- M2: Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Sister Sisters. M1: Welcome back. This morning I posted on Instagram a new series that I'm starting in honor of your honeymoon because what is your official honeymoon countdown? Do you know? M2: Well, as of the release date of this podcast, tomorrow twenty M1: Ha ha ha. M2: tw twenty two days. Twenty one days. M1: Three just over three just over three weeks, you're not even sure? Approximately three weeks. M2: Because I'm confused about the day we're releasing this podcast. Three weeks and I am flying to Olani. It actually feels too soon. I could use another I I wish it was like five or six weeks away. It's coming too fast. M1: I feel like I feel like once it's close, like you'll be really happy. But we're going to definitely do some full Olani episodes coming up. But I also I just started a new series on Instagram, as I said, about like my Olani experience and sort of prepping Mouselit 2, handing things off to Mouselit 2. and I literally like can't wait to see what you think. And if you like the same things as me and stuff. M2: Of your series. M1: No, of Olani. Also, of course, of my series, obviously of my series. M2: I haven't seen the ser I haven't seen the ser I haven't seen the series yet, but I am excited obviously for Olani and we'll be covering a lot more other things happening though. I'm going to Six Flags this coming weekend. Very intro M1: This is like the most random thing. She just told me this. I was like, what? M2: Me, Mouselit Three, a little belated birthday celebration. Me, Mouselit Three, Mouselit J, so our brother's husband, and Mouselit A. the four of us are going. Yeah, and there's an ice cream place right across that we love. It's Six Flags. Great escape. M1: Great escape. M2: It's in the it's like like George M1: But are there M2: ish. M1: are there multiple six flags great escapes or is this like the only how does that work? M2: It's being sold in a year. I don't think it's gonna be six flags in like a year or two. Did you hear that? M1: No, who is it being sold to? M2: Are you up t Cedar Point, perhaps? no. M1: hm, okay. M2: I have no idea. Okay, in nineteen eighty three the park changed its name from Storytown USA to the Great Escape Fun Park. M1: I guess it's ch change its name. M2: No update on on March fifth it was announced that Six Flags Great Escape will be sold to EPR. M1: All right. I have no idea what that means, but I can't believe you're doing that. M2: Enchanted Parks. M1: the reason that I am not going, CC Running, guys, it's not just that I was excluded. It's that, as I talked a little bit about, I am actually going to Portugal. So tomorrow we will go to my in-laws' house and sleep over there. And then we leave Friday for a week in Portugal. We're going to Porto and Lisbon with my husband's family. And I am so overwhelmed for this trip. First of all. I have a packing list that I keep for the Micklet. And every time we go anywhere, I like clone the packing list. I customize it to that trip. And it makes packing so much easier because I don't really have to think. I just have to like get the stuff. So I was taking the train into New York City the other day. I had like an hour on the train and I said, you know what? I'm finally gonna do it. I'm gonna make a packing list for myself. So I did. I started a packing list for myself so that I can do that for my Disney trips, for this trip. I'm sure it's currently missing things, but like I have the base. And I'm very excited about it. I feel like it's gonna make packing a lot easier because I don't have to think so much. M2: Probably will. M1: however, I am not at all packed and we do have to leave tomorrow. I started packing. I'm doing I'm doing it, but I hate I ha I literally M2: Fulash. Ful. M1: haven't had time. Listen to the sitting on the ground talking Patreon segment if you want to know more about that. but I also am very nervous about the fact that we have to take an overnight flight. It's a 9 40 p.m. flight, landing at 9 a.m. So I have to sleep. And so does the Micklet. And he doesn't have his own seat. Okay. M2: Can you get one of those little bassinets that can stick on the wall? M1: Here's the thing. I requested it. And the only person I could get through to was an AI thing. And if the only the only person I could get through to, M2: The only person the only person I could get through to M1: the only, I don't even know what you would call it, I could get through to was an AI thing. And if people have booked the seats, if you don't know on international flights, in like the first row of economy, you can hook a bassinet into the wall that's in front of you. And if people who don't need the bassinet book those seats, they're supposed to be bumped. To different seats if someone needs the bassinet. But the stupid AI thing like wasn't smart enough to figure that out. And it was like, well, someone's in those seats. And I was like, M2: Did you try calling? M1: well, no. M2: Why didn't you honestly should have just paid for the Micklet to have a seat in his car seat? M1: was so expensive. It was so expensive. So here's what I'm doing. Here's what I'm doing. M2: Yeah. Well welcome you're gonna have the worst night's sleep of your life. M1: The seat next to us is still empty. So I am bringing the car seat through security with us. I'm gonna go to the counter. I'm gonna say, number one, can we get a bassinet? If the answer is no, I'm gonna say, okay, we have a car seat with us. It can we be put in a row where there's an extra seat and we can use the car seat. If they say no, I'll gate check the car seat, which is free. And then I'll just be tortured holding the micklet all night and I don't even know what we're gonna do. M2: And that and that's on you. all this to say though that next week Mouse Lit One will not be here. And either Mouse Lit Three or Mouse Let A will be joining. So stay tuned for that. Always fun to have a little guest. so that's gonna be very exciting. the final thing wanted to chit-chat about quick is that last week we did a whole deep dive on the Society of Explorers and Adventurers and how Disney Imagineering is doing a s you call it a scavenger hunt, a clue all these clues basically. To find out who stole this artifact and the latest clue is here. So I'm going to read it. I seek not riches, fortune, nor fame. And you guys can see if you figure it out. It took me a long time. So I seek true adventure and to redeem my name. I'll prove to you on one of the greats. I'll write this wrong, create my own fate. But I digress. Let me deal you in as you look for a letter I play to win. Search the frontier where the spirits thunder, where Hubris grows as greedy men plunder. I've left for you a card behind. Look up at the entrance to a mine. M1: Okay, I don't we haven't discussed this one yet. We've been waiting for the podcast. Did I get it right? I linked an image in here. it didn't work. there. are you sure? M2: that is not at all what I thought no, you didn't. Why did you choose a pirate's mine? M1: Plunder Greedy Men plunder. M2: No, no, no. That's what Thunder Mountain is about, like greedy miners. M1: I thought it was the mine on the pirate's lair at Tom Sawyer Island. M2: But where what did you think the mit the letter was? M1: 'cause I'm looking for a letter in this riddle. M2: Right. What what did you think the letter was? M1: I guess D. guys, I thought it was there's a mine in the pirates lair in Tom Sweyer Island or whatever. And if you look up there's a big sign that says Dead Man's Grotto. So I thought it was the D in Dead Man's Grotto. M2: Okay, so when you're waiting, here's what I think it is. When you're waiting, you're going to the Thunder Mountain entrance, there's a sign that's like a s a like warning sign. On the back of that sign is a card, a playing card that's the ace of clubs. And I think it's an A for ace. M1: Hmm. Probably that's right. The plundering, the M2: That's but but I haven't seen anyone solve it yet. I even joined a group and haven't seen anyone solve it, so M1: The plundering really threw me, I guess. M2: yeah, I think it did. Okay, shall we get into the main episode? M1: Wait, no, how dare you try and skip my huge update? Everyone watching on video rejoice. Because something is appeared behind me. M2: Re choice and be glad. Blessed are they. Your gallery M1: Something has appeared behind me. And it's a gallery wall. M2: wall is hung up. I you know why? Because I said just hang it up. You can move things around later. I'm sure you will, but it's good to just have it up. So it looks good. Congratulations. M1: I'm so happy. I'm so happy that it's up. Also, the way that my Olaf picture was positioned before, the little spurts coming out of his head would always come look like they were coming out of my head. And so now it's like it's up. And I'm so happy. I feel so much better. I literally like checked that off my list. Okay, now we can get into some news. M2: Who's running the show? M1: because we hit the button at the same time. M2: Same time. Okay. We have a little media board and we both should really shouldn't have access M1: Thank you. M2: to it. okay, decent amount of news, honestly. Just wait till the very last one. Just you wait until the last piece of news. You won't believe what it is. Breaking M1: No guys, you're gonna no, you're gonna love it for real. M2: Disney news, but I'll start with the other stuff. the passageway between Carsland and Avengers campus is open. If you watched our Disneyland vlog, you know that this was a big pain point for us. If you didn't go watch it, honestly, it was a lot of fun. But there are new bathrooms there as well. Mostly it's just like this key path is open. I'll be at Disneyland in four weeks. So like thank God because I need to use that path. And I'll obviously try those bathrooms. So that's very exciting. M1: For people who aren't familiar with Disneyland, picture being in Tomorrowland and wanting to walk by the Tomorrowland Speedway to go to the teacups, and that was closed. And you had to go all the way back out of Tomorrowland and loop around to Fantasyland. It was just like so annoying. And that's what was happening in Carsland and Avengers campus. So big win. There also is a lot of random restaurant news. So the Wolfgang Puck bar and grill in Disney Springs is gonna close permanently in September. M2: Why? I'm sick. M1: That's like the one place that we've ever eaten at Disney Springs. M2: You know why? You know why they didn't have a single vegan option on their menu. M1: And I'm sure that's why they're closing, yes. So they're closing. Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club reopened. When it was announced that that was gonna be refurbished. I, for one, Carly Weisell for another, probably others as well, were worried that they were gonna kind of like change the vibe of it when it's like kind of an iconic look. it seems like they didn't really visually change anything, so I'm not a hundred percent sure why it was closed so long. They obviously must have done something. But there are two new menu items. I one of them is just another steak. But the other one I wrote, well mouse let two go now. The menu item, tell me this entices you. Black garlic black garlic fettuccine, M2: I already read it, my mouth was salivating earlier when we were talking. M1: house made fettuccine, seared baby squash, heirloom cherry tomatoes, mushroom, a word I can't say, conserva, and creamy black gar ple creamy black garlic sauce. M2: Conserva. Yeah. I would go. It sounds really good. I'll say it. It sounds amazing. We're staying at the boardwalk in November. Maybe we pop over. M1: Honestly, we should it's good. and then the turf club, which is a restaurant at Saratoga Springs that we have never been to and I had actually never even seen inside. But it real No, you're not thinking you have the right place. M2: What? We've been in there many times and you have. We haven't no, we haven't eaten there, but we've been in there. M1: Why would we have been in there? M2: We've walked through there many times to check it out. I have like tons of videos of it. There's a lot of lore there. M1: Okay guys, well it's reopened after a remodel. It looks nice to me. It has like it it looks fresh in there. They added a new bar area. You don't like it? M2: No, okay. Here's what I gotta say about the turf club because I like the the lore of it, but my thought of the turf club is like do we need this to be called the turf club and be like unthemed? Like of one place to bring in some intellectual property and sort of like do something. This place is like not I get it's for the golfers. Okay, that's what it's for, and that's like the M1: It's for gol it's for golfers. M2: clubhouse. But like this br give Saratoga Springs a restaurant. I don't know. I don't know. I'll have to try it. I'll M1: It's just for golfers. But they do have a new menu. M2: have to try it for myself when we stay at Saratoga Springs in December. M1: they do have a new menu and I will say I'm enticed. M2: Couple of other things. Mickey's House of Scary Halloween party didn't sell out on August 30th, the first time in years. This is gonna you know what? Hold our tongue on this, because we'll be talking about M1: I'm sad for them. I hope this lights a fire. Yes. M2: this later on. some Walt Disney World 55th anniversary merch has started to roll out. That's wild. Isn't that M1: I know. M2: anniversary like that's insane? It feels like it was the 50th, like two days ago. And M1: I know. Disney, like, in my opinion, I think Disney leans a little too much into anniversaries that aren't that important. Fifty-fifth anniversary is kind of like, okay. M2: Okay, wait. This in 2019, my company my office, no offense to the people of my office who plan this, but well, I was one of them actually, had this huge party to celebrate our 65th anniversary. And it was just like a very and I have like branded things that say that. And it was just like it always felt very random to me. And this 55th thing gives that. I'm like, at least M1: Yes, yes. Like M2: if you're celebrating like the even year, 75, like 55. M1: Yeah. No, seventy five is b fifty is obviously huge. Seventy five is still big. Even like when Disneyland did their sixtieth and it's like the diamond celebration, I'm like M2: No, sixty work, seventy, eighty, those work. M1: 55th, I'm like, and it makes Disney have an anniversary of something every year. The Walt Disney Company, Disney 100 for the Walt Disney Company, Walt Disney World, Disneyland. Yes. I'm like and it's M2: Caught is a year after. It's just like Jeepers creepers. M1: like a merch opportunity and I understand, but I'm like, it's too much. It's it it makes it less special, especially when we have a 50th anniversary like we did at Walt Disney World, which didn't even have that much stuff. Like it makes it less special because it's constant. okay, my last M2: This last piece of news, drum roll. Is there a drum roll here? No, yes, there is. M1: Michael Bublet, singer Michael Bublet, and his family set sail on the Disney Treasure. Are you excited? Okay, M2: Crickets. M1: guys, Papa Mouselet. No, no. Papa Mouselit loves Michael Bublet. And so I said, M2: I love Michael Buble, but M1: this is exciting news. He was on the Disney Treasure, our favorite ship. M2: I love Michael Bublet and Michael, if you're listening, I need you to know that. But what I do have to say is that do so few celebrities cruise on Disney cruise ships that that is news. M1: I also didn't put this piece of news in, but I do just want everyone to know in case they're wondering, the All-Star Sports Pool Bar will be closing soon for refurbishment. M2: Okay. You are like literally the nothing is worse than the bellhops getting new costumes, M1: Ha ha ha. M2: but you're close. And with that, I as ever no one's listening anymore. I guess we'll get into the main segment. It's just the two of us, yapping now. Things that Disney that deserve a second chance. That is our topic today. We thought about things that were just like we sort of written off or people, not just us, but like people write off. And it's just like, you know, no. I'm like, you know what? Give this a second chance. And we're gonna tell you why they deserve That is our topic. M1: And yeah, we're sort of gonna be pitching them to you slash to each other to see. And I'll start. I think my first one, honestly, is really fair. My first thing that deserves a second chance are turkey legs. Guys, M2: Holy frick seriously? M1: one no listen. No. M2: I'm gonna let the entire boo run. M1: One time. Literally only like one time when I was with my friends on spring break in college. We split a turkey leg, and it was actually really good. And also, I feel like turkey legs are so associated with Disney, but I actually like literally don't know where they're sold. They're sold at her headphones are off, guys. Her headphones are off, so she cannot hear me. Pitch turkey legs. That is unacceptable. Listen, guys, M2: Are you done? M1: no. I don't even know where turkey legs are truly sold. I got mine at Tortuga Tavern, but that's not always open. I feel like turkey M2: There I know where they're told. Across from the country we're jamboree. How do you not know that? There's always people honking on a giant, disgusting turkey leg. And don't I'm gonna have butchered animals, tortured, butchered animals. And you're talking about turkey legs. M1: I just feel like turkey legs are there's stop. Children, listen to this. Stop. I think I think that there's like turkey legs are so associated with Disney, but I think most people haven't tried a turkey leg and it actually was really good. And I need to get one again. I M2: Wow. M1: need to give it a second chance in terms of how much I enjoyed it the first time. And you all need to give it a second chance because it actually is good and it's not gross, unless you're like mouse lit too. M2: That's like the biggest no I've ever, ever thought about. okay, I'll start. Nothing to do. This is sort of a different direction. M1: Yeah. M2: The transportation and ticket center. Hear me out. Hear me out. No, no, no. Hear me M1: no. Nope. I'm all M2: out. M1: There's nowhere I hate more M2: Here M1: on Disney property. M2: no, you know what? Hear me out though. We have built the T T C up to be this so much that we'll rent a car, we'll minivan to Magic Kingdom. Okay. We'll do like M1: We'll pay like fifty dollars to skip the T T C. M2: we've built this up in our head to be the absolute worst place ever. And like at the end of the day, no, stop shaking your head. We d we could take a Disney bus also. I feel like we're forgetting the fact. I don't know if the minivan thing isn't valid. We can take it to I don't know why we do that. We don't want to wait for the bus. We missed it. actually, very rarely would we ever even need to go to the TTC. It's like when we have a car in another park and we need to drive over there. This is like a kind of a niche thing. My God, just park at the TTC people. Everyone with their parking hacks trying to go somewhere else. It's more stressful to try to do something like that. It's not that bad. You get M1: It is. M2: to have a beautiful ferry ride, no, or a monorail ride. It's the quintessential Magic Kingdom experience and everyone needs to chill out. It's not that bad. Also, Disney, if you're listening, I have some thoughts on how you could redo that and make it more aesthetically appealing. Planting a singular plant would be a good