- 0:00Speaker 1: And then you read fake news like your network CNN,
- 0:04Speaker 1: which is fake news. You read them, you have them say, well, actually,
- 0:07Speaker 1: all are they doing quite well? Let me just say it.
- 0:10Speaker 1: They have now inflation of over three hundred percent. Four
- 0:13Speaker 1: months ago that inflation of five percent. Now they're at
- 0:16Speaker 1: over three hundred It could be three hundred and fifty percent.
- 0:20Speaker 1: All they have is fake news. Because they have the
- 0:22Speaker 1: fake news. Would rather see us lose the war than
- 0:25Speaker 1: win the war which has really treated us, which has
- 0:28Speaker 1: really treated us in a second way.
- 0:30Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning. It's so nice to have you with
- 0:36Speaker 3: us on the forty seven Morning Update. And we've got
- 0:37Speaker 3: two big stories for you. First, the President of United
- 0:40Speaker 3: States of America attacking Iran and also securing the strait
- 0:44Speaker 3: of her moves, saying the United States of America will
- 0:46Speaker 3: now take total control. What does that mean, we'll explain it. Also,
- 0:51Speaker 3: we now know who the replacement is for Lindsey Graham
- 0:54Speaker 3: in the interim until they have an election.
- 0:57Speaker 4: And it is a story that is going to warm
- 0:59Speaker 4: your heart.
- 1:00Speaker 3: As the President of the United States of America, well,
- 1:02Speaker 3: he let it be very well known who he thought
- 1:05Speaker 3: should get that position, and that's exactly who the governor
- 1:08Speaker 3: has appointed. Now, before we get to all that, I
- 1:11Speaker 3: want to take a moment and I want to give
- 1:13Speaker 3: you something right now for free. If you are proud
- 1:16Speaker 3: to stand with Israel, I want you to receive a
- 1:20Speaker 3: free USA Israel flagpin. You can get this right now
- 1:25Speaker 3: by going online to flag PINIFCJ dot org. That's flag
- 1:31Speaker 3: PINIFCJ dot org. Now, I proudly wear this pen every
- 1:35Speaker 3: day when I'm on TV. And as America has celebrated
- 1:38Speaker 3: our two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, this milestone also is
- 1:41Speaker 3: a time to reflect on our enduring relationship between the
- 1:45Speaker 3: US and Israel. They are our greatest allies, certainly in
- 1:48Speaker 3: the Middle East. President Trump has made it clear that
- 1:51Speaker 3: we are standing side by side with Israel, and that
- 1:55Speaker 3: is another reason why I want you to have this pen,
- 1:57Speaker 3: so that you can stand with Israel, as there's so
- 2:00Speaker 3: much anti Semitism growing and on the rise even in
- 2:03Speaker 3: this country. Now, America, we just celebrate our two hundred
- 2:07Speaker 3: and fifty year Independence Day and the International Fellowship of
- 2:11Speaker 3: Christians and Jews, well, now they're turning to God in prayer,
- 2:14Speaker 3: asking that his wisdom will guide elected officials and lead
- 2:18Speaker 3: American Israel to moral clarity and national unity. So, if
- 2:22Speaker 3: you're proud to stand with American Israel and you want
- 2:25Speaker 3: one of these flag pins, I want to.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Give it to you, Like I said, for free.
- 2:30Speaker 3: It is time that we not be bullied by the
- 2:32Speaker 3: anti Semites in this country. Sign up to receive a
- 2:35Speaker 3: free USA Israel flagpen right now by going to flagpenifcj
- 2:41Speaker 3: dot org. That's flag pen if cj dot org. It's
- 2:47Speaker 3: a forty seven morning update and it starts right now.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 2:52Speaker 3: To say that the ball is moving very quickly with
- 2:55Speaker 3: President Donald Trump and what's happening in Iran, honestly, that
- 2:58Speaker 3: would be an understatement. And I'm going to walk you
- 3:00Speaker 3: through what's happened in the last ten to twelve hours now.
