- 0:00Speaker 1: What to do.
- 0:00Speaker 2: We're finally back again. Grounded Show, Episode one fifty three.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Next a little Hiato. Yeah, it took a little took
- 0:07Speaker 1: a little break. Man. It's been a busy summer. You know.
- 0:09Speaker 2: These kids been home all day long. They got all
- 0:12Speaker 2: these events back and forth. My daughter's in like four
- 0:14Speaker 2: plays at once. It's insane. Man, it's been been busy.
- 0:18Speaker 2: But they finally back in school. Man, I get to
- 0:20Speaker 2: reclaim some of my life again. Man, them parents out there,
- 0:25Speaker 2: no Man, when the school starts again, it's like.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Oh man, I get to breathe. I excited for back
- 0:30Speaker 1: to school now.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Facts and it's always dope too when like they had
- 0:35Speaker 2: like a good summer, like a busy summer too, where
- 0:37Speaker 2: it's like they weren't just wasting away all summer, you
- 0:40Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I know when I was a Yeah, I was just
- 0:42Speaker 1: gonna say that when I was young, I didn't do anything.
- 0:44Speaker 1: That's a damn thing. Bro.
- 0:47Speaker 2: But speaking of summer summer, slams just passed. I haven't
- 0:51Speaker 2: been too tapped into WWE lately. I feel like it's
- 0:56Speaker 2: just being a little bit repetitive.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's still growing though, I know, Like I listened
- 1:00Speaker 3: to satellite radio and they officially have their own channel.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, they took over the live stream SummerSlam
- 1:07Speaker 3: on YEP.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So they're going to actually start simulcasting on the radio
- 1:14Speaker 2: basically like all the major shows and stuff. Boots gonna
- 1:18Speaker 2: be one of the guys on that too, so he's good.
- 1:20Speaker 1: If you go on to that.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Radio station, you'll hear Booker T call the action, which
- 1:23Speaker 2: is pretty dope. Like growing up with Booker T and
- 1:26Speaker 2: and seeing them as a kid and everything.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah, all the stuff in and out integrating with ESPN,
- 1:31Speaker 3: Like you see all these wrestlers on like seth Rowlins
- 1:35Speaker 3: doing like Sports Center in the morning or something.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Dan Housen was all over that NIXT run, you know
- 1:41Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Like that was like kind of like it was crazy
- 1:45Speaker 2: timing for him too, but like he was there right
- 1:49Speaker 2: when they were having trouble in that first round series.
- 1:52Speaker 2: He was on Sports Center and he was just doing
- 1:54Speaker 2: his kind of stick and was like he cursed them
- 1:57Speaker 2: they were having trouble in the series, and then he
- 1:58Speaker 2: told Steven A. Smith he was gonna uncourage them, and
- 2:01Speaker 2: then they had the run that they had, So that
- 2:03Speaker 2: opened up like that partnership between WW and the Knicks.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Bro.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I know he made crazy bank at run right there. Bro, Like,
- 2:12Speaker 2: that's another thing people are like complaining about now, like
- 2:16Speaker 2: saying like they're overdoing it with Dan Housen. But it's
- 2:18Speaker 2: like it's just a joke, Like you know what I mean.
- 2:21Speaker 2: You take it for what it is. You don't watch
- 2:22Speaker 2: them and think like, oh, this is the same as
- 2:24Speaker 2: like watching brock lesson or something.
- 2:26Speaker 3: He's trying to expand their content, just give something different,
- 2:28Speaker 3: and he's actually funny to the point of view, I.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Don't be liking the comedy they do usually, but he
- 2:33Speaker 2: actually be doing some funny stuff.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Man, that's funny. Were speaking of.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Brock lesser Man just officially retired officially this time after
- 2:41Speaker 2: it looked like he was going to retire after WrestleMania
- 2:45Speaker 2: he left his boots in the middle of the ring.
- 2:46Speaker 2: He said in an interview, like t take it for
- 2:50Speaker 2: what it is worth. He said that after he got
- 2:53Speaker 2: power bomb by Obafemi, he really felt like he was done,
- 2:57Speaker 2: Like he was like, yo, I can't take this no more,
- 2:59Speaker 2: and that's why he like retired. But then he ended
- 3:01Speaker 2: up staying for like a couple more matches. But supposedly
- 3:04Speaker 2: that that slam that he took in that.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yeah, because he has health issues and I knowing that
- 3:08Speaker 3: that was bothering him and there's only so many slams
- 3:10Speaker 3: he can take from over Femi. But it's time, like,
- 3:14Speaker 3: you know, actually lifting his hand up and like showing like, hey,
- 3:18Speaker 3: it's you now.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you know that it looks like it is. Officially,
- 3:21Speaker 1: he was.
- 3:21Speaker 2: On the Pat McAfee show and he's like, yeah, man,
- 3:24Speaker 2: I'm forty nine, Bro, it's about that time. And when
- 3:26Speaker 2: you think about it, bro, like Geah slam forty nine,
- 3:32Speaker 2: like especially however, he is like almost three hundred pounds himself.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Bro. Like it's different when you lighten, you get slam.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But if you like gravity, three hundred pounds of gravity,
- 3:41Speaker 1: that's insane, man.
