- 1:06Jake Prince: Hey.
- 1:06Jake Prince: Thanks Tom.
- 1:07Jake Prince: Thanks for having me.
- 1:07Tom Jackobs: I am really excited for this conversation today, Jake, because we've been working together for several years, three years I think so, and I've seen your practice grow and you still have heart around it, and of course I wanted to bring you on the show and help our listeners who might be struggling with making money and still being Heart-Led to know that you can do both and help a lot of people along the way.
- 1:33Tom Jackobs: And of course I always like to start off the show with a quick question, which is, what's your definition of a Heart-Led business?
- 1:41Jake Prince: Wow.
- 1:41Jake Prince: Great question.
- 1:42Jake Prince: Me and my wife started this clinic eight years ago, here in just north of Houston, Texas.
- 1:47Jake Prince: In that eight years, we've seen incredible growth and incredible trials as well.
- 1:51Jake Prince: Owning a business is not easy nowadays.
- 1:53Jake Prince: It takes a lot of heart, it takes a lot of grit, it takes a lot of passion.
- 1:56Jake Prince: Throughout the years we were right there to COVID era too, right?
- 1:59Jake Prince: A couple years in business in COVID, I got kicked outta two buildings'cause I wouldn't shut down because of the heart.
- 2:05Jake Prince: We're here to serve God by serving others.
- 2:07Jake Prince: We live in a dying world.
- 2:09Jake Prince: A nation where I live in the US here, heart disease is on the rise.
- 2:13Jake Prince: Cancer's on the rise, stroke on the rise.
- 2:16Jake Prince: Opioid epidemic on a rise, like everything's on a rise.
- 2:19Jake Prince: Type one diabetes on the rise.
- 2:22Jake Prince: We lead the world in type one diabetes for pediatric and adults.
- 2:25Jake Prince: We lead type two diabetes in the world over all nations.
- 2:29Jake Prince: For pediatric, we're the most obese nation in the world.
- 2:32Jake Prince: Heart disease, all of it's on the rise.
- 2:34Jake Prince: Like November, we rank like number 14.
- 2:35Jake Prince: It's crazy.
- 2:37Jake Prince: And so our hearts really to educate our community and knowing how to take charge of their health, right?
- 2:42Jake Prince: I was told by a mentor of mine, Hey, you have to take charge of your wealth.
- 2:47Jake Prince: And the same goes, you have to take charge of your health, right?
- 2:50Jake Prince: Right there is really helping, educating others, knowing how to have the knowledge, understanding wisdom, knowing how to take charge of your health is our heartbeat.
- 2:56Jake Prince: And a lot of that too is we've had our own health trials, right?
- 2:59Jake Prince: So we're not coming from a textbook, we're coming also from experience.
- 3:02Jake Prince: But really what's kept us going, we're ranked top 1% in the whole world.
- 3:07Jake Prince: We'll cross over the$2 million mark this year easily just in cash collections.
- 3:11Jake Prince: Because of our heart.
- 3:12Jake Prince: I tell my team, Hey, we're on mission here.
- 3:14Jake Prince: So the heart is, we're on mission.
- 3:16Jake Prince: We're not showing up a bunch of clock.
- 3:17Jake Prince: We're not showing up to to punch in to work at a job.
- 3:21Jake Prince: JOB does not exist in our clinic, right?
- 3:23Jake Prince: We're all on mission.
- 3:25Jake Prince: We're here to save lives, right?
- 3:27Jake Prince: And I tell my team that every day, Hey, and if you're not on mission here to save lives, that's great.
- 3:31Jake Prince: That's cool.
- 3:32Jake Prince: Where do you wanna be in life?
- 3:33Jake Prince: Let me help you get there'cause evidently it's not here.
- 3:35Jake Prince: And I've had to have those conversations with my doctors, right?
- 3:38Jake Prince: You know, I tell my doctors, Hey, you just went to school for 10 years.
- 3:41Jake Prince: Guess what now?
- 3:42Jake Prince: Real true schooling starts now.
- 3:44Jake Prince: Right now.
- 3:44Jake Prince: You're truly, now is when the learning really starts.
- 3:47Jake Prince: When you get your hands on, and every case is different.
- 3:50Jake Prince: Everybody's different and everybody's body heals differently.
- 3:52Jake Prince: We have to adapt to that and figure out we're a root cause clinic.
