Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Previously, I'm Relatables Baddie's book Club, and she goes, something
- 0:03Speaker 1: doesn't feel right. She turns around, Reese behind her, lifeless,
- 0:11Speaker 1: his chest not rising, and then the vine reesand was dead.
- 0:18Speaker 2: No.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Welcome to Relatables Baddies book Clubs, where we will embark on.
- 0:25Speaker 1: A journey reading some of the finest pieces of literature
- 0:27Speaker 1: you have ever laid eyes or he is if that's
- 0:30Speaker 1: your preferred way to consume a book on.
- 0:35Speaker 2: A court of frost and starlight. Chapters from the start
- 0:38Speaker 2: to fourteen the middle, exactly in the middle.
- 0:43Speaker 4: He's a small book. Look how little it is. Hold
- 0:47Speaker 4: it out to the camera. It's tiny. Look at the thickness.
- 0:50Speaker 4: It's honestly, you could we could smash it out in
- 0:52Speaker 4: a day, if you had a day.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I normally like to say good things come in small packages. However,
- 0:59Speaker 2: I'm having troubles with this book.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Jake, quite a lot of troubles. I went into
- 1:06Speaker 4: it open minded, same.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I was quite excited, and everyone was telling us there's
- 1:11Speaker 2: new writing techniques, and you get to know the characters
- 1:14Speaker 2: even more. And obviously it's written from everyone's pov sort of. Yeah,
- 1:18Speaker 2: there's also some third person for some reason really confusing,
- 1:21Speaker 2: very ah, but I saw this thing actually and I
- 1:25Speaker 2: wanted to take this into my reading journey, and it was,
- 1:28Speaker 2: you know how we give thoughts and feelings and we
- 1:31Speaker 2: go through all the different plot twists. Someone said, like
- 1:36Speaker 2: everyone on social media and everything like that says what's
- 1:38Speaker 2: wrong with the books, but he is immersed in it
- 1:42Speaker 2: and whatever is written goes no matter what.
- 1:45Speaker 4: And I wanted to take that into my reading, like
- 1:47Speaker 4: I don't.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Have any sort of discrepancies at all, Like it's just
- 1:49Speaker 2: this is the book.
- 1:50Speaker 4: You can't have a discrepancy because this is the book. Yeah,
- 1:52Speaker 4: but I can't do it. I tried, I really try
- 1:57Speaker 4: to be fair.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I like that the way that whoever said it thinks
- 1:59Speaker 1: is like the book isn't going to change.
- 2:01Speaker 4: It's written, it's published. Yeah, Like it's the law, Like
- 2:06Speaker 4: you can't change it.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yea. Like with the last one, how there was a
- 2:09Speaker 2: couple of things how Reese could just kill everyone but
- 2:11Speaker 2: he does like things like that, and we were like,
- 2:12Speaker 2: why doesn't he Reese is showing his powers and a
- 2:14Speaker 2: spell just yeah nullifies everything. Yeah, but that's just the
- 2:17Speaker 2: law with this one, Like I don't know, what do
- 2:20Speaker 2: you think.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I just think that you said it a while ago.
- 2:27Speaker 1: People were as you saw comments saying, people were like,
- 2:29Speaker 1: you don't have to read it, you know, you don't
- 2:31Speaker 1: have to, like obviously.
- 2:31Speaker 4: We knew we would because why not.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Ah, you were like, you can just maybe it's a
- 2:35Speaker 1: bit of a nothing book and it just it fits
- 2:37Speaker 1: under those things.
- 2:38Speaker 4: It's just in a nutshell, life in Valarius after the war.
- 2:43Speaker 1: That's literally what it is. It's just life in Valaris
- 2:45Speaker 1: after the war and kind of you know.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Bits and pieces of stuff that could be going on in.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Other courts, but other than that, it's pretty just it's
- 2:55Speaker 1: almost like.
- 2:57Speaker 4: What she's done is akatar good.
- 3:01Speaker 1: It's slow build up, slow build up, like well, to
- 3:04Speaker 1: be fair, got into it quickly but then slowed down
- 3:06Speaker 1: and like ends with you know, yeah a quarter miss
- 3:11Speaker 1: and fury. It is like just a lot you know,
- 3:16Speaker 1: enemies to lovers and then the ending where she goes.
- 3:18Speaker 4: To high Burn.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Yeah she had two back to backs exactly, and then
- 3:22Speaker 1: also she had a triple.
- 3:25Speaker 4: She had a fucking three.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Peet with the books at amazing as amazing AKA war
- 3:30Speaker 1: best one in my opinion is like then that's the war,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you know, happy ending. You could to be fair, you
- 3:38Speaker 1: could finish on that book, but if you want to
- 3:40Speaker 1: read on, it's like you're gonna need.
- 3:42Speaker 4: A little bit of boring.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 4: And also, I'm not gonna lie to you.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I am refreshed that they all just they actually do
- 3:49Speaker 1: get to sit back and relax a bit, like kind
- 3:51Speaker 1: of not really, they're not thinking about war and their lives.
- 3:54Speaker 4: They're busy with other ship.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I have a question though, Yeah, why why why.
- 4:00Speaker 4: I would you say all these things.
- 4:03Speaker 1: It's gotta be setting up for something true. We're only
- 4:07Speaker 1: halfway through, yeah, Like there's still there's still predictions to
- 4:10Speaker 1: be made, so I want to say before. I don't
- 4:15Speaker 1: know if I want to say this before we get
- 4:16Speaker 1: into it or while we're in it. But it's gonna
- 4:19Speaker 1: it's gonna happen. We're gonna talk about it. But I
- 4:24Speaker 1: fucking hate Nesta again.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Yeah, she's jarring.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I thought her character was going to change after what
- 4:32Speaker 2: happened in the last one.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Yeah a war, Like, why didn't her and Cassie and
- 4:38Speaker 1: go home and just make sweet sweet love until the
- 4:43Speaker 1: sun didn't fucking rise no more. I don't understand she
- 4:46Speaker 1: hates his fucking guts for no reason, and then everyone's
- 4:51Speaker 1: talking about it and not bringing up her name around him,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and they're like, we all know why. So are we
- 4:56Speaker 1: gonna get a backstory of something that happened when they
- 4:58Speaker 1: got back from the war or some shit that we just.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Haven't gotten yet. That's what I want to know, because
- 5:02Speaker 4: I hate being left hanging. We want the tea. Yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 4: it's taking a long time to get there. Yeah, there's
- 5:07Speaker 4: like a a pardon here. We'll literally we'll talk about
- 5:09Speaker 4: it in like two minutes.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Where Reese goes, I know, casing is like his Nesta
- 5:12Speaker 1: coming to solstice, and he goes, Yep, both sisters will.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Be there, whether they like it or not.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And then he Reese is like, if Nessa doesn't want
- 5:21Speaker 1: to be there, you can talk to her about it
- 5:22Speaker 1: or some shit, and he goes, that'll probably end in violence.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I was like, why, why is it gonna end violence?
- 5:27Speaker 1: Why did she all of a sudden hate you again
- 5:29Speaker 1: the death of her father. Don't tell me that's the
- 5:31Speaker 1: excuse why she's depressed. I will not take that as
- 5:33Speaker 1: an excuse because she hated his fucking gun.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, when Phara was like Dad would have wanted you
- 5:37Speaker 2: to come or something like that.
- 5:38Speaker 4: So don't. Don't you like you had the best relationship
- 5:41Speaker 4: with him, and you have the right to act like that.
- 5:45Speaker 4: He's still there their father, I guess. And Reese hates
- 5:48Speaker 4: Nesta and I love him even more for it. I know,
- 5:51Speaker 4: I know, I know.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Okay, So chapter one, guys, what I want to say
- 5:55Speaker 1: is that also I spoke in an episode was E
- 5:57Speaker 1: the last episode of the episode before it, talking about
- 6:00Speaker 1: that duology. I read One Dark Window, Two Twisted Crowns
- 6:03Speaker 1: first one b second one Zeology. It's called a duology
- 6:06Speaker 1: where because it's two books, I learned that.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there, thinking I'm not going to notice.
