Hazam Faris – Gazan Student VISA situation -21/09/26

The KCLR Daily with Brian Redmond · Sep 21, 2026 · 11m

Hazam Faris – is a 19-year-old Palestinian student who was refused permission to come Ireland to study in SETU (Waterford campus) this month. He was on the show early last month. He was awarded a scholarship to study computer science in SETU in Carlow before his visa was denied after being asked to justify education gaps and provide original bank statements. Such requirements have been virtually impossible for students like Hazem to comply with due to the ongoing violence and destruction of infrastructure in Gaza.
