- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York Kates Mark Simone
- 0:05Speaker 1: Show on seven tenor.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Well, hey, there's a lot happening. We'll get to Cardinal
- 0:14Speaker 2: Dolan is leaving. That's very bad news. We'll get to
- 0:18Speaker 2: Brown University that presidents should be leaving. Just horrible job
- 0:22Speaker 2: she's done. We'll get to President Trump. We'll get to
- 0:25Speaker 2: the speech last night, a bit of a dud, but
- 0:29Speaker 2: we'll get to something else he did yesterday that is
- 0:32Speaker 2: going to upset everybody. It's not the right thing to do.
- 0:35Speaker 2: You shouldn't do it, but it's good that it just
- 0:38Speaker 2: drives these democrats in the media absolutely crazy. We'll get
- 0:42Speaker 2: to that, We'll get to Nick Reiner, and we'll get
- 0:46Speaker 2: to Jack Smith and a whole lot more. Hey, this
- 0:49Speaker 2: just breaking this morning. The Oscars scene on ABC TV
- 0:54Speaker 2: for decades decades, Oscar Sunday Night, ABC Oscars Channel seven,
- 1:00Speaker 2: ABC TV for decades and decades. And I think before that,
- 1:05Speaker 2: in its first few years, was NBC. I think I
- 1:07Speaker 2: think that's why Bob Hope was the host and Johnny Carson,
- 1:10Speaker 2: but it moved to ABC where it's been for decades. Well,
- 1:14Speaker 2: they lost the Oscars, They've got it for the next
- 1:16Speaker 2: two years, but then it moves to YouTube. YouTube got
- 1:25Speaker 2: the oscars. Now, YouTube is really taken over television. You know,
- 1:30Speaker 2: as a network, TV completely dies and has fewer and
- 1:34Speaker 2: fewer viewers every second. You think that Netflix and the
- 1:38Speaker 2: streaming services are taken over, but it's really YouTube that's
- 1:42Speaker 2: capturing the biggest share of the television audience. YouTube is
- 1:45Speaker 2: going to be the biggest thing. Now, this is a
- 1:47Speaker 2: big step getting the oscars. We always assumed Amazon or
- 1:52Speaker 2: Netflix would get the NFL or Major League base Keep
- 1:56Speaker 2: an eye on YouTube. Now the Oscars on YouTube. Is
- 1:59Speaker 2: it a good idea? Well, one thing it's gonna do.
- 2:03Speaker 2: It's going to bring families together because when the Oscars
- 2:07Speaker 2: are on YouTube, you're going to get those frantic calls.
- 2:09Speaker 2: You're gonna have to go to your mother's house. You're
- 2:11Speaker 2: gonna have to go to your grandmother's house and show
- 2:13Speaker 2: them how the hell to find YouTube. You know what,
- 2:17Speaker 2: you might as well plan on watching the oscars with them,
- 2:20Speaker 2: because no matter how much you show them, you're going
- 2:24Speaker 2: to get that call right before the oscars, I can't
- 2:26Speaker 2: find it, Well I lost it? How do you find it?
- 2:29Speaker 2: So you're gonna have to show them what the hell
- 2:31Speaker 2: YouTube is. But it's a big, big development. So the
- 2:36Speaker 2: Trump's speech last night was not great. It was let
- 2:40Speaker 2: me give you the inside story here. This was not
- 2:42Speaker 2: his idea. He didn't want to do this. This was
- 2:47Speaker 2: the staff pushing it, mostly Susie Wiles pushing this. You
- 2:52Speaker 2: know a couple of reasons. One when fake news and
- 2:56Speaker 2: the Democrats start coming up with a with a hoax,
- 2:59Speaker 2: with a mi and they start pounding it into people's
- 3:02Speaker 2: heads twenty four to seven. Everywhere you turn, it's all
- 3:04Speaker 2: you hear affordability crisis. Affordability crisis, affordability crisis. When you
- 3:09Speaker 2: hear it day and night, you actually, this is how
- 3:11Speaker 2: propaganda works. You actually start to think, oh my god,
- 3:14Speaker 2: this is an affordability crisis. There isn't We had one
- 3:17Speaker 2: two years ago, three years ago under Biden, you had
- 3:20Speaker 2: a terrible crisis. Prices were crazy, gas prices, everything was
- 3:24Speaker 2: going nuts. Now Trump has brought it down. He's still
- 3:27Speaker 2: got a ways to go, but in his first year
- 3:30Speaker 2: he brought it down dramatically. Biden had inflation at nine
- 3:33Speaker 2: percent one point, the highest in fifty years. When he left,
- 3:37Speaker 2: his average inflation was five percent. Trump has it down
- 3:41Speaker 2: right now to two point seven percent and falling. So
- 3:46Speaker 2: that was one reason for the speech, to try to
- 3:48Speaker 2: fight back on this myth that has been created. And
- 3:51Speaker 2: then you got a lot of great stuff that's going
- 3:54Speaker 2: to happen in the economy. The big beautiful bill has
- 3:58Speaker 2: big tax cuts for every so your paycheck will be
- 4:02Speaker 2: bigger every week because you'll be paying less tax. Now
- 4:04Speaker 2: it hasn't kicked in yet, it starts in January, so
- 4:08Speaker 2: everybody's going to get a huge race starting in January.
- 4:10Speaker 2: So he's talking about how much you got done this
- 4:12Speaker 2: year and what's going to happen next year. But it
- 4:14Speaker 2: wasn't a great speech. It was a teleprompter speech. Trump
- 4:18Speaker 2: is great with an audience, you know, he knows how
- 4:21Speaker 2: to perform for an audience, but reading a teleprompter is
- 4:25Speaker 2: not what he should be doing. And in an empty room,
- 4:29Speaker 2: he's just in a big empty room. And it's that
- 4:33Speaker 2: room where you know, they've been doing Christmas parties every
- 4:36Speaker 2: night at the White House, sometimes two a night, sometimes three,
- 4:41Speaker 2: and they have so many people to invite, like twenty
- 4:43Speaker 2: five thousand people to these White House Christmas parties, so
- 4:46Speaker 2: you have to do them every night for three weeks.
- 4:49Speaker 2: In fact, there's another one tonight. They just keep doing
- 4:51Speaker 2: these Christmas parties, and it's the same procedure every night.
- 4:55Speaker 2: The guests all come whatever amount they can do a night,
- 4:58Speaker 2: five hundred, and they all walk around the Red room,
- 5:01Speaker 2: the Blue room, the Green room, the Yellow room, this
- 5:03Speaker 2: room to that room, the map room, the Treaty room,
- 5:05Speaker 2: and then they wander around and at some point they
- 5:08Speaker 2: come and assemble in this one spot where there's a podium.
- 5:11Speaker 2: The President comes down and makes a Christmas Party speech.
- 5:14Speaker 2: And he's made this speech every night for three weeks,
- 5:18Speaker 2: the same speech, so you know, if you do it
- 5:21Speaker 2: too much, it gets stale. And it had that kind
- 5:24Speaker 2: of look last night. So basically the same situation, but
- 5:27Speaker 2: without an audience, just alone reading a teleprompter. So he
- 5:30Speaker 2: read it too loud, and he read it too fast,
- 5:32Speaker 2: and he kept talking like this, and it was too
- 5:34Speaker 2: fast and it was too loud. He was rushing through
- 5:36Speaker 2: it like this. I think that's because he didn't want
- 5:39Speaker 2: to do it. He was complaining off camera just before
- 5:42Speaker 2: he went on that Susie Wilds and everybody else pushed
- 5:45Speaker 2: him into doing this, so it's not what he wanted. Now,
- 5:47Speaker 2: the good news is because it was a well written speech.
- 5:51Speaker 2: A lot of people will just see it in print.
- 5:53Speaker 2: They'll read about it, and they'll see it in print.
- 5:55Speaker 2: In print, it looks great. But his delivery was like this,
- 5:58Speaker 2: and it was rushed and he was yelling, I'm just
- 6:00Speaker 2: trying to get through it. So it was a bit
- 6:02Speaker 2: of a dud. Here's someone the tariffs.
- 6:04Speaker 3: My favorite word, tariffs, which for many decades have been
- 6:08Speaker 3: used successfully by other countries against US, but not anymore.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Companies know that if they build in America, there are
- 6:16Speaker 3: no tariffs, and that's why they're coming home to the
- 6:19Speaker 3: USA in record numbers.
- 6:22Speaker 2: It's a little too loud. You know, when you're alone
- 6:24Speaker 2: in a room, you don't talk like this. Hear how
- 6:27Speaker 2: I'm talking. I'm yelling a little. If I'm on TV,
- 6:30Speaker 2: I can talk like this because on TV people are
- 6:33Speaker 2: usually about twelve feet away from the TV set. They're
- 6:36Speaker 2: over there on the couch. You can talk to them
- 6:38Speaker 2: like this. But when you're on the radio, you're usually
- 6:42Speaker 2: talking out of the speaker, which is like a foot away,
- 6:46Speaker 2: so you can't yell at them. You got to talk
- 6:48Speaker 2: like this. So if there's an audience, you can talk
- 6:51Speaker 2: like this to them. But if you're in an empty
- 6:54Speaker 2: room and you're just alone, you can you can talk
- 6:57Speaker 2: more intimately to people. So and he knows this kind
- 7:00Speaker 2: of stuff. I don't know why he didn't do that.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I guess because his heart wasn't in this speech. He
- 7:04Speaker 2: didn't want to do it. You know, when they do,
- 7:07Speaker 2: there reporters in the room and start asking questions. He
- 7:10Speaker 2: doesn't talk like this to them. You know, he talks
- 7:12Speaker 2: in a real voice. So it was too much yelling.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Now he's going to get criticism for blaming everything on Biden.
- 7:18Speaker 3: This is what the Biden administration allowed to happen to
- 7:22Speaker 3: our country, and it can never be allowed to happen again.
- 7:27Speaker 2: We had men playing in women's.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Sports, transgender for everybody, crime at record levels.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Now everybody can So why does he keep playing Biden?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Why does he have to keep enough with Biden? Biden's
- 7:39Speaker 2: not president anymore. Why does he have to keep because again, Democrats, media,
- 7:44Speaker 2: fake news, you're creating this whole fake scenario that he's
- 7:49Speaker 2: got an affordability crisis. It was an enormous affordability crisis
- 7:53Speaker 2: under Biden, and under him it's been dropping steadily and quickly.
- 7:58Speaker 2: You know, it got a ways to go, but it's
- 7:59Speaker 2: been dropped like crazy. So that's why he keeps having
- 8:02Speaker 2: a remind everybody, because he's trying to contradict a lie
- 8:05Speaker 2: that's been out there day and night for months that
- 8:08Speaker 2: somehow he's created an affordability cress. It has nothing to
- 8:11Speaker 2: do with it. In fact, he's been lessening it every month.