- 6:14Speaker 1: And so the second book was written in the pov
- 6:18Speaker 1: of the three main characters, and it was like, so
- 6:22Speaker 1: it was like Fayra, Reese, Cassian. Yeah, but it stayed
- 6:25Speaker 1: in that pattern, so on and so forth, and I
- 6:27Speaker 1: didn't like it. This book's written like that, but not exactly.
- 6:31Speaker 4: I don't like. I'm not a fan.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I like Reese. But then it's gone to third person
- 6:38Speaker 2: for some reason. And then I listen and read and
- 6:41Speaker 2: the narrator for more and Cassian is the same, and
- 6:45Speaker 2: it's just kind of like jarring in your ears. It
- 6:48Speaker 2: sounds semi like a robot. Obviously you should just be reading.
- 6:52Speaker 2: But still, no, I.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Agree because and Reese are literally talking from the first person.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Why can't Actually it was almost like I can't be bothered.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Maybe I don't know, because this other one I read,
- 7:05Speaker 1: even though I said I didn't like it as much
- 7:06Speaker 1: as the first one. They were all in the first person,
- 7:10Speaker 1: at least each one.
- 7:11Speaker 2: So well Moore's backstory, and she has like she goes
- 7:17Speaker 2: back in time to when she was dropped out the
- 7:19Speaker 2: front of the Autumn Court and abandoned. It was a
- 7:22Speaker 2: really heart wrenching moment, but it was written in third person.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I couldn't feel for her.
- 7:26Speaker 4: I've read it. I didn't listen to that.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I just read it, so I'm kind of chilling it
- 7:30Speaker 1: like I kind of was still heart rending, but also
- 7:32Speaker 1: I was reading it, yes, and as if I was saying,
- 7:36Speaker 1: but okay.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Chapter one is starts off with fairah.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Okay, so starts with a face she's waken up and
- 7:44Speaker 1: Reese isn't there, and she goes on to say, that's
- 7:46Speaker 1: actually not anything out of the ordinary anymore since we've
- 7:49Speaker 1: been home, because we've both been busy, busy, busy, Okay,
- 7:53Speaker 1: starting to snow. Summer was when they had the war.
- 7:57Speaker 1: That means a little bit times past, like Autumn's past.
- 7:59Speaker 1: They're going into win and Solstice is in a week,
- 8:03Speaker 1: so she's always she's talking about Solstus being in a week,
- 8:07Speaker 1: praying everyone forgets that that's her birthday. She goes downstairs,
- 8:11Speaker 1: having Brecky on her own recess off somewhere. She talks
- 8:13Speaker 1: down the bond.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Where are you?
- 8:14Speaker 1: Doesn't reply for a while. He must be far away,
- 8:17Speaker 1: she says, he must be. He could even not even
- 8:19Speaker 1: be in the night Court. It's not again, nothing out
- 8:21Speaker 1: of the norm these days. He had to have a
- 8:22Speaker 1: meet things bro. And then she goes and she says, says,
- 8:26Speaker 1: highlight Nuala and carriage win or maybe just one of them,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I don't remember. Not super important. But she talks about
- 8:33Speaker 1: cleaning her dishes. Guys, I'm telling you just life. She's
- 8:37Speaker 1: just doing life. She starts to add in stuff about
- 8:41Speaker 1: how busy they've been since they've been back, with just
- 8:45Speaker 1: the boring, mundane paperwork of running the night Court, because
- 8:49Speaker 1: she now also runs the night Court. And I was like,
- 8:54Speaker 1: you're literally an immortal magic thing.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Why are you doing people? It doesn't make sense, and
- 9:06Speaker 4: she's like, I don't know how Reese did this.
- 9:08Speaker 1: He talks about having like checking the budgets and shit,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and then she every time they talk about budget and money,
- 9:13Speaker 1: there's a reference to how they don't even need to think.
- 9:16Speaker 4: About it because they have so much.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Then stop talking about it, Bro, Yeah they have, like
- 9:23Speaker 1: I reckon, they must have been billionaires or some shit.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Oh yeah, reason never has to think about money ever.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:29Speaker 1: And then finally, like Reese replies to her little thing
- 9:31Speaker 1: saying he's at Devlin's camp in Allyria in the mountains.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And then chapter two, Reese pov at least it's Reese's POV.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I like Reese's So he is at Devlin's camp with Cassian.
- 9:43Speaker 1: They are just going to like stay hi and help
- 9:46Speaker 1: out with some preparations for Solstice because they celebrate Solstice
- 9:49Speaker 1: as well, and having an argument about whether or not
- 9:52Speaker 1: the girls have been training because they're trying to get
- 9:56Speaker 1: the girls to train, and Devlon's like, come on, the boys,
- 9:59Speaker 1: they went to war this year, Let's give them a
- 10:01Speaker 1: good Solstice and.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Let the girls give it to them. Cassian's like, bro, I'm.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Telling you two hours in the morning, that's all I
- 10:06Speaker 1: want two hours of training and then they can go, they.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Can prepare for Solstice.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Blah blah blah. They're arguing. Then Reese cuts in. Reese
- 10:16Speaker 1: is having a little monologue moment. He goes, five hundred
- 10:19Speaker 1: years we've been fucking dealing with this, or like decade
- 10:21Speaker 1: however long Cassian's been general he's wanted women to train.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Which is fair, which is good, which is fucking good,
- 10:27Speaker 2: and I think it mirrors something in real life. Yeah,
- 10:30Speaker 2: And then Reese in his monologue is going, the whole time,
- 10:34Speaker 2: I could just go into their minds and make them
- 10:38Speaker 2: do it, like make them want to do it as well,
- 10:40Speaker 2: not even just make them against their will.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Would have loved if he did.
- 10:44Speaker 1: And then he goes, but that's a line I'll never
- 10:45Speaker 1: cross right again, across a line.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Like talking about Olympics. Bad still, but I mean, I
- 10:55Speaker 4: guess it adds story, like he has morals, at least
- 10:57Speaker 4: he has morals. And so.
- 11:00Speaker 1: They go, and this is the camp that they grew
- 11:02Speaker 1: up in, by the way, and then this is also
- 11:04Speaker 1: the camp that they winned back to in Akamath when
- 11:08Speaker 1: the first time they fucked in the cabin oh no, sorry,
- 11:11Speaker 1: when she found out they were mates, and then they
- 11:13Speaker 1: went to the they went back to the camp, and
- 11:14Speaker 1: then she went to the cabin. This is that camp,
- 11:17Speaker 1: and so him and after after the argument with Devlin,
- 11:19Speaker 1: Cassie and Reese go over to the house. They're talking.
- 11:24Speaker 1: They're talking about some I want to say, disruption within
- 11:28Speaker 1: the camps, the Illyrian camps, and because they're all coming together,
- 11:32Speaker 1: they're starting to for they've always just hated Reese as
- 11:35Speaker 1: Reel and Cassian for who they are, so no, not
- 11:37Speaker 1: for who they are, for what they are what and
- 11:39Speaker 1: who I guess bastards and you know, half breeds. But
- 11:44Speaker 1: now there's disruption in the camps because of the fact
- 11:47Speaker 1: that they sent them to war, and so they need.
- 11:52Speaker 4: To nip it in the butt, but they don't really
- 11:54Speaker 4: know how.
- 11:54Speaker 1: And now that Solsi has come about, everyone's coming together
- 11:57Speaker 1: and it's gonna get worse, and they're a little bit worried.
- 11:59Speaker 4: But then.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Reese is just saying the Cassian, well, all right, stick
- 12:05Speaker 1: around for three days and come back for Solstice. Cassian's going, well,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I could actually help out here at Solstice, and like,
- 12:11Speaker 1: you know, at least we have a presence here, and
- 12:13Speaker 1: then maybe they wouldn't be so upset, and and Reese
- 12:18Speaker 1: is like, nah, you're coming, everyone's coming for favor's sake
- 12:22Speaker 1: or some shit.
- 12:22Speaker 4: We're together, this way together for this one. We need
- 12:24Speaker 4: to be sweet.