- 3:04Speaker 3: The White House has announced that the President will address
- 3:07Speaker 3: the nation Thursday night, nine pm Eastern. As the conflict
- 3:11Speaker 3: with Iran continues to escalate and the Middle East is
- 3:14Speaker 3: now moving closer to a broader regional war. After Rand
- 3:19Speaker 3: attacks neighboring countries over the past several days, the situation
- 3:23Speaker 3: has changed significantly. President Trump is announced in the United
- 3:27Speaker 3: States has reinstating the blockade targeting Iranian shipping, and he's
- 3:31Speaker 3: also declared that America will serve as the quote guardians
- 3:34Speaker 3: of the Strait of Hermus following the renewed Iranian attacks
- 3:38Speaker 3: and military escalation. Now, the administration says the blockade is
- 3:43Speaker 3: aimed at Iranian vessels while allowing non Iranian commercial traffic
- 3:46Speaker 3: to continue. Trump's proposal, by the way, for a twenty
- 3:50Speaker 3: percent security fee on cargo has also sparked international debate. Now,
- 3:56Speaker 3: I want you to hear what the President had to
- 3:58Speaker 3: say early in the morning on five News channel. Here's
- 4:01Speaker 3: what he said about Iran.
- 4:03Speaker 5: But we had a deal, but nobody knows we had
- 4:05Speaker 5: a deal. It was a done deal, and then they
- 4:07Speaker 5: broke it. They always break it. We've had ten deals
- 4:10Speaker 5: with these people, and so we're just going to hit
- 4:12Speaker 5: them very hard and we're going to keep the straight
- 4:16Speaker 5: and we'll probably run it. Will become the guardian of
- 4:19Speaker 5: the Strait. Maybe we'll call it the Guardian Angel of
- 4:21Speaker 5: the Strait. And we should be reimbursed for that when
- 4:24Speaker 5: we do that, we're going to be reimbursed because the
- 4:26Speaker 5: other nations are very wealthy that are on our side.
- 4:29Speaker 5: And we can't be expected to do that for nothing,
- 4:31Speaker 5: unlike we had for many years. You know, we guarded
- 4:34Speaker 5: the Strait for fifty years more and we never got
- 4:38Speaker 5: paid for it. They made all the money in the
- 4:40Speaker 5: United States was just you know, not they wouldn't. It's amazing,
- 4:45Speaker 5: it's we never made We guarded it for nothing, and
- 4:49Speaker 5: now we're going to guard it. We're going to get
- 4:51Speaker 5: paid for guarding it a lot of money, but we
- 4:53Speaker 5: just want to be reimbursed for doing all of this,
- 4:56Speaker 5: for putting our people in danger. But we're really not
- 4:59Speaker 5: putting people. We're really saving people. Remember this, They killed
- 5:03Speaker 5: fifty two thousand protesters so far as at this moment,
- 5:06Speaker 5: the numbers fifty two thousand. Who's going to protest and
- 5:10Speaker 5: a lot of people are surprised about the protesting, you
- 5:13Speaker 5: know that they haven't. But nobody's going to protest when
- 5:15Speaker 5: they get shot. They have AK forty seven, the machine
- 5:18Speaker 5: guns aimed at people's heads. If you move one foot further,
- 5:22Speaker 5: you get shot, and then they'll shot. They'll shoot ten
- 5:25Speaker 5: of them and everybody flees. Who's not going to flee
- 5:27Speaker 5: They don't have guns, So they're a bad group of people.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Let me just tell you that I don't say that often,
- 5:34Speaker 5: and I have to live with that statement. They're a
- 5:35Speaker 5: bad group of people. They've been this way for a
- 5:38Speaker 5: long time, and right now they're getting their ass kicked
- 5:42Speaker 5: and in the top forumber now.
