- 2:29Sean McAllister: Steve chose a rocket ship as his icon.
- 2:34Sean McAllister: Maybe that's the default, but maybe, Steve, you like it.
- 2:36Sean McAllister: Anyway, Steve has been a listener of Vegas Revealed since we started, really.
- 2:40Sean McAllister: And I know that Steve, since I've spoken with him, has uh used the advice that we give and the tips heard on Vegas Revealed to incorporate into his Vegas vacation.
- 2:53Sean McAllister: So, Steve, we want you to know we appreciate you and we appreciate anyone else who wants to subscribe.
- 3:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's just basically showing some support for us.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: We put a lot of time into this podcast, but we we thank Steven and we also have, you know, some other news that we wanted to share.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: We are trying to expand even more.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: And we have an amazing sponsor right now, the Vegas Near Me app, but we need another sponsor.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: We want to go bigger, we want to turn this podcast into a video podcast.
- 3:23Dayna Roselli: Maybe someone's listening and wants to collaborate with us, wants to partner with us, and we can help each other and create this amazing uh podcast that could go even further than it already does.
- 3:36Sean McAllister: Shoot us an email, shoot us a DM and let us know.
- 3:40Sean McAllister: Ideas at Vegas-Revealed is our email address.
- 3:46Sean McAllister: Um let's connect and chat.
- 3:48Dayna Roselli: Hey, let's get right uh into Vegas news.
- 3:50Dayna Roselli: The Vegas Loop, oh my gosh, huge deal, right?
- 3:54Dayna Roselli: We've talked about it before, and now an expansion has already been approved.
- 4:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, and we've talked about it here.
- 4:01Sean McAllister: We've taken rides on the Vegas Loop.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: Essentially, this is a tunnel system underneath Las Vegas where Tesla cars drive you to your destination.
- 4:11Sean McAllister: Well, the Clark County Commission has just approved 25 additional miles of tunnel that will connect from downtown Las Vegas all the way to the Silverton, which is really far south.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, way, way south of the Las Vegas sign and town square.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: And you know, awesome that there could be transportation, public transportation to get down there.
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: I mean, we definitely need this, that's for sure.
- 4:40Dayna Roselli: 18 new stations would be included.
- 4:43Dayna Roselli: You and I took the one that goes from Resorts World to the convention center, uh very small area.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: So we we have one now mostly centered around the convention center.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: And we thought, you know, the plan is to test this out and then expand.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: And it looks like it's already it's gotten the go.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: A station is also approved at UNLV and Harry Reed Airport to the east as well.
- 5:05Sean McAllister: Yeah, so just about every uh major resort would have a station stop.
- 5:11Sean McAllister: Um, if the resort doesn't have a station stop, the one next door will, pretty much.
- 5:17Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 5:17Sean McAllister: So it essentially connects the entire area around the Las Vegas Resort Corridor, even stretching over uh near Allegiant Stadium and the proposed site for uh the Oakland A's ballpark.
- 5:30Sean McAllister: So this is infrastructure that is needed.
- 5:34Sean McAllister: So it's good to see that plans are moving forward for this.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we can get a little more into detail maybe at another time because people do often ask, like they don't understand how it works.
- 5:43Dayna Roselli: Um, briefly, you get into a car, you're in a tunnel, and you go one way, and then you come back that same way and kind of the cars take turns.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: It's it's interesting.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: If you want to see a video of how it works, go to our Instagram page.
- 5:57Dayna Roselli: We have it there.
- 5:57Dayna Roselli: We also have it on our TikTok and I believe our YouTube too.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: But Sean and I take the ride, we shoot some video inside of it, and you can actually see for yourself how it works.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: Hey, turning to music now.
- 6:09Sean McAllister: Uh, the chicks are launching a sixth night engagement over at the backed theater at Planet Hollywood.
- 6:18Sean McAllister: Three of those shows have essentially already happened, and it's good to have them here.
- 6:23Sean McAllister: There's a lot of energy and excitement surrounding these shows.
- 6:25Dayna Roselli: Well, and a lot of people still don't realize the chicks are form formally the Dixie Chicks.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: I wrote to my friend and I said, Do you want to go see the chicks with me?
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: And she's like, I've never heard of them.
- 6:35Dayna Roselli: And I was like, the Dixie Chicks, and she's like, Oh.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: So, you know, they have changed their name, so that's who we're talking about.
- 6:42Dayna Roselli: Formally the Dixie Chicks.
- 6:43Dayna Roselli: The chicks are, yeah, at the back theater and they have more shows May 10th, 12th, and 13th.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: Um, I think it's gonna be a fun show to see, Sean, because we've seen a lot of solo country artists in that room.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Shania Twain.