starting point. Too much concrete. M1: I mean it's literally like a concrete jungle. It takes here's the thing. In Disney, time is money. M2: Concrete jungle where dreams are made us. M1: And I do not have time to be spending like 30 minut okay. She's coughing. She just drank water and she's coughing nonstop. I don't have like 30 minutes on my Disney trip. She's like literally joking. I'm sorry, I'm so distracted. Okay. I don't have 30 minutes on my Disney trip to be as we call it. dinking around the TTC. Like I okay, are you okay? Okay. Okay. M2: I like took a sip of water and it went totally down the wrong pipe. M1: I don't have 30 minutes on my Disney trip to spend dinking around the TTC. Probably more than 30 minutes, honestly. That whole process just takes so M2: No, no, you know what? M1: long. M2: It's not that bad and we all need to just grow up and start using the T T C. So that was my first pick. M1: Okay, my next pick is a ride that I ride so hard for. And everybody knows this about me, but you all M2: Tomorrow let's speedway. M1: do not. And it's called the Tomorrowland Speedway. Speedway stands unite. I love M2: Being withstands you M1: the Tomorland Speedway. I love an interactive experience. It's so fun. It's very quintessential to me. People hate on it because of the smell, which once you're like actually, it just isn't that bad to me. Like, I'm sorry. It's yeah, like M2: I love the smell. I actually love the smell. M1: It's not, it's like completely fine. The only thing I'll say about the speedway is if it's like blazing hot, it is like, okay, maybe then it's a skip. But other than that, the speedway is fun. M2: The Speedway, a very Merry Christmas party, is M1: Is amazing. M2: my favorite thing. It is so, so, so, so, so fun. We're not gonna be doing it this year, but it's wait, is there a Christmas M1: It's no. I wish they had that all the time. M2: party before our cruise on one of those nights? M1: maybe. We're only there one night, so it would be that one night. We should cook. M2: I'm gonna be there a couple of nights, I think. Okay, M1: Nope. M2: we'll talk about this later. I agree. I think the speedway gets a bad reputation. On the on the same side though, like, should it be updated? It should probably, right? It needs a little bit of like a little futuristic, it needs to be brought into the times a tad bit, but I do think that people need to kind of give it another chance. So M1: It does need an update, but that doesn't mean it should be neglected right now and people write it off as a skip. M2: It is true. Okay. This next one, this is kind of an interesting one for me. This is a place that we used to go stop planning trips without me. Mouse that one just texted me to stop planning trips M1: Yeah. M2: without her. Okay. Unhinged. You're going on that trip. literally, you're crazy for that. Like tutor Italia. Tuto Italia. At Epcot. We used to go there as kids a lot. We rarely go there. And you know what? The one time we did go there recently, I remember not being wowed and being like, that was okay. But M1: Yeah. M2: I do feel like it's kind of a vibe there. I didn't love the room we were in that time, but like there's a carpeted area and I love a carpet and a restaurant. It makes it easier to hear, more cozy, more comfortable. I don't know. I feel like we should give it another shot. Like I I think it's a fun spot. Maybe on a trip that doesn't have mouse at sea, because he's not like huge on Italian and I just like I think mediocre Italian would disappoint him even more. But like I want to try it. I cause I think it could be good. And I feel like I don't really hear people talk about this one that much. M1: I think for us in particular, it's overshadowed by Viennapoly. We're such huge Viennapolers. It's so affordable. M2: Yeah. M1: There's that amazing carpeted room in the back that, like, we just always gravitate there. And yeah, we did go when we were in like a weird, not weird, but like a wine celery room. And it just like wasn't M2: Yeah. M1: the same vibe, I feel like, as the rest of the restaurant. We were kind of like, meh. but I agree. We should actually give that another, another try. M2: Yeah, she'll try it again. So that was my number two. M1: Okay, my number three. This is like for the general population. People are so obsessed with Mickey bars, which are so mediocre. And people like aren't into Mickey ice cream sandwiches, which are so much better. And so I'm imploring M2: Preached. Yeah. M1: everyone, next time you're in the mood for a Mickey Bar, a meh Mickey Bar, why don't you give an ice cream sandwich a try? And you'll be wowed at how much better it is than plain vanilla ice cream. M2: It's like Mickey bars are just not like first off, you take a bite into it and like a big chunk of the chocolate just falls on the ground. The whole thing cracks, like cracks M1: The whole thing cracks. It cracks. You can't eat it. M2: and falls. You can't eat it. It's a mess. It's melting. Whereas a Mickey Bar is like a delicacy. It's actually M1: Mickey ice cream sandwich, yes. M2: that's what I meant. Yeah, Mickey ice cream sandwich. I absolutely agree with that. And you M1: It's M2: know what? To those listening, why do you prefer Mickey Bar? I don't understand it. M1: No, seriously, a Mickey Bar is vanilla ice cream, which is like everyone's least favorite. I actually like vanilla, but like everyone's least favorite with chocolate. M2: It's just the messiness and the fact that you take a bite and the whole thing drops. I hate things that are fragile. You know M1: And it's nothing s yes, me M2: that about me. M1: an ice cream sandwich is like a cookies and cream ice cream and like the sandwich part ha it doesn't like crack everywhere. It's so much better. Everyone give it a second try because you're gonna prefer it. M2: Yeah, you will. Okay, my next one, Disney Photo Pass. We scorned and scoffed at PhotoPass for a while just because the cameras kind of stunk. And it I get it for like people capturing memories who used it then, but they've upgraded the cameras and they are like professional cameras now. And I have memory maker on my annual pass. You can get all the ride pictures, which honestly is just fun. Like it just makes it we don't do anything with them. Have we posted a ride photo in five, six, seven years? M1: No. M2: No. However, It's just fun to get them and to do something silly and we like to think of poses. And we'll just take some quick pictures with a photo pass photographer. You can get some pretty good ones. And especially on trips with like our family when we're not gonna get all of us together. I really like it. And it's not I'm gonna say like for an annual pass for me, it was like a hundred dollars to add on or something. I I know it is kind of expensive, but like if you're someone who has an annual pass, I would consider doing the add-on. If you're someone on like a trip, price it out because you know, you have to make sure you're using it. But I've really, really enjoyed having it. And I feel like a lot of people are just like, No, but it has been good. M1: Especially if you're one of those people who like your mom is never in the picture or something because she's always the one taking the photo. And you really want to prioritize like full family pictures. It is really nice. And I will say, I was like the biggest photo pass hater for a long time. If you don't know, their old cameras just like weren't that good. Like they were fine. The picture was crisp and stuff. I just didn't like the way the flash made you look with that particular camera, like personal preference. But they have now upgraded their cameras. And I find the pictures to be so much better quality and it is such a nice option. So often you'll see a photo pass cast member just standing there and you can walk up and grab a pick. M2: It's a hundred and eighty five dollars for your trip. Yes. M1: Woof Woof Woof I do think that's a little bit steep. It's only ninety nine for an annual pass for a whole year and it's $185 for one trip. M2: I'm not don't quote me on the 99. because it's like rolled into my annual pass costs, but it's definitely not $185. But if I was to say you're going on a trip with a family of four and your tickets in someone is starting to I'm convinced you're going on a trip with your family of four and your ticket per person is you're going like eight days, whatever. Okay. And your ticket per person is five hundred dollars. And I said, Okay, it's now five hundred and forty-six dollars. Would you be like, no, that would get you, I don't know. I'm in a sort of The I'm sort of unselling myself. But like I do think that their value could be there if you have an annual pass or you're going or or you really would use it a lot. But it was a hundred and nine dollars to add to my annual pass, I guess. M1: I'm surprised it's so much for a trip, I have to say. I do think it's a good service, but if you're gonna pay that much, like really sort of be using it. M2: But why are actually like why why? Why is it that much? M1: I I don't know. I guess they've probably tested it and M2: Wouldn't they get more people to buy it if it was 99 bucks? I don't know. I I really enjoy having it, but that is sort of a lot. So think about if you would use it. But like as I wish that we had had it when we were kids, because Mama Mouse and Papa Mouse would have been the pictures together. And M1: Yes. M2: Mama Mouse took like all the pictures. So like I think that situation would make it worth it. M1: I agree. Okay. My next one. I think that there are certain things at Disney that just get like overlooked. It's kind of like it's not a main attraction. And so it just you've never done it and so you don't. And I think one of those is the awesome