- 0:01[SPEAKER_03]: Rain a short hot line.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_03]: At least you know Michael what's going on.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_02]: We know you have takes, we have takes.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm back to surprise that you're a rant line, rape line, whatever, is this completely full.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_03]: What can't we just win a game?
- 0:14[SPEAKER_03]: Can I blame Michael Caspio for this?
- 0:16[SPEAKER_06]: Can I blame Bob Connelly for this?
- 0:17[SPEAKER_06]: Can I put on a zebra shirt and just go out there?
- 0:20[SPEAKER_06]: Scratch, claw, up against the wall.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Can I explain that one feeling right now, guys?
- 0:24[SPEAKER_04]: I can't believe it.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_01]: Let's open up that raised ball.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: or can't believe USC is undefeated in the SEC.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, we're in the big tent.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: What's the record?
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Oh no!
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: Oh everybody, welcome back to rate of troll radio episode 653 coming to you on Monday, September 7th.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to look back at SC's 39 nothing went over Fresno states open up the mail bag, talk about how potentially good this USC football team is and so much more as always.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_02]: You can follow social media.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm your host, Michael Castillo, General of my co-host.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: Here on the way to our studio, in Los Angeles, let's see their tool.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, everybody.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, we're back on Labor Day.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: Um, which is always a little weird.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: I, I, I love that College Ripple starts with a five day weekend.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm, I'm, I'm a fan of it.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: At the same time, makes everything a little weird for us.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: not only like as podcasters, but I think it's just fans in general, right?
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like the polls are not out.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: So on this episode, we at vendors literally eating my microphone cable right now.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, the polls are not out.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: So we can't talk about that.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: There's still a game going on right now, literally as we record this, which is SMU Florida State.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: And now it's sort of like a short podcast week, which is kind of fun.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: Now that's only a five day, four day work week going into Saturday.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: And last week was a short week, literally for the Georgians.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: So it's everything's a little cocky wobble.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: You don't get to the one or week thing or a couple weeks in the season.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, as far as I'm concerned, the more days with college football, the better.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, the fewer days between college football, the better.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_06]: So, yes, I signed me up for this nice five-day slate of college football.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_06]: And then, because I'm going to assume there are Thursday games coming up.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_06]: That we're going to be without college football for very short amount of time this week.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's just get into it.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: Talk about SEC's win over for us, and I'll say it's 39, nothing.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_02]: Not the game that you and I sort of thought was going to happen.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think that, you know, we're all talking about this more.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about the over-underers.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: We can talk about what are what the scores were that we predicted.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: But at least you want to take it away with the simple answer to a very simple question.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: How just how good is USC right now?
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: And what did the Fresno game show you to sort of influence whatever your answer is?
- 3:32[SPEAKER_06]: That is the question.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_06]: How good is USC right now?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_06]: Um, you can only play the teams that are in front of you and thus far USC has not played the teams that I'm worried about yet.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_06]: I will admit I was just slightly worried about Fresno State because it was so different and because the size was going to be different against USC's front seven.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_06]: And so in that sense, like,
- 3:55[SPEAKER_06]: they passed a major, major test for me, just in terms of like minimum, I mean beyond minimum of what we can see as far as the the front seven and all and all the like.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_06]: Um, but in terms of what USC has done against the opponents that they have played so far, have they raised my level of optimism about whether or not USC can keep doing this, or whether or not USC can compete against a team like Oregon or Ohio City or Indiana.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_06]: And I've got to say like, I don't know how you can watch these games and not come away thinking
- 4:39[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_06]: We've seen USC's defense look better in early games, and it hasn't always meant a lot for the end of the season, but it's usually sort of given us a little bit of a clue about what level of physicality we can expect to see from USC's defense or what level of communication or level of players who know where they're supposed to be and what they're supposed to do.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_06]: And
- 5:08[SPEAKER_06]: I, my memory is that we have always, even if we have seen improvement from the defense, we have still always seen from starters or sort of high-level contributors cracks, you know, like things they got to clean up.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_06]: And of course there are things they got to clean up from these these front, these first two weeks.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_06]: But I feel like the product, the eye test on this defense, feels considerably different.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_06]: Somebody in the chat said, a William in the chat said, I counted five times that Fresno was able to get more than two yards after contact.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_06]: And for those came on the last drive, tackling has been the biggest difference so far, compared that to any game last season.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_06]: And I wanted to highlight that comment, because that was also my,
- 5:58[SPEAKER_06]: observation was that it looks different because there have not been tackling problems at all.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_06]: The only time we've seen the bad tackling that we've seen is when the scrubs are on the field and it's all freshman and you know, guys who probably aren't going to see a lot of real playing time this year.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_06]: And that's when you're seeing the miss tackles that the dives at the feet that don't go anywhere or whatever.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_06]: We're not seeing that from the first team offense by
- 6:28[SPEAKER_06]: Um, we're seeing a level of, of sure, sure hand, sure handedness in terms of the tackling the feels different.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_06]: We're seeing a level of, of toughness that feels different.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_06]: Um, and also like I just, I wanted to point out, I know we were all fixated on the fourth quarter of the San Jose State game and the, like, coverage mistakes and coverage errors
- 6:58[SPEAKER_06]: with the starters on the field.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_06]: I haven't really noticed major coverage errors, except for you know, Christian Pierce getting beat deep against San Jose State.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_06]: Like the corners we can all have a conversation about what we would prefer with in terms of how much cushion they're giving receivers or what kind of underneath throws that they're giving up.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_06]: But one could also argue that, you know, that those could be tactical yards to a certain degree that USC is giving a given up that they're fine if you were going to take something underneath, they just don't want to give it to you, you know, further down the field.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_06]: And it's felt like the corners have been even if they're giving up those the short passes and giving too much cushion that we all can agree on.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_06]: They're closing down and then making the tackle, and that alone has made USC's defense that much better.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_06]: We're seeing real pressure applied from the interior of the defensive line.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_06]: We're sitting guy like Luke Wafel pop, Cam Crawford pop,
- 8:03[SPEAKER_06]: I said on Twitter today that Desmond Stevens looks like an entirely different player, not just because he's wearing a new number, but that helps because he looks like a different player, shock him, Sprattling posted a clip on Twitter of him, you know.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_06]: breaking a block by just blasting into an offensive lineman.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_06]: And he, he, he throws the offensive lineman kind of back and stumble.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_06]: And the, the lineman stumbles and I just remember like last year like the big problem with Desmond Stevens.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_06]: is that the moment he got near an opposing blocker, he was just gone from the play and he looked timid and he looked scared to go and get up in somebody's face.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_06]: And now you see him making that kind of, it wasn't even a play where he didn't anything particularly well or got a big stop or something like that in the run game, which he has, he didn't make the tackle here, but just seeing him with that kind of,
- 9:02[SPEAKER_06]: attitude and confidence and strength is such a departure from what we've seen certainly from last year the last two years from him.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_06]: So like just those little differences are convincing me that you know Gary Patterson has something going here.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_06]: We will find out what it looks like when USC plays the true elite playmaking athletes like Oregon has.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_06]: But I'm starting to get a little bit
- 9:31[SPEAKER_06]: Totally drink the cool aid before it's we need to actually be there but it's just nice to see from USC's defense in a way that is very eye-tasty.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_06]: I think I've seen and heard from so many people since the game that like USC just looks tougher and it can be hard to quantify that
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that you look at just how they were dominating the line of Scrimmage, defensively, is not something that we've seen, even against teams that are of similar ilk to the mountain west slash new packed 12 teams that SCS played in Fresno State and San Jose State.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Gina Abbasiri, the way he is blowing guys off the line
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: looks like vintage 2014 Leonard Williams, you know what I mean?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like Luke Wafel has not gotten to the quarterback, but he has made an impact.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: There's just so many things happening on the defensive side of the ball that that you'd like.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, did, did, Jade and Mandel look bad.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: First of
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: that great of a quarterback from from the limited thing that we saw it doesn't help that he went up against an off end or defense that felt really good at going into that game.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: But let's see has played many a shaky quarterback.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: who has put points on the board, who has led drives, you look at Luke Weaver just last week, San Jose State, a guy who had made two career starts, against Sam Houston and an FCS team.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: And the growth from week to week, I think is huge and then you look at the steadiness of the first team defense, I think is huge.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: The only things that I think that you can sort of point at as like this needs to still get better and grow are with the offensive line and especially run blocking and the run blocking has been what this team has excelled at for years now under Lincoln Riley so like.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: that this isn't the, Jade and my avid that is the best we've ever seen of him, the best first we've ever seen.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: He's doing all the little things, right?
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's not just making the,
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: on spiring 40-yard bomb on a corner out, but he's biting his time.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: He's finding guys in the perimeter.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: He's throwing guys open.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's doing what he needs to do to extend drives.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: And that is huge.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: You play within yourself.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: Don't turn the ball over.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: You do all those little things.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_02]: And you're going to make your receivers better.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: And the receivers.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: All look.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: tremendous.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I think when it comes down to like to answer the question, how good is that C as it stands right now?
- 12:44[SPEAKER_02]: I test wise, this is what a playoff team looks like.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: Playoffs, don't talk about playoffs, you kidding me?
