- 0:44Speaker 3: Yeah, so starting right now, if you call 131065 and
- 0:47Speaker 3: you get on air....
- 0:50Speaker 1: Yeah, getting on air is the important part.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't just call. You've got to call through.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Someone tries that every time, though. Someone's like, yeah, I
- 0:56Speaker 1: spoke to someone, and we're like, that's a producer.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you've got to get on air.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Must be on air.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Are we ready out there? I know Chelsea's just firing up.
- 1:03Speaker 3: You're going to have a lot of calls today.
- 1:04Speaker 1: She's very stressed.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I can see sweat going down her face.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I love you getter days. It is the best day
- 1:08Speaker 1: on the phone. I'm not lying, I promise.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I've told you I was working at the other station
- 1:13Speaker 3: before I came here. Every time we do this, their
- 1:15Speaker 3: phones light up. So don't call 1310... Whatever.
- 1:20Speaker 5: 60.
- 1:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I'll call them, say hi. But you're not going to
- 1:23Speaker 3: get anything.
- 1:24Speaker 7: No.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Let's not confuse everyone.
- 1:25Speaker 7: It's 131065.
- 1:25Speaker 3: What's the Nova number?
- 1:29Speaker 8: 13-24-10.
- 1:29Speaker 3: 13-24-10. Don't call that.
- 1:31Speaker 1: No, don't.
- 1:32Speaker 3: 13-10-96? Remember that number? I do, yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 4: No, 13-10-65. The only number you need this morning. By
- 1:39Speaker 4: the way, Bruno Mars, the best concert I've ever been to,
- 1:42Speaker 4: I reckon.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Oh, really? That good?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Yeah, he's so little and funky.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Little and funky. He is.
- 1:46Speaker 1: For such a small man, he's so funky.
- 1:48Speaker 3: That's your review. Little and funky.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Oh, great voice and, yeah, the performance element. But I
- 1:53Speaker 4: was just looking going, wow, so little and funky.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Well, your first chance to get on air and win
- 1:57Speaker 3: coming up in minutes.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Oh, by the way, you know how you've been trying
- 2:00Speaker 4: to get my child's gender out of me for the
- 2:02Speaker 4: past week since I announced that I was pregnant?
- 2:04Speaker 3: What's the gender?
- 2:04Speaker 5: Girl.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I announced it.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Oh, you did?
- 2:07Speaker 1: So now I don't have to worry about you. Actually,
- 2:08Speaker 1: when I did it, I was like, I'm just sick
- 2:10Speaker 1: of Mikey grilling me.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yeah, because I kept on trying to get you to
- 2:13Speaker 3: stuff up. Like, what's the gender?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Anyway, little girl. A little girl.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And what are you going to call her?
- 2:18Speaker 1: I don't know. I do know that too.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Oh, you do know that? Yeah, we've already picked that.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Oh, that's the next one.
- 2:23Speaker 3: But no, don't.
- 2:24Speaker 1: What are you going to call her?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Don't.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Are you excited?
- 2:27Speaker 1: I have baby brain, so I probably will drop it.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I'll get you.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Very excited to have a little girl, but also it
- 2:31Speaker 4: means it's just like another me in the world.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Yeah, that's terrible.
- 2:33Speaker 4: And that's scary because I feel I'm going to get
- 2:35Speaker 4: really bad karma for how bad I was as a teenager.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And still are. Oh, I'm just awful. I'm just awful
- 2:42Speaker 3: to be around. How's Kane? Did he want a little
- 2:43Speaker 3: boy to kick the footy around with?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Oh, all the boxing.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Yeah. He's like, oh, girls can be boxers too.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm like, hell no.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Oh, no, don't stop a pretty face.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 2:53Speaker 4: No, he, look, I have a sneaking suspicion he wanted
- 2:57Speaker 4: a boy.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I think all men want a son.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 1: But he said he's just happy he did the whole
- 3:03Speaker 1: as long as it's healthy. And I was like, but
- 3:05Speaker 1: you wanted a boy. He's like, no, I'm happy with anything.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay.
- 3:09Speaker 3: You know, if I just had one, I reckon I'd
- 3:11Speaker 3: want a little girl.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Oh, but that's because you're a fairy.
- 3:14Speaker 4: I actually said to my dad made this worse because
- 3:17Speaker 4: before we knew the gender, my dad said, oh yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 4: but at least you get the boy.
- 3:20Speaker 1: The stress is done.
- 3:22Speaker 4: So I think he like, if you get a boy first,
- 3:24Speaker 4: the stress is all done.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So I think he's, he put into Kane's head as well.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Like you need a boy. Oh, I get you. Then
- 3:31Speaker 3: the boy's done.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Yeah, the boy's done.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Ticket off the list and then you don't worry about
- 3:34Speaker 4: whatever the kids are after that.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I mean, these days they can decide their own gender,
- 3:38Speaker 3: I heard. Yeah. On some woke podcast. Why are you
- 3:41Speaker 3: even picking genders, Natalie?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing. Inside of the cake should have
- 3:44Speaker 1: just been beige.
- 3:46Speaker 3: You decide. Yeah.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Sean Fraser in the newsroom, what have you got for
- 3:50Speaker 4: us this morning?
- 3:51Speaker 9: Well, big news out of Queensland today. So they're changing
- 3:55Speaker 9: the laws for e-bike riders.
- 3:57Speaker 10: Oh, yeah?
- 3:57Speaker 6: Basically, you need to have your L's. You need to
- 4:00Speaker 6: have a license to ride an e-bike. To ride an e-bike.
- 4:02Speaker 5: What car L's?
- 4:03Speaker 6: Yeah, your car L's to ride an e-bike.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Well, that means you've got to be 16.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Have to be 16.
- 4:10Speaker 9: And another interesting thing about this, and obviously all the
- 4:13Speaker 9: other states are going to be keeping an eye on
- 4:14Speaker 9: this to see how it goes because it might get
- 4:16Speaker 9: implemented elsewhere. But if someone is under the age of
- 4:20Speaker 9: 16 doing the wrong thing on a bike, caught on
- 4:23Speaker 9: one of these bikes, the fine... $ 518 goes to the parents.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Oh, that'll make sure the kids don't do it. You know,
- 4:31Speaker 3: my old man, the boomer who gets very angry about
- 4:34Speaker 3: teenagers on e-bikes, he needs to move to Queensland because
- 4:37Speaker 3: he'll be really happy with that.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Queensland is really the only state making effort to crack
- 4:43Speaker 4: down on it.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I mean, it makes sense. If they're kind of powered
- 4:46Speaker 3: like a motorbike, you wouldn't be allowed to ride a
- 4:49Speaker 3: motorbike until you're 16. And it will stop.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And if you take the thing off, you know how
- 4:55Speaker 1: you can stop it from going.
- 4:56Speaker 3: The safety thing.
- 4:57Speaker 1: The safety thing. It goes so fast. Like as fast
- 5:00Speaker 1: as a car.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I know.
- 5:01Speaker 11: All right.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Well, maybe that'll be happening.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Am I a loser because I was thinking about buying
- 5:05Speaker 4: a push bike on the weekend?
- 5:06Speaker 3: A non-electric one. No electric element. A pregnant woman on
- 5:10Speaker 3: a push bike.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Well, I thought it's just like, I don't run. My
- 5:12Speaker 1: partner runs. I was like, I can bike alongside of
- 5:14Speaker 1: you as like another way to exercise. And then I
- 5:16Speaker 1: was like, hang on. Will everyone see me and be like, oh,
- 5:18Speaker 1: look at that.
- 5:19Speaker 3: She got a normal bike. Well, the thing is, if
- 5:22Speaker 3: you notice, now that e-bikes are everywhere, the only people
- 5:24Speaker 3: riding a normal old school push bike is like some junkie.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 3: There's a guy around my area and I see him
- 5:32Speaker 3: all the time and he's on an old school push
- 5:34Speaker 3: bike with his lat outfit on and his bum bag.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Yeah, so it'd be just that junkie and me.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah, or a pregnant junkie woman. Shall we get into
- 5:44Speaker 3: the show?
- 5:44Speaker 4: Yes, let's do tradie versus lady. I love our prize
- 5:47Speaker 4: this week. It is a Tefl Dolce ice cream maker.
- 5:51Speaker 1: An ice cream maker. But you can make like gelato.
- 5:53Speaker 1: You can make heaps of different things in this.
- 5:55Speaker 3: You can make frozen yogurt. You could. All the rage
- 5:58Speaker 3: these days. Not the e-bikes.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Plus, of course, by getting on air, you win that
- 6:02Speaker 4: double pass to see Bruno Mars live in concert just
- 6:05Speaker 4: for playing. You don't even have to win because it's
- 6:07Speaker 4: a you get a day.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:08Speaker 3: So let's do that. First people on air right now
- 6:10Speaker 3: are going to go and see Bruno Mars and you'll
- 6:12Speaker 3: get an ice cream maker. And let's play Bruno Mars.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Last night, 60 Minutes aired a special that was hosted
- 6:18Speaker 4: by Tracy Grimshaw, and they finally spoke to Leah Stewart,
- 6:22Speaker 4: who's the mum who was attacked by a shark while
- 6:24Speaker 4: swimming at the beach in June, Coogee Beach in Sydney. Now,
- 6:28Speaker 4: it's the first time that Leah has spoken publicly about
- 6:31Speaker 4: what happened to her.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Which is obviously traumatising.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Awful, yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 4: So we wanted to just play a few key parts
- 6:36Speaker 4: of the interview this morning in case you missed it. Now,
- 6:38Speaker 4: first of all, and this is really important, Leah says
- 6:40Speaker 4: that she followed all all the rules when she decided
- 6:43Speaker 4: to go swimming that day.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Take a listen.
- 6:45Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:46Speaker 5: I would never swim at sunrise, sunset, only on crystal
- 6:50Speaker 5: clear days. Staying really close to shore, that's something I
- 6:55Speaker 5: sort of tried to do. Yeah, I just, I was
- 6:59Speaker 5: trying to do things right. But you know, when you
- 7:03Speaker 5: enter the water, there is risk.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I mean, there is, but that's the thing that rattled
- 7:06Speaker 3: me because I swim a lot in the ocean and
- 7:09Speaker 3: she was like 30 metres off the beach in between
- 7:12Speaker 3: the flags.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 7:13Speaker 3: But, of course, the shark doesn't respect any of that.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Well, and the thing is you're in their home at
- 7:17Speaker 4: the end of the day. So every time you go
- 7:20Speaker 4: into the water at the beach, you are taking that risk.
- 7:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:23Speaker 4: She then described the moment that she saw the shark
- 7:26Speaker 4: in the water. I think it's really important to mention
- 7:28Speaker 4: she remembers everything, by the way.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 7:30Speaker 3: Yeah, because quite often people will forget details. Yeah, blackout.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah, no, she remembers everything. So take a listen to this.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 7:36Speaker 5: I was finishing up my swim and I was very
- 7:42Speaker 5: close to getting back to the sand. And then all
- 7:47Speaker 5: of a sudden I heard a girl behind me sort
- 7:49Speaker 5: of just go, scream. like kind of like a shrill
- 7:54Speaker 5: shriek and I turned and there was a huge huge
- 8:00Speaker 5: fin behind her it's massive and at first I thought
- 8:07Speaker 5: oh it's a dolphin but I looked at the size
- 8:10Speaker 5: of it and I realized that's not a dolphin and
- 8:13Speaker 5: so we just start screaming at the top of our
- 8:16Speaker 5: lungs just like shark shark shark and like I never
- 8:20Speaker 5: screamed that loud and that crazy in my life shark
- 8:23Speaker 5: and we could just watch the fin sort of going
- 8:26Speaker 5: back and forth between the two girls behind us.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Can you imagine that moment? Because there's nothing you can do.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Like you can't run.
- 8:34Speaker 5: No.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I mean, you can try and swim off, but you're
- 8:37Speaker 3: right there.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And they're going to out swim you. They're faster than you.
- 8:39Speaker 4: But also you'd forget everything you're told about when a
- 8:43Speaker 4: shark's near you.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Don't like splash. You'd forget that because you're in panic mode.
- 8:47Speaker 4: So then before she knew it, she came face to
- 8:49Speaker 4: face with the shark and describes what happened when it
- 8:52Speaker 4: attacked her. Warning, this grab does contain somewhat graphic content.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Take a listen.
- 8:58Speaker 5: I stopped and I could feel movement in the water
- 9:00Speaker 5: and I turned around and it was right there. And
- 9:04Speaker 5: it just was getting closer and closer and closer.
- 9:07Speaker 8: Its mouth.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Was as big as my thigh.
- 9:11Speaker 12: Its face was horrific.
- 9:12Speaker 5: I'll never forget its face. It got to the point
- 9:15Speaker 5: where it was about 30 centimetres from my face. I'm like,
- 9:18Speaker 5: I've got to try and punch it. I've got to
- 9:20Speaker 5: try and push it away or else it's going to
- 9:22Speaker 5: bite my head off. And in that moment, I thought, well,
- 9:27Speaker 5: which limb am I willing to lose? I'm right-handed. So
- 9:33Speaker 5: I decided let's do a left hook. And I just
- 9:35Speaker 5: kind of throw my left arm and it just grabs
- 9:39Speaker 5: onto my forearm and rips, rips away my skin and muscle, everything.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I didn't realize that. So that's how she lost her arm.
- 9:50Speaker 3: She went to hit the shark. Yeah.
- 9:52Speaker 4: And for her to even think in the moment, I'm
- 9:55Speaker 4: gonna fight this thing is like some serious bravery yeah
- 9:58Speaker 4: the shark then grabbed her thigh and leah started thinking
- 10:01Speaker 4: of her daughter and how she didn't want to die
- 10:03Speaker 4: and leave her daughter without a mother so she describes
- 10:06Speaker 4: the moment that she managed to get away i.