- 3:43Speaker 2: But it's crazy because brouck Leslie retired, Randy Oron came
- 3:48Speaker 2: back and it's like, damn Randy Orang is like the
- 3:51Speaker 2: last one like that that generation.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, lots of He's like pretty much the oldest VET
- 3:57Speaker 1: right now.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much because he was like just bursting on
- 4:01Speaker 2: the scene like early two thousands when like Triple A's
- 4:04Speaker 2: the rock, all of them was in their heyday, you know,
- 4:07Speaker 2: the last run of like stone Cold.
- 4:09Speaker 1: That was like Randy Oron is like.
- 4:11Speaker 2: First year in the W so it was like he, Bro,
- 4:15Speaker 2: he's been around, like he's he feels more like a
- 4:18Speaker 2: vet too because of who.
- 4:19Speaker 1: He interacted with, you know what I mean.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Like, I don't think his performance has declined that much
- 4:24Speaker 3: though since.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Yo, this is random, but I've always felt like the
- 4:29Speaker 2: best comparison for Randy Orton is Team Mac because you know,
- 4:33Speaker 2: because they both have back problems, bro, and they both
- 4:36Speaker 2: like were affected like where you're like what if? Because
- 4:39Speaker 2: t Mac and Randy Orton have always had like long
- 4:42Speaker 2: histories of injuries and a bad times, you know what
- 4:45Speaker 2: I mean.
- 4:46Speaker 3: I think he was able to come back from that,
- 4:49Speaker 3: unlike was able to come back.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Well.
- 4:51Speaker 2: It's also because like WW is pre pre written, you know,
- 4:55Speaker 2: it's easier to kind of like work around it. But like,
- 4:59Speaker 2: for example, like Team Mac was having back issues in
- 5:01Speaker 2: the playoffs one year, and I remember he was like
- 5:04Speaker 2: super mad, like talking to the reporters and stuff like yo.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Y'all think I'm just like, oh, I don't want.
- 5:09Speaker 2: To play today, Like you know what I'm saying, Like
- 5:11Speaker 2: my back is messed up, Like I can't do anything
- 5:14Speaker 2: about it, you.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Know, and.
- 5:17Speaker 2: If I definitely felt that, you know, just living in
- 5:20Speaker 2: Orlando at the time and seeing like, damn, we're not
- 5:22Speaker 2: gonna have Team AC.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Tonight, that that Tea mac Era was was fun to watch. Yeah,
- 5:26Speaker 1: he was. He was definitely something special. Man. He was
- 5:29Speaker 1: a hooper. He was a super hooper.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Speaking of Hooper, man, like, one of the things that's
- 5:35Speaker 2: been like taking a lot of my time has been coaching.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I'm coaching my son's basketball.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Team at the Y, and man, we just had like
- 5:42Speaker 2: a real like special season this time.
- 5:44Speaker 1: You know, like all the kids were really locked.
- 5:46Speaker 2: In the team we played in the first game they
- 5:50Speaker 2: beat us by like four first game we played them
- 5:54Speaker 2: in the playoffs for third place. Last game, which was
- 5:58Speaker 2: this past Saturday, and we stomped them.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Bro.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Like, we were up about like twenty something at one point.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I don't even know how much we ended up winning
- 6:05Speaker 2: by it because like by the fourth quarter, like we
- 6:07Speaker 2: were just trying to get all the kids to spot,
- 6:09Speaker 2: you know what I mean, because it was like already
- 6:11Speaker 2: like out of hand type thing. And it's just like, dang, bro,
- 6:14Speaker 2: like seeing that change from like the beginning of the
- 6:17Speaker 2: season to the end of the season. It was like
- 6:19Speaker 2: mad rewarding and like a lot of the parents want
- 6:22Speaker 2: some of the kids to keep working with me, so
- 6:23Speaker 2: like we're going to start running like little scrimmages and
- 6:25Speaker 2: stuff like that.
- 6:26Speaker 1: A recreational league, right, yeah, it's so it's just the
- 6:29Speaker 1: wide league, the.
- 6:30Speaker 3: One it's good like you treated like a development league
- 6:32Speaker 3: actually showing these kids how to get better.
- 6:34Speaker 2: And that's that's what it is. Like the why it
- 6:36Speaker 2: is like a development league. Some parents be like so
- 6:39Speaker 2: od and like trying to get all these ask all
- 6:43Speaker 2: these basketball questions when it's like, bro, like this is
- 6:46Speaker 2: a participation league.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Like everybody plays the same amount of playing time.
- 6:50Speaker 2: There's a lot of kids here that have never played basketball.
- 6:53Speaker 2: So like you got to kind of take take it
- 6:55Speaker 2: from what it is. You know, it averages out to
- 6:57Speaker 2: like a little more than ten bucks a game, like
- 6:59Speaker 2: what you pay.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Because there's these leagues out there, the.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Extra development leagues where they have like you know, professional
- 7:04Speaker 3: jerseys and practice and scrimmages and all that.
- 7:07Speaker 1: That costs a lot of money. It costs a lot
- 7:08Speaker 1: of money. And if your kid is sorry he's not playing,
- 7:10Speaker 1: oh yeah yeah, yeah, you got you gotta.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Try to be paying the same amount as everybody else,
- 7:15Speaker 2: doing the same amount of travel to see your kid.
