- 0:00Speaker 1: It's very rare these days that we can all agree
- 0:02Speaker 1: that today was a great day for the Israelis, for
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Palestidians who are no longer getting bombed every day,
- 0:07Speaker 1: for the president who achieved this victory, and that's good.
- 0:11Speaker 1: We don't have to could condition that we don't have
- 0:14Speaker 1: to qualify that we can just celebrate that these families
- 0:17Speaker 1: got their hostages, their family members back as hostages, and
- 0:20Speaker 1: that the Palestindians can live without fear of getting bombed
- 0:23Speaker 1: every day. Tomorrow, we're gonna have to look at what
- 0:26Speaker 1: happens next. And I don't think anyone knows. I don't
- 0:30Speaker 1: think the Trump twenty point plan is liable to go
- 0:33Speaker 1: off as it's written. I don't think the people in
- 0:36Speaker 1: the region know. I don't think the Palestindians have a
- 0:38Speaker 1: surety that they'll be able to live in peace of security.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I don't think the Israelis have a surety that they'll
- 0:42Speaker 1: be able to live without the threat of from US
- 0:44Speaker 1: threatening them. Today we can just celebrate, but tomorrow there's
- 0:48Speaker 1: a lot of hard work to be done. And I
- 0:50Speaker 1: don't think that we can say that this is a
- 0:53Speaker 1: pivotal point in Middle East history. What we can say
- 0:55Speaker 1: it was a good day because today the guns went silent,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and that's a very good day, especially the day and age.
- 1:03Speaker 2: So, doctor West, I mean, do you think that you know,
- 1:06Speaker 2: there's been some back and forth about credit, and look,
- 1:09Speaker 2: everybody knows Trump likes credit. But is it fair in
- 1:12Speaker 2: your mind for more people on the left to actually
- 1:17Speaker 2: give him credit for this, to acknowledge that perhaps he
- 1:21Speaker 2: was the difference maker in this particular deal.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Well, I look at it from the vantage point of
- 1:26Speaker 3: any time there's tears of joy of people having their
- 1:30Speaker 3: loved ones return, it could be the Palestinians themselves with
- 1:34Speaker 3: two thousand incarcerated ones returning. It could be the twenty
- 1:37Speaker 3: of is Raetio. Each one of those tiers Israeli a
- 1:40Speaker 3: Palestinian are precious. That's very important. I give Trump credit
- 1:45Speaker 3: for stopping the war and stopping the genocide. But the
- 1:49Speaker 3: problem is, you see, is that Matthew five nine s
- 1:52Speaker 3: has blessed all the peacemakers. Peacemakers are justice seekers. I'm
- 1:57Speaker 3: not convinced that Trump is a justice seeker. He has
- 2:00Speaker 3: stopped the war, he stopped the genocide. That's a positive thing.
- 2:04Speaker 3: But you can't seek justice unless you look at the
- 2:07Speaker 3: world from the advantage point of those who themselves are
- 2:10Speaker 3: under occupation, and as long as there's occupation, there's gonna
- 2:15Speaker 3: be her moss or her mass like resistance. Because every
- 2:18Speaker 3: history that we know of people who are under occupation,
- 2:21Speaker 3: be there Jews in Poland, or be their Palestinians and Gods,
- 2:25Speaker 3: or be the indigenous peoples in this country, or black
- 2:28Speaker 3: people's under slavery, there's going to be resistance. And so
- 2:31Speaker 3: the question is can brother Trump follow through and be
- 2:35Speaker 3: a justice secret But you know.
- 2:38Speaker 2: We'll see. I mean, I think that's that's pro cliberties.
- 2:42Speaker 3: He's gonna be much more tied to Nathan Yahoo, who
- 2:46Speaker 3: himself has to be accountable for war crimes himself.
- 2:49Speaker 2: You see, you think that that he's inclined to not.
- 2:51Speaker 3: That's we shall see. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna
- 2:55Speaker 3: Trump Trump. I'm not gonna just foreclose his possibilities. But
- 2:59Speaker 3: I'm not holding my breath.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I think Josh is right. We don't know what's
- 3:03Speaker 4: going to happen next. I mean, you said the guns
- 3:04Speaker 4: were silent. I wish that were totally true. Hamas is
- 3:07Speaker 4: going around and executing some Palestinians, right, now torturing them
- 3:10Speaker 4: in the streets, and apparently they plan to execute more tomorrow.
- 3:12Speaker 4: I mean, these are bad people. The idea that they're
- 3:16Speaker 4: going to be radicalize or willingly give up their arms,
- 3:20Speaker 4: I'm skeptical of. So I worry for the Palestinians actually,
- 3:24Speaker 4: because of what Hamas is now doing to them inside
- 3:28Speaker 4: of Gaza. But you know, I've been wearing this pin
- 3:32Speaker 4: for two straight years, waiting for these hostages to come home,
- 3:35Speaker 4: and I've been waiting to take it off, and I'm
- 3:37Speaker 4: going to take it off tonight because the twenty people
- 3:42Speaker 4: came out, and I met some of the families earlier
- 3:46Speaker 4: this year, and I've been following their stories quite closely,
- 3:50Speaker 4: and I'm going to replace it with an American pin,
- 3:54Speaker 4: American flag pin, because in my opinion, this was a
- 3:58Speaker 4: huge victory for the American people, led by our president.
- 4:02Speaker 4: But it was only through the power and the force
- 4:04Speaker 4: of will of the President of the United States that
- 4:06Speaker 4: twenty people return to their families, that we have the
- 4:09Speaker 4: beginnings of the possibility of a peaceful era in the
- 4:12Speaker 4: Middle East, and that maybe a future can be had
- 4:17Speaker 4: by millions upon millions of people in a place where
- 4:20Speaker 4: it's sometimes hard to visualize the future. And so I
- 4:23Speaker 4: couldn't get prouder to be an American tonight because without
- 4:27Speaker 4: the United States and without our president, this doesn't happen.
- 4:29Speaker 3: But brother Scott, the are you concerned about the Palestinians?
- 4:33Speaker 3: Can you take that off of the Palestinians and all
- 4:36Speaker 3: of this suffer.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Well, I'm concerned about what's happening to them right now.
- 4:39Speaker 4: They're being shot in the street by hamas well.
- 4:40Speaker 3: They're under occupation. It just had twenty thousand babies killed
- 4:44Speaker 3: in twenty three months. I mean, do you believe that
- 4:47Speaker 3: the hostage on the by Palestinians has the same value
- 4:52Speaker 3: as a Palestinian incarcerator. I just asked that question.
- 4:55Speaker 4: I don't regard some of the people that were in
- 4:57Speaker 4: prison President Israel to be hostages. These were terror that
- 5:00Speaker 4: we had to let go in order to get these
- 5:01Speaker 4: twenty people back. The twenty living hostages did nothing wrong. Many,
- 5:05Speaker 4: as Abby pointed out in her monologue, of the people
- 5:08Speaker 4: the Palestinians wanted released are absolute terrorists whom.
- 5:13Speaker 3: They have no trial and have had no du because.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Twenty people did nothing. The people taken on October the
- 5:19Speaker 4: seventh were purely innocent.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Ninety nine percent of the palace two million Palestinians in
- 5:25Speaker 1: Gaza are totally innocent. And they've been suffering for two
- 5:29Speaker 1: years too, and they need humanitarian aid, they need medical aid.
- 5:33Speaker 4: I think they've been suffering for longer than that.
