- 1:59Speaker 5: The Zone ESPN, before we talk sports betting. Do you
- 2:05Speaker 5: have do you have any numbers on Arnett? Oh?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I got them right here. I got it right here.
- 2:10Speaker 5: So we got Zack Garnett is the new This is
- 2:12Speaker 5: the weirdest thing in the world. Zack Garnett was the
- 2:15Speaker 5: defensive coordinator at Misissippi State. The interim coach was fired
- 2:20Speaker 5: after going five and seven to hire a two to
- 2:22Speaker 5: ten coach, and now he is back as the defensive
- 2:25Speaker 5: coordinator after two years of the Mississippi State fan base
- 2:29Speaker 5: getting HUTZLERD what is Zach Garnett as DC?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Right? So, and we got we got twenty twenty, twenty
- 2:35Speaker 2: one and twenty two for him as DC. Okay, right,
- 2:38Speaker 2: then you have him as head coach twenty twenty three.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Brock was a DC then right, and then Hudsler the
- 2:43Speaker 2: last two years. So pre Zach so twenty nineteen the
- 2:48Speaker 2: defense I had it grated out as number eighty three
- 2:51Speaker 2: in the country. Okay, they were sixty third in generating
- 2:58Speaker 2: momentum for the offense, they were eighty second in EPA,
- 3:02Speaker 2: and they were one hundred and second in points allowed
- 3:05Speaker 2: per snap in scoring efficiency.
- 3:07Speaker 5: That's the year before he got there.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Year before he got there, Okay, one hundred and second.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Okay. So twenty twenty bobs Sho struggled a little bit
- 3:14Speaker 5: and Joe Moorehead's last year a lot of bit Okay,
- 3:17Speaker 5: a lot of bit, a lot of it.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Let's get let's give Zach a credit here. He took
- 3:22Speaker 2: one hundred and second defense scoring efficiency defense in nineteen
- 3:26Speaker 2: and it was number forty five in twenty twenty. Okay, okay,
- 3:29Speaker 2: So there was an immediate impact there. But that was
- 3:33Speaker 2: his best year.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Which is interesting because he had to play ten conference
- 3:37Speaker 5: games because of COVID, right, you.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Know, and so overall he was ranked fiftieth nationally twenty twenty.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Twenty twenty one, it was seventy third, so it took
- 3:46Speaker 2: a step back, okay, and then twenty twenty two bumped
- 3:50Speaker 2: right back up to twenty twenty levels at fifty five.
- 3:52Speaker 2: All right, So his strength is is scoring efficiency a
- 3:59Speaker 2: little bit. So his three years his average scoring efficiency
- 4:02Speaker 2: was sixty first in the country, okay. And his game
- 4:06Speaker 2: control and momentum developed, which is the most powerful number
- 4:10Speaker 2: in football outcome, that was sixty fourth.
- 4:12Speaker 5: So you know, so he looks like Kirby Smart compared
- 4:16Speaker 5: to Coleman Hutzler. But he had a more than solid
- 4:19Speaker 5: run under Mike Leech, is what you're saying.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, he he was, you know something. And this isn't
- 4:23Speaker 2: adjusted for talent. This is raw numbers, okay, you know.
- 4:27Speaker 2: To compare his scoring efficiency, he was forty five, sixty nine,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and sixty eight in his three years. The last two years,
- 4:33Speaker 2: Coleman was one twenty and ninety.
- 4:36Speaker 5: One, twenty and ninety yep, right, Hustler was one twenty
- 4:40Speaker 5: and ninetieth. So in twenty twenty four, Coleman Hustler was
- 4:44Speaker 5: one hundred and twentieth in defensive scoring efficiency. In twenty
- 4:48Speaker 5: twenty five, he was ninetieth right in defensive scoring efficiency yep,
- 4:52Speaker 5: which is which puts him at one ten combined.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know so, so for his so for
- 4:59Speaker 2: his two years, I'm sorry, one O five, my bad,
- 5:03Speaker 2: good lord? Yeah, still early. Yeah, his basically his two years.
- 5:08Speaker 2: If anybody remembers twenty nineteen with Shoop pre Arnette. Yeah,
- 5:12Speaker 2: that was a better year than the last two. So
- 5:14Speaker 2: think about that, y'all.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Remember everything kind of imploded and got out from under
- 5:19Speaker 5: Joe Morehead in year two. But a lot of the
- 5:23Speaker 5: Jeffrey Simmons left, Jonathan Abram left, Montese Sweat left from
- 5:27Speaker 5: the twenty eighteen team, and then you lost Fitz who
- 5:31Speaker 5: could run the football and take the air of the
- 5:33Speaker 5: ball and help the defense. I'm assuming some of this
- 5:35Speaker 5: sol ties together. Bartwo can weigh in, But you had
- 5:38Speaker 5: a good offense that could just pound the rock all
- 5:40Speaker 5: that stuff that you want that Bar two has been
- 5:42Speaker 5: talking about. You want to run the football and stop
- 5:44Speaker 5: the run in this league. And then twenty nineteen Morehead
- 5:49Speaker 5: and Shoop everything just went sad ways. So Bob Shoop
- 5:54Speaker 5: in twenty nineteen was better than Coleman either one of
- 5:58Speaker 5: Coleman Hudtler's years.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Right, Okay, So I think that the sunshine here is
- 6:02Speaker 2: Zach When he took over for twenty nineteen, right right,
- 6:05Speaker 2: he inherited the one hundred and second scoring efficiency defense
- 6:09Speaker 2: flipped it to forty five. Okay, you and I and
- 6:13Speaker 2: everybody listening will absolutely one hundred percent by number forty
- 6:18Speaker 2: five defense, scoring efficiency, defense in twenty twenty six.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Right now, yeah, I would think that, and you don't
- 6:24Speaker 5: ever know how that correlates to wins, but I would
- 6:28Speaker 5: think that that probably saves Levy's job.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Oh okay, I'll tell you how it correlates to wins. Okay.