- 12:25Speaker 1: They've postponed their five days annual hunt that they're supposed
- 12:29Speaker 1: to do again. They've postponed it. It's postponed for fifty
- 12:31Speaker 1: years now because he was with Amorantha. But yeah, and
- 12:35Speaker 1: so Cassian starts asking about Nesta. Will Nesta be there?
- 12:39Speaker 1: And that's what I said before. She'll be there, whether
- 12:41Speaker 1: she likes it or not. It's gonna end in violence.
- 12:43Speaker 1: That's what it was said. And then again that's where
- 12:47Speaker 1: the instant that happened. I was just thinking, wait, why
- 12:50Speaker 1: aren't Cassie and Essa dating.
- 12:53Speaker 4: It was a big hop, skip.
- 12:54Speaker 2: And a jump from how Nessa ended in the last book.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Now she's backband bitchy with no explanation.
- 13:03Speaker 4: She killed the king in the last one, Yeah, finished
- 13:05Speaker 4: him off.
- 13:06Speaker 1: And she was like over Cassian's body, like, oh, she
- 13:10Speaker 1: was gonna die with him.
- 13:11Speaker 4: And now they won't even talk. Now they won't even
- 13:14Speaker 4: fucking talk. Cassian like won't even doesn't even want to
- 13:18Speaker 4: hear her name mentioned. To be fair fourteen.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Chapters without finding that out is quite a lot, I
- 13:23Speaker 2: agreeut finding what happens, yeah, agreed, bro, because we're busy
- 13:28Speaker 2: talking about fer painting random shit.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Chapter three, This is a Cassian chapter, but my narrated
- 13:36Speaker 1: in someone else's PV.
- 13:38Speaker 4: So recent leaves. Cassian then goes to have a fly.
- 13:42Speaker 1: He flies around and they get to find out a
- 13:46Speaker 1: bit of history about the Allyrians.
- 13:47Speaker 4: So he's flying.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Towards the heart of the night Court, but also the heart,
- 13:53Speaker 2: the heart of Oliria.
- 13:54Speaker 4: And there's a mountain I can't quite remember the name
- 13:57Speaker 4: of it.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Is it written down there? No, but not super important.
- 14:04Speaker 1: This mountain is where the blood Right is held every
- 14:07Speaker 1: year in spring, and that's where all the Allyrians.
- 14:09Speaker 4: We spoke about that before, where.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Novices turned into soldiers and they get their wings bound.
- 14:18Speaker 4: They aren't allowed to use any magic.
- 14:20Speaker 1: There's like a spell that doesn't let them use magic,
- 14:22Speaker 1: and they only get to go out in the woods
- 14:24Speaker 1: with the what they've got on their back, and then
- 14:26Speaker 1: they have to survive the week and get to the
- 14:28Speaker 1: top of this mountain and then you pass. And Cassie
- 14:32Speaker 1: and Asrael and Reese all did that, and he just
- 14:35Speaker 1: like talks about it and he even says like, I'll
- 14:39Speaker 1: do it again if it means they'll stop fucking trying
- 14:41Speaker 1: to like overthrow us. And then he flies from there
- 14:46Speaker 1: to the village he was born and that's where his mum.
- 14:50Speaker 1: He was born in the outskirts of this village, and.
- 14:55Speaker 4: His mum was super poor. He was a bastard. He
- 14:57Speaker 4: didn't have a dad. This was sad.
- 14:59Speaker 1: And then he speaks about the reason why he's getting
- 15:03Speaker 1: the girls to train.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Is for his mum. It's for.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It's all for her, regardless of what Amron says about him,
- 15:10Speaker 1: like Ameron always calls him like the Lirian brute and
- 15:12Speaker 1: he's stupid and shit. And I was actually kind of
- 15:14Speaker 1: like facts that fuck you, Amron. It made me mad
- 15:17Speaker 1: because I love Kassian. And then Cassian says the way
- 15:20Speaker 1: he's in like the village, he's in his ruins. It's
- 15:22Speaker 1: like an Allyrian camp turn of ruins, because when he
- 15:25Speaker 1: got old enough, he went back to the camp he
- 15:27Speaker 1: was born and he started to like torture everyone for
- 15:30Speaker 1: a fucking info on his mum, and they all were
- 15:32Speaker 1: spitting in his face and he just fucked the camp
- 15:35Speaker 1: up and then no one's lived there every again. It
- 15:38Speaker 1: used to be like as big as Devil's camp apparently,
- 15:41Speaker 1: and so then he just finishes off with saying, yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: I'll be a Solcialus in three days.
- 15:48Speaker 4: But yeah, that was a Cassian chapter. It was yeah,
- 15:52Speaker 4: it's funny.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, do you know what I think of with the
- 15:55Speaker 2: h how they all go and fight and go top
- 15:58Speaker 2: of the mountain. I was thinking of May's run. That's cool,
- 16:01Speaker 2: That's what I was thinking of, Like how they all
- 16:03Speaker 2: go into closes in the shit.
- 16:06Speaker 4: I was thinking of Hunger Games. Hunger Games.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I think in first Hungry Games, how it's in
- 16:10Speaker 1: a forest but it's all snow.
- 16:12Speaker 4: In this one, chapter four, we're back to Fayra.
- 16:16Speaker 1: She talks about how her and Reese have been hosting weekly, yeah,
- 16:25Speaker 1: weekly open audiences at the House of Wind, and that's
- 16:28Speaker 1: where everyone in Valarus can come down with any problems
- 16:30Speaker 1: they have and they'll answer like anything. It could be
- 16:32Speaker 1: super simple, and she says like that a lantern on
- 16:35Speaker 1: the street is out, which is like okay, fixed. And
- 16:37Speaker 1: then it's harder ones where people are like, oh could
- 16:42Speaker 1: because they've opened up Valrus to trade with the other courts,
- 16:45Speaker 1: they're like, oh, it's actually impacting the locals.
- 16:47Speaker 4: We don't want it, and so then they have to
- 16:49Speaker 4: like navigate that.
- 16:50Speaker 1: She talks about how hard it is and they have
- 16:52Speaker 1: to reply to everyone, and she gets she doesn't know
- 16:54Speaker 1: how does it. She wants a secretary. They can afford it,
- 16:57Speaker 1: but why would she do it? And I was like,
- 16:58Speaker 1: do it, yeah, exactly.
- 17:00Speaker 4: If you can afford We've got the money. Yeah.
- 17:02Speaker 1: And then she's walking in the Artist Quarter and she
- 17:05Speaker 1: goes and she's looking at a building that it was
- 17:07Speaker 1: turned to rubble from the attack on Valrus from Highburn,
- 17:11Speaker 1: and she's thinking about it, and then there's a voice
- 17:12Speaker 1: behind her that startles her and says, oh, they made
- 17:14Speaker 1: it out alive, you know. And it's an artist from
- 17:16Speaker 1: the Artist Quarter talking to her.
- 17:19Speaker 4: And Parah goes, oh wow. Where they go.
- 17:21Speaker 1: She talks about how they've moved kind of closer to
- 17:23Speaker 1: the sea and with family, and then there's a building
- 17:26Speaker 1: behind her board it up and she goes, what about
- 17:28Speaker 1: that one? And the artist says, oh, that's a saddest story.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Didn't make it.
- 17:34Speaker 4: It was her art studio.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Her name was Paulina. I think it was her art
- 17:39Speaker 1: duty of studio for centuries. But yeah, she didn't make it.
- 17:42Speaker 1: And then she introduces herself as a Racina and she says, oh,
- 17:45Speaker 1: I'm Favra and she's like, yeah, fucking no, hello lady,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and boom you and she's like we She's like, we
- 17:53Speaker 1: all see you, you know, like you are welcome here.
- 17:57Speaker 1: We none of us approach you because we want to
- 17:58Speaker 1: give you your privacy, but you are welcome in any
- 18:04Speaker 1: one of these stores with open arms, you know that,
- 18:06Speaker 1: Like we remember what you.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Did for us. And Pharah is like, yeah, but it
- 18:09Speaker 4: wasn't enough.
