- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Everyone needs to sell something sometimes, no matter what you're
- 0:44in. You might not be a professional
- 0:45salesperson, but whether you're selling an idea to someone or
- 0:50that you're trying to influence someone to do something that you
- 0:52want them to do, we're all selling to some extent.
- 0:55Now. It's Adam here.
- 0:57And in this session I was actually working with someone
- 0:59that was selling financial products, so things like
- 1:01insurance and investment, two people and they had a certain
- 1:05responsibility of finding prospects and pitching to them
- 1:09and converting. And they felt that was a
- 1:12pressure situation, even though it was their dream role.
- 1:16They tried really hard to get this role.
- 1:18They had it and now it felt more like a chore and a challenge and
- 1:24a pressure. And that can happen in lots of
- 1:26cells environments. Lots of cells, environments have
- 1:29targets and they have expectations and there is a
- 1:32culture of you have to hit your targets and deliver certain KPIs
- 1:37and that can feel like pressure. But interestingly, the people
- 1:40that do the best at sales tend to have certain things in
- 1:44common. They tend to believe what
- 1:46they're doing is valuable for their clients.
- 1:49They tend to treat it like a bit of a fun game rather than
- 1:52drudgery. And also they believe in their
- 1:55own ability to do well and get better.
- 1:58And when these things are there, then those people that are
- 2:01having fun doing what they're doing are always going to
- 2:04outperform those people that it's just a job and they're just
- 2:08turning up to make money. If money is the byproduct of
- 2:11creating value for people, you're going to make way more
- 2:13money than if the objective is to take clients money, if that
- 2:17makes sense. So if you feel pressure when
- 2:20selling in any situation, or if you feel it's a bit stressful
- 2:24and daunting, you might get some value from this.
- 2:27Because the essence of it is to make selling light and fun and
- 2:32enjoyable and playful, rather than surgery, which can make it
- 2:37harder to actually sell because you wouldn't like to be sold to.
- 2:41If someone is deadly serious and they look jaded and bored or
- 2:45resentful of their work. If you meet someone who's
- 2:48genuinely passionate about what they do, they seem credible,
- 2:52knowledgeable, and that comes through in their language, it
- 2:55doesn't seem like they're just doing a job.
- 2:57You're going to respond more positively to them than you
- 3:01would do to that person that is just there to sell a product.
- 3:05And if that's how you would respond as a potential buyer, it
- 3:09also means that that's the ideal way to be if you are a seller.
- 3:14And to some extent, hopefully that comes across when I'm
- 3:17talking. You know, I don't need to do
- 3:20this. I do it from place of being
- 3:22passionate about hypnotherapy, but also I like having a podcast
- 3:27and sharing my hypnosis with the world.
- 3:29And yeah, some people will listen to my stuff and think I
- 3:32want to work with that person. But hopefully it doesn't feel
- 3:35too salesy. And hopefully it doesn't feel
- 3:38too salesy because I'm genuinely enthusiastic about what I do.
- 3:41But. Equally, the balance is.
- 3:44To give people an opportunity to work with me if they think I'm
- 3:47the right person. So every now and then I'll say
- 3:49something like there's a link in the description where someone
- 3:52could book a free consultation call.
- 3:54That's not hard selling, that's not manipulative selling.
- 3:57That's waving a little bit of a carrot for those people that
- 4:00might want to work with me to say here's how you can do it.
- 4:03And hopefully that comes across that way rather than being too
- 4:07cheesy and salesy. So if that's of interest, do
- 4:10that. And if it isn't?
- 4:11But don't worry, you can still get the hypnosis completely for
- 4:14free just by listening to this. And if you want versions without
- 4:18intro and explanation, I've got a very low cost subscription
- 4:22which means you get all of the sessions just a pure hypnosis,
- 4:25nothing else. If that's of interest, check
- 4:27those out. But if you want to sell better
- 4:29and have more fun, then this is the session for you.
- 4:32So find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be
- 4:34distracted or disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:42I'd like to go to the. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 5:26you breathe in, breathe in a wonderful, slow, long, relaxing
- 5:32breath. And as you exhale, feel that
- 5:40wonderful feeling of release, as if any tension, stress and
- 5:48pressure is starting to leave your body in that outward
- 5:57breath, where each breath takes you deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 6:12I wonder if you can scan your body for any clues of tension,
- 6:20maybe in your jaw, your neck or your shoulders, your arms or
- 6:26your legs. And I want you to get a sense of
- 6:30what it would feel like if every time you breathe out, you're
- 6:38releasing a bit more of that tension, stress or pressure.
- 6:48And every time you breathe in, I want you to imagine you're
- 6:54thawing something deep within. Because I think there's a part
- 7:01within you, maybe apart from your childhood, that loves to
- 7:09have fun, to feel playful, to feel joy.
