- 0:07Speaker 1: The Season with Peter Scheger is a production of the
- 0:09Speaker 1: NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio. What's Up? Everybody's this Peter Schreger.
- 0:25Speaker 1: This is the Season with Peter Schrager. We're recording this
- 0:27Speaker 1: on a Tuesday morning after Championship weekend, going into the
- 0:31Speaker 1: Super Bowl bye week. I'm with Aaron wan Kauffman. I'm
- 0:34Speaker 1: with Jason English, folks from the iHeart media team. I'm
- 0:39Speaker 1: always saddened this week. I know that sounds crazy. We'
- 0:42Speaker 1: supposed to hyped up. It saddened because I know once
- 0:46Speaker 1: the games end, Aaron, it's an abyss Now. I love
- 0:50Speaker 1: the draft, I love free agency, but like I love
- 0:53Speaker 1: the games. I love talking about the games. And boy
- 0:56Speaker 1: do I have some thoughts on the games that we
- 0:59Speaker 1: just watched. Before we turn the page and go to
- 1:01Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. Let me take you through my weekend.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Saturday afternoon, I take my son to the New York's
- 1:10Speaker 1: Knicks game. Okay, they play the Miami Heat. It's three
- 1:13Speaker 1: PM and I'm asking Mel, I'm like, do you want
- 1:16Speaker 1: to go to the AFC Championship game tomorrow in Baltimore.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You have to understand he loves the Ravens. He watched
- 1:22Speaker 1: the entire Texans Ravens game. He was a nervous wreck
- 1:25Speaker 1: the first half, like cried at one point through a
- 1:27Speaker 1: hissy fit at one point during the first half because
- 1:29Speaker 1: like what are the Ravens doing? And then when they
- 1:31Speaker 1: want I've never seen such joy in this child's eyes, Like,
- 1:34Speaker 1: do you want to go tomorrow? We're going to this
- 1:36Speaker 1: basketball game. Now you're enjoying this moment. You're at a
- 1:39Speaker 1: live sporting event. Do you want to go? Because we
- 1:40Speaker 1: will get on a train and we all stand in
- 1:44Speaker 1: the rain and it'll be a twelve hour day. But
- 1:47Speaker 1: I do think there's a significance to being a kid
- 1:52Speaker 1: and being at one of these amazing, amazing sporting events
- 1:55Speaker 1: like an AFC Championship game in person. And the fact
- 1:57Speaker 1: that the Baltimore Ravens have not hosted an AFC championsh
- 2:01Speaker 1: game since nineteen seventy was like swirling in my brain.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Mel's gonna be a Ravens fan. He is a Ravens fan,
- 2:07Speaker 1: his mom is a Ravens fan, his father in law
- 2:09Speaker 1: is a Ravens fan, his grandfather, my father in law,
- 2:13Speaker 1: his uncle, the whole thing. As I've mentioned on other podcasts,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and I think I mentioned here last year last week.
- 2:21Speaker 1: My father in law, David is hardcore Baltimore sports fan.
- 2:26Speaker 1: He was in every Ravens home game, I think until
- 2:29Speaker 1: recent years he's gone to every one of them. He
- 2:31Speaker 1: travels once a year to go to a road game
- 2:33Speaker 1: with my brother in law. They're hardcore. Every Baltimore super
- 2:38Speaker 1: Bowl ever he has been at. That includes the Miami
- 2:42Speaker 1: you know Joe Namath Guarantee super Bowl three. It includes
- 2:46Speaker 1: the win over the Colts, win over the Cowboys, it
- 2:50Speaker 1: includes Ravens Super Bowl victory over the Giants. It includes
- 2:57Speaker 1: Ravens Super Bowl victory over the forty nine ers in
- 3:01Speaker 1: New Orleans. He's been to all of them. So they're
- 3:03Speaker 1: Baltimore people. My son's gonna so I was like, I
- 3:06Speaker 1: think you should want to go. However, Aaron, he had
- 3:09Speaker 1: a youth basketball game the next morning. Oh. He loves
- 3:12Speaker 1: playing for those Gonzaga Bulldogs at the Brooklyn Basketball Academy.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Seven years old. He scored a basket last week. He's
- 3:19Speaker 1: feeling good. It is so rare that I am off
- 3:22Speaker 1: on the weekends, which I was because Fox didn't have
- 3:24Speaker 1: a pregame show in the early window that I could
- 3:27Speaker 1: actually attend one of his basketball games on the weekend.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I've never been able to do it. I went to
- 3:31Speaker 1: one a couple of weeks ago. It was amazing. These
- 3:33Speaker 1: games though last like thirty minutes. You know you're in
- 3:35Speaker 1: your out. The final score is like eight to six.
- 3:38Speaker 2: It's like a soccer match.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Mel loves his basketball team, loves his basketat So
- 3:44Speaker 1: it's this moment it's like, do you want to go
- 3:45Speaker 1: or do you not want to go? And he looked
- 3:47Speaker 1: at me and he's like, I don't know, And I'm like,
- 3:50Speaker 1: do I have to make this decision? My wife is like,
- 3:53Speaker 1: if it's raining, I think we pull the plug. If
- 3:57Speaker 1: it looks like it's clear skies, I kind of want
- 4:01Speaker 1: to go too. I kind of want to be there.
- 4:03Speaker 1: She's been to all these big games also. So at
- 4:07Speaker 1: seven am we woke up on Sunday morning, we check
- 4:10Speaker 1: the weather and it said the rain is passing through
- 4:13Speaker 1: Baltimore at around eleven am. By three pm, kickoff, no rain,
- 4:18Speaker 1: and off we went. We go to Penn Station. This
- 4:21Speaker 1: place is Hummin' Chiefs fans Ravens fans. New York City
- 4:26Speaker 1: has a good collection of both those fan bases. We
- 4:28Speaker 1: get on the train, Northeast Regional, going from the lovely
- 4:33Speaker 1: New York Penn Station New Monahan Hall. We're going down
- 4:36Speaker 1: there and we're going to Baltimore. Three hour ride. We're
- 4:39Speaker 1: sitting there. Everyone on the train is hype for football.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It's a football train. It was so cool. It's a
- 4:45Speaker 1: great way to prepare for a game. Hours in advance.
- 4:48Speaker 1: From nine am to noon, it's all just Ravens fans
- 4:51Speaker 1: and Flacco jerseys and Ogden jerseys and Sugs jerseys. We
- 4:55Speaker 1: get to the train station, a flood of just purple
- 4:58Speaker 1: and red, a lot of Chiefs fans, so much respect
- 5:00Speaker 1: for the Chiefs fans. They travel to this thing too.
- 5:03Speaker 1: We leave Penn Station. I call an uber to go
- 5:06Speaker 1: to the stadium because I want to get there early.
- 5:08Speaker 1: My wife's like, I don't need to be there for
- 5:09Speaker 1: three hours. We'll go separately. I'll go to my brother's place,
- 5:12Speaker 1: which is nearby. She takes an uber. I take an over.
- 5:16Speaker 1: We'll get in the uber. I get my solo uber.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'm dressed with, you know, big raincoat on just in case,
- 5:21Speaker 1: and I've got my phone, my portable phone charger because
- 5:24Speaker 1: i know I'm not going to be sitting by an outlet,
- 5:26Speaker 1: and it is traffic wall to wall from the train
- 5:29Speaker 1: station to the stadium. I say, get me out of
- 5:30Speaker 1: this uber. I walk about fifteen blocks. Ooh, and it's
- 5:34Speaker 1: not New York City blocks too, so Baltimore blocks. And
- 5:38Speaker 1: as you're walking, the anticipation is building build, and no
- 5:41Speaker 1: one recognizes me. At first, you know, five blocks, I'm
- 5:44Speaker 1: just a random guy walking. Then ten blocks, it's all
- 5:47Speaker 1: Ravens fans. It's all Chiefs fans. I get about, you know,
- 5:51Speaker 1: probably a half mile from the stadium, and suddenly it's
- 5:54Speaker 1: like Shreger, Schreger. I'm like, yes, okay, I love the recognition.
- 5:57Speaker 3: You picked against us.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Ravens fans respectful, but also not so thrilled that they
- 6:06Speaker 1: know my family is Baltimore. And I still picked the
- 6:09Speaker 1: Chiefs before this thing. And the walk was electric. I
- 6:12Speaker 1: was so hyped. We get to the stadium, I do
- 6:14Speaker 1: a round on the stadium, I walk a lap. Awesome experience.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I'm with Jason McCarty, the Ravens PR staff cool enough
- 6:22Speaker 1: to say, you know, well, credentially, if you want to
- 6:24Speaker 1: sit in the press box, come on in whatever. So
- 6:26Speaker 1: I get to go there beforehand, I see Jason McCarty,
- 6:28Speaker 1: who's doing the radio. I see Devin McCarty. We walk
- 6:30Speaker 1: U Coast on the field. Travis Kelsey's there. I'm talking
- 6:33Speaker 1: to Travis Kelsey before the game. He was dialed in.