- 5:44Speaker 3: The present being blunt there and as that interview happened,
- 5:48Speaker 3: then things starting to escalate on the other side of
- 5:50Speaker 3: what the White House says is going to happen next.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Now we also have been told that there are going
- 5:56Speaker 3: to be major attacks that are going to take place
- 5:59Speaker 3: tonight on Iran. The President putting out a tweet saying this,
- 6:04Speaker 3: The Strait of Hormuz is open all caps and will
- 6:08Speaker 3: remain open with or without Iran. We are reinstating the
- 6:11Speaker 3: Iranian blockade, so named it because it's only stopping Iran
- 6:15Speaker 3: ships or customers from entering or leaving. All other countries
- 6:19Speaker 3: will have fair and open use of the strait. The
- 6:22Speaker 3: US will be from this point forward known as the
- 6:24Speaker 3: Guardians of the Strait of Hormuz. But as much as
- 6:28Speaker 3: a matter of fairness, we will be reimbursed at a
- 6:31Speaker 3: rate of twenty percent on all cargo shift for any
- 6:34Speaker 3: and all costs necessary to do the job of providing
- 6:37Speaker 3: safety and security to this very volatile section of the world.
- 6:41Speaker 3: The process and formation will begin immediately. Thank you for
- 6:46Speaker 3: your attention to this matter. President Donald J. Trump putting
- 6:49Speaker 3: that in a truth social posting earlier. Now the President
- 6:54Speaker 3: also going to make this speech. Why well, the President's
- 6:57Speaker 3: saying this is he called into Salem radio and had
- 7:00Speaker 3: this to say about what's happening right now.
- 7:03Speaker 6: But we don't want to talk about that. But okay,
- 7:06Speaker 6: we certainly are watching. Yeah, I know a lot about
- 7:09Speaker 6: that subjects. I know a lot, but I don't think it's.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Appropriate to talk about it right now. But we will.
- 7:15Speaker 2: We will see hitting them.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Like as an example, we're gonna hit them very hard
- 7:18Speaker 6: tonight and we're gonna hit them hard tomorrow. And there's
- 7:23Speaker 6: not a damn thing they can do about it. They
- 7:25Speaker 6: have nothing, They have nothing going other than they have
- 7:27Speaker 6: big mouths.
- 7:30Speaker 1: That I did.
- 7:31Speaker 6: I got to know them, and it's a lot better.
- 7:35Speaker 6: You know, people say I was at least reasonable, but
- 7:37Speaker 6: I got to know them with this stone cald crazy.
- 7:39Speaker 3: People, stone cold crazy people. They have big mouths. Will
- 7:44Speaker 3: hit them very hard tonight and we're gonna hit them
- 7:46Speaker 3: hard tomorrow, and there's not a blanket thing they can
- 7:49Speaker 3: do about it. The US military again launching these overwhelming
- 7:54Speaker 3: strikes against Iran, the President announcing, and then the big
- 7:57Speaker 3: question will be what will the President say the nation
- 8:00Speaker 3: on Thursday night, nine o'clock pm Eastern. I can promise
- 8:03Speaker 3: you we're going to cover it all for you, as
- 8:05Speaker 3: the president. Moving into a new phase and a very
- 8:09Speaker 3: very important part of the world. The President also issuing
- 8:13Speaker 3: a scathing warning to a ran following the broken military agreement,
- 8:18Speaker 3: revealing that the US hammered their equipment overnight and permanently
- 8:23Speaker 3: took over the operations they say security operations in the
- 8:26Speaker 3: Middle East, saying this on Fox News.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Their equipment is gone. Their anti aircraft that is gone.
- 8:34Speaker 5: We hit them very hard last night. Every time they
- 8:36Speaker 5: send a drone, we hit them very hard. But we
- 8:38Speaker 5: had a deal, but nobody knows we had a deal.
- 8:41Speaker 5: It was a done deal, and then they broke it.