- 18:10Speaker 1: And I was like, you did some be shit fair,
- 18:12Speaker 1: some slack, some slack. And then she's like, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 1: you could buy that studio over there. She goes, whoa, whoa, no, no, no,
- 18:18Speaker 1: why would I do that? She goes, I've heard you're
- 18:19Speaker 1: quite the artist. I was thinking, fuck, yeah, Fara, you're
- 18:22Speaker 1: getting huked up here.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 18:25Speaker 1: And then she just says that she's not in the market.
- 18:28Speaker 1: And so Rissina says.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Cool, Well, every every other day or.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Once a week or whatever, I mean, some artists go
- 18:33Speaker 2: to my studio just over there, I live above it,
- 18:35Speaker 2: and we just paint it together.
- 18:37Speaker 1: And she goes, whoa, what do you paint? She's like whatever,
- 18:40Speaker 1: needs to be painted, and I was kind of like, yeah,
- 18:42Speaker 1: my drop. And then she walks away and I was
- 18:44Speaker 1: like sick out of nowhere. More comes around, arm in hand.
- 18:49Speaker 4: They must be I think Pharaoh must have like next
- 18:51Speaker 4: scene or whatever.
- 18:52Speaker 1: She's going to look for presents and Moore comes up
- 18:55Speaker 1: says Hi to Pharah.
- 18:55Speaker 4: They're talking.
- 18:56Speaker 1: She says, oh, if you bought that sapphire fram and
- 18:58Speaker 1: she'd love you forever. So Pharaoh goes sick, put it
- 19:01Speaker 1: on the account, let's fucking go. And then she's her
- 19:06Speaker 1: more a chitty chatting talking about presents. What do they
- 19:09Speaker 1: get for the what should she get for Cassie and Azrael.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Moore was like, fuck this shit. I've got them like
- 19:13Speaker 1: five hundred gifts over the years. It's pointless. And then
- 19:17Speaker 1: she goes Pharaih says some more. I have a feeling
- 19:21Speaker 1: that you didn't come to find me for no reason
- 19:22Speaker 1: at all. She goes, yeah, actually we need to go
- 19:24Speaker 1: to the human City tonight.
- 19:27Speaker 4: He's like, fuck, why are you telling me now? It's
- 19:29Speaker 4: like she's got the info this morning.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Asriel told me this morning that bloody h Eiris is
- 19:35Speaker 1: going to be there talking to Dad, and I wanted
- 19:36Speaker 1: to go say hi.
- 19:37Speaker 4: It's tradition that we go give.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Him good will, especially after the war. You know a
- 19:40Speaker 1: lot of dark Bringers died. But also I want to
- 19:43Speaker 1: go just like show face and scare.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Them a bit.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Chapter five, farh Again, Reese comes home and he hasn't
- 19:53Speaker 1: been home all day because so Far has gone back home.
- 19:56Speaker 1: She's chilling in bed. She feels him coming back home.
- 19:58Speaker 1: She goes to read a book. She's like, I was
- 20:00Speaker 1: going to do some work, but More said, we're leaving
- 20:02Speaker 1: in an hour, so I read a book instead.
- 20:05Speaker 4: It's great use of your time.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And so then she's laying in bed and she said
- 20:11Speaker 1: she was ten pages in.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Wasn't there a bit about the books where they're like
- 20:15Speaker 4: they mentioned smart Yeah, has to reach smart. Yeah. Yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 1: So Reese comes in and you know, he's like, look
- 20:27Speaker 1: exactly where I left you. She goes, isn't that all
- 20:29Speaker 1: I'm good for? And I was like fuck yes. Finally
- 20:31Speaker 1: they go fuck like.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and then they're talking.
- 20:38Speaker 1: She goes, you look exhausted. Can't we just postpone this meeting?
- 20:42Speaker 1: He says no, it's fine. He's like, yeah, let me
- 20:44Speaker 1: just I am hungry. I just want to eat you
- 20:46Speaker 1: she goes, what have you eaten today? It's like, seriously fair.
- 20:48Speaker 4: It's fine.
- 20:49Speaker 1: She goes, no, I'm going to the kitchen. She goes
- 20:51Speaker 1: and makes him a big ass meal, comes back in.
- 20:54Speaker 4: He's eating. All he's trying to do is fuck.
- 20:58Speaker 2: He's always trying to do in this scenario, You're like,
- 21:01Speaker 2: when I have sex with your girl and she just
- 21:04Speaker 2: disappears back of like a sandwich.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, have gone with you because you brought
- 21:09Speaker 4: the old kitchen. He just wants a fuck. And then.
- 21:14Speaker 1: They get down and they start to get a bit dirty.
- 21:16Speaker 1: He finally he's like, yeah, let's go, and then more
- 21:17Speaker 1: knocks on the door. We gotta fucking go. Whatever you
- 21:19Speaker 1: guys are doing.
- 21:20Speaker 4: In there, wrap it up? Whatever? Cool.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Chapter five Sorry no, Chapter six. This is a more chapter.
- 21:28Speaker 1: So they're at the Human City. They go to see
- 21:31Speaker 1: care here here, and while she's there, she's kind of
- 21:35Speaker 1: having a little bit of a bad flashback of the
- 21:36Speaker 1: day that she had the like steaks in her stomach
- 21:41Speaker 1: and she was just dropped on the border.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And so what happened on that day was she was
- 21:44Speaker 2: dropped on the border. She's like barely alive. She's like
- 21:46Speaker 2: barely barely awake.
- 21:48Speaker 1: But then she hears footsteps coming, and she's kind of
- 21:51Speaker 1: like fuck. All she's thinking is the people that love
- 21:54Speaker 1: me are never gonna be able to find me, like
- 21:55Speaker 1: Reese Azrael cast and they're never gonna be able to
- 21:57Speaker 1: find me.
- 21:58Speaker 4: And then it was an Autumn Court patrol on the border.
- 22:03Speaker 1: And it was led by Airis and Aris probably just
- 22:07Speaker 1: knew that she was going to be there because he
- 22:09Speaker 1: was coming to pick up his betrothed or some shit,
- 22:10Speaker 1: I don't know. But then the Autumn Court soldiers are like,
- 22:14Speaker 1: we have to help her, and he goes, do not
- 22:16Speaker 1: fucking touch her, because once we touch her, she then
- 22:18Speaker 1: becomes our problem. And I don't I don't want to
- 22:23Speaker 1: have like.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Some sloppy seconds, is what he says.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Basically, he goes, I don't want some sloppy seconds, all right,
- 22:29Speaker 1: especially after what I was promised, and I especially don't
- 22:31Speaker 1: want sloppy seconds from some random alirium bastard. So leave her.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And then they just leave, and I was like fair.
- 22:38Speaker 1: She obviously hates him for a reason. And so from
- 22:41Speaker 1: there does she say about Asrael finding her? I don't
- 22:43Speaker 1: really remember, No, she didn't know. She kind of just
- 22:46Speaker 1: goes flashed back into now she's at the meeting.
- 22:49Speaker 4: And then Pharah grabbed her hand or something. Yeah, she
- 22:52Speaker 4: knows more.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Pharaoh grabs her hand, and Reese is talking to kir
- 22:56Speaker 1: And and Ares is there and a bit of a nothing.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Not really the thing that was they really focused on
- 23:03Speaker 1: was more is like almost losing her maybe confidence with
- 23:11Speaker 1: running the Human City. The fact that Eris and her
- 23:16Speaker 1: dad are like together just brings back really bad memories
- 23:19Speaker 1: where if it's just her dad, she's sweet, she can
- 23:20Speaker 1: handle him, but when it's Ris and her dad, it's
- 23:23Speaker 1: just like it's.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Doing a bit too much for her. So she is
- 23:27Speaker 4: just yeah, some shitty memories are coming back.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Well, maybe we should show a little bit more empathy,
- 23:31Speaker 2: because I guess this whole book is they're all lost
- 23:35Speaker 2: because of the.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Impact of the war. Yeah, they're all fucking spiraling.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Bro, Maybe we jumping to conclusions and Nesta's being a
- 23:42Speaker 2: bitch because that's her way of dealing it confidence, Like
- 23:46Speaker 2: Moore's way of dealing with it is loss of confidence.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Yeah, And like Reese and Favor, they're nothing's really wrong
- 23:52Speaker 4: with them at the moment, not too bad, but they
- 23:53Speaker 4: have each other.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's why they're kind of like they're they're
- 23:56Speaker 1: the strongest front because they have each other and they
- 23:58Speaker 1: do talk, have good communication.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Best why Asrael doesn't talk, as I gotta say, Asrael,
- 24:04Speaker 4: he is the foundation of the family.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll tell you what, Asrael for someone who doesn't talk,
- 24:11Speaker 1: it's got the best comedic timing I've ever seen. He
- 24:14Speaker 1: has the best communication skills too, Oath he does. He
- 24:16Speaker 1: just says what needs to be said. It doesn't beat
- 24:19Speaker 1: around the bush.
