- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous. It's Lala Kent.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Welcome to untraditionally Lala. Hello, gorgeous, Welcome back to untraditionally Lala.
- 0:09Speaker 2: The Boner episode I'm with Frankie Grande, I had people
- 0:13Speaker 2: write in to ask you some questions. Oh, I love this, Yeah,
- 0:16Speaker 2: we'll keep it right, We'll keep it tight. What is
- 0:20Speaker 2: your favorite memory from your time on Big Brother?
- 0:23Speaker 3: Ooh. I really really resonated with when Kathy Griffin walked
- 0:28Speaker 3: into the house because I was a very queer man
- 0:32Speaker 3: in a very straight house with all straight people, and
- 0:34Speaker 3: I forgot that I had a community. And then when
- 0:37Speaker 3: that homosexual icon walked in, I was like, Okay, thank Lord,
- 0:43Speaker 3: oh my god, Gathy Griffin and every of course, every
- 0:46Speaker 3: single person in the house was like who is that?
- 0:48Speaker 3: And I was like what dusting people? Yeah, they were
- 0:52Speaker 3: all straights, No one kne who she was, and yeah,
- 0:56Speaker 3: well I died. And I felt like it was a
- 0:58Speaker 3: gift just for me, and it gave me enough energy
- 1:00Speaker 3: to get through the rest of the show. Literally, I
- 1:02Speaker 3: was like, oh, thank god, I forgot that I was gay.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I forgot that I was Okay, this is so good.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I was like, I'm turning straight. With all of you people.
- 1:10Speaker 1: E you know, I you is right.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I only feel comfortable in this time in my life
- 1:20Speaker 2: with girls and.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Gays love it like the best.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Anything outside of that community, I don't want it. I
- 1:29Speaker 2: don't know how to approach it, like I'm good. So
- 1:32Speaker 2: I'm glad that you find that you felt like, Oh.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Here we go. It's a reminder I have community.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yes, exactly, that was exactly right.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Would you ever go on Traders? Have you watched Traders on? Oh?
- 1:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I would, and I shall, and I love. They
- 1:46Speaker 3: have to just call me, guys, I'm ready, let's go.
- 1:48Speaker 1: No, they have to have you on.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I have to do it. I have to do it.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I was never a big like I'm so into reality,
- 1:56Speaker 2: but like the competition shows, I was never really that into.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I just gave traders a chance and was like, oh
- 2:03Speaker 2: my god, I understand the hype.
- 2:05Speaker 3: It's great, and I would. I would eat it up.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Would you be a good trader?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Late?
- 2:12Speaker 3: I think I would be a good trader, But I
- 2:14Speaker 3: think I would be a good faithful too. I just
- 2:15Speaker 3: think i'd be good at the game. So okay, done,
- 2:18Speaker 3: let me put my money where my mouth is.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Boom, boom.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Oh my god, I really want you on it. Okay,
- 2:25Speaker 2: favorite childhood memory with Arianna if you can pinpoint just one.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah, let me try to think of one. We had
- 2:32Speaker 3: such a wild age gap because they're ten years apart,
- 2:35Speaker 3: so I'm like trying to think of like ones that
- 2:37Speaker 3: were like later in life, because like all the ones
- 2:39Speaker 3: in the beginning are like running on Disney and like
- 2:44Speaker 3: the monorail together yesterday. Uh what was my favorite? Mar
- 2:49Speaker 3: We have so many good memories. We're so silly together.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I think probably one of my favorites was when she
- 2:56Speaker 3: showed me her looping machine for the first time, when
- 2:59Speaker 3: she was like, ooh, I want us maybe like fourteen
- 3:01Speaker 3: years old. I have a terrible memory, but she showed
- 3:04Speaker 3: me her looping machine, which was what Image and Heap
- 3:06Speaker 3: uses to create her vocals and stack her harmonies. And
- 3:10Speaker 3: the first time she showed me what she could do live,
- 3:12Speaker 3: which is what Image could do live. Like I think,
- 3:14Speaker 3: I like, like, I think I passed out. I was
- 3:16Speaker 3: like Arianna, what the fuck? Like, how are you this
- 3:20Speaker 3: fucking talented? And it was just a moment that I'll
- 3:24Speaker 3: never forget. One other one is when I told her
- 3:28Speaker 3: that I am also Image Heap just inspired me when
- 3:31Speaker 3: I told her I booked Mama Me out on Broadway.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I got the call in a room with my mother
- 3:35Speaker 3: and my sister, and we started doing the high note
- 3:39Speaker 3: whistle tones from Image and Heap's album and together and
- 3:43Speaker 3: trying to go higher than each other. And it was
- 3:45Speaker 3: just also just a wonderful, giddy, giddy moment. She was twelve. Yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 3: that was fun.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I love these memories.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah. Fun.