- 6:33Speaker 2: There are three major metrics that have the highest correlation
- 6:38Speaker 2: to win almost ninety percent. Okay. If you win game control,
- 6:42Speaker 2: you win over ninety percent of the games. If you
- 6:44Speaker 2: win scoring efficiency, you win over eighty eight percent of
- 6:47Speaker 2: the games. Okay, okay, So if you go from ninetieth
- 6:52Speaker 2: and one hundred and twentieth to forty fifth in scoring efficiency, right,
- 6:56Speaker 2: we're gonna win more football games. Like look at last year. Okay,
- 7:00Speaker 2: you are one. In my mind, you are one hundred
- 7:02Speaker 2: percent winning those three games that you blew with a
- 7:06Speaker 2: forty five defense Texas, Tennessee in Florida.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Yep.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, you know. And even if it's two out
- 7:13Speaker 2: of three, let's say it's just two out of three. Okay,
- 7:15Speaker 2: that's two more wins. Yeah you didn't have, So five
- 7:18Speaker 2: and seven becomes seven and five. What's the energy and
- 7:22Speaker 2: narrative today on State football. If you were seven and five.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Jeff would have finished and he could have, like you said,
- 7:28Speaker 5: because you gave back the Arizona State game, but took
- 7:31Speaker 5: Texas Tennessee in Florida, so you didn't take everything. If
- 7:34Speaker 5: he is seven and five, everybody is fired up about
- 7:41Speaker 5: right Mississippi State Football and Jeff Levy two wins.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Right, And this is why we talk about why staffing
- 7:46Speaker 2: is so important. Day one, rookie head coaches their biggest mistake,
- 7:52Speaker 2: what will get them fired ninety five percent of the
- 7:54Speaker 2: time is they hire bad coaches and their buddies because
- 7:57Speaker 2: they're too scared to make a decision on getting good
- 8:00Speaker 2: guys there. They surround themselves with yes men and people
- 8:02Speaker 2: that make them comfortable, and then they lose games and
- 8:04Speaker 2: gets fired instead of bringing guys in at the beginning
- 8:09Speaker 2: to have a higher ceiling and in a higher floor.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Wow. And that's what Jeff Levy did. And he had
- 8:17Speaker 5: no guidance from his afletic director. And you know Greg
- 8:19Speaker 5: Byrne would not have allowed a Coleman Hutzler to be
- 8:22Speaker 5: to be hired. Hudzler finished one hundred and twentieth in
- 8:25Speaker 5: defensive scoring efficiency in twenty twenty four, ninetieth, and twenty
- 8:28Speaker 5: twenty five. Zach Garnett is a massive upgrade. Now where
- 8:32Speaker 5: will he finish, We don't know. As bart he could
- 8:36Speaker 5: finish forty fifth, sixty fifth, or seventieth. That now, look,
- 8:39Speaker 5: even if he finishes seventieth, that is a monster upgrade
- 8:44Speaker 5: over Hutzeler and still could be enough to get Levy
- 8:50Speaker 5: over the finish line. As far as Went, I don't
- 8:52Speaker 5: know what that number is on campus, whether it's six Went.
- 8:55Speaker 5: I mean, there's a there's a beautiful path to six.
- 8:59Speaker 5: If you're any good coaching seven, I get that that
- 9:02Speaker 5: would be considered just a phenomenal year. But when you
- 9:05Speaker 5: have at Minnesota at South Carolina, those are not super
- 9:09Speaker 5: good teams. And when you have Vanderbilt, Missouri and Auburn
- 9:14Speaker 5: at home there and then Tennessee Tech and limon road,
- 9:18Speaker 5: there is a path to six.
- 9:19Speaker 2: We got to take advantage of right opportunity, especially those
- 9:21Speaker 2: home games, especially the games early in the season. You know,
- 9:24Speaker 2: the Missouri because Missouri isn't going to be without their
- 9:26Speaker 2: running back, right because I carried them on third down and.
- 9:30Speaker 5: Fourth and short La maud Hardy. We'll be back in
- 9:32Speaker 5: a second Dave bar two live from Dancing Rabbit Golf Club.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Hey, hey, out.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Of bounds e SPN one oh five nine. The Zone
- 11:03Speaker 5: brought to you by Taste Italian Kitchen in the Renaissance
- 11:09Speaker 5: and Taste Italian Kitchen in Starbull. My man, Dave bar two,
- 11:14Speaker 5: who is sitting beside me here a Dancing Rabbit Golf Club.
- 11:18Speaker 5: You're listening to ESPN one oh five nine The Zone.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Bar two had one of their wood fired pizzas from
- 11:26Speaker 5: Taste Italian Kitchen on Monday. Chef Craig. Chef Craig and
- 11:33Speaker 5: was it delicious?
- 11:34Speaker 2: Oh, it's delicious. Everything I've had here has been great good.
- 11:37Speaker 5: I love to hear its.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Prime awesome, Philip m awesome, love face Italian awesome.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Yes, how about that Big Joe from Beagle Bagel Cafe
- 11:49Speaker 5: in Madison exactly.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Shout out to the folks at Beagle Bagel.
- 11:54Speaker 5: They're great people.
- 11:55Speaker 2: They're awesome, awesome people, wonderful. You know. It was funny.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I was one of them, was like, hey Bardew, I'm like, yeah,
- 12:03Speaker 2: good to meet you.
- 12:05Speaker 5: That's right.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I'm like nice to meet you too. I'm a buck eyevan.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm like, why are you whispering. He's like,
- 12:12Speaker 2: they don't like me around here.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Buck guys.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, I'm an SEC country. When the buck
- 12:19Speaker 2: Eye fans whispering, that's this beautiful man.
- 12:21Speaker 5: You know, I don't have a problem with Ohio State
- 12:23Speaker 5: other than kirk Curve Street, So I mean.
- 12:26Speaker 2: You know, they don't.
- 12:28Speaker 5: They don't, really, they don't really. In fact, it's funny.
- 12:31Speaker 5: I enjoy talking. We're allowed to talk some of the
- 12:35Speaker 5: big brands outside of the SEC, like Ohio State, Michigan.
- 12:39Speaker 5: I mean, hell, we just had Steve Days on and
- 12:41Speaker 5: he got eight thousand views Tube, which is crazy. He's
- 12:44Speaker 5: a Michigan insider and Southern cal and stuff like that.