- 6:35Speaker 1: You saw the thing with Justin Tucker, like he was
- 6:37Speaker 1: not there to do small talk. He was not there
- 6:39Speaker 1: for nonsense. Respectful as always, but like dialed in. I
- 6:42Speaker 1: see Mahomes give him a pound. He's dialed in. I
- 6:45Speaker 1: talked to some of the chiefs executives there, dialed in Ravenside.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Jack Harbaugh's there, Jim Harbaugh was there, John Harbaugh, you know,
- 6:56Speaker 1: dialed in. This felt like a Monsters game because it
- 7:01Speaker 1: was get to the seats. My son is a nervous wreck.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I could tell. I've never seen him like this. Like
- 7:09Speaker 1: he doesn't take tests, he doesn't have homework. Yet this
- 7:11Speaker 1: is where he's a nervous wreck. He's super you know,
- 7:14Speaker 1: in his own thoughts about whether this is gonna be
- 7:16Speaker 1: the day, and I'm like, just dude, no matter what,
- 7:18Speaker 1: you're here, you're gonna have a story. You got to
- 7:20Speaker 1: experience it, like just enjoy it. Out comes Michael Phelps, No,
- 7:25Speaker 1: mel this is a world champion, swimmer. Why is he here? Well,
- 7:29Speaker 1: he likes the Ravens, Yes, but why is a swimmer here? Yes,
- 7:32Speaker 1: he's from Baltimore. And he's like he's a big Ravens fan. Yes,
- 7:36Speaker 1: but is he swimming. No, he's not swimming. It's just
- 7:38Speaker 1: he likes the Ravens. So he's like, Okay. Ed Reid
- 7:42Speaker 1: comes out all right. That guy's one of the best
- 7:44Speaker 1: safeties to ever play, if not the best safety. Ravens
- 7:47Speaker 1: legend won a Super Bowl awesome. Ray Lewis comes out
- 7:50Speaker 1: dunt dun so hot, he comes out, does his whole
- 7:54Speaker 1: ray Lewis dance my son time to day. I'm like
- 7:57Speaker 1: two Super Bowls, probably the greatest player ever to wear
- 8:00Speaker 1: the Ravens uniform. To do the toss Chiefs staffer and
- 8:05Speaker 1: they're like, we're gonna get the Ravens ball. Place is
- 8:07Speaker 1: fired up, places nuts, Ravens come out three and out.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Chiefs come out rocking stadium, places going wild, fourth and two,
- 8:22Speaker 1: first down, third and four, first down, third and five,
- 8:26Speaker 1: first down, third and three, first down, And they do
- 8:30Speaker 1: this thing at that Ravens stadium where they where they like,
- 8:33Speaker 1: they go to the big speel like make some noise
- 8:36Speaker 1: every third down, or it's like third down, we need
- 8:39Speaker 1: the decibel meter higher fans, and you're like right, And
- 8:43Speaker 1: by the fourth or fifth one, I could see these
- 8:45Speaker 1: fans being like this, Mahomes is pretty good. Touchdown, Place
- 8:51Speaker 1: is dead. Ravens come back, say Flowers amazing. Touchdown seven
- 8:57Speaker 1: to seven, Place going bonkers. I look next week, my
- 8:59Speaker 1: son is in tears. Aaron. I'm like, Melt, this is
- 9:03Speaker 1: the what what he goes? I missed the fun everyone
- 9:07Speaker 1: was jumping up and down. I didn't get to see it. Oh,
- 9:09Speaker 1: it's like so heartbroken, and I'm like, looking at my wife,
- 9:12Speaker 1: I'm like we should have watched him the couch, like
- 9:14Speaker 1: this isn't worth it, Like he's not even excited for
- 9:16Speaker 1: like the good moment. So he was crying after they scored,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and then sure enough, the Chiefs are just dominant throughout
- 9:24Speaker 1: the first half. We go to halftime. This is why
- 9:27Speaker 1: my wife is my wife, and Erica is smart and
- 9:29Speaker 1: why we give her all the credit in the world.
- 9:33Speaker 1: We get to halftime, I take Melt to the bathroom
- 9:35Speaker 1: Forever Long Line. We're in a funk. He's in a funk.
- 9:38Speaker 1: He had just been crying. The Ravens are losing all
- 9:40Speaker 1: this stuff. This is before the day Flowers thing. My
- 9:42Speaker 1: wife disappears for about five minutes. I'm like, where'd she go?
- 9:45Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Whatever. We come back to the seat, simplest thing, some
- 9:49Speaker 1: cotton candy, smiling, sun is shining. Now, sun comes up,
- 9:54Speaker 1: rain goes away, Ravens are driving, say Flowers, big play,
- 9:58Speaker 1: taunting penalty. All right, that hurts, but let's go back.
- 10:00Speaker 1: They get another big play. Dave Flowers about to score,
- 10:03Speaker 1: punched the ball, loose fumble. That was the game. I
- 10:07Speaker 1: know it is this one score game. That was the game,
- 10:08Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh my god, the next six hours
- 10:10Speaker 1: are going to suck. I'll tell you this. That was
- 10:13Speaker 1: a good sport. He was a good sport. I said, look,
- 10:16Speaker 1: that's football. Just when you think it's your ear, just
- 10:18Speaker 1: when you put all this time and effort, that can happen.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Do you see what happened with Mommy's Michigan Wolverines, Because
- 10:23Speaker 1: my wife's a Michigan over Like, that's one side of it.
- 10:26Speaker 1: You can go all the way and you can win,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and it's the best dealing in the world and you
- 10:29Speaker 1: could be on cloud nine. But there's also this side
- 10:31Speaker 1: of it. Only one team can advance in every game
- 10:33Speaker 1: in the playoffs, and in this case, if not. The
- 10:35Speaker 1: Ravens took the train back. He thought it was so
- 10:38Speaker 1: cool that he was up late. We didn't get back
- 10:39Speaker 1: until like eleven o'clock. We watched the entire NFC Championship
- 10:42Speaker 1: game on my phone on NFL Plus. He was into it.
- 10:45Speaker 1: He got to stay up late, woke up Monday morning,
- 10:47Speaker 1: was in the best moody at a great weekend. He
- 10:49Speaker 1: got to go to the game. But some parenting stuff
- 10:52Speaker 1: right there. It was touch and go for a moment.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But sometimes a simple bribery or simple pleasure of cotton
- 10:58Speaker 1: candy can do the trick.
- 11:00Speaker 2: You don't want to be watching your team lose and
- 11:02Speaker 2: be hungry. I mean, if you can get something, you
- 11:04Speaker 2: know that.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I think that's a not only hungry like the forbidden fruit. Yes, kids, Yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 1: this kid don't eat much cotton candy.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not gonna be at home on the couchwashing
- 11:13Speaker 2: the game getting cotton candy, I would assume.
- 11:16Speaker 1: So I might takeaways from that game, I've been saying
- 11:19Speaker 1: him on Good Morning Football. The defense was so good
- 11:21Speaker 1: and if anything, we take for granted what Steve Spagnolo's
- 11:23Speaker 1: defense has done. What I read is they ran six
- 11:25Speaker 1: different defensive schemes and they rotated those defensive schemes. Lamar
- 11:29Speaker 1: could not solve it. Todd Munkin abandoned the run game.
- 11:32Speaker 1: There was only six times in the game that are
- 11:34Speaker 1: running back carried the ball. The first time Gus Edwards
- 11:36Speaker 1: went for fifteen yards and they just like abandon it.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Dalvin Cooke didn't get a touch. He looked pretty good
- 11:41Speaker 1: in his couple of opportunities last week, and Lamar didn't
- 11:43Speaker 1: look like Lamar. So the Ravens go back to the
- 11:45Speaker 1: drawing board and for the Chiefs they go on and
- 11:49Speaker 1: obviously it's Mahomes and Kelsey and Kelsey had eleven catches
- 11:54Speaker 1: on eleven targets. That's insane. He also touched the ball
- 11:56Speaker 1: and a different like a different play, like just amazing.
- 11:58Speaker 1: But the defense is really really good and that defense
- 12:03Speaker 1: is what rose above. So to me, they look like
- 12:07Speaker 1: just one of those old battled war horses that like
- 12:10Speaker 1: you cannot put down. Those last two wins in Buffalo
- 12:13Speaker 1: and in Kansas City, said on Good Morning Football, Rudy
- 12:16Speaker 1: Tom Johonovitch has a great quote, never underestimate the heart
- 12:20Speaker 1: of a champion. I ain't underestimating the heart of these champions.
- 12:25Speaker 1: You know who I have winning. I got the Chiefs
- 12:26Speaker 1: winning the Super Bowl. We'll talk about it all next
- 12:28Speaker 1: week they play the Niners, which had a cool story
- 12:30Speaker 1: in itself. Which team do you think had a tougher
- 12:33Speaker 1: pull to swallow on Monday morning? Aaron? Do you think
- 12:36Speaker 1: the Lions fan who is up seventeen points and has
- 12:39Speaker 1: multiple opportunities to make it a three score game and
- 12:41Speaker 1: ops to go for it on fourth down and then
- 12:43Speaker 1: to seize the slip in between their hands? Or do
- 12:45Speaker 1: you think it's the Ravens fan that just feels like
- 12:47Speaker 1: that was such an anomaly compared to the rest of
- 12:49Speaker 1: the season.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I think a Lions fan, I think the pain of
- 12:54Speaker 2: knowing you were in the lead and for the first half,
- 12:59Speaker 2: I mean, it looked like a one sided game. It was,
- 13:02Speaker 2: you know, it was a completely different thing. Whereas the
- 13:05Speaker 2: Ravens fan, you were catched up the whole time. Even
- 13:08Speaker 2: that on the Zay Flowers touchdown, that was like not
- 13:11Speaker 2: a Hail Mary, but that was a miracle play that
- 13:13Speaker 2: that worked. And there was never a point when I
- 13:15Speaker 2: felt like the Ravens were in control, whereas with the Lions,
- 13:19Speaker 2: I thought I thought that was over. I was like,
- 13:21Speaker 2: what happened to San Francisco? And then here they came back.
- 13:24Speaker 2: So the Lions feel like they lost it from within
- 13:26Speaker 2: their grasp and the Ravens just they had a bad day.
