- 4:35[SPEAKER_05]: Now, AN-1240, W-A-T-N, and 92-7-W-Q-T-K, present the hotline.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_05]: Sponsored by Herringer's Contracting, the roof people who call you back, L-A-Q-R-E, the destination for all your crushed limestone in the North Country, and Watertown Appliance, the proud studio sponsor for the hotline with Jeff Graham.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the hotline with Jeff Graham is right here, and that is me.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: On a Tuesday, as we head into this last...
- 5:04[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's not officially the last week of summer, but the last week before Labor Day, I want to remind you, Glenn and I won't be here Friday for various reasons, but I'm sure you want to get ahead to start in the weekend, so that's not going to bother you too much.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_04]: What is going on in the City of Watertown?
- 5:20[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I'm trying to follow these things out in the town of Watertown, that is, and I guess there's more coming out in the next 24 hours on all that.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_04]: holy cow millions of dollars misappropriated and all the developer and one developer now all the the developer who owns various town boards and the ideas now suing them it's incredible but here in the city the city manager Eric Wagner a noted deer tracker he has fired the public works superintendent
- 5:54[SPEAKER_04]: The word fired is not mine, it's being used on channel 7 and in the water town time.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm, it's not just saying departed or left or whatever, it's fired.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_04]: That's the word, the main street media is using, so I will use it too.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I don't know, was it the speed bumps that did Brian McEwen, you know, they covered on that for over a year.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_04]: No, I am July of 25, and well, we're doing a investigation, and they knew what happened.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_04]: They knew who ordered him in there, and then the results were reports of Lomerallin the department.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_04]: And it was that whole thing with the Refuge service, but I had trying to deep-six that and everything.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_04]: City Council was not happy, and some City Council members were not happy further up the food chain either, but he's untouchable, so
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: This McEugh guy had to walk, had to walk the plank this morning.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: And that's a big job.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: That's a six-figured job, and just, you know, Piddly stuff.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_04]: So anybody know anything about it?
- 7:03[SPEAKER_04]: Anybody care?
- 7:04[SPEAKER_04]: Probably not.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_04]: I would leave now, Karen Overton.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know her.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_04]: She's from Daxter, so she meets the number one requirement of Mr. Wagner, she lives out of town.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_04]: She's going to be the interim superintendent.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_04]: Remember, she was the one that went down to her Albany for a New York Conference of Mayor's things a couple of months ago and accepted the award on the behalf of the mayor for trash collection.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_04]: So, I don't know, or probably a very nice person.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_04]: I can see that all people in this are nice people.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_04]: So, anyway, she's in there.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_04]: I thought you'd want to call like an experienced old hand who could kind of fit in for a little while like a peat monoco.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, not looking for anything long-term, could have filled the void in the short-term.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_04]: But, Mr. Monoco, campaigned for council last year and didn't exactly gain favorship with the third floor.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, I would leave the position blank and try to make up some money, try to build up some reserves.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, don't be runnin' out and have to fill it and hire somebody.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_04]: And this is where I disagree with.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_04]: I agree that in government, you can have situations where people get elected and don't know what they're doing.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_04]: It happens out in the towns all the time.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_04]: But, and you've got to have some check and balance.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_04]: I get that, professional and whatever.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_04]: But I really think the decisions need to be made by people who are elected by the people.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_04]: Now, this guy's going to go out and hire somebody as DPW superintendent.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_04]: The council will have no say in it.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_04]: And then Ben Schoen will tell me, well, you know, as he's jobbed out here, we don't.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_04]: And he's right.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_04]: But I don't know.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_04]: I'd leave it vacant for a while.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_04]: things like this don't happen in city government or any government.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_04]: There are low-level people who have gotten rid of and for whatever reason, but something must have been a miss in the mind of the third floor to fire the sky.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_04]: It's that simple.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_10]: Now, it hasn't reached the consciousness of the city yet because you've got to wait for it to be in the news for
- 9:35[SPEAKER_04]: And it's on the time's website news showing to you all of that so I don't know much more about it.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know the man.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_04]: I've never met him.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing against him.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't think the promotion of the Refuge Service was that good.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't think it was a good idea to put speed bumps in but they did and it cost a city over a million dollars.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, since one of those things, and we'll say, well, you know, you got to leave government to the professionals now looking at the town of water town, and I'm told more is coming out later today.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, the cow, what are they doing out there?