- 12:50Speaker 5: So it's fun Miami now that they're back, like you
- 12:53Speaker 5: and I were talking about. But Dave bar two on
- 12:57Speaker 5: the Out of Bound show, brought by the Wood Fired
- 13:01Speaker 5: Pizzas a taste Italian Kitchen in the Renaissance in Starbull,
- 13:07Speaker 5: all right, bar two, we our net is a major,
- 13:11Speaker 5: major upgrade in the Seal Building on the campus Mississippi
- 13:16Speaker 5: State for football. I mean he is a major upgrade, right, yes.
- 13:20Speaker 2: And we are hopeful the upgrade is equivalent to what
- 13:24Speaker 2: he did his first year in Starkville when he took
- 13:27Speaker 2: the one hundred and second scoring efficiency defense to forty fifth.
- 13:30Speaker 2: That was his best year too, twenty twenty, that was
- 13:33Speaker 2: his best year as a play caller, and not just
- 13:37Speaker 2: because of the numbers, but what he took and what
- 13:40Speaker 2: he did with it. So now he's inherited the ninetieth
- 13:43Speaker 2: scoring efficiency offense. Can we get back to forty five?
- 13:47Speaker 2: I mean, that is a win win win, win, win
- 13:49Speaker 2: win win if he gets that thing into.
- 13:51Speaker 5: The top fifty. And then if he can do all
- 13:54Speaker 5: this along with Camarrio, Taylor and three three really good
- 14:01Speaker 5: opportunities at home to win SEC home games against Vanderbilt, Missouri,
- 14:08Speaker 5: and Auburn. None of those teams are gonna be great
- 14:10Speaker 5: or even really good. Now, they may be. One may
- 14:13Speaker 5: end up surprising us in being pretty good. But to me,
- 14:16Speaker 5: that's the ceiling on all three of those teams.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Well, exactly, and look at the turnover, the lack of
- 14:21Speaker 2: continuity in the SEC. Right, everybody made a change, I
- 14:26Speaker 2: mean including Mississippi State. Right, they made a change of
- 14:29Speaker 2: defensive course. Yeah, but old miss made changes, lets Us
- 14:32Speaker 2: made changes, Texas made changes, Oklahoma's remained the same, Georgia
- 14:37Speaker 2: remained the same, but Tennessee turned over their DC, Arkansas
- 14:40Speaker 2: new staff. Vanderbilt retained everybody. Yeah, you know, but they
- 14:44Speaker 2: haven't been able to play defense since clark Lee got there.
- 14:47Speaker 2: You know. South Carolina turned over the whole offense, Florida
- 14:50Speaker 2: turned over the whole staff, Auburn turned over the pretty
- 14:53Speaker 2: prince of whole staff. So I mean there is there
- 14:56Speaker 2: is a lack of continuity. Somebody has to take advantage
- 15:01Speaker 2: of it. And we saw years ago, remember when there
- 15:05Speaker 2: was lack of continuity in the SEC. When when there
- 15:08Speaker 2: was it was a little tumultuous with Auburn and Alabama
- 15:12Speaker 2: and Mark Rick couldn't take advantage of it, and Gary
- 15:15Speaker 2: Pinkel did.
- 15:15Speaker 5: That's right, He went to the SEC championship game, right.
- 15:18Speaker 2: And so when there's disruption in the elite brands and
- 15:23Speaker 2: the elite recruiters, that's the opportunity for the bottom half
- 15:26Speaker 2: to have great coaching and rise up. That was Mark
- 15:29Speaker 2: Rick's time. He failed, right, that was his window to
- 15:32Speaker 2: jump through when the rest of the league was a
- 15:35Speaker 2: little discombobulated. That shows you how good Gary Pinkell was.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Because the windows only open for one head coach one.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Gary jumped through it and did awesome at Missouri. That
- 15:46Speaker 2: was Mark Rick's opportunity in his career to put Georgia
- 15:50Speaker 2: on the map because of what was going on. And
- 15:53Speaker 2: Gary just said, now, dude, you aren't that guy, and
- 15:56Speaker 2: Boom bumped him aside. And then once everything settled a
- 15:58Speaker 2: lot of that, then the big boys already taken back over.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Sure, you're when Lane Kiffin just took advantage of that
- 16:04Speaker 5: opportunity the last two years in Oxford while other people
- 16:08Speaker 5: couldn't get up and running and wrapped their brain around
- 16:10Speaker 5: the portal.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Right, there's these scheduling windows, and then there's then there's
- 16:14Speaker 2: conference windows. This is why D'Antonio at Michigan State rose
- 16:17Speaker 2: up and was in the top ten because when he
- 16:20Speaker 2: was doing that, he was a great head coach. But
- 16:23Speaker 2: Michigan was having problems. Ohio State was upside down, Penn
- 16:27Speaker 2: State was turned over and had had had Bill over
- 16:30Speaker 2: the train wreck called Bill O'Brien as their head coach.
- 16:33Speaker 5: And so that's right, they were coming off the Sandusky.
- 16:35Speaker 5: You had your three.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Big brands all having problems. D'Antonio went, Okay, I'm gonna
- 16:39Speaker 2: take over for a few years because I'm awesome and
- 16:41Speaker 2: I know I don't have the talent, and he did.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Gary Pinkele did the same thing and had his opportunity
- 16:47Speaker 2: in the SEC.
- 16:48Speaker 5: And Spurrier did the same thing at South Carolina.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Yeah, well Spurrier's just that's bad, but still bad.
- 16:54Speaker 5: It still applies.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Oh God, I love Okay, And.
- 16:58Speaker 5: I think you could argue with I'd like to go
- 17:01Speaker 5: back and look, but I think you could argue that
- 17:04Speaker 5: Mike Leach did that at Washington State while Southern cal
- 17:08Speaker 5: was blanking around, while some other teams in the Pac
- 17:12Speaker 5: twelve at that time were not doing what they were
- 17:15Speaker 5: supposed to do bar two. Mike Leach said, I'll win
- 17:18Speaker 5: eleven games at Washington State for the third time, at
- 17:21Speaker 5: third time in school history or what.
- 17:22Speaker 2: And it was Oregon's opportunity too, because Washington was struggling.
- 17:25Speaker 2: He was struggling. UCLA couldn't figure it out. Well, you
- 17:29Speaker 2: never figured it out. How the heck are you in?
