- 1:05Speaker 1: Today we have a guest back who I absolutely love.
- 1:09Speaker 1: It's the gossip guru, AJ Benza. He is back with
- 1:13Speaker 1: all the buzz. Today's guest needs no introduction. He's the
- 1:16Speaker 1: guy who knows all the celebs, dirty secrets, and loves
- 1:19Speaker 1: to spill it. AJ Benza is back with us to
- 1:20Speaker 1: break down all the latest and greatest gossip. and scandals
- 1:23Speaker 1: from today's headline. I just want to tell you that
- 1:27Speaker 1: when I do episodes like this, like I'll remind you
- 1:29Speaker 1: that I do not like to cover gossip.
- 1:32Speaker 2: That's not really what this show is about.
- 1:34Speaker 1: But once in a while, I like to have someone
- 1:36Speaker 1: on like a David Yontif or an AJ Benza. I
- 1:40Speaker 1: have David on because he'll talk specifically about pop culture
- 1:44Speaker 1: and Bravo stuff. AJ is much different. He has a
- 1:48Speaker 1: journalism degree. He has a background in real education in
- 1:54Speaker 1: this world of being a real journalist. He knows what
- 1:58Speaker 1: that's about. And then not only that, he's lived and
- 2:01Speaker 1: experienced life with all these celebrities. He's been a celebrity
- 2:06Speaker 1: in his own right, and he's covered every celebrity scandal.
- 2:09Speaker 1: He has all the cell phone numbers in his phone
- 2:11Speaker 1: for the people that he's talking about. So when he speaks,
- 2:15Speaker 1: People should listen because he is a credible source on
- 2:19Speaker 1: the information that he spills. If it's buzzworthy, we talk
- 2:22Speaker 1: about it today. We get into the Taylor Swift, Travis
- 2:24Speaker 1: Kelsey romance blowing up the NFL and social media. AJ
- 2:29Speaker 1: gives us the inside scoop on Julia Fox's days as
- 2:31Speaker 1: a dominatrix. We talk about Jada and Will's sex parties
- 2:36Speaker 1: and who Tupac's real killer is. We also get into
- 2:39Speaker 1: Britney Spears' mic drop moments from her book. AJ also
- 2:43Speaker 1: opens up about his personal setbacks and how he's made
- 2:45Speaker 1: it through to the other side. He talks about the
- 2:48Speaker 1: state of gossip in entertainment and if there is a
- 2:50Speaker 1: place for du moi in this brand new journalism. There
- 2:56Speaker 1: is so much in this episode, you'll really have to listen.
- 2:59Speaker 1: So sit back, get a glass of wine, enjoy yourself
- 3:02Speaker 1: because what you hear is super explosive and super juicy.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Enjoy AJ Benza. AJ Benza, thank you for joining me
- 3:42Speaker 1: once again on Misunderstood. I'm so happy that you're here.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Well, look, I'd love to see you. Unfortunately, right now,
- 3:54Speaker 3: I can't see your face because we have a lag
- 3:57Speaker 3: situation going between us. But always a pleasure to show
- 4:02Speaker 3: up on your show, Rich.
- 4:04Speaker 2: All right. So we'll see how far we get before
- 4:07Speaker 2: we have to redo this.
- 4:08Speaker 1: But let's jump right into it, because I have you
- 4:10Speaker 1: here today to talk to talk about the top stories
- 4:14Speaker 1: that are going on and get your take, because I
- 4:16Speaker 1: think you have such a different take on these things
- 4:19Speaker 1: than other people. So the first thing that makes sense
- 4:22Speaker 1: to start with is the Taylor.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And Travis story.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Love affair, because now it seems like it is a
- 4:28Speaker 1: real thing. Um, they've attended, she has attended his fourth game.
- 4:32Speaker 1: She seems to be as good luck charm. Uh, he
- 4:34Speaker 1: has won every game that she has been at and
- 4:37Speaker 1: she he's actually won every game since they became, you know, public.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Uh, what do you think about this? Um, you know,
- 4:46Speaker 2: this coupling here?
- 4:48Speaker 3: Well, by the way, they also won a Super Bowl
- 4:52Speaker 3: without her anywhere near the stadium, okay? So let's relax
- 4:55Speaker 3: about how much of a good luck charm she is.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That's a really good point.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I don't think this will go past the spring. I
- 5:03Speaker 3: think Taylor Swift is one of the best marketers ever.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I think she knows how to butter her toast and
- 5:12Speaker 3: to combine with the NFL and, you know, use herself
- 5:17Speaker 3: and her face. And combining with the great Travis Kelsey,
- 5:23Speaker 3: nothing can go wrong. But I don't think this will go. Look,
- 5:27Speaker 3: here's the thing. I don't want to speak at a turn.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Travis Kelsey dated five very curvy black women before Taylor Swift. OK,
- 5:36Speaker 3: she's a white girl with no discernible ass. OK, this
- 5:42Speaker 3: is not what he likes, but it's good for the public.
- 5:45Speaker 3: It'll go on until May. Then it'll be over.
- 5:50Speaker 1: You know, it's very interesting because it is true that
- 5:54Speaker 1: his last five girlfriends were curvy African-American women. I did
- 6:00Speaker 1: notice that he does seem to have a type up
- 6:02Speaker 1: until now, but obviously it's not hurting his wallet. It's
- 6:06Speaker 1: not hurting his fame. And I do think, listen, I
- 6:08Speaker 1: have an 11 year old daughter. In the last month,
- 6:11Speaker 1: we've watched every Kansas City game. She walks around in
- 6:15Speaker 1: her number 87 jersey with, you know, Kelsey on the
- 6:19Speaker 1: back of it. She has a newfound love of football.
- 6:22Speaker 1: She even instead of playing Roblox, she plays a football
- 6:26Speaker 1: game and she knows all the all the, you know,
- 6:29Speaker 1: the things you say in football, fourth down, 10th, whatever
- 6:32Speaker 1: it is.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I don't even know.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So I think it's really affected young girls in a
- 6:37Speaker 1: way that's very interesting.
- 6:38Speaker 2: So I'm all for it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But I will say for, you know, once you're on
- 6:45Speaker 1: a pedestal, once you're on a pedestal like that, people
- 6:48Speaker 1: love you so much. It makes me fear for what
- 6:50Speaker 1: happens when that breakup happens, because, you know, at some
- 6:53Speaker 1: point you got to come off that pedestal.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:56Speaker 2: People love to bring people down.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, everybody gets knocked off the pedestal at
- 7:01Speaker 3: some point, and it's not even a big fall for
- 7:04Speaker 3: Travis or Taylor. They're having a ball. The world or
- 7:08Speaker 3: the country is behind it. They think it's great. But
- 7:11Speaker 3: listen to me. Ask yourself, did Taylor Swift watch football
- 7:17Speaker 3: last year when two teams with the record of 2-11
- 7:20Speaker 3: played against each other? No, she didn't. She's not a
- 7:23Speaker 3: football fan. She's a KC fan because... She's with Travis Kelsey,
- 7:29Speaker 3: and it's a very– look, she linked up with the
- 7:33Speaker 3: right guy at the right time. But I don't think
- 7:37Speaker 3: it's going to go past spring. I don't think so.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Okay, all right. Well, that's very interesting.
- 7:42Speaker 3: I got my girlfriend saying, I mean, women right now
- 7:45Speaker 3: are acting like Taylor Swift is an athlete. I don't
- 7:48Speaker 3: even know what to say. I'm like, what do you
- 7:50Speaker 3: mean she's an athlete? Oh, you know what? So is
- 7:54Speaker 3: Fred Astaire an athlete? Was Ginger Rogers an athlete? Taylor
- 7:58Speaker 3: Swift is just a chick who knows exactly what to
- 8:01Speaker 3: do when it comes to marketability. She's perfect at it.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Well, I have noticed that fans have taken a little
- 8:09Speaker 1: bit of a turn as of this morning, considering last
- 8:12Speaker 1: night people watched her do this new handshake with Brittany Mahomes.
- 8:17Speaker 2: People didn't necessarily love it.
- 8:19Speaker 1: They also didn't love that she was in the box
- 8:21Speaker 1: with Patrick Mahomes' brother, Jackson, who has been charged with
- 8:27Speaker 1: three counts of aggravated sexual battery. So the Swifties were
- 8:31Speaker 1: very worried about that. So I see that people are
- 8:34Speaker 1: starting to worry and say some negative things about the
- 8:37Speaker 1: whole thing.
- 8:40Speaker 2: All right, so let's move on.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Well, they are, but the people are... Go ahead. No,
- 8:45Speaker 3: I'm just saying the people who watch are very behind
- 8:49Speaker 3: people like me. We know ahead of time what's going
- 8:51Speaker 3: to happen. They're chanting now, but there's a problem with
- 8:56Speaker 3: Taylor and Travis. It's not going to work past spring.
- 8:59Speaker 3: It's just great marketability. Good for her. Good for him.
- 9:03Speaker 3: He's also Mr. Pfizer and Mr. Bud Light. Excuse me.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Those are two of the hottest topics in the world.
- 9:11Speaker 3: To be Mr. Pfizer and Mr. Bud Light? No. Many, many,
- 9:16Speaker 3: many men are not happy with his decision to do that. Okay.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Very interesting.
- 9:21Speaker 3: All right.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Let's move on to the fact that this month there
- 9:23Speaker 1: are four big memoirs that are out. Julia Fox, she's
- 9:29Speaker 1: having a great week. She made the bestseller list and
- 9:33Speaker 1: she's been up on stage with Madonna. I think it's
- 9:36Speaker 1: interesting that she claims that she wrote this book herself.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I feel like everyone is claiming these days that they
- 9:41Speaker 1: do not have a ghostwriter. Are you going to be
- 9:44Speaker 1: buying Julia's book?
- 9:48Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, not any of them wrote their
- 9:51Speaker 3: own book. Okay, I was with Paris Hilton online at
- 9:55Speaker 3: a coffee shop many years ago when somebody tapped her
- 9:58Speaker 3: on the shoulder and she had no idea. idea who
- 10:00Speaker 3: the person was. And the girl said, Paris, I wrote
- 10:03Speaker 3: your book. This is what goes on. They don't know
- 10:06Speaker 3: who the fuck is writing that book. They don't know.