- 10:21[SPEAKER_04]: Money checkbooks all over and everything else is this the way all the towns are on?
- 10:27[SPEAKER_04]: And then we had last night at the county ledge meeting, one of the legislators,
- 10:32[SPEAKER_04]: got up and said it's annoying to have to run for office every two years.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_04]: It's too much work.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_04]: Don't run.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you've got an easy PC job.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_04]: The party gets your petitions done for you.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_04]: You collect money and benefits and all that.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I don't mind that, but don't run if it's too annoying to like one veteran of the Republican party told me today
- 10:58[SPEAKER_04]: Mr. Montagelli, I think he represents Black River and I don't know too much about him.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_04]: I think he had met him.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_04]: So, well, let's see what we got here.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he was given his seat because he was on the town of La Rébord and not wanted there and he was picked over a guy, another guy.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_04]: Well, anyway, he was put on there.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_04]: but he says it's annoying and stressful to run for office.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_04]: I'm having run a few times.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_04]: All I can say to Mr. Montagelli is, come on man, what are you thinking?
- 11:40[SPEAKER_04]: What are you thinking saying something like that?
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon, Ronier.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_07]: I just want to talk about my experience with the Watertown Daily Times yesterday and today.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_07]: I'm an online subscriber.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_07]: People wasn't available when I got up in the morning.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_07]: call subscriptions and they said we're told it'll be ready by 10 o'clock.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_07]: Well, it wasn't.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_07]: It's still not.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_07]: I call it this morning.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_07]: I said, I don't have guest service paper in order to have today's paper.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_07]: And the customer service wrap which I used to turn lightly said, you should do it on mine.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_07]: I should know.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_07]: It's not.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, it's on mine.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_07]: And that went on for one more cycle.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_07]: And
- 12:26[SPEAKER_07]: And he said, well, then you have to recite or sign in two, and then you want three, sixty.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_07]: So I did three times and it gave me a limited use of their website with no front page up to you.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I... Not the first time has happened.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'm looking at it now and they have the public work story and some other things.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, I got my...
- 12:55[SPEAKER_04]: paper copy of the paper today.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_06]: I know that.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_04]: So it is very difficult in media now because there's media has been eviscerated by budgetary cuts and there isn't much of it left.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_04]: So you're lucky to get what you get.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_04]: That's why I say we live in a news desert up there.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_07]: and I'd just want to say one thing about customer service, they're not customer service.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_07]: Focus, they're lazy, they want to pass you off to somebody else who may or may not answer.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_07]: I think they really, really gloss their way.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_07]: Provide some main motives.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_07]: They probably open up, maybe another McDonald's someplace in the county.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_07]: This is ridiculous.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_04]: already well i i'm sorry it happened on behalf of them but uh... i hope they get it fixed you got it you got to get you news from a variety of sources the hotline my blog news junkies another one as well as the mainstream media you got to look at all of them because you're not gonna get a full plate of news for any of it's either going to go there
- 14:08[SPEAKER_04]: Well, okay.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_04]: Well, good luck with it.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_04]: I know.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's a tough thing.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_04]: It's a tough thing.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I was looking at the Times website.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_04]: They got the superintendent's stories first.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_04]: Then there's one police chief urges drivers to be aware of school returns.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_04]: Look at that said, oh, okay.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_04]: That's good.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_04]: We're doing a little proactive stuff.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_04]: The kids going, then I read it was the police chief of Malone.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_04]: And who was urging it?