- 7:17And sometimes all of the stress and pressure can freeze that
- 7:23part that likes to smile and play and connect.
- 7:29So imagine breathing in a warm colour that starts to melt away,
- 7:37that frozen part that likes to play and have fun.
- 7:43And as you exhale, feel the serious pressure leaving your
- 7:50body, meaning every time you breathe in, you're feeling more
- 7:59joyful and relaxed. And every time you exhale, it's
- 8:07like a release valve of stress and pressure and tension.
- 8:13Each breath takes you deeper and deeper, relaxed now.
- 8:23And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 8:30And the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe.
- 8:35As your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 8:43And I wonder if you could imagine walking through a park
- 8:51on a sunny day, maybe a spring day or a summer's day.
- 9:00And I wonder if you can connect to that feeling of calm
- 9:05tranquility. A park in a city is like an
- 9:12Oasis in the desert, surrounded by the hustle and bustle.
- 9:19There is an Oasis of calm tranquility.
- 9:25And you can connect to that calm tranquility now.
- 9:35You can appreciate the smell of a flower, the green leaves of a
- 9:44tree, perhaps the sound of distant traffic feeling calm and
- 9:58relaxing just like the waves of a lake, or a wave of the sea
- 10:07breaking on the shore. And right here in this park,
- 10:13there's nowhere you need to go and nothing you need to do.
- 10:19No targets to here. Just this moment and the simple
- 10:25act of breathing in and releasing.
- 10:31And as you notice your breath, you may begin to realize that
- 10:38effort isn't even required for breathing to happen.
- 10:44It just happens. And in the same way, just allow
- 10:55your shoulders and neck to relax, your jaw to loosen, your
- 11:01forehead to release any tension, and with each outward breath,
- 11:11release that pressure you've been carrying the pressure to
- 11:16perform, the pressure to prove the pressure to make things
- 11:24happen. Because right now you get to
- 11:31rest your mind. You get to rest your thoughts,
- 11:37and just allow your imagination to be open to new ways of
- 11:44thinking. And I want you to imagine
- 11:49somewhere in that park is a door, but not connected to a
- 11:56building, just a door. And as I countdown from 5 to 1,
- 12:01you will imagine opening that door, walking through and
- 12:07stepping into a space that feels familiar, that feels safe, that
- 12:13feels light. It might even feel like stepping
- 12:19into a game. But for now, stand in front of
- 12:24the door and five, put your hand on the handle, 4 turn the
- 12:30handle, three, open the door, two, walk through the door and
- 12:38one close the door behind you and feel like you're in a world
- 12:47of play. An open space, no clock ticking,
- 12:54no one watching or judging. Just you and possibility.
- 13:05And in this world, nothing bad happens if you just explore and
- 13:13you can talk to people, ask questions, and discover what
- 13:20they need. Maybe you notice something
- 13:25important here. You're not trying to win, you're
- 13:33simply playing. And because you're playing,
- 13:40you're relaxed, curious, engaged.
- 13:47And in that relaxed state, you perform better without trying
- 13:54to. And as you stand in this space,
- 14:02connect to something subtle but powerful.
- 14:09But connecting with people isn't something you have to do.
- 14:15This is something you get to do. You get to talk to people, you
- 14:23get to learn about their world, you get to understand their
- 14:31life, what's valuable, the future they aspire to have.
- 14:40And what if that distinction alone, moving from obligation to
- 14:47opportunity, flips a switch in your mind, creates a lightness
- 14:56in your body? Because when something is
- 15:02chosen, it feels different than when it's forced.
- 15:13In this game, every conversation and interaction could have to
- 15:21open a doorway to a new level, and some levels are short and
- 15:29some are longer and some unlock new paths later on.
- 15:36But in this world there is no failure, only a feedback loop.
- 15:44You either win or you learn. You don't need to carry the
- 15:51result of anyone interaction into the next interaction,
- 16:00because each conversation, exchange, or interaction stands
- 16:06alone, fresh, clean, unburdened. And what if, because you're
- 16:17enjoying the game itself, you stay in it longer, you stay
- 16:25sharper, it feels like fun, and you come to a conclusion?
- 16:35That the people. Who have the most fun outperform
- 16:40those who feel stressed and pressured?
- 16:48And what if this game starts to feel like interactions with
- 16:54prospects, previous clients? Just notice how the people you
- 17:00meet in this game are people. They're people 1st, and they may
- 17:09happen to be a prospect or a lead, but real humans with real
- 17:13lives, people with needs, questions, uncertainty.
