- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh my god, I've never missed three people more in
- 0:02Speaker 1: my life. In fact, I never missed how many hundreds
- 0:05Speaker 1: of thousands are listening so much. I really missed you all.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We don't call you, don't right, We don't want to
- 0:11Speaker 1: save it for the podcast. I can't be calling you
- 0:13Speaker 1: and wasting gems. By the way, I want to start
- 0:17Speaker 1: off right off the bat by saying, Joelle, I think
- 0:21Speaker 1: you need to be a fucking podcast star because I
- 0:24Speaker 1: listened to your intro to the thing you cut together
- 0:27Speaker 1: for the fans because we couldn't be on, and you
- 0:30Speaker 1: are just so charming. And I mean I know this
- 0:32Speaker 1: from being on the show with you, but I'm saying
- 0:33Speaker 1: when you were alone, you were so charming and charismatic
- 0:36Speaker 1: and your voice was so soothing and Will Pearson our overlord,
- 0:40Speaker 1: and eeheart, I know you're listening. You gotta fucking give
- 0:42Speaker 1: Joelle our own show, even if it's with Donald or not.
- 0:45Speaker 1: But I mean, you're you're a great on air talent. Joel.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Thank you, sir. I appreciate it. It It was my pleasure.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I like getting to talk to the fans exactly. It
- 0:53Speaker 1: was fun. Right, Donald, do you want to chime in?
- 0:57Speaker 1: I didn't listen to the show. This motherfucker. It's the
- 1:04Speaker 1: most classic Donald sentence I've ever heard of my life.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Oh no, I'm glad you kept it real because you
- 1:12Speaker 1: might have fucking lied. I'm gonna be honest with you, guys.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I never listened to the show other than when we
- 1:17Speaker 1: do our I don't either. I don't. I don't. I
- 1:19Speaker 1: don't after we've done listening to it back before we
- 1:21Speaker 1: put it out. I don't listen to it when it
- 1:23Speaker 1: goes live. But you might have listened. You can literally
- 1:25Speaker 1: take four minutes and listen to Joel's intro, which is beautiful.
- 1:29Speaker 1: None of y'all motherfucker's got kids, yo, that'sh it's hard
- 1:32Speaker 1: to do. Oh god, you know what. Kids is the
- 1:35Speaker 1: ultimate excuse. It's so bullshit when you have kids, and
- 1:38Speaker 1: I know, and I know it's hard, but you always
- 1:40Speaker 1: use kids. You always use kids. It's the go to.
- 1:43Speaker 1: But it's put in front of fucking bubble guppies and
- 1:46Speaker 1: listen to Joel and then my and then my kid's
- 1:48Speaker 1: brains are fucking bubble guppied out. No, they can fucking
- 1:52Speaker 1: bubble guppy for five minutes while you fucking respect Joel queen, queen,
- 1:57Speaker 1: the fucking queen. Sorry, I'm the one who made you
- 2:01Speaker 1: on latch. I'm the one who made you on latch
- 2:03Speaker 1: this time. I'm sorry, leg parents. I just wanted to.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I just want to. I just wanted to be out
- 2:09Speaker 1: there with y'all. That was Zach Braft who made you
- 2:12Speaker 1: on latch today. I'm sorry. Now, I'll soothe it, get
- 2:16Speaker 1: it back, get him, get him back on there. It
- 2:18Speaker 1: is there. Oh my god, it's the nastiest way to
- 2:21Speaker 1: get a kid. Why because okay, there it is there.
- 2:27Speaker 1: It is the milk flow, yes, yes, let it in
- 2:35Speaker 1: its Oh man, I missed you, guys. I missed everyone.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I missed all your listeners. I missed everybody. So much
- 2:43Speaker 1: has happened, so much has happened. I don't even order
- 2:45Speaker 1: to begin the I see you. Beds are filling up,
- 2:48Speaker 1: if that's the clearest way for me to tell it
- 2:50Speaker 1: to you. If you live in certain counties in this country,
- 2:53Speaker 1: there are just no ICU beds left, so if you
- 2:56Speaker 1: have a stroke, there's nowhere for them to put you.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I read an article where someplace in leave it as
- 3:03Speaker 1: Arizona could be wrong about that. They're just they're starting
- 3:06Speaker 1: to treat people in the fucking waiting room. Yeah, there's
- 3:09Speaker 1: just no you know, there's no more. This is what
- 3:12Speaker 1: happens when the message that's sent out is a you know,
- 3:17Speaker 1: convoluted message, right, is that the right word? Where it's
- 3:20Speaker 1: kind of all over the place, and you know, wear
- 3:22Speaker 1: a mask, don't wear a mask. It doesn't matter if
- 3:25Speaker 1: you wear a mask. This is what happens. This is
- 3:27Speaker 1: what happens when you have poor leadership, and I know, people,
- 3:29Speaker 1: it's also what happens. This is the first we've reached
- 3:31Speaker 1: an era. As we all know, I'm not stealing anything groundbreaking,
- 3:37Speaker 1: but where where we have two different sets of facts.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I mean, there is obviously a set effects, but people
- 3:42Speaker 1: are are are digesting a completely different facts set and
- 3:47Speaker 1: you can't really it's pretty I mean, Dan Joy, Yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 1: there's facts, there's you can't really maintain a democracy like
- 3:53Speaker 1: that if you don't agree on facts. Well, there's facts
- 3:55Speaker 1: and then there's made up facts. There's facts and then
- 3:57Speaker 1: there's made up facts. And the made up facts are
- 4:00Speaker 1: now being considered just as factual as reg as real facts.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And that's new, and that's new, and I'm sure that
- 4:06Speaker 1: mister Trump will go and start a network Trump network,
- 4:10Speaker 1: as everyone seems to think he will, and I don't.
- 4:12Speaker 1: None of this is going away. I mean, he's just
- 4:14Speaker 1: gonna He's gonna he's getting people that voted for him.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Now he's gonna be Rupert Murdoch. He's going to be
- 4:18Speaker 1: his own Roupert Mark. So anyway, good for listen, listen.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's all about making money for the guy anyway, and
- 4:24Speaker 1: for all of his followers and all of his constituents
- 4:29Speaker 1: and all of these people who are falling in line.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You know, hey, I get it. You have a leader
- 4:33Speaker 1: that you want to follow, and you feel like he's
- 4:35Speaker 1: going to take you to the promised Land. But I'm
- 4:38Speaker 1: gonna tell you something right now, at the end of
- 4:40Speaker 1: the day, who do you think he cares about more
- 4:45Speaker 1: you or himself. Let's just be honest. He's playing golf
- 4:49Speaker 1: every day. I mean, I mean, I know people are dying.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I put this on Twitter. I was like saying, like, thinking,
- 4:56Speaker 1: everyone in your life, even the most selfish person you know,
- 4:58Speaker 1: even the most narcissistic, fucked up person you know, can
- 5:01Speaker 1: you think in anyone you know or even tangentially know
- 5:04Speaker 1: that if they were president and two thousand people were
- 5:07Speaker 1: dying a day of a pandemic, would go play golf. No,
- 5:13Speaker 1: it's still hard to believe, like we saw it happened,
- 5:15Speaker 1: and it's still impossible to believe that someone could have
- 5:19Speaker 1: still a little care for so many lives being lost,
- 5:22Speaker 1: and like you can easily, it's still baffling to me.
- 5:24Speaker 1: There's so many testimony. You guys have very eloquently stated
- 5:28Speaker 1: the testimonials about what it was like watching somebody go
- 5:30Speaker 1: through this. I read about a woman in Georgia whose
- 5:33Speaker 1: father and aunt died of COVID days apart, and like
- 5:37Speaker 1: what her struggle was, or just like how do we
- 5:39Speaker 1: honor their wishes? And but also we keep this personal.
- 5:43Speaker 1: It's just awful, like it's the evidence is everywhere, And
- 5:46Speaker 1: then to hear the doctors specifically coming back to discuss
- 5:50Speaker 1: like it's awful to see patients who were like I
- 5:52Speaker 1: didn't think it was real, gasping for their last breath,
- 5:55Speaker 1: like not, no, not even I didn't think it was real,
- 5:57Speaker 1: for the gasping for their last breaths, and still not believing,
- 6:02Speaker 1: still calling it, still insisting it's a hoax. This is
- 6:07Speaker 1: this is bad, bad messaging, this is bad leadership, And
- 6:13Speaker 1: at the end of his run. It just seems like
- 6:15Speaker 1: he's like, because I lost fuck it all, you know
- 6:19Speaker 1: what I mean. Uh, and that's unfortunate, you know what
- 6:23Speaker 1: I mean. It seemed to be like, I mean, the
- 6:25Speaker 1: attitude of playing golf seems to me like I'm out
- 6:27Speaker 1: of ideas. Will wait for the vaccine. The problem is
- 6:30Speaker 1: is that that vaccine making a difference and being so
- 6:34Speaker 1: everywhere for everyone isn't going to be until the end
- 6:37Speaker 1: of next year. Yeah, but that doesn't that doesn't mean
- 6:40Speaker 1: people can't get it. There'll be a lot of people
- 6:42Speaker 1: who can get it. This will be distributed really fast.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Sah Welllon Joel, correct me if I'm wrong. But what
- 6:48Speaker 1: I've read is, of course frontline workers and seniors and
- 6:51Speaker 1: people more susceptible first, But the average Joe who's not
- 6:57Speaker 1: in that in those categories, what are they talking Summer
- 7:00Speaker 1: danial something like that. Yeah, there's there's tears that you
- 7:03Speaker 1: can check out of when I was to be getting
- 7:06Speaker 1: their releases and stuff. But I agree, But but a
- 7:08Speaker 1: healthy male in his forties is probably summer. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 1: probably a few months away most definitely. I less you
- 7:15Speaker 1: got that money. Unless you got that money, I was
- 7:17Speaker 1: gonna say, I mean, unfortunately, money always talks. But also
- 7:20Speaker 1: I think the bigger problem is going to be getting
- 7:22Speaker 1: people to take it at all. Is going to be
- 7:24Speaker 1: the people. You know, there are people who don't believe
- 7:26Speaker 1: it's real and will therefore not take the vaccine. Don't
- 7:30Speaker 1: necessarily approve everything, Like some of the ship that should
- 7:33Speaker 1: be approved, the FDA doesn't necessarily approve. Not that means
- 7:37Speaker 1: it shouldn't have been approved, right, but well, I mean,
- 7:40Speaker 1: I think marijuana should be approved by the FDA so
- 7:42Speaker 1: that we are wait for what though for what for nausea,
- 7:47Speaker 1: for insomnia, for pain relief, If we're going there, I
- 7:52Speaker 1: think that's the mental health because the thing is, if
- 7:55Speaker 1: we're just talking about smoking weed, and to borrow a
- 7:58Speaker 1: line from a favorite documentaries, the crude combustion of a
- 8:01Speaker 1: plant substance inhaled into our lungs, Like, if that's what
- 8:05Speaker 1: we're talking about, then no where are they going to
- 8:07Speaker 1: approve that, because that's bad for you on the surface,
- 8:09Speaker 1: inhaling smoke. But so but so are all of these
- 8:13Speaker 1: other things. But by the way, I'm sorry to break
- 8:14Speaker 1: it to you and the people I know who smoke
- 8:16Speaker 1: a whole lot more weed than I do. The FDA.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You're not gonna like what the FDA SAIDs. They're probably
- 8:21Speaker 1: gonna come out and say, by the way, it does
- 8:23Speaker 1: affect memory laws, by the way, and it doesn't suck
- 8:25Speaker 1: up your lungs and it and it can't cause cancer,
- 8:27Speaker 1: no doubt. But hold on, But so do all of
- 8:31Speaker 1: these other pills. So does oxycotton. All of these things
- 8:34Speaker 1: are freaking major fucking drug problems in America right now.
- 8:38Speaker 1: We can't sit here and tell me that because I
- 8:40Speaker 1: smoke weed and I go, I'm gonna I might Oh
- 8:42Speaker 1: my god, there's a possibility that I and it's it's
- 8:45Speaker 1: a real possibility. There's a possibility I could get cancer.
- 8:47Speaker 1: There's a possibility that I could lose my memory. But
- 8:50Speaker 1: there's a possibility when you take all of these other
- 8:51Speaker 1: drugs that you can do so many other things as well.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I don't understand how that's okay. These I just think
- 8:59Speaker 1: that these are kind of we're moving into slightly different
- 9:01Speaker 1: conversations here. We're talking about addiction and the opioid crisis
- 9:04Speaker 1: in America and I think and across the world for
- 9:06Speaker 1: that matter. Like, I think that's a slightly different conversation
- 9:09Speaker 1: than the effectiveness and the efficacy of like the FDA
- 9:13Speaker 1: and vaccines and stuff like that. Like you know, you
- 9:16Speaker 1: know why Donald changed the subject because he smokes too
- 9:19Speaker 1: much pot. Hey talking to quite a huge pot smoker
- 9:23Speaker 1: over here. And I would love nothing more than for
- 9:25Speaker 1: cannabis to be legalized recreationally across the country on a
- 9:28Speaker 1: federal level, to get to expunge all of the records
- 9:31Speaker 1: of these petty criminal drug charges that have kept people
- 9:33Speaker 1: in jail for years and years and years. But it
- 9:36Speaker 1: would take No, it wouldn't because it wouldn't know it's
- 9:41Speaker 1: just on recreations, just recreational cannabis, and then it's just expunge. Okay, yes, exactly,
- 9:48Speaker 1: a federal law needs to pass, and that's something on
- 9:49Speaker 1: Joe Biden's thing. But like if we're just talking about
- 9:51Speaker 1: like dangerous or something like that, like alcohol kills more people,
- 9:56Speaker 1: the marijuana hasn't killed anybody like that, you can't you
- 10:05Speaker 1: can't say you gotta be no doubt, you gotta be
- 10:09Speaker 1: clear about it when you say that shit. So okay,
- 10:11Speaker 1: So marijuana spokes of THHC has never killed it, But
- 10:15Speaker 1: that doesn't mean somebody smoking marijuana didn't have their senses
- 10:18Speaker 1: about them and stepped outside and got home. That's different.
