going to play. Probably out he's saying that
- 44:43he's got a bad ankle. He's playing like they they're
- 44:45saying questionable as like he's normally would be doubtful in
- 44:49this situation. He's playing, you watch.
- 44:51Early in that game, like that looked like, I mean, I've showed
- 44:55the clip, he wasn't. They were just shooting in
- 44:57between like stoppages and it took him out.
- 45:00He was not touched, it was a non contact.
- 45:03They're going to shoot him up with whatever.
- 45:05They shoot people up with some kind of.
- 45:10Creatine or something? He'll get a Toradol shot.
- 45:12There it is a Toradol. They'll put some topical on
- 45:15like, yeah, that's honestly like, that's crazy.
- 45:18Like when I think about like, ankle injuries and how like,
- 45:21they can manifest, that's kind of what happened to Derek.
- 45:24Like he was playing through it when he actually blew his ankle
- 45:26out diving for that ball. Yep, kind of the same thing and
- 45:30it just. Gave out eventually and yeah,
- 45:32ready to go at any. Moment Yep and then so you gotta
- 45:35you gotta worry about that too. If you do bring him back and and
- 45:39have that feeling that you still have a chance, you know it, it
- 45:41could be it could do more harm than good.
- 45:43Donovan Mitchell is going to play in game #5 I don't know
- 45:47where he's going to be at, but he'll be 7075%.
- 45:50It's not going to make a difference if he was 8590 or
- 45:5395%. I'm just letting you guys know
- 45:55that I just think they've, the Pacers have completely ended
- 45:59their thought that they have a chance in this series.
- 46:01And, and Kenny Atkinson, I got to give him a lot of credit cuz
- 46:04after, after the games, he's out there very, you know, very
- 46:09ecstatic. And he believes that he's team
- 46:11is going to be able to come back in this series and win like any
- 46:13other coach. But I just don't think with the
- 46:16Pacers and Rick Carlisle, Rick Carlisle, such a good coach.
- 46:20He's a great defensive mind. Coaching Kenny right now, like I
- 46:23think that we have to invention before we leave it that they
- 46:26went to a 2-3 zone in game three and shut them down.
- 46:31And what does Carlisle do? Completely changes the offense
- 46:33in game four and shreds the zone because he knows how to coach
- 46:37with the best of them. Yes, he got like it.
- 46:40Kenny's gonna have to come back with something pretty special to
- 46:43be able to win this series. I just don't think he has it in
- 46:46him. I think Carlisle's a step ahead
- 46:47of him, even if he is the coach of the year.
- 46:49Again, we'll have to see how Kenny Atkinson is going to play
- 46:54this in a game #5 where a lot of people think they're done,
- 46:57including yours truly. It would be a miracle if they
- 47:00come back in this series and take it to a game seven.
- 47:01I just don't see it even with a healthy Donovan Mitchell.
- 47:04I think this team really just doesn't have it and they didn't
- 47:08have it last year either. I I just think that when you go
- 47:12into the regular season and everybody says, wow, this team
- 47:14is going to be the team to beat just like OK C when it comes to
- 47:17the playoffs, it's a completely different dog.
- 47:20And I just don't think they're the type of dog that is going to
- 47:23beat the Celtics or beat the Knicks.
- 47:25The Pacers are a team that have nothing to lose.
- 47:28What do they have anything to lose with?
- 47:30They got one of the best young point guards in the league that
- 47:33his father's dancing on the sidelines and threatening people
- 47:36after games. And then they have a bunch of
- 47:39players that are good but not great.
- 47:42They don't have to be great. All you need is to believe in
- 47:45your star player and your team and your coach and call the
- 47:49right plays and call the right defensive plays and you can win
- 47:52a game. The Nuggets and the Thunder and
- 47:54now tied 2 to 2 after the Nuggets won game #3 in Denver.
- 47:58The Thunder won game #4 The two teams tied for at least the
- 48:03first quarter in points and game in a game in NBA day history
- 48:08with the Thunder leading 17/8 which is 25 combined points.
- 48:14Aaron Gordon hit another clutch buzzer beater in game #3 to send
- 48:18the game to overtime, his third buzzer beater of the playoffs so
- 48:22far. The Timberwolves beat the
- 48:23Warriors one O 2 to 97 to take A21 series lead.