- 17:21And you realize that helping them feels a lot like making
- 17:27friends. You can listen, you can care,
- 17:33and you connect. And when there's a real
- 17:37connection, doesn't it become easier to help them meet a real
- 17:45need? No pressure, no pushing, just
- 17:54connection synergy, helping someone to do something that
- 18:01they hadn't even thought of yet. And this game teaches you
- 18:11something, because somewhere along the way, you realize that
- 18:21money no longer needs to be the focus.
- 18:26What if you start thinking of money as a side effect, the
- 18:33natural result of creating value?
- 18:38I want you to imagine if your passion, if your childhood dream
- 18:42was to plant trees, it would be a bonus if those trees started
- 18:50bearing fruit later. And I want you to connect
- 18:55without feeling then making connections.
- 19:01Building relationships is like planting seeds, and you don't
- 19:08know which seed that you plant. They end up bearing fruit later.
- 19:17You just know that you don't need to chase it, you don't need
- 19:23to grip it. You can just allow the results
- 19:32to flow from the seeds that you've planted.
- 19:37The money follows, it doesn't lead.
- 19:42What if a strange paradox happens at the very moment money
- 19:49is no longer a priority? That your body relaxes even
- 19:55more, your voice steadies, your timing improves, your confidence
- 20:03becomes quiet and even more convincing.
- 20:10And when you're having fun building relationships, making
- 20:15connections, don't be surprised if you end up making more money
- 20:22than you ever thought possible. When you focus on creating the
- 20:28value, the money will follow. But when people chase the money,
- 20:36the money becomes elusive. So imagine that game looks very
- 20:43much like what you used to think of work.
- 20:51And I want you to allow yourself to form a new belief.
- 20:56Yes, it's a numbers game, but quality matters so much more
- 21:03than quantity. One great connection with
- 21:10someone with a real need is worth way more than 10 forced
- 21:17conversations with someone reluctant or disinterested.
- 21:21And what if by being selective and present and genuine, you
- 21:30start connecting more with clients that see your integrity,
- 21:40they feel safe with you, they trust you, And it's that trust
- 21:47that's the foundation of where ethical and win win solutions
- 21:51naturally emerge. I want you to connect with the
- 21:58idea that you can live that dream.
- 22:03You can have fun and the money will flow as the side effect,
- 22:11not the purpose. And anytime pressure or stress
- 22:17tries to appear, your mind now knows a new way to respond.
- 22:26What if you do the opposite? Instead of tightening, you
- 22:31relax. Instead of rushing, you slow
- 22:37slightly, as if stress were a balloon, and you simply loosen
- 22:46your grip and allow that stress to just float away.
- 22:54Light, easy, unimportant. Because this is a fun game and
- 23:06you play best when you're relaxed and you're enjoying
- 23:11yourself and allow yourself to really connect with that place
- 23:20of integrity. You're not willing to sell
- 23:25unless it makes sense. You don't push people unless
- 23:31it's helping them. You don't win unless they win
- 23:37too. And that integrity becomes a
- 23:44magnet for more clients, bigger orders, longer relationships,
- 23:56because people can feel when someone is playing a clean,
- 24:02honest game. And I want you to imagine
- 24:09drifting into the future now, seeing yourself a few weeks from
- 24:15now. See yourself with more
- 24:18enthusiasm, less pressure. See yourself smiling more on
- 24:26those conversations and meetings.
- 24:29See yourself enjoying networking and prospecting.
- 24:35That future version of you looks forward to the process.
- 24:40And when you think of that future version of you, you can
- 24:43smile because you remember what this used to feel like before
- 24:50the stress crept in. Only now you have a force field.
- 24:58When this is play and fun and a dream.
- 25:05Stress seems to feel elusive, and you're better at playing
- 25:10this game than ever before. You're more skilled, more
- 25:16grounded, more you. And as you see that future
- 25:29version of you, see that with the more enthusiasm and fun
- 25:34you're having, the more successful you are and the
- 25:39faster you learn. And as this experience settles
- 25:44into you, you can allow your unconscious mind to keep those
- 25:50parts that are useful and gently discard anything unnecessary.
- 25:59Knowing from now on, selling feels lighter, friendlier, and
- 26:06more fun. And when you're ready, imagine
- 26:12walking back through that door, back into the park, and imagine
- 26:18touching the bark of some tree. Feel the texture on your
- 26:22fingertips. Feel the lightness, A renewed
- 26:26enthusiasm. Feel what it would feel like to
- 26:32be excited, to do things in a new way.
- 26:38And as you plant that seed of an idea, imagine floating back from
- 26:44that park all the way back to the here and now.
- 26:50Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 26:55nose. Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your
- 26:59toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 27:03here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 27:09you. Starting to count 123 Waking up