- 8:15Speaker 2: So now here's the other. This is going to be
- 8:21Speaker 2: another Trump problem, but maybe it won't be. I don't know.
- 8:25Speaker 2: This is so outrageous that it might be too much
- 8:30Speaker 2: even for fake news. You know, when Rob Reiner died,
- 8:35Speaker 2: he put out that tweet which I went back and
- 8:37Speaker 2: read it. It's not as bad as they're making it
- 8:39Speaker 2: out to be. The tweet starts off very nice, talking
- 8:42Speaker 2: about Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner and what a terrible
- 8:45Speaker 2: tragedy this is and how awful, and he talks about that,
- 8:49Speaker 2: and then if you'll go to the very end, he said,
- 8:51Speaker 2: may they both rest in peace. So that's very nice.
- 8:54Speaker 2: It's in the middle where he says, you know, Rob
- 8:57Speaker 2: Reiner was a guy filled with rage and hate speech,
- 8:59Speaker 2: which is true. He was. He was, go check my twitter.
- 9:02Speaker 2: We have documented all of this, the stuff Rob Briiner
- 9:06Speaker 2: was saying putting up online. It was just the ugliest, vile,
- 9:11Speaker 2: crude hate speech against Donald Trump, raging. You know, And
- 9:15Speaker 2: again I knew Rob Briner when you were with him.
- 9:18Speaker 2: He was the warmest, sweetest, nicest guy. So when you
- 9:22Speaker 2: read his tweeting and his things he was saying about Trump,
- 9:26Speaker 2: you can't believe this same guy could get so ugly
- 9:29Speaker 2: and vile and crude and cursing, and it's just very
- 9:34Speaker 2: Jeckyll in Heights. It makes you wonder. So that upset
- 9:37Speaker 2: a lot of people. And of course, you know, people said, well,
- 9:39Speaker 2: you shouldn't do that. You're the president. You have to
- 9:41Speaker 2: stay you know, graceful and dignified. And yeah, of course, okay,
- 9:47Speaker 2: so now they have. When you walk to the Oval Office,
- 9:50Speaker 2: you walk along the colonnade there along that wall where
- 9:53Speaker 2: he's put up all the portraits of the presidents, used
- 9:56Speaker 2: to be just an empty white wall. And when you
- 9:59Speaker 2: think about, he's right, that's where you greet the world
- 10:02Speaker 2: leaders in one part of the White House. Then you
- 10:03Speaker 2: go out side and you walk down this a long
- 10:06Speaker 2: colonnade to get to the Oval Office, and it's just empty. Wolves.
- 10:10Speaker 2: You see, he just said, let's line this with pictures
- 10:12Speaker 2: of all our presidents and beautiful gold frames. It was
- 10:16Speaker 2: very very nice, great idea. And now when it came
- 10:20Speaker 2: to Biden, he put instead of Biden's face, he put
- 10:23Speaker 2: an auto pen in there. All right, it's a little joke.
- 10:26Speaker 2: You shouldn't do that, but you can get away with it.
- 10:30Speaker 2: All right, it's not you know, it's not that bad.
- 10:34Speaker 2: But now he unveiled this yesterday, and again they're all
- 10:37Speaker 2: gonna go nuts over this. They're all gonna go crazy.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Although it hasn't exploded like I think it would. He
- 10:46Speaker 2: now put it, unveiled it yesterday. Under many of these
- 10:48Speaker 2: presidents he put plaques underneath saying things, and they're very
- 10:52Speaker 2: very insulting. So under Biden, and it's a beautiful, you know, gold,
- 10:57Speaker 2: very very ornate plaque like you'd see on a building
- 10:59Speaker 2: with the inscription on it. But the one er Biden says,
- 11:03Speaker 2: sleepy Joe Biden was by far the worst president in America.
- 11:07Speaker 2: And it goes on and on to talk about what
- 11:09Speaker 2: a crook he is, how he opened the borders let
- 11:12Speaker 2: twenty one million people in his Afghanistan disaster. I mean,
- 11:15Speaker 2: it's the worst stuff about Biden. It's a long but
- 11:18Speaker 2: I'm skipping through the nickname both sleepy and crooked Joe
- 11:22Speaker 2: Joe Biden was dominated by his radical left handler. It
- 11:26Speaker 2: goes on and on, and you could write this, and
- 11:29Speaker 2: you're not supposed to put it on the wall of
- 11:31Speaker 2: the White House in a gold plaque. So now, of
- 11:35Speaker 2: course any other president when they come in will take
- 11:37Speaker 2: this down. Under Bill Clinton, it's not as bad yet. No,
- 11:45Speaker 2: it's mostly good about he approved NAFTA. It's mostly good
- 11:48Speaker 2: about Clinton. But at the end it said President Clinton's
- 11:52Speaker 2: wife Hillary lost the presidency to Donald Trump. Now the
- 11:56Speaker 2: one for Obama, the Reagan one is just high praise
- 12:01Speaker 2: for Reagan, wonderful praise for Reagan. The one under Obama
- 12:05Speaker 2: was the first black president, a community organizer, a one
- 12:09Speaker 2: term senator from Illinois. Okay, you can get away with that.
- 12:13Speaker 2: He created the ineffective Unaffordable Care Act. Well, that's true,
- 12:16Speaker 2: but you're not supposed to put that on the wall.
- 12:19Speaker 2: His party losing both Houses of Congress. Under Obama, it
- 12:25Speaker 2: gets worse and worse. He crippled small business with crushing
- 12:28Speaker 2: regulations and an environmental red tape. Well, this is actually true.
- 12:32Speaker 2: You could make this case. He spied on the twenty
- 12:35Speaker 2: sixteen presidential campaign of Donald Trump. It's all. You could
- 12:41Speaker 2: go into court and prove this stuff true if you
- 12:43Speaker 2: had to, but you're not supposed to put it on
- 12:46Speaker 2: the wall of the White House. But again, it hasn't
- 12:50Speaker 2: exploded yet all over the news. But we'll see, we'll
- 12:54Speaker 2: see if they demand he'd take it down. Maybe it's
- 12:56Speaker 2: so over the top outrageous that they're afraid to go
- 12:59Speaker 2: after for it. They know it's some kind of trap.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I mean it's I mean, Howard Stern wouldn't have the
- 13:04Speaker 2: nerve to put this stuff on the wall. So hey,
- 13:07Speaker 2: the very bad news. Cardinal Dolan is leaving Cardinal Timothy Dolan,
- 13:10Speaker 2: who everybody loved sixteen years here as the cardinal. It's
- 13:17Speaker 2: nothing personal. The rule of the church is at seventy
- 13:21Speaker 2: five you have to resign. You have to resign at
- 13:24Speaker 2: seventy five. It's mandatory, and you put in your resignation. Now.
- 13:27Speaker 2: For Cardinal Dolan, that was last year. But sometimes they'll
- 13:31Speaker 2: delay accepting the resignation. And remember last year the pope died,
- 13:36Speaker 2: so that put a holt on everything. Nothing happened, and
- 13:41Speaker 2: then a new pope took over, and he obviously needs
- 13:44Speaker 2: many months to get settled and organized. So he's done that.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Now he's decided to accept the resignation and pick a
- 13:51Speaker 2: new cardinal for New York. And it's Ronald Hicks, who's
- 13:56Speaker 2: from Chicago, has a lot of connection to the pope
- 14:00Speaker 2: who's also from Chicago. Their careers overlapped a few times. Hicks,
- 14:05Speaker 2: He's not, you know, Dolan is a big, larger than life,
- 14:08Speaker 2: big life of the party personality. Hicks is more of
- 14:11Speaker 2: a quiet, gentle sort of a guy. But he's a
- 14:14Speaker 2: warm guy. He's got a good sense of humor. Here
- 14:18Speaker 2: he is accepting I want to do the will of God.
- 14:21Speaker 4: I asked him to tell the Holy Father that I
- 14:25Speaker 4: say yes with great humility and that I accept this
- 14:30Speaker 4: appointment with an open heart.
- 14:33Speaker 2: So he's here in New York today with the cardinal
- 14:35Speaker 2: being shown around.
- 14:36Speaker 4: And my name is Ron Hicks, and I have now.
- 14:42Speaker 2: First of all, he's got to call himself Ronald, this
- 14:46Speaker 2: Ron Hicks. It doesn't sound like a cardinal. When your
- 14:49Speaker 2: name is Ron Hicks. Sounds like you work at the
- 14:51Speaker 2: William Morris Agency. Sounds like you're a car sales But
- 14:55Speaker 2: here's my card Ron Hicks doesn't sound like a Cardinalnald
- 15:00Speaker 2: Hicks will sound better, make more sense.
- 15:02Speaker 4: It did New York about ten times in my life,
- 15:06Speaker 4: and every time I have visited, I have said to myself,
- 15:11Speaker 4: I love it. I love the culture, the food, the energy,
- 15:17Speaker 4: the plays, the neighborhoods, but especially I love the people.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Okay, okay, sounding like a bit of a tourist, but listen,
- 15:26Speaker 2: that's all the Cardinals. You remember Dolan, you think of
- 15:29Speaker 2: them as such a New Yorker. I remember when he
- 15:30Speaker 2: came here sixteen years ago from I think it was
- 15:32Speaker 2: Saint Louis. You have Saint Louis. He was the same thing.
- 15:36Speaker 2: He was new to New York, he didn't know his
- 15:38Speaker 2: way around, and of course he became a big, big,
- 15:40Speaker 2: big part of New York. So Ronald Hicks, Wilton, the people.
- 15:44Speaker 4: From all over the world who call this place home.
- 15:48Speaker 4: And every time that I visited, I've always said I
- 15:52Speaker 4: look forward to returning. And this time I'm returning not
- 15:57Speaker 4: only as a visitor, but I'm going to be returning
- 16:01Speaker 4: to stay.
- 16:03Speaker 2: So all right, now, he'll be good. He'll be good.
- 16:07Speaker 2: One of the reasons Dolan stayed a little longer than
- 16:10Speaker 2: is supposed to Catholic Church with the you know, the
- 16:15Speaker 2: sexual abuse and scandal and all that. They had to
- 16:17Speaker 2: clean that up. There was nothing to do with Dolan,
- 16:19Speaker 2: wasn't his fault, but you had to clean it up.
- 16:21Speaker 2: He's the one that worked out it like a billion
- 16:23Speaker 2: dollar settlement, and they had to settle all these lawsuits
- 16:27Speaker 2: and raise the money to settle it. And that's what
- 16:29Speaker 2: he's been doing for the last year. It's mostly done. Now,
- 16:32Speaker 2: he'll notice very quietly, the Catholic Church here in New
- 16:35Speaker 2: York has been selling a lot of it's very valuable
- 16:38Speaker 2: real estate. Just this week they finally sold over there
- 16:43Speaker 2: at the Palace Hotel. They the whole ground lease. They
- 16:46Speaker 2: just sold that for about four hundred and ninety million dollars.