- 10:10Speaker 5: I couldn't handle that i didn't want her not to
- 10:12Speaker 5: have a mom so um i just thought i've got
- 10:15Speaker 5: it i'm gonna fight it i'm gonna do everything i
- 10:18Speaker 5: can to be here I could feel it shaking me.
- 10:23Speaker 5: And somehow I managed to twist my body around and
- 10:30Speaker 5: I knew I had to punch its snout. In my head,
- 10:33Speaker 5: I was like, you ugly f * * * er,
- 10:34Speaker 5: you are not taking me.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Away from my daughter.
- 10:37Speaker 5: And I twisted myself around and I just started punching
- 10:40Speaker 5: it over and over and over again, just punch, punch, punch.
- 10:43Speaker 5: And it was like fighting a dinosaur. It was so big.
- 10:50Speaker 5: It was like punching a brick wall.
- 10:52Speaker 3: And I.
- 10:54Speaker 5: Think I must have got a really good one in.
- 10:57Speaker 5: And so they let me go. And I just kind of.
- 11:02Speaker 5: popped back up.
- 11:04Speaker 3: So she did kind of scare it off after a while.
- 11:06Speaker 3: And of course, we know that paddleboarder then came to
- 11:09Speaker 3: save her. Of course.
- 11:10Speaker 4: So yeah, I mean, despite the fact that she lost
- 11:12Speaker 4: her arm, she really did fight that thing away and survive.
- 11:16Speaker 5: Wow.
- 11:16Speaker 3: What a full on story.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Obviously a traumatic experience.
- 11:19Speaker 4: She suffered multiple fractures, lost a lot of blood, had
- 11:21Speaker 4: to have her arm amputated, but she's recovering. And she
- 11:24Speaker 4: says she still has a long way to go, but
- 11:26Speaker 4: she's looking forward to getting back to normal life.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yep.
- 11:29Speaker 3: What a story. That's crazy. You might want to comment
- 11:31Speaker 3: on that for first calls this morning. 131065. All right.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Our You Get A Day continues. So every caller on

- 12:17Speaker 1: Good morning.

- 12:26Speaker 4: Yeah, Bruno Mars brings the romantic tour to Australia in

- 12:43Speaker 3: Anything you want to talk about? Here's Kaz. Hello, Kaz.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Good morning. Good morning.
- 12:49Speaker 1: How are you going?
- 12:49Speaker 7: Good.
- 12:50Speaker 3: You're going to Bruno. Yeah. What do you want to
- 12:53Speaker 3: talk about today?
- 12:55Speaker 13: I'm just ringing about the girl that was attacked by
- 12:57Speaker 13: the shark.
- 12:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:58Speaker 3: 60 minutes last night. Really full on interview with her.
- 13:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 13: Absolutely terrible. Did they mention whether the shark nets have
- 13:06Speaker 13: been taken down recently? Was that like brought up in
- 13:09Speaker 13: the thing?
- 13:10Speaker 3: So they're only in Sydney, I believe, if you're a
- 13:11Speaker 3: Melbourne listener. They put them up and Sean will know
- 13:14Speaker 3: more of the details. I believe they're about to go
- 13:15Speaker 3: back up again. Tomorrow.
- 13:16Speaker 6: They'll go back up tomorrow.
- 13:17Speaker 9: I think it's from September to April that they have
- 13:20Speaker 9: the nets in place.
- 13:22Speaker 6: So the attack actually happened in July, was it?
- 13:25Speaker 8: Right.
- 13:26Speaker 14: Okay.
- 13:26Speaker 3: So they were down.
- 13:27Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I didn't realise they weren't there the whole time.
- 13:30Speaker 3: No, they take them down during the wintertime. Why? Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 3: I know.
- 13:33Speaker 10: Why?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Why don't they just leave them?
- 13:34Speaker 3: Yeah, well, look, yeah, open a can of worms here, right,
- 13:37Speaker 3: because a lot of people don't think they work at
- 13:39Speaker 3: all and just kill a bunch of innocent turtles and whatnot. Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
- 13:43Speaker 3: And they're not, like, What people don't understand is they're
- 13:46Speaker 3: not a full net. I think they like sit off
- 13:48Speaker 3: the ocean and they kind of are meant to disrupt.
- 13:50Speaker 3: That's right.
- 13:51Speaker 6: A shark can easily get around them.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Go around them.
- 13:53Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 3: But is it just like a deterrent? Yeah, that's the idea.
- 13:56Speaker 3: And they've been there since like the 30s. So I'm
- 13:58Speaker 3: sure the technology's got better. Yeah, sure.
- 13:59Speaker 9: And also this summer coming, there's going to be a
- 14:02Speaker 9: lot more drones in the sky. So I reckon my
- 14:05Speaker 9: call is that this summer there will be a lot
- 14:07Speaker 9: of beaches closing like a.
- 14:08Speaker 6: Lot because the drones are so good. They can spot
- 14:11Speaker 6: a shark from ages away.
- 14:12Speaker 1: They'll also be super safe.
- 14:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 4: So if they see one even close to approaching, they'll
- 14:17Speaker 4: just shut the beach.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Well, after this attack, Kaz, that's when they put those
- 14:20Speaker 3: drones at every beach along Sydney. So, yeah, they did that.
- 14:24Speaker 13: As a swimmer myself, I know it kind of makes
- 14:26Speaker 13: you a bit scared to swim these days, doesn't it?
- 14:28Speaker 3: Yeah, do you still go out, though, Kaz, after that?
- 14:30Speaker 3: Do you get in the ocean?
- 14:32Speaker 13: I'm never the furthest one out anymore. I always used
- 14:34Speaker 13: to like to be the furthest one. I always make
- 14:36Speaker 13: sure there's someone between me and the outside.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Yeah, those drones, they work. I mean, I told a
- 14:40Speaker 3: story on air how I was swimming and a drone
- 14:42Speaker 3: came over and told me to get out. And I
- 14:44Speaker 3: jumped out straight away. So they're there all day watching
- 14:49Speaker 3: the beaches.
- 14:49Speaker 6: It's incredible though, isn't it? Having this sort of technology
- 14:52Speaker 6: to be able to, you know.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and I feel like in the future it will
- 14:55Speaker 4: only advance further. They'll have, I don't know, sensors under
- 14:58Speaker 4: the water and things like that.
- 14:59Speaker 3: I think they're talking about using AI as well. So
- 15:02Speaker 3: like the AI drone will spot the shark instead of
- 15:05Speaker 3: having a manned person there.
- 15:06Speaker 1: A manned person. A manned, manned.
- 15:09Speaker 12: Oh.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Yeah, not a manned person.
- 15:12Speaker 1: All right, let's chat to Wayne from Sydney.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Hello, Wayne.
- 15:16Speaker 1: You got a double pass to Bruno Mars.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Hey, beautiful. Thank you.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Now what did you want to say for first calls?
- 15:23Speaker 14: Well, I just wanted.
- 15:27Speaker 10: To ask.
- 15:27Speaker 14: Sorry, I've got music.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Oh, you've got some music on?
- 15:35Speaker 15: Yes, there's music.
- 15:37Speaker 3: What is it?
- 15:38Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'm confused as to what's happening.
- 15:43Speaker 7: Wayne.
- 15:44Speaker 14: Am I live yet or not?
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you're on the air. Everyone can hear you.
- 15:47Speaker 11: Oh, sorry.
- 15:48Speaker 16: Yeah, I just wanted to ask Mikey.
- 15:50Speaker 7: Yep.
- 15:51Speaker 14: What did he say at the concert? What did Alex
- 15:53Speaker 14: Warren do out of The Ordinary?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, you went to the concert.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, what happened is there was only one double
- 16:01Speaker 4: pass that was given to anyone that works here at
- 16:02Speaker 4: the station. And, of course, they gave it to Mike
- 16:05Speaker 4: E for Friday night's show. So I'm just wondering, earlier
- 16:08Speaker 4: you said it was really good. He finished the show
- 16:10Speaker 4: with Ordinary.
- 16:10Speaker 1: He even apparently saw you in the crowd and said,
- 16:12Speaker 1: there's that guy that interviewed me. So Wayne's question was,
- 16:15Speaker 1: what did he do? What was it again?
- 16:17Speaker 3: Sorry, Wayne?
- 16:18Speaker 14: What did Alex Warren do out of the ordinary at
- 16:24Speaker 14: the concert that Michael wouldn't know about if he went there?
- 16:27Speaker 3: Well, he played ordinary.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yeah, aside from that. Yeah, playing his biggest hit isn't
- 16:31Speaker 1: a shock, is it?
- 16:32Speaker 3: I'll tell you what he did.
- 16:34Speaker 5: What?
- 16:35Speaker 3: He live streamed it on TikTok. First person ever to
- 16:38Speaker 3: do that.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Yeah, that's because you got that information for your interview.
- 16:40Speaker 4: But we're asking what happened at the interview.
- 16:43Speaker 3: At the interview?
- 16:43Speaker 4: I mean, sorry, at the concert. Because you wouldn't have
- 16:45Speaker 4: been watching the live stream. You were at the concert.
- 16:47Speaker 3: A lot of people holding up there. Also, Mike.
- 16:49Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 16:50Speaker 14: Also, Mikey.
- 16:51Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm listening.
- 16:55Speaker 11: Hello?
- 17:05Speaker 3: Well, I see you tried to grill me, but your
- 17:07Speaker 3: caller was crappy, so that didn't work.
- 17:09Speaker 6: I hope he's all right.
- 17:11Speaker 1: No, I'm concerned.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Wayne, are you okay?
- 17:13Speaker 14: Yeah, I'm here. I've got the background noise in the phone, sorry.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Thank you, Wayne.
- 17:26Speaker 1: All right, he's made his point.
- 17:32Speaker 3: What's coming up, Nat?
- 17:33Speaker 4: So I got to hear the celebrity news, and there's
- 17:36Speaker 4: a reason why girlfriends all around the world are banning
- 17:39Speaker 4: their boyfriends from playing the new Grand Theft Auto game
- 17:42Speaker 4: that's coming out soon.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I'll tell you why next.
- 17:45Speaker 1: You know Tom Hardy, the actor?
- 17:47Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 1: He's the British actor.
- 17:48Speaker 4: You may know him as Venom or he played Bane
- 17:51Speaker 4: in the Batman movie. He's exploring a new career adventure.
- 17:55Speaker 4: So his latest thing is he's just released a rap album.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Like full album? Yep.
- 18:00Speaker 4: He's going under the stage name Frankie Pulitzer and he's
- 18:04Speaker 4: dropped a 15-song project which includes features from other rap
- 18:08Speaker 4: legends like Busta Rhymes, Method Man and things like that.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I've got a little bit of his rapping and I
- 18:13Speaker 1: want to hear what you think of it.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Take a listen.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:16Speaker 5: Yeah, no.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:30Speaker 3: What do you think about a guy that like, you know,
- 18:32Speaker 3: can actually rap or the dude that, you know, there
- 18:35Speaker 3: was always like a dude at a party standing at
- 18:37Speaker 3: the corner like rapping.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Oh, the one guy at the party with like a
- 18:40Speaker 4: rolly ciggy and he's rapping forever.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 18:44Speaker 4: I mean, if you're asking if I think it's hot, no.
- 18:47Speaker 4: But I mean, look, I don't think Tom Hardy's rapping
- 18:50Speaker 4: sounds bad. I just think that music, I don't know.
- 18:53Speaker 4: The song itself isn't great to me.
- 18:54Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I won't be listening to it. No.
- 18:56Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 3: But you've got to be a big rap fan.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah, what did you think, Sean, as the muso? I mean,
- 19:01Speaker 1: it passes.
- 19:01Speaker 6: It was rap.
- 19:03Speaker 3: It was rap, yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 6: But yeah, maybe knowing he's an actor turned rapper.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Marky Mark did that. Sorry, Mark Wahlberg did that and
- 19:11Speaker 3: called himself Marky Mark.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Yeah. But I think the thing with.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Rapping as well is to be a singer, you've got
- 19:18Speaker 4: to be able to hold a tune and know pitch
- 19:19Speaker 4: and things like that. It's much easier to drop a
- 19:21Speaker 4: rap album where you can just kind of talk with
- 19:23Speaker 4: a bit of flow.
- 19:25Speaker 3: To be a good rapper, you don't have to be
- 19:26Speaker 3: able to sing at all, right?
- 19:27Speaker 1: You've still got to have flow, though.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Right.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Because some people don't have that, and then they can't
- 19:32Speaker 1: rap either.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Like you.
- 19:33Speaker 1: You'd be terrible at anything musical.
- 19:35Speaker 6: Anything?
- 19:36Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 19:36Speaker 3: You can't even clap.
- 19:38Speaker 1: In time to a beat.
- 19:39Speaker 3: No, I've tried.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you have tried and failed many a time.
- 19:42Speaker 3: No, I don't do it really well.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Are you looking for Marky Mark?
- 19:44Speaker 3: I am, and it's taken a while, but let's have
- 19:46Speaker 3: a look.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:46Speaker 6: Wait, was he a rapper first and then an actor?
- 19:49Speaker 5: No. no, no.
- 19:50Speaker 3: He was an actor and then, but you know what?
- 19:53Speaker 3: This is a really good song. A model too. I
- 19:55Speaker 3: really like it. Oh, it's a good song, yeah. Where's he?
- 20:00Speaker 1: Well, you started it from the hook.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Yeah, he goes, come on, come on. Yeah, yo, what's
- 20:05Speaker 3: about that time? Yeah, that stuff. Oh, you want to
- 20:07Speaker 3: hear it from the start then?