- 7:17Speaker 1: On the venet the whole time.
- 7:18Speaker 2: That's rough, Like at least after why they all get
- 7:20Speaker 2: in the egual amount of playing. Again, it's not no
- 7:23Speaker 2: aau and you're not gonna be on no highlight reel,
- 7:26Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying on ESPN. But you know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: you're getting real in game practice.
- 7:30Speaker 1: You learn how to play, you know what I'm saying.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Like it's basically like a scrimmage even though it's a game,
- 7:35Speaker 2: you know what I mean. And it's like something it's
- 7:38Speaker 2: easy to like not take it too serious, you know,
- 7:40Speaker 2: Like it's like I.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Say, back up, is he going to keep playing? Yeah?
- 7:43Speaker 2: He plays every he plays every season. He's like I said,
- 7:46Speaker 2: it's just good practice, you know, just he's going to
- 7:49Speaker 2: start up. You're going to try to try out to
- 7:52Speaker 2: this year he's an eighth try out for the team,
- 7:55Speaker 2: and then you know obviously ninth and tenth and everything.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Keep doing it and giving those reps and sets during
- 8:00Speaker 3: these YMCA leagues. It keeps them, you know, agile and
- 8:04Speaker 3: make sure he doesn't get rusty.
- 8:06Speaker 2: And it's like I've been like drilling in his head Ayo,
- 8:08Speaker 2: It's like you gotta put the work in, bro. Like
- 8:12Speaker 2: that's the difference between somebody that's like nice and somebody that's.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Like for real, legit, real.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Deal and you push them like like Jennen Brunson, Dad, I'll.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Be so like like when he was a little bit younger,
- 8:27Speaker 2: I was a little more relaxed about it because I
- 8:29Speaker 2: was like, he's still a kid too, so like you know,
- 8:31Speaker 2: but now he just turned thirteen, and now it was
- 8:34Speaker 2: like a different conversation, you know what I mean.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And you know, getting him to understand like.
- 8:39Speaker 2: What it means to be like the leader of the team,
- 8:41Speaker 2: how to set the tone and everything.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's more than just about playing basketball. So it's
- 8:45Speaker 3: the attitude, the leadership, setting a standard and you know,
- 8:52Speaker 3: showing discipline so the other teammates can follow too.
- 8:55Speaker 1: And like a big thing.
- 8:56Speaker 2: One thing I'm big on, bro, is like you can't
- 8:59Speaker 2: tell you people.
- 9:00Speaker 1: To do something if they don't see you doing it,
- 9:02Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Like that, I've always like operated like that, like I
- 9:06Speaker 2: will never ask somebody to do something that they don't
- 9:09Speaker 2: know for sure that I know to do and I
- 9:11Speaker 2: could do it, you know what I mean, and I've
- 9:13Speaker 2: done it, you know what I'm saying, Like, it's like
- 9:16Speaker 2: you gotta especially with basketball, bro, Like when you're on
- 9:19Speaker 2: the court, if you know the basketball is never coming
- 9:22Speaker 2: to you, you play a different way because if you
- 9:25Speaker 2: know that you're never going to get a chance to score,
- 9:27Speaker 2: you're not gonna play with the same intensity as if
- 9:29Speaker 2: you know, oh, let me be ready because the ball
- 9:31Speaker 2: could come my way, you know what I'm saying, And
- 9:33Speaker 2: like understanding, Like it's a funny thing, man, Like you're
- 9:39Speaker 2: not going to score as many points if you don't
- 9:41Speaker 2: get your team going because they're just going to focus
- 9:43Speaker 2: on you. And it's kind of like that's the same
- 9:45Speaker 2: way it is in life. I involved people be like
- 9:47Speaker 2: hoarding skills and hoarding knowledge and stuff like, oh, only
- 9:51Speaker 2: I can make money with this, and then at the
- 9:52Speaker 2: end of the day, they're making less money because they're
- 9:56Speaker 2: not locking in, you know what I'm saying, Like, if
- 9:58Speaker 2: you're not locking in with people, like they're consistently going
- 10:01Speaker 2: to go to you for stuff, you're just trying to be.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Like the gatekeeper of everything that allows them to get
- 10:05Speaker 3: lazy too, exactly, and they just depend on you, Like, hey,
- 10:08Speaker 3: you're not. You're not showing me. You're not showing me
- 10:10Speaker 3: what we need to do out here as a team.
- 10:12Speaker 3: You're just doing your own thing out there and letting
- 10:14Speaker 3: you do it. I'm just out here because we need
- 10:16Speaker 3: five people on the court exactly exactly, Bro.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And it's like every I mean, it's something that we
- 10:21Speaker 2: talk about all the time, Bro, Like everything at the
- 10:23Speaker 2: end of the day revolves around the same thing, like
- 10:25Speaker 2: the consistency, Like there's no that's like the boring thing
- 10:29Speaker 2: about getting great at something, Like people think Steph Curry
- 10:32Speaker 2: did something like out of this world to get as
- 10:35Speaker 2: good as he did, Like no, he just shot hundreds
- 10:38Speaker 2: of thousands of times every day, Like that's all.