planet show at the Land Pavilion at Epcot. It's not really a show, it's a movie. But it is so good. I like cry when I watch that movie. It's like a M2: I want to change the world. M1: No, same. It's amazing. It's narrated by Ty Burel, who was the dad in Modern Family, Phil. M2: Phil Dunfey. M1: Yeah, Phil in Modern Family. And if you don't know in Modern Family, he was a realtor. That was like kind of his whole thing. And so Awesome Planet is a show that it's kind of pretending that like a realtor is selling you Earth. That's kind of like the way it's framed. But it is so inspiring, like about our planet and about humans, about how humans affect the planet. It's so well done and it's such a random thing. I feel like so many people never see it or they like literally go in there to like take a nap, but it's actually amazing. M2: It r Ep Epcot has a lot of these. And honestly, like think I don't really know if there's much from Epcot that made my list, but this is a really good one because it runs pretty frequently. You don't really have to wait. I mean, like you might have for the next show, but you can pop in, get a break with AC, relax. Pop on Mama Mouse that really like it. They've been multiple times. Sometimes they sleep. It's yeah, it's really good. And it's just like an easy thing that I feel like people don't really think about. So M1: No, and like you're learning stuff, but like in a cool way. Like literally you'll leave being like, wow, like we're gonna save our planet. Like the earth is amazing. Like it's so inspiring. It's literally one of the most like inspirational M2: It is, it really is. M1: things at Disney. I love it. M2: Okay. I'll I'll do an ep cut one just to stick with the theme that I just thought of as you were talking about that, which is the Pixar Short Film Festival. Because okay, my if you don't know where that is, it's over by the Imagination Pavilion. it's useful to meet Mickey in that lobby. My beef with it is that they don't rotate the movies and they should. They don't often. But if M1: They never have. They never have. M2: I think they swapped out potentially they might have swapped out one potentially at some point, but wasn't Bao used to be in there? I'm not sure. But I when we go infrequently. So if you're someone who goes like once a year, pop in there every so often. It's actually cute. It's well done. The theater there is cool because it has like a like a 4D theater, like the ground shakes and things happen. I always enjoy it. Like I don't feel the need to go for a while because I feel like I've seen them so many times. Again, that's my beef. Swap them out. Like Disney, you own these things, so swap them. But it is really fun. And I again I think it's a thing that is so overlooked. But if you haven't been, like, Definitely go. If you've been like once, I would say go again. But M1: Yeah, there's one in particular, the first one. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but it's like a classic Mickey thing. But they do M2: Wait. that one, yeah, I like that one a lot. M1: like very much like lean into kind of like the 4D-ness of that theater in such a cool way. That one alone, I think, is worth going for. The other two are cute too. I do agree. I think they should keep the first one, like it's kind of a staple, but the other two, like, they should just swap out. I I really don't actually know why they don't. But M2: I think it's like three they would have to do some work to make him three D and stuff. I don't know, but they should. M1: I guess. But it is a very fun. It's very fun. I agree. Give it a second chance, M2: Yeah. Thank you. M1: people. okay, my next one. This is a favorite of mine in Mouselit 2's. And I feel like people like it, but I just don't think that everyone appreciates appreciates it fully the way that we do, which is Buzzlet, your Space Ranger spin. One of our only M2: my god, wait, wait. As I was making my list, I made I was making muscle A. I said, Name thing do hate at Disney to try to get inspiration. She goes, Well, number one, buzz light your space ranger spin. Number two, the Tomorrowland Speedway. Continue. M1: That is so rude. Two of my favorite rides. Buzz Light Your Space Ranger spin for us is one of the only things that I would say we do every trip. Because we take so many trips, we will skip things. You know, like if the line is long, if we can't get a lightning lane, whatever. But buzz is like a must. And especially now that they have updated the targets. If you're like Mouse Leda and you didn't like the old buzz because it was like hard to. You know, you weren't that good at it, maybe Melsa, you weren't that good at it. And like it was hard to like hit the targets. The new one is amazing and you will be so much better at it because it's so much easier and more intuitive and like a really, really, really fun way. Guys, Malsa too and I are like obsessed with it. We got off of it and we were like scrounging around trying to figure out how we could ride it again. M2: When we were so the ranking, you know, our Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom one used to be, you know, a little crusty. It's sort of the word of the the new word of the word of the year on the podcast. The Disneyland one, we're always like, Disneyland is the crown jewel. Like it is the example. Disneyland Paris, I would say the same thing. my God, no. Disneyland's is so crusty compared to now the Magic Kingdom one. It's like night and day. I want to ride it right now. M1: It's so technologically advanced. Me too. It's so, so, so it's no same. M2: I'm like have to actually. Like I have to write it right now. M1: It's so fun, guys. Like, I can't even express to you how fun it is. If you have not ridden this ride in a while, if you were a hater like Mouse Leday, if you are Mouse Leday, you have to give this ride a second chance. Okay. M2: Ha. M1: You have to. It's amazing. M2: I'll stick with the Magic Kingdom theme. I need you to not speak while I talk about this one. Because I need to just sort of Okay. Storybook circus. Yes. Don't I think we all need to give Storybook Circus another chance. I understand that they took our beloved Toontown away. Get that out of your mind. Look at no, M1: And they put nothing in its place. Nothing. M2: no, no. Look at what is there now and what we have to enjoy. Okay. First off, Storybook Treats, the big the big top circus. That whole area, just I don't think it's actually Storybook Treats, put that out of your head, but big top circus. Ignore ignore that part of it. But big top M1: It's absolutely n yeah, it's I was gonna say it's not storybook treats M2: circus thing just reopened. They have more seating in there. I don't know if I support that, but they have different snacks, which seem really fun. The sh that's one of my favorite stores in Magic Kingdom. M1: Would you like to talk about one of the snacks they just added, actually, as a little aside? M2: You know what? Someone just did a ranking of that and said it was one of the best things they had. I don't remember who it was, but yeah, it's M1: Explain to the people what the snack is. M2: it's app dil apple slices with caramel and sprinkles and dipping sauces. M1: And like animal crackers. It looks like they took random it looks it looks M2: Yeah. And and Mouse said that's a one of her must do's. That's a must do for her. M1: like they took random like leftover items they had from other snacks and said, What can we sort of put together on a s little snack plate? Okay, continue selling me. M2: No, okay, but so that is my favorite store, I think, in the Magic Kingdom. Probably maybe the Tomorrow Lem one, like that store is way better than the Emporium. I love it in there. okay. Also, the Dumbo ride. We rode that with a miklet. I I'll admit it wasn't my pit of the day just because it was so hot. Yes, but I realized how cool it was. M1: Did did you or did you not have a meltdown tantrum right after? M2: I like was in that moment that you get so M1: Yeah. M2: like overheated and overstimulated and I was like, I have to go. And me and Papa Mouse left right after that one back. M1: She had to cut out of the vlog all of that period of time because she was being so foul. M2: I was. Yes, I was. But it's really f I really enjoyed Dumbo overall. Not in the moment of doing that, but in general, I did enjoy Dumbo. But the playground back there is so, so, so cute and it's so much fun. I can't wait for the Micklet to be able to do that playground. People don't remember. Anyone can go do that playground. Okay. Anyone with kids under the age of whatever, like probably twelve or something. M1: There's a playground in the Dumbo Q is what she's talking about. That is cute. M2: And you can yeah, and that's really fun. There's a roller coaster that's great for kids. Kids first roller coaster. It's gonna be the Micklet's first roller coaster, and he's gonna love it. He's M1: Ha ha ha. M2: gonna love it. But also the train station, the hidden details that they have here, the tributes to like Walt's love of trains, all of the fun areas in the splash pad. There's a seating area to just relax in. We could play Lorcana back there. I think that we need to all there's the character meet and greets. Everyone hates Storybook Circus. Specifically, like we sort of give it a bad and like, no, I'm turning this around. The smell of fins on parade. M1: It just like gives nothing. It gives nothing. M2: Yes, it's missing something. Yeah, it's M1: It's the whole left side like these giant tents. It's big top. It's a character. There's not anything back there and it's so much space. M2: Apparently that's what people wanted and they requested that and that's why it was. But you know what? Coming soon to Sister Sisters, a deep dive into storybook