- 48:28Anthony Edwards score 36 points in game #3 and the Jimmy Buckets
- 48:34of himself put up 33. But it wasn't enough for the
- 48:39Warriors without Steph Curry, which we expected.
- 48:41ESPN reports that Curry is not likely to return for from his
- 48:45injury until game number six. And it doesn't matter if he
- 48:48comes back from hamstring injury, he's never going to be
- 48:51100%. This is a guy that depends on
- 48:54lateral rotation and, and the way he likes to move, you know,
- 48:58and dribble the ball and control the game.
- 49:00He likes to go inside and out. If he can't do that, he's going
- 49:04to be a stand up shooting spot up shooter and that as good as
- 49:08Steph Curry is and he's going to he's still, you know, you need
- 49:11double T. You need to double team him
- 49:13anywhere around the perimeter. He's not the same player and
- 49:16you're going to depend a lot on Jimmy Buckets and the way
- 49:19Anthony Edwards is playing ever since his coaches called him
- 49:21out, he's a completely different superstar and you can see what
- 49:25he can do when he figures things out.
- 49:28I I don't think there's anybody better than Anthony Edwards when
- 49:31he is hot and he can't be stopped as good as Jayson tandem
- 49:35has been throughout the playoffs or even Jalen Brunson or any one
- 49:39of these superstars or Alexander, any one of these
- 49:43guys, Jokic, any one of these guys.
- 49:46If Anthony Edwards is playing at the top of his game, he is by
- 49:49far the best player throughout the playoffs.
- 49:51And and you're senior right now and the Timberwolves, they're a
- 49:54good team. I think they have more depth
- 49:56than they did last year without Karl, Karl Anthony Towns, Julius
- 49:59Randall is actually giving him a lot off the bench when he is
- 50:02coming off the bench and even as a starter, he's giving you what
- 50:05you expected. Julia Julius Randall to give you
- 50:08for the New York Knicks and Dante Divacento and some of the
- 50:11guys that are coming off the bench right now, they're just a
- 50:13different team. The Timberwolves believe that
- 50:14they are They believe they're the best team right now in the
- 50:18playoffs for the Western Conference.
- 50:19But again, you, you look at the OKC Thunder series and, and
- 50:24obviously the Nuggets, you have the two best players in the
- 50:26world right now, the 2 MVP candidates.
- 50:29You have Jokic versus Mr. Alexander and Alexander's
- 50:32putting up the numbers you expect.
- 50:34And so is Jokic. The question is, are the other
- 50:37guys, is Russell Westbrook going to show up when they need him,
- 50:40which he's done in, in, in the series, series 1, But it really
- 50:44hasn't showed up in this series. Maybe because OK C is younger
- 50:47and be able to keep up with a, you know, a speedy old Russell
- 50:50Westbrook. But they've got, you know,
- 50:52timely shooting by Aaron Gordon. And Aaron Gordon is a really
- 50:56good player. He's a dynamic player.
- 50:58We've seen him remember when he was on Orlando, remember when he
- 51:01had won those slam dunk contest. This guy is acrobatic.
- 51:04He could shoot. He can do a lot of things.
- 51:06And I think the Nuggets have enough depth right now to
- 51:09compete with the the shy Alexander, the shy Alexander
- 51:13Thunder. The question is, are they going
- 51:16to be able to beat Shy When, when the time when the time is
- 51:20right, when when the series is closing, they go to a Game 7 and
- 51:24they have to win that game in OK C to move on to the Western
- 51:27Conference finals against Shy, Alexander or Williams or one of
- 51:30these guys that are going to have to, you know, be dominated
- 51:33in in the fourth quarter? I don't know.
- 51:35And again, the Nuggets have to depend on their superstars just
- 51:38as much as any one of these teams still in the playoffs.
- 51:41Jayla Brunson needs to show up. Jason Tatum needs to show up.
- 51:45Anthony Edwards needs to show up, Shy Alexander needs to show
- 51:48up, and Djokic needs to show up. And yes, if you want me to go to
- 51:51the Cavaliers, so does Donovan Mitchell and so does Tyrese
- 51:55Halliburton, which he has in his series.
- 51:58Every one of these players, even Jimmy Buckets, when Steph Curry
- 52:02is not 100% healthy, he shows up and he plays hard.