- 10:09Speaker 3: John Stamos, I love. Good for him, but he's got
- 10:12Speaker 3: to put something delicious in there about being abused as
- 10:15Speaker 3: a kid. Everybody's going on this angle. Julian Fox is nuts.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I know people who work with her at the sex store,
- 10:24Speaker 3: the dungeon in Chelsea, Manhattan, okay? Do you want to
- 10:29Speaker 3: hear this, Rachel?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah, let's hear the inside scoop.
- 10:35Speaker 3: All right, Julia Fox was, you know, taking care of
- 10:40Speaker 3: men every which way you can for years. And the
- 10:45Speaker 3: people who worked with her at the dungeon didn't like
- 10:47Speaker 3: what she was doing because she took clients away from
- 10:50Speaker 3: the business. And as a result, I have a picture
- 10:53Speaker 3: of her red Louboutin shoes with all their cigarette butts
- 10:57Speaker 3: put down in it. The girl I know is named Poison.
- 11:00Speaker 3: She's worked there for years. And Julia Fox was, you know,
- 11:06Speaker 3: she was sex for hire. And now she's being, I mean,
- 11:10Speaker 3: people act like Julia Fox is the greatest thing. She's nothing.
- 11:16Speaker 3: She was banging guys in a dungeon. I mean, why
- 11:20Speaker 3: are we making her a star? She's absolutely nothing.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Well, I will say I loved her in that movie
- 11:26Speaker 1: she was in with Adam Sandler. I thought she was
- 11:28Speaker 1: brilliantly cast in there. She looked beautiful. She was, you know,
- 11:33Speaker 1: good in that movie. That movie was like a total
- 11:35Speaker 1: shocker because it seemed to be cast so oddly for
- 11:38Speaker 1: the subject matter.
- 11:40Speaker 2: What was it called? Uncut Gems or something.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Uncut Gems. Yeah, it was a good movie. Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 2: And she was like the breakout star there and people
- 11:47Speaker 2: hadn't heard of her.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I think what makes the book so interesting is that
- 11:51Speaker 1: she admits to being a dominatrix. She admits all these
- 11:54Speaker 1: sexual things and people are like, oh, wow, you've gone
- 11:58Speaker 1: from that to being as famous as dating Kanye West.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Now people forget, I think they were together, she admits
- 12:04Speaker 1: for like a month or less. It wasn't like dating, right?
- 12:07Speaker 1: So I think.
- 12:08Speaker 4: She's got- The car is beautiful. Where did you end
- 12:11Speaker 4: up going for it?
- 12:12Speaker 5: This exclusive place that Donna's connections with? they have more
- 12:16Speaker 5: cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 12:18Speaker 4: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 12:20Speaker 6: It's Dunaidial.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Where?
- 12:24Speaker 6: Dunaidial. There's an accent on the E.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Lift?
- 12:31Speaker 4: Please. You going past Kimmage?
- 12:33Speaker 5: Oh, Kimmage.
- 12:34Speaker 3: No.
- 12:35Speaker 6: Dundale Cars.
- 12:36Speaker 7: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 12:39Speaker 2: A lot of newfound fame because of that.
- 12:41Speaker 1: She wears a lot of interesting clothes that people say
- 12:45Speaker 1: is high fashion.
- 12:46Speaker 2: You know, I don't know.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I don't it's not my thing, so I don't get it.
- 12:49Speaker 2: But people apparently love her.
- 12:52Speaker 3: But here's the point. Look, good for her. She was
- 12:55Speaker 3: in a movie. She had a couple of scenes in
- 12:57Speaker 3: Uncut Gems. She was fine. I'm not going to call
- 13:00Speaker 3: her a breakout star. Adam Sandler was the breakout star
- 13:04Speaker 3: of Uncut Gems. No one knew he could be that
- 13:06Speaker 3: perfect at drama. Julia Fox was like an also-ran. Look,
- 13:12Speaker 3: you know, she has a life. She has a story.
- 13:14Speaker 3: She come from the sex dungeon. Now she's very popular
- 13:19Speaker 3: among people who read gossip columns. But I don't know.
- 13:23Speaker 3: What does it take to be famous now? What is
- 13:26Speaker 3: she bringing us? What is the product?
- 13:29Speaker 2: Well, that's a good point.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I mean, I think in this day and age, it's
- 13:33Speaker 1: very easy to be famous for a number of different things.
- 13:37Speaker 1: It's not like when we were younger where you had
- 13:38Speaker 1: to have experience and a resume and a reel. And,
- 13:43Speaker 1: you know, it was hard to be famous back then.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Okay, let's get to Britney's.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Book, which is, you know, every time I turn on
- 13:53Speaker 1: TMZ or look at the news, the top story is
- 13:56Speaker 1: a new quote unquote bombshell from Britney's book the woman
- 14:00Speaker 1: in me i think the biggest bombshell of this whole
- 14:02Speaker 1: book is that she claimed she wrote that herself when
- 14:06Speaker 1: she's incapable of doing any press for the book herself
- 14:09Speaker 1: i mean she did an exclusive with people magazine they
- 14:12Speaker 1: said that it was actually only done on email the
- 14:16Speaker 1: picture on the cover of the book clearly isn't recent
- 14:19Speaker 1: i think it's very odd don't you no i think.
- 14:24Speaker 3: I think everything about Britney is odd. And I've been
- 14:27Speaker 3: on top of this story for years. And I said,
- 14:29Speaker 3: this is going to be a story people talk about
- 14:33Speaker 3: 100 years from now. This is Judy Garland times 100.
- 14:38Speaker 3: What happened to Britney Spears is awful. But what we
- 14:41Speaker 3: found out is, as much as we wanted her out
- 14:45Speaker 3: of the conservatorship, we now know she needed to be
- 14:48Speaker 3: in it. I mean, really, her father, her mother, however
- 14:52Speaker 3: they might have robbed her, etc. This girl needs to
- 14:57Speaker 3: have people around her every day. She, look, she has
- 15:01Speaker 3: no friends. Have you ever seen the video with her
- 15:04Speaker 3: and a girlfriend? Have you ever seen somebody show up
- 15:07Speaker 3: at her house and just chill? No. She's a very
- 15:11Speaker 3: lonely girl. And listen, what they say about the devil's idol,
- 15:18Speaker 3: when you're not... doing anything, it's the worst thing. The
- 15:21Speaker 3: devil's going to get you. Britney Spears is in desperate times. Desperate.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and it does seem so odd that she wouldn't
- 15:29Speaker 1: have friends. I mean, so many people want to be
- 15:31Speaker 1: her friend, right?
- 15:33Speaker 2: So it seems.
- 15:34Speaker 3: No, I don't agree.
- 15:35Speaker 2: You don't agree?
- 15:37Speaker 3: Why would you want to... No, why would you want
- 15:39Speaker 3: a friend like Britney Spears? She's fucking nuts. You don't
- 15:41Speaker 3: need that. She's crazy.
- 15:44Speaker 1: You want to maybe take care of her and help
- 15:45Speaker 1: her out, but to be her friend?
- 15:48Speaker 3: What, you want to drop off.
- 15:50Speaker 1: No, I'm saying I think it would make more sense for,
- 15:53Speaker 1: I want to go into her house and be like, Brittany,
- 15:55Speaker 1: with all this money, can't you get a good set
- 15:57Speaker 1: of extensions? Can't we get some makeup that isn't running
- 16:01Speaker 1: down your face?
- 16:02Speaker 2: Why are you twirling all over the place?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Why can't you get a better pair of shoes than
- 16:06Speaker 1: the sensible brown shoes? You know, I have those questions
- 16:09Speaker 1: for her and I'd love to be your friend because
- 16:10Speaker 1: I'd be like, get.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Out of this scary spinning and the knives and what
- 16:15Speaker 2: are you doing? Who are you dating? Why are you
- 16:17Speaker 2: dating the help?
- 16:20Speaker 3: But I know, Rachel, you're right. She has nobody. You're
- 16:28Speaker 3: somebody that doesn't even know her and you're trying to
- 16:30Speaker 3: offer her advice. She has people that she claims are
- 16:34Speaker 3: her friends who never show up. And it's very sad. Yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 3: I've seen the extensions that are too long and too
- 16:43Speaker 3: old and the eye makeup that's not changed and the clothes.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Britney Spears is stuck in 2004. That's what she wears.
- 16:51Speaker 3: That's how she acts. She has two teenage children and
- 16:55Speaker 3: you never know it. It's horrifying what's happened to her.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it really is. It's a shame. It's upsetting. Do
- 17:02Speaker 2: you believe a lot of the things that she came
- 17:04Speaker 2: out with in this book?
- 17:08Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I believe the abortion story with Justin Timberlake,
- 17:12Speaker 3: to me, that's not a big revelation. People have sex
- 17:16Speaker 3: and get pregnant. I get it. I've been there myself.
- 17:19Speaker 3: I don't even, I mean, is that the biggest revelation
- 17:25Speaker 3: that Justin said get an abortion? Is that the biggest story?
- 17:29Speaker 3: I know how these things go. They excerpt the book
- 17:32Speaker 3: for two or three weeks before it comes out. What's
- 17:36Speaker 3: the next big story? That Justin said, get an abortion.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Is that it? Is that it? Well, I think that's it.
- 17:43Speaker 1: This episode is brought to you by Kitsch. I love
- 17:46Speaker 1: beauty products. So does my daughter. Sometimes I literally have
- 17:49Speaker 1: to hide them so she doesn't sneak in and steal them.
- 17:51Speaker 1: We're obsessed with anything that is easy to use, has
- 17:54Speaker 1: great results and saves us money. And that's where Kitsch
- 17:57Speaker 1: comes in. Kitsch is a game changer in the world
- 17:59Speaker 1: of beauty and hair products. Kitsch is a female-founded company
- 18:02Speaker 1: that started in 2010, and now they are carried in
- 18:05Speaker 1: over 20,000 retail locations. They believe everyone deserves a little indulgence,
- 18:09Speaker 1: no matter your budget, your skin type, or your hair type.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I change my hair up constantly, which makes it hard
- 18:15Speaker 1: to keep healthy, but Kitsch's heatless satin curling rollers help
- 18:19Speaker 1: save your hair from heat damage. I know you've probably
- 18:21Speaker 1: seen the Kitsch satin pillowcase cap and eye mask line,
- 18:25Speaker 1: which are great while you sleep. And also, I don't
- 18:28Speaker 1: know if you've seen the Barbie by Kitsch collection. They
- 18:30Speaker 1: have those satin pillowcases in the iconic Barbie pink.