- 20:09Speaker 1: I just wanted to hear any of him. Here we go.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Here.
- 20:12Speaker 3: That's Mark. You feel it, baby. You never heard this? No,
- 20:18Speaker 3: I haven't.
- 20:18Speaker 6: Just hearing him say, you feel it, baby.
- 20:20Speaker 4: When you realise who it is, yeah, it's funnier. So anyway,
- 20:25Speaker 4: you can listen to that on the way home in
- 20:26Speaker 4: your car, Mikey.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I'll use Apple Music so I don't have Spotify.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Oh, you're one of those.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Actually, no, I only have iHeart, the free iHeart app.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Go and get it.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Oh, just knocked the whole bell over.
- 20:37Speaker 3: The plug bell.
- 20:38Speaker 6: That bell needs WD-40 or something.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Honestly, he uses it too much as well.
- 20:43Speaker 4: I also want to talk about the new GTA 6
- 20:45Speaker 4: game that's coming out in November. It is like the
- 20:49Speaker 4: most highly anticipated game I think of all time. Everyone
- 20:52Speaker 4: is so– I reckon people are buying PlayStations and things
- 20:55Speaker 4: just specifically to play this game.
- 20:57Speaker 1: And as we're getting.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Closer to its release date, we're slowly finding out more
- 21:00Speaker 4: and more about what we can expect from the game. Now,
- 21:02Speaker 4: over the weekend, the first big official look came out
- 21:05Speaker 4: on Netflix and So we could see more about the
- 21:08Speaker 4: gameplay and things like that.
- 21:09Speaker 1: But something everyone's talking about online.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Is the fact that you can have this optional romance
- 21:15Speaker 4: story between the co-lead characters, Jason and Lucia. So basically
- 21:19Speaker 4: you can choose to, like you start out as a
- 21:23Speaker 4: couple and you can choose to maintain that relationship and
- 21:26Speaker 4: And things like not responding to her text messages will
- 21:29Speaker 4: negatively impact the relationship. You also have to take her
- 21:32Speaker 4: on dates and things like that to make sure that
- 21:35Speaker 4: you're treating her well.
- 21:37Speaker 3: So you've got to date this woman on the game.
- 21:39Speaker 4: Well, you can also choose whether you cheat on her
- 21:41Speaker 4: or stay faithful to her. But there's women online that
- 21:46Speaker 4: are banning their partners from playing it because they view.
- 21:50Speaker 1: That is cheating.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Oh, come on.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Virtual cheating. I'm going to read you this one comment.
- 21:55Speaker 4: And now it's not only the maintaining the relationship part,
- 21:58Speaker 4: it's the fact that you can also sleep with this
- 22:01Speaker 4: fake woman character in the game.
- 22:03Speaker 1: So this is one of the comments.
- 22:05Speaker 4: My fiance will not be playing GTA 6 under any circumstances.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I just saw it.
- 22:10Speaker 4: And in this game, you have to maintain a relationship
- 22:12Speaker 4: with a girl, text her, and she gets angry if
- 22:14Speaker 4: you don't reply. You also have to take her on dates.
- 22:16Speaker 4: You can sleep with her. And there's a nudist community.
- 22:19Speaker 4: There's literally a part of the game where your goal
- 22:21Speaker 4: is to sleep with her. There are strip clubs where
- 22:23Speaker 4: you can also F. Do not let your boyfriend, fiance,
- 22:26Speaker 4: or husband play GTA 6.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Categorically, no.
- 22:29Speaker 4: And it seems to me that the entire male population
- 22:31Speaker 4: is slowly degrading now.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Why do you fall in love with pixels?
- 22:35Speaker 4: I think this is the beginning of something like Black
- 22:38Speaker 4: Mirror in real life.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Oh, she's a punish. A total punish. But I mean,
- 22:42Speaker 3: it just requires a lot of effort. I wouldn't bother.
- 22:45Speaker 3: trying to maintain a relationship with a virtual girlfriend. But
- 22:47Speaker 3: would you care, Nat, if your fiancé was doing that?
- 22:51Speaker 3: What if he was texting her a lot in the game? Oh, well,
- 22:54Speaker 3: I mean, you're a weirdo.
- 22:55Speaker 1: But, like, I think these are the same women that see, like,
- 22:59Speaker 1: porn as cheating as well.
- 23:00Speaker 3: There are some women like that, yeah.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Oh, there's a lot of women like that.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Cheating.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think their issue with it, and correct
- 23:06Speaker 4: me if I'm wrong if you're one of these women,
- 23:08Speaker 4: is the fact that maybe they're not trying to sleep
- 23:10Speaker 4: with you, but they're... trying they're pleasuring themselves via porn
- 23:13Speaker 4: so it's a choice of not being intimate with you
- 23:16Speaker 4: in favor of being intimate with yourself whilst watching other women.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Well i understand that if the guy was always going
- 23:22Speaker 3: to the bedroom doing his own thing yes and not
- 23:24Speaker 3: wanting to get it on with you that would be
- 23:26Speaker 3: a problem.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Yes and that would be an issue but it's not
- 23:27Speaker 1: with the porn itself then there's bigger issues there.
- 23:29Speaker 3: No but some are like don't look at another naked.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Yeah other women i believe truly think that just seeing
- 23:34Speaker 4: another woman naked but also it's like come on how
- 23:37Speaker 4: tight's the rope here Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Like, just he's no kicker.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Can't do anything.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 23:42Speaker 3: All right, let's do it. Your chance to win thousands.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Right now, our pop quiz, we do it every morning
- 23:46Speaker 3: at 7. We do it at 8. And it is
- 23:48Speaker 3: our You Get A Day as well.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Yes, which means just by getting on air this morning,
- 23:52Speaker 4: you win a double pass to see Bruno Mars live
- 23:55Speaker 4: in concert.
- 23:56Speaker 1: And that double pass is going to need you, Stephanie. Congratulations.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Well done.
- 24:00Speaker 12: Oh, my gosh.
- 24:01Speaker 7: Thank you so much.
- 24:03Speaker 6: No worries.
- 24:04Speaker 4: So you've got the double pass, but now's your chance.
- 24:06Speaker 1: At a grand. Are you ready to play?
- 24:08Speaker 11: Yes, I'm so ready.
- 24:10Speaker 4: All right, best of luck. Let's get straight into it
- 24:12Speaker 4: with question number one. What is the maximum prize that
- 24:15Speaker 4: you can win on Millionaire Hot Seat?
- 24:19Speaker 12: A million dollars.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Dolly Parton had a song called Nine to what? Five.
- 24:25Speaker 1: What kind of food is sold at Zambrero?
- 24:27Speaker 8: Mexican food.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Name a celebrity chef.
- 24:32Speaker 11: Gordon Ramsay.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Currently, what is the newest version of the iPhone?
- 24:36Speaker 10: The Seventeen promo.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Which Bruno Mars song included the lyrics, Julio served that scampi?
- 24:44Speaker 12: Uptown Funk.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Which emoji is used to represent a bum?
- 24:48Speaker 12: A peach emoji.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Which pop star just postponed the Australian leg of their
- 24:54Speaker 4: big-ass world tour?
- 24:58Speaker 1: It's a guy.
- 24:59Speaker 8: Can I pass that one?
- 24:59Speaker 7: Yep.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Pearson Hardman is a New York law firm in which
- 25:03Speaker 4: TV show?
- 25:03Speaker 14: Chips.
- 25:05Speaker 4: In the AFL, the qualifying final between Fremantle and Hawthorne
- 25:09Speaker 4: will be played.
- 25:10Speaker 1: At which stadium?
- 25:13Speaker 8: Um, MCG?
- 25:13Speaker 4: Alright, let's go back to which pop star has just
- 25:17Speaker 4: postponed the Australian leg of his.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Big-ass world tour? Alex Warren.
- 25:23Speaker 4: No, that one was post Maloney. You did really well.
- 25:27Speaker 4: You got seven out of 10. The only other ones
- 25:29Speaker 4: you got incorrect. Bruno Mars, Julio served that scampi is in.
- 25:32Speaker 1: That's what I like.
- 25:34Speaker 4: And then that Fremantle Hawthorne game is going to be
- 25:37Speaker 4: played at Optus Stadium in Perth.
- 25:39Speaker 1: But you still got the double pass to go see Bruno. Congrats.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Enjoy.
- 25:42Speaker 11: Oh, my gosh.
- 25:43Speaker 8: Thank you so much.
- 25:44Speaker 15: You're welcome, honey.
- 25:45Speaker 8: You don't even understand how excited I am.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Well done.
- 25:48Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 3: And more chances are you get a day continues.
- 25:50Speaker 7: All right.
- 25:51Speaker 3: So all day, if you get on air, you are
- 25:53Speaker 3: going to see Bruno Mars live in another pop quiz
- 25:57Speaker 3: coming up just before eight. Now, Nat.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yo.
- 26:00Speaker 3: You're pregnant.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Yep.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Gender.
- 26:03Speaker 1: As a girl.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 3: What's her name? Not telling you. I keep trying. But
- 26:07Speaker 3: you got a new pregnancy rule for your fiancé. It
- 26:11Speaker 3: sounds very controlling.
- 26:13Speaker 4: No, I'm thinking of introducing this rule because I ran
- 26:16Speaker 4: into a couple on the weekend. That woman is also
- 26:18Speaker 4: pregnant and she has it with her partner.
- 26:20Speaker 1: And I was like, oh. That's actually a good idea.
- 26:23Speaker 1: So I'm thinking of introducing it, but I do, yeah,
- 26:25Speaker 1: I don't know if it's going a bit far. I
- 26:26Speaker 1: think it's fair.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yeah, rules in relationships are always really healthy.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Not a rule per se, but I think he should
- 26:31Speaker 4: be doing it out of respect for me.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Oh, here we go. All right, we'll find out what
- 26:35Speaker 3: it is next right here. You're on Kiss. Good morning.
- 26:40Speaker 3: All right, you're pregnant. Gender is?
- 26:42Speaker 7: Girl.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Yeah, name is?
- 26:44Speaker 1: Not telling.
- 26:45Speaker 7: Right.
- 26:46Speaker 3: And now you're thinking of putting a rule in place
- 26:48Speaker 3: for your fiancé.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Over the weekend, we were out and about and we
- 26:51Speaker 4: ran into another couple who were also expecting a baby.
- 26:55Speaker 4: And we were talking and everything and it somehow came up.
- 26:57Speaker 4: We're just like sharing boring pregnancy stuff I won't get into.
- 26:59Speaker 4: But it somehow came up that because I think I
- 27:02Speaker 4: brought up the fact that all I want is a drink.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Like I just, a lot of pregnant women say that
- 27:07Speaker 4: when they get pregnant, that they couldn't think of anything worse.
- 27:10Speaker 4: And I, maybe it's the women that got like a
- 27:11Speaker 4: lot of nausea, which I didn't get. So like all.
- 27:14Speaker 3: You really want an alcoholic drink.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Well, the sun's up. All I want is to go
- 27:17Speaker 1: to a long lunch and have a cocktail.
- 27:19Speaker 4: And obviously I'm not going to, I'm also not one
- 27:21Speaker 4: of those women that even believes in like one glass
- 27:23Speaker 4: of wine is okay.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Like I'm just not doing it.
- 27:25Speaker 3: What's the deal there? Cause like they, they, I think
- 27:28Speaker 3: they changed the guidelines, didn't they?
- 27:30Speaker 1: So as far as I know, no amount of drinking
- 27:33Speaker 1: is like considered safe.
- 27:35Speaker 3: And why even bother if you can't have more than one?
- 27:37Speaker 4: I know some women do one, but like as far
- 27:40Speaker 4: as research that I've seen shows, it's like they, no
- 27:44Speaker 4: significant research can determine that it's like, it's, any amount
- 27:47Speaker 4: of alcohol is completely safe so just go zero and
- 27:50Speaker 4: that's what i think i'm like i'm not one to
- 27:53Speaker 4: like when i have a steak i don't have to
- 27:55Speaker 4: have a red so like you know i'm just i'm
- 27:57Speaker 4: drinking to get drunk not for enjoyment so yeah when
- 28:00Speaker 4: i'm saying i feel like a cocktail it's because i
- 28:02Speaker 4: love the feeling of getting a buzz during the day
- 28:04Speaker 4: in the sun and you know it's all the thing
- 28:06Speaker 4: that comes with it so i was talking about how
- 28:08Speaker 4: much i miss that oh.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Dr kiss is called in actually hello dr kiss Yes,
- 28:13Speaker 3: good morning.
- 28:14Speaker 7: Morning.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Any level of alcohol safe or just pregnant women should
- 28:18Speaker 3: stay away completely?
- 28:20Speaker 16: Look, the guidelines are always going to say zero alcohol.
- 28:23Speaker 16: We know a truckload of alcohol leads to fetal alcohol
- 28:26Speaker 16: syndrome and babies really getting very unwell. We know zero
- 28:29Speaker 16: is not going to give any effect. Now, some doctors
- 28:32Speaker 16: say maybe one or two through the entire pregnancy, but
- 28:36Speaker 16: the bottom line is zero, zip, nothing.
- 28:39Speaker 4: So your recommendation would be doing what I do and
- 28:42Speaker 4: just having nothing?
- 28:44Speaker 16: Correct.
- 28:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Well, there we go. Thank you, Dr.
- 28:45Speaker 7: Kiss.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Boring, but I'm being safe.
- 28:47Speaker 11: No, no, no.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Thank you, Doc. Yeah, we'll see you later in the week.