- 10:41Speaker 1: It was, like he don't, he don't got no kind
- 10:44Speaker 1: of nothing.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Like I have a little theory of like, you know,
- 10:47Speaker 2: just kids that grow up around like NBA size courts,
- 10:51Speaker 2: they get a good feel for it from an early age.
- 10:53Speaker 1: So definitely that could be some of it.
- 10:55Speaker 2: But there's so many NBA kids that are not Steph Curry,
- 11:00Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. And it's just like, Bro,
- 11:02Speaker 2: if you're put the same thing with Ray Allen, Bro,
- 11:04Speaker 2: people used to always be like, man, how does Ray
- 11:07Speaker 2: Allen bro maybe because he's here four hours early and
- 11:10Speaker 2: putting up two.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Thousand shots before the game. So I was watching.
- 11:13Speaker 3: I was watching the replay today of the gold medal
- 11:17Speaker 3: Olympic game, and I'll start Steph Curry went off at
- 11:20Speaker 3: the end with those five threes, even at two people,
- 11:23Speaker 3: hands up off balance and still made the shot. And
- 11:26Speaker 3: they're like, you know, players won't shoot that, and if
- 11:30Speaker 3: they do, you're going to ask them why do you
- 11:32Speaker 3: shoot that? But with him because of how he shoots,
- 11:34Speaker 3: and you know it's gonna go win.
- 11:36Speaker 1: And it did.
- 11:38Speaker 3: And now I see LaMelo ball clips and I always
- 11:41Speaker 3: enjoyed watching him, and he said, they show him he's
- 11:43Speaker 3: in the gym throwing.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Up like thirty thousand shots just NonStop. That kid is
- 11:48Speaker 1: a hooper. Man.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I'm excited to see, uh, see how how this works
- 11:53Speaker 2: out in Minnesota. Like I heard the coach talking the
- 11:56Speaker 2: other day, I think when when camp opened, the interviewed
- 12:00Speaker 2: him me and he was just kind of speaking on
- 12:02Speaker 2: his vision of how they'll run the team, and like
- 12:04Speaker 2: one of the things he said is like basically they
- 12:07Speaker 2: see having LaMelo unlocking at his true position because now
- 12:12Speaker 2: he don't got to beat the point guard anymore. And
- 12:15Speaker 2: I'm like, you know what, that does sound kind of interesting, Man,
- 12:17Speaker 2: that does sound kind of interesting.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm going to watch a lot more of those games.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yeah, And he was saying that he feels like LaMelo
- 12:24Speaker 2: is going to unlock Rudy Gobert's offensive game, and it's
- 12:28Speaker 2: like he's he's he improved last year a lot, I
- 12:31Speaker 2: mean last year in the playoffs, like he really shook
- 12:33Speaker 2: off a lot of that.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Yeah, they had a good joke. They already had a
- 12:35Speaker 3: good team. Now they're going to get better.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Man, next next year in the NBA, there's so many
- 12:41Speaker 2: good teams.
- 12:42Speaker 1: It's gonna be insane. Man. I love man.
- 12:45Speaker 2: The last few years have been so enjoyable in the NBA,
- 12:48Speaker 2: and it's just a lot of bast year is going
- 12:49Speaker 2: to be another one of those, you know what I mean,
- 12:51Speaker 2: like just a really good season.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I'm excited to see that, man.
- 12:56Speaker 2: But yeah, Man, we had the the event a couple
- 13:02Speaker 2: of weeks ago at the Winery the last Thursday of
- 13:06Speaker 2: the month.
- 13:07Speaker 1: To kickback, We're gonna.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Start doing second Thursday at a month the Spanish Joint,
- 13:13Speaker 2: So we're gonna have the Spanish Night definitely keep a
- 13:16Speaker 2: lookout on that. We're gonna start advertising that real soon.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I'm excited, bro, because like you see, like the first
- 13:24Speaker 2: couple of times that we did it, a lot of
- 13:26Speaker 2: that Spanish crowd was coming on, still coming on, and
- 13:28Speaker 2: it was asking for it, you know.
- 13:30Speaker 1: What I mean.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Like, so now just knowing that we're gonna hit like
- 13:35Speaker 2: those people, you know what I'm saying, and we're gonna
- 13:37Speaker 2: just like I just, bro, I love the idea of
- 13:42Speaker 2: like people like us like chilling a spot like that,
- 13:47Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Like, that's that like the
- 13:49Speaker 2: Thursday event, bro, Like that's like one of the coolest
- 13:52Speaker 2: things to me is like just seeing everybody like legit vibing.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Like when you can like create a space where like
- 13:59Speaker 2: adults that have so much stress on them can just
- 14:02Speaker 2: come and really just.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Disconnect and have like a hell of a night. Like
- 14:06Speaker 1: you've seen that, bro.
- 14:07Speaker 2: That night people with karaoke and at a certain point,
- 14:10Speaker 2: like they're.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Doing line dancing.
- 14:11Speaker 3: That's why like when I'm there, like I love when
- 14:15Speaker 3: my people come and our people come, but I'm locked in.
