- 0:22money is so precious right now because of the economic climate
- 0:25where in so I have come today with for at home or to them kind
- 0:29of therapies that you can use with yourself or your child or
- 0:33whatever. So I'm really excited about
- 0:35this. Let's go into it right now.
- 0:36It's not going to cost you a penny.
- 0:38Let's do it, guys. What's going on?
- 0:39My name is Dan, I have autism and ADHD.

- 0:55So at home, autism therapy that you can do right now and
- 0:58starting today. The first one is special
- 1:01interest time. Now having a special interest is
- 1:03super useful because autistic individuals always have special
- 1:06interests. Like, you can be Thomas the
- 1:07train or it could be like books or could be like, Tamagotchis or
- 1:10it could be absolutely anything with Marilyn Monroe.
- 1:12It could be absolutely. Anything could be like car parts
- 1:14or something, right? But having a special interest is
- 1:17really useful when you want to reset.
- 1:19Your mind or reset your mood. So once it's dick individuals
- 1:22will find relaxation and therapeutic relaxation from
- 1:26researching and obsessing over their obsessive interest.
- 1:29So how this works is a therapy is that see having a stressful
- 1:32day? Say you're a sick, child, or
- 1:34yourself through artistic. So you having stressful day and
- 1:37you want to kind of get back to zero and just kind of like I
- 1:39really need to relax because autistic individuals find it
- 1:42quite hard to relax. What I'd say to do is to
- 1:45research or watch or play with or collect or whatever.
- 1:49The topic of special interests that you have.
- 1:51So what this does is it starts releasing endorphins, you stuff
- 1:53your nice and Carmen. If you do this for like an hour,
- 1:55you'll feel really, really good. And this is a really good
- 1:58example of how you can use something like, as simple as
- 2:00just resetting special interest to really help therapeutically
- 2:03reset you to more of a relaxed mode.
- 2:05So, number two is sensory exercises.
- 2:08So I have this thing called the sensory diet, which I basically
- 2:12put into my courses and my coaching programs, FYI, guys, if
- 2:14you are interested in courses and coaching programs directly
- 2:17from me on autism and ADHD, Email me, the ask me world at
- 2:21gmail.com and I'll reach out to you and we can discuss if you
- 2:24want to enroll in one of my programs and have some personal
- 2:27coaching for me. This Century diet is basically
- 2:30exercises because many issues that you have as an officer
- 2:32personal data drive down to proprioception not being
- 2:36activated, each muscle activation that you can do by
- 2:39doing simple. Things like taking a shower
- 2:41picking up a stack of books or pick up a chair going for a walk
- 2:45walking, the dog running, you know, walking around your house
- 2:48for 20 minutes. What happens is when you engage
- 2:51those proprioception muscles, your spatial awareness becomes
- 2:54more real and you'll have less sensory issues related to you
- 3:00know walking through doors touching things because your
- 3:02proprioception for sensory processing has been elevated,
- 3:05okay. It makes a very complex, but
- 3:07it's kind of like if you did nothing all day, you would be
- 3:11less activating your muscles, which means you have less
- 3:14spatial awareness. And more things can go wrong in
- 3:17a roundabout sense, but if you kind of go over what I've gotta
- 3:19shower, pick up his Tackle Box, move a chair, every kind of two
- 3:22hours, you'll be good. Honestly, this dis change is
- 3:25going to blow your mind. You come back here after a day
- 3:28and leave a comment saying, dude, I did the sensory diet
- 3:31exercises you win, okay? So, number three is fine motor
- 3:34skills. Now, lots of autistic people
- 3:35have issued and motor skills. You know, large of great and fun
- 3:39but mine are fine motor skill issues, like picking up a key
- 3:42for in the door, picking up coins them trying to do buttons
- 3:45and Zips. These are really really
- 3:46difficult but what you can do is Is you could find stuff like
- 3:51these fly. Kites all these fidget coins on
- 3:53my site. So if you if you're interested
- 3:55there is a link on my Instagram for it.
- 3:57But, you know, picking up a coin making Stacks out of coins.
- 4:01And just twiddling with these coins, will help improve your
- 4:04fine motor skills. You can also do things like
- 4:06picking up Keys. Put in keys and door to get in.
- 4:08And to get out, you know, practice opening kitchen drawers
- 4:10closing, a kitchen drawer, doing it zipper on your jacket doing
- 4:14the button on your jacket. All of these things are small,
- 4:17fine motor skill practices that you could put into Minutes in
- 4:19your day and it'll help improve your fine motor skills.
- 4:22I found that after actually practicing fine motor skills.
- 4:25My ability to do those things greatly increased because
- 4:27practice makes progress, no matter who you are, which is
- 4:29autistic, people have issues with those things.
- 4:31So fine, motor skill practice is a really good self, home therapy
- 4:34that you can do completely free, okay?
- 4:36So number four is sensory therapy, so many of us to
- 4:38people, obviously a sensory Seekers not just century,
- 4:40avoiders is really interesting. So Century Toys, Light
- 4:44Equipment, I actually have a new one on my my shelf behind me
- 4:48here, which is like a squishy Easter Island head guy.
- 4:51I got that new one and so when I'm wanting to seek something
- 4:54Century to just Squish and just play with, I kind of go get that
- 4:57guy because it is a sensory toy that can use that I have in the
- 5:02house that's going to help me calm down and relax a little
- 5:04bit. If I'm feeling a little bit on
- 5:05edge, I'm feeling a bit like don't feel too great.
- 5:08Such as therapy is really good to relax.
- 5:10They also have different types of light and lighting but I can
- 5:12put a different levels and temperatures in my room that I
- 5:15could then just relax with and just really chill alongside do.
- 5:19Things. Because since we therapy is just
- 5:21so good because when your Centre seeking and you can get relaxed
- 5:24and Century, play your day becomes a lot more manageable.
- 5:27So essentially, it's super awesome.
- 5:29Do you have anything that you want to share with me?