- 16:49Speaker 2: So they've raised all the money that's been settled. And
- 16:53Speaker 2: Ronald Hicks, he made that joke. Every new cardinal makes
- 16:57Speaker 2: the same joke. I already made that joke this morning.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Nice speech, and he says, but I do have something
- 17:03Speaker 2: very controversial to say. I'm still a Cubs fan. So
- 17:09Speaker 2: Dolan did that when he came here to I'm still
- 17:11Speaker 2: a Cardinals fan. But now the only if there's a
- 17:15Speaker 2: bad side to the Hicks can be a little left
- 17:19Speaker 2: wing a little woke, but all right, that can be cured.
- 17:23Speaker 2: But we wish him very well, and we got a
- 17:25Speaker 2: lot to get to today. We'll take some calls. Next.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten in Mark.
- 17:36Speaker 1: On demand by setting up preseat for his podcast on
- 17:40Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app. Now back to Mark Simon on woor.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 17:50Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Chris
- 17:52Speaker 2: in Manhattan. Chris, how you doing?
- 17:54Speaker 5: I'm good?
- 17:55Speaker 6: Thanks Mark. First, let me just say I wish you
- 17:57Speaker 6: a very happy holiday season and they'll you have a
- 17:59Speaker 6: great vacation.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Nice.
- 18:01Speaker 6: Second, the about Trump, I think what he's doing he's
- 18:08Speaker 6: wait wait, oh wait, can I talk. I think he's hand.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Think you're gonna you're gonna start whining. Why does he
- 18:16Speaker 2: have to do?
- 18:17Speaker 6: But I am whining. I think he's Everything he's doing
- 18:21Speaker 6: that's good is going to be turned turned be undone
- 18:24Speaker 6: by the Democrats. I think he's handing the election to them.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Well, I mean he's not running for election. He's not what,
- 18:29Speaker 2: he's not running for anything.
- 18:31Speaker 6: No, I know he's not. But they're going to vote
- 18:33Speaker 6: against his policies.
- 18:34Speaker 2: The Demo. We don't know that because that's a year away.
- 18:36Speaker 2: It's a year from now, so the landscape will change many,
- 18:39Speaker 2: many times.
- 18:40Speaker 6: Well, do I know things are more expensive. I know
- 18:43Speaker 6: it's not his fault.
- 18:44Speaker 2: But you live in Manhattan. Gases now two dollars a gallon,
- 18:48Speaker 2: but if you're in New York it's still four or
- 18:49Speaker 2: five dollars.
- 18:50Speaker 6: I know it's under three in some parts of Long Round.
- 18:52Speaker 6: I know, but but food is expensive.
- 18:54Speaker 2: And again that's New York City.
- 18:58Speaker 6: Mark talk have a vertiplication.
- 19:02Speaker 2: I love the guy, but he's always why does he
- 19:04Speaker 2: have to Let's go to Mike in Ulster County. Mike,
- 19:08Speaker 2: how you.
- 19:08Speaker 7: Doing, Hey, Mark, Merry Christmas? First ball.
- 19:12Speaker 8: I did watch the speech last night. He did. The
- 19:15Speaker 8: President did look uncomfortable because it's not his venue. But
- 19:20Speaker 8: it's a speech that had to be made because the
- 19:23Speaker 8: media and the Democrats are playing on the fact that
- 19:26Speaker 8: for the most part, the American people are very impatient.
- 19:30Speaker 8: They want instant gratification.
- 19:32Speaker 2: And well, don't blame them now. As I said earlier,
- 19:35Speaker 2: they've been had this fake narrative drilled into their head
- 19:38Speaker 2: that we are suddenly in an affordability crisis when the
- 19:41Speaker 2: economy has actually greatly improved un last year. So he
- 19:43Speaker 2: needed to make the speech. It was a bad setting.
- 19:45Speaker 2: This was all designed by Susie Wiles and the staff.
- 19:48Speaker 2: And she's great, but she, you know, as far as
- 19:52Speaker 2: media skill, she's still in nineteen eighty three with Ronald Reagan,
- 19:56Speaker 2: where you get a podium and you read the teleprompter.
- 19:58Speaker 2: It doesn't work anymore.
- 20:00Speaker 9: Uh.
- 20:00Speaker 2: And Trump, Uh, I think you'll see it was a
- 20:03Speaker 2: dud the speech last night. It looks good on paper,
- 20:05Speaker 2: It was well written, but the delivery wasn't great. So
- 20:08Speaker 2: he'll never allow that to happen again. Next time, he'll
- 20:11Speaker 2: get some modern day communications people to come up with
- 20:14Speaker 2: a better setting and a better way to do that.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Let's go to Don in New York City.
- 20:18Speaker 5: Don.
- 20:18Speaker 2: How you doing?
- 20:20Speaker 7: Yes? Mark, listen, Mark, are you familiar with the song
- 20:24Speaker 7: Till after the holidays?
- 20:26Speaker 2: Tell what?
- 20:28Speaker 7: Till after the holidays?
- 20:29Speaker 9: Oh?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Till after the holidays? Am I familiar with it?
- 20:33Speaker 7: Yes?
- 20:33Speaker 5: Not?
- 20:33Speaker 2: Really? Was this like Al Jolson in the twenties? Huh?
- 20:39Speaker 2: Who said Garlands sang it? I know I don't remember it?
- 20:46Speaker 7: What?
- 20:46Speaker 2: Why?
- 20:48Speaker 7: Oh? Because I heard it recently on the radio.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Uh and who was playing at al Jasbo Collins. I'm kidding.
- 20:56Speaker 7: I was on WABC.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Oh okay, well it must be good then. Well, you know,
- 21:02Speaker 2: she recorded some beautiful, beautiful New Year's Christmas ballads. That's
- 21:06Speaker 2: probably one of them from the late fifties.
- 21:08Speaker 7: Very sad. It's something like whatever Happened to Christmas?
- 21:12Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, I'll check it out. You know, that's
- 21:13Speaker 2: one thing she was good. She would do these touching,
- 21:16Speaker 2: sad ballads. She was brilliant at it, being a great actress.
- 21:20Speaker 2: She was one of the great singers of the late
- 21:22Speaker 2: fifties and early sixties. In fact, to listen to her
- 21:24Speaker 2: live album at Carnegie Hall, one of the greatest albums ever.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Let's go to Joe in the Bronx. Joe, how you doing?
- 21:31Speaker 10: I'm doing better than I deserve.
- 21:33Speaker 2: And I hope you I'd agree with that. You don't
- 21:34Speaker 2: deserve to do this?
- 21:35Speaker 10: Well, knowing you no, because it's good this way, I'm
- 21:39Speaker 10: not bitter.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Well that's good.
- 21:42Speaker 10: So anyway, I was thinking about a way to help
- 21:46Speaker 10: on for the mid terms. Yes, and I came up
- 21:49Speaker 10: with something good. In one of my plays, character says.
- 21:54Speaker 9: You know, yeah, it sounds good.
- 21:59Speaker 10: What's a bad America?
- 22:01Speaker 2: Well, that's good.
- 22:02Speaker 10: They don't need the wooden Horse because they have the
- 22:06Speaker 10: Democratic Party.
- 22:09Speaker 2: That's great. How'd you come up with that's pretty amazingly. Oh, phenomenal. No, no,
- 22:18Speaker 2: it's excellent. Yeah, no, anyway, thanks for coming up with that. Anyway, Hey,
- 22:24Speaker 2: I forgot to mention one great thing in that speech
- 22:26Speaker 2: last night. You know, the tariffs. Some people love them,
- 22:29Speaker 2: some people don't. But the tariffs have brought in zillions
- 22:32Speaker 2: of dollars. Money is just flowing in from the tariffs.
- 22:35Speaker 2: So one thing he announced was every he called them warriors,
- 22:38Speaker 2: every military man and woman will get a thousand dollars
- 22:41Speaker 2: bonus this year, and he said they'll deliver it before Christmas.
- 22:45Speaker 2: So all of our great military soldiers one thousand dollars
- 22:49Speaker 2: bonus from the tariffs. Hey, when we come back, we're
- 22:51Speaker 2: going to talk to one of the greatest economists in
- 22:53Speaker 2: the world. We've got a real expert to talk about
- 22:56Speaker 2: the economy, affordability, inflation, the speech last night, it's all
- 23:00Speaker 2: of that. Next on seven to ten wo R with
- 23:02Speaker 2: Steve Moore.
- 23:03Speaker 11: We hope it's more Mark Mark Simone on seven ten
- 23:08Speaker 11: wor Well, Steve Moore a great economist, one of the finest.
- 23:13Speaker 2: In the world. You should get his latest book That
- 23:15Speaker 2: Can You Need a good Christmas Present for somebody? Excellent.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Get his book The Trump Economic Miracle. Excellent book. Also,
- 23:23Speaker 2: the best daily briefing comes from his group, the Committee
- 23:26Speaker 2: to Unleash Prosperity. It's free and have it come right
- 23:29Speaker 2: to your email everyday. Best news analysis. Just go to
- 23:32Speaker 2: Unleash Prosperity dot com and sign up. Unleash Prosperity dot com.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Steve Moore, how you doing.
- 23:40Speaker 12: Good Mary Christmas? And boy, we got a nice Christmas
- 23:43Speaker 12: present this morning with that low inflation number waves below expectations,
- 23:48Speaker 12: and we're now down to about two point six percent
- 23:50Speaker 12: inflation under Trump, which is, you know, half of what
- 23:53Speaker 12: it was under Biden five percent, So you know enough
- 23:56Speaker 12: about this affordability crisis. Prices of inflation has come down
- 24:01Speaker 12: a lot in just the last six months.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but it's an upsetting number if you're a Democrat.
- 24:07Speaker 2: They were looking for three, weren't they not two points?
- 24:10Speaker 12: Yeah, exactly, that's a big, big error. And incidentally, you know,
- 24:14Speaker 12: the most recent numbers, you know, for the last couple
- 24:17Speaker 12: of months were really low. That means that, you know,
- 24:19Speaker 12: we're looking at an inflation rate that will stay low
- 24:23Speaker 12: now for the months to come. I'm extremely bullish on
- 24:26Speaker 12: twenty twenty six. I think we're going to see I
- 24:29Speaker 12: liked what Trump had to say last night that the
- 24:30Speaker 12: best has yet to come. He's exactly right about that.
- 24:34Speaker 12: So feeling good about things. And you know, I can
- 24:37Speaker 12: even now go out nice and Christmas presents and with
- 24:39Speaker 12: what six days the shop left?