- 24:20Speaker 4: True're trying to take that more into my life.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Try Chapter seven, back to Reese, So he's up in
- 24:29Speaker 1: his Reese couldn't sleep very well that night, so he's
- 24:33Speaker 1: gone up to his office in the House of Wind.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I personally just want to before we get into just
- 24:39Speaker 1: where would you live in Valarus?
- 24:42Speaker 2: I would have been in the House of Window Kid. Oh,
- 24:45Speaker 2: I would not that shed down there?
- 24:46Speaker 4: Are you kidding?
- 24:48Speaker 3: They're living in a literal garden shed compared to the
- 24:52Speaker 3: House of Wind.
- 24:54Speaker 4: It's just too big. It's not homie.
- 24:55Speaker 1: But all they're doing is complaining about a cramped space
- 24:59Speaker 1: in the town.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Sorry, it's got to add that's what they're talking about
- 25:02Speaker 4: as well.
- 25:02Speaker 1: So I'll give a quick, not little thing. So Elaine
- 25:06Speaker 1: still lives at the house, the townhouse. Nessa lives at
- 25:10Speaker 1: her own apartment. She's chosen for some reason, like there's
- 25:13Speaker 1: like two blocks in the city that are slummy, not
- 25:16Speaker 1: even slummy, just old, and she's chosen, like the worst
- 25:19Speaker 1: place you could pssibly live. Lucian he comes back, he
- 25:22Speaker 1: gets a nice apartment.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Of course, it's got taste. Boy, he's got taste. Of
- 25:26Speaker 4: course he does.
- 25:27Speaker 1: As Reel, I'm assuming he just has a crib. Cassian
- 25:33Speaker 1: he has a house, but it's in Aliria. Every time
- 25:35Speaker 1: he comes to Valarus, he literally just crashes on someone's bed,
- 25:38Speaker 1: in someone's bed or lange or whatever.
- 25:40Speaker 2: More.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Has to have a place. Amaron has a place. But yeah,
- 25:43Speaker 1: so Elaine and Farah and Reese still live in the townhouse.
- 25:48Speaker 1: But now Reese couldn't sleep. He is up at the
- 25:51Speaker 1: House of Wind in his office and as Reel knock knock,
- 25:55Speaker 1: he's brought him some info.
- 25:57Speaker 4: The spreading of rumors and and.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Distent distaste just hate towards Reese, Asrael and Cassian in
- 26:07Speaker 1: the Illyrian camps is worse than they thought.
- 26:10Speaker 4: But they don't want to have ah.
- 26:15Speaker 1: They don't want to tell Cassian yet because he won't
- 26:17Speaker 1: be able to relax on on SOLSTICEE. Yeah, so they're
- 26:21Speaker 1: gonna wait to Yeah, descent.
- 26:23Speaker 4: The descent is spreading. Then.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Jurian and Vasa both are still in the human lands.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Vasa for some reason has been able not to go
- 26:31Speaker 1: back to the Lake.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I can't really remember why, but Jurian has pretty much
- 26:38Speaker 4: been left like in charge.
- 26:40Speaker 1: They trust him now, yeah, they trust him. He just
- 26:42Speaker 1: like is like left in charge. But the Solution has
- 26:47Speaker 1: been spending time in the spring Court trying to rekindle
- 26:49Speaker 1: a friendship with Tamlin, and Asrael has noticed that Tamlin
- 26:56Speaker 1: has got his borders wide fucking open, the legs open
- 27:02Speaker 1: for anyone to trot in and go down to the
- 27:04Speaker 1: human doesn't care, he doesn't give a ship. So Reese
- 27:07Speaker 1: is thinking, fuck, might have to have a go chat
- 27:09Speaker 1: with might have to go have a chat with him,
- 27:10Speaker 1: And I was like, let's go. So chapter eight back
- 27:16Speaker 1: to Cassian. He's still at the Devil's camp. He goes
- 27:23Speaker 1: to see a cloth the air and the clothier's name
- 27:27Speaker 1: you've got written down here, which his name is Proteus,
- 27:30Speaker 1: a protest or something like that, and he goes in
- 27:32Speaker 1: and he finds the guy's daughter instead. So he finds
- 27:36Speaker 1: out that the shop was left to his daughter. It's
- 27:38Speaker 1: quite a nice shop, and he talks about how Protist
- 27:40Speaker 1: was a very well off Ollyrian, making much more than
- 27:43Speaker 1: you know, any Ollyrians would ever make. Ollyans sounds super
- 27:45Speaker 1: poor or something, maybe eh, And so he goes in
- 27:49Speaker 1: finds his daughter. She says, well, my dad died in
- 27:51Speaker 1: the war.
- 27:53Speaker 4: And then she's running the shop and it's full of stock.
- 27:58Speaker 1: No one goes in there. Everyone hates her. She's a
- 28:00Speaker 1: woman and she owns something and they don't like her
- 28:03Speaker 1: for it. And so Cassie goes, well, I want to
- 28:05Speaker 1: buy all of that and a bunch of winter gear.
- 28:10Speaker 1: And he goes, can you spread it out to everyone
- 28:13Speaker 1: and say it's on behalf of their high lord?
- 28:15Speaker 4: And she's like, why not you? And he goes, better
- 28:17Speaker 4: to keep my name out of it.
- 28:19Speaker 1: M humble guy, What a humble guy. She goes, I'll
- 28:22Speaker 1: see it done. She's on the money, let's go well.
- 28:26Speaker 4: He says, yeah, go get it two. He needs it
- 28:27Speaker 4: most okay.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Chapter nine, back to Favor, she's on her way to
- 28:31Speaker 1: Rascina place to paint. She talks about having it, you know,
- 28:33Speaker 1: canvas in hand, a little nervous, and then she gets
- 28:37Speaker 1: nearly there and I can't quite remember what triggers it
- 28:42Speaker 1: in her, but she kind of has this moment.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Of like, fucking favor archer On, bro. What's Reese's last name?
- 28:47Speaker 4: Do we know? Do we?
- 28:50Speaker 1: Does he have one? Resand what's Recon's last name? I
- 28:53Speaker 1: don't looking up sand what is it?
- 28:57Speaker 4: Definitely hasn't been set.
- 28:58Speaker 1: What is Reeson's last name? He does not have a
- 29:02Speaker 1: confirmed last name?
- 29:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think so. Oh, should we make one? However,
- 29:06Speaker 4: there are many fan theories.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Should we make one too? Forget this? His surname is Darling.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Because he always says hello, favorite Darling. That's not right.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Can't be right?
- 29:21Speaker 1: Here we go because or it could be Danaan or Moonbeam.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Denian or Moonbeam links him to other characters in Mass's book.
- 29:32Speaker 4: Cool ah, that would be cool, But it's all fan fiction,
- 29:36Speaker 4: not real fiction. Why can't she come out and confirm
- 29:39Speaker 4: some fun ship?
- 29:40Speaker 1: So she's like a fair artron hag lady than I
- 29:43Speaker 1: caught and winnows into that abandoned Paulina's abandoned studio and
- 29:50Speaker 1: sets up the shop and she starts painting. Let's go
- 29:55Speaker 1: favorite she's painting, and so chapter ten she paints what
- 30:02Speaker 1: the araboris mirror looked like, the beast within and what
- 30:07Speaker 1: she saw.