- 14:19Speaker 3: I'm there to you know, provide a certain atmosphere and
- 14:22Speaker 3: vibe for people to continue to not let the energy break.
- 14:25Speaker 3: So sometimes I walk down and say what's up, But
- 14:27Speaker 3: for most of time, I'm up there making sure the
- 14:30Speaker 3: energy keeps getting higher and higher and higher and keep
- 14:32Speaker 3: everybody locked in.
- 14:34Speaker 1: And I don't enjoy it.
- 14:36Speaker 3: And it I truly enjoy doing that, but I also
- 14:39Speaker 3: feel bad because you know, people come there to support,
- 14:42Speaker 3: but I'm like, I'm not going to sit here and
- 14:43Speaker 3: talk to you all night.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I got a job to do. Yeah. And that's another
- 14:46Speaker 1: thing too.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Like like when people pull up, like come out to vive,
- 14:51Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Most and mostly everybody that
- 14:53Speaker 2: comes out does, but there is certain people here and
- 14:56Speaker 2: there that come out like kind of expecting, like you
- 14:58Speaker 2: to entertain them, and it's like, na, this is like
- 15:00Speaker 2: this is a kickback, bro, Like you know what I'm saying, like, go,
- 15:04Speaker 2: you know, mingle, there's you know, this fresh wine from
- 15:07Speaker 2: this spot, Like you can enjoy everything here in this spot, right.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And I'm going to play some good music in the background. Exactly.
- 15:12Speaker 1: That's it.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And bro, that's why like I love the crowd that
- 15:15Speaker 2: we bring out there because they're just locked into what
- 15:17Speaker 2: we're doing.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Dog, and it just always is an insane vibe.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Like this last one that was like the best one though,
- 15:23Speaker 2: Like I mean, it gets better every week, I mean
- 15:25Speaker 2: every month, but like this last.
- 15:27Speaker 1: One was crazy.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Man, Like I love more people are starting just come
- 15:30Speaker 3: to the front and just sit there and listen to
- 15:32Speaker 3: the music. And that's why I care about it so much,
- 15:34Speaker 3: because like it's not everybody. I'm like, but okay, these
- 15:37Speaker 3: people are here to hear the music that that we're promoting.
- 15:40Speaker 3: You know, it's a nineties, two thousands R and B vibe.
- 15:43Speaker 3: They can't here for the music now.
- 15:45Speaker 2: But even if you people like the people at the
- 15:47Speaker 2: bar and stuff, they get super into it too, the
- 15:49Speaker 2: people and.
- 15:49Speaker 1: The people outside.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah, they even came inside and they're like, hey, can
- 15:52Speaker 3: you play a little more of this.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I got you.
- 15:54Speaker 3: That's why I'm here, Like because they're out there vibeen talking,
- 15:57Speaker 3: having a conversation, joining some drinks and food, and be
- 16:01Speaker 3: able to hear their favorite music playing in the background.
- 16:04Speaker 3: And like that's the energy that we try to bring
- 16:06Speaker 3: for everything we do.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and we're growing.
- 16:08Speaker 3: And we're getting better at it, and like I'm.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Excited for this second night.
- 16:14Speaker 3: You know, it could be the same crowd or Latin
- 16:16Speaker 3: crowd or different crowd, whatever it may be.
- 16:18Speaker 1: We're going to bring the same type of quality.
- 16:20Speaker 2: The people that come on Thursday, pull up on.
- 16:23Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, pull up there.
- 16:24Speaker 2: If you come last Thursday, come second Thursdays, it's gonna
- 16:26Speaker 2: be in the same vibes, just a.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Little bit different soundtrack. But that's you know how it's
- 16:31Speaker 1: only different.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Back in the day in my neighborhood, bro, all the
- 16:34Speaker 2: black dudes and all the regged tho. Yeah, everybody knew.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Everybody knew everything. We was all just.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Vibing to Daddy Yankee. Though I didn't even like reggae
- 16:42Speaker 1: thro My homies was like, you know what I'm saying, going.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Crazy it, Yeah, it was going because it's energy.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Is good energy music. You know, as long as you
- 16:54Speaker 3: can feel, you don't have to understand what it is.
- 16:56Speaker 3: It's like Quincy is a big he knows a lot
- 16:58Speaker 3: of regged throes now and now you know some of
- 17:00Speaker 3: the world. I was from the neighborhood, But that's how
- 17:02Speaker 3: he recognizes. He doesn't have to understand what it means nothing.
- 17:05Speaker 3: That was a whole bad bunny thing. That was a
- 17:08Speaker 3: controversy it's like, oh, I'm not I don't I don't
- 17:10Speaker 3: know Spanish, I'm not gonnderstand. But that was the hell
- 17:12Speaker 3: of a performed music as a vibe, Man, music is
- 17:14Speaker 3: you know, it's US international language.
- 17:17Speaker 2: It's funny how like how much music has been devalued,
- 17:21Speaker 2: but at the same time it's still such a big deal.
- 17:24Speaker 1: You feel what I'm saying. It's like people kind of.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Like like dismiss it nowadays, but then somebody like Bad
- 17:31Speaker 2: Bunny's gonna perform at the super Bowl and everybody goes insane, and.