- 28:50Speaker 4: So, yeah, like we were chatting about that and the
- 28:53Speaker 4: fact that I was missing alcohol. And then I mentioned that–
- 28:56Speaker 4: so my thing at the moment is– I kind of,
- 28:59Speaker 4: I'm trying really hard not to resent Cain because my
- 29:03Speaker 4: life has already changed. Even though I haven't had the baby,
- 29:05Speaker 4: I may as well have. Like I'm already not able
- 29:08Speaker 4: to do things that I once was.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Like drink.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Like drink and just, you know, even we're looking at
- 29:12Speaker 4: trips and I can't go to certain countries without a risk.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Like it's just, there's all these things that already impact
- 29:18Speaker 4: my life. And then I'm watching him having beers. He's
- 29:22Speaker 4: not taking the piss and going out every weekend, but
- 29:24Speaker 4: we go over to my parents' house and he'll have
- 29:26Speaker 4: a beer with my dad.
- 29:27Speaker 3: No worries at all.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And it's just like, it's so unfair.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Oh, come on. It's so unfair. Are you thinking of
- 29:35Speaker 3: stopping him from drinking?
- 29:36Speaker 4: So this couple told us that he, out of solidarity,
- 29:41Speaker 4: isn't drinking either throughout the pregnancy.
- 29:43Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, how nice is that?
- 29:47Speaker 3: I know blokes that do that. Just nuts. Sean, did
- 29:50Speaker 3: you not drink?
- 29:51Speaker 9: My partner's pregnant right now and we went away on
- 29:54Speaker 9: the weekend and I put away a couple of bottles
- 29:57Speaker 9: of wine.
- 29:57Speaker 1: You put away, you deleted a couple of bottles of wine. Yeah,
- 29:59Speaker 1: but like.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Kane's immediate response was like, yeah, righto. And he's not
- 30:03Speaker 4: going out and getting drunk and he's not being extreme.
- 30:05Speaker 4: So for that, I'm very thankful. I mean, I can't
- 30:09Speaker 4: stop him from doing anything, but I will make his
- 30:11Speaker 4: life hell the next day when he's hung over.
- 30:13Speaker 1: That's for sure.
- 30:13Speaker 3: What about a big night out with the boys?
- 30:15Speaker 1: Nah, he can, I guess if he wants.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Oh, he really can't, can he?
- 30:19Speaker 11: No, okay.
- 30:20Speaker 1: He can, he can do whatever he wants. He can
- 30:22Speaker 1: do whatever he wants, truly.
- 30:23Speaker 4: But it's that I thought, should every male just be
- 30:27Speaker 4: not drinking in like, you know, to support their loving girlfriend,
- 30:31Speaker 4: fiance or wife who is carrying their child and doing
- 30:34Speaker 4: the right thing by the child?
- 30:36Speaker 5: No.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Really?
- 30:37Speaker 6: No.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Is it not the least you could do? Like our
- 30:40Speaker 4: body's going through so much stress.
- 30:42Speaker 3: I reckon you should not go out for wild benders
- 30:45Speaker 3: towards the last month so you're available to take her
- 30:47Speaker 3: to the hospital. But apart from that, you should be
- 30:50Speaker 3: able to do what you want. I mean, I can
- 30:52Speaker 3: just imagine if I'm sitting on the couch having a
- 30:54Speaker 3: beer and you're getting resented.
- 30:56Speaker 1: No, and I wouldn't for that, like, in all honesty. But, like,
- 30:59Speaker 1: it's just.
- 31:00Speaker 3: You'd prefer he didn't drink, though. Yeah.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know.
- 31:02Speaker 3: You don't know you're on the fence.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Because I feel like as soon as that guy said it,
- 31:06Speaker 4: I was like, you know what? That is a very
- 31:08Speaker 4: nice thing to do. Like, it's when we're carrying the child,
- 31:11Speaker 4: going through the hormones and everything else that comes with it,
- 31:14Speaker 4: just don't have a beer.
- 31:15Speaker 3: What a sacrifice. All right, Sean, you don't agree with this.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Clearly you deleted a few bottles on the weekend. Let's
- 31:21Speaker 3: hear from you.
- 31:22Speaker 4: I reckon there's a lot of men that have done
- 31:23Speaker 4: it because I've even seen TV commercials where they're like, oh,
- 31:26Speaker 4: we're not drinking.
- 31:26Speaker 1: We're trying to have a baby.
- 31:27Speaker 6: My mate did it for his partner. Thank you. Yeah,
- 31:30Speaker 6: he did. Why?
- 31:31Speaker 9: Well, he was going pretty hard in the lead up
- 31:34Speaker 9: and then he sort of took a rest and then
- 31:36Speaker 9: he said, oh, well, she's pregnant so I won't drink.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Oh.
- 31:40Speaker 3: All my mates are wild alcoholics. I don't think any
- 31:42Speaker 3: of them that have had kids have done it.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Well, my partner's not drinking at the moment because he's
- 31:44Speaker 4: about to fight in two days. But normally when he
- 31:47Speaker 4: finishes his fight camp.
- 31:48Speaker 3: He'll go hard.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Well, he will celebrate if he wins and things like that.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Is he allowed to do that?
- 31:52Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 31:53Speaker 3: You don't know? All right. For you, 131065, what do
- 31:56Speaker 3: you think? Should Nat's fiancé stop drinking while she's pregnant?
- 32:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I've got another six months in solidarity. He should
- 32:03Speaker 4: not drink for the remainder of that time.
- 32:05Speaker 3: That's a long time. All right, 131065, we'll take your
- 32:08Speaker 3: calls coming up here on KISS. You'll get to see
- 32:11Speaker 3: Bruno Mars as well if you get on air.
- 32:12Speaker 4: No drinks for me at the moment because I'm up
- 32:15Speaker 4: the duff. So, yeah, look, I'm struggling a little bit. However,
- 32:19Speaker 4: I'm not going to do it. I'm not even going
- 32:20Speaker 4: to have the one drink a day that apparently some
- 32:22Speaker 4: doctors recommend.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Or Dr. Kiss was just on air and said zero.
- 32:25Speaker 7: Dr.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Kiss said the safest thing is zero, which is what
- 32:27Speaker 4: I've been doing. And fine, it's all the sacrifices you
- 32:30Speaker 4: make when you're having children. But we ran into a
- 32:32Speaker 4: couple on the weekend and the man in that couple
- 32:36Speaker 4: is isn't drinking in solidarity with his partner and to
- 32:39Speaker 4: support her because her body's going to go through so
- 32:41Speaker 4: much in pregnancy that he's like, it's the least I
- 32:44Speaker 4: can do. And I thought, should I be enforcing that
- 32:46Speaker 4: rule in my relationship? Because it seems like the fair
- 32:49Speaker 4: thing to do. So I'm taking calls. Your answer is no,
- 32:53Speaker 4: but you're also a pig.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Sorry. What? Jesus.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Sorry, baby bro.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Did you just call me baby? Oh, yeah. See what
- 33:06Speaker 3: I mean? You just proved that you're a pig. I
- 33:08Speaker 3: don't think my partner, Alana, would ask me to stop
- 33:11Speaker 3: drinking when she was pregnant.
- 33:12Speaker 4: And I haven't asked him yet. I just think when
- 33:14Speaker 4: they said it, I was like, you know what? That's
- 33:16Speaker 4: actually really nice.
- 33:17Speaker 5: All right.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Well, your call's on air. Shouldn't that enforce a law
- 33:20Speaker 3: where her fiancé has got to stop drinking?
- 33:24Speaker 1: Yep.
- 33:25Speaker 3: We'll go to the high court. 131065, if you want
- 33:29Speaker 3: to comment. By the way, every caller that gets on
- 33:31Speaker 3: air with their opinion right here is going to see
- 33:33Speaker 3: Bruno Mars. Yeah, because we're doing our You Get A
- 33:37Speaker 3: Day where every call on air goes to Bruno Mars. Melissa,
- 33:41Speaker 3: what do you think?
- 33:43Speaker 12: I think he should. Look, I had three kids. My husband,
- 33:47Speaker 12: he drank, but she's doing all the hard work. She
- 33:51Speaker 12: is growing a baby inside. So I think there's no
- 33:54Speaker 12: harm in them stop drinking for nine months.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but your partner didn't. Your partner didn't do that?
- 33:59Speaker 12: No, we were very young when we had kids.
- 34:02Speaker 4: Did you kind of like resent him every time you
- 34:04Speaker 4: saw him have a beer or whatever?
- 34:06Speaker 1: Were you just like, you bastard?
- 34:08Speaker 12: No, you know what? I actually didn't because I stopped
- 34:11Speaker 12: drinking myself anyway. But I do think it's a good thing.
- 34:16Speaker 12: I think they should stop. You don't get to. You
- 34:18Speaker 12: get morning sickness. You're growing a baby.
- 34:20Speaker 3: That's the least you could do. Yeah, okay. Nelson. Hello, Nelson.
- 34:24Speaker 14: Hey, how's it going?
- 34:25Speaker 3: Yeah, good, man. What's your opinion here?
- 34:28Speaker 16: I reckon no, because why should that affect his life?
- 34:31Speaker 3: Yeah, why should anything, why should his life change at all?
- 34:33Speaker 1: Why should having a kid affect his life at all?
- 34:36Speaker 3: I mean, to be very fair and practical, it doesn't
- 34:39Speaker 3: matter whether he drinks or not.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Oh, it's not going to impact the baby, no.
- 34:43Speaker 3: So why should he?
- 34:44Speaker 1: It's just, I don't know.
- 34:45Speaker 3: To make you feel better.
- 34:46Speaker 6: Yeah. Leah. Hi, Leah.
- 34:48Speaker 3: What's your point of view here?
- 34:50Speaker 10: My point of view is you are growing a human
- 34:52Speaker 10: being inside of your body. And as a woman who
- 34:54Speaker 10: has grown three human beings inside of her body, who
- 34:56Speaker 10: wanted to kill her husband from stepping into a room
- 34:58Speaker 10: for breathing, thank you to the hormones, you should absolutely
- 35:02Speaker 10: be able to ask him to not drink. And if
- 35:04Speaker 10: he doesn't stop drinking, that could be a problem for
- 35:06Speaker 10: the rest of your marriage.
- 35:09Speaker 4: So you're saying, though, in your pregnancy, your hormones were
- 35:12Speaker 4: so out of whack that him breathing bothered you?
- 35:16Speaker 10: Him walking into a room and breathing bothered me. He
- 35:19Speaker 10: should have stayed outside and breathed non-oxygen air because I
- 35:22Speaker 10: was growing a human being for the third time.
- 35:24Speaker 3: What a lovely relationship.
- 35:27Speaker 10: Oh, my husband's amazing. My husband didn't drink. I don't drink.
- 35:30Speaker 10: And you know what? He left the room because he understood.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Good on you, Leah. Anne's on.
- 35:36Speaker 14: Hi, Anne.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Hi, guys. What do you think?
- 35:39Speaker 13: Let him drink.
- 35:40Speaker 11: Oh, we had four children.
- 35:42Speaker 3: And you know what?
- 35:43Speaker 8: Enjoy watching The Hangover because it's fantastic.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Sean, how's that hangover for you?
- 35:49Speaker 6: Not good.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:50Speaker 4: That's one thing I don't miss is as much as
- 35:53Speaker 4: I'm saying I'd love the cocktails and all that stuff.
- 35:55Speaker 4: is I do not miss a hangover.
- 35:57Speaker 3: No, you must be feeling good every Saturday and Sunday morning, that.
- 36:00Speaker 14: Oh, I'm up.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Unusually.
- 36:02Speaker 4: I'm up at the craziest hours. I'm going for walks,
- 36:05Speaker 4: and people are still, like, getting home from a night.
- 36:07Speaker 4: I'm going for walks before the sun's up.
- 36:09Speaker 3: You know, if she does make you do it, Cain,
- 36:10Speaker 3: do what my mate's got. We discovered when we went
- 36:12Speaker 3: and had beers at my mate's house. It's really bad, actually.
- 36:16Speaker 3: He's got, like, a hidden hip flask above the bar fridge. What?
- 36:21Speaker 3: And apparently he goes out into the garage and just
- 36:24Speaker 3: swings on this hip flask. Seriously? And his wife's not
- 36:26Speaker 3: even pregnant.
- 36:27Speaker 1: He's got a drinking problem. That's beyond this.
- 36:32Speaker 3: He needs help. So if you make Cain do that,
- 36:35Speaker 3: I'd just be getting a hip flask. And I hear
- 36:37Speaker 3: vodka you can't smell on anyone's breath.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:39Speaker 3: So if you enforce that law.
- 36:42Speaker 1: There's always ways around it.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's good, isn't it, if you're hiding a
- 36:45Speaker 3: hip flask of vodka.
- 36:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the start to all good marriages. Hey, coming
- 36:49Speaker 4: up next, I've got a celeb hit for you. Which
- 36:52Speaker 4: celebrity gained weight on Ozempic?
- 36:55Speaker 3: Gained weight?
- 36:57Speaker 1: I'll tell you next.
- 36:57Speaker 3: How's that work? All right, you're on KISS. Good morning,
- 36:59Speaker 3: it's Mikey and Nat. All right, thanks, Sean. Let's go
- 37:02Speaker 3: to Nat and get a hit of celeb news. What
- 37:04Speaker 3: do you got?
- 37:04Speaker 4: So, Aliyah Baldwin, who is the sister of Hayley Bieber,
- 37:08Speaker 4: formerly Hayley Baldwin, obviously, and the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin,
- 37:12Speaker 4: has found herself safe from prison time after she did
- 37:15Speaker 4: something that you would not expect. So, this happened two
- 37:19Speaker 4: years ago, February 24th, 2024. She allegedly threw a used tampon.