- 18:33Speaker 2: They're adorable. I actually have two. I love them.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Also, another thing that I personally love is the rice
- 18:39Speaker 1: water shampoo bars. It actually improves my overall hair growth
- 18:43Speaker 1: and fullness. It strengthens it. It smooths out the frizz.
- 18:47Speaker 1: It keeps the moisture levels balanced. I was really skeptical
- 18:51Speaker 1: about changing up using shampoo and conditioner and using an
- 18:54Speaker 1: actual bar. I didn't even know how it would work.
- 18:57Speaker 1: But I will tell you that after the first use,
- 18:59Speaker 1: my hair looked and felt great. And I've actually had
- 19:01Speaker 1: friends of mine who've used the coupon come up to
- 19:05Speaker 1: me and say they are never going back and they
- 19:07Speaker 1: are constantly going to be getting the shampoo bars because
- 19:10Speaker 1: it's changed their hair. Right now, Kitsch is offering you
- 19:12Speaker 1: 30% off your entire order at mykitsch.com slash understood.
- 19:18Speaker 2: That's right. It's 30% off anything and everything at mykitsch.com
- 19:25Speaker 2: slash understood. One more time, it's mykitsch.com slash understood for
- 19:29Speaker 2: 30% off your order. Enjoy.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I mean, I think the other ones, you know, she
- 19:35Speaker 1: obviously dropped some names. I think the cheating was a
- 19:37Speaker 1: little bit, you know, in there to... Have us say, oh,
- 19:41Speaker 1: my God.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Wow.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I think the Colin Farrell fling where she said they
- 19:46Speaker 1: had like rough sex for two weeks.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I thought that was sort of interesting.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Right. I know. Listen, I hung out with Colin during
- 19:55Speaker 3: that time and he absolutely told me, so did Ben Affleck.
- 20:00Speaker 3: They absolutely both told me what they were doing with Brittany.
- 20:03Speaker 3: They were having a ball with her. Okay? Like every
- 20:06Speaker 3: room in the house kind of situation. So, here. Britney
- 20:12Speaker 3: was having a ball. She was wildly famous. And if
- 20:16Speaker 3: Justin Timberlake stepped out, so did she. I mean, they
- 20:20Speaker 3: were kids. They weren't even 21 yet.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I mean, I'm curious.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I'm curious if back then, I wish these guys would talk,
- 20:27Speaker 1: shed a little light on it and say back then, yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 1: she was, you know, free with her body and we
- 20:32Speaker 1: had a lot of great sex, but she was normal
- 20:35Speaker 1: and we could have a conversation.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I mean, I want to know if she was just crazy.
- 20:38Speaker 3: I don't I think she was just crazy Rachel these
- 20:43Speaker 3: guys are not going to talk I mean men know
- 20:46Speaker 3: I'm the guy that talks about shit but men know
- 20:50Speaker 3: don't talk about a celebrity who had sex with it's
- 20:52Speaker 3: not good you don't look good nothing good comes of
- 20:55Speaker 3: it so Ben or Colin or anybody else is never
- 20:59Speaker 3: going to say yeah we had a great time we
- 21:01Speaker 3: were screwing here and there but Brittany is to me
- 21:07Speaker 3: it's the saddest story in in celebrity right now. I
- 21:12Speaker 3: don't know of a sadder situation than her. I mean,
- 21:16Speaker 3: I think that she's going to die in that house
- 21:19Speaker 3: or hurt somebody in that house. I think police need
- 21:24Speaker 3: to go there and clean her out of there and
- 21:26Speaker 3: put her someplace in a facility. This is so sad.
- 21:30Speaker 3: I mean, playing with knives at three o'clock in the morning. What?
- 21:34Speaker 3: Are you kidding me? She's gone. She's lost it. Right.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Well, I think there's a lot of red flags now,
- 21:39Speaker 1: even more so for the fact that the book came
- 21:42Speaker 1: out and she can't do any in-person or even over
- 21:45Speaker 1: the phone interviews. I think that doesn't make sense. And
- 21:48Speaker 1: I thought it was so bizarre to not get a
- 21:50Speaker 1: real photo on the cover of her book.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I mean, that's like not even heard of.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I know. I know. Listen. You know what? It's funny.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Like I said, Britney is stalled in a certain era
- 22:05Speaker 3: where her life was the best. That picture that's on
- 22:08Speaker 3: the book represents a period in her life when she
- 22:11Speaker 3: was the best. It harkens back to what I said
- 22:15Speaker 3: to you last time we spoke about certain celebrities and
- 22:19Speaker 3: what they'll do. And like Jamie Foxx, all right? Jamie
- 22:25Speaker 3: Foxx could have held his phone up and said, I'm fine.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I'm in the hospital bed, but I'm fine. He never
- 22:31Speaker 3: did it. So now we're just supposed to believe this
- 22:33Speaker 3: fable that he was sick for four months and got better.
- 22:38Speaker 3: They don't tell the truth. Britney's not telling the truth.
- 22:41Speaker 3: And it's just a sad state of affairs.
- 22:45Speaker 2: It is sad.
- 22:46Speaker 1: And I'm very curious how it'll play out because it's
- 22:48Speaker 1: clearly not getting any better. So, all right, let's move
- 22:51Speaker 1: on to the next book. Jada Pinkett, her biggest revelation.
- 22:55Speaker 1: It's called Worthy for people that are interested that she
- 22:58Speaker 1: was separate. She's been separated for seven years. She continues
- 23:02Speaker 1: to humiliate Will Smith, in my opinion, over and over.
- 23:06Speaker 2: That doesn't end.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And then she talks a lot about Tupac and her
- 23:09Speaker 1: relationship with Tupac and how in love he was with her.
- 23:14Speaker 2: So are you going to get this book?
- 23:18Speaker 3: No. If I get that book, I'll make sure I'll
- 23:22Speaker 3: put it on the bottom of my birdcage. No, I'm
- 23:25Speaker 3: not going to get that book. Look, I knew Tupac
- 23:29Speaker 3: very well. I hung out with him. For years, I
- 23:32Speaker 3: was in the hospital when he got shot the first
- 23:34Speaker 3: time with his mother and Mickey Rourke. Tupac never speak
- 23:38Speaker 3: or spoke about Jada Pinkett like this. Jada Pinkett is
- 23:42Speaker 3: using a dead man's story to paint her own portrait,
- 23:48Speaker 3: which she's done to Will Smith.
- 23:50Speaker 4: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 23:53Speaker 4: for it?
- 23:53Speaker 5: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. they have
- 23:56Speaker 5: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 23:59Speaker 4: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 24:01Speaker 6: It's Dune-A-D-L.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Where?
- 24:05Speaker 5: Dune-A-D-L.
- 24:06Speaker 6: There's an accent on the E.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 24:09Speaker 6: Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 24:11Speaker 5: Lift?
- 24:12Speaker 3: Please.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Are you going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage.
- 24:15Speaker 3: No.
- 24:16Speaker 6: Dundale Cars.
- 24:17Speaker 7: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Is so embarrassing. And Will Smith needs to just walk
- 24:28Speaker 3: away from it and look at it. It's like it's
- 24:30Speaker 3: an out-of-body experience. Will Smith, she's destroying you, bro. You
- 24:35Speaker 3: are the Black Tom Cruise, and she's just taking you apart.
- 24:39Speaker 3: And I'll say something else. She was supposedly separated for
- 24:43Speaker 3: seven years with Will? Okay. Well, then when Chris Rock
- 24:47Speaker 3: asked her to go out, She said, no, me and
- 24:50Speaker 3: Will are, it's a rumor, we're together. That meant she
- 24:53Speaker 3: lied about seven years being, you know, apart. And that
- 24:59Speaker 3: night when he smacked Chris Rock, it stems from that
- 25:02Speaker 3: time because Jada told Will, Chris Rock asked me out,
- 25:08Speaker 3: and he couldn't process it. He couldn't take it. It's
- 25:11Speaker 3: somewhere deep inside his body. But she's a real nasty girl.
- 25:16Speaker 3: And I forgot, I told your producer. I said, in 2000,
- 25:20Speaker 3: I'm hanging out with Al B. Shore, the R &
- 25:23Speaker 3: B singer, right?
- 25:25Speaker 2: I love him.
- 25:26Speaker 3: And Al B. goes, he's the best. Al B. goes, hey,
- 25:30Speaker 3: you want to go see Jada and Will uptown at
- 25:32Speaker 3: a hotel? I go, what for? He goes, it's a
- 25:35Speaker 3: sex party. I said, what? Is it the sex party?
- 25:39Speaker 3: I said, I don't do that, bro. He said, just
- 25:41Speaker 3: get a girlfriend and come uptown. I go, no, that's
- 25:44Speaker 3: not my thing. So he called a friend of mine.
- 25:46Speaker 3: My friend went with his girlfriend and gave me blow
- 25:50Speaker 3: for blow about Will and Jada and the sex parties
- 25:52Speaker 3: they throw.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Wait, time out, time out.
- 25:56Speaker 1: So now you need to give me- You need to
- 25:59Speaker 1: give me the blow-by-blow about the sex party.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I don't even know what that means. Tell me everything.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Okay. Here's the thing. Will and Jada have been swinging
- 26:09Speaker 3: for many years. And when I was with Albie in
- 26:15Speaker 3: 2000 or so, he mentioned, you want to go uptown?
- 26:19Speaker 3: They're here. And have some fun. And that's just not
- 26:23Speaker 3: my scene. I said, no, it's not my thing, buddy.
- 26:26Speaker 3: But he called a buddy of mine who went with
- 26:28Speaker 3: his girlfriend and gave me the blow-by-blow of... Well, I
- 26:35Speaker 3: say blow-by-blow, pardon the pun, but really, like, they have
- 26:40Speaker 3: fun with other people. They've done it for years. This
- 26:44Speaker 3: is a partnership. It's Bill and Hillary. It's Donald and Melania.
- 26:49Speaker 3: It's like so many things out there we see. It's not...