- 3:52Speaker 2: So, cause ten years is a significant age gap. When
- 3:57Speaker 2: did you find that you guys like really got close.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I'm like, I my oldest brother, so I'm thirty five.
- 4:03Speaker 2: He is close to turning fifty, and I feel like
- 4:08Speaker 2: he and I really started bonding once I hit like
- 4:11Speaker 2: twenty one.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Yeah. I think we had a really good period in
- 4:16Speaker 3: like her early teens, and then I think my drinking
- 4:20Speaker 3: and using made me like kind of like disappear from
- 4:24Speaker 3: the family dynamic for a hot ten year maybe hot decade. Yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 3: and then I think our we're closest now than we've
- 4:31Speaker 3: ever been. We've closer now than we've ever been in
- 4:33Speaker 3: her entire lives.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Once you got sober, you found that it was different.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, it just was. I mean every everything was,
- 4:39Speaker 3: but especially my familial relationships because I was a putting
- 4:43Speaker 3: the effort into rebuilding the bridges that I had burned,
- 4:47Speaker 3: and also be like I could like fucking have a
- 4:50Speaker 3: normal conversation totally. I could be fucking cool for like
- 4:54Speaker 3: a second and not be like like twitching because I'm
- 4:57Speaker 3: like trying to get Jones in for my next hit.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I so relate to that. Yeah, there are so many
- 5:03Speaker 2: times I look back on certain things and I have
- 5:06Speaker 2: to actively stop my brain from doing that because then
- 5:09Speaker 2: I start feeling guilt where it's like, Yep, I could
- 5:12Speaker 2: have been so present for that moment, and instead I
- 5:14Speaker 2: was fixated on where the bar was yep. And I
- 5:18Speaker 2: missed out on like being with people that I love
- 5:21Speaker 2: and care about.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Yep, one hundred percent. And I'm glad that you don't
- 5:25Speaker 3: give yourself shit for that, because it is really hard
- 5:27Speaker 3: to not do that. I call it shame touretts, like
- 5:30Speaker 3: like all of a sudden, I'm like, oh my God,
- 5:32Speaker 3: like like you know, it's like you're you suck and
- 5:36Speaker 3: I don't. I try to avoid that as well, because
- 5:39Speaker 3: it's not useful and it's not helpful, and we're not
- 5:42Speaker 3: those people anymore but it is hard. And the other
- 5:44Speaker 3: thing that I do is also I tell, especially with
- 5:47Speaker 3: my sister, I say I don't remember that, will you
- 5:49Speaker 3: tell me the story? Because in the beginning I used
- 5:52Speaker 3: to lie and say, oh, yeah, I remember that. That
- 5:56Speaker 3: was so fun. Yeah, but I don't remember it because
- 5:59Speaker 3: I was drunk or hot totally. So if she has
- 6:02Speaker 3: a really good memory of us and I don't remember it,
- 6:05Speaker 3: I'm like, will you tell me the story? And then
- 6:07Speaker 3: she does, and then I'm like, that was fucking fun. Great,
- 6:09Speaker 3: we did have fun. That was awesome. It sounds like
- 6:11Speaker 3: a great day.