- 24:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, but it's a great technique they've come up
- 24:44Speaker 2: with the left and the Democrats, the media combined. You
- 24:47Speaker 2: just drilled something into people's heads and thousand times a day,
- 24:50Speaker 2: affordability crisis exactly, and they start to believe it.
- 24:53Speaker 12: So why didn't they use that? Why didn't they use
- 24:56Speaker 12: that term when Baden was president and inflation went up
- 24:58Speaker 12: to nine percent?
- 25:00Speaker 2: Me guess he was a Democrat.
- 25:05Speaker 12: It's unbelievable because you know, we've seen we're not bringing
- 25:09Speaker 12: inflation down as quickly as I'd like, but we're seeing
- 25:13Speaker 12: big improvement. And what about gas prices?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Now?
- 25:15Speaker 12: Look, I know you're there in the New York area
- 25:17Speaker 12: where you still pay what three four dollars a gallon,
- 25:19Speaker 12: but in most places, the price of gas is now
- 25:22Speaker 12: down to about two seventy nine a gallon, which is
- 25:25Speaker 12: really you know, remember it hit five dollars. Remember that Biden.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Oil is fifty five dollars.
- 25:32Speaker 12: Now amazing, Yeah it was. It was eighty dollars when
- 25:36Speaker 12: he came into office. Now it's fifty five. So that's
- 25:39Speaker 12: what about a thirty percent reduction in the price of oil.
- 25:43Speaker 12: And by the way, when the energy price goes down
- 25:46Speaker 12: like that, mark everything. It's sort of the lead indicator
- 25:50Speaker 12: where prices are headed because energy is a component of
- 25:53Speaker 12: everything way by, from toys to food to you know,
- 25:56Speaker 12: rent and housing. So look, it's a good economy. Trump
- 26:00Speaker 12: was right about that last night. Now, I know people
- 26:03Speaker 12: are hurting. I know people get angry when you say
- 26:05Speaker 12: that because they want to value ground bee for a sake,
- 26:07Speaker 12: and they get angry because it's really expensive. And my
- 26:10Speaker 12: wife is among those people who complains every time she
- 26:12Speaker 12: comes back to the grocery store. But no, we're cooking.
- 26:16Speaker 12: We got a good, decent jobs report, we got a
- 26:19Speaker 12: really good inflation report, and so it's going to be
- 26:22Speaker 12: a good Christmas Christmas Day for people. And twenty twenty six, Wow,
- 26:28Speaker 12: I just wait, the messes yet to come.
- 26:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 2: You know, the price of beef went up because the
- 26:33Speaker 2: Biden administration did everything they could to reduce the amount
- 26:36Speaker 2: of cattle we had. Remember they thought cows caused.
- 26:39Speaker 12: Yeah, we have a record number of cows. You know,
- 26:41Speaker 12: if you reduce the number of cows, what do you
- 26:42Speaker 12: think is going to happen to the beef prices? Simple economics, right,
- 26:49Speaker 12: you know.
- 26:49Speaker 2: The President rattled off all these things, inflation way down,
- 26:52Speaker 2: wages up for construction, all these different things. But if
- 26:54Speaker 2: you watch like the NBC Nightly News, the way they
- 26:57Speaker 2: phrased it is the President claimed to the reduced inflation
- 27:02Speaker 2: the present claim to How did they get away with
- 27:04Speaker 2: that kind of language.
- 27:05Speaker 12: Well, one mistake Trump made, and a lot of us
- 27:09Speaker 12: make this mistake. Trump said, oh, I'm going to bring
- 27:12Speaker 12: prices down now, you know we in fact, you don't
- 27:16Speaker 12: want disinflation. Disinflation is even worse than inflation, and I
- 27:19Speaker 12: mean we had disinflation throughout the Great Depression in nineteen thirties.
- 27:22Speaker 12: What we want is price stability, and we want to
- 27:24Speaker 12: bring that inflation right down to the that target of
- 27:27Speaker 12: two percent, and.
- 27:29Speaker 13: We're well on the way.
- 27:30Speaker 12: But that means that you know, prices will still rise,
- 27:33Speaker 12: but at a much lower rate than they did Underbiden. So,
- 27:37Speaker 12: you know, I saw this poll the other day. This
- 27:39Speaker 12: is a perfect example of how the media is the
- 27:40Speaker 12: source thing. They said eighty six percent of American people
- 27:44Speaker 12: say prices are everything's more expensive than ever. Well, that's true.
- 27:48Speaker 12: I mean prices are more expensive today than they were
- 27:52Speaker 12: fifty years ago, you know, and everything gets more expensive
- 27:56Speaker 12: over time. The point is that right now, the most
- 28:00Speaker 12: important measurement is our price is rising faster than people's
- 28:04Speaker 12: wages and salaries. And the answer to that is no.
- 28:07Speaker 12: Right now, wages and salaries are rising faster than inflation,
- 28:11Speaker 12: which means we have more after tax after inflation income,
- 28:15Speaker 12: which means we have more affordability. Now, look, I understand
- 28:18Speaker 12: housing is really expensive for young people. I understand Bee physics, somonthsom.
- 28:22Speaker 12: Healthcare is out of control. And that's a mystery because gee,
- 28:25Speaker 12: I thought we passed the Affordable Care Act. How could
- 28:28Speaker 12: help care prices be out of control?
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah? Now, Steve Moore, you're the expert economist. In one year,
- 28:33Speaker 2: President Trump cut inflation in half, took it from five percent? Yes,
- 28:38Speaker 2: is there anything? Is there any way you could have
- 28:40Speaker 2: done more than that? I mean, you don't. You can't
- 28:42Speaker 2: bring it down any faster than that, can you.
- 28:45Speaker 12: We could have, I mean we could have. I mean, look,
- 28:46Speaker 12: there's no question that the terroriffts did cause some inflation.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Uh.
- 28:51Speaker 12: And you know we saw a perfect example of that
- 28:53Speaker 12: is coffee prices rose a lot because we've put a
- 28:55Speaker 12: big tariff on you know, coffee beans coming in from
- 29:00Speaker 12: from Colombia and Brazil and so on. But it's been
- 29:05Speaker 12: a good it's been a good year for the US economy.
- 29:08Speaker 12: How about the fact that the economy has been growing
- 29:10Speaker 12: at three and a half to four percent for the
- 29:11Speaker 12: last nine months.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Now, yeah, Now, the Big Beautiful Bill.
- 29:14Speaker 12: That's a high growth number.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. The Big Beautiful Bill doesn't kick in for
- 29:18Speaker 2: taxpayers until January. And I'm told they'll get a reduction
- 29:22Speaker 2: in their taxes more in the Patriot. Yes, yeah, I'm
- 29:24Speaker 2: told the amount is going to shock people how much
- 29:27Speaker 2: of an increase they'll get.
- 29:29Speaker 12: That's exactly right. So the people come up to me
- 29:32Speaker 12: on the street and say, hey, well, you know you
- 29:34Speaker 12: were helped to pass that big beautiful bill. Where's my
- 29:36Speaker 12: tax And I said, just wait, it's coming in January.
- 29:39Speaker 12: You know, the no tax on tips, the no tax
- 29:41Speaker 12: on overtime that you know, people will change the withholding.
- 29:44Speaker 12: So most Americans will get a boost in their paychecks
- 29:49Speaker 12: starting in January. And that's going to be equivalent of
- 29:51Speaker 12: about two thousand dollars for the average family. That ain't
- 29:54Speaker 12: that ain't nothing.
- 29:55Speaker 2: No. Now, the only mine land mine out there that
- 29:59Speaker 2: could go off is this Affordable Care Act. Healthcare costs.
- 30:02Speaker 2: What are we going to do about that?
- 30:06Speaker 12: Well, with one good way to start is to make
- 30:10Speaker 12: sure that we don't pass more Obamacare subsidies, which keep
- 30:15Speaker 12: feeding the beast of the healthcare system. By the way,
- 30:18Speaker 12: most of that money if we pass the increase in
- 30:20Speaker 12: all those subsidies, you know who gets about sixty cents
- 30:23Speaker 12: of every dollar of the increased subsidies health insurance companies.
- 30:30Speaker 2: So but we have to extend. We have to give
- 30:33Speaker 2: an extension till we figure out a plan. I mean, right,
- 30:36Speaker 2: we're going.
- 30:37Speaker 12: To look, it's a disaster. The healthcare system is a disaster.
- 30:40Speaker 12: They've ruined it, they've ruined it Mark and you know,
- 30:44Speaker 12: it's it's unbelievable because it's the one thing we never
- 30:47Speaker 12: have how much it's going to cost? Right, we never
- 30:49Speaker 12: ask when you know when you go to the doctor
- 30:51Speaker 12: or the physician or the hospital and they say you
- 30:54Speaker 12: need an MRI, do you do you ask see how
- 30:56Speaker 12: much that's going to cost?
- 30:57Speaker 7: Yeah, nobody does.
- 31:00Speaker 12: That's like you know, going to the grocery store and saying, oh,
- 31:03Speaker 12: I'll take that and that and that and not looking
- 31:05Speaker 12: at the price tag. So we got to get the
- 31:06Speaker 12: consumer back in the market here, so everybody becomes and
- 31:10Speaker 12: that way, you know, uh, you need insurance for your
- 31:14Speaker 12: you know those rare really expensive things like if you
- 31:17Speaker 12: get cancered out forbid, or break your leg or you have,
- 31:20Speaker 12: you know, a chronic disease, you want to be covered.
- 31:22Speaker 12: But you know we've got to put the patient back
- 31:24Speaker 12: an equation and why not.
- 31:26Speaker 7: How about this?
- 31:26Speaker 12: This is an idea Trump is paid for. If you
- 31:29Speaker 12: were to pay for some of these medical procedures, but
- 31:31Speaker 12: with cash, you would pay twenty five to thirty percent
- 31:34Speaker 12: less less. There are some places, by the way, an
- 31:37Speaker 12: MRI literally in Washington, c one hospital charge with eight
- 31:41Speaker 12: hundred dollars.
- 31:41Speaker 2: For an MRI.
- 31:42Speaker 12: The other one costs you five charge you five thousand dollars.
- 31:45Speaker 12: What yeah, I mean, it's the pricing is unbelievable. We
- 31:49Speaker 12: need price transparency. That's something Trump's been really good at.
- 31:51Speaker 12: So anyway, I am I'm very optimistic.
- 31:55Speaker 7: Are we going to be on next.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Week at all? Yeah?
- 32:00Speaker 7: Oh well, I have a merry, merry Christmas.
- 32:03Speaker 12: I have a happy, happy New Year, and we I'm
- 32:05Speaker 12: not going to get a pay raise for my weekly
- 32:07Speaker 12: segment with you next year.
