- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, coming to you live from Alta, Monte Springs, Florida.
- 0:03Speaker 1: This is the Ember show your host Ember. First and foremost,
- 0:07Speaker 1: let's get into prayer, Lord Father that.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Arts in heaven.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I come to you in prayer to be able to
- 0:11Speaker 1: have the Holy Spirit, to be able to speak through
- 0:13Speaker 1: this mic and get through the listener's ears and be
- 0:15Speaker 1: able to reach their hearts and minds and be able
- 0:16Speaker 1: to apply these verses to their lives.
- 0:18Speaker 2: And the Lord Jesus Christ name I pray. Amen.
- 0:22Speaker 1: So we're gonna be in Matthew chapter nineteen tonight. We'll
- 0:24Speaker 1: go through probably about one through fifteen. If you want
- 0:27Speaker 1: to go ahead and grab your bibles or get on
- 0:29Speaker 1: your Bible lap and read along as you hear along,
- 0:33Speaker 1: I highly encourage it. If you just are listening, I
- 0:36Speaker 1: also highly encourage that you just block out the noise,
- 0:40Speaker 1: stay locked in. Jesus teaches that husbands and wives must
- 0:45Speaker 1: stay together. M I love this title even though I'm
- 0:48Speaker 1: not married, but I'm in an intimate relationship that's going
- 0:50Speaker 1: to eventually God willing lead to that. So this is
- 0:53Speaker 1: going to be able to be applied to me.
- 0:55Speaker 2: And I love the.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Gospel of Matthew. My goodness verse one. When Jesus had
- 1:02Speaker 1: finished saying all these things, he went away from galley.
- 1:06Speaker 1: He went to the part of Judah that is on
- 1:08Speaker 1: the east side of the Jordan River Verse two. Large
- 1:12Speaker 1: crowds followed Jesus there he made the sick people well again.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Some pharisees came to talk to Jesus. They wanted to
- 1:20Speaker 1: see how they would answer their question. They asked, can
- 1:24Speaker 1: a man send his wife away so that she is
- 1:28Speaker 1: no longer his wife? Is it right for him to
- 1:34Speaker 1: do that for any reason he chooses?
- 1:37Speaker 2: And this is verse four?
- 1:38Speaker 1: This is Jesus replied, you surely have read about this
- 1:43Speaker 1: in the Bible in the beginning. When God created the world,
- 1:47Speaker 1: he made people male and female verse five. Because of this,
- 1:52Speaker 1: a man leaves his father and his mother, God joins
- 1:56Speaker 1: him and his wife together. The man in the world
- 2:00Speaker 1: woman become like one body. I want to go through
- 2:04Speaker 1: these first five verses, and Jesus is very clear about this.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Of course, when you're.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Brought up right, your spring up right, you're with your mom,
- 2:16Speaker 1: you're with your dad, or you're with your mom, or
- 2:18Speaker 1: you're with your dad.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Sometimes people have, you know, single parents, and.
- 2:22Speaker 1: There's everybody has a different upcoming, right, But if a
- 2:28Speaker 1: man finds a wife or a wife finds a husband,
- 2:32Speaker 1: that is a blessing.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Right. So Jesus is also.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Applying here that it needs to be one with the
- 2:44Speaker 1: male and the female.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Okay, this is something that.
- 2:50Speaker 1: You are so connected to your immediate family that the
- 2:59Speaker 1: way they raise you and the way that you are taught,
- 3:04Speaker 1: and then you grow up and you become mature and
- 3:07Speaker 1: you start learning things on your own, you start meeting people.
- 3:12Speaker 2: It's kind of interesting, right how Like you know, a
- 3:14Speaker 2: lot of.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Our parents would say a lot of our parents would say,
- 3:18Speaker 1: don't talk to strangers. And it's interesting because we did
- 3:22Speaker 1: talk to strangers. Everybody before we met them, right, was
- 3:26Speaker 1: a stranger. We did not know them. Now, I think
- 3:30Speaker 1: that really replied and applied to them. Sorry that don't
- 3:34Speaker 1: talk to strangers the people that are strange. But I
- 3:37Speaker 1: mean there's two different ways of looking at that, right.
- 3:40Speaker 1: You have to be very cautious. Cautious and paranoid.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Sometimes there's a thin borderline. Right.
- 3:45Speaker 1: So verse six, they are not two separate people any longer.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Now we're talking about the male and the female that
- 3:51Speaker 1: are one. They have come together as one person. That's
- 3:57Speaker 1: a healthy relationship, having the male and the female become one,
- 4:04Speaker 1: not like they're you know, cat dog, you know the cartoon.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But this is something where we're talking about working together,
- 4:17Speaker 1: helping each other. It's a great thing when you find
- 4:22Speaker 1: a wife, when you find a husband, God has put
- 4:29Speaker 1: them together to be husband and wife. Oh, let me,
- 4:33Speaker 1: let me repeat that sentence, because there's so many people
- 4:36Speaker 1: that are looking in the wrong places all right, Like,
- 4:44Speaker 1: and I'm talking to a lot of men. I'm gonna
- 4:47Speaker 1: be a little.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Sexist on this one.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Everyone's looking for that hottie, everybody's looking for that baddie.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Everybody's looking for the one, right. It's almost like.