- 3:56Jake Prince: And so with that, our jobs get to the root of what's causing their symptoms, whatever those symptoms may be.
- 4:01Jake Prince: Brain fog, headaches, migraines, can't get pregnant can't get out of bed.
- 4:04Jake Prince: Chronic sickness, illness, cancer, you name it.
- 4:07Jake Prince: Our jobs get to the root of cancer.
- 4:09Jake Prince: Our jobs get to the root of autoimmune.
- 4:10Jake Prince: We don't treat those cancers.
- 4:11Jake Prince: It comes down to one, having a love and a passion, for what you do and what you believe in.
- 4:17Jake Prince: If you don't believe in it, there's no way you're gonna make it and truly just be being on mission, looking at it as a mission.
- 4:21Jake Prince: This is our mission field.
- 4:22Jake Prince: This is our community.
- 4:23Jake Prince: Now, of course, we serve patients from every nation around the world, but Antarctica and I'm believing one day that patient will come in the door.
- 4:31Tom Jackobs: A research scientist most likely.
- 4:32Jake Prince: Yes, that's right.
- 4:33Jake Prince: But believe it.
- 4:34Jake Prince: The heartbeat is just the mission.
- 4:36Jake Prince: We believe in what we do and we know it really is saving lives.
- 4:39Tom Jackobs: That's awesome.
- 4:40Tom Jackobs: I'm curious though, where did you learn this?
- 4:43Tom Jackobs: Because it doesn't always come naturally to people, and especially in business, to bring the heart in and to lead your team the way that you're leading them.
- 4:52Jake Prince: Yeah, good question.
- 4:53Jake Prince: I think, nobody taught me how to run a business.
- 4:55Jake Prince: I didn't go to school.
- 4:56Jake Prince: My wife has more degrees than letters in alphabet.
- 4:58Jake Prince: I like to say.
- 4:59Jake Prince: She's the one with the MBA and the doctorate and all that other stuff.
- 5:02Jake Prince: So she should be the one running the businesses, managing them and such like that.
- 5:06Jake Prince: We have a couple different businesses, but really I learned by just being a student, I believe in what I'm doing.
- 5:12Jake Prince: I see the fruit of it.
- 5:13Jake Prince: But I love what we do and I get to see the fruit of what we do.
- 5:17Jake Prince: I get to see lives changed and transformed every day in our clinic.
- 5:20Jake Prince: People living in wheelchairs, living in beds five, 10 years, bedbound, or can't walk for a couple years.
- 5:25Jake Prince: And every doctor I went to needs to say, I need surgery.
- 5:27Jake Prince: We come in, hey, we can find out the root cause and next thing you know, they're walking in a few days or a week, life back.
- 5:32Jake Prince: So really it's just being a student.
- 5:35Jake Prince: I tell my kids I have three kids.
- 5:36Jake Prince: Is you gotta be a continual student of life, right?
- 5:40Jake Prince: And really, a lot of times I learn, we learn by failing.
- 5:43Jake Prince: And I tell my team, I'm okay if you fail, because that's how we're learning, right?
- 5:47Jake Prince: But if you keep making the same mistake now, then I have a problem, right?
- 5:51Jake Prince: But if you're messing up, that's okay.
- 5:52Jake Prince: As long as you're learning from'em.
- 5:53Jake Prince: I tell my kids, Hey, I want you to mess up'cause that's how you're gonna learn.
- 5:56Jake Prince: You don't learn by winning.
- 5:57Jake Prince: And so really, I've learned how we've learned to be one of the top in the top 1% of clinics in all the world, is by really just failing and continue to go back to the board and say, what are we gonna do different next time?
- 6:10Jake Prince: This didn't work.
- 6:10Jake Prince: What are we gonna do next time?
- 6:11Jake Prince: And keep tweaking.
- 6:13Jake Prince: And in the health side, like everybody's different and we're one of the very few, you'll hear us say this, but you'll hear it a lot, say a lot more.
- 6:18Jake Prince: As people become enlightened at this, everybody's body's different And every body feels differently, and you can't have a cookie cutter approach within our scope of medicine, of regenerative and functional medicine.
- 6:28Jake Prince: It doesn't work that way.
- 6:28Jake Prince: It's not like traditional medicine.
- 6:30Jake Prince: That's why the traditional medicine model's broken it sucks and it keeps getting worse and worse here in the US we invest 4 point something billion dollars a year in it, more than our own military.