- 32:10Speaker 2: We're giving you a triple triple next year. Triple what
- 32:13Speaker 2: you getting?
- 32:14Speaker 12: Wait, triple zero is still zero?
- 32:16Speaker 2: All right, quadruple. You are a great negotiator.
- 32:20Speaker 7: All right.
- 32:21Speaker 12: So anyway, Mark, have a great, great Christmas, and you
- 32:25Speaker 12: can't wait to talk to the end of new year,
- 32:26Speaker 12: and good things are to come. Bunks, and Merry Christmas

- 33:41Speaker 2: There's some good signs of things that might happen. We'll
- 33:45Speaker 2: explain in the next hour. Don't forget. I'll be off
- 33:48Speaker 2: for the Christmas break. Curtis will be filling in for
- 33:51Speaker 2: two weeks. That'll be great. Back after the news seven
- 33:54Speaker 2: to ten WR, the Mark.
- 33:56Speaker 11: Simone Show, delivering the news before.
- 33:59Speaker 6: It is on seven ten wr.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Well that's today Thursday. It's one week until Christmas is
- 34:09Speaker 2: a week from today. Unbelievable. It's almost time for New
- 34:13Speaker 2: Year's resolutions. It's almost time for look back of best
- 34:17Speaker 2: of twenty twenty five? Can you believe it? The year
- 34:20Speaker 2: just flown by. So Nick Reiner was in court with
- 34:27Speaker 2: no tell that was he had on. It's they call
- 34:30Speaker 2: it a suicide vest. It's a weird blue thing covering up.
- 34:34Speaker 2: He had shackles on, and obviously a very very dangerous,
- 34:39Speaker 2: troubled guy. He's being held in isolation. He's on suicide watch.
- 34:43Speaker 2: They brought him into court basically only said one thing.
- 34:47Speaker 2: He only spoke once when the judge said they agreed
- 34:51Speaker 2: to delay until January the arraignment and all that stuff,
- 34:57Speaker 2: and then she said, are you okay giving up your
- 35:01Speaker 2: right to swift and he said, yes, you're on it.
- 35:03Speaker 2: It's the only thing he said in court that day.
- 35:06Speaker 2: This attorney has Jackson is one of the top top
- 35:09Speaker 2: top Los Angeles criminal attorneys. Handled a lot of big,
- 35:13Speaker 2: big cases. It's say, if you want to hire this
- 35:15Speaker 2: guy on a murder charge and get defended by him,
- 35:18Speaker 2: it's about a million bucks. So I would assume the
- 35:22Speaker 2: family is paying for it. Here's the attorney.
- 35:25Speaker 14: Afterwards, You're set for January seventh, foreign arraignments.
- 35:29Speaker 9: That's the next court date.
- 35:30Speaker 14: And that's all I have to say at this point.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Well, so the kid will be locked up until then, dangerous,
- 35:37Speaker 2: dangerous kid.
- 35:38Speaker 14: We asked that during this process you allow the system
- 35:42Speaker 14: to move forward in the way that it was designed
- 35:44Speaker 14: to move forward, not with a rush to judgment, not
- 35:47Speaker 14: with jumping to conclusions, but with restraint and with dignity
- 35:51Speaker 14: and with the respect that this system and this process deserves,
- 35:56Speaker 14: and that the family deserves.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Very well said, but be honest, I'm gonna rush the
- 36:01Speaker 2: judgment on this one. I am going to definitely jump
- 36:04Speaker 2: the conclusions with this deranged psycho kid. I will rush
- 36:08Speaker 2: the judgment on this one. But that's what you do
- 36:10Speaker 2: for a million dollars. You sound good and you make
- 36:12Speaker 2: these speeches, but I really don't know how they I mean,
- 36:19Speaker 2: you know what, I would assume in the end, they're
- 36:20Speaker 2: gonna have DNA evidence that will absolutely convict this kid
- 36:25Speaker 2: through a hard DNA evidence. Although it is Los Angeles
- 36:28Speaker 2: where they have screwed up more cases. You remember, the
- 36:31Speaker 2: OJ case was lost because they didn't properly secure the evidence.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Remember they had the blood all over him, do you remember,
- 36:38Speaker 2: oj He had blood on his golf hand glove, He
- 36:41Speaker 2: had blood on his socks, He had blood in his bedroom,
- 36:43Speaker 2: he had blood in his washing machine. The blood was
- 36:46Speaker 2: every place, but they collected it and then they didn't remember.
- 36:49Speaker 2: They didn't secure the evidence properly. Remember that detective was
- 36:52Speaker 2: his name, Van Adder. How's that for a memory? Had
- 36:56Speaker 2: to admit under oath that he put it the test
- 36:59Speaker 2: tube with the blood. He the edit in his sport
- 37:01Speaker 2: coat pocket for a week before he vouch it or
- 37:03Speaker 2: something like that. They just screwed it up. So anything
- 37:05Speaker 2: can happen in Los Angeles. Now, in the Brown University shooting,
- 37:10Speaker 2: it turns out this Brown University has got one really bumbling,
- 37:14Speaker 2: stupid president. Her name is I forget what her name is,
- 37:18Speaker 2: But in fact there's talk now of hauling her in
- 37:21Speaker 2: front of Congress and making you testify about how badly
- 37:24Speaker 2: run Brown University was. You know, I kept pointing out
- 37:27Speaker 2: the security director. I don't like his resume. He's got
- 37:31Speaker 2: twenty thirty years of school safety. But you know, somewhere
- 37:35Speaker 2: else he was a director of security at a school
- 37:38Speaker 2: somewhere else. He was a patrolman, but on a school
- 37:41Speaker 2: a security force. You know, you'd like to get a
- 37:43Speaker 2: guy from real law enforcement, a real ex I would
- 37:47Speaker 2: hire an next NYPD captain or something like that, or
- 37:50Speaker 2: somebody with some real law enforcement experience, because if you
- 37:54Speaker 2: look at Brown University, they have no clue as to
- 37:56Speaker 2: what happened here. They can't give you a video of
- 37:58Speaker 2: the guy. All they got that video you see is
- 38:00Speaker 2: somebody's ring doorbell thing from three blocks away. What the
- 38:06Speaker 2: hell kind of campus does not have surveillance cameras everywhere?
- 38:11Speaker 2: The restaurants have them everywhere. We have, look at we
- 38:14Speaker 2: got them all over the hallway. Look around here, go
- 38:18Speaker 2: down the hall, turn the corner. That's like you got
- 38:20Speaker 2: to pass twelve security cameras. How does the university with
- 38:24Speaker 2: a bunch of crazy kids, how do they not have
- 38:26Speaker 2: surveillance cameras? They just don't. This Brown president and Brown University,
- 38:32Speaker 2: her name, I forget her name, and then she's blaming
- 38:35Speaker 2: the gun violence, gun violence, gun we have. The gun
- 38:38Speaker 2: didn't cause the problem. The shooter did. And you don't
- 38:41Speaker 2: have surveillance cameras, so we can't get a picture of
- 38:44Speaker 2: the guy.
- 38:44Speaker 15: The shooter is responsible horrific gun violence, took the lives
- 38:49Speaker 15: of these students and hospitalized others. And it's deeply sad
- 38:53Speaker 15: and tragic that schools across the country are targets of violence.
- 38:57Speaker 15: Brown is no exception.
- 39:00Speaker 2: She's gonna get hauled in front of Congress, and I
- 39:01Speaker 2: have testified on her oarth. She's get three million a year,
- 39:04Speaker 2: three million a year and doesn't have a proper head
- 39:07Speaker 2: of security, does not have surveillance cameras, all the necessary equipment.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Her background, well, she's an economist. Well there you go.
- 39:16Speaker 2: An economist, not the good kind, not the Steve more kind.
- 39:20Speaker 2: This is like the academic economists. You know, they're just
- 39:23Speaker 2: sitting in a university somewhere and never make contact with
- 39:27Speaker 2: the real world. Oh, actually she did. Look she was
- 39:29Speaker 2: at Princeton. An economist at Princeton. Okay. New York Times
- 39:34Speaker 2: is this New York Times is the most incoonfident, bumbling
- 39:40Speaker 2: partisan disturbing details from the New York Times stunning Trump investigation,
- 39:47Speaker 2: Trump Epstein investigation. This is The New York Times published
- 39:52Speaker 2: its most comprehensive investigation yet into President Trump's relationship with
- 39:57Speaker 2: Jeffrey Epstein. Now there's not much of a relation. They
- 40:00Speaker 2: knew each other for a couple of years when he
- 40:02Speaker 2: was a first a zillionaire and he came to Pond
- 40:04Speaker 2: Beach and was throwing money around. He joined mar A Lago.
- 40:07Speaker 2: And whenever you run a resort, a hotel, a club,
- 40:11Speaker 2: if a new guy in town's got zillions of dollars
- 40:13Speaker 2: and he's spending like crazy at Coortia, and he becomes
- 40:16Speaker 2: a memory of club, of coursing over, you say hello,
- 40:17Speaker 2: You go to his parties and invite him to stuff.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Perfectly normal happens all the time. Times they had to
- 40:24Speaker 2: admit in the little fine print, all the Times found
- 40:27Speaker 2: no evidence implicating Trump in Epstein's sucks trafficking crimes. But
- 40:32Speaker 2: but they did so. Their investigation reveals a social and
- 40:36Speaker 2: personal relationship far beyond what has been acknowledged. Now, what
- 40:40Speaker 2: are they based that, Well, they based this on They
- 40:45Speaker 2: were going through Epstein's stuff, and he had a copy
- 40:47Speaker 2: of Trump's book, The Art of the Comeback, very good book,
- 40:50Speaker 2: by the way, one of his best. It's out of print,
- 40:53Speaker 2: but it's a great book. But in the book, which
- 40:56Speaker 2: was nineteen ninety seven, that's how long ago Trump knew Epstein.
- 41:01Speaker 2: He broke up with him right away. He found the
- 41:03Speaker 2: guy was creepy and got rid of him. But in
- 41:05Speaker 2: nineteen ninety seven he gave Trump a book and he
- 41:10Speaker 2: inscribed the book. He autographed it to him. And this
- 41:13Speaker 2: is what the New York Times is basing this on,
- 41:17Speaker 2: that he was much closer than we think, because he
- 41:19Speaker 2: wrote in the book. Guess what he wrote to Jeff,
- 41:24Speaker 2: you are the greatest. Donald ha ha. They got him,
- 41:29Speaker 2: you are the great Well, I hate to break it
- 41:31Speaker 2: to you. I got a copy of the Art of
- 41:33Speaker 2: the Comeback from nineteen ninety seven, and guess what he
- 41:36Speaker 2: wrote in my book, the same thing, you are the greatest.
- 41:40Speaker 2: I hate to break it to you, New York Times.