- 14:34[SPEAKER_04]: Holy cow.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_04]: Roth Industries is going to do a little expanding.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_04]: That's a firm over by the jail city center industrial park good for them They're doing it because they're a successful company not because the economic developers made it happen So you know, it's a few more jobs and some good for them good for them.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_04]: I was just down that way because I had to stop at US food to get some chips
- 15:01[SPEAKER_04]: All right, well, let's see if, oh, we got a call coming in, but after doing it on the air.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, Jeff, I just wanted to reiterate what your last caller called about.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_09]: I had the same issue, but once you get to an NY 360, if you look at the menu, scroll to the
- 15:31[SPEAKER_09]: they changed their format but and i agree with him the customer service that i got was very relaxed so why i i mean it i i hate to see if they're going downhill we only get five papers a week now no Sunday edition i i've been a subscriber of the time since i was a paper board when i was 13 years old and uh...
- 16:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, okay.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_09]: I just think maybe I could help them out to, you know, find me find the menu, scroll to the bottom of that page.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_09]: Because the customer service was going to leave me at that.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_09]: Well, yeah, we changed their format.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_09]: Just go to an online 360 if you're a subscriber, but, you know, it's frustrating for us old people.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_04]: I know.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you're not getting any younger
- 16:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, I was talking to Councilman showing this morning.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_04]: I asked him about how was that other bathroom coming that he's supposed to be fixing because the city didn't want to bother.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_04]: Not done yet.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_04]: So he needs to get some new materials, some flanges for the fixtures because they were broken to us.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_04]: If somebody vandalized my bathroom, I'd have it fixed the next day.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_04]: But it's just the way I am.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_04]: Season will be over, then you don't have to worry about it, but you know, it's nice of them to volunteer his time and money and all that.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_04]: I'm looking for that E addition too, I'm here and I...
- 17:11[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not sure where you find any of that stuff.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_04]: It is confusing because the irony is that only older people want to see, are interested in the news, but it's more and more difficult to get the news.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_04]: Because I like a front page.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_04]: I just like to lay out of the stories and all of that.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_04]: It's different.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_04]: Different.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_04]: All righty, 75, 5, 12, 40, the phone number back with more in a moment.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_15]: You know, bad websites are wild.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_15]: Don't I mean, some websites have sliders moving in five directions.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_15]: I'm not browsing.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_15]: I'm trying to survive.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_15]: You know, once I make click contact us and got a PDF, a PDF.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_15]: I mean, who hurt you?
- 17:59[SPEAKER_15]: and stock photos, wow, why does every bad website have the same guy in a head said, spy like an absolutely nothing?
- 18:06[SPEAKER_15]: Who is he?
- 18:07[SPEAKER_15]: What does he do?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_15]: Why is he everywhere?
- 18:10[SPEAKER_15]: You know the sad part, most business owners don't even realize their website is the punchline.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_15]: You know, while they're losing customers, their contact form is playing hide and seek and their home page loads like it's powered by dial-up internet.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_13]: Your website should build confidence.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_13]: I'm material for stand-up comedy.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_13]: Talk to a webbie at Kaufflin before your customers laugh their way to a competitor.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_13]: Visit online.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_13]: Kaufflin.co.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_13]: That's Kaufflin.co.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_13]: Thank you.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_13]: You've been a great audience.

- 20:52[SPEAKER_04]: You know if you were in the newspaper business, a good headline for that story at City Hall today would be public works to saw our hit speed bump.

- 21:02[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_04]: Um, is that the reason?

- 22:55[SPEAKER_23]: Those are group of us that we went up to the fireworks.

- 23:30[SPEAKER_23]: Anyone is interested.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_23]: Yeah, take a look and come see us.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_23]: But as I said today, tomorrow in Friday we're having a fundraiser.

- 23:47[SPEAKER_04]: All right, sounds like you're doing the Lord's work.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you so much.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_23]: Absolutely, Jeff.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_23]: Thanks for listening to me.