- 6:59Dayna Roselli: But it'll be good to see like a well, I don't even want to say a duo.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: It's a trio, right?
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 7:05Sean McAllister: And I think that they have uh a lot of uh energy, they bring a lot of showmanship to the stage anyway, and with their own mini residency of sorts, I think that they're going to really pump up the crowd.
- 7:21Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, we've talked here on Vegas Revealed about how huge country music has become here in Las Vegas.
- 7:29Sean McAllister: There's always been a presence, but you know, now more than ever, we are kind of like Nash Vegas.
- 7:35Dayna Roselli: I know we are.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: People are always talking about it and excited about all the artists that come in, the live bands, the live music.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: And now we have Nashville Unplugged back this time at Mandalay Bay.
- 7:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, making its return.
- 7:49Sean McAllister: Aaron Benward bringing Nashville Unplugged back to rhythm and riffs over at Mandalay Bay.
- 7:55Sean McAllister: And Aaron is joining us.
- 7:57Sean McAllister: How's it going, man?
- 7:58Sean McAllister: It's been a minute.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: What's up?
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: What's up?
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: It has been a minute.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: Minute that turned into months, it turned into maybe a couple of years.
- 8:04Sean McAllister: No kidding.
- 8:05Sean McAllister: No kidding.
- 8:06Sean McAllister: But listen, it's great to have Nashville Unplugged back.
- 8:10Sean McAllister: I know, you know, both Dana and I being longtime residents here in Las Vegas.
- 8:16Sean McAllister: We know that Nashville Unplugged had been a fixture at Mandalay Bay.
- 8:21Sean McAllister: But for people who are just hearing about Nashville Unplugged for the first time, um, explain what exactly it is because this is a really cool concept.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: You think about the movie business, right?
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: There would be no movie business, there would be no movies or TV shows without somebody who wrote it.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, there'd be no actors, there'd be no careers like that.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: There would be no uh music business, no recording artists or record labels without songwriters.
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: And so what National Unplugged is it's all about really allowing people to experience the who I call the unsung heroes of the m of of music.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Um I mean, goodness, I you know, I've been blessed to be a part of this amazing small tight-knit community of of songwriters for almost 25 years or more.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: And the guys and girls that that are my friends, but also the the ones that write the soundtracks for a lot of these songs, um always tied to amazing lives, amazing stories, amazing experiences that you might you might happen to hear on the radio or on TV through the voice of the uh of a of a Luke Bryan or a Garth Brooks you know or a Carrie Underwood, but it's there's there's oftentimes people behind those songs that nobody gets to see and hear from, and oftentimes they're even better, in my opinion, than the artists themselves because the genesis of these things come from their being.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: And so National Plug is all about the song and the songwriter, where we sit on stools with our guitars and tell the stories and interact and and it really um allow the audience to to be in a have an immersive experience in just what we do in a kind of a living room style setting, very approachable, very interactive, and very improvisational, and we're all speaking the same language of music on that stage, and so people get to be a part of that.
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: Well, and I was just gonna say, do you guys I I'm assuming probably talk and tell some stories about, you know, each song you're gonna do or what you're going to do, or if there's any background or that kind of thing?
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, it's it's really about ultimately the songs are the vehicles to allow people to just experience life in the most authentic form.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: And what I mean by that is, you know, when we tell our stories, no matter if you guys telling your stories here on the podcast or anybody listening, when they tell their stories to others, nobody can argue with that.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: And and the truth of our of our lives are the things that can really make impacts on people's the struggles, the difficulties, the mountaintops, the valleys, the heartbreak, the love.
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: And um, that's really what then transcends everything and becomes a song.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: And so uh that's what that's what that's what we do every single Friday night and I live back.
- 10:52Sean McAllister: And and this is uh 8 to 9:30 over at Rhythm and Riffs.
- 10:56Sean McAllister: And as you just mentioned, it is kind of like sitting down in in a living room to hear these stories.
- 11:03Sean McAllister: It's intimate, but it's also not a traditional theater environment.
- 11:08Sean McAllister: Like you guys are giving an entire vibe to the casino floor because you're not walled in, right?
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: You know, when National Plug started 14 years ago, actually, we started at Green Valley Ranch, one of the station casino properties, and uh made our way around a few of those properties over the years, and then um came down to the strip at Mandalay Bay because of my relationship with Chuck Rowling there.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: And when he first showed me the room, one, I'd always had a dream to be on the strip.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: Two, never did I envision it would be the the a type of room that I'm that I'm in now rather than a risk because it is open to the casino.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: And thought, you know what?