- 17:32Speaker 2: I mean, folks, if you've never been on the UCLA campus,
- 17:35Speaker 2: I mean, you want to talk about sunshine and palm trees.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Give me the job today. I can kill the winner
- 17:39Speaker 5: three months. God, I said, this is just unbelievable. Fifteen
- 17:44Speaker 5: years ago when I went on campus. Jackson knows this.
- 17:47Speaker 5: I came back, I got on the air and I said,
- 17:48Speaker 5: I don't understand how they don't win. It's it's just
- 17:51Speaker 5: it's it's beautiful people, a beautiful campus, big time research
- 17:55Speaker 5: in academics on Billy West, close to the beach. What
- 18:00Speaker 5: are we not doing? And and Dan Guerrero refused to
- 18:03Speaker 5: ever raise any money or make them good. It was
- 18:05Speaker 5: the most incredible thing I've ever seen in my life.
- 18:08Speaker 2: No, it is just a you can't even we can't
- 18:12Speaker 2: explain it. Right, it falls right in there with Ed
- 18:14Speaker 2: Ordren winning national title. It's amazing, but I can't. I
- 18:19Speaker 2: can't explain it.
- 18:20Speaker 5: We we throw at to bar two. You have five
- 18:23Speaker 5: seconds to answer this or you get lifted up by aliens.
- 18:26Speaker 5: How did Jean Chiswick win the National change?
- 18:28Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, Yeah, I mean it's just like well,
- 18:31Speaker 2: I mean that just solidified Cam Newton is the greatest
- 18:33Speaker 2: damn football player of my life.
- 18:34Speaker 5: He is.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I know. I will that's the hill I will die on. Yes,
- 18:38Speaker 2: Cam Newton that single season, that was the single greatest
- 18:42Speaker 2: pick up the bags on Saturday season I will ever
- 18:44Speaker 2: see in my life in college football. Incredible flat outen
- 18:47Speaker 2: amazing real quick though. Okay, it looks like SEC has
- 18:51Speaker 2: had some rule changes yes for the year. Yeah, one
- 18:54Speaker 2: of the one of the things is offensive pass interference
- 18:57Speaker 2: will now result in a ten yard penalty. Okay, little
- 19:00Speaker 2: little nugget on that how it will impact the game.
- 19:03Speaker 2: It shouldn't impact the game at all. When you see
- 19:05Speaker 2: a defensive penalty, that is a non self inflicted wound. Okay.
- 19:11Speaker 2: And what I'm talking about is a defensive penalty holding
- 19:14Speaker 2: passing interference. It results in three extra points. And it
- 19:19Speaker 2: all depends on when it happens first, second, or third down.
- 19:21Speaker 2: It's off the yardage third down.
- 19:23Speaker 5: All right, that's a tease. We've got our big SEC
- 19:26Speaker 5: insider hit coming up next. Jackson, all right, should I
- 19:33Speaker 5: have some music or are we good?
- 19:36Speaker 2: Okay?
- 19:36Speaker 5: All right, good deal. We are the Out of Bound
- 19:38Speaker 5: Show ESPN one oh five nine The Zone. This show

- 22:03Speaker 3: Bar two?
- 22:04Speaker 5: I was thinking, but we got to hit Buster Faulkner
- 22:07Speaker 5: real quick? Is it right?
- 22:08Speaker 2: We gonna hit Buster?
- 22:09Speaker 5: I mean if we can do it later, if you want,
- 22:11Speaker 5: We've got another hour after this.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Tomato tomorrow. I got Buster pulled up right here.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Okay, let's do let's hit Buster Faulkner. Since Mississippi State
- 22:19Speaker 5: and Ole Miss are playing Florida, Yeah, and I really
- 22:22Speaker 5: like John Summer and I think he's got a chance
- 22:25Speaker 5: to do a good job there, and he was incredible
- 22:27Speaker 5: at Troy and Tulane. So Old Miss to me, Old
- 22:30Speaker 5: Miss has got a tough deal because they play LSU
- 22:33Speaker 5: at home, which is going to be an out of
- 22:36Speaker 5: your mind, emotional and mentally spent win or lose game
- 22:41Speaker 5: just because everything that is around it. And then they
- 22:44Speaker 5: go to Florida the next week, and then Mississippi State. Well,
- 22:51Speaker 5: I think I totally dropped the ball. Mississippi State does
- 22:53Speaker 5: not play Florida. That's okay, we still want to profile
- 22:56Speaker 5: Buster Faulkner. Misssippi State played Florida last year and of
- 23:01Speaker 5: course didn't kick a field goal and threw a pick
- 23:04Speaker 5: at a time when you run the football right off
- 23:08Speaker 5: the guard and set up for a field goal, why
- 23:11Speaker 5: did I dream that up? That's okay, all right, So Florida.
- 23:16Speaker 5: Buster Faulkner's coming from Georgia Tech, where he had what
- 23:20Speaker 5: I thought was one of the most underrated quarterbacks in
- 23:22Speaker 5: college football the last two years, and I loved watching
- 23:25Speaker 5: him play. This kid was so good that two years
- 23:29Speaker 5: ago they took Georgia to a seven or eight overtime game.
- 23:33Speaker 5: I watched every second of it. It was one of
- 23:36Speaker 5: the best performances I've ever watched in the history of
- 23:39Speaker 5: college football by this kid, in which Georgia out recruits
- 23:42Speaker 5: Georgia Tech by like fifty to sixty spots. But Buster
- 23:46Speaker 5: Faultner is now the OC at Florida for John summerl
- 23:49Speaker 5: is in an A B or C coordinator.
- 23:51Speaker 2: He's a B coordinator, got it B coordinator, and to me,
- 23:56Speaker 2: a lot of the attention focuses on Buster in the offense.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I still think the strength of the Gators right off
- 24:03Speaker 2: the bat is going to be Brad White and Summer
- 24:05Speaker 2: all on defense. You know, you and you and I
- 24:08Speaker 2: have talked about Brad White. Brad White has won a
- 24:11Speaker 2: lot stoopso is Brad White. Probably half of his paycheck
- 24:15Speaker 2: because Brad, I mean seriously, Brad White's defense won him
- 24:19Speaker 2: a ton of game.