- 6:39Jake Prince: But yet it's people get sicker and sicker.
- 6:41Jake Prince: Like it's common sense.
- 6:42Jake Prince: It doesn't work.
- 6:43Jake Prince: I think just continuing to be a student and learn.
- 6:45Jake Prince: My wife she'll study 2 hours a day, at least me, I'm learning.
- 6:48Jake Prince: I had a doctor.
- 6:49Jake Prince: I'm always being a student and I'm trying to learn how to trade stocks right now, right?
- 6:53Jake Prince: I see so much potential there.
- 6:54Jake Prince: And one of my doctors come to me, I was telling him what I made and he's man, no way.
- 6:58Jake Prince: And I just started too.
- 6:59Jake Prince: I just started managing my own finances and he's like, man, I gotta learn how to do that.
- 7:04Jake Prince: I was like, yeah guess what?
- 7:05Jake Prince: This is what I'm doing every night.
- 7:07Jake Prince: I'm not watching tv.
- 7:08Jake Prince: I'm not watching reels.
- 7:10Jake Prince: I'm studying, I'm learning.
- 7:11Jake Prince: I'm trying to craft a skillset, and I think that's all it is continuing to craft a skillset.
- 7:16Tom Jackobs: Yeah, keep that brain alive.
- 7:18Tom Jackobs: The neuroplasticity just keeping that active.
- 7:21Jake Prince: Absolutely.
- 7:22Tom Jackobs: So I'd like to go back just a little bit.
- 7:24Tom Jackobs: So you started Prince Health in, so eight years ago, so 2018, 17, somewhere around there.
- 7:32Jake Prince: I got shut down for a branding issue.
- 7:34Jake Prince: I had no idea.
- 7:35Jake Prince: This big company came out to sued me'cause I had my brand was get aligned.
- 7:39Jake Prince: That was our business name.
- 7:40Tom Jackobs: oh yeah.
- 7:41Jake Prince: And then there was another company in the Northeast, same name.
- 7:44Jake Prince: I had no idea.
- 7:46Tom Jackobs: Okay.
- 7:46Jake Prince: They come at, shut us down.
- 7:48Jake Prince: A bunch of laws do stuff.
- 7:48Jake Prince: So we had to shut down and rebrand, regroup, reset.
- 7:51Jake Prince: And we did then COVID hit, right?
- 7:53Jake Prince: So it was just after.
- 7:55Tom Jackobs: I was gonna say how is your name Prince Health?
- 7:57Tom Jackobs: That doesn't seem like a trademark infringement.
- 7:59Tom Jackobs: But you said it was, they get aligned.
- 8:01Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 8:02Tom Jackobs: Interesting.
- 8:03Tom Jackobs: So what was the transition, before you opened the business, what was that like, and what was the decision to open the business with you and your wife?
- 8:11Jake Prince: Good question.
- 8:12Jake Prince: So as a public speaker and I travel around speaking a lot.
- 8:15Jake Prince: I was also involved a lot in the nonprofit world, as well.
- 8:19Jake Prince: And my territory where I live is in Texas, pretty big territory.
- 8:23Jake Prince: Texas is a lot bigger in most countries.
- 8:26Tom Jackobs: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:27Jake Prince: That was what kind of went I was doing public speaking and sharing and working in mission work and nonprofit work and things like that.
- 8:33Jake Prince: And my wife had a small clinic.
- 8:36Jake Prince: I opened a small clinic for her.
- 8:37Jake Prince: Very small.
- 8:38Jake Prince: Just something to do.
- 8:39Jake Prince: We had two newborn kids and started her to work like 5 hours a week.
- 8:42Jake Prince: Just something to do.
- 8:43Jake Prince: She went to school like 12 years.
- 8:44Jake Prince: You gotta put that to use, right?
- 8:46Jake Prince: And then I was what was I doing?
- 8:48Jake Prince: She was being a mom and then practicing a little bit, I stepped in the clinic in 2019, in July or June to build relationships because I was planning house churches across our city through community groups and stuff, relational groups through our community and beyond.
- 9:03Jake Prince: And she got sick.
- 9:04Jake Prince: She got on a medical device where we were gonna implement in the clinic.
- 9:08Jake Prince: This was in July.
- 9:08Jake Prince: I stepped in for 5 hours a week just to build relationships and invite people to do'em, to jump in get in with us, what we're doing around the community.