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: The volume of the casino, the games, you know, because everybody's a winner at Mandalay Bay.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: The games uh the games that are you know, the the noise.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: I thought, man, my my show is such a listening kind of environment.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: But I gotta say, bro, it's it's it's amazing.
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: Every single week it's it's it's astonishing.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: People come in that are there, uh, they stay.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: They don't come in and out, they come and be and they're literally a part of it's almost like everything outside of our little uh rhythm and riffs is blocked out because of what's going on on the stage.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: And um it's been really, really cool to see that.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: It's so true.
- 12:15Dayna Roselli: I mean, and it really does, like Sean said, bring life.
- 12:18Dayna Roselli: I mean, I love walking by there and and hearing live in.
- 12:21Dayna Roselli: It's like everyone kind of wants to be a part of it.
- 12:23Dayna Roselli: It's like, what's going on?
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: How can I get in?
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: And then you're like, I gotta get in next week, you know, if there's not a seat available now, people can stand around.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: So I love this whole concept, and it's free, right?
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: People can actually come in and just sit down.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, it is absolutely free.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: And and you know, some like there's another concern that I had initially was like, all right, so everybody has a perceived value of something if it's free.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: Um, but man, you know what it is, and I've and that I love is like anyone at any time can come.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: And it's not about you know, if you can afford the ticket price or not.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Come bring your family, bring your bring, come hang with us because it's it's it's it's not it's a show for everyone.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: It really, really is, you know, and um every show is different.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: That's one of the cool things about it, is like not only is it nothing like another strip, in addition to that, you know, this is not a rehearsed thing.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: It's not like we have a scripted thing or it's not the same church show every single day.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Nothing against them.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: I love them, by the way, search shows.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: But it's it's just really us being in the moment, being present, using the vehicle and the of music as kind of our way-in to all come together in a community type environment.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: This, you know, the the uh this past Friday was an unbelievable night where as far as back I could see, there were people around all standing around the outsides on the casino.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: And just literally us in one kind of one voice, one heart, if you will, being there and experiencing the moment for about 90 minutes and not having any type of outside uh uh distractions.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: And it turned out to be a beautiful night.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: So uh I'm hoping that this Friday will be the same.
- 13:57Dayna Roselli: I wanted to ask you about Pickle Jar, the app.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: Now, this is an app where people can actually watch the performances live after you guys are done.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, totally.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: Pickle Jar is is a new and new partnership that that um that we have here as we kind of as we're relaunching National Plug, and I'm really, really excited about it because up until up until this this this National Plug 2.0, I'm calling it, we've only been really in the walls of the casinos we've been in and really kind of been, you know, about the people that are staying there and or the locals that are in Las Vegas that know about it.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: Now, because of pickle jar and our partnership with them, we are able to literally be seen and experienced across the world.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: And my my dream, my goal is that instead of people just kind of happening upon National Plug on a Friday night, that they actually begin to to plan their Fridays when they come to visit Las Vegas around National Plug.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: And I think this is picklejar is gonna help us do that.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: So basically what it is is if you can't be there on a Friday night at eight o'clock, or when maybe you're visiting Las Vegas and you leave and go back to your hometown, you can tune in uh live Friday nights at eight um on the pickle jar app, which I love the name.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: Me too.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: I was just gonna tell you that.
- 15:04Dayna Roselli: I think it's an agreeable name.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I love the name.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: And it's it's under national plug on the pickle jar app.
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: And it's it's it's literally you can watch it or go back and see it out if you if you are there maybe on a Friday night.
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: You go home and a couple months later you go, man, I want to go see those guys again.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: Well, go back on the pickle jar app and check it out.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: So I'm really, really excited about the partnership we ever discussed.
- 15:22Sean McAllister: Uh so pickle jar is like uh honky tonk right in your pocket, and and rhythm and rhythm and riffs is like the closest thing in Las Vegas that you get to the Broadway honky tonk that you find in Nashville.
- 15:37SPEAKER_02: I think so, man.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: You know, I think so.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: I think Manila Bay and uh they're they're doing a really, really smart thing here.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think the way they're positioning kind of how what setting themselves apart when it comes to the entertainment side of what they're doing is not only really smart, but obviously very intentional.
- 15:53Sean McAllister: Separate from Nashville Unplugged, what do you make of I I guess the country music resurgence in Las Vegas?
- 16:02Sean McAllister: Not that it's ever gone away, but I think it's bigger than ever.
- 16:06Sean McAllister: We, you know, as you mentioned, we have Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Garth Brooks, uh Miranda Lambert, all major headliners.
- 16:14Sean McAllister: The chicks are here now.
- 16:16Sean McAllister: Uh what do you make of that?
- 16:19Sean McAllister: Is the is the popularity of country music bigger than ever?