- 41:41Speaker 2: I could show you twenty letters I have from him
- 41:43Speaker 2: through the years where that's what he writes at the end.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I got a million notes from him that he always writes,
- 41:49Speaker 2: you are great or you are the greatest. It's just
- 41:51Speaker 2: standard for him. It doesn't mean anything. It shows you
- 41:55Speaker 2: absolutely nothing about their relationship. You go back to the nineties,
- 42:01Speaker 2: where you know, I'd m see a dinner forum or
- 42:05Speaker 2: and he'd send you a note you were a great MC,
- 42:07Speaker 2: thank you so much and then underneath it would be tight,
- 42:09Speaker 2: but underneath you would write with the big sharpie, you
- 42:12Speaker 2: are the greatest Donald. It's just standard. He does that
- 42:16Speaker 2: for everybody. So of course the New York Times never
- 42:19Speaker 2: really investigates, or they would have checked that out and
- 42:22Speaker 2: gotten to the bottom of that and realized they had
- 42:24Speaker 2: nothing there. You remember the kiss cam at the Patriots Stadium,
- 42:33Speaker 2: the kiss cam scandal. It was Coldplay the concert and
- 42:37Speaker 2: the big CEO is out with an employee. They've gone
- 42:42Speaker 2: to a concert, and that kiss cam just you know
- 42:47Speaker 2: how many people in that stadium, fifty thousand, It just
- 42:50Speaker 2: zooms around and picks out somebody. What are the odds
- 42:54Speaker 2: that it would land on these two who are having
- 42:56Speaker 2: an affair, cheating, not supposed to be out there and
- 42:59Speaker 2: are holding each other arm in arm and she had
- 43:03Speaker 2: to resign. I guess he had to resign. Well, she's
- 43:05Speaker 2: finally speaking out for the first time ever. She's finally
- 43:08Speaker 2: speaking out, and she spoke out and gave an interview.
- 43:13Speaker 2: I'm reading the interview. I don't really know what how
- 43:15Speaker 2: she's saying. It's kind of vague. She said the sixteen
- 43:19Speaker 2: second public display of affection with her. Then boss left
- 43:22Speaker 2: her She says it left me as a meme and unemployable.
- 43:27Speaker 2: She had not been able to get another job. She says,
- 43:30Speaker 2: what does this mean? I made a bad decision. I
- 43:33Speaker 2: had a couple of high noons and danced and acted
- 43:36Speaker 2: inappropriately with my boss while admitting he was her big
- 43:42Speaker 2: happy crush. What does that mean I made a bad
- 43:45Speaker 2: decision and had a couple of high noons. Does that
- 43:50Speaker 2: mean she was like Gary Cooper getting in a gunfight
- 43:52Speaker 2: or what does it mean? Does it mean high noons?
- 43:54Speaker 2: Does that mean in the middle of the day they
- 43:55Speaker 2: went to a like a motel or something. I don't know.
- 43:59Speaker 2: I guess that's what supposed to mean, and it's not nothing.
- 44:02Speaker 2: I took accountability. I gave up my career for that.
- 44:05Speaker 2: That's the price I chose to pay. I don't think
- 44:07Speaker 2: she chose that. I think that's how it ended up.
- 44:10Speaker 2: But coming forward, I don't know why. I guess is
- 44:14Speaker 2: she going to have a book deal? Does she want
- 44:16Speaker 2: to get on the view? She says, I'm not a celebrity.
- 44:19Speaker 2: I'm just a mom from New Hampshire. Even if I
- 44:22Speaker 2: did have an affair, it's not anybody's business. It has
- 44:25Speaker 2: been like a scarlet letter. People erased anything and everything
- 44:30Speaker 2: I've accomplished in my life and achieved in my career.
- 44:34Speaker 2: This can't be the final word. Okay, I guess what
- 44:38Speaker 2: it is. She hasn't been able to get a job,
- 44:39Speaker 2: So this is she's going to And she's not wrong.
- 44:42Speaker 2: You know, everything else fails. Go public, get a lot
- 44:45Speaker 2: of attentions. You can get a job out of it,
- 44:46Speaker 2: she said. Instead, I became a meme and unemployable. I
- 44:51Speaker 2: was the most recognized. Oh no, I was the most
- 44:54Speaker 2: maligned HR manager in HR history. Yeah. Actually, if you're
- 45:01Speaker 2: the HR manager, aren't you supposed to be watching for
- 45:03Speaker 2: this kind of thing and stopping it, not doing it yourself. Yeah, Hey,
- 45:08Speaker 2: Mam donnie. Two weeks from today is that New Year's Day? Yeah?
- 45:16Speaker 2: Two weeks from today takes office, the last two weeks
- 45:20Speaker 2: of Eric Adams. Two weeks from today, Mam Donnie is
- 45:23Speaker 2: sworn in. Now. The biggest thing everybody's worried about, obviously,
- 45:27Speaker 2: is crime number two would be these homeless camps all
- 45:29Speaker 2: over the place. Uh, here's some good news, some good news.
- 45:35Speaker 2: The US Attorney Southern District, that's the most powerful US
- 45:39Speaker 2: Attorney's office. The current US attorney's a guy named Jay Clayton.
- 45:43Speaker 2: He's great, really great Jay Clayton. He has quite a career.
- 45:48Speaker 2: You know, he was the SEC chairman in Trump's first term.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Donald Trump likes him a lot, talks to him constantly.
- 45:55Speaker 2: And Jay Clayton as the US attorney. You know, in
- 45:58Speaker 2: the Southern district, they're usually going after some big fraud case,
- 46:01Speaker 2: or they're going after some big corporation, some big drug
- 46:05Speaker 2: trafficky whatever, big big stuff. But Clayton has said he
- 46:11Speaker 2: and his office, and this is good news with mom
- 46:14Speaker 2: Donney company said he in his office will focus on
- 46:18Speaker 2: street crime. And they can do this. They can do this.
- 46:21Speaker 2: They can do a great job. And these federal guys
- 46:23Speaker 2: are even better. Sometimes they'll go after drugs, they'll go
- 46:28Speaker 2: after guns, they'll go after violence, they'll go after all
- 46:31Speaker 2: kinds of crime. Reason I say they're better. NYPD is great.
- 46:34Speaker 2: But problem with the NYPD. They'll do a great job,
- 46:37Speaker 2: but then it goes into a New York City court,
- 46:40Speaker 2: a New York City judge and New York City jury,
- 46:43Speaker 2: and you know, he goes to Alvin Bragg Local DA
- 46:47Speaker 2: and all these people do is let the criminals back
- 46:49Speaker 2: out in the street. Now, in the case of Clayton,
- 46:51Speaker 2: it's federal. It goes to a federal prosecutor, and they
- 46:55Speaker 2: don't let everybody go. They'll actually lock them up. And
- 46:59Speaker 2: as Clayton said, the one thing we do know is
- 47:01Speaker 2: if you keep letting the criminals back out, you're going
- 47:04Speaker 2: to have a crime wave. If you'll lock them up
- 47:06Speaker 2: and keep them locked up, crime drops dramatically. He says,
- 47:10Speaker 2: we know from studies repeat violent offenders, continuous custody is
- 47:15Speaker 2: the thing that reduces crime the most. Rudy Giuliani did
- 47:19Speaker 2: a little of this when he was mayor. They used
- 47:21Speaker 2: to have one day a week would be Federal Day
- 47:23Speaker 2: where the cops would go out there and have federal
- 47:26Speaker 2: officers with them, so the cops would break the case,
- 47:29Speaker 2: find the criminal, and then hand him over to the
- 47:31Speaker 2: Feds because they could make sure he got locked up,
- 47:34Speaker 2: unlike locals here with the das that we have the
- 47:37Speaker 2: crazy ones. So that's very very good news, and apparently
- 47:41Speaker 2: Trump is on board with this. So if it does
- 47:45Speaker 2: start to have if there is starting to be a
- 47:47Speaker 2: crime problem, you'll see if the Feds step in on
- 47:49Speaker 2: the streets in New York and start arresting criminals and
- 47:52Speaker 2: making sure they don't get out. Very good news. Dan
- 47:56Speaker 2: Bongino is going to leave as FBI Deputy Director. It's
- 47:59Speaker 2: been confirmed. The replacements are a couple of guys. They're
- 48:05Speaker 2: just you know, career FBI guys. So, but Bongino has
- 48:10Speaker 2: already cleaned out his desk. He will officially stay until
- 48:13Speaker 2: January and then he'll leave. President Trump said Dan did
- 48:17Speaker 2: a great job. I think he wants to go back
- 48:18Speaker 2: to his show. Yeah, I don't blame him. You know,
- 48:22Speaker 2: the problem is being the deputy director. Basically you're just
- 48:24Speaker 2: running day to day operations, which if you're in that business,
- 48:28Speaker 2: it's a great job. But if you're you know, I
- 48:31Speaker 2: gotta be honest with you, it's much more fun doing this,
- 48:33Speaker 2: you know, going on TV and being on the radio
- 48:35Speaker 2: and doing broadcasting. It's a lot more fun than sitting
- 48:39Speaker 2: in an office all day doing FBI business. And for
- 48:43Speaker 2: a lot of these guys that leave, I don't know
- 48:47Speaker 2: how they do it, you know, I mean it's fun,
- 48:49Speaker 2: you know, it's great. All you do is have fun
- 48:51Speaker 2: all day in broadcasting. So Bongino wants to get back
- 48:55Speaker 2: to that. Hey, you know this assisted suicide thing where
- 48:59Speaker 2: you can just you want to die and get the
- 49:02Speaker 2: medical aid and dying. You know, it's like doctor suicide.
- 49:06Speaker 2: You can do this in Canada, did it? They legalized
- 49:09Speaker 2: it in twenty sixteen. In fact, within five years, doctor
- 49:12Speaker 2: assistant suicide became one of the top five causes of
- 49:16Speaker 2: death in Canada. So they're pushing this in New York
- 49:20Speaker 2: and Kathy Hochel surprised everybody by getting on board with this.
- 49:23Speaker 2: You want to commit suicide, you want to die, you
- 49:26Speaker 2: can go to the doctor and have him suicide. You
- 49:29Speaker 2: Kavorki in you Now, why would Hochel suddenly get it?