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying that they're gonna, you know, go in a national championship, just based off what they did against Fresno State, but like that is what a playoff team would do against a team of Fresno State's caliber.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: Again, Fresno State was the number two deep past defense in the country last year, number two.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: and SC through for four hundred and twelve yards and had two incompletions and defensively just absolutely smoke them with two safety's like that is what a playoff team does to unaponent that you're supposed to be.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and I want to point out that USC was the sixth highest graded team this week by PFF.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_06]: So like our perception of that performance, it's not like a false perception that's just based around, you know, it's just, it's just Fresno State.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_06]: Well, yeah, a lot of other
- 13:59[SPEAKER_06]: They were beating them up badly and USC was up there with them in terms of the degree to which they, you know, beat them up badly.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you want to go more into the PFF stuff.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: I know that you've written that a lot of notes on it.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, so I thought that some of the PFS stuff was very interesting in terms of sort of what it says about the our our perception of the game and so you know like we said like it was an objectively great game the score line tells us that the stats tell us that but I'm also interested sometimes and like what was how good was the actual performance on a player by player basis.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_06]: And it was the 6th performance of the week in terms of PFF ranking, but the I test that we had for the run game.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_06]: is showing up in these numbers where USC's run block grade was 55.9.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_06]: That was down from 81.6 last week.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_06]: So it certainly was a weaker run performance in terms of blocking, in terms of production, there's stuff to to clean up there for sure.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_06]: On the other side, the coverage grade for USC, which last week was 52.7, which was partially because there were like three drives
- 15:22[SPEAKER_06]: But also, you know, USC had some DBs that weren't great at very highly in, again, San Jose State.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_06]: In this game, USC's coverage grade is up to 72.1 and just in general, the basically, I'll get into the defense.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_06]: Actually, let's just jump at straight into the defense.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_06]: USC's top rated players were shocker,
- 15:49[SPEAKER_06]: Johnson's Williams, Prophet Brown, Jason Johnson, are the other three of the top five.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_06]: So that just goes to you.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_06]: Like the guys in the secondary were playing well.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_06]: They were they were doing their job.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_06]: They were playing well.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_06]: They were adding value.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_06]: And even I want to, you know, last week, I was very hard on Isaiah Rubin.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_06]: I think rightfully so, I don't think I was unfair to Isaiah Rubin based on the performance, but I was harsh.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_06]: And I got to give him credit for this week.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_06]: This week, he bounces back and posts a 70.0 and, you know, he didn't play as many snaps as last week, but he still played, you know, 10 or 11 snaps.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_06]: It's just, you know, that's a good sign, especially for a player who, based on last week, could have lost all confidence and just been a wreck for the rest of the season, but, you know, this is a small sample size, but I think that's a really, really good response from him.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_06]: the the other thing just like in terms of general general improvement.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_06]: Again, San Jose State, 16 of U.S. he's 26 players who played on defense scored a great above 60 this week, 24 of 30 players were above 60.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_06]: Like, and 60 is sort of like the point at which you're in, to like, green territory.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_06]: So it just was overall down to the individual a better week in general.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_06]: And then you look at the worst performing players.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_06]: And I think there's only one that stands out is like a real problem.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_06]: Jaden Crowder was the worst one, was the worst graded.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_06]: He's a true freshman.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_06]: Carrington Pierce the transfer in.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_06]: He was in the bottom five.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I don't know that he's going to really factor in this year.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_06]: So not wearing too much, but to me Robinson and Christian Pierce.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_06]: 56.3 and 54.9 respectively, but I think the Christian Pierce is still somebody who needs to show a bit more this season to show that this is not going to be a problem area for USC.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_06]: While profit brown is just, clearly, his quality of showing up immensely.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_06]: And then Tamir Robinson is playing himself out of the rotation in my view.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_06]: Um, so, you know, on defense, do you have anything to say on the defense for I move over the offense?
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: Christian Pier is being one of the lower rated guys.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's disappointing, but also, I go back to, like, you, if you give grace to the idea that it's early in the season and people can rebound, look at, you know, Ruben from last week.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_02]: You talked about, right?
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: Um, if there's anyone I think who can rebound, it's someone with the experience of a Christian Pierce.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_02]: And so in a lot of ways, I would rather have Christian Pierce have the game in which he doesn't grade out beautifully against Fresno State than the other guys because we know that he can be a reliable starter on this team.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: And so, uh,
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: And you look at, you know, the 93s in there from GDA and Kennedy Earlocker completely earned 100% and if you continue to have wrecking balls up front and not only makes stops in the run game but especially get to the quarterback.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: That's how you affect big games.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's how you affect the quarterbacks.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: The SC is going to have to play down the stretch and Dante Moore and Julian Sayon and Josh Hoover, like those are guys where if you are going to beat them, it's going to be because you found a way to battle them.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: Look at all the games, those teams, and those guys have lost, you know, last year.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: because the team that they played in the Anna, I guess, rattled them, right?
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that is the pathway to success.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: So you have to continue to sort of foster that and all of those things are good science.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and in back to Christian Pierce, like I think he is playing one of the more difficult positions for USC in terms of the safety skillsets that they have, I think profit brown has done really well, playing closer to the box.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_06]: Kennedy Orlacker had his big game playing from the nickel.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_06]: And he did go back to safety, the deep safety, again, late for USC, but being closer to the line of scrimmage, these other safety are getting to sort of make plays in those areas.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_06]: And it's, you know, coverage can be harder when you're trying to sort of cover deep.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_06]: So, you know, I'm not hitting the panic button on Christian Pierce yet, but, you know, he doesn't need to step up his game.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_06]: On offense, like I said, you know, this was a game that was very much categorized by a run game that quite wasn't quite at the races, mostly because the blocking was poor.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_06]: and a past game that was at the races and just continues to be absolutely just off the charts.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_06]: Jade Mayabba was USC's highest graded player, 91.1, Jonas Williams, the backup quarterback was 85.1 in his brief time.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_06]: Also, it bounced back from him to go bounce back from that
- 21:50[SPEAKER_06]: I love his PFF grades because he was a third highest rank 79.5, but he was USC's highest rated run blocker in this game.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_06]: which does say something about the general run block raids from the offensive line, but that does put that aside, but a true freshman wide receiver who did get plenty of run blocking snaps was USC's highest graded run blocker.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_06]: The value of having wide receivers, who are not just willing blockers, but quality blockers, is so
- 22:22[SPEAKER_06]: It makes such a difference, you cannot overstate like the extra roof that gives your offense, and Cadendix and Wyatt already jumping straight into that through these first two games.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_06]: Really, really promising.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_06]: Walter Matthews bounced back from from his week one, seventy up five point eight, and then look, look who's here.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_06]: Zacharias Williams, 75.3, and there was an account on Twitter.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_06]: that that was like gathering up pff grades for is a good west coast sports kind of thing I don't remember the exact account, but they had the top graded tight ends out west from week from week one and Zacharias Williams was number one one number two and it was like
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm, that's how they were playing you were you were saying during the game like that he just played He was he was split out wide and then he would motion in type and attach to the to the line.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: That's a tight end.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_06]: I agree.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_06]: I think he was definitely
- 23:27[SPEAKER_06]: doing tight-end things he was he was he was acting like a tight-end will not being a tight-end and he did a good job of it in in that role um obviously you know there's there's
- 23:41[SPEAKER_06]: It's just an interesting use for him, but it's not like they're asking him to go out and be like a Run blocking tight end or something like that like he can just do that job is and and go out and catch the ball wherever he has an opportunity.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_06]: So Could get him from him saw a lot of him more than I expected and I think he's he's rising to the occasion while you know
- 24:03[SPEAKER_06]: guys like Trent Mosley and Katie W will get the headlines trobob in the chat points out Corey Sims can block to.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_06]: I think what we're seeing from USC is a lot of guys who look like they are making the argument to play.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_06]: Like, um,
- 24:20[SPEAKER_06]: Curtsegnetti after Indiana's game there was a receiver who caught his first touchdown pass and he spiked the ball and like Kurtsegnetti is like the boomers boomer coach like he is that he is he is you know USC fans who hate celebrating first downs and hate like the the
- 24:38[SPEAKER_06]: remember how small all of that kind of stuff like he is there like he's the wet dream for for you guys out there who are like that and and I get why you want to be like that and I get why he is this but also like it's just kind of funny to me that he's like he's like made in a lab for that kind of stuff there was a an Indiana guy who was saying like yeah if if if signetti sees you celebrating anything like in a way he doesn't like like you will get a near for your
- 25:05[SPEAKER_06]: So on the post game like Signetti is pointing out like yeah, he shouldn't have spiked that ball like he keeps giving me He's trying to get playing time, but he keeps giving me reasons to not play him and it's like
- 25:20[SPEAKER_06]: Poor guy, but like Zacharias Williams is doing the opposite.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_06]: And a lot of these guys are doing the opposite.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_06]: Tron Baker is giving USC reasons to play him.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_06]: Zacharias Williams is giving them reasons to play him and it's just nice to see those young guys doing that and sort of if they're going to play this year, it's because they will enforce their way in the conversation, which is always nice to see.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_06]: Um, and then on to the bad news, the poorly-grade players on offense, uh, Titan Nellotupo was the, was the, uh, lowest grade, Willy Washer, the backup center.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_06]: Second lowest Carson Taberachie had a, had a rough game, just into how a new, had a rough game in all senses, uh, so in brachology, the backup guard, um, not a great outing for, for a lot of offensive linemen.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_06]: Wayman Jordan was not in the bottom 5, but he was the 6th lowest graded, which is not helped by the Fumble, which is currently the hot topic of discussion in the chat Which I think are we gonna have though?
- 26:29[SPEAKER_06]: Do we want to have the Waymo conversation right now?
- 26:31[SPEAKER_06]: Or do you want to wait?
- 26:32[SPEAKER_06]: Let's go for it.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_06]: Okay The Waymo conversation is is the fumbling problem a a problem?