- 30:07Speaker 4: You're gonna be cool if there were like paintings in
- 30:10Speaker 4: the book.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I love a book with a cheeky, little like photo page.
- 30:15Speaker 4: I love that.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it would be cool to a because I do
- 30:19Speaker 1: want to have one. Okay, one thing I think is
- 30:21Speaker 1: cool about books is that you and I would picture
- 30:24Speaker 1: everything about this differently. Oh yeah, and that's why I
- 30:28Speaker 1: saw this on something. But the reason why everyone is
- 30:33Speaker 1: like the books are way better is because when something
- 30:35Speaker 1: is depicted on screen, it's depicted the way the director
- 30:39Speaker 1: and the writer see it, like you and I.
- 30:41Speaker 4: See it different to Sarah J. Mass Oh.
- 30:44Speaker 1: And so when if this is depicted on screen, it's
- 30:47Speaker 1: going to be depicted from her brain and the director's brain.
- 30:49Speaker 4: That's not our brains. And that's why everyone's like the
- 30:51Speaker 4: books are better. The books are better. So excited to
- 30:53Speaker 4: say that too, By the way, we've never been able
- 30:56Speaker 4: to say it before. I've never been able to say that.
- 30:58Speaker 4: I'm so excited to say it.
- 31:00Speaker 2: So.
- 31:00Speaker 1: But one thing I do think where I would like
- 31:02Speaker 1: some continuity, is like things like the cauldron on one page.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Just have a picture of the cauldron so we all
- 31:08Speaker 1: can agree on what the culdron is. Were you picturing
- 31:10Speaker 1: or a boris mirror.
- 31:11Speaker 2: I'm picturing a bathtub, bro, I was pitching a bathtub too,
- 31:14Speaker 2: but I was thinking like a witch's cauldron, like a
- 31:16Speaker 2: cylinder type thing.
- 31:17Speaker 1: So I'm thinking bathtub shaped and everything, but old.
- 31:22Speaker 2: That's what I was thinking about all our bars. Maybe
- 31:24Speaker 2: we are thinking of the same all our baths are
- 31:25Speaker 2: built in now.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like one of those ones with feet. I
- 31:28Speaker 4: was thinking that. Yeah, and like black and like sort
- 31:31Speaker 4: of like rustick. I'm thinking gold.
- 31:33Speaker 2: You were thinking gold, gold, bro, I was thinking like
- 31:36Speaker 2: it looks broken I've been thinking I was.
- 31:38Speaker 4: I'm thinking porcelain bath. Oh really, I wasn't thinking that.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I'm thinking gold on the outside, white in the middle.
- 31:44Speaker 1: But the water is black as night, and then the
- 31:46Speaker 1: feet are also white.
- 31:48Speaker 2: I was pushing you know when you leave like a
- 31:49Speaker 2: bird bath outside for like ten years.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Yeah, that with like nice legs. Yeah's what I was picturing.
- 31:55Speaker 4: That's actually also a good description. Mine is like cartoony. Yeah, right,
- 31:59Speaker 4: I went full cartoon. Interesting. I suppose that is the
- 32:02Speaker 4: beauty of it though.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Yeah, true, how we picture it different? Yeah, but it's
- 32:05Speaker 1: funny with mine. It's like when the when the cauldron
- 32:09Speaker 1: broke in AKA war. You picturing it is like whoa
- 32:12Speaker 1: like intense? I'm picturing like a white golden bathtub broken?
- 32:17Speaker 1: What damage can that do?
- 32:20Speaker 4: Okay? Chapter eleven?
- 32:23Speaker 1: Sorry, chapter ten was quick one Chapter ten, So chapter
- 32:26Speaker 1: eleven back to Reese.
- 32:28Speaker 4: He goes to the spring Court.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Okay, he gets in there and it's worse for fucking wear, Bro.
- 32:36Speaker 4: I was thinking about time. Something's about that happened? Zero up?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Keep all right, it looks he says, it looks worse
- 32:42Speaker 1: than after Amarantha's cronies went and trashed to the place,
- 32:47Speaker 1: all right after Tamlin san Fara home and Akatar.
- 32:50Speaker 4: He goes. He knocks on the door and he's sinking.
- 32:53Speaker 4: What this place sucking? Gross? Bro? What is going on?
- 32:57Speaker 4: He's like, what's that? Brother? Brother? Brother? He knocks, knocks again, Tamlin,
- 33:06Speaker 4: what do you want see? I was picturing Tamlon in
- 33:09Speaker 4: like a bath robe.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Have you watched Mega Mind the movie? Who could I?
- 33:17Speaker 4: What else is another thing? I could think? Made Jack
- 33:20Speaker 4: with like his vape in his bodies when he used
- 33:22Speaker 4: to come.
- 33:25Speaker 1: So he talks about if you guys have watched Mega
- 33:27Speaker 1: Mind the movie, so there's the superhero that vanishes and
- 33:32Speaker 1: then when they go find him and he's just like, oh,
- 33:36Speaker 1: it's this ready, Mega Mind, No More Incredibles. Yeah, back
- 33:40Speaker 1: in the day he was a base mister incredible. And
- 33:43Speaker 1: then you just he's sitting in his office fat and
- 33:46Speaker 1: that's Tamilin. It is.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Do we feel bad for Tamlin a little bit? I don't.
- 33:54Speaker 4: He saved everyone say favor I his friend cheated on him.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Said they're talking about a lot of Reese will say,
- 34:03Speaker 1: you know, like this is what Tamilin deserves or he
- 34:05Speaker 1: deserves death.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Like I just think he's had a pretty hard run.
- 34:15Speaker 4: I like him. I wouldn't say I like Tamilin. He's
- 34:19Speaker 4: had a redemption arc and no one's helping him. He
- 34:24Speaker 4: had a big redemption arc. Save Save Race would be
- 34:30Speaker 4: dead if it wasn't for Tamlin.
- 34:31Speaker 2: If he said no and then he said I want
- 34:32Speaker 2: you to be happy.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Wrote some shitty note to him. Yes, Stan the wound,
- 34:39Speaker 4: that's what that was. But I wouldn't say I.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Liked Tamilin, but I don't think he's had enough of
- 34:43Speaker 1: like a redemption arc. It's got to be like redemption
- 34:47Speaker 1: arc to me is so he's done some good ship
- 34:49Speaker 1: to save Printhian, Like he's big, played a big part
- 34:51Speaker 1: and saved Prithian. But he also is the reason Prithian
- 34:53Speaker 1: was fucking there was a war, true, Like, just because
- 34:57Speaker 1: you ended it doesn't mean.
- 34:58Speaker 4: You didn't start it.
- 35:00Speaker 2: All because you wanted your mate back. Not even your mate,
- 35:03Speaker 2: a girlfriend that you didn't even fucking listen to.
- 35:05Speaker 4: You don't even know her birthday. So so he goes.
- 35:11Speaker 1: So he goes, Oh, tell him, we need to have
- 35:12Speaker 1: a chat, bro, Like, what's this about your borders? I
- 35:15Speaker 1: was like, fuck, come on, in, the house is trashed.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Tay Talent takes res to the only place that hasn't
- 35:20Speaker 1: been trashed.
- 35:20Speaker 4: That's his bedroom. There's a table in there. He sits down.
- 35:23Speaker 1: He goes, Okay, what do you want? He says, these borders, man,
- 35:26Speaker 1: we need to enforce this shit. He's like, hey, do
- 35:29Speaker 1: you see.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Anyone in this house? Legit? He says that. He's like,
- 35:36Speaker 4: do you see anyone around us?
- 35:39Speaker 3: Your little girlfriend, your little wife, she ruined my court, bro,
- 35:45Speaker 3: and he's like, you know what, Yeah, she did.
- 35:49Speaker 4: And he's like, oh, was that you in her head?
- 35:50Speaker 4: She learned from you, didn't she? And he goes, honestly,
- 35:52Speaker 4: this was all hers, So leave me out of this, bro,
- 35:56Speaker 4: leave me out of this.