- 52:06And that's why you made that trade.
- 52:08That's why you paid Jimmy Buckets.
- 52:10So I expect these series to go to the to the end, except the
- 52:15Cavaliers series, which I think is a complete blowout.
- 52:17I, I think it's going to go seven games with the Thunder.
- 52:21I think it's going to go seven games with Anthony Edwards and
- 52:24the Golden State Warriors, maybe 6.
- 52:26And the Knicks, I've already said it, seven games.
- 52:29The only way the Knicks win is if they take this seven games
- 52:33and and they dagger them in Boston in front of their fans in
- 52:36the fourth quarter, which they've been doing or have done
- 52:39in in in the first game, in the second game.
- 52:42And you also look at the way that these teams have been
- 52:43building. I think you need a core that's
- 52:46going to do well if your stars do struggle.
- 52:47And we were talking about with Anthony Edwards last week, the
- 52:49Timberwolves core did not help him enough when he was
- 52:52struggling in that first half. Then he elevates in the
- 52:54second-half. They almost come back.
- 52:55And now you look at these last two games, I think the Edwards
- 52:57is going off and Julius Randall is actually being selfless.
- 53:00He had 12 assists. When did you last time you ever
- 53:02forever Julius Randall getting 12 assists in a game.
- 53:04Like, that's crazy to think they had.
- 53:06Their size was there and their bench depth was there.
- 53:08You're right. Errol, Dante, Di Vincenzo has
- 53:10elevated that bench from a scoring perspective.
- 53:12Yeah, Jada McDaniels, but doing well from a defensive
- 53:14perspective. They have a good mixture of
- 53:15everything and to go to, to counter with the Denver side of
- 53:17it, the Denver Nuggets, it was a tale of two games for their
- 53:20bench fish. I was a game off with a Brown
- 53:22and a Porter combo. They did great in game three
- 53:24after the fact and then they struggled in game four.
- 53:26They couldn't score at all in Game 4.
- 53:28When Yokich had his worst game in game three, the rest of the
- 53:30team picked him up and same kind of thing with OKC.
- 53:32They had the rest of the guys pick it up later in the game, in
- 53:35game 4:00 to be able to win that kind of thing.
- 53:37And I just don't know if the Warriors have that kind of combo
- 53:39right now. As good as Jimmy Butler played
- 53:41if Steph Curry's hurt. Speedy Why are these eight teams
- 53:43still in the playoffs? They built on depth and
- 53:45versatility. Why are they in the playoffs?
- 53:48Why did they make the playoffs? Why are why are they in the
- 53:50semifinals and on their way to the finals?
- 53:54Any one of these teams, Why are they there?
- 53:56They have one star with good depth and versatility.
- 53:58Around and what and all the teams that are leading in this
- 54:01series, who has shown up in those games?
- 54:04Those stars? Their stars and the one guy that
- 54:07hasn't shown up in their in their series, their star Mitch
- 54:11Donovan Mitchell. That's why the Cavaliers are not
- 54:15in the lead and why Tyrese Halliburton and the Pacers are
- 54:18going to win that series because Halliburton showed up and
- 54:21Donovan Mitchell is lost. He's not healthy, but he's lost.
- 54:24And we've seen this. We see Donovan Mitchell when he
- 54:27would play for the Utah Jazz. Do we remember that if they were
- 54:30in series that he showed up and then in the semi finals with
- 54:33Utah, there were series that he didn't show up.
- 54:35I remember against the Rockets, remember that didn't show up
- 54:38against the Rockets with Chris Paul and James Harden.
- 54:40I remember that and, and, and what did they do?
- 54:43They lost. That's what happens when your
- 54:46star doesn't wake up in a series where you're expected to show up
- 54:50for your team and play your game.
- 54:52He hasn't, and that's why they're down.
- 54:54Yeah, and it's weird because he's playoff points for gamers
- 54:56actually very high, but you're right, he fizzles out kind of
- 54:57later in the playoffs. He starts to play hero ball too
- 55:00much. I I had that problem with Shy
- 55:02originally when he was first in the NBA, but I don't think he's
- 55:04really started to do that as much either.
- 55:07Anthony Edwards has done that too, but he's been good in the
- 55:09clutch as well and he elevates other people well.
- 55:12No, I think, I think there's 22 parts of that.