- 26:40[SPEAKER_06]: No, you know, can I pull up?
- 26:42[SPEAKER_06]: Can I point out somebody who, uh, to put through or am I imagining it?
- 26:50[SPEAKER_06]: Uh, I might be imagining it.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, well, while you're thinking that, um, during the game, I looked up the way men Jordan stats, uh, PFF has, like, fumble stats that are accessible compared to a lot of places, which is, yeah, that's, that's it.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_06]: which is a massive pet peeve of mine, by the way, because fumbles are turnovers.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_06]: They are a significant stat that matters for how a team performs, or how a player performs.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_06]: And the fact that fumble stats are not available, except for behind paywalls with like an electric stuff, is crazy.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and so looking at Raymond Jordan, he has fumbled three times as the Trojan in eight games.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: Someone in the chat said seven and a half if you include in being heard and leaving the game last year in the middle of the game when he got hurt.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: The Michigan game I believe, right?
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, three, three fumbles in seven and a half games.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: Is that a lot?
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: Statistically it is because like looking at PFF and going back, the only Trojan I could find who had three fumbles in a full game, a full season, just in terms of the number of games that he has played roughly, is Marsha on Lloyd.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's the only person I could find that had three fumbles.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: that is a running back.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Caleb Williams had 16 fumbles in 2023, but that's a little bit beside the point.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_02]: So, yes, it's on the high side compared to all the USC running backs in the last several years.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: At the same time, it is hard to decipher.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: small sample sizes like this, is it, is it a fumbling problem?
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: It very well could be.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's something to be to be considerate of.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think you need to be have that in your mind when you're trying to divvy up carries and you have a play that you need to convert on and those are things that I think you weigh if you're the
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think you absolutely need him to still have confidence and still play him because right now on a per rush basis, he's through two games, he's your best running back.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: So he had five carries against Fresno State that were nine or more yards.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: King Miller had two and at one point he had three straight runs of 13 yards or more on Friday night.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's the way men Jordan you want him to be.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: And so how do you get him there?
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: You improve his confidence and you also find a way to improve his ability to hold on to the football.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think you can work on those things in practice and you can give him the confidence in the games and sort of hope for the best.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I'm not an expert on this.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how you fix a foumbling problem outside of like,
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: P.D.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: holding the ball and carrying it all the way home from school you know like I don't I don't know what the fix is I also like again it's seven and a half games I I don't know if he doesn't fumble for the rest of the season
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: This is, it's family problems fixed or did he still have family problems because then it's three fumbles in 17 and a half games and so physically that's considered a lot too.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't know, I,
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_06]: I'm not ready to hit the alarm bell after one fumble this season to be honest.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_06]: I think that running backs, some will have fumbling problems and some won't.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's the rescue, you take of running the fumble.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: The thing is, the perceptions of the rescue take of throwing the fumble.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_06]: The thing is, like you said, like he is too good of a weapon.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_06]: to not hand him the ball.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_06]: And if you have to, like, there is a threshold at which he is no longer worth the risk.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_06]: But he has not reached that threshold in slightest.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_06]: One thing I also want to point out that is a very big positive for this team, but also for Waymo and for King Miller because he's
- 31:45[SPEAKER_06]: Wayman, if you hand him the ball, good things are probably going to happen, if you can throw him the ball, and also you can have him out on the field and trust that he's going to do his job as a pass blocker, because he had an 80.0 pass block in grade in this for PFF.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_06]: King was at 79.7.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_06]: So USC's two starting running backs, by the way, the three freshman,
- 32:14[SPEAKER_06]: Um, which might be why the distribution of carries is uh, is is going on.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_06]: Um, but, um, can I just say something really quick before it leaves my mid my head because we have the FSU game up.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_06]: There were nine seconds on the clock.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_06]: They're, they're at, they're on their own, the, their own side of the field.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_06]: So like it's not the same thing, but there were nine seconds on the clock.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_06]: And I was sitting here going like,
- 32:38[SPEAKER_06]: this could get really, really, really funny in a moment.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_02]: What an interesting razzle dazzle play that's, uh, which is over.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_02]: I've never seen that, but I love that.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it's a good idea.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: If you, well, the problem is watching this, uh, they had their own, they're, follow them like the 20 yard line two seconds to go.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: There's no defensive line, so Ash and Daniels takes the snap and then just runs 30 yards forward.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no one is tackling him because they've got to wait for him to throw the ball backwards on a lateral.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, like that's a really easy way to just move the ball down the fields half the way first.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_02]: I like the creative.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_06]: I would also just as a sidebar.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know how much of this game you were watching.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_06]: in this final 20 seconds, Michael.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_06]: Not much.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_06]: But Asian Daniels, the Florida State quarterback, like I just want U.S. defense to appreciate what they have in J. and my other.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_06]: I just want you to appreciate what you haven't jamed my other because the more college football you watch, the more you realize that quarterback play in this sport is.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_06]: more often horrific than it is good and we we're all blessed to get to watch Shane my other play on a week to week basis instead of a lot of the other quarterbacks that I've watched this weekend and yeah Ashendit Daniels in this game Florida State
- 34:20[SPEAKER_06]: had for SMU turned the ball over four times and they still won this game.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_06]: They won Florida State won the turnover battle for nothing.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_06]: and they lost this game at home.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_06]: So things can always be worse, guys.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_06]: But my last thought on my last thought on Waymo, and it's just like the value added is as a runner, as a receiver, as a guy who can pick up blitzes or pick up past rushers, the overall package there
- 35:02[SPEAKER_06]: something that you cannot ignore because of one fumble this year, or, you know, two fumbles last year.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_06]: Like you said, the sample size is still way too low.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_06]: And as I said on the on the car cast, like the fumble in this game was.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_06]: There were some bad fumbles in this in the Florida State SMU game where it was just like your ball security was terrible dude.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_06]: The fumble and the the home of the way Mo had was like him falling upside down and losing the ball.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_06]: Like it just it's not really moving the needle for me in terms of of like this is a guy with a fumbling problem.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_06]: Like sometimes fumbles just happen because of weird body angles and stuff like that.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_06]: So
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's it's one of those things that you got to sort of be mindful of and you want to hope that he's able to sort of lock down.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_06]: This should absolutely be a point of of focus for him on the practice field and for the coaches and the like certainly.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, and it's one of those things where you just want to be, uh, I'm sorry, lock down the ball in his hands, uh, much like you can go over to my bookie and get the NFL.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, lock of the season, which is will, they see, I don't see hooks unveil and raise their Super Bowl LX championship banner.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think it should be yes.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think you can go over there as you get ready for the NFL season, the force kicks off on Wednesday, which is weird.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's weird.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: Let's kick it off on Wednesday, but Wednesday tomorrow if you're if you're listening to this on Tuesday.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_02]: Take take take your lunch go to my bookie and check out the the lock of the season and then you can also check out other things like NFL regular season player props.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like I lemon plus eight fifty on most receiving yard to the rookie.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I think that might be worth the thought.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: So all of those things go check out at my bookie, use the promo code, ROTS, that's ROT, to sign up with, instead of your season with the wind, bet on anything, anytime, anywhere that's promo code, ROT, must be 21 plus, 18 plus and select jurisdictions.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_02]: In terms of conditions, apply gambling, problem code, 1,800 gambler, visit 1,800 gambler,
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: That net for free, confidential support available 24-7.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Alicia, before we move on to the over under one last thing.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: Did you have any thoughts looking back at the Fresno State game about the attendance?
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we've talked about the attendance.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think we need to talk about the attendance.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, Lord.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm joking.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just screwed with you.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_06]: All right.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_06]: The pictures look great.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_06]: Like the Colosseum at night is always a site to behold.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_06]: And the pictures that were coming out from the stands were very good to look at.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: See you tomorrow, Render.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're going over.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm going bold, give me that over.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going, I gotta take it under here.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_03]: I got three under to take.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna do an under here.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: All right, big shout out to everyone who joined us with our over-under and played the game along with us.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_02]: Let's start with the first over-under, which of course was over under 3.75 Fresno State Yards Perk Harry.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: Alicia, I took the over, you took the over.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think our argument was 3.75
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: was a number that S.C. could hold them below with the first team defense, but that as a full game total might be difficult, uh, at least it was under and way under 1.3 yards per carry for Fresno State in this game.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: The lowest USC is allowed since 2023 when they allowed 0.14 yards per
- 39:13[SPEAKER_06]: was the UCLA one though, like, that was the quarterback sack yardage included, right?
- 39:20[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, the sack yardage in this one is certainly not helping Fresno's, uh, no.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: But no, but even if you go to the sack adjusted rushing yards, it was 2.8.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: I take that a thousand percent.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: If you're going to hold their running backs, the 2.8 yards per carry, you're going to hold those games if you do that.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_06]: Sign me up.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a thousand percent.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: So neither of us got that right, but we hope you guys did at home.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_02]: Next one, eight and a half Fresno State's fourth quarter points.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, Fc allowed 23 against San Jose state in week zero.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: I took the under.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_02]: You took the over.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_02]: It was under it was zero.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_02]: Fc allowed zero points in the fourth quarter because they allowed zero points in the third zero points in the second and zero points before that in the first quarter.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_02]: It was a shout out.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_02]: But like the fourth quarter was really where it was on the line to allow any points with the goal line stand there at the end.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, do you have the the game book up?
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I can.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_06]: How many how many drives were in the fourth quarter?