- 9:15Jake Prince: And she went to another clinic of ours, friend of ours in a community, tried a device, they put it on her a vagus nerve.
- 9:21Jake Prince: It threw her into just a spiral.
- 9:23Jake Prince: Her body to tremors, having convulsions right there in a place that they didn't know what was going on.
- 9:27Jake Prince: Freaked out, went to the hospital, bodies just all over the place coming off the ground and doctors couldn't figure out what was going on.
- 9:35Jake Prince: Threw us into a whirlwind and I started us on a journey trying to figure out what's going on.
- 9:40Jake Prince: She started having uncontrollable convulsions, tremors, throwing up continually all the time.
- 9:46Jake Prince: She's type one diabetic, had diabetes type one diabetes since she was four, caused by a virus or a pathogen or something she might have picked up at that time that triggered the body.
- 9:53Jake Prince: And so that put us on a journey of trying to figure out what in the world is going on and I haven't had any idea at the same time.
- 9:59Jake Prince: We got kicked out of our clinic where we were in.
- 10:01Jake Prince: And then, so I just stepped in just to serve like, hey, I had a lot going on too, a whole lot.
- 10:06Jake Prince: I was very busy and that's my main priority to serve my wife.
- 10:10Jake Prince: So I was in the hospital a lot and I was like.
- 10:11Jake Prince: Trying to work with our team a little bit.
- 10:13Jake Prince: Hey, what do we do?
- 10:13Jake Prince: I'd step in, answer phone calls, reschedule appointments, trying to get a coverage, doctor come in and given I'd never had any experience with any of this, so I just started trying to, fill the gap.
- 10:22Jake Prince: One thing led to the next and we just kept pressing forward and my daughter, my wife would get well again and she'd step in clinic, start serving again, and boom, get hit again.
- 10:31Jake Prince: And as this started, what happened?
- 10:33Jake Prince: The trajectory has set us up to be so successful'cause we've had to learn a lot through our own health journey.
- 10:37Jake Prince: You know, when she got hit in 2019, she was in a hospital on average of 2 months, through september, October, November, December or not two months, two weeks out every month.
- 10:46Jake Prince: And that year she was in the hospital half a year.
- 10:49Jake Prince: This is fine.
- 10:50Jake Prince: We have a full clinic.
- 10:50Jake Prince: She's the main doctor.
- 10:51Jake Prince: So I had to figure out how to pivot.
- 10:54Jake Prince: All these challenges, right?
- 10:56Jake Prince: While keeping my kids and my wife and all them taking care of all them.
- 11:01Jake Prince: And so, 2022 was like a quarter of the year and all this, and we just kept being misdiagnosed.
- 11:07Jake Prince: The traditional medical route.
- 11:09Jake Prince: And finally we just kept learning and trying to get to the root ourselves because everywhere we go is a dead end block and just back and forth with neurological neurosurgeons and just so many different doctors and specialists around the country.
- 11:22Jake Prince: Just couldn't figure it out.
- 11:22Jake Prince: Every doctor just diagnosed their, what?
- 11:25Jake Prince: Their knowledge and what they thought, but it was never a root.
- 11:28Tom Jackobs: Right.
- 11:29Jake Prince: That's how we became on a journey.
- 11:31Jake Prince: We're on to where we are today, is just'cause of our own health journey.
- 11:34Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 11:35Tom Jackobs: Oh wow.
- 11:35Tom Jackobs: That's what a journey too and to be able to grow a business from, basically being kicked out of your clinic to a$2 million a year operation in a matter of five years.
- 11:47Tom Jackobs: That's unheard of, isn't it?
- 11:49Jake Prince: Yeah, it is very unheard of in our world.
- 11:52Jake Prince: A lot of people think doctors make a lot of money.
- 11:53Jake Prince: They don't.
- 11:55Jake Prince: If you're doing, if you're doing it, getting money to make money, you're in the wrong business.
- 11:59Jake Prince: But I think most businesses statistically fail after one year.
- 12:01Jake Prince: But increasing.
- 12:02Jake Prince: Two years, three years, four years and going against us, my wife's health
- 12:05Tom Jackobs: yeah.
- 12:06Jake Prince: now the doctor's hospital COVID.
- 12:07Jake Prince: And then being kicked outta our own buildings where we're serving.
- 12:11Jake Prince: I had, I didn't have a lot of big P&L to show that I could support getting a big commercial lease.
- 12:15Jake Prince: Especially where we are.
