Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the man accused of fatally shooting a West Virginia National Guard member and critically wounding another near Washington D.C.’s Farragut Square, has been hospitalized in a life-saving emergency — a move prosecutors say follows weeks of alarming reports that he refused to eat, risking his life.