- 37:26Speaker 1: At a bartender.
- 37:28Speaker 11: What?
- 37:28Speaker 13: Yes.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Herbs?
- 37:30Speaker 1: We don't know. But she did that. And she also
- 37:33Speaker 1: kicked a male in the genitals.
- 37:35Speaker 4: So she was charged with simple battery, simple assault, battery
- 37:38Speaker 4: and criminal trespass.
- 37:39Speaker 1: But she will avoid jail time.
- 37:41Speaker 3: She needs help, I think.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Is that not like one of the worst things you
- 37:45Speaker 3: can do?
- 37:46Speaker 4: I don't even know how her brain went to that,
- 37:48Speaker 4: but also being Hayley Bieber or Hayley Baldwin formally, imagine
- 37:52Speaker 4: like you're one of the biggest names in the world
- 37:54Speaker 4: married to one of the biggest celebrities and your sister's
- 37:57Speaker 4: out there doing that.
- 37:57Speaker 8: I know.
- 37:58Speaker 3: What is it? You can choose your friends. You can't
- 38:00Speaker 3: choose your family.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I mean, yeah. I don't know much about this lady,
- 38:04Speaker 1: but that is insane.
- 38:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Also, you know Leslie Mann? She's that funny actress you'd
- 38:10Speaker 4: know in movies like The Other Woman. She was in
- 38:12Speaker 4: Knocked Up and she played Paul Rudd's wife in Knocked Up.
- 38:15Speaker 4: She's married to a film director and comedian named Judd Apatow. Now,
- 38:19Speaker 4: he directed movies like Knocked Up, 40-Year-Old Virgin, This Is 40,
- 38:22Speaker 4: and Trainwreck with Amy Schumer and stuff like that.
- 38:25Speaker 1: So he's done a lot of stuff.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Leslie was on one of the talk shows and she
- 38:30Speaker 4: was talking about the fact that he jumped on Ozempic
- 38:33Speaker 4: because he gained a bit of weight.
- 38:34Speaker 1: However, he gained weight.
- 38:36Speaker 3: On Ozempic. Instead. Yeah, take a listen.
- 38:39Speaker 15: He's on Ozempic. He likes to talk about his Ozempic.
- 38:43Speaker 15: And he has gained like 15 pounds in.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Four years.
- 38:50Speaker 15: And he likes to, he's on the highest dose. And
- 38:54Speaker 15: he likes to outrun the feeling that you get when you, like,
- 39:01Speaker 15: that Ozempic gives you to stop eating. He likes to, like,
- 39:05Speaker 15: override it or outrun it. He's very proud of the
- 39:10Speaker 15: fact that the pharmaceutical companies don't have control over him.
- 39:15Speaker 3: He's, like, gorging himself to, like, try and beat Ozempic.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Because I believe the thing that Ozempic does is stops
- 39:21Speaker 1: your hunger, correct? Like, it doesn't physically shrink your stomach
- 39:24Speaker 1: or anything. It just turns off, like, some sort of
- 39:26Speaker 1: brain thing to make you think you're hungry. So he,
- 39:29Speaker 1: when he... he's not getting the hunger symptoms, he's like, nah,
- 39:32Speaker 1: I'm going to eat.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Why bother?
- 39:35Speaker 6: I know.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Why even pay all the money for a Zempik to
- 39:37Speaker 3: do that? But you know that feeling when you're full
- 39:39Speaker 3: and you literally couldn't eat another thing?
- 39:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 3: That's what he's forcing himself to go through.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Yeah, constantly.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Mental.
- 39:47Speaker 4: You know what's weird, though? Like, you know, some people,
- 39:49Speaker 4: they just have a serving of food and they go,
- 39:51Speaker 4: I'm done.
- 39:51Speaker 1: I have to eat till I'm full.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you as well?
- 39:54Speaker 4: Like are you an eat to your full person? Because
- 39:56Speaker 4: I can't just get like a serving of food and go,
- 39:58Speaker 4: I'm satisfied.
- 39:59Speaker 3: I'm like, no, I could eat more. No, and go
- 40:00Speaker 3: to a buffet. Oh, how good is a buffet?
- 40:03Speaker 1: All you can eat buffets. Oh my God. A breakfast buffet.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I miss a breakfast buffet.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Well, you can't do that.
- 40:09Speaker 1: No, I just haven't been to a hotel in a while.
- 40:11Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Where you can go up and you just get like every,
- 40:13Speaker 1: you get pancakes, then you get toast, then you get
- 40:15Speaker 1: the bacon and eggs.
- 40:16Speaker 3: Don't forget stealing shit for later, like wrapping it in napkins.
- 40:19Speaker 1: You have to take a little muffin for later. If
- 40:21Speaker 1: you don't, what are you doing?
- 40:23Speaker 3: Hey, you want to get more celeb news? You can
- 40:24Speaker 3: get our Kiss Breakfast podcast on the free iHeart app.
- 40:28Speaker 3: One of Australia's most trusted journalists, Michael Usher, is going
- 40:32Speaker 3: to be joining us live in the studio. We're going
- 40:34Speaker 3: to have a chat to him.
- 40:34Speaker 4: He's going to be joining us soon because you might
- 40:37Speaker 4: have missed the announcement. I'm going to be a newsreader.
- 40:39Speaker 4: I'm changing jobs. I'm not going to be executive producer.
- 40:41Speaker 4: I'm going to be the KISS newsreader soon. So we're
- 40:43Speaker 4: going to get in one of the best journalists in
- 40:45Speaker 4: the country to give me some advice. And then also,
- 40:48Speaker 4: I believe the producers have organized some sort of Test
- 40:51Speaker 4: to see if I'm even fit for the role.
- 40:55Speaker 1: So we'll see how I do.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Your uncle is that famous, what's his name?
- 41:00Speaker 1: Robert Penfold.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 4: He's in the family. My dad's told me a million times,
- 41:05Speaker 4: but I don't know. So he's like one of dad's cousins.
- 41:09Speaker 3: There's a bit of blood there.
- 41:11Speaker 4: Yeah, like he's, I don't know, dad's second cousin.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Oh, well, it's meant to be. You're meant to be
- 41:14Speaker 3: a journalist.
- 41:15Speaker 4: Well, yeah, he's a very respected journalist, so maybe it
- 41:18Speaker 4: is in the blood, or maybe I'm just going to
- 41:19Speaker 4: be one big fat failure.
- 41:21Speaker 3: That's true. All right, Michael Arshar is joining us next
- 41:25Speaker 3: right here on Kiss. Taylor Swift's playing for you right now.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Good morning. Yeah, you got Mikey, you got Nat. Amy
- 41:31Speaker 3: Gerard's back next week. It is our You Get A Day.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Every caller on air is going to go see Bruno Mars.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Yep, Bruno Mars brings the romantic tour to Australia in
- 41:42Speaker 4: February and March 2027 with special guests Tyler and Anderson
- 41:45Speaker 4: Parker as DJ Pee Wee. Register for pre-sale now at livenation.com.au.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Your next chance is in, I'd say, the next 20 minutes.
- 41:53Speaker 3: I'm going to say within the next 15 minutes.
- 41:54Speaker 7: Oh.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 41:55Speaker 3: So keep an ear on Kiss. You call in, you
- 41:57Speaker 3: get on air, you're going to see Bruno Mars. We
- 41:59Speaker 3: are doing it all morning until nine. Hey, I was
- 42:03Speaker 3: reading about this. You know, we always laugh at these coaches. Like, oh,
- 42:07Speaker 3: I'm a life coach.
- 42:09Speaker 1: There's an expert for everything these days.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Oh, there'd be a pregnancy coach. You should be getting
- 42:13Speaker 3: one of that.
- 42:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I mean, that's just like a midwife. Or a doctor.
- 42:17Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
- 42:18Speaker 1: You reckon there's someone who claims they're a pregnancy coach. Yeah.
- 42:21Speaker 3: And they usually have no qualification.
- 42:23Speaker 1: No, they never do. That's why they're a coach.
- 42:25Speaker 3: All right. Pregnancy coach. Let's look one up. Nat needs it.
- 42:28Speaker 3: What about this dating coach out of Perth? She's revealed
- 42:31Speaker 3: one of her most memorable clients.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:34Speaker 3: So a guy, he broke up with a woman. After
- 42:39Speaker 3: 14 dates. Keep that in mind. 14 dates. So he
- 42:44Speaker 3: was knowing her pretty well. They went on 14 dates.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I think that's like three months because normally you have
- 42:48Speaker 1: a date a week.
- 42:49Speaker 3: A week, yeah. Maybe you ramp it up to two
- 42:51Speaker 3: a week.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so maybe two to three months of dating, yeah.
- 42:54Speaker 3: The reason he found out she was one year older.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Oh, he's one of your types, Mikey. He clearly doesn't
- 43:03Speaker 1: date older women.
- 43:04Speaker 3: I haven't dated anyone older.
- 43:06Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 43:06Speaker 3: Or my age.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Exactly. Ever.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Oh, back in high school, I had girlfriends in the
- 43:13Speaker 3: same year.
- 43:13Speaker 1: So since high school, you haven't dated anyone even your age.
- 43:18Speaker 1: What's the closest to your age? Like how much younger?
- 43:22Speaker 3: Four years or something.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 43:25Speaker 4: But anyway, 14 dates in, how did he not know
- 43:29Speaker 4: her age?
- 43:30Speaker 3: Well, that's a weird thing, right? I don't know. He
- 43:33Speaker 3: must have, like, found out eventually that she was actually
- 43:35Speaker 3: one year older. By the way, one year older doesn't matter.
- 43:37Speaker 1: One year older means nothing.
- 43:38Speaker 4: But I'd feel 14 dates in, you know the age
- 43:41Speaker 4: of the person you're dating.
- 43:42Speaker 1: But do some people still believe in the rule of, like,
- 43:44Speaker 1: never ask a woman her age?
- 43:45Speaker 3: Maybe that's the thing. How old are you?
- 43:46Speaker 1: 33.
- 43:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and what's the name of your baby you have?
- 43:49Speaker 3: I'm not telling you, you weirdo. I keep trying.
- 43:52Speaker 7: Hey, um.
- 43:53Speaker 3: See, this wouldn't have happened to me for a number
- 43:55Speaker 3: of reasons, but the main one was I would only
- 43:57Speaker 3: ever go on one date.
- 43:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:59Speaker 3: And if I didn't like you, never saw you again.
- 44:01Speaker 3: And I got accused of being like too picky and
- 44:04Speaker 3: not giving them enough time. And, oh, you got to
- 44:06Speaker 3: get to know the person and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 44:08Speaker 3: One date, I feel, in fact, within like five minutes.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:12Speaker 3: You'd know whether there is something there or not.
- 44:13Speaker 1: You can tell if there's a vibe. Yeah, because I
- 44:15Speaker 1: agree with you. One date is all it takes.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Because why.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Get the person invested if you're not even sure of them.
- 44:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 44:20Speaker 1: But it's also, I mean, the issue here is he
- 44:23Speaker 1: liked her. 14 dates, enough. The only problem was that
- 44:27Speaker 1: she was one year older. So he's too picky. You reckon?
- 44:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Women have things they're picky about. Oh, he's got
- 44:33Speaker 3: to be tall, not bald, blah, blah, blah. A guy
- 44:36Speaker 3: can't go out and want to date someone who's one
- 44:37Speaker 3: year older.
- 44:39Speaker 1: I just think that's a bit ridiculous, don't you? Yeah,
- 44:41Speaker 1: that's a bit petty.
- 44:43Speaker 3: You might have a thought on it. 31065, are we
- 44:45Speaker 3: ready for Michael Asher? He's coming up soon.
- 44:48Speaker 4: Yeah, he's going to come in studio to give me
- 44:49Speaker 4: all the lessons I need to be a serious journalist.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. Well, you got the journalism degree.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Of course I do. You just never used it.
- 44:58Speaker 1: No, I did.
- 44:59Speaker 4: I did some journalism work very early on in my career.
- 45:02Speaker 4: But yeah, no, I've never been a newsreader, which is
- 45:05Speaker 4: something Michael Usher knows.
- 45:06Speaker 6: A lot about.
- 45:07Speaker 3: All right. Can Nat be a newsreader? He is going
- 45:10Speaker 3: to put her to the test. That is coming up
- 45:11Speaker 3: here on KISS at 11 to 8 right now. And
- 45:15Speaker 3: Michael Usher is joining us live right now. You would
- 45:18Speaker 3: have heard the news that Nat is stepping into the
- 45:21Speaker 3: newsreader position here at KISS.
- 45:23Speaker 6: I am, yes.
- 45:23Speaker 3: And we thought we'd bring in.
- 45:25Speaker 4: One of the most respected journalists in the country, yes.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Yeah. Good morning, mate. How are you doing? Good.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Welcome to the esteemed club of news anchors in Australia.
- 45:33Speaker 4: Thank you so much. Yeah, I don't have much experience.
- 45:35Speaker 4: I do have a journalism degree, though.
- 45:37Speaker 1: How much do you think that actually matters or is
- 45:39Speaker 1: it all like on the job?
- 45:40Speaker 3: That's bugger all experience.
- 45:41Speaker 6: That'll get you nowhere.
- 45:43Speaker 10: Oh, wow.
- 45:44Speaker 3: So don't bother studying, kids.
- 45:45Speaker 6: It's all in the experience.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 45:48Speaker 6: But look, it's a good start.
- 45:49Speaker 2: But yeah, look, I'll help you along the way.
- 45:52Speaker 1: It's a great thing because you are.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Delivering some– You know, news that sometimes matters, sometimes is informative,
- 45:57Speaker 2: sometimes is entertaining.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Yes.