- 49:32Speaker 2: Why would she want to be Well, the insurance companies
- 49:37Speaker 2: are pushing this like crazy. In fact, they've been spending
- 49:41Speaker 2: a lot of money, spending a ton of money donating
- 49:45Speaker 2: to politicians. They want this because it'll save them a fortune. Now,
- 49:50Speaker 2: who would want to go commit suicide? Well, somebody who's
- 49:53Speaker 2: got a terrible illness that's going to require, you know,
- 49:57Speaker 2: catastrophic medical care. Well, if you don't want to go
- 50:01Speaker 2: through that, you'd rather just commit suicide. It's you know,
- 50:05Speaker 2: for you, you think it's better for the insurance company. It's
- 50:08Speaker 2: a hell of a lot better. You know that your insurance.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Medical bills could be ten million bucks by the time
- 50:13Speaker 2: you're done twenty years later. So the insurance company would
- 50:16Speaker 2: love to have you just go away. So they've been
- 50:19Speaker 2: bribing and donating and paying off politicians like crazy. And
- 50:23Speaker 2: guess who's suddenly on board Kathy Hokele. Well you do
- 50:26Speaker 2: the math. That's why she suddenly is on board with this. Hey,
- 50:30Speaker 2: we'll take Jimmy Fayalo will be with us in a
- 50:32Speaker 2: few minutes. We'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three
- 50:35Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred
- 50:39Speaker 2: three two one zero seven ten.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Give wor a bre said on the iHeartRadio app to
- 50:46Speaker 1: hear Mark Simone and all the wr hosts in an instance.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone show on WOR.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Hey six some calls. Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike,
- 50:59Speaker 2: how you doing? Mhm, Good morning, Mark, Good morning, Mike.
- 51:03Speaker 16: I want to wish you a very pleasant vacation.
- 51:07Speaker 2: That a great vacation, just a pleasant one, a great
- 51:13Speaker 2: with you you have a pleasant.
- 51:19Speaker 16: You know, the President looked p O last night and
- 51:21Speaker 16: I think he feels like he's in person alone, you know,
- 51:24Speaker 16: even even supporters, you know, and who are analysts and pundits.
- 51:28Speaker 16: You know, they can't come ight out and support him.
- 51:31Speaker 16: They always have to dump on him before they say
- 51:33Speaker 16: anything positive about him. And I think he's frustrated by that.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Well, no, he's okay. The reason he was a little mad,
- 51:39Speaker 2: like he did not want to do that last night,
- 51:40Speaker 2: that was the staff pushing that. Susie wils pushed it,
- 51:43Speaker 2: and right before he went it in front of the camera,
- 51:45Speaker 2: he said, she's making me do this. The last thing
- 51:48Speaker 2: he believes in is a formal speech, reading a teleprompter
- 51:51Speaker 2: at a podium, all alone in a room.
- 51:53Speaker 16: That's like, I agree, but she's influenced by all these
- 51:56Speaker 16: pundits who say he.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Has to talk to very good chief of staff. But
- 52:01Speaker 2: she's too old school, old fashioned. This is the kind
- 52:04Speaker 2: of thing at president went do in nineteen eighty six.
- 52:06Speaker 2: It made sense.
- 52:07Speaker 16: It's not the age of Reagan anymore.
- 52:08Speaker 2: You're right, Yeah, it's too old fashioned. You know, thanks
- 52:11Speaker 2: for calling Mike the fact that she's so old school,
- 52:14Speaker 2: old fashioned. It's a very good thing when it comes
- 52:17Speaker 2: to running the office and discipline, but when it comes
- 52:19Speaker 2: to media communication. I think he realized last night, don't
- 52:23Speaker 2: listen to her on that stuff. Let's go to Vincent
- 52:26Speaker 2: and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 52:28Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark, Good morning man, Mark. I'd like to
- 52:31Speaker 5: wish you a merry Christmas and a happy twenty twenty sixth,
- 52:35Speaker 5: and to thank the Woor family and staff for another
- 52:40Speaker 5: great year of radio and especially your technical crew is great.
- 52:47Speaker 5: The fade ins and fade outs a flawless unlike the
- 52:51Speaker 5: radio station up to Dow.
- 52:52Speaker 2: You know most people glad you said that most people
- 52:55Speaker 2: don't pay attention to the fade ins.
- 52:57Speaker 5: Ah Man, your staff is really on the other station
- 53:03Speaker 5: up the dial. I'm not gonna.
- 53:04Speaker 2: Measure any it, but you can't. You know. See, we like,
- 53:08Speaker 2: we like use a lot of contemporary music. Every other
- 53:11Speaker 2: station right here, it's all songs from nineteen eighty three.
- 53:13Speaker 2: It's all the old stuff.
- 53:15Speaker 5: But not only that, Mark, they're faded in and out,
- 53:18Speaker 5: and a lot of times they get cross talk, they
- 53:20Speaker 5: get two programs playing at once. I mean, you're going
- 53:24Speaker 5: what am I in the twilight zone?
- 53:26Speaker 7: Mark?
- 53:27Speaker 5: That being said, I know you're going to be attending
- 53:29Speaker 5: a lot of parties which you already have been attending,
- 53:33Speaker 5: and I know you're gonna probably speak to President Trump,
- 53:36Speaker 5: will maybe even go party, which for President Trump friends
- 53:42Speaker 5: in Italy that sent me a package.
- 53:45Speaker 2: First off, what do you mean they sent me a package?
- 53:48Speaker 2: What does a.
- 53:49Speaker 5: Package for mealy? And they told me they couldn't even
- 53:51Speaker 5: put all the stuff in there that they wanted because
- 53:54Speaker 5: of the kind of package. So anyway, Mark, I can't
- 53:58Speaker 5: get so any I'm told that it's being held up
- 54:02Speaker 5: for customs. All Mark, Well, put in a good word
- 54:06Speaker 5: for me, you know what I'm saying.
- 54:08Speaker 2: You know, if I were customs, if something came from
- 54:10Speaker 2: your friends in Italy to you, I I want to
- 54:13Speaker 2: check that package too, you know, Come on, Mark, No, no, well,
- 54:16Speaker 2: we'll see what we can do.
- 54:17Speaker 5: Well, hey, man, have a great vacation, you know, you know,
- 54:22Speaker 5: as Donald Trump would ride at the bottom. No, you
- 54:25Speaker 5: are the best, and thanks for a great great Thanks.
- 54:29Speaker 2: You're one of the stars of the show. People come
- 54:32Speaker 2: up to me all the time though you're one of
- 54:33Speaker 2: the first things they mentioned.
- 54:35Speaker 5: Well, it's all it's all because of you and the
- 54:38Speaker 5: wor family and your staff. I wanted once again, your
- 54:44Speaker 5: crew did the best, man right.
- 54:46Speaker 2: Mart Vincent, thanks for calling hey. When we come back.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayaler he's on every night here at nine o'clock
- 54:51Speaker 2: excellent show. We'll talk to the great comedian Jimmy Faylor
- 54:54Speaker 2: next on seven to ten w o R.
- 54:58Speaker 11: Mister New York marks on seven ten WR.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Well Jimmy Pala, the great comedian, the excellent talk show host.
- 55:07Speaker 2: You can hear him now every night at nine o'clock
- 55:10Speaker 2: right here on w R every night nine to midnight. Hey,
- 55:14Speaker 2: and don't miss his Saturday night show, Fox News Channel's
- 55:17Speaker 2: the best late night talk show, finest monologue in TV,
- 55:20Speaker 2: Saturday nights at ten Fox News Channel A w R
- 55:23Speaker 2: every weeknight here at nine, Jimmy Fayla, How you doing?
- 55:28Speaker 13: I'm doing?
- 55:29Speaker 9: Man?
- 55:29Speaker 12: This is it last week.
- 55:32Speaker 9: Of normalcy before Mom Donnie takes over. Isn't that crazy?
- 55:37Speaker 2: Two weeks from today he actually has an inauguration day.
- 55:40Speaker 9: Yeah, that's that's the exact day. So I was explaining
- 55:43Speaker 9: this to people from out of town. I'm like, you know,
- 55:46Speaker 9: you still get sidewalk stantas till about the thirty first,
- 55:49Speaker 9: but then they go home and you get Mom Donnie.
- 55:51Speaker 13: Asking for money instead.
- 55:53Speaker 9: It just changes seasons just like that.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Oh god, hey, I feel all fat, bloated and these
- 56:01Speaker 2: I can't go to like four hundred Christmas parties in
- 56:02Speaker 2: two weeks, so you have the same problem.
- 56:05Speaker 9: Oh, buddy, it is so bad because the food right now,
- 56:11Speaker 9: Like I'm not even halfway into what I'm what I'm
- 56:14Speaker 9: committed to eat between now and Christmas, and I already
- 56:17Speaker 9: have the wardrobe department chasing me with an ozembic needle.
- 56:20Speaker 9: So I'm in a tough spot here, Simon. Like i
- 56:25Speaker 9: come pulling sick to a Christmas party. I've never done
- 56:27Speaker 9: that before.
- 56:28Speaker 2: No thousands of my at one buffet. You know I didn't.
- 56:31Speaker 2: I forgot you could actually eat sitting down. I didn't
- 56:33Speaker 2: even know you could do that anymore. So, hey, what
- 56:36Speaker 2: do you think of this? The Oscar. It's been on
- 56:38Speaker 2: television for a million years, ABC for decades, It's going
- 56:42Speaker 2: to YouTube. What does that signify?
- 56:46Speaker 9: Well, we had always knew the show was too long,
- 56:51Speaker 9: and know how they would say it was too.
- 56:52Speaker 13: Long, and they're worried about.
- 56:53Speaker 9: Advertising and stuff. I don't know that anybody even cares.
- 56:58Speaker 9: Like they have fallen so foreign prestige, Like you think
- 57:01Speaker 9: about that, okay, Like the Oscars used to be like
- 57:05Speaker 9: the classiest, biggest spectacle in the history of the of
- 57:08Speaker 9: the country every year, Like that was the night like
- 57:10Speaker 9: the one night. Now they're gonna be co headlining YouTube
- 57:14Speaker 9: with a dog riding a skateboard, you know, some guy
- 57:18Speaker 9: teaching a blow up doll how to salsedan. Like it
- 57:21Speaker 9: doesn't seem like a fall in class, a little bit
- 57:23Speaker 9: a fall from grace maybe.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Well yeah, but you're right. They used to have to.
- 57:27Speaker 2: You know. They were yelling to wrap it up by
- 57:29Speaker 2: eleven o'clock for the news YouTube. They can take five
- 57:32Speaker 2: hours if they want so, it'll it'll, yep, totally get
- 57:35Speaker 2: out of control. So New Year's Eves that's the worst
- 57:39Speaker 2: night of the year, isn't it. It's a really annoying night.
- 57:43Speaker 13: Oh buddy.
- 57:44Speaker 9: If you are driving a cab, which is how I
- 57:47Speaker 9: started out in New Year's Eve, everyone should do it once.
- 57:50Speaker 9: It's like going to watch the ball drop in Tonker.
- 57:52Speaker 9: You should do it once, you know, if you could,
- 57:53Speaker 9: you can do it once.
- 57:54Speaker 13: Nobody I know does it twice.