- 55:14And Errol, I agree with you. Like your star has to step up
- 55:18like they they have to do it. But also the other part is too,
- 55:21if I am struggling a little bit, not doing my normal is, is like
- 55:25Speedy just said, they facilitate and help from, from
- 55:28different avenues of the game. And I think they do a good job
- 55:31and other guys are stepping up. But I, I think there's two parts
- 55:35of that where they, you know, they'd not only have to go out
- 55:38and be that guy, but they have to make sure they facilitate
- 55:41from the other end and make everybody better.
- 55:43If they are having a night off where, you know, you can go
- 55:46drop, you know, 10 Dimes. And even when Jokic had, you
- 55:49know, his least scoring game, it was still, I think it was, was
- 55:52it a triple double, I think. Yep, it always is a triple
- 55:55double when it comes. To.
- 55:58But I just think there's two parts of that where they need to
- 56:00make sure. Like obviously some days you
- 56:03just don't have it. But just because you don't have
- 56:06it offensively doesn't mean you know you let up on the defensive
- 56:09side as we've seen with with with some guys in the playoffs
- 56:12and and help facilitate other guys be better to pick up some
- 56:15slack where where maybe you're not on that night.
- 56:18Just just real quick, super happy for Julius Randle.
- 56:21Julius Randle spent those years help resuscitating the Knicks
- 56:25franchise from the Dolphins. Just call him Bricklin.
- 56:28That's what we called him here in New York.
- 56:29He. Was Bricklin, he was so bad, But
- 56:31you know, despite his shortcomings, this is what he
- 56:34can do if you put him in a perfect situation, if you have a
- 56:38center that can rim protect for him because not great at that.
- 56:40The play making guard like Anthony Edwards and he can just
- 56:44kind of be that third guy that's in the offense and that can
- 56:47facilitate and just get all the like extra passes.
- 56:51I mean he put up a triple double and they dominated that game.
- 56:54We've seen him do versions of that.
- 56:56We just haven't seen him do a consistent consistently.
- 56:59And I think for them to win it all this year, he has to play
- 57:02like this. I don't know if Julius Randall
- 57:05can for that long, but if he plays like this, this team can
- 57:10go. They really can with Anthony
- 57:12Edwards and Gobert protecting and playing well.
- 57:15It's it's an interesting dynamic.
- 57:16It's amazing that that we were talking about this after how it
- 57:20started with them this series with Anthony Edwards going like
- 57:23over 10 in the first half with one point and getting called out
- 57:26by his coach, pretty wild. And then finally, look, Jimmy
- 57:31buckets. I think he'll I think playoff
- 57:33Jimmy will take one game. I still believe in playoff
- 57:35Jimmy. And if they can get it to six
- 57:38and Steph comes back, who knows? But I would say.
- 57:42Here we go. You.
- 57:45Got to take Minnesota. And by the way, Julius Randall
- 57:47had more bricks and built more brick patios than anybody has
- 57:52done in Madison Square Garden in history.
- 57:54So if you want to if, if you want something built in your
- 57:57all. Season as an argument for you.
- 57:59Let's not get into Charles Smith.
- 58:01Let's forget about Charles Smith.
- 58:02Let him go to North Korea with Dennis Rodman and hang out with
- 58:05whatever his name is. OK?
- 58:07I I don't want to hear about Charles Smith.
- 58:10All I care about is, is, is what the Knicks were, you know, 2-3
- 58:15years ago. And Julius Randall was the
- 58:17biggest bricklayer I've ever seen in my entire life.
- 58:20And Derrick Rose would agree with me too, because he was a
- 58:23part of those teams too. But he didn't have to experience
- 58:26it playing in the games. He experienced it on the bench
- 58:30we were thinking at the time. That dynamic duo of Derrick Rose
- 58:32and Kebble Walker. Another brick layer for the New
- 58:35York Dicks. Oh my God, none of those guys
- 58:38ever worked here in New York as good as yes and I and I love
- 58:42Rose. I loved him and I and I actually
- 58:45liked Randall for a couple of years because he was a great get
- 58:49for Donnie Walsh. He really was.
- 58:50He was a great get for Donnie. He brings him in.
- 58:53He he makes the trade or he signs him.
- 58:56No, he signed him in the offseason to that one year deal.