- 16:22Sean McAllister: And Vegas is just reflecting that?
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think country music is bigger than ever and will continue to be that because of a few things, in my opinion.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: I think one, you know, I think like I have kids my kids are 22, 26, my daughters are 22 and 26, and my son is 28.
- 16:41SPEAKER_02: And they they they don't listen to music because of genre, they listen to music because they because a song or the artist connects with them.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: So they they'll have a they'll have a Carriana Wood record right next to a freaking, you know, edge and on their playlists.
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: And I think that's why it's it's kind of becoming genreless because of how much music is out there and how we consume it second to that.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: The fact that country music has been has allowed itself to evolve with this the younger generation and having sonic influences from other types of music, i.e.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: pop, hip hop, type of base.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: Florida Georgia Line did a great did a great thing for country music, in my opinion.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: Big enriched before them kind of ushered in this thing that began to open its eyes and ears and arms to more than just a steel guitar, acoustic guitar, bass and drums, and a great story.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: And um, I think that helps it.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: And then thirdly, lastly, I think it's so approachable.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: Again, going back to the story, i we are we it everybody hungers for something that they can they can latch on to.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: And although there's some amazing pop records and hip-hop records and great music, it's more about the vibe and the feel and the groove and the all the things that go along with it when when country music is all about the song.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: It is all about the lyrics, the melody, and um and how it connects.
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: And so I think those are things as we get more and more detached, unfortunately, through technology and the this this phone that I'm holding my hand talking to you on.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: We can become more and more attached through things like uh country music and community and things like National and Plot, where we can get together, put our phones down for a good 90 minutes or more, and just be present and allow the music to speak.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: And I think that's why country music is so big.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: Well, I love it.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: And you make such a good point.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: I remember growing up, like friends' parents, it's like they either listened to country and that's it, or they didn't.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: You was like, oh, so-and-so's mom listens to country.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: You know, you're right, but now everyone listens to everything.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: It really has changed, and that's such a good point, you know.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: I think it's a great thing.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, why do we I mean think about it?
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: When we had genres, oh no, I'm a rock guy, oh no, I'm a hip-hop guy, oh no, I'm a country guy.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: Uh no.
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's honestly what what the last thing we need to do is continue to to compartmentalize and and to separate.
- 18:59SPEAKER_02: We're you know, we we talk about it at Nodging, I'm sure, in this country, but we're so separate right now.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: No, enough of that.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, let's all just let let's get let's get stop labeling ourselves by the things that we are we're different on, start labeling ourselves by the things that we're the same on.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and everyone loves music.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: Aaron, love talking to you.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: You know what else I love is that you're you're doing a show in the middle of the casino.
- 19:19Dayna Roselli: It's free.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: This is bringing back old Vegas.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: This is how it used to be.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: You could walk through, yeah, stop in, watch a show or a band and listen.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: So I love this and I hope it continues.
- 19:29Dayna Roselli: And if anyone else is listening on the strip, I think we need to do this everywhere at every property.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: Well, you guys are awesome.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: Thank you for your encouragement.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: Hey, I'm all about old Hollywood and Old Vegas.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: So the fact that I can be a little bit a part of Old Vegas, I'm all about it.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: Let's do it.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: Let's do it.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: Thank you, Aaron, for joining us.
- 19:49Sean McAllister: Again, Nashville Unplugged at Mandalay Bay every Friday night, 8 to 9:30 at Rhythm and Riffs.
- 19:57Sean McAllister: Aaron, we'll be down front row.
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 20:00Sean McAllister: So we'll see you soon.
- 20:01Sean McAllister: Come on.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: If we can get a set.
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: Sounds good.
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: See you guys soon.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: Take care.
- 20:06Sean McAllister: And Dana, I took uh a few friends over to see Nashville Unplugged there at Mandalay Bay.
- 20:13Sean McAllister: It was so much fun.
- 20:15Sean McAllister: It as Aaron just said, it really does feel like you're in a living room setting.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: The the seating is really comfortable.
- 20:24Sean McAllister: They have uh, you know, servers who are coming around to you nonstop to make sure that you have everything you you want and need.
- 20:31Sean McAllister: The music, top-notch.
- 20:33Sean McAllister: The songwriters that were on stage, phenomenal.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: And we already mentioned in the interview the space is great, like you just said, and it's right there in the center of the casino.
- 20:44Dayna Roselli: Go see Nashville unplugged.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: I need to get there.
- 20:48Dayna Roselli: Sean just went and highly recommends it.
- 20:50Dayna Roselli: So um it's great to talk to Aaron.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: And again, if you're not on the strip, you can watch using that pickle jar app from home.