- 45:59Speaker 6: So there's always a good mix. There's lots of variety.
- 46:01Speaker 3: She hasn't done like the hard yards, right? What's the
- 46:05Speaker 3: hardest story you've had to cover? Maybe, you know, out
- 46:07Speaker 3: on the field or?
- 46:08Speaker 2: Oh, the Iraq war.
- 46:10Speaker 3: You were there?
- 46:10Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 46:11Speaker 2: So, you know, Iraq two or three times and. Lots
- 46:14Speaker 2: of terrorist attacks around the world, which always sound... My
- 46:16Speaker 2: CV is fairly grim. It just goes lurching from one
- 46:20Speaker 2: bad event to another around the world.
- 46:22Speaker 3: That CV is interesting, though.
- 46:24Speaker 4: But it'd be the most difficult because you've got to
- 46:25Speaker 4: know how to present each story, right? So when it's,
- 46:28Speaker 4: you know, there's a bit of light and shade. So
- 46:30Speaker 4: if it is a more serious story, it's tone of voice.
- 46:32Speaker 4: You've got to change all those things. You've got to
- 46:34Speaker 4: sound empathetic. and that's all the stuff that I think
- 46:38Speaker 4: I still need to learn.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Well, we are going to find out because we're going
- 46:41Speaker 3: to do a challenge. Okay. With the autocue, which is
- 46:45Speaker 3: what we'll have here.
- 46:46Speaker 6: Oh, gosh, you're going to have an autocue.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Have you read an autocue yet?
- 46:49Speaker 4: I've done some presenting jobs that required an autocue, but
- 46:53Speaker 4: nothing reading so strictly from a script because the other
- 46:56Speaker 4: thing is you've got to be accurate with journalism and
- 46:58Speaker 4: you can't add any personal opinion. Yeah, so I've got
- 47:00Speaker 4: to read exactly what's being given to me and I
- 47:02Speaker 4: have no idea.
- 47:03Speaker 1: What they've written. It's a bit of a.
- 47:05Speaker 4: A ridiculous script this morning, I think. But I also
- 47:08Speaker 4: don't know what my newsreader voice is because why does every.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Female journalist in the country sound like this?
- 47:14Speaker 6: Please don't do that.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Okay, don't.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Do they train you to do that?
- 47:18Speaker 2: Look, I think it just becomes an affected pattern, right?
- 47:20Speaker 2: Because it's, I don't know, maybe it's insert story here.
- 47:24Speaker 2: It's a default way of speaking. But that era has gone,
- 47:28Speaker 2: if I can give you any advice whatsoever.
- 47:30Speaker 7: Be you.
- 47:31Speaker 6: Everyone just wants to hear you.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Be completely you.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Absolutely you. And the whole skill of newsreading is you've
- 47:37Speaker 2: got a fairly important job. You've got to tell people
- 47:39Speaker 2: what's going on.
- 47:40Speaker 5: Yes.
- 47:40Speaker 2: And people have to listen and understand clearly every word
- 47:44Speaker 2: you say, light, shade, dark, you know, anything.
- 47:46Speaker 3: And be yourself. And be yourself. With the autocue, do
- 47:50Speaker 3: they train you how to use it? Are you like
- 47:52Speaker 3: a Ron Burgundy? They'll put anything up there and you'll
- 47:54Speaker 3: say anything?
- 47:55Speaker 2: It can happen if you're not paying attention because you've
- 47:58Speaker 2: got a lot going on, right?
- 47:59Speaker 6: Because you've got people talking in your ear and this.
- 48:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Chaos in the studio and it can be last minute
- 48:03Speaker 2: and it can just appear on the autocue.
- 48:05Speaker 3: But I read ahead.
- 48:06Speaker 2: I try and get what I'm saying, but my eyes
- 48:09Speaker 2: are looking a few lines down to sort of see
- 48:10Speaker 2: what's coming up.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Because you've got another sheet in front of you as well.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 48:14Speaker 2: But I had one, I only had one on Friday
- 48:17Speaker 2: night and there was a medical term that someone had
- 48:20Speaker 2: put in the script and And it was my fault.
- 48:22Speaker 2: I hadn't got to it early enough and had a
- 48:24Speaker 2: look at it. And I'm reading and I could see
- 48:25Speaker 2: the word coming up and I'm going, I'll just skip
- 48:27Speaker 2: over that quickly.
- 48:28Speaker 3: I just said a very bad condition.
- 48:30Speaker 4: And if I do make a mistake, I notice that
- 48:35Speaker 4: newsreaders will say something and then correct themselves and go like,
- 48:38Speaker 4: I don't know, the words current affair.
- 48:40Speaker 1: It'd be a current affair rather.
- 48:42Speaker 6: You know what? Again, be authentic or be yourself.
- 48:45Speaker 14: You know what?
- 48:45Speaker 2: I've said it a few times, you know, in broadcasts.
- 48:48Speaker 2: you know what, I'm going to try that again and
- 48:50Speaker 2: start the sentence over again.
- 48:51Speaker 1: So just don't say the F word or anything like that.
- 48:54Speaker 6: You'll get dumped off there and get another code complaint.
- 48:56Speaker 3: You don't want that. No, we don't want to go
- 48:58Speaker 3: there again.
- 48:59Speaker 6: No more code complaints.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Are we ready then for the challenge?
- 49:01Speaker 1: I'm really nervous.
- 49:03Speaker 4: Because not only is this my first time reading a
- 49:06Speaker 4: ridiculous script that I know is coming and the producers
- 49:08Speaker 4: have stitched me up with, but I'm reading in front
- 49:10Speaker 4: of Michael Usher.
- 49:11Speaker 1: I know.
- 49:12Speaker 2: I won't judge you much.
- 49:13Speaker 3: No, please do. Be harsh. Tell her whether she's got it.
- 49:15Speaker 6: I'm here to help.
- 49:16Speaker 3: I'm here to help. All right, Nat, you ready?
- 49:18Speaker 5: No.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Okay, are we ready with our teleprompter? We're all good
- 49:21Speaker 3: to go? Okay, here we go, Nat.
- 49:22Speaker 1: And on air in five, four, three, two. Petty pizza
- 49:27Speaker 1: princess paroled from prison.
- 49:29Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I'm Nat Penfold. 23-year-old Monique Mabac says she suffered for...
- 49:36Speaker 1: A snack attack claiming her insatiable hunger.
- 49:39Speaker 4: Forced her to pilfer a piece of pizza from a
- 49:42Speaker 4: piazza in Palermo. It was my back's best friend, 22-year-old
- 49:47Speaker 4: Amanda Huggenkiss, who realised her mate had mooched a margarita
- 49:50Speaker 4: from none other than the enchanting Chanteuse Delta Gudrum.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Huggenkiss was apologetic. Gudrum was apoplectic. Ah! She was Delta
- 50:00Speaker 1: when held to skelter and tried to belt her.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Palermo police, this is going way too quick, apprehended my
- 50:05Speaker 4: back by her neck.
- 50:07Speaker 1: We need to go back up.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Sorry, guys.
- 50:09Speaker 4: Palermo police apprehended my back by her neck, which gave
- 50:12Speaker 4: a loud crack as she was whacked into the back
- 50:14Speaker 4: of a truck on the track. She was detained and
- 50:17Speaker 4: arraigned before being unchained, an experience that left her feeling drained.
- 50:21Speaker 1: To some local news.
- 50:23Speaker 4: The city was overrun last night by adult babies protesting
- 50:27Speaker 4: for the legal recognition of adult babyhood. Dressed in oversized onesies,
- 50:32Speaker 4: sucking on dummies and waving their adorable little blankies, the
- 50:36Speaker 4: marching munchkins brought traffic to a standstill as they chanted,
- 50:39Speaker 4: we want rights and night nights. One adult baby told
- 50:43Speaker 4: Kiss News, me no big person, me stay baby forever.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Another said, Prime Minister is big scaly man, he stinky
- 50:55Speaker 1: bum bum. The protest was organised by the Advocacy group
- 51:00Speaker 1: Babies Organising for Official Babyhood. The president of.
- 51:05Speaker 4: Boob Binky McBottle Bib Cribsworth said in a statement, for
- 51:09Speaker 4: too long have we suckled on the bottle of injustice.
- 51:12Speaker 4: We want our diapies. We want our rights changed. We
- 51:15Speaker 4: will not nap until our demands are met. And if
- 51:17Speaker 4: you stand in our way, you are a big poopy
- 51:20Speaker 4: head meanie pants. The adult babies may chuck another tanty
- 51:25Speaker 4: next week, but for now, the streets.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Are no longer goo goo gaga.
- 51:29Speaker 4: And scientists have finally answered the age-old question, what are
- 51:33Speaker 4: you going to do with all that junk, all that
- 51:36Speaker 4: junk inside your trunk? New research has found that I'm
- 51:40Speaker 4: going to get you drunk and get you love drunk
- 51:43Speaker 4: off my hump.
- 51:45Speaker 6: My hump.
- 51:47Speaker 3: My hump.
- 51:48Speaker 1: My hump.
- 51:51Speaker 3: My hump.
- 51:51Speaker 9: My hump.
- 51:52Speaker 3: My hump. My hump. My hump.
- 51:55Speaker 1: My lovely lady lumps.
- 51:57Speaker 7: Yeah!
- 51:57Speaker 3: Natalie Penfold.
- 51:59Speaker 1: And that's the latest.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Well done.
- 52:00Speaker 1: I'm Nat Penfold, driving these brothers crazy and doing it
- 52:04Speaker 1: on the daily. Now back to Kiss Breakfast.
- 52:06Speaker 3: Oh, not bad. That was stressful.
- 52:10Speaker 6: And you hadn't seen that before.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Never saw that before.
- 52:12Speaker 2: You've done a very good job there.
- 52:13Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 52:14Speaker 3: Bit of a stitch up with the script there.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Oh, total stitch up. But given you've seen that and
- 52:18Speaker 1: do you think I've got what it takes to be
- 52:19Speaker 1: a newsreader?
- 52:20Speaker 6: I'll hand you a Logie right now for Best News Presenter.
- 52:22Speaker 13: There you go.
- 52:23Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Well done.
- 52:24Speaker 1: From Michael Usher himself. A Logie.
- 52:26Speaker 3: Not even on TV and you get a Logie. A
- 52:28Speaker 3: gold Logie? Everyone gets a Logie. No, well done.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Look, as your first read, I'd question your copywriter there
- 52:34Speaker 2: or your producer, but content aside, good news read.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 52:39Speaker 3: Natalie, you'll be a stellar news reader.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Too bad I already signed the contract because that got
- 52:42Speaker 1: me an extra 20K, I reckon.
- 52:43Speaker 3: What Michael Usher said right there.
- 52:45Speaker 6: I endorse you.
- 52:46Speaker 3: Well done.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Thank you so much. It's a great fun gig, so
- 52:48Speaker 1: go for it. And can you officially be my mentor?
- 52:50Speaker 3: I'm there. Anytime. There we go. Michael Usher, well done.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 52:57Speaker 3: Oh, Natalie, I've spilt my pretzels everywhere.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Oh, they're gone everywhere. You have. Mikey snacks like a child.
- 53:05Speaker 4: So he has sultanas every morning, but those little boxes
- 53:08Speaker 4: that his hands can barely fit into. And then he
- 53:11Speaker 4: also has a packet of pretzels or sometimes even popcorn.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the pretzels just went everywhere.
- 53:17Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a little salty on your side, but that's okay.
- 53:19Speaker 4: We are playing the Pop Quiz. We do it every
- 53:22Speaker 4: morning for thousands of dollars in cash, but today is
- 53:24Speaker 4: a special day. It is a You Get A Day,
- 53:26Speaker 4: which means that if you get on air and just
- 53:28Speaker 4: for even playing the Pop Quiz right now, you're going
- 53:30Speaker 4: to win tickets to see Bruno Mars live in concert.
- 53:34Speaker 4: And playing for the Pop Quiz right now and scoring
- 53:37Speaker 4: that Bruno Mars double pass is you, Melina.
- 53:40Speaker 3: Hello. What?
- 53:43Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 53:45Speaker 7: Hi.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Hi.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Oh, is she crying?
- 53:47Speaker 3: Crying or bad phone?
- 53:49Speaker 8: No, I'm so excited.
- 53:50Speaker 11: Sorry, is my phone bad?
- 53:52Speaker 3: No, no, you're all right. You're crying.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Oh, hey, good.
- 53:55Speaker 8: No, I'm just so excited.
- 53:56Speaker 11: I can't even, like, my heart is beating so fast.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Oh, well, congratulations. You got the Bruno tickets.
- 54:01Speaker 4: You don't even have to do anything for those, but
- 54:04Speaker 4: you still have 10 questions standing in the way of
- 54:06Speaker 4: winning $ 1, 000 cash, which would.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Be a double win here. So are you ready to go?
- 54:12Speaker 8: Sure.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Best of luck, Melina. Question number one.
- 54:16Speaker 4: Whose songs include Grenade, Locked Out of Heaven and I
- 54:19Speaker 4: Just Might?
- 54:21Speaker 1: How many kilometres are in a standard marathon?
- 54:24Speaker 12: 42?
- 54:28Speaker 1: Sorry, we can't have people in the background helping you, Del.
- 54:32Speaker 1: When hosting Australian Idol, Osher Ginsberg was known by which name?
- 54:35Speaker 13: Oh, I have no idea.
- 54:38Speaker 8: Can I skip that?
- 54:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Name a villain from the Spider-Man movies.
- 54:42Speaker 11: Oh, Green Goblin.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Who's older, Sophie Monk or Ali Langdon?
- 54:45Speaker 8: Sophie Monk.