- 6:11Speaker 1: It sounds like it was a great day.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Noted.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I have to do that too. People will come up
- 6:16Speaker 1: to me and I'm like, okay, was this.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Like I gain twenty twelve.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I'm like, I was gone.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I don't even remember who you are, So why don't
- 6:24Speaker 2: you enlighten me on the great times we've had.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Exactly yes, And it's fine to say that.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I agree with you.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Sobriety is like the proudest thing I've done in my life.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I know that you've done a lot of wonderful things,
- 6:37Speaker 2: but sobriety is like the one thing I'm very proud of.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Same worst house guest you had to.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Work with.
- 6:56Speaker 4: If you can see it, the worst house guest I
- 6:59Speaker 4: had to work with. Oh, fuck, let's see it's it
- 7:05Speaker 4: would be best and worst. Okay, I'm gonna say they're
- 7:09Speaker 4: the same person, and it's Nicole because on my season
- 7:14Speaker 4: in BB sixteen, I wanted so desperately to work with
- 7:17Speaker 4: her and she would not fucking work with me, and
- 7:20Speaker 4: so I evicted her, not.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Once, but twice. I got her out of the house,
- 7:25Speaker 3: Get her out of here. Then ten years later on
- 7:27Speaker 3: Reindeer Games, Nicole's back in the house and I was like, bitch,
- 7:31Speaker 3: I have been dying to work with you for ten
- 7:34Speaker 3: fucking years. Are we gonna run this fucking house or
- 7:37Speaker 3: are you gonna be a bitch and are you gonna
- 7:39Speaker 3: like fucking turn against me? And she was like, we're
- 7:41Speaker 3: gonna run this house and then we did and we
- 7:43Speaker 3: got all the way to the finale together. So that
- 7:45Speaker 3: made me really happy.
- 7:46Speaker 1: That makes me very happy.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I love what the same person can be the best
- 7:50Speaker 1: and worst?
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yep mm hmmm.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Who do you still talk to? From Big Brother.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Nicole, Cody, Derek? I talked to Derek all the fucking time, Taylor,
- 8:02Speaker 3: who else? Do I talk. Xavier and Josh and I
- 8:05Speaker 3: talk every once in a while, Brittany.
- 8:09Speaker 1: So you've got a long list of people that you
- 8:11Speaker 1: stayed in contact.
- 8:12Speaker 3: With, Yeah, I do, I because I had Like it's
- 8:16Speaker 3: interesting because the producers were like, we thought you never
- 8:19Speaker 3: ever wanted to come back or play again, and I
- 8:21Speaker 3: was like, no, I was a fucking drug addict. Guys,
- 8:24Speaker 3: Like after the show of don't I can't imagine what
- 8:27Speaker 3: I said about Big Brother because I was high and
- 8:30Speaker 3: drunk and fucking pilled out, so like, god knows what
- 8:33Speaker 3: I said, So like, don't don't pay attention to that.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I'm sober now and I'm telling you I'm I want
- 8:39Speaker 3: to come back. I love you, guys, And so in
- 8:41Speaker 3: through that that relationship mending, I also kind of got
- 8:44Speaker 3: to make an amends to the show, and then I
- 8:46Speaker 3: reconnected with all my Big Brother friends like via just
- 8:51Speaker 3: being like, guys, I'm ready to come back into the family.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I think everybody thought I was like too good for
- 8:57Speaker 3: Big Brother or whatever the fuck I did, and I
- 8:58Speaker 3: was like, probably because when I was drunk or I probably.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Said that totally.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, look at that, guys. Accountability baby, Accountability bitch,
- 9:07Speaker 3: Like and so like I was like, no, guys, don't
- 9:09Speaker 3: listen to anything that I said between the years is
- 9:11Speaker 3: of twenty fourteen and twenty seventeen.
- 9:13Speaker 2: So then would you if they asked you back again,
- 9:16Speaker 2: would you go back?
- 9:17Speaker 3: Yeah? For sure, Yeah I would go back. My mother's like, fuck, no,
- 9:21Speaker 3: don't do it, and I'm like, I would do it.