circus. M1: Okay. My next one. We're going back to Epcot. Hear me. I think you'll agree with me on this. I think a lot of people won't. But you need to give Mission Space another chance. Okay. M2: one hundred percent. M1: When Mission Space opened, I get it. Guys, Papa Mouse lit rode Mission Space with us once when we were kids. And he got so sick from it, he has never stopped talking about it to this day. Like, I remember that he had to buy a ginger ale in the parks and Papa Mouse lit, like Did not drink soda other than Mountain Dew randomly. He literally, like the thought of him drinking a gingerilla, I literally was like, ooh, dad must be like really sick. M2: They sell ginger rail in the parks? I don't even think they do. Maybe it was from like one of the World Showcase Pavilions. M1: He drank something that was not a Mountain Dew. And I remember, yeah. And I remember being like, ooh. And he has never stopped talking about it. It got such a bad rap. Obviously, there were like whatever. When it first opened, it had a lot of like bad press. I feel like people are just like, no. But number one, the green side doesn't have any G force. Okay, the orange side, like whatever. Okay. If you don't want to do that, fine. The green side, though, there's absolutely no G Force. It's literally turned off. It doesn't move. There's no G Force. And that mission is actually way more fun and way better. That's like the s best hack, I think. The the orange Yeah, so the M2: It's the Earth mission is the green mission. M1: orange side, which is like the side with Ge Force, that mission is like a mission to Mars. And I will say it's a little dated. Like you're you're pressing buttons that don't actually do anything. And like, I don't know, the whole thing of going to Mars, you're just kind of like, it doesn't really feel that real. But the Earth side mission, you're still pressing buttons that don't do anything, but You're going around the world and like you're seeing the earth from above, like different cities lit up at night. It's really actually cool and fun. And like I really like it. We don't do it every time. But if you and M2: But it's like a special treat when we do. M1: every time we do, we're like, that's really fun. If you have not done it before, if you haven't done it in a long time, you don't have to try the orange. Honestly, I'd say skip the orange. Try the green. You're good. No, orange is fine. M2: I don't mind the orange even honestly anymore, but the green is but I prefer the green because of the mission. It's it is really fun. And honestly, we're lovers of space. Love, love, love, love, love space. I think that it feels very, very realistic. Like, yes, in Smugglers Run is more interactive now, but I mean, press the button and it hit the button, it feels real. Like it really, really is fun. So M1: Yes, it's fun. I and like the bad rap that it got makes me sad for everyone who worked so hard on it. One of my like favorite, like random facts is that when they built Mission Space, they said one day humans are gonna go to the moon. Or sorry, go to Mars. And then they've gone to the moon. one day humans really are gonna go to Mars. And then they're gonna need to update this ride to have the mission go somewhere else so people feel like they're still exploring. And so they built the big Mars planet outside mission space out of tiles that can be popped out and changed to new tiles to make it look like a new planet. And they're never gonna have to do that because A, we're never going to Mars. But B, that ride is like not gonna ever get a new iteration because nobody likes it, but they should. Makes me sick. It actually is making me sick. I can't talk about it anymore. M2: I agree. Bring it back. I was about to say I I my next one is like making my stomach turn. I'm so sad for it. This is over at Matt. There's actually two. There's two in this, but I'm I was kind of back and forth. But when Tron opened, there was this little special kiosk. What's it even called? Tron bites. Tron food. M1: my god, I'm so sad already. I can't I almost have to take my like no like energy bites or something. M2: Yeah, energy bites. Okay. This special place opened, and we were like, finally, there's like something like this little special kiosk. And they had like a variety of Futuristic themed things there. And it didn't really have take off that much. We tried all the things there. I will say, like, back when they had the donuts there, they were not like the best thing ever. But then since then, there's been like they've slushies and things. No one goes. There's never anyone there. And it like literally is making it's like making me sick to talk about. And and they've special things there. It's special. M1: No, it makes me sick to think about it. It makes me sick, guys. It makes me sick. Yeah. Disney try like Disney knows there's so many, like, they're literally Disney food only content creators. Magic Kingdom notoriously has terrible food. They put in like a really cool, interesting, different snack stand with these cool things. I'm actually feeling sick to my stomach thinking about how nobody goes there. M2: And because everyone hated it, we are left with an abysmal menu now. The only food with a watermelon, M1: City M2: cucumber, and pineapple cup. Okay. But the more people who get it, the higher the chance that Disney brings something back. There's also assorted fountain beverages. There's also two slushies, which seem delicious and amazing. A delicious watermelon slushie with yuzu M1: Okay, guys. M2: citrus, ginger, and popping candies, and a blue coconut slushie. I will be getting both of those slushies next time we go and the fruit M1: Every yes, everyone M2: cup. M1: needs to start buying those slushies in bulk, okay? Because no, I'm not gonna slushie. No, seriously, guys, M2: If I see any of you go to Magic Kingdom and you don't stop by energy bites, it we're it's done. Don't even. M1: they used to literally have like these futuristic dumplings, these special, like they tried so hard to make this really cool themed food. It makes me sick to my stomach that nobody liked it, nobody bought it. Like, why? M2: Seriously, seriously, seriously. This is some muscle tore. I almost can't this is like not the to M1: What? What M2: Two. M1: Guys, this is like some of the biggest ones on the floor. M2: Auction Our mom went to a silent auction. School and this poor woman bid a service to read a book to come to your house and read you a Doing bedtime story. No one finished. Good. M1: I'm sick. I'm sick. M2: One person series I'm gonna be sick. That one person bid and she had to go home and tell her husband that no one she was the only person who didn't get a bid. M1: Guys. Guys. This happened when Mouse Little Two and I were in elementary school and we still literally cry about it. Some of us. And we said, why would you tell us that? And M2: The fact that mom told us that seriously, it's insane. And that is energy bites. That is energy bites, Mitron, okay? I'm M1: Yeah. M2: gonna have to stop there every time I did it. I have to get all these out of my search history so I don't have look at it. Seriously, the next time you go to Magic Kingdom, if you don't stop an energy bites, I'll lose my freaking mind. I have a horrible headache now. M1: I'm sick to my stomach. my god. my god. Okay. Guys, I literally am sick. I need to move on to something that doesn't make me sick. Okay. That was ultimately that was the ultimate piece of Mouseless Lord. Mouse at 2 and I cry every time we think about that story. M2: Why don't you even do that? M1: The fact that our mom didn't didn't just bit on it so she didn't have to open. I'm sick. I'm sick to my stomach TOAS! M2: Then she t and then she told us about it. Why M1: I'm saying Steve M2: seriously, it's insane. I'll never forgive mom for that. I've literally dreamed, unfortunately that woman has passed now, but I've dreamed of calling her and saying, wait, I'm one. I w M1: I fin Just so she didn't have to live with that horrible pain, it makes me sick. my god. M2: my god. Seriously, I can't talk about this anymore. Please. Okay, I do have no idea. That is like the ultimate piece of mouse that's lore. It's literally it's we always cry every time you know. M1: my god, guys. M2: Next next topic. Next topic. M1: Okay. Okay. Next Okay. Okay, guys, my next M2: Please M1: one. For real. Hang on, hang on, I just pulled my M2: she's blowing her nose because she's I'm texting mom right now. And seriously. M1: Okay. Okay, guys, my next one. We're moving on. Ooh, I hope you guys really enjoyed that. Wow. My next one is a simple one. It doesn't make me want to scream and cry. No, look at- I'm sorry, look at us. Look at us. Because if you're watching that video, we're like our nose are so red. Don't look at us, okay? M2: Don't even. I needed a good cry. I have makeup all over my face. Keep going. Keep wait, keep shooting, keep shooting. I was just saying that earlier today. Toy Story Mania for we. M1: What is that from? okay. My next one is Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. I've definitely talked about this before. I actually think we talked about it in a recent episode, but as we said and sitting on the ground talking, it's actually really hard for us to remember what we have and haven't talked about on the podcast specifically. But Sunshine Seasons, I think it's overlooked at Epcot because there's so much amazing food in the world showcase, which is true. Like there's always a festival. I can't even look at you. Because we both look like look like we've just been sobbing because we were. There's always a festival which has really fun food to try. The restaurants and world showcase are like specific ones that people like trying. And