- 40:33[SPEAKER_02]: Two feet that's why it two drives in the fourth quarter one of them ended at 1233 the next one started at five minutes.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, so like my I will give the the backup the like the the clear the benches guys credit for getting that stop at the end and maintaining the maintaining the the shut up.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_06]: But honestly, the main difference between the Fresno State Game and the San Jose State Game was that those guys got like three or four drives in the fourth quarter and these guys got one drive to get one stop.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_06]: So it's not the same.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_06]: There were still a lot of issues, but
- 41:21[SPEAKER_06]: they also made more plays against Fresno State to get rid of that.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_06]: So, yeah, that's just why overunders a bit of a crap shoot.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_06]: This is why, you know, all of these are crap shoots because one game you end up with a bunch of drives in the in the fourth quarter and the other game, you just, they're literally just two.
- 41:43[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: to the next one, over under 0.5 Luke Wafel Sacks.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: I took the over, you took the over.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think the thought that we had in the preview here was
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: We're just riding with team team waifel.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: We're just not going to team waifel here.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_06]: We're just not going to be the one time that I take.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_06]: We're going to just run this back every week, by the way.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_06]: The one time that I take the under, he's going to get it.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_06]: We'll be the one time that he gets it.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: He did not get it in this game.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: It was under at the moment.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_06]: He had to be hit.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: But he did have to be hit.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he was as impactful as he was in game one,
- 42:27[SPEAKER_06]: he's a freshman in game two i think he was still very good in game two and he had that really really good tackle uh uh the tackle was which was well yeah the late hit was learning yes but that that run stop that he had the tackle for loss or run stop out on the edge was very impressive
- 42:46[SPEAKER_06]: Because we've seen a lot of guys fail to make that tackle.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_06]: So big ups to him.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_06]: Also, it's a little bit hard to get pressure off the edge when the defensive tackle is literally just running through the off the line immediately and like and ending the play there.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_06]: So, you know.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 100% last, sorry, next one, over under 1.75 GDA Bassiri runstuffs, he was really good against the run in week zero against San Jose State.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: Week one against Fresno states.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: At least, yeah, I took the over felt really good about this because of how good he was against energy.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: You took the under, the game too was all about his ability to get to the quarterback instead.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: So, no, he only had one tackle in this game, which was a sack.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_02]: So this was an under.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't even make a run stop no matter where it was on the field under.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_06]: And it's not like he was like it's not like this was a lot cited performance from him where like he was incredible Russian the pastor, but then getting you know blown away in the run game like he was doing fine in the run game.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_06]: This is the like.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_06]: I will take it because we're going to talk about my over-under score, but like this is the most cheap over-under victory that I've probably ever had.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: We were talking about it in the watch along in the car cast, Gini Abbasiri.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_02]: had one of the most impressive defensive line performances we have ever seen, like the only single performance I could think of that would be up there would be like the Lennar Williams against Stanford in 2014.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think you could put maybe Lennar Williams against Arizona too, low jack against ASU on things going to be night.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: set the sack record.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think like those are those are the games that I think of where a guy just had was so impactful.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, and then he had one tackle is the statline is not always telling you the truth.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: All right, next one, two and a half over under two and a half Mark Bowman catches.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: I felt really good about the under for some stupid reason that makes no sense.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_02]: And you just went with the over, you felt confident, even though in the watch along, I think we, I don't remember taking the over.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_06]: well you've written down that you took the I don't remember doing we need to check the tape not know I've actually we don't need to check the tape because I need the help I need the help in if if I miss wrote it down or something like that don't don't say anything we are big 10 refs we are putting one second back on the clock and we are letting my complete lack of memory of ever
- 45:56[SPEAKER_06]: The only thing I can think of is maybe I took the over just to be different than you.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe, either way, uh, it isn't over.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: It was three and they were all in the first quarter.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_06]: And third one was tight end up the scene.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: It was, it was quick.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_02]: Last one, if you watch the watch along, or if you watch the watch along Highlights would drop on YouTube and TikTok, go check those out seriously.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like, at a fun time putting them together, and I thought it was great.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_06]: You'll see, and you'll see in the Highlights,
- 46:32[SPEAKER_06]: I had taken the under on the marked moment perception.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but but also like I thought it would you were so entertained to watch talk about Jane Mayava, which of course was this one over under 286 and a half Jade Mayava passing yards
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: I took the under, you took the under.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: My thought on this was that Fresno State was really the I'm going to get in the past.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_02]: Number two in the country last year, against the past.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: So I thought S.U.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: would have more success on the ground and that Dave Maabra could throw for like 250.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_02]: Still have a successful day through the air, but not get the 286 and a half.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: We were way wrong.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: You almost had this in halftime.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_06]: He literally had 284 at halftime.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, it was over.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_06]: 149.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_06]: The only way this wasn't going to hit the over was if they just didn't play him in the second half.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you, you went to and four.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: in over under not a good week for you, not a good week for you, but I'll tell you who was a good week for.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_02]: The top rapants of the week who all went five and one, Trevor M John clown and 55, 19, Scotty C, all went five and one.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_06]: It's funny that they went five and one because somebody else went the inverse of that and they are mentioning it.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_06]: So there's just not going to mention the Michaels or underscore this week was one in five.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_02]: Top brought about to the season.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_02]: John Clown, 10 and two so far this season, 9 and 3 is Scotty C Trevor M in Trevor V, bunch of eight and fours, 55, 19, Brett from Irvine, DJ, David Orange County, Matt and Rancho.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_02]: All you guys that are playing, we appreciate you.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_02]: You guys can play with us every single week here with over under.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get to score predictions.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_02]: Vegas said,
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: FBI production was SC by 23, you said 35, 12, which is exactly 23.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_02]: I said 38, 16, just only 22.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_02]: At least we were sort of close with our SC score lines.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_02]: We did.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_02]: We did score 39 in this game.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_06]: We did have the USC scoring range in the area.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I don't know the old USA.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_06]: To be fair, I'm quite confident that anyone who says that they were predicting a shot out is lying.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, I don't know that we were
- 49:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I see wins 39 nothing which I we should check with our friend Richard who tracks this kind of stuff.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he's been was it a scorer got me Had to have been a 39 nothing
- 49:42[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe, I don't know, maybe we'll look it up.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: And let's get to some other stuff around college football before we get to the mail bag.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_02]: At least do you have any thoughts about week one as week one is all wrapped up around the country?
- 50:03[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, there will be no polls to discuss today because the polls will come out tomorrow morning.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_02]: On Tuesday morning, we can talk about the new poll.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: uh on Wednesday uh night when we preview SC and Louise Yanner um because of the long weekend and there were still games today with SMU and Florida State there were no polls uh coming out on Sunday.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_06]: Based on what I can see that it was a score of gummy.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_06]: Nice.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_06]: The only time like
- 50:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's just one 40 to now.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_06]: It's just very rare that teams and 38 score 39.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_06]: So like there was a 2225 game Maryland floored landing that was 39 7.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: But by the way, speaking of score.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I just I was this only last year though, hold on.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: I saw YouTube video that was served to me.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: The MLB had us go origami recently apparently.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't watch the video, but I just clicked on it.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: It will be has been around for literally hundreds of years at this point and they had a score of got me.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_06]: Is that nuts?
- 51:13[SPEAKER_06]: It was not a score of got me.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_06]: The SC score was not a score.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_06]: The SC score.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_06]: There have been 238 39 and nothing games.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_06]: Most recently.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_06]: It's not going to be.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_02]: If it was an SC score, got it.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, SC score of got me.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously it wasn't a call a triple score got me, but an SC score got me.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_06]: I can do all.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_06]: I can search by either way.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: It'll be a square gummy apparently a couple years ago with a 27 and a 9 which is nuts.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_06]: It was not a score of gummy because in 1954, 1950 and 1933, it was 39 zero for USC versus Washington State UCLA and Occidental.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_02]: There we go, Oxy.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_02]: All right, game time announced for Louisiana, we already know is 8 p.m. Rutgers will be at 12 30 p.m. on CBS next week, following week.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_02]: We already knew that, so no new game times, no polls, but at least a week one in the books now that Fresno is sorry, Florida State and SMU have wrapped up thoughts on week one.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, it was a lot of fun.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_06]: real, real chaotic and strange.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_06]: It was nice to, like we said, I think in the carcass that like, or in the preview, it's always nice when you as he plays on a Friday night and you get to sort of experience just the chaos from the, from a full weekend of games without having like USC hanging over your head one
- 52:54[SPEAKER_06]: So like Saturday was a ton of fun with with the Clemson Ellis you game and then the Michigan Western Michigan of it all.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_06]: Sunday was still fun with the the Ole Miss game going to the end and then tonight was fun with a power outage at FSU.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_06]: But I think the big story that's going to come out of this week is definitely the one second.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_06]: As Trobob says when you go to Michigan now you have to set your clocks back one second to Michigan time.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_06]: Um, so that's a whole, it's a whole mess.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm really enraging into a fucking.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I still have not heard a good enough explanation for why the sink.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_06]: was different between the broadcast and the Hawkeye system that they use for the big 10 uses for the replay center.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's a Wolverine system now.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_06]: Because like the broadcast and the
- 54:03[SPEAKER_06]: game clock, who were sinks when Western Michigan kicked their field goal just a few seconds, game clock seconds earlier, it's just like that needs to be explained, but beyond like we're never going to get a true explanation and there will never be justice done in terms of Western Michigan getting their, you know, win back or anything like that.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_06]: But I do think this could bring a positive change to college football to avoid any of these kinds of questions ever again.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_06]: I think adding minimum and a minimum college football should adopt what the NBA does for the expiration of time, which is a visual queue on the broadcast that cannot be denied when zeros have hit.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_06]: So whether it's putting a red strip along the outside of the, of the, the stands so that it's visible when at wherever the broadcast is, um, put it on the on the, um, I don't know the, the.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_06]: sideline or on the pylons or on the the first down marker on on whatever put it you know put them somewhere where there is a a white that lights up when it reaches absolute zero and then we wouldn't have this issue because we would have we wouldn't have to deal with a sink you'd have the visual cue of what is in isn't time.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the the whole thing is just infuriating.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_02]: I understand that if the refs never obviously never saw the NBC thing, then they were just going off of what they had.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: But again, like, then how could it get out of sync?