- 26:54Speaker 3: It's love, don't get me wrong. But it's not the
- 26:56Speaker 3: love you and I have for our partners. It's a
- 26:58Speaker 3: different thing.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Right, it's like companionship or something. A teammate in whatever
- 27:04Speaker 1: thing that is really going on in your life, they
- 27:06Speaker 1: are facilitating that.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, there's no prenup. I mean, they never
- 27:09Speaker 3: did a prenup. So if you're Will Smith, do you
- 27:12Speaker 3: leave with no prenup? That's a lot of dough, man.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Or you just hang out and say, oh, she's the best,
- 27:19Speaker 3: I love her. I mean, that's a lot of millions
- 27:22Speaker 3: of dollars on the table. Right, right, right.
- 27:25Speaker 2: All right, so let's go back to Tupac for a second.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Just recently, they made an arrest on someone who they
- 27:32Speaker 1: say is the real killer of Tupac. Do you believe
- 27:35Speaker 1: that it is an accurate arrest that was made?
- 27:38Speaker 3: No, no, it's not accurate. GPD was the shot caller,
- 27:42Speaker 3: which means in the vernacular of the street, he was
- 27:46Speaker 3: the guy who put the hit out. But here's what
- 27:50Speaker 3: you have to know. Reggie Wright was a security guard
- 27:54Speaker 3: for Death Row Records. Reggie Wright was also banging Suge
- 27:58Speaker 3: Knight's wife. They were going to take over Death Row.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Reggie and Suge's wife were going to take over Death Row.
- 28:08Speaker 3: So they wanted Tupac gone and Suge gone. The shooters
- 28:14Speaker 3: in the car that night were Danny and Malcolm Patton
- 28:18Speaker 3: and also a kid named Little Half Dead. They are
- 28:22Speaker 3: the shooters, not Keith E.D. So Sugar's made reference to it.
- 28:28Speaker 3: I'm telling you now, I've known this for years. I
- 28:31Speaker 3: said this on my podcast six years ago. The shooters
- 28:34Speaker 3: are Danny and Malcolm Patton.
- 28:37Speaker 2: And are these guys still alive?
- 28:39Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, a little after, no, but Danny and Malcolm
- 28:42Speaker 3: are still alive. But Keith E.D. was the guy who
- 28:45Speaker 3: called the shot. Like, for instance, you know Sam with
- 28:48Speaker 3: the Bull Gravano, right? Yes. Okay.
- 28:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 3: So Sammy didn't kill 19 people, but he was involved
- 28:54Speaker 3: in 19 hits. That meant that sometimes he made the call.
- 28:59Speaker 3: This guy's got to go. Here's the crash cars we're
- 29:02Speaker 3: going to use. Here's the guns we're going to use.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Here's the place we're going to do it in. He
- 29:06Speaker 3: wasn't the murderer, but he made the call. That's where
- 29:09Speaker 3: Chief E.D. was that night for Danny and Malcolm and
- 29:13Speaker 3: Little Half Dead.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Do you think that he's going to turn on them?
- 29:19Speaker 1: now that he's been arrested and point the finger at them?
- 29:23Speaker 3: Well, no, because there's too many people in prison that
- 29:26Speaker 3: can really hurt him. They're not on the street. The
- 29:30Speaker 3: people that can really hurt him are in prison or
- 29:33Speaker 3: in other prisons. So no, he ain't going to, no,
- 29:36Speaker 3: he can't do that. He's going to do his time.
- 29:38Speaker 3: And you understand some of these people, they don't mind
- 29:42Speaker 3: living that way. They don't mind living that way in
- 29:45Speaker 3: a prison in that kind of climate with killers next
- 29:48Speaker 3: to them. It's harder for them to be out of
- 29:52Speaker 3: here than it is for them to be in there.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Some people, some people. All right.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Well, speaking of someone like that, let's talk about Suge Knight.
- 30:00Speaker 1: It was reported that he is now starting a podcast
- 30:03Speaker 1: from jail.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't know that. Really?
- 30:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Are you going to tune in?
- 30:09Speaker 3: You scooped me. Oh, yeah. I mean, look, Suge has
- 30:14Speaker 3: said some insane stuff. I mean, I was friends with
- 30:17Speaker 3: Eazy-E way back in the day. And Suge has said
- 30:22Speaker 3: that Eazy-E got hit with an AIDS needle. Remember that story?
- 30:27Speaker 3: Suge said that you want to get somebody, you hit
- 30:29Speaker 3: them with an AIDS needle with someone's tainted blood. And
- 30:34Speaker 3: a lot of people who know Eazy-E from NW are like,
- 30:37Speaker 3: wait a minute, the guy was coughing in November and
- 30:40Speaker 3: died two months later of full-blown AIDS. What is that about?
- 30:45Speaker 3: I'd be really curious to see what Suge says on
- 30:47Speaker 3: this podcast. I absolutely will listen because this guy knows
- 30:51Speaker 3: where everybody's buried. Everybody.
- 30:54Speaker 1: That's interesting. Do we know how long he's in jail for?
- 30:57Speaker 1: What was his latest crime that he's in jail for?
- 31:00Speaker 3: He ran over a guy at Tommy's Burgers. I mean,
- 31:03Speaker 3: I know a guy that was involved in that situation
- 31:06Speaker 3: named Bones. I know a lot of guys in that
- 31:10Speaker 3: part of town from the After Hours clubs and shit. Bones,
- 31:15Speaker 3: who's a real... Denzel Washington imitated Bones in Training Day.
- 31:20Speaker 3: That's how real Bones is. And he's like, You know,
- 31:24Speaker 3: there's no one meaner than Shug. He is the meanest
- 31:27Speaker 3: mother effort around. So I don't know how many years
- 31:33Speaker 3: he's got, but I don't think he's coming out soon.
- 31:35Speaker 3: But how do you start a podcast in jail? How
- 31:37Speaker 3: do you do that? I don't know.
- 31:39Speaker 2: We'll have to look into that.
- 31:39Speaker 1: But it was reported that he will be starting a
- 31:42Speaker 1: podcast from jail. So it's funny because people do talk
- 31:45Speaker 1: about him as being one of the meanest motherfuckers out there.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I will tell you a story. I don't know if
- 31:50Speaker 1: I've told you before, but when I ran... Tao when
- 31:54Speaker 1: I was the director of operations my job was to
- 31:58Speaker 1: take care of the high rollers and the celebrities and
- 32:01Speaker 1: one night Suge Knight came in to the club and
- 32:05Speaker 1: usually I handed the celebrities off to one of my
- 32:09Speaker 1: assistants or hosts is what they're called but with Suge
- 32:13Speaker 1: I took him upstairs and we went we got in
- 32:16Speaker 1: the elevator and it was a quite a small elevator
- 32:18Speaker 1: and it was just him and I And I don't
- 32:21Speaker 1: know how this happened, but the elevator got stuck. No,
- 32:25Speaker 1: it was kind of like red lights that.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Were in because it was an Asian theme.
- 32:29Speaker 1: So it was like a hot red. OK, so we're
- 32:34Speaker 1: in the elevator and it shakes and stops.
- 32:37Speaker 2: And I'm like, I look at him.
- 32:38Speaker 1: He was to my left. And he's like, what's going on?
- 32:42Speaker 1: And I'm like, I didn't plan this or anything. Like, relax,
- 32:46Speaker 1: let me figure it out. And I have a lot
- 32:48Speaker 1: of male energy in me, okay? My heart rate does
- 32:51Speaker 1: not go up for really anything. So I was pretty calm.
- 32:55Speaker 1: He became a big baby. He ended up minutes later
- 32:59Speaker 1: sliding down the wall, ended up in a fetal position
- 33:03Speaker 1: practically on the floor. And I remember because I had
- 33:07Speaker 1: my IFB in my ear and everybody. So I was
- 33:10Speaker 1: dating Jason Strauss at the time, the owner of the club.
- 33:13Speaker 1: And Jason somehow got on the radio. He took someone's earpiece.
- 33:16Speaker 1: And after people were telling me what to do and
- 33:18Speaker 1: that the fire department was coming, Jason gets on the
- 33:21Speaker 1: earpiece and says, do not bring up Tupac.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Whatever you do.
- 33:27Speaker 3: He said that?
- 33:28Speaker 2: Being a total idiot who only loved Hall & Oates. Oh,
- 33:33Speaker 2: my God.
- 33:34Speaker 1: And I would bother the DJ all the time about
- 33:36Speaker 1: playing those two bands or whatever.
- 33:39Speaker 2: He was like, do not bring it up.
- 33:42Speaker 1: And I thought to myself, this would be the greatest
- 33:44Speaker 1: time to ask him who killed Tupac.
- 33:46Speaker 2: But I did not.
- 33:47Speaker 3: My God. Wow, that is the best. Look, I thought
- 33:52Speaker 3: it was weird when I went. After I... reported on
- 33:56Speaker 3: OJ Simpson for many, many months and years and stuff.
- 33:59Speaker 3: I was in Miami and he was out of jail.
- 34:03Speaker 3: And I was in an elevator at the Mondrian. I
- 34:06Speaker 3: press up and suddenly this black hand puts his hand
- 34:11Speaker 3: for the door to open. And it's OJ. I'm like,
- 34:13Speaker 3: oh my God, it's OJ. I can't believe it. I
- 34:16Speaker 3: talked about him on Geraldo on Inside a Dick. I mean,
- 34:19Speaker 3: I did everything. And he walks in and he's a
- 34:22Speaker 3: big man. And I said, look, OJ, I just want
- 34:25Speaker 3: to say, man, you know, I did my job. He goes,
- 34:28Speaker 3: I know what you said, man. So we're cool. We're cool.
- 34:30Speaker 3: He shook my hand. I said, I'm getting out of
- 34:33Speaker 3: the 10th floor. Where are you going? He goes, I'm
- 34:35Speaker 3: going to the fucking penthouse, motherfucker. I couldn't, I'm like,
- 34:39Speaker 3: oh my God, this is the best moment. OJ's going
- 34:42Speaker 3: to the penthouse after he killed two people and I'm
- 34:45Speaker 3: getting out of the 10th floor. But yeah, those are,
- 34:48Speaker 3: Crazy circumstances with Suge. I had those with Tupac. I mean,
- 34:53Speaker 3: I was with Tupac when Mickey Ruff wanted to kill himself.
- 34:57Speaker 3: I'm home at night, three o'clock in the morning, my
- 34:59Speaker 3: phone rings and Tupac says, hey man, get up to
- 35:03Speaker 3: Frederick's uptown. Mickey is out of his mind. Fly uptown
- 35:06Speaker 3: to Frederick's was a Actually, Tupac said it's a faggy joint, whatever.