- 20:58Sean McAllister: Hey, uh Dana, I wanted to follow up on the tip that you had last week about Lake Las Vegas.
- 21:04Sean McAllister: That actually inspired a trip that I just took out there.
- 21:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you went on the cruise.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: I said when I was paddleboarding out there that the brunch cruise, I was gonna say drove by, floated by, or whatever you'd call that, cruised by.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: Um, and it looked really fun.
- 21:22Dayna Roselli: And so you took advantage and you went on a was it just a mimosa cruise?
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: So no food, right?
- 21:28Sean McAllister: There was no food on this cruise.
- 21:30Sean McAllister: It was uh left at like 11:30 in the morning on a a Saturday.
- 21:35Sean McAllister: Um, it was$20.
- 21:38Sean McAllister: That's that it was yes, that's it.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: 20 bucks to get on.
- 21:42Sean McAllister: You're an hour and a half trip on the yacht.
- 21:44Sean McAllister: Oh, beautiful.
- 21:45Sean McAllister: They have two bars, one downstairs, one up.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: They have a live DJ.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: Um, they do have all inclusive packages where it's all you can drink.
- 21:56Sean McAllister: Um, and then there's a VIP package that gives you access to.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: Kind of a roped off area on the second deck that's kind of club seating.
- 22:04Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 22:05Sean McAllister: A little bit.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: Um, but we loved it.
- 22:08Sean McAllister: It was great.
- 22:09Sean McAllister: The bar serves more than just mimosas.
- 22:11Sean McAllister: It's whatever you want, really.
- 22:14Sean McAllister: Um, and it was such a good time.
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: I mean, I feel like it's like a little escape, right?
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: We're here in the desert, but just to be like on water and have that vacation feel.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: And what a great, and I know you had a couple friends in town, so it's a great place to take people.
- 22:30Sean McAllister: And here's the thing: even if you go in the the dead of summer, the downstairs area is enclosed and air conditioned.
- 22:38Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 22:39Sean McAllister: But you still have the music from the DJ upstairs pumping in.
- 22:42Sean McAllister: So it's a good vibe.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: And how was the playlist?
- 22:45Dayna Roselli: Because the playlist is everything to me.
- 22:47Sean McAllister: Oh my god, the playlist was great.
- 22:50Sean McAllister: It was such a great mix of like early 2000s, like pop and hip-hop.
- 22:55Sean McAllister: Perfect.
- 22:56Sean McAllister: There was like black-eyed peas stepping on leprechauns.
- 22:59Sean McAllister: Boom, boom.
- 23:01Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: I saw some video.
- 23:03Dayna Roselli: We might need to post some video of uh some people around you jamming and dancing.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: What a good time.
- 23:09Sean McAllister: It really was.
- 23:10Sean McAllister: I highly suggest it.
- 23:11Sean McAllister: The yacht at Lake Las Vegas.
- 23:13Sean McAllister: Check out their uh Mimosa cruise.
- 23:15Sean McAllister: They have Sunset Cruise and the Brunch Cruise that you mentioned.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: And check Groupon, check Facebook pages.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: There are coupons out there for all this stuff at Lake Las Vegas all the time.
- 23:24Dayna Roselli: I told you last week I went paddle boarding for 17 bucks.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: It's normally 40.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: So browse around.
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: It's worth looking.
- 23:31Sean McAllister: And we actually had 25% off of our$20 ticket.
- 23:36Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: Because they had a code that was up on their Facebook page.
- 23:40Sean McAllister: So be sure to look at the yacht at Lake Las Vegas on Facebook.
- 23:45Sean McAllister: They post specials there periodically.
- 23:47Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: Hey, listen, on Sunday, I did something I don't normally do.
- 23:52Dayna Roselli: I went to a pool club.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: Day club.
- 23:55Sean McAllister: Roselli at the day club.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: I was like, what is going on with you?
- 23:59Sean McAllister: Are you a new person?
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: I was exhausted.
- 24:02Dayna Roselli: This weekend we did so much stuff.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: I mean, so much stuff.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: You and your friends came over and we hung out at the pool.
- 24:10Dayna Roselli: We did ghost bar one night and partied with like 40 friends.
- 24:14Dayna Roselli: You know, we were celebrating your husband's birthday and it was a 40th.
- 24:17Dayna Roselli: So we did a lot of things.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: But and then I was like, okay, I'm done.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: And then my friend says, Will you go to Tao Beach with me?
- 24:23Dayna Roselli: I want to see Sophie Tucker.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: And I was like, Well, yeah, because I haven't been to Tao Beach in forever.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: And like, I'll go for a little while.
- 24:29Dayna Roselli: It'll be fun, you know?
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: So my friend Perez Hilton, he recently moved to town.