- 10:21Speaker 1: They got hit by a car. The car killed them. Well, well,
- 10:23Speaker 1: well they're not being able to process what's going on.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Also to put stepped into Okay, well then then anger
- 10:32Speaker 1: is a drug, just like marijuana, because people who are angry, Sugar,
- 10:38Speaker 1: I mean like this is a slippery slope. I'm just
- 10:40Speaker 1: gonna sus. Marijuana has not killed a single person. All right,
- 10:43Speaker 1: everybody comes. Ever, we're so passionate because we haven't seen
- 10:46Speaker 1: each other that we have so much to say. I know,
- 10:48Speaker 1: it's great, and I want to let the audience in
- 10:50Speaker 1: a little surprise that in fifteen minutes the Bill Lawrence
- 10:55Speaker 1: he's gonna join us for the rest of the episode.
- 10:57Speaker 1: He had to come and join late, but he was
- 10:59Speaker 1: he missed us as well and wanted to join. And
- 11:01Speaker 1: I said, yes, yes, Bill excited. Donald, I'm very excited.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Did you watch Ted last night? I told you watched
- 11:09Speaker 1: Ted last song? Dude, you turn me to watch Ted
- 11:11Speaker 1: Lasso at like ten pm last night? I told you
- 11:13Speaker 1: should start it out of respect for our friends. How
- 11:15Speaker 1: to fuck? Am? I listen? Man? Okay, big Donald, I'm
- 11:17Speaker 1: sorry you haven't seen Ted Lasso. No, no, I've watched
- 11:21Speaker 1: it three times. It's so good, very little television. I'm
- 11:26Speaker 1: gonna watch the season finale. I promise you, I'm gonna say,
- 11:29Speaker 1: oh God, oh my god, he's gonna do the fucking asshole.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna watcher. I'm gonna talk about serious final I'm really,
- 11:39Speaker 1: I'm furious, Like I gotta tell you, I'm gonna talk
- 11:41Speaker 1: about this when Bill comes on. So I'll wait, but
- 11:43Speaker 1: I just gonna say real quickly, and I'll and we'll
- 11:45Speaker 1: go back to other ship. But because I want to
- 11:48Speaker 1: save it for Bill. But I cried my eyes out
- 11:51Speaker 1: at that finale. It's so heart warm me. It's so
- 11:54Speaker 1: good you guys. Episode two. I agree everyone. I agree
- 11:57Speaker 1: Episode two is the best because I directed it. But
- 12:00Speaker 1: other ones are good too. But the last thing I
- 12:02Speaker 1: want to say about, oh I broke my toe, I
- 12:04Speaker 1: should probably announce my motorcycle. I had a bit of
- 12:08Speaker 1: a had a motorcycle accident. Motorcycle accident, well, I wasn't
- 12:14Speaker 1: going fast at all. But a woman in a family,
- 12:19Speaker 1: or at least a husband and wife and a child,
- 12:21Speaker 1: well I'm not gonna blame them. A driver took a
- 12:25Speaker 1: giant corner in the Hollywood Hills. She took it with
- 12:28Speaker 1: just basically in what would be my lane. If I
- 12:32Speaker 1: was a car, it would have been a head on collision.
- 12:34Speaker 1: She just was coming around a blind corner on what
- 12:38Speaker 1: was her what was her left side and my right side.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Fortunately I wasn't in a car because it would have
- 12:45Speaker 1: been a head on. I was in a motorcycle, so
- 12:46Speaker 1: I could skid off to the right. I was, we
- 12:50Speaker 1: weren't going fast, I was only five miles an hour,
- 12:52Speaker 1: but I but in skidding off to the right, lost
- 12:54Speaker 1: my balance, jumped, had to jump off to the right,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and the entire bike fell on my right foot. I
- 13:02Speaker 1: and this woman's like, sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't cry,
- 13:06Speaker 1: but fuck it hurt and it really got huge. And
- 13:09Speaker 1: then I went to the orthopedes who said, the the
- 13:13Speaker 1: middle bone of my big toe is. He said, I'm
- 13:16Speaker 1: not going to even tell you the medical word for it,
- 13:19Speaker 1: but it means smashed. So I got it. There's not
- 13:24Speaker 1: much you can do for a broken toe except where
- 13:26Speaker 1: this thing. I have this thing. It looks like, yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I put on my Instagram. I was like, these new
- 13:34Speaker 1: yeasis are fire, but that sucks. I have to ice
- 13:40Speaker 1: it and and do that ship. But by the way,
- 13:43Speaker 1: I want to just say. The last thing about the
- 13:44Speaker 1: drug conversation is they tried to give me not oxy
- 13:47Speaker 1: but something like it. And I was like, I was like, no,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I'll take talent on and he's like, oh, I'll write
- 13:53Speaker 1: you the script, and you know, I was like, no,
- 13:54Speaker 1: I don't want it. I don't even want it my house.
- 13:57Speaker 1: And I'm telling you people who are listening, I'm advised
- 14:00Speaker 1: he was a fake doctor. Unless you are in fucking real,
- 14:03Speaker 1: holy shit pain, do not take these drugs they are
- 14:06Speaker 1: giving to you. They are fucking addictive and once you're on,
- 14:10Speaker 1: you're stuck. You're done. So a fucking advil and ice
- 14:15Speaker 1: and actually adult is wrong for this, he said. He
- 14:17Speaker 1: said extra strength talent all and will help it better.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And we if you're a pot smoker, but do not
- 14:23Speaker 1: unless you are in oh my god, I cannot survive pain.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Do not fucking take these drugs. They are addictive and
- 14:30Speaker 1: they will fuck you up. Read a book called Dope Sick.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Michael Kidd is making a movie What does adderall do?
- 14:36Speaker 1: Adderalls for attention deficit disorders. That's when you why is
- 14:39Speaker 1: everybody taking ad Because if you don't have add. It
- 14:43Speaker 1: does the opposite, and it's like speed. So if you
- 14:45Speaker 1: have ADD, it helps you focus. If you don't have ADD,
- 14:49Speaker 1: it's like cocaine, it makes you fucking like a right,
- 14:53Speaker 1: let me get this straight. So all of these people
- 14:55Speaker 1: that are doing adderall are pretty much doing cocaine. Yeah, speed, right, guys. Yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 1: essentially it listen if you helps it concentrate. Yeah, people
- 15:07Speaker 1: look at it was like yeah, well yeah, well it's
- 15:12Speaker 1: all right. I had a couple of late nights in college.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm not gonna things happen people, I mean college. What
- 15:18Speaker 1: was that ship that Mike Jackson was on proper fall? No,
- 15:21Speaker 1: that's that's very different and also awful. That was it
- 15:25Speaker 1: that's used the dude, they used that surgery to put
- 15:28Speaker 1: you under, that's what. But he was getting injected to
- 15:30Speaker 1: go to sleep at night. No, he was that what
- 15:32Speaker 1: it was. Jeez, yeah, that's some of these things like
- 15:37Speaker 1: I want that regeneration. I'm not gonna lie to you man,
- 15:39Speaker 1: like you don't need the getener it means you're as fuck.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Wait a question for you, guys. But they if you
- 15:47Speaker 1: take the regenera on, it helps against the COVID two
- 15:49Speaker 1: though doesn't like before you get COVID two though, doesn't
- 15:52Speaker 1: it because you're just pumping anybodies into your body? No,
- 15:55Speaker 1: I don't know who's that on News Max. I don't know.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I don't know. I think I saw somebody talk about it. Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 1: that's really helped for these days. All right, listen, I
- 16:01Speaker 1: have a question for you guys, totally off topic. Let's
- 16:04Speaker 1: say I'm buying my girlfriend a Christmas present on Craigslist
- 16:09Speaker 1: from San Francisco and it's pricey, but it's awesome. I
- 16:16Speaker 1: wouldn't do it, No, listen, how do I do it
- 16:21Speaker 1: such that I don't get ripped off? What's what's the
- 16:25Speaker 1: what's the equivalent of like escrow in this situation. I
- 16:28Speaker 1: saw that Team Mom where she tried to buy that
- 16:30Speaker 1: car on on Craigslist and she lost the money. Man,
- 16:34Speaker 1: I would I'm just saying, Man, I don't know about craigslist,
- 16:37Speaker 1: Daniel Joel, Do you have any they have a rating?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Can you see like how they've sold before and they've
- 16:43Speaker 1: completed the transactions and such? List I really leave a
- 16:48Speaker 1: lot up to the description, like however much work someone's
- 16:51Speaker 1: willing to put into them trying to sell you something?
- 16:53Speaker 1: What if I give them what if I negotiate with
- 16:55Speaker 1: the fellas such that I go, you're gonna get X
- 16:58Speaker 1: amount to ship it to me, and when it arrives,
- 17:03Speaker 1: I'll give you the why amount. But then you're then
- 17:07Speaker 1: you're sketchy, though you know, how does it work? And
- 17:11Speaker 1: that's the thing I would stick. I'm going to freaking
- 17:13Speaker 1: Amazon before I go to No. This was this is
- 17:15Speaker 1: a very special thing that I had to search for
- 17:18Speaker 1: and found on Craigslist San Francisco. I mean, you know,
- 17:22Speaker 1: I don't. I would say. I would say, get a
- 17:24Speaker 1: third third party who has some you know, muscle or
- 17:27Speaker 1: someone with them to muscle. Do you mean like a
- 17:29Speaker 1: like a bodybuilder guy. I mean I would be like
- 17:31Speaker 1: a bodybuilder. But like I'll put it to this way.
- 17:33Speaker 1: If I was going to go get something on Craigslist,
- 17:35Speaker 1: no matter what it was, I'm bringing a friend. And
- 17:37Speaker 1: Donald has Donald has himself called me stocky, and like
- 17:41Speaker 1: I could fux somebody up and I still would bring
- 17:43Speaker 1: a friend with me no matter where I got to
- 17:45Speaker 1: pick anything. I'm right, But they murdered people on this ship.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Though I'm not they murdered people on this ship. There
- 17:51Speaker 1: must be some app We'll look it up and by
- 17:55Speaker 1: the way I'm saying. If you're not going to solve
- 17:57Speaker 1: this conundrum and you're listening, please email Joe. What's our
- 18:00Speaker 1: email again, it's scrubs. iHeart at gmail dot com. Email
- 18:05Speaker 1: us at scrubs iHeart at gmail dot com and tell
- 18:08Speaker 1: Joel how how you best recommend I deal with this conundrum? Actually,
- 18:13Speaker 1: I actually, you know what, it's funny that we're talking
- 18:15Speaker 1: about this because I know somebody who might be able
- 18:17Speaker 1: to help with this exact problem. Oh sorry, yeah, arrived,
- 18:25Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen. What's that headbands? He's got a headbead band.
- 18:28Speaker 1: He's got his Rambo headband on. He looks like if
- 18:31Speaker 1: Rambo had a pink headband. Oh wait, go out. And
- 18:38Speaker 1: then when I come in, I go full on tennis
- 18:41Speaker 1: star from the eighties and nice, Yeah you look you look.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I mean you look really cool. By the way, I'm
- 18:51Speaker 1: not laughing because it's not true. I'm laughing because to
- 18:54Speaker 1: say it, I'm very tight. Pink headband. I'm gonna I'm
- 18:57Speaker 1: gonna blow you up for one second because I just
- 19:00Speaker 1: before we're gonna move on to a lot of other things.
- 19:01Speaker 1: We haven't seen each other in two weeks, so we're
- 19:03Speaker 1: just rambling. Oh cool. Hey guys, By the way, I
- 19:05Speaker 1: missed you both. I love you both, love you too.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I was confessing to these guys, but I stopped because
- 19:11Speaker 1: I knew you were coming on that I saved the
- 19:15Speaker 1: finale of ted Lasso because I was enjoying the show.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I'm I'm happy to be a part of it, and
- 19:21Speaker 1: I and I was really enjoying it. And I saved
- 19:24Speaker 1: the finale for just a few nights ago, and I sobbed.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And Bill, I'm not talking when tears streamed down your face.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'm talking when you start to make an audible noise.
- 19:34Speaker 1: You people listening to know what I'm talking about. When
- 19:36Speaker 1: you're like and you're like, why tears are one thing, dude,
- 19:42Speaker 1: you don't need to make audible noises. It was so beautiful, dude,
- 19:47Speaker 1: And I really, really, really am. I hope it's okay
- 19:50Speaker 1: to say proud because I don't mean to connote. I mean,
- 19:53Speaker 1: it's weird because you're my mentor, but I'm so proud
- 19:55Speaker 1: of you. Oh kay you. By the way, it's not
- 19:58Speaker 1: it's my favorite thing. Is is my which is? I
- 20:00Speaker 1: think I annoy you guys, all four of you, by
- 20:02Speaker 1: calling this my podcast Hey, Joel, Hey down, I call
- 20:06Speaker 1: this my podcast. I get a little secret anger every
- 20:10Speaker 1: time somebody uh tweets to you and me about Ted
- 20:15Speaker 1: Lasso Zack. I love it. I like listen, Bill, I'm
- 20:19Speaker 1: just gonna put this out there. When you do the
- 20:21Speaker 1: rewatch podcast for Ted Lasso? Could I be the host
- 20:24Speaker 1: for that? Twenty years Donald, you'll be you'll be sixty,
- 20:29Speaker 1: that will be sixty six. My first topic is, Look,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I know Zachie had to work, so you guys had
- 20:35Speaker 1: to have a week down right, And so next time
- 20:40Speaker 1: Donald and I host and we make it a episode
- 20:44Speaker 1: slash talk about zach episode, It's gonna be delicious. I
- 20:47Speaker 1: love my My concern is that the fans will like
- 20:50Speaker 1: it more and then I'll be out of a hobby.
- 20:55Speaker 1: They won't I'll be respected. I need my hobby. Bill,
- 20:58Speaker 1: And if you're extra charming as you can and be,
- 21:00Speaker 1: the fans are gonna be like, whoa, that was fucking
- 21:02Speaker 1: way better? Bring back Bill, correct man? Bill. The chance
- 21:07Speaker 1: that you know I can dial it up and down
- 21:09Speaker 1: depending on the seat. Yeah, could you give little five
- 21:12Speaker 1: charm Bill instead of little ten charm when you do this? Yeah?