- 13:30Speaker 1: A couple thoughts on that this was an interesting moment
- 13:33Speaker 1: in time where like for years on parallel paths, the
- 13:36Speaker 1: PFF guys and the numbers guys and the Twitter people
- 13:40Speaker 1: who always hearn such who advocate for fourth down being
- 13:44Speaker 1: aggressive and here's how it's done, have been working. And
- 13:47Speaker 1: then on the other half has been a silent majority.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I think of traditional football fans who understand that the
- 13:53Speaker 1: analytics and the numbers have a major role in the
- 13:55Speaker 1: game right now, and it has helped the game for
- 13:57Speaker 1: the better and has helped coaches manage situations in different ways,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and they've traditionally done but they've been quiet, biting their tongues.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I think this was impossible to watch as a traditional fan,
- 14:05Speaker 1: knowing that a three score lead is so hard to
- 14:08Speaker 1: come back from, but if you give them an opportunity
- 14:11Speaker 1: to keep on opening the door, they will. In this case,
- 14:14Speaker 1: I think the thing that's missing in a lot of
- 14:16Speaker 1: these analytics, and I don't want to take on the
- 14:17Speaker 1: analytics community, and I don't even call it analytics. I
- 14:19Speaker 1: want to call it probability. In this case, I think
- 14:21Speaker 1: one of the things that's missing is the nuance of
- 14:24Speaker 1: situations such as the fact that, oh, I don't know,
- 14:27Speaker 1: it's in San Francisco and that crowd as much as
- 14:30Speaker 1: Honolulu Blue as you saw that crowd like was completely
- 14:33Speaker 1: given a second life and then a third life and
- 14:35Speaker 1: then a fourth life and was in a absolute tizzy
- 14:38Speaker 1: after the seventeen point comeback. We saw the journey performance
- 14:42Speaker 1: and then like coming out of commercial, you know, Olsen
- 14:45Speaker 1: and Burkhart just laid out and they were so beautifully
- 14:47Speaker 1: attuned to it. They're like, let's not let's not talk,
- 14:50Speaker 1: Let's just let the crowd noise take the story, Like
- 14:52Speaker 1: that's a big deal. I also think the know with
- 14:55Speaker 1: the no haul and like the wherewithal of like, hey,
- 14:59Speaker 1: these Niners have been in some huge games over the years,
- 15:01Speaker 1: like don't don't let them hang around, and even last
- 15:04Speaker 1: week against the Packers like don't let them hang around.
- 15:06Speaker 1: That makes two straight weeks of Kyle Shanahan, who notoriously
- 15:10Speaker 1: is known for giving up major leads. In the fourth
- 15:13Speaker 1: quarter of the Super Bowl, of course twenty eight to three,
- 15:15Speaker 1: but also in a Super Bowl to the Chiefs, they
- 15:17Speaker 1: were up ten in the fourth quarter. In the NFC
- 15:19Speaker 1: Championship game to the Rams, they were up ten in
- 15:21Speaker 1: the fourth quarter. Here we go back to back weeks
- 15:24Speaker 1: after Fox shows of graphics saying Kyle Shanahan's oh to
- 15:26Speaker 1: thirty in the fourth quarter when down five points or more,
- 15:29Speaker 1: they come back and beat the Packers and in this case,
- 15:31Speaker 1: come back from a seventeen point deficit at halftime to
- 15:35Speaker 1: beat a very good Lions team, and the Lions go
- 15:39Speaker 1: back to the drawing board. But I think the analytics
- 15:41Speaker 1: community has been kind of feeling itself a little bit.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Every team has an analytics department, and I think some
- 15:47Speaker 1: of the old school football guys roll their eyes and
- 15:49Speaker 1: want of stuff that talk into a locker, but they
- 15:51Speaker 1: go along with it. What's the conundrum here is that
- 15:54Speaker 1: Dan Campbell is this old school of football guy as
- 15:56Speaker 1: there is, and he leaned into the analytics so much
- 15:59Speaker 1: I don't even call it analytics. I mentioned that because
- 16:01Speaker 1: like Sean Payton did this, Bill Parcells did this, Bill
- 16:05Speaker 1: Belichick does this. It's not numbers in the sense that
- 16:09Speaker 1: it's math wizards. It's there's football guys and football men
- 16:13Speaker 1: who do it. Also, it's just a different way than
- 16:14Speaker 1: the traditional Hey, punt the ball away and trust your defense.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I do feel Lions fans this week though, if they're hurting,
- 16:21Speaker 1: because as much as we could break down the new,
- 16:25Speaker 1: the truth of the matter is intricacies and nuances and
- 16:28Speaker 1: drops by Josh Reynolds and drops by Aman Ross, Saint
- 16:31Speaker 1: Brown and whatever else. Yeah, it's just we're not going
- 16:36Speaker 1: to Super Bowl and it ends and it's over. So
- 16:39Speaker 1: it all came together and we could do percentage points
- 16:42Speaker 1: all we want. But I say this was sadness for
- 16:44Speaker 1: Lions fans. But the Niners advance, So it's Chiefs Niners.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Real quick. On some coaching stuff. As we're recording this,
- 16:51Speaker 1: all but two jobs are filled. I think we're gonna
- 16:53Speaker 1: fill Seattle and Washington over the next few days. Three
- 16:58Speaker 1: names to watch Ben Johnson, Mike McDonald, and then Aaron Glenn,
- 17:04Speaker 1: defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions. I think his name
- 17:09Speaker 1: is being batted around quite a bit. And then of
- 17:11Speaker 1: course Dan Quinn, who felt like he was the clubhouse
- 17:14Speaker 1: leader all along for Seattle, but that hasn't happened yet,
- 17:19Speaker 1: which leads me to think they want to still meet
- 17:20Speaker 1: with some other guys. One note on Quinn, I don't
- 17:23Speaker 1: know the numbers. We've had him on the podcast. Everyone
- 17:26Speaker 1: was surprised that he took his name out of all
- 17:27Speaker 1: the runnings last year. Like, dan Quinn makes a lot
- 17:29Speaker 1: of money to be the Cowboys defensive coordinator. He's got
- 17:31Speaker 1: a really good gig down there. He's really really well respected,
- 17:35Speaker 1: and his defense continues to perform. The thought with Quinn
- 17:39Speaker 1: if he doesn't take Seattle, or he isn't offered Seattle,
- 17:41Speaker 1: it's like, all right, Mike McCarthy has one more year.
- 17:44Speaker 1: If that doesn't work, is it dan Quin's turn. I
- 17:46Speaker 1: just know he's well compensated. He's got a lot of money.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Money's not going to be the factor for dan Quinn.
- 17:51Speaker 1: He was the coach of the Falcons for many years,
- 17:52Speaker 1: made multiple contracts, and he has as highly paid as
- 17:55Speaker 1: any coordinator in the league. So Seattle might feel like
- 17:58Speaker 1: call him. It might be right, he might really want that.
- 17:59Speaker 1: If he doesn't get it, that's it's a bit of
- 18:02Speaker 1: a surprise. But I think as the days go by
- 18:04Speaker 1: it's less and less dan Quinn's job based on the
- 18:06Speaker 1: fact that, oh, I don't know, they could have hired
- 18:08Speaker 1: him already. As I say that, he could be hired
- 18:11Speaker 1: by noon, and we'll go from there. As you're listening
- 18:13Speaker 1: to this offensive coordinator stuff around the league, a couple
- 18:16Speaker 1: of things that keep an eye eye out on. You
- 18:19Speaker 1: saw Kellen Moore got the Eagles one that's a big deal.
- 18:21Speaker 1: You saw your former offensive coordinator in Buffalo, Aaron ken
- 18:24Speaker 1: Dorsey got the Buffalo, got the Cleveland job. Two spots
- 18:28Speaker 1: that are interesting. New England's is interesting. Does Nick Kyley,
- 18:31Speaker 1: who was the tight ends coach of the Rams, take
- 18:34Speaker 1: that job? That sounds like a possibility. Tennessee is fascinating.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Brian Callahan is the offensive coordinator. There's a guy named
- 18:42Speaker 1: Nick Holes who I've known for quite some time, who
- 18:45Speaker 1: coach with the Raiders for years, but also coach with
- 18:48Speaker 1: the Jaguars the past year with Trevor Lawrence. Really hot
- 18:52Speaker 1: name Nick. And now you're gonna say it's, well, it's
- 18:54Speaker 1: just cronyism, but he actually went to high school with
- 18:57Speaker 1: Brian Callahan. Those guys know each other very well, have
- 19:00Speaker 1: not coached together in many years, but they knew each
- 19:02Speaker 1: other very well, and then I believe overlapped in Oakland
- 19:04Speaker 1: when they were together working with Derek car I think
- 19:08Speaker 1: he's a name, Eric Studsville another name to mention for
- 19:10Speaker 1: that position. And then Vegas, which right now no offensive coordinator,
- 19:16Speaker 1: no quarterback. I can't imagine Jimmy's gonna be the guy.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I don't know if you say Aidan O'Connell is like
- 19:20Speaker 1: that feels like Sam Howell to me, like you might
- 19:22Speaker 1: want to. But they had the thirteenth pick. That's the
- 19:25Speaker 1: one that I think makes sense for Cliff Kingsbury if
- 19:28Speaker 1: it goes that way. I've actually spoken to Cliff after
- 19:31Speaker 1: his Eagles interview. He thought that went pretty well. It
- 19:33Speaker 1: wasn't sure it was the right fit. They went with
- 19:35Speaker 1: Kellen Moore. I think that was kind of a mutual
- 19:37Speaker 1: deal where whatever it was, that wasn't going to be
- 19:40Speaker 1: the place for Cliff this time around. But there's only
- 19:43Speaker 1: so many seats on the carousel with these offensive coordinator jobs,
- 19:45Speaker 1: they are being filled up offully quickly. I look to Vegas.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I think that would be a good fit if Cliff
- 19:50Speaker 1: can bring his guys with him and they kind of
- 19:52Speaker 1: work with Antonio Pierce, who's the defensive guy who has
- 19:55Speaker 1: not been an NFL head coach. Maybe Cliff can be
- 19:57Speaker 1: kind of that shoulder to lean on. So that's some
- 19:59Speaker 1: thoughts on the coaching stuff. We'll find out more this week.