- 5:00Speaker 2: You're setting yourself up.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Because after attraction, if there's no compatibility, if there's no chemistry,
- 5:13Speaker 1: that person ain't gonna always look beautiful. And God has
- 5:17Speaker 1: to put them together to be husband and wife. So
- 5:20Speaker 1: nobody should make them separate. Only God can put two
- 5:26Speaker 1: together that's going to actually last. There's a lot of
- 5:31Speaker 1: great stories out there of marriages that have last, that
- 5:35Speaker 1: have lasts. Now, I understand we live in a society
- 5:39Speaker 1: today where everything is you know, the lustice is thriving,
- 5:45Speaker 1: you know, and there's so many different apps, and there's
- 5:49Speaker 1: so much cheating going on. There's so much. Everybody has
- 5:53Speaker 1: a side piece, and I don't want to say everybody,
- 5:55Speaker 1: because just like I stated before, that is that there's
- 5:58Speaker 1: a lot of stories out there that husbands and wives
- 6:02Speaker 1: stayed together work things out. Not everything's going to be well.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You're happy all the time. When God has put something together,
- 6:12Speaker 1: it's going to sometimes push you, especially when it's somebody
- 6:16Speaker 1: that's there with you every day, and you have to
- 6:20Speaker 1: find that balance, right. You have to have your time
- 6:22Speaker 1: for yourself. You have to have time for your career.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You have to have time for God, especially God, to
- 6:29Speaker 1: have time for God.
- 6:30Speaker 2: You know, it's especially a couple.
- 6:34Speaker 1: That prays together stays together, but it has to be consistent.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Now verse seven, Then the Pharisee said to Jesus, Moses
- 6:41Speaker 1: said that a man could write a letter to say
- 6:44Speaker 1: that he and his wife are no longer married. Then
- 6:47Speaker 1: the man can send the woman away. Why did Moses
- 6:50Speaker 1: say this, Jesus answered them, Moses said this because you
- 6:55Speaker 1: people did not want to obey God. Oh, everybody that
- 6:59Speaker 1: gets divorced, they.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Don't want to obey God.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Now, let me get deeper hold on but it was
- 7:04Speaker 1: different in the beginning when God made the world verse nine.
- 7:08Speaker 1: But now I say to you, a man must not
- 7:10Speaker 1: send his wife away and marry another woman. If he
- 7:14Speaker 1: does that, it is the same as if he had
- 7:17Speaker 1: sex with another man's wife. A man may only send
- 7:20Speaker 1: his wife away if she has had sex with another man. Oh,
- 7:26Speaker 1: let me get an ade, man, because I love this
- 7:28Speaker 1: and I'm all about this last sentence. A man may
- 7:32Speaker 1: only send his wife away if she has had sex
- 7:36Speaker 1: with another man. I have been through this in relationship
- 7:42Speaker 1: that has transpired.
- 7:45Speaker 2: It was in my early twenties.
- 7:47Speaker 1: But the woman that I was with cheated on me.
- 7:52Speaker 1: And yes, I was young, and I was in my
- 7:55Speaker 1: believing stage, very early believing, just believing.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Stage following christ.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Journey, and I forgave her and we tried to work
- 8:08Speaker 1: it out.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Obviously it didn't work out. And that's okay, you know.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And I don't have any regrets, you know. It's like
- 8:21Speaker 1: I had to learn, you know, And this is really
- 8:24Speaker 1: this is for me. This these I'll tell you what,
- 8:27Speaker 1: how much the time we got, we got plenty of time, right, yes,
- 8:31Speaker 1: we do. This is for me tonight, and I know
- 8:33Speaker 1: it might be for somebody else that's listening, But this
- 8:35Speaker 1: is for me. I needed this, and I'm gonna I'm
- 8:40Speaker 1: gonna do another part two on this because I ain't
- 8:44Speaker 1: got really much else to do tonight. So we're gonna
- 8:45Speaker 1: We're gonna dive deep. We're gonna dive deep.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Verse ten.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Jesus disciples said to him, you say that this is
- 8:57Speaker 1: what it is like for a man and his wife,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and maybe it is better if people do not marry.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Jesus replied, not everyone can agree with this idea, but
- 9:08Speaker 1: God has helped some people to accept it. There are
- 9:11Speaker 1: several different reasons why a person may not marry. Some
- 9:17Speaker 1: men cannot have sex they were born like that. Some
- 9:21Speaker 1: people cannot have sex because of people of other people
- 9:25Speaker 1: did something to them. Some people choose not to have sex.