- 54:49Speaker 1: When is Father's Day?
- 54:50Speaker 8: September 9th.
- 54:55Speaker 4: Which adult cartoon series has the characters Stan, Kyle, Cartman
- 54:59Speaker 4: and Kenny?
- 55:01Speaker 7: Oh, South Park.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Name a song by Kate Miller Heidke.
- 55:07Speaker 11: No idea.
- 55:09Speaker 4: Which podcast name, sorry, which podcast is D-O-A-C short for?
- 55:15Speaker 15: D-O-A-C.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I don't know. Pass.
- 55:19Speaker 4: And what's the name of Aussie billionaire Adrian Portelli's rewards program?
- 55:24Speaker 11: Oh, no, I don't know that either.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Awkward. You got three out of ten correct. Let's go
- 55:29Speaker 1: over some of the ones you passed or got wrong. So,
- 55:31Speaker 1: Osher Ginsberg used to call himself Andrew G.
- 55:33Speaker 3: What, he doesn't anymore?
- 55:34Speaker 1: No, he's Osher Ginsberg now. Don't call him Andrew G. No,
- 55:37Speaker 1: he gets offended, I know.
- 55:39Speaker 4: Sophie Monk is actually younger than Ali Langdon by one year.
- 55:43Speaker 4: Father's Day is this Sunday, or you could have said
- 55:45Speaker 4: the 6th of September. Songs by Kate Miller-Heidke. The biggest two,
- 55:49Speaker 4: I'd say, is The Last Day on Earth and Caught
- 55:50Speaker 4: in the Crowd. DOAC stands for Diary of a CEO,
- 55:54Speaker 4: and Adrian Portelli's reward program is called LMCT +.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Okay, not too bad.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Good on you. You are going to see Bruno Mars, though.
- 56:03Speaker 8: That's what I came here for, so that's all good.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Who cares about the cash?
- 56:06Speaker 4: Now, we are going to speak to Kate Miller-Heidke up next.
- 56:09Speaker 4: She's got a brand new album on the way. Plus,
- 56:11Speaker 4: of course, she is one of the coaches on The
- 56:13Speaker 4: Voice Australia.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Yep, and our You Get A Day continues. Every caller
- 56:17Speaker 3: on air is going to see Bruno Mars. So keep
- 56:20Speaker 3: it right here on KISS. More opportunities before nine, okay?
- 56:24Speaker 6: Heaps.
- 56:25Speaker 3: All you've got to do is call in 131065, get
- 56:28Speaker 3: on air, and you will be going to see Bruno
- 56:31Speaker 3: Mars live. You get a day. Keeps going. Only on KISS.
- 56:37Speaker 3: All righty. Kate Miller-Heike is joining us live on air
- 56:40Speaker 3: right now. Of course, you can check out The Voice,
- 56:42Speaker 3: 7.30 p.m. on 7 and 7 Plus. Back again tonight. Hello, Kate.
- 56:48Speaker 10: Hi, Mikey.
- 56:48Speaker 3: How are you?
- 56:49Speaker 5: Hello.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Really good. Hey, the voice is going off at the moment. And, Nat,
- 56:54Speaker 3: you've got a question about the voice.
- 56:55Speaker 4: Yes, last night on The Voice, Kate, the judges learned
- 56:58Speaker 4: that Tones and I had been secretly watching.
- 57:00Speaker 1: So did you guys have no idea that she was
- 57:02Speaker 1: there the whole time?
- 57:04Speaker 8: No idea whatsoever. Like, we were completely blindsided and kind of.
- 57:11Speaker 14: In shock for a while, actually. How did they do it?
- 57:13Speaker 3: Like, how did they hide it?
- 57:15Speaker 8: They told us that she was hiding in a cupboard
- 57:18Speaker 8: for the whole time.
- 57:20Speaker 4: We spoke to Sonia Kruger, actually, who said they even
- 57:22Speaker 4: went as far as having code names for her, but
- 57:24Speaker 4: then Sonia said she forgot the code name.
- 57:26Speaker 3: Yeah, because Sonia knew.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Sonia knew.
- 57:29Speaker 8: Sonia knew.
- 57:30Speaker 11: Right, she's so duplicitous.
- 57:32Speaker 8: She's, yeah, clearly a good liar.
- 57:34Speaker 3: But did you have, like, an inkling of who it
- 57:36Speaker 3: would be? Like, was there guesses?
- 57:38Speaker 1: No, we didn't know.
- 57:40Speaker 8: We didn't know there was a secret coach full stop.
- 57:42Speaker 8: We just thought it was a regular season of The Voice,
- 57:45Speaker 8: you know, just like we've always done.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Do you feel betrayed?
- 57:50Speaker 8: No, look, I mean, at first we were shocked. But,
- 57:54Speaker 8: I mean, the thing is the blind auditions are so
- 57:57Speaker 8: much fun. And so I was kind of happy that
- 58:00Speaker 8: that part of the show was getting extended. And, you know,
- 58:04Speaker 8: we had the opportunity to have a bigger team.
- 58:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that was great.
- 58:08Speaker 4: Hey, I want to know when your chairs are facing
- 58:10Speaker 4: the other way and someone's singing, do you picture what
- 58:13Speaker 4: this person will look like in your head? Or do
- 58:15Speaker 4: you try and keep them as like a faceless person
- 58:18Speaker 4: and just focus on their talent only?
- 58:19Speaker 1: Because it'd be so hard to not think, oh, young
- 58:22Speaker 1: guy sounds attractive, blonde hair. You know what I mean?
- 58:26Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
- 58:27Speaker 8: No, I can't help it. I totally picture what I
- 58:30Speaker 8: think they look like. And then when the chair spins around,
- 58:33Speaker 8: sometimes it's completely different.
- 58:35Speaker 4: Oh, some people's voices sound so different to what they
- 58:39Speaker 4: actually look like.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Do you ever turn it around and you go, oh,
- 58:42Speaker 3: I mean, they've got a good voice, but I don't
- 58:44Speaker 3: like the look of them?
- 58:45Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 58:46Speaker 8: Oh, that's a shame. No, I mean, yeah, you sort
- 58:51Speaker 8: of expect someone's voice to match their body.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:54Speaker 8: But sometimes when it's a surprise, it's kind of extra cool.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I get you. I mean, it's funny, isn't it?
- 59:01Speaker 3: Like back before like social media and the internet, you'd
- 59:04Speaker 3: listen to people on the radio, for example. I have
- 59:06Speaker 3: no idea. You don't know what they look like. And
- 59:08Speaker 3: I've disappointed so many people. people yeah when they've met
- 59:11Speaker 3: me in real life or seen me online yeah and
- 59:13Speaker 3: that big red button i just want to check here
- 59:16Speaker 3: does it actually do something or do you hit it
- 59:19Speaker 3: and someone in a control room i actually want to
- 59:20Speaker 3: know that yeah like does the button could you just
- 59:22Speaker 3: sit in there just hitting that button and turn around
- 59:25Speaker 3: all the time Or is the button a fake?
- 59:26Speaker 7: No, it's real.
- 59:28Speaker 8: It's real. Like robotics and electronics. Um, it, it breaks
- 59:33Speaker 8: quite often. It's a real button. Yeah, no, it's all real.
- 59:37Speaker 13: It's all real.
- 59:38Speaker 3: Now tell us, you've got a new album coming out
- 59:40Speaker 3: and it's been five years between albums. How come so long?
- 59:45Speaker 8: Oh, well, you know, COVID happened and I was busy
- 59:48Speaker 8: doing a bunch of other stuff, some music theater stuff and,
- 59:51Speaker 8: and some other projects. But, um, Yeah, this record, it
- 59:55Speaker 8: just came out. It's called The Kiss in the Abyss
- 59:58Speaker 8: and I just love it. We're on tour at the
- 1:00:00Speaker 8: moment and playing these new songs for people is so
- 1:00:03Speaker 8: much fun.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: There is a track called A Certain Panic and that
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: was inspired by an encounter with an influencer at the Logies.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Can you explain that?
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: Yeah, I met her in the queue for the toilets
- 1:00:15Speaker 8: at the Logies. That's the opening line of the song.
- 1:00:18Speaker 8: And she was, Um, you know, I actually can't remember
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: who she was now, but it was someone from The
- 1:00:24Speaker 8: Bachelor or Love Island or one of those shows. And
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: she just sort of, I think the Logies is a
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: time for, you know, a lot of DNM happen.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: And, um.
- 1:00:36Speaker 8: She just confessed to me that, you know, she felt
- 1:00:39Speaker 8: so lonely and she hated being an influencer and she
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: hated the fact that her whole life was, you know,
- 1:00:45Speaker 8: she was being judged on how she looked and she
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: just had become like a content machine, you know, instead
- 1:00:51Speaker 8: of living her real life. And it was such a,
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: like I found it to be a really fascinating experience.
- 1:00:57Speaker 8: conversation and and I get it you know I think
- 1:01:00Speaker 8: I would I would really struggle with that if that
- 1:01:02Speaker 8: were me so yeah it just inspired me to write
- 1:01:04Speaker 8: a song about.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: It when someone has a conversation with you like that
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: or inspires you to write a song do you immediately
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: kind of go back to your table at the Logies
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: and write in your notes like remember this you.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Do yeah Yep, yep, yep.
- 1:01:15Speaker 8: I've got a little notebook and I've tried to put
- 1:01:17Speaker 8: all the juicy stuff in there. Because, you know, my
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: own life is not interesting enough.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you find inspiration through other people.
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: And I also want to chat to you about the
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: fact that in 2010, you performed at Coachella.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: What was that like?
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: Because that would be an experience that so many musicians
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: would die for.
- 1:01:34Speaker 8: Yeah, look, it was amazing. It was so cool. I
- 1:01:38Speaker 8: actually opened the whole festival, so... We were the first
- 1:01:43Speaker 8: act on and the audience was just so incredible. And
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: the atmosphere is amazing. And it was, you know, we
- 1:01:50Speaker 8: just had a great time at that festival.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: How does that compare to Eurovision?
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: Because you also have performed at Eurovision where we watched
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: this year and Delta obviously performed, did really well. You
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: came ninth back in 2019, if I'm not wrong. What
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: was the crowd like at Eurovision?
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Because I feel as if the Europeans sometimes don't accept
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: that we're even in it.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: Well, I still don't understand why we are, Kate. We're
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: nowhere near Europe. I'm very confused by it.
- 1:02:13Speaker 8: Look, we're in Eurovision because we love Eurovision.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:02:17Speaker 13: Honestly, just the vibe in that crowd.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: I want to be in the Olympics because I love
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: the Olympics. Yeah.
- 1:02:23Speaker 8: Look, don't ask questions, okay?
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Just accept it.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:27Speaker 8: But, yeah, that was electric and, you know, I had
- 1:02:29Speaker 8: to perform on top of a seven-metre-high bendy pole and
- 1:02:32Speaker 8: I was wheeled on stage on that pole and just
- 1:02:35Speaker 8: the rush of, like, electricity from the crowd. I know
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: what you mean. Like, some of the other countries, I think,
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: kind of resent us being in and they will never
- 1:02:44Speaker 8: vote for us ever but the actual audience there um
- 1:02:49Speaker 8: love it i mean they love it yeah that's awesome
- 1:02:51Speaker 8: it was an incredible experience who.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Would you want to see at eurovision in 2027 we've
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: obviously just have delta you've done it guys sebastian's done
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: it dami im's done it uh who do you think
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: should be oh my.
- 1:03:03Speaker 8: God next year Well, look, I like the weird, wacky,
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: like bonkers side of Eurovision.
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:03:10Speaker 8: So I'd love to see someone really, you know, theatrical
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: and strange.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: Rhonda Birchmore.
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: Rhonda could be amazing. I mean, a lot of people
- 1:03:22Speaker 8: say TISM should end.
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: TISM?
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: Oh, that 90s band? Oh, God, you know them, Sean.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: I do.
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: They're back.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: I've never heard of TISM.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Are they back?
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: Yeah, they are.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Oh, we're going to play you some TISM.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: What's TISM mean?
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Can we get some TISM up, please?
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Yeah, when we work out what that is, we'll get
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: it up for you.
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: Oh, there's one song.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:03:44Speaker 12: One song.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: It's there for you to play. Oh, it's here now. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, this, yes.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: I'm on the drug. I'm on the drug. I'm on
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: the drug. The Killed River Phoenix. I'm on the drug.
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: They're just a wacky Aussie band.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: The Killed River Phoenix.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: I want to know what tism means. I don't know.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Is anyone else not picking it? Look that up. So
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: you reckon Tisum, Kate?
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: That's my call right now.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: How do you think that would go down? Singing I'm
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: on the drug that killed River Phoenix.
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: Yeah, I reckon Eurovision would love them. Yeah, they're wacky.
- 1:04:18Speaker 8: and they're totally, you know, theatrical. Great entertainers.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Didn't they used to wear balaclavas? Is that their thing?
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: Still no one knows sort of who they are.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: So they were like the OG seer where they were
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: blocking their faces so they could live.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: A normal life.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: Made for Eurovision.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Oh, love it.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Well, thank you so much for chatting to us, Kate.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: Of course, The Voice continues tonight at 7.30. You can
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: check Kate out on there and her brand new album.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: The Kiss in the Abyss is out now. Good on you, Kate.
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: I'm touring as well, playing Sydney and Melbourne in September
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: to celebrate the release of the record.
- 1:04:50Speaker 14: Go and watch it.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: She might do a TISM cover for you.
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: You never know your luck.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Thank you, Kate.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Kate Milahaki there.