- 35:56Speaker 1: The whole time, he just wanted to like kill Talentlan
- 35:58Speaker 1: kill Talentin, and I was like, fuck, go kill an
- 36:00Speaker 1: animal or something.
- 36:02Speaker 2: And then well, Lucian wasn't there because he was hunting,
- 36:04Speaker 2: because Lucia was supposed to be there.
- 36:06Speaker 4: Yeah, but he goes where he's Lousi. He goes, oh,
- 36:07Speaker 4: he's hunting because again, no people here to give us food,
- 36:11Speaker 4: will make us food.
- 36:12Speaker 1: And then he says, well, if it's people you need,
- 36:16Speaker 1: it's I can give you that. I can have a
- 36:18Speaker 1: fucking you know, a platoon or whatever he calls it
- 36:20Speaker 1: here tomorrow or now, and he goes, you can.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Leave those filthy Allyrium beasts off my fucking lawn.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Bro.
- 36:28Speaker 1: He's like, okay, fair, and he's like all right, whatever,
- 36:32Speaker 1: and he's like getting in Tamlin's head. He goes, he's
- 36:35Speaker 1: wanting Tamlin to like pounce out him, and shit, he's
- 36:37Speaker 1: making Tamla angry. And then Tamilin just keeps and saying leave,
- 36:40Speaker 1: all right, I'm done.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Leave. Reese is like, oh, come on, baby boy, like
- 36:45Speaker 4: get those claws out. Let's just a little bit. Cama's like,
- 36:48Speaker 4: just just fucking leave. I feel bad for him. I
- 36:52Speaker 4: didn't feel bad for him too, So Reese winnows away.
- 36:54Speaker 4: He's in peak depression.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Reese winnows away, right, and then he goes, fuck, I
- 37:00Speaker 1: noticed this guy hasn't got a single ward on his house.
- 37:04Speaker 4: He's waiting for someone to come in and slid his throat.
- 37:06Speaker 2: He's given up, mate, this guy has given up with
- 37:11Speaker 2: that some bread.
- 37:11Speaker 4: He's also skinny.
- 37:13Speaker 1: He goes like less muscle hairs, disgusting shirts, clothes like
- 37:18Speaker 1: dirty bro.
- 37:20Speaker 2: We definitely have to have some predictions about how, yeah,
- 37:23Speaker 2: he comes back to himself.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Fuck yeah, okay. Chapter twelve, Faarah is at the townhouse.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Cassie's rocked up for Solstice that's two days prior or something,
- 37:32Speaker 1: and he's brought a bunch of just like pine needles.
- 37:38Speaker 4: She's like, what is this, bro?
- 37:40Speaker 1: He goes, decorations traditions, Solstice, we gotta decorate with the
- 37:44Speaker 1: pine needles.
- 37:45Speaker 4: She goes, fuck it.
- 37:46Speaker 1: They go down and get a bottle of wine. They
- 37:48Speaker 1: get drunk together, they start decorating. As comes in, Who
- 37:53Speaker 1: the fuck let YouTube drunks decorate?
- 37:55Speaker 4: This is hideous and he's like disappointed in them.
- 37:59Speaker 1: He goes men try to fix it, and Fara's like,
- 38:02Speaker 1: come on, kim me give me like I'm just thinking.
- 38:04Speaker 4: Like a drunk mom. You have some wine, some wine, please,
- 38:10Speaker 4: as you please. He comes over.
- 38:12Speaker 1: He said, fine, glogok, glog glog, and then everyone starts
- 38:17Speaker 1: to rock up. You know, it's two days for souls
- 38:19Speaker 1: to someone someone hang out that people walk in Reese
- 38:22Speaker 1: Asrael's mid skull of an old, old bottle of wine,
- 38:26Speaker 1: right because Cassie and Faara was just like, we don't care,
- 38:29Speaker 1: and as Reel still like respects Reese. And so Reese
- 38:31Speaker 1: comes in from wherever he was seeing Tomlin, I think,
- 38:34Speaker 1: and he goes, oh, that's where my wine's been going,
- 38:37Speaker 1: and as like, and I was like, dude, own that ship.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I was like, as you, what's your confidence with my guy?
- 38:44Speaker 4: Own that ship? Legit?
- 38:46Speaker 2: And they're laughing and he goes and I know it's
- 38:48Speaker 2: Cassie and don't worry whatever, it's some real p Yeah.
- 38:52Speaker 4: It's hilarious, kind of cringey and so oh.
- 39:00Speaker 1: So Fara gets up after decorating. I think either next
- 39:04Speaker 1: day or same night. She goes in to talk to
- 39:05Speaker 1: Elaine in the kitchen and she's talking to Eline. Nuala
- 39:09Speaker 1: and Carol do were are there, and they're kind of
- 39:10Speaker 1: like shaking their head because they're like Elaine's besties. Now
- 39:13Speaker 1: she spends heaps of time with them, and they're like
- 39:14Speaker 1: shaking her at Paris saying don't I wouldn't try today
- 39:18Speaker 1: because she's in a bad mood.
- 39:20Speaker 4: She starts trying to ask about Nesta.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Elaine's going to see Nesta that day and she won't
- 39:25Speaker 1: come to Solstice, so Farah' is like, fuck, okay, I'll
- 39:30Speaker 1: go talk to her.
- 39:31Speaker 4: They have dinner. Paris says the Reese, I need to
- 39:33Speaker 4: go somewhere after this. They go.
- 39:35Speaker 1: They win if they go to her apartment, she's not there,
- 39:38Speaker 1: and then Reese goes, I could just literally like put
- 39:41Speaker 1: my power everywhere and find her, and she goes fine.
- 39:43Speaker 4: They go find her in.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Some seedy rundown bar in Valarus. She's playing cards with
- 39:49Speaker 1: four bachelors or whatever. Fara goes over reestairs outside Paris.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Saying, hey, you know, time for a fucking lin eventu
- 40:00Speaker 2: and all Ness has been doing apparently is drinking.
- 40:04Speaker 4: And fucking bro. Yeah, but it's not Cassie yet.
- 40:08Speaker 1: It's not Cassie and she's just She goes over the
- 40:11Speaker 1: three three guys look at fair. They go, oh, ship
- 40:13Speaker 1: my lady. They walk away. She goes which one of
- 40:15Speaker 1: them are taking him tonight? And necesss like, haven't decided?
- 40:18Speaker 1: Fucking hell nessa.
- 40:21Speaker 4: Hey, and is what? It is? Gorgeous? This is how
- 40:24Speaker 4: she's she's got the pick of the town. This is
- 40:26Speaker 4: how she's using her time. Starts talking to far She says, Farah,
- 40:32Speaker 4: where the fuck is your dog? Husband? She's like Jesus,
- 40:37Speaker 4: it's like, fuck, this is such a bitch. Bro.
- 40:41Speaker 1: They've offered her jobs and everything. She won't do anything.
- 40:43Speaker 1: She says, come to solstice. I don't want to come
- 40:47Speaker 1: to solstice.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Please.
- 40:48Speaker 1: You're part of the family. Why do actually part of
- 40:50Speaker 1: your family? Because you're literally our sister, all right blood.
- 40:54Speaker 1: She's like, you know, father Nest He goes, don't finish.
- 40:58Speaker 4: That sentence, so good, don't you speak his name? Fuck off?
- 41:03Speaker 1: She's giving him a nice tomb and stuff, like Pharaoh
- 41:05Speaker 1: gave him a nice, nice tombstone. In the city somewhere.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Well he had his redemption ar. Yeah, he's a bee bro,
- 41:11Speaker 1: And so she says to Nesta. Then she's like gets
- 41:14Speaker 1: up to theeve and she goes, look, please just just
- 41:16Speaker 1: can't you know she's not doesn't have hopes very high.
- 41:20Speaker 1: And then Nesta goes as Fara is about to walk out,
- 41:22Speaker 1: and Nessa's like, oh, my rent, My rent's due next week.