- 24:32Dayna Roselli: A lot of people know Perez as the OG original blogger, but he's recently moved to Las Vegas.
- 24:37Dayna Roselli: I do want to talk to him sometime on the podcast, too, about because he has three kids and he's really been embracing the family things here in Las Vegas.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: And he has some great ideas.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: So we should talk to him sometime on the podcast.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: But anyway, uh every now and then he gets away from the kids.
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: And we went to Tau Beach.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: So we went to see Sophie Tucker, which is this duo that, you know, they've been around a while.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: I don't follow like electronic music a lot, but what I loved about them is they were electronic, but but they played like a lot of familiar songs, like some gaga and like and mixed them up.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: And, you know, Sophie got up there and she sang and they had dancers.
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: Tau Beach was great.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: The vibe was great.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: The people like watching and listening were into it.
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: They were all just loving watching them do their thing.
- 25:25Dayna Roselli: And uh it was just like everything was great.
- 25:28Dayna Roselli: Though the behavior was appropriate, all of it was just like people were there for the vibe for a Sunday pool day to listen to some good music, to watch some dancing and watch Sophie Tucker do their thing.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: I love them, and Tau Beach is just one of the many day clubs that we have here in Las Vegas, and it's something that nobody else does.
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: I was talking to the producer from the station that we do our segment in LA, and he was saying, you know, we don't have anything like that in LA.
- 25:53Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: He said Las Vegas has embraced and mastered the pool club, the day club.
- 26:02Sean McAllister: I mean, there is nothing else like it.
- 26:05Sean McAllister: If you have not experienced a Las Vegas day club, you really do need to experience it at least once you do to see what it's all about.
- 26:14Sean McAllister: It is a scene and a vibe, and it's over the top.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it is.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: And Tau Beach, I feel like was one of the original ones, and then they closed and redid it.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: And so the space is a little bigger.
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: I love what they did over there.
- 26:27Dayna Roselli: It's just a beautiful setting at the Venetian, and I highly recommend it.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go to any of our pool clubs, uh now's the time.
- 26:35Dayna Roselli: The weather's perfect before it gets really, really hot.
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: But then when it does, people will be out there no matter what.
- 26:42Sean McAllister: They certainly will.
- 26:44Sean McAllister: Uh hey, we have Mother's Day coming up, and we wanted to run through some options if you're wanting to take mom out for a nice Mother's Day brunch.
- 26:54Sean McAllister: Um, and one of them is actually over at the Venetian at Buddy V's Restaurante.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, this one is good because I've gone to a Sunday brunch there and I know how good it was because I keep I always keep thinking about it.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: I always kind of think about it every now and then, how I need to get back because it was so good.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: But Buddy V's is a great spot inside the Venetian, and you know what?
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: It it faces the strip, all glass windows, which is a great view.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's a beautiful space, but they are doing something that we thought was a pretty good deal.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: $58 per adult,$25 per child.
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: It's 10:30 to 2 30, and it's a Mother's Day brunch, and they're gonna have all of the cake boss's Italian favorites from seven food stations set up throughout the restaurant.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: So go there and enjoy.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: 58 bucks isn't too bad.
- 27:44Sean McAllister: It's not.
- 27:45Sean McAllister: And the Italian food at Buddy V's is delicious.
- 27:51Sean McAllister: I've had meals over there.
- 27:52Sean McAllister: The desserts, you cannot beat.
- 27:54Sean McAllister: We just had a tray of Buddy V's desserts at my husband's birthday celebration, and those were great.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: I know.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: We're still picking on them.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: You keep asking me, do you want a cannoli?
- 28:05Sean McAllister: I want a cannoli, want a lobster.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: I'm like, it's noon.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: I can't have a cannoli at noon.
- 28:09Sean McAllister: Hey, listen, if that's your calories for the day, so be it.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: Another great option is over at the win Las Vegas.
- 28:16Dayna Roselli: Gorgeous property.
- 28:17Dayna Roselli: I mean, to bring mom over, I always bring my mom to the win.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: It's one of her favorites.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: And she actually, her and my dad always stay there when they come visit.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: But they are doing a butler brunch for Mother's Day over at La Cave, which is a beautiful space too.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: And this is$65 per person, Sean.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: You're gonna indulge and get this 20 items tray passed, butler style.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: So it's kind of different than that.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: That is, that's cool, right?
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: And so you remain seated, they're gonna continuously like tray pass these items, made fresh from the kitchen.
- 28:50Dayna Roselli: What a great Mother's Day experience that would be.
- 28:52Sean McAllister: That really would.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: That's a that's a unique way of serving up brunch, too.
- 28:57Sean McAllister: I like that.