- 21:20Speaker 1: Good to see you, all right? We should probably we've
- 21:21Speaker 1: been doing We've done twenty four minutes without mentioning Strup,
- 21:24Speaker 1: so we should probably get into five six seven he
- 21:27Speaker 1: ses about show we made about a bunch of docs
- 21:33Speaker 1: and nurses can stories. So gat around here, yato around here,
- 21:51Speaker 1: Welcome to the show. We know you were upset. We
- 21:54Speaker 1: were off for two weeks. I'm so sorry. My my
- 21:56Speaker 1: instagram is I love where we off for two weeks.
- 21:59Speaker 1: We weren't off for two weeks. Sorry, the last week
- 22:03Speaker 1: we missed a week? So what does that mean? Did
- 22:07Speaker 1: we You mean we didn't put a new show me,
- 22:09Speaker 1: there was a gap. There's a gap between there was
- 22:12Speaker 1: one week gap, but there was a show. We did
- 22:15Speaker 1: put a show out, though, just a clip show. It's
- 22:18Speaker 1: very it's very. Bill will tell you it's pretty baldy
- 22:21Speaker 1: to put out a clip show your third season, but
- 22:23Speaker 1: we did it. Especially. But let me say something, Let
- 22:29Speaker 1: me let me say something. Let me quickly say something
- 22:34Speaker 1: in our defense. A lot of people who do these
- 22:36Speaker 1: bank episodes. Okay, now we could do that. We could
- 22:39Speaker 1: bank five of them and never have never missed. But
- 22:41Speaker 1: I quite enjoy this show being somewhat current. I like
- 22:45Speaker 1: that we can talk. I mean we we We usually
- 22:48Speaker 1: record on a Friday and aired on a Tuesday. This
- 22:50Speaker 1: week we're recording on a Wednesday because it's the holiday.
- 22:53Speaker 1: But I and I think the fans. I assume the
- 22:56Speaker 1: fans like that that we can talk about at least somewhat.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I don't want air episodes that we recorded a month ago. No,
- 23:04Speaker 1: but look as as as the guy that owns and
- 23:07Speaker 1: pays all of your salaries for my podcast, you know
- 23:10Speaker 1: I will say I don't like it when if we
- 23:13Speaker 1: can make it so, we don't drop a week, even
- 23:15Speaker 1: if it means me guest hosting or you got it,
- 23:18Speaker 1: got it, as long as you promise, if if you're
- 23:20Speaker 1: willing to, if you're really willing to do that, Bill,
- 23:22Speaker 1: you're a very busy milling, you're willing. He wants to
- 23:25Speaker 1: fucking take over the fucking bills. Podcasting is not a joke.
- 23:31Speaker 1: It's my podcast. I love it. Donald, after all this time,
- 23:39Speaker 1: you don't know him well enough to know the bills
- 23:41Speaker 1: podcasting is not merely a joke. You just gotta be cool.
- 23:50Speaker 1: That's my favorite. It's my favorite thing to do with
- 23:52Speaker 1: all of our TV writer friends. If anybody starts telling
- 23:56Speaker 1: me their idea for a show or a show they're
- 23:58Speaker 1: working on a pilot they're doing. I usually wait like
- 24:00Speaker 1: twenty minutes, I go, you know, by telling me I
- 24:02Speaker 1: now own about a third of this real I feel
- 24:09Speaker 1: like I have that contract somewhere. If you just take it,
- 24:11Speaker 1: tell me about it, then it's mine. That's how it works. Yes,
- 24:16Speaker 1: it's not hi, everybody. So now we're gonna talk about
- 24:19Speaker 1: the TV show Scrubs. Donald, do you have your recap reating?
- 24:23Speaker 1: This is a great episode and there's a big fun
- 24:27Speaker 1: trivia about this episode that Bill is the perfect person
- 24:30Speaker 1: to have on to talk about. Oh yeah, and by
- 24:32Speaker 1: the way, it makes me really happy. Don't mention it yet, Bill,
- 24:34Speaker 1: I'm teasing, and I'm doing what's called in the podcast
- 24:37Speaker 1: radio world. I'm teasing something. Yes, Well, come all back
- 24:43Speaker 1: right after. If you're doing a TV all right, here
- 24:44Speaker 1: comes Mike Timer, Ready, Donald, and go. Tara Reid is
- 24:49Speaker 1: back and she's covered in toilet paper and it is hot.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Kelso is trying to convince Ted the lawyer to kill himself.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Cox may not like Turk, but he damn sure respects him.
- 25:03Speaker 1: And Carla and Elliott need a man hoo. How people
- 25:06Speaker 1: view us as important for so many wrong reasons. We're
- 25:10Speaker 1: always worried about how we're perceived. I'll say this to that,
- 25:14Speaker 1: what I eat don't make you shit, So why worry
- 25:19Speaker 1: what I eat? So why worry you? Were You were
- 25:22Speaker 1: right on the thirty second mark with it. You had
- 25:24Speaker 1: seven seconds to expound on that. But I thought that
- 25:28Speaker 1: was well said. It was incredibly well like teacher quote.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean, that's something I heard jay Z say once
- 25:36Speaker 1: and I was like, that's a great line. What you know.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I was going to make it, but it was jay Z.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I'd take that on a teacha hova. I'll tell you what.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I can't do and get away
- 25:46Speaker 1: with it is quote jay Z without seeming like an idiot.
- 25:49Speaker 1: That's true. You can do it on really, let me
- 25:52Speaker 1: try it right now. Okay, what I eat don't make
- 25:54Speaker 1: you ship. And that's something I've always thought about. I
- 25:57Speaker 1: think that's good that everybody I didn't sound right coming
- 26:01Speaker 1: out of him. It didn't sound right. Well he could
- 26:02Speaker 1: talk about this well, you could say, I think if
- 26:05Speaker 1: you're if you're a white guy, you have to be
- 26:06Speaker 1: like and as jay Z once said, what I eat
- 26:09Speaker 1: don't fall. So I think I'm doing age is part
- 26:11Speaker 1: of it. I'm just too old, you know, to be quoting.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I'm about to say. You guys are the same age,
- 26:16Speaker 1: aren't you. Yeah, he's got to be pushing five. Oh
- 26:18Speaker 1: now right, he's close to it. When is your birthday?
- 26:21Speaker 1: It's coming up? Yeah, after Christmas. Bill, if the world
- 26:27Speaker 1: weren't ending, I would give you the biggest birthday hug. Actually, Bill,
- 26:31Speaker 1: you're in my we've potted, we've we've become pod buddies,
- 26:33Speaker 1: so I can see you. At least I'm gonna come in.
- 26:35Speaker 1: We'll find a way, man, we'll find a way to
- 26:37Speaker 1: hug the twenty six. Sorry, it's the twenty six. You're
- 26:39Speaker 1: not Jesus. You're Jesus's Day, your day after Jesus. Yeah,
- 26:42Speaker 1: well yeah, all right, I'll say to me, I take
- 26:46Speaker 1: offense of that, you know, Jesus. Bill Janey back Janey
- 26:53Speaker 1: Bachan is the writer on this one, with the very
- 26:55Speaker 1: talented Craig zisc as the director. And it's the Christmas episode,
- 26:59Speaker 1: which is sort of a proposed because we're getting into
- 27:02Speaker 1: the holiday season. Bill, let's start open. Yeah, well, there's Christmas.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I don't know if it's the Christmas episode, but there's
- 27:09Speaker 1: Christmas decorations everywhere. Yeah, I think it's the closest episode
- 27:12Speaker 1: we had Aaron to Christmas. I don't think we did
- 27:14Speaker 1: a Christmas episode this year. So Bill, tell everyone what
- 27:17Speaker 1: they very unique. Only once, I believe in eight and
- 27:20Speaker 1: a half or nine seasons did this occur. Tell everybody
- 27:23Speaker 1: what occurred. Oh so this is fascinating, man, because the look,
- 27:27Speaker 1: it's an it's an old argument that's kind of gone
- 27:29Speaker 1: away thanks to streaming. But what television network television specifically
- 27:36Speaker 1: considered appropriate with sensors and with standards and practices was
- 27:41Speaker 1: so weird. Especially you know, the age old argument was violence,
- 27:47Speaker 1: you know versus uh, sexual cond you know, you kill
- 27:50Speaker 1: anybody on TV, but don't have anybody you know, taking
- 27:54Speaker 1: someone shirt off or something like that is crazy. And
- 27:57Speaker 1: this episode in particular drove me insane because it was
- 28:02Speaker 1: before medicinal marijuana was crazy, crazy, widespread, And the episode
- 28:11Speaker 1: was originally written that Elliott and Carla are trying to
- 28:15Speaker 1: help a cancerous woman who is on the way out
- 28:19Speaker 1: and just having such a hard time with the pain
- 28:22Speaker 1: and the discomfort. It was them out and about trying
- 28:25Speaker 1: to get her marijuana because they knew medically that would
- 28:30Speaker 1: alleviate a ship ton of her symptoms, and we handed
- 28:34Speaker 1: that script in and said, you can't there this. You can't,
- 28:37Speaker 1: unfortunately for you on NBC, even though it's for altruistic reasons.
- 28:44Speaker 1: You can't have a physician and a nurse driving around
- 28:47Speaker 1: trying to find someone they can buy pot off of.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Pause one moment there, Bill, as I recall, you handed
- 28:53Speaker 1: it in, but we had begun shooting you. We shot
- 28:56Speaker 1: a scene or two of its. Yeah, but you know
- 28:58Speaker 1: that just makes me look like some do it? All right,
- 29:01Speaker 1: So what Zack story. One of the parts of Zach
- 29:03Speaker 1: story is Bill sometimes didn't hand in the script until
- 29:06Speaker 1: after we started shooting. Yeah, yeah, but you did. Yeah,
- 29:11Speaker 1: the subject says, Bill, Well, you had you had the
- 29:14Speaker 1: power and clout to be able to do shit like
- 29:17Speaker 1: that in the day. But this was the one chance.
- 29:19Speaker 1: This is the one opportunity where they were like yeah,
- 29:21Speaker 1: but no, yeah, so say they said we wouldn't air it,
- 29:24Speaker 1: And partly because it was an easy fix, and partly
- 29:28Speaker 1: because I found it so hypocritical, I said, all right, well,
- 29:32Speaker 1: because we need the story to storre work structurally, we'll
- 29:35Speaker 1: just have the woman that's dying be a virgin and
- 29:38Speaker 1: we'll have Elliott and Carla go look for a man
- 29:41Speaker 1: horse so she can get laid. And they're like, oh,
- 29:43Speaker 1: that's fine. I love that you were being facetious. And
- 29:48Speaker 1: they were like, all right, but do that so they
- 29:53Speaker 1: can't go even though it's proven by you know, so
- 29:56Speaker 1: many medical studies. And now, as you guys know, we
- 30:00Speaker 1: use uh, you know, different products, CBD, etcetera for any pain,
- 30:06Speaker 1: but this was this was whatever, this was yea, even
- 30:09Speaker 1: back then it was considered an amazing treatment for the
- 30:12Speaker 1: side effects for chemo, you know, and for uh, for
- 30:16Speaker 1: nausea and for all that stuff. So I'm I'm like,
- 30:18Speaker 1: doctors can't go get a patient that's dying marijuana, but
- 30:23Speaker 1: they can go to anywhere and get her a man horse,
- 30:26Speaker 1: or she can have sex in the hospital. Yeah, that
- 30:28Speaker 1: sounds funny. I'm like, all, but it is funny. Way
- 30:32Speaker 1: it was funny. That is funny. It's a very it's
- 30:35Speaker 1: a very funny episode Bill with a lot of memorable quotes,
- 30:38Speaker 1: including the first ever what has two thumbs and doesn't
- 30:41Speaker 1: give a crap bob bob job by the way, never ever,
- 30:45Speaker 1: And that's an old joke and the only reason that
- 30:48Speaker 1: joke feels new. Is it has never ever been delivered
- 30:51Speaker 1: better than Ken J. Jenkins delivered man just and by
- 30:55Speaker 1: the way, you know it's next version. It's sequel, which
- 30:58Speaker 1: you guys will get to, is what has two thumbs
- 31:01Speaker 1: and still doesn't give a crap? Instead Bob Kelso? How
- 31:07Speaker 1: you do? And it's Bob Kelso. I thought we had met.
- 31:12Speaker 1: You know, I had never heard this joke until this
- 31:15Speaker 1: moment too. Yeah, this was the first time, and so
- 31:19Speaker 1: I kind of got caught off guard when he was like,
- 31:20Speaker 1: what has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap? I
- 31:22Speaker 1: was like, what has two thumbs and doesn't? And then
- 31:25Speaker 1: he goes bam. I laughed so hard. I don't think
- 31:30Speaker 1: i've yeah to this day. You're absolutely right. Kids has
- 31:33Speaker 1: kid crushes it better than dude anybody has. It was hilarious.
- 31:37Speaker 1: It's hilarious, and I, like Donald I never I didn't
- 31:39Speaker 1: know it was a known joke. I thought you guys
- 31:41Speaker 1: came up with it, but I thought it was hilarious.
- 31:42Speaker 1: He's an assassin. When he just says things like they're
- 31:45Speaker 1: real that way, it just kills me. My biggest memory
- 31:50Speaker 1: of And you guys can then drag through the different
- 31:52Speaker 1: of this particular episode was I occasionally had times on scrubs.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I'm sure you guys did too, that I'd wander onto
- 31:59Speaker 1: set I wouldn't be sure or what we were doing,
- 32:00Speaker 1: and then what was happening there would make me think
- 32:03Speaker 1: that I was on Hulusenagin's or have a moment like
- 32:07Speaker 1: how anybody do this on television? Because I had a
- 32:14Speaker 1: bunch of things going on in this episode and was
- 32:16Speaker 1: working on other things too sometimes. And I strolled down
- 32:20Speaker 1: into the apartment set, which was away from everywhere else,
- 32:23Speaker 1: and I walked in and Terror Reid was sitting on
- 32:25Speaker 1: a throne of toilet paper, and there were like a
- 32:28Speaker 1: bunch of male models dancing around, and I'm like, what
- 32:30Speaker 1: the hell is going on? How is this? This isn't
- 32:33Speaker 1: something for national television? Is it? Like? No, no, you guys,
- 32:36Speaker 1: is in the script? All right? There's some full that
- 32:39Speaker 1: shit had me rolling tower. There was two MM. There's
- 32:42Speaker 1: two different sim there's two different tw read you're conflating too.