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: Dua Lipa married Callum Turner back in June. They got
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: married in, well, first London and then Sicily. And she
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: was chatting to Vogue in this new interview and she
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: said that she got so much advice in the lead
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: up to her wedding, but there were actually two suggestions
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: that helped make their day magical. Those two were to
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: show up at their wedding like they were the guests
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: as opposed to the couple getting married because that way
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: they had fun and weren't stressed about the day going perfectly.
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: So they treated their own wedding like they were just
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: rocking up to it.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: Shouldn't you just have someone else in charge the whole day?
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: Well, when you're that rich, yeah, marriage planner, wedding planner, yeah,
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: like you have so many assistants and stuff, but most
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: people are pulling all the details together together. And on
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: the day you can hand it to someone or let
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: them know, like, can you take this job and this job?
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: But effectively you're still your own wedding planner and you're
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: the one that knows everything. who's supposed to be here
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: at what time and.
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: Things like that.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: And you can't just relax and enjoy it.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Yes, it's one of the many things that turn me.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: Off at the big wedding. Even at a party, like
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: when you host a party.
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: Oh, I can't stand, even like birthdays, I feel like
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: I have a better time when I don't have an
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: event because then you're not worried if everyone's having.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: A good time.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: Getting around to everyone.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I hate that element.
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: The second piece of advice was for her and Callum
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: to continuously check in with each other so they didn't
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: lose each other forever.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: In the crowd throughout the night.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: So obviously, you know, at your wedding, you have to
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: speak to everyone and you're making your way around. They
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: might be dealing with one half of the room. You
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: might be doing this half. And by the time you
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: know it, like you've missed half the night together and
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: you're only coming together for the cake and then you're
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: splitting up again, then you're coming together for the speeches.
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: So you're not actually spending the biggest night of your
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: life together.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: No, I never thought of it that way. I mean, Sean,
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: when you got married, were you hanging around very much
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: or divided?
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: No, no, we were together, yeah.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Did you have a big wedding?
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: Yeah, it was 120 maybe.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: Oh, 120 people.
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: You seem like a guy who'd have a chill wedding, though,
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: and you wouldn't have extravagant detail and things like that.
- 1:06:49Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, it was a nice place, but it
- 1:06:51Speaker 9: was pretty chill still, even though there was 100 people
- 1:06:54Speaker 9: there or whatever.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: You didn't get dragged in different directions.
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, no, that does happen, but we were together
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: when that was happening.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Do you get mad ever?
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: No.
- 1:07:02Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: We're just so chill. Surely we could piss him off.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: He's just so chill.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Even when he talks.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: Wedding.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: 120 people didn't give a shit.
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: I really didn't phase me.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: You don't even care.
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: I loved it. It was a great time.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: But didn't phase me. He's so chill, isn't he?
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: His wedding didn't phase me. The birth of my child.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: It didn't phase me.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: House being a parent. That's all right.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: What a dream. You're not worried. He would piss me off.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: I couldn't be with someone like him. I'd be like, care.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: He cares.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I do care.
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: Do you? People worry about all the stupid shit.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Maybe he's got the secret ingredient to a happy life.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Would you say you're happy?
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Deeply happy? 100%.
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: When was the last time you were happy, Mikey?
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: Oh, when I was with my girlfriend on the weekend.
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: There you go.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: Nice. Nice.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: Well done.
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: Let's move on.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: Hey, Kim Kardashian, now she kind of got her start
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: in Hollywood because she was Paris Hilton's wardrobe organiser, not stylist.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: She just organised her wardrobe for us. What a wank.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: Hang on, you'd go in there, what, once a month
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: and move some coats around? How is that a job?
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I guess she'd cycle her clothing out
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: as well.
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: Celebrities wear things once, so once she wore it, probably
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: got rid of it, colour coordinate it, make sure it's
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: all in its correct order.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: Very important, yeah.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: She'd get new clothes all the time. Yeah, a total
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: celebrity role. Yeah.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: It is how she got her start in the industry
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: because then she got in with that crew and the
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: famous circles and everything went from there. But before she
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: had that job, not many people realized that when she
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: was eight years old, she actually had a job for
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: another celebrity and a celebrity bigger than Paris Hilton. She
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: was a dog walker and she walked her next door
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: neighbor's dog and her next door neighbor happened to be Madonna.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Let's have a listen.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: But when I was eight years old, I would walk
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: her dog and she paid me in, remember those like
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: jelly rubber neon bracelets?
- 1:08:55Speaker 10: She paid me in those.
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: I remember going to school wearing them and all my
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: friends were like, oh my God, that so cool where
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: did you get that and i was like madonna gave
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: it to.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: Me i mean it's a cool story but another wanky
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: job because there are a lot of dog walkers.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Also madonna could have afforded chucker 50 i.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Know right yeah just paying her in their bracelets but
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: yeah like well i mean i've told you before i've
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: got a cat sitter Yeah, that comes when you're away. No,
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: she comes on days when I'm, like, out all day.
- 1:09:21Speaker 13: What?
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Yeah, so, like, certain days I'll leave at 5 and
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: I don't get home till 5. 12 hours. Yeah, 12-hour day,
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: and I feel bad for the cat, so she comes in.
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: I thought cats were self-sufficient.
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: Like, they didn't really need that much attention.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: A lot of people listening will think it's a little indulgent.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: How much does this woman charge?
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: I'm assuming it's a woman. $ 80 a visit, yeah.
- 1:09:42Speaker 11: $ 80?
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: And how long is she there?
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: About an hour, I think. She plays with her, puts
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: her outside.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Do you have a pet cam?
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I've got one. Yeah, we could see her right now.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Is the nanny there? The cat nanny?
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Oh, I don't care to just see your cat.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: Oh, you want to know if the nanny's there now?
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: Well, what I'm saying is when the cat nanny is over,
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: have you actually seen that she's doing anything?
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Yeah, see? There.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Oh, it's on her food thing.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: Well, the funny thing is I don't even need this
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: woman because look at this. I can just go feed
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: and then the cat is about to receive.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Does the cat come?
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: Speak to the cat.
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: Oh, that was dropping the food. That was dropping the food.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Can you intercom to the cat through it?
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I can actually. Microphone, that's what I hear. Jasper!
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: No, do it in the voice you normally do.
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I thought you had some sort of voice you'd
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: talk your cat in.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Do it in the normal voice so your cat actually comes.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: You look like such a boomer.
- 1:10:37Speaker 11: End it.
- 1:10:38Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: Jasper, come here. Jasper, come on. Jasper. Yeah, she didn't
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: come like a typical cat. That's why I need to
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: pay a woman $ 80 a day to go and visit her.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Wow, okay. That's very high maintenance, little Jasper.
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: Well, she'd probably be fine, to be honest, 12 hours
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: a day without me.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: At least while she's there, can this woman not cook
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: you dinner?
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: Yeah, no, do something else.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, just playing with the cat for an hour. What
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: a waste of money.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: All she does is put her outside. She does her
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: own thing in the yard and then brings her back in.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: I really should do more with my life.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Reflect your life choices, I reckon.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: And our You Get A Day, every caller on air
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: is going to see Bruno Mars live. Let's do our
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: last bunch of callers right now, Nat.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Yeah, let's speak to Chelsea in Melbourne. You're going to
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Bruno Mars.
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: Oh, my God, thank you.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: You're welcome. What did you want to say?
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: I just wanted to talk about the cats. I'm the
- 1:11:32Speaker 7: exact same way with my cats. I've got an automated
- 1:11:34Speaker 7: feeder and I just, When I'm at work, I like
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: to feed them and they just run up. And I've
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: never had someone come and cat sit like that.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a bit much.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: But I think I might.
- 1:11:45Speaker 10: No, I think I like it.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: I understand the cat sitting when you're going away.
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: But just for day to day, it seems a little
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: excessive and that you're making your cat reliant on that.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: The thing is, I had her as a kitten when
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: she was tiny, and I was working long days, and
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: I was like, you can't really leave her alone. A kitten, no.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: So have you just kept it since?
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: It just remains, but it's a bit much. Do you
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: look at your– because my girlfriend got me this cat
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: feeder I'd never had before.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: I think that's a really good idea.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: I do think pet cams and things like that are
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: a good idea, but yeah, Mikey just fed his before.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: Yeah, she still hasn't... Oh, checking again. No, still hasn't eaten,
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: still hasn't moved. Do you.
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: Oh, mine eat straight away.
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: Oh, right, they run to it.
- 1:12:25Speaker 7: Their exercise for the day is running to that feed arch.
- 1:12:28Speaker 12: Cute.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Do you look at it a bit too much? Bart,
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: this is my problem with this stuff. I know me,
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: I could become obsessed with it and be like, why
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: isn't she eating a biscuit?
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: Yeah, you can get actual kitty litters that also have
- 1:12:40Speaker 7: cameras in there so that you can watch them.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: She can watch them take a dump.
- 1:12:44Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: I don't think I need that.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: That one I think we can leave.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: Courtney. Hello, Courtney. Good morning.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: You are going to Bono Mars, Courtney. Congratulations.
- 1:12:56Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: What did you want to say for last calls?
- 1:12:59Speaker 11: Well, I went to his last concert and some of
- 1:13:01Speaker 11: his like stage lights started to like start a fire.
- 1:13:06Speaker 11: And yeah, it was really interesting. And he managed to
- 1:13:08Speaker 11: like dance over to the other side of the stage
- 1:13:10Speaker 11: and it kind of made a big impact. But I
- 1:13:12Speaker 11: don't think it was meant to be on purpose.
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: No.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: So this was his last time he was in Australia
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: at one of his Melbourne shows. You're saying the stage
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: caught on fire.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:13:20Speaker 11: Yeah, some of these like big lights caught on fire
- 1:13:23Speaker 11: that had these massive like fireworks and stuff and then
- 1:13:25Speaker 11: there was a bit of smoke and stuff. It didn't get.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: Worse and they would have evacuated the whole place.
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: Well, that could happen, yeah. But it won't happen this time, surely.
- 1:13:33Speaker 11: Hopefully, fingers crossed.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: All right, enjoy the concert, Courtney. All right, our last
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: double pass of the day for our You Getter is
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: going to you, Paul.
- 1:13:43Speaker 10: Morning, guys.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: How are you?
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: You got it.
- 1:13:46Speaker 10: Yeah, beautiful.
- 1:13:47Speaker 16: Thanks, guys.
- 1:13:47Speaker 14: Appreciate it.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: All good, mate. Enjoy. What did you want to talk
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: about today?
- 1:13:51Speaker 14: Yeah, just want a special shout out to my wife.
- 1:13:53Speaker 14: It's our ninth anniversary this weekend. She'll probably be listening
- 1:13:56Speaker 14: on the way to work. We're staying at the Crown.
- 1:13:58Speaker 14: A bit of a special night. Kid free. So I
- 1:14:00Speaker 14: just wanted to shout out to her. Say I love
- 1:14:01Speaker 14: you and enjoy your day at work.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: And you can now take her to Bruno Mars. Now,
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: you've got to do what a real man would do. What? Well,
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: hopefully she's not listening and you can pretend you bought
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: the tickets as part of the anniversary present.
- 1:14:12Speaker 14: That's That's my backup, 100%. But she loves this show,
- 1:14:15Speaker 14: so she'll know my voice. She'll be hearing me for sure.
- 1:14:17Speaker 14: So I'll get a phone call in the next two minutes.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: If you don't, though, if you don't, it means she
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: wasn't listening.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: How about we just don't lie to our partners? That's
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: also an option. It's just not a good thing to do.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: So you're going to go stay at the Crown. I
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: hear there's a really nice spa there.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: You can get massages that are really good.
- 1:14:33Speaker 14: Yeah, we're going to go there. We've got a reservation
- 1:14:36Speaker 14: in Woolloomooloo. I think it's called Acti, A-K-T-I. We've got
- 1:14:39Speaker 14: a reservation there, so we're going there for dinner. So, yeah,
- 1:14:41Speaker 14: a bit of a kid-free night. Can't wait.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: Oh, beautiful. And Bruno Mars. And, like, can you tell
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: us tomorrow, can you call in and let us know
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: if the first call's whether she heard or not, or
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: if you're going.
- 1:14:50Speaker 14: To pull off the lie? I'll get a phone call
- 1:14:54Speaker 14: in about three seconds.
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: What's her name?
- 1:14:56Speaker 14: She'll be going, Greed, G-R-E-E-D, Greed.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Greer, he didn't buy the tickets.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: Oh, sorry. What does she do right now? It's two
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: to nine. What would she be doing?
- 1:15:07Speaker 14: She'd be driving into work.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: She'd be listening.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Hi, Greer.
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Your husband didn't buy the tickets, but he's taking you
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: on a lovely anniversary weekend, and I think that's nice.
- 1:15:17Speaker 14: Yeah, can't wait.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: And also naughty hotel stuff.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: Yeah, how good's hotel stuff? Yeah, we all know. You
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: do stuff you never usually do, eh? Yeah.
- 1:15:27Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Is that how you got pregnant?
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: Yeah, Paul.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: Oh, me? No, that was at home.
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: Oh, really?
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: You don't get pregnant off hotel stuff.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, no. Physically can't. Because of the... Yeah. All right, well...
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: What's happening tomorrow?
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: Oh, Home and Away's Aidan Nicodemu and James Stewart will
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: be joining us live in Studio Plus. Celebrity psychic Georgina
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: Walker is going to be doing free snap predictions. You
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: can also win thousands with the pop quiz. And don't forget,
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: every morning, your chance to drive away in a brand
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: new car. Yeah.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: Gordie's coming in. Keep it on here with Gordie. You
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: can go to our iHeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas, checking
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: out BTS, Zara Larsson, Benson Boone, Snoop Dogg, and more.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Have a good day.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: We'll see you bright and early tomorrow.