- 24:21[SPEAKER_06]: I was just wondering, oh, whatever Apple could really smell the case, I never heard anything out of it.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_06]: No, it's just curious what happened.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_04]: Well, my understanding is it's supposed to go to trial and we'll call it a trial, sometime this month.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I thought it was back in August, but well, it got postponed.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know who's requesting the postponements, but
- 24:47[SPEAKER_06]: I was just curious, I had heard a thing I was out of town, I just had a jet would probably know what's going on.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, it's funny because there's two sides on the issue.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_04]: Some people on Milley's side say she was trying to do the right thing, did nothing wrong.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_04]: And then there's the back of the blue side who says she assaulted a cop, so I don't really know.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_06]: I don't really know.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_06]: I'm back her, I think, though.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_06]: She is a great thing.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_06]: I'm open up.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_06]: I was joking, so it would help me.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_06]: I was just curious.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's sometime in the middle of this month.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_04]: I'm I'll have to give her a call and ask her.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_06]: All right.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_06]: I appreciate your full.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you.

- 25:33[SPEAKER_04]: Quick wait over by the Rouse Building on Washington Street.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_04]: We'll see what happens.

- 26:21[SPEAKER_04]: And he determined he's here to have a little bloodletting and let's listen to them anymore.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_04]: So, anyway, see what happens.

- 29:47[SPEAKER_04]: The news in talk at Thorne.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_04]: I did get a text from him and we're in that Anthony Velasquez.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_04]: You ran for City Council.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_04]: It did pretty well for a newcomer to the politics.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_04]: Concerning the appointment of an interim public work superintendent who lives force outside the city Alaska said precedent is established apparently nobody is qualified in the city our dairy force people who work for the track spares to live among the taxpayers and that's social mean uh... you know this going to be in charge of plowing your streets this winter and all of that we don't know uh...
- 30:25[SPEAKER_04]: I would say leave the position vacant for a while to save some money, or get an old hand like Pete Monaco to come in and help out.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_04]: 755, 1240, the phone number, if you'd like to give us a year or so, it's not an easy job.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_04]: getting in trucks, you got to know how to maintain fleets and people and schedules and all of that.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_04]: I have no idea who this woman is who's now the interim superintendent, other than I saw her in except in a ward and Albany, that the mayor was supposed to accept.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_04]: But after doing her on the air, they do answer.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_04]: Good.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_04]: What's up?
- 31:14[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, just listening to the show.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_08]: Really?
- 31:16[SPEAKER_08]: I had a couple questions for you today.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_08]: you're talking about the shake up that city hall and my song is more a little worried or concern and paying attention to the shake up and the cabinet with President Trump and Secretary Driscoll and I kind of wanted your opinion on that because when somebody like that leaves an administration and they're not a Democrat they're not a holdover from Obama they're not
- 31:45[SPEAKER_08]: hold over to the clenze and there are a public and like Mr. Driscoll and a personal side of president Trump's alleged president J.D.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_08]: Vance.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_08]: You kind of think that something might be really wrong sir.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, as far as headset goes, I didn't like him when he was at Fox News doing a weekend shows.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's kind of a dick, but
- 32:10[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm not saying on policy.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's tried to toughen up the war department or defense department on some issues.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that was probably needed.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_04]: I get rid of the, you know, the people who want to specify war fighters, but there's other aspects.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_04]: He, there was something on Channel 7's news about he took some swipe at the Canadian military.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let it be, buddy, who the hell are you?
- 32:37[SPEAKER_04]: Well, all your tracks and your greasy hair and everything, who the hell are you?
- 32:40[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it's, I think that the grandiose of Pete Higg's softness, something that should be looked at.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_08]: He's very grandiose in his, you know, everything he says or does is huge.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_04]: You know, who I do like, though, the Treasury Secretary, uh, best sent.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_04]: Boy, he's, he's sharp as a tag.