then I feel like if you're going to be eating in the future world area, connections is where people tend to go because connections is like really big and new and it is really, really good. But Sunshine Seasons has really fresh, good food. Like You can get like a roast chicken, which is what I always think of. Like it's just very like fresh and sort of feels a lot cleaner than other theme park food, which I love. The only thing is they do kind of change their menu a lot. It's like not super consistent. But other than that, if you have not tried Sunshine Seasons, I would say like make time for it. I think you would be pleasantly surprised. M2: I think that it has like a little bit of like a crusty vibe in this in the land these M1: No it does, unfortunately. M2: days. And like that is part of sort of the issue. But actually it is even breakfast there, like give it a shot. You just exit Soren and just pop over there and see w see what they have. So that's a good one. M1: Yeah, like the overnight oats, as we've said many times, are one of our absolute favorite things. They don't always have them anymore, but in general, like the food is just very good and it's very overlooked. So give that a sec a second try. M2: Okay, this next one is literally for me and you. And like we're the ones who are not on board, and everyone else M1: Yeah. M2: is. And it's the jungle cruise. And M1: Yeah. M2: like the reason we hate the jungle cruise is because of Papa Mouselet and sort of Mama Mouselit, but mostly Papa Mouselet, that he was like, It's fake animals. Like, why would we ride this? And I don't he's not wrong. You have to get over like M1: And we did and we did not do it as kids. Like, I don't even think it was because he didn't like it. It was just sort of like we were like, What is that? it's a ride with fake animals. Like, man, no, we won't do that. And so we didn't have the nostalgia. And then when we did finally do it, Papa Mouse was like, Boo, that was absolutely horrible. And we were like, we didn't know I think a lot of the lore and we were just kinda like, Yeah, that was dumb. M2: It's funny because like every single ride at Disney other than Kilomidar Safari has fake animals or fake people. They're called animatronics. But M1: But that one for some reason was just like, okay. M2: I mean it is glaring. Here's the thing. I don't like I can't hear a word the skipper is saying. That sound system is M1: my god, yeah. Actually you need no, you need to give it a second chance because every time we're on, guys, she's like, I can't hear. I I just can't hear. I can't hear anything. I'm like M2: I can't hear them. But the lore behind the jungle cruise and being a skipper is yeah, it and it leads into my next one, but I'll let Mouse one go next. But I I think that we need to give that another shot and we need to fully kind of lean into it a little bit more. M1: I agree. My next one, actually, I'll do one that's very related. This one is mostly at you. It's actually not at me, but it is at you. in general, I think people don't like the food at Magic Kingdom because it's really not that good. But we recently tried the Skipper Canteen restaurant. And first of all, to the jet to all of M2: Pause. This was my next one, obviously. M1: I didn't realize that at all. M2: okay. Well keep going. I'll change mine. M1: To all of you listening, there's a secret menu item that's this Brazilian cheese bread. Our friend Nick, the theme park dad, who we actually also were talking about earlier in the sitting on the ground talking Patreon segment. He's the one that told us about it. And it is amazing. I think we said this before, but M2: It's so good. M1: we were on a group trip and they got like two orders for everyone at the table, and people were each like, you know, really picking at it. Me and Mouselit too were literally like nobody was eating it. So we were like, I mean, okay. Yeah, we M2: There were so like it was like people were halfway through their meal. It was like anyone? No. And it just went for it. M1: were like scrounging and feasting on them. They're amazing. So that alone, M2: Obviously. They're really good. M1: yes, is like a reason to go. But also, Malsa too didn't love her entree last time she went. But I want you to specifically to give it a second chance because the lore of that restaurant is so fun. It like makes it worth going. M2: the lore of that restaurant is so fun. I agree. The secret menu item is good. They have I'm I'm just gonna kind of flip through. So the biggest reason I haven't been here with Mousel A either, even like when M1 was out on like maternity leave and things. We've been with Taryn before though, is just it is a more specific menu. It's like a it I don't know exactly, it's like a South American cuisine, I guess maybe you could say. But here's what they have grilled steak, Crispy fried chicken with a chili soy glaze, curried vegetable crude stew. That's what I got. A duck-fried rice, a catch of the day, which is a fish, a harhar char sou pork, and a noodle bowl with shrimp. So I do eat shrimp, but not super often. So I got the curried vegetable crude stew. I will be honest that I did not really love that very much. And I probably would get Two of the appetizers. They had a falafel, which was okay, and then a salad. I would probably get that instead of the crew stew, or I would get the noodle bowl. It's not that it was bad, but I didn't really enjoy like I like curry a lot and I didn't really enjoy the curry sauce at all. And so that sort of made the meal kind of bland for me. But everything else on the menu, I'm sure, is great. So M1: I liked the entree I had, but mostly like it's if you listen to our C episode, if you are now a C stan, the lore of the Skipper Canteen restaurant and just the vibe in there is like really fun. And there's so much to look at. And that secret menu item like amazing. And I would order an entire plate for myself and like eat that probably. M2: Okay, well, that was a good one of mine. So we can each do one more because I feel like that was a pretty good one of mine, honestly. I can do mine. My last one. My last one. I actually have two, but I'll just choose one. Is which one to choose? Which one to choose? The Rainforest Cafe. Okay. M1: Just do both. Just do one right now. Rainforest count. Hang on. M2: No, no, don't. I didn't boo yours, and that is unacceptable. Okay. Here's the thing, guys. The Rainforest Cafe is quintessential, like yes, two thousands vibes in the best way. Everything about it, it's so fun. In fact, you know this year I have been to two Rainforest cafes, one in the United States and one in Paris. Disneyland Paris specifically. M1: It's insane that for one of your meals at Disneyland Paris, you went to the Rainforest Cafe. M2: Well, okay, there was not a lot open, and we went down to Disney Village, which is like their downtown Disney, and that one was closing in like a month, and we said, Wait, we're gonna go in there. It was seriously, it was so, so, so good. It was, yes, Mousela A just messaged me on Teams, and it is so true. Whimsy. It was like a touch of we were like, What do we need to do? We need to get a little bit of whimsy, and we popped in there, we shared an appetizer plate, we got fun drinks. It was just like such a vibe, and they have one at Animal Kingdom. I can't even talk about the bartender there because seriously I'm already on the edge. So I'll have to bring it up a different time. Someone remind me. I'll talk about it in like in a week or two. when I'm feeling a little more mentally stable. But it is so fun. I'm like, everyone get over everyone go over there. It's really fun. The menu is great. It's a very affordable price. And it's better than the yak and yeti restaurant. I said it. M1: Last time I ate at Rainforest Cafe, I think I got a pizza and it was like putrid. It was M2: A pizza? M1: What why'd you why'd you say it like that? M2: A pizza a pizza? M1: A pizza? M2: A pizza? Why are you saying it like that? A pizza? I've never heard you say pizza like you said a pizza. I've M1: I'm not saying it like that. A pizza. A pizza. A pizza. M2: never heard you say pizza like that in all the years I've known you. M1: Okay. I just said a pizza. I I got a pizza and it was M2: You guys know that pizza was one of my first words. M1: It was, which is really, really random. Like as a baby guys, she would go pizza, pizza, pizza, like that. Not related. That just sounded like a M2: A scream at M1: yeah, that just sounded like a jingle for like little Caesars. Pizza Pizza. It's not related to that. I don't know why she did that. M2: I don't know if Little Caesars was open when I was a kid. okay, Reinforced Cafe. Final the final ones. M1: Okay, I'll end with this. And I think this is like, I don't think this is underrated or not done by everybody, but I think that Animal Kingdom Lodge deserves a second chance. I think a lot of people write Animal Kingdom Lodge off because there's this whole thing, conversation, about how it's like so far away from stuff. And as I've said many times, it just is not that far. And when you get on a Disney bus, Whether you're on that bus for like 12 minutes or like 16 minutes, it just doesn't feel that different. Like it just is like not really that relevant. And Animal Kingdom Lodge is a such a cool, unique, like big theme resort. It has animals that you can go out and see. It's like so cool. The food there is some of the best on property in terms of resorts. And No, it doesn't have transportation to Animal Kingdom, even though it should, but it's like one second away by bus. Like, yes, that is a slight knock to it, but people write it off and it is such a good resort and it's also pretty affordable for a deluxe resort. Like M2: Like, lest people