- 9:29Speaker 1: They do not marry because they can work better for
- 9:33Speaker 1: God and his kingdom. Anyone who can accept this idea
- 9:37Speaker 1: should do it. It's not all about you finding the
- 9:46Speaker 1: love of your life. For every person. Not everybody is
- 9:54Speaker 1: meant to be married. And when it says they do
- 9:58Speaker 1: not marry because they can and work better for God
- 10:02Speaker 1: and his kingdom, having that marriage with God right being
- 10:08Speaker 1: in relationship with his son Jesus Christ, and being able
- 10:12Speaker 1: to have the Holy Spirit be activated in you, you
- 10:19Speaker 1: will get so many different I want to say just blessings, right,
- 10:29Speaker 1: But it's more than that. You're serving God by serving
- 10:33Speaker 1: his people, and there's a satisfaction that over time comes
- 10:39Speaker 1: with that. I can't sit here and say that I
- 10:41Speaker 1: know a whole lot about that because I'm only about
- 10:44Speaker 1: six or seven months following Christ and over twenty years
- 10:48Speaker 1: being a believer, And forgive me for the sirens in
- 10:51Speaker 1: the background and the other noise.
- 10:55Speaker 2: But I want to go ahead.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And close out on Let's try to get to fifteen.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Little children come to Jesus verse thirteen, Matthew, chapter nineteen.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Then some people brought their little children to Jesus. They
- 11:08Speaker 1: wanted him to put his hands on each child's head.
- 11:12Speaker 1: They wanted him to pray for them. But the disciples
- 11:16Speaker 1: told the people that they could not do that. Hey,
- 11:19Speaker 1: here comes Jesus. Verse fourteen. Jesus said to them, do
- 11:22Speaker 1: not stop the children. Let them come to me. People
- 11:26Speaker 1: must become like these children so that God can rule
- 11:31Speaker 1: in their lives. That is what the Kingdom of Heaven
- 11:35Speaker 1: is like. So Jesus put his hands on each of
- 11:38Speaker 1: the children's heads and prayed for them. After that he
- 11:42Speaker 1: went away from that place, and that is verse fifteen.
- 11:46Speaker 1: And it kind of said that in chapter eighteen last
- 11:51Speaker 1: night talking about being that childlike, you know, being like children. Now,
- 11:57Speaker 1: it's not all about you know, like it's having that
- 12:01Speaker 1: childlike spirit. You know, we all have that little child
- 12:05Speaker 1: in us, right, we all were once young. And it's
- 12:09Speaker 1: not like going around and being a goofball or being
- 12:13Speaker 1: silly all the time.
- 12:14Speaker 2: It's not being like an immature kid. When it when.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Jesus was talking about this and he was talking about
- 12:20Speaker 1: you know how a child, like most children, right, are
- 12:25Speaker 1: so innocent, they're so pure, their minds are like sponges, right,
- 12:33Speaker 1: they can learn so much in such a and and
- 12:39Speaker 1: when you get older, of course you had to put
- 12:42Speaker 1: more into it, right with learning and the personality traits,
- 12:47Speaker 1: and there's a lot of trauma and there's a lot
- 12:49Speaker 1: of different things. That's why recovery is very important. Being
- 12:53Speaker 1: able to not only just be prayed for Oh can
- 12:55Speaker 1: you pray for me? No, you got to put the
- 12:57Speaker 1: work in. You got to stop doing the habits that
- 13:01Speaker 1: you did for so long that you thought was helping you, Right,
- 13:06Speaker 1: cope trying to cope with something that you weren't meant
- 13:10Speaker 1: to cope with.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Give it to God. Live and let live. Give it
- 13:23Speaker 2: to God.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And this was such a great great Firse fifteen verses
- 13:30Speaker 1: of Matthew Chapter nineteen. I'm closing out. This is the
- 13:33Speaker 1: Ember Show. I want anybody to know that if you
- 13:36Speaker 1: are struggling with relationships, you're not alone. If you're struggling
- 13:43Speaker 1: with loving yourself, you're not alone. Don't think for one
- 13:48Speaker 1: second that this is going to last forever. Everything is temporary.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Every single thing is temporary. It's not it's not meant
- 14:00Speaker 1: to last forever, just like life in general on this
- 14:04Speaker 1: earth is not meant to last forever. You're going to
- 14:08Speaker 1: go through seasons and periods of times where you don't
- 14:12Speaker 1: feel wanted, you feel isolated, you don't know what to do.
- 14:18Speaker 1: That's when you rely on him. Have the relationship with
- 14:24Speaker 1: Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to be able to
- 14:26Speaker 1: guide you through the darkest times of your life and
- 14:29Speaker 1: be able to make sure that you give thanks as well.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Don't just be.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Talking to Jesus when it's when things are bad. Bring him,
- 14:40Speaker 1: help him, come celebrate with you as well, and that's
- 14:44Speaker 1: just suggestions. And this is the Ember Show, your host
- 14:47Speaker 1: Ember on a Wednesday night, kind of muggy here in Florida.
- 14:52Speaker 1: We're gonna go into a Part two real quick and
- 14:56Speaker 1: do maybe fifty sixteen through thirty.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Thank you for listening.