- 55:55[SPEAKER_02]: And how did, how did you sort of go from there?
- 55:58[SPEAKER_02]: I will say, the talk about Michigan fans rushing the fields, utterly embarrassing a thousand percent, I agree.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_02]: At the same time.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_02]: You're a college kid, you're 19.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's your first college game ever.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_02]: You just saw your team win on a Hail Mary.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_02]: In that moment, you are not thinking about all of your historical traditions, all of the context of it,
- 56:36[SPEAKER_02]: You just, oh my god, we went on a Hail Mary.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going crazy.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I can understand how it happened.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_02]: Where I will get it also embarrassing at the same time.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_06]: Where I will push back is that
- 56:49[SPEAKER_06]: At USC, and I assume everywhere around the country, student sections are first come for serve.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_06]: And the true diehard should be the ones who are closest to the field.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_06]: The ones who would get there hours and hours before the game.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna push back on that.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_02]: The people who are there closest to the field are the ones who want to be on TV.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, that's fair.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_02]: Not necessarily the most diehard.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, but also like the percentage of people who were there in that student section and in that stadium were more likely to be people who have been around the block and should know what what Michigan stature is and should have felt enough shame to prevent a field storming.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry, like
- 57:38[SPEAKER_06]: It's just somebody looked it up about like the all the field Stormings that have ever happened.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_06]: And like this is by far the most pathetic one in terms of the favor that like the favorite rushing the field.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_06]: after, you know, winning on a last second, like you just I don't care how you end the game.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_06]: You should know that like if USC had one beaten Stanford on a walkoff touchdown on a Hail Mary touchdown in in 2007, I can tell you note like the call of seeing would not have rushed the damn field.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_06]: Everyone was pissed.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_02]: everyone was pissed because it didn't have.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, that's true.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm just saying, like, I, I, I think we can all sit here and say we wouldn't rush the field if it was us.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that we would all like believe that in that moment when your team wins on a Hail Mary.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_02]: And you are a college kid who doesn't have the full history of the of the program and everything.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's really easy to just start running.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_06]: So that's that's all I said, but the question I have is, if you were an AP voter and we don't get to see the answer to this until Tuesday morning, yeah, so not while we're recording this, but would you still have Michigan ranked?
- 59:03[SPEAKER_06]: They started this season at number 16.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think that like, even if they win that fair and square, they would be dropping spots.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_02]: They played it cautiously, regardless of how the score ended.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I talk about it all the time.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think that the I test is so valuable for things.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_02]: You can win all your games and look like ass.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that that needs to be discussed.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_06]: Like what I hate, what I hate is that my suspicion is that the voters will drop Michigan, but not fully out of the polls.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_06]: And like a team like Louisville, Louisville is going to drop out.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_06]: Louisville who took Ole Miss to the end, a top 10 ranked Ole Miss team is probably going to drop out because they're Owen won.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_06]: But Michigan, who, by every mark, I would say Louisville looked like a better team than Michigan.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_06]: just because of, and this is why preseason polls do matter by the way, but like I really hope they show us a backbone and just say no, that's not, I, this is not happening.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a world where Louisville stays about the same.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I have to stress every two outfalls.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_02]: They're multidimensional.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I think a lot of people, a lot of Louisville voters.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_02]: might keep Louisville where it was, but if other teams go up, then they could still end up dropping.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_02]: Who lost?
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_02]: Where the teams at Lost ahead of SC?
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody, right?
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_02]: No, and that's the thing is like, and nobody ahead of Michigan lost.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_02]: The only ranked team that
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, I thought like when you look at like Boise state loss, but they should absolutely be ranked Louisville and Boise state should both be in the top 25, based on basic voices.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_02]: So Boise state right now is 28th there in others receiving votes.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think they end up ranked absolutely they should end up ranked.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_02]: Clemson gets ends up getting zero votes and they were 26 though.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: That allows teams to move up and move forward.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, let me stay ahead eight votes.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, again, well, loud teams to move forward.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_06]: By the way, again, we can we just point out the the one of the teams with four.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_06]: Four votes in the others receiving votes in the stop 25.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Louisiana region cage in the US.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_02]: He plays next week.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's Louisiana.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I'm isn't to pull up the pole.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm right now to see like how they got ranked.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_02]: Did where they ranked four.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, right by four people or did somebody ranked them number 21.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_06]: I'm going to guess one person ranked them number 21.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm I'm looking this up right now.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_02]: Um, keep, keep, keep, keep, keep, keep darken.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_06]: Um, yeah, but like I think I really hope that the voters take into account that this was a preseason poll.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_06]: You don't have to keep teams exactly where you had them in the preseason.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_06]: You don't have to drop them the way that we do based on you lost.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_06]: So therefore you drop X amount of points or whatever.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_06]: Look at who the top 25 teams in the country looked like.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_06]: In this opening weekend or these two two weekends and Michigan will not be in there and teams like Florida like like Boise State and Louisville will be It's it's really like it's it's really simple.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_06]: I expect Oregon to drop or I expect Oregon to lose their first place folks.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_06]: They had 14 and I expect them to drop because of it.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_06]: I think that we'll probably see
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_06]: LSU probably rises above Oklahoma and Ole Miss, maybe Texas A&M, but yeah, LSU will move up for sure.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_06]: Let's see, Lamont says I like Joel Clats ranking.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_06]: He has USC at 10 and he dropped to Oregon.
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I think that look like the number, I thought, I thought that game had so much more to do with Boise State looking really good and we're always starting to see them kind of slow, but they didn't look like the number two team in the country.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_06]: So, you know, here's a question from Randy, what USC win this year could spark a rushing of the field Ohio State?
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_06]: Oregon, Oregon, that you as you address the field of if they beat Oregon.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, but I also think remember that rushing the field requires two elements in my view.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_06]: One of them is that the team that you beat is either arrival or is highly ranked and you are then and a heavy favorite.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_06]: And number two, the win has to come late.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_06]: because if you are ahead by like 14 in the fourth quarter and then you just win by kneeling out the clock or whatever, like you don't rush the field in that case, we rush the field in 2013 when USC beats Stanford because it was on a last second field goal against a highly ranked team that was favored over USC and a rival who had beaten USC I think four years in a row.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_06]: So like there were good reasons to rush the field.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think that, you know, I think you need to sort of have that context in mind always if you're sitting there going like, are we going to rest the field?
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_06]: Because I was in the stands there that day, we were talking as USC before US even got to line up the field goal.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_06]: Like, are we going to rest the field?
- 1:05:11[SPEAKER_06]: Hell, yeah, we're going to rest the field because, right, organ, a win over organ is field rushable.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_06]: If you rush the field against Oregon, you don't get to rush the field against Ohio State, unless you win on a last second thing.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_06]: But those are the two home games that you can rush the field for.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I've looked this up.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_02]: I've done research.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_02]: SPN's ranking is incorrect.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_02]: Louisiana has zero AP.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_02]: So on ESPN.com it says that Louisiana has four points.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_02]: That's incorrect.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_06]: Are the rest of them like the Georgia Tech up four points?
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of those are wrong.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_02]: Weird.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_02]: But a lot of them are also Georgia Tech.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_02]: The Georgia Tech had four points.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's wild.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_06]: Weird.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_06]: Well, today we learned.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_02]: You've got mail.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's start with some phone calls.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_02]: We got Ellie Fred.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, Rayna Troy is Ellie Fred calling.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_05]: Well, thanks, Michael, for playing my entire call last week.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_05]: But I don't want it to be just me.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_05]: Come on, all of you, other Rayna Troy listeners, get your calls in.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_05]: One of my favorite parts of the show is hearing all the other different voices and other thoughts during the call in montage.
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_05]: on a few of the individuals I felt deserve to shout out this week.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_05]: First, our freshman-wide receivers, Trent Mosley, Caden Dixon Wyatt, guys are both playing well beyond their youth and experience thus far, and have more than filled the whole left by McCoy and Jacobi who went to the NFL.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_05]: Defensively, the game was absolutely dominated by J.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_05]: A. Abysserie.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_05]: He was literally a one-man
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_05]: Even though if you look at the box score, his name won't appear with any of the credit to show forward at all.
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_05]: The final score showed a UFC shout out when a 39-to-nothing, but it wasn't all wine and roses.
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_05]: The run game was very disappointing.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_05]: UFC has 37 cherries for only 140 yards.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_05]: That's a measly 3.8 yards per cherry average, which in case if you don't know, not very good.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_05]: Last year, a year which FC had major problems running in the ball, they are about 5.2 yards to carry.
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_05]: Then, of course, there were the three fumbles.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_05]: Clearly, a lot still the work on and get cleaned up moving forward.
- 1:08:03[SPEAKER_05]: I do have to end on a positive note, however.