forget, if you stay at the Grand Floridian, you have to take a bus to Animal Kingdom too, you know? So it's like M1: Literally, you're going the same amount distance as Animal Kingdom Lodge to Magic Kingdom. Like it's just not that far. M2: And I feel like as it's on the edge of property, people feel like it's so far away. If you p parked it in the middle, I think people would love it. It's like, let's get over that. Yeah, I agree. Okay, my last one was going to be Cali River Rapids. this becomes an honorable mention because, like, if you prepare and you use the lockers, you bring out the shoes and stuff, it's really fun. But then I as you were talking, I said, wait a second. You know what people keep writing off? You specifically, is Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Because you know, no. M1: I am I'm a hater, I have to say. M2: You are a hater and it's because you don't like the storyline. And I understand that in an ideal world, like it would have been cool if it followed the movie. And a lot you know, some rides do and some rides don't. But I'm like, you know what? There is a cool storyline. Disney has yes, there is. And there's a secondary storyline also that not a lot of people know about. And I think you're the one who actually was the one who learned that lore to begin with. Yes, the armadillo. M1: The armadill the armadillo. Yes. M2: And we can talk about that another time, maybe for a fact of the day, honestly. But I I think it's cool that they had this thing they were trying to play over. They did a way better job than they did with Frozen, and they did the salt mine thing and they it it does feel immersive and it does not feel like you're on Splash Mountain. It feels like you're on a different ride, which I really appreciate. I love the scene with the bugs in the nightclub. I think that part is really, really fun. I like Mama Odie. What? M1: Such a niche such a niche moment, the bugs in the nightclub. M2: The entire nightclub scene. No, the whole thing, the whole thing. M1: I think that yes. so I really am not a fan of the frozen re-theme, mostly because I think there's so much blank space in there. It's like so obviously a re-theme, and I just like really kind of think it's weak. I do not feel like that about Tiana's by You Adventure. Like it is so immersively themed. You don't feel like you're on Splash Mountain. Like you it it feels it all works. The animatronics are really cool when they're working. They do kind of go down a lot, but they are very cool. I just find the storyline that they chose to it's like we're trying to f the stakes are so low. We're trying to find a band for the party. Okay. And then all the bands are picked. I'm like, meh. No. M2: Good. No, I mean, but like, okay, you understand that that's what the story is. Just enjoy it's like it's kind of like an Avi River Journey type vibe. It's just like, just enjoy being in the moment. Right. Yeah. And notice that one didn't make the list. But just enjoy M1: Which which which I which I also hate. M2: stepping into the moment of Tiana's. And I think that I Splash Mountain was my favorite ride. just like I loved it as a kid so much, and it continued to be my favorite ride. But it was getting a little crusty. And this one feels M1: think I could I think I could try to give it a second chance. I think I could try to see it perhaps with new eyes. The armadillo story is cool, but M2: Yes. You know what the storyline is. So like let's dig into stuff beyond that. okay, guys, that was our Disney things that deserve a second chance with a big, big breakdown in between about, you know, something very terrible that our mom and every other every other parent that was at that event did as well. So apologies, but M1: Ha ha ha. M2: to be said, we're gonna do our special segment as a it's a little it's a state of the union. It's a hot or a not list fall edition. M1: I I thought that you weren't hitting it, so I did hit it at the same time as you. it is September, which means that in my eyes, fall is starting to begin. It to me, fall does not begin in August. So we are we are here with our hot or not list with our outs and our ins. And I can start with my first because out for me is Halloween in August. I'm sorry. I know that Disney is obsessed with this, and like when I'm going to the Disney parks in August. And it's Halloween time. I can like kind of get into it, but this year we talked about this some. When we were at Disneyland, we actually talked about this, I think, on the Peach Crew bonus episode. When we were at Disneyland, they'd started decorating California Adventure for Halloween. even though it wasn't like official Halloween time there yet. And I was just like, no, I'm sorry. I'm not in the Halloween spirit. I'm not in the Halloween mood. I don't really want to see Halloween decorations right now. In for me is Halloween in October. Out. Halloween in August, thoughts? M2: No, I agree. Stop decorating early too. That that was unacceptable to me. Don't decorate California Adventure early. Like, no, no, no, no, no. Let's transform overnight. That's what M1: Yeah, when Halloween hasn't started. Like if we were there and how yes. M2: you do. I agree. To me, especially like early August. I'm like, let me savor the last moment of summer. The kids go back to school. I don't have kids of my own. But like that is the transition that I'm like, okay. I like if am feeling this like slide now, which is fun. But like August is way too early. So yeah, I agree. okay. Out. For me. The and this sort of ties into to one, but being scared at Halloween is out. I hate being scared. And be in is having fun. Okay. M1: I I agree. M2: And I'm sorry. And like Halloween horror nights is is out. Like I and I love that everyone loves it. And like that's everyone loves it. But no, I would never be able to do it because I don't enjoy being scared. I don't enjoy gore. I don't enjoy anything like that. And I love having nice whimsical fun with Mickey and a pumpkin. And like M1: This is something M2: That's what a girl wants to see. M1: that I've talked to Mouseless C about because Mouselit C loves horror movies. And I'm like, I hate horror movies. I hate them. Not even like just while watching the movie, like watching the movie, like I obviously am scared and I don't like it, but after I'm so creeped out walking around my own house, like thinking someone's gonna like pop through a window at any moment. I'm like, this feeling actually makes me ill. Like I'm miserable. Being scared is a no. Doing fun is cute, like spooky, but not actually spooky at all things. It like the the scariest I can do is like go on like a little go a historical ghost tour. Cause I don't really believe in ghosts. Like M2: Yeah, but I can't even do like like torture type things like Tower M1: no. M2: of London. I'm like, you know what? No, no, no, no, no. It's not fun for me. And let's bring back it more people being in t I I mean, I if you like being scared, do it. But like I don't want to I don't want to be scared. So M1: If you don't like if you like being scared, completely fine. However, if you don't like being scared, you should just stop getting scared. M2: Yeah, no literally. M1: Stop being scared. Like, stop being in situations that you're gonna feel scared. relatedly, I was gonna put Halloween Horror Nights too, because like obviously we don't like it. But then I actually was thinking and I said, I have a hot take. This year for me, Halloween Horror Nights and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party actually are out. Because Mickey's not so scary Halloween party has nothing new. And if you haven't gone, it's really fun. It's great. If you've gone a bunch of times. Mm, I said what's in is regular park decor. Magic Kingdom has done more and more each year with like adding decor around the parks. It's really cute. It's really fun. I can immerse myself in Halloween then. I obviously can't do a full costume because of rules, but like I can do a fun, cute Disney bound. And right now for me, if I was going during Halloween time, which I'm not, but if I was, that's sufficient. M2: I think that this really leads into like, have you listened the listen whoever's listening gone recently? Cause if you haven't, ten out of ten. So much fun. But if you have and you've gone year to year, and this is what I think we do a little differently than a lot of people, especially not living there, because we've been doing it with very merry recently too, is that we don't go every year because I'm just like, do we need to? It's fun to get in costume and things like that, but I had something similar. I had out. not changing things for a long time in new things. Not everything has to be new. I love a classic. At the same time, for a special ticketed event, if you go year after year, I would like to see something different. And I do think that that's one of the reasons going back to our news when I said we'll talk about it later. I think it's one of the reasons that the party hasn't sold out because a lot of people are like, I I've done this. I just I know they maybe changed the food and the merch, but like, yeah, it gets a little tiring. M1: I will say this year they did add like a haunted mansion maid and ghost when you're walking in and like the gravediggers. I think that is a really fun change. I like wish that we were there to see it. It's not enough to make me like pay to go to the party, but like I think that that was a really good idea. In past years, like I think last year they added the hitchhiking ghosts and they have them again this year. Things like that are relatively easy ads that I think do a lot, which Ties into my next one. For me, for this season, rides are out. Entertainment is in. Entertainment is in. I