- 33:00[UNKNOWN]: I think he's sharp, and I think that,
- 33:03[SPEAKER_08]: I think that what what he's doing with the economic situation and how he's turning it upside down and he's got everybody in his scope.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_08]: I think he's very smart too, I mean, I'm just concerned with the just goal situation right now.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_04]: Well, from what I, yeah, pushing him out or something like that about this me too, I don't know.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the administration's in there, the president seems to have confidence in
- 33:31[SPEAKER_04]: So that's kind of that.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I just wanted to do opinion.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_08]: I didn't know what you had to say for as far as that goes.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_08]: As far as the guys for public works here in Watertown, you know, and that guy didn't have an easy job.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_08]: You know, we'll don't take it.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not making it to do so for him.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_08]: He hasn't been gone that long.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_08]: And there is a lot of issues in the city, but
- 33:56[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, it's like that county legislator says it's annoying to run for office.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_04]: If you don't like it, if it's too annoying, you don't have to be there.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_08]: Well, it's funny that you mentioned that, because I think they're getting a little bit of what city council's been getting.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_08]: They're getting a lot of people coming to the floor if you haven't noticed.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_04]: Really?
- 34:16[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, oh, yeah, they're getting and it's actually some of the time news junkie, but it's thing going on.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_08]: I've seen the numbers come to the people that come into the floor, they're really starting here at the legislature now.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_04]: So, well, good, because that was kind of like a cloister body for years.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it is.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_08]: It's been one side and another thing too, I really like Bobby Ferris, okay.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_08]: I think he's a great guy in a great legislature.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_08]: And one thing he said a while ago, it did make sense where he said he couldn't see the city council governing, they're not governing, they're not getting along basically, right?
- 34:57[SPEAKER_08]: But I kind of think that's what's going on with the legislature, the legislature is doing correct now.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_08]: but you don't hear anything about it no you know go ask a person on the street who's your county legislator legislator or you're not going to get the answer yeah well i know what i know the uptick is i can tell you what it's from hey who's it who's it right about who's your county who's your county crime and it's really starting to affect the first responders the i mean imagine going to a nice situation and i don't know if he's three or some of these been stabbed in the liver that's a lot of block man
- 35:33[SPEAKER_04]: well who is uh... who's your county legislator hello hello can't hear you oh that's a non-fair question i guess i stumped him on that really i mean if you went up to a hundred people on the streets that who's your county legislator you'd be lucky to get five
- 36:03[SPEAKER_04]: 755-1240 is the phone number if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of shows today and don't forget school does start this week I think Thursday and water town and that's tomorrow other places other days whatever and you know you gotta be careful with the kids they're walking can be careful all year round but be a lot of them outwalking especially near the schools with all that craziness about everybody's gotta be driven to school now so there's a
- 36:32[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon, here on the air.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I lost ya.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_08]: I, I, it was my phone.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_08]: Do it, though.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, okay.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, so yeah, do it, though, it's my, you know, the other guy on the north side has a really nice business, really nice color watch.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_08]: You know, he's got his own grocery store.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_08]: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,
- 36:56[SPEAKER_04]: Alright, but just don't take a Snickers bar.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_04]: 7, 5, 5, 12, 40 is the phone number.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_04]: If you'd like to be on the air, the show of shows, the hotline, ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
- 37:23[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody said, I've never heard of a government employee getting fired in water challenge.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, without them getting huge settlements, and we hope he doesn't, um, I don't know know much about it.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how it was done, and by phone, by text, by whatever, it's, um, it just sort
- 37:54[SPEAKER_04]: And council members were learning from, in some cases, that I'm told, city employees and it spread around quickly, and I heard about it and it's tracking and you know, told a couple other people and eventually it got nailed down.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, who had a first doesn't really matter, but it sort of, like most things, it just sort of oozed out.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_04]: and i don't know i can't remember too many department has being fired but they're probably have been some you know i think i don't know i mean he'd think of any others over the years i can't oh well seven five five five five
- 38:52[SPEAKER_04]: I'd like to be on the air today.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we've talked about everything in the news.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_10]: I don't think there is much else, really, that the city council's up to.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_04]: It whatever happened to that zoo, or the not the zoo, but the golf course happens.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_04]: Is that still closing?