- 1:08:05[SPEAKER_05]: I love seeing the greater depth and competitiveness on USC all over the field.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_05]: Guys are playing it hard, doing the extra effort little things,
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_05]: There are other capable guys ready and willing to come in and Wally picked them right back off the field.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_05]: That is how good and elite programs get built enjoy the holiday right spot be the raising cage and fight on everybody.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for the calls always.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_02]: Ali Fred wonderful wonderful great great for my life Fred is as usual.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, I think I'm muted.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_06]: There we go.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks to the calls always.
- 1:08:47[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and listen to my friend guys, we should spend less time talking about whether or not USC rushes the field against Oregon and more time talking about how we better have a rant or a rave line after that game that is massive and you only have a couple weeks to get, you know,
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_06]: you got to you got to work your way into it right you don't want you don't want the Oregon game to be the first time you've ever called in you won't have the rhythm down you won't have the the sort of feel for it you might be a little nervous so call in give me a reason to spend four hours editing them exactly yes yeah put more on Michael's plate he doesn't have enough there you know eight one eight six four three seven two two seven call in during the game
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_02]: Put the phone number in your phone right now when something happens in the game.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_02]: Give us a call, let us know what you're thinking.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_02]: We got our super chat, by the way.
- 1:09:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, hey.
- 1:09:45[SPEAKER_02]: From Justin Sanders.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_02]: Cheers.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_02]: Cheers.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_02]: You appreciate, yeah.
- 1:09:51[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate all of our, all of our hot bots.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_02]: Justin, of course, included.
- 1:09:57[SPEAKER_02]: You guys couldn't do it without the support that you guys provide us.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go to a call we got from Dre.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_04]: my name is Leon Joy.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_04]: I am Jerry Day.
- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_04]: In the comment section, I was going to say, like I said in the comments section, where are those fans that they were complaining about how our defense performed last weekend?
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_04]: I knew with Lincoln Riley getting his first number one recruiting class.
- 1:10:32[SPEAKER_04]: We need at least two to three years to build enough dent to wherever like the other early schools.
- 1:10:41[SPEAKER_04]: And so my complaint with the problem in section last weekend was I don't like I believe you guys a hundred percent.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_04]: Which is why I stated I don't understand why.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_04]: Friends are assuming we are supposed to be at this level instantly.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_04]: When the reality is taken years, but then it also takes players to buy in to what they are trying to do.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_04]: And so all of you to say is keep killing and dying as you guys are the best.
- 1:11:13[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad that gave and mentioned you guys because we're following you guys in this 2022.
- 1:11:18[SPEAKER_04]: And so keep killing it.
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_04]: I love you guys content every week.
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_04]: So keep filling it out, fight on.
- 1:11:27[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, thanks for that, thanks for that, Dre.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_06]: See, follow, follow Dre's example.
- 1:11:31[SPEAKER_06]: I'm pretty sure this was Dre's first call-in.
- 1:11:34[SPEAKER_06]: Thanks, Dre.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_06]: I have a terrible memory, so apologies, Dre, if you've called him before.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_06]: But thank you so much for calling in.
- 1:11:41[SPEAKER_06]: And yeah, the Trojan Blade game does mentions us a lot on his channel.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_06]: We really appreciate that.
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_06]: So always want to return the favor there.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_06]: If you guys don't know about Trojan Blade on YouTube and Twitter.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_06]: But, yeah, Dre, I agree, like I think that when it comes to the defense, I think there was so much doomsdaying after that performance that was completely unnecessary against San Jose State, and also just, I want people to recognize the process and that
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_06]: If USC doesn't have a perfect defense this year, that doesn't necessarily mean that we're going down the same path as with Grinch and with Lynn and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_06]: And even with Lynn, there were signs of life in the end and it just didn't work out with him leaving.
- 1:12:37[SPEAKER_06]: give Gary Patterson some time to work here and give the freshman time to make their freshman mistakes and give the veterans time to settle into a brand new scheme and you know just take each performance for what it is and it doesn't always have to be this explosive like
- 1:13:00[SPEAKER_06]: extreme one way or the other it's not always perfect is like if it's a good performance this this shutout doesn't mean the u.s. he's going to beat organ um but also the twenty the twenty something points in the fourth quarter last week had nothing to do with sort of whether or not this defense is going to be good you know yeah if it doesn't mean that they're going to be organ at the same time if a u.s.e.
- 1:13:23[SPEAKER_02]: team was to beat organ
- 1:13:25[SPEAKER_02]: what they would what they did against Fresno State would be the kind of things they would have done against Fresno State you know like like there's I think there's a lot of new ones here because the I agree with with with with Dre and what you were talking about about like you've got it you've got to have give grace for people to learn the defense and for the coaches to take
- 1:13:52[SPEAKER_02]: and at the same time, because there's a lot of talk about like, yeah, but it's here five.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_02]: They should already have a great defense.
- 1:14:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's here five.
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, two things can be true at once.
- 1:14:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:14:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yes, they're ideally Lincoln Riley would have gotten the first defensive coordinator higher, correct.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then ideally, the second defense of coordinator wouldn't have had his alma mater open up for him to leave.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, a thousand percent.
- 1:14:25[SPEAKER_02]: At the same time, that's the situation that is occurred.
- 1:14:30[SPEAKER_02]: And so I don't think that, like, you know what it is.
- 1:14:36[SPEAKER_02]: You know when people are young and they plan out their life, I want to be
- 1:14:44[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, graduated by 22.
- 1:14:47[SPEAKER_02]: I want to be engaged by 23.
- 1:14:49[SPEAKER_02]: I want to be married by 24.
- 1:14:50[SPEAKER_02]: I want to have a child by 25.
- 1:14:54[SPEAKER_02]: All these things, right?
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, ideally you would love that to happen.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I want that for you, too.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_02]: Great.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_02]: That'd be great if that happened, right?
- 1:15:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well, all of a sudden, now it's your 23 and a half and you're not even dating anybody.
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, but I was supposed to get married at 25.
- 1:15:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, at 24 and I was supposed to have my kid at 25.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:15:18[SPEAKER_02]: But like...
- 1:15:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well, though you need to reevaluate and like where you're at, like reevaluate the reality of the situation here, like, yes, should S C have an elite defense by year five, if Lincoln Riley was going to have the impact that we all thought he would originally, yes, I think we all agree.
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_02]: But it hasn't happened.
- 1:15:42[SPEAKER_02]: So you can't expect it to immediately happen overnight, but you also need to have the nuance of, well, it's gotta start happening really soon now.
- 1:15:52[SPEAKER_02]: uh... while also allowing them to jell with the new defense like all these things can be true and you have to sort of this is why everything's great right like it and that everything is in this tight little perfect black and white box that is easy to say team must be good team is good therefore they are good like
- 1:16:14[SPEAKER_02]: They are working towards being better, and that's what you want to see, and you hope that they are better quicker than you would have liked them to see get better because they have to make up for lost time.
- 1:16:31[SPEAKER_02]: But the step that they took from game one to game two was
- 1:16:34[SPEAKER_02]: absolutely a step that you would have loved them to see and they did it.
- 1:16:37[SPEAKER_02]: So now, can they continue to make those steps?
- 1:16:40[SPEAKER_02]: Can they continue to go forward?
- 1:16:41[SPEAKER_02]: Those are the questions to sort of have and you want to see them continue to grow.
- 1:16:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like one game against Freser State is not going to solve all their problems, but it's a sign that they are working in the direction that you want them to work into.
- 1:16:58[SPEAKER_02]: Randy and the Chet says, as SSE ever had back-to-back shoutouts, yes.
- 1:17:04[SPEAKER_02]: several times throughout history the most recent time 2008 that was going to be my guess as these greatest defense of all time um... issue
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_02]: shut out 28, nothing at the Colosseum, October 11th of 2008.
- 1:17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Seven days later, SC goes up to Pullman and Beats Washington State, 69, nothing, the game in which SC had allowed the fewest yards against Fresno State since that 69, nothing when over Washington State.
- 1:17:37[SPEAKER_02]: The crazy thing is you look at the 2008 season.
- 1:17:42[SPEAKER_02]: As you see when's 28 nothing following week watches the 69 nothing week after that it's 17 10 over Arizona followed by 56 nothing and 17 to three It is crazy.
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_02]: I see allowed double digits one two three four five times that season And 10 points or less nine times.
- 1:18:11[SPEAKER_02]: insane.
- 1:18:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you would kill for that now.
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_06]: And, and, and it's.
- 1:18:15[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah, 100%.
- 1:18:18[SPEAKER_06]: But also, I want to, like, impress upon people that if USC doesn't shut out Louisiana, that's not the sign of life, it's not necessarily a step backwards.
- 1:18:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:18:29[SPEAKER_06]: If USC allows, if the USC's starting defense allows a touchdown against Louisiana, it's not the end of the world.
- 1:18:36[SPEAKER_06]: It doesn't mean that everything that we saw from the first two weeks was fake or something like that.
- 1:18:41[SPEAKER_06]: Again, let's take everything for what it is and recognize that sometimes the opposing team will make a good play.
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_06]: And hopefully what we want to see for USC is just the consistency of the guys being in the right place and knowing what to do and tackling what when they are there.
- 1:19:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:19:02[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's go to we got two calls from Cameron first go Texas.
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's the first one.
- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_03]: They ran a choice, came for Frisco Taxis, got to do a Pablo or Ray-Vine as a big win against Fresno State.
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_03]: Oh wait, how many points in Fresno State score?
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_03]: Oh wait, zero, holy cow.
- 1:19:18[SPEAKER_03]: We pull the shut off.
- 1:19:19[SPEAKER_03]: Our defense played spectacular, holy cow.