- 8:43Speaker 5: They always break it. We've had ten deals with these
- 8:46Speaker 5: vehople and so we're just going to hit them very
- 8:48Speaker 5: hard and we're going to keep the straight and we'll
- 8:52Speaker 5: probably run it. Will become the Guardian of the Strait.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Maybe we'll go it the Guardian Angel of the Strait,
- 8:57Speaker 5: and we should be reimbursed for that. When we do that,
- 9:00Speaker 5: we're going to be reimbursed because the other nations are
- 9:02Speaker 5: very wealthy that are on our side, and we can't
- 9:05Speaker 5: be expected to do that. But nothing unlike we had
- 9:07Speaker 5: for many years.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Now, this obviously is moving into a very new phase.
- 9:11Speaker 3: We now know that the President has formally notified lawmakers
- 9:15Speaker 3: that the nation is once again at war with Iran,
- 9:18Speaker 3: giving his administration another sixty eight clock to use military
- 9:22Speaker 3: in the region without congressional approval. So the President working
- 9:26Speaker 3: through this quickly, and he says he is now saying
- 9:29Speaker 3: the MoU with Iran was a test for Iran and
- 9:32Speaker 3: they failed it miserably. I said, watch I guarantee, and
- 9:36Speaker 3: they never followed it. They are known for this. It
- 9:39Speaker 3: was a test the memorandum of understanding. When you're dealing
- 9:42Speaker 3: with sleeves bags, well, then it's never going to work.
- 9:45Speaker 3: So the President making it clear this is a new
- 9:48Speaker 3: phase of this war with Iran, notifying Congress, and a
- 9:52Speaker 3: major announcement coming to the American people in primetime on
- 9:56Speaker 3: Thursday night.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Next story number two.
- 9:58Speaker 3: There are a lot of people that are looking looking
- 10:00Speaker 3: at South Carolina right now, and the big question was
- 10:03Speaker 3: who was going to take over after the passing of
- 10:06Speaker 3: Lindsey Graham. We now know who that interim centaer will be.
- 10:11Speaker 3: South Carolina. You have a new Senator, and the appointment
- 10:14Speaker 3: carries not only enormous personal and political, but also historic significance.
- 10:20Speaker 3: The Governor there, Henry McMaster, has appointed Lindsey Graham's younger sister, Yes,
- 10:28Speaker 3: to temporarily represent South Carolina in the United States Senate.
- 10:32Speaker 3: The appointment was publicly encouraged and supported by President Donald Trump,
- 10:37Speaker 3: who argued that selecting Darlin would be a fitting tribute
- 10:40Speaker 3: to her brother's extraordinary life and service. I want you
- 10:44Speaker 3: to hear the governor announcing that the sister of Lindsey
- 10:49Speaker 3: Graham had just been named the US Senator, and that
- 10:52Speaker 3: Governor Henry McMaster said, not only is a move that's
- 10:55Speaker 3: supported what President Trump had said, but she agreed to
- 10:59Speaker 3: serve through tears. Here's the Governor, in his own words,
- 11:03Speaker 3: making the announcement to the state today.
- 11:06Speaker 7: Under the law, is my duty and honor to name
- 11:11Speaker 7: someone to serve in the place of this irresistible man,
- 11:17Speaker 7: this irreplaceable man, this extraordinary man, for the remainder of
- 11:24Speaker 7: his term. Lindsey took care of his little sister in
- 11:28Speaker 7: years long departed. It's my honor to ask his little sister,
- 11:34Speaker 7: Darlene Graham, to finish his work for him now. And
- 11:39Speaker 7: by the way, Darlena, I don't know if I told you,
- 11:42Speaker 7: but after we spoke on the phone in the wee
- 11:44Speaker 7: house of Sunday morning and you agreed to serve through
- 11:48Speaker 7: tears earlier, I had wondered what she would say, and
- 11:57Speaker 7: I was humbled by your quickness to see the duty
- 12:03Speaker 7: that you had to serve. And I called the President
- 12:08Speaker 7: afterwards and he thought it was a great idea. And
- 12:12Speaker 7: I'm sure that everyone here does as well. Darling little sister,
- 12:17Speaker 7: come forward please.