- 28:58Sean McAllister: Uh, another unique spot right on the strip in the heart of the Las Vegas corridor is Giata at the Cromwell.
- 29:07Sean McAllister: And if you've never been to Giata, they have these windows that kind of open up like a garage door almost.
- 29:14Sean McAllister: And on nice days, even when there's a slight breeze, they open those windows and it's almost like you're dining al fresco outside.
- 29:24Sean McAllister: The restaurant's beautiful.
- 29:25Sean McAllister: They are also doing a brunch tasting menu for$49.99 a person.
- 29:32Sean McAllister: The hours are 9 a.m.
- 29:33Sean McAllister: to 2 45 p.m.
- 29:36Sean McAllister: Make a reservation.
- 29:37Sean McAllister: Uh, it will fill up, but Giada, you're going to love it.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: I mean, I've moms will love it.
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: Uh, if you're, you know, a husband and your wife's a mom, and your wife will love it.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: I mean, I feel like women love that space because it's so beautiful.
- 29:51Dayna Roselli: And you do feel it's very cozy but classy.
- 29:54Sean McAllister: It is.
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: It looks out toward the fountains.
- 29:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's great.
- 29:57Sean McAllister: And the food is delicious there also.
- 30:00Dayna Roselli: The Bacchanal buffet is very popular over at Caesar's Palace.
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: So if you can get in for Mother's Day brunch, they are doing some special dishes.
- 30:08Dayna Roselli: Um, and adults are gonna receive a free glass of champagne for brunch and for dinner.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: And all the female guests are gonna receive a rose too.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: So a little, yeah, special Mother's Day, you know, touch, I guess, over at Bacchanal.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: That is nice.
- 30:23Dayna Roselli: And I also wanted to just add in that, you know, Donnie Osman has a show on the Saturday night before Mother's Day, and Rod Stewart is playing too.
- 30:32Dayna Roselli: He's over at the Coliseum, Donnie's over at Hara's, and moms love Donnie and Rod.
- 30:37Sean McAllister: They sure do.
- 30:39Sean McAllister: If you well, my body, and you think I'm sexy.
- 30:44Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, but if your mom, if she doesn't have a mild sense of humor, if she can get a little raunchy, you might want to take her to a comedy show.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: And now Nikki Glacer might not be for mom.
- 30:57Dayna Roselli: Well, well, but that's okay because she's not there that weekend.
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: But Nikki Glacer and David Spade will be back at the Venetian um in June and uh, well, June 30th and July 1st, September 29th and 30th, and then November 16th and 17th.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: And let me tell you, I went to the show, Sean.
- 31:14Dayna Roselli: I haven't laughed that hard in a while.
- 31:16Dayna Roselli: My face hurt.
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: I got in my car and I had to do like an Instagram video because I was like, I was so impressed with both of them.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: Nikki can get a little raunch.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: So, you know, if you if mom doesn't mind hearing about gangbangs and all that stuff, Nikki, and she is a good sport.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: But let me tell you, Nikki is funny as I'll get out, and everyone was laughing.
- 31:40Dayna Roselli: David Spade was hilarious.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: I have never seen David Spade do stand-up before, and I loved his delivery and his jokes, and he was actually surprisingly somewhat clean.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: Really?
- 31:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, it was it was easy to listen to.
- 31:53Dayna Roselli: I laughed so hard.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: I just loved this show.
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: She came out first.
- 31:58Dayna Roselli: I wasn't sure if they were going to do something like together or separate.
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: So they have an opener, and then Nikki comes out and does stand-up, and then David comes out and does stand-up.
- 32:05Dayna Roselli: And it's fun because Nikki, he always talks to Nikki, who's kind of standing off to the side at backstage.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: So she sits there and watches his stand-up and he watches hers.
- 32:13Dayna Roselli: So it's kind of fun.
- 32:14Dayna Roselli: It was at the Venetian theater, which is, you know, we always say a Phantom of the Opera used to be there.
- 32:18Dayna Roselli: It was a it's a beautiful theater.
- 32:20Dayna Roselli: It was packed and everyone was laughing.
- 32:23Dayna Roselli: I mean, David and Nikki were very funny.
- 32:26Dayna Roselli: I highly recommend you go see them do this stand-up show when they're back because I don't know.
- 32:32Dayna Roselli: It just was great.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: I loved it so much.
- 32:35Dayna Roselli: And I know you need to get there as well.
- 32:37Dayna Roselli: And I keep telling you all of David Spade's jokes because I can't hold them in.
- 32:41Dayna Roselli: But so hopefully I don't ruin it for you.
- 32:42Sean McAllister: Oh, I'm sure they'll have new material as they roll on.
- 32:45Sean McAllister: So again, uh June 30 and July 1.