- 39:16[SPEAKER_04]: Because the season is almost here for closing, probably the end of October, I would say would.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_04]: be shutting down a golf course and they said we're going to close it and we haven't heard a thing since then.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_04]: And remember they said they were going to get bids for private owners to come in and call at least it.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_04]: We never heard anything and you're not going to.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_04]: So you just got to sit down and say we're there was another report that was out to this.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_04]: was doing pretty well financially, but is that because they're doing well or just doing deferred maintenance because they're not going to be open next year and saving on that regard.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_04]: But, be nice to know more.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_04]: I have no problem, and that's why I said when you get an opening or something, try to leave it vacant for a while so we can retain money to do things like keep the Gulf
- 40:17[SPEAKER_04]: This is not a federal government job, not every position has to be filled immediately.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just going to manage that fun balance by keeping him open for a little while.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let's see.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody texted in speed bump that he's got a nice retirement package, and we'll get a nice county or state job.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_04]: Well, maybe that may be, I don't know.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see what else we've got going on.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_04]: Just looking at these comments.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_04]: No, let's go over to the phone and see what other people are sending on the old tax messages.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody said they stayed fair.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_04]: I did we shut down temporarily today do the flooding That's unfortunate the fair seem to be doing pretty well.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_04]: Here's a person listen to your show all the time.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks Somebody else texted in the legislator.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_04]: I was questioning is a union brother.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_04]: So what?
- 41:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah
- 41:45[SPEAKER_10]: got to pay a fine and a five-year suspension of his license you don't need to drive tiger you got enough money you don't have to come on man but after noon you're on the air hey Jeff I worry good that a long time uh... this is Steve former resident of uh... one ninety nine wealth avenue uh... nothing to buy to ever
- 42:11[SPEAKER_10]: controversial, I just did want to make a comment on that W2TK, I drive a lot now, it's really nice I'm tuning in a lot more, and I think you're showing and Glenn beats the national stop right, you're here in the same right, stop over and over and over and over.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_10]: So I do like that that regional approach.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_10]: I hope this can develop more into that and I really like here in Tamiya Yesterday I guess you was I'm like one too.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, she seems pretty nice She didn't know Hawaii was yeah.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_04]: She didn't know Hawaii was part of the US Oh, that's all right.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_10]: I think she was troll on you.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, really Yeah, she's a smart girl
- 43:02[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I'm familiar with her from a local nonprofit, I bought her with, oh, she's like a, listen, I hate to say it, and I like her if I voted in that district I'd vote for it.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_04]: But, um, you know, she's, uh, gonna win.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_04]: She's gonna be in a member of assembly in a safe district.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_04]: You got to remember this forty two or forty four republicans and all of it in the assembly and i hate to say this because i don't want anybody to have a feeling serve a basically they function as potted plants they don't do anything maybe some can switch or work and that's important show up i was a little disappointed she'd never met the governor i think if you're going to be a member of the assembly whether you like the governor or not you should have met her at some point i think you know i think it will come
- 43:55[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I do think she's going to get in.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, very glad that I'm not in that district, but I would.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_04]: I should have given her the governor's address.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_04]: It's on Eagle Street, and I'm sure she wouldn't mind if she stopped by.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_10]: The other thing I did like is, you know, you're asking what's your opinion on this and it still was with Glenn a little bit, and she's like,
- 44:25[SPEAKER_10]: my opinions don't matter as much as those of my constituents and that's one thing I know about Tammy she's a real people person and got to respect that and I think even if it was something that she was hearing from constituents that she didn't particularly go along with I think she would fight for.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, she doesn't.
- 44:48[UNKNOWN]: Very honorable.