- 1:19:23[SPEAKER_03]: What an incredible game plan by Gary Patterson.
- 1:19:27[SPEAKER_03]: What a great game, excuse me, by the players, because they're not just Gary Patterson.
- 1:19:31[SPEAKER_03]: that should deserve that shut-out win.
- 1:19:33[SPEAKER_03]: It's those players.
- 1:19:34[SPEAKER_03]: They played remarkable the defense of front linebacker secondary.
- 1:19:37[SPEAKER_03]: We saw improvements from the safety position, which obviously we saw problems with them in week one, technically we zero, but the first year in the season.
- 1:19:45[SPEAKER_03]: And I could say MVP of that, um,
- 1:19:47[SPEAKER_03]: That game most definitely have to be like you'd have a theory can you relax or maintain the Erlacker step up after a poor performance a week before and once again offense looking great Those freshmen.
- 1:19:59[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god.
- 1:20:00[SPEAKER_03]: They make me drill trap mostly.
- 1:20:02[SPEAKER_03]: Can you fix who I is?
- 1:20:04[SPEAKER_03]: Mark Bowman.
- 1:20:06[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god.
- 1:20:06[SPEAKER_03]: I cannot wait to see more of those guys clean clean key cooking because the more us they get more comfortably get the better They'll be come you know the biggest Oregon Ohio State Indiana cannot wait for the rest of the season Super excited for the rest of the football year fight on and let's beat the Raging cages.
- 1:20:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think the raging cages Uh, who cares?
- 1:20:29[SPEAKER_03]: They're a Louisiana team.
- 1:20:30[SPEAKER_03]: What probably beat the pretty bad.
- 1:20:31[SPEAKER_03]: So let's just get ready for big ten plate fight out
- 1:20:34[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks to the call cam as always.
- 1:20:35[SPEAKER_02]: There we go.
- 1:20:36[SPEAKER_02]: There you go, LA Fred, a little bit of a some red line action.
- 1:20:39[SPEAKER_06]: And I think we're going with beat the cations.
- 1:20:42[SPEAKER_06]: Cations.
- 1:20:42[SPEAKER_06]: Is that what the band is going to say?
- 1:20:44[SPEAKER_06]: I, I'm going to, I've got to believe that that's what they're going to say, the cage is now you can't do too many syllables.
- 1:20:50[SPEAKER_02]: The cages.
- 1:20:51[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, beat the cations.
- 1:20:52[SPEAKER_06]: which um it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it
- 1:21:16[SPEAKER_06]: on Saturday.
- 1:21:19[SPEAKER_06]: And that was an experience.
- 1:21:21[SPEAKER_06]: They play at our Lady of Lord's Stadium or something like that, which I didn't realize is Louisiana or a religious school?
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_06]: Apparently.
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_02]: Louisiana Southern Louisiana is an extremely religious.
- 1:21:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm sure they, but is it a, but is it a, they call
- 1:21:44[SPEAKER_02]: This is true.
- 1:21:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably the most Catholic that you can get.
- 1:21:47[SPEAKER_06]: Well, now I'm wondering if it's a Holy Cross school.
- 1:21:52[SPEAKER_06]: What Louisiana, Louisiana's a public school.
- 1:21:54[SPEAKER_06]: Cajun Field at our Lady of Lord Stadium.
- 1:21:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably like a local hospital or something.
- 1:22:01[SPEAKER_06]: The University of Louisiana, Lafayette, yeah.
- 1:22:04[SPEAKER_06]: It's a public school.
- 1:22:06[SPEAKER_06]: But it's just, it's also a, it's a, why is their football field named Cajun Field at our Lady of Lord?
- 1:22:14[SPEAKER_06]: It's nicknamed the swamp.
- 1:22:22[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, either way, it felt like a high school broadcast.
- 1:22:25[SPEAKER_06]: It was on ESPN Plus, it felt like a high school broadcast.
- 1:22:28[SPEAKER_06]: They were using the radio, the local radio call for the broadcast commentary.
- 1:22:35[SPEAKER_06]: And they were exclusively referring to quarterback lunch when field as lunch.
- 1:22:40[SPEAKER_06]: So I will be referring to lunch exclusively.
- 1:22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, well, we'll see you, though.
- 1:22:56[SPEAKER_02]: I like a lot of rest in peace, German nights in the in the chat.
- 1:23:00[SPEAKER_02]: You are correct.
- 1:23:01[SPEAKER_06]: It's it's the naming rights by our Lady of Lords Regional Medical Center as the naming rights for the stadium.
- 1:23:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that that makes a lot of sense.
- 1:23:12[SPEAKER_06]: I get it, though.
- 1:23:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:23:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's like if there was a Providence Arena where it was the hotel, I mean the hospital group for some time.
- 1:23:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:23:27[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go to Cam's second call.
- 1:23:29[SPEAKER_03]: They were enjoyed, it came from first of Texas again.
- 1:23:31[SPEAKER_03]: I have a question I got to ask you guys.
- 1:23:33[SPEAKER_03]: Should I be concerned about the way Montyred and Fumbleitis is from this past game against President state?
- 1:23:38[SPEAKER_03]: Because obviously we had a lot of Fumbleitis issues in the way now last year.
- 1:23:42[SPEAKER_03]: We came to Illinois, Michigan, et cetera.
- 1:23:45[SPEAKER_03]: Should I be concerned about it for this year and going moving forward?
- 1:23:51[SPEAKER_03]: So thanks, fight on, be three to Cajun.
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks.
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, Camp.
- 1:23:56[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about this earlier.
- 1:23:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:23:57[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's what I was referring to and I said I thought somebody referenced it.
- 1:24:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think it can be concerned.
- 1:24:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's it's a reason not to play him at this point.
- 1:24:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:24:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think you should be concerned.
- 1:24:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:24:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think you should be concerned about everything.
- 1:24:11[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to, you know, be the best you can pick.
- 1:24:14[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:24:15[SPEAKER_02]: Um, we got an email from Brits.
- 1:24:17[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I can only say it due to the game clock controversy at the end of the Michigan game last Saturday.
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm submitting an unsolicited hot takes last prediction.
- 1:24:25[SPEAKER_02]: In 2027, college football will change the in-game stadium clock display format to match the format used in college basketball on the NBA, where the final minute of each period displays full seconds to the left of the colon and hundreds of seconds to the right of the colon.
- 1:24:43[SPEAKER_02]: This would offer better transparency for the fans, players, coaches, media, and hopefully reduce baseless conspiracy theories.
- 1:24:51[SPEAKER_02]: What's a you fight on beat the rake and cage and sprint from Irvine.
- 1:24:54[SPEAKER_02]: I am for this because there's a lot of the theories into there's a, there's a fun when you can't see the milliseconds, it's really easy to sit there and throw out
- 1:25:09[SPEAKER_02]: thoughts about what the milliseconds could be.
- 1:25:13[SPEAKER_02]: When the reality is, here I go, it's jumping on the same thing, but my understanding is if it says 0, 0, 1 on the game clock as we have now, that could also mean 0.0, 1 seconds.
- 1:25:29[SPEAKER_02]: If it said 0.9, it would also say 0, 0, 1.
- 1:25:39[SPEAKER_02]: And so like
- 1:25:41[SPEAKER_02]: if it said 1.1, if it was 1.1 seconds in basketball clock, that would be 0.2 in football clock.
- 1:25:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 1:25:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I believe my understanding is that's how it is.
- 1:25:54[SPEAKER_02]: But to Brits Point, you solve a lot of those things transparency-wise by just showing that out there, by having it.
- 1:26:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know that it solves this issue, but I think it does solve conspiracy issues stuff.
- 1:26:12[SPEAKER_02]: Um, would help because then it wouldn't matter if the, um, it wouldn't matter how many tenths of a second are, wouldn't matter about the tenths of a second, because it would not matter about whether or not the TV clock was right either.
- 1:26:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:26:28[SPEAKER_06]: The, the NCAA rule book specifically says not to use 10th of a second, which means that when the game clock hits zero, that is absolute zero.
- 1:26:41[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:26:43[SPEAKER_06]: So they would have to change that rule, which they could certainly to avoid this kind of thing.
- 1:26:48[SPEAKER_06]: But I think it's simply easier.
- 1:26:51[SPEAKER_06]: Because you because I think it's much easier and simpler to just say we're not going to use 10th to the second we're going to use an absolute zero with a red light and if if the if the play is.
- 1:27:07[SPEAKER_06]: alive or dead based on the red light that appears on the on the video feed, then we add one second and we don't we we're not adding 0.3 seconds or 0.6 seconds or we're just adding one second and one second is one second, you know.
- 1:27:23[SPEAKER_02]: My problem with the red light is in basketball it's really easy because you can put the red light where it needs to be.
- 1:27:31[SPEAKER_02]: In college football,
- 1:27:36[SPEAKER_02]: The idea that the red light could be on the gold post would make a lot of sense for this use case.
- 1:27:42[SPEAKER_02]: But let's look at a real-world U.S.E.
- 1:27:44[SPEAKER_02]: use case, 2011 against Stanford.
- 1:27:48[SPEAKER_02]: Crosser to Robert Woods, he's trying to get out of bounds, and he does not get out of bounds in time.
- 1:27:53[SPEAKER_02]: And Andrew, Andrew Dari, cannot come in and kick the game when he feels gold when the game before open time.
- 1:28:00[SPEAKER_02]: If there, if he, if there was a, a light, yes, I think they could have been able to potentially see, make the call a little bit clearer and everything, but where do you put that light?
- 1:28:12[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's why I was running out of bounds at the 35 right.