- 20:02Speaker 1: I think those all those spots would likely be filled
- 20:04Speaker 1: in the next couple of days, but we do have
- 20:07Speaker 1: to turn the page to Super Bowl, which is not
- 20:09Speaker 1: this weekend but the following one. And for our guests,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I wanted to bring in somebody interesting who might have
- 20:14Speaker 1: a sports business slant to this. And they're saying this
- 20:18Speaker 1: is the hardest ticket, most expensive ticket super Bowl history.
- 20:21Speaker 1: So I brought on someone who knows that world very well.
- 20:23Speaker 1: His name is Brian Baslow. I'll explain who he is
- 20:26Speaker 1: and we'll get him on after this, all right, For
- 20:36Speaker 1: this week's guest, I wanted to bring on someone who
- 20:38Speaker 1: is in the sports business world and the business of
- 20:40Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. I thought it was really interesting. We've
- 20:42Speaker 1: done coaches, we've done gms, we've done owners, we've done
- 20:46Speaker 1: celebrity fans, we've done the gamut here, but we haven't
- 20:49Speaker 1: had someone who's got this vantage point on the Super Bowl.
- 20:53Speaker 1: And I wanted to bring in Brian Baslow. Brian is
- 20:56Speaker 1: the CEO of Concierge Live, which is a ticketing company.
- 21:00Speaker 1: We'll get into the business of it, but before this,
- 21:02Speaker 1: Brian was the EVP of ticketing at the Brooklyn Nets.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Ryan's got a real grasp on ticket sales, ticket trends
- 21:10Speaker 1: and all of that. And Brian, I wanted to welcome
- 21:12Speaker 1: you on the season with Peter Schreger. What's up, buddy, Peter.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Thanks for having me man, I appreciate it.
- 21:16Speaker 1: It's gonna be fun, no doubt. So as this thing
- 21:19Speaker 1: was shaking out, I'm watching the AFC Championship game in person,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and I'm like, all right, so Chiefs are going, which
- 21:26Speaker 1: is probably more glamorous for the Super Bowl then Baltimore.
- 21:33Speaker 1: But then you had Lamar, and I'm doing the storylines
- 21:35Speaker 1: on my head and I'm like, I personally love the
- 21:36Speaker 1: Lamar storyline, but I guess there's other things with the Chiefs,
- 21:39Speaker 1: with dynasty and Taylor Swift and all that. And then
- 21:42Speaker 1: when I see the Niners whin, I'm like, yeah, but
- 21:45Speaker 1: Detroit's the better story because of Detroit not going, So
- 21:49Speaker 1: I would imagine those tickets would flow the market, but
- 21:51Speaker 1: it's a West coast trip, so it's easy. You could
- 21:53Speaker 1: do it in a day. So I'm gonna go to
- 21:55Speaker 1: you who knows ticketing inside and out and has devoted
- 21:58Speaker 1: a career to it. I saw a headline saying it's
- 22:00Speaker 1: the most expensive, hardest to get ticket in Super Bowl history.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Take it away, Brian, explain why and how it shook
- 22:07Speaker 1: out that way.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Peter, that's a great lead, and this game is
- 22:11Speaker 3: an absolute monster. I mean, simply put, it is the
- 22:14Speaker 3: most expensive ticket in the history of the Super Bowl
- 22:18Speaker 3: so far. And I'm just doing I was doing those
- 22:20Speaker 3: same machinations as you sort of what's going to drive
- 22:22Speaker 3: the super Bowl. You'd think with Kansas City there be
- 22:25Speaker 3: a little bit of a been there, done that fast. Sure,
- 22:28Speaker 3: been there four times in the last five years. But no, man,
- 22:30Speaker 3: I mean, there's a confluence of factors. But simply put,
- 22:33Speaker 3: it's the most expensive ticket the gain in ticket, Peter,
- 22:36Speaker 3: the least expensive ticket on the first day of sales
- 22:39Speaker 3: was nine thousand dollars, nine thousand dollars to get in
- 22:43Speaker 3: the game. I mean the average price right now even
- 22:46Speaker 3: is around twelve thousand dollars. And there are a couple
- 22:48Speaker 3: I mean, there are a couple of tickets in excess
- 22:50Speaker 3: of fifty thousand dollars per ticket.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Okay, and you think that's all right, Let's start with
- 22:55Speaker 1: the Taylor Swift factor. Is that the casual fan saying, look,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I want to go anyway, it's a cheat and if
- 23:02Speaker 1: I'm ever going to go, it's the year Taylor Swift?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Or is it the Hey, this Chief thing might be
- 23:06Speaker 1: might be ending, and this might be the last time,
- 23:09Speaker 1: and I want to be there when Mahomes gets his
- 23:10Speaker 1: third and we win second straight. Like, if you're weighing
- 23:13Speaker 1: out the factors, is it Mahomes and Kelsey and that
- 23:16Speaker 1: or is it Taylor Swift is in the building and
- 23:17Speaker 1: it's kind of cool to be there. It's gonna be
- 23:18Speaker 1: an event that everyone's gonna be watching.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, Peter, this Taylor Swift effect is real, man.
- 23:24Speaker 3: I mean we've seen it through the regular season and
- 23:27Speaker 3: the beginning parts of the playoffs. Tickets are typically probably
- 23:30Speaker 3: twenty to fifty percent more expensive just because she's gonna
- 23:33Speaker 3: be in the building. I mean, she's not a good performance,
- 23:35Speaker 3: she's just there. And I think that is the differentiating
- 23:38Speaker 3: factor on the Chief side. One of the biggest driving
- 23:40Speaker 3: factors also is just like San Francisco. That Niner team
- 23:44Speaker 3: is huge there. Following is amazing. Probably twenty six percent
- 23:48Speaker 3: of the tickets that are sold right now have been
- 23:50Speaker 3: from San Francisco. And you see it. You see it
- 23:52Speaker 3: when you're on the road anytime San Francisco is traveling.
- 23:57Speaker 3: I mean there's a sea of red. That team travels
- 23:59Speaker 3: as well as anybody.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Well, it's also a national fan base, I think in
- 24:03Speaker 1: the eighties where a lot of these fans that have
- 24:05Speaker 1: now the money to go buy tickets and travel to
- 24:07Speaker 1: Super Bowls. They were born and they grew up with
- 24:10Speaker 1: Montana and young. So now that generation's in their thirties
- 24:13Speaker 1: and forties and then oh yeah, in between, you've had
- 24:16Speaker 1: some great runs with Alex Smith and Harbaugh, some great
- 24:18Speaker 1: run with Kaepernick, and then these last five years have
- 24:20Speaker 1: been just success. So to finally see those Niners hoist
- 24:23Speaker 1: of Lombardi first time, I think in twenty nine years
- 24:26Speaker 1: it'll be or twenty three years, I think that matters.
- 24:29Speaker 1: But you're right, Niners fans they do that. You know,
- 24:32Speaker 1: bang bang Niner gang. They are everywhere in Philly. Last
- 24:35Speaker 1: year at NFCY Championship, there was a sea of red
- 24:37Speaker 1: and that's Philly fans who do not sell their tickets
- 24:39Speaker 1: to opposing.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Fans exactly exactly. Also, most of those fans that were
- 24:43Speaker 3: in the eighties that grew up with Montana, many of
- 24:45Speaker 3: them have started tech companies, so they drive the price
- 24:47Speaker 3: up as well. So but yeah, man, it's huge.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Is that? Is that? Another thing? It's like, who's spending
- 24:53Speaker 1: nine thousand dollars for just a general admission, like a
- 24:56Speaker 1: regular ticket in a stadium, other than someone who's got
- 24:58Speaker 1: the money to spend it.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean the other thing, Peter, that we haven't
- 25:01Speaker 3: talked about is the Vegas factor. Man. It is a
- 25:05Speaker 3: it is a real factor. So the Raiders and you'll
- 25:07Speaker 3: enjoy this. I mean the Raiders. Just in the regular season,
- 25:10Speaker 3: the average ticket price for a Raiders game is a
- 25:14Speaker 3: little over one thousand dollars. That's one hundred and fifty
- 25:16Speaker 3: percent more than the average ticket in the NFL. And
- 25:19Speaker 3: I don't think it was because of the Raiders, like
- 25:21Speaker 3: hot you know, play on the field. It is you know,
- 25:25Speaker 3: particularly road teams. Those fans love to travel to Vegas
- 25:28Speaker 3: to see their team play. Now both teams, you know,
- 25:30Speaker 3: and now you have both markets going to and then
- 25:34Speaker 3: as you know, you know, the super Bowl's never been
- 25:35Speaker 3: in Vegas. I can't even frankly like fathom the idea
- 25:40Speaker 3: of Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas kind of breaks
- 25:45Speaker 3: my brain thinking about like what it's going to be,
- 25:47Speaker 3: Like it will probably be good for your sponsor betterhelp,
- 25:49Speaker 3: Like I like, it's it's gonna be a big weekend.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Yeah, so the TV ratings will be through the roof.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be you know, Mega maybe the
- 25:57Speaker 1: highest traded ever. And again the swift thing is real.