- 9:24Speaker 3: I love that fucking game and I played again.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I love that you loved it. Life it's too short
- 9:29Speaker 2: to do things you don't want to do. So if
- 9:30Speaker 2: you're down for the cause, let's get you.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Back in that house exactly, I'll do it.
- 9:34Speaker 1: All right.
- 9:35Speaker 2: My final question for you is I want to know
- 9:38Speaker 2: how excited you were when you found out Ariana was
- 9:42Speaker 2: going to play Glinda.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm gonna cry thinking about this moment we were in.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I was in tech for a show called Horror Camp
- 9:51Speaker 3: and she was like, come into the bathroom. I had
- 9:53Speaker 3: to tell you a secret. And I was like okay.
- 9:55Speaker 3: We went into the bathroom and she told me she
- 9:58Speaker 3: was Glinda, and me, my mother and my sister collapsed
- 10:02Speaker 3: on the floor and we were sobbing and it was
- 10:05Speaker 3: just like the craziest moment. And then she came to
- 10:08Speaker 3: the show that night, and I you know, gave like
- 10:11Speaker 3: the performance of my life like for her, knowing that
- 10:14Speaker 3: she was just the happiest human being in the world. Yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 3: and it was such a beautiful night, you know, like
- 10:21Speaker 3: I got she was in the audience, I got to
- 10:23Speaker 3: perform for her, but I like give her that gift.
- 10:25Speaker 3: But at the same time, just knowing the gift that
- 10:27Speaker 3: she's about to give to millions of people around the globe.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Fuck it pretty cool.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I mean even my my daughter, who I think at
- 10:37Speaker 2: the time of that was around three years old. I mean,
- 10:42Speaker 2: she's now obsessed. She wants to be Glinda, she wants
- 10:48Speaker 2: to make the cookies, she wants to do so, you know,
- 10:51Speaker 2: it's it's just such an iconic I mean, from from
- 10:57Speaker 2: Broadway to the film. They they crushed and I'm so
- 11:00Speaker 2: happy that you got to have that little moment with
- 11:02Speaker 2: her in the bathroom where you collapse.
- 11:05Speaker 3: On the floor crying all the Yeah, and it's so
- 11:09Speaker 3: cute to see like little kids go by the Swarovsky
- 11:11Speaker 3: store and point to my sister and be like that's Glinda. Yeah,
- 11:14Speaker 3: Like that's wild.
- 11:16Speaker 1: You know that is I I can't even imagine.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so cool and it's just so fun and
- 11:22Speaker 3: I'm just like, I can't wait for the second one.
- 11:24Speaker 3: It's coming up to TikTok, TikTok.
- 11:27Speaker 2: We'll get the tickets, We'll get my little we'll get
- 11:30Speaker 2: my kids in there, dress.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Them all up their costume. Yes, of course, we're in
- 11:34Speaker 1: it to win it.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Now.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Do you have an Alfianna Glinda or are they all
- 11:38Speaker 3: Glinda's No?
- 11:39Speaker 2: She Ocean's first barbie was actually Alphabet and then like
- 11:46Speaker 2: that was her go to and then she switched over.
- 11:49Speaker 1: How funny is that?
- 11:51Speaker 3: So you do have both.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I can't keep up.
- 11:53Speaker 2: You know, when they're that age, you just roll with
- 11:55Speaker 2: the punches. You're like, whatever you're into this week is
- 11:58Speaker 2: what we'll do exactly.
- 12:00Speaker 3: And you know what, I think that's the moral of
- 12:01Speaker 3: the stories, that we're all a little Elfie and we're
- 12:03Speaker 3: all a little Glinda. I think we got a little bit.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Of both in one hundred percent. Yes, thank you so
- 12:09Speaker 2: much for sticking around for the bonus. I fucking love you.
- 12:11Speaker 3: I love you too. You're fucking awesome. Do anything you say,
- 12:15Speaker 3: John by saying how hot be it?
- 12:17Speaker 2: Yes, baby, go and us slay the day, rock your
- 12:21Speaker 2: life as you always do, and I will be in
- 12:23Speaker 2: touch well.