think, M2: Wow, okay. M1: like those things I just described, I think there's so many like cool opportunities that they have with like, you know, during the party again, they have the cadaver dance. They have like the hitchhiking goes and stuff like that. Last year we had an amazing fun time with a country bear. Like, M2: So good. It like rejuvenated us. M1: Just really fun little moments like that. The entertainment I feel like is plused a little bit. even like the fall theme Dapper Dans that go around Main Street during this time of year. I really like that. And I like looking for those little entertainment pockets when the rides perhaps aren't changing as much. And so I'm a little more like, M2: Yeah. Okay. My next one. Out not dressing in costume. In going all out and bringing a change of clothes. I think we've talked about this. This is our like specialty. We wear a costume. We love it. And then once it gets dark, we change into something comfy. Once we feel like we've gotten the like it's fun to be in the daylight and be like seeing other people's costumes and people seeing yours and taking pictures. But then there comes a time that you're like, get me out of this entire ensemble. Get me out of this. evil stepsister wig and dress and get me into biker shorts. I don't care what I look like. But it's so fun to dress in costume. And people are like, I I know that's like, we're gonna be hot. What but like get a locker, I promise. Wear biker shorts and a t-shirt under, figure something out. It is so, so, so fun to dress in costume. M1: Yes. I last year when we were evil step sisters, I was three months pregnant and not saying it yet. And I we got the evil step sisters costumes like so cheap because we were like, we're never gonna wear these again. M2: They did zero reviews on Amazon. M1: Zero reviews. They were the stiffest. They'd absolutely not an ounce of stretch to them. I think I literally ripped mine putting it on. I I could have thrown the thing away at the end of the night. It was so cheap I didn't. I I do still have it. But like we were like, you know what? This is gonna be really fun for a little bit, and then we're gonna put on something comfy. Mine was very similar. I set out wearing hot costumes all night in changing into a cool outfit. Like, costume M2: Yep. Yep. M1: is a yes, but don't don't torture yourself in it all night. Don't melt. M2: Agreed. Okay. This one's a basic one. I know Mouse One's gonna agree. Pirates are out and witches are in. Mouse of One hates pirates. I could have said pirates are out like slugs are in it, you would have agreed. M1: Yes. Pirates are out. I hate pirates. M2: I'm like, you know what? This is a Halloween thing, though. I there's a time and a place for a pirate on the cruise at Disney specifically. I'm like, okay, sure, give me a pirate night then. although, like, I'm kind of over it to be honest. And like maybe would potentially skip M1: Hmm. Yeah, same. Like change up the theme, yeah. M2: some of it. Yeah. But pirates are out at Halloween. Pirates have nothing to do with Halloween. Witches, M1: Do with Halloween. Yeah, they don't. Why are they actually part of it? M2: why are they part of it? I'm like, pause. What are these pirates all doing? I like a pirate occasionally, but I want like just a little dabble, a little taste of a pirate. And it's like someone's poured like a gallon sized jug of pirates on my throat sometimes. witches are in. Bring bring M1: I almost never need any pirates ever, which is though R in. Actually. M2: on the witches. Practical magic. Two. M1: I'm really excited for that new Hexed movie. It's not coming out until Thanksgiving, which I know is like a big movie release time. I do wish that they were releasing it. I know. M2: That feels like a mistake. M1: I do wish they were releasing it for Halloween. Maybe it's not like that type of witch, but I am in my witch era, actually. I agree. Witches are in. Pirates, goodbye. M2: Yeah. Yep. M1: okay, my last one. I was thinking about like Mickey Pumpkins, right? Like buying a Mickey pumpkin for me for my house. And I was thinking. Out is like cool girl, clean girl Halloween decor in over-the-top kitschy Halloween decor. give me Mickey Pumpkins, M2: Yeah. M1: give me like the like crazy kooky like skeleton nine. Mm-hmm. M2: nineties, like M1: I want to be going all out for Halloween. I feel like it's I want to feel like it's like 90s childhood Halloween in my house, like Disney touches. I don't want to be having like, you know, like a a cream pumpkin like placed off to the side that like blends in with my decor. For me, that's not the vibe that I'm going for this season. M2: I agree. I'll I'll I'll chime in and say for my house, my vibe, Mouse A is gonna listen to this and scream. Country bumpkin pumpkin M1: Ha ha M2: is in. I want my house to look like a colonial Halloween. and I M1: Mouse too is like literally like quaking in her boots hearing that. Yeah, Mouse Day. M2: Mouse a day, you mean? Yes. that's what I want. And yes, I want it like nineties, like I that's the vibe I'm leaning into. Cool girl, Halloween is is out. And embracing Halloween is in as well. I had two more. I'll I'll say an honorable mention. Pumpkin spice lattes are out, cinnamon lattes are in, just for me personally. but princesses are out, never really in for me in general. Villains are in. Villains we were supposed M1: I agree. M2: to do a villains podcast this week and we are deferring it a bit, but it will come. Villains and the villain franchise has a lot of very interesting lore. And just I mean, yes, required there was a lot we had to dig into and we said, we need to do it right. And this week, the week from H E double hockey sticks is not the week that we could dig into it. But villains are finally getting their moment again. And as big people who have been villains fans, and we were fans of villains when they were the outest of outs. But it was like M1: Yes, when it was like nope when it was like okay. M2: Yeah, we've always loved them and not to be like pick me girls because we're not. I understand a lot of people love M1: Yeah. M2: them. If that feels a pick me, but no, villains are officially in and I am very, very happy about that. M1: I agree. Okay, let's get into our pit and peach of the week. I think both of our pits are clear, but I'll just start with mine. I couldn't be more overwhelmed. I actually have a knot in my stomach thinking about the fact that I have to hang up this podcast and then go run around doing 100,000 things trying to prep for this trip tomorrow, coupled with the fact that I have to film a YouTube video tomorrow. Like that actually makes me want to perish. So it's my pit. M2: okay. I think my pit is the fact that this week ended up being, you know what? Like all in all, it sort of worked out, but like I like wound myself up and like could not unwind and have just been like, as I say, a Jay Thaddeus, a Mr. Toad, that I've like literally had like manic eyes that I'm just like manic twenty four seven, just like crazy. And I'm finally sort of ramping down and settling down. it's just made it that was my pit. My peach a peach can I do a peach that hasn't happened yet? Like an upcoming peach, perhaps? M1: Yeah, yeah. M2: My peach is that this weekend we're gonna go to New York, which will be fun. New York State, not New York City. And we'll be seeing Mouse today's parents. I'll be seeing Mouse at three. I think that will be fun, nice for me to decompress. I will like well, probably not, but I was con I was I was gonna say I might leave my laptop at home, but no, but I probably won't be working. So that's my peach. M1: My peach is that I'm going to Portugal this weekend, which I think will be very fun. I've only been to Portugal one time for like a weekend when I was studying abroad in college. And I'm going to a new city there. So I am excited. I just need to kind of get there. Once I'm there, it'll be good. But getting there, you know, is kind of the pit. Okay. Fact of the day. M2: I'll do my fact. My fact of the day is that on Tiana's Bayou Adventure, you can see an armadillo who I believe his name is Larry. Pretty sure. it is Larry. Yeah. M1: L A R I Larry, yes. It is, but it's L A R I. M2: Okay. And he is hidden in a bunch of different scenes. And the big thing about him is that he likes to like borrow things, steal things. But it's basically like a secondary storyline. A mouse of one's probably gonna chime into this. I can see it. It's a secondary storyline that they incorporated into this attraction. Anything I M1: Yeah, M2: missed? M1: no, I was just gonna say, like, if look up the storyline if you want to. It's like a cool thing to look for if you think that the main storyline of Tiana's is maybe not as interesting. I'll I was gonna my Tiana this is like the most basic one, but it just reminded me of it, which is that on Tiana's there's a Lewis, like a hidden Lewis made out of vegetables. I love him. And I was trying to show him to our mom when we went by him last time, and she was like, What? It's like a very obvious one. Okay, it's like on the right side, like Right when you first go up. It's barely M2: Barely it's it's barely a fact. M1: a fact. It's so obvious. Mama Mouse couldn't see it at all. So it is a fact. I guess she was like, What? And I was like, see, that looks like an alligator. She was like, No. So that's my fact. M2: Well, mom. that's what we have for you today, guys. That is our podcast. So next week, Mouse Let One will not be here. So we'll be filling in with Mouse Let three, Mouse Let A. but coming up, villains, more resort deep dives. We did a question bubble on Instagram, and that was probably the biggest ask is more resort deep dives. So we'll be doing that, answering more listener questions.
