  Today's a special episode because, yes, today is my birthday.

  I turned 48 years old today.

  And you know, birthdays make you pause for a moment.

  They make you look back at where you've been and look around at what God has placed in your life.

  When I was younger, birthdays were about gifts, cake, and maybe a party.

  All right, maybe a party or two. But the older I get, the more I realize the

  greatest gifts were never things.

  The greatest gift I've ever received is my family. My wife, Rachel,

  my two children, Ariel and Noah, and my little dog, well, not so little, Cody B.

  And the moments around the dinner table, the laughter, even the challenges that

  make us grow together. There are things that matter.

  And the second gift, honestly, is the one that holds everything together.

  That's my faith, believing in God.

  Because when you believe in God, you realize something powerful.

  Every year you wake up, every breath you take, every new birthday is another

  opportunity. another opportunity to love better another opportunity to forgive

  another opportunity to grow.

  Not everyone gets the blessing of another year. And when you think about it

  in that form, a birthday isn't just about getting older. It's about getting another chance.