- 24:20Speaker 5: You would have him in the top half of the
- 24:21Speaker 5: league as a d c R. Yes, absolutely, out of
- 24:25Speaker 5: the sixteen teams, Brad White would be one of the
- 24:27Speaker 5: top eight defensive coordinators the DC at Florida.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, and a couple of years ago he'd probably
- 24:33Speaker 2: be closer to the top three. Okay, right, But there
- 24:36Speaker 2: was some slippage. This is why everything fell apart. Part
- 24:39Speaker 2: of it why I fell apart of Kentucky. But the
- 24:41Speaker 2: ceiling for Brad White is elite. He has an elite ceiling.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I do not feel that Faulkner has that elite ceiling. Okay, Now,
- 24:52Speaker 2: Faulkner's floor is high his bad years. You know, you
- 24:57Speaker 2: look at Middle Tennessee, Okay, Now, Middle Tennessee has no
- 24:59Speaker 2: ten But they don't. Come on, no, they don't.
- 25:04Speaker 5: I'm with you, under suck.
- 25:05Speaker 2: And we can laugh at Middle Tennessee right now, because
- 25:07Speaker 2: they pulled to Chad Morris, they went and hired a
- 25:10Speaker 2: coach that was crappy, hoping he wouldn't be crappy, and
- 25:13Speaker 2: he's still crappy. Who is it, Derek Macy? Okay, go ahead, right,
- 25:17Speaker 2: you know so. But at Middle Tennessee you look at
- 25:20Speaker 2: his numbers twelve, thirteen, fourteen, seventy, you know, in terms
- 25:23Speaker 2: of scoring efficiency, eighty second, seventy fourth, fifty seventh. Okay,
- 25:28Speaker 2: they're all improving, they're all getting better. Then he popped one.
- 25:32Speaker 2: At Tennessee. He was Middle Tennessee State was twenty third
- 25:36Speaker 2: in the country in two thousand and five in scoring efficiency. Now,
- 25:39Speaker 2: I know number twenty three isn't elite, but number twenty
- 25:41Speaker 2: three at Middle Tennessee State is incredible, pretty damn good, right.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Actually that's elite for Middle Tennessee State.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Right it is. Then he goes to Arkansas State, Okay,
- 25:51Speaker 2: seventy ninth, twenty ninth, and seventieth in scoring efficiency. Again
- 25:57Speaker 2: Arkansas State. This is a program that recruits in the eighties, nineties,
- 26:01Speaker 2: hundreds plus right, and he popped a top thirty scoring
- 26:05Speaker 2: efficiency offense there Southern miss for one year. We'll call
- 26:08Speaker 2: that a one off. And then at Georgia Tech, two
- 26:11Speaker 2: of his three years were really good. He was twenty
- 26:13Speaker 2: fifth in scoring efficiency. That's incredible in twenty twenty three, okay,
- 26:16Speaker 2: twenty twenty four, it took us step back to eighty one,
- 26:21Speaker 2: which is the equivalent of Mississippi State. In twenty twenty four, okay, okay,
- 26:29Speaker 2: and then and then last year is thirty third in
- 26:32Speaker 2: scoring official Damn.
- 26:33Speaker 5: That's a big jump back in thirty five thirty three.
- 26:37Speaker 5: So that's impressed well.
- 26:39Speaker 2: And so the question is, so like King, was King
- 26:42Speaker 2: hurt in twenty twenty four or did he Jackson?
- 26:45Speaker 5: Do you mind he did get hurt at Georgia Tech.
- 26:47Speaker 5: And when you have a starting QB missed three or
- 26:49Speaker 5: four games, yeah, you know this, it can totally disrupt
- 26:52Speaker 5: the numbers, your reference.
- 26:53Speaker 2: And it's not three or four games, right, because now
- 26:56Speaker 2: you have rusted. That's why you got to break out
- 26:57Speaker 2: of it. It's like it's like trying to stee at Missouri.
- 27:00Speaker 2: He might come back in week four, six, eight, right,
- 27:04Speaker 2: a lot hardy at Hardy Sorry, and he might come
- 27:07Speaker 2: back in week four or six or eight. We talked
- 27:10Speaker 2: about it. He might come back again.
- 27:12Speaker 3: He needs to.
- 27:12Speaker 5: Come back after the fourth game because Mississippi State plays
- 27:16Speaker 5: Missouri at home and start.
- 27:19Speaker 2: But how much shows is he going to have when
- 27:21Speaker 2: he is cleared to play that first game. It's it's
- 27:23Speaker 2: going to take a while.
- 27:24Speaker 5: Drink said. He he could be five weeks or eight
- 27:26Speaker 5: weeks away coach.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Speak, he has somebe we're doing week five and thirteen.
- 27:31Speaker 2: He'll come back, right, Grea. So with Buster, he's he's
- 27:36Speaker 2: had a couple of elite years in it, but it
- 27:38Speaker 2: takes time to build to it. Right, It's never right
- 27:41Speaker 2: out of the gate, He's not.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Those are good numbers man, right they are, but again,
- 27:46Speaker 5: elite ceiling.
- 27:47Speaker 2: You know, he's been a play caller for more than
- 27:49Speaker 2: ten years. He popped at twenty three at Middle Middle Tennessee. Right,
- 27:53Speaker 2: so he's got a lot of experience. He popped at
- 27:55Speaker 2: twenty nine at Arkansas State, in a twenty five at
- 27:57Speaker 2: Georgia Tech.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Wow.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Right, and his progression is pretty good. Right, He gets
- 28:03Speaker 2: better pretty much year over year. And he's never had
- 28:06Speaker 2: a bad year. Back back two back to back years
- 28:09Speaker 2: down He's never had two regressive years, so if he
- 28:12Speaker 2: has a bad year, it immediately gets turned around the
- 28:15Speaker 2: other way, uh and goes positive. So between the two, though,
- 28:21Speaker 2: I'm still higher on the ceiling of Brad White and
- 28:25Speaker 2: the Florida defense. I'm more scared, you know, if I'm
- 28:27Speaker 2: playing Florida, I'm more concerned about the strength of the
- 28:29Speaker 2: defense than the strength of the offense. Okay, but combined,
- 28:35Speaker 2: very solid, Okay, pairing of OCDC.