- 44:49[UNKNOWN]: So go to your any job.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, thank you so much.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate it so much.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, all right.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's good to hear from someone.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_04]: And the people listening on WQTK 92.7 in Ogden'sburg, you know, we've had people calling in from up around the res and over in governor.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_04]: And I think it's a good thing.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, you've got a place where you can call and get your voice heard.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_04]: And it also amplifies our impact on politics because now I was got these to say, well, that NY21 doesn't include water sound.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_04]: Well, our coverage area includes both NY21 and 24.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_04]: So, if you're interested in any of those races or the assembly race, you know, like that Neville Wannick, I mean, I have some of your, well, water towns not in that district.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_04]: I know it isn't, but Rutland is.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_04]: last time I looked at was right next door and and it stretches up north into parts of St. Lawrence County and over to Lewis County.

- 46:04[SPEAKER_04]: No?
- 46:07[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I thought that.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I thought that shake up in the city hall would get a little more interest, but maybe not.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_04]: You know, a lot of people say those things should be kept private, the public doesn't need to know.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe that's maybe it's true.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_04]: You know.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_04]: All righty.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, boy.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_04]: You got to give me a hundred topics here and I try to do what I can, you know.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_04]: We scour the news every morning.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_04]: Scour it, I tell you.

- 46:58[SPEAKER_04]: Tomorrow?
- 47:01[SPEAKER_04]: I told Glenn, so why don't you put a flyer in here and I'll pick it up and read it.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_04]: That way your client gets more value and all of that, but I don't know horn.

- 52:01[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of times people misunderstand that, and they say, well, well, they did it.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_04]: Why they plead not guilty?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_04]: You always plead not guilty.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, you're after, in many cases, but you always do.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_04]: At an agreement, you don't go in and plead guilty, but because there's cameras in the courtroom, it's a video story, so it's good.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_04]: That was a horrible tragedy.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_04]: I knew the victim.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_04]: She was a wonderful woman.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_04]: And this poor young woman, I mean, her life is ruined now too.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_04]: Anything on the Lindsey Clancy thing of the John.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_04]: Anything yet.

- 52:41[SPEAKER_04]: But after noon you're on the air.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_24]: Ah, that's it.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_24]: This saturation stops stuff.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_24]: It's like, oh yeah, we're going to give all these officers all kinds over time, thousands and thousands of dollars over time, and then we're going to try to get all these other people flying to stuff.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_24]: All you went to a barbecue in the entry beers, or I was better use your girlfriend driving to G.M.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_24]: And you know, it's just crazy, man.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_24]: I agree.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_24]: They don't think they got any worse problems around here to worry about.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_04]: No, I would think so, but apparently not.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_24]: Well, apparently not.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_24]: And also another thing about the zoo, on other radio stations, they commend everyone's day.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_24]: OK, well, why I'm not allowed to talk about it or say them?
- 53:30[SPEAKER_04]: If it's the other radio stations, no, because their person, lovely if she is, is also the PR person for the zoo.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, it's kind of, if they want to bring an animal in, they can.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_24]: when they listen to those things.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to hear about the other station.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_24]: Oh, okay.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_24]: I just want to say why don't they come in on your show?
- 53:53[SPEAKER_04]: They're more than welcome.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_04]: They're more than welcome.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks a lot.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_04]: I know.
- 53:56[UNKNOWN]: All right.
- 53:58[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_04]: They don't talk about me.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_04]: I don't talk about them.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_04]: We're competitors.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_04]: But I mean we're not friendly.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_04]: That's simple.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_04]: What they have on for programming is fine, but we have on is fine.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_04]: there.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_04]: 755, 1240, the phone number, if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of shows today.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_04]: And I'll look around yesterday I had somebody came in from she and beverages, I guess they're trying to smooth over their transition from eagle beverage and good for them to stop by.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_04]: But the guy pulled in, he said a deer was looking right in my parking lot.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_04]: So we not only have resin animals, we have live one in
- 54:43[SPEAKER_04]: So, I don't know, well, what else have we got going on here that you might want to talk about?