- 12:19Speaker 3: As you could hear there from the Governor, it was
- 12:22Speaker 3: a somber but sweet movement. You may not realize that
- 12:25Speaker 3: Lindsey Graham's sister was someone that he raised after they
- 12:30Speaker 3: lost both of their parents when they were young. Lindsey
- 12:34Speaker 3: raised his little sister and eventually even became her legal guardian.
- 12:38Speaker 3: He was only in his early twenties, attending college and
- 12:41Speaker 3: serving in the Air Force, but he took responsibility for
- 12:45Speaker 3: keeping their family together. That experience not only shaped Lindsey
- 12:49Speaker 3: Graham's life, his faith and his commitment to public service,
- 12:52Speaker 3: but obviously had a massive impact on his little sister. Now,
- 12:57Speaker 3: she isn't just Lindsey Graham's little sister. She has virtually
- 13:01Speaker 3: been in every aspect in the most important parts of
- 13:04Speaker 3: Lindsay's life. She frequently appeared with him at major political moments,
- 13:08Speaker 3: including when he launched his presidential campaign, and she's remained
- 13:12Speaker 3: one of his closest confidants throughout his entire career. President
- 13:16Speaker 3: Trump even made reference to this before Governor McMaster's announcement.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Trump urged the governor to appoint the sister as a
- 13:25Speaker 3: temporary centater, describing the idea as not only a powerful
- 13:28Speaker 3: way to honor Lindsay Graham's memory, but also ensuring South
- 13:31Speaker 3: Carolina continued to have full representation in Washington. Senator Tim
- 13:36Speaker 3: Scott also supported the appointment as well, being from the
- 13:39Speaker 3: same state. Politically, the appointment is also incredibly important at
- 13:44Speaker 3: this moment. Why because when she arrives, it now allows
- 13:49Speaker 3: the Republicans to preserve their fifty three forty seven Senate majority,
- 13:54Speaker 3: a moment right now where the Chamber is dealing with
- 13:56Speaker 3: major national security legislation, defend spent presidential nominations and continuing
- 14:03Speaker 3: tensions involving Iran and Russia, with the President's big speech
- 14:07Speaker 3: on Thursday night being at the core of a lot
- 14:09Speaker 3: of this.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Lindsey Graham has been one of.
- 14:11Speaker 3: The Senate's most influential voices on military affairs, foreign policy,
- 14:16Speaker 3: and judiciary. And now his little sister will be there
- 14:21Speaker 3: to continue to carry that baton of what Lindsey Graham
- 14:23Speaker 3: believed in and to make sure the people of South
- 14:26Speaker 3: Carolina have someone representing their state's interests.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Now. Her appointment is also historic.
- 14:32Speaker 3: As I mentioned earlier, Darlen Graham becomes the first woman
- 14:36Speaker 3: to represent South Carolina in the United States Senate history.
- 14:40Speaker 3: It's a remarkable milestone in a state with a long
- 14:43Speaker 3: and consequential political history. The appointment does not settle the
- 14:47Speaker 3: longer political battle over Lindsey Graham's seat. South Carolina Republicans
- 14:52Speaker 3: are scheduled to hold a special primary on August eleventh,
- 14:56Speaker 3: with a potential runoff later that month.
- 14:59Speaker 4: The general election his schedule for November third.
- 15:02Speaker 5: Now.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Already there have been several prominent Republicans that are reportedly
- 15:06Speaker 3: looking and considering having a campaign, including the Lieutenant governor,
- 15:11Speaker 3: members of South Carolina's congressional delegation. The eventual Republican nominee
- 15:16Speaker 3: is also expected to face a tough fight with the
- 15:19Speaker 3: Democratic nominee, Annie Andrews. But what we now know is,
- 15:23Speaker 3: at least for the next few months, Lindsey Graham will
- 15:27Speaker 3: be represented in the United States Senate by his little sister.
- 15:31Speaker 3: And I couldn't think of anything more fitting than literally
- 15:34Speaker 3: doing exactly what the President said having this become a reality.