- 17:34Speaker 3: It's kind of like, that's why I like the vibe
- 17:37Speaker 3: we promote because I'm not a club DJ.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I'm not there to do blends and drops and build.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Ups, and I'm there to keep a consistent vibe and
- 17:47Speaker 3: just consistent thing. So it's like, Okay, I enjoyed myself
- 17:50Speaker 3: on the second I got there to the second I left,
- 17:54Speaker 3: and I don't want to break that vibe the whole
- 17:56Speaker 3: entire time.
- 17:56Speaker 1: And that's our approach for why we do these things. Yeah,
- 18:00Speaker 1: hell yeah, Man.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Just the invents in general, man has been a thing
- 18:03Speaker 2: that has been really exciting and real dope to kind
- 18:06Speaker 2: of build up and it's exciting to keep expanding that,
- 18:12Speaker 2: you know what I mean, We've talked you and aj
- 18:15Speaker 2: I have talked about doing like little events here and stuff.
- 18:18Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying at the studio a little
- 18:19Speaker 2: like private events and small groups doing different things. So
- 18:23Speaker 2: we're definitely gonna start, you know, getting a move on
- 18:26Speaker 2: on that kind of stuff, because, like I said, man
- 18:29Speaker 2: like like we've been talking about lately too, just like
- 18:32Speaker 2: how physical stuff has really been getting to a point
- 18:35Speaker 2: where it's like super necessary and it's not like how
- 18:39Speaker 2: it was before, where like everybody's like, like the online
- 18:43Speaker 2: thing is kind of wearing off. I feel like I'm saying,
- 18:46Speaker 2: like people are starting to I think that was social
- 18:48Speaker 2: media that was big.
- 18:49Speaker 3: COVID made it blow up so much because people that's
- 18:53Speaker 3: all people had and you couldn't be interactive physically around
- 18:57Speaker 3: other people because of COVID. So alle remember like the
- 19:01Speaker 3: online djaning, the live streams all that, and I want
- 19:03Speaker 3: to get into that, and.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I don't want to do that. I
- 19:05Speaker 1: don't want to. I don't think people are staying home
- 19:08Speaker 1: like that anymore.
- 19:10Speaker 3: So that's why and I love how we have these
- 19:13Speaker 3: ideas and it makes sense to us, and we take
- 19:16Speaker 3: our time to make sure that exist the right idea.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Because we talked about events for a while, matter of facts,
- 19:21Speaker 3: and then we started and we're like, this is what
- 19:24Speaker 3: we were talking about. You know, it's not you know,
- 19:28Speaker 3: instant kind of we think of an idea and we're
- 19:31Speaker 3: doing it the next week. It's like, no, we think
- 19:33Speaker 3: of an idea, we kind of master it. We think
- 19:35Speaker 3: of all aspects of it and say this is going
- 19:38Speaker 3: to fit, this is going to work, and then once
- 19:40Speaker 3: we executed it, it worked perfect.
- 19:42Speaker 2: And it's like it's one of those things too, Bro,
- 19:44Speaker 2: that I feel like what a lot of people miss
- 19:46Speaker 2: when they try things is that people that know them
- 19:50Speaker 2: are watching them.
- 19:52Speaker 1: And seeing the follow through as well. Yeah.
- 19:54Speaker 2: So if somebody sees you start something twelve times a
- 19:57Speaker 2: year and never sees.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Any follow through, they're not gonna anything that you do.
- 20:01Speaker 1: They're not gonna care.
- 20:02Speaker 2: That's why every time, like whenever I'm doing something like bro,
- 20:05Speaker 2: if I'm that's why, like I talked about it, we're
- 20:09Speaker 2: Richie that time that we had him on the pot
- 20:11Speaker 2: that you wasn't here, he's like, yo, if he if
- 20:14Speaker 2: he rocks with you, he shares everything. Yeah.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe that me. I'm gonna share it if
- 20:20Speaker 1: it's something that I can get the same. That's a
- 20:22Speaker 1: great point. And there's so many people.
- 20:26Speaker 3: That I know that I follow who are starting certain
- 20:29Speaker 3: CONDI creation or creativity kind of creation type of things, right,
- 20:33Speaker 3: And they're like, Oh, it's funny how strangers like comment repost.
- 20:36Speaker 3: But my friends that I've known forever don't like Listen,
- 20:40Speaker 3: I've just seen you start doing this. I don't know
- 20:42Speaker 3: where it's going. I'm not gonna just repost it because
- 20:45Speaker 3: it's you and I know you.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I wanted this.
- 20:47Speaker 3: I want this to become something I enjoy watching. And
- 20:49Speaker 3: if it doesn't become that, and if it just stops.
- 20:53Speaker 1: And if it doesn't hit, it doesn't hit, it doesn't hit.
- 20:55Speaker 1: That's like something we always talk about on the pod too.
- 20:58Speaker 2: But it's always good to mention, like whatever you decided
- 21:01Speaker 2: to do, everybody around you didn't.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Sign up to be a fan of. Yeah, that's true.
- 21:05Speaker 1: So it's like you have to start knowing.
- 21:08Speaker 2: That from the beginning, Like I'm not doing this so
- 21:11Speaker 2: the twenty people around me start worshiping me or something,
- 21:15Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Like, I'm doing this to
- 21:16Speaker 2: reach the people that I'm gonna reach with what I'm doing.