- 41:25Speaker 3: And I was like, what the fuck the audacity you're
- 41:29Speaker 3: fucking bitch.
- 41:30Speaker 4: Acity is the word. And Pharah goes, she like turns back,
- 41:34Speaker 4: she goes see a.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Solstice's like, come to Solstice and we'll see about your rent.
- 41:40Speaker 4: It's like the fucking audacity, bro.
- 41:43Speaker 1: So Chapter fourteen is Reese, and Reese is.
- 41:49Speaker 4: On his own today. Everyone's busy, and he bumps.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Into more somewhere and he goes like, fuck, let's go
- 41:57Speaker 1: for a walk. I haven't really spoken. They definitely spoken
- 42:01Speaker 1: about how the fact that he's you know, given Valarus,
- 42:05Speaker 1: like let Kier have access to Valarus, which is coming
- 42:07Speaker 1: in the spring, and also set up the meeting heress
- 42:10Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 42:10Speaker 4: So he's talking and.
- 42:12Speaker 1: They're talking about that a little bit, and she's like,
- 42:14Speaker 1: when are they going to come, and he goes, probably spring.
- 42:17Speaker 1: You know I can, I can literally put you on
- 42:19Speaker 1: duties elsewhere. If that's if that helps that she goes no.
- 42:22Speaker 1: He wins, then I want to be here and I
- 42:24Speaker 1: want to act like unbothered, and he goes, well, I
- 42:27Speaker 1: actually I really am going to need you in these
- 42:29Speaker 1: next few decades or whatever. I need you to be
- 42:32Speaker 1: the bridge between the night Court and everyone else. You know,
- 42:37Speaker 1: that's what you're good at. I need you to be
- 42:38Speaker 1: doing this. I need you to be going to the
- 42:40Speaker 1: other courts the continent. And he talks about how in
- 42:43Speaker 1: the past, like more, she traveled everywhere all over the world.
- 42:47Speaker 1: That's where she learned how to fight. You know, she
- 42:50Speaker 1: ort to these skills. That's why she knows what she knows.
- 42:53Speaker 1: And so she's like, are you doing this because you
- 42:57Speaker 1: think I need to leave or And he's like, no, no,
- 43:00Speaker 1: your choice. Think of this as an offer. I'm not demanded.
- 43:02Speaker 1: This is not an order.
- 43:04Speaker 4: I always loved this from me. Yeah, this is not
- 43:05Speaker 4: an order.
- 43:06Speaker 1: I when you think about it, but I will have
- 43:08Speaker 1: you know that I do need you right something. I
- 43:10Speaker 1: think that your best, your time will be best. And
- 43:13Speaker 1: it's so she's like, cool, think about it, and that's
- 43:16Speaker 1: really that's the fourteenth chapters, guys.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Interesting and look we're talking about it.
- 43:21Speaker 1: When you're talk about it's kind of it is cool,
- 43:23Speaker 1: but it's just also boring. But yeah, thinking back, like
- 43:26Speaker 1: we've had boring episodes of the other books, to.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Be fair, very true, I guess like we know there's nothing, there's.
- 43:33Speaker 4: Not going to be any like amazing moment in this book.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you know what with the other books, even
- 43:38Speaker 1: if it was it was even if it was a
- 43:39Speaker 1: boring episode because the chaps were boring, we.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Were still building up to something. Yeah, I have no
- 43:46Speaker 2: idea what we're building up to in this Yeah, there's
- 43:48Speaker 2: no blue balls at all in this book at all. Overall,
- 43:51Speaker 2: let's do some predictions, eh, Okay, So obviously the book's
- 43:55Speaker 2: going to finish at the winter solstice, you.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Think, so, I assume I have a feeling right now,
- 44:01Speaker 1: we're like a day away from which solstice.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Well, this whole book is a week, isn't it. So
- 44:06Speaker 2: there's two more days fourteen chapters finishes. Well, I think
- 44:09Speaker 2: like ten chapters or six chapters is going to be
- 44:12Speaker 2: at the winter solstress. My prediction is Nesta rocks up late,
- 44:17Speaker 2: something happens and there's a massive ordeal. She causes a
- 44:20Speaker 2: scene and you find out what happened with.
- 44:23Speaker 4: Her and cass In. Okay that or I hope they kiss, Okay,
- 44:29Speaker 4: I do not effing no, bro, I think so.
- 44:35Speaker 1: It says in there that Lucian's going to go spend
- 44:37Speaker 1: Solstice with Tamlin. Yeah, yep, somewhere so nothing of a lane.
- 44:42Speaker 1: So he probably won't come back. No, I don't think
- 44:44Speaker 1: so if he does.
- 44:46Speaker 4: Cool, I guess what actually happens on the night slash day.
- 44:51Speaker 2: I think it's a Christmas Yeah, okay, we got her
- 44:53Speaker 2: birthday to favors birthday. Rize will do some extravagant thing,
- 44:57Speaker 2: get a like sick. Maybe there'll be an amazing gest
- 45:00Speaker 2: like you know how he took her into that like
- 45:02Speaker 2: secret room of all the crowns and you could pick one.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Maybe there would be something cool like that.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Maybe. Well here's what I think. I think. Yeah, so
- 45:10Speaker 4: everyone will be there. They're waiting for.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Nessa's go rock up drunk, oh causing drunk of a man.
- 45:21Speaker 4: I hope you don't mind me bringing a date. That's
- 45:24Speaker 4: petty Cassian fights the date. Oh, what do you mean
- 45:29Speaker 4: that's slaughter. Cassie will kill that guy with the fucking.
- 45:32Speaker 2: But he's been playing with him obviously, won't kill him
- 45:35Speaker 2: on purpose.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Fair well, Okay, Yeah, I like the thought of Nessa
- 45:41Speaker 1: rocking it up, and it's been a bit and then
- 45:45Speaker 1: I still think that this book needs to lead to
- 45:50Speaker 1: something happening in the next one, because the next.
- 45:55Speaker 4: One isn't going to start off with like we were
- 45:56Speaker 4: all happy days. The next one Cargan a quarter silver flame? Silver?
- 46:01Speaker 2: Does that have something to do with the when he's
- 46:04Speaker 2: cursed and turns into a bird?
- 46:07Speaker 4: That'll be cool?
- 46:08Speaker 1: Vasa, Yeah, Basa because they mentioned during and Vasa she's
- 46:12Speaker 1: still maybe maybe Solcias gets wrapped up pretty quick in
- 46:16Speaker 1: the next.
- 46:16Speaker 4: Couple of chapters. Maybe maybe socials s gets wrapped up.
- 46:19Speaker 1: And then they go have a little visit down with
- 46:22Speaker 1: human Lands. How you guys going, Vasa, what's the delioh,
- 46:27Speaker 1: let's actually go see about that curse?
- 46:30Speaker 4: Ah? What's I like? That too?
- 46:33Speaker 2: Leads onto silver flames and because what else could that
- 46:35Speaker 2: one be? That makes sense in my head?
- 46:38Speaker 1: You do remember when we said this isn't smart? Yeah,
- 46:44Speaker 1: but then someone's left comment and they were like always
- 46:48Speaker 1: gets there hasn't got the silver flames might be there
- 46:52Speaker 1: just full of sex scenes.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Well, I'm hoping in this book Reese uh was in
- 46:59Speaker 2: Favor's mind and said you can pay me naked at
- 47:00Speaker 2: one point when she was nervous about painting. I'm hoping
- 47:03Speaker 2: she actually gets to pain him naked and he's like, yeah,
- 47:05Speaker 2: I have missed the pain or some ship and they
- 47:07Speaker 2: have another sexy scene.
- 47:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that would be great in this book.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I think that this is book's going to end with
- 47:13Speaker 1: Cassie and Nessa hooking up.
- 47:16Speaker 2: I think it might be another as real more situation. Oh,
- 47:19Speaker 2: it never happens, It never happens, she teases. Maybe she teases.
- 47:23Speaker 4: What does she know that they're mates?
- 47:25Speaker 1: Are they mates? I think they have suspicions. Yeah, there's
- 47:29Speaker 1: Cassie and even everyone's mates in this book.