- 58:58He had that unbelievable season, then COVID came around, they
- 59:01extended him and then it was just he fell flat on his face.
- 59:06Then he started to become the layer of bricks as we all
- 59:09remember him And, and eventually it'll peer over there with the
- 59:11timberwalls. It's just hiding right now.
- 59:13Maybe they need some cement. Maybe I should send them some
- 59:16cement over here at Madison Square Garden.
- 59:18And then he'll start to lay the brick.
- 59:21We call this the golf clap of the day.
- 59:25This deserves a golf clap, no doubt.
- 59:27Golf clap, golf clap. And the golf clap of the day
- 59:32goes to the LBA or the whatever you want to call him, the LeBron
- 59:37James Association, as we got it to experience before this game,
- 59:42this, this debacle of a basketball game, which is I
- 59:46don't even know what the score is because we're 40 seconds
- 59:48slower than everybody else. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it
- 59:51goes to the NBA draft as we experience something.
- 59:56What I expected, ladies and gentlemen, as the Spurs fell
- 1:00:00short just one pick short of getting Cooper flag as the NBA
- 1:00:06has become the absolute joke of the lottery as the Spurs get the
- 1:00:12number two pick. And yes, Nico Harrison looks
- 1:00:15like he's an absolute God. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm about
- 1:00:18to lose my voice. I'm about to go crazy.
- 1:00:21I'm going to have a heart attack.
- 1:00:23I can't believe the Dallas freaking Maverick.
- 1:00:27Win Cooper flag and everything goes away.
- 1:00:30All the dusts go away. All the stupidity of trading
- 1:00:35Luka Doncic to the Lakers. Well, they got Cooper flag, so
- 1:00:39they got to. Could you imagine Cooper flag,
- 1:00:41Luka Doncic and Kyrie if that would have never happened?
- 1:00:44But I mean, because they wouldn't have.
- 1:00:46The second-half of the season wouldn't have been so putrid
- 1:00:49like it was. But nevertheless, they win
- 1:00:51Cooper flag. What a debacle.
- 1:00:54The LJ, The L, I want to call him the LJA because it is LeBron
- 1:00:59James, but I'm going to say the whatever it's it's, it's the NBA
- 1:01:04LJA, whatever the hell you call it, it's a debacle.
- 1:01:06It makes no sense. How does the Spurs, well, what
- 1:01:09they had the 10th or the 11th worst record going into this
- 1:01:13lottery draft. I don't know what it is, Give
- 1:01:15you the number guys, it was bad. How do they go from where they
- 1:01:19were supposed to be all the way to 2?
- 1:01:21And then The Mavericks, who weren't the worst team.
- 1:01:24I feel bad for the other teams. I feel bad for the Hornets.
- 1:01:27At least the 76ers got something out of it.
- 1:01:30They get the 3rd pick. I don't know who that's going to
- 1:01:32be. It's some European players,
- 1:01:33somebody, maybe one of those record players.
- 1:01:35But is anybody that goes there is practically going to be
- 1:01:39buried in the ground by the Philadelphia fan.
- 1:01:41So we all know that. Nevertheless, this draft is
- 1:01:44going to be very interesting because we all know where Cooper
- 1:01:47flags going to go. But how about the Spurs getting
- 1:01:50what we expected them to get, one of the top three picks of
- 1:01:53this draft. So congratulations to the the
- 1:01:56LeBron James Association for allowing this to happen as
- 1:02:00Dallas gets 1YO owning the the Spurs in the former, you know,
- 1:02:06great Popovich Spurs get #2 and at #3 the Philadelphia 70 liars
- 1:02:13are getting the number 3 picks. So congratulations.
- 1:02:15They had they had a 1.8% chance. 1.81.8 guys, you hear that?
- 1:02:22You hear that, Mackenzie? You hear that?
- 1:02:25What are the chances of that happening?
- 1:02:27I'll tell you how it happened. The LJA, LeBron James
- 1:02:31Association wanted to kiss Nico Harrison's ass or I'm sorry,
- 1:02:36Ronaldo, black man's ass as he was sitting in for the Dallas
- 1:02:39Mavericks and whoever was sitting there for the 76ers.

- 1:03:51them? No.

- 1:03:54of a. Deal.
- 1:03:55I know I'm asking you, would you eat a sausage?