- 26:01Speaker 1: But also these are the two probably the best teams
- 26:03Speaker 1: of the last five years, if you want to say it,
- 26:05Speaker 1: like who gets the furthest in the playoffs? Niners have
- 26:08Speaker 1: lost multiple NFC you know, playoff games in recent years,
- 26:12Speaker 1: but of course have been to the super Bowl and
- 26:13Speaker 1: want to redeem themselves buying a super Bowl ticket Like
- 26:17Speaker 1: it sounds so naive from me, and it sounds like
- 26:20Speaker 1: an arrogant media guy who would never have to, you know,
- 26:22Speaker 1: go in these waters because I'm there with the credential.
- 26:24Speaker 1: But like, if I wanted to buy a ticket, like,
- 26:26Speaker 1: how is that done? To the Super Bowl?
- 26:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, listen, the only sort of official way
- 26:32Speaker 3: is a company called On Location Experiences. I used to
- 26:35Speaker 3: work there. It's a portfolio company of the NFL and
- 26:37Speaker 3: then partnership and the owners and endeavor. So that's the
- 26:40Speaker 3: official way. And then listen, there are lots of different
- 26:44Speaker 3: you know, sort of secondary markets that that where people
- 26:47Speaker 3: can source tickets, and you know, there's lots of different ways,
- 26:50Speaker 3: but the main sort of official way is that company
- 26:52Speaker 3: on Location Experiences.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Okay, now, your company, Concierge Live, you're not a ticket broker,
- 26:57Speaker 1: you are a ticket provider for I love your your
- 27:01Speaker 1: concept here because we've talked about it. Can you tell
- 27:04Speaker 1: the listeners what your company does and how you know,
- 27:07Speaker 1: how you look at that market from a strategic of
- 27:10Speaker 1: vantage point, but also looking at it from almost like
- 27:12Speaker 1: a mathematical way.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you so much for asking. So, like our
- 27:16Speaker 3: core business, we are a software for sports sponsors to
- 27:20Speaker 3: manage their tickets. We're like a CRM system for sponsors
- 27:23Speaker 3: to manage their tickets. That is our core business. But
- 27:26Speaker 3: our clients also say, hey, listen, it's not in our
- 27:29Speaker 3: regular tickets, but we're looking to go to the Super Bowl.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Can you help us source these tickets? So that's where
- 27:34Speaker 3: sort of the interest and keeping an eye on these
- 27:35Speaker 3: things comes from Yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 1: So give an example. Say you're you know, you have
- 27:39Speaker 1: a client and it's like, let's just say it's Morgan
- 27:41Speaker 1: Stanley or Goldman Sachs and they come to your company
- 27:44Speaker 1: and they say, we want to go forget the Super Bowl,
- 27:47Speaker 1: we want to go to to Nix versus Heat. Where
- 27:52Speaker 1: do you go from there?
- 27:53Speaker 3: So they say, we want to go to Knicks versus Heat,
- 27:56Speaker 3: and we we ask them different questions as far as
- 27:58Speaker 3: like where they want to sit, who they're taking, what
- 28:00Speaker 3: part of the produce. It's not just the ticket all
- 28:02Speaker 3: the time. Sometimes they need sort of a whole run
- 28:04Speaker 3: of show. So we'll we'll take that information, we'll go
- 28:07Speaker 3: source the tickets, we'll give them prices, and then we
- 28:11Speaker 3: can actually just shepherd them the entire time.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, So do you feel like this this crowd
- 28:16Speaker 1: is gonna be a mix of mostly corporate or do
- 28:17Speaker 1: you think this is the Chiefs fans. They're like, we're
- 28:22Speaker 1: coming and the Niners fans are coming. I said it
- 28:25Speaker 1: last week walking around the AFC Championship game. I'm like,
- 28:27Speaker 1: I love the Super Bowl and it is awesome in
- 28:30Speaker 1: the building and it is one of my favorite things
- 28:31Speaker 1: to be at, especially in the opening kickoff and the
- 28:33Speaker 1: lights go out. I'm like, put this element of looking
- 28:35Speaker 1: into the crowd and seeing a sea of purple and
- 28:37Speaker 1: a sea of red, and knowing every single person that's
- 28:40Speaker 1: here is here because they freaking love their team. It's
- 28:43Speaker 1: a little different than the super Bowl, which is still
- 28:44Speaker 1: amazing in its own way, and it's the biggest stage.
- 28:47Speaker 1: What do you anticipate because these two fan bases are
- 28:49Speaker 1: very good.
- 28:51Speaker 3: It's a new listen. That's a great question. And I
- 28:53Speaker 3: think historically and the super Bowl has gotten a little
- 28:55Speaker 3: bit of a bad rap of being a corporate scene
- 28:57Speaker 3: I have personally seen, and I don't know if you agree, Peter.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I think the last couple of years, fans have really
- 29:02Speaker 3: stepped up totally and it's been more fan engaged. Being
- 29:05Speaker 3: in the building has a much better energy than it
- 29:07Speaker 3: had maybe five or ten years ago. I think these
- 29:10Speaker 3: teams are gonna show out. I think it's gonna show
- 29:11Speaker 3: up in a big way. I also think because it's
- 29:13Speaker 3: a rematch, because both these teams are probably the best
- 29:17Speaker 3: two teams in the league as predicted by you a
- 29:21Speaker 3: year in advance, which is also incredible. I think it's
- 29:24Speaker 3: gonna I think it's gonna be a fan based thing,
- 29:27Speaker 3: and I think it's gonna be a really exciting crowd.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I do too. I think the Bengals Rams one
- 29:33Speaker 1: was interesting because it was in Los Angeles, so I
- 29:35Speaker 1: assumed would be all Rams fans. That place was flooded
- 29:37Speaker 1: with orange and black and white, and like Bengals fans
- 29:40Speaker 1: knew we hadn't been to the super Bowl since nineteen
- 29:44Speaker 1: eighty nine, like we're coming. This one's a little different,
- 29:47Speaker 1: and yet I feel like both fan bases will show out.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Do you have any idea where Swift will be seated
- 29:51Speaker 1: in that Las Vegas super Bowl?
- 29:54Speaker 3: That one?
- 29:54Speaker 1: Not yet?
- 29:55Speaker 3: I mean, I'm likely she'll be in a sweet but
- 29:56Speaker 3: I'd be happy to sort of follow up with you
- 29:58Speaker 3: on that one. How does any other.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Yeah, how does that even work? Like? Does she does? CBS?
- 30:04Speaker 1: Like do they take care of that and say we
- 30:05Speaker 1: want the best vantage point for when our cameras come
- 30:08Speaker 1: or is it Travis Kelcey suite? Like I think it's
- 30:11Speaker 1: interesting tell them about because this is the story I
- 30:13Speaker 1: heard that the super Bowl is in Los Angeles and
- 30:16Speaker 1: like all year long, whether it be Kelly Stafford and
- 30:20Speaker 1: Matthew Safford like some people or maybe the coaches, maybe McVeigh.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I forget what it was. Those guys in their contracts
- 30:26Speaker 1: have suites for games, but then once the Super Bowl happens,
- 30:31Speaker 1: that goes to the league, like because I think it
- 30:33Speaker 1: was interesting, Like it became a different conversation. Nothing bad.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I think Kelly Safford was it was very happy to
- 30:38Speaker 1: be celebrating Super Bowl in a suite. It wasn't an issue.
- 30:40Speaker 1: But I think that was a unique one in the
- 30:43Speaker 1: Tampa one was because those were in their buildings. But
- 30:46Speaker 1: who owns the suites? Because is it the Raiders handle
- 30:49Speaker 1: it or the league handles it.
- 30:50Speaker 3: It's a great question. At the top of the pyramid,
- 30:52Speaker 3: it's the league, so the league will be working all
- 30:55Speaker 3: that out. Also, I'm the Taylor Swift macker. Have you
- 30:58Speaker 3: been following this? By the way, the internet is like
- 31:00Speaker 3: trying to solve the mystery of how to get Taylor
- 31:03Speaker 3: to the game. She has a show in Japan the beforehand,
- 31:07Speaker 3: she has a show right after in Australia. The internet
- 31:11Speaker 3: is trying to solve the mystery of how to get
- 31:13Speaker 3: her there. There's a one hundred hour.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Yeah, solving for you a massive private jet. That's how
- 31:19Speaker 1: there's the internet mystery. Now, in all seriousness, I was
- 31:22Speaker 1: on Simmons and I was like, do you think she'll
- 31:23Speaker 1: be there? He's like yes. Then I asked my co host,
- 31:26Speaker 1: Aaron wan Kaufman. Months ago, we talked about this and
- 31:29Speaker 1: we kind of came out not realizing the show was
- 31:32Speaker 1: the night before. I thought it was the night of
- 31:34Speaker 1: that she had a show. It sounds like she's got
- 31:36Speaker 1: four nights in a row and the last night ends,
- 31:38Speaker 1: and then the super Bowl is after that and then
- 31:41Speaker 1: it's Australia that she can make it all work. But
- 31:44Speaker 1: if it was the same day, you know, you work
- 31:47Speaker 1: in ticketing, what kind of disaster would that be for
- 31:50Speaker 1: Taylor Swift if she just canceled a show in Japan?
- 31:53Speaker 3: She can't do that, right, Listen, We're in uncharted waters
- 31:57Speaker 3: at this point. But I think at this point Taylor
- 32:00Speaker 3: Swift can do sort of whatever whatever she wants to do.