- 28:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, Faulkner is a that's a that's a
- 28:43Speaker 5: real good bee offensive coordinator.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Right, right, But I still think Brad White again, no
- 28:49Speaker 2: fair enough, is a better B B plus a minus
- 28:52Speaker 2: type of coordinator.
- 28:54Speaker 5: And he had to deal with Stoops in Kentucky, so
- 28:57Speaker 5: he maybe even better than that, right. I mean, if
- 28:59Speaker 5: you'd drive Brad White at Texas or LSU or Alabama
- 29:05Speaker 5: with that kind of talent for four to six year stretch, what.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Would we have. Hell, even at Kentucky if they had
- 29:10Speaker 2: a decent offense.
- 29:12Speaker 5: They didn't believe Stoops, didn't believe in scoring points. No,
- 29:16Speaker 5: it's an incredible Colvin Hutzer didn't believe in stopping people.
- 29:19Speaker 5: It's an incredible philosophy. But one that some people like
- 29:23Speaker 5: to adopt.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Yeah, when did Stoops get hired at Kentucky?
- 29:27Speaker 5: Oh a million years ago, like twenty thirteen.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I don't know. Okay, Well, I'm pulling all the numbers
- 29:38Speaker 2: on Kentucky's scoring efficiency since he beats ten.
- 29:41Speaker 5: He beat Mullen in twenty sixteen, so he got hired
- 29:47Speaker 5: in twenty thirteen. He beat Mullen in twenty sixteen. Because
- 29:52Speaker 5: I was at Kentucky, I did a show for four
- 29:54Speaker 5: Rosas Bourbon.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Okay, so was your fault?
- 29:57Speaker 5: It was my fault that team just it was post
- 30:00Speaker 5: It was the first year post Stack, and they had
- 30:02Speaker 5: to get Fitzgerald up and running, and they went to
- 30:05Speaker 5: Kentucky and lost. They kicked a fifty yard field goal
- 30:09Speaker 5: to try to win the game.
- 30:11Speaker 2: But you know, and and so like with with Kentucky,
- 30:15Speaker 2: they're their numbers offensively, I mean, twenty twenty four, one
- 30:20Speaker 2: hundred and twenty third scoring efficiency in the country. Who Kentucky?
- 30:25Speaker 5: Good grief? That's awful. Yes, one hundred and twenty third
- 30:31Speaker 5: in offensive scoring efficiency and win.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Twenty twenty four, good lord and Ole Miss lost to
- 30:36Speaker 2: them twenty twenty five, ninety six at home, ninety six.
- 30:40Speaker 5: That's still one of the most So the sixth unbelievable upsets.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Sixteen year average scoring efficiency rank of Kentucky Okay, sixteen
- 30:50Speaker 2: years national rank scoring efficiency average seventy first. That was
- 30:56Speaker 2: an average year in the last six sixteen years. That
- 31:02Speaker 2: was an average year at Kentucky.
- 31:03Speaker 5: He could never get out of his own way. Terrible
- 31:07Speaker 5: and he made over one hundred million dollars. Oh my goodness,
- 31:10Speaker 5: I mean it's just brilliant. I don't know what you said.
- 31:13Speaker 5: He got hired in twenty thirteen. Yeah, okay, so twenty thirteen,
- 31:17Speaker 5: one hundred and third, twenty fourteen, ninetieth, twenty fifteen, ninety third.
- 31:22Speaker 5: So he started at Kentucky one oh three ninety ninety
- 31:25Speaker 5: three on offense and got his contract renewed.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Right, God bless him.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Dave Bar two day Bar two on the Out of
- 31:34Speaker 5: Bound Show, ESPN one oh five nine. The Zone brought
- 31:38Speaker 5: to you by Juniker Jewelry Store. That's the place for
- 31:41Speaker 5: engagement rings and bracelets and beautiful necklaces and earrings, all
- 31:47Speaker 5: that locally own Juniker Juniker Jewelry Store on Holland Colony
- 31:51Speaker 5: and Madison, right around the corner from our studio. Go
- 31:55Speaker 5: see our friends at Juniker Jewelry Store. Day Bar two
- 31:59Speaker 5: on the ship Straight Funk running It. I'm your host,
- 32:02Speaker 5: Bo Bounds. This is one O five to nine the
- 32:05Speaker 5: Zone ESPN, and we have a listener that wants to
- 32:10Speaker 5: know Bo. Please ask Bar two what Philip Montgomery brings
- 32:16Speaker 5: to the staff. I haven't heard a whole lot about him.
- 32:20Speaker 5: I would like to know where he fits in and
- 32:23Speaker 5: what he could possibly do for Jeff Levy and Camaro Taylor.
- 32:30Speaker 5: So for our listeners, Philip Montgomery, he's been at Auburn,
- 32:34Speaker 5: he's been a head coach at Tulsa. He's bounced around
- 32:39Speaker 5: a little bit. I think he's got a pretty solid
- 32:41Speaker 5: probably B minus or B grade as a coach. He's
- 32:44Speaker 5: a veteran. Levy and Philip Montgomery, I think we're together
- 32:49Speaker 5: at Baylor under Art Briles. Everybody knows what they did
- 32:54Speaker 5: on offense with RG three and that other dude I
- 32:58Speaker 5: can't remember his name at Baylor and they had a remember,
- 33:04Speaker 5: Art Briles was hired by Mike Leach. Art bros Was
- 33:08Speaker 5: a legendary coach in Texas high school football, and Leech
- 33:11Speaker 5: thought that that would be a good move for Texas
- 33:14Speaker 5: Tech to have all those connections. So in like nineteen
- 33:17Speaker 5: ninety nine or something, when Leech got hired from Oklahoma
- 33:21Speaker 5: at Texas Tech, he hired Art Briles. That gave Brills
- 33:25Speaker 5: his you know chance, his big shot, and I think
- 33:30Speaker 5: he became the head coach at Houston and then and
- 33:33Speaker 5: then Baylor. So bar two, can you tell me? What
- 33:37Speaker 5: can you tell me about offensive assistant coach Philip Montgomery
- 33:42Speaker 5: under Jeff Levy?