- 12:16Jake Prince: We live in a bubble.
- 12:18Jake Prince: In the Woodlands here, um, average household medium income is like 150,000, 40,000.
- 12:23Jake Prince: Things aren't cheap around here.
- 12:24Jake Prince: And it was really God's grace really.
- 12:26Jake Prince: I gave him all the glory.
- 12:28Jake Prince: That sustained us, that got us through all this, that we had people come around us.
- 12:32Jake Prince: I couldn't get any private lending.
- 12:33Jake Prince: I had people step up.
- 12:35Jake Prince: Private investors.
- 12:36Jake Prince: So I learned a lot about that.
- 12:37Jake Prince: Through that, that helped me out get going as well.
- 12:40Jake Prince: But really it's really the grace of God to be where we are today in the top 1%.
- 12:45Jake Prince: Under that, really.
- 12:47Jake Prince: But, your average clinics make only 350,000 a year, right?
- 12:50Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 12:51Jake Prince: Regenerative Clinic may hack half a million.
- 12:53Jake Prince: Is the industry average, right?
- 12:54Jake Prince: Chiropractic, which we do chiropractic as well, is only 350,000 a year.
- 12:58Jake Prince: Your wellness club didn't even make that.
- 13:00Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 13:00Jake Prince: I don't even know how they keep the lights on.
- 13:02Jake Prince: It's really, I think the whole point is God's grace in our position to serve that.
- 13:06Jake Prince: Going back to your first question, the heart is just willing to serve people and not not give up.
- 13:10Tom Jackobs: But that's at the heart of your business as well is serving with heart.
- 13:14Tom Jackobs: And I see that over and over with a lot of businesses that, if they're focused on the profit, they'll have issues like what you just described, and they'd be gone out because it they, their heart isn't in it.
- 13:26Tom Jackobs: So they're like, oh, big problem.
- 13:27Tom Jackobs: I'm out.
- 13:28Tom Jackobs: Then they'd go do something else, fail, do something else.
- 13:31Tom Jackobs: And it's always this kind of cycle.
- 13:33Tom Jackobs: But when you have a heart end into it you go into it and you're like, I'm gonna make this happen.
- 13:37Tom Jackobs: I'm gonna make it work.
- 13:38Tom Jackobs: And that definitely sounds like what you and your wife went through as well in building that business up.
- 13:43Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 13:44Jake Prince: I never planned on getting enough Regenerative Functional Medicine
- 13:46Tom Jackobs: Oh.
- 13:47Jake Prince: To be honest, I never thought I'd get in here, and even in here, but I got into functional regenerative side of things because.
- 13:52Jake Prince: I seen that's the only thing that was helping my wife, right?
- 13:54Jake Prince: So we're traveling around the country.
- 13:56Jake Prince: We go, we thought we'd go a holistic, functional route.
- 13:58Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 13:59Jake Prince: And that was like doing ozone therapy, IV ozone therapy open up the detox pathways, looking at a lot of genetics and different things like that.
- 14:06Jake Prince: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- 14:08Jake Prince: And these doctors were, do 50, a hundred thousand plans to help my wife with no guarantee.
- 14:12Jake Prince: I was like, man, I can't, I'm not cashflow that outta my pocket, but I was like, man, if I can see what they're doing, I can replicate in my own clinic.
- 14:18Jake Prince: I seen what others were doing and I would just, all right, hey, they say you need 30 sessions of hyperbaric, and this is why, oxygen is the absence of disease.
- 14:25Jake Prince: So we've learned so much through this journey.
- 14:27Jake Prince: It is the cutting edge of we're on the tip of the spear, the cutting edge of the future of health, for sure.
- 14:33Jake Prince: I was like, okay, if we get oxygen to the source of her symptoms, it's gonna start eradicating a lot of the pathogens and viruses she had in her body.
- 14:39Jake Prince: So what happened was her cup was so full.
- 14:42Jake Prince: With viruses, Epstein Barr, Lyme disease, she had three strands of Lyme's disease.
- 14:46Jake Prince: She had strep.
- 14:47Jake Prince: She had all this toxin built up in her.
- 14:49Jake Prince: And so what happened was and she had type one diabetes.
- 14:54Jake Prince: When they put that device on her vagus nerve there, it threw her nervous system in a over shock, which just her cup was already full.
- 15:00Jake Prince: We just didn't know it.
- 15:02Jake Prince: And boom.