- 35:11Speaker 3: That's his words, not mine. And I go to, and
- 35:13Speaker 3: Mickey's ripping apart a bathroom. I said, what are you doing?
- 35:16Speaker 3: He says, page six wrote some shit about me. I'm
- 35:19Speaker 3: going to kill Richard Johnson, the editor. I said, come on,
- 35:23Speaker 3: let's get in the car. We're in a car. We're
- 35:25Speaker 3: driving down Fifth Avenue. Mickey says, stop the car to
- 35:29Speaker 3: his driver. He lays.
- 35:30Speaker 4: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 35:33Speaker 4: for it?
- 35:34Speaker 5: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. they have
- 35:36Speaker 5: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 35:39Speaker 4: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 35:41Speaker 6: It's Dunaidial.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Where?
- 35:45Speaker 2: Dunaidial.
- 35:46Speaker 6: There's an accent on the E.
- 35:49Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 35:50Speaker 6: Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Lift?
- 35:52Speaker 6: Please.
- 35:53Speaker 4: You going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage.
- 35:55Speaker 3: No.
- 35:57Speaker 6: Dundale Cars.
- 35:57Speaker 7: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Down in the middle of Fifth Avenue. He says, I
- 36:03Speaker 3: want to die tonight. I said, Mickey, what are you doing?
- 36:06Speaker 3: It's four o'clock. Mickey, Tupac says, fuck it, I want
- 36:09Speaker 3: to die too. So I go, well, I guess I
- 36:12Speaker 3: want to go out with you two guys. That'd be
- 36:13Speaker 3: a great obituary. So I lay down. No cars came
- 36:17Speaker 3: for five minutes. But, you know, that's just a crazy
- 36:22Speaker 3: incident with people that are bigger than, you know, they're like,
- 36:26Speaker 3: Shug is bigger than his personality could ever be. Tupac was...
- 36:30Speaker 3: They're just big people, man. And, you know, I love
- 36:34Speaker 3: that story on the elevator that should just collapse. Like,
- 36:37Speaker 3: that's great.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Well, and it was so great because I thought he
- 36:40Speaker 1: was the sweetest, nicest, you know, guy, you know, that
- 36:44Speaker 1: I had met in a long time.
- 36:45Speaker 2: But you girls don't.
- 36:46Speaker 3: You girls don't.
- 36:47Speaker 2: It was gentle.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Baby, you pretty girls don't get it. Why would a
- 36:52Speaker 3: man be nasty to you? Of course he's going to
- 36:55Speaker 3: be cool to you. He might kill the next three guys,
- 36:57Speaker 3: but to you he's going to be nice and Come on.
- 37:00Speaker 2: And that's kind of hot.
- 37:02Speaker 1: That's why people like rip from Yellowstone because he's always
- 37:05Speaker 1: ready to kill someone for you.
- 37:07Speaker 3: How great is Yellowstone? I love Yellowstone.
- 37:10Speaker 2: So good.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Love it.
- 37:12Speaker 2: So, well, that's really funny.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Maybe I'll try and contact Shug in prison and ask
- 37:16Speaker 1: him if he'll do my podcast or he'll have me
- 37:18Speaker 1: on his.
- 37:19Speaker 3: That'd be huge. Get him on. That'd be huge.
- 37:22Speaker 2: That would, that would be great. All right.
- 37:24Speaker 1: So let's, oh, wait, just on the topic of podcasts
- 37:26Speaker 1: for a second. Let's talk about, are you familiar with
- 37:29Speaker 1: Call Her Daddy?
- 37:30Speaker 2: Do you listen to that?
- 37:31Speaker 3: I've heard about it. I never listened to it, but
- 37:33Speaker 3: I know it was hugely successful. Yeah, I know.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Yeah, hugely successful.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I was just curious because it has a lot of
- 37:39Speaker 1: sort of Gen Z, millennial type of people, and it's exploded.
- 37:44Speaker 1: It's really become a place that people watch and listen
- 37:47Speaker 1: to this gossip. Well, another one that you might know
- 37:50Speaker 1: of more than is Dumas.
- 37:52Speaker 2: What do you think of the phenomenon of... of Dumois.
- 37:56Speaker 1: They basically wrote a book that's now being made into
- 37:59Speaker 1: a TV show and they started on the internet on
- 38:02Speaker 1: social media.
- 38:03Speaker 2: And here they are as reporters, sort of.
- 38:05Speaker 3: I mean, I know. Well, listen, I'm not going to
- 38:09Speaker 3: hate on anybody who gets that kind of fame and
- 38:12Speaker 3: takes it to where they're going. Good for them. But
- 38:15Speaker 3: I just remember what it was like to be alone
- 38:18Speaker 3: in a newsroom Maybe there were 15 or 20 gossip
- 38:23Speaker 3: columnists in the country. And we got the stuff we got.
- 38:28Speaker 3: We tracked down our sources and we got stories. And
- 38:33Speaker 3: you needed two people to be objective about a story.
- 38:37Speaker 3: That's all gone now. Now you've got... Places like a
- 38:42Speaker 3: page or an entity where anybody can call and say,
- 38:46Speaker 3: I saw so-and-so at this restaurant. He had his hand
- 38:48Speaker 3: on so-and-so's lap. And I think the marriage is in trouble.
- 38:52Speaker 3: And then they'll build on that story. And then 1,500
- 38:55Speaker 3: people will say what they think. And it becomes a story.
- 38:59Speaker 3: And is it even a story? I'm not going to
- 39:02Speaker 3: hate on them because they found the niche. And I'm
- 39:05Speaker 3: glad because gossip is my thing since 1989. So if
- 39:11Speaker 3: gossip blows up again, great. I'll stand to profit. But
- 39:15Speaker 3: I don't like the fact that you don't have to
- 39:17Speaker 3: be a real newspaper man or a journalist to get stories.
- 39:21Speaker 3: That kind of bugs me. You know, you need a
- 39:24Speaker 3: press pass, man. i you know can you get past
- 39:27Speaker 3: police line police uh police tape can you do that
- 39:30Speaker 3: no you can't so Well, you know.
- 39:33Speaker 1: That's such a good point that you bring up, though,
- 39:36Speaker 1: because I feel like, you know, people are really impressioned by,
- 39:41Speaker 1: impressed by someone who has a press pass that might
- 39:43Speaker 1: be from like Extra TV or Inside Edition. And those
- 39:47Speaker 1: aren't even really journalists.
- 39:49Speaker 3: That ain't shit.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Yeah, on a news show. And when I was younger,
- 39:53Speaker 1: you know, I wanted to go to journalism school. I
- 39:56Speaker 1: wanted to learn what made news. I wanted to figure
- 39:59Speaker 1: out the ins and outs of how it worked. And
- 40:02Speaker 1: no one does that anymore. Anyone can be a reporter
- 40:06Speaker 1: or a journalist because they just create, you know, a
- 40:09Speaker 1: TikTok page or whatever. And it is dangerous, but yeah,
- 40:12Speaker 1: it's crazy because I feel like someone with an education
- 40:14Speaker 1: who really follows the standards and the rules is, gets
- 40:17Speaker 1: kind of pushed aside because that's not the game anymore, right?
- 40:20Speaker 2: So it's like the game is to do it a
- 40:22Speaker 2: different way.
- 40:23Speaker 3: No, I appreciate you saying that because, you know, I
- 40:26Speaker 3: went to college. I got my journalism degree. I toughed
- 40:30Speaker 3: it out at Newsday in Long Island for six, seven years.
- 40:34Speaker 3: And then I got my shot in New York City
- 40:36Speaker 3: at the Daily News. And then I wrote for every
- 40:39Speaker 3: paper and magazine you can think of because I proved
- 40:43Speaker 3: my ability. I mean, I was in the street. I
- 40:45Speaker 3: was with these people. Most of these people now, I
- 40:48Speaker 3: don't even know who's behind Dumois. I'm sure I can
- 40:51Speaker 3: find their names out, but where are they?
- 40:53Speaker 1: I think it's still anonymous. I think that that's part
- 40:56Speaker 1: of the allure is that no one... knows right but
- 40:59Speaker 1: so much of this stuff is people regurgitating stories and
- 41:03Speaker 1: photos and bravo you know shows and that's how they've
- 41:07Speaker 1: become famous in their own right as like journalists because
- 41:10Speaker 1: they're just regurgitating stuff they're not breaking by the way.
- 41:13Speaker 3: No they're not no one's breaking stories that's why on
- 41:16Speaker 3: my show on fame is a bitch i break stories
- 41:20Speaker 3: and i use that in my uh on my patreon
- 41:23Speaker 3: page i don't give it to the free people i
- 41:25Speaker 3: i hint to them that i got a big story
- 41:28Speaker 3: but What bothers me is that, well, it's just not
- 41:32Speaker 3: going to change. It's gotten to be a tumbleweed that's
- 41:36Speaker 3: flowing and flowing and rolling downhill. We're not going to
- 41:39Speaker 3: change it. People want news. They want entertainment. And they
- 41:43Speaker 3: don't really care necessarily if it might be false or so.
- 41:47Speaker 3: They just want to consume stuff. And I like to
- 41:50Speaker 3: slow down and go, listen, I know that such and
- 41:53Speaker 3: such happened yesterday. But I need two days to figure
- 41:56Speaker 3: this shit out. I need two days to call my
- 41:59Speaker 3: sources and figure this shit out, then I'll give you
- 42:01Speaker 3: the right shit. I'm not going to bark off the
- 42:04Speaker 3: first minute it happens.
- 42:05Speaker 6: I'm not.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Except when I know that someone's full of shit, like
- 42:08Speaker 3: Jesse Smollett or whatever. I mean, there's stories you know
- 42:11Speaker 3: are bullshit. But otherwise, I'm like, give me a couple
- 42:13Speaker 3: of days. I'm going to get it for you. Just
- 42:15Speaker 3: give me two days.
- 42:16Speaker 2: That story with Jesse was so incredibly insane.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Yeah. Look, I was on Adam Carolla's show when that broke,
- 42:27Speaker 3: and Adam's girl read it, and I said, oh, that's bullshit.