- 32:46Speaker 1: There's one where she's in a room made of toilet paper,
- 32:49Speaker 1: drinking a cocktail out of a toilet paper roll, and
- 32:53Speaker 1: then there's another where I'm sort of a studious nerdy
- 32:58Speaker 1: guy reading my book, and she's filled the apartment with
- 33:01Speaker 1: male strippers who are gyrating all over her, and she
- 33:04Speaker 1: shim hammocks everywhere or something. It'll be out of hammocks everywhere.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Why Bill, Why why do j d and and and
- 33:15Speaker 1: Turk have a rule about the guests bringing their own
- 33:17Speaker 1: toilet paper? H I think that that was That was
- 33:25Speaker 1: loosely based on a story I told about my college
- 33:30Speaker 1: roommate named Steve mac who whenever we went on spring
- 33:33Speaker 1: breaks or on trips, every time he opened his backpack,
- 33:36Speaker 1: there'd be toilet paper in there, and it just always
- 33:39Speaker 1: by the way. It's like those people that bring their
- 33:41Speaker 1: own pillow on trips and you think you and then
- 33:44Speaker 1: you sleep on the pillow. And we used to give
- 33:46Speaker 1: him a shit, you know, like, oh if you baby
- 33:48Speaker 1: your ass, little baby you and we get you know,
- 33:49Speaker 1: we used to give him costs of shit about it.
- 33:51Speaker 1: But then you get to some ski resort or some
- 33:55Speaker 1: shitty hotel and they would have like two ply sand
- 33:58Speaker 1: paper hanging from metal things by the toilet, and Steve
- 34:01Speaker 1: Mack would be like, nobody touched my own toilet, And
- 34:05Speaker 1: I'm like, that's good. That should be a rule. For
- 34:09Speaker 1: bring your own toilet paper anywhere you go. That's funny. Yeah,
- 34:11Speaker 1: I have a buddy that brings his own wipes wherever
- 34:13Speaker 1: he goes. It's not dumb. You know. I travel with
- 34:17Speaker 1: a pillow. Now I don't feel bad about it. I
- 34:18Speaker 1: did my first pillow travel, this time to London, Bill,
- 34:22Speaker 1: because I have fallen in love with a pillow. And
- 34:26Speaker 1: you can go to the fanciest hotel or the cheapest
- 34:28Speaker 1: motel and and and have bad pillows and it sucks. Uh.
- 34:33Speaker 1: You want to know another odd thing. And I did
- 34:34Speaker 1: see this, I think because I looked at watch the
- 34:37Speaker 1: episode last night and I didn't want to do a Gabby,
- 34:39Speaker 1: which is what it means when you oh my god,
- 34:41Speaker 1: I'm told Bill. I was like, Bill, you you told
- 34:43Speaker 1: us I'll bring a writer on and the writer didn't
- 34:45Speaker 1: watch the episode. The h I love Gabby. They're so funny.
- 34:48Speaker 1: That was so funny. It wasn't great, but we'd love
- 34:51Speaker 1: to give her shit about it. The you know, she
- 34:54Speaker 1: doesn't don't worry. She doesn't listen. She doesn't know where talking.
- 34:57Speaker 1: By the way, this is on a Friday. She will
- 34:59Speaker 1: not listen no matter what. The other piece of trivia
- 35:02Speaker 1: that I remembered about this particular episode was there's a
- 35:05Speaker 1: joke about Elliott saying someone saw her orgasm face. And
- 35:09Speaker 1: I remember getting ship the writer's room because we are
- 35:13Speaker 1: pretty good about continuity, but we contradicted ourselves with Elliott's
- 35:18Speaker 1: sexual past. You did thousand times you did scrubs. Wicki
- 35:21Speaker 1: is very upset about it. I will read you a
- 35:23Speaker 1: direct quote from from people on TV without pity. We're
- 35:27Speaker 1: not having it. Let me tell you something here we go.
- 35:29Speaker 1: It says, when Elliott is talking to her patient, she
- 35:33Speaker 1: talks about a time in high school when she had
- 35:35Speaker 1: a quote orgasm face. Yet in a previous episode, she
- 35:38Speaker 1: told Carla that she has never had an orgasm. Elliot's
- 35:42Speaker 1: romantic life is full of differing stories, their contradictions. We also,
- 35:46Speaker 1: I think she said once we said that she lost
- 35:49Speaker 1: I think she lost her virginity in a crawl space.
- 35:55Speaker 1: But maybe we can ragalize it by saying Elliott is
- 35:58Speaker 1: just just doesn't I don't know, how can you say
- 36:00Speaker 1: she doesn't remember her? And he also said, I think
- 36:05Speaker 1: one time she lost her virginia with the guy that
- 36:07Speaker 1: lost his arm to a bear. If you remember that.
- 36:10Speaker 1: The way she's so funny in this episode. She was
- 36:14Speaker 1: just like, let loose on this episode. I mean, you're
- 36:17Speaker 1: both the writing for her and her whole just way
- 36:21Speaker 1: of being. That was just fucking on like level ten
- 36:23Speaker 1: this There were some uncomfortable moments though in this episode.
- 36:26Speaker 1: For No, that one Randall jumping out of the closet
- 36:31Speaker 1: and Krista and Johnny c being in the bed and leather.
- 36:34Speaker 1: That kind of sucked me up. And do you remember
- 36:37Speaker 1: who's in the remember who the g was it random? I? No?
- 36:41Speaker 1: Wait better? Yeah, let wait hold up this time, No,
- 36:47Speaker 1: Krista was oiled up too. They both put the oil
- 36:50Speaker 1: on because they're doing some pulp fiction, gimp stuff. It
- 36:54Speaker 1: was very weird. I can't imagine Christa reading that and
- 36:57Speaker 1: being like, okay, Bill, Okay, By the way, I just
- 37:01Speaker 1: laid low and tried to avoid her, you know what
- 37:03Speaker 1: I mean. This is Martin Clubb's first time on the show,
- 37:09Speaker 1: and he's very funny, and he becomes a member of
- 37:11Speaker 1: the janitorial staff eventually, right Bill, Yeah, and uh he
- 37:15Speaker 1: was riding high too, because it was about right about
- 37:17Speaker 1: the time that he became kind of a Pirates of
- 37:19Speaker 1: the Caribbean or Caribbeans, Right Rock Spirates. Yeah, he's he's
- 37:24Speaker 1: a famous action hero, now you know what I mean.
- 37:26Speaker 1: He's fun He's a very funny guy. And he uh
- 37:30Speaker 1: he I remember he was kind of cocky off Pirates
- 37:32Speaker 1: because he rolled up in a pretty baller Corvette. Yeah.
- 37:37Speaker 1: That uh that I always thought was funny because it
- 37:40Speaker 1: was like the most dude masculine baller of fucking muscle car,
- 37:46Speaker 1: just absolutely rock star car. Hey, we're gonna take a
- 37:48Speaker 1: quick break, everybody, you know, we'll be right back with more.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Long are those breaks? Are those breaks? Because I listened
- 38:06Speaker 1: to you guys, those breakes like forty seconds, so they're
- 38:08Speaker 1: like like five six, seven, eight off, turn it off?
- 38:18Speaker 1: You had that locked and loaded bill. I did not.
- 38:21Speaker 1: I did not. I just did it. I sold it
- 38:23Speaker 1: because I can act. So Doctor Cox's cool Breath of
- 38:27Speaker 1: Joy travels through the hospital. It finds Donald and and
- 38:32Speaker 1: and Judy, who are arguing. By the way, Donald, I
- 38:34Speaker 1: laughed out loud. You, by the way, you were particularly
- 38:36Speaker 1: silly and funny in this episode. That you were You
- 38:39Speaker 1: felt like, I'm gonna be doing what you might call watching.
- 38:41Speaker 1: That was really really good you. You you were particularly
- 38:46Speaker 1: I don't know, you were just silly and it felt
- 38:47Speaker 1: like you were riffing and stuff. But when you you go,
- 38:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna have you're talking about your your wedding day,
- 38:51Speaker 1: and I'm gonna have a cape and a wind machine,
- 38:53Speaker 1: and I'm gonna be like I do very funny. That
- 39:00Speaker 1: made me laugh. I would look good in the cape
- 39:02Speaker 1: and a wind machine, though. Man, So how about Elliott.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Elliott takes a pick of her boobs. This is right
- 39:09Speaker 1: that she This is right at the beginning of cell
- 39:11Speaker 1: phone cameras. I'm guessing because this was kind of She's like,
- 39:15Speaker 1: I've got one of those new cell phone cameras and
- 39:18Speaker 1: she takes a picture. She sends it to a random
- 39:20Speaker 1: person instead of Sean, And I am assuming that's a
- 39:23Speaker 1: stumpman because he took a glorious fake hit to the
- 39:26Speaker 1: head without flinching, which has advanced. He walked, I mean
- 39:31Speaker 1: he sold the ship out of that does not he
- 39:33Speaker 1: does not anticipate at all. No, it is very First
- 39:36Speaker 1: of all, if you're listening and you've never tried to
- 39:38Speaker 1: fake walk into a telephone pole, it's a little tricky
- 39:42Speaker 1: to do the choreography of it, but not to flinch
- 39:44Speaker 1: for even a split anything is the hard part. And
- 39:48Speaker 1: that guy nailed it. Do you remember how many takes
- 39:51Speaker 1: Zach in the pilot that we had to do because
- 39:54Speaker 1: you would anticipate and close your eyes before you ran
- 39:57Speaker 1: into the door at the end. It's yeah, that was
- 40:00Speaker 1: my first first episode, first time trying to do physical comedy,
- 40:04Speaker 1: and it's very hard to walk into a glass door.
- 40:07Speaker 1: You can get yourself to do the timing of the
- 40:10Speaker 1: of it, but but first of all, the glass door,
- 40:12Speaker 1: unlike a telephone pole, you can't fake it. Basically where
- 40:14Speaker 1: we ended up with the pilot is you just gotta
- 40:16Speaker 1: do it, but you can't flinch. So walk into this
- 40:19Speaker 1: glass door and not flinch is really fucking hard. That's yeah,
- 40:23Speaker 1: that's a very difficult because your brain is like, no
- 40:26Speaker 1: matter what you're trying to do as an actor, your
- 40:28Speaker 1: brain is like, no, we're not going to walk into
- 40:30Speaker 1: the glass door right, could close your eyes right now
- 40:33Speaker 1: or it's gonna hurt your eyes right. So, but but anyway,
- 40:36Speaker 1: this guy walked into a telephone pole like a pro.
- 40:39Speaker 1: That was a plus A plus stunt there. I think
- 40:41Speaker 1: he might have been a pro. No, he was definitely
- 40:43Speaker 1: a stunt man. I mean he's one of our John
- 40:46Speaker 1: Q citizen is not just showing up and doing that.
- 40:50Speaker 1: So then we find do you guys remember because that
- 40:54Speaker 1: that was it was cell phones renewed. You guys remember
- 40:56Speaker 1: that I give us all beepers and pagers back then
- 40:58Speaker 1: at the h Yeah, you gave it the very first.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I thought it was the skyways. No Bill. Bill's Christmas present.
- 41:05Speaker 1: We may have mentioned this before, but Bill present one
- 41:07Speaker 1: year was blackberries for everybody, and I remember being like,
- 41:11Speaker 1: what is this? You just write sentences and it comes up.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I bought, I bought. I like to buy technology for
- 41:17Speaker 1: people about sixty eight weeks before it becomes Obsoletely, that's
- 41:19Speaker 1: my thing. Well, no, blackberries lasted a long time. I
- 41:23Speaker 1: think they finally just folded. But but you that was
- 41:26Speaker 1: my favorite, very first device was from you. Bill. Did
- 41:29Speaker 1: you ever have a side kick? Anybody have a side kick? No?
- 41:32Speaker 1: No sidekick that you'd look cool? They shit flipped up
- 41:35Speaker 1: and made a sound and everything was like a star trek. Yeah,
- 41:38Speaker 1: it looks cool. Look like that. I think. By the way, Donald,
- 41:42Speaker 1: I think you're onto something. I think cell phones are
- 41:45Speaker 1: all the same. Now, if they started doing cell phones
- 41:48Speaker 1: that made cool noises or shot little hologram lasers out,
- 41:51Speaker 1: and it seemed like kind of even it was just
- 41:54Speaker 1: for bells and whistles, like a little bit of a
- 41:55Speaker 1: Star Trek or Star Wars. Would I would buy that
- 41:59Speaker 1: ship in a heart beat if I could get an
- 42:00Speaker 1: app And it was Princess Leia doing the help me
- 42:03Speaker 1: Obi wan Kenobi speech. If your phone went all out
- 42:08Speaker 1: hologram lightsaber when you hit that button. I think we're
- 42:13Speaker 1: holograms in our lifetime. I mean think so you think
- 42:16Speaker 1: we'll get holograms like Star Wars? I think you? Did
- 42:19Speaker 1: you see him Kardashian's gift from Kanye, Oh my gosh,
- 42:24Speaker 1: I'm already here. No but I but she gave Kanye
- 42:28Speaker 1: gave her him a hologram of her father singing to her.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I think a four minute speech. Then he gave to
- 42:37Speaker 1: gave a four minute speech and a lot of it
- 42:38Speaker 1: was about how great Kanye was. No, but but think
- 42:44Speaker 1: it was the type of hologram like Princess Leia, like
- 42:46Speaker 1: projected into the middle of the room. Was it? It
- 42:49Speaker 1: was like it was? He said, they watched it on
- 42:51Speaker 1: a video and you know it's expensive and three dimensional
- 42:55Speaker 1: and it looks like him and he speaks and walks
- 42:57Speaker 1: around and smiles. What I'm saying, he Kanye obviously hired
- 43:00Speaker 1: amazing special effects house. I don't it wasn't like what
- 43:04Speaker 1: we're talking about, like with the Cupio projecting, Princess are
- 43:07Speaker 1: two are sorry? Sorry sorry? Sacrilege are two projecting? Do
- 43:11Speaker 1: you not know that that's upset? It's a mistake. But
- 43:14Speaker 1: he's like, he's like, he's like he like twitched. Yeah,
- 43:19Speaker 1: I corrected you before you got all of the few
- 43:20Speaker 1: you want to talk about how Mandalorian is not as
- 43:22Speaker 1: good this season? Or is that can upset you? Guys?