- 15:03Jake Prince: Just exploded her body and her body was not able to ever come down into like homeostasis and to really repair.
- 15:10Jake Prince: And so it took us years to figure this out.
- 15:13Jake Prince: But a lot of what she's experienced is through pathogens and viruses, which we believe is leading cause in our philosophy of cancer.
- 15:19Jake Prince: And a lot of, autoimmune disorders, all that is because of that.
- 15:23Jake Prince: They're pestilence they're plagues.
- 15:25Jake Prince: And I just started implementing in, okay, if this is gonna help with this pathogen, help me get to the root of this pathogen, this Epstein Barr, and I gotta do this.
- 15:33Jake Prince: And I said, let's try it out.
- 15:34Jake Prince: So I'd, get some finance and buy this piece of equipment.
- 15:36Jake Prince: We'd do all the protocols, learn all the protocols and procedures, and I would just start working, implementing my clinic.
- 15:42Jake Prince: And then people started coming in, calling us, Hey, my daughter can't get outta bed.
- 15:46Jake Prince: She hasn't been outta bed, she hasn't been in school in two years.
- 15:49Jake Prince: And we bring her in, do some lab tests.
- 15:52Jake Prince: Found out, oh man, you got her Epstein Barr counts are extremely high.
- 15:55Jake Prince: She's got Lyme disease, whatever.
- 15:57Jake Prince: And we're like, Hey, we're seeing incredible results with this.
- 15:59Jake Prince: We've seen our own life.
- 16:00Jake Prince: I have Epstein in my whole life as well.
- 16:02Jake Prince: Back in 2022, I got Epstein Barr virus.
- 16:05Jake Prince: Right after COVID, I had long COVID.
- 16:08Jake Prince: Which cause all kind of issues, health issues, long COVID.
- 16:10Jake Prince: COVID, It's a manmade, deal.
- 16:13Jake Prince: And once I had got COVID, it triggered Epstein Barr in me, which I already had, but it wasn't bothering me at all.
- 16:17Jake Prince: You don't wanna shake wake a bear up unless you just have to.
- 16:21Jake Prince: And so when I did my Epstein Barr counts went way up.
- 16:24Jake Prince: So I struggled a lot with fatigue.
- 16:26Jake Prince: I couldn't work out.
- 16:27Jake Prince: If I got worked out, I'd be very, it took me three days to recover.
- 16:30Jake Prince: I'd have hot flashes all the time, feel like I needed 10 hours of sleep.
- 16:33Jake Prince: Very fatigued all the time.
- 16:35Jake Prince: Fever like symptoms.
- 16:36Jake Prince: All these things that these, viruses caused.
- 16:38Jake Prince: I had to get to my root of my own issues and I was able to do that through what we've learned.
- 16:43Jake Prince: Of course doing IV Ozone on therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy different things like that.
- 16:47Jake Prince: Stem cells, of course we do a lot of stem cells in our clinic.
- 16:50Jake Prince: That's really helped regenerate the body and help and healing for sure.
- 16:52Jake Prince: I know that's a lot of information there.
- 16:54Tom Jackobs: No, that that's great.
- 16:55Tom Jackobs: And a couple points in there that I wanna really highlight for the audience is and this is a really great business strategy that you have.
- 17:02Tom Jackobs: You have the clinic, your wife is having these issues.
- 17:06Tom Jackobs: You see the equipment and the therapies.
- 17:08Tom Jackobs: So you bring that into your clinic.
- 17:10Tom Jackobs: So you're financing her care through the clinic in a way, and building the clinic up at the same time, getting your own experience and your own testimonials on the effectiveness of that therapy, which I think is absolutely brilliant, is what every business owner should do when they have a problem.
- 17:28Tom Jackobs: You, you saw a problem, you saw the solution, you brought that solution into your own clinic and help yourself, but also help others at the same time.
- 17:36Jake Prince: I wouldn't plan that way.
- 17:37Jake Prince: I didn't have a business plan, but I like the way you say it, Tom.
- 17:39Jake Prince: That's a good way to put it.
- 17:40Jake Prince: I never thought of it that way, but yeah, you're exactly right.
- 17:43Jake Prince: That's what happened.
- 17:43Jake Prince: I tell people if you wanna be in the business, just find out a problem.
- 17:47Jake Prince: Where's your problem at in your area, your community, or your area?
- 17:50Jake Prince: And just fix them, meet the problem.