- 33:43Speaker 2: Okay, so right off the top of my head, without
- 33:45Speaker 2: pulling any numbers, Okay, Okay, I know him as a
- 33:48Speaker 2: play caller at Tulsa of having a really solid run. Okay,
- 33:55Speaker 2: he wasn't the play caller at Baylor. Okay, we know that, right.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Art Briles never let nobody call play neither Stief's is
- 34:01Speaker 2: like it's like saying it just does Kyle Flood call
- 34:04Speaker 2: plays at Texas or Steve Sarkisy no Stive Cult's plays
- 34:07Speaker 2: shut up? Right? So so at Baylor. Uh now, he
- 34:11Speaker 2: was cooc at Baylor and so eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Look at look at these numbers. Gosh, Baylor number nine
- 34:21Speaker 2: in the country in scoring efficiency, number six, number six,
- 34:25Speaker 2: number eleven four consecutive years. Right, we're just we're talking
- 34:29Speaker 2: about Kentucky just a second ago average in the seventy
- 34:31Speaker 2: one over sixteen years, right, and Brills in his last
- 34:35Speaker 2: four years, what was nine, six, six and eleven, six,
- 34:41Speaker 2: six and eleven and n that's the average of number
- 34:44Speaker 2: eight in the country.
- 34:45Speaker 5: For four years straight. That is filthy.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Completely, That is the exact word. I mean that.
- 34:53Speaker 5: That is top shelf, right, that is top shelf stuff.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Yeah, if you've got to ask how much it costs,
- 34:59Speaker 2: you can affoord.
- 35:00Speaker 5: That's right, right, that's exactly right.
- 35:02Speaker 2: So Tulsa said, Okay, Phil Montgomery, you ain't ever called
- 35:06Speaker 2: plays before. Come on over here, and let's see how
- 35:08Speaker 2: much of art rubbed off on you. First year at Tulsa.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Forty ninth in the country. Now, let's think about Tulsa.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Tulsa's recruits in the hundreds, right, right, they don't have
- 35:17Speaker 2: to nobody, They got no talent. That's dust bowl, right,
- 35:19Speaker 2: forty ninth in the country. Second season twenty sixth nice,
- 35:24Speaker 2: third season, forty ninth. So he went forty nine, twenty six,
- 35:28Speaker 2: forty nine out of one hundred and thirty teams in
- 35:31Speaker 2: three consecutive years.
- 35:32Speaker 5: That's strong.
- 35:33Speaker 2: That is really strong, Okay, this guy.
- 35:35Speaker 5: So this guy, real quick, we're talking Philip McComb, Philip Montgomery.
- 35:39Speaker 5: He has been hired by Jeff Levy as an outfitsive assistant.
- 35:43Speaker 5: And we had a listener who wanted to know about
- 35:46Speaker 5: if he was good and what all he had been
- 35:48Speaker 5: able to accomplish. This is this is good, go ahead.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Right and then but then the wheels fall off, right, Okay,
- 35:55Speaker 2: you know, so we went forty nine, twenty six, forty nine,
- 35:58Speaker 2: then we went we were kind of middle of the road.
- 36:01Speaker 2: We went ninety eight, eighty eight, sixty six, so he
- 36:06Speaker 2: dropped way down, but then improved and then sixty six,
- 36:09Speaker 2: then sixty five, then fifty four, so it was coming
- 36:12Speaker 2: back up, and that's when he got fired.
- 36:15Speaker 5: He was at Tulsa that long.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he was at Tulsa from fifteen to twenty two.
- 36:18Speaker 5: Well, you just di stain it at a place like that.
- 36:22Speaker 5: All in all that that tells me my takeaway is
- 36:28Speaker 5: he's pretty damn good.
- 36:30Speaker 2: You know. He is very very solid. Yeah, and we
- 36:32Speaker 2: had him when he left Tulsa. We still had him
- 36:35Speaker 2: as a four star offensive coordinator at the G six level. Okay, okay,
- 36:39Speaker 2: that is totally solid.
- 36:40Speaker 5: So that's that's good. And you know the last couple
- 36:43Speaker 5: of years have been a dysfunctional s show in start
- 36:48Speaker 5: Bull football wise, that MSU football fans have to be
- 36:53Speaker 5: excited to hear what they already knew, but you laid
- 36:57Speaker 5: it out. Numbers on the vast upgrade improvement of our
- 37:01Speaker 5: Nette over Hutzler because they don't want to be Hutzelert again.
- 37:04Speaker 5: And Philip Montgomery, if Jeff Levy allows him, could be
- 37:08Speaker 5: an asset as far as a voice in the room
- 37:10Speaker 5: and a voice on game day for Jeff Levy is
- 37:13Speaker 5: what you're saying.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Right, Well, and I mean, aren't they related now?
- 37:17Speaker 5: Uh? I don't think. I mean, I know Lev's related
- 37:22Speaker 5: to Brows because he married Browse's daughter and he's married to.
- 37:25Speaker 2: He's okay, right, but you know the connectivity there is
- 37:29Speaker 2: the Baylor thing with the Baylor thing, right, yeah, and
- 37:32Speaker 2: so and then and then once he got fired at Tulsa,
- 37:36Speaker 2: he went to Auburn for a season with Hugh, and
- 37:41Speaker 2: Hugh couldn't I don't think he could figure out whether
- 37:44Speaker 2: he wanted to call the players. Let Phil do it.
- 37:46Speaker 2: You know, if you look at Phil's play calling, Phil
- 37:48Speaker 2: and Hughes best play calling kind of mirrors each other,
- 37:52Speaker 2: right in terms of their philosophy when they run on second, third,
- 37:56Speaker 2: fourth down, Phil, Phil Montgomery and Hugh Freeze. Oh okay, well,
- 37:59Speaker 2: because Hugh hired him at Auburn.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Oh that's right, and it just but Hugh taking out Auburn.
- 38:06Speaker 5: Hugh has been a damn good play caller at Old
- 38:09Speaker 5: Miss in Arkansas State and Liberty.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Fascinating. Okay, good, right, really really good good? And then
- 38:14Speaker 2: and so and him and Phil seemed to get along
- 38:17Speaker 2: in terms of the numbers and so forth. And he
- 38:19Speaker 2: was there at Auburn for one year. It didn't work.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Hugh cut him loose. He went to the Birmingham Stallions.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Twenty twenty four, he picked up a check at Virginia
- 38:28Speaker 2: Tech and dropped a one oh four scoring efficiency. But
- 38:30Speaker 2: by then Brett Pryor is already out the door at
- 38:32Speaker 2: Virginia Tech, and so now he's at He's Mississippi State.