- 43:24Speaker 1: Oh you're gonna you're about smack in the face. Man.
- 43:27Speaker 1: It's better than it was last year. Here's the thing
- 43:29Speaker 1: that Okay, Bill, I'm sorry, this has to happen. Well
- 43:35Speaker 1: know your feelings. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Here's
- 43:39Speaker 1: the thing. Last year, it was the reason why most
- 43:41Speaker 1: fans who aren't big Star Wars fans liked it last
- 43:44Speaker 1: year compared to this year, was because it was it
- 43:48Speaker 1: stood true to the Western and it's now you know
- 43:51Speaker 1: it was the lone man with the Samurai movie. It
- 43:54Speaker 1: stood true to that, the lone man, his kid, and
- 43:57Speaker 1: then going through these towns, now they there's all of
- 44:00Speaker 1: this story that they've developed from the future that's going
- 44:06Speaker 1: to take place in the future, and all the story
- 44:08Speaker 1: that's developed in between Return of the Jedi and what
- 44:10Speaker 1: takes place. Then they have to freak and piece it
- 44:13Speaker 1: together because of the I'm not gonna say bad story writing,
- 44:18Speaker 1: but because of the holes that are in it all.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Now I understand it doesn't I understand, it doesn't make sense.
- 44:24Speaker 1: You don't like it, I understand. But for Star Wars fan,
- 44:27Speaker 1: hold on, let me finish. For Star Wars fans, the
- 44:29Speaker 1: last five ten minutes of that episode where they go
- 44:34Speaker 1: and they see spoiler alert everyone, spoiler alertler Dan'll make
- 44:38Speaker 1: the spoiler die. Where they where they go into the
- 44:44Speaker 1: room and they see all of the clone bodies and
- 44:47Speaker 1: you see that this could be where Snoke came from.
- 44:50Speaker 1: That's a big deal, dude. That's a huge deal for
- 44:52Speaker 1: all Star Wars fans because when that movie came out,
- 44:55Speaker 1: that was a hole and it was I'm just speaking
- 44:58Speaker 1: come now, I'm just speaking for me. I found Mandalorian
- 45:02Speaker 1: to be one of my favorite Star Wars things. At
- 45:05Speaker 1: season one, I thought was incredibly done and it's still
- 45:08Speaker 1: incredibly done and incredibly made, and the production design and
- 45:11Speaker 1: cinematography and storytelling. It's all great, I'm be saying. For me,
- 45:15Speaker 1: these first few haven't been as holy shit intriguing as
- 45:20Speaker 1: season one. Maybe I'm alone. These first few for me
- 45:25Speaker 1: have been incredible because of the characters they've introduced and
- 45:28Speaker 1: who's coming up next? Bill? Do you watch it or not?
- 45:31Speaker 1: I do, because it's Henry's favorite show and he's way
- 45:33Speaker 1: into and I think I think that second seasons of
- 45:38Speaker 1: shows arrived with that much hoop, winner that well done
- 45:40Speaker 1: are always a nightmare. And to me, as a writer producer,
- 45:45Speaker 1: what I think you always do in a second season
- 45:47Speaker 1: is slow down a smidge, try to lower expectations, get
- 45:53Speaker 1: the exposition out, lay the groundwork for the stories you're
- 45:55Speaker 1: gonna tell, especially, you know, like that show you're gonna
- 45:58Speaker 1: be on for a long time, because it's almost when
- 46:01Speaker 1: you the bar is set so high it's almost impossible
- 46:03Speaker 1: to realize people's expectations you have. I'm gonna say you
- 46:07Speaker 1: haven't you have this coming up next season with you
- 46:09Speaker 1: have this Lasso because it's a global hit and people
- 46:11Speaker 1: were like, come on, keep it going, Bill, and you're like,
- 46:14Speaker 1: how do I? How do I? You can't sustain that
- 46:18Speaker 1: you have to have some some ups and downs to
- 46:20Speaker 1: the storytelling. I guess yeah, But you know, I think
- 46:23Speaker 1: that I think that ours is a little different because
- 46:26Speaker 1: you know Jason and he's kind of mapping it out
- 46:29Speaker 1: is to three. It's a three season show, so he
- 46:32Speaker 1: you know, everybody in this it's like what Donald's talking about.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Super fans know that they're connecting tissue in the Star
- 46:38Speaker 1: Wars universe, and for us, everybody knows that they get
- 46:41Speaker 1: an end to this story in the third season. So so, Bill,
- 46:44Speaker 1: are you giving us a fake Doctors exclusive that ted
- 46:46Speaker 1: Lasso will only go three seasons? Ted Lasso is a
- 46:50Speaker 1: three season show. After the third season, I will desperately
- 46:55Speaker 1: try to get mister Sudeikis to do it. Like the
- 46:58Speaker 1: only way I think a fourth season of ted Lasso
- 47:00Speaker 1: exists would be like if ted Lasso went and coached
- 47:04Speaker 1: a soccer team who played about a block from Jason's
- 47:07Speaker 1: house in real life. You know what I mean? Oh?
- 47:09Speaker 1: I see, but Bill, Bill, don't mess up our exclusive. Please, Okay,
- 47:14Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, you are hearing it from the showrunner's mouth.
- 47:17Speaker 1: This might only be a three season show. That that
- 47:22Speaker 1: that that mad like all the Press. When this goes viral,
- 47:24Speaker 1: we want all the press for the podcast mentioned Big
- 47:27Speaker 1: Doctor's Real Friends. Hey, press, when you pick this up
- 47:29Speaker 1: and make it go viral. You heard it on Fake Doctors,
- 47:32Speaker 1: Real Friends. Bill talked about it on Fake Doctors, Real Friends.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I'll talk about anything, Bill, you better not give anybody
- 47:38Speaker 1: else exclusive. We hear you on other podcasts and we
- 47:41Speaker 1: get jealous. I don't think I've done another podcast. So
- 47:44Speaker 1: you did the sports he one, Oh yeah, but the
- 47:46Speaker 1: sports we won. They made fun of you for calling
- 47:48Speaker 1: on the podcast. That's a nationally syndicated radio show. He
- 47:54Speaker 1: doesn't know much about sports talking. I don't know anything.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I don't know anything. That show is super cool. Really
- 48:01Speaker 1: love what they do over there because it's a much
- 48:03Speaker 1: like you, guys really say, you're a rewatch show. You
- 48:06Speaker 1: talk about the world and issues and connect That group
- 48:10Speaker 1: is uh masquerading as a sports show, and they talk
- 48:13Speaker 1: about what's going on in the world and look after
- 48:15Speaker 1: each other and stuff, and it's really cool. You really
- 48:18Speaker 1: like it. Give it a shout out. What's it called?
- 48:19Speaker 1: What's it called? It's called Dan Libertardu and Stugats and
- 48:24Speaker 1: Donald hadn't heard of it. Donald mister spot guy. I
- 48:28Speaker 1: do watch Dan Libertard on on ESPN with his dad. Yep, Poppy,
- 48:32Speaker 1: Poppy poppy. Uh and uh so I do, I do,
- 48:38Speaker 1: I do know who he is. I didn't yet a
- 48:41Speaker 1: radio show like that. It got so big nationally that
- 48:43Speaker 1: they started airing it on ESPN two hours a day,
- 48:47Speaker 1: five days a week for a while. Now it's on
- 48:49Speaker 1: ESPN Plus. And was that the same thing with him
- 48:52Speaker 1: and his dad was that the show with him is
- 48:55Speaker 1: this one was more that him and a bunch of
- 48:58Speaker 1: producers and ragtag group of guests. They kind of sort
- 49:03Speaker 1: of sect dissect sports issues, but more talk about culture,
- 49:07Speaker 1: you know. And look, they just had a great like
- 49:10Speaker 1: ted Lasso like moment, which was ESPN made massive cutbacks
- 49:15Speaker 1: and let tons of people go, and one of the
- 49:19Speaker 1: beloved young producers on the show and they're all on
- 49:22Speaker 1: air on screen talent got let go. It just part
- 49:25Speaker 1: of the ESPN things. So they stopped Aaron shows for
- 49:28Speaker 1: a couple of weeks and I mean a couple of days,
- 49:29Speaker 1: and when they started up again, he was miraculously Dan's
- 49:33Speaker 1: assistant and had returned to the show with his salary
- 49:36Speaker 1: being paid by Dan, you know. And he's a good guy,
- 49:41Speaker 1: you know. And it's an interesting it's an interesting, funny show.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Roy Bellamy is the dude over there that is a
- 49:46Speaker 1: massive scrubspant. Shout out Roy Bellamy every week. Every week
- 49:53Speaker 1: you you tweet man something about the show. Shout out
- 49:56Speaker 1: Roy Bellamy Man. Thank you Roy, And I'm sorry I
- 49:58Speaker 1: called it a podcast. I know now that it is
- 50:00Speaker 1: naturally sid They they're so successful. They have splinter off
- 50:04Speaker 1: podcasts from their radio show. They're over on ESPN. We're
- 50:07Speaker 1: gonna do that too, eventually. Donald and Joel are gonna
- 50:09Speaker 1: have a Star Wars thing where they we're working on it.
- 50:11Speaker 1: I owe Joella recording. Why why are you blowing off Joel? Dude,
- 50:15Speaker 1: I'm not blowing off anybody, man. I'm a busy motherfucker.
- 50:18Speaker 1: You mean that we're shooting on a Wednesday. We're recording
- 50:20Speaker 1: on a Wednesday because you were freaking directing. Why are
- 50:22Speaker 1: you directing when we got when we're making a podcast, motherfucker?
- 50:25Speaker 1: Why are you directing the pond? Donald took a shirt off.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Why would you take this? Because I'm pissed off about this, motherfucker.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I'm this motherfucker just pissing me a fuck off the
- 50:38Speaker 1: running down the street. Are you punching yourself in the chest? Donald,
- 50:45Speaker 1: I got an ice picking my eye in my hand.
- 50:48Speaker 1: I'm stabbing myself. Yell I'm listening. I'm mad, Donald. Are
- 50:52Speaker 1: you mad that I that I had the audacity to
- 50:54Speaker 1: go direct something for four days? I'm pissed off about that.
- 50:57Speaker 1: I'm pissed off about that. I'm also upset about the
- 51:00Speaker 1: that I saw you got an xbox I saw then XO. Yeah,
- 51:04Speaker 1: sure you showed the picture. You know what you promised me.
- 51:07Speaker 1: You know what you promised me. You and Danny could
- 51:09Speaker 1: both promised me something, and I'm sitting here without it.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I'm just gonna like to give it away. I'm gonna
- 51:14Speaker 1: tell you, Joel, Yeah, just wait anyway, I have to
- 51:16Speaker 1: interject Zach because you guys have to understand that for me,
- 51:19Speaker 1: this is so surreal because when Donald was yelling, I
- 51:22Speaker 1: immediately went back to one of my favorite moments and
- 51:25Speaker 1: Scrubs And he's mad that JD went to disney Disneyland.
- 51:31Speaker 1: That man went to Disneyland without me. Elliott, I tried,
- 51:38Speaker 1: was You're like, I saw what you got, you got
- 51:43Speaker 1: and you're mad about that? It sounds exactly like I
- 51:45Speaker 1: got a roller coaster. They got a roller coaster the door.
- 51:48Speaker 1: They got a ride where you can see Nemo when
- 51:51Speaker 1: it comes up to you and you're like, hi, Nemo, No,
- 51:54Speaker 1: don't you don't say it? Like they got roller coasters
- 51:56Speaker 1: and roller coasters and dark. They got roller coasters that
- 51:59Speaker 1: roller coast in the dark, the best hold together for
- 52:05Speaker 1: a second. For a second, You're like, you know, I'm fine,
- 52:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna go on with my day. I can't. I
- 52:10Speaker 1: can't do it. That's one of the funny I laugh
- 52:14Speaker 1: at that every time I see by the way, I've
- 52:16Speaker 1: since been to Disneyland with him many times. Yeah, I
- 52:19Speaker 1: know that, But you guys just recreated that in your
- 52:21Speaker 1: real friendship life. Do you know that? Really? That had
- 52:24Speaker 1: to come from real life though, from him going to
- 52:26Speaker 1: Disneyland without me and me being pissed off about it.
- 52:29Speaker 1: That has to be the probably didn't do it, probably
- 52:31Speaker 1: did happen, all right, listen, what happened on this? What
- 52:33Speaker 1: were you supposed to do? You're not supposed to buy that. No, No,
- 52:36Speaker 1: there's an x there's a brand new Xbox that came out.
- 52:38Speaker 1: It's called the Xbox X. Is that what it's called
- 52:40Speaker 1: Danel and Xbox Series X, but we were supposed to
- 52:44Speaker 1: get the PS five though. That's what Joel is still
- 52:47Speaker 1: trying to get. Bill if you want to get her
- 52:48Speaker 1: at Christmas, I got like five of them. If anybody
- 52:51Speaker 1: wants you not if you don't want to see if
- 52:59Speaker 1: you really want to steal my podcast from me, find
- 53:02Speaker 1: a way to gift Joel and Daniel PS fives, and
- 53:05Speaker 1: I think I'll be fired. I'm yours. Whatever has so
- 53:11Speaker 1: much money he could probably have someone make them from
- 53:13Speaker 1: scratch in his basement. Yeah, I want to give one
- 53:17Speaker 1: for Henry for Christmas and then one for Henry to
- 53:20Speaker 1: give to someone else for Christmas. So he's got a
- 53:21Speaker 1: bunch of them. Just sit be funny. I'm gonna say this.
- 53:24Speaker 1: I will say this for all of you out there
- 53:26Speaker 1: who are PS five's and Xbox Series xes and everything
- 53:31Speaker 1: like that, there's a system out there that you can
- 53:33Speaker 1: get that's a lot of fun and the graphics are amazing.