- 17:52Jake Prince: You know I tell my daughter all the time, I'm training her up to be an entrepreneur.
- 17:55Jake Prince: She just turned 16.
- 17:56Jake Prince: We have, we all have an iPhone, right?
- 17:58Jake Prince: Or phone, right?
- 17:59Jake Prince: Whenever these things come out.
- 18:00Jake Prince: But when they came out, they didn't have phone cases, right?
- 18:03Jake Prince: So everybody's dropping'em, breaking them, busting them all the time.
- 18:06Jake Prince: I said, somebody got a brilliant idea.
- 18:07Jake Prince: I said, Hey.
- 18:09Jake Prince: I got a solution maybe.
- 18:10Jake Prince: So these phones don't break every time they're dropped and they created a phone case.
- 18:14Jake Prince: Like how brilliant of an idea is that now it's probably a multi-billion dollar, multi-million dollar industry.
- 18:19Jake Prince: 'cause somebody had a great idea, Hey, I'm gonna make a case for that so when I drop, it doesn't break.
- 18:23Jake Prince: Now everybody has one, right?
- 18:25Jake Prince: It's just a simple issue with a simple fix, right?
- 18:28Jake Prince: He's Hey, I can fix that.
- 18:30Jake Prince: And that's all I did, right?
- 18:31Jake Prince: What's, where's there a problem at?
- 18:32Jake Prince: And how do I help meet that?
- 18:34Jake Prince: And that's all.
- 18:34Jake Prince: That's all what we do.
- 18:35Jake Prince: What we do is all, we're just here to serve others.
- 18:38Tom Jackobs: That's awesome.
- 18:38Tom Jackobs: How old's your daughter?
- 18:39Tom Jackobs: 16 You said.
- 18:40Jake Prince: Just turned 16.
- 18:41Jake Prince: Yeah.
- 18:41Jake Prince: You can pray for me.
- 18:42Jake Prince: So you just started driving?
- 18:44Tom Jackobs: Oh my gosh.
- 18:45Jake Prince: Six foot, six foot, 140 pounds.
- 18:47Jake Prince: So it's just like.
- 18:47Tom Jackobs: Oh my gosh.
- 18:49Jake Prince: Sports and all that, so yeah, you can all kind, I'm getting into the realm now of life where these guys are always asking to date her and take her out and all this, they just don't know my guns are loaded.
- 18:57Tom Jackobs: Get her back.
- 18:59Tom Jackobs: Oh, wow.
- 19:00Tom Jackobs: And it is great to, to teach.
- 19:02Tom Jackobs: I'm sure she sees you and your wife at the clinic and the entrepreneurial spirit has to absorb into her soul and her heart at the same time.
- 19:13Jake Prince: Yeah, absolutely.
- 19:14Jake Prince: I she had a baking business this summer when she's outta school in our clinic.
- 19:19Jake Prince: Every week she would bring'em up here and sell'em in clinic and you know, uh, So just helping her, craft and develop a skillset, mindset of that entrepreneur, building that entrepreneur fostering that entrepreneurial spirit in her.
- 19:31Jake Prince: That's what I'm hoping she'll be.
- 19:32Jake Prince: Who knows?
- 19:33Jake Prince: I'm gonna support her whatever decision she makes, of course.
- 19:35Jake Prince: But I'm trying to foster her into, to doing more.
- 19:38Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 19:39Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 19:39Tom Jackobs: Oh that's awesome.
- 19:41Tom Jackobs: One, one other question here.
- 19:42Tom Jackobs: So looking back at all the different failures that you've had with the business, which one do you think shaped you the most?
- 19:52Jake Prince: All the failures I've had in the business, what shaped me the most?
- 19:56Jake Prince: That's a great question.
- 19:58Jake Prince: I found out, I just didn't know.
- 20:00Jake Prince: Nobody taught me how to run a business or anything.
- 20:03Jake Prince: Is really having a team around you has more knowledge and understanding than you do in areas is incredibly like by far invaluable, right?
- 20:12Jake Prince: Like having a good tax attorney, having a great business attorney in your pocket, having a great accountant, bookkeeper.
- 20:18Jake Prince: You know, I used to try to keep my own books and man, I sucked at it and I hated it.
- 20:22Jake Prince: I was like, and so just finding those putting those people around you with greater skill sets that you don't have And more knowledge and understanding that you don't have around you to help you, move the ship in the right direction together, with everyone on the same page, playing off the same sheet of music is incredible.