- 32:03Speaker 3: And I'm feeling, come hell or high water, she'd be
- 32:05Speaker 3: at the.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Game and get up here on the mic, because I
- 32:07Speaker 1: think we had we had the debate and we said
- 32:10Speaker 1: what she could do is if she was to cancel,
- 32:12Speaker 1: it's all, what if sounds like she's going to be there.
- 32:14Speaker 1: If she canceled, she can give back like two nights
- 32:19Speaker 1: and have two more nights later on for all the
- 32:21Speaker 1: people who she canceled on. Does that sound like a
- 32:23Speaker 1: nice compromise in the ticketing world.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think if she rescheduled that show
- 32:29Speaker 2: and added an additional date, more people get to see her.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I think fans would be in general very happy with that.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Brian, your thoughts.
- 32:37Speaker 3: You're offering a two for one tailor. Hey, sorry, mister,
- 32:39Speaker 3: now you can go to two shows.
- 32:41Speaker 1: That's a nice compensation, right, That's kind of nice.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Man. I like what you're doing here is the hell
- 32:46Speaker 3: of a business plan.
- 32:47Speaker 1: That's what That's what I would do, all right? So
- 32:49Speaker 1: super Bowl big picture, because you do all sporting events,
- 32:53Speaker 1: is that the hardest ticket to get in sports? Or
- 32:55Speaker 1: am I often it's like some random tennis match or something.
- 32:59Speaker 3: No, you're hunter, right, So super Bowl typically has been
- 33:02Speaker 3: the most expensive by a factor of a lot. The
- 33:03Speaker 3: one thing kind of creeping up on it has been
- 33:05Speaker 3: F one. F one has been like a craze in America.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Two years ago. The one in Miami just just really
- 33:12Speaker 3: set some records but super Bowl is in a category
- 33:15Speaker 3: it's all the.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Time, and that's always been the case, and since you've
- 33:18Speaker 1: been doing this professionally, or is it like is that
- 33:20Speaker 1: the last decade where super Bowl just took on a
- 33:22Speaker 1: different demand to be there.
- 33:24Speaker 3: It's it's always been the case, but the different like
- 33:28Speaker 3: the factor at which it's the highest, and just sort
- 33:31Speaker 3: of the professionalization of on both sides of it, the
- 33:34Speaker 3: supply side and the demand side. Super Bowl is the biggest,
- 33:37Speaker 3: but it gets more and more and more expensive and
- 33:39Speaker 3: the market gets more more efficient every single year, even
- 33:43Speaker 3: last year. I thought so last year with Philly cuming
- 33:46Speaker 3: that's a huge market, again, very wealthy market, a much
- 33:48Speaker 3: bigger city than San Francisco. That was a monster game.
- 33:52Speaker 3: And this is Peter, this is double double the initial.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Pres I think you hit it with the location. I
- 33:58Speaker 1: think Vegas brings a different glamor and glitz and excitement
- 34:01Speaker 1: level than perhaps Arizona, which has had many Super Bowls
- 34:04Speaker 1: and is a bit sleepy. If you will, if you're like, oh,
- 34:07Speaker 1: I'm coming with my boys, I'm already like Vegas. I
- 34:09Speaker 1: feel like already had this amazing aura around it for
- 34:12Speaker 1: a celebration and a party and now you add the
- 34:15Speaker 1: biggest game, and I keep on mentioning swift. I think
- 34:17Speaker 1: it's real.
- 34:19Speaker 3: It is real. I mean it's like statistic really real
- 34:23Speaker 3: that Uh, it's it's just gonna be It's gonna be
- 34:25Speaker 3: a huge weekend.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Okay. And before we let you go, my last My
- 34:29Speaker 1: last thing is when you go to the super Bowl
- 34:33Speaker 1: and it's the average fans buying the ticket, what else
- 34:36Speaker 1: do you get in that if you just get a
- 34:38Speaker 1: super Bowl ticket, is it just access to the game,
- 34:40Speaker 1: or are there ways that you can also in that
- 34:43Speaker 1: journey you package it with. I'm gonna get to go
- 34:45Speaker 1: to an exclusive party, I'm gonna see t Paine perform.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna end up seeing Zach Bryan perform. Like I
- 34:50Speaker 1: know the NFL has on location and they have events,
- 34:52Speaker 1: but is it a la carte? How is that all handled?
- 34:54Speaker 1: If I'm Johnny Niners fan and screw it, I just
- 34:58Speaker 1: hit the lottery, or I just had a really good
- 34:59Speaker 1: year financially, I'm taking my kids to the super Bowl.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Is it just we got the game, we gotta find
- 35:04Speaker 1: our own hotel, or like, how's it all done?
- 35:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a great question. I mean, on location experiences again,
- 35:08Speaker 3: they do tickets, hotels, they sponsored their own events.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Then that's called on location experiences if you're looking like
- 35:15Speaker 1: that's what that company is called, correct.
- 35:16Speaker 3: So they specifically have it and they have their own
- 35:19Speaker 3: proprietary pregame event. But there are every hospitality vendor in
- 35:23Speaker 3: the world has some pop up going on that weekend. Also,
- 35:28Speaker 3: as you know, there are some of the best parties
- 35:30Speaker 3: throughout that weekend that Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night
- 35:34Speaker 3: Sports Illustrated as a party fanatics and Michael Rubin has
- 35:38Speaker 3: a secret VIP party that everybody tries to get into.
- 35:40Speaker 3: There's some pretty fun events that weekend.
- 35:42Speaker 1: I went to the Michael Ruben party last year. Were
- 35:45Speaker 1: you there, Brian?
- 35:47Speaker 3: I was not. I'm hoping this podcast will help me
- 35:50Speaker 3: in the go forward.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I went there last year. It was in Arizona. It
- 35:56Speaker 1: was really fun. I have never even thought to be
- 35:59Speaker 1: invited to the July fourth thing. That's not my world.
- 36:02Speaker 1: They don't want the disgusting me coming in there with
- 36:06Speaker 1: my stained white T shirt and old navy white pants.
- 36:09Speaker 1: But I did go to the Super Bowl and I
- 36:11Speaker 1: was happy enough to go. And I will tell you, uh,
- 36:15Speaker 1: I saw Bryce Young talked to him for a while,
- 36:18Speaker 1: saw Michael Parsons talk to him for a while, and
- 36:20Speaker 1: then I saw at that party David Tepper, Jerry Jones,
- 36:25Speaker 1: Mark Davis, Bob Kraft like that. That party is a
- 36:30Speaker 1: party to be at, and yet I think it's nearly
- 36:34Speaker 1: impossible to get in unless you know someone who knows
- 36:36Speaker 1: someone who knows someone who. In last year's case, I did.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Listen, you're with someone I know. Listen, you know next time,
- 36:41Speaker 3: go for go for a plus one.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I'm a bill, you could come, We could do it.
- 36:45Speaker 1: We could do it, all right, super Bowl. That's in, Brian,
- 36:48Speaker 1: I appreciate it real quick. Tell us about your company,
- 36:50Speaker 1: where we can find it, and if there's a website
- 36:53Speaker 1: we can we can use to use your services.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Yeah, Contiers Live, contierslive dot com. Any sports sponsors, please
- 37:00Speaker 3: reach out. We'd love to help you.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Okay, when you say sports sponsors, just real quick, what
- 37:03Speaker 1: does that mean? Because I'm I'm thinking of like, Okay,
- 37:05Speaker 1: Doritos spawned, there's a you know, a Super Bowl party.
- 37:09Speaker 1: But when you say sports sponsors for tickets, what's that mean?
- 37:12Speaker 3: Yeah? No, it just mean usually when you're a sponsor,
- 37:14Speaker 3: when you're sponsor of a league, or a team or
- 37:16Speaker 3: a venue. With those sponsorship come a lot of tickets.
- 37:19Speaker 3: And that's where our company comes in when you when
- 37:21Speaker 3: you need to manage those tickets on a day to
- 37:22Speaker 3: day basis. We're sort of the CRM system for you
- 37:24Speaker 3: to manage all those tickets.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Got it? And it's a software that I can log
- 37:27Speaker 1: in and not have to use a middleman. I could
- 37:30Speaker 1: just kind of go in and see and it could
- 37:31Speaker 1: be like, all right, well you could give these tickets
- 37:33Speaker 1: to these people, and this is how we do that.
- 37:35Speaker 1: We divvy it up amongst employees, whatever else.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Totally. If you work for Chase Bank and you're an
- 37:40Speaker 3: employee and you're saying, hey, how do I accest the
- 37:42Speaker 3: company tickets, we're the portal for you to be.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Able to do that's great. I love it. Smart. If
- 37:48Speaker 1: the NFL has free tickets line around you, let me know.
- 37:50Speaker 1: I'd love to hit that part. Maybe I could. I
- 37:52Speaker 1: don't know if they're a client, but maybe I can
- 37:54Speaker 1: help you make that introduction as well. All right, Brian Baslow,
- 37:57Speaker 1: awesome stuff. Thank you. The hottest ticket of all time?
- 38:01Speaker 1: It sounds like the Super Bowl fifty eight in Las Vegas. Dude,
- 38:04Speaker 1: I appreciate your time.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Thanks so much.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Being that was pretty interesting. I knew it would be.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I always I also thought for some reason, like that
- 38:17Speaker 1: the Detroit factor would be overriding as far as ticket
- 38:21Speaker 1: sales go, that every single person who's ever rooted for
- 38:25Speaker 1: the Lions would find a way nine thousand dollars, fifteen
- 38:28Speaker 1: thousand dollars, like my mortgage, my house would put it
- 38:31Speaker 1: on sale, like, so I can go. But I guess
- 38:33Speaker 1: San Francisco. He's right, it's a. It's a it's a
- 38:36Speaker 1: it's a combination for those fans of like, yes, they
- 38:39Speaker 1: might have some tech money there, but also we've been
- 38:42Speaker 1: knocking on the door for so long, and it's in Vegas.