- 53:36Speaker 1: And if you're in the universe also when you put
- 53:38Speaker 1: the Oculus Quest to shout out Oculus Quest two, that
- 53:44Speaker 1: is a lot of fun and and it's available at
- 53:46Speaker 1: stores still. So if you really are looking for an
- 53:49Speaker 1: escape this holiday weekend. This is not this is not
- 53:53Speaker 1: a ad, this is not a sponsorship. I'm gonna tell
- 53:56Speaker 1: you something right now. I'm gonna tell you something right now.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Out of all of the things I've played so far,
- 54:02Speaker 1: the Oculus Quest two is the best, all right, So
- 54:06Speaker 1: they should be our sponsor after this. And can I
- 54:08Speaker 1: read the textile just set me? Yeah? Yes, I think
- 54:11Speaker 1: they will send you free stuff. By the way, I
- 54:16Speaker 1: did something on Twitter. If you have one of these
- 54:18Speaker 1: Oculus things, I asked my followers, I just got this,
- 54:23Speaker 1: what should I do? Slash play And there's like hundreds
- 54:27Speaker 1: of replies of people. So if you're curious and you
- 54:30Speaker 1: get one, go find that tweet and you can read
- 54:32Speaker 1: a lot of people's cool recommendations on For all my
- 54:35Speaker 1: Star Wars fans out there, there's Star Wars h squadrons.
- 54:39Speaker 1: I played that on the Oculus Quest too. I had
- 54:41Speaker 1: to do a lot of connecting things to make it work.
- 54:44Speaker 1: But the new game has come out called Galaxy's Edge
- 54:48Speaker 1: Journey to Galaxy's Edge. It's an action adventure game. It's
- 54:53Speaker 1: got a bunch of really cool things that you can
- 54:55Speaker 1: do in it. What are you doing? You're trying not
- 54:58Speaker 1: to freak out about star Oh my god, will you
- 55:01Speaker 1: give this in a podcast? Oh my god, it's so good. Well,
- 55:05Speaker 1: I'm just saying. I'm saying, Zach, you want me to
- 55:07Speaker 1: come on the Star Wars podcast and just sort of
- 55:09Speaker 1: help start like season nine, I'll come on and help
- 55:11Speaker 1: start a full to get like Mark Hamill to do
- 55:16Speaker 1: the podcast. That would help out to get him in
- 55:20Speaker 1: starting right. He's a nice guy. I also deliver. My
- 55:23Speaker 1: My fanciest person I can deliver is Deborah Chow, who delivered,
- 55:26Speaker 1: who directed several Mandalorians. I offered that up. I don't
- 55:31Speaker 1: know why they're not doing it Donald's business. I'm gonna
- 55:34Speaker 1: do this like that. I'll do it like this. Here
- 55:35Speaker 1: we go, because I have no shame. Dave Feloni, if
- 55:39Speaker 1: you're out there and you're listening to fake doctor him,
- 55:43Speaker 1: I'm trying to do it through the podcast to generate
- 55:46Speaker 1: some positive And everybody is on Twitter. Is Dave Filoni
- 55:50Speaker 1: on Twitter? Yeah? Everybody everybody listening, we need you to
- 55:53Speaker 1: blow up at Dave Filoni or whatever he is. Let's
- 55:55Speaker 1: get his Dave Folonius, blow up Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. Well,
- 56:00Speaker 1: John Favre is probably too busy to be reading your tweets,
- 56:02Speaker 1: but Feloni might might have some time. Dude, you're so
- 56:06Speaker 1: fucking this up. You're making it seem like one person
- 56:08Speaker 1: is more important than the other and everyone John Favre
- 56:11Speaker 1: created the whole series, doesn't well are they co created it? Yes?
- 56:15Speaker 1: And man, all right, I don't know. You ruin everything
- 56:18Speaker 1: you run? He's ruining everything. He's ruining everything, Joel, he's
- 56:23Speaker 1: running everything. That's fine. We got it. We got it, Joel, Joel,
- 56:26Speaker 1: can you get me Dave Feloni's Twitter handle? So we
- 56:29Speaker 1: do this right. The most important thing is that we
- 56:31Speaker 1: figure out a way to start my Star Wars podcast.
- 56:36Speaker 1: I wouldn't have anything to say. You'd have to have
- 56:38Speaker 1: Henry come on and weigh in. I no, man, I
- 56:40Speaker 1: would be in the dark. I'm in the dark about that.
- 56:42Speaker 1: I'm in the dark about the game right now. If
- 56:46Speaker 1: you guys can tell me he should be playing it.
- 56:48Speaker 1: He lives with this game called Destiny. He's obsessed. Oh
- 56:51Speaker 1: hell yeah, yeah, I'm playing that right now. Listen, we're
- 56:55Speaker 1: gonna go to break, but first I'm gonna give you
- 56:57Speaker 1: Dave Feloni's Twitter handle and and you have to blow
- 57:00Speaker 1: him up. Everyone listening, who's on Twitter? It is? Everybody
- 57:05Speaker 1: is not underscore. I l O N I so Dave
- 57:13Speaker 1: underscore Foloni. Okay, everyone listening is on Twitter. Blow him
- 57:17Speaker 1: up and say will you please go on Donald Pazon
- 57:19Speaker 1: star Wars podcasts. No, he's gonna say yes. It would
- 57:24Speaker 1: be even better if you blow him up and you say,
- 57:26Speaker 1: will you please make Donald Faison the star of one
- 57:29Speaker 1: of your star wars. No, we're ta We're going to
- 57:33Speaker 1: start small, start small, all right, We're gonna bring when
- 57:39Speaker 1: we come back, we have a caller. We love you
- 57:41Speaker 1: right back. Yeah, here's the music and we're bad. Okay,
- 57:55Speaker 1: let him in Linus Linus is coming. Hey, what ah there? Man?
- 58:01Speaker 1: Give it up for liness? How do you say your
- 58:03Speaker 1: last name? Wait right wait? Oh yeah, it's sman, it's
- 58:11Speaker 1: give it up for liness. The first time you've is
- 58:16Speaker 1: that the first time you've said a German last name
- 58:18Speaker 1: in your Oprah voice? Donald? That is the first time
- 58:20Speaker 1: I've ever done it. But I'm happy for liness. Wuck,
- 58:24Speaker 1: it's not it's it's quite good as pubdon Are you
- 58:29Speaker 1: in Germany? I am, I'm in Germany. I'm in Hamburg. Germany.
- 58:33Speaker 1: What time is it there as we speak. It's eleven
- 58:36Speaker 1: in the evening. Okay, it's not that bad. Just coming
- 58:39Speaker 1: in from Thank you for staying up late. You you
- 58:41Speaker 1: are you? Are you guys on lockdown right now? Yes,
- 58:44Speaker 1: you're back on lockdown? Girl? Do you know I was
- 58:47Speaker 1: actually in I'm the only one of the six people
- 58:50Speaker 1: here that was in. I was in Hamburg a year
- 58:52Speaker 1: ago because my my daughter was performing there and I
- 58:55Speaker 1: actually went around that city a little bit. It's pretty
- 58:57Speaker 1: cool it. I liked it. Man, it's kind of very
- 59:02Speaker 1: cool there, and uh, the city itself seemed really bustly
- 59:05Speaker 1: at the time. I'm sure it's dead now. Oh yeah,
- 59:08Speaker 1: it's technology. It's good for partying though another way, that's
- 59:12Speaker 1: what I That's why I was so excited that my
- 59:14Speaker 1: daughter was spending time their liners. Thanks. You should definitely
- 59:19Speaker 1: stop when you do your tour through Europe. We're going to,
- 59:23Speaker 1: We're going to, We're going we should come there. Are
- 59:25Speaker 1: we big in Hamburg? Yeah? We're big in ham Are
- 59:27Speaker 1: you in Germany? You are huge? We're very big in Germany.
- 59:30Speaker 1: You didn't know that you knew that though, I don't know.
- 59:32Speaker 1: I'd just like to hear it every now and all right,
- 59:34Speaker 1: that way, we're definitely gonna be doing. Yeah, Bill, you're
- 59:37Speaker 1: gonna come. You're gonna come on the tour for some dates, Bill,
- 59:40Speaker 1: we can't. Yeah, yeah, jacking the whole tour. I got
- 59:42Speaker 1: a but I have to be treated like a spec
- 59:44Speaker 1: special guest or Yeah. I think when we do major cities,
- 59:47Speaker 1: like you know, like like Hamburg, Yeah, like I love
- 59:51Speaker 1: that one, it's just casually said like Hamburg, Yeah it happened.
- 59:55Speaker 1: When we do like Bumble Fuck, you're gonna come. But
- 59:58Speaker 1: when we do like New York, ham Berg, La Stod,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: you're gonna come. Dodd's not as big for me. So
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: why here's my question? We we because of Sarah Chalk.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: We put a lot of German on the show. He
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: did she speak it well? And be did those guys
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: we hired to be Germans speak it well? Because I
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: didn't think they spoke it well, and I thought she
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: spoke it quite well. Sara's doing well. But I think
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: you mean the guys from this from this season, right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: they would They don't even speak quite all. Yeah that
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: was in on Scrubs WICKI they said that that Sarah's
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: German was better than the actors playing Germans. Yeah, I
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: think Sarah's fluent. Yeah's amazing. She's has such a gift
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: for language. I mean, she didn't just flu and she
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: like has the perfect accent in both with both French
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: and German. Well, we made fun about Sarah a lot
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: because coming out of a young American woman, it's not
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: the most romantic, sexy language here and anyways in the
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: United States, since she would often say things in uh
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: in German that would uh sound aggressive and frightening to
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: us when she's not that personal at all. Yeah, that's
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: so aggressive. Yes, it's it's also because it's also be
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: cause Sarah's eyes would get so big when she talks
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: when she speaks German. Well, she gotta know what, she
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: just gets like it becomes cartoonishly big, and she's like,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: like she gets real aggressive. Well, she would also she
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: was also usually switching from French, which was so sexy
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: and slow, and then she'd like she was exaggerating for effect.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Let's be I know, but she's a comedic genius. Linus,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: thank you for coming on the show. Do you have
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: a question for Yes, legendary Bill Lawrence. We're so happy
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: you're here. Thanks for having me. Yes, I do have
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: a question. I was wondering, if you do a scene
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: which is really emotional, is it easy for you to
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: switch the buttons and maybe you've been very angry, or
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: maybe you've been very sad, is it easy for you
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: to come back and be the normal you again? Because
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: the background of this question is when you do fake laughing,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: I know, for instance, that you just get happy even
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: with just faking the laugh Is it the same when
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: you have a very sad scene. That's one that's a
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: That's a great question. It's a great question. I know
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: somebody who had. When I was younger, I would grew
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: up in theater, and so my parents used to make
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: me have to sit and watch and sometimes and I
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: would be backstage with a lot of the actors too,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: and so sometimes you would see things that you wouldn't
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: necessarily that you shouldn't as a as a kid, that
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: you shouldn't necessarily see. Like I was, I got to
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: see a person literally have a nervous breakdown because of
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: the character he was playing on stage, and the person
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: had to go through this emotional journey on stage, and
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: when he got off a stage, he couldn't turn it
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: off and he had a breakdown, and that's an emotional breakdown.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: For me, it's very difficult. Like I sometimes cry even
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: after they stay cut. I'll continue to cry unless I
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: gotta go, unless we gotta go again, and then I
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: try and stop it as hard as I can so
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I can get back to that moment again, because once
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I've released everything, it's hard for me to get back
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: to that moment again. That's me personally for me. Every actor,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: I think we would probably answer it the question differently. Line.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Some people can just turn on emotion really quickly. They're
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: like getting a second and they're there other actors. For me,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: if I was it would be hard for me to
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: be doing being super silly and then try and go
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: switch and do an emotional scene. If I know I've
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: got a big emotional scene, I kind of try and
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: spend the day or at least the time on set
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: in in that space of seriousness or emotion, just because
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: it's for me. It's almost impossible. If we're all joking
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: around and we're laughing and we're being like we are
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: on this podcast and they're like, okay, we're rolling here
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: we go. Uh, that's that's almost impossible. For me. But
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: there's there are actors who can who can, who can
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: do that and actually do it believably, But that's that's
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: never been me. Well, I can do it believably at
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: any time. I'm that good an actor and that what no,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: you know, I'll tell you some interesting that Zack McDonald
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: m leffort. So why I was, these guys are amazing performers,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: and you stumbled onto the thing that was very made
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: it very hard to sell the show in the first place,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: which was when I was off trying to sell Scrubs
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: and describing it to different networks. The sheer amount of
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: people that said network presence said, I'm not sure you
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: can switch from broad silly fantasies and people goofing around
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: to really deeply emotional scenes with people facing you know,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: death and and introspective and emotional pathos. And I was,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: you know, an idiot, and I joked about it and
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: would say like, yeah, I think you can. I think
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: you just turned down the lights and play an indie
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: song and and U. But the truth was it only
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: worked because the actors and actresses were able to do it.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: And if you're a fan of the show, I bet
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: you can remember a moment that every single of course
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: was Zack and Donald, but every actor and actress on
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: the cast having a time that they had to switch
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: gears immediately and be so emotional that you didn't usually
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: see that in the comedy. So it worked because of
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: the performers. I was talking to somebody randomly about this.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Even watching Neil Flynn say Sarah Shawk's name Elliott when
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: he tricked her into a date, you know, is such
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: an emotional moment, you know, and so real that even
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: he could do it, and the show would not have
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: worked if Donald, Zach, Sarah, Judy Ken, johnny Ce, Neil,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: everybody were able to switch on a din that also,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: and also one other thing, sometimes you're in his own dude.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Sometimes it's like any sports thing. Sometimes you come to
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: work and you're something's asked of you, like that to
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: laugh and then go into crying and then come back
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: into laughter again. And sometimes you can. Sometimes you can
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: tap into that, no problem, and then sometimes you can't.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: That's just how it is. That's that's a very tricky thing.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Is a director is that sometimes so as you know,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: as as everyone listening knows, a scene is comprised of
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: many different shots, and and an actor has an emotional scene,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: you have to know that if it's a big scene,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: they spent the better part of a day staying in
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: that space, in that headspace. Often, let's say we're in
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: the first shot. It's a very wide shot of the
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: room and they and the actor is emotional and they cry. Well,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: and now when I get to your close up and
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: it's seven o'clock at night, and we've been doing it
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: all day long and the actor's tears aren't flowing anymore, Well,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: none of the other stuff will work because of continuity. Won't.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: It won't it won't edit together. So it's it's a
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: it's a very tricky thing for both a director and
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: an actor because you don't just have to do it once.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: You have to sort of sustain it for the whole scene.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: If if the actor is indeed crying, they have to
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: do it every single time. Otherwise, you know, obviously this
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: moment where people swipe away their tears, and you can
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: use a shot like that. But but there's been times
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: where I've edited things and someone does something so beautiful
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: and they and they cried it was the master wide shot.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: And then you're going for close up and they kind
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: of like that that was what they had. They can't
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: they can't sort of muster it again. Well, you can't
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: use that beautiful wide shot and really anymore because it
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: won't It doesn't make any I have a question, how come,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: how come do you don't reverse engineer those scenes then
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: and do them backwards. You can do, but that's that's
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: a very good question. You at people say they're they're
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: a plus effort for the close stuff. The smart the
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: smart thing to do, if you're someone who knows you
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: only have so much gas in the tank is to
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: is to wait until the camera's tight on you, and
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: that will make the most difference. If you guys, remember
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: on scrubs, I would often cheat and I would cut
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: short the master before you got to the heavy emotional stuff,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: so you know you didn't have to do it. You
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: guys ever, remember going through that, I would just do, Hey,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: the master only works till here and here, so let's
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: stop it. Yeah, absolutely definitely. The other thing you can
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: do is is is roll two cameras, sometimes one tight
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: and one wide. But but it's tricky and of course,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: worst case scenario. By the way, we usually the worst
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: case scenario is there's a there's literally a mental thing.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: They blow in your eyes and it makes them tear.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: But now, my girlfriend I were watching TV and we
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: saw the first, our first CGI tier. We both stopped
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: and we were like, there's no way that's a real
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: tier because it was so perfectly timed and beautiful and
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: rolling down a cheek and really impossible. And I was
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: just on a job that has a lot of special
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: effects on it. And I turned to the guy, go
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: by the way, I think I just saw my first
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: CGI tier going down a cheek. Is that a thing now?