- 20:40Jake Prince: And I didn't know that time and so I made a lot of mistakes, financial mistakes and a lot of different things just because, I wasn't inviting others to come join on Mission with us.
- 20:49Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 20:49Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 20:49Jake Prince: Like your team, Hey, I'm here in the States, your team's quite some ways away, but we're still the same team on mission.
- 20:55Jake Prince: Yep.
- 20:56Jake Prince: That's what I love.
- 20:56Jake Prince: I have team members, my HR director she doesn't live in my area.
- 21:00Jake Prince: She lives in another state actually.
- 21:02Jake Prince: I have other team members that live in other states that do stuff virtually like.
- 21:06Jake Prince: But we're all on mission, all on the same team.
- 21:08Jake Prince: And I think that's what it's all about, is knowing that we're all on the same team and working together for a greater cause.
- 21:16Tom Jackobs: Yeah and that, that's a great point because entrepreneurship, a lot of times people think that they need to do everything by themselves, and that's such a bad, bad advice number one.
- 21:27Tom Jackobs: If that is advice that people give, but it's also just shortsighted as well, because we can't do everything by ourself if we're gonna scale and help other people.
- 21:35Tom Jackobs: So yeah, having, yeah, having a great team around you is super, super important.
- 21:40Jake Prince: Yeah.
- 21:41Jake Prince: And I think like you've been with me, we've been together for a while, so we've grown a lot, together.
- 21:44Jake Prince: Just since we've been working, I've grown, 36% average a year.
- 21:48Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 21:49Jake Prince: And your team's been incredibly helpful in helping meet a lot of those gaps and being on the front lines with us.
- 21:56Tom Jackobs: Thanks.
- 21:56Jake Prince: Even my team's in the office, how your team's able to always be available on the weekends and nights, and patients may need something.
- 22:02Jake Prince: Somebody is there to be listening ear for them and help guide and direct'em.
- 22:06Jake Prince: So it's been incredible absolutely.
- 22:07Tom Jackobs: Awesome.
- 22:08Tom Jackobs: Cool.
- 22:08Tom Jackobs: Thank you for that, Jake, and thank you so much for your spending your time and sharing your wisdom with the audience today.
- 22:15Tom Jackobs: How can people learn more about Prince Health and the different therapies and regenerated regenerative therapies that you have?
- 22:23Jake Prince: Yeah, I'd say just go to our website princehealth.org.
- 22:27Jake Prince: It'll give a mountaintop view of what we do.
- 22:29Jake Prince: There's a lot we do that we don't share all our harrieses for other reasons.
- 22:32Jake Prince: I get enough people that may knock on my door, I don't need a bunch of people knocking on it, especially unwanted knocks.
- 22:37Jake Prince: But yeah, go to princehealth.org.
- 22:39Jake Prince: Like I said, we're helping people get to the root of their problems.
- 22:41Jake Prince: We're a root cause clinic is what we do.
- 22:42Jake Prince: So cancer, autoimmune you name it wanna avoid surgery.
- 22:47Jake Prince: You name it.
- 22:47Jake Prince: That's what we do.
- 22:48Jake Prince: We treat a lot of patients are very healthy.
- 22:49Jake Prince: We have a saying here hashtags take charge of your health.
- 22:53Jake Prince: If you're not, you're either going forward in your health or you're going back.
- 22:55Jake Prince: There's no just medium, right?
- 22:56Jake Prince: And you have to be proactive in it.
- 22:58Jake Prince: And so we have a lot of patients, pro-athletes, Olympian athletes, you name it CEOs, military people of all walks of life, bankers, you name it, stay-at-home moms.
- 23:07Jake Prince: They're just they're great.
- 23:09Jake Prince: They're doing good right now.
- 23:10Jake Prince: They're invested in long-term health.
- 23:11Jake Prince: See so many people retire and come in here, have to spend their whole life savings on trying to get their health back right When, if they would have just invested in it little by little over the years, they'd be so much farther ahead and doing exactly what they wanna do in retirement, what they're passionate about, and yeah.
- 23:28Tom Jackobs: Yeah.
- 23:28Tom Jackobs: That's beautiful.
- 23:29Tom Jackobs: Awesome.
- 23:30Tom Jackobs: Again, Jake, thank you so much for joining us today and yeah, thanks so much.
- 23:35Jake Prince: Thank you for having me, Tom.