- 42:32Speaker 3: He didn't do this. There's no black guy in Illinois
- 42:34Speaker 3: at 2 a.m. going to Subway and getting hung by
- 42:37Speaker 3: a noose. Adam's like, what do you mean? I go, Adam,
- 42:40Speaker 3: it's a lie. That's my intuition of 30 years doing this.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I just can tell it's a lie. Jamie Foxx was
- 42:48Speaker 3: a lie. Like, I don't know how to tell you
- 42:51Speaker 3: how to develop that, but I have it. And, you know,
- 42:54Speaker 3: it's up to, I mean, look, anybody can believe what
- 42:57Speaker 3: they want to believe in America, what they read, but
- 42:59Speaker 3: I see so many things that are such bullshit. Look,
- 43:02Speaker 3: if we go out, like yesterday, I'm looking at the paper.
- 43:05Speaker 3: I can't take it. What's the girl's name from Guys
- 43:08Speaker 3: on HBO? I can't stand her. The fat girl. Lena Dunham. Dunham. Okay,
- 43:14Speaker 3: I can't take it. Lena Dunham. She shows up, and some...
- 43:20Speaker 3: ghastly gown that looked like somebody's curtains for the dining
- 43:23Speaker 3: room and the newspaper is writing about how wonderful and
- 43:28Speaker 3: curvy and beautiful I'm like there's not a fucking man
- 43:32Speaker 3: alive who thinks that's beautiful and curvy she's a pig
- 43:37Speaker 3: she's a pig I'm sorry, Rachel, you can, you walk
- 43:41Speaker 3: out with a pair of drapes on you. People will say, oh,
- 43:45Speaker 3: that's Rachel. She looks good. Not Lena Dunham. Stop it.
- 43:48Speaker 3: I know you can't talk.
- 43:49Speaker 2: I mean, obviously they like her acting skills.
- 43:53Speaker 3: What has she done? Okay, she wrote, guys, great. Now, next.
- 43:57Speaker 3: What do we got next? Now she just complains about
- 44:00Speaker 3: what illnesses she has. And that's the new thing. Every
- 44:03Speaker 3: chick in Hollywood has an illness. Lyme disease, ADHD. I
- 44:08Speaker 3: got this. I got even old bowel syndrome. Did Rita
- 44:12Speaker 3: Hayworth say that shit? Didn't even Demi Moore say that shit?
- 44:17Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 44:18Speaker 2: No, you're right.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Okay, so let's, you know, it's funny that you're mentioning
- 44:22Speaker 1: what you're looking at in the papers. Recently, I've been
- 44:25Speaker 1: looking at what's permeating the news, right? And it's really,
- 44:28Speaker 1: for what's going on in the world, it's really basic bullshit.
- 44:31Speaker 2: But anyways, let's talk about it.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do it.
- 44:35Speaker 1: There's a couple stories of this late-in-life lesbianism going on,
- 44:40Speaker 1: from Kyle and Mauricio's saga.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Do you think that's real, that Kyle is now dating
- 44:48Speaker 1: this singer, Morgan Wade?
- 44:51Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah. No, I see the pictures. I look
- 44:55Speaker 3: at them together. I see the body language. She's definitely,
- 44:57Speaker 3: they're smashing clams. I think we can say that, right?
- 45:01Speaker 3: I mean, they're having some fun. I get pillow biting.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Good for her.
- 45:06Speaker 3: I mean, I feel, look, many years ago when I
- 45:09Speaker 3: was a reporter, what's his name? Oh, God, the actor,
- 45:15Speaker 3: his wife left him for Melissa Etheridge. Blue Diamond Phillips.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Oh, I forgot about that.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm like, I had this story. I'm like, wait,
- 45:24Speaker 3: your wife left you for a chick? It was like unprecedented.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Now it's all the time. I don't think Kyle Richards
- 45:32Speaker 3: knows what she really wants in life. I also think
- 45:35Speaker 3: that they all know they've got to keep the episodes
- 45:39Speaker 3: going and keep the interest going because if Kyle Richards
- 45:43Speaker 3: doesn't have the Housewives show, what is she? Why would
- 45:47Speaker 3: anybody tune into her and listen to her? Same thing
- 45:51Speaker 3: with the Kardashians. They need episodes.
- 45:57Speaker 1: It's interesting that you say that because Mauricio just started
- 46:00Speaker 1: with his own show. So he has his own, you know,
- 46:03Speaker 1: he's cannibal in the other way. And which, by the way,
- 46:06Speaker 1: wasn't a bad show. And so Kyle could be hers.
- 46:11Speaker 3: No, Kyle's definitely, there's an eclipse happening with Kyle for real.
- 46:15Speaker 3: It's like enough is enough. We've seen it many times.
- 46:18Speaker 3: All these housewives are, They tend to do, look at,
- 46:22Speaker 3: what's her name? Blonde, don't be tardy for the party.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Oh, Kim Zolciak?
- 46:27Speaker 3: Yeah, like these people go to jail. They're bankrupt. Really
- 46:33Speaker 3: bad things happen to them because they want to keep
- 46:35Speaker 3: up with the Joneses for so long. And I know
- 46:38Speaker 3: about those paychecks. I've gotten those paychecks from reality TV.
- 46:42Speaker 3: It's like, wait, I have to show up here for
- 46:44Speaker 3: six weeks and I get $ 110, 000? Yeah, let's do it.
- 46:49Speaker 3: And you realize that's not really earned money. It's just
- 46:53Speaker 3: they threw it at me. What do I need to
- 46:55Speaker 3: do to stay topical, to stay important, for people to
- 46:58Speaker 3: believe me? Kyle Richards and Mauricio, they're all the same people.
- 47:04Speaker 3: They don't know what they're doing, but they've got a
- 47:06Speaker 3: lot of money being thrown at them, but they're not
- 47:08Speaker 3: being their true selves.
- 47:11Speaker 4: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 47:14Speaker 4: for it?
- 47:15Speaker 5: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with? they have
- 47:17Speaker 5: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 47:20Speaker 4: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 47:22Speaker 6: It's Dune-A-D-L.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Where?
- 47:26Speaker 6: Dune-A-D-L. There's an accent on the E.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 47:31Speaker 6: Yes, I got it on Done Deal Cars.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Lift? Please.
- 47:33Speaker 4: Are you going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage.
- 47:36Speaker 3: No.
- 47:38Speaker 6: Done Deal Cars.
- 47:39Speaker 7: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 47:41Speaker 3: What he is it's reality tv nini leaks there's there's
- 47:45Speaker 3: so many names i could go down they're just not
- 47:48Speaker 3: being their true selves and that's i always say this
- 47:52Speaker 3: is it people are as sick as their secrets okay
- 47:56Speaker 3: those people have really deep secrets that we don't know
- 47:59Speaker 3: about but you see how sick they get because they
- 48:02Speaker 3: can't take not being in the face of the public
- 48:05Speaker 3: every day We don't want to see them anymore.
- 48:09Speaker 1: And it's very interesting what you're saying because a lot
- 48:11Speaker 1: of them don't have a real second job.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Mauricio does. He runs a very.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Financially stable real estate company. So he is someone without
- 48:22Speaker 1: the cameras being around. But all these women tend to
- 48:25Speaker 1: be floundering until they find a product that maybe they're
- 48:28Speaker 1: representing because they've been on the show.
- 48:31Speaker 2: What you're saying is so true.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Another one I think that has shocked people, I don't
- 48:34Speaker 1: know that people really followed Mauricio you know, the arc
- 48:37Speaker 1: of Sophia Bush.
- 48:37Speaker 2: But now she's back in the.
- 48:38Speaker 1: News because it seems that she just got a divorce,
- 48:42Speaker 1: as did Ashlyn Harris, a soccer player who I had
- 48:45Speaker 1: never heard of. But now they're in a relationship and
- 48:48Speaker 1: Ashlyn Harris's name is trending.
- 48:51Speaker 2: So, I mean, maybe this is a thing to become
- 48:53Speaker 2: a late in life lesbian. I haven't tried it.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Late in life lesbian is a great term. That's a great,
- 48:59Speaker 3: it's a great term. Late in life lesbian. Great. Yeah. L-I-L-L.
- 49:03Speaker 3: That's great. No, I don't even know who her girlfriend is.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I don't know Ashlyn, whatever the hell. I saw a
- 49:10Speaker 3: picture of them the other day and I made a decision.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Don't write about this. Don't talk about who cares about
- 49:16Speaker 3: Sophia Bush or this chick but yes everybody let me
- 49:20Speaker 3: ask you a question to be really honest remember when
- 49:23Speaker 3: you came on the scene I mean it's horrible to
- 49:27Speaker 3: be how it began because the towers came down and
- 49:31Speaker 3: your man was there and there's a picture of you
- 49:33Speaker 3: on the post or the news you were like bigger
- 49:35Speaker 3: than the city that day I remember it and everybody
- 49:38Speaker 3: said like Wow, this is the face of suffering. And
- 49:42Speaker 3: then you know what happens? They couldn't get enough of you.
- 49:45Speaker 3: And you felt it too. I guarantee you, you felt
- 49:49Speaker 3: like I've got to keep going with this. Not to
- 49:52Speaker 3: say you went and did what you did with Tiger
- 49:54Speaker 3: because you wanted to be famous, but there's something that
- 49:57Speaker 3: triggers it. Do you understand what I'm saying? A little bit?
- 50:01Speaker 2: I do.
- 50:02Speaker 1: And I've never thought of it that way. But yes,
- 50:04Speaker 1: when that picture came out, it was the biggest picture.
- 50:07Speaker 1: I mean, it's in the museum. It's in the museum. People, listen,
- 50:12Speaker 1: I will tell you, I got so many calls, letters, messages. um,
- 50:16Speaker 1: emails for years. I mean, people still contact me about it.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Someone wrote me a song about, again, if people are listening,
- 50:23Speaker 1: don't know what we're talking about. I lost my fiance
- 50:25Speaker 1: in September 11th. And he's talking about the photo is
- 50:27Speaker 1: a very famous photo that ran, um, in, on the
- 50:31Speaker 1: cover of the post and everywhere else.
- 50:33Speaker 2: I mean, it also went, it went viral.
- 50:35Speaker 1: And, um, The thing is, is that I do understand
- 50:39Speaker 1: what you're saying, that my story was the face of
- 50:43Speaker 1: my story and the story of 9-11 and.