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: And he's like, oh, yeah, we're out and loss of tears.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: I that Hey, whas did you ask? Because you're a performer.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: It's an interesting question. No, I just I was just wondering.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: I'm just a student. Okay, cool question. What do you
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: do out in Hamburg? My friend? Yeah, I'm as study
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: for business administration? Okay, So is that is that where
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: you're from? Are you from? Hamburger? Is just where you
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: go to Universe? I'm from Bill. This is not your
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: audition to lead the podcast, okay, j Jack, I'm trying
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: to hear you. Someone all the way and is so
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: very aproposed everybody knows. As I said that Zach got
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: tangled up in his heart that almost collapsed. Zach had
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: a beautiful JD moment and got tangled in his own
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: headset cord. All right, line is it's time for everyone
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: on our favorite moment in the podcast, Ready Daniel with
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: the queue, it's time to fix How can we help you?
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: All the way from all the way from Hollywood to Hamburg,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: We're gonna send this fix it. So it's kind of
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: have you. Me and my long term girlfriend, we just
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: broke up and it was the first real love for
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: both of us, so I think something really special, and
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: I should mention that we just grew apart. There was
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: no bad blood at all. I wish you the best,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: but still it's quite hard. Of course, my friends and
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: my family they try to help me as good as
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: they can because the pandemic is, yeah, affecting all of us.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: But I do still feel a little bit lost, if
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: you can say that right now, because you can't make
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: any big plans at all. You can't plan any vacations
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: or go to the cinema or the theaters at the moment.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: So it's quite a rough time and I would like
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: to ask for an advice what I should do or
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: how you get over your first real love of heart break.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna go first. I'm gonna go first. The first
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: thing I can tell you that I find is the
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: most helpful thing, and not even related to your breakup,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: but to life right now, is that you are not alone.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Everybody is going through as we said on the podcast,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: as my mom when we used to tell me when
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: I was a kid, if if you weren't feeling these feelings,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: there'd be something wrong with you. This is such a
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: weird time, and so many people are break up aside
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: are dealing with how do I get over this this melancholia?
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: How do I can't go to the movies, I can't
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: go hug my parents like so, I think that there's
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: there's comfort in knowing that you're that you're not alone.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: So many people are are going through this, and and
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: of course a breakup makes it so much worse. I
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: think a lot of people I've i've I've read a
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: lot of people are are going through, you know, relationship problems.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Because of course it's so unnatural. All of a sudden,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: we're forced to quarantine, and there's everyone's stressed and so
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: we can all give you our best tips on on
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: on getting over lost love. I think you know, no
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: matter what anyone has ever told me in a breakup,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: time has has been the only thing. And you're gonna
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: hear that over and again. It doesn't really help. But
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: but know that it that it does. You will look
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: back when you're in when you're in your new relationship
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: and you're newly excited and giddy and feeling so happy,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: you'll look back and go, oh my god, I can't
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: believe this one's even better. I can't believe that I'm
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: that I you know, thank thank god that ended, because
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: even though it was sad at the time, it led
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: me to this person who's so much better. So I
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: know that that's that's that's that doesn't hurt help right now,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: But I think that's that's something you should at least
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: have in your brain now. There's a reason that all
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: almost every a giant percentage of music is written about
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: this topic is because it's it hurts so bad and
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: and was it gonna say, Zach, it's such a good point,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: by the way, is part of the thing that's gonna
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: make this fun is at the end and you don't
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: have to do it out loud. You're gonna have to
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: email us. You're gonna have to say whose advice was
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: the best. So it's a kind of Mine's probably only
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: build Lawrence, the most competitive mofo in the world, will
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: turn giving lineus advice into a front. Do you not
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: see Line is smiling. He's enjoying this. Go ahead, boss,
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: fucking make it better? All right? So well, it don't
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: feel weird about knowing that my advice is gonna be
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: the best the uh No, Like zach'son, something's very smart,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: which is hard for me to say. Every show I've
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: ever written has constant episodes about lost love and heartbreak
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: because it's so universal and because it's the building block
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: for who we are. Right, So I will tell you
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: you know these guys said, it is true. It's all
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: learning experience. It will make you better and stronger for
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: the next relationship you enter in. But I'm going to
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: say to you the one thing that a friend of
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: mine who's a shrink said to me recently, which is
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: just remember, because of where we are is a quarantine
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: and a pandemic, that none of this is a real
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: playing field. None of this is real in terms of
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: loneliness amplified by a thousand, depression amplified by a thousand,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: hopelessness amplified by a thousand. So the one piece of
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: advice I'd give you, I'm a type of person that
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: I need to have something to look forward to. And
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: I call the real j D all the time to
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: ask about where we are in the pandemic. And he's
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: a guy that we all know, and he said, there's
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: three vaccines, all with over ninety percent efficacy, all that
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: are coming down the pipe. So even if you're a pessimist,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: you're six months away from being in a real environment
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: where none of these feelings will be amplified by a thousand.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: So all I would tell you is look for that
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: light at the end of the tunnel man, and the
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: stuff will all seem a lot clear. But it sucks.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry, it sucks. And you know what, the thing
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: you can do? What can you do proactively? Reach out
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: to friends. Don't don't become a hermit that's like in
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: their fetal position in your bed. Like reach out to
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: your friends, face time with your friends, going on national podcasts,
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: sometimes going on international podcast is a huge help. I
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: agree with Bill I like to do. Give myself things
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: to look forward to, even if it's little things like
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: like my girlfriend and I'll be like tonight, we're getting
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: sushi and we're gonna eat a tubbot ice cream. Like
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: even if it's like stupid you and your girlfriend do that.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Don't be a dick, I'm saying he can do. I
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: mean you just be a little bit sensitive man. You're
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: talking about you. Yeah, I mean that's the type of
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: thing that somebody that gives the third best advice says,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: right wild, you know when you know that, you know that,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: you know when you know when Homer squeezes Bart's neck.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: That's what I lions. Give your little give yourself things
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: that are even if they're small, that you know you
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: look forward to, and don't watch there's so much sad
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: shit on TV, like we I got lost in a
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: true crime wormhole, watching like all this true crime and
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: dark shit. Find stuff that's that's that's funny and that
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: will cheer you up. Maybe maybe something British, maybe something
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: with like an internet big hits very sure, but Scrubs
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: or or I haven't gotten the ship squeak, but people
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: love that, like something that just lift your spirits and
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: make you laugh even if you're down. Also the Mandalorian
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: or the Mandalorian, sure, the Mandalorian journal. When I'm down,
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: journaling helps me just like like we you've heard me
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: say this before, Like in college, we called it a
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: brain drain, and we just write, just without taking the
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: pen off the paper everything you're thinking, like in this
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: and this and this, and even if a sentence is
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: like and I don't know what to write now, I
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: don't know what to write now, but then you just
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: keep writing and do that for like five minutes a minimum.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: And I will tell you alone, I've seen except Daniel,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: who I'm just getting to know, I've seen the other
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: two guys, both heartbroken at different states, and I can't
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: even revisit it because they're both so happy where they
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: are now. And I promise you that they were both
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: as heartbroken as you yourself are. Now. That's the best.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Best By the way, you did win, Bill, you did,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: you did win. That's a great point. This man has
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: helped me through Ben Donald, through bad breakups in our
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: life when we were just where you're at, Dude, I
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: got divorced while we were making scrubs, and now we're
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: now we're both in relationships that we've never been happier.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: So one of the best parties I was ever at
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Linas and he'll tell you about it when he's on
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: Here was John McGinley announced to everybody on Scrubs at
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: the beginning that he would never ever, ever, ever ever
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: be in a committed relationship and get married ever again.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: And so I met him ten thousand dollars in front
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: of everybody that he would be married again before the
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: end of the show. And I didn't take the money
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: from him, but I used it to pay for his
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: engagement party. It could not have been more follow Yeah, yeah,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: all right, so you so you're welcome. So you're welcome.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: You're welcome in the meantime. In the meantime, you know,
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: all you can do is you can go flirt, flirt
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: on the dating apps and on slide into them dms.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: You can by wait, We'll let you take a screen
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: shot right now and you can slide into the dms
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: with this picture and say, hey, I listen this I
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: was fake This could be this could be your slide
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: into the DM flex I was on Fake Doctor's Real Friends.
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: Just grab my fallow real quick, yeh. Wait, oh, has
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: just texted me Bill, Donald Zach as the order of
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: whose advice is. That's right, that's actually what I'm all right, Lions,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: you're ready for your screenshot? Are you guys ready? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: thank you? All right, So that's gonna help you. You're
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: gonna slide into your into the Girls dms with that
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: and say, hey, you may have heard me on the
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: internationally successful podcast. Make sure you mentioned brown Bearry. It
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: always works out, young people all say, Lions, I bet you,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Zack and Donald do this too, even though we can't
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: guarantee it because it's crazy. But if you find us
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: on Twitter and say, hey, it's lineus. I'm still on
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: a shitty mood, we'll say something to make you up. Yeah,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: we do that. Okay, I don't forget. I don't forget.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: When you listen to this podcast, you'll know what it means.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: But we also need you to tweet at Dave Felony
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: to make sure that he comes on Donald's Star Wars podcast.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: All right, dad, you asked to asked Dave Felony to
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: put me in the in the show. I'm starting. One
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: of the most successful TV producers. Right here, he's telling
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: you how to fucking do it. Okay, I'm sorry, sorry,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: sorry lie watch line wants to say. Can I say
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: something really quick? I just want to thank all of you,
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: like Dan, Joel and of course the three of us
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: for doing the podcast and doing the TV show. It
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: was our family Sunday evening tradition. My book post. This
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: is on mine and my parents. We always watch Scrubs altogether,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: and it's just oh favory two we shoul who do you?
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Thank you? Thank you allocated. Hey man, that means more
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: to me than you know. Dude, that's really cool. Thank
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: you so much. And I would like to give a
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: shout out to my older sisters. She's listening to this
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: one as well, but she doesn't know that I'm on today.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: Be surprised you. And to my good friend Julian. He's
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: also a huge Scrubs fan and we always do it.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: We're always quoting from scrouts and using the show for
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: inside jokes. So I want to know, Line's right off
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: the top of your head, without giving too much thought,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: what's one of your favorite quotes? I know what it is.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: I can't. I know what it is. Line is because
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: of Julian. Is there a manateee under there? I think
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: is there some sort of underground tunnel system? I think
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: I saw a manatee. Was his name Julian? I don't know.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: We didn't exchange pleasantries. That's Julian alright, Thanks so many,
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: Thank you guys, Thanksgiving for you to thank Thanks very much.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: Hamburg is a rock star city. It was so fun there.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: The food was great. I feel him though, because I'm
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: going through a breakup during quarantine and COVID and everyone. No.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: I know, I know he's going to be fine, dude,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: but you know we've all been there. Imagine doing it
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: during during I mean, I'm sure a lot of people
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: listening are going through it during quarantine, a breakup, and
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: it's like a double punch of the faith. Hey, I
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: got another I got another good uh news break for
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: you because then you two can decide. So everybody's really busy.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: A lot of charities have nicely asked if and everybody's
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: been doing different charitable stuff. I think is cool and awesome,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: but a couple of charities nicely asked if we would
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: ever do it scrubs table read. You guys want me
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: to try and rally the troops and we'll do it. Sure,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: let's do it. What what what script would we read?
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: I don't know. Look, I do know it has to
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: be one with my wife in it, or I'm not
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: going to be allowed to do it. Oh, Bill, while
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: we have you on the spot, Yeah, can you help
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: us get Mike Fox for one of his episodes? Uh? Yeah,
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: you know what I mean. He's promoting a book. Tell
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: him this has a huge audience and will promote his book.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Let me email Mike today. He's such a man, He's
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: such a lovely dude. And I had to do some
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: stuff for his book, you know, just because I'm vet.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: Some stuff because a couple of chapters on our Spin
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: City Days. And by the way, this new book has
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: a couple of chapters on his Scrubs guest appear. I mean, well,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: he's got two episodes coming up, it's three twelve and
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: three thirteen, and he would love to have him. If
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: you can pull any strings, if, if, if, if I
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: make it happen, I expect I want to deal right now.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: You say, Mike, welcome to our and Bill's podcast. Even
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: if I'm not on it. You got it, you got it,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: I'll say, I'll literally to get Mike Fox, I would
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: say whatever you want me to say. It would be
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: such an honor and and I know we just semi
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: convenient because he's promoting a book and this has an
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: enormous audience. That is, he's a he's a big look.