- 38:44Speaker 1: It's a short flight. You're not spending on the flight.
- 38:46Speaker 1: You could even come in the day of and do
- 38:49Speaker 1: one night, or even fly in day of and maybe
- 38:51Speaker 1: get a flight out back to San Francisco. Aaron, were
- 38:54Speaker 1: you surprised that this is the hottest ticket in the
- 38:56Speaker 1: history of the Super Bowl.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Absolutely not. I mean, I think, like you said, two
- 39:01Speaker 2: dynasties that have both been very good the last five years,
- 39:05Speaker 2: So you have of as cynical as this is, you
- 39:08Speaker 2: have like true lifelong fans. And then you also have
- 39:11Speaker 2: people who maybe just got into the NFL in the
- 39:13Speaker 2: past five years, have loved Mahomes the whole time, and
- 39:16Speaker 2: they're like all on board. And then there's Taylor Swift,
- 39:20Speaker 2: and then it's Vegas. I think there's it's a perfect
- 39:23Speaker 2: storm of everything going right.
- 39:25Speaker 1: The Taylor Swift thing is interesting. So I have a friend,
- 39:27Speaker 1: Aaron Luber, who's been on this show many times, and
- 39:32Speaker 1: he said his wife has never watched down a football,
- 39:34Speaker 1: his daughter never watched down a football, and they're upsessed
- 39:36Speaker 1: with the Chiefs because of Taylor Swift. And I think
- 39:38Speaker 1: that sounds very simple, like football man's wife is now
- 39:40Speaker 1: into it. It sounds almost cliche, but they really root for
- 39:43Speaker 1: the Chiefs. They're on this ride. I don't think they're alone.
- 39:49Speaker 1: But how does that translate to wanting to be at
- 39:52Speaker 1: the game because she's there, you're not gonna guarantee yourself
- 39:54Speaker 1: an interaction. I'm surprised that her being at the game
- 39:57Speaker 1: has played a role into ticket sales viewership.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't. That's a great question because
- 40:04Speaker 2: he said he.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Said twenty percent that the thy percent higher in the
- 40:07Speaker 1: games that she's at. Is it just the idea of
- 40:08Speaker 1: being around a celebrity like that, she's in the building.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I'm in the building, I guess, and like you're there
- 40:13Speaker 2: when she's kind of there as a casual real person
- 40:17Speaker 2: because she's just there watching Travis play. She's not there performing.
- 40:21Speaker 2: It's not like I don't know. I don't understand that.
- 40:25Speaker 1: You know.
- 40:25Speaker 2: You and I have talked about Taylor Swift on this
- 40:27Speaker 2: show more times than anyone would have expected. I think
- 40:30Speaker 2: twelve part of the story it.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Is, if you were to tell me the story of
- 40:34Speaker 1: this NFL season, I'm coming to a blank when I'm
- 40:38Speaker 1: trying to think about, like we could talk about Lamar
- 40:40Speaker 1: and the amazing seasons that the Browns and Lions had
- 40:44Speaker 1: from out of nowhere and what Demko Ryans did, but
- 40:46Speaker 1: you better believe it's been this Chiefs team. And then
- 40:49Speaker 1: how this Taylor Swift Travis Kelsey deal has taken pop
- 40:52Speaker 1: culture by storm too.
- 40:54Speaker 2: I have a lukewarm take that I haven't voiced at all.
- 40:57Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm in the mood for that
- 40:59Speaker 1: this week go.
- 40:59Speaker 2: On, did does the Taylor Swift Travis Kelsey relationship overshadow
- 41:05Speaker 2: that Kelsey just had an incredible game it was his
- 41:08Speaker 2: best game any thing.
- 41:10Speaker 1: If anything, it puts more of a spotlight. He eleven
- 41:12Speaker 1: catches on eleven targets. He was amazing. And then afterwards
- 41:17Speaker 1: kind of sweet guy who has a new girlfriend are
- 41:21Speaker 1: embracing and kissing and not scared to show their affection,
- 41:24Speaker 1: and she says on the mic, up, I'm so proud
- 41:27Speaker 1: of you. You don't even know, like it's hard to
- 41:30Speaker 1: be cynic man.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. So, as I mentioned to you off Mike,
- 41:37Speaker 1: I thought we'd wrap the podcast with a little something. Okay,
- 41:42Speaker 1: I did a segment on Good Morning Football. I'm gonna
- 41:44Speaker 1: bring it back. It's gonna be recycling content, if that's okay.
- 41:48Speaker 1: The segment was five media ideas that I have for
- 41:53Speaker 1: Bill Belichick for next season. And it looks like he's
- 41:57Speaker 1: not gonna be a head coach. He could still be
- 41:58Speaker 1: a defensive coordinator somewhere. I can still coach across somewhere.
- 42:01Speaker 1: I can still coach college. He could be an executive somewhere.
- 42:04Speaker 1: That's all possible if he goes into meeting. Yeah, I
- 42:06Speaker 1: think the standard ideas are he'll be in a booth,
- 42:11Speaker 1: he'll be in a studio show, he'll have a podcast,
- 42:13Speaker 1: I listed five ideas. I'm gonna bounce him off with you, Aaron,
- 42:17Speaker 1: and you tell me your thoughts Number five. One of
- 42:20Speaker 1: the greatest clips of Bill Belichick is when Randy Moss
- 42:23Speaker 1: comes in in a twenty eleven documentary that he did
- 42:26Speaker 1: for NFL Films where they were tracking the twenty eleven Patriots,
- 42:30Speaker 1: and Randy Moss comes in and he just gives Bill
- 42:32Speaker 1: Belichick the heads up, we're having a Halloween party tonight.
- 42:35Speaker 1: It's gonna be had a roller skating rink. We'd love
- 42:36Speaker 1: for you to come, you know, bring Linda, who is
- 42:39Speaker 1: his girlfriend at the time, Like, we'd love for you
- 42:41Speaker 1: to but we're just giving your heads up. We're having
- 42:42Speaker 1: a party. I don't want you to be surprised by it.
- 42:44Speaker 1: And then the next clip is Bill Belichick dresses a
- 42:47Speaker 1: pirate doing laps in roller skates and everyone loving it,
- 42:51Speaker 1: and the relationship between Belichick and Moss is real. I
- 42:54Speaker 1: I don't know if I've ever told this story, but
- 42:56Speaker 1: the Minnesota Super Bowl, which happened to be Patriots versus Eagles,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I think yeah, Patriots Minnesota super Bowl, Randy Moss had
- 43:04Speaker 1: a birthday party. I want to say this was fortieth
- 43:06Speaker 1: day party. I had worked with Randy at Fox. We
- 43:08Speaker 1: had a really strong relationship with the time. We're still friendly.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I still text with him, but this was like we
- 43:11Speaker 1: would talk often we worked together, and Randy had just
- 43:15Speaker 1: started at ESPN, and he invited me to his fortieth
- 43:18Speaker 1: birthday party and Gary Owen did the comedy and performed
- 43:20Speaker 1: that like Gary Allan, I'm if you're a fan or
- 43:22Speaker 1: if you know his work, and I get there and
- 43:24Speaker 1: I was amazed to see the week of the Super Bowl,
- 43:27Speaker 1: I think it was the Thursday night. Bill Belichick was
- 43:30Speaker 1: there to celebrate Randy Moss's birthday party, and so was
- 43:33Speaker 1: Rex Ryan, and so were so many other teammates of
- 43:36Speaker 1: Randy's and it was just a really cool room. But
- 43:39Speaker 1: I think my idea is pairing Randy Moss's passion and
- 43:43Speaker 1: Bill Belichick's knowledge. And I think Belichick's also a man
- 43:45Speaker 1: of the sea, obviously his Navy background and his love
- 43:49Speaker 1: for Nantucket a phishing show. Bill Belichick and Randy Moss,
- 43:54Speaker 1: your thoughts, I love it.
- 43:55Speaker 2: I can just I mean, everyone always talks about the
- 43:57Speaker 2: viral clip of Bill, you know, in a press conference
- 44:01Speaker 2: after the game. He's never happy and then someone asks
- 44:04Speaker 2: him about a long snapper, and he goes on twelve minutes.
- 44:07Speaker 2: I can just imagine that two of them sitting on
- 44:10Speaker 2: the dock or the back of the boat a port
- 44:12Speaker 2: or starboard, whatever the back is, and Bill taught like
- 44:17Speaker 2: Randy calling out some fish that they're trying to catch.
- 44:20Speaker 2: And Bill goes on a fifteen minute soliloquy about how
- 44:23Speaker 2: much he loves this one particular, the skip back tuna,
- 44:27Speaker 2: because it's, you know, like the way that they travel
- 44:29Speaker 2: in school. I would love it a plus.
- 44:31Speaker 1: All in amazing. I love it that it would be
- 44:33Speaker 1: those two guys who have been so guarded from the
- 44:35Speaker 1: media for so many years. Just Uncut. Number four a
- 44:38Speaker 1: Patriots focused podcast with noted Patriots fan Bill Burr.