- 1:28:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think, where do you put the light in front of the sideline?
- 1:28:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think you put the light around the ring of the stadium, the lower bowl of the, but then you then you need the camera to catch the moment and the light will and still be clear enough.
- 1:28:33[SPEAKER_06]: Well, then in that case, based on where you're going to have your broadcast camera in any stadium, you've affixed the light all the way around in whatever
- 1:28:43[SPEAKER_06]: Whatever configuration makes the most sense.
- 1:28:46[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have do you have a light that is attached to the camera itself?
- 1:28:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, maybe that's the and the the frame lights up or something like I don't know.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's a great theory.
- 1:28:58[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't know how it's practical.
- 1:29:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's that's my
- 1:29:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's, that's my thought.
- 1:29:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think it could be easily though.
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:29:06[SPEAKER_02]: Joe Bobbin the chat says that Riverwood did get out of him.
- 1:29:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's tough.
- 1:29:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:29:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember.
- 1:29:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember what my opinion was on that.
- 1:29:13[SPEAKER_06]: I don't remember thinking that he, that USC should have had time.
- 1:29:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:29:19[SPEAKER_02]: I remember being mad at Rojo.
- 1:29:21[SPEAKER_02]: I, for, Roowow.
- 1:29:23[SPEAKER_02]: Roowow.
- 1:29:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I, I remember thinking that he could have,
- 1:29:28[SPEAKER_02]: Started out of bounds easier, but that was way easier to say, 59 rows up.
- 1:29:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:29:34[SPEAKER_02]: And 35 yards away.
- 1:29:36[SPEAKER_06]: So just a clarifying that Mr. Puka had he said, wasn't the stadium clock different from the big 10 clock?
- 1:29:40[SPEAKER_06]: No, both the broadcast replay that was being shown and the big 10 replay thing.
- 1:29:48[SPEAKER_06]: We're looking at the camera that is on the stadium clock every broadcast has a camera that is dedicated to the stadium clock and sometimes during broadcasts you will see the clock that they're showing like
- 1:30:05[SPEAKER_02]: the overly like a digital.
- 1:30:07[SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes they will, they will simply just put that camera in there.
- 1:30:12[SPEAKER_06]: If they can't sort of align them or whatever, there was a sync problem.
- 1:30:16[SPEAKER_06]: Something was out of sync, either the NBC broadcast was out of sync or.
- 1:30:22[SPEAKER_06]: But to replay booth was out of sync.
- 1:30:25[SPEAKER_02]: Thing about the replay booth was looking at a clock that was not the same clock that we were looking at at home.
- 1:30:32[SPEAKER_02]: So that's where like it should have all been continued to be synced, but at some point it wasn't the same at that point.
- 1:30:39[SPEAKER_06]: No, the clock that was on the like the thing that the Big Ten sent out that video, that clock is the it's the it's the same it's the same camera of.
- 1:30:51[SPEAKER_06]: the stadium.
- 1:30:52[SPEAKER_02]: On that view, the call was correct.
- 1:30:56[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 1:30:56[SPEAKER_02]: And on the TV view, it's, yes, correct.
- 1:30:59[SPEAKER_06]: But the view that they big means it's not the same view that the big 10 gave us is a different camera than the broadcast was showing us.
- 1:31:08[SPEAKER_06]: So the broadcast is showing us one camera up here.
- 1:31:11[SPEAKER_06]: And the, and the big 10 is showing us this camera from behind.
- 1:31:15[SPEAKER_06]: And so there is one of these cameras is not synced properly.
- 1:31:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but the the the point is that the the replay officials were not seen the same number that we were Yes, exactly.
- 1:31:29[SPEAKER_02]: So you agree.
- 1:31:30[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 1:31:31[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:31:32[SPEAKER_02]: Got it.
- 1:31:33[SPEAKER_06]: I'm just saying it was the same Like it wasn't a different clock
- 1:31:40[SPEAKER_06]: the cl- like the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the- the
- 1:32:09[SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely nothing.
- 1:32:09[SPEAKER_06]: USC is not going to give us any information.
- 1:32:13[SPEAKER_06]: They don't give any information about injuries.
- 1:32:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's the ultimate luxury at this point.
- 1:32:17[SPEAKER_06]: When we get, if he's not back by the Louisiana game, we will get a Wednesday injury report ahead of the Rutgers game.
- 1:32:24[SPEAKER_06]: Because that's the, the big 10.
- 1:32:30[SPEAKER_06]: Injury reports requirement change that happened.
- 1:32:33[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah.
- 1:32:34[SPEAKER_02]: email from Tony Michael Alicia this is Tony from the nor a PA that was a dominant performance from all three phases of the game offense defense and special teams it was nice to see the defense hold on to the shot out Let's enjoy this one and get ready for the next one fight on sent from my iPhone Thank you Tony Yeah, thank you Tony is always something up perfectly.
- 1:32:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, basically.
- 1:32:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all three face what a
- 1:33:04[SPEAKER_02]: The trip mostly wasn't as impactful and special teams against the same way as against Senor State.
- 1:33:13[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it was flawless performance.
- 1:33:16[SPEAKER_06]: I can't even think of a single special team's moment.
- 1:33:20[SPEAKER_02]: The only special thing's moment I can think of was a bad one, which was one of the short kicks on the kickoff.
- 1:33:26[SPEAKER_02]: They sort of flipped it.
- 1:33:28[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:33:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:33:30[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:33:31[SPEAKER_02]: Lamont says, Question, if we don't pull the starters until mid-fourth quarter, what would you guess the score would have been against Fresno State?
- 1:33:41[SPEAKER_06]: Um, Well, probably into the forties.
- 1:33:45[SPEAKER_06]: I'm maybe one for a touchdown.
- 1:33:51[SPEAKER_02]: I think if anything, it's one more touchdown because looking at it, there was only one drive.
- 1:33:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:33:54[SPEAKER_02]: There's only one drive that that they end up hunting.
- 1:33:55[SPEAKER_02]: Seven plays 34 yards, which on a cell, a gentleman cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell, on a cell,
- 1:34:09[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and so let's just say that that's a touchdown, then it's 46.
- 1:34:13[SPEAKER_02]: Now that I don't think it drastically changed.
- 1:34:14[SPEAKER_02]: No, and then the zero doesn't change.
- 1:34:17[SPEAKER_06]: And and remember that we we sort of called this before the game that like, USC was probably not going to put up 70 points or anything close to it in this game because this was always going to be a game that didn't have a ton of drives and that came to pass.
- 1:34:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:34:32[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if you want to ask the question about Saturday State, I don't think SC 42 points changes at all because they continue to score even with the question there.
- 1:34:51[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just let's say SC win that game 42-10.
- 1:34:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know something like that.
- 1:34:56[SPEAKER_06]: Well, maybe if there's not the
- 1:35:01[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 1:35:01[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:35:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:35:03[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:35:04[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:35:06[SPEAKER_02]: We will be back Wednesday nights 9pm.
- 1:35:09[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's late 9pm Pacific.
- 1:35:11[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's late.

- 1:35:30[SPEAKER_02]: and we'll be back Wednesday, 9 p.m. Pacific, the preview, SC against lunch, windfields, and the Louisiana Rage and Cages.
- 1:35:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm super excited for it because the Louisiana Rage and Cages, not a team SC has ever played, fun name, there's going to be a fun name as everything.
- 1:35:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to play a fun game, roster game, and I want to put together to ask you, Alicia, on the pot.
- 1:36:01[SPEAKER_02]: So get ready for that.
- 1:36:03[SPEAKER_06]: I feel bad for the Louisiana fans, who will be escaping the Louisiana summer to come to Los Angeles, and they will find the most humid that Los Angeles has ever been in the history of time.
- 1:36:17[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:36:18[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:36:21[SPEAKER_06]: But at least the game's at eight.
- 1:36:22[SPEAKER_06]: I want to pull boy.
- 1:36:23[SPEAKER_06]: Like I know people want to complain about the game being at eight, but also like if the alternative is the game being at noon, we've already established that like this goes back to the time situation.
- 1:36:35[SPEAKER_02]: People will complain that it's eight o'clock.
- 1:36:36[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:36:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's too late.
- 1:36:37[SPEAKER_02]: I can't watch.
- 1:36:38[SPEAKER_02]: People complain that it's noon.
- 1:36:40[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, but it's hot.
- 1:36:40[SPEAKER_02]: It should be at night.
- 1:36:42[SPEAKER_02]: People complain about this time because oh, I've got to take my kids to the spot.
- 1:36:47[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing is going to be perfect for everybody.
- 1:36:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's every team and there's there's too many teams in in the country.
- 1:36:55[SPEAKER_02]: Someone's going to take up some time spot time slot and with it being so hot lately and in a clock game.
- 1:37:02[SPEAKER_06]: Well, the best possible.
- 1:37:04[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:37:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:37:05[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:37:07[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back.
- 1:37:09[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back Wednesday night.
- 1:37:10[SPEAKER_02]: Lamont says great show.
- 1:37:11[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I'm going to sleep at work again.
- 1:37:13[SPEAKER_02]: I guess so.
- 1:37:14[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate you.
- 1:37:16[SPEAKER_02]: Lamont in in Georgia.
- 1:37:18[SPEAKER_02]: Coming in.
- 1:37:19[SPEAKER_02]: I believe you guys are the best.
- 1:37:22[SPEAKER_02]: Until next time, we will see you.
- 1:37:25[SPEAKER_02]: See you.
- 1:37:26[SPEAKER_02]: See you.