- 50:46Speaker 2: It became something bigger.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:49Speaker 2: I mean, I do know what you mean. And people
- 50:50Speaker 2: want to interview you. People want to talk to you.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Now I can look back and say, you know, by
- 50:55Speaker 1: the way, it pissed off a lot of people because
- 50:57Speaker 1: they were like, who are you?
- 50:58Speaker 2: You're just a fiance. But I will say now.
- 51:02Speaker 1: I'm so thankful that that photo was taken because people
- 51:07Speaker 1: know Andy's name. Whether they love me, whatever, they know
- 51:11Speaker 1: about him.
- 51:13Speaker 3: You know what else, Rach? I know you're a woman
- 51:17Speaker 3: of many resources. You can do what you want to do, blah, blah, blah.
- 51:21Speaker 3: But Do you think you'd be here right now having
- 51:25Speaker 3: a podcast if all that horrible stuff had not happened
- 51:29Speaker 3: to you? No. I'm just posing the question. I don't know.
- 51:32Speaker 1: I agree with you 100%. That's why I'm in the place. Well,
- 51:36Speaker 1: that's why I'm in the place in my life. that
- 51:40Speaker 1: I'm good at being public with my thoughts, feelings, interviewing
- 51:44Speaker 1: people like you, and I even have the relationship with
- 51:46Speaker 1: someone like you. I have a name, for better or
- 51:50Speaker 1: for worse, that I can literally DM most people that
- 51:53Speaker 1: I can think of, and they will respond about coming
- 51:56Speaker 1: on to my podcast.
- 51:57Speaker 3: That's exactly what I'm talking about, because I had that...
- 52:02Speaker 3: for many years. I still can kind of do that
- 52:05Speaker 3: now and then. But yeah, it does something. It triggers
- 52:08Speaker 3: something in your body. Like, well, I can reach out
- 52:11Speaker 3: to anybody. I can talk to anybody right now. And
- 52:14Speaker 3: they'll return my call or my text. It's weird. And
- 52:18Speaker 3: I think that we, well, look, I'm glad Andy's name
- 52:22Speaker 3: is out there. I get chills even saying it. It
- 52:24Speaker 3: was the worst day in the world. I drove to
- 52:26Speaker 3: New York when that happened. I was, come on. I mean, horrible.
- 52:31Speaker 3: I can't imagine what you went through, but it got
- 52:35Speaker 3: you here where you can reach a lot of people.
- 52:39Speaker 3: And even if you're talking about gossip or whatever you're
- 52:41Speaker 3: talking about, it doesn't matter. Rachel, you could tell is
- 52:44Speaker 3: here now to tell us or just to introduce us
- 52:48Speaker 3: to anything that she wants to. And it's just sad,
- 52:53Speaker 3: but you probably wouldn't have done that. If that did
- 52:56Speaker 3: not happen, right?
- 52:57Speaker 2: Oh, you're right.
- 52:57Speaker 1: I would have been a housewife who was like following
- 53:01Speaker 1: Bravo or whatever. I would have been, no, but nobody
- 53:04Speaker 1: would have known my name and nobody would have said,
- 53:08Speaker 1: let me just hear what she has to say because
- 53:09Speaker 1: she's been through it. I mean, the reason why I
- 53:12Speaker 1: have a platform that I have is because I have
- 53:14Speaker 1: been through everything.
- 53:16Speaker 2: No one has helped me. My parents weren't, my father died.
- 53:19Speaker 1: So it wasn't, I didn't have a family that helped
- 53:21Speaker 1: me out of anything. I didn't have a husband or
- 53:23Speaker 1: a boyfriend that helped me out of anything. I survived
- 53:26Speaker 1: a lot of scandal, a lot of things that I did,
- 53:29Speaker 1: but also things that fate happened.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Yeah, they thrust upon you. The same thing applies to
- 53:35Speaker 3: me and not in the same manner with you. I
- 53:37Speaker 3: didn't go through. I mean, I lost my parents in
- 53:39Speaker 3: my 20s, divorced, lost a house, but I maintained my
- 53:44Speaker 3: job as a journalist and journalist. When I preach on
- 53:48Speaker 3: my podcast, and what people really get into is that, yeah,
- 53:53Speaker 3: there'll be gossip. I'll tell you stories. Don't worry about that.
- 53:56Speaker 3: But really, I've been through fucking hell, and I'm still here.
- 54:00Speaker 3: And I'll tell you about all that hell. I'll tell
- 54:02Speaker 3: you about working at Best Buy with my name on
- 54:05Speaker 3: my shirt, with Rocky Balboa on the TVs that I
- 54:10Speaker 3: was selling, a movie I was in. I mean, there's
- 54:14Speaker 3: so many driving a cab for 12 hours a day.
- 54:18Speaker 3: So people, they go, wow, he really has been through
- 54:22Speaker 3: the fucking mill. And so have you. No one knew
- 54:25Speaker 3: when you had that picture in the post what was
- 54:27Speaker 3: going to happen to you. It was like, all right,
- 54:30Speaker 3: it's yesterday's news. This girl lost her man. That's horrible.
- 54:33Speaker 3: But look what you did. Look what you built since
- 54:36Speaker 3: that day. And that has a lot to say about
- 54:40Speaker 3: your man. And a lot to say about fate and
- 54:43Speaker 3: a lot to say about you, that you kept fighting
- 54:46Speaker 3: to build something out of it. And that's what I've done.
- 54:49Speaker 3: You know, I have embarrassing stories, horrifying. But we're all
- 54:53Speaker 3: the same. We've all had our assholes out like in public.
- 54:58Speaker 3: We've all been like, oh, my God, you can't believe
- 55:00Speaker 3: what happened to me. You know, I think people really
- 55:03Speaker 3: like that.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Well, and that's what's so interesting about what you're saying,
- 55:07Speaker 1: because there are so many younger people on social media
- 55:11Speaker 1: right now talking with such authority about.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Something that they've never been through. We have been through it.
- 55:17Speaker 1: We have been up on top, hanging with the most famous,
- 55:20Speaker 1: being the most famous. We've been at the bottom, struggling
- 55:25Speaker 1: to figure out how you're going to. pay for the
- 55:27Speaker 1: cab or even get on the subway to go downtown
- 55:30Speaker 1: or whatever. It's like, I have been through both scenarios
- 55:34Speaker 1: and it's more embarrassing because people expect you to be
- 55:37Speaker 1: living a certain way.
- 55:38Speaker 2: And that is not how life goes. And you know what?
- 55:42Speaker 2: I wouldn't change anything.
- 55:44Speaker 3: Yeah. No, you can't listen back in 2010. I have
- 55:48Speaker 3: to move back to Long Island to live with my sister,
- 55:51Speaker 3: with my two kids, four and two. And I'm sleeping
- 55:55Speaker 3: in the fucking bed I slept in as a kid
- 55:57Speaker 3: with my two-year-old son. And I'm working a cab and
- 56:01Speaker 3: I'm going to Best Buy. And I was writing my
- 56:03Speaker 3: book at that time too. So that's what got me
- 56:06Speaker 3: out of there. But there were days where I'd go,
- 56:10Speaker 3: fucking last month, I was with Jack Nicholson at his
- 56:12Speaker 3: house having a ball. And now I kind of want
- 56:16Speaker 3: to throw myself into this car that's coming down the
- 56:19Speaker 3: highway and Not that I would do that. But those
- 56:22Speaker 3: are the extremes of life that a lot of people
- 56:25Speaker 3: don't ever have to deal with. But they like hearing
- 56:29Speaker 3: it from people like us who go, oh, I've been
- 56:31Speaker 3: up here, but I've been way down too, man. Like,
- 56:34Speaker 3: you know, Jillian Barbary, she's a, she was on, she's great, right? Jillian,
- 56:40Speaker 3: I was on a radio show for years, KABC, the
- 56:44Speaker 3: TV show with Steve and I forget the other girl's name. Dorothy.
- 56:48Speaker 3: And they were great. They were like, you had to
- 56:51Speaker 3: watch them every morning in LA. The morning show, KTLA.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Jillian gets cancer. I mean, everything changes. Divorce, cancer. It's
- 57:01Speaker 3: been five years of her just going through the gamut.
- 57:05Speaker 3: You remind me of her. Going through the gamut of bullshit, operations, surgeries.
- 57:10Speaker 3: And I watched her last night on TikTok when I said, Jillian,
- 57:13Speaker 3: I can't believe what you've gone through. I'm so sorry.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Into and now how is she by the way oh
- 57:23Speaker 2: she beat.
- 57:24Speaker 3: The cancer but you know she's gone through so many
- 57:27Speaker 3: different surgeries and shit that's wrong and they got to
- 57:31Speaker 3: fix this and fix that it was breast cancer she
- 57:33Speaker 3: got a breast removed she got i mean just horrifying
- 57:37Speaker 3: four years of horror right lives in an apartment now
- 57:41Speaker 3: she had a big house in encino that i used
- 57:43Speaker 3: to go to I mean, life is just fucking hard, man.
- 57:47Speaker 3: So the survivors, I would hope that people listen to
- 57:51Speaker 3: survivors like us. You know, it's easy to have a
- 57:56Speaker 3: show when you're famous and everything's fucking cool. But no, no.
- 57:59Speaker 3: Come see me when shit was bad and then we'll
- 58:01Speaker 3: talk about some good times.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Right, right, right, right.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Well, I had some other questions, but now I feel
- 58:06Speaker 1: like they're so stupid compared to what.
- 58:08Speaker 2: We're talking about.
- 58:09Speaker 3: No, say it.
- 58:10Speaker 1: No, but it's true, because people should be interviewing us
- 58:13Speaker 1: about our thoughts about it.
- 58:14Speaker 3: Yeah, right? Don't you feel that way? I know.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Yeah, totally.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I do, too. I do, too.
- 58:18Speaker 1: All right, a couple more things that people are talking about.
- 58:22Speaker 2: True crime has a new sort of tone.
- 58:24Speaker 3: By the way, by the way, by the way, I
- 58:26Speaker 3: don't look good at all. Last show, my throat was bad.
- 58:29Speaker 3: Now my face is too fat. I just want you
- 58:33Speaker 3: to know that I know that.
- 58:35Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 58:35Speaker 1: I want to clarify for people who are listening that
- 58:38Speaker 1: AJ is out of his mind.
- 58:39Speaker 2: He actually looks quite handsome.