- 21:19Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 21:20Speaker 3: When we met, I told you off the back, before
- 21:22Speaker 3: the podcast, before anything, I said, Hey, you make the
- 21:25Speaker 3: type of music that I always love to listen to,
- 21:28Speaker 3: the type of r and be kind of vibe that
- 21:29Speaker 3: I've always enjoyed. So that way, when you put songs
- 21:32Speaker 3: on that I enjoy, I repost them because I truly
- 21:35Speaker 3: enjoy them. And then you know, you make some songs
- 21:37Speaker 3: out of love and I tell you the truth, like
- 21:39Speaker 3: I'm like, that's not one of the.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Songs I love. And the funny thing too, is like
- 21:44Speaker 1: I've seen.
- 21:45Speaker 2: How people react to like other artists, like when somebody
- 21:48Speaker 2: tells them they don't rock with something, or even artists
- 21:50Speaker 2: that I know, if I tell them I'm don'na rock
- 21:52Speaker 2: with something, the way they react and stuff, and it's like, Bro,
- 21:54Speaker 2: everybody's not gonna like everything.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Bro, Like it's not.
- 21:57Speaker 3: If I was being fake, I'd reap every single thing
- 22:01Speaker 3: you did. But I repost my favorite ones and there's
- 22:03Speaker 3: a lot of them, and as.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Simple as that. And if the other people who I follow.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Who make music make music that I really really like,
- 22:11Speaker 3: I'll repost it. But if you make something and I'm like,
- 22:15Speaker 3: that's not really up up my aliao. It's not something
- 22:18Speaker 3: I reposted just because you're a friend and I've known you.
- 22:20Speaker 3: I'm just that's not part of the content I repost.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I feel like people have to take the challenge of
- 22:25Speaker 2: breaking through. That's the thing that people don't like to do.
- 22:28Speaker 2: They don't like to take the challenge of breaking through
- 22:31Speaker 2: and like making people feel what they're doing, you know
- 22:34Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I've been doing podcasts, you know now us we've been
- 22:37Speaker 3: doing what we're going on three years, four years now, Yeah,
- 22:40Speaker 3: something like that, right, And then I did it for
- 22:43Speaker 3: myself back in twenty seventeen for a year. None of
- 22:47Speaker 3: my closest friends watch or reposters, and I.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Just don't talk to them about it. Yeah, exactly, exactly.
- 22:53Speaker 3: And I have other friends who watch repost comment those
- 22:56Speaker 3: are the people who I'm engaging with for this.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Bro.
- 23:00Speaker 2: There'd be certain people that I pull up on them
- 23:02Speaker 2: and they just want to talk to me about different
- 23:04Speaker 2: clips that they've seen, and then you posted this, yeah,
- 23:07Speaker 2: and I think that, like and it's like, bro, like
- 23:09Speaker 2: they just want to talk about that the whole time,
- 23:11Speaker 2: and the same.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Like you said, you talk to somebody and they'll bring.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Something up that you like, Dan, you don't you really
- 23:17Speaker 2: don't keep anything that they're doing.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Is like we did that already, whatever the case is,
- 23:21Speaker 1: you know what I.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Mean, Like you should talk Oh you talk about like this, man,
- 23:25Speaker 3: the one time you should talk about this, Like yeah,
- 23:27Speaker 3: we've had like four or five episodes about that already.
- 23:29Speaker 3: But facts, I appreciate the input. And it's funny, man.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Just just like anything else in life, bro, Like you
- 23:38Speaker 2: do what you do, like and keep it, keep it
- 23:41Speaker 2: pushing for the people you do it for, and like
- 23:43Speaker 2: have a clear vision and you just do that and
- 23:45Speaker 2: that's it.
- 23:45Speaker 3: That does the same thing in life too. You know,
- 23:48Speaker 3: I'm going through a phase. I'm reevaluating a lot of
- 23:51Speaker 3: habits you know that I've developed over time, you know,
- 23:54Speaker 3: turning forty two. I think every new year you realize
- 23:57Speaker 3: more about yourself. And I tell my wife all the time,
- 24:01Speaker 3: there's certain changes I want to make and certain things
- 24:04Speaker 3: I want to do that there's I know, the people
- 24:06Speaker 3: that I don't want to talk to about. Yeah, you
- 24:08Speaker 3: know they don't they're not going to understand this. They
- 24:12Speaker 3: don't view it like that. So I'm just not going
- 24:15Speaker 3: to voice these changes in this approach that I'm taking
- 24:18Speaker 3: to things. So it's not like I'm hiding it from
- 24:21Speaker 3: people on the line. But there's some things that I
- 24:24Speaker 3: can't I know, I can't talk to certain people about
- 24:26Speaker 3: and if we bring it up, we bring it up.
- 24:28Speaker 3: But there's certain people like I won't bother talking to
- 24:30Speaker 3: them about certain topics.
- 24:32Speaker 1: You know, it'd be crazy sometimes, like.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Just like when you see certain things in people whereas
- 24:38Speaker 2: like it's destructive and you just see that they're dedicated
- 24:42Speaker 2: to never addressing it.