- 38:36Speaker 2: So you know, the potential that he brings in terms
- 38:39Speaker 2: of his mind as veteran experience, especially in play calling
- 38:42Speaker 2: on the passing game, I think is very solid.
- 38:46Speaker 5: Okay, that's that's actually some good news. I mean, I'm
- 38:53Speaker 5: still extremely skeptical because they shouldn't be in this situation
- 38:57Speaker 5: in the first place at seven and eighteen and one
- 38:58Speaker 5: in fifteen, and this was all self inflicted. But Arnett
- 39:02Speaker 5: and Montgomery and Camaro Taylor and these are kind of
- 39:06Speaker 5: the most important pieces are big time upgrades compared to
- 39:10Speaker 5: where they were last year.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I think the important thing here is the decision was
- 39:14Speaker 2: made to make a change right, right, and to try
- 39:18Speaker 2: to bring in a little bit more veteran presence, which
- 39:21Speaker 2: you have with Montgomery. And then defensively, we're hoping that
- 39:26Speaker 2: we get Zach Garnett twenty twenty that took the one
- 39:29Speaker 2: hundred and second defense Atssissippi State and turn it into
- 39:33Speaker 2: a top fifty defense the very next season, right, and
- 39:36Speaker 2: we're hoping for progression offensively, Okay, Mississippi States scoring efficiency
- 39:41Speaker 2: offense was eighty eighth and twenty twenty four last year
- 39:44Speaker 2: was seventy first, Right, So if we can get both
- 39:48Speaker 2: the offense, or you guys can get both the offense
- 39:50Speaker 2: and the defense into the top fifty in the country,
- 39:53Speaker 2: you know, now all of.
- 39:54Speaker 5: A sudden, you could win some games to get.
- 39:58Speaker 2: To seven and five. We talked about it, yes today,
- 40:00Speaker 2: five and seven this year is better than five and
- 40:03Speaker 2: seven last year. Schedule over schedule, right, but there's a
- 40:07Speaker 2: it's amazing the difference perception wise between five and seven
- 40:10Speaker 2: and seven and five or.
- 40:11Speaker 5: Six and six, no doubt.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Right, you know, somewhere, Jeff's got to win that big game, right, right,
- 40:20Speaker 2: He's got to win that Texas game. He's got to
- 40:22Speaker 2: win that Florida game. He's got to win the Tennessee.
- 40:24Speaker 2: He had his shots last year, you know, and I
- 40:27Speaker 2: do believe psychologically you have to lose before you win.
- 40:30Speaker 2: And hopefully, well Jeff's done that well. But well, the
- 40:34Speaker 2: first part in terms of high pressure games, closing him
- 40:37Speaker 2: out in the fourth quarter, right, you know, he had
- 40:39Speaker 2: that experience last year, couldn't close it. When he has
- 40:42Speaker 2: the opportunity this year, we expect it to be closed now, right,
- 40:46Speaker 2: We expect that game to be managed a little bit
- 40:47Speaker 2: differently and for the win to happen when he's in
- 40:51Speaker 2: a situation late in the.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Fourth Okay, Okay, wow, So I don't know whether to
- 41:02Speaker 5: be optimistic or just numb. After you're telling me about
- 41:07Speaker 5: the major upgrade that is Zach Arnett over Coleman Husser
- 41:11Speaker 5: and Philip Montgomery would be as far as grades. Philip
- 41:14Speaker 5: Montgomery would probably be the highest graded coach on the
- 41:16Speaker 5: staff regardless of position.
- 41:19Speaker 2: I don't have those. I don't have individual staff games
- 41:22Speaker 2: in front of me. I do recall who's your running
- 41:25Speaker 2: back coach? And I know that's you know, the position coaches.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I know that's getting a little farther down there, but
- 41:32Speaker 2: I do know the running back coach has an excellent
- 41:34Speaker 2: profile I believe for his career. But again, when we
- 41:38Speaker 2: talk about offense and defensive coordinator pairings, even with Zach
- 41:42Speaker 2: and Jeff, we're still talking the bottom half of the
- 41:46Speaker 2: SEC with with with OCDC combined.
- 41:49Speaker 5: Okay, oh, okay.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Right, But again, but I I should also build on
- 41:57Speaker 2: that is the SEC doesn't have a lot of good
- 42:00Speaker 2: O CDC combinations. There's holes everywhere.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Right, How is that are you buying? I mean, I
- 42:08Speaker 5: just think it's part of what happens. You just can't
- 42:10Speaker 5: win every every time and blah blah blah. But but
- 42:13Speaker 5: are you are you buying that the Big Ten? I mean,
- 42:17Speaker 5: Signetti's a freak, But are you buying that the Big
- 42:20Speaker 5: Ten is that much better more well coached than the SEC?
- 42:27Speaker 2: Oh? Not not that much better. I think we're you know,
- 42:29Speaker 2: I think we're talking coin flips, you know. But but
- 42:33Speaker 2: when we're talking about quality of the staff from top
- 42:36Speaker 2: to bottom, there's there's usually holes everywhere. Right, But if
- 42:42Speaker 2: you if you look at the SEC, the balance has
- 42:45Speaker 2: shifted to the offensive side. The SEC is full of
- 42:48Speaker 2: great offensive play callers, right, really good ones. You know,
- 42:52Speaker 2: you start getting down into the tens and the names
- 42:54Speaker 2: are still really good defensive coordinators. Once you get past
- 42:57Speaker 2: Kirby and then almost past Annibals, who's your guy? Who's next?
- 43:07Speaker 3: See?
- 43:07Speaker 5: I would be interested to see what your your numbers
- 43:10Speaker 5: come up with. Is it Brad White or is it
- 43:14Speaker 5: Baker at LSU or Golden at Ole?
- 43:16Speaker 2: Miss? Yeah, they're all four star guys.
- 43:18Speaker 5: Yeah, none of them are lead right, okay, right, yeah,
- 43:22Speaker 5: all right. The Out of Bounds Show is brought to
- 43:25Speaker 5: you by Ice Cold Michelobultra and Wings on the Grill Tonight.