- 57:55Speaker 9: I don't know a cab driver who has driven multiple
- 57:58Speaker 9: New Year's eaves. They've driven wall okay, and they've seen
- 58:01Speaker 9: everything you'd expect to see. Okay. It's like a well
- 58:04Speaker 9: dressed Saint Patrick's Day parade.
- 58:07Speaker 13: You know, Saint Patrick State Parade.
- 58:08Speaker 9: All my drunk relatives come into the city marching the parade.
- 58:11Speaker 9: Than they're hammered and screaming and breaking up and crying.
- 58:14Speaker 9: And that's pretty much New Year's Eve. Yeah, except you're
- 58:17Speaker 9: trapped in a small vehicle with them instead of a
- 58:19Speaker 9: bar with a jukebox.
- 58:20Speaker 13: It's intense.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Well in New York s e. When you make more money,
- 58:24Speaker 2: when you make a fortune on New Year's Eve as
- 58:25Speaker 2: a cab driver.
- 58:26Speaker 9: Yeah, but you wind up giving half of it to
- 58:28Speaker 9: the guy at the garage who has to clean all
- 58:31Speaker 9: the substances out of the back.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Okay, Hey, Joe Biden, he seems to be showing up
- 58:38Speaker 2: in public more and more, making more speech. What the
- 58:40Speaker 2: hell why is he suddenly out in public everywhere?
- 58:44Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 58:44Speaker 9: I don't like, I don't get what's going on with that,
- 58:47Speaker 9: because you know, we watched him last week when he
- 58:50Speaker 9: said the United States of Ameer got it?
- 58:51Speaker 13: Do you remember that again?
- 58:52Speaker 9: With the United States of America got it? And you
- 58:55Speaker 9: know I always tell you this. He makes me feel
- 58:58Speaker 9: bad for the sign language and interpret you know, because
- 59:02Speaker 9: that guy finally got a break after four years of
- 59:05Speaker 9: having to make up sign Now Biden's back out on
- 59:08Speaker 9: the road inventing words. Look, if you're the sign language
- 59:11Speaker 9: interpreter guy, you don't have a symbol for ameragot it.
- 59:14Speaker 2: You know, that's a good point. Hey, Trump's President Trump's
- 59:20Speaker 2: speech last night. I don't know. I don't think he's
- 59:22Speaker 2: going his best reading off the teleprompter, do you no?
- 59:25Speaker 9: And it was funny because he delivered the speech like
- 59:28Speaker 9: he had ten thousand people screaming in an arena, which
- 59:31Speaker 9: made it look a little weird in a dry room.
- 59:35Speaker 13: You know, he was kind of like overperforming.
- 59:37Speaker 7: And somebody was telling me, well, like we.
- 59:39Speaker 9: You don't understand the network's only gave him fifteen minutes.
- 59:41Speaker 9: I get that, but it doesn't mean just because you
- 59:44Speaker 9: have fifteen minutes, you need to squeeze in two hours
- 59:47Speaker 9: and ten minutes worth of material like he was. You know,
- 59:50Speaker 9: that was a runway stream and he made a lot
- 59:53Speaker 9: of good points, but like, you don't necessarily process them
- 59:56Speaker 9: all when they come at you that quick. So the
- 59:59Speaker 9: one thing I took away though, as I.
- 1:00:01Speaker 13: Was saying on Twitter, he gave money to the troops.
- 1:00:04Speaker 9: So we've got a president who gives money to the troops.
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: The last president gave drag shows to the troops, so
- 1:00:10Speaker 9: I think we're in a better place.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: Hey. Also, he was missing all the bells and whistles.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Usually when you do a speech, you know, you have
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: all the cabinet around, you're shaking hands after you're done
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: or something like that, or like a little pregame. They
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: didn't do any of that, did they. Everybody else was gone.
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: Yeah, it was the state it was.
- 1:00:25Speaker 9: It was the state of the Union minus the Union.
- 1:00:28Speaker 9: But he he came out.
- 1:00:31Speaker 13: You know, he's very forceful, uh.
- 1:00:34Speaker 9: And you know he made points. But the thing is,
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: it's we do one thing about Trump, like if it's
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: on his mind, it's on your television, it's on your
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: Twitter feed. Like he doesn't necessarily have the bedside manner
- 1:00:45Speaker 9: of like good evening and happy holidays. It literally opened
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: with like Joe Biden has dementia. He routined the country
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: we were about to die. I turned it around and.
- 1:00:58Speaker 13: Happy holidays, thank you.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Hey, Dan Bungeeo, Dan Bungino's leaving the FBI. And I
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: was saying before I can understand you would know it's
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: fun to do a TV show, it's fun to do
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: a radio show. Who would give that up to go
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: sit at a desk in FBI headquarters and it's the
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: most boring job in the.
- 1:01:16Speaker 9: Early You're not the only one who's asked yourself that
- 1:01:18Speaker 9: question because you want to know what he probably was
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: killing him too, is you know when he was in
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: the podcast space, he could say whatever the hell he wanted,
- 1:01:29Speaker 9: none of it needed to be true. And you know
- 1:01:31Speaker 9: he was selling merch like Epstein didn't hang himself, Like
- 1:01:34Speaker 9: that's what he was doing. But then when you get into.
- 1:01:37Speaker 13: That job, you got to rein it in a little bit.
- 1:01:40Speaker 9: And it also sucks because things that you say can
- 1:01:44Speaker 9: be disproven, Like remember when he had to go on
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: TV and go I know I used to say he
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: didn't hang himself, but trust me, I saw the evidence
- 1:01:51Speaker 9: he hung himself. And what I loved about that video
- 1:01:54Speaker 9: is if you looked close, you could see the CIA
- 1:01:57Speaker 9: person pointing the gun at him from behind the curtain.
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: It's nice, nice the way they do that, you know.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: But you know, all of our Fox buddies, like I
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: don't know, Sean Duffy, whoever, would you rather be doing
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: a TV show than the transportation secretary meeting with railroad
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: union exit? Who the hell wants to do that? All day?
- 1:02:17Speaker 13: Yeah, Well, I would rather.
- 1:02:18Speaker 9: Be doing TV than anything because if I had a
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: cabinet job, they would run a background check and that'd
- 1:02:23Speaker 9: be the end of all of it. You know, my
- 1:02:25Speaker 9: twenties who But I get it. It's it's a cool
- 1:02:28Speaker 9: thing for a minute, though, because it's the one for
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: a minute. A lot of people for a minute. A
- 1:02:33Speaker 9: lot of people who work in news don't want to
- 1:02:35Speaker 9: cover the story.
- 1:02:36Speaker 13: They want to be the story.
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: So if you get one of those jobs, for a
- 1:02:40Speaker 9: little while, you're the story. But then what you've come
- 1:02:43Speaker 9: to realize is, you know, being the story gets old.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think.
- 1:02:48Speaker 13: Where we're at now.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Hey, Jimmy Faylor is on w o R every night.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: It's an excellent show. It's very funny, entertaining, good formative
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: nine to midnight every weeknight. And what do you got
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: tonight on the show?
- 1:03:00Speaker 13: Oh, it is all going down.
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: We actually have the founder of the Manhattan Comedy Schools
- 1:03:04Speaker 9: who has been in stand up you know, he started
- 1:03:07Speaker 9: Caroline Networks, Gotham Comedy Club, and we're coming to talk comedy,
- 1:03:11Speaker 9: actually comedy over the holidays and how it can.
- 1:03:14Speaker 15: Save you.
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: If you don't get along with So it's kind of
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: like we're doing an interview.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Yeah, America, Well we urge everybody to listen because all
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: of you who start telling jokes and think you're actually funny,
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: listen to professionals give you some guidance on how to
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: do it. That would be great.
- 1:03:32Speaker 9: You're gonna charge you, man, that's the least we could do.
- 1:03:36Speaker 9: At least we could do.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: Hey, listen tonight at nine. Also make sure you watch
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: He's got the best late night showing TV Saturday nights
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: at ten o'clock every Saturday night ten o'clock Fox News Show.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: A little too early to know what you're going to
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: do Saturday night though, right, Oh, I have a.
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: Good idea of what's coming down the pipe belt we have.
- 1:03:56Speaker 9: This is a whole when Neil deGrasse Tyson is coming on,
- 1:03:59Speaker 9: which is a big deal because it's not every day
- 1:04:02Speaker 9: the guy who runs this planetarium hangs out with the
- 1:04:05Speaker 9: kids who got stoned on the school trips for the planetarium.
- 1:04:08Speaker 9: You know what I mean. It's a nice touch, but
- 1:04:12Speaker 9: we're excited. It's gonna be a good one.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: All right. That's Saturday nights at ten. And also he's
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: got the best, the funniest monologue in TV. Saturday nights
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: at ten Jimmy Fayla and a very funny entertaining show
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: tonight nine o'clock on w OR Jimmy Fayla. Great to
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: talk to you every week. Have a great Christmas. I'll
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: talk to you in the new year.
- 1:04:32Speaker 13: Damn right, Hell ho home Man'll see you soon, all.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: Right, take care. Yeah, I'll be off for two weeks.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Actually I'm off tomorrow. Ken Rizzotto be here tomorrow, but
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: for the next two weeks after that, the final two
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: weeks of the year, Curtis Sliwa will be filling in
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: for me. That should be interesting. And it's that time everybody.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: It's not just me, I know down the hall, Elvis
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: Durant taking two weeks off over there, Charlemagne taking two weeks.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: It's the Christmas break. Everybody kind of disappears. But we'll
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: have the best fill in. Curtis Sliwa will be here
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: every day ten to noon on seven to ten w R.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Here's more mar Simone on seven ten WOR.
- 1:05:12Speaker 9: Whoa.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to be off for the rest of
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: the year. I'll be back in January. Christmas break, so
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: but you can follow me on Twitter. You can follow
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: me on Facebook, Instagram, all that stuff. We'll keep in
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: touch that way, and that'll be good. Let's go one
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: more thing before the day is done. I got an
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: mc a luncheon for the police athletically. George Pataki will
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: be our speaker. Great, you know, think about this, he
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: was the last great governor. Well, David Patterson was a
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: great governor, but me really was George Pataki the greatest
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: governor of our recent lifetime. Think about it. He just
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: left when he wanted to leave. He decided to move
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: on and after three terms and run again. David Patterson decided,
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: you want to do something else, didn't run again. Outside
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: of that, the last couple of governors left with the police,
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Jason them, I remember Spitzer Cuomo, all like driven out
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: of office and scandal. So our last great governor Pataki
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: and always there to help out with the charity stuff.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: What else. Christmas parties, Yeah, there's a few more of them.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I can't take any more Christmas parties.
- 1:06:25Speaker 7: Oh my god.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: That you just overeat and overeat and overeat and over
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: and then you work here and every time you turn
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: around there's six more buffets out there down there. Just
