- 0:00Hey there, I'm recording this quick message to let you know that for the next few episodes, we'll be playing some of our favorite hits from the past year while we knuckle down on some very new exciting things we have in the works. If you missed these the first time around, they are so good and packed with so many learnings. And if you love them, remember to share with us on social media because we love it when you do that. Enjoy. Welcome back. Here are the six quick questions.
- 0:38number one is what's your why why are you doing what you're doing I want to be able to make you know like what we're trying to do is to be able to build you know sunscreen as a daily habit and I wanted to make it as planet friendly and as conscious as possible and that's my why question number two is what do you think has been the number one marketing moment that's made the business pop
- 1:02Going into retail. So I think going into Ulta, going to Target, going to all the sort of famous doors really put us on the map. Amazing. Question number three is where do you hang out to get smarter? What are you reading or listening to or subscribing to? Oh, interesting. I mean, I actually like talking to founders from different businesses as I always take time out to like reach out and like schedule a call and get to know them.
- 1:29And actually, you know, where I hang out to get smart is actually other smart people. So it's like, I want to get to the source, not just like a derivative of a source. So actually listening to podcasts like yours, you know, like listening to founder stories, I think is really important. And, you know, and I think it's also really important to have diversity in your network to be smarter. Yeah, absolutely. For sure. Question number four is how do you win the day? What keeps you feeling happy and productive and sane? Yeah.
- 1:58Building a routine. So, I mean, that starts with skincare, right? If you want to not age, well, start with building a routine of, you know, wearing sunscreen every day. And if you want to be healthy, you want to start by exercising. And I think a lot in life, we're all work in progress self, I believe. So that's sort of like the model of the brand. It's like if you want to do better, you need to start with a habit or routine. For sure.
- 2:22Question number five is if you were given $1,000 of no strings attached grant money, where would you allocate that in the business? Fundraising. So I think liquidity is the key for any business to be able to scale. So being cash rich is very important. So if I have $1,000, I'm not going to use it. I'm actually going to go out and find more. Love that as an answer. That's great. And last question, question number six is how do you deal with failure?
- 2:50And it's a really dorky quote that's like, when one door closes, another one opens. So it's true, but don't treat a failure as a no. I think it's always like a not yet. So don't think that like sometimes a failure can be, you know, can be turned around. And what you view today is a failure. But actually, in retrospect, it's just like a not yet. So don't treat every single failure as a hard no. Oh, I love that.
- 3:14This was so amazing, Charlotte. Thank you so much for taking the time. You have shared so many cool things that I didn't know, definitely didn't know what an LCA was all about, sadly, but now I do. And I'm so grateful. Thank you so much for joining me. Yeah, thank you so much for taking the time as well. I'm looking forward to for you to continue using our sunscreen and to hopefully get to see you one day in London.