- 44:43Speaker 2: O have have Burr and Belichick done? They corected it all.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe I'm sure Burr is known by Belichick.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah uh.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Burr obviously one of the greatest comedians, one of the
- 44:57Speaker 1: most candid and unfiltered people in our world. Also huge
- 45:04Speaker 1: Patriots fan, huge Patriot. It's fan. Interesting one. Number three
- 45:09Speaker 1: The Coach Cast with Nick Saban and Pete Carroll, So
- 45:13Speaker 1: you know, the Manning Cast, and I say, the Manning
- 45:16Speaker 1: cast works because you get the football insights, but you
- 45:20Speaker 1: also get the crosstalk and the conversation. Nick Saban currently
- 45:25Speaker 1: not employed, Pete Carroll currently not employed. I don't know
- 45:27Speaker 1: what they plan on doing in the future, Saban. I'm
- 45:29Speaker 1: sure we'll have some advisory role with Alabama. Carol can
- 45:32Speaker 1: have the same with Seattle. Until then, every let's pick
- 45:37Speaker 1: a how about Amazon picks them up for every Thursday night,
- 45:40Speaker 1: these guys break down the game on a second alternative
- 45:42Speaker 1: telecast your thoughts.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Oh, I would love that because, I mean one of
- 45:47Speaker 2: our favorite things about your coworker, Greg Olsen, like Greg
- 45:50Speaker 2: when he's sitting there in the booth breaking down the
- 45:53Speaker 2: plays as they're happening and predicting what's going to happen
- 45:56Speaker 2: and like unfolding each team strategy in real time. Imagine
- 46:01Speaker 2: having three of the best coaches doing that at the
- 46:03Speaker 2: same time. I mean, that would be great.
- 46:05Speaker 1: I'd love that. And I can't imagine Belichick busting chops
- 46:08Speaker 1: with Carol Saban, Like that'd be fun. I think he
- 46:11Speaker 1: respects both those guys. Yes, all right. Number two A
- 46:15Speaker 1: show called Eighties and Nineties Giant Stuff, and it's with
- 46:18Speaker 1: Bill Parcells, Phil Sims, and Lawrence Taylor and they just
- 46:20Speaker 1: go back and watch all Giants games and talk about them.
- 46:23Speaker 2: So this is like, uh, like every every sitcom has
- 46:29Speaker 2: a rewatch podcast, and this would be Bill hosting it.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Scrubs going back watching episode.
- 46:35Speaker 2: And they bring in a guest each week who you know,
- 46:38Speaker 2: Like this week it's the it's you know, the wide Receiver,
- 46:41Speaker 2: and this week it's.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's the Office ladies, it's Jenni Fisher
- 46:46Speaker 1: or not jennif Fisher, Angela, Yes, Angela Kinsei who play
- 46:51Speaker 1: Pam and Angela from the Office. They go through every episode. Now,
- 46:54Speaker 1: I personally got sucked into the Sopranos one with our
- 46:59Speaker 1: guy Sharipa and Michael Imperioli when they watched every single
- 47:03Speaker 1: episode and did a recap. But to your point, they
- 47:05Speaker 1: brought on again, it'd be like here's the guy who
- 47:08Speaker 1: played cousin Veto and like he's gonna talk about it,
- 47:10Speaker 1: and here's the guy who played Angelo. So in this case,
- 47:14Speaker 1: eighties and nineties Giants stuff. I think the Giants have
- 47:16Speaker 1: a huge fan base. Jason English are our buddy from
- 47:19Speaker 1: my iHeart is in here, and I know he is
- 47:21Speaker 1: a hardcore Giants head of this era. You're in for it,
- 47:23Speaker 1: all right. The number one though that I thought would
- 47:25Speaker 1: be fun. Number one idea drum Rope co host the
- 47:29Speaker 1: NFL Red Zone with Scott Hanson every Sunday.
- 47:33Speaker 2: What two different levels of acargy? Which would be Which
- 47:36Speaker 2: would be great?
- 47:39Speaker 1: Man?
- 47:40Speaker 2: The I Also I think back to my favorite I
- 47:43Speaker 2: don't know favorite is the right word, but one of
- 47:45Speaker 2: the most memorable moments from Red Zone this year, of course,
- 47:47Speaker 2: is the fire alarms going off. Can you imagine Scott
- 47:50Speaker 2: and Bill, Like I can just see Bill totally unfazed.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Scott, Yeah, Scott, don't panic. That's why that's the fire department.
- 48:00Speaker 1: They'll do their job. That's what they're there for. Also,
- 48:03Speaker 1: like in the moment there's five games going on, fourth quarter,
- 48:10Speaker 1: you hear Belichick in the corner and be like, oh, yes, yeah,
- 48:12Speaker 1: what is Belichick into it? And he's watching some random
- 48:15Speaker 1: Bear Saints game that the game's like a twenty point
- 48:17Speaker 1: game and it's not significant, but it's like a punt.
- 48:19Speaker 2: Also, I would love, you know, Scott is there. Witching
- 48:23Speaker 2: Hour is Scott's thing. He's so excited for that one moment.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Maybe Bill gets a moment in the second slate of
- 48:29Speaker 2: games when his dog Nike shows up and just like
- 48:32Speaker 2: sits on his lap for a couple of plays and
- 48:34Speaker 2: then leaves like that would be good too.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Totally. Those are my five ideas. If you have any others,
- 48:40Speaker 1: please send him our way. Let's do the Uber sponsorship
- 48:45Speaker 1: at the end here? Is that still a sponsor?
- 48:46Speaker 3: Aaron?
- 48:47Speaker 1: We're still with those guys?
- 48:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and I'm we got to start thinking about
- 48:51Speaker 2: what food. I actually already made some grocery orders for
- 48:53Speaker 2: Super Bowl, so I have, you know, big bags of
- 48:56Speaker 2: chips to eat during the game.
- 48:58Speaker 1: This is gonna be the first Super Bowl in many
- 49:00Speaker 1: years that I will not be attending, and maybe I
- 49:03Speaker 1: should use some Uber eats. Is that the Uber eats
- 49:07Speaker 1: is because it's almost almost anything that we can get.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Maybe they can make me some guacamole and some chips
- 49:13Speaker 1: and we'll go down there.
- 49:15Speaker 2: What about cotton candy? You think Uber eats could get
- 49:17Speaker 2: you some? Can'ty?
- 49:18Speaker 1: Do you think they could? They get almost almost anything
- 49:21Speaker 1: the season when Peter Schragger delivering results is presented by
- 49:24Speaker 1: Uber eats, it's time for delivering results presented by Uber eats.
- 49:27Speaker 1: This week, I want to shout out brock Purty as
- 49:30Speaker 1: our individual who purely delivered in the biggest moments. Party
- 49:35Speaker 1: down seventeen. I think he went five of seventeen with
- 49:38Speaker 1: a pick in the first half. And I said it
- 49:40Speaker 1: on air on Good Morning Football. I had friends in
- 49:42Speaker 1: my mentions in a text chain, I'm on saying time
- 49:46Speaker 1: to go to Donald What are we doing here? Like
- 49:47Speaker 1: even now they still don't believe in Party, even all
- 49:50Speaker 1: of you, that's still gonna be Let's go to Donald. Well,
- 49:52Speaker 1: Party turned it around, had some amazing drives, had some
- 49:55Speaker 1: key passes to Juwan Jennings, and some key plays to Deebo,
- 49:58Speaker 1: Samuel and Kittle, and of course the little toe tap
- 50:00Speaker 1: from us Check which was so impressive and so good.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Brock Purty delivered results. And now it just this his
- 50:06Speaker 1: second year in the NFL, he will be playing in
- 50:08Speaker 1: a super Bowl against the greatest quarterback of his generation.
- 50:11Speaker 1: I say that without maybe saying possibly or anything contingent
- 50:15Speaker 1: on anything. It is Brady and it is now Mahomes.
- 50:18Speaker 1: When you're talking about the last twenty years of NFL
- 50:21Speaker 1: quarterbacks and the guys who win the games, brock perty
- 50:24Speaker 1: is going to try to dethrow mahomes in this one.
- 50:27Speaker 1: In about ten days from now, I was delivering results
- 50:30Speaker 1: abou uber eats soherea can do almost almost anything, the
- 50:32Speaker 1: official on demand partner of the NFL. Order Now, Aaron,
- 50:37Speaker 1: thank you for joining me. Jason, thank you for joining me.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Enjoy the next two days. I'm gonna go down to Mobile,
- 50:42Speaker 1: Alabama for Friday afternoon. I'm going to check out the
- 50:45Speaker 1: Senior Bowl. Oo.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Any players you're particularly excited to see, yeah, all of them.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I haven't done the research yet. I've got to dig in.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Our NFL networks doing a good job. They got all
- 50:53Speaker 1: the guys down there. I'll start digging in, but I
- 50:55Speaker 1: like to get my feet on the ground a little bit,
- 50:57Speaker 1: touch the grass if you will, and I'll have some
- 51:00Speaker 1: stories I'm sure, hopefully not any travel stories. Yeah yeah,
- 51:04Speaker 1: connecting through Atlanta and a little puddle jumper to a
- 51:06Speaker 1: mobile all should go well with that. Thanks for listening, everybody.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Thank you to all the folks in LA who help
- 51:14Speaker 1: with us together as well as of course Aaron, Jason
- 51:17Speaker 1: and all the producers from the iHeart Side. Please keep
- 51:21Speaker 1: on listening. Tell your friends we will have some great
- 51:23Speaker 1: guests over the off season. Of course, but it's the
- 51:25Speaker 1: biggest week at sports. Next week we'll definitely have a
- 51:28Speaker 1: good episode till then, enjoy the super Bowl bye week.