- 58:41Speaker 3: Oh, babe, no, no. My girlfriend's leaving me this week.
- 58:45Speaker 3: She's left me.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Like, broke up with you, or she's going on a trip?
- 58:50Speaker 3: No, I wish it was a trip. No, no. She
- 58:52Speaker 3: doesn't like how negative I am. I approach things negatively
- 58:57Speaker 3: when I write a story or do a show. I'm
- 58:59Speaker 3: always like, who the fuck is that guy? I always
- 59:02Speaker 3: have an angle on, you know, I don't just approach
- 59:05Speaker 3: things with big bright eyes, I always go, that guy's.
- 59:09Speaker 2: Full of shit, But that's you, so what?
- 59:12Speaker 3: She don't like that. She don't like it.
- 59:15Speaker 2: How long have you been with her?
- 59:15Speaker 3: I left my wife for three years. And it's not
- 59:21Speaker 3: good right now. She don't want me. She's like, you're
- 59:25Speaker 3: too negative. I can't take it.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I'm so sorry to hear that, but
- 59:29Speaker 2: I will say.
- 59:30Speaker 1: That being with you, you know who you are and
- 59:33Speaker 1: I feel like she should love you for that. And
- 59:35Speaker 1: as long as you're not negative with her.
- 59:37Speaker 3: She loves, she loves me. She loves me. But you know,
- 59:39Speaker 3: it's just, um.
- 59:41Speaker 2: That's difficult.
- 59:42Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 59:43Speaker 2: You look really good. You're not going to have a
- 59:44Speaker 2: hard time.
- 59:46Speaker 3: Stop it. All right. Ask your questions.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Let's get into true crimes. Next target, Ruby Frank. Were
- 59:51Speaker 1: you following this story? It was the mom fluencer who
- 59:54Speaker 1: came to fame as a Mormon mother. She had something
- 59:57Speaker 1: called eight passengers. Now she has been arrested for multiple
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: counts of child abuse. One of her kids climbed out
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: a window, went to the neighbor's house and was covered
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: in dirt and hadn't eaten for months or whatever. um
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: really disgusting story and she had 2.5 million followers on
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: youtube oh my god come out with a documentary about
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: her she's clearly been um you know by the court
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: of public opinion she looks pretty guilty and.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: She seems awful i mean do you know anything about this.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: Story honestly i do not but i know other stories
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: like this and it really gets me mad that you
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: can be a despicable person And then the networks will
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: pick up on it and give you a show. And
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: then look, these are producers just sitting around waiting for
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: content to come at them. So when a story like
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: that comes by, they go, oh, I could sell this story.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: I could pitch this story in a minute. And all
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: they wait, look, yeah, I'm sorry. I'm going to get
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: down to what I always say. like four you need
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: four minutes you need four good minutes in life okay
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: if you're pitching a story to a network you got
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: to give them four good minutes so they don't turn
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: their face away and they're like hanging on everyone four
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: minutes anybody can pitch that story about ruby frank for
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: four minutes and the network will go yeah this is
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: great we got to make this fucking show we got
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: to make this movie we're going to make this series
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: it's four minutes rich okay that's what the the uh
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: What do you call them? The hyenas do out there.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: They wait for horrible stories like this one, and then
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: they pitch it and make money off of it. I
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: don't really like people like that. I don't like it.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: I think that you've got to think about the kids
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: and the shit she put children through. Why would this
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: woman get a show? It's a... I just, I don't
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: like the way the world is now with entertainment and stuff.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: I don't think anybody needs to always have a show
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: or a series because they did some bad shit.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that's true. Incidentally, what are you watching?
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I've had a lot of people on my show right
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: now from Netflix, from Love is Blind.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Do you watch shows like that?
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: No, I know about that show. I haven't watched it.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: I watched it once. I didn't dig it. That's the
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: one everybody's naked? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, look, everybody's naked
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: and no one looks good. So I looked at it
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: one time and I said, I'm done. I can't watch
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: this show. I'd rather, you know, no, no good. When
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: I was a kid, I used to look at motel
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: rooms with my buddy and we'd see people having sex.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: That was sexy. Seeing fat people naked? No, I don't
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: want that.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: So what are you watching that you like?
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: I watch, I love Yellowstone. You know what? Honestly, I'm
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: going to be frank. I look at my phone a lot.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: I'm on my phone a lot more than I should be.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: And that's part of the problem. I'm always looking at
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: my phone. What's on YouTube? What's on Instagram? And you
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: forget that there's books out there to read. And there's
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: TV shows out there. And you have a great story
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: to tell. You have a book at least or two
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: inside you. Doesn't it suck that people aren't reading books
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: as much as they should?
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it is interesting.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: And the books that do come out, they're being, you know,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: for two weeks, like you said beforehand, everybody's giving you
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: the inside scoop, so you don't even need to read it.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: And Rachel, all you need to do is have, you know, 100, 200, 300,000 followers,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: and the publishing house will give you a deal. Whereas
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: a guy like me, who's been, who's proven himself for years,
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: but it's not really an Instagram guy. I don't really,
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I don't try to make it a big following. They'll
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: look at you and go, well, you know, we really
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: don't see how we're going to sell this book.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: It's so funny that you say that.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: It's so funny that you say that because I don't
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: care about my Instagram. I post, you know, things to
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: promote my podcast. But I don't put a lot of
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: stuff about me.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Very, very little. I really, it gives me agita to
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: have to do that, right?
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: And the thing is, is that I have a book
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: that's being that's out for, you know, proposal is being
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: pitched to publishers. And I just had a call with
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: my agent who is a very famous agent. And he's like,
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: we're having a little bit of a hard time because
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: you're not talking enough about this or we don't know
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: how they're going to sell this. I'm like, are you kidding?
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: I'm interviewing people on my show that. are hardly interesting
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: and they're talking about one topic and here I have
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: 10 topics to cover and I've been through it and
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: you're having a hard time selling this this seems a
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: little odd.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: To me I know this is why I have a
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: third book in me it's fucking written in my head
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: all my LA stories I just told you a few
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: I have hundreds of those. And I'm like, well, who's
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: going to buy it? And I got to write a
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: 15-page proposal to some schmuck who's going to try to
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: sell it?
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: My last book- Who's also 25 and doesn't get anything
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: you're talking about.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Oh, no. Yeah. No, listen. My last editor was from Brown.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: She went to Brown, right? And we had lunch. She
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: got tanked at lunch. I was like, oh, this is
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: fucking weird. She's getting tanked at lunch. But, you know,
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: she had great credentials. She was Simon & Schuster. And,
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: you know, we parted. I sent her the book proposal.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: She loved it. A whole year before that, every publisher
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: said no. And this one was away on vacation because
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: her mother died and saw the proposal and said, I
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: love this book. So thank God for her. But I said,
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: I don't think you're going to be around much longer
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: in this publishing company, are you? No, I'm doing Derek
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: Jeter's book and then your book. And then she just split.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: She left. And I couldn't get my book back. I
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: couldn't get back. It was like I was a hostage.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: I'm like, give me my book. It finally got published.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: But people are fucking crazy out there. Young girls, young
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: guys who, I don't know what's in their head. I
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: don't know what. They're just not like we were growing up.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: They're very different. Right.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Well, it only takes one, right? It only takes one publisher.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: So that's what happened with, I keep reminding myself about
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Harry Potter. I think they said she was turned down
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: 40 times.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Before somebody chose to give her a chance. So I
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: know I have a bestseller.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: Oh, no, of course you do, Rachel. But not only that.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: I wrote the screenplay for my book, and people are like,
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: when's it going to get made? I go, it takes
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: a long time for people to raise funds. I'm not
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: making a Marvel movie. It's my life. It's a little
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: small movie. But things take, Forrest Gump took 13 years.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: A Field of Their Own took 12 years. The greatest
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: movies we've ever known, people said, this is horrible. I
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: don't want to look at this shit. And then they
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: end up getting made and they're beautiful. So of course
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: you have something in you that's going to be great,
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: but you got to find the right motherfucker who says, yeah,
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: she's right. Right now there's too many assholes out there. Right.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: That's right. All right.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: So just to wrap this up, is there anything you
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: see on the horizon that we should be looking at
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: or kind of investigating ourselves that stands out to you?
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: Maybe my suicide? Because my girlfriend left me? No, I
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: don't know. What's on the horizon in Hollywood? Well, I
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: think that there's a lot of negativity, a lot of
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: bad people at the helm now in Hollywood. I don't
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: think you're going to see the type of movies and
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: shows you want to see. I think what's going to
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: happen late, and I love movies and TV shows and documentaries,
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: but I think right now, if I can pick one topic,
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: there are very negative people who aren't really as smart
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: as they should be at the helm. So you're going
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: to see some movies and TV shows and series that
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: are about inclusivity and all that bullshit we talk about
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: every day that I can't stand, you know, inclusivity and
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: I can't stand gender. That's going to take over us
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: for the next five years. And hopefully in 2028, 2029,
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: we'll get out of it and start making good things
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: again with people that are really talented and not just
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: trying to check boxes, gender inclusivity. It's just diversity. I
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: can't stand it. I can't stand it.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: It should be about what's interesting and who's talented as
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: opposed to checking boxes.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: And who's talented. Yeah. And who's talented. Yeah. They're the
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: right person for the job, not the black person or
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: the gay person, the right person. Yeah. It's just simple.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: And if they happen to be black or gay, great.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: But if not.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: I don't care. I don't care if you're gay or black.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: I don't care. Just be right.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: Right. Exactly. I do understand that. Um, okay. So AJ Benza,
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: you are always so much fun to have.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: We're out of time.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: We're going to have you back hopefully in six weeks
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: or so to talk to us about all the new
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: things that are going on in the world.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Because hopefully there'll be all new things happening.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: But I wish you the best.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: You better stay safe until then. Don't go nuts about
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: the girlfriend.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: I'll call you if things get bad, but I think
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: I'll be okay.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: I'm always here. You have to use my number as
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: a get out of jail.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: All right, Rich. Thank you, sweetheart. Talk to you later. Okay, honey.

- 1:10:17Speaker 3: Where?
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: Dunaidial. There's an accent on the E.
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: Yes, I got it on Dundiel Cars.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Lift? Please.
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: You going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage.

- 1:10:30Speaker 6: Done deal cars.
- 1:10:31Speaker 7: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