- 54:49[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have about six minutes left.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_04]: On a Tuesday, no Wednesday, hump day as we like to call it.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_04]: We don't like to, but just one of those old traditions in the industry.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_04]: 755, 1240, the phone number, if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_04]: And what do we get here?
- 55:12[SPEAKER_04]: Now, the state fair closes one Labor days at the last, I think that's the last day.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_04]: So this time to get down there, I mean, you know, tomorrow, tomorrow might be a good day.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_04]: I guess the weekend's going to be fairly nice weather.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_04]: So, and what we've been hearing, there's a lot of people going.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_04]: I know they had a problem with rain today, and that's, that's unfortunate, but whatever.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_04]: We'll check that forecast for the weekend.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_04]: We'll do that for you.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, chance of rain, well, through the weekend and that diminishes on Saturday and nice on Sunday, beautiful day Sunday and Monday, got a nice to leave a day weekend coming up.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_04]: Most of it's pretty good and I hope you enjoy it.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever you're doing, little cool, getting a little cool for Pecton.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_04]: I get it.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_04]: But give it a try anyway.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, the water's warm.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_04]: and the people are smoking hot.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_04]: 755, 1240, the phone number, up in Carthage and West Carthage.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what the difference is between the two of it's like IQ or average income or whatever, but I guess there's a difference.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_04]: People being asked to conserve water, I guess there's some problems with the water systems and you might not have it or whatever, or just turn off the sprinklers or whatever you're doing today.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_04]: That would be a great idea.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, let's see.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, didn't I?
- 56:45[SPEAKER_04]: We haven't got a lot going on here.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_04]: Here's another article about Pete Hugset's Purge of the Military.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_04]: I don't doubt there's deadwood in any organization, including that one.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_04]: But now we'll just have to see, but I don't know.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_04]: But these people in charge, and that's that, he'll be out in two years anyway.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you can get more refined people in than him.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_04]: Remember Bob McNamara, but he was, you know, very civilized as a former forward executive, but on the other hand, you love, love, war, and love the Vietnam War in this particular, so I don't know.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_09]: And now we're stepping up the war over an Iran.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_04]: Is that doing any good?
- 57:44[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we bomb a couple of radar domes or something and stuff like that and we tell everybody over here that the people are suffering and inflation, I don't know if I believe that.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_04]: We never see any video from Tehran.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_04]: I'd like to see an honest reporter go over there and like a John Moore.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_04]: and let us know what the lifestyle really is.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_04]: Not the propaganda that our people are given or the propaganda they're giving.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_04]: Because I'm not convinced any of it's true.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_10]: Well, what else have we got going on here?
- 58:22[SPEAKER_04]: Did you do?
- 58:23[SPEAKER_04]: It's about three minutes left.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_04]: Well, less than two minutes, really.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_04]: Not a lot of time, but you can get a call in if you want if you're so inclined.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, the weather for today is, it's okay, currently 79 degrees, it's not bad.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_04]: Rainy, maybe some winds later today, but that would be around six o'clock or so.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_04]: So it looks like a nice afternoon, and then tomorrow, we get an I of 78, and 75, and
- 59:05[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, temperatures are starting to, you know, adjust a little for the fall, but that's to be expected, right?
- 59:16[SPEAKER_04]: Falls a beautiful time of year.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_04]: I hope you enjoy it.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_04]: It's here.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_04]: It's almost here.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_04]: Be ready to get rid of those white shoes and white belts next Tuesday.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_04]: That's just a reminder from those of us here at the outline.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_04]: All righty.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_04]: Well, what do we got?
- 59:30[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to have a good show today at five.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_04]: It's Glenn Curry pipes up with the issue neat brand of chip chat.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_04]: And you'll want to listen to that.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll be back tomorrow right here at noon on the hotline, which is, of course, everybody's favorite, noon time talk show, as declared by me.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_04]: And it all comes your way on Community Broadcast or stations.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_04]: We are WQTK, 92.7, Ogdensburg, and AM-1240, WATN, right here in Watertown.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_04]: But time is...