- 32:48Sean McAllister: Then they're back in the fall.
- 32:49Sean McAllister: It's September and November.
- 32:52Sean McAllister: Uh hey, let's do tips.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: All right, my tip this week is the Laguna Pool House and Kitchen that is now open at Palm's Place.
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: We told you we had a busy weekend, right?
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: Well, I also went to this a ribbon cutting for this restaurant that is now open.
- 33:12Dayna Roselli: Listen, this space has been there for some time.
- 33:15Dayna Roselli: It used to be Simon, and everyone, the who's who would go to Sunday brunch there.
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: It was such a popular spot.
- 33:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, Carrie Simon.
- 33:23Sean McAllister: He was known as the rock and roll chef.
- 33:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:26Dayna Roselli: And everyone loved him.
- 33:27Dayna Roselli: Everyone knew him.
- 33:28Dayna Roselli: He really was engrossed in the community as well, even though, you know, the tourists and the celebs knew him too.
- 33:34Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 33:35Dayna Roselli: So we loved that.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: And actually, they donated uh$25,000 to help for research for the disease that Carrie had and passed away from uh many years ago now.
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: And I thought that was such a great touch for the Palms to do that.
- 33:52Dayna Roselli: And on a lighter note, though, you know, they wanted to open that space again because people loved it.
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: It's at Palms Place.
- 33:59Dayna Roselli: So there's Palms and the casino portion in the hotel, and then Palm's Place, which is also now a hotel.
- 34:05Dayna Roselli: So you can stay there too.
- 34:07Dayna Roselli: But this place has an indoor and outdoor.
- 34:09Dayna Roselli: So there's a pool area, and then there's an enclosed area and a bar.
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: It's a beautiful space.
- 34:14Dayna Roselli: Here's my tip though: this new restaurant, Sean, is gonna be open for breakfast, lunch, light bites, dinner, and on Friday and Saturday, late night until 1 a.m.
- 34:25Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 34:25Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 34:26Dayna Roselli: So it's gonna be constantly, you know, open and be a place for people to go, have fun.
- 34:33Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, if you're sitting by the pool, you can order food.
- 34:36Dayna Roselli: And on uh Monday through Thursdays, they're doing a happy hour from 4 p.m.
- 34:40Dayna Roselli: to 6 p.m.
- 34:41Sean McAllister: We're gonna have to hit up the happy hour too.
- 34:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's a beautiful view.
- 34:45Dayna Roselli: Like you feel like, you know, again, like we always say, like you're on vacation when you're there, you know?
- 34:49Dayna Roselli: You do.
- 34:50Dayna Roselli: And then obviously, you know, tourists that want to come in and visit the palms, go over to Palm's Place, hit up Laguna Pool House and Kitchen, go relax, eat some food, have some cocktails.
- 34:59Dayna Roselli: They had samplings of some of the cocktails there, they were great.
- 35:02Dayna Roselli: And just, you know, happy to see everyone out there.
- 35:05Dayna Roselli: It's also been one year since the palms reopened under new ownership.
- 35:09Dayna Roselli: Happy anniversary, Palms.
- 35:11Dayna Roselli: That was on April 27th, and so they were saying, like, what perfect timing to now open this restaurant too.
- 35:16Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 35:16Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, my tip this week is also uh restaurant-oriented.
- 35:21Sean McAllister: It uh revolves around the Italian American Club, which we've spoken about here on Vegas Reveal before.
- 35:28Sean McAllister: It is a classic old Vegas vibe, live music, uh, the service, top-notch and very personalized, the kind of service you don't get at chain restaurants or restaurants that are owned by corporate entities.
- 35:45Sean McAllister: Food, delicious.
- 35:48Sean McAllister: But our tip is that a lot of people think you have to be a member of the Italian American Club in order to go there.
- 35:56Sean McAllister: That is not the case.
- 35:58Sean McAllister: It is open to the public, make a reservation, go in there.
- 36:04Sean McAllister: It is it is a vibe that I have not experienced before, and I loved every second of it.
- 36:13Dayna Roselli: You know, I kind of suggested this to you, and you were like, Yeah, and you had never been.
- 36:17Dayna Roselli: And really, everyone, besides like maybe one or uh uh two other people in our party hadn't all of them have never been and had never been, and they all loved it, right?
- 36:26Dayna Roselli: It's it's we can definitely with confidence say they all loved it.
- 36:30Dayna Roselli: It was a memorable night.
- 36:31Sean McAllister: Loved it.
- 36:32Sean McAllister: We ate in the we were seated in the VIP room.
- 36:35Sean McAllister: This is the room where where Frank Sinatra used to sit when he would be a guest at the Italian American Club.