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: There's it's weird to say we're like this, we're not,
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: you know, too self involved, and which we say, like
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: an act I don't, but I'm too, But it's I
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: didn't mean anything that I said, but the he's an
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: actor that I truly think is an American icon and
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: a hero for all the stuff he's been doing. Such
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: a great dude. So I mean, we would have to
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: make it like a two hour episode because we would
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: just be like, fuck scrubs, dude, let's just talk about
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: every single thing. We would talk. I would talk about
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: Back to the Future for like an hour and a half.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: I talk about how Eric Stultz had the freaking you know,
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: I mean, I would he by the way, all right
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: right now, me doing to me saying that right now,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: He's probably like, I'm not going on the show, so
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: let me not. I'm not. I wouldn't do that. I
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: wouldn't do that. I imagine this because you guys went
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: through it. The only way he could do Back to
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: the Future was to shoot it concurrently with Family Ties,
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: So he would shoot back to the Future at night
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: and Family Ties during the day, which is banana pa
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: what about? Yes, but he but he he did most
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: of the season from what I remember, he did most
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: of the season for Family Ties because he was the
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: original choice that Zamkis wanted for Back to the Future,
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: but he couldn't do it because he was doing Family Ties.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: And then when Stultz fell out at the when Stultz
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: fell out and they knew they were getting him back,
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: it was because of your old mentor Gary goldberga happening.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: He was friends with those guys there. Yeah, all right,
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: well Bill, will you please try it? Are you writing
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: it on a posted because you're gonna I'm just gonna
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: do it. I'm just gonna do it and I'll have
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: it all right? Yeah, Okay? Are you fake writing it
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: on a posted? For all I know you're fake writing it?
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: Are you fake writing right now? No? I just wrote
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: Mike Fox email IM an email anyways, man, I miss
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: that guy. Thank you. All right, let's let's finish the
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: app because we've gone an hour and a half. And
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: we have Okay, I just want to stay shout out
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Mike Starr, who was on this who was in this episode.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: He was the patient that Johnny had. When I first
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: got Clueless, me and Justin Walker were flying to LA
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: and we were in first class and I just remember
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: waking up and Mike Starr was handing the bagels. And
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: he was one of the first people I met before
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: I got to Hollywood. We never, you know, we talked
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: about hanging out because we were going to do the
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: movie Clueless, and somehow Justin had who played Christian in
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: the movie, had struck up a conversation with him and
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: told him that we were in this television show. So
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: I woke up and he's like, hey, kid, do you
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: want a bagel? And I was like, absolutely, I want
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: a bagel. Holy shit, you're the guy from Dumb and Dummer,
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: you know what I mean? And I don't even think yeah,
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: Dumb and Dummer had come out already, so I I, uh, yeah,
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: he's one of the best. He's been in so many things,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: and he's such a talented actor, and I forgot that
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: he was on Scrubs and so I just want to
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: give him a big shout out and a Hello Mike
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: Star because it was a pleasure to see you on Scrubs.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: And I don't know why, but you guys made me
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: watch this episode, and any episode that has Sam Lloyd
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: being sweet in it both makes me sad and miss him.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: He was so sweet in this episode. I know, I know,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: I didn't. Yeah, yeah, he was so funny in this episode.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: So we have the thirty eight year old virgin and
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: and we talked about that a bit, but it's funny
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: when Sarah, Sarah is so fucking funny in this episode.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: She goes, he goes, she goes, I'm a virgin, and
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: Sarah goes, me too. Sorry. That's a reflex from college
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: when I used to play tambourine in a Christian Rocks.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: The writing, the writing and delivery of Elliott and this
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: episode is so fucking funny. Then she does her O face.
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: We got a glimpse of what Elliott looks like when
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: she's having an orgasm. And she said the three of
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: three people in her high school because that picture got out,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: they posed like that for their you book photos. Man,
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: I love watching I literally, Sarah's so funny. Don't you
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: guys love that? To watch this show again when for me,
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: I'm old enough to have forgotten it now it's so funny.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Of course we don't remember it all. And I and
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Donald and I've said multiple times that we that we
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: knew Sarah was funny in particular when we were doing it,
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: but in watching it back this many years later, I'm
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: I just am really appreciating how fucking hilarious of a
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: comedic actors she is. Not just that, not just that,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: but Bill, I'm gonna be you know, the story Johnny
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: C's storyline is so necessary. Like I used to think
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: that Zach, Sarah and I that's the go to. Johnny's
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: the go to man. Johnny's life is my life now
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: pretty much, you know what I mean. Like everything that
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: Johnny goes through in this episode, Cox goes through in
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: this series like I'm going through now, and so I
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: relate to his character more than I relate to the
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: character I played on the show. That's the crazy thing. Man,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: It's like life has changed so much, you know, So
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: when rewatching it now, it's like I was so caught
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: up in what we were doing because I thought we
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: were to hip kids and stuff like that. Johnny's story
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: is really it really does carry a lot. That's so
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: sad for me is that I identify with Ken. Sometimes
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: it's hard because it's hard to be a boss. In
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: my favorite episodes involving Ken Jenkins, where when he made
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: you know that it's hard to be a boss and
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: that he's probably a sweet guy underneath all that crap.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: You know, was it like that when you were writing
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: it or is it like that now? As you like
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: that now? Man? When I look at you know, I'm like, man,
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: I'm an old, crusty dude. People sometimes think is a
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: you know, closed off control freak at work, and I'm like,
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: it's tough to be a boss. Sometimes it is. Woe
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: is me whatever. I laughed out loud at powerful tiny fists,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: Powerful tiny fists. Yes, it's like powerful tiny fists. Yeah,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: come back from a fantasy when Randall has punched me
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: in the nuts for a second time. I really liked
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: that song spreading around and saving ted. That was great. Yeah,
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: I was. I was a little upset that Kelso was
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: bummed out by it. Yeah, that kind of struck me
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: when he called my chicken. Yeah, I wrote down that
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: Kelso is kind of evil. Well, the Cavalier attitude towards that.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: You know, it's our favorite jokes to write, and I
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: thought that was one that was a mistake where one
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: that walked that line between inappropriate and okay and ted
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: was obviously somebody depressed. And maybe I'm hypersensitive to it now,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: like but all I love the joke. And if you
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: guys remember our favorite joke on h was in Sam's briefcase.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: All he had was his briefcase. All he had was
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: a a button with a happy face and a loaded
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: revolver and ones in case I get sad and the
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: others in case I get real sad. But that is
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: it's clever enough and fucking the lot is that in
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: the show. I didn't know. I don't think. I don't
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: think we would. You would likely do some of these
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: more cavalier suicide jokes today. I mean Kelso we wanted
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: to have him have a little bit of heart. No,
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: I would not call him a chicken for not jumper. Yeah,
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: we it was the joke guy. Who look, you guys
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: probably do this with your performances. When I watched these shows,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: the painful parties you watch at the things that you
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: would never do now, I would make a lot of stuff. Yeah,
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: all right, let's switch topics. J C M. Johnny c
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: McGinley is fucking ripped in the gym. I mean, I
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: know he listens while he's working out. So Johnny, keep going. Man,
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: you look like a stud in this episode. John look beefy.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: That's a that's you know what he knows. You don't
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: need to make him feel better about it. Donald, you go,
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: I don't disdain you, idain you. That's funny. That's a
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: funny T shirt. Scott Rabbidou in the background, now a
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: funny my stand in. Scott Rabbidou is in the background
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: of the gym. Bill, am I correct in that? You
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: you you had these set dressers, production designers build the
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: gym set and then told him to leave it up
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: so we would have a gym. Yeah, and we moved down.
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: It's a way to get a gym for the because
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: we lived in that stupid hospital for the brew staff,
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: actors whatever. We all would any previous any previous gym
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: scenes were in a small room. This was the first
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: time Bill said, no, let's move the gym to the
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: basement and make it big and then also leave all
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: the shit in there. Yeah, let's charge Disney for cleaning
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: up the basement, putting a ton of gym equipment in there,
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: maybe a stereo system of some kind, and then say,
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: we plan to use that set a lot, and then
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: we can all exercise in between launch breaks and when
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: we're sitting around doing I wouldn't even work out there
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: when we were when we were dark, when we weren't working,
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: I would come. I would. It was the closest. It
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: was the closest nice gym to me. I would just
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: it's one of the best completely free gyms. And Wells angels. Yeah,
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: the best free gym that you'll be alone in in
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: Los Angeles. Todd with his giant green balls and the
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: gym was funny. Sure. I think that was a Maschio
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: ad lib once he saw the props that were available
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: to it. So moving in is a big topic in
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: this episode. Jad's very worried that Danny's slow. Everyone's teasing him,
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: and he's also concerned that she's slowly going to try
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: and move in. That's always weird, right when you're in
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: a relationship and you're kind of dancing around the They
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: start with a toothbrush and then there's a few things
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: and then there's the conversation like, well why am I
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: paying rent? It's like, you know, it was that a
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: little dance. I didn't. I had a completely different experience
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: than you had, obviously when it comes to moving in.
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: I was tricked by my wife. My wife told me.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: My wife told me she was never gonna get married.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: She didn't want to get married, and she didn't want
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: to have kids, and she was an independent woman and
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: she would always live on her own. And I was like,
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: oh shit, well bet come, that's start dating. That's the
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: type of woman I want a date, right, I like,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: it is a true story. You guys both know that
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: my wife beats me in every couple battle, every mental battle,
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: every you know, she decides what I do. She didn't
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: charge everything in my life. The only victory I ever
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: had was when I left New York because you know,
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: I fell in love with her and I was running
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: the show in New York Spin City and I realized
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: and she had to work. She was in La, you know,
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: on the Juke Carrey show. I'm like, man, if I
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: don't move to LA, you can't do that long distance thing.
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: For years. I can't. You know, this relations and ship's
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: gonna end. So I moved to LA. I said, I'm
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: moving back to LA and Christa said, you know, you're
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: not moving in with me? And I'm like, oh, cool, whatever.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: And when I came and visited once, she showed me
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: this cool house she was building up in Nichols Canyon.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: I remember going, oh, this is gonna be a perfect
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: place for me to live. So but she's like, you're
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: not moving in with me? And then I told her,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I don't want to. I'm gonna rent
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: kind of like a party place at the beach in Malibu.
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: And she's like, by yourself, you know. I'm like, no,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it with Rob mas There's a friend
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: of mine. Gets better. And then I saw Rob Mashio
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: like two nights after that, I go, hey, I told
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: Christa Miller, this woman i'm dating that you and I
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: are getting when I moved back to LA, that you
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: and I are getting a house on the beach and Malibu,
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: that I'm paying for it, but we're gonna live together
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: and have lots of parties. He goes, are we I
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: said no, no, as if we're not at all, But
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: you have to know that we are in case you
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: see her and uh. And then when I got to La,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: she's like, you shouldn't have a party house at the beach.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: She should just crash here in my new house. I
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: was like, all right, my only victory is that the
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: house we did the table read at. That's the house
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: you did the table read at. That's my only victory
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: as an adult male with my now wife of twenty something.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: I built that house. Yeah, I thought I had one
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: when my wife had said that to me, that she
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: didn't want to have kids or getting married or lived together.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: And she was an independent woman. But I found myself
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: begging her. Yeah, two years later, please just let me
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: just live. Let's just live together. Why can't we live together?
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: I don't understand why you're not living here? Like she
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: played me like a fiddle. Yeah, man, you're not. By
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: the way, when Chris is on here again, and she
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: will be, I'm sure she'll tell you the reality of
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: the story I told and why it was all plotted
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: and planned. Yeah, Oh, she played you like it. Oh
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: got it? You know, I'm sure I feel like my
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: only victory, don't get me wrong. When we lived there,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: I was like, hey, I have a favorite ouch nope,
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: I have a favorite chair. Like what about this fork?
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: Did I bring this fork to our new house? Now?
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: Those forks don't work? Like all right. That's always funny too,
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: when you when when you move in with your girl
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: or your guy, and all of a sudden, if you're
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: the person who's house it is, and they start going,
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: so what's the deal with that painting? And you're like
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: that that master that masterpiece? Yeah? So like when where
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: else could that go? You're like, what something that can go?
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Like in your office? If you have an office? Could
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: I go there? What? Yeah? That's always tough. I was, Yeah,
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: I was still building renovating my house when Florence and
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: I started dating, and and she was so tactfully way
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: in on things. I mean, granted she was she was
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: clearly new. It was a sensitive thing. And she'd be like,
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: is that the tile for the for the bathroom. I'd
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, why you don't like it?
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: She no, no, no, no, it's great, great right right,
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: so passive aggressive. I moved in a Chris's house and
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: we got engaged like seven months later, It's true story.
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: And as a gift, she turned an extra room in
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: that house into an office for me for about two months,
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: and then she's like, I'm pregnant, and the very same
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: workers that had gone in and put office stuff in
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: there came in sixty days later and ripped it out
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: and turned it into a nursery. Did you write scrubs
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: in that office? I didn't. I didn't have it long enough. Man.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: It reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Brewster's Millions.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: Great movie Millions. That movie should be remade. But I
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: don't know if you. I mean John knutcha prior you
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: can't touch him to Gold. I love. One of the
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: funniest parts I love about it is that he's trying
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: to waste money and he keeps renovating his office with
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: the keep redoing it and redoing it and redoing it
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: because he's just like, this is the best way to
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: waste money. And then finally, finally, in the end, sorry
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: mild spoiler, yeah, he goes, She goes, She goes, is
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: this it? Have I finally achieved your dream? He goes,
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: this is it? This is a room I could die
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: in And she exhales and she goes, all right, boys,
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: take it all away, because like twenty guys given and
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: Take Everything Away Away. Such a great movie. Great movie.
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: You should watch that if you haven't. And do you
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: need a certified check? Do you need a receipt? That's
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: that last. I love Richard Pryor movies. The Toy was
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: Another favorite movie of mine was a Kid That You Touched.
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: That movie has a lot of social By the way,
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: this is part of for me old enough, but part

- 1:38:53Speaker 1: has a toy black man living in his house. I'm
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: saying he has a wealthy father, that's all. But it's
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: his father and that movie doesn't take care of him. Though, okay,