- 24:43Speaker 1: And then it's like once you start like.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Realizing that and like getting past all that stuff, because like, man,
- 24:50Speaker 2: I always been the type of person that feels like
- 24:53Speaker 2: problems just like most of the time problems you create them,
- 24:57Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. Obviously, life throws you this
- 24:59Speaker 2: and that, but like if you're operating at a level where.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Like you're on a good path, you can.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Handle your problems because they're never going to be to
- 25:08Speaker 2: that degree that you can't handle it because you're living right,
- 25:12Speaker 2: you feel what I'm saying, Like the people that get
- 25:14Speaker 2: the crazy problems, crazy problems come from from acting crazy.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, what I'm saying, Like, you.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Don't get it, Like somebody that's just like, you know,
- 25:23Speaker 2: going to and like just for example, somebody that's going
- 25:26Speaker 2: straight to them from work is not getting like a
- 25:29Speaker 2: stalker chick or something. The person who's getting a stocker
- 25:32Speaker 2: chick is the one that entertained them on the.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Sw Oh yeah, you know what I'm saying, Like.
- 25:36Speaker 2: You can't you can't be half into something and then
- 25:39Speaker 2: it starts going off the rails and you're like, whoa.
- 25:42Speaker 1: This is not what I'm on. You know what I mean?
- 25:44Speaker 1: Like that's what that is what you're on.
- 25:45Speaker 2: You just got the consequence of what you on and
- 25:48Speaker 2: you didn't like it, you know what I'm saying.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Yeah, like life experiences too, right, Like, if there's something
- 25:55Speaker 3: that I think is an issue, it's probably because I
- 25:58Speaker 3: went through life experience since that made it an issue.
- 26:01Speaker 3: And other people have never gone through that, so they
- 26:03Speaker 3: don't they're like, what's wrong with that? You know, there's
- 26:05Speaker 3: nothing wrong with that. But to me, the way I
- 26:09Speaker 3: look at it and what I've been through, I'm like, nah,
- 26:11Speaker 3: this is.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Something that I got to fix about myself.
- 26:13Speaker 3: I got to change it by myself, you know, make
- 26:15Speaker 3: better about myself just to be a better person for me,
- 26:18Speaker 3: for my wife, my friends, my family. And that's the
- 26:22Speaker 3: kind of mindset that, like I said, as I get older,
- 26:24Speaker 3: I'm starting to believe more, yeah, in facts, because I
- 26:27Speaker 3: could say this ten years ago. I didn't believe it,
- 26:29Speaker 3: but now I'm starting to believe more.
- 26:30Speaker 2: I'm big on, like I'm not big on advice, but
- 26:33Speaker 2: I'm big on like telling people to.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Like listen to that right part inside. You know what
- 26:39Speaker 1: I'm saying, Just.
- 26:40Speaker 2: The way people operate is like all you gotta do
- 26:44Speaker 2: is listen to that voice in your head and listen
- 26:48Speaker 2: to it, like genuinely listen to it, and you be
- 26:50Speaker 2: all right, Like I can. I don't, like I said,
- 26:52Speaker 2: I don't like giving advice. Everybody is so different, everybody
- 26:54Speaker 2: different habits, everything is like all over the place. But
- 26:56Speaker 2: it's like the one thing I know is like just
- 27:00Speaker 2: listen to reason, bro, Like if you listen to reason,
- 27:03Speaker 2: you're gonna be all right. You know what you shouldn't
- 27:04Speaker 2: be doing, Like it's like everybody knows it.
- 27:07Speaker 3: You know it's not good for you exactly, bro. So
- 27:09Speaker 3: it's not what people shouldn't be doing.
- 27:12Speaker 1: You need to know what's.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Not good for you exactly, and if it's not good
- 27:15Speaker 3: for you, work on ways to improve. For example, like
- 27:18Speaker 3: we'll kind of wrap up with this.
- 27:20Speaker 1: All of a sudden.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Lately, like a big thing has been like weed talk,
- 27:23Speaker 2: like people saying they stop they stop smoking weed, and
- 27:25Speaker 2: their life has improved drastically, this, this and that, and
- 27:27Speaker 2: it's like cool, that's cool for you, you know what
- 27:30Speaker 2: I'm saying. But it's like somebody like me that I
- 27:32Speaker 2: started smoking because of like a physical pain type thing.
- 27:36Speaker 1: It's not the same as what you're talking about. You're
- 27:39Speaker 1: talking about your mental dependency.
- 27:41Speaker 2: And how it was affecting you day to day and
- 27:42Speaker 2: you started being lazy, X, Y and.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Z, And that's for me.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Your life has never declined, so there's no need to
- 27:48Speaker 3: improve exactly. So you don't have to find it so
- 27:50Speaker 3: that that cookie cutter option doesn't fit with me.
- 27:53Speaker 2: And you got to just be smart enough to know like, Okay,
- 27:56Speaker 2: am I doing this too much?
- 27:57Speaker 1: Am I not? Like? Know where it's taking you, where
- 28:00Speaker 1: what's happening, And.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Then you can just kind of lead it from Yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 3: you know, I I smoked my whole life and I
- 28:05Speaker 3: stopped because